Can we talk more about that entire combat last night please? Because it was so good?
They were caught by surprised by fake Ludinus, 2 Ruby Vanguards, and 2 Reiloran. By all means, they’re the underdogs.
But that wasn’t the case at all. Imogen had the idea to use lava and dragged one of the Reiloran into the lava, severely damaging it. Orym then finished it off and proceeded to kill off a Guard using lava also. Within the first 3 turns, they took out both a Reiloran and one of the Vanguard.
We had Chet going invisible and doing the smart thing of hiding the spark. FCG healing Ashton from the fire damage he’s taken.
Then of course we had that epic moment of Orym (with the help of Ashton and Launda already dealing some damage to it) killing the Juggernaut.
We had Imogen casting Lightning Bolt, instantly killing the final Guard and dropping Ludinus’ Concentration.
Finally that heartstopping Counterspell from Launda.
They came out of that battle with no scratch on them aside from the damage Fearne and Ashton had already taken before combat started.
Ludinus can pretend that no matter what he got something out of it in the end, but that still doesn’t negate the fact that the Hells had that battle handled. They took out nearly all the enemies before they had a chance to even attack.
Yes they were lucky with the counterspell rolls, but it wasn’t just luck. They’re stronger, faster, and more synchronized than ever and they came out of that battle the winners in more ways than one.

It’s such an experience to be learning about modern warfare tactics in my degree while also involved in a fandom that is deeply involved within the same topic, just within a fictional setting. I’m sitting here reading about modern military nuclear integration and there’s a part of my brain that’s like ‘I wonder how I can translate some of these lessons into a fictional context’

I wish Young Adult animation could just exist and be accepted by networks. We should have more cartoons aimed at preteens and teens. Networks keep canceling shows or not green lighting them because they think they’re “inappropriate for children to watch.” We need more shows like Infinity Train and Steven Universe Future. We need more than just children cartoons and adult cartoons. We need young adult cartoons.

Thinking about how “I Can See You” touches on the sense of excitement that’s only in the first verse of “illicit affairs,” as well as the secrecy throughout the rest of the song, and “Foolish One” covers the feelings of loneliness, emptiness, hurt, and anger that are present in “illicit affairs.”

ever heard of hardtack?
no? well.
Tumblr media
this stuff was so full of worms—and so stiff—that soldiers in the american civil war had to dump it in boiling pork fat to soften in. and when they did that, usually a bunch of little worms and critters come spilling out of this little bread brick, and they mix it up and make a slurry with their rock bread and boiled bugs. it consistently caused stomach and diarrhea issues among soldiers fighting then.
so. headcanon time!!
warriors, when he served in the army, used to eat hardtack rations like this. (wild did too, because that stuff lasts forever and it’s cheap af and could reasonably still be used in his time, but whether or not he remembers eating it is up for debate). so after all that disgusting tooth-breaking food rations, he’s always grateful to have a cooked meal, even if it’s a bit concerning like hyrule’s er…soup.
it’s a bit extreme and a but unusual to the others, but having to eat those awful “long lasting” foods for months on end made warriors incredibly conscious of the quality meals he ate each day, and he always makes sure to go out of his way to express his thanks to whoever cooks no matter what. it’s rather wholesome, especially after wild gets confused by warrior’s continued (and somewhat overbearing) thanks and the two of them end up talking and getting closer as warriors explains everything to wild

I wish we knew how Oksana felt about being trapped in this new world, because she had absolutely no say in the matter. It was Koda (Coda?) who jumped into the portal to follow Amber, not her
On the one hand she’s no longer a slave to Koda’s every whim and can just be Oksana again instead of Ballaster Kodeira and I’m sure that’s a relief, and she’s also trapped with someone she enjoys being around
But I have to imagine she also misses Founders’ Wake sometimes, since it was her home for 25+ years. She presumably has people she cares about besides Amber that think she perished when Koda did, and that’s gotta be hard on her. Not to mention she’s used to having this constant presence in her mind that gives her purpose and drives her forward, and now that’s just gone all at once. She’s got to figure out who she is without Koda’s guidance, who Oksana is, but she’s also got to do it in an unknown world with only one other person to keep her company
And I wonder if Amber feels any guilt for bringing her here, because at the end of the day she was the one who jumped through the portal first

Just saw a post by @ gothling on TikTok talking about the progression of Steddie fics going from like fix it fics to getting together fics to then established relationships fics with AUs tossed in there and it’s so true.
But I love the idea that that specific progression happens in fanfic communities cause we’re all figuring out how they would interact and what their relationship is like.
It’s like we all create the flow of their relationship as we go and god if that isn’t kinda poetic in a way.
Fanfiction and fandoms are such fascinating topics to talk about, especially because of the collaboration that happens without any of us ever actually talking.

Yes I'm joining in on this!! Avatar reader being so intrigued with the na'vi women and how open they are about sex !! - ✨
It would be such a vibe check for all parties involved.
Because the Avatar reader is so fascinated by their sexuality and how free they are with bodies and libidos.
And they Na’vi women are horrified when the Avatar reader tells them about not only how rigid the inhabitants of Earth are about women’s sexuality but about how unsatisfied everyone is.
Side note: I feel like Na’vi also have more erogenous zones that humans. And they’re like 100% more sensitive.
Like their ears and tails? Their strong inner thighs? The base of their skull- where their kuru starts?
It’s so easy to turn them on

oo a fic title game :D how about “sweetness covers the rot.”
Colress’ smile is carefully maintained. An illusion of amicability, sometimes a blatant lie. Very few see past the mask his smile puts up.
When he’s stripped of his mask, Colress is cold. He does not care about any human besides himself; he does not care what happens to the pokémon he experiments on, even the ones he raised himself. His eyes are chilled, emotionless.
And still, when Ghetsis meets his unmasked eyes, he sees warmth. This is not a lie. None of it has ever been a lie.
And, somehow, that makes his betrayal hurt worse than ever before.
