Example of Crisis Management
The process of identifying, assessing, comprehending, and dealing with a problematic issue is known as crisis management.
External causes, such as a natural disaster, a security breach, or false rumours that harm an organization's brand, can all contribute to a crisis.
Companies should build a comprehensive crisis management plan to respond to these situations, regardless of the reason. This will help to safeguard the company's reputation and personnel.
Johnson & Johnson's approach to the Tylenol issue in 1982 has become a model for how a firm may get it right amid a crisis. Seven people were poisoned after eating cyanide-laced Tylenol capsules, the company's most popular product.
Unlike many other corporations at the time, J&J prioritized consumer safety before financial considerations. The corporation collaborated with police to investigate the mystery and offered a reward for any information leading to the culprits of the crime.
The issue also aided the corporation by increasing public trust in the product. Customers who had questioned the safety of over-the-counter medications began to use them again, and Tylenol's market share surged.
Whether you're waiting for a taxi or a bus, every clock ticktock matters. That's why the smartphone app Uber devised the concept of a 'uber' service to eliminate the pain of queuing and simplify travel.
But, cab firms and government officials have criticized the company's controversial business model, which charges drivers extra for peak-hours rides. It also incentivizes fares to climb at peak demand periods, such as New Year's Eve, which has sparked customer outrage.
Employees have also accused the corporation of sexual harassment. And CEO Travis Kalanick was filmed berating a driver.
United Airlines had a big public relations crisis in April 2017 when video evidence of security officials violently removing a passenger surfaced. During the incident, Dr David Dao, 69, was taken from his seat and bloodied by security agents.
The airline made a series of tweets and remarks in the hours following the tragedy. Instead of apologizing, they reiterated their previous statement, calling the passenger "disruptive and confrontational." This is a textbook case of poor crisis management.
P&G has a long history of adapting to weather interruptions by utilizing its IWS culture. It was critical in the company's successful navigation of COVID-19, which affected every plant worldwide.
In Egypt, for example, the corporation had to make decisions about how to keep its operations operational and its employees safe while coping with political unrest and violence.
The company's reaction was textbook crisis management. It acted fast and responsibly, gaining widespread support through lighter humour.
When Procter & Gamble faced a weird internet challenge in which teens filmed themselves eating Tide Pods, they knew they had to act immediately to defend their brand. They also ensured that they were completely honest about the facts and not at fault. This was a crucial lesson for other businesses since realizing that unanticipated disasters might occur without your company's fault is essential.

When it comes to Peter&Mantis, Knowhere etc I honestly think there wasn't great writing around these and other vol 3 concepts. In part this is because as much as I like Gunn I think his attachment to Rocket overshadowed the needs of the rest of the story. It's like all these things he wanted to be there at the end were put in without taking into consideration that we didn't have another gotg movie as a prelude. Instead we had Endgame. We don't have Peter&Mantis sibling development in Endgame or IW. That meant the holiday special wasn't enough and vol 3 needed to do more and make it feel like a true relationship dynamic not just something tossed around.
Knowhere for me is funny because in IW it's clear they haven't been back there since Vol 1. Mantis hadn't heard of it and Peter tells her they were there before and it was crappy. There wasn't any canonical attachment to that place for them and suddenly they're buying it and live there. Also I seem to be alone with this but how is it not explored that Knowhere is where Thanos captured Gamora. Pretty much everything about IW and Endgame gets ignored to make it seem these people had some different life events between vol 2 and 3. There's even a scene with Gamora where she says what kind of psycho would destroy an entire civilization. But she was in Endgame and we saw her reaction to finding out Thanos had taken out half the freaking universe and planned to do more damage by time traveling to the future. That's a lot more people than one civilization. Gunn seemed to forget or ignored she was in that movie. Her relationship with Nebula was similar. He didn't really show us how it had grown from Endgame but at the same time they were keeping up with eachother the whole time. By leaving out important parts of canon it made some of the writing wonky.
yeah i'm with ya on all these points anon. like if i were peter i feel like i'd be kinda weirded out abt living on knowhere at least for a while at first lollll
i think part of what makes things feels disjointed is that the fact that it's been 2, maybe even 2 and a half, years since endgame in vol 3. like i guess we got the gotg for a hot sec in love & thunder which would've been maybe within the first few months/year after endgame, but the holiday special and vol 3 being so removed time-wise from endgame just makes it feel even more like we're missing something. i kinda wish gunn had just pulled another vol 2 (which came out 3 years after vol 1, but took place only 2 months after vol 1) and put the holiday special and vol 3 farther back in the timeline to make it closer to endgame, tho i guess that would just exacerbate the lack of showing the effects of thanos/gamora's death/etc on the whole team even more. like idk it just seems weird that the immediate aftermath of endgame on the gotg just happens offscreen? considering how much infinity stones/thanos/etc was at the core of their whole story before? and esp considering how tight vol 1 and 2 were. but i guess that's also just par for the course when we already had four entire years pass offscreen for the gotg between vol 2 and iw ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

a couple weeks ago somebody on r/MarvelFanfiction asked for IW/Endgame time-travel fix-it fics that don’t hate on Steve and/or the rest of Team Cap, and I pulled a few good ones--all Loki-centric, of course--from my bookmarks list. it only occurred to me today that hey, I might as well share them here too, plus tags if I happen to know the author’s Tumblr.
If I Could Start Again: gen, IW!Thor uses the Time Stone and wakes up in the body of his younger self, way back on the night of his botched coronation; WIP but it's already pretty long; by @taaroko
Undying: gen, Thanos kills Thor instead of Loki, obviously Loki has to fix it; by @iguessyouregonnamissthepantyraid
Revival: gen, another one where Thor uses the Time Stone
The Price: Thorki, rated E; Thor brings Loki back, but fixing everything else might mean losing him again
Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust: Frostiron, post-apocalyptic AU with a time-travel solution eventually, written in 2014 so it's not actually about IW/Endgame specifically but the general concept is actually pretty similar
by land, by sea, by dirigible: gen, takes place immediately after the Loki show; not about preventing anything, but Loki takes advantage of the brand-new multiverse to reunite at least one timeline's Thor with his Loki; also by @iguessyouregonnamissthepantyraid
Withering Away: gen; Thor agrees to help with the Time Heist on the condition that he can get the Tesseract and Loki from the Statesman; by @galaxythreads
the nine in the tree: gen; not necessarily focused on time travel as a way to fix IW/Endgame because the canon divergence starts earlier, but it does feature a bit of time travel and it has Thor and Loki taking refuge with Team Cap for a while; by @bereft-of-frogs
under bright stars burning: Steve/Loki, by me, and it...sort of qualifies? I wrote it for @veliseraptor in 2016 so it doesn't have anything to do with IW/Endgame, and the time travel was just an excuse for Steve and Loki to sorta-kinda grow up together, but it's the type of Avengers AU that could potentially prevent IW/Endgame from happening in the first place (edited to add this because it only just occurred to me and I had to make a new comment on the Reddit post whoops)
I could swear @gaslightgallows and @veliseraptor wrote at least one time-travel fix-it each as well, but I couldn’t find anything when I looked. for that matter I’m almost certain there are others I’ve read and liked that would qualify, but I guess either that was before I got smart about bookmarking every fic I liked, or they weren’t tagged “time travel” so I didn’t find them when I was specifically looking.

Peter Parker has nanotech web shooters in Far From Home.
When I rewatched the scene from FFH in which Peter firsts sees Mysterio, I noticed this interesting little piece of tech. Check it out:
Tumblr media
Did you see that? Let’s slow that down, one more time:
Tumblr media
Peter clearly pulls something from his pocket and slaps it against his opposite forearm, then hits his wrists together to trigger the nanotech to activate. Moments later, the web shooters are fully formed around his wrists, and within seconds he’s ready to shoot at the enemy.
Peter having nanotech isn’t that surprising. After all, his Iron Spider suit is nanotech and he has been in possession of it since Infinity War. But Peter left the Iron Spider back home in this film, meaning this isn’t the suit. This is something separate, and it implies one of two things.
1) Tony made Peter a set of pocket web shooters prior to Infinity War, probably around the same time he made his own nanotech Iron Man suit and Peter’s Iron Spider suit. This is highly possible. I mean, Tony put literally everything into Peter’s original Stark suit, so the concept of Tony going one step further and ensuring Peter would have a travel-sized set of shooters even when he doesn’t have the suit isn’t really that far fetched. This may have been something Tony didn’t get the chance to give Peter before IW, and it could have been something Peter found after the events of Endgame...which would be kind of touching, because the would mean Tony is still keeping an eye out for his kid even after he’s gone.
2) Peter built them himself after the events of Endgame. Again, this is highly likely. We see Peter working with a holodesk fabricator in Far From Home, right before the battle in London. Peter clearly isn’t a stranger to Tony’s design tech and it would follow that, after being gifted a nanotech suit from his mentor, Peter would be more than a little curious about its design. Peter is the kind of person to wear web shooters on his wrists under his clothing anyway (we see him wearing them on his way home from school when Tony first shows up in the apartment in Civil War). So he would absolutely be interested in (and more than capable of) designing a more discreet version that won’t draw attention from peers if he keeps them with him 24/7.
So anyway...for fic-writing purposes, I found this detail highly interesting. :3 Peter Parker has travel-sized nanotech web shooters, it’s canon. You’re welcome.

At best, No Way Home was an exploration of Spider Man as a concept, not Spider Man as a character. As a movie, it was one big plot-driven mess of a Spiderverse knock-off. Say what you will about MCU Spiderman, but Homecoming and FFH were more character-driven than this film. Heck, I'd go so far as to say those two movies were more character-driven than Civil War and Endgame.
Civil War itself was already done just to compete against Batman VS Superman, let alone the cameos being confusing mess of legal rights as apparently Spidey wasn't even almost in the film until they got the rights, and honestly, wish they didn't get it around civil war time. His cameo is nothing but saying, "HES IN THE MCU NOW!", and ruining his character with Tony, as in the comics by Civil War time, he was an adult and briefly took Tony's side, even revealing his identity to the public.....except he eventually switched sides and hasn't liked Tony fully since....we also got that bad comic about him giving up his marriage to MJ to save Aunt May, but still, his movie cameo in comparison was just character filling a role on Team Iron Man, getting defeated and getting sent home.
Like I do find it interesting they wanted to reference Spidey back in the whole Nick Fury visits Iron Man thing from IM1, but again, legal rights means no and it got deleted and when we did get him....it was this mess in CW and in IW, he at least had a role, aka helping fight Thanos and such, but then he gets snapped away and.....we don't get to see ANY of his friends reactions or Aunt May's in EG, cause writers didn't consider them and even claimed in FFH, they were snapped as well, and closest role Peter has is....motivation to invent time travel for Tony, comes back in final fight, says goodbye to tony and...is at tony's funeral with Aunt May.....that's it.
Its kinda sad your right.....as Homecoming was probably a good attempt at a character driven story, with Tony's appearing in it being the only con and them making the villain cause of Tony annoying, and they even alluded to possible Sinister Six, an actual Spidey Plot....but then FFH came out after Endgame and while it is character driven like you say and even ironically said the multiverse is BS, still got the Tony con and having to explain what happened to the other Spidey characters during endgame and how they the same age, since endgame kept the five years....plus it apparently was a nightmare to film due to spoiler gate from endgame. And then you got No Way Home as a-part off Phase Four's new found obsession: cameos. Aka hype up people with cameos and such and take a potential good Spidey Plot and....ruin it with the now real multiverse and basically make it less Spidey plot and more erasure of prior film development and such just to get nostalgia bait in a Spiderverse rip off, cause Disney's still bitter Spiderverse beat Ralph Breaks The Internet at the oscars.

Idk👉👈 if I can ask you about other ships (other than strange's) but what are your thoughts about the real true comic canon couple Sharon & Steve. They have a rich romantic history together in comics. It's somehow sad for me to see it not happen & Sharon's character being sidelined in movies for sake of Peggy(and Natasha).
This makes me scared for Clea, that she'll get the Sharon treatment too. Since she wasn't introduced in his first movie & didn't come in later movies like IW or endgame too (Peggy kept appearing in more movies and Sharon came too late & for so little). The way Stephen had a 'love interest' Christine for him makes audience connect & attached to her which happened in Peggy's case, and thus Steve's pairing with Sharon (who got little screentime) was rejected by audience. I kinda see the same happening with Clea, because Christine is present in 2nd movie too so even if clea is introduced she'll more likely have less screentime(also cuz of Wanda's story).
I'm damn excited about Multiverse of madness, the whole concept about it & combination of big cast but that's why I think it should be an avengers movie and this all shouldn't be forced into strange's solo movie which he got after so long. (The same happened with CA civil war)
Like I wish we get his journey to dark dimension, meeting clea and all the soul binding/spirit travelling stuff together while they fight respective villains(mostly dormammu or umar + baron). See him grow & learn more about him as a person rather than just seeing him as a character in a play. And mostly I wish clea gets to be the queen of dark dimension & show her true powers on screen, but knowing Marvel that's never gonna happen😔.
Thank you for your time & keep doing the god's work.
Greetings, anon! Don’t worry, you’re very welcome to share any thoughts on anything. Though, I need to say, I don’t understand a thing about Steve and/or Sharon. I’m aware they have a very important background, which helped consolidate their relationship throughout the years. But that’s all I know.
What they did to Sharon in the MCU is awful, I totally agree with you. But I’m not sure if they’re going to give Christine such background. Mostly because she’s not a hero (hopefully, she will not become a sorceress or something like that). She was probably inspired by the animated movie, while Clea was a separate character (mentioned in the end of the movie and as a supporting character in the comic book “sequel”- although I don’t like her childish personality).
Still, my hopes are pretty low. I don’t want to think about it too much because these last few months were quite disappointing for Stephen stans (me included). I agree with you that the movie seems too crowded.
How can they fix this?
Tumblr media
That’s the only way haha. But I’m not diving into this matter any further because I’m not open to discuss MCU yet. And I fear that, the closer the release date gets, the more uneasy I’ll grow. I really don’t like this feeling :’)
Thank you for passing and sorry about my pessimistic view.

10 and/or 22?
10. Most disliked arc? Why?
Definitely the IW/Endgame arc. From the get-go, changing Thanos's motivation from "courting Death" to "need moar resources" was a risky choice, and the only way that it was going to work was if the details were airtight, especially if they knew they were going to be exploring concepts like time travel as a major part of the story. But the Russos seemed to be more concerned with making Thanos the Biggest Bad to Ever Bad than they were with writing a story that made sense.
The plot was flimsy, many characters were underpowered (so that Thanos could win), there were some terrible messages (Gamora), and in the end, everything that Thanos did was completely pointless because the Snap dusted half of every living thing, including the plants and animals, aka the fucking resources. There was the same ratio of people to resources post-Snap as there was before. Like. Mind-blowing.
I also feel like Endgame was generally a mess and my opinion is that they wrote themselves into a corner in having Thanos win the way he did - ie, dusting some major characters for the (hollow) shock value - and they couldn't quite figure out how to write themselves back out of it. Their climax falls flat because everyone knew immediately that Endgame would be about bringing the Snapped characters back. The question was how, not if, and I just think that if you're going to brag about how your stakes are so high, and how your villain means serious fucking business, and the how movie is going to be so mind-blowing that you have to obsess over not letting spoilers leak, then you need to follow through and make choices that will make the audience wonder, what's really at stake here? If Thanos wins, what are we truly losing? Make the audience fear Thanos winning as much as the characters do, or else what's the point?
And then, of course, there are all the problems with Endgame regarding time travel, the Avengers' terrible plan, Steve's ending, etc.
So, yeah. I hate everything about those movies, and I think that the terrible logistics involved in Snapping everyone and then using time travel to bring them back has thrust the MCU as a whole into the kind of convoluted, overly complicated mess that they started out wanting to avoid. When the "infinity saga" began, the movies were all their own separate but cohesive puzzle pieces and when they came together, all of those pieces fit into one logical picture. By the end of the infinity saga, well. *handwaves at everything I just wrote*
And then after all that, the Loki series is really going to be out here saying that the infinity stones are no more valuable than paperweights to the TVA, the implications of which are just - ??? I still have no idea how to even react to that, tbh.
So, yeah. Sorry this is so long - I don't really think about Endgame or IW much at all anymore, so when the opportunity pops up to talk about them I remember all the things I hated and then apparently it's time for a rant, lmao.
22. Popular character you hate?
I don't think there's any character that I truly hate, or at least none that I can think of offhand. I don't like Vision, and I don't care for Dr. Strange, and they are both pretty popular. But, yeah, pretty much all of the MCU characters are either in the "I Stan" category, the "Yeah, They're Pretty Cool" category, or in the "I Acknowledge They Exist" category.
Thank you for the ask!
Salty Asks.

Just under 600 words written today. I'm hitting the point in the semester where I'm crashing pretty badly after having had to spend the first half of it GO GO GO, which is not great because the back half should also be GO GO GO, but my brain and my body literally cannot do it anymore. I've got tomorrow off, and I need to spend it working but I don't have to get up early about it so at least there's that.
Snippet from Of Home Near chapter 15.
Tony said abruptly, “I gotta ask you something and, you know, I am terrified to know the answer but if I don’t ask, I will wonder about it for the rest of my life and I can’t live like that.” Steve blinked, nonplussed. “Yes?” “Don’t say it like that.”  Tony took a deep breath, blinked a couple of times, and then asked in a rush, “Did you have sex with my dad?” Steve stared at him, too startled to reply. Tony stared back at him, his eyes going wider and wider.  “You’re not answering.  Why aren’t you answering?” Steve dug his thumb into the flesh between his brows and finally said, “You know, I’m really tempted to let this go on longer –” “Oh my god,” Tony said, sounding more horrified than ever. “– but the answer is no, I didn’t sleep with Howard.” Tony slumped back against the couch, thumping the mostly-empty coffee cup against his knee.  “I think you just took a decade off my life.  Don’t do that.” Steve raised his eyebrows.  “What, sleep with Howard?” “Please never say those words in that order again.” Steve felt the corner of his mouth twitch and said gravely, “I mean, we have slept together.  In the same tent.” “I’m going to kill you, Rogers,” Tony said.

The “Bucky is Danny’s grunkle” AU hasn’t left me alone since I thought of it, so here are some scenarios and hcs to go with this nonsense:
After whatever happens in CW, IW, EG and shit comes and goes [Still not sure if Steve stays in this scenario, time travel is a pretty tricky concept to consider when one universe says “You can’t change your past|creating new timelines with every little change” to the other saying the typical “Don’t wreck this timeline!|Any change will tamper with this timeline”] - anyways! Bucky becomes Danny’s guardian, only cause the government is still iffy with enhanced people and shit, and they’d like to keep track of the overpowered teenager, you know? Bucky and Danny aren’t complaining, but they sure don’t like the implications.
Bucky isn’t sure how he feels of being given guardianship of Danny [When the kid clearly has more well-suited relatives to take him in]. The kid has like a dozen defenses to use against him in case things ever turn to shit, but it still plagues his mind.
The team thinks the family resemblance is funny, but once Bucky cuts his hair, it’s downright mind boggling [At least Danny knows what lies in his future when it doesn’t involve blue skin and flaming hair], and that’s not mentioning the mannerisms they share. There are videos.
Danny holds a grudge, Tony can feel holes being burnt into his skull whenever they’re in the same room, and he has noticed Danny purposely putting himself between him and Barnes.
Bucky has met Jazz [albeit via video chat]. He likes her, she reminds him of one of his sisters, but he can do without her attempts of psychoanalyzing him.
Danny also ain’t cleared to take missions. He isn’t even sure he wants to involve himself, considering how accustomed he is to dealing with threats that are dead.
Their kitchen is always packed with food. You think being a mere superhero with a fast metabolism sucks? Try being a teenager while you’re at it.
Speaking of which, they share a lot of food preference, but Bucky is absolutely disgusted with Danny’s taste of shakes. To the point he has two separate blenders in the kitchen.
Danny has tried dipping into the notions of matchmaking.......he ain’t good at it.
Danny’s friends have often joked about Bucky and Sam co-parenting him.
Bucky does not like Vlad, at all [Vlad was the one that killed Jack and Maddie, shhh]. And he hates the notion that the man will have pretty much the upper hand if a confrontation ever happens. At least Danny brought weapons that work on good ole V-Man, cause he plans to use them with brutal force if V ever shows his ugly mug.
Tucker and Sam [”I’m not gonna call her Sammy or Samantha, grunkle Bucky, I value my life. You call Sam Sammy if you don’t want confusion.”] plan on coming over after he finally settled down at the Avengers Compound.
Bucky’s gonna be the responsible guardian™ and make sure everything stays within the no-necking-zone. He’s not gungho on the idea of the Mansons thinking he’s a shit guardian, no siree [”Those bedroom doors better stay open the entire time they’re here, especially if you’re alone with her.” “Getting a little old fashioned there, old man” “Oh, you want old fashioned? Alright, you want alone time with your girl? Well there better be three inch space between you, no hands below the neck and waist, don’t think I’m fool enough to assume you two will keep it clean, Danny” “OMG, seriously?” “This is a get together with you and your friends, that means it’s the three of you for the entire week, I don’t care if Tucker did agree to give you two privacy. She is gonna leave this compound the same way she got here, you hear me.” “UGH! And to think I told them you were cool!” “Well tough luck, pal! I better not find you sneaking into her room - I will put a chastity belt on you, designed just for you, Danny! Don’t think I won’t!!”] [He’s not serious, but Danny doesn’t know that cause it’s really hard to tell when the guy is joking or not] the Team is there to witness it, they’re in stitches hearing Danny curse at non-slamming doors on his way out. Danny wishes he kept his mouth shut.
There really is no sneaking around when your guardian has decades worth of spysassin experience on him, even if you are half dead [”Kid, you’re cold as you are now, you think he doesn’t notice when the temperature drops???”]

Hey! I’m the anon who was catching up on MCU movies and asked you questions? (Clint/BW etc). So I finally watched Endgame and I'm devastated. I admit that I don’t have the same relationship with Tony the way you MCU and RDJ fans have since 2008, but I'm very sad. I understand the decision to kill him because he was the only hero who would never have been able to walk away from saving people. So unless RDJ was to be eternally chained to MCU (which I don’t wish for him), it would have (1/4)
been unnatural to let him live and “disappear”. He is not Captain America. Lmao, what a Captain he is. I do have some questions though. When the others visited Tony at his farm, I got the implication that it was the first time they visited him? That’s horrible. They remember him only when they need him. Also shouldn’t Bruce know better about scientific experimentation? The whole sequence with BW, CA, Prof Hulk and Scott experimenting with that tech was weird. There was no proper procedure (2/4)
or anything. I didn’t actually mind BW’s fate. All her eye-rolling at the beginning irked me and her behaviour in CACW (betraying Tony) was very ew. I would have liked to see more of Nebula than BW. Also, I wish they treated Thor’s depression more seriously. They had the chance to tackle a serious issue and they mucked it up. WTF was up with CA’s storyline? That was such a shit way to end the movie. I have never been a fan of CA and his story but that ending was quite pathetic. (3/4)
They nullified the only sacrifice he ever made in his life and flipped the bird at the concept of “moving on”. Did his story make sense to you? I know you ship CA and Tony together. All in all, I prefer IW to Endgame. I'm glad I was right in liking Tony Stark from the beginning. Poor Peter, what a trauma. Should've known when they made Tony his father figure. It’s less facts and more your opinion I’m asking this time. Sorry about that but also thanks in advance!! I think I'm done with MCU. (4/4)
i think it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been attached to the character of tony stark. the moment you’re invested in him even if your journey with him was only for a few months, his story really resonates with you and makes you really emotional in ways you’d never imagined. so i understand how devastated you must feel because i felt the exact same way. i cried each time i watched endgame in theatres and i still can’t rewatch That Scene without being incredibly upset. but like you said, the decision made sense and i’ve come to terms with it. it’s still always going to be something that makes me sad though.
anyway, to your questions.
1. i got the same feeling that it was the first time they visited. for steve, at least. i think natasha probably had already visited a couple times since she and tony do nod at each other and acknowledge their presence without it being frosty and awkward. but for steve, yeah, i think it was his first time seeing tony. maybe it’s because he didn’t know how to face tony anymore after what happened five years ago, but it did rub me the wrong way too.
2. that whole sequence with bruce and the others testing out time travel was just. there’s a whole post about it somewhere here that explains it perfectly how wrong it was. like you said, bruce is a scientist and he should know how dangerous scientific experimentation can be. and it really just seemed like they were winging it and had no contingency plan for what they would do if they fucked up entirely. 99% of that scene was played for laughs and when it’s over and you really think about it, you do realize how shitty it would have been if they’d accidentally killed scott via quantum tunnel.
3. i agree, they should have handled thor’s storyline better. he was facing some very real problems and the way hemsworth played him was beautiful. but the fact that he was constantly the butt of everyone’s jokes was just so awful. i hate that they made rhodey say all of those mean things bc that was just wildly out of character when it’s always been shown that he’s caring and considerate of his friends. it’s terrible that they showed thor and frigga having such a tender mother/son moment only to ruin it at the end by having her tell him to eat a salad. the only people who treated him the way he deserved were bruce and tony, imo.
4. haha. hahahah. hahahahah. god no i did not enjoy steve’s storyline and tbh this movie really soured his character for me and i refuse to acknowledge it. like you said, they nullified his only sacrifice by having him go back to the past and get a do-over in life. nothing about his motivations made any god damn sense. the fact that he was looking at a picture of peggy, who’d died years ago, just three weeks after his two best friends turned to dust is just mind boggling. he’s talking about losing her at a therapy session for people who’d lost their loved ones in the decimation. just. he literally forgot bucky, sam, and wanda even existed. i didn’t think his ending was romantic or in character but. whatever. i literally only ship steve and tony as long as we forget endgame happened (bc truly endgame was a pepperony event). anyway, endgame steve whomst?
i agree though, i thought iw was better than endgame. it felt like endgame left a lot of loose ends and didn’t address things that were brought up previously in the franchise. it’s an amazing film to witness in theatres but when you really think about it, there are a ton of questions that you never get any answers to.
anyway, if you’re a tony fan i do think you should check out ffh before you quit the mcu completely. i wasn’t going to watch it at first, but it shows how important tony is to the universe and also to peter. it’ll wrap up phase 3 completely and give some sort of closure for the tony fans. kind of.

Loki is coming back theory: A hopeful post
I think the majority of us agree with the fact that Loki, one of the most complex and acclaimed MCU characters, deserved a better ending to his redemption arc. I have decided to write this post in order to spread some hope that this is not the last we’ve seen of the God of Mischief.
First of all, his death was not convincing nor fitting for a character that is known for dying and coming back in almost every movie he is in (and don’t forget about the comic books). If the directors intended to make his death believable, they should have made him use his powers, try to trick Thanos with his illusions or attempt to fake his own death again and ultimately fail. He should have had a good plan only for it to be disrupted by Thanos and the fact that he doesn’t even seem to try makes me think either Loki is not dead or he let Thanos kill him on purpose.
It’s interesting that neither Loki nor Doctor Strange seem to use the infinity stones they own against Thanos. Even Thanos acknowledges that Strange doesn’t “use his greatest weapon”. But we know that Strange made use of the time stone to see into the future and realised that he (and half the universe) had to die in order to win in the end (presumably). Maybe Loki knew this as well. Maybe his death was also necessary in order to reach that outcome and that’s why he let Thanos kill him.
Tumblr media
“The Tesseract can show visions of the future, which may or may not come true. The people who have seen this power are the Red Skull, Eric Selvig, and Hawkeye [...]” [source] Loki seemed to be looking at the tesseract very intently before saying “I assure you, brother, the sun will shine on us again” to Thor. The tesseract could have shown him a vision of a future in which Thanos is defeated and Loki’s brought back to life somehow, hence the optimism of his statement. Also, I’m 100% sure this line is foreshadowing, it’s too cryptic and striking.
Also, it’s odd that Loki just drops the tesseract on the floor and doesn’t even try to pick it up while Thanos is distracted, considering he seemed so unwilling to give it away only a moment before. I guess he was too busy doing… whatever it is he was doing while Thanos was beating the crap out of the Hulk and killing Heimdall. Because, really, where was he? If the Russos’ intention was to make us believe Loki was out of options and would finally meet his definitive end, it was not a good idea to have the audience lose sight of him for 4 whole minutes, especially since he’s a character who has faked his own death before and whose most distinctive traits are being mischievous and unpredictable.
When being asked about Loki’s death at Ace Con 2018, Tom Hiddleston said “I’ve known about that scene for two years. I met with Marvel in May 2016, and they were actually telling me the story of Ragnarok with concept arts and images. [...] My whole journey through making Thor: Ragnarok I knew this was coming” [source] Tom knew about his Infinity War scene back in 2016 and yet he said this about Loki on September 2017: “He’s cunning and transformative and changeable and will do everything he can to survive. He’s the trickster. He’s the God of mischief.” [source]
Tom Hiddleston also had a reassuring message for fans who were worried about Loki before Infinity War was released: “Loki is the God of Mischief, the Lord of Misrule, an Agent of Chaos. Chaos isn’t something that’s threatening to Loki and everything’s fine.” [source]
Even Loki himself reminded us who he was right before being ‘killed’ by Thanos. “I, Loki, prince of Asgard, Odinson, the rightful king of Jotunheim, God of Mischief [...]”. His last words “you will never be a god” also point out the fact that he is a god (and Thanos is not). This line sounds too cryptic as well, it’s almost like Loki is telling Thanos “I know something you don’t”.
It is also known some members of the cast filmed at least one scene in Durham Cathedral (2017), and Tom Hiddleston was supposedly among them. Although he has not been photographed, different people claimed to have spotted him on the set.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The scene(s) shot in the cathedral never made it into Infinity War. However, it is unclear whether this footage was shot for Avengers 4. It’s important to remember that this location was also used to film Thor’s vision in Age of Ultron, a vision which seemingly represented Hel. We also know that Loki’s death in Thor: The Dark World was originally intended to be real, although not definitive, as Thor was supposed to travel to Hel and retrieve Loki in Thor: Ragnarok. [source] Perhaps this idea has not been fully discarded, which would be a plausible explanation as to why Chris, Tessa and Tom were spotted filming in Durham. It could be assumed that Loki is truly dead this time, but not for good: Thor would go to Hel in order to bring him back from the dead, hopefully in Avengers 4, or in another Thor movie. You can read more about this on this Reddit thread.
It’s actually a fact that Loki will appear in the next Avengers movie, as these leaked photos of the A4 set confirm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These photos suggest that Avengers 4 will recreate the Battle of New York. The widespread assumption that Loki’s presence in the pictures indicates a flashback is wrong, as we can see Scott and an older Tony in the company of Captain America, who is wearing his old costume (meaning he is Steve’s past self). Thor and Loki are also dressed as in the battle of New York and Loki is gagged. He has something that looks like the tesseract in his hand and this doesn’t add up to the events of the first Avengers movie, which could mean that time travel is involved. This alone doesn’t prove that Loki is alive in the current timeline, but maybe his death can be reversed if the Avengers alter the past. In any case, at least we can be sure that his past self will play a role in the movie.
Kevin Feige tweeted this letter dedicated to the fans after Infinity War was released. We can see Thanos' gauntlet as well as a Loki keychain in the picture, next to the letter, which seems suspicious since Loki’s role in IW was pretty limited.
Tumblr media
When it comes to Kevin Feige, it is also important to point out that he has barely spoken about Loki’s death. In fact, when asked specifically about Loki, he only said that the scene was emotional, as were some other scenes in the movie [source]. He seemed to avoid answering the question by beating about the bush and repeating the same thing over again. One would think that if this were Loki’s final scene, Feige would have something more to say, considering that Loki is a fan favorite and that Feige himself always seemed to appreciate the character.
In addition, Jeremy Conrad seems to believe Loki could come back and has hinted he will on several occasions. For those who don’t know who this man is, he’s a journalist and the founder of MCU Cosmic and he has proven himself to be a quite reliable source when it comes to information regarding the MCU. This is what he said on the matter at hand:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, he shared the link to a brief article about the possibility of Loki being brought back to life through time travel. You can read it here.
Two months later, this was Jeremy Conrad’s response when someone suggested Tom Hiddleston should be the next James Bond:
Tumblr media
He basically hinted that Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is not over yet though when some users asked him to elaborate he didn’t answer. We all know that Avengers 4 is in post-production by now and this movie definitely won’t keep Tom busy so we can assume Jeremy Conrad is referring to the possibility of Loki being in other MCU movies yet to be announced.
Many of you may not know this but some weeks ago a man who claimed to have worked at Tom Hiddleston’s house tweeted that Tom has signed up for 4 more Marvel movies:
Tumblr media
We should take this with a grain of salt but I personally think he might be telling the truth. Though I’ve chosen to hide his username because of the negative response he got for this tweet, this is not just an anonymous person hiding behind a computer screen, but someone who has personal information on his twitter profile, such as pictures, location, occupation (he is indeed a plumber and works in the UK) and he deleted the tweet once it started to gain some attention. He said he only wanted to share the good news but regretted tweeting about it because of the way Loki fans had reacted (some were calling him a liar). However, he insisted that he wasn’t lying and that we would see Loki in more movies. To be honest, I was really skeptical about this whole plumber thing at first but a few days after this, Jeremy Conrad insinuated that Tom Hiddleston won’t be James Bond because that would be incompatible with his role as Loki, so, even though 4 more films sound too good to be true, I think something might be going on with Tom’s contract.
At this point, it seems there is more evidence of Loki coming back than being permanently dead but, of course, nothing is confirmed yet. I’ve made a list of links just in case you want to read more theories about Loki’s death:
Reasons why Loki is alive
More reasons why Loki is alive
Ego Stone theory
Loki’s left hand theory
Undying fidelity theory
The sun will shine on us again
You will never be a god
More hope for Loki

Endgame - Thor Odinson
WARNING: MAJOR ENDGAME SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT!!!
The Russos really went out of their way to just destroy all the growth that Thor went through in Ragnarok in both Infinity War and Endgame, didn’t they?  I mean... this film.  Oh, my God!  They really just did that to him, didn’t they?
Like with the others, we’ll do a LIKES and DISLIKES before we get into my final opinion on his character arc.  Fair Warning, there wan’t a lot I liked about his characterization in this film, as opposed to the last one or his own stand-alone films.
Now, let’s do this.
LIKES
Went for the head
New Asgard
Valkyrie
Korg and Miek
The Big Lebowski
Rocket smacking some sense into him
His reunion with his mother
He’s still worthy
Nice throwback to Infinity War, and that BS of “you should have aimed for the head”.  He just cut straight to the chase after he found out that Thanos destroyed the stones and there would be no reversing of what had happened and he just *CHOP!* cut his head off.  Beautiful and elegant and clean.
Seeing that there were Asguardian survivors in that small little fishing village and that Valkyrie pretty much ran it.  I didn’t like the role reversal between the two of them, but it was so nice to see Valkyrie being the badass leader she is and the fact that she was named King in the end.  I’m here for women being given the title of King in fiction.
It was also nice to see that Korg and Miek were still alive.
As much as I didn’t like Thor’s new look (more on that below) I did appreciate The Big Lebowski remark.  Those sunglasses killed me.
When he went back to 2013 Asgard with Rocket and started to have his mental breakdown, Rocket - well I loved everything about Rocket in this film. But this scene, where he literally smacked Thor and reminded him that he wasn’t the only one who lost people in this conflict gave me life.
Another thing I loved about the time travel segment was Thor’s reunion with his mother.  I know we weren’t given very many scenes between them in the Thor films, but it was nice to see Thor get his goodbye with his mom.  Also her parting line of “Eat a salad” was great.
After everything he’s been through, it was nice for me, and for Thor, to see that he was still worthy to wield his own hammer.
DISLIKES
Pity Party
Killed Thanos
Five Years Later
He’s just a joke now
Him leaving with the Guardians of the Galaxy
I understand grief and anger, I really do, but this whole wallowing in thy own self pity routine is something that stinks more of Stark than it does Thor.  Especially after everything he went through in Ragnarok.  Him acting like he was the only one that lost anything, and that he was solely responsible was aggravating as fuck.
While I was happy that Thanos was killed once the Avengers found him again, I will forever be upset and pissed off that Nebula wasn’t the one to kill him.  Out of everyone, she suffered at his hands more than anyone, especially when you remember the fact that her sister - Gamora - was killed the old fashioned way and not dusted.  There was no coming back for her or those he murdered.  There was no reversing everything that Nebula had been through at Thanos’ hands.  The fact that they killed him twice in this movie, and she wasn’t the one to do it either time is infuriating.
The Thor that was presented after the five year jump was literally just a joke.  And while it would be great to have an actual fat superhero, it was really just a fit guy in a fat suit, which makes it so much worse.  I get pulling focus away from him because he had such a big role in IW, but to make his only presence in this film be a punchline really destroyed everything he’s been through up until now.
Finally, after the big showdown and the defeat of Thanos, to have Thor abandon his people to go on a space road trip with the Guardians, while trying to set himself up as a leader just felt off to me.  Once again, I have to say that the Russos ruined everything he went through in his own franchise when they made this movie.  As much as I despise the concept of hereditary monarchies, Thor went through a lot to lead his people and all of that was completely brushed aside to have him and Quill bicker.
FINAL OPINION
This movie ruined everything that Thor went through in his own franchise, as I’ve said already, and while it did end on a happier note for the character, that ended up just being the punchline of a joke.
I was not impressed at all.

Avengers: Endgame (2019) -  Review - Spoilers Ahead
Tumblr media
Later edit: I saw the movie again and Thanos says he destroyed the stones using the stones. First things first: Imma put a ”keep reading” below just in case someone stumbles upon this review and hasn’t seen the movie yet.
I was gonna wait until I saw it a second time, as I did with Infinity War, but because I am sick with a cold and low on money I am just gonna gather all my opinions and feelings about the movie and just get it over with.
Off the bat I have to say that I have been looking forward to this movie for a year (everyone has been), and while the constant news about it started to become quite annoying the hype was still there. So, naturally I went to see it as soon as it premiered in my country.
If i were to compare this to Infinity War, which, again, most people do, I’d say that Infinity War is more consistent when it comes to its plot and the rules it establishes or has established before in other MCU movies. BUT Endgame just feels like it has more stakes, that it is not as predictable as the first one. I mean, come on, we all knew part of our heroes were gonna be dusted and we knew they were gonna come back because it happens in the comics as well. Obviously they wouldn’t have killed a big character in IW because they needed them for Endgame. As such we were left with the OG Avengers plus a couple of other supporting cast members.  I feel as if even though Endgame was, in part predictable, its stakes were higher. We knew they’d find a way to reverse the snap we just didn’t know how. We speculated it would be time travel months ago but again we weren’t sure how that’d go.
And while I appreciate that they tried to establish some rules prior to the time travel I feel that as soon as it was convenient they threw them out the window, more or less.  More on that later.
What I liked about this movie?
Tumblr media
I confess: I wanted the movie to start with this scene above. No music, no nothing just this scene that we also saw in the trailer. It just conveys so well how Infinity War ended, how our heroes feel. It’s tragic, no shred of hope. And yeah the trailers spoiled it because they also showed Tony back on Earth ( which I hated) it still would’ve been nice to start with this but I admit the scene with Clint and his family was heartbreaking but not surprising.
Ok so what did I like in Endgame?
Cap’s determination to move forward, his willingness to help others do so and adapt to the new world post snap. it really shows the core qualities of Cap and why Steve is truly worthy to be Cap.
I really liked Ant Man, Paul Rudd is just a delight to watch. I loved all of his reactions and I feel like he mirrored the audience pretty well. I mean he is a hero in his own right yet he is still an outsider reacting to everything around him and to the other more well known characters.
The way the movie brought many things full-circle, it was like an ongoing thing. Staring with Thor killing Thanos and saying that this time he aimed for the head to Tony ending 11 years of MCU with the same line that he started it.
Black Widow - she is not really one of my favourites. There’s nothing wrong with her it’s just I couldn’t invest in her as a character, but that’s a me problem not a problem with the character as is. But in this movie Black Widow was amazing and not because of the sacrifice she made but because she endured and basically took on Nick Fury’s mantle, so to speak, and tried to guide everyone and be that shinning light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Also, her friendship with Clint is amazing and I love that throughout all of the MCU the writers did not feel compelled to make them have a romantic relationship. There are other types of relationships in this world and I am glad Marvel understands that and showed us how beautiful her and Clint’s relationship is and how she supports him and loves him and vice versa.
Everything with Rocket is amazing because he is amazing.
I liked how they used time travel to give a nod to a lot of Marvel Movies, kinda paying homage to what was before while at the same time showing where we are now and how far our characters have evolved since this whole MCU started. It was beautifully done. And yes Tony talking to his father was nothing out of the ordinary, in terms of dialogue, the moment was heartfelt and it really caught me off guard. Steve seeing Peggy was a nice touch too even though we know it was there to kind of explain the ending but more on that later.
Clint being badass. He is one of my favourite MCU characters.
The fact that Thor had a panic attack and pretty much got depressed after the events of Infinity War. I know many consider his character development that he got during Ragnarok was ruined, but I think what happened to him was a normal response. Think about it: Thor was the closest to killing Thanos, and because he aimed for the chest Thanos snapped his fingers. It was a matter of seconds. Thanos even teases him about it in IW. ANYONE in Thor’s shoes would feel like crap, like a failure because to him it feels like the faith of everyone who got dusted was in his hands and he was sloppy and missed and so because of him half of everyone on the planet disappeared. It didn’t matter that it was a team effort to try to bring Thanos down. The fact that in the last seconds before the snap it was just Thor and Thanos looking at each other with the latter teasing the former about not aiming right was enough for Thor to send him into depression. We could still see that it is the same Thor from Ragnarok but Thor lost so much and bottled up so many emotions that it was only natural that he’đ either have a full outburst of anger, wich he did in Infinity War or go into depression, which he also did in Endgame. So, yeah, in my opinion Thor was written pretty good. Ok, the fat jokes were kinda on the nose, but it did give us one of the best jokes in the movie when Tony called him Lebowski.
The final battle was freaking amazing even though I wanted Doctor Strange to have more screen time, but I guess he had his time in IW. Yet the moment he raised his finger and looked at Tony to let him know that was the one chance where they win was heartbreaking and utterly beautiful. Like this is it no screwing up. Now or never.
CAPTAIN AMERICA WIELDING FREAKING MJOLNIR!
What I didn’t like or had doubts about:
Tumblr media
When Thanos mentioned that he destroyed the Infinity stones he said that they were basically atoms at the point when the Avengers came to fight him about it on the farm planet. If I remember correctly 2 or 3 days passed between the snap and them going on the farm planet after Thanos so I really wanted the avengers to try and have Scott go into the quantum realm to have him reassemble the stones at an atom level. It would have been harder, sure, but it was an option. wasn’t it?I guess it could have taken longer.
I think it was already established in prior movies that the Gauntlet was the only item that could hold the infinity stones and harness their power. To me it was a bit off how Tony was able to make his own gauntlet, just because. It would have been a little bit better if they used the original gauntlet. It was still cool to see yet it took me out of the moment for a split second.
Steve’s ending. Thematically I don’t think it works. Now, don’t get me wrong I want Steve to be happy but we’ve spend so many movies establishing that Steve was, at least, partially ok with the fact that he couldn’t go back to his own time. Sure he hold on to Peggy and what she meant to him but he accepted that he had a duty, that he couldn’t live a normal life even if he wanted to and in Endgame he even was the one to urge people to move on in the post snap world. Steve is a selfless, kind person and he couldn’t and wouldn’t sit on the sidelines while others suffer. It’s just not him. He also kinda fucked up the timeline. As far as I understood (feel free to correct me on this) because he returned the stones to their original locations the timeline stayed the same, it didn’t branch like the Ancient One said it would if even one stone would be removed. So, that means that the Peggy he went back to is the Peggy from the main timeline but we were told they can’t change the past so how can he go back and be with her if it is the main timeline while also doing what he did post coming out of the ice? It boggles my mind. But putting that aside, it’s just not Steve. His whole ark was moving on. And sure when he went to the 70s with Tony he saw Peggy and maybe thought to himself that there was a chance to be with her BUT our Steve, present Steve is not the same with the one who just came out of the ice 70 years ago. Yes he’d long for and miss her and want to go back but ultimately he wouldn’t because he moved on. He had a reunion with Peggy when she was old and it was bittersweet but he had closure, in a sense.
The fact that he passed on his shield to Falcon. I know that is what happens in the comics but here we are talking about the MCU and in the MCU it does not make sense. Falcon had no ark in these movies (if I am not mistaken), and he does not have any powers of his own. He is just a guy with wings. in the comics he has powers so it makes sense to take on the mantle of Cap. In the MCU giving him the shield doesn’t mean added powers as well. Having a black captain america is an amazing concept and i’m 100% for it just not Falcon.
I found it hilarious yet awful how Banner first said that time travel is not his area of expertise only to have him later on explaining time travel to everyone. Like, you could have made Tony do it after he came back and cracked time travel. I get Banner could know some stuff but if you establish he doesn’t know then he doesn’t know.
While the CGi on Hulk was great for me it looked like uncanny valley for some reason. I know Professor Hulk is a thing in the comics but it looked so awkward and weird and it showed how the writers had no idea what to do with him like that. Banner shined when he was in his astral projection form while talking with the Ancient One but looked awkward for the rest of the movie.
Captain Marvel - yeah she had the cool cool scene at the end which I loved but I dislike her character a lot.
The plot point with Nebula being the means Thanos finds out about time travelling.
The joke at the end with Thor and Star Lord dragged on for so long and it really wasn’t funny. Except the Asgardians of the Galaxy part, that was hilarious.
Questions I had:
How did Steve return the soul stone?
If past Gamora came to the future and assuming it was the same timeline why couldn’t they go and grab Black Widow? Sure it would cheapen her sacrifice and I don’t want that to happen but it is a question that you have to wonder about.
Nebula kills her past self…and nothing happens? I mean I know Hulk said your past becomes your future and all that but it doesn’t make sense however you look at it. Except if that Nebula was from a different branch, a different reality.
If past Thanos came into the future and got killed there does that mean that the snap does not happen, assuming it is the same timeline? and if it’s not then does that mean there’s a timeline out there where the snap outright didn’t happen?
How did Thanos destroy the Infinity stones in the first place? He is the most powerful being in the MCU so far but you gotta wonder how did he accomplish such a thing.
The movie was incredibly enjoyable, it didn’t feel like 3 hours at all. It was darker than Infinity War but less solid than the former. At least in my opinion. It is truly emotional to see all of the MCU movies leading up to these 2 which are by all means masterpieces of the genre. I mean sure they have flaws but we’ve got to admit they did raise the bar a lot. Many of the MCU movies did. Some titles were bland, sure but most were not.
I’d give this movie a 9,5 out 10 which is almost perfect in my book. It was a perfect conclusion, all the time travel shenanigans and plot holes aside.

my take on endgame
(spoilers,,,, in case you needed that)
ok so endgame was so fucking good and I loved how for a poignant and finale type movie it was still hilarious
so I’m gonna list the things I liked about endgame (in no particular order)
- Clint’s motivations throughout the whole movie
- Scott’s desperation at the beginning. This seems random but since he’s treated as a comic relief character I’m glad they gave him what he deserved
- pepper + tony + morgan
- Tony’s impassioned speech towards Steve at the beginning. Considering Rhodey’s greeting in IW (he was a little too friendly...) I’m glad they brought it up and finally talked it out.
- tony ripping out the arc reactor
- tbh that entire scene
- tony + nebula at the beginning!!!!!!
- carol saving tony and nebula
- Steve rushing to greet tony when he lands
- “I went for the head”
- carol’s lesbian haircut
- Bruce coming to terms with himself
- Bruce + the ancient one having a convo
- tony + steve’s married couple convo
- tony figuring out time travel in oNe NiGhT
- Natasha’s death. I love all of the avengers but I think her death was done very tastefully and it was a fitting conclusion.
- everyone grieving nat + Thor’s denial
- Steve lifting mjolnir!!!!! + “I knew you could do it!!”
- “avengers..... assemble”
- Peter instantly being adopted by every female avenger
- carol DESTROYING thanos’ ship
- “I... am... iron man”
- Steve passing the mantle to Sam
- the ending montage of everyone getting back to their lives
now,,, things I DID NOT like about endgame:
- all the hype about the gay character. yay representation but also the Russos did Not Accomplish anything with it
- Thor’s character in general: he was depressed and had huge survivor’s guilt bUt He HaS a BeEr BeLlY hAhA
- (not a bad thing) I really wish tony would’ve lifted mjolnir at some point but personal preference I guess
- I kinda just,,, was uncomfortable with professor hulk but I like the symbolism
- TONYS ENDING: while it was fitting and he definitely should’ve been the one to snap, I think that the movie gave him such a hopeful future and took it away. It would’ve come full circle to have tony finally live without the fear of thanos and to become the father that his character arc always destined for him.
- STEVES ENDING: so I actually didn’t hate it that much but my main issue lies with the fact that Steve is not a man to just sit back and let things happen. In AOU his biggest fear is not having purpose, and later on he says that “the guy who wanted stability went into the ice 70 years ago”. I don’t really like that he just abandoned Bucky but I also do like the concept of him growing old with Peggy and having a good relationship with her.
that being said, this was such a GOOD MOVIE and I really loved it a lot!!!! these are just some opinions so feel free to respond
