WEASLEY TWINS . . . kenny mccormick / reader

movie nights as a friend group were usually a hit or miss. there was always popcorn, snacks, sodas, juices, all taking up table space on kyle’s dining room table. he had the largest house out of the four of you, so it only made sense to hold them there.

tonight’s movie of choice was weeks in the making, the final harry potter movie having finished a few moments beforehand. you and kyle had already seen them, the both of you having been raised on the books and the movies coming out. one of your core childhood memories was going to see the sorcerer’s stone in the cinema when it had just come out.

“what did you guys think?” you asked, practically vibrating with excitement. kenny, your boyfriend of six years, slid his hand into yours, his palm flattened and fingers curled to brush your knuckles.

“in my very, very humble opinion, harry potter reigns superior to all other books and movies,” kyle drawled. it was quite obvious he was an avid lover of the series, seeing as he spent every harry potter movie night clad in his ravenclaw quidditch jersey, the horcrux locket hung from his neck and a lightning bolt scar drawn on his forehead in liquid eyeliner.

you were no better, sporting your house’s tie and matching scarf around your neck, sirius black’s wand replica held tightly in your free hand through the entire series. it was clear which characters were your favorite, sirius’s wand and the locket associated with regulus black being key indicators of both yours and kyle’s favorite pureblood brothers.

“honestly,” stan started, a pair of empty framed round glasses perched on his nose and a hufflepuff sweater wrapped around his top half. “i didn’t entirely hate it. maybe you guys aren’t all that delusional for obsessing over it.”

you roll your eyes, leaning forward to grasp the handle of your mug of butterbeer settled on the coffee table. you and kyle had spent years perfecting your real-life rendition of butterbeer, down to the consistency of the fluid and the fluffiness of the foam. in your very humble opinion, it was perfect. it left the perfect foam mustache, slid down your throat easily, and when spiked with a neutral rum, it was the perfect party beverage.

“of course we aren’t delusional, stan. there’s a reason harry potter has such a big fanbase.” you pause, your mug hiding your smile as you prepared to sip from it. “you should see the amount of ridiculous fanfictions about it. i only wish there were more sirius fanfictions out there.”

“there are fanfictions?” stan practically squeaked, looking rapidly between you and kyle. kyle gave a roll of his eyes, fingering the soft fabric of his handmade ravenclaw quilt.

“of course there are fanfictions, stan, but that’s not important right now. did you just say there isn’t enough sirius fanfiction? he’s got loads. the real travesty is the lack of regulus fics that don’t involve fucking james potter,” kyle spoke, eyebrows furrowed. you rolled your eyes, settled your mug back on the table, and fully leaned into your silent boyfriend.

“kyle, darling, as a moony kin i am absolutely devastated that my moody pureblood doesn’t have as much content as, say, draco malfoy.”

“draco‘s got fanfiction?” kenny asked, finally joining in your conversation. you shot him a disgusted look, curling up your top lip and scrunching your face.

“you like draco?” you asked, highly judgemental in tone. kenny rolled his eyes, pressed a kiss to your cheekbone.

“we all have a type, love. mine just so happens to be beautiful, judgemental people,” he mumbled into your temple, a frown on your lips from the backhanded compliment.

“if it’s any consolation, my favorite pureblood is bill weasley,” stan speaks up, drawing your attention to him.

“that honestly makes sense,” kyle drawled, fidgeting with the tv remote.

“wait,” you interject, a smile on your face. “which harry potter characters would we all be?”

there was a round of silence as you all mulled it over, your question for once taken deadly seriously.

“honestly, you and kenny are very remus and sirius. maybe the weasley twins, in a totally not-creepy-or-incest way,” kyle spoke. you gave a victorious smile, kenny reaching around for a fist bump that you indulged him in.

“kyle, i feel like you’re a mix of hermione and ginny. you’ve got, like, the intelligence of hermione and the snarkiness of ginny,” stan hummed, tossing a grin towards the ginger huddled on the couch. kyle seemed pleased, his eyebrows lifting as he acknowledged the statement.

“stan is so snape. he’s got the brooding ass attitude and the hidden romance for his best friend,” kenny mused, laughing boisterously at stan’s pink cheeks and scowl.

“i am always so nice to you,” stan whined. “and you’re always such a fucking asshole to me.”

“i’m just telling it like it is,” kenny defended, raising both his hands to protest his innocence.

“i changed my mind,” kyle hummed. “kenny, you’re draco. you’re an asshole and you don’t feel bad for it.”

kenny guffawed, looking to you for support. you shrugged your shoulders, giggling at the betrayal unfolding before your very eyes.

“i can’t defend you if they’re right,” you said through giggles. kenny huffed, blowing a few hairs away from his face. you pressed a kiss to the pout on his lips and leaned into him, knowing that by the time you got home, he’d have completely forgotten the events that transpired that night.

movie night was a disaster, as it usually was, but at least you could walk away knowing you were a weasley twin. in your books, that was an absolute fucking success.

Some of my Marauders era/Harry Potter Headcanons

Professor McGonagall was considered a patient teacher until the Prewett twins and the Marauders, so when the Weasley twins and Prongslet started Hogwarts, she just knew it would be a chaotic repeat of events.

"Well, thank you for that assessment, Mr Weasley. Perhaps it would be more useful if I were to transfigure Mr Potter and yourself into a pocket watch? That way, one of you might be on time."

Of course, we can't forget Ron. He was just as much Gideon and Fabian as Fred and George, but to a lesser degree.

He's brilliant and gets a lot of hate for always making Hermione cry (which im totally not ignoring)

Ron is an important part of the trio, even if the movies do kinda portray him as a replaceable, dickish, himbo, carrot top cunt, who purposely hurts Hermione.

**massive harry potter spoilers ahead**

hello! sorry this took me so long i went to answer you and then completely forgot to post it. also i may over/under explain things, idk how much of the series you know so sorry about that.

also this is really long, theres a tldr at the end if you want

basically in the books theyre mainly only mentioned through Snape's eyes (and snape is a racist terrorist who created torture spells - dont listen to snape stans they havent read the books) so the marauders are presented as "bullies" that used to hex people for fun.

ill admit, james potter (harrys dad) wasnt a great guy when he was younger and did take it out on snape a bit, but we're only really given the worst bits, and obviously snapes memory will have exaggerated it a bit.

the marauders were james potter, sirius black (harrys godfather), remus lupin (harrys 3rd year defence against the dark arts professor) and peter pettigrew (a traitor prick).

Voldemort (aka Tom Riddle) leads the Death Eaters, a terrorist group based around blood supremacy (hating wizards that have non-magical/muggle family members, especially parents, and arent 'pureblood' wizards), and the marauders and their friends joined the original Order of the Phoenix, lead by Dumbledore (hogwarts headmaster) against the death eaters in the first Wizarding War. Snape was a death eater, but later joined the Order as a spy for Dumbledore.

Regulus Black, Sirius' younger brother, gave up his life to help take down Voldemort, by stealing one of his horcruxes (an item that contained part of voldemorts soul, keeping him immortal) and as a fandom, we generally bloody love reg.

**this is where the spoilers start**

Peter Pettigrew, who was Wormtail in the Marauders due to his animagus (animal you can turn in to) being a rat, was part of the Order but also secretly was working as a Death Eater spy for Voldemort. As a fandom, we generally hate the bastard and wish he died sooner.

There was a prophecy made about Voldemorts death, that seemed like it was about James' son Harry. so James, Harry, and harrys mum Lily went into hiding to protect themselves.

(its worth mentioning that Lily was muggleborn - her parents werent magic - and snape had ended their 'friendship' while they were attending hogwarts by joining the death eaters, terrorising other muggleborns and then calling lily a slur. he claimed that he loved her and its supposed to be his turning point that he reveals he was secretly good bc he loved lily, but he didnt he was creepily obsessed with her. again, dont listen to the Snape stans)

lily and james made pettigrew their secret keeper, meaning peter was the only person who could tell people where they were, and peter told voldemort

voldy then came to their house, killed james and then asked lily to move out of his way (Snape had made him promise not to kill her, snape didnt give a fuck about james or harry though). lily didnt move, and sacrificed herself to protect her son. this act meant that when voldy tried to kill harry, the spell backfired, killing voldy instead of harry, and accidentally created another horcrux inside of harry. harry had a piece of voldemorts soul inside of him.

anyways harry goes to live with lily's sister and her family, and theyre incredibly abusive, and then the first book starts when harry is 11 and gets accepted into hogwarts, finding out that he's a wizard and all of the horrid shit that happened to his parents. snape hates him because harry looks exactly like james did and reminds him of lily.

sorry this was so long

tldr; we mainly see the marauders through the eyes of the terrorist group that they fought, so they look like 'bullies' but actually snape was a prick. the fandom is composed of people who know this, and most of the canon isnt relevant to us.

Tell me your hp hot takes I desperately need to know (and i am not a marauders stan so I won't care if you're negative)

i have a lot of takes so i’ll keep it to my top 10!

1) I cannot STAND regulus black. he’s barely an idea of a guy, his fanbase is a timothee chalamet circle jerk coated w the same milquetoast white sad boy w a heart of gold character they give to every run of the mill YA-male protagonist. y’all just want a pretty boy and i would respect it if y’all didn’t act like he was the messiah of the era, he fucked up his ONE moment of redemption and didn’t even do it right infact it just made Harry’s time trying to save the world harder than it had to be

2) majority of fans of the marauders just like them bc they’re aesthetics of vaguely gay best friends in a partially idealized 80s where they do not do anything but chain smoke, have relationship problems, and die. they are frat boys, they’re doing a lot of dumb shit constantly and very minor are their problems dating related

3) i don’t like the idea Sirius and Regulus were physically abused by their parents. i actually think until Sirius was placed in gryffindor he was the family golden child and relentlessly spoiled, in the same way dudley was but with his bitchy mom who was not loving but more.. like instigatey and let him get away w stuff? i do think Walburga was emotionally abusive and clearly unstable, but i cannot see her laying a hand on her precious heir to the family name, esp since we Know the black family held that in Very high regard. Sirius was different fundamentally from his family but not to the point Walburga was Beating it out of him, he was given just enough room to push until he actively chose to run away at 16

4) Pandora Lovegood Was A Ravenclaw. Only Ravenclaw Parents like That have a kid like Luna. Xenophilius also was a Malfoy, he was like Sirius and fundamentally different but only Kicked Out when he Chose to marry into the Lovegood family, taking her name. he and lucius LOOK like brothers like cmon

5) Moody is a hufflepuff that is just important to me, also i don’t think he’s that old tbh war just does that to you, but again that’s more for personal reasons

6) Peter loved his friends more than anything and never once WANTED to hurt them. him ratting out the potters was more him ratting out Harry and hoping that Voldemort would Only kill Harry, leaving Lily and James bc he couldn’t imagine a life without them, but they could Have another child (bit fucked up but he was also looking for the easy way out)

7) I think Narcissa and Sirius were the closest cousins besides Sirius and Andromeda. Narcissa was the clear favorite of her family branch and so was Sirius, they’re also the closest two in age, i think they’d get along well at least before hogwarts

8) The Black Family are BROKE as fuck! I’ve told you abt this but for the sake of the post: Grimmauld Place is Ratty and Dirty and Ugly in the middle of muggle row houses! Why would the MAIN family branch of the black family live there if they had a choice? they have no money (at least substantially) and they’re just kinda lying about it and hoping for the best, slowly becoming like the Gaunts

9) I don’t ship wolfstar bc i think Sirius is noncommittal and Remus is too depressed to do this shit rn but during hogwarts all the marauders did kiss a lil bit but in a bro way (also most marauders fans think sirius is bi and remus is gay, i see it the other way around, that’s just me tho. i feel like a lot of wolfstar fans shoehorn them into outdated mildly homophobic character types (the slutty bi, the inexperienced gay, etc)

10) James Potter is Indian and this isn’t so much a hot take as it is a fact bc Harry is brown in most fanon bc he kinda accidentally was written as brown-coded but not a lot of marauders fans seem to equate that with James. However i do think Harry is mixed in the way that he’s half indian, quarter east-asian, quarter white. (Lily is wasian and she and petunia are half sisters. you can guess what ethnicity Petunia is)

bonus: i cannot see Andrew Garfield as Remus in any context i think y’all are insane for that cus it looks nothing like him, just use his actual actor’s younger photos/movie clips??

oh hello very anonymous anon who i might have a vague idea about who it is but really im not sure this could be anyone

-look, in this world, the potters get to be salvadoran and i think effie would teach sirius about salvadoran quesadillas y pupusas y panes con Pollo (because like hell was Walburga or Orion teaching sirius how to cook, so he may be a cuban ((also not mad at a Colombian Sirius or Brazilian Sirius) bebe but he definitely took all of the Potters traditions).

-remus would fuck hard with a salvadoran quesadilla (look they melt in your fucking mouth, with a little coffee in the morning, demanding that shit every day)

-so much shit talking in spanish, McGonagall can hear pendejo from a mile away and send them both to detention. remus more than sirius for sure. (HC that sirius didn't know remus spoke Spanish until sirius muttered something unkind under his breath first year and remus LAUGHED and cat was out of the bag.)

-oh. also. and i know HC's usually go...the other way (where Sirius's parent's would've been like English Proper), but i think sirius's parents would've been super proud of their culture, and only spoke Spanish in the home, refusing to answer their children if they spoke English etc etc or out in public (even though sirius and reg both knew english). so the first year of hogwarts, Sirius was there like reformatting his brain to answer in English (and James definitely translated; we stan a supportive best friend) and made all the blunders.

-also side bar-- spells in spanish??? like bet Latinx wizards just have a whole different book of spells (mayhaps that's what makes the Black's and Other Purebloods so "powerful")

-sirius goes over to Remus's house for the first time and flips a tortilla with his bare hands (because this babe cooked with hope, for fucking sure). Hope proceeds to lose her shit- ya te puedes casar; immediately turns on the most romantic record.

-bachata at the lupins.

-tiny little bilingual harry learning english and spanish at the same time. also that like, spanish is spoken a little bit differently everywhere? i can't explain this. and tiny harry is trying to make sense of all the words that mean the same things because Sirius says it one way and Remus says it another.

-summers at Number 12 would just be endless parties? endless. everyone at hogwarts begging harry for an invite and he's like "nah, i only want my two friends and my hot boyfriend there sorry" but sirius invites everyone he's ever met--goes to diagon alley, invites his seamstress.

-dksl;s;lfjdf latinx wolfstar wedding; alcohol and singing and dancing until 4am, half the wedding is passed out in the yard. two week long celebration bare minimum.

-look i know alot of these are about food. but uh...welcome to my latinx world that is largely centered around the kitchen and family. and i just think its really cute to think about Fridays in the Kitchen with Sirius. Like an all day affair making all the favorites.

Top five fics you’ve written

top five fics i've written!!!! ok these are not necessarily recs because i am not saying they are the BEST and they are certainly not FINISHED or some of them even ACTIVE, but in terms of faves that are my little babies.......

i carry it in mine

this one has been slow on updates lately, but this was one of my first forays into writing jonsa and not just reading jonsa. i always like a soulmate au but i liked being able to do this one on my own terms, figuring out what it would mean for them personally. also honestly one of the inciting ideas was what would've happened if sansa had gone to dragonstone instead of jon, so it's been really fun playing with that and fitting them into each other's roles in those parts of the storyline.

ok i love scream!!! love scream. and i LOOOOOOVE making aus. as i've said before, my brain is a constantly generating au machine. i'm watching something new for the first time and already trying to see which of my blorbos fits in and where. but it's been really fun fitting sansa etc into the scream stories, especially with the challenge of not necessaaaaaaarily thinking it all through ahead of time and then having to work within the constraints i've created as i go. i've been letting howl 3 percolate, but i've been doing some really good thinking about it lately and i'm excited to get to it soon!

agents of shield was one of my major fandoms before i really meaningfully joined the asoiaf fandom, and as a major jemma simmons stan, i didn't always love how her storylines were handled in the show. i wanted to write this one to sort of fill in what felt like missing material after jemma came back from hydra and rejoined the team. it's just a lil thing but i think i started rewatching the show at some point in the earlier pandemic days because i'd been a season 1 appreciator and had fallen off at some point around season 5? season 4? and when i got to season 2 this just basically poured out of me. anyway!! i love jemma but i also love mack and i wanted them to be friends but also to SEE how they got there, so that was important to me.

but god can be funny

hdjghdflkgjhdkjgh tragically i never had a strong idea for the plot here. i just watched resurrection on abc and was like "what if my fave harry potter characters started coming back to life at some point in the indeterminate hp future." the drama of that!!! the emotions!!! it was too much to resist even though i didn't have a plan where i was going. i still think about some of it and still don't have any idea of what i would do with it plotwise. but sometimes i just want to have the EMOTION!!! you know????

real is a subjective concept

lmao ok i did actually start rewriting this one at some point in the pandemic and then fell off of that too and i am not necessarily proud of the writing in here (hence why i started rewriting it) BUT again i love an au!!! and i love lily evans and i love the mediator series and i loved playing with how those two things would fit together. i had/have?? ideas for multiple stories ala the different books in the series. but mostly i just loved the idea of a mediator lily, ghost james, how they might start to get to know each other and clash or help each other or become allies or friends or whatever. idk i still just love thinking about the scene of them sitting on the roof of his former frat house. i think it's special.

Deconstructing Harry: The boy we meet in Philosopher's Stone to the man in Deathly Hallows

I have often seen fans talk about how nebulous Harry is as a character, especially in the earlier books. They can't make sense of who he is as a character and other more colourful, more actualized personalities take over our attention from any traits Harry might display. Harry becomes more defined for a lot of people OOTP onwards where he displays traits that sometimes make him unbearable or unlikable.

Harry, as we are introduced in PS, has a very little sense of self. He is narratively self deprecating or plays down his presence or skills, not that he is aware he has any. He grew up without any presence of him displayed in the house - no photos, no idea about his parents or what they look like or what really happened to them and discouraged from asking questions. Harry as we meet him is neglected, rootless about his identity and longs for escape. For him, every day is a battle against Dudley, who bullies him or Vernon, thus setting a worldview that never truly goes away: him vs adults. But just because Harry doesn't attach traits or values to self, does not mean he does not have it.

It's an effective narrative tool though - for Harry to be our eyes of the world. Only in later re-readings can we get a grasp of the traits that become more pronounced as books go on. Also, it's not surprising that Harry develops a better sense of self when he is removed from an abusive home.

Let me begin with this:

1. Harry is a fighter

One of the things that struck me in later re-readings is that how much of a fighter Harry is, from the very beginning. He will not lie down and take abuse. The narrative presents it as no big deal, because Harry doesn't assign any importance to it - it's every day life for him.

-Verbal standing up-

See his reaction to Uncle Vernon and the letter fiasco. He stands up for himself, even if it falls on deaf ears. "I want my letter - as it is mine!". Later on, in the same book, a completely befuddled 11 year old Harry stands up to Snape too, but in a politer way: "I think Hermione knows the answer. Why don't you try her?". He gets less polite with Snape as books go on. Harry's humor is something he employs liberally with Dudley when standing up to him - "The poor toilet's never had anything as horrible as your head down it - it might be sick" and we see this trait manifest into the sass we all know and love.

- Fight or flight-

He is remarkably good at "fighting himself out of tight corners" as Snape put it. And although Snape attributes it to luck and more talented friends, he is onto something about Harry's ability to worm out of tight corners. He lives moment to moment in a dangerous situation - relying on his nerve, very fast reflexes and athleticism. He is also able to notice things in an environment that will get him out of a quick pinch. You see this clearly in Department of Mysteries in Book 5 where he comes up with the idea to smash shelves, the mad idea to escape on a dragon, the ministry escape where he manipulates Runcorn's image (as he noticed how people were reacting to him) to create chaos and get the Muggleborns and the trio out, Chamber of Secrets when he instinctively understood the diary is the source of power and stabbed it.

Where does the athleticism and ability to spot dangerous situation come from? This boy has spent a decade cheeking Dudley and running away from his gang, spotting when he needs to get out of the way as "long experience had told him to be out of Uncle Vernon's arms reach" or "ducking when Aunt Petunia aimed a frying pan at his head". The instinct to see a dangerous situation develops over the course of the books in his adventures - to the point Harry unconsciously brings out his wand in Tottenham road without thinking too much about it. He is almost always wary and less quick to lower his wand.

When hiding/ escaping is not an option, Harry is not above physical fighting - despite how small and skinny he is in Book 1. Both he and Dudley fight for a chance to listen at the door when letter first arrives for Harry. Dudley wins the fight. Later on, Harry jumps Uncle Vernon from behind and hangs on to his neck to get his letter. He even does the same thing to the troll in the same book. ( Then over the course of series, we see him beat up Sirius in Book 3, Malfoy in Book 5, strangle Mundungus in Book 6 - all of these are related to his fury over the dead, so different context. But still).

- Manipulation/ Cunning-

11 year old Harry even tries sneakily - waking up early to get his letter (unfortunately didn't work). The other sneaky methods he has employed throughout the series is - not telling Dursleys at end of PS that he is not allowed magic at home, threatens Dudley with it in COS, not telling them Sirius is innocent to play up the threat of a murderous godfather to keep them accountable, and also the smooth way he negotiates with Uncle Vernon for Hogsmeade letter. ("Well it will be hard work, pretending to aunt Marge that I go to St Whatsits" ,"Knocking the stuffing out of me won't make Aunt Marge forget what I could tell her"). He similarly displays his negotiation and playing to what he knows about people with Slughorn in Book 6, Pettigrew in Book 7.

The scene with Slughorn is disturbing, with Harry coercing a drunk Slughorn to give up his memory. You can argue that this is the influence of Felix Felicis, but I think the potion acted more as facilitation. The disturbing way Harry brings up his mother's murder to unnerve Slughorn is his own doing. ("Voldemort stepped over my father's body towards mum" "I forgot - you liked her, didn't you?"). Again, in a life threatening situation, Harry plays to Pettigrew's latent guilt: "You are going to kill me? After I saved your life? You owe me Wormtail!"

2. Relational justice over abstract justice

Harry's concept of justice is relational and based on his high empathy for the underdog. He notices power dynamic in a situation and empathises with the victim. This is in contrast to Hermione, who has more abstract, bigger picture view of justice. It's no wonder that Hermione is the one who is the most political of the three.

His high empathy for the underdog and needing to stand up for them is because he feels responsiblility that no one should go through what he went through. He stands up for Neville in PS and encourages him to stand up for himself. When he sees his father bullying Snape, it is not about an abstract "this is wrong behavior". Harry goes further: "Harry knew what it felt like to be taunted among a circle of onlookers" , Harry focuses on young Snape's mismatched clothes because he himself knows what it's like to wear clothes that are not yours or ones that make you look ridiculous. His empathy extends to Voldemort too - understanding why he may not want to go back to his orphanage and desire to be in Hogwarts, wondering why Merope wouldn't stay alive for her son, his fixation with Voldemort's maimed soul in King's Cross chapter and later asking Voldemort to feel remorse (" I have seen what you will become otherwise"). Even his reaction to Dobby in COS - "Can't anyone help you? Can't I?" when Dobby talks about his slavery. Hermione is usually seeing the bigger picture, Harry sees the individual.

3. Pathological mistrust of adults

He is less likely of the trio to take an adult at their words or be assured by them when they say they are taking care of things. He has learnt, from a very young age, that he is always expected to take care of himself. And the times he does take things to adult, they consistently disappoint him - by patronising him or acting like he is a child, neither of which he has tolerance for or appreciates. This is why he takes to Sirius and Lupin, who exhibit neither of these communication patterns. In some ways, Mr Weasley too.

Umbridge's abuse of him for him is framed as a battle of wills between her and him, as if he is an equal. And he loses if he complains - "not giving her a satisfaction of knowing she got to me". Harry's worldview has always been - adult vs him.

His inability to trust adults even extends to the ability of adults he likes to look after themselves. While Sirius is understandably a wreck in OOTP, he has by and large followed Dumbledore's orders. This doesn't register with Harry (Ron points it out: "Sirius listens to Dumbledore even though he doesn't like what he hears") and Harry's fears about Sirius, excaberated by Sirius's tendency for recklessness, comes to play.

He even showed similar distrust in Lupin's judgement in taking a potion from Snape in POA ("Harry felt the urge to knock the goblet out of Lupin's hands" and tries to hint at Lupin that Snape will "do anything" for DADA job). And he shows this once again with the most magically powerful wizard he knows - Dumbledore. ("if I tell you to abandon me and save yourself, you must do so". Dumbledore has to insist on this before Harry nods reluctantly. It's also Dumbledore's wording, but this is a wizard Harry feels safe with almost entirely because of his power - and yet Harry cannot obey an order like this without reluctance). It's not about Harry's own ability to take care of them - he just innately cannot leave people to it.

4. Humor as a value and coping mechanism

Harry has an established coping mechanism by the time we are introduced to him - quip in the face of danger/ dark humor. There are repeated instances of Harry amusing himself with snarky comments in his head when things are really bad for him. Like in PS, when they are in the hut, Harry wonders if the roof will fall in and then thought that if it did fall in, he might be warmer. In the earlier books (before his growth), he seems to value Ron over Hermione simply because he is more "fun". Harry enjoys being around funny people like Ron, Weasley twins, later Ginny simply because there is some dark stuff happening with him and he needs "fun" people for semblance of normalcy, escape. In fact, this desire is so strong, he attaches it to his romantic relationships: Ginny is a "blissful oblivion" and times with her are "something out of someone else's life". His relationship with Cho failed because her coping mechanism is discussing her trauma and Harry's is escaping it.

-dealing with conflict with people he likes, small digression-

A part of his growing up in later books includes valuing Hermione as much he values Ron and we see it in display in HBP, where he is more willing to stand up for her to Ron (something he kind of did more quietly before in POA - "can't you give her a break?" ) and also get confrontational with her instead of using Ron as a buffer between them to fend off her more boisterous/ bossy tendencies. ("let him make up his mind" "skip the lecture" "don't nag" - Ron took the heat in earlier books. In HBP, Harry is more willing to be irritable with her in a day-to-day interaction - "I hope you enjoy yourself" he tells Hermione when she states her intention to investigate Half Blood Prince. Or when she tests the book - "Finished? Or do you want to see if it does backflips?" "Do you have rub it in Hermione, how do you think I feel now?" at the end of HBP. ) In OOTP, his best method to deal with her when she bothers him was lying, avoiding her nagging and if that doesn't work, explode and treat her to display of his temper. There is more to explore here, of course - even with regard to how he deals with Mrs Weasley in Book 4, 5 and the difference of him hugging her in Book 7.

5. Fascination with the dead/ a passive death wish

Harry feels remarkably little sense of betrayal knowing that he was set up to die by Dumbledore. His self sacrificing streak is rooted in his love, yes, but I also think Harry is a little bit too fascinated by death, not surprising considering most people he loved are dead. Him wanting the resurrection stone in DH, him obsessively spending time at Mirror of Erised (to the point he feels feverish and Ron thinking he looks strange) until Dumbledore stops him, him almost wanting to fail to learn a Patronus because he wants to hear his parents voice, the hearing of whispering voices in the Veil in OOTP which only Luna could hear apart from him, the scene at the grave where he almost wishes he was "lying under the snow" with his parents, the possession scene in the book of OOTP has him wishing to die so he can be with Sirius. You can almost argue the Harry has, in many moments, shown raw desire of death. In fact, him choosing to let go of the stone and not go looking for it is a big character decision for him.

I also want to address Harry's temper and how that develops over course of series, the implications of understanding the people he loved and put on pedestal are flawed - but I am afraid this post is already way too long. So I will leave that for some time later.

Yall, dark academia is my best friends’ and mine aesthetic and its so pleazing. Like god damn. Angelcore is amazing so soft and uwu. Do I even have to say anything fir e-girls? No, I would just do them an injustice. Love ya and sorry for the inactivity.

-Like he wears dark brooding colors, mainly shades of purple to match his hair and maybe some greens while you on the other hand always have a black and red combo or some sort of stripped item of clothing.

-You share beanies.

-It has become an unspoken rule that you two will always go for beanie shopping every october.

-Your style kinda changes according to the month.

-Like during september you wearing mainly greys to match your sour mood bc school, during october since its spooky season you wear oranges and purples matching your boyfriend perfectly while January and December are red months.

-Those are his favorite.

-Red brings out the color of your lips making you look even more fearsome and badass, turning him on in the process.

-Yes I said it, Shinsou will beg for red lipstick.

-He’s semi worried for your hair.

-You keep changing it and he doesn’t mind when you cut it, oh no he finds your bangs or pixie cut adorable.

-He is worried when you change colors like you chnage clothes.

-He liked all your phases.

-The skank stripe and half-half ones being his favorites but he will ask you to tone it down a bit give your hair some time to rest and regain their strength.

-Yall paint your nails.

-You will spend endless hours in his room just painting each others nails and doing face masks.

-He looks so content when you two are just sitting there listening to trash rap songs and taking care of each other.

-Actually you can’t wear those anymore bc once he sees you you can’t really walk anywhere afterwards....

-He is all about your chains and chokers.

-Like give him some he is jealous.

-Baby really be thriving while dawning those fake silver chains.

-If you are interested in more intracate make up he loves being your test subject and just lets you transform his face into whatever deity you want.

-Tends to scroll through your tik tok because its full of witch toks and very very interesting cosplays and makeup stuff.

-Somehow he found himself into anti trump tik tok and he cant get out..... then his fyp shifted to draco tok and he just gave up.

-Deadass has a whole folder on his laptop with couples outfits he wants to recreate at some point.

-He’s just so wholesome.

Aizawa Shouta

-He really can’t understand how he managed to get such a fashion icon of a wife.

-I mean have you seen the way this man dresses?

-Head empty just Aizawa with pink sweatpants.

-Yeah so he really doesn’t get it how he managed that but he isn’t complaining.

-I mean have you seen the dark academia aesthitic.

-It gives Maraurders vibes and we stan.

-He loves it when you wear long coats and those scarfs.

-They make you look like such a lady and so sophisticated and he lives for it.

-He really likes the plaid skirts and pants, makes him think that he is living with an English lady or maybe a philosophy teacher.

-Have I mentioned how much he adores your vintage book obsession?

-Going to old bookstores together and just browsing through the poetry books or the fantsy novels has become one of his favorite past times.

-He tries to somewhat keep up with you but he struggles.

-He really has no fashion sense but he wants to try for you.

- “Honey you don’t have to dress up for me! I love you just the way you are.”

-He loves you so much like omggggg!!!!

-Anyways.

-Rainy days have become book dates where you just snuggle up together on the couch in a large fluffy brown blanket and you both have a book in your hands reading away.

-He loves the little expressions you make when you are reading something interesting or staright up crazy.

-He bought you your very own round -Harry-Potter-style glasses for your birthday.

-You had been going on and on for some months now about how you wanted to go and buy a pair but you never got around to it.

-Being a teacher at UA and a hero is kinda hard and a busy job so we get you.

-You were so excited when he gave them to you.

-Um for Halloween you two went as James Potter and Sirius Black.

-He has the hair, okay maybe he is lacking that care free and cocky attitude but visually he does a good job.

-Seeing him in that suit oh boy.

-Really your realationship is just full of Harry Potter references since you are kinda obsessed with that Era, especially the Marauders.

-Hizashi is lowkey jealous because he could never get AIzawa to dress nicely.

-He does what you tell him to in reality.

-He’s kinda wrapped around your finger.

Bakugou Katsuki

-He gets flustered so easily.

-Like your aesthetic is so soft and angelic and compared to him people think you have a corruption kink.

-He kinda feels bad bc when you dress like something god sent it because painfully clear how opposites you are.

-He sees his rough edges and rude behavior more than usual and he may become self concious.

-You will have to reassure him and remind him that this is a facade and that he knows your true evil nature.

-You are a true menace.

-ANyone trying to fuck with your friends or your boyfriend?

-They are getting round house kicked and yeeted out a window.

-Back to your aesthetic.

-Whenever he seas something pastel or colorful he wants to immediately buy it.

-Especially pastel stuff.

-Pastel is your whole thing.

-Pastel pinks, blues, purples, and greens.

-He will buy anything, from a headband to a purse to a very very cute plaid skirt.

-Kirishima and Denki are always so confused when he comes back to the common room with a few bags from womens’ clothing stores.

-He never answers their questions of course.

-He likes watching you make mood boards and create matching outfits.

-Trying clothes in fornt of him is a must, a small fashion show taking place in your room every Friday night.

-He likes to believe that you truly are an angel.

-Your aesthetic is a combination of angelcore and cottage core so your room is split into two sides.

-One side full of plants while the other had pastel mood boards.

-So pleasing.

-You tried to shift him into your aesthetic once.

-AND IT WAS ATRAUMATIZING EXPERIENCE.

-He looked so good in white and soft yellow but his mood was so so foul.

-He had made you agree to never a) bring this up and b) try this again.

-You have taken some photos though so not eveyrthing was lost.

-You will never tell him that you have evidence of his cottage core moment.
