Look headcannons | Creepypasta + mood boards!

This includes style and how I imagine their normal fits in this modern day. Also like race n whatnot.

Also, their everyday outfit is what they wear to kill their assignments! Their general aesthetics is like stuff they wear around the house or when they buy groceries or smthing. I’m sorry if I generally describe them the same way, but I promise how I vision them is different. Once I learn to draw it’s literally over for y’all.

Their everyday outfits are typically similar and nothing like their general aesthetic because of convenience reasons.

I don’t ever follow cannon so please don’t hate! Also don’t take the bodies too seriously! Y’all are beautiful just the way you are.

Jeff the killer

Face: triangle shaped face, slightly upturned nose with a slight curve from breaking his nose, hooded bright blue eyes, sharp jawline, thin lips. Unhealed but healing mouth scars, slightly discolored blotchy skin and unusually wide eyes. Wears guyliner. His mouth scars are like wide open btw. Super thin eyebrows tbh.

Physic: he’s got some boob, 5’11. Wide shoulders, a lil toned, but he’s got some squish. He’s got some MADDDD cake. His legs are hella muscular too.

General Aesthetic: lazy edge lord. Sweatpants, band tshirts, converse, slides. BLACK CROCS. Kinda pink sometimes tho, but that’s only cuz of Ben’s influence. He’s got a crazy collection of pajama pants tho (he has my kuromi pants from a secret Santa gift)

Everyday outfit: black ripped skinny jeans, black hoodie with a black turtleneck underneath. Wears some nice earrings tho and has an eyebrow piercing. Has a similar strap to EJ, but just on his thigh, it carries his knife and money. So yes he has a thigh strap.

Jane the Killer

Face: oval shaped face, bow shaped lips, high cheekbones, dark brown upturned eyes, upturned nose. Skin is a little patchy from the past burns, otherwise she is almost fully healed due to Slenders help. Has slight gashes on her cheeks but they’re mostly closed. Thicc arched eyebrows.

Physic: pear shaped, more booty than her chest. 5’8, seems a lot taller. A bit bony, long armed and long legged. A little toned, tho her arms especially, she’s got some DEFINEEED arms.

General Aesthetic: elegant lady going to the art museum. Wears a lot of longer pleated skirts (either knee length or longer), long silk dresses, heels, occasional converse. Shirts are form fitting and typically elegant or professional. Loves silk, satin fabrics and the occasional velvet.

Everyday outfit: a black sleeveless turtleneck with black flared pants and black fingerless gloves. When it gets really cold she wears a dark red coat with grey fur on the lining. Has a thigh strap and a chest strap to carry her weapons.

Ben Drowned

Face: heart shaped face, male button nose, small lips, completely black eyes with blood running down them. Pale skin and hella sharp cheekbones. Sharp ass jaw too.

Physic: 5’9. Broad shoulders, a little scrawny. Defined chest and shoulders, his stomach hella toned, he doesn’t got much cake but a barely adequate one. No boobs for this guy either. No honka honka for him :(

General Aesthetic: a lil punk and a lil basic. Like he wears a lot of plaid and also a lot of baggy band tshirts, so not really but sort of. He’s got the emo hair, he wears green plaid skinny jeans with a graphic tshirt and black combat boots a lot. Or converse. He’s got a lot of facial piercings too. So he’s just barely punk. He’s getting there tho.

Everyday outfit: a light green baggy tunic that kinda has a deep V �� and some black baggy pants that the tunic is tucked into. His shoes are black combat boots. Across his waist he wears a brown leather belt that has a small compartment on his hip where he can put his shit in.

Clockwork

Face: downturned lips, tan skin, a clock for an eye. Her other eye is monoloid shaped tho and brown. Hair is dark brown and messy straight. Button nose definitely.

Physic: pretty boxy and muscular. 5’11. She doesn’t have much boob or butt since she’s so muscular. There is a slight contrast between her chest and her stomach, but not that much. She’s defined and toned.

General Aesthetic: it switches everyday. Sometimes she’s pretty tomboy and other times she’s 2000 emo. She wears converse, short shorts, low waisted pants that have the bedazzled butt pockets, cropped tshirts and tank tops. So maybe 2000s party girl?

Everyday outfit: black zip up hoodie with fur lining the neck, lowrise dark blue bootcut jeans, dark red tank top. Brown ankle boots.

Ticci Toby

Face: male version of a button nose, diamond shaped face, bow shaped lips, multiple face piercings (snakebites, eyebrow piercing), slight stache on his chin and above his mouth (he shaves). Fluffy brown hair. The gash on his mouth is basically healed. Very very pale skin, pretty hazel eyes u could get lost in forever. Average brown eyebrows.

Physic: almost concerningly skinny, like he just barely makes the mark of being healthy. It’s cause he forgets to eat. 6’1. His shoulders are broad but he’s like a triangle if anything. Not much cake :(

General Aesthetic: boring white boy. Nowadays he only wears turtlenecks and tank tops with some boring ass pants. Tho they are tight on him 😏 he left behind his old hoodie habit. He picked up motorcycling gloves and vans.

Everyday outfit: a black, long sleeved, form fitted turtleneck with a black back harness for his axe’s. Black skinny jeans and converse for convenience. He still wears his goggles and face mask!

Judge Angels

Face: triangle shaped face, her chin has a prominent point. Almond shaped black eyes, heart shaped lips. Olive toned skin, pretty tan. Has a prominent crack on her left canine tooth. Upturned nose, crooked smile. Blond straight hair that greatly contrasts her skin. Blond short eyebrows.

Physic: short and petite, 5’2. Lean, doesn’t really have much muscle, or at least doesn’t look it. Pretty flat chested and a normal ass. She has calves of steal tho.

General Aesthetic: white and messy, likes baggier clothing and more trashy punk looks. Like she wears Tripp pants, oversized tshirts, big hoodies. She doesn’t really wear makeup except for some shittily done eyeliner. Her hair is still blond but now it has the occasional black streak.

Everyday outfit: one of those baggy tops that have the cuts down the sides yk what I’m talking about? Anyways it’s white with a bunch of charcoal on it that she stole from Bloody painter. For bottoms she wears black knee high combat boots and a pair of black, low waisted, wide leg shorts. Obviously under the shirt she has a sports bra. She also wears fishnet gloves.

Puppeteer

Face: Grecian nose, dark gray skin, almond shaped yellow eyes, a square shaped face, medium lips. I think his teeth are hella white tbh but he’s definitely got fangs of some sort. Thicc black brows.

Physic: pretty boxy, like he’s lean n all, but he is kinda straight up and down. Average cake, average waist, average muscle and tone. He’s still hawt tho, his hands 😩 6’3

General Aesthetic: helluva boss reject. Wears trench coats and boots and skinny jeans, business pants. The occasional hoodie. Doesn’t wear a beanie anymore. Or converse. Tho his wardrobe has lots of skulls. He kinda does a 360 with his wardrobe, going for more of an old school pirate vibe.

Everyday outfit: wears a long black trench coat that clips in the middle of his waist, black skinny pants, below the knee black boots, black button up (the last three buttons unbuttoned) are underneath his trench coat.

Nurse Ann

Face: diamond shaped face, button nose, mid/weaker jawline, thiccer lips, not a prominent cupids bow. Definitely pale/Greyish skin tone. Her hair is brown and is like boob length, also somewhat wavy.

Physic: curvy, kind of apple/pear shaped. She’s definitely well endowed with the bewbs and butt, has a more rounded stomach too, has thicc thighs and calves as well. 5’4.

General Aesthetic: fantasia 2000 princess type beat. I feel like she’s a huge fan of midnight blue and fantasy type of outfits. She loves dresses of any length with frill, lace and intricate designs. She loves puffy/billowed sleeves and mostly wears flats or boot heels. She’s also particular about silver star/moon designs.

Everyday outfit: I don’t think her outfit changed at all tbh, I think she still wears the black nurse costume and hat, tho I do think she’s added more weapons in her collection. I think she’s started focusing on needles and chemical injecting, tho she still uses her iconic chainsaw.

Bloody Painter

Face: oval shaped face, thin lips, bright blue almond shaped eyes, Grecian nose, a lil tan ngl, black messy hair (idk how to describe his haircut tho, it’s a lil long, straight and fluffy??)

Physic: kind of in the average or boney ratio. He has bony hands and forearms but aside from that he’s got medium sized shoulders and a slightly smaller waist. Ngl I feel like he does have some random curve at the bottom so some honka cake, but not much. 5’11

General Aesthetic: painter in despair. I think he likes Jean jackets, he’s like the male version of arthoe. He likes black/blue jeans, kinda looks like he came from the outsiders, wears baggy leather jackets too. Mostly sticks with tshirts with random bull on it. Also always has a brown satchel with him.

Everyday outfit: I feel like black cargo pants, black turtleneck and a black chest harness, probably combat boots too. On his chest he still has the smiley pin, but aside from that, for his assignments he goes pretty neutral and just for convenience. EJ totally helped him pick out his outfit too his first assignment.

Rouge

Face: square shaped face, upturned nose, chubby cheeks, vintage shaped lips?? Idk how to describe it. I feel like her hair is a messy black Bob now, but like pretty messy I mean it. Kinda tan. Definitely has freckles.

Physic: 5’7, pretty boxy. The best I can describe her is like Audrey Hepburn built. Idk why I feel like her and A.H are so similar. She’s boney and relatively small like that.

General Aesthetic: a little vintage sometimes, like she switches decades a lot. She wears fashion trends from the 1950s to modern day, both feminine and masculine styles. So she wears dresses, miniskirts, jeans, colored turtlenecks. Really her closet is very alive. She has stolen from her assignments hella tho ngl.

Everyday outfit: a black miniskirt with a tighter grey turtleneck, red tights, black calf length boots. When it’s cold she has a cropped jacket with a fuzzy hood and insides.

Masky

Face: oval shaped face, tan skin, dark brown hair (short and messy,) dark brown eyes, uhhh mid-somewhat sharp jawline, straight nose.

Physic: strong, average short 5’9. Builds more bulk, has strong arms and shoulders but a smaller waist, he’s got some MADD V-line. He’s got a nice smackable amount of cake.

General Aesthetic: 😏😏😏. He wears flannels, darker colored skinny jeans, SOMETIMES THO he wears 70’s pants that are like right around the hips and like highwaisted and whatnot with a sleeveless cropped tshirt. He’s oddly vintage with stuff like that, but in a rock singer type of way. He only just started getting into this tho.

Everyday outfit: dark blue skinny jeans, black tshirt, tan jacket that has a LOTTA compartments.

Laughing Jill

Face: button nose, oval shaped face, high cheekbones, an average (a lil weak) jawline, pale skin, black irises. Thinner lips. Thin slightly arched eyebrows.

Physic: southern mommy. SORRY. 6’2 tho Bc shes mythical. I think she’s a wide hourglass too?? Like she is big chested and she def has a gyatt, she’s got tummy. She isn’t really defined at all.

General Aesthetic: Harley Quinn wannabe. Just likes the mix matches jumpsuit idea. Like she loves mixing and matching contrasting colors and especially black and white. She mixes in some lavender too. Is always wearing the most dangly earrings too.

Everyday outfit: an above the knee length skirt with a black petty coat underneath, a long sleeveless vest that goes to her mid calf and buttons together under her boobs. Her shirt is a plain white button up with puffy sleeves. For shoes she wears black heeled boots. Her hair is in a curly bun with a tiny off center hat.

Hoodie

Face: Roman nose, not that pale, diamond shaped face, pretty light brown eyes. Pretty strong jawline. Short black hair (dyed recently)

Physic: muscular, 6’2. Hes beefy. Like he’s got boob muscle, ass muscle. HE IS SCARRRY. Think like a smaller Miguel O’Hara almost. He’s less beefy than that, but like yk still beefy.

General Aesthetic: tbh think he went for a goth/alt vibe. He mixes feminine and masculine occasionally. Wears like long skirts sometimes, like a kilt almost?? Wears the fishnet tights as shirts, has multiple Spencer’s belts and necklaces.

Everyday outfit: black fishnet top with a black fitted tshirt over it, black baggy pants. Multiple finger rings. Multiple belts and waist bands.

Sally Williams

Face: circle shaped face, slightly downturned nose, wide green eyes. Small lips, lil bit of a chubby face. She does not eternally bleed from the head. Her hair is long and curly past her shoulders. She’s pretty dark.

Physic: a normal, average weighted 8 yr. 4’8.

General Aesthetic: she likes more vintage, boxy styled dresses from the twentieth century, like 1960s European box dresses inspired by Iggy and kids dresses from the 20s. She actually really likes the vintage youth outfits Bc of Shirley Temple. She LOVES Shirley Temple.

Everyday outfit: a pink and white designed dress that pleats at the bottom. Black Mary janes and white socks. She carries a small white clutch that slings across her torso. Her hair is in a long braid.

Laughing Jack

Face: pale as a mf, triangle shaped face, high cheek bones, cone nose, black hooded shaped eyes. Sharp ass jawline. Small forehead. Hair is shorter and more curly.

Physic: toned as an mf but SCRAWNY, like he’s dangly and flexible. It’s scary and arousing. He has no cake tho, no boobs either. He’s very lightly defined but that is IT. 6’9

General Aesthetic: likes the David Bowie Jareth Labyrinth aesthetic, kind of similar to EJ, but not really. He just also really likes poets shirts and vests. He loves dressing sort of Royal or regal. HE LOVES to wear baggy button ups but he NEVER buttons them up all the way 😏

Everyday outfit: I feel like his main outfit hasn’t changed much, the only thing I see him changing is the wraps around his waist possibly changing to a corset instead for his convenience.

(I’d like to remind that Lazari doesn’t have assignments as she is not a pasta, so her everyday wear is less convenient.)

Lazari

Face: tan, dark brown straight hair (occasionally pink), square shaped face, Roman nose, bow shaped mouth, thicc brown brows.

Physic: depends on her age she changes physically. But she’s probably like average in all ages, just less lean and a little chubbier. Height ranges from 4’11 to 5’8

General Aesthetic: colorful and a little childish. She wears overalls and paints on her pants a lot. Think of her like 2019 in a nutshell. She wears mom jeans and Angel tops and bucket hats. Hates crocs tho. All of her jeans have some 90s cartoon character painted on them.

Everyday outfit: a black Spider-Man tshirt with black overalls cuffed at the bottom. Red converse, fun silly socks, her hair in a long braid.

Jason the Toymaker

Face: diamond shaped face, pale, Roman nose, shoulder length bright red hair. Bright green eyes. Kinda got that Jareth haircut. Sharp ass jawline. Thin nicely shaped eyebrows. The makeup does not come off.

Physic: triangle. Slutty man waist. Not that toned tbh but he has enough. HES GOT SOME NICEE BONEY HANDS. His arms have decent strength and buff ness, but it’s rlly not that obvious. 6’8

General Aesthetic: old clowncore ig. Or like fantasy 1800s boyfriend aesthetic. He wears mostly beige or rained colors tbh and then a dash of black and red. Otherwise he makes up his outfits in abstract shapes and styles.

Everyday outfit: his usual tbh, bro has not changed much.

Zero

Face: square shaped face, wide eyes, no cupids bow shaped lips. Completely black eyes. Completely white hair that goes just past her jaw. Messy hair. Has stitches on the side of her mouth.

Physic: broad shoulders, smaller breasted, not much of a different with her waist. Does have low hips, like a long torso with shorter legs. 5’9

General Aesthetic: crust punk. Wears shit that is torn up and dirty. Lots of DIY and ripped up tights. Low rise black skinny jeans. And cropped shirts that go like just under the boob.

Everyday outfit: cropped black ripped jacket, plain black tshirt and lowrise shitty ripped skinny jeans and black combat boots. Under her ripped jeans is her striped ripped stockings.

Homicidal Liu

Face: slightly upturned nose, still has the stitches on his face, green eyes. Lighter brown neck length hair. Kinda has like a slight wolfcut tbh. A lil tan.

Physic:I feel like he’s a lil buff. Like 5’9-5’10. Not as buff as Jeff. Has some thiccness tho mostly in his shoulders tho so he’s more toned than Jeff.

General Aesthetic: spider noir energy. He loves trench coats and business pants. No matter what he’s always wearing black gloves. He’s always wearing business shoes too.

Everyday outfit: black turtleneck and black trench coat with black pants and black knee boots. He has patches on his coat with holes in it, but they’ve been patched up with his striped scarf, same with his pants. His main fit is patched together with his old scarf.

Nina the Killer

Face: triangle shaped face, olive skin tone, button nose. Curly black hair (often straightened) with purple and pink streaks, thicc upturned lips. Her scar is healed, but still very open like Jeff’s. Her eye situation depends on her state of mind.

Physic: 5’4, pretty skinny and toned. Mostly proportionate. Aight sized boobs and butt, generally just dainty idk. Built like the girl from house of 1000 corpses.

General Aesthetic: risqué Monique Chabot in post war France. She wears short skirts, only cropped tshirts and small dresses. She does not get cold at all omg. A lot of times she’ll wear heals or platforms. Never flats or converse tho anymore.

Everyday outfit: platformed knee high boots, black tights with black thigh highs overtop, a black and pink plaid miniskirt, a black crop top that’s a random band tee. A fluffy cropped black jacket that’s zipped up halfway, for style purposes. Fluffy earmuffs if it gets cold and her hair in an emo high ponytail.

Candypop

Face: oval shaped face, hella pale, Grecian nose, heart shaped lips tbh, almond shaped purple eyes. His hair is still the long pretty blue color as always, always up in a ponytail.

Physic: built exactly like LJ but more meaty, like he’s got more toning on his thighs and legs and stomach. Like he looks a lot healthier than LJ for sure. His outfit definitely makes his muscle pop a lot too 😏 6’6

General Aesthetic: he wants to be Ramona flowers, but he literally can’t Bc he can never find men clothes that is like hers.

Everyday outfit: tbh, his outfit has NOT changed like at all otherwise in color scheme. When his hair was a light green, his outfit became more warmer toned b4 he grew out of that phase and went back to his OG look.

Kate The Chaser

Face: square shaped face, round white eyes, black messy hair just barely past the shoulders, small lips, high cheekbones, Roman nose. No brows, they are drawn on.

Physic: a little thicc, broad shoulders and broad hips. I’d say a wide hourglass figure, but she’s like hella muscular. She has a proportionate amount of ass. 5’6

General Aesthetic: she wants to look like Siouxie, very 80s goth. Allison from the breakfast club energy. She loves wearing long skirts with big sweaters and doing the beehive hair. She loves scarves too and has a hella collection.

Everyday outfit: black wide legged jeans with a billowy maroon sweater and black combat boots. Sometimes she’ll add one of those long black detective jackets, but that’s off missions.

Eyeless Jack

Face: grey skin, Grecian nose, rectangle shaped face, high cheekbones, medium sized lips. Split tongue. Almond shaped black eyes. His hair is dark brown and somewhat long and wavy/curly. Medium thicc arched brows.

Physic: 6’7 and very strong. He’s not ripped like bulging, but he is definitely defined. He’s got ass and thighs, his waist isn’t as small as Dr Smileys, but there’s still a medium difference between his shoulders vs his waist.

General Aesthetic: he wants to be cottage core so bad, like the poets shirt and tunics. He does wear cream colored tunics and billowy pants. Tho sometimes on special occasions he dresses like a basic bitch. He’ll get out the tight business pants and black button up.

Everyday outfit: a black button up, black jeans and navy blue converse. He wears one of those chest strap things tho that carries his scalpel and other weapons. He wears a black leather jacket too <3

Dr Smiley

Face: pale, dark red eyes, tiny pupils. Shoulder length, fluffy black hair. Diamond shaped face, Roman nose, thin lips. Defined jaw. Johnnie Gilbert looking guy. Thin arched brows.

Physic: lean and tall. He’s got broad shoulders and an itty bitty waist fr. He’s bony af tho (except for the thighs,) he’s got NO cake. No junk in the trunk for him. 6’1

General Aesthetic: professional emo/dark academia. He’s ALWAYS wearing black turtleneck and dress pants. He always has a red satchel too.

Everyday outfit: he still wears his black medical mask and white doctors coat, underneath that though he wears a black short sleeved turtleneck, so his arms are out when he’s not wearing his coat 😏 his pants are just basic dress pants tho. Aside from the shirt, he wears basically the same thing he always has.

The Real Captain Hook Disney Movie?

You know what Disney Live Action Remake (ish) we really need: Captain Hook!

Peter Pan was actually a phantom that lured kids to Neverland like the Pied Piper, made them forget about their parents and want to party on Neverland forever, and killed them when they grew up or missed Mommy!

But who wants to go home and get old when Jeremy Sumpter is whispering dreams in your ear?

Captain Hook was a child that escaped and becomes Peter's enemy because his childhood was taken away, and he tried to stop him from kidnapping and murdering more children. And the only portrayal of that story that I’ve seen that even comes close to touching Peter Pan's dark roots was Once Upon a Time! And Peter Pan was Rumpstiltskin’s father in that version! As a diehard OUAT time, the show should hold a huge credit for giving us the closest potrayal to the real Peter Pan that we’ve ever gotten, and even then, there wasn’t a real focus on the rivialry between him and Killian (Hook) since it leaned more into the father-son dynamic the show set up.

Robbie Kay did awesome btw, his Peter was chilling and absolutely none of my fondness for the Disney version carried over, I hated this kid's guts!

(Oh yeah, disclaimer before I go on: no I’ve never seen Robin William’s Hook, I was too young when it came out and I never got around to seeing it, so that one’s probably good, but I’m not sure how it potrays Hook, please don’t kill me hehe)

Disney is probably the biggest influence of making Peter Pan known as a mischievous cutiepatootie that just loves to have fun, and doesn’t want to become an adult because he thinks you can’t have fun anymore as an adult. And I totally adore that version of him. Unfortunately, Disney decided to make Hook into an incometent bumbling baffoon, which I do get in a sense because essentially he was ripped from his family at a young age and never really got to grow up and mature in a conventional sense, get his full education etc, but, man he was no match for Peter at all! If Peter Pan is supposed to be so difficult to best, it should be because he's a clever quick-witted trickster, not because his opponent is so pathetically dim-witted and easily defeated! It takes away from both of their characters a little. We're supposed to believe Hook become a captain of anything by any other means than "the least dumb pirate so captain by default?" Really? This man lives on a *boat* and jumps into his crew's arms when he hears a crocodile or octopus nearby!

Bruh! You're a pirate! 😐

Granted he has clever moments like consoling a dejected Tinkerbell and getting her to reveal the Lost Boys' hideout, and in Return to Neverland he (almost) successfully manipulates Jane into trusting him. But even then, it's doesn't take a ton of sharp wit to use a child's naivety and a recently scorned fairy's notorious jealousy against them. Not that I've tried.

But anyway, if Disney wants a remake idea that isn’t note-for-note from the animation, showing Captain Hook’s side of the story a-la-Maleficent I think would be a good move, showing that Hook really was the good guy all along, give him actual leadership skills, nautical knowledge, swordsman skills, etc, play around with the balance between holding onto your childhood and developing maturity, go into origin stories about Peter having a terrible relationship with his mother and choosing to leave her for eternal youth in Neverland, vs. Hook having a wonderful mother that he misses every day, and his childish tendencies are because he was ripped from his mother's care before he was able to learn how to face fears like losing your hand to a crocodile. Maybe Hook sacrifices his childlike innocence and loses the ability to use pixie dust and escape Neverland because stopping Peter from doing the same to more children is more important than his return home. Let the bitter irony of growing up being both the only way to defeat Peter and reason Hook will never see his mother again callous over his innocent young heart and make him more and more pirate-like out of desperation to escape, and he starts letting things slide that used to keep him awake at night-like nearly leaving Tiger Lilly for dead in a cave filling with water- because the end justifies the means: Hook had to defeat Peter. That boy took his mother away from him, and anyone who stands with Peter-Tinkerbell, mermaids, three Darling children who have trusted him- is the enemy. Fuel Hook's rage towards Peter because they'll never see eye to eye on loving the people who raised you, and the absolute frustration of everyone in Neverland being in love with Peter, and the unintelligent band of swashbuckler thieves are his only aid in bringing Peter Pan down. Hook dances on a line between noble cause and pure revenge, until eventually, the other pirates offer him a leadership position: Captain. This authority will be the death of his youth, ensuring Hook is trapped on Neverland forever, but this way, Hook is the only way there will be no more Lost Boys and no more innocent children crying for their mothers before Peter kills them.

Maybe show children viewers that the world doesn’t always works as Kids vs Adults like they think. There are good adults and bad kids, and a live action Captain Hook that harkens to the orginal folktale could be a great way to be more original with the live action adaptations this time around. I don't know, I'm just tossing ideas around.

I know Disney just dropped Peter Pan and Wendy, so making Peter the villain is probably nowhere near becoming an idea Disney would consider creating, but hey, I can dream. And I really don’t mind seeing Peter as a immature yet lovable scamp at all. I just think Hook’s story would be a good way to give Disney fans something more original. With the exceptions of less popular Peter Pan movies and shows, Hook probably, and what I think 2015′s Pan would’ve tried to do if it wasn’t too bland to get a sequel greenlit (man I would’ve kinda loved to see Garret Hedlund as full fledged Hook and not prequel cowboy Hook or whatever was going on, none of that movie made much sense regardless.)

Many many adaptations have chosen not to stay true to the source material and pander to kids because “Kids Rule!” (sorry that sounds so 90s, I’m a milennial!) so maybe this can give Disney something creative and original to give to fans who don’t feel that’s what they’ve been getting from Disney lately.

*Thor: Love and Thunder SPOILERS*

Here's part 2 of my thoughts on this movie.

Stormbreaker is sentient in this movie like Mjolnir.....SINCE WHEN?!?! The weapon never showed signs of being sentient in Infinity War nor in Endgame, so why now in Love and Thunder is it sentient here?! I'll tell you why. It was for an unnecessary plot point of having the ax be jealous of the hammer cause Thor wanted to call Mjolnir and Thor has to talk to Stormbreaker to reassure it that the ax isn't getting replaced.....that's why! 🤦‍♀️

Jane being Mighty Thor was actually cool to see. I'm surprised that she can fight in that form cause I didn't think she had experience in combat. Must've been something granted by the hammer.

Speaking of the hammer, apparently Thor put an enchantment on Mjolnir to protect Jane when she needs it...oh okay! Apparently, Thor can do that. Maybe he wasn't aware he can do that, but I don't know.

Oh yeah, how the two broke up. It was a "Dear John" letter....I'm not kidding, Jane wrote a breakup letter to Thor and left. Y'know, I didn't mind learning how the two broke up, but there was a nice deleted scene in Thor: The Dark World with the two and it was more serious and emotional than the scene we got in Love and Thunder. I wish that was where the Thor and Jane broke up cause that came off more amicable than the official breakup.

There's a place called the Shadow Realm which is where Gorr is hiding with the kids he's taken. Now, there is a Shadow Realm in the comics, which contained the Soul Masters and I think Knull and the symbiotes reside there too, but I could be wrong with that. But, in the MCU, it's just a barren planet of infinite darkness. Everything's black and white, no color. Also, every time the Shadow Realm gets mentioned in this movie, I think of Yu-Gi-Oh! 😆

Russel Crowe as Zeus....oof....big oof. I don't know if it's because of the actor or if this is how Zeus is supposed to be portrayed in this movie, but Zeus was just....yeah. Well, they definitely set him off to be a future antagonist. And, he's an @$$hole here, which honestly shouldn't be a surprise cause he's an @$$hole in Greek mythology.....also a grapist (minus the g). His accent....I'm not sure if his accent was supposed to be a Greek accent, but it was something.

Where the hell are the other Greek gods? Where is Hera, Zeus' wife?! Cause I'm pretty sure she wouldn't be okay with her husband having a harem(?) with him during that meeting. Also, are those men and woman gods too or are they mortals? And, why did they let Valkyrie take the lightning bolt?! They just stood there and stared at Valkyrie, and one of the woman got a kiss on the hand. I shouldn't expect much from this movie, but I can't help but ask these questions.

Speaking of the kiss on the hand, that's basically all you get with Valkyrie interacting with another woman. If you're expecting to see more of her bisexuality in this movie, I'm sorry but that's not gonna happen. A kiss on the hand and her talking about her maidens is all you're gonna get. Also, Korg at end gets a husband named Dwayne (get it, cause he's made of rocks....hahaha) so he's gay. I think that's all the LGBTQ+ representation this movie has, or I may have missed some.

And now the elephant in the room, Thor accidentally being stripped by Zeus. Now, I don't mind fanservice, but I'm probably one of the few people that got weirded out from seeing this scene (once Chris Hemsworth's butt was exposed, I immediately looked away). I know there are those that'll love seeing Thor naked, but think about the circumstances that led to that. Thor was forced to be nude in front of a lot of gods and his ex and friends. Sure it was an accident, and later on Thor said that he didn't have a problem with it, but what if he did have a problem with it? What if he wasn't okay with it? It would've been bad if Thor wasn't okay with it if that's the case. I also hope that the actor was okay with filming that scene, btw. Anyway, what if it was Jane or Valkyrie that was forced to be stripped? I know more people would've been vocal if that happened to either female characters. Cause, we live in this double-standard world where it's fine to force male characters in those situations when it's not okay to have that happen to female characters. I personally think no one should be forced in noncon scenarios , whether be male, female, nonbinary, or genderfluid.

Speaking of Jane and Valkyrie, it's really messed up that they thought to wait to help Thor because they wanna ogle at Thor's nude body. Like, I get that Thor's hot, but come on! Again if the genders were swapped, people would be more vocal on why this is messed up.

Korg almost dies....honestly, I would be a bit sad, but I'd move on. It's fine if other people like Korg, I'm just kinda indifferent really.

Zeus didn't die from getting hit by his own lightning bolt. I don't know how he survived that, but he did. Guess it's cause he's a god and him being the God of Lightning wouldn't get killed by his own weapon. Would give a sense of irony though.

When Thor was talking via astral projection or something (courtesy of Axl I think), Valkyrie thought it'd be amusing to tickle his nose with her braid. This was just an unnecessary comedic moment, I think, cause he's trying to talk to the kids and it's a very important task, and Valkyrie's trying to interrupt him cause amusement.

Eternity, in the comics, Eternity was the embodiment of the Seventh Cosmos. Eternity was all that existed along the fabric of time across the entirety of the Multiverse, having been formed to ensure the boundlessness of creation. In Guardians of the Galaxy, it was mentioned that he was one of the four cosmic beings that created the Infinity stones. Here? He's a wishing macguffin. That's his purpose! Come to him? He'll grant you a wish! Well, at least they got his shape right, but that's it. Hell he doesn't even talk.

Speaking of wishes, I'm gonna have to assume that Thanos didn't know about Eternity. Cause if he did, he'd have to get something to summon the bifrost to get to Eternity and have his wish granted to wipe out half the universe. Would've saved a lot of time if he knew. Now, it seems to imply that Thor and Valkyrie heard of Eternity so that got me thinking....why didn't any of them suggest to find Eternity to wish everyone that got dusted away to come back?! Would've saved A LOT of time, time travel wouldn't have been invented, Black Widow and Iron Man wouldn't have died, a massive war wouldn't have broken out, and Captain America wouldn't have gone back to the past! Either those two didn't know, or did know but forgot about it. *sigh*

i filtered out all the good omens posts from my dash but i just finished it last night and so i have no idea if this is an unpopular opinion buttttttttt i was not impressed with this season :(

(this is just gonna be me talking about my thoughts on it)

last season felt so tight! so snappy! we saw the puzzle pieces being laid out and then we saw them fit together!

this season i was shocked i was on episode five because i thought we were still in the exposition phase, because not much of note really... happened?

the twist at the end felt very rushed. there were not nearly enough hints to explain why gabriel and beeelzebub fell in love, it was literally just "oh btw here's the answer to the mystery, k bye".

also, this is my personal pet peeve, but i hate when characters get woobified, and literally all of hell got woobified SO BAD. everyone was just "oh dear oh no what do we doooooo", and it wasn't in a "we just got humiliated in front of heaven and satan himself" it was just, everyone was just kind of pathetic. i wasn't scared by any of the demons. and crowley got woobified too, a lil bit, but at least it wasn't too bad.

especially beelzebub. i felt like s1 beelzebub was actually evil. i felt like s2 beelzebub was just uwu i'm in a bad place teehee.

and honestly i feel like they could cut all the flashbacks in half. the job thing could've mostly stuck to the end bit where he got his children back, maybe a scene or two before that (the blue lizard thing was cute, though). the graverobbing was mostly alright, although crowley being drunk really dragged on. the magic show one was the worst specifically because it felt like it ruined the moment from last season :(

maggie and nina also could've been cut in half. or at least, their story could've been their own story, not just used as a mirror for crowley to realize he needed to make a move. especially when beelzebub and gabriel were also a mirror for him to make a move. i would've liked it better if they instead told the pair of them off for meddling with their personal lives and went their separate ways.

(also i didn't neeeeeed nina to talk about everything everything from before, but if they weren't even connect her to her past at least a little bit, why use the same actor)

(also? it would've been way cuter if, plot twist, the jane austen thing did nothing for nina and maggie, but did work on crowley. no "hey look at what these other people are doing", just "look at how special my angel is")

i did like aziraphale's ending, though. i know a lot of people were heartbroken by it (that much slipped past my filters) but as a story device, that was kinda cool. it did feel like it could've been more midseason than finale thing. it would've been cooler if his flashbacks to learning real world morals vs heavenly morals were juxtaposed with him actually having some say in heaven. you could still have him choosing to "make a difference" up there at the end of it, because the dude has spent thousands of years being told that that's the right thing to do.

and then it would be even more heartbreaking for crowley, feeling like he's lost him. as it was, i honestly wasn't really moved by the kiss at all. sorry. the way it was framed felt oddly fanservice-y.

anyway. i still enjoyed the show, the humour was still enchanting, and i love the way it critiques power structures and the idea of "good". but the overarching plot this season was. just not impressive to me.

Lonely Tim in the archives time

Okay so this is part two of the Timothy Lukas au rant XD An au where Tim gets adopted by Peter lukas when he's around 8. He and Danny were adopted by different people.

Here's the context on how Tim grew up you don't need it for this post as this post is focused on the institute and the archives but it gives some context involving danny ^^

Anyway here's me explaining more of this au XD

Okay so after the incident where Tim saves Danny from the circus, Danny is rightfully scared and terrified. So Tim does his best to comfort his brother but being a lonely avatar that just sacrificed some of the circus' dancers does not make it easy. Danny begins to worry about what's going on since his brother is just a normal person raised in a rich environment right?

The call he gets from a person Tim called grimaldi over the phone didn't help calm his nerves.

So Danny begins to look for more on his brother and begins to worry he got replaced by something supernatural or became a monster in the time they hadn't had contact.

He finds some stuff and urban legends which causes him to become suspicious that Tim has been lying to him. Especially when he learns about the rumours and stories surrounding the Lukas family and specifically the tundra which Tim mentioned was his father's ship. So he ends up joining the magnus institute as a researcher to figure out what's going on despite Tim trying to discourage it.

That's when he find out that Tim is Elias stepson, more reason not to trust Tim added to the pile.

Tim visits and helps the institute out often enough that he's considered an honorary employee of the institute even before Danny joined it. He often brings new artifacts, comes to bring information or a statement giver but he also just visits the institute to see elias.

He's known as Lukas Jr by most people and is seen as a bit weird due to his tendency to talk a lot. When it comes out that Danny and Tim are brothers Danny often apologises for Tim's behaviours.

Still Danny does his best to act normal since he doesn't want Tim to get suspicious of him.

Then Danny gets assigned to be an archival assistant for Jon by elias. Tim is absolutely furious at that when he finds out, immediately going to elias the next day and punsbing him in the face. (@4bsent-damascus made a great one shot about this btw ^^)

After that Tim introduces himself to the archive crew, accidentally talking too much (which danny apologises for, Martin and sasha both don't mind). Jon is annoyed at the interruption so Tim offers to take everyone to lunch in a restaurant he likes. Danny tries to deny since he knows how this ends.

At the restaurant Martin, sasha and Jon realize how expensive this place is and immediately worry that Tim could easily get fired even though Tim just meant it as a friendly gesture and not a powerplay. (Later on they assume he could easily pay to get them fired)

Behind the scenes Tim works to keep Danny and his new friends safe since he cares or him. Martin isn't stuck by Jane as long as in canon although Tim does let her go since elias asked him to do so and he owed elias a favour. Makes sure the table with the not them is extra secure so sasha doesn't get replaced when the worms attack.

Tim still keeps everything about the fears a secret though until Jon compels him since he knows how dangerous it is and doesn't want to hurt the few people he feels like he has genuine connections with besides his dad.

So that's until where I thought about so far

I do have a couple of extra notes though ^^

When Gertrude was the archivist he got along with Michael and Eric sometimes babysat Tim

Gerry and Tim know eachother, Gerry doesn't trust Tim but they don't hate eachother. They could even be called friends.

Elias only finds out about Tim when Peter comes one day with Tim saying he couldn't find a babysitter for him.

i was thinking of making the glasses gang have a similar "royal people scattered out due to political troubles" but i thought thatd be boring, so instead theyre connected to the bakers guild, jane being the reluctant heir to the empire of dough, secretly dreaming of going off on adventures with a beautiful companion, and john being the rebellious younger child who fell in love with magic and went out with his botany savvy witch cousin to learn its properties. that cousin is jade. her branch of the family broke off the guild a long long time ago and runs a small potions powders and general magic substances store in a secluded corner of the city. jake was a jester, since his gift of plat mincing isnt as strong as jades, even going to bard school so he could entertain better, but when jade and john left for a "magic family adventure" he got inspired and left on his own adventure too. jade is a witch, and she knows mountains about plants and their properties, but shes also an inventor. her tinkerings mostly focus on meshing plant magic with her inventions and its pretty fun. her backstory is a mess i havent figured out yet. sorry jade fam

also ive been thinking: how should i caracterize the kingdoms/the continent? my current thoughts are derse alternia prospit skaia, all separate kingdoms, but idk what i do with them. i want derse and alternia to be more to the north, and prospit and skaia to the south. like maybe derse is this cold sad island full of bitter peop- no thats just england. hm.

currently what i want to do with them is make prospit a seaside kingdom with a strong marine economy, like if italy and portugal had a baby or something. and then derse and alternia could be colder kingdoms, alternia torn in war, and derse taken by plague and a batshit insane monarch. i have a clearer visual picture of prospit+skaia tbh, i think their conflicts are a lot more internal like lords keep doing stupid shit and theres no heir to the throne, plus their grip on the skaian queen is wavering so uh oh, no more easy on land trade route ! man im just reimagining that one time portugal didnt have an heir so the spanish king was like "thats mine now" took over their everything and exploded the contract the portuguese had with the dutchmen (sugar stuff) like thay could very easily be what happened between derse prospit skaia (minus the colonialism cus i dont wnat that in my fictional fantasy homestuck reimagination) derse&skaia had a trading contract Something happened at the skaian court prospit said Yoink and derse (who hates prospit) imediatly cut the deal so now everything is Like That and alternia is bound to becoming a battlefield when tension blows over. i dont know political shit isnt my forte i hated that history lesson

lisa, honey, is the end of an era I FINISHED TEEN WOLF

honestly i can't believe it, it's been quite the journey and i wasn't ready for the end, i miss my characters what am i gonna do help

i was waiting for taylor's announcement and decided "ok, this is it, i'm gonna finish it" AND I DID AND I'M DEVASTATED

first of all, the very ending, when scott says "they're my friends... my pack" and they all walked together i was bawling my eyes out, i got so attached to all of them, i couldn't help it. i also cried SO MUCH when theo took that boy's pain because now he cares 😭😭😭😭 it was so emotional i was silently screaming on the couch

malia and scott trying to learn how to fight without seeing was incredible and i was shocked when deucalion died. peter and derek came wich was great because i missed them! OH, CHRIS ARGENT AND DEREK HALE IN BRAZIL, I SCREAMED SO LOUD, I CAN'T EVEN EXPLAIN.

the plot for 6b was really interesting btw, how fear can turn people into killers, there's a similar plot in supergirl and it's one of my favorite seasons. also, monroe was disgusting, everytime she showed up i was like "oh god, here we go again", the way she's a guidance counselor and talks about killing kids like it's killing a mosquito, she was terrible. and gerard... that man is the devil, that's all i'm gonna say

lydia and malia in the morgue was one of the best scenes of these last episodes for me, when lydia is like "pfff there's no way i'm gonna touch-" and malia just grabs her hand and place it on the corpse, i laughed so hard. i love their friendship.

now can we talk about the way that scott literally clawed his own eyes out to stop the anuk-ite from turning him into stone, i almost died. he's such an angel, he's just genuinely such a good boy i love him so much, i wanted to hug him so badly. the way malia had to kiss him later to trigger the healing process, it was really cute too.

i just think that they did my girl dirty in the last episode, lydia didn't do anything, i was sad. they spend all this time saying how her scream is extremely powerfull and everytime we get to the big fights, she never uses it. i mean, she saw malia turned to stone and literally disappeared until it was time to help scott with the eye thing, i was really upset about it

and of course, stydia. i think they forgot they made it canon, there's no other answer. i don't think they even interacted in the last episode, we were robbed. but at least stiles came back, i literally screamed when he showed up in his jeep, my dad was laughing at my excitement

chris and melissa are a great couple, i loved it for them. but i'm also curious about the movie because with allison coming back, this is going to be a gossip girl situation, but i'm here for it.

the nogitsune saying scott failed allison also broke my heart, i think i cried more than anything while watching the finale lol

well, i guess that's it, at least that's what i could remember. please tell me your thoughts, now that i'm done i'm dying to know! and about jane eyre, i'm reaching the end, she's in the moor house. she just got better and is bonding with the two other girls!

you finished teen wolf!! dear lord it hurts. from the season 6a ending alone i was absolutely devastated, i remember i literally had to go walk around outside for like half an hour because i couldn't take it. read into that as you will.

also, let's talk about theo's character development!! that's how you do it. he could take the boy's pain bc he had grown so much!! still makes me lose it.

no actually scott mccall deserves the world and i will never shut up about that. he is one of the honest to god best tv protagonists i've seen because he's so unselfish and kind it's insane. the clawing the eyes out thing was absolutely brutal and it killed me when i saw it.

yes, lydia was totally misused! it still bothers me that they waited so long to develop her banshee abilities and then she only used them once and twice. she could have been so powerful if she was allowed to be, which is so annoying. and yess the stydia agenda was kind of sidetracked throughout the entirety of that show. they loved teasing it but didn't actually want to show it lol.

i am fascinated to see how the teen wolf movie deals with allison. i loved that the show kept referencing her- i feel like it's super common to have a show that kills off a beloved character and then just never brings them up again? glad that wasn't the case here, but yeah allison somehow coming back from the dead is going to be bizarre.

i love your takes!! i'm so glad you liked the show, and would love to keep talking about teen wolf + future shows if given the chance. teen wolf is honestly one of my favorite shows because i felt such a strong wave of emotions throughout the entirety of it. love it and love you!!

Random thoughts about Cooking Crush ep 2:

Dishes shown in the series: pretty much the same as ep 1 but I also saw a Thai version of spring rolls and maybe sweet and spice chicken.

▪️I really like Ohm's character in this series. I feel like Ten is a nice person. He is really passionate and I pretty much agree with him on his take about the art of cooking (as he called it). He stays calm and nice when Prem made him taste unpleasant food. I think he was also really forgiving when Prem came back to ask him if he still wanted to learn cooking from him. Thankfully, he is also rich and eager to learn because I would never agree on the price Prem is trying to charge him to teach him. I looked online and 50,000 baht is almost 1 438 dollars or around 1300 euros. That's freaking expensive! I would never pay that amount of money for a cooking class made by a 3rd year student in culinary school.

▪️Prem was a bit annoying. I don't like this kind of character. It is lucky he is played by Gun. It's the first time I prefer the character played by Off than the one played by Gun. It's usually the opposite. Despite how his relationship started with Ten, I believe Prem appreciate him by the end of the episode. It must not be easy to live Prem's life. He wants to be a cook but his culinary talent is not recognized in his school. He wants to repay his grandma's kindness and also wants to help his sister after she lost the money (btw who goes around with that amount of money in his or her wallet?!). However, I feel he is crazy and a bit untrustworthy to try to get back that amount by using Ten's eagerness and silliness.

▪️They got cute moments together when Ten was checking Prem's insta and mistakenly liked his picture (He spent an awful amount of time zooming on his picture... for someone who isn't romantically interested yet). Their time in the market was okay too but not memorable.

▪️ Let's talk about Dynamite and Fire... It's still very painful to watch. I don't understand that no one really calls out Dynamite's behavior. They used the word stalking but his friends didn't really tell him how bad it was. His excuses are quite weak. I understand why Fire gets angry. I wouldn't like it too if anywhere I go, I would see my stalker's face. I believe the screenwriter should have find a better way to make these two interacts. Jane was totally clueless about all of this during her date with Fire. I didn't feel any sparks between them. It's probably intentional since Dynamite and Fire are supposed to end up together. Will they let Jane be alone by the end of the series? I kind of want her to end up with Prem's sister now.

▪️I wasn't expecting Blond Guy (Metha) to be a friend of Ten and Fire but I guess I should have.

That's it for this episode. I felt like nothing really happened. It was a bit long for this outcome (Prem agreed to teach Ten). I'll see if the next episode is more interesting. I was also disappointed that we didn't learn about other Thai dishes.

Still thinking of that thor is the jotun one au.

Odin is having A Manly Mental Breakdown™ about lokis death. Hes being suuuuuper paranoid about his special weapons (and weapons in general) and how theyve gotta hide them bc what if thor or frigga touch them and instadie too??

The w3 will stage treason bc their king is trying to get rid of their military **while on the brink of war**

Frigga somehow convinces Odin to give back the casket. Odin just. He feels soo guilty about lokis death that actually invites laufey to sign the peace treaty & get the casket back. War prevented 👍 except... Laufeys oldest has stayed bc he wants to be a protocol instructor and what better chance to be well off than work on the aesir-jotun relationships? Welp he kind of notices the MASSIVE commotion that is lokis funeral. And tells on his dad. Jotunheim declares war.

Meanwhile thor is having A Mental Breakdown too :D since he has no powers he looks like a jotun. He does get found by jane and co and they keep him at their place bc wtf thats an alien they are smart enough not to put them through the medical system and get him got by the government.

Somehow he is convinced he needs to seduce jane w his "new body" (not really, hes just too self concious about it -always has been- and has watched beauty and the beast back on asgard and thinks it is a valid reason "to break the spell" -there is no spell-). He learns of his hammer over the local radio/podcast/tv and thinks his hammer will "break the curse" (it does not)

The us gov is already onto him bc they live in a fucking desert, how come jane&co start bulk buying parkas off amazon all of a sudden??

Events of thor happen, but this time is Frigga the one that goes to meet him. She tells him that Odin has died and Loki is king. The jotuns have had him perma-banned from asgard. Thor cries. Frigga disappears. Thor starts getting experimented on the moment she leaves.

W3 are planning to go rescue thor when whoops a full jotun invasion is going on. Odin tries to send them to the dungeons, but since the guards do not have any weapons the w3 kiiiind of get them off quickly.

Frigga tries to stop them through a MASSIVE guilt trip. Bc wow they are kind of actually deserting the army during an actual invasion. Heimdal is here to help tho, so he freezes her over. Turns out heimdal is half jotun. In fact, he is odins half brother on the jotun side. Frigga... Kind of dies? So they gotta keep moving.

They get sent to earth through a cool battle sequence and heimdal fills them in the jotun!Thor situation... Which now they know they HAVE to get in order to calm laufey down (who doesnt know how """his son loki""" has died so he is also kind of grieving his "dead son" yet again)

Now they get into some spy shit. Heimdal is a great help btw he can see where thor is, and he is smart enough to have stolen gungir before leaving asgard. He saw odin having a mental breakdown about the spear and took it after he left.

Idk i am inspired i may write some more in the afternoon 👍

Watched the Doctor Who episode from yesterday and oh my GOD

Toymaker is right, Donna's the one with balls in that duo lmao. This feels like a good set-up instead of a close of the storyline so that's gonna be good I bet. Especially since the gold tooth that is the Master just got picked up by someone.

LOVING the new Doctor already. They seem like fun!

AND AND AND

I had no idea who the Toymaker was going into this, and I'll be honest, I was expecting a different method of defeating him, but the game of catch was pretty dramatic I guess. I thought they were gonna go down the road of the Doctor learning that fun is so necessary and joy is so powerful and whatever, that they defeated the Toymaker by just fucking going with it. Defeat the Toymaker by playing the game and enjoying it, thereby winning because giving up would be silly when you're having fun. Just beats the shit out of Toymaker cause he's suddenly not having fun and the stakes are so high and oh god HOW ARE THEY ENJOYING THIS?!

But ya know, the focus was more on the Doctor rather than all of that so it makes sense I suppose. An enemy that can only be defeated by play is dope as hell I hope we see that guy again. I fucking love things like that. And they toy shop? Beautiful I love that stuff! I don't wanna say the shop and the whole "only bound by the rules of play" thing were my aesthetic but... yeah lmao I love that shit

AND THE DOCTOR??? FUCKING MITOSIS!!! DONNA WAS RIGHT TEN IS LIKE A WORM LOB A BIT OFF GROW ANOTHER ONE HOW MANY MORE TENS ARE WE GONNA GET??? Lmao and of course he's still pissing off on little adventures with Rose and Mel, and whoever else... And of course he gave the moles forcefields cause he likes the moles and Wilf keeps shooting at them... I don't know if that's illegal btw but I feel like it most definitely is? How'd he get a gun anyway?? Yeah yeah ex-military whatever but like??? Eh??? But god... lmao the Doctor is grounded!

AND THAT EYEBROWS THING WHERE THEY PUSHED HIM OFF A CLIFF LIKE YEAH I BET THEY DID LMAO!!! I guess since the new Doctor is meant to be after the last one should have regenerated, next time we really see Ten is gonna be when he regenerates into the new one (Fourteen? Fifteen??) back in the episode we just saw. Ten gets to go through a normal life, stopping for once and living with his family for a bit, and when he's ready? Away he goes again, ready to take on the universe with renewed energy! I think it's about time we had something with a bit more fun and whimsy and it looks like we're gonna get it like oooo it looks like it's gonna be good! I hope it sticks the landing!

Yeah though... that's absolutely a set-up for something. The Doctor finally gets a god damn break, but yeah there's no way there isn't gonna be a good pay-off to Ten still being around. And lmao Donna... "120k a year and five weeks holiday." "Done." ":O" Like??? Are we getting Donna in Unit??? I hope she gets even more she deserves it. And am I wrong but wasn't that her wages in the parallel world with the time beetle thing?

Can't wait for the Christmas special, I mean... pirate ship?? In the sky?? Yes. Gimme.

alright, so, time to conduct a little experiment

so tl;dr, last month i decided to start learning japanese

why not make a fun lil’ web journal for the process?

so first things first i’d like to note that i am in no way an expert in learning fuckin’ anything, let alone a language, let alone a language that uses an entirely different (set of) alphabet(s) from english. this is all just me navigating a confusing (to me!) new language using whatever free resources i can find. the main reason for this is to just have a neat little journal i can look back on in a few years, but if it helps you have something to follow along with, that’s fantastic too!

likewise, if you’ve got some advice or corrections for me, i’m happy to hear it. i never check my DMs but feel free to shoot an ask!

my plan is to make progress every day and log it here, even a little bit, and the ultimate goal is to be able to read at an N5 level (which is pretty basic!) by the end of the year.

so, a few months to gain a decent foothold in an entirely new language. should be easy, right?

anyway... 8/21/2022. the first day of the journal! i picked up the が particle (which is /fun/ because i picked up は right after memorizing hiragana and katakana which does, broadly speaking, the same exact thing). but there’s a whole month unaccounted for, so let’s get started with a brief overview of what i’ve done, eh?

namely, learning the alphabet! i’m still not totally happy with my recall right now, i can (mostly) put sounds to symbols when i see ‘em, but i couldn’t necessarily write any specific character if it’s not right in front of me. that said, i’m pretty happy with my progress memorizing both hiragana and katakana, so now my two priorities are picking up kanji as i go, and learning the basic foundations of japanese grammar.

it’s interesting, that’s for sure, and breaking out of assuming things should work like they do in english took some learning, but i think i have a decent handle on things for now. essentially, sentences can be constructed sort of like this:

[Additive/Modifier] + [Topic]

i’m still not happy with using the term modifier to describe that first half, but essentially, the very end of the sentence contains the main ‘subject’ of the conversation. for example, 学生, which means ‘student’, would be placed at the end of the sentence.

if i wanted to say i was a student, i could say わたしは-学生-です。

watashi-wa-gakusei-desu.

watashi means ‘i’, ‘wa’ attaches ‘watashi’ to the main topic, which happens to be ‘gakusei’, which means student, so all in all the sentence is... clarifying who is a student!

particularly fascinating is the fact that context can mean certain bits of information can be omitted entirely. for example, if you were asking ‘Jane, how old are you?”

ジャンエさんはなんさいですか。

(the katakana is DEFINITELY not right btw but just roughly)

you could then say...

じゅうきゅうさいです。

which, assuming i have my vocab right, just means ‘nineteen years old’. no mention of jane or ‘i’m’ or any pronouns at all.

there’s also の, which combines two nouns (you could combine わたし with おとおさん (watashi + otoosan, which means father to create ‘my father’, わたしのおとおさん), and も, which allows you to create a ‘yes, and’ proposition. if you wanted to confirm a question, and then add an additional (relevant) answer, you’d throw も in there!

finally, there’s the fact that there isn’t really an equivalent of ‘to be’. if you wanted to say someone /was/ something, you attach だ (da) to the end of a noun. for example, if you wanted to say someone was a person, you’d write 人だ (hito-da). context matters here, too, though, of course. if someone was asking you if you’re doing well, you could use just the kanji for that meaning (元気) . helps make a sentence sound more emphatic, though.

if you’d like to do the opposite, and you want to say something /isn’t/ a certain way, you attach じゃない (janai) on the end of a noun. for example, you could say 人じゃない to say someone /isn’t/ a person, or 学生じゃない would mean someone /isn’t/ a student.

you could say something like

わたしは学生じゃないです。

to say ‘i am not a student’.

and ACTUALLY finally, finally, if you want to use past-tense to imply something /used/ to be something, you attach だった (datta) to the end of a noun. to imply something used to /not/ be something, you use じゃなかつた (janakatta).

わたしは学生だったです。 = i was a student.

ヴァル友達じゃなかったです。= val wasn’t your friend.

gotta say, being able to write those sentences entirely freehand was way cooler than it should’ve been.

anyway, that was a lot. it’s 4 AM and i’m exhausted so i’m going to go to sleep now, but hopefully i’ll be able to keep this up and have a nice catalog of my learning process!

Sure thing!

Before I do that, though, I should warn people that the following meta contains major spoilers for mine and @theoriginalcarnivorousmuffin‘s fic Carlisle and Bella’s Bogus Journey. Fans of that story who don’t want to be spoiled are hereby advised not to click the readmore.

With that out of the way, we have three anomalies about Bella, and the shield is only one of them. These anomalies have the common denominator that they’re all in place to keep Bella safe, one way or another. Put together, these anomalies point to Bella’s gift being something far more elaborate and powerful than a shield.

One note before we begin - we know from Victoria’s gift that Alice isn’t the only precog, as her gift feeds her data based on intel she has no way of attaining. She knows when X location is dangerous, or how she should maneuver Y situation to escape unscathed. I think Bella’s gift works in that same way of utilizing data Bella herself doesn’t have.

Prophetic dreams

Bella has prophetic dreams on four separate occasions in the series, each time giving her vital information. In Twilight her dream tells her Edward is a vampire, in New Moon she is told Jacob is a werewolf, in Eclipse the dream spells out for her that Victoria is the one behind the newborn army in Seattle and that she’s got a Jasper of her own, and in Breaking Dawn she has a dream before the wedding about a vampiric child she must protect from the Volturi. That last dream wasn’t entirely correct, as it told her Renesmée would be a boy (which I think is what led to Bella’s conviction that she was carrying a son), but apart from that these dreams appear aimed to arm and prepare Bella.

Hallucination Edward

If Bella was a normal crazy girl and the hallucinations were more arbitrary, I would be inclined to these hallucinations being just that. However, these hallucinations take the form of the person Bella is most likely to listen to, they appear when she is in danger and not at any other times, and they give sound advice (re: lie to Laurent). Now, these hallucinations have the complete opposite effect, as they make Bella seek danger out instead, but it’s notable.

Shield

Here’s what we know of Bella’s shield:

It shields her from Edward, Aro, Jane, Alec, Kate, Eleazar, Zafrina, and Chelsea. If Carlisle has a gift, she’s shielded from him as well.

It does not shield her from Alice, Jasper, Marcus, Renée, and Renesmée.

It shields her perfectly when she’s human (as opposed to Charlie’s shield)

When she’s a vampire and needs to learn how to project it on the pain of certain death, she makes miraculous strides in a matter of days

To start with the inconsistency in who Bella is protected from and who she isn’t. Chelsea and Marcus have extremely similar gifts, one manipulates relationships and the other sees them. If Chelsea is blocked, Marcus should be too. He’s not. And what blocks Chelsea, but not Jasper? Why is Edward blocked, but not Marcus?

(Tinfoil hat: if Carlisle does have a power, and taking into account what Renesmée can do, then it could in reality be Chelsea wasn’t being blocked by Bella at all, but by Carlisle and Renesmée. All the people gathered on the Cullen side had been exposed to them, and Chelsea failed because she couldn’t undo the effects of their gifts. Given the way I think Bella’s gift works, I think she was able to block Chelsea, but it’s possible that she didn’t need to)

The shapeshifters and the hybrids prove that Alice can be blocked. Why is she not blocked by Bella?

Renesmée is another interesting case. We are told that she’s a shield penetrator, because... well, she penetrates Bella’s shield, doesn’t she?

There is the psychic vs. physical gift argument, but I take issue with that. It only leads to inconsistencies - Jasper, for instance, how is what he does physical? Or Kate, how is what she does not physical? I think that categorization was just that, an attempt by Aro to categorize gifts, and it’s not to be taken literally.

Bella’s shield is inconsistent if she blocks only psychic powers, or based on the way they work.

But if she blocks gifts based on who is a threat to her, or could in any way lessen her odds of survival, suddenly we’re looking at a different equation.

To take the gifts she’s shielded from:

Edward was definitely a threat. If he had seen her mind and seen an average teen girl fawning over his looks, he would have had no reason to grow invested in her as a person. There would only have been her sweet blood, and he would have killed her for it.

To Aro she was a human who knew the secret, and Edward wasn’t going to turn her. Blocking him proved her gift, and gave him incentive to see her survive. Had they met under different circumstances, he might have seen her thoughts.

Jane and Alec are offensive, they go without explaining. So does Chelsea.

Eleazar had to be blocked to see that she had a gift, which was vital knowledge at the time. Without it, she wouldn’t have known she had a gift to train.

Kate’s gift is inherently offensive

Zafrina’s gift was perfect for Bella to practice projecting her own gift, and gave her motivation. If she couldn’t have blocked Zafrina, she would have doubted she could block the Volturi.

Carlisle himself is not a threat to Bella, but Edward is. And to Edward, the whole point of Bella is their epic love. If Carlisle’s gift makes Bella join the Carlisle fanclub, then Edward would no longer be the sole focus of Bella’s attention. More, Bella and Carlisle barely know each other. If they were closer and talked (and I’m just going to plug this fic), it could backfire on Edward (yes I’ll write a post. In a nutshell, though, Carlisle sees very little of the E/B romance and what he sees is only the wholesome stuff) and that’s bad news for Bella.

Now to look at the ones she’s not shielded from:

Jasper poses a threat to her as a vampire who might drink her blood, but his gift does not. On the contrary, his gift is what helps him remember humans are friends, not food. Had Bella been super delicious and a human he could eat without feeling bad about it, that might have been a problem for him.

Alice’s gift helps keep Bella alive. Blocking it would be exceedingly foolish.

Marcus didn’t see what Bella was told he saw, but his gift wasn’t actually posing a threat to her wellbeing. If anything, Edward seeing in his mind Bella’s level of codependence would convince him even further of how epic their love is.

Renée, assuming she has a gift, is not a threat to Bella.

Renesmée actively works to keep Bella alive. Edward wasn’t planning on turning her, and would have kept moving the goalpost. It would have ended in the Volturi running out of patience or Edward finally eating her (My money’s on the latter). With Renesmée, Bella’s life was in extreme danger, but she was doomed anyway. Dying in childbirth meant Edward was forced to turn her.

Then we have what Bella can use her gift for. It does exactly what she needs it to do to stay alive, the best example being when it proves to be so easy to use that she masters it in a week-long crash course.

So, in summation, I think Bella’s gift is ridiculously powerful, and relies heavily on precognition. It blocks anyone who is in any conceivable way a threat to Bella, gives her prophetic dreams when she needs to, and when all else fails it materializes in the form of Edward to yell at her.

This also works with Renesmée’s gift, which appears designed for self-preservation. It appears mother and daughter have variations of the same basic survival gift, adapted to fit what each of them needed to survive their respective life situations.
