X-Men 97 episode 6 *SPOILERS*
Shi'ar Empire/Space
Honestly, I wasn't expecting to see them and get an update on Xavier in this episode cause I thought this was gonna be the full Lifedeath conclusion, so more focus on Storm. But, I think it's nice to see how he's doing.
This is the first time we see Deathbird AKA Lilandra's sister in the X-Men animated series, and I like her look.
Gladiator is such a stoic bad@$$. Ngl, after seeing him fight after so long, Superman popped into my head. I think it was the powerset he displayed.
Ronan and the Kree! I wasn't expecting to see them cause we never had the Kree mentioned or shown in the previous show, so this was a nice surprise. Aldo, it's so refreshing to see Ronan the Accuser in his more comic- accurate outfit. Cause, I've only recently seen him and the Kree in their MCU outfits, so seeing the classics was nice.
Noticed Vulcan during the beginning....kinda awkward cause he's Scott's other brother. Dunno if they'll do anything with that, but then again, they didn't do much with Havok in the previous show.
It's good to see Xavier healthy again, but why hasn't he checked up on the X-Men during that year? Why didn't he let them know that he's okay? Is it because of that black hole?
Didn't know Xavier was interested in being Lilandra's....pet....psychics be kinky.
Xavier talking about Magnus....oh god, when he finds out what happened to him....
Man, even in space, mutants can't catch a break! Xavier gonna be emperor along with Lilandra, and these sunsofbeeches hate it cause he's Terran AND a mutant. Like, can the mutants EVER get anything nice?!
Xavier was willing to forgo his memories on Earth and of his friends and family. Just to be with Lilandra....god dammit, this show really is a soap opera.
Xavier educating the Shi'ar council, Deathbird, Gladiator, and even Lilandra on their system and why it's bad was pretty funny. Dude was going back to being a teacher. And, I thought he was succeeding until....
The vision. Now, he knows what happened to Genosha, and he gotta go back. Good, cause they need him more than ever. I just wish it didn't have to break him and Lilandra up. Like, can we have a good relationship that doesn't end in a breakup, death, or have way too much drama, please?!?!
GAMBIT!!! 馃槶 It still hurts! But, the vision could also be foreshadowing that he'll become Death of the Four Horsemen. And Magneto wasn't there, so does that mean he survived?!
Storm, Forge, and the Adversary
Storm called Forge "my love". She was mad at him earlier, but I guess despite the anger, she loves him too and understood that he tried to help her despite what he did.
The Adversary is spooky. I didn't get how they appeared, but from what the show says, the demon appears to feed on the self-loathing, so they sensed Forge AND Storm and came to them.
Storm's fear of tight spaces comes into play. The Adversary used her fear against her which almost worked. First time Forge was able to banish the demon, despite being poisoned, and the second time, Storm overcame her fears and doubts and got her powers back.
Oh yeah, MISTRESS OF THE ELEMENTS IS BACK!!! 馃ぉ She even got her iconic black outfit with the tiara! I'll miss her classic white outfit, though. And she got her long hair back! No offense to the mohawk.
Shoutout to @stormandforge for talking about how she got her powers back cause I was so confused and sleep-deprived. What makes the most sense was the machine Forge used worked. It's just that she had some kind of mental/psychological block going on with her powers and had to overcome it to reactivate them. Kinda like how Peter lost his powers in Spider-Man 2. As for how she got her outfit, well, Storm, in the very first episode in the previous show, used her lightning to change outfits. So, I chopped it off to that. Yeah, lightning doesn't work like that, but she looks beautiful! The hair was actually what I was most confused about cause she had a mohawk, and suddenly, her hair got long again? I thought some parts of her head was shaved. So how did her change? Same way as the outfit?
Forge is cured, so fingers crossed these two will be together and not end poorly and messy as it did in the comics. Please, I just need one good relationship in this freaking show that isn't gonna end in tragedy.
And she knows about Genosha. God, I really hope she doesn't get survivors guilt over this. But, we need her and Xavier more than ever with what's to come.
The rest
Y'know, it was one thing for Trask to be involved with the massacre, but Mr. Sinister? I wasn't expecting that. I thought it was the FoH or Apocalypse or maybe Nimrod. Either way, I'm mad now that I know who's responsible cause how dare them kill Gambit, Magneto, Leech and the others, and hurt Nightcrawler and Rogue! I really hope that they find a way to finish him off for good and make it hurt like hell!
NIGHTCRAWLER GOT TO BE PART OF THE INTRO!!! 馃ぉ Does that mean he's gonna be finally part of the X-Men? Will we ever get him using his swords? Cause they keep teasing that!
I just wish it wasn't at the expense of Magneto and Gambit's intros. Man, I was bracing myself, and they had to do that and the recap! UGH, IT STILL HURTS! 馃槶
The episodes have really alternated with multiple storylines in this show. The previous one usually focuses on one story at a time.
So, that's pretty much it. Good episode. One more episode left until even more trauma will be inflicted on us cause 8-10 are gonna be a doozy.

Man, this week is not kind to X-Men fans and Critical Role fans. *SPOILERS*
First, Gambit dies to take down the massive Sentinel with an explosion. Then freaking FCG dies to take down Otohan with an explosion?!
WHY?!?! 馃槶
Bruh, this week is so cruel! One turned the enemy into a bomb, and the other became the bomb. Either way, explosions were involved in both scenarios.

X-Men 97 episode 5 *SPOILERS*
The interviews
The reporter seemed nice and doesn't act like a typical controversial one. And, seeing Beast blush was adorable. But, Scott's interview was a doozy. What he said when he lashed out, well....he ain't wrong. I just thought Magneto would be the one to say those things, not Scott. Still, not wrong.
Jean/Scott/Madelyn/Logan drama
UGH! I hate love triangles that bring out so much stress and drama. And, I'm worried that Jean and Scott will break up because of the crap Mr. Sinister pulled. I wasn't expecting Jean to kiss Logan, and it was HIM who told her to go talk to Scott. Despite his feelings, he's still trying to be respectful to their relationship. But, seriously, Jean, why did you kiss him?!
Then apparently, Scott and Madelyn were checking up on each other telepathically, which I get why Jean would be mad at that. But, Madelyn during her time at the mansion WAS Jean and Scott thought that was her! They're the same! At least they were? Then again, they're in contact for a month and Jean kissed Logan once....UGH! I hate this drama. SINISTER THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!
Genosha
Beautiful. It was a paradise for mutants. They deserve this. The gala looked pretty, I liked the statues of Charles and Magneto, I was not expecting the Hellfire Club to be a part of this council cause I don't trust them (especially the crap they pulled in the previous show). Lots of cameos from other characters that I couldn't keep track on, but the place was lovely. It's a shame though on what happened later on....
Nightcrawler
This lovely, precious German Christian man. 馃グ I love Nightcrawler and I'm glad to see him in this show. The original voice actor who played him in the previous show still does a great job voicing him. And, he approves of Gambit and Rogue (adopted sister) being together, so that's extra bonus points. He got a new look compared to his previous one, but I still like it. Then when the massacre happened, I was so worried that he was gonna die. Thank goodness he survived, but I hate seeing him so hurt.
Gambit/Rogue/Magneto drama
I hate this love triangle SO MUCH! We get an explanation on how Rogue and Magneto got together, and I'm questioning how old she was when they first met and whether Magneto was influencing her in a bad way. Either way, still don't like this ship. Even when them dancing looked good animated, I STILL don't like it. Plus, it still doesn't make sense cause they've been against each other in the previous show, where there was no signs of the two having that past relationship.
Anyway, I'm glad Rogue finally told Gambit the truth, and I feel so bad for him. But, he knew what she wanted and how much it hurt, even going as far as to distance himself, which he showed a lot of emotional maturity, so respect to that. But, that thing where he'll lead Genosha if Rogue stays as his "queen"? DA FUQ?! Look, I like Magneto, but I did not like that. Still wish Rogue could've gotten one of those collars to nullify her powers so that she can touch Gambit. Would've solved a lot of drama, just saying.
I was SO relieved though, that Rogue said that he was right, and rejected Magneto, but I wish she could've done that without kissing him right where Gambit can see it. Either way, it seemed like she'll choose Gambit and not stay with Magneto in Genosha, THANK GOD!
So, you think this would be the end of that love triangle right? Well, yes and no? Cause what happened afterwards hurt like hell.
Genosha Massacre
So, a giant Master Mold thing showed up, killing mutants and destroying Genosha. It was cool seeing Cable again trying to stop it and seeing his mom after so long, which is a glimmer of hope but I'll get to that later. So, many people died. Sebastian Shaw, Calypso, Banshee, Marrow, pretty sure that was Dazzler or Moira not sure, and three more that hurt me so much.
Magneto. Okay, I may not like that love triangle, but I didn't hate the guy. Dude was fighting that Sentinel with a train as a whip, that was pretty cool. And, he tried to protect the Molocks. He tried to protect Leech! He got Rogue and Gambit out of the way. What hurt the most was he told Leech not to be afraid IN GERMAN! Again, didn't want him to die. Although, I wished he could've used his magnetism to push the Molocks away like he did with Rogue and Gambit, but nope. They all died!
Leech. Precious innocent Leech. He was just a kid, man! And, he got to hang out with other mutants his age. He was making friends. Only for this to happen. And, not a lot of people talk about Leech and what happened to him. But, I liked him, and that hurt.
And, finally, the one that hurt the most.....Gambit.....Remy.
He went out like a hero. He sacrificed himself to destroy that Sentinel from killing even more mutants. "The name's Gambit, mon ami. Remember it." Well, now we know why this episode is called Remember It, cause it was Gambit's last words. And, if that wasn't enough, Rogue holding onto him, crying over his body, finally able to touch him....only to not feel him.
THAT. FREAKING. HURT. SO. BAD!!! 馃槶 Gambit was one of my favorite X-Men characters, and I legit was crying seeing that end. It really hurt to see that happen to him, but at least he went out saving people. However! There is that slight glimmer of hope! Cable. He tried to go back to stop this, who's to say he won't try again? Time travel shenanigans will happen and he can team up with Bishop and the rest of the X-Men to prevent this from happening. It happened many times before, it can happen here. And, maybe, just maybe, Gambit, Leech, Magneto, and all those people won't have to die. This may the denial talking, but I'll be so pissed if Gambit's dead and he Rogue won't be together for good anymore, cause that would be bullcrap.
God, how am I gonna be okay when we're getting Storm and Forge vs. The Adversary next week?! And, jeez, if things keep up like this, Storm is gonna return to the whole mansion on fire. I can't imagine what her and everyone's reactions are gonna be when they find out about Gambit and even Magneto.
Anyway, good episode. Much better than last week's. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go find a way to cope from all of that.

See, this would've been SO much better to watch! Why couldn't we had that instead?!
Actually, you know what direction could have been way more interesting and engaging to take with the Motendo episode than a forced afterschool special moral lecture?
Magneto and Jubilee forming a connection over having no parents.
I think the fact that Jubilee was a teenager in the US foster care system gets overlooked a lot. The cartoon never talked much about her past, so this could have been a good opportunity to, especially as a chance to get Magneto's head out of his backside and actually connect with the X-Men as people rather than pawns to order around.
The Motendo half-story could have easily been a full episode with actual character depth and the audience wouldn't have to get lectured by the writers about how we should be okay with any changes they make because it's Bad to be stuck in the past.
Also, Magneto playing video games would have been fun.

Gonna have to agree with @elfdragon12 with this one. While I appreciate seeing Jubilee fight and using their powers in much cooler ways compared to the previous 90s show, this so-called lesson she had to learn didn't make sense with the context we got. Honestly, I was way more invested with the Storm/Forge parts of the episode.
How it felt watching the Motendo part of X-Men 97 episode 4:
Tumblr media
When was "being stuck in the past" Jubilee's problem? Wanting to celebrate her big milestone with a trip to the arcade and being frustrated that Magneto said no isn't the same thing. Oh no! The teenager who just barely became legal adult is frustrated by the old man who apparently hasn't figured out yet this is not just a team but a found family! How dare she be so immature!
Seriously, what was Magneto really right about here? Sure, yes, they do need to prepare for Mr. Sinister's eventual strike, however, these are still people who have come together as a family and everyone else wanted to celebrate with her.
Everything else about that story was fine though. The Moral of the Story thing was just really annoying when the only real "moral" problem was that she wasn't taking the immediate situation seriously enough.

X-Men 97 episode 4, here are my thoughts. *SPOILERS*
So, the Motendo part of the episode. I love the classic video game graphics incorporated into the show. It reminds me of Marvel vs. Capcom or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade games. I like seeing Jubilee and Abscissa (beta tester Jubilee) using their powers in new and better ways compared to the previous 90s show and seeing how the fight. I like that Sunspot finally did something for once, even if it was near the end of that part. The references, seeing Spiral and Mojo again, Jubilee and Sunspot kissing, that's fine. Hopefully, this new relationship won't get any unnecessary drama like the other ones have been getting so far.
However....
I was way more invested in Lifedeath Part 1 cause it felt way more important to me, and it was about Storm and Forge, two characters who I like a lot more than Jubilee and Sunspot in the show. Plus, the "lesson" or "moral of the story" in Motendo didn't make sense cause Jubilee just wanted to celebrate her 18th birthday her own way, but Magneto said no. He was the one in the wrong. So where did this "grow up and don't be stuck in the past" lesson come from? Cause she likes playing video games? The rest of the X-Men were totally cool with celebrating her birthday. It was only MAGNETO that didn't approve of going to the arcade, and he's the leader! Honestly, if the moral was properly introduced, this part would've been better.
But with Lifedeath Part 1, I wish it had a full episode instead of half cause it was so damn good. Their bond, the serious tone, the voice acting, the horseback riding, hell I'm shipping them already!
It was a shame that Forge made the original designs for the gun that X-Cutioner used to nullify Storm's powers (even though he didn't make the weapons themselves), which I don't blame Storm being mad at him for that. If the designs didn't exist, she wouldn't have lost her powers. So, that slap was totally understandable. However, I also feel bad for Forge cause he genuinely felt guilty for making them and wants to fix what he did. But, I think in Storm's mind, he's using her for his path of redemption, which she's not okay with. But, they worked something out in the comics, so I'm sure that'll happen here. Unfortunately, they didn't stay together and it got messy in the comics, so fingers crossed that things would be different?
Cause, this is like the third romance I've seen with Storm, and the last two from the previous 90s show didn't work out cause the first one was in a future timeline with Logan that got rewritten, and the other was with an alien king who she just met in a day and turned out to be an evil slaver which she hates. So....third times the charm? Cause Storm deserves love, too.
Also, the cliffhanger ending....FREAKING ADVERSARY!!! Should've known that demon was gonna pop up in that episode if Forge is in it. Seriously, I screaming after seeing that cliffhanger.Just one problem, though.
Tumblr media
WHY THE HELL IS PART 2 NOT COMING OUT NEXT WEEK?! WHY IS IT IN TWO WEEKS?!?! You can't just end it on a major cliffhanger with the Adversary and Storm, and Forge in danger only to go to a completely different episode next week. If the next episode isn't gonna be good or have my boy Nightcrawler in it, then that's some bullcrap.
So, yeah. Liked the episode, but I liked the second half way more and wished it had a full episode.

Yeah, so the Jean we first saw in X-Men 97 is the clone. However, we don't know when the switcheroo happened. Last time Mr. Sinister appeared in the 90s show, he got blown up into pieces, and Jean scattered them across the Savage Lands or the world. So, maybe the switcheroo happened during the timeskip offscreen or after the Phoenix saga?I dunno. Hell, I don't even know if it'll be explained when it happened.
Yeah, with Rogue and Magneto, I never recalled there being a hint of them in a former relationship. The previous show covered Rogue's past, but all her connections were with Mystique. I know some people say it's fine cause it was in the comics, but this show is a sequel to the 90s animated series. It's gotta fit with the continuity. If not, it makes no sense.
So, I watched the first two episodes of X-Men 97 and here are my thoughts.
*SPOILERS*
Pros:
Morph got to do some more cool stuff during the fight scenes.
Gambit in a crop top....what? He's hot and a bad@$$.
Speaking of Gambit, he and Rogue have a lot of scenes together, which is great. I do ship them together, and I just want them to be together already.
I freaking love Storm in this. She's one of my favorite X-Men characters. Her voice after killed it again, we see her leadership and compassion as a team and family member, and she's still a freaking bad@$$. She turned some patches of sand into glass with her lightning!! However, something happens to her which I'll get to in a sec.
Magneto's UN trial. It was well done, and Magneto's speeches were pretty good. Then there's what he did after X-Cutioner tried to shoot him. Like, what the hell, show? Are you trying to make me switch to Team Magneto? Seriously, he was really good so far in the show.
Cons:
Now, I'm never a fan of love triangles unless done right. It was bad enough that we still have that with Jean, Cyclops, and Wolverine (especially since Wolverine and Jean is one-sided), which I thought Logan moved on from that but I guess not, we may get another one with Gambit, Rogue, and MAGNETO! Okay, look, I get the Rogue and Magneto thing was in the comics, but since when was that ever established in the animated series?! I never recalled anything going on between the two in the 90s show nor were there any signs of them used to being an item. If this was to give tension for the Rogue/Gambit romance, there are other ways of doing that. Yeah, it was just confusing and weird to me.
Storm losing her powers. This is gonna be a con for now cause I know she'll get her powers back somehow. But seeing her get shot and losing her powers made me lose my s**t cause how dare you do that to her?! Man, I was hoping Magneto was gonna kill X-Cutioner, and frankly, I wouldn't blame him if he did. Not after what he did to Storm. It sucks even more when you got to see how great she is as coleader, sister, and teammate.
And, now, the questions
Is it gonna be explained why Morph has the changeling look instead of his old one from the previous show?
When did Bishop come back? I like him, but I thought he went back to his timeline.
Was expecting Madeline Pryer to show up, but which one is she? Was there a switcheroo and if so, when did that happen?
Does Magneto have an ulterior motive?
When the hell was Magneto and Rogue a thing in the show?!
Will Logan ever move on from Jean?
Why Sunspot and Jubilee? Cause I wasn't feeling it. Dunno why, maybe it's because of how the Sunspot character acts cause I didn't like him much. Also, was that it from the character?
Why doesn't Rogue take one of those collars to nullify her powers so she can be able to touch someone without harming them?
And, that's all I can think of at the top of my head. Liking the show so far. Hopefully, it doesn't fumble.

X-Men 97 episode 3, here are my thoughts.
*SPOILERS*
Pros:
Goblin Queen got a magical girl transformation sequence. Dunno why this is a pro, but I like it and her outfit. See? A woman looking sexy. Now can the people talking about Rogue's looks can back off now? By the way, Madelyn was actually the Jean we saw this whole time....yeah, I'm gonna get to that later.
The mansion being haunted and the hell pit. The visuals were pretty good on that. I especially liked how each section was showing many of the characters' greatest fears and mess with their insecurities.
Bishop and Cyclops team up which Bishop got to do something cool.
Jean vs. Goblin Queen. It was good. Honestly, I felt bad for both of them Jean was held captive for who knows how long and missed out a lot. Madelyn didn't know she was a clone until Mr. Sinister revealed it to her since she believed to be the real Jean. Then she got brainwashed like a sleeper agent to do Mr. Sinister's bidding.
Forge! He's finally here!
A lot of comic references that worked pretty well.
There was more moments with Morph. He still got involved and despite what he went through because of Sinister, he was still willing to take the X-Men to where he is. However, I thought Morph would do a bit more due to his connection to Mr. Sinister. So, this is kinda a pro and a con to me. I just hope he doesn't get even more traumatized because of Goblin Queen brainwashing him when he was in his Magik form.
Cons:
I'll be honest. I liked the last two episodes more than this one. I think it's because the Madelyn/Goblin Queen storyline from the comics was resolved so quickly. The return of Mr. Sinister, the Jean we saw since episode one was a clone, Nathan going to the future to be cured, Goblin Queen, that all happened and concluded in one episode. Something like this should have some more buildup. Like, be a two-episode or three-episode arc. Many arcs from the 90s X-Men show has lasted for 2-3 episodes, so I thought this was gonna be that. But, I guess not.
Roberto AKA Sunspot was there in this episode, but he didn't really do anything aside from being saved. I thought he left the school, and I don't get why he had to be there when Beast was checking on Jean at the beginning since he's not a member of the team (not yet at least). Maybe he was there to hangout with Jubilee? Well, I just hope that this is building up to him using his powers and develop his character.
The calling herself Madelyn Pryer....when the hell did she come up with her new name?! It felt like it came out of nowhere. She was saying goodbye to Jean, and she's like, "Just call me Madelyn Pryer."......HUH?! You can't just suddenly introduce her new name like that cause it so sudden.
Questions
Will Gambit confront Rogue on her relationship with Magneto and will it go badly?
Again, WHEN WERE THE TWO EVEN A THING?!?! Unless this is a red herring.
When did the switcheroo happen with Jean and her clone? We don't know when so it could've been during the timeskip offscreen.
Is that it from Bishop? Was the point of him being there was to take Nathan to the future to be cured?
What the hell was Morph gonna do with those claws?! I know he can joke around, but hard to reach places?! With those claws?!
How's Forge gonna help Storm get her powers back?
Now that Jean knows how much she means to Logan, Cyclops having a son with a clone who he thought was Jean and knowing that some of the time he spent with her was a lie cause it wasn't Jean, and the last scene where they stood there awkwardly, is there gonna be even more tension between the three? Cause that's gonna be stressful to watch. I blame Sinister if more drama is gonna happen.
Logan's never gonna move on, is he?
And, that's pretty much it.

Oh my god, can we just not?! Just for freaking once, can we not have Captain Carter again? We have Sam as Captain America. Why does he get so little when she gets so much?!
Tumblr media
Were the people in charge of the MCU deaf during What if...? Season 2??? No one cared for Captain Carter back then and literally got sick of her constantly appearing, so what makes people in charge of the MCU think people will want her back in live action??? Especially when we STILL only got Captain America Sam in two MCU things so far (his show with Bucky and the upcoming Cap film) but Captain Carter, who literally just started off as a simple what if character, is getting more shit then him in comparison...

So, apparently, there are some people complaining online about Gambit wearing a crop top because it makes him look gay.
Okay, first of all, crop tops were a thing in the 80s and 90s. Many men wore them, gay or straight. It was a part of fashion. Second of all, who cares?! Gambit looks cool wearing one! He's a sexy, bad@$$ character. Of course, he'd wear a crop top!

The thing about Katara is that she was angry.
She was angry that the Fire Nation killed her mother.
She was angry that her father left them.
She was angry that she was the only Waterbender left in the south pole.
She was angry that the only person her age was her brother, who constantly disregarded her interests and her role in the tribe.
She was angry that what little waterbending she knew, had to be self-taught and how she struggled with that.
she was angry that a twelve year old instantly picked up what had taken her a long time to learn.
she was also angry that her tribe wanted to kick that twelve year old into the wilderness over a mistake.
she was angry over the earth-benders the fire nation had captured and put into a metal box.
she was angry.
And she knew she was angry.
Because she knew her own anger, she was the first to empathize with Aang when he got angry.
And it was because of it she could tell Aang forcing himself to lock his emotions up was not the answer.
Because she knew her own anger, she kept herself under control in the dessert, when everyone else was a mess.
Her anger empowered her. where anger was a tool of self-destruction for firebenders, for her it was what helped her push forward.
It was her anger that freed Aang.
It was her anger that helped her stand to Pakku.
Her anger was her strenght.
