Help?
I'm looking for a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure fic that I read about two months ago. It's for part 4, Diamond is Unbreakable, and the main ship is Josuke and Rohan. I've tried searching a combination of many things that I remember into Google, but cant find it. I'm pretty sure I read it on ao3.
It's a longer fic: ~ 25 or 36 chapters. The main plot is that Josuke offers to repair Rohan's house in exchange for spending money. He sticks around and poses for Rohan's drawings, and helps develop a new female character for his manga. Rohan gets angry because his editor likes Josuke's ideas more. At one point, Josuke has to take a shower and finds a wardrobe of unused clothes that Rohan has saved for Koichi. One of the major themes of this fic is how Rohan shuts people out, cant communicate with those he cares for, and is generally lonely. At one point he buys Josuke a cell phone and uses it to communicate with him while Rohan's away on business in Tokyo. Later on they go to an amusement park with the gang and Josuke throws Rohan's sketch book into the river of a water ride.
I read this whole fic in 1 or 2 days, and loved every part of it. Any help would be appreciated.

First Christmas Together Headcanons: Josuke Higashikata x Reader
Gender neutral Reader written with they/them pronouns. The Reader, and by extension their family, celebrate Christmas. Reader is written to have a positive relationship with their family. Takes place at an undisclosed time after the events of part 4.
M/n = Mother’s name
A/n: Happy holidays, everyone! I hope the end of the year can be a good one for all of you no matter what you celebrate. I hope y’all enjoy. <3
Warning(s): An innuendo; just Tomoko being her usual outspoken-self.
Tumblr media
Early in November is the time Josuke began hearing small tidbits concerning your family’s annual Christmas celebrations.
It started out small, and mostly implicit. A passing mention of the holiday’s approaching, not so much about your own traditions specifically. In all honesty, most of the early excitement present in the group came from Koichi and Josuke himself.
Days slowly pass, and Josuke’s ears pick up more tiny nuggets of information. He’s more attentive when listening around this time of year- thinking about what you might want as a gift of course! You also offer another small mention of seeing family- it’s to be expected.
But then, one afternoon, he was hit with a bombshell:
“How do you like it?” Josuke asks, bending at the hip slightly. His gaze snaps down to the cup in your hand, both of his too preoccupied with holding one of his own to point or gesture.
The tips of both your fingers are all tinted, and steady breathing is softly visible in chilled air. All of Morioh is covered in a thin blanket of snow. Patches of ice do nothing to stop small children here and there from rushing about playfully.
At a time like this, when being good is pushed on them like no other, a few kids passing by have given you and Josuke pleasant smiles.
A smile of your own plays on your lips, a small but sincere one that easily reaches your eyes. “It’s real good,” you respond, “Thank you for buying me a cup.”
“Of course,” Josuke hums, leaning back and moving his gaze forward. “I’m not going to drag you around town in this weather without treating you to hot chocolate.”
A chuckle escapes your lips, glancing at him with a knowing look. “You’ll find something good for your mom by the time my fingers freeze off, don’t worry,” you jest.
Josuke’s lips form a thin line, momentarily pressing them together before they hastily spread apart. “I never know what to get her!” he defends, “For a woman like her- it’s always better to plan ahead, okay?”
“Okay, okay…” you chuckle, gaze falling to your feet. “Of course I understand, Josuke.”
“You got people in your family that are difficult to shop for?”
“Sure, I think that’s universal struggle for Christmas shoppers,” you shrug, “At least most of the family I shop for are too tired by the time we open gifts; really takes the edge off.”
Josuke raises a brow, genuine curiousness laced into his tone while asking, “Do you guys open gifts late on Christmas Eve?”
You shake your head. “No, we open them on Christmas morning.”
“What? You get up super early? Don’t worry, I get it… Santa visiting is real exciting…” he replies, lightly poking your arm.
You laugh along with him, once again shaking your head. After the both of you calm down, you finally elaborate, “My family… every year we get together at midnight on Christmas day. Whose house we go to depends on the year, but we have a breakfast together around one in the morning. Usually gifts are last, and usually people begin to leave around five or six in the morning.”
“Really?” Josuke’s eyebrows raise.
“Yeah,” you nod with a smile, “I started going a couple years ago, just because the younger kids in the family don’t always go in order to instead sleep. And, well, you know… to give anyone over the age of thirteen a break.”
Josuke hums, lips pushed out as he mulls over your words. You give him the small amount of time he needs to think about it, taking a sip of your hot chocolate in that moment or two.
“That… actually sounds really fun,” Josuke suddenly says. You turn to him, only to notice him already looking at you with a grin.
Although Josuke has always been happy to spend Christmas with his mother, he’s always wondered what it would be like to spend Christmas with a larger family.
After dumping a couple more questions on you about your Christmas traditions, Josuke offered you a sweet sentiment.
“I hope you have fun! The way you talk about it… gets me all excited for the holiday season, honestly. You’ll have to tell me about your Christmas morning.”
By that time next week, he was nearly knocked off the balance of his feet when you invited him over for celebrations.
You went on to tell him his mother was invited too, about how your family is willing to welcome them both with open arms, and how everyone seems excited to meet your boyfriend.
Josuke himself was still digesting the fact that you invited him to join in on your family’s Christmas celebrations in the first place.
Will your family like him? At least your parents seem to… maybe. Is he not understanding them correctly? Crap; he really hopes not. Surely they have to, they’re offering him to join in on their holiday traditions.
Do you have younger family members? You said that kids don’t really tag along, but it’s always possible. Josuke’s awkward with kids. What would your family- no, what would you think of that?
What if his hair looks off that day? If his hair isn’t holding well Josuke takes it as a sign that his day won’t go well.
His mind was racing a mile a minute, and he hadn’t even told his mother about it yet.
When he finally did bring it up, she declined the offer to go with. She said that she would definitely feel more inclined to get some sleep, but ultimately decided that Josuke could go.
However, it did come with a lecture:
“What are you going to do when you get there?”
“Thank Y/n’s family for inviting me…”
“What are you not going to do?”
“Spend the whole time in her room alone…”
“Nuh uh uh!” Tomoko shakes her head, arms crossed. “That’s not what I said!”
Josuke’s shoulders stiff, rubbing the back of his neck. Noticing the impatient tapping of her foot, Josuke sighs. “No ‘fooling’ around…” he mumbles.
“That’s right! I better not hear anything about the two of you doing anything inappropriate! I have M/n’s phone number! I’m not above showing up and dragging your ass straight home!”
God, he can’t look her in the eye talking about something like this. Although no one else is around to see, Josuke’s gaze moves around nonstop in order to find some semblance of escape from how utterly embarrassing this is.
However, Tomoko is extremely observant, both a blessing and a curse.
“Hey! Look at me!” she says, snapping her fingers.
Hesitating, Josuke finally meets her eyes once more.
“I’m serious, Josuke,” she continues, “You’re going to a family event- so make sure you’re on your best behavior. I expect you home by six thirty, got it?”
Josuke nods, yet still cannot help but let a huff escape his nostrils. “Yes, yes… I get it,” he responds.
Sighing, Tomoko unfolded her arms and to instead place her hands on her hips. Leaning her head back, she tells him in a softer voice, “Josuke… I know you’re getting older; believe it or not I do want you to enjoy that.”
“I know, Mom, I know…”
There’s a pause, Josuke internally digesting what his mother was getting at. What exactly’s going on in her head, it’s anyone’s guess. He doesn’t often dwell on such a thing, anyway.
“If you’re going to mess around, don’t do it at a family get together. Teenagers are teenagers, but I really think that-“
“Mother! Please!”
It was awkward and long-winded, but one lecture from his mother later and he was given the “okay” to spend Christmas morning with you and your family.
…Oh, god, he’s going to spend Christmas morning with you and your family.
Now that he was given the “go ahead,” Josuke is completely stuck in his head. His mindset is less worried about what your family would think of him (although that still makes him a bit nervous), but more curious about what this could mean for the two of you.
It’s… a big step, right? It’s certainly got to mean something. Meeting parents is one thing, but extended family is a whole other can of worms. Regardless of your relationship with them, that takes a lot of trust, right?
Josuke, while usually calm and collected, isn’t completely detached from getting nervous from time to time. When it pertains to you and the relationship you share, he’s steadily growing more used to experiencing new things.
Yes, wants to reach this milestone with you, but now that it’s steadily approaching… there’s no use in denying how his palms sweat thinking about it.
Both Koichi and Okuyasu see it as being a big deal as well.
Koichi approaches giving Josuke advice calmly, speaking from a place of understanding. Meeting Yukako’s family caused him a lot of stress, but assured Josuke that it’s really all in his head. That if he can find it in himself to relax a bit, it’ll be no problem. More than that, since he’ll be with you, it’ll likely ground him. At the very least, you know Josuke well enough to know how to be there for him if he needs it.
Okuyasu… well, bless him, does more harm than good with his approach. Going off about how important this is, and how it may dictate the future of his relationship with you. Just hearing Okuyasu go on, Josuke couldn’t help but bite his lower lip. He knows Okuyasu means well, as usual. But if it were coming from anyone else, Josuke would likely hit them.
Then, there’s you.
When Josuke told you about his nerves on the matter, December had just begun. The end of the year is moving closer, and in the distant is the anniversary of the two of you getting together.
That alone is enough to make his heart jump ten feet into the air.
You soothe his anxieties like no other. With soft, knowing words that travel straight to his heart. It isn’t just your words, but also how well they sound in the tones of your voice. Just two minutes into the conversation and Josuke is reminded why he shouldn’t be nervous. And the more he thinks about it practically, the more he relents that he can’t wait to spend Christmas morning with you.
It’s a little cheesy, to be sure. But if there’s anytime that people are allowed to be a little cheesy, Josuke figures it would be the holidays.
A couple more weeks pass, and Josuke finds himself getting ready late on Christmas Eve. Tomoko’s already turned in for the night, having suggested Josuke drink some coffee before heading out.
But giddiness is good enough at keeping him awake.
Yes, he plays some video games after getting ready, but it’s mostly to pass the time more than anything else. Just as he passes a level, he hears a soft knock coming from the front door.
Josuke paused for a moment after opening the door, taking in your appearance. Yes, he’s seen you dressed up before and vise versa. However, it never fails to leave him speechless.
“You look amazing...” he softly tells you, disregarding a usual greeting in order to immediately voice exactly what’s on his mind. The delivery is gentle and carries genuine tones that touch your heart.
The journey back to your house is possibly the most nervous he feels throughout the duration of the Sure Yes, he’s met your parents a handful of times before, but never talks with them for a long period of time. Regardless, within minutes, Josuke calms into his usual chatty self.
By the time the both of you are walking through the front door, a smile is present on his face.
Although not necessarily nervous; Josuke is a bit overwhelmed by how many people he meets throughout the night.
Older relatives that hold power within the structure of the family show genuine kindness yet put forward many questions trying to form an understanding of his character. Aunts and Uncles that tease the two of you about how there’s no use searching for a mistle toe- claiming there was no time to set one up. Cousins of all ages staying within their own closed-off group. A couple of younger relatives that seemingly wish to hang beside Josuke the entire night, in awe of someone totally new.
It is... a lot.
But what Koichi said proved to be true. The more Josuke put his anxious thoughts behind him, the better things turned out to be for him. At least, as far as his own worry is concerned. It turned out to be a lot easier than he initially expected.
And maintaining a relaxed attitude is not only where Josuke lives most his life, but thrives. It’s in that frame of mind that others around the two of you talk to you both happily as normal.
Plus, what situation isn’t further improved with food?
A vast array of breakfast foods litter countertops all over your house’s kitchen. The enticing smell of food is so prominent Josuke swears he can see the aroma rolling off organized plates.
While Josuke is internally joyful at the positive interactions he’s having with your family throughout the breakfast, you are quite pleased yourself.
The small gleam present in your gaze is nothing short of gleeful puppy love.
They adore him; you knew they would. But to see it actually unfold... to see Josuke joke along with your younger relatives... to see Josuke indulging in conversations with your older relatives... it’s downright heartwarming:
Sticking a mouthful of syrup-covered waffles in his mouth, Josuke keeps his attention between two of your relatives having a conversation. Not five minutes before, one of the two told him a story from when you were very young. So young, in fact, you don’t at all remember the event yourself.
Planting your elbow on the tabletop, you rest your chin in the palm of your hand. Thoughtfully, you glance to a preoccupied Josuke.
A smile has been present on his face almost the entire time. The expression mirrors your own throughout the first couple of hours of Christmas morning. You just can’t help yourself; the way he’s so casually managed to get along with anyone roundaboutly reminds you why you’re with him in the first place.
Feeling your gaze on him, Josuke turns. His eyes are widened, like a deer in headlights, and his mouth is still stuffed with an amount of food that makes his cheeks puff out. “Hmm?” he hums, not daring to open his mouth and speak. You watch him begin to chew hastily, doing little to conceal your amusement.
With one large gulp, you watch his cheeks deflate back to normal. “Yes?” he finally asks, smiling.
You open your mouth to speak, but are cut off by one of your younger cousins rushing over to Josuke’s side opposite to you. She’s bubbly and ecstatic for the holiday, likely having begged her parents to finally let her come along this year.
And much like the other younger members of the family present, she’s convinced that Josuke’s just the coolest.
“Josuke! Josuke!” she giggles, tugging on the sleeve of his arm. He quickly turns to her, maintaining his grin without hesitation.
“Yes?” he asks, raising his eyebrows.
“Y’know what Santa’s bringing me this year?”
“Hmm… I dunno…” he rubs his chin, giving her a quizzical look, “Wanna give me a hint?”
“An instrument!” she squeaks.
“A musician, huh?” Josuke chuckles, and the little girl beams at his observation. “Hmm, how about… a saxophone?”
She shakes her head “no.”
“A ukulele?”
“Nope! Keep guessing!”
“What about… a harmonica?”
With a giggle, your cousin once again shakes her head.
Josuke throws his head back, dramatically slapping a hand to his forehead. “Please tell me!” he pleads, “I can’t guess!”
She bounces on the balls of her feet, and folds her arms around her back. “A drumset,” she finally confirms, holding her head held high.
“Really?” Josuke asks, matching her enthusiasm. “But how do you know he’s gonna bring it to you?”
“Because I asked for it!”
On the other side of the table, her mother clears her throat and comments, “She’s been asking for it for four months now.”
“Four months?” Josuke glances at the woman briefly before bringing his attention back to the little girl. “Well, now, Santa’s gotta know what you want for sure.”
Nodding gleefully, the girl’s mother beckons her over, subtly allowing Josuke to get back to eating. Earlier, she had nagged at her daughter about “hanging on him.” Not that he really minded much, though, finding it endearing.
And it isn’t until he turns back to you, immediately making eye contact once more, that it dawns on him that he’s quite endearing to you too.
Time flies by rather fast, and soon enough everyone’s gathered in the living room to open presents.
Considering the number of people present in the household, Josuke wasn’t surprised that the gifts opened were strictly the ones given by fellow family members instead of any sort of “Santa” gifts.
Regardless, he sat up straight once you finally reached for the gift he’d got you. Pride was written all over his face when you even complimented the wrapping he apparently did “all by himself” (Crazy Diamond did it for him).
It’s something small and sweet.
If you like wearing jewlery, he saved-up money in order to get you something he knew you’d love. If not, he instead opts to buy you something you’ve explicitly had your eye on for a while. Regardless of either, his face turned viciously red when you engulfed him in a tight hug in response.
Your own gift to him was something he would’ve likely cried tears of joy over if he weren’t surrounded by people he’d just met that night.
It’s a new pair of shoes, made by one of his favorite Italian brands. Just by the way he looked at them, you thought his eyes were going to pop out of their sockets. Similarly to you the hug you gave him, he wrapped his arms around you appreciatively. You relished in the feeling, ignoring some of your family members’ teasing.
Experiencing something this new and anticipated with Josuke melts everything else away. It’s more than enough to finally push you into proposing something to him that’s been on your mind all morning.
“Josuke,” you whispered to him, taking advantage of the fact others were still preoccupied unwrapping gifts, “I think I’m going to walk you home instead of having my parents drop you off.”
He thought he was going to faint right then and there. Yes, he would technically be going against his mother’s wishes by doing so, but just the feeling of your gentle breath brushing against his ear leaves him defenseless.
Without a second thought, he agrees:
Walking side-by-side, hand-in-hand, you and Josuke walked back to his house in a comfortable silence. The walk is short enough to justify doing so to your already exhausted parents, but long enough to let you two thoroughly enjoy being alone together.
Turning a corner, his house finally comes into view. And although your chilled fingertips are grateful to make it halfway through your walk, your heart drops.
He stops you at his front door, gently setting down the box containing his present on the paved stoop.
“Thank you for letting me spend Christmas with you,” he clears his throat, setting his gaze on your hand he’s still holding. Reaching out his other, he sandwiches it between both of his. “I had a lot of fun…”
His voice is soft, almost hesitant. If you were standing back a yard, you doubt you’d be able to hear him.
“Me too…” you nod, smiling.
Knowing him well enough by now to already know what he’s trying to get at, you use your free hand to cup his cold cheek. Leaning forward, you both press your lips against each other. Despite the chilliness, his lips are as inviting as ever.
Wrapping an arm around your lower back, he pulls you a step closer. The action deepens the kiss, lips moving against one another with vigor but not enough to be aggressive. A quiet sigh escapes his mouth, head light and spinning with bliss.
The kiss ends far too soon for either of your liking, but shy smiles and gentle giggles still fill the otherwise silent space after pulling away.
“Y’know…” he clears his throat, “My mother and I usually tend to wake up late on Christmas at this point. And if you wanna call your parents you can always use our phone, and uhm…”
“What’re you getting at Josuke?” you ask, tilting your head to the side.
“Uhm…” he rubs the back of his neck, avoiding eye contact, “Do you… wanna maybe stay over? We can just crash on the couch if you’d prefer. And again, you can call your family to make sure it’s okay. My mother’ll be mad but at only at me, so if you-“
“Josuke,” you cut him off, laughing. “Yes! Yes… I’d love to.”
Sighing in relief, he quickly whirls around and fumbles a bit trying to unlock the front door. “Good… would hate for you to freeze out here, after all!” he says, prompting you to giggle once more.
Josuke was in a hell of a lot of trouble later that morning, Tomoko nearly having a heart attack in mere surprise walking in on the both of you curled up on the couch. To him, it’s well worth getting to snuggle with you in the early hours of Christmas morning.

A Bizarre Beginning
This is the 2k word first place fic won by @strawberrystepmom in my 600 followers celebration event.
Warning(s): Swearing, that’s basically it, this is a meet-cute sort of fic that is more like 2.5k than 2 but I got carried away, oh also this is post-part 3 but pre-part 4 mid-twenties joot, and he is still in his emo phase because i said so
-
You weren’t sure how you got into this situation in the first place—it was bizarre, to say the least, but you couldn’t bring yourself to regret it. It was the opposite, in fact, you wanted nothing more than to stay where you were for the rest of your life.
It all began when you met the love of your life—Jotaro Kujo. You were fresh out of college, with a bright future in your, well, future. You were ecstatic to achieve such a large goal on your road to normalcy. All your life you’d grown up with something strange always lurking around you. . . something nobody else spoke of. It was like it was invisible to everyone but you, though you knew you weren’t crazy. It was a humanoid figure, though more alien-looking than human. You could tell it to come and go, but it didn’t do much else besides hover around.  Eventually, you accepted your fate, to be forever bonded to the bizarre entity, and ignored it as much as you could. It didn’t bother you nowadays, especially now that you had a normal future ahead of you.
That’s when you met him. The man who saw your companion.
It was a normal run-in—walking the aisles of a supermarket, your ever-hovering entity trailing behind you as you grabbed your groceries. You had spotted him at the end of the aisle in a large black coat, a similar colored hat upon his head. He looked rather handsome—at least from where you were standing, so you quietly slid closer, pretending to browse for nothing in particular.
You searched your mind for something clever or interesting to say to him, but had nothing. It was strange—you would normally never approach someone like this, but it was like something beyond your reach lured you closer. You couldn’t help yourself. You had to talk to him.
“Hey,” he suddenly spoke, deep voice spooking you. You jumped lightly, taking a step back. He didn’t look at you, but instead stared at the two items in his hand. Two cans of soda. “Cherry or vanilla?”
You tilted your head, though of course he didn’t see. Deciding not to question why he was asking a stranger for advice on fizzy beverages, you answered him. “Cherry-vanilla,” you said, grabbing the aforementioned can off the shelf. You held it out for him to grab. “It’s the best of both.”
He set the cans down, looking over to grab the soda, when his eyes widened ever so slightly. He leaned back stiffly, guarding himself as he stared you down. “Call off your stand before things get ugly,” he threatened, an entity materializing beside him. You gasped.
His spirit looked completely different than yours—a muscular, scantily clad god-of-a-man with long black hair and piercing eyes. It locked eyes with you, unblinking. You beckoned your own companion beside you. “You can see it, too?” you whispered. “And you have a spirit of your own.”
“They’re called stands. And they’re manifestations of your soul.” His stance relaxed slightly. “I’m assuming by your reaction you’ve never met another stand-user before.”
“I always assumed I was alone,” you said. “There’s others out there like me—well, like us?”
“Yeah. Too many, if you ask me.” He grabbed the cherry-vanilla soda from your hand, popping it open as he gestured you to follow him. “Follow me. I’ll tell you what you need to know.”
You did as told, trailing behind as he walked out of the store, chugging the soda down before tossing in the trash bin outside. “You gonna pay for that?” you questioned, glancing behind you at the clueless cashier.
“I doubt a can of soda will bankrupt ‘em. Now let’s get a move-on. I don’t have all day to play teacher.”
“Get a move-on where? I don’t even know you.” You stopped, watching as he opened the door to his car. He rolled his eyes, as though your legitimate concerns were petty questions that didn’t need answered. Still, he spoke up.
“Jotaro Kujo. And we’re heading back to my apartment. I’m not standing in a grocery store revealing sensitive information.” He gestured to the passenger door from his side. “Get in.”
“Great,” you muttered sarcastically, popping the door open and slipping inside. “This is definitely not a stupid and dangerous idea. Sure. Why not?”
“Stop talking to yourself. If you think it’s so stupid then why’d you follow me out here?” He started up the engine, pulling out of the parking lot. He turned up the radio slightly. Punk-rock played through the speakers. You two had the same taste in genre, you noted. At least if he was going to kill you, you’d die listening to decent music.
“Because I care more about answers than my wellbeing,” you replied honestly, arms crossed as you stared out the window. “My whole life I’ve never seen anyone like me. Then I suddenly run into you at a grocery store I decide to visit for the first time? It’s. . . bizarre.”
“Stand users are more common than you’d think. But even so, the likelihood of bumping into each other. . .” he trailed off, brows furrowed in concentration. His hands gripped the steering wheel, fingers occasionally tapping against it. “It’s like we’re all magnets. . .”
“Would you mind elaborating? How do you know so much about all this, anyway?”
He shot you a glare. “Damn it. I’m trying to think here!” You locked eyes with him, returning the dirty look tenfold. It’s not like it was your fault for getting coerced into a stranger’s car. Well. . . it may have been a little bit of stupid curiosity on your part, but to pass up the opportunity to get answers about the being that’s haunted you since you could remember? That wasn’t going to happen. You couldn’t let someone like yourself slip through your fingers. You had to know what he had to say.
“You told me you’d give me answers, Kujo.” You clicked your tongue. “But fine. I’ll shut up. . . for now.”
The rest of the ride was silent, save for Jotaro muttering under his breath. When he finally pulled into a nice apartment complex, you tore out of the car. You were halfway to the building before he’d turned it off. You stood on the concrete sidewalk, leaning on either foot anxiously.
He walked past you, heading up the stairs. You followed swiftly behind, careful not to step on his coat. Why was he wearing such a large jacket, anyway? It was rather hot out. If he was trying to make a statement, he should’ve gone with white. It would contrast his hair better.
You brushed off your odd thoughts, instead watching as he finally stopped at a door, swinging it open. He didn’t bother to welcome you inside, just leaving it open as he slipped his shoes off. You followed in, shutting the door behind you. You took your shoes off, setting them neatly against the entryway wall. You almost left them on in case you needed to sprint out of there, but your common courtesy forbade it.
“Alright. Now answers,” you said, taking a seat on the plush brown couch in the living area. He stood in the kitchen—the open floor plan allowing you to watch him as he dug a soda out of the fridge. He tossed a can to you. Well, more like at you.
“Would you give me a second? Good grief, you’re impatient.”
You barely caught it before it hit the window behind you. You looked at the label. Cherry-vanilla. Why did he ask you about your soda opinion in the first place if he already had. . . it didn’t matter. You popped it open, taking a sip. “I came here to talk about why the hell you and I have strange entities permanently tied to our bodies and how we managed to run into each other despite the likelihood of that happening being next to zero. Not to sip soda and have small talk.”
He finally took a seat across from you in a comfortable looking loveseat, popping open another soda. “I hear you. Jesus, woman, give me a break.”
You huffed. “Just tell me what you know, please.”
“Look.” He took his hat off, setting it on the coffee table. He propped his feet next to it. If you were his mother you’d scold him for that. “This whole thing started with my great-great-grandfather and his asshole step-brother. It’s a long story.”
Your eye twitched. You glanced over at your spirit—or stand as Jotaro called it—that was lingering beside you. “Any way you can start a little closer to the present day? Like how you managed to control your ‘stand’ like you did? All mine does is sort of hover around.”
Jotaro’s stand appeared once more, standing next to the seat. “I call him Star Platinum. All you need to do is focus on controlling it. It’s part of you. Like moving a limb.” Star Platinum punched the air a few times before letting out a swift and rather quiet, “ora”. You blinked. His could even talk? Well. . . make sounds was a better word for it, but it still surpassed your own stand, who was barely more than a semi-permeable puppet. You turned to face your entity. You examined its every detail, studying it like it was your own body. You imagined it moving its hand to pick up your soda, now discarded on the coffee table. It did nothing. You grunted, focusing harder. You concentrated with everything you had. It’s your hand. It’s your hand. It’s your hand. Move. Move. Move—
Your stand’s fingers twitched, before its whole arm came alive. It moved robotically, but with purpose. Grasping the soda can, it picked it up, handing it to you. You took the soda. You sipped the sweet beverage smugly. You did it.
“Good to know you’ll be safe next time you visit a vending machine,” Jotaro ridiculed, a barely noticeable smirk on his face.
“Shut up,” you shot back. “Anyway, what does some distant relative have to do with all this?”
“To save time, all you need to know is that the asshole step-brother became a vampire, stole my ancestor’s body, and led an army of stand users to kill my grandfather and I as we tried to save my mother from becoming victim to her own stand. Other people joined us too but they’re not important right now. They have stands as well. So does my grandfather. We killed the vampire—Dio—but stand users keep appearing, and we don’t know why.”
You resisted the urge to spit up your soda laughing. He had to be joking. Did he really think you were that stupid? Body-snatching? Vampires? This wasn’t a movie or some bizarre television show. Those so-called ‘creatures of the night’ weren’t real.
“It sounds fake,” Jotaro said, breaking your unbelieving silence. “It’s not. You know stands exist. They don’t make sense, either.”
“Fine,” you accepted. “Let’s say your little bizarre adventure is true. That still doesn’t explain how we could’ve possibly met each other. I’m not even supposed to be in this town. I took the wrong bus.” You relaxed your elbows onto your knees, leaning forward. “What’s the answer to that?”
“I don’t know,” he confessed, crunching his now-empty can. He threw it behind himself haphazardly. It landed into the bin perfectly. You wondered how long it took for him to do that.
“Well. What about your grandfather or the people you mentioned?” you asked. “Do they know anything?”
“Half of those people died on the trip. My grandfather’s in no shape to do much of anything. And Polnareff is already scouring aimlessly with no answers.”
“Oh.” You glanced at the wooden floor awkwardly. “Sorry for your loss.”
“All you need to do now is put your stand away, lay low, and watch out for anyone who may be a stand user,” Jotaro said, quickly changing the subject. “Not everyone who has a stand is an upstanding citizen. They can and will use them for evil.”
“Are there more stand users around here?” you questioned. “I guess if we’re all attracted to each other like magnets, there’s bound to be more.”
“Exactly. Which is why you need to learn to use your stand for more than picking up soda.”
“I get it,” you said, waving off his taunts. You stood up from the couch, walking towards where he sat. “I’ll keep in touch. For now, I’m going back home. I’ve had enough information for one day. Gimme a paper and I’ll jot down my number.”
He stood up, and you stepped back. You forgot just how tall he was for a second there. You wondered how many doorframes he’d hit in his lifetime.
Jotaro grabbed a pad of paper and a pen from off the kitchen counter, tossing it to you. You really did not enjoy the amount of throwing this man did. You managed to catch the pen and paper though, though it wasn’t your hands that held the objects, but your stand’s.
“You’re catching on fast,” he said, leaning against the counter, elbows holding him up. “Not bad.”
You ignored the sudden warmth of your cheeks, instead scribbling down your information before tossing the paper and pen back. “There. I put my name on there too since you didn’t have the decency to ask for it.”
With that, you slipped your shoes back on, swinging open the apartment door and walking out.
Jotaro watched you leave, a gleam in his eye and an embarrassed smirk on his face. As much as he hated to admit it, he was looking forward to seeing you again. Even if you were loud and snarky and matched his quips blow-for-blow. As strange and unexplained the attraction between stand users could be, he had a decent idea about why he was drawn to you.
He was never one for romance—he’d skipped all his school dances and after-school parties—but there was just something about you. He glanced at your unfinished soda placed on the coffee table. What a stupid way to talk to a woman. Cherry or vanilla? Though he supposed he did manage to get you home in one day. He must’ve done something right.
He looked to his side, examining Star Platinum’s giddy expression. As much control as he had in his stand, he could never get Star to calm his unwaveringly unhidden emotions.
He scoffed, shaking his head. “Good grief. My idiot grandfather would be ashamed.” How’d that old man act so charismatic all the time?
Meanwhile, after you’d finally made it back home after hours of taking public transportation, you collapsed into your comfortable bed, thinking about the man you’d met that day. You couldn’t get him out of your head. Even after all the information you’d received, all you could picture was Jotaro’s stoic expression as he spoke, black hair falling into his face without his hat to keep it up. He intrigued you. Not only because he was the first person you’d ever met with a power like yours, but also because of his demeanor. There was something more to his stoic nature. And you couldn’t wait to discover it.

Vore.
synopsis: an injury has impacted more than just your body, and josuke’s boldest admirers advances causes you to end up consumed by whatever the arrow that pierced you left behind... whatever monster it is
cw: bullying, some fondling (not consensual, outside party doing to josuke), self-harm, blood, swearing, nightmares, use of pet name “baby” but no gendered pronouns, established relationship with josuke as romantic partners, may be missing something but i think that’s all
um this is based off a song (vore by sleep token) because i love. them
Tumblr media
Your life has been hell since you survived an arrow through the chest. Shame fills you whenever you think how it may have been better to just die. Whenever you entertain the relief in that you think of your boyfriend, your group of friends, your “promising” future.
But as you stare in the mirror - a beast stares back.
You’ve lost the ability to see yourself. No matter what you look through, your reflection is the shape of a wolf. Angular jaws and jagged, sharp teeth mock you of the humanity you lost in surviving that day. You lived. But ultimately you feel like you’ve died.
Splashing your face with cold water, you feel the water drip down your solemn face. Smiling hasn’t been a part of your daily routine since you’ve met the apparition grinning at you in the mirror. Its jaws open in laughter – you can hear it echoing in your grieving mind. You don’t understand how your stand, essentially another version of yourself, could revel in turning your life into hell.
As you wipe your hands dry you see hair beginning to sprout from your knuckles. It’s bushier and more noticeable than normal. With a sign you grab pliers, quickly plucking the hairs from your hands while your reflection cackles at you. Teeth with honed edges, outline of their eyes in a devious triangle as they enjoy your daily struggle for control.
You walk into school in your boyfriend’s hoodie to hide the hair covering the majority of your arms and because you missed him all weekend. A hat covers your unruly hair, unmanageable locks despite all the brushing and combing you attempted. Everything seems to be in double vision as you head down the hall to your classroom.
“You’re so darling Jojo,” you hear a girl say while you open the door. She’s leaning against Josuke’s desk, propping herself up to stare right into his eyes while drawing attention to her chest. First few buttons open, she exposes her chest. “Such a good guy.” You stare with narrowed eyes as your double vision issue isn’t sparing you from witnessing how desperate she is to get with your boyfriend even with a class full of single guys wishing they were in the position Josuke is in right now.
“Jo,” as soon as Josuke hears your voice he’s standing up and heading to you. He pulls you into a hug, lifting you off the floor briefly in his excitement. “Hey baby.” You greet with a low chuckle, happy to see him but still plagued by your unwanted company.
Josuke rests his hands on your hips while staring into your eyes. “I missed you this weekend.”
“I’m sorry I had to cancel our date…” you legitimately meant that. Your heart stings with having to say no to a picnic, as your preferred spot was finally free of mud and the pollen count was impressively low. But you were struggling with the beast that resides within the very fibers of your being. It was probably the closest you’ve ever been to letting this… this monster take complete control of you. “I’ll make it up to you somehow, love.”
“I know you will baby.” Josuke smiles, ready to kiss you when you duck your head suddenly. As he got closer you realized the fangs protruding from your mouth, a development from this morning. “Are you oka-”
“Class is beginning!” You dodge his question by using the teacher strolling in as an excuse. Josuke is skeptical but with the instructor beginning their lesson he can’t do much about it. Still he stares back at you and observes how you’re refusing to take off his hoodie, or pull the sleeves from over your hands, even as the temperature climbs and a test is handed out.
☆☆☆☆☆
You can’t seem to find Josuke at lunch. He’s not waiting with Okuyasu and Koichi like he normally is while you head outside so you guys can get lunch from anywhere but the school cafeteria. Anxiously you pull the sleeves of his hoodie further over your arms but stop immediately when the sharp black nails you wish you didn’t have begin to tear through the fabric. Koichi stares at you and he’s about to question if something is wrong when Okuyasu interjects.
“I see Josuke!” At his words you turn to where he’s pointing, seeing your boyfriend being patted down by the same girl flirting with him this morning. She has an expression that replicates empathy but you see the devious curl of her lip when her eyes meet yours. Hair pulled back in a ponytail, she flips it as if to mock you while Josuke watches flustered. You want to believe he’s just red faced because she’s running her hands across his body, nothing but napkins and his uniform jacket preventing her from basically groping your boyfriend’s chest.
“What’s Kiki doing with him?” Okuyasu is more concerned about a pretty girl fondling Josuke rather than him while you’re pissed Josuke has let her touch every inch of his chest, now moving down to his thighs. “What the hell!” Your friend besides you shouts in disbelief when she gets on her knees, fiddling with the buttons of his uniform while “cleaning” it.
You simply glare at her, not knowing what to do in this situation. Observing Josuke carefully, you don’t see him actively fighting her advances. Perhaps blinded by jealousy or this beast inside you – likely both – you just head out of the cafeteria. Koichi tries to follow you but it’s like you’ve vanished once he pries his eyes from Josuke.
Before you could see it, Josuke had jerked himself away from her grip after getting over the initial shock of her bold advances. He’s never had anyone touch him like this and he thought she was trying to be nice and clean him up after spilling water all over him, but it’s not nice to touch someone like that without consent. He stares down at her with a glare which prompts Kiki to scramble off to her friend group of girls, all utterly shocked she had the guts to do something like that. Especially in front of you. But everyone is stunned when you’re just walking away, disappearing without a word.
Josuke turns to see Okuyasu and a befuddled Koichi, panicking when he asks where you’ve gone and Koichi only stares at him with his own confusion.
☆☆☆☆☆
Fear weighs heavy in Josuke’s stomach when you don't return after lunch. He’s paranoid that you hate him and he doesn’t want Kiki’s assault on him to ruin your relationship. His head thumbs against his desk when his text messages won’t send no matter how many times he refreshes the app, the wifi, or resends the message.
It feels like an eternity before the school day ends. Once he’s free, Josuke is immediately trying to get to you. Practically sprinting, he notices how his messages still won’t go out to you. Confused and already paranoid, Josuke cautiously looks around to see an ominous figure standing on top of a cell tower. Groaning, all Josuke can get out with all his frustration at the stand user trying to fight him now of all times is, “fuck!”
☆☆☆☆☆
Meanwhile you’ve been using the knives that have replaced your fingernails to pierce your skin. Holding yourself tightly at the waist, blood trickles from the open scratches you’ve given yourself with your vicious nails. No matter how many times you clip these things away they regrow – even longer as if upset you’d even dare to remove it. You’ve broken your mirror into just shards in utter hate for the monster that has replaced your reflection. Yet you still hear the creature inside of you laugh, cackling at your misery it’s responsible for.
You don’t know why the sharp pain in your sides isn’t helping this beast be appeased. Like the Aztecs did long ago, you’d offer this evil entity blood to appease it. You first found out that hurting yourself calmed the spread of it’s influence when you cut yourself chopping vegetables. Hair began to retract and the tufts atop your head retreated like they were never there. Since then you’ve been making this sacrifice in order to hold onto who you are. You wish you didn’t have to offer this thing inside of you your blood, since unlike the Aztecs you’re not asking for protection or a plentiful harvest, you’re just begging to maintain humanity.
It’s like with every hair that sprouts from your skin you lose yourself. Now you’re almost entirely covered in hair despite the blood dripping off your claws and pooling under you onto your sheets. Ears the biggest you’ve seen yet – thick fur pouring out from them like a wolf – you can’t seem to feel your regular ears in the thick forest on your head. Despite your normal ears being gone you can hear better than you ever have. The dazed vision you’ve had all day transforms into something otherworldly keen despite only greys, yellows, and blues being seen. Chest heaving and mouth open as you snarl, several of your teeth erupt into elongated fangs. Your human canines now protrude so long when you close your mouth, which you can barely do with how hard you’re breathing, they’re clearly visible.
What the fuck will you do now?
You’re ashamed that Kiki is the root of why you’re this way now. You’ve finally lost the fight you’ve been struggling to barely survive. Now you feel yourself pulled into an abyss, entirely consumed by the creature you wish would die so you can resume living.
It’s bizarre how much energy that transformation took. You begin to nod off, falling asleep despite never wanting to be alone with what is possessing you. As you drift off you are consumed by black as you are finally eaten alive.
In your dream you see a wolf sitting in the snow. It’s panting like a dog, eyes crinkled like it’s had a good run which the deep tracks in the snow support. You watch as the wolf swishes its tail, still mimicking a domesticated hound. When you dare to approach the go-lucky creature it bites your hand, blood splattering into the snow to turn it crimson. The wolf has narrowed eyes that show you nothing but hate. The happiness they once held has been eroded upon contact with you.
Suddenly you’ve fallen through the snow, plummeting until you’re in a field. Daffodils, sunflowers, and daisies fan around your sore body as you lay among them. Everything has a yellow tint to it as you see the blue sky with ambiguous blobs swirling across the atmosphere. For the first time you feel serene since being cursed.
As soon as that thought crosses your mind your head is dipped down to the cruel wolf growling deeply and gritting its teeth – until it sees you. The creature calms and you don’t know why. Until you look down and see the hair covering your body and flowers intertwined. Your eyes widen as your breath hitches. The wolf approaches you but you’re suddenly sitting upright, realizing you’ve woken up.
Frantically you check yourself to see you’re still a werewolf type beast. But you don’t feel as wrathful. For once you got some decent sleep. For once you’re not spiraling with rage. For once you… got along with this evil entity inside of you? Maybe it’s not evil after all…
A sudden knock pulls you from your thoughts. You panic with wide eyes and your mind races in how you could hide your strange form for your parents. Wait, would they be able to see your transformation? No one can see the beast that has resided within you but they can see the hair that would cover your knuckles. “Damn!” You growl out as you rush to find a robe or something else to try and cover yourself. When you grab your satin rope your claws tear right through it which you respond to with another animalistic groan.
“I’m coming in,” The voice you’re very familiar with narrates as the door widens. You stare riddled with anxiety because no way can Josuke see you like this. Yet by the time the door is all the way open you still haven’t moved. Your ears twitch and you feel the heavy tall at the lowest portion of your back swish before stilling. Embarrassment heats your face at Josuke witnessing your new form. You’d be hopeful he can’t see you, but his stunned expression and sweat beginning to gloss his face tells you he most definitely does.
“Babe…” He begins before trailing off. His worried eyes see the dying blood turning your shiny skin matted and he’s rushing to you. “What happened?” You noticed when he stares up at you with those horrified blue eyes that he’s not in the best shape himself. Scratches across his cheek and a busted lip from the inside, there’s no way it doesn’t hurt. Yet he still kneels at your side as you hold your torn robe in a feeble effort to conceal this transformation. “You’re bleeding,” Josuke continues before an entity emerges from behind him. It’s your turn to be surprised by him as the apparition seems to repair your scarred sides like nothing had happened.
“I fixed you with Crazy Diamond. I know that sounds insane!” He’s bashful as he explains what that being with a comforting light blue and pink color palette was. You believe him much sooner than he would have guessed, maybe because nothing seems weirder than abruptly changing into a werewolf.
You nod at the end of his ramble to let him know you’ve taken it all in, more or less. “So this is my stand? Being a… werewolf?” You’re a bit bummed in your tone. It’s a little disappointing that he gets a cute stand that resembles him with a great deal of power while you become a scary dog whenever you’re pissed. “I feel like this doesn’t match my soul…” As you look down Josuke takes your hand in his before pulling you into his arms. Your height has entirely changed so as he holds you he’s only a few inches taller than him. He really notices this while you’re in his arms.
“Woah!” He says looking into your eyes. They’re absolutely captivating, the deep color swirling much like a tsunami. Josuke is scared of getting hypnotized in the unnatural color of them while he reassures you. “Stands are odd things. I think this… this makes sense.”
“What does that mean, pretty boy?” You quirk your eyebrow but he can’t exactly tell.
“You have the best qualities of a wolf. You’re devoted to those you love, you’re playful but serious whenever it’s needed, and you’re the most courageous person I know.”
“Then why did I hide this from you?” It’s painful to admit to running from him in your attempts to run from yourself. Hurts, but at the same time you feel clarity begin to cleanse your consciousness. “Why I cancelled our date?”
Josuke stares at you and puts some distance between you so he can really stare into your eyes. His irises hold nothing but compassion and admiration while yours continue to swirl in a cocktail of fear and shame.
“This is some scary shit. You’re a werewolf babe!” You immediately chuckle, his wide eyes and genuinely bewildered tone making you remember there’s a reason you seek his comfort for just about anything else. Why would this… new type of puberty? or whatever for you is any different? “Werewolf or not, you’re the one I love.” He rubs your hand in his before kissing the top of your head and he watches with a confident grin when your tail swishes fervently. “That’s cute.”
“Shut up…”
☆☆  EXTRA  ☆☆
“Do you want to sleep over? I’ve missed you.” You’re honest and direct and it’s relieving to you both that your confidence seems to be reinflating after a harsh puncture.
“I’d love to. I’ll text my mom.” Josuke kisses your forehead as he says so, seeming to not mind the hair still covering your body. You’ve been cuddling in your bed for a while now, your tail curled around his leg while he wraps his arms around your waist. You’re the warmest you’ve ever been and there’s no need for blankets with Josuke’s warmth against your skin and your thick fur keeping him warmer than any comforter could. “This form is great for cuddling.” Josuke jokes and your nod with a twitch of your ear.
Silence settles between you two as you listen to Josuke’s steady breathing. He seems legitimately relaxed with his head in the crook of your neck and your tail lovingly tapping his leg from how it’s wagging.
“I want to apologize.” Josuke suddenly says and it makes your blood run cold. You’re reminded of the reason you originally succumbed to your unnamed stand. “I don’t like Kiki. I’ve never liked her. I was so startled when she started touching me I froze. I know how it looked, how embarrassing it must of bee-”
He can’t even finish talking before you’re shutting him up with a subtle growl. The noise gives Josuke goosebumps. “It’s not your fault. She was taking advantage of you to get to me. I’m going to get her back for this.” You have a monstrous grin on your face – really only monstrous because of your massive fangs. Josuke can’t help but smile at your conniving, as he loves a prank.
At your words your body changes again and luckily it’s far less painful. Your fangs retract enough that you can close your mouth, ears vanishing into small tufts that seem to be a part of your hair, and one of your eyes has changed color. Josuke stares in amazement once again at your sudden transformation before him. You look absolutely disheveled with torn clothing and frazzled hair, yet still precious to him.
“I guess my stand didn’t like that I was plotting revenge with its power.”
“Maybe this means you feel bad about it deep down.” Josuke’s suggestion has you quirking your brow and this time he can clearly see that. “Yeah, nah.”
“You know me so well.” Once you say this our ears and tail pop out again, your tail swaying slowly in approval of Josuke’s comment. “Oh, this is weird.” He observes your half transformation before chuckling a bit about how your stand really is just a dog. “Stop laughing!”
Josuke heaves from his laughter so you push him playfully. “I need to talk to Jotaro about this, it’s so bizarre!” You join him in laughing because well, it is odd. You’re sure other stands are weirder but your ability seems to have some interesting triggers and despite not being a great deal of energy the average person can see your werewolf form.
“What’s your stand name?” Josuke suddenly asks and you just blink in thought. “I want to give him a name for it.” He elaborates while you take another moment to consider.
“How about Abysmal Vore? Since when I transformed I fell into this abyss, and it was like I was consumed.”
“You really want to include the word ‘vore’?”
“You don’t have to make it weird.”
Josuke chuckles as he says, “fine. Abysmal Vore for my who-”
“I get that it rhymes but you should stop right there.” You threaten jokingly, knowing he’s going to make a stupid joke part a million. “I’m going to scare the shit out of Kiki this Halloween.” You nuzzle into his shoulder as he writes the message to Jotaro and he can’t help but smile at seeing you lively again. Even if it is to get revenge on one of your classmates. Well… is one of your classmates that harasses him and thinks he’s hers for the picking.

Part 4 Critique: Everything I'd Change
I love DIU..however, I consider it one of the post flawed of the JJBA Parts. Honestly, I feel like Araki didn't fully know where he was going with it til halfway, which is why the plot can be so janky. No matter what, let's dive into it. First, characters.
(also quick disclaimer: this is all my opinion and i am biased for MANY things.)
if u diagree w me dont tell me i think it would crush me
Characters [Josuke, Jotaro, Okuyasu, Kira]
Josuke Higashikata
Tumblr media
I LOVE Josuke. I think he's a lovely character concept and his design is really cool. My main problem with him is literally his LACK of screen time!! He is the Jojo of this part, yet his spotlight is constantly stolen by other side characters like Koichi, Rohan, and even Jotaro. This also happened a lot in Part 3, with it basically being the Polnareff show (idk why Araki did this sm in pts3-5...either let the mc have screen time or don't have them be the mc!!)
I think Josuke had some of the most missed opportunities in DIU. Especially with his relationships with other characters. I think this part could've been way more interesting if it chose a solid theme, and one that I think would've made sense is commentating on death & tragedy and how that can impact personal relationships. The reason I believe this is because there's already easy set ups for this in the story. Ryohei's death, The Nijimura Brother's family, Reimi, Shigechi, and Jotaro all have that theme in place, but not enough connecting points or real arcs related to this. What was the point of killing off Ryohei (who was the only father figure Josuke had growing up) if you're not going to show how this impacted Josuke, Tomoko, and how he acts with others besides one single page? Sure, it taught him that his powers have limits and that he can't save everyone, but that was a stupid thing to teach him because Okuyasu doesn't fucking die when he should've!! Like why did we make an arc saying 'hey stands aren't magic they can't bring ppl back to life' just for EXACTLY THAT to happen??
Moving on, I also have problems with his stand. I LOVE Crazy Diamond, I think it has a super cool design and power concept, but personally I wish it's powers were more grounded and had clear limits. I feel like a lot of stands suffer from this treatment of vague power limits (ex: Golden Wind..) but my problem with CD is that there were MANY opportunities to add one! For example: we know Josuke couldn't bring back Ryohei even after using his stand on him. So that bears the question: what can CD not fix? What is the real reason it can't bring a dead person back to life? Jotaro says "No stand has the power to bring back the dead" WHY?? am i missing something? Have I forgotten when it was officially established that stands cant do that? I mean, literally in part 3 there was a stand that could reanimate corpses. So does it have to do with the soul? No matter what, I would've used this moment to establish that CD can't bring back ANY living thing. I actually wrote a short fic abt this and included the fact that he also couldn't "fix" a dead leaf. I feel like overall his stand needed more grounding.
Tumblr media
Also, I have beef with Josuke's backstory, but I'll get into that later.
Jotaro Kujo
Tumblr media
Ok firstly, I have MAJOR beef with his design in part 4. Mainly the fact that he's drawn extremely pale in the anime. Like..obviously he COULD be pale as he is wasian (im not trying to say all wasian ppl look the same), but he is TAN in part 3. Why did they take that away?? Pisses me off to the extreme. At least they fixed it in p5+6. Anyways..
Character wise, I really enjoy Jotaro's personality in p4. I like how he's mellowed out in comparison to p3. However, I feel like he needed a more clear role in the story. He showed up to figure out grandpappy's shit, and then took the leader role when facing Kira. Why don't I like this? Because most of the time Jotaro was just..there. I think Araki wanted him and Josuke to have a mentor/student relationship (ex: rat episode) but just didn't focus enough on them or Josuke training with his stand for this to work.
Also, the fact that it took Jotaro so fucking long to figure out who Kira is WITH the help of all those other stand users is so goofy. Like him and the gang back in '89 found Dio's ass from a goddamn microscopic fly in a photo but couldn't find Kira's identity?? Like ugh he almost redeemed himself with the button thing but then he got blown up like gosh what happened king
When it comes to stands, I forever find it stupid that Jotaro didn't work with his stand to become more powerful. Araki just had to nerf him (which is something he does with most reoccurring characters, ex: Joseph). I don't like it and it pisses me off.
With the death of Ryohei, I feel like it would've made more sense for Jotaro to somewhat open up to Josuke and be a bit more sympathetic towards him about it (or maybe he stays closed off until Josuke explodes, causing Jotaro to reveal the truth about his past.) Either way, I think the two of them could've bonded over shared grief.
Okuyasu Nijimura
Tumblr media
I absolutely ADORE Okuyasu. I think his dynamic with Josuke is really fun to watch and his personality is just overall super enjoyable.
Stand wise I do think Araki slightly nerfed him by making him dumb as fucking rocks, but I let this slide a little more just bc he's a side character..
I honestly think Okuyasu has the best character arc out of the whole part 4 cast. I think he definitely deserved more screen time, but what we got was really solid in my opinion. His relationship with his brother was well developed and it was really interesting to see how it still affected him even after his brother's death. The way he felt a need to get revenge for his brother and still felt like he wasn't enough really hit me in the gut. I love him.
When it comes to Okuyasu's "death" I have very mixed opinions. On the one hand, ofc the goat of part 4 survived. On the other hand, I feel like him surviving goes directly against the idea we've been given since the beginning. You can't save everyone. And on the one hand, I enjoy the subverting of expectations. On the other hand, I don't like how it's still just never fully explained. I guess in JJBA as long as your soul doesn't feel like dying yet, you won't. I wish we saw Okuyasu actually speaking to his brother when he "died" however. I find him and Keicho's relationship really gut-punching and that would've been a fire scene imo.
I have more to say on him, his dad, Keicho, and the arrow, but I'll save that for when I'm talking about the plot.
Yoshikage Kira
Tumblr media
I find Kira to be a really interesting villain. I really enjoyed every moment we got going deeper into his psychology and it's something I really wish we got to see more of. I enjoy his sleek design and he's fine asf tbh.
Im not gonna give commentary on his stand rn bc honestly i dont fully remember how that shit worked by the time he was using the arrow
Character wise I just really wish he was established as the main villain sooner. The build up and hints dropped about him were so addictive, so it's disappointing that they're only there a little before his full introduction.
The psychology of Kira is something I really liked. The way he truly believes he's never really done anything wrong and only wanting to live a peaceful life is something I wish was even more looked into. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but from my memory, in the manga Kira's whole thing with his nails growing quicker when stressed/when his need to kill is getting too strong was only psychological. At least, I don't remember them growing the same way it's shown in the anime. I think this would've been something really interesting to deep dive into. The fact that he believes his nails grow when his need to kill is really high is really intriguing and the overall connection between hands and his killings are something I wanted to be fully developed more. I know it was kind of just a weird ass fetish but like..that's interesting!! this is interesting!!
I'll probably make an individual post to talk more abt him.
Plot
Where do I even begin. The plot of part 4 is all over the place. I loved many episodes, and I enjoyed when it leaned more into the slice of life style, but why the fuck where there like 3 seperate plots? Honestly, cut out Anjuro. His whole plot shit was annoying as hell. Didn't care for him.
Akira's entire plot pissed me off. I only like this arc because of Okuyasu. Overall I found there to be a lot of plot holes and just annoying parts. Everything til Kira was like this for me. Like get to the REAL plot please.
The arrow annoyed me. I've never wanted to rip my hair out more than when Kira's dad got a hold of it. He was SO GODDAMN ANNOYING. I like the concept of Kira using the arrow to get allies or ways to cover up his plot, but most of the stand users that came out of this were annoying and Kira's dad was insufferable in the worst way possible.
I think something I wish was more covered by the plot is the aftermath of Part 3 and Dio in general. This is something that CDDH (best jojo spinoff) covers really nicely, however. Go read it.
I also just in general think more should've been done w Okuyasu's dad, as he is a direct aftermath of Dio.
I feel like a lot of the women in Part 4 were set up to have strong, actually plot-influencing roles, but then were totally side-lined. I'm going to make a full post abt this tho.
Reimi being connected to Rohan never made sense to me. Just narratively speaking, why did you connect the main motivation for catching Kira to a side antagonist instead of the main character? This is slightly fueled by my hate for Rohan but like, c'mon! I think it would've made more sense to 1. just not include Rohan so fucking much and 2. connect Reimi to Josuke's past.
Speaking of Josuke's past, I feel like it just..needed more. Or at least, I think something needed to be done with the boy who saved him. I can appreciate the idea of it connecting to a theme of the general kindness of strangers, but you don't see that theme pop up as much in the rest of the plot. Also, I again would've connected Reimi to Josuke because WHY ISN’T SHE CONNECTED TO THE MAIN CHARACTER OH MY GOD
Overall tho I like the vibes of part 4, i really enjoyed different arcs and characters, and I just wish Araki got more time to flesh everything out and refocus on certain themes and characters.

13. Fave thing about the Jojo fandom?
Is it sad that it's a little hard to do because the fandom itself I'm so iffy on? But I like small, specific pockets of the fandom... aka my friends lol. But fr the self-ship community has been pretty nice as well as a bunch of the fic creators, very supportive, great parts of the fandom.

14. Fave thing about the Jojo series?
Honestly it's the music references, I think it's such a fun and unique part. The art style is also so distinct, which I think is very important for anything.

29. Rank your order, favourite to least favourite of: All the Jojos
I feel... I might... get some backlash... I will not be ranking Johnny or Gappy because I don't know that much about them. And tbh... if I was to rank Johnny based on what I know... I don't think he's going anywhere near the top as far as my personal tastes go.
6. Giorno: I don't dislike him at all, I do like Giorno a lot, but I think he was the least interesting in his part's cast, so that brought his score down for me.
5. Joseph: Look... yes he's a dick+cheated on Suzi, but I don't like DIU anyways. He at least had an active presence in his own part and I have a soft spot for SDC Joseph.
4. Jotaro: I feel like Jotaro's just too likeable. He's quiet like Giorno, but he doesn't take a back seat in his own story and we do see him appear the most in the series, so he's always present in our minds. He's like the bridge between the older and younger Jojos.
3. Josuke: Another case of taking a back seat in his own story, but when Josuke's on screen, he had such personality you forget that there were eps where he wasn't in the spotlight. I really wanted to see more of him and his adventures, maybe I would've liked DIU more.
2. Jonathan: I can't imagine the series without Jonathan. He was so resilient and kind, he was the blueprint from the Jojos. I always have a soft spot for the first of anything I watch. Iconic design, OP, and villain.
1. Jolyne: She broke her family's curse and achieved ultimate peace to do what she wanted. Amazing design and design progression, you see her grow and learn with her stand more than any other Jojo, she was a breath of fresh air for the series.
Like with the OPs, I might go more in depth on my ranking selection in a separate post and why I think my brain has ranked them like this.

hey i really like your jjba fic! im super stoked to see what the DiU storyline is gonna be like and what Golden Soul is capable of- i think Jotaro seeing that Dio can be brought "back" as a construct will give him a heart attack lmao
i cant wait to see all the dio children meet up- giorno too!
also weird question, but do you have plans on uploading your fic on ao3? ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
Tumblr media
I’m so glad you like it! When I first started writing this I was worried nobody would like it since it’s pretty different from most reader insert fics out there. I kinda just wrote it just for me to make me happy. Imagine my surprise when other people liked it! Comments like this and knowing other people enjoy my weird little fic keeps the series going.
The entirety of the first book is actually already on Wattpad and I’m already posting DIU!
I’ve never really used ao3 before but I’m open to posting over there!

Reader coming out to Josuke as transmasc

Josuke sat anxiously at lunch as he waited for you to join him. This was a daily occurrence for you two. As he hid from the girls that flocked him, you’d join him always. It was pretty much the highlight of his day, ever since you two had met. He enjoyed being your boyfriend but he noticed how late you were. Checking his watch, he watched as the seconds ticked away into minutes.
“Josuke?” His head lifted up as he heard you speak. With a smile, he waved and greeted you as usual.
“Hey baby! Come, sit!” He grinned as he spoke, patting the seat beside him. You slowly took your seat and stared at the floor silently. With a raised eyebrow, Josuke tried to make conversation.
“I heard you got the job at Tonio’s! Congrats!” Josuke said. You didn’t even look up as you muttered a thank you. “I know what restaurant I’ll go to more often now-“
“Josuke, I have something to tell you.” You interrupted him. He nodded at you, telling you silently that you could speak. “Josuke, I’m not a girl. I understand if you don’t want to be together anymore but I-“ Your voice trailed off. It sounded like you were going to cry.
“Y/N, we’re together because I love you and you love me, right? Why would your gender matter to me if I love you regardless?” He put his hand over yours as he looked into your eyes. “I’ll never stop loving you.”
“Thank you, Josuke. I love you so much!” You leaned forward and hugged Josuke tight. You thanked him silently as he slowly hugged you back.
“Don’t thank me. You’re being yourself and I love you.” Josuke said as the doors to the rooftop slammed open. “Ah shit. Babe, we gotta run!” Josuke laughed as he looked over to see the group of girls that flocked him constantly. You stopped hugging him and gripped his hand, dragging him to his feet as the two of you ran for the other rooftop exit.

June Drabble Challenge Day 5: Cinema
“Josuke? Are you scared?” “What? I’m not.” “It’s okay if you are. It’s not a big deal.” “I told you I’m not.” But Josuke was looking at everything other than the cinema screen. “I’m sorry I messed up. I thought it was going to be an action film. I didn’t know it was going to be scary.” “I told you—” “Yeah, yeah, you’re not scared.” Okuyasu repeated then cleared his throat. “But if you uh, were scared, you could hold my hand.” Josuke looked at his friend, staring for a minute, before reaching his hand out to grasp Okuyasu’s.
Someday I want to write a story for them because I’m sappy AF and they deserve sap (Even though this is already super sappy sorrynotsorry). LOL. Day 5 (The word is Cinema!) of this fun challenge here! This ship is delightful and the characters wonderful so I enjoy writing them. Thanks!
