Okay, okay, so he's a bit drunk, but has that ever bothered you before? Stumbling into your chambers late at night, the heat from the alcohol reddened his pale cheeks and kept him from standing upright. A long night of hopping from tavern to tavern, groping serving women, gambling all his coin away, and watching two men brawl in the street, Aegon craved the comfort of his bed. His brain felt slightly fuzzy from the ale he'd piled himself with, and he leaned against the first piece of furniture he reached. He shut his eyes for a moment, shaking his head, but this only made him dizzier.
"Rough night, my love?"
Aegon looked further into the chamber, where he saw the bath tub placed near the crackling fire. Your nakedness was the first thing he noticed. His eyes glued themselves to the tops of your breasts where the water surface began. Aegon fumbled with the clasp of his cloak, laughing softly at the sight of you. In his drunken haze, he'd forgotten the slight bump in the middle of the water. Your baby. His baby. The child you'd created together eight months ago swelled his wife's belly slowly but surely. The maester told him rigorous activity is to be avoided considering the princess's delicate condition, but Aegon could keep it gentle. Something about seeing you pregnant brought out a glow in you. It aroused him to see you full with his child; carrying the newest Targaryen born to his legacy. Another little dragonrider, like his brothers and sisters.
Four children later, and he still finds you to be the most desirable woman in all Seven Kingdoms. He might pinch a bottom or stare at naked breasts when in his eyeline, but no woman in the world compared to how you made him feel. Finally managing to discard his cloak, he tore off his stained shirt as he walked over to you. Messy, greasy waves of silver fell in his face, but he kept you in his sights.
"Nearly lost everything I had on me because a man got his second wind half way towards the end of a fight," he said, working on the strings of his breeches, but his fingers clumsily knotted them by accident. The heat of arousal started working its way through his lower half. "Then, I watched these two whores get into a fight over this old, fat lord who'd come walking in with pockets full of gold."
"So, it was exciting at least?"
"It was." He grunted to himself as he managed to undo the knot, "I wish you'd come. You haven't gone outside the keep in a long time." He snorted when he finally undid the lacings and tugged down the breeches. He saw your eyes twinkle at the sight of his flaccid dick. "I miss us going out together."
"You know I don't like leaving the keep when I'm pregnant," you said, your fingers trailing through the soapy water. "Besides, we have children now, Aegon. We can't run off into the city, frolicking around like two unhinged, shameless scoundrels anymore."
"I'd hardly call you a 'scoundrel'," he nearly fell down taking off his boots, but he kept himself firmly on the ground. Aegon specifically asked for a large tub when you finally married. He knelt beside the tub, using the edge to keep himself steady, "You were a goddess." He pushed hair from your face and stared at you fondly. "I remember the time we both went to The Blue Pearl, and we had sex with those Dornish twins?"
"Aegon," you giggled and patted his cheek, "How much have you had to drink?"
"Not enough that I can't get it up for you," he smirked, cupping your chin to kiss you. "I remember," he looked at you with lust in his eyes, "You laying right next to me as one girl kissed your lips and the other kissed your pretty cunt..." He briefly kissed you again. You never minded the wine or beer or ale on his lips. He put his hand in the lukewarm water, trying to find your thighs before asking, "Why is the water so tepid?"
"It's as hot as the maesters will allow."
"Dragons need heat," he said, running his hand on your belly. "Looks like you need me to keep warm."
"I'm pregnant, Aegon," you said between his kisses, "We're meant to take things gently."
"I'll give it to you gently, my love," he replied, pecking your lips. "Let me help you out. Our bed is warmer."
He lifted you to your feet, and removed the linen dress you'd worn into the tub. Your wet, naked body glistened in the fire light nearby. His eyes drank up the heavy curves of your body as it adapted to the new life growing inside you. Aegon brought you into his arms, slowly kissing you while he brought you towards the bed nearby. His body sobered up immediately at the possibility of bedding you. You rested back on the pillows, and he rested himself between your legs. He stayed bent over you, your belly keeping him at a distance, and kissed you deeply. He hardened when his hand found your breast, growing cold and hard from the recent change from warm to cold. He continued going down your neck to one nipple, and gave a soft peck.
"We did have some fun times, didn't we?" you sighed, running your hands in his hair while he started suckling your breast. "The horseback races are still my favorite."
"Especially when we're on the same horse," he said, "And my cock just happens to slide right inside you." He rolled his tongue over your hardened nipple, flicking it right over the center. "I don't think you ever came as hard or as quickly before."
"I couldn't help it," you giggled, grinding yourself into him so he whimpered on your skin. "Being in front of all those people, the horse galloping and bucking fast down the street, and having your hard cock buried in me...It felt even better when we stopped and you finished in me."
Aegon felt your sex brush lightly against his cock, and he couldn't help grinding back into you. Your lips found his again as you shifted around to grab him. It'd been too long. His body let him know that with how quickly the blood in his pumped through his member. He tried not fucking you during pregnancies, because they can be so delicate, but he can't help it tonight. Your breasts in his hands, your hand gliding over his shaft and your lips locked with his own, the fire inside him burned hot. Too hot. His tongue brushed up against yours as you opened your mouth for him; your soft moans went into his, and he replied with his own.
"The children?" he asked quickly, pecking at your chest again.
"All asleep," you told him. "Mya and I put them down hours ago."
This information encouraged him to go farther. Nothing ruined a moment more than being hilt-deep in your wife and one of your children barges in, crying about a nightmare. Aegon kissed down your body, stopping at the middle for extra kisses, before reaching the middle of your thighs. He ran his hands up and down them as he peppered kisses on your inner thighs. Your pussy, his favorite thing in the entire world, sat right in front of him. Aegon knew from the first time you made love that he'd never find another one like yours. He thought back to those Dornish twins, who lapped and sucked your clit while he slid his dick into your mouth. You two had many fun excursions into sexual deviance together, but nothing compared to a nice one-on-one with the light of his life. Finally, he ran his tongue over the very center when he felt you shudder in his hands. Your belly kept him from seeing your expressions, but this didn't matter. It was your sounds that aroused him. Aegon gyrated against his mattress while he traced his tongue lightly over each fold, before taking it in his mouth to suck on lightly. Every brush on the soft sheets made him groan into you, vibrating around your throbbing clit each time. Soon, he tasted your slick, juices on his tongue and went faster.
He then heard you giggle and looked up, "What? Are you not feeling anything?"
"No, no, keep going," you insisted, pushing his head down. "I was remembering the first time Mother caught you doing this to me..."
"Oh," he chuckled, getting back to business, "So do I. She was horrified. You'd think she'd never seen it before."
"To be fair," you sighed, eyes closed and head into the pillows, "I was sitting on the window ledge naked where anybody could see or hear me."
"That's what made it fun though," he smiled, kissing your soaked sex again. "I recall the sweet little noises you made while I did it," he hummed on you, "And how hard you came right when she walked in." He slipped a finger inside you without warning, which made you jerk for a moment before adjusting to his finger, "I also remember my jaw hurting after that."
"Well, if you'd been honest and told me that you had no idea what you were doing," you said, "We wouldn't have had that problem."
"I definitely know what I'm doing now, though, don't I?" He added a second finger and began pumping them into you while his thumb rubbed your clit. "Don't I, Wife? Don't I?"
"Yes, yes, you do!"
So much so it resulted in multiple pregnancies. Aegon continued humping the bed while fingering you. He listened to your whimpers and cries whenever he stopped, taking a break with his hand and using his mouth on you instead. He thought back to the first time he tasted you. He'd seen two women doing it in a brothel, and wanted to do it to you. It'd been your idea to do it on the window. He'd spent ages figuring out which spots made you squeal; what spots had you whimpering and begging him to stay there and keep going. When you finally climaxed, he didn't even notice his mother there. Aegon had been too caught up in his own satisfaction to care; right then, he knew he'd never want another one. He'd only crave yours.
The moment he couldn't take his own teasing anymore, he knelt in front of you and aligned himself with your body. He looked down to see you panting, licking your lips and pleading with him. He'd never seen a more beautiful sight before. In a swift movement, Aegon slid himself into your hole all the way to the base. Pinned deep inside you, he remained there a few seconds to enjoy your pussy throbbing. Your walls hugged his length, as if pulling him further in, and he could feel your clit wetting the pubic patch above. He loved every second of it. Aegon swore he could cum simply staying inside you long enough. But, judging by your winding hips, he knew what you wanted...what you needed. The last time had been so quick and so long ago, he wanted to take his time. He kept a gradual, gentle speed while he rubbed your clit with his hands: both his thumbs kept rubbing over it one after the other, massaging and keeping it hard while he rocked back and forth. As much as he enjoyed watching you squirm, he really wished to pound you into the bed.
"Do you still enjoy it?" you asked, pulling him down to you for a kiss.
"Enjoy what?" he asked in your kiss, "What? This?"
"Yes..."
"Of course, I do," he hooked his arms under your shoulders, bringing you even closer, and began bottoming up into you. "I love nothing more, in all fairness." He kissed along your jaw to your ear, "Why? Did you suddenly stop liking this?"
"I've had four children, Aegon."
"So?"
"Mother says it loosens up over time," your head tilted back as he started picking up his pace, "I worry...I worry one day I might not be tight enough-"
"-Trust me," he laughed, eyes closing as your pussy clenched him, "You are plenty tight for me, my love. Always have been. You'll get no complaints from me."
Staying pressed against you, looking at your face and kissing you, both of you came together. Your fingers intertwined with his at your sides, and your legs went around his waist to bring him even closer. The only time Aegon ever felt close to anyone; the only time his heart and mind became one with another person was when he was with you. All thoughts of his drunken night in King's Landing faded away at the arrival of your trembling, shaking, hard orgasm. You chanting his name as he kept the right rhythm was better than any tune a bard can sing. Aegon withdrew in time to avoid finishing within you, letting it spill onto your thigh inside while he buried his face into the pillow to muffle his groans.
The post-orgasm glow came in the form of soft kisses and cuddling naked on the bed. He'd clean you up later, of course, but right then he wanted to hold you. You two did not have moments like this very often; there's usually a child nearby or about to come around the corner for something. So, for the moment, Aegon soaked up whatever bit of you he can before morning.
"When I have the baby," you said, watching him fight off sleep to look at you, "We should go into town together like we used to. I'll put on my peasant girl clothes, and we can run amok as we did when we were younger." You smiled, "Maybe go on another horse ride together?"
"Or visit The Blue Pearl," he added, eyes half-open. "Those twins probably aren't there, but gods they had good wine and pretty girls."
"And boys."
"And boys."
You pecked his lips one final time as the pair of you drifted off to sleep. He'll regret the drinking in the morning, when he's surrounded by his children at breakfast, but he wouldn't regret fucking you. He never did. ****
A/N: yaaay more Aegon content! I really like writing dad!Aegon, so I'll probably do more of him.

Calling Them By Real/Full Name.[MONDSTADT VER]
Warning: Pure Crack, a bit angst[on jean], jealous reader [jean], fluff [jean], you can see the fav, some characters real name spoiler.
Headcanon:- Calling someone you close/love by their full/real name can sometimes strike fear inside them. But sometimes calling their full/real name affectionately can make them melt inside.
Characters:- Diluc , Kaeya and Jean
Diluc:-
Once again, Diluc forgot about you two dinner nights to chase after some Fatui guys. You sit there on the Tavern chair seething in anger while Kaeya tries to calm you down.
“i-I’m sure he just wants to get you some flowers?” Kaeya smile nervously flinching in fear when you glare at him, “One more word, Kaeya. You going to wear two eyepatches.” You manage to shut the male.
Diluc enters the Tavern with a tired sigh, his expression twisting in displeasure when he sees Kaeya but brightening when he sees you. He seems ignorant at how a dark aura seeps out of you and the warning look Kaeya gives him.
“My love.” You cut him off with a dark smile, “  Diluc Ragnvindr.” The way Diluc's face becomes more pale hinting that he realizes his mistake, you jump out of the chair summoning out your weapon, “You going to meet you father-” Kaeya quickly wraps his arms around your torso lifting you from the floor yelling, “Diluc, ruun!!”
The red hair male does not need to be told twice, kicking down the tavern door he frantically throws himself out of the door to avoid your wrath, and perhaps this time he should stay out of regions for another year until you calm down [again].
Kaeya:-
You feel your eyebrows twitching in anger as you wait inside your boyfriend's office room waiting for him to come back from his so said patrol. Standing beside you are Traveler and Paimon, eyes still red from the crying. Early today the two come to you crying, complaining that Kaeya lies to them about some treasure and force them to become bait for some treasure thief.
Having a soft spot for the honorary knight and their companion, you decide to scold the male for them only to find out that the male is currently at Tavern drinking in the middle of the day and annoying his brother.
Your eyes snap at the door when it clicks open revealing your boyfriend, he smiles widely when he sees you but confused at the sight of the traveler and Paimon.
“ Kaeya Alberich.” He went rigid at your tone, smiling nervously he take a step back only to let out a yelp when the door suddenly slam shut. You stand up from the chair summoning your weapon, “Say hi to crepus for me~”
Lisa and Jean look up from their work when they hear the familiar scream of Kaeya, “And here you thought he learn his lesson.” Jean sighed.
Jean:-
She didn’t come back home, again. You sit on the couch in your shared home living room glaring at the clock on the wall, it’s already morning and another new day, and your fiance still hasn’t come home. It’s been a week and you start to think that the headquarter is her home rather than here.
It’s her idea for you two to move in together and now, she is the one who rarely comes home. She always says she is busy, with too much paperwork to do, then why did she have time to spend a day with Lisa than her lover.
The front door creaks open making your eyes snap toward the door revealing a very tired-looking Jean, she looks in your direction and smiles softly at the sight of you but you just click your tongue and look away from her, puffing your cheeks.
She looks confused at first, entering the house, she takes a seat beside you calling your name softly, and asks what’s wrong, “...Go spend more time with Lisa...” You grumble, “This is not your actual home, right..” She looks shocked at your words, looking at her lap guiltily she leans forward until her forehead hit your shoulder, you flinch at first but let her stay there.
When she see you didn’t move away from her, she wrap her arms around you leaving a soft kiss on your shoulder before snuggling her face on the croak of your neck. “J- Jean Gunnhildr!” You try to say her name in a stern tone but she just sighs liking the way you say her name, “Yes? “ She says your name back but instead of your last name, she put her last name onto it. You finally give in shifting around wrapping your arms around her bringing her close to you, Jean beaming at you pushing you down on the couch cuddling you to her heart's content.
Goddamnit,  you over-working woman, just come back home. I don’t want C2 Diluc, I just want jean.

Fem! Teacher Reader x Teacher! Eddie

AN: Heyo! So I was watching Abbott Elementary and got sad, so there’s that. Hopefully, this will be a multiple-part thing but do not expect regular updates. I am a busy gal, lol. Also not heavily edited!
WARNINGS AND CONTENT: Minors DNI!!!, Noncanon, Hawkins AU, Normal Hawkins, Rumors about Eddie, Eventual Smut, Very fluffy, Outcasts and Bullying, Mentions of Loneliness, Flirting, Fem!Reader, use of Y/N, older! Eddie, short-haired Eddie, 1995/1996 Hawkins, F! Reader has a dark past, angst.
Summary: The last thing anyone expected Eddie Munson to do once he graduated was to go off to get an Education degree. Now he’s approaching 30 and the coolest music and drama teacher in Hawkins. Enter you, a new teacher at Hawkins Middle School. You moved to the little sleepy town of Hawkins from the city, hoping to give kids joy in learning while also settling into a calmer town. You meet Eddie while moving your stuff into your classroom, and he piques your interest. But people talk, and you can’t help but wonder…Is he the monster they claim he is?
You walk through the doors, arms heavy with the large box full of posters and decor for your classroom. You walk briskly through empty hallways, cursing yourself for not asking the nice older woman working the front desk for some assistance. Finally, you turn one of the labyrinth hallways into what should be your hall. English. You sigh out of relief. For such a small town and school, you felt as though the hallways went on forever. You’re about to turn into your room when you hear rambunctious laughter and shouting from a nearby hallway. Your curiosity is peaked. It’s late in the summer. Most teachers are here to set up, but some are home, enjoying the days before the school year starts.
You scurry to put your box haphazardly in your classroom, the only one devoid of posters and books. You then walk as quietly as you can in your heels, the soft clicking against the tile almost silent with all the excitement in the classroom. Finally, finally, you reach a point where you can peek into the door, seeing the back of a man dressed in a dark flannel, the sleeves rolled up so you can see the tattoos littering his skin and rings on his hands, his nails painted a chipped black. His hair is wild and wavy, cut shorter on the sides and longer on top. He speaks animatedly to a group of young kids, all of them seemingly 13 or 14. They look at him with stars in their eyes, and it tugs at your heartstrings.
“So upon the last blow by Lady Eda,” He gestures to the petite girl to his left, her hair in colorfully beaded twists, her shy grin with a mouthful of rainbow braces. The rest of the kids sit on the edge of their seats, awaiting the following words. “The mighty and powerful dark wizard is laid to rest!” The kids erupt in joy, shouting and jumping out of their chairs, a few members hugging the petite girl you assumed was ‘Lady Eda.’ The mysterious man clears his throat again, and the kids rush to their chairs and sit intently. “You are cheered on by the crowd of townspeople, all leading you to the tavern, where you sing and dance the night away. The town is now free of his evil. Congrats, heroes.” He speaks warmly in his raspy tone, the kids in front of him beaming and seeming to burst with joy. “And with that-” He puts down a folder and folds up some journals, “We finish the campaign.” He gets up, showing you the distressed and torn jeans and combat boots on his lower half. “Now get out of here, twerps. I’ll see you with the new fish soon. You can show them the ropes.” The excited chatter continues; the kids grab their bags and stuff their things in them. They all hurriedly leave the classroom, finally noticing you and seeming to tone their excitement, nodding a ‘hello ma’am’ to you, except for ‘Lady Eda.’ She sticks behind, enveloping the man in a tight hug as he chuckles and hugs her back, leaning down and gently telling her to enjoy the rest of her summer. She nods excitedly, running out the doors after her friends, barely noticing you.
You peer out of the shadows, knocking on the door frame, seeing the man gather up his stuff and mutter at a volume so low you almost miss it, “Fucking Doyle.”
You furrow your brows and smile a bit, amused by the mystery of this man and his evident hatred for a teacher you knew was in your hallway. “I’m no Doyle, but it’s nice to get a feel for who I should avoid,” you joke, your tone light.
The mystery man attempts to stand up quickly from his bent position of picking up things, hitting his head on the edge of a desk, “Oh- I- Shit!”
You fight a smile, biting your lip at this man who’s quite a character. You expected mostly bored housewives and businessmen in Hawkins, but it was shaping up to shock you quite a bit.
He carefully got up this time, holding a hand against his head and spinning on his heel. His big brown doe eyes and a slight smattering of freckles make your heart jump a bit. He had smile lines and a shy smile, his facial hair short and scruffy. You feel your cheeks heat. Fuck. You didn’t expect a young man around your age who was so damn attractive at Hawkins Middle School, of all places.
His face broke out into a shy crooked grin as he walked towards you, a hand held out towards you. “Hi. I’m Eddie Munson. You can just call me Eddie. I teach music and drama. I also run the DnD club here- that’s what the kiddos were doing here.”
You shake his hand gently, feeling the calloused fingertips against your palms. “Hi. I’m Y/N Y/L/N. You can call me Y/N. I’m teaching English. I’m down that way,” you point back towards your hallway.
He nods, smiling, removing his hand from yours gently. “Well, nice to see someone younger than the dinosaurs in that hallway.”
You snort, feeling heat creep across your skin immediately and covering your mouth. “Sorry- Is it really that bad?”
He nods, and his face molds into a false sorrow and pity expression. “I heard that Mrs. Winnow was around at the birth of Christ.”
You snort again, another laugh bursting as you smile at Eddie. “You’d think with that kind of life, she’d be teaching history, wouldn’t you?”
Eddie grins devilishly, shaking his head. “Nah, she’d immediately make all the other teachers obsolete. They need their jobs.”
You grin, your heart pattering with joy at the young coworker. You were glad to find someone in a similar age range. So far, you only met your neighbors in your rundown apartment, who were around 40, and a few coworkers, who were above 50.
Eddie cocks his head at you, leaning against the doorway, his arms crossing his chest, covering his distressed Metallica concert shirt. “So, you’re new to Hawkins, huh?”
You laugh humorlessly, sighing, looking up at him. “That obvious, huh?”
He smiles softly, an expression reading I’m sorry. “Eh, most of us grew up here. It’s not a town that people are really flocking to. So what brings you here?”
You fiddle with a loose thread on your blouse, biting your lip. You don’t want to say too much, so you shrug and smile. “I wanted some change from the big city. So I closed my eyes, spun around, and pointed at a map. Lo and behold, fate decided Hawkins.”
He nods and still has a crooked smile as he turns, grabbing up his messenger bag full of items you assumed he used for the campaign. “Well, let me know if you want to meet some living humans, not fossils. I have a few friends here, and none are quite at retirement age yet.” He grabs a piece of paper he had about, jotting on it quickly, then handing you the parchment, smiling. “My number. In case you want to take me up on the offer.”
You pocket the number, looking up to thank him. You look up, and his back is turned toward you as he exits the school, lifting his hand and waving while calling over his shoulder, “Bye, city girl! Good luck with the fossils.”
You fight a smile as you walk back to your classroom, your fingers brushing the parchment in your pants pocket.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once you set up your classroom, sweat dripping down your forehead, you realize you have no books for your bookshelf. You frown, biting your lip. The classroom looked terrific, with posters for books you felt were classics and a few inspirational ones. With soft lamps and lights along with the desks arranged, you should be satisfied. You curse yourself, knowing a teacher’s salary is not enough to splurge on books, but you can’t help but hate how only the textbooks are on the shelf. You head out of the school, determined to get more leisure reading books for your future students.
You head to a local bookstore, fondly named ‘Hit the Books.’ An older man with small glasses is behind the counter explaining to a very disinterested edgy teen how to use the register. You look at the expansive store, surprised how it could stay open in such a small town with so few customers. Next, you head over to the Young Adult and Children’s section. You grab a few books, holding them in your arms as you walk from aisle to aisle. Eventually, your stacked up to your chin with books, struggling to hold them. You hear a chuckle behind you and cautiously turn, waddling like a penguin to avoid spilling novels everywhere.
There stands Eddie, his grin clear as day. He’s missing his flannel, now just in a short sleeve, his tattoos in full view and adding to his grungy look. “You need help? It seems like you’re carrying a library there.”
You feel heat travel across your skin and shake your head, backing up a little, “I got it-” You almost trip, Eddie catching you by your shoulder, and his eyes twinkle with amusement.
“I think I’ll help anyway,” He grabs half of the stack of books, his own at the bottom. You spot ‘Merlin’s Woods,’ a book you recognized as one that had been among the fantasy books for teens and children. You fight a bit of a smile at this, Eddie helping you to the register. The young teen girl lights up at his appearance, her thick black eyeliner exaggerated by her wide blue eyes. The older man, however, looks on in a bit of disdain, making you frown slightly.
“Mr. Munson! How’s it going?” The young girl asks, clearly more alert than before, ringing up your books along with Eddie’s. You’re about to interrupt her and let her know you’ll pay for your own when Eddie squeezes your hand without looking at you, smiling and catching up with the girl. Eddie then looks at you after paying, a smile on his lips.
“Do you need help lugging out this library to the car-”
The older man, still gruffly bothered by Eddie’s presence, shoves a box in the young girl’s arms and hands Eddie his book. “Don’t worry, Mr. Munson; Julia can handle it.”
The young teen Julia looks at the older man in protest, her brows furrowed. “Mr. Munn, I’m supposed to work the -”
He cuts her off, holding up a hand. “Shush. Go help the missus with her books.”
She groans, mumbling as she stacks the books in the box. You look to Eddie, his smile faltering as he looks at you, holding his book. Something tells you the bookstore worker does not like Eddie. Something else tells you that Eddie knows. You open your mouth to say something before Eddie clears his throat, glancing at Mr. Munn.
“I guess I better head out. I’ll see you around,” He says softly, smiling at you gently before turning and quickly jogging to a motorbike outside. You watch him sling a leg over the bike and drive away, feeling a twinge of hurt and sadness. It may not have been your fault, but you couldn’t help but feel for Eddie.
“Careful with who you surround yourself, Miss. That Munson boy is trouble. He may have straightened out a bit since heading to college, but he is still a bit delinquent. Be careful,” The old man gruffly tells you, pointed looking at you over his glasses. “You look like a nice girl.” You feel your skin prickle with disdain and heat travel from the back of your neck across your chest. Nice girl. You hate that phrase. It meant docile. Obedient. You ignored the older man’s stare, turning towards Julia.
“C’mon, my car is out here.” You lead the young disgruntled teen toward your modest, rundown car, opening the trunk. She huffs as she places the box in the back, clearly heavy for her small frame. You close the trunk and turn towards her, about to utter a thank you, when she stares hard at the floor and kicks a small pebble before sighing.
“Mr. Munson isn’t a bad guy. Just so you know,” she softly says, looking up at you, her big eyes full of sincerity.
You nod and smile softly, “I figured. But do you mind me asking why Mr. Munn is so set against him?” You tilt your head at her, and she huffs out a breath, annoyance at the older man clear across her face.
“Some dumb old rumors the geezer still believes from the ’80s. Mr. Munson was the town’s troublemaker and outcast. There are a lot of crazy rumors about him. I don’t think they’re true, but he never tries to disprove them. He came back to help outcasts feel safe at school. Give them a teacher to trust,” The young girl’s voice is thick with emotion, and you can picture she was one of the outcasts Eddie helped. It pulls at your heartstrings.
“Well, thank you, Julia. I appreciate your help. And don’t worry, I won’t listen to the rumors,” You playfully wink at the girl as she weakly smiles and waves goodbye before retreating into the small shop.
You climb into your car, starting up the engine as you bite your lip and wonder…
Who really is Eddie Munson?
Sickness is Green
Kaveh x male-reader one shot
Kaveh is fucking special to me and I love him. Inspired from his voiceline When It Rains. Once again he had forgotten to grab an umbrella before setting off the meet a client. Of course, he didn't check the weather before he left so in the middle of the meeting it started to rain. Obviously, without an umbrella he got sick.
Tumblr media
After a while of living with Alhaitham, Kaveh decided he had enough with his keys getting stolen, enough with getting locked out. Enough with being belittled and talked down to. It was the umpteenth time he got locked out and decided then and there he would settle his debts and manage to at least try and buy a house.
Then he moved in with Y/n.
Being a student at the Akademiya, his boyfriend often left the house early in the morning to attend classes. Kaveh had accidentally slept through his alarm clock and was panicking as he tried to get dressed and out the door before he completely missed the meeting he was having today. Some wealthy merchant from Mondstat wanted to set up a store or something and asked him to build it. He'd been recommended for the task because he had done such a beautiful job with the Palace of Alcazarzaray. It made sense that he would make this shop stand out from the stalls in town.
He had to be down in Port Ormos in thirty minutes, which wasn't even possible. Not only did he rush out the door without his keys, but without an umbrella as well. Kaveh forgot a lot of things because he was almost always late to important stuff. Meetings, classes he was opted to teach, etc.
To him, rain came out of nowhere and ruined the meeting pretty quickly. The tavern inside was already filled with patrons and staying out there for longer wasn't ordeal, even with those umbrellas over the tables. He and the client settled on a date to reschedule to talk about the technicalities. Sitting there and watching people rush inside as the rain got heavier Kaveh couldn't help but frown. His only hope was to wait it out but the last thing he wanted to do was stand around inside with strangers, he would prefer sitting at home with a book more than that.
Then Kaveh realized he left his keys in the house.
So through the rain, he trudged on back to his house. It was no doubt he was going to get sick, but getting home was far more important than that. He had blue prints that would get destroyed if he'd gotten them wet.
Kaveh came down with a cold.
He was absolutely dramatic. Lying in bed and coughing was to be expected, but any moment Y/n left the room or wasn't around when he woke up was a moment spent whining and crying for him to come back. Kaveh wasn't doing it to be annoying, but he genuinely felt that he was getting better just by seeing the person he liked so much.
So Y/n would spend most of his time cuddling Kaveh who tried his absolute hardest not to get him sick. Making soup and asking Tighnari for some medicine because he just knew Tighnari would make the best medicine.
Kaveh had a red blanket wrapped around him, his hair messed up and his face all flushed. Sniffling and blinking he shuffled through the room and sat down on the couch in the living room. He sighed as soon as he sat down, then looked over at the kitchen.
"When's the soup going to be ready?"
"In a minute."
"I don't think I can wait that long!" Kaveh whined.
"Well, you don't exactly have a choice."
Kaveh was quiet as soon as he ate his soup and took the medicine his roommate had gotten from Tighnari. Once the bowl was finished he leaned his cheek in his palm, staring at Y/n with eyes full of adoration. He couldn't help himself, he just felt his heart warm up so much knowing that Y/n was taking care of him. It would have taken him less time to just go about his day and not care, but Y/n decided to take care of him.
"I love you." Kaveh blurted out just before he could stop himself.
"What?"
"Nothing!"
Kaveh got up quickly and rushed into his room.
Hesitantly, Y/n got up and followed him to his room. The door was open a jar but he still knocked anyway. The blonde didn't say anything, he just laid with his back to the door. Wrapped up in that red blanket.
"Hey, Kaveh?"
He hummed in response.
"Did you actually mean it, or are you delirious?"
"Mean what?"
"That you loved me."
"Oh." Kaveh shifted and sat up. Looking at the floor.
"Cause, I mean, I love you too."
"Huh?"
"Move over."
Y/n chuckled and climbed into bed with him.
"The doctor prescribes you a healthy dose of cuddles."
Y/n totally got sick after.
I—okay. Listen. Do I run around a lot in this game? Yes. Do I spend an unnatural amount of time looking for RP locations that perfectly match a scene I'm looking for? Probably. But over the course of years, I've found some pretty cool spots. And I'm going to share them with you!
Maybe you'll find inspiration to start something new in these areas, or maybe it'll help scratch an itch for a scene you've been wanting to do. Who knows! Just take them!
Also, these are locations found outside of major cities and aetherytes. This list is for people who want to get out into the overworld and away from crowds! (I’ve also tried to find places that are free of hostile mobs, NPCs, and FATEs.
I’ll likely make more posts for other zones, but the three starter regions are accessible for characters of all levels, and a good place to start!
Locations under the cut!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
LONE CAMPSITE - Middle La Noscea - X25, Y23 A single, simple campfire surrounded by a few crates and barrels. I think an NPC appears here for one specific quest, but otherwise it's empty! It’s not near any civilization, although you can see Limsa on the other side of the map.
Tumblr media
HIDDEN PIRATE SHIP - Western La Noscea - X10, Y18 A really cool ship hidden deep in the La Noscean map, which only became available once they added flight to older areas. You can land on the ship and the walkways that surround it. It’s really a unique and outstanding spot!
Tumblr media
HOUSE @ OSCHON'S TORCH - Lower La Noscea - X23, Y39 You can't enter the lighthouse on the hill (unfortunately), but you can go into the small house in front. It has a nice garden in the yard, and the interior is fairly simple and NPC-free.
Tumblr media
WAREHOUSE @ RED ROOSTER STEAD - Lower La Noscea - X31, Y21 I don't know why SE made this, to be honest. I've never seen a quest lead here. Nothing spawns, it just exists. Which is great! I wish they did this more. Anyway, it's a warehouse at Red Rooster Stead. A door in a cliffside, full of supplies and a table with chairs, and nothing else.
Tumblr media
PAVILLION @ CANDLEKEEP QUAY  - Lower La Noscea - X19, Y38 Previously inaccessible due to a gate blocking you off the pier, you can now fly over to this spot! This location is beautiful, especially at sunset, but unfortunately nothing is interactable. Unless you’re fine with /groundsit, you can't even sit on the chairs. But still, a quiet and interesting spot to meet!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HOUSE @ THE SILVER BAZAAR - Western Thanalan - X17, 30 All of the buildings in the Silver Bazaar are great! This one is fantastic. It's completely empty inside and outside (except for a couple ambient NPCs on the railing up top). There’s a table and chairs under the awning outside, too.
Tumblr media
DESERT RUINS - Southern Thanalan - X19, Y17 There are a lot of nice ruins in the Thanalans, but this one in particular has a lot of potential. The only mobs around are some passive fire sprites, and there's an unopened chest in the back amidst all the crates and jars. Environmental storytelling!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TAVERN @ CAMP DRYBONE - Eastern Thanalan - X13, Y24 I know I said I would make this list outside of major aetheryte areas, but this is the one exception I'll make. Only because it has no business being this good. Every chair at every table is available! It's a wonder!! A very nice little tavern.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HOUSE @ THE GOLDEN BAZAAR - Eastern Thanalan - X10, Y16 The Golden Bazaar, like the Silver Bazaar, is all very useful. But there's one house in particular that is better than the others. This interior is big and extravagant and empty: three things we don't get very often in overworld locales!
Tumblr media
CRESCENT COVE - Western Thanalan - X15, Y17 If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: I love Crescent Cove. Every building is accessible! And although there are NPCs around, it's a fairly large area to work with. I’ve both led and participated in a lot of great plot events here. I like it a lot!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
LILYSTONE - Central Shroud - X28, Y30 A simple tent with a campfire in front, located next to a river. There are some low level aggressive mobs (level 11), but no NPCs or FATEs. I believe there's an early level quest around here, but I almost never see anyone. A neat campsite!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SWEETBLOOM PIER - East Shroud - X10, Y22 This location is found immediately after you take the boat from Gridania to East Shroud. Most people just run right past it and head through the gates, but if you turn around, there are two buildings here! One is a grocer of some kind, and the other is a storage room. There are a couple NPCs, but nothing too intrusive.
Tumblr media
SPRIGGAN DIG - Central Shroud - X11, Y16 (Underground) Sometimes, when you're setting a scene, all you want is a simple cave. Just one simple darn cave. This spot provides! There are 2-3 caves to choose from, although each one contains at least one hostile mob and a patrolling golem (level 43). We take what we can get.
Tumblr media
SPIRITHOLD - Central Shroud - X26, Y25 This spot is great for its spooky ambience or for a dungeon/prison location. There are six small, empty jail cells against the walls. Just some small level mobs (level 9) wandering around, too.
Tumblr media
That’s it! I have several more, but I trimmed them out due to them being either fairly common knowledge (ie, Buscarron’s Druthers, Hermit’s Hovel) or just too many mobs cluttering the field. However! If you’re interested in more, let me know somehow, and maybe I’ll make a Part 2!
Until then, I’ll very likely follow up with more zones. I like exploring quite a lot.
I was looking over one the balconies of The Elkins Estate, enjoying the peace as my groomsmen got ready in the room behind me.
I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I already knew it was Dustin.
"Jim, you going to faint." Was all he needed to say, and I knew who he was talking about.
"I can only imagine."
Greg joined us, and he and Dustin started to talk, and I zoned them out without meaning, too. I thought back to the first moment we first met.
We were waiting for the school bus on our first day of school. I was nervous and didn't want to look go out of my Mom's hand, and there they were, standing next to me and then asking me what my favourite colour was.
"Orange" was all I said, and then they said their favourite colour. They started to ask me different questions, and once the bus came, I was a bit more at ease.
They grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "Let's go." At that moment, she and I became best friends. If you saw them, you saw me, or vice versa.
I was steered back into the room, as each one of my groomsmen started to congratulate me and bring up a memory they had of the three of us.
"I remember in middle school, you wanted to ask them to the school dance, but you were too scared."
My memories flooded with that night.
It was grade 7, and I finally wrapped my head around the fact that I fell in love with my best friend. Even though we ran in different circles by this point, they were still my best friend, and we shared everything together.
This was the year that we each started to ask another person to the school dance, and I was nervous. I practised for what felt like hours in my bedroom mirror, for this very moment.
I stood behind them as they talked about their art project, and just as I was about to ask them to the dance, they spoke up.
"I decided I am going to go to the school dance with just friends, you know. Why go with one person when you spend the night apart anyway?"
It felt like my heart was stomped on and ripped apart from my body at the same time. I cleared my throat, trying to play it cool.
"Yeah, yeah. I see what you mean. Am I still picking you up for it, though?"
"My Mom is dropping me off. She wanted to see me off this time." The bell rang, ending that moment of pure sadness for me.
I hate to say that I didn't talk to them that night. Even though I wanted to say how great I thought they looked, I was just hurt that they didn't want to go to the dance with me.
Later on in life, I learned that they were forced to stag by a mutual friend of ours, who knew I wanted to ask them to the dance, but our friend wanted me to ask them.
It wasn't until grade 10 that I finally told them how I felt, and I was scared that I was going to lose our friendship forever.
We were watching a movie in their basement, and I could hardly focus on it. To this day, I do not recall what movie it even was, but I digress.
All of a sudden, I just blurted out. "I love you." Not that I like them, or even have a crush on them. No, no, full-on. I love you.
They went quiet for not even ten seconds before they kissed me, completely shocking me. In a span of 20 seconds, I told them I loved them, and we had our first kiss. They pulled back, letting me they loved me too.
We have been together ever since. Standing by one another with each dream. Helping each other to achieve our goals. When I was signed to AEW, I knew it was time to propose.
I booked us a room at the Sidney Tavern, in East Berlin, PA. I was so nervous that I actually thought about calling the whole thing off, but I pushed through.
We had a pleasant evening, talking and laughing, and then I did the old dropping the fork on the floor and we to pick it up, but I was on one knee, with the engagement ring in my hand.
"Yes."
Tag list: @lghockey @nicoleveno14 @legit9thlunaticwarrior @hooks-martin @wwenhlimagines @melissahausen @faerieofthenightcourt @tahiri-veyla @crowleysqueenofhell
I laughed as this was so us. I didn't even have to ask the question before they answered. I slipped the ring on their finger.
Now, as I stand at the front of the church, waiting for them. I knew that no one could ever take their place in my life.
The music started to play, and everyone stood up to look as the doors opened.
We made eye contact down the aisle, and they mouthed,'I love you.'
And I mouthed it right back, knowing that they are the one for me, and I for them.
Y/n opened up the work shop for the first time in a while that morning. Opening all the windows and leaving the back door open, she did a quick sweep before sharpening her tools and getting to work. She finished off the last details to the morning orders, earlier than expected, the goodnights rest giving her an unsual boost in energy.
"Kid?"
"Morin!" Y/n shouted to her boss, putting another toy on the shelf to dry.
"You're here early."
"Yeah." Y/n answered walking his way, "slept really good last night."
"Finally, get a new bed?"
"Oh. Uh... some new cusioning for now." Y/n smiled, wipping paint on her apron, "any how I completed the moring orders detailing and paint."
"You finished it?"
Y/n nodded, "all of it?"
"Yeah?" Y/n spoke with a chuckle, "Why so surpised?"
"And you closed the shop as asked."
Y/n nodded, "yeah,"
He hummed, "Work on the soldiers sword, I want you on that all day."
Y/n nodded, "Okay."
She was dismissed as she went over to the back table, unwrapping the fabric, sketching the hilt would be a good choice first to get a full idea with non-chipped parts, and once that was finsihed and hung she carefully lined the peices together.
She wondered if Finn was still asleep in her small little apartments.
Well, he wasn't asleep, but was in her home. Hiding in fact. He was in her study room, peeking out the crack in the door as Ronin was folding the blanket Y/n had tossed over him and was putting it back in its spot. Going out the door wasn't and option. Yet the window was.
He was careful to climb out the room and onto the branch, "Sargent Major?! Is that you!?"
He looked down the group from last night coming out of the tavern below. They had just finished breakfast.
"What are you doing up there!" One shouted.
"You idiot what man comes out a womans house barefoot for no other reason!"
"Oh..." Another started, "Oh! YOU AND Y/N SMASHED!? DUDE CONGRATS!"
Ronin was quick to look out the window and Finn was quick to jump to another branch to hide.
"Oh shit you smashed Ronin?....That's....just as cool too I guess..."
"I don't know. Feel like the commander would just be werid to smash -"
"Yeah he defenitly likes degrading-"
"Who was in here!" Ronin shouted at the soilders
"You idiots shut it!"
"Go! Go!"
They all rushed off in a hurry, Finn going off to the side to quickly make his way down and away from the tavern. Making his way to an all to familiar home.
He knocked on the door to where his sister opened it up: "Aye! Finn! Mama! Finn's here!" His sisters cheered hugging him happily.
There were three of them, well three here at least.
He smiled hugging them back the best he could with his things in his hands.
"Aye! What are you wearin?" Margo complained, she oldest of the younger girls here, she in the early stages of training to become a leafman.
"Come on! Come in! Mama's making breakfast!" Immie cheered, she the youngest, still in the younger years of grade school, she pulling her brother inside.
"Ah. I can't stay for long Immie." He spoke kissing her cheek, "Morin Margie."
She kissed the middle sister on the cheek, she doing the same to him, she would be finishing up her schooling within the year to follow Margo's steps.
They dragged him inside happily, letting the door close behind them without a care. They all bombarded him with what he had missed as they dragged him into the kitchen where his mom was cooking.
"Mama!"
She turned her head, "Aye! My baby boy!"
Finn smiled as she kissed his cheek, he smiling in response, and returning the greeting, "Hey Mom."
"Hey Mom? What are you? Not my baby anymore?" She teased.
"Mama." He strained she laughing before hugging him tightly, "what are you wearing-"
She was quick to step back, "no shoes? Finally you remember- where you in the dirt?"
"It's...a long story." Finn started.
"Go..fix yourself up, you know where your spares are, quickly, I want to hear all about this long story. Girls."
They looked towards their mother, "set the table for one more."
They were quick to do so, Finn's mother shooing him off to go get fixed up. He passed by a few rooms before going to the closet to grab his spare chlothes, he redressing in the bathroom, before putting his armor on, lacing up everything tight and secure. Before walking out to his mother and sisters.
"Ah, you always look so handsome with your leafman armor on." His mother told.
"Mama." He spoke.
"What? I'm not wrong." She told, "Now tell me why you came dressed here like you rolled out of bed."
Finn pulled out a seat for his mother to sit: she took the seat before sitting himself, and breakfast was passed around.
"I. Well. I did." Finn told.
"Forget to do laundry again?" Margo teased him.
"I wasn't at home." Finn corrected her.
"With Ronin again? You two were always inseperable." His mother spoke, "How's the sweet boy doing?"
"I'm not sure if we're even friends anymore." Finn answered softly rubbing the back of his neck.
The room fell silent.
"Oh..."
The bowl of plum duff was handed to Immie. She only looked at her brother, who knew what to do. He was helping her put a spoonful into her bowl.
"Dear. I." His mother started, "Sorry, I'm just..."
"Shocked." Margie answered, "What happened?"
"I." Finn started, "I don't even know."
"Finn." His mother spoke grabbing his hand: "What happened."
Finn looked at his mother and sighed, "Just...there's this lady- woman- she..."
"The Queen?!" His mother snapped, "Finn what the hell!"
"No! No!" Finn was quick to answer, "Not Tara....her name's Y/n."
His mother physically relaxed, and did the table, "She's his ex? He use to like her? To bad- he left on his way and so did she-"
"Y/n is Ronin's sister.- Twin sister," Finn was quick to add.
Immie reached for the tea pot, Finn quick to grab it and fill her cup.
"Thanks Finn." She spoke holding the cup with two hands, he putting the pot back down and ruffling her hair shortly.
"Then what is the problem?" His mother questioned.
"I stayed the night at her home yesterday,"
"She lives alone?" His mother inquired, to which Finn nodded, "Then what is the problem?"
"Mama it's his best friend's sister," Margo said.
"Well, one person is always gonna be another's best friend, someone is always going to be someone's sister." Their mother spoke, "Does she like you?"
"I. I don't know. I think. I hope," Finn answered; "or she likes the flirting..."
"No one likes the flirting for the hell of it," His mother said; "Gets strung along and messy, and no one ends up happy after it,"
Finn was quiet, "I've only spent a day with her- well-"
"Wait, you fell in love with a one-night stand?" Margo laughed.
"No! That's not what happened!" Finn argued.
"Sounds like she fucked her way into your heart-"
"Margo!" Her mother scolded, "filter."
Margo rolled her eyes, "Yes mother."
Immie was too engrossed in her Plum duff and porridge to listen to the conversation.
"Listen, Finn,"
Finn looked at his Mother, "You love this girl? For a while it seems, from afar?"
Finn didn't bother to answer, "It's nice to fall in love with a painting, but you don't know the artist" she spoke, holding his hand.
"I've had great talks with her already Mama,"
His mother smiled; "Good, have more, learn her well, and let her learn you well, you may just be her muse, and an artist can never run away from their muse, beware-"
"The double-edged sword,"
Y/n looked over at her boss; "What?"
"What you're doing, it's a single edge, flat diagonal top, not a double edge to a point."
"But-"
"Older design older sword style."
"Oh," Y/n responded, looking over the sketch, "Thanks."
Y/n erased the sword point replacing it with a diagonal cut and handing the sketch over to her boss; "Look good?"
He lifted up his glasses; looking over the work, "And you got the detail from mirroring?'
"Yep,"
"Hm...go with it." He told her, she nodded, getting the sketch back before sketching the missing detail in the wooden peices she had fixed together.
She continued to work, unbothered and focused. With moring orders done, most of it was people coming to pick things up. She went from sketching to loosely carving into the wood.
His hand held onto the carved doorway, Finn looked around for Ronin, maybe he could just avoid him for the moring?
"Finn!"
Fuck
Finn turned around, "Ronin-Good Moring!- And Queen Tara! Your highness!"
Finn was quick to bow, "Oh come on Finn. We've all been good friends since we were little now."
"Old habits die hard." Was Finn's response as Tara chuckle.
"Did Ms.Y/n get home alright?"
"Ms.Y/n?" Finn asked.
"The woman from yesterday." Ronin was quick to fill in.
"Oh! Yes, Yes! I took her to her night job as she asked of me. She works at Red's Tavern."
Tara smiled: "thank you."
Finn nodded: "and there were no problems?" Ronin pushed.
Finn shook his head: "No."
"At all? No comments,"
Finn shook his head no. Ronin relaxed a little on the inside, his sister had just been pulling his leg.
"I couldn't put my sister in better hands." Ronin spoke placing a hand on his friends shoulder.
"Oh- Uh! Sister?" Finn asked, "I didn't even realize the resemblance...heh...how- how come I've never met her before?"
"You know sisters." Ronin told another way of saying: 'It's a really strained relationship'
"Ah.. yeah I do. Have a few of them myself." Finn chuckled nervously, "Well, uh, I should go do- uh, something over there."
Finn was quick to walk away if his feet carried him any faster, he'd be in a full sprint. Ronin sighed.
"Something wrong?" Tara asked.
"Nothing," Ronin answered her, watching her start to walk off, she only gesturing for him to follow.
"Come on." Tara urged, Ronin following her words as they made their way down a hall, "Lets go talk."
Finn sighed as he made distance from Ronin, he looking back to see him walking away: and a group of soilders were quick to jump infront of him.
"Oh Sargent Major!" They sang, he stopping to look towards them, the group of soilders from the Tavern smiled at him sweetly, and he was quick to try and go the other way yet they caught up to him quick, "So sir whats the mission today?"
"Ah-"
"Instructions would be nice Sargent Major."
"Well we'll-"
"Do you even know what we're doing today?"
It was clear they were teasing him in all good fun, as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Well? Maybe we could ask Ms.Y/n."
"Hey-"
"Yeah! What do you say? She'd know."
It was clear as day that Finn was turning red: "Okay. I was with Y/n last night-"
There were loud whistles and cheers, "Well!? How'd it go?"
"Yeah! What happened!"
"They smashed you idiot duh-"
"We did not!" Finn argued, the group becoming quiet, waiting for the internary of Finn's night, "We just talked - aren't you her friends? Shouldn't you be asking her?"
"Y/n doesn't kiss and tell."
"I didn't kiss her." Finn told them.
"Come on, Sargent Major, nothin'g? After all that, looking at her. You look at her like we look at her pie."
"Nothing happened." Finn reassured them, "Now can I get to my office? Please?"
The group split, allowing Finn to walk through with ease they watching him walk off in a hurry.
"We're keeping Commander away from Him and Y/n aren't we?"
"Yep."
Y/n streched, she had been hunched over for a while now, rough details done on both sides, she heard her bones pop as she hummed in satisfaction.
"Go on lunch."
"Already lunchtime?" Y/n asked standing up.
"Take an early one. Go get somethin' to eat." He spoke, he sat over a table leg he was carving.
"Want anything?"
"No."
"I'll get you...mary's bread and honeybutter?" Y/n asked.
He only hummed as Y/n smiled.
"I'll be back." Y/n told him, hanging up the apron and grabbing her bag before leaving out the back door. It was a quick trip over to the bakers, Mary was an old woman who lived with her wife and two cats, a family owed bakery known for their honeybutter and dark oak choco truffles.
There was a small line inside the small bussniess, everyone happy with smiles as they mingled amongst one another. She waited patiently, looking out the window at the people. Some shopping for the week, others heading to work. Leafmen patrolled casually. They're there for any added support, any civil dispute that too frisky.
"Ah Ms.Y/n! How are ya doin this morin?" Mary asked.
"Very good thank you." Y/n smiled, "Yourself?"
"Ah happy as always deary." Mary answered, "Now what could I get you?"
"Bread and honeybutter for the old man. A bag of dark oak choco truffles for me."
"Ah I'm all out of those truffles deary. Anythin else?" She asked grtting out the fresh bread.
"Recommendations?"
"Slice of Berry Creampie," she recommended pointing out the last slice of pie: it a fairly light purple pratically white, though if Y/n didn't know any better she'd say it was the light that gave it that color.
"Sure sounds good."
Finn had never been more glad he was asked to go out on civilian patrol, away from Ronin.
He was walking with another soilder, younger and inexperienced, when he saw her.
There, she was coming out of Mary's bakery with a small box, a smile on her face. Everything that happened last night came back, and it came back quick. The touches, how her fingers ran along his shoulders, how she held his hand. The kisses, he swears his cheek still burns where Y/n placed a kiss.
How they slept in the same bed.
He wonders how he didn't almost take things further; even by just kissing his lips. Would Y/n have even accepted such a gesture? Maybe it would have been blown off more as a one night stand than anything else.
"Hey! Finn!" Y/n called, she walking towards his frozen spot, his partner not realizing and walking off.
Shit.
"M. Ms. Y/N! Good. Uh.Morin'' Finn told her.
Y/n smiled, "Im sure its afternoon by now."
"Ah. Maybe." He spoke in return.
Oh to see such a smile under me. Finn could feel his ears getting red. Not the time
"You're on lunch too?" Y/n asked happily.
"No! No!" Finn started, "Civillian Patrol...you?"
Y/n nodded, "early lunch."
"That's always nice." He spoke.
"Mhm." Y/n agreed.
Fuck she's just so pretty. Finn gulped, and his face grew red to match his ears.
"You're lookin a little red there, you okay?'y/n asked.
"Just warm is all." He admitted.
"Don't tell me staying at my house got you sick?" Y/n questioned.
"No! No not at all, I...had a good time last night." Finn told her.
"Im glad." Y/n smiled, "Wanna do it again?"
"A.again?" Finn asked.
"Yeah sleep over? Talk. I had fun." Y/n told, "You're good to talk to."
"I..." Finn tried to answer.
Say yes, you fool!
"I. Ms. Y/n. I..." Finn tried to answer, "I..um..."
I could just be honest. Honesty is key.
"I would like to do it again..."
"That's good to hear. I almost thought I might have scared you off." Y/n chuckled in relief.
"No, you couldn't even if you tried." Finn told her.
A pause.
"O.oh..." Y/n answered, she shifted in her spot, her box coming in towards her: he was making her flustered.
"I. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable-"
"No, no that's..not what you did."
Oh. Oh
"Maybe... since I dont work tonight at the Tavern...we could-have dinner? At my place?"
Finn's mouth ran dry causing him to only nod aggressively.
"I'll see you at mine after you're shift then?"
"Y..yeah..."
Y/n smiled and started to walk off; she backtracking to kiss his cheek and then left casually. He turned around to watch her walk off and turn the street corner.
"Sargent Major Finn!" The young soilder called, running back over, "Sorry, I didn't mean to leave a partner behind, a leafman-"
The young soilder paused: Finn too busy looking where Y/n had vanished from sight.
"Sir?"
"Hm?" Finn questioned: still never tearing his eyes away from the area.
"Are you alright sir?"
Finn looked towards the soilder: the haze of adorment still in his face: "Yeah..."
"You sure?"
"Mhm."
Finn was like that the rest of the day. If someone wanted to go on break, they asked him: if they wanted lunch, they asked him. It was always a happily laid back "yeah mhmm.." As he went back to thinking about Y/n.
He wish he would of woken before her: to see her sprawled out hair, and peaceful expression, he remembered her hands being rough; most likely from the manual labor she had been doing all her life: from her time with a sword and bow to hammering out the metals and carving the hilts of swords...he wondered if all her skin was rough: her lips weren't rough; it was most likely just her hands. He wondered if she snored, that "cute" snore or that loud snore you hear from your father after dinner. Yet he hadn't been awakened like he use to when we was younger with his own fathers snoring.
Oddly enough, he took to doodling: nothing important really, just little spirals and stars, not bothering to lift the pen off the paper despite how dry it sounded after a while.
He hopped he could contuine with Y/n-friends would even suffice him enough if she had decided not to be a lover. He would rather have her in his life than not have her at all.
His pen ran dry: dryer than sand, and he finally dipped the pen back in ink letting his mind return to her.
But to have her....oh...
To have her hand and kiss her knuckles when she returned from work. To squeeze her sides coming up behind. To have her as his seemed like a dream far away. To kiss her and to whisper to her. To hold her when she's sad and to look up at her in awe when mad, moonstrucken by the idea of her standing in her ground. Nothing could defeat her: not by the skin of her nose or the glory of winning there owes she stood strong in her ways.
Perhaps a result of being alone?
Left in the home with no roof or no stove, she rised to the occasion without hesitation. To fight the god that is the parent and to fall as deep as you can get it. To loose yet to still go on takes some dedication.
"I knocked multiple times-"
"Huh!?"
Finn's head came out the clouds: "Ronin! I uh-" he was quick to stand up from his desk.
"Tea." He spoke setting the cup infront of his old friend.
"Ah...thanks." Finn thanked, looking down at the ember colored liquid and Ronin took a seat.
"We should go over some of the reports."
"Reports...uh..."
"Any daily reports?"
"Oh! Uh! No - no. Not today... most was...resolved through talking..." Finn answered, looking out the window the sun settting: "What time does Y/n stop working?"
"Y/n?"
Finn's head shot towards Ronin: "Why?" Ronin asked.
"Oh..uh- my...uh...Mother made her a tea blend! A thanks...shs's repairing the family sword, you know she's always been a gifter..." Finn tried to cover up, "I was hoping to give it to her...after her shift..."
"She should be home by now." Ronin informed." Should that is,"
"Extra hours?" Finn questioned with a smile: by the time he'd be out of this, he'd be a rather good liar, not a good thing.
"Long Story." Ronin answered.
"I know a few of those myself." Finn sympathized, he sitting himself down finally, "You...wanna talk about it?"
Ronin only gave him a "Really?" Look as Finn chuckled.
"I never met her before the other day." Finn informed: "How come you've never introduced us?"
"We...never sat right with each other." Ronin told him.
"Older sister?" Finn questioned: "I know the feeling"
"Twined." Ronin spoke, "Moring and Night."
"She's Moring I presume?" Finn asked, but he only got the shake of the head, Ronin? The Sunshine twin? Yeah right, "You're the moring twin?"
"Don't believe in ever superstition you believe." Ronin chuckled sipping his tea.
Finn was quiet: he knew from here they had been twined, they had a bad relationship Ronin seemed desperate to fix.
"So. Why not...talk it out?" Finn tried to recommend.
"We don't, talk."
Finn was silent for a moment, "You do that alot you know,"
"Do what?"
"Live in what you can't control while trying to control it." Finn commented.
"What's that suppose to mean?" Ronin asked, though it felt like a demand, a snap of the attuide.
"Well- I- From how my sisters-"
"She's not your sister."
It fell quiet and the air thick: "I. I shouldn't have spoken on the matter I'm sorry." Finn was quick to apologize.
Ronin was silent: he didn't mean to be a dick, yet he was.
"I'll find her eventually," Finn told him, "thanks."
"I didn't-"
"No, it's fine- I'm defensive of my sisters too," Finn cut Ronin off, standing up: "I should just go check on the new recruits see how they settled in,"
"Finn,"
"Thank you for the tea Ronin."
Finn was quick to leave; if he was honest; he wanted to defend Y/n. Then again, he knew Ronin, and emotions were never his biggest strong suit, especially talking about them.
Y/n got home with fresh groceries later than she had wanted and was quick to start something for dinner. She still had to get in the shower and change.
So stew was the best option: throw everything in a pot and call it a day, just after she browned the meat....and seasoned the veggies...and quickly tossed the bread in a low fire baker to warm.
Damn making dinner was hard.
Quickly browning the meat, she was quick to brown some of the vegetables as well, throwing seasoning in as well. Tossing everything into a pot, she was quick to put it over the fire and close the lid: she going to take a shower as quick as she could. There weren't many clothes she had to pick from; so, she went with her most unused top; a cream shirt with quarter sleeves, with her lesser used trousers; they black; yet not to dark.
Checking on the stew quickly, she turned her attention to sweeping in the other room to pass the time.
Yet something smelled burnt, and soon she could taste it. Running into the kitchen smoke came from the brick oven: her bread that was ment to be getting warm.
"Shit!" She cursed, reaching inside she burnt hands and tossed it into the sinks basin, tossing whatever water she had near by on it.
She coughed, trying to wave the smoke away, and was quick to open her windows and curtains to air out her home.
"Ms.y/n!"
She looked out the window, some usuals at the Tavern calling up to her seeing her stick her head out the window.
"Oh!" She waved, "Hello!"
"Are you alright up there?!"
"Just fine! Thank you!"
Y/n went back to her sink; looking down at the bread, "another for the farmers bin."
Y/n was quick to pick up the bread and toss it in with her other food scraps, no bread with stew sounded bare; maybe red would let her steal enough for her dinner date. Looking at the pot once more she figured she could run and grab bread from downstairs if she was quick.
She rushed out her door and down the steps.
"Oi! you're off today-"
"Can I take some bread?"
Red raised a brow, "You have that pretty solider boy coming over, red head."
"Yeah." y/n answered.
The kitchen went quiet; as the girls looked at each other.
"He breaks you; I break him." Red warned.
"I'm sure I'd break him first," Y/n told.
"Or the bed, Ah! Oh, Solider Boy!" A woman teased; she peeling the skin off of veggies.
Other girls laughed as Y/n rolled her eyes.
"Ah~! Daddy! Solider boy please fuck me harder!"
"Haha!" Y/n laughed sarcastically.
"Oh! Wait I got one! Solider boy! Fuck! You're gonna break the chair! Solider Boy please!"
The room filled with laughter, until Red snapped at them; they growing quiet.
"Take yesterday's left-over loaves they're going to go bad anyway," Red told her, Y/n nodding, as someone from kitchen staff tossed her two loaves, she catching them luckily.
"Thanks Boss!"
"Go, go!" Red waved her off, as Y/n rushed to run up the steps.
"AH! Ronin! Please daddy!" One of the girls teased.
"You idiot that's her brother!"
"What? She gets to fuck his second in command I get the brother!"
"If you could even approach him!" Y/n shouted back; "Maybe brush your teeth first!"
"Ah! You slug sucker!" She shouted back.
"Hornet Fucker!"
There were laughs below as Y/n closed her door, "She got you good with that one Marz!" she could faintly hear below her.
Y/n could only chuckle as she went to re-toast her bread; making sure she kept an eye on it this time.
"-And so, I told him-"
How long was this going to go on for? Finn nodded as if he was listening; yet with the sun going down in barely five mintues he was in well, a rush.
"Sargent Major!"
"Right- sorry-repeat what you were saying!"
"There trying to take down my fruit stand! I've been there for years!" An old farmer complained.
"His family doesn't have the proper paperwork-"
"Paperwork!? What about doing your job!"
"I am doing my job!-"
"Okay! Okay!" Finn stopped the two; "Look Mr. Pines, I know where your fruit stand is, and it can stay there-"
"But sir-"
"Thank you-"
"But we will work on getting you proper paperwork- we work with the people not against them, new recruits are often still strung hard from there training." Finn told the man, "We'll have everything filled out on our end, and call you in within a few moons, for now, you can sell from your stand."
"Thank you, someone has common sense around here!'
With that Mr. Pines stormed off, Finn rubbing over his eyes; "I apologize Sargent Major-"
"You didn't do anything wrong; you may go, fill out the paperwork for Mr. Pines please, and return it to my desk as soon as you can?"
"Yes, sir,"
Finn sighed leaning back in his chair; the solider still there; "You may leave,"
With the bow of a head the solider left, why did the simplest things get out of hand sometimes? Especially at the last minute? Looking up at the sky; he could make it to Y/n's house, he just...had to run a little. Or to not look rushed he could use his bird.
The longer he thought about it the smarter it sounded; he could pick her up something on the way as well.
He was quick to run to the stables; avoiding any signs of Ronin or the group of soldiers who had teased him about his little "fling" with Y/n. Taking his hummingbird out he saddled her up, she shaking her wings causing the saddles metal to cling.
"Shh, shh, I know it's late girl," Finn spoke, rubbing her head, before looping the belts through the loops and tightening them to perfection.
He was quick to lead the bird out of the stables before hopping on and taking flight. It wasn't far by flight to Y/n's house, yet a quick stop to the farmer was ideal; she suggesting some marigolds, or even some honey. Yet a poncho in the back caught his eye, it dark green with light green leaf embroidery, and best part of it all; it had a hood.
"That? for a date gift?"
Finn nodded; it was an odd ball thing to get someone; perfect for an odd girl; well, odd in a good way.
"Please ma'am."
"Well alright; I'll wrap it in a bow for you then." She told.
And just like that, Finn paid and was off to Y/n's house, truth be told he hopped off his steed before even fully landed, excited to see her again. He hoped she liked the gift.
The tavern was busy; it always was and he weaved through customers and workers to the back, almost running into a man with a fully tray.
"Sorry! Sorry..."
"You're good...can I help you with something sir? Customers aren't allowed back here-"
"Oh, uh, I'm here for Y/n- Ms.Y/n."
The man raised a brow, "Ayo Red! Solider boy's here! He allowed up to Y/n's place?"
"Red hair!?" Red called back.
"Yeah!"
"Send him back! Ruf!"
Finn was let in, he more aware of everyone else now that he was in a full place. If his memory had him correct; the stairs to Y/n's place was in the back and up the steps.
Yet he was stopped by twins, two women who worked there with freshly sharpen knives in hand.
"Where you think you're goin?"
"I was allowed-"
"Rhetorical question."
The women of the kitchen huddled around him; "I- am I misisng something sorry Ladies-"
A woman snorted; "Ladies? Please, that title comes after killer-"
"alright tone it down." Red ordered, "you,"
She pointed at Finn; "me?" He asked confused.
"You fuck with Y/n, you won't be making kids in the future you understand?" She asked.
"I wouldn't hurt her ma'am."
"Please, it's what the last one said-"
"I'm not the last one." Finn spoke up in his defense, low "oohs" went around, standing up the Red was dangerous.
"Let's hope not- digging a grave is so tiring. Even with full kitchen staff."
"I might as well as help dig then, my grave," Finn spoke; "only a fool would drop a woman like her,"
Red's threat became a light chuckle of respect; "Part ways ladies, Y/ns got a fly to catch,"
They parted ways, allowing Finn to pass; and go up the steps. As he walked up the steps his confidence went to nerves.
It was true; Only a fool would drop such a gem. He cleared his throat before knocking on her door.
The door was opened fairly quickly, and she stood there smiling; "hey, Finn!"
She smiled brightly at him; "Hope I'm not late,"
"Just on time," Y/n spoke, "Just finished the stew, tables set with dinner and everything."
"Next time I'll have to cook for you, you've done a lot already."
"Eh," Y/n shrugged walking off as Finn followed her, closing the door behind him, "Come on! before it gets cold!"
He followed her into the kitchen, the small table set accordingly, and stew bowled and still steaming.
"Smells amazing," Finn complimented, Y/n chuckling.
"hope it holds up in taste." She spoke, Finn smiling as she put a pitcher of freshly chilled tea on the table.
"Come on sit now," Y/n told him, going to sit herself down.
"Please let me," he spoke quick to walk over and pull her chair out.
"Thank you," She smiled, taking a seat as he pushed her in.
"Before, we uh, eat." Finn spoke, sitting himself on one knee, throwing Y/n off.
"Finn-"
"I got you a gift," He spoke setting the bow wrapped gift in her lap.
"Oh." Y/n spoke; "thank you- I, you don't have to on a knee of it though-"
"I- Sorry!"
Y/n chuckled as he was quick to rise to his feet, she quick to grab his wrist before he stepped back, and look from the gift back up at him; "May I open it after dinner? I'd hate to ruin it,"
Finn gulped, "Whenever you wish."
Y/n's hand went from his wrist to his hand, giving it a tight squeeze; "Thank you, I mean it, I appreciate it,"
She liked when he kissed her knuckles last time.
It was his immediate decision to raise her hand and kiss her knuckles as he did before. She smiling as his lips lingered a bit longer before he pulled away.
"Please," She started softly; "sit and eat, I'd hate for it to get cold,"
Unhappy to let her hand go; he followed as asked. sitting himself across from her at the small table, it had been a long time since she cooked; sure she baked before; pie after pie, but cooking wasn't she did often; not even for herself.
To seem less suspect, she act like she had started to eat; more worried about his reaction.
"Do you like it?" y/n asked.
"it's good," He smiled.
Y/n sighed in relief before lifting up her own spoon to taste.
Finn was a liar.
How could soemthing be so over seasoned and underseasoned at the same time? Unsalted but salted worse than sweat? She almost gaged at her own creation, but forced herself to swallow.
"Finn," She started, her mouth dehydrated from one taste of the stew.
"Yes?" He asked.
"You know...if you don't like it, you can just say so, I rather you be honest than try and not hurt my feelings," Y/n told him.
"Honest?'
Y/n nodded.
"it's horrendous,"
yeah...there it was.
"I'm a baker, rather than a cook," Y/n chuckled, Finn smiling at her, "To be honest, I think I ruined my own appetite,"
"...I think you ruined mine too," Finn told her, "sorry..."
"You mind having pie for dinner?"
Finn watched her get up and pull a covered pie from the cupboard, "It's a day old, still good,"
Finn nodded as Y/n smiled, grabbing two forks and moving her chair besides Finns, she taking the sad bowls of stew and setting them on the counter.
"Dessert's always better than real dinner anyways,"
Y/n took a seat, handing Finn a fork.
"So how was your day? Tell me all about it,"
What seemingly was meant to be a nice dinner, sophisticated just the slightest, turned goofy; if people had seen them; they would of thought they were teens instead of full-grown adults.
Elderberry pie was for dinner, they fork fighting for middle and crust pieces, laughing at one another and playfully booing as the other one.
"Oh, come on! You had the last middle piece!" Y/n teased playfully.
"Gotta fight harder," Finn laughed; a hand over his mouth while he ate and talked.
"Oh? Is that so?" Y/n laughed, "Alright, Sargent Major,"
He watched her stand up; seemingly mad in a flash, and he looked at her worriedly, as she walked behind him, "Keep your head forward,"
He was quick to do as told, feeling her come into contact with the back of his head he could feel his ears becoming warm.
"Yoink!"
And just like that the pie was gone from in front of him, he quick to get up; that pie was worth fighting for.
"Y/n- Come on!"
"Aw! I'm sorry did you want another center piece?" Y/n teased, her fork diving into the center to take a chunk and eat it, "Mhm! So good!"
Part of the fruit puree was smeared across her lip and cheek as she wiped her mouth with the back of her sleeve.
"Want some Sargent Major?" Y/n continued to tease, he taking a step forward as she stepped back.
"Y/n be fair about this," Finn tried to reason, "I'm still hungry?"
Finns plead received an eye roll, "Oh? There's a bakery down the street."
There's a bakery right in front of me, was Finns only thought. His eyes watched her hips; if they turned, she'd sprint.
"You're a big boy, Sargent Major, I'm sure you could make the trip to eat someone else's -"
"I don't want to eat someone else's pie-"
"Oh yeah? And why's that?-"
"Because I won't be with you."
Y/n paused, her teasing dug herself in a hole. If she hadn't been with him the whole night she'd of thought he was drunk by how red his cheeks and ears had gotten.
Y/n set the pie down on the counter, "I didn't mean for it to come out like that," Finn told her.
"No. I. I. Thats on me." Y/n answered,
"I'll go." Finn told her standing up.
"No wait! You don't have to leave!" Y/n was quick to stop him.
She grabbed onto him, "Really. You don't,"
"The last thing I wanna do is make you uncomfortable -"
"No! No. You didn't really!" Y/n told him, "I'm sorry,"
"Don't apologize-" Finn spoke.
"No. I teased to far. Please. Let me apologize." Y/n pleaded, grabbing his hand, "Im sorry."
"It's okay."
"Finn-"
"You apologized, right?" He spoke softly, his hand coming up to cup her cheek, his thumb rubbing over her cheek to wipe away the pie filling, "It's okay. Really."
From her cheek, to her lips, his thumb rubbed away pie filling, Y/n couldn't help but stay suck, after all her years; no one had rubbed over her lip as he had; no one touched her so simply yet filled with infatuation.
She watched him look at his hand: most likely trying to avoid her gaze: and seeing pie filling on his thumb, his reaction was to clean his thumb with the help of his mouth.
"You do know how to bake." He complimented.
Y/n's gaze was intense, Finn feeling it and looking her way, realizing what he had done out of a childish instinct.
"Sorry!-" He pulled his hand away from his mouth, "bad habit-"
Finn went silent as Y/n grabbed his face firmly, his hands coming up to catch her elbows as he was pulled in.
Yet his grip on her elbows tightened, and Y/n paused.
"I..." Finn started softly, "I can't..."
What? He could feel Y/n's hands become clammy, nervous she had overstepped.
"I can't kiss you," Finn told her, "If I do- I...If I do..."
"You don't have to explain yourself, if you say no Finn,"
"That's not it, if I kiss you now, I won't be able to stop." Finn admitted, "And I'll want it all, to kiss all of you,"
"Kind of selfish don't you think? -" Y/n teased playing off her twist gut of nerves.
"Then I'm selfish," Finn answered her firmly, from the bottom of his eye he watched her teeth catch on her lips.
"And...if I would like to be selfish with you?" Y/n questioned.
"You can't." Finn told; "Whatever you tell me, I'll do, I'm yours."
With his answer; Y/n pulled him in for a kiss, and his hands slipped from her elbows to her sides and quickly wrapped around her torso. Her arms hooked around Finn's neck, a unbusy hand running into his hair as they kissed.
It was quick after the first few kisses that Finn took charge. He leaning her back: the slightest arch to back, which he followed with a hand. She tasted like elderberry pie, and she smelt faintly like iron and wood. He wondered if all of her tasted this good.
He pulled away from her lips: her hot breathe coming into contact with his lips.
"Stay the night," Y/n told him, her grip on the back of his neck firm with her thumb rubbing up and down the skin softly.
"Y/n...I..." Finn started, this was completely different: last time she had it so sweetly: now? Now she was firm with her words, her words sounded more like a demanded request, and he'd gladly fulfill them if he was right about the situation at hand.
Finn's hand slipped down her back, and to the hem of her shirt and slowly did he lift the side of her shirt as his hand creeped up to her skin. She was quick to grab his wrist when his skin met hers.
"Sorry-" Finn was quick to move his hand, yet she only let it pull off her skin.
"Your hands are cold," Y/n told him, letting go of his wrist, "reflex..."
"Still I should have asked-" Finn spoke.
"It's okay, I liked you touching me." Y/n admitted, leaning back into his hand, her hands coming to rub up and down his armored chest, "stay the night, I'm sure I'll figure out some way to get those hands warm,"
Finn was quick to nod, "So. Top or bottom?" She questioned with a smile.
"I..uh...both?"
Finn fell back in Y/n's messy bed, naked and full of sweat, panting heavy and hard, Y/n laid next to him, his arm under her head as her heavy pants matched his, hair a mess and sweating just as bed as Finn.
He wrapped his arm around her neck, pulling her into to kiss the top of her head. Her head coming up to rest on his shoulder.
"Are your hands warm?" She asked teasingly.
"Are your insides warm?" He teased back as slapped his chest playfully.
He could only chuckle and leaned to take her lips in a kiss.
"Love you." He muttered against her lips.
"Love you too," she mummbled back, kissing him back, before hiking herself up on an elbow to look down at him.
A smile in return for a smile, as her fingers came to dance along his face, lovingly rubbing along his cheek and eyebrow bone, admiring his looks by touch.
"What?" He chuckled.
"Nothing..." Y/n smiled, her fingers running into his hair, "Wanna go again?"
"You can go again?" He asked, mostly shocked.
"I still have my stamina from being a leafman." Y/n teased, "don't tell me leafmen slack off now. That's quiet disappointing."
She laid herself flat on her back, as Finn followed her, he the one now hiked up on an elbow, looking down at her, she smiled at him.
"I can ensure you no leafman slacks off." Finn defended.
"That so?" Y/n asked.
"That a challenge?"
"Maybe it is-"
Finn was quick to steal her lips as she chuckled into the kiss. She sat up during the kiss, pushing him back onto the bed, breaking the kiss. She climbed over him, his hands coming to hold the dips in her hips, rubbing up and down them. She leaned down to kiss him, she enjoyed the scruff of his beard tickling her chin, it made her chuckle here and there.
Yet there was a knock on the door, and Y/n ignored it, she too busy on the track to getting laid again.
Yet they kept knocking, and it became hard to ignore.
"What!?" Y/n shouted towards the door, "Who is it?"
"The tooth fairy!"
Y/n groaned and got up, dressing in whatever she grabbed and making it to the door. She opened the door with anger.
"What!?" Y/n argued.
"Well good morin' to you commander," Buffo spoke.
Y/n glared at him, "You need somethin' Buffo?"
Leaning against the door frame she crossed her arm in an angered matter. Looking through the door, Finn was in clear sight.
"Hate to ruin the bunnies but I need to get paid, you're pops owed me a lot of money!" Buffo spoke, "or else,"
Y/n watched a bodyguard stepped up, a second one besides them; "Not froggy enough to come by yourself buffo? Had to bring the hoes?"
Buffo snarled; "You should be glad I like you commander."
Y/n rolled her eyes, "You owe me my money,"
"I have your payment- not due by tomorrow."
"Well Christmas came early this year,"
Y/n slammed the door in his face; "Y/n-"
"Just give me a minute,"
She was quick to dip into the kitchen, and walk back out with a pouch, walking back towards the door she swung it open before throwing it at him, it hits him in the face hard.
"Oh, did I mention it's in coin? Like usual." Y/n snarked, "Now don't you or your boyfriends ever show up to my house again, or I'll be eatin frog legs,"
"I'm a toad!" Buffo argued Y/n slamming the door.
"And I'm a burlesque dancer," Y/n rolled her eyes. before looking over at Finn.
He was at his side looking up at her, "sorry-"
"No...it's...fine." he told her, Y/n walking towards the bed as he reached out to grab her hand, "I've got a thing I suppose for powerful woman."
"Oh?" Y/n chuckled, climbing onto the bed, sitting on her knees besides him.
"Stamina has been restored." Finn told, tugging her closer as he rose to kiss her lips.
She kissed back, smiling into the kiss, he pulling her down onto the bed as she laughed, his hand running up the shirt she was wearing. Y/n pushed him back, rolling them the opposite way she laid above him.
Pulling away she smiled at him; "Goodnight," She told him.
"Goodnight?" He asked in a playful tone.
"Yep," Y/n chuckled rolling over, wiggling her way into the bed.
"Y/n,"
"Sleeping-"
"Y/n," he complained.
"Asleep."
His arms came to wrap around her torso and bring her into his chest, kissing her shoulder, "You know its a really bad look, me naked and you not."
"Want me to join you?"
"I wouldn't mind."
Y/n chuckled, sitting up, as Finn followed, he watching her hike her shirt up and pull over her head.
"I love your back," Finn spoke.
Y/n chuckled, "My back?"
"Yeah,"
"And what's so great about it?" Y/n questioned.
"Curve? Strength?" Finn questioned.
Truth be told, he didn't know exactly what he liked so much about her back, she had freckles, really light ones, a scar here and there from her time as a leafman, lightened up over time of course.
"So pretty..." he spoke, kissing her bare shoulder, she shifted and he whined slightly, pulling his view away.
And off came her pants, leaving her bare allowing him to enjoy the view once again.
"Okay happy?"
"Very much so."
Y/n chuckled, and with a teasing tone, she spoke, "All right then, goodnight!"
Back in the covers, he followed her as she yelped in laughter. He grabbing and bringing her close and attacking her with kisses along her face.
They fell asleep unexpectedably, her head resting on his chest and his arm around her.
Her sleep shifting woke him, he groaning as she rolled the opposite way.
"Mhm...Morin..." Finn greeted, but got no response, turning to face her back he wrapped an arm around her torso, tugging her closer.
Y/n let out a low hum, she waking up, "Morin..." she spoke with a yawn.
"Did I wake you?"
Y/n shook her head no softly, "old habits die hard. Use to wakin up early..."
She turned towards him: smiling tiredly at him: "I had a lot of fun last night."
Finn smiled back: "Me too," his hand came up to move back her hair out her face.
"You hungry?" Y/n asked.
"Yeah,' he answered, "But you are not cooking again,"
"Oh whatever," She rolled her eyes.
"You did ask for my honesty, last night," Finn teased.
"I also asked for your-" Y/n started but Finn tossed a pillow at her in a teasing matter, he sat up in the bed.
"You didn't have to ask for that," Finn told her as she pulled down the pillow, he pecking her lips before climbing out of bed.
Work-in-Progress Wednesday
I'm still plugging away at my latest chapter. Have some Lydia shenanigans.
Tagging: @oblivions-dawn @mareenavee @dirty-bosmer @paraparadigm @blossom-adventures @rainpebble3 @snowberry-crostata @skyrim-forever @ladytanithia @saltymaplesyrup @throughtrialbyfire and anyone else who would like to participate. Yup, I am tagging YOU.
Left corner. Right corner. Rafters. Floor. Left corner. Right corner. Rafters. Floor. It makes her dizzy just to watch him. She leans forward when she gets no response from him, and the scent of burnt ozone fills her nostrils along with the sound of Ambarys’ fingers tapping—or rather twitching uncomfortably on the bar top. “Ambarys…”
He looks down at her, eyes widened and eyebrows raised almost into his hairline as if he had not noticed she was there despite the fact that he brought both her and Narile a drink. “Just fine, Lydia. Been very busy lately as you can see.” He swipes his arm across the bar, almost upsetting the two drinks he just brought as he indicates the mostly-full tavern. “Everything has been just fine.”
The bruised veins of his eyes make the red color look even more intense as they continue to dart about until they stop. Finally they settle, attention fixed on the steps to the upper floor as he stares at them in abject horror as if some phantasm would appear at any moment.
Lydia nudges Narile under the table as her eyes carefully check the room for a threat. She then leans in to whisper in her wife’s ear. “Something isn’t right here, and I am going to find out what. Stay here with your new friends, and if something should happen, go call on Galmar and tell him that there is suspicious activity happening at the Gnisis.”
“But—”
Lydia shakes her head slightly as she gives Ambarys what she hopes is a disarming smile. She doesn’t want him to think that anything is out of the usual for them. “You will stay here. Do you understand me?” She tucks a strand of hair behind her wife’s hear and places a kiss to her neck, lingering there for a moment. “Be good while I am gone, and make some more friends.”
She then straightens herself up and looks up at Ambarys who has since wandered his way to the other side of the bar and has started rewashing the same mug for the third time as his eyes continue to search the room. Something is definitely wrong here and she’s going to find out exactly what, starting with searching upstairs.
As slowly as she dares, she slides off from the stool she is sitting on before ducking her way behind some of the patrons standing in the middle of the room. All the while, her eyes focus on Ambarys. If she happens to get caught, she can just say she was going to the bathroom. It’s adjacent to the stairs to the second floor anyway. However, with the state he is in, she isn’t sure that he would be receptive to her explanation.
The old wooden planks creak ominously as Lydia’s foot touches the first stair, but she dare not look back at this point. Either she goes up now or not at all. As she ascends the staircase, each step she takes echos louder in her ears than the last and she is certain that Ambarys will come running at any moment—but he never does. She reaches the flat of the second floor without any problems. It almost seems too easy.
Reaching down to the pommel of her short sword, she continues her search carefully. First, her eyes drift around the first corner. Nothing. The second. Nothing. She turns her head around and even checks behind her. Dust, dirt, and depression. As much as the first floor has been remodeled, it would appear that the second did not merit that same treatment.
However, as Lydia continues forward, at the end of the hallway, she finally encounters something interesting. A closed door. She presses her ear against it to try to listen for movement. Still nothing, and when her hand reaches up to turn the handle, it is locked. Divines damn it. She has never been any good at lock picking, and for that same reason, she doesn’t carry any on her person.
Creak. Swish.
Isakied reader but of course it’s weird.
My friend was doodling on his notebook in class and he tapped my shoulder to show his doodle. It was Keaya without hair. He didn’t know what his hair looked like and he couldn’t just search it up in the middle of class. I, being the friend I am, began to draw a random hairstyle. You know what he said?
“That looks like Keaya, Rosaria and Venti combined..”
With that I got an idea! My ideas are dangerous but people like it so I am here feed the children. I have done my work.
You got isakied after eating an apple, it wasn’t your fault that the apple looked so delicious! But you ate the apple and passed out only to wake up by the sobs of a girl. You opened your eyes to find out who’s crying only to see Barbara and Bennett hugging each other while ugly crying. After a second or two of realizing you’re in genshin you finally announced your existence.
“Um, are you guys ok?” The two blonde hairs snapped their heads towards you before running up to you. Both were on their knees as is praying for your existence. As they where doing that they began saying sorry over and over again.
“I’m sorry to ask but what happened?” As soon as you said that Bennett started to tell you what happened. Apparently Barbara was helping Bennett with something and didn’t see you causing both of them to bump into you and you fell down the many many stairs……how in the fuck are you not dead?
“I’m so so so sorry! It’s my bad luck and and I’m sorry!!!” The ash blonde male said again causing you to say it’s ok. After that you decided to walk around the city of freedom only to see a child that was flying.
Paimon….the type of child that you love and wanna adopt but also want to set on fire at the same time. That must mean the traveler is here! Walking up to Paimon before asking her a question.
“Hey, where are your parents? Are they somewhere around here?” Paimon turned around to see you in all of your glory. At first she was angry at you for think she was alone then she realized that Aether was helping Keaya. Then she thought how nice you are for asking that while other people were looking at her like a monster.
“Paimon doesn’t have parents…..but Paimon does have a good friend named Aether! Paimon always hangs out with him!” She said as she flew toward you she seemed really happy to talk with you. You lead her to sit down by a nearby table. You asked her where Aether was to which she said he’s helping Keaya and Diluc.
“How bout we go find both of them?” She nodded to your question as she flew towards the Tavern. Opening the door was Aether passed out on the floor, Keaya sleeping or passed out to on a table, Venti hiding in the corner of the room with a chair for defense and lastly a angry bird, I- mean a angry Diluc.
“What happened here?” Paimon ask but soon hid behind you after seeing Dilucs glare. Reading the room either Keaya did something or venti did something. You vote both plus a bit of Aethers fault.
“These three walked into my tavern and began to talk about combining people….AND THEY WON’T TELL ME WHAT THEY MEAN!” He shouted while grabbing a spray bottle and spraying it at Venti who hissed in response. Nodding your head at what’s going on, you walked up to Diluc and told him to go take a break and you will handle them.
“MY SAVIOR!!!” Venti threw the chair to the side before running at you full speed to hug you. The force made you fall over but when you tried to stand back up venti held you down. He seemed to be cuddling you…..yeah that’s not gonna pass. Pushing him off very gently and patted his head.
“Paimon when did you get here?” Aether asked rubbing his head. Paimon only huffed in response and turned around so her back faced him. She’s angry at him that he passed out and didn’t tell her!
“May I ask what made Diluc scream his head off?” You shouldn’t have asked that question because now you were told how Venti wanted to see if combining people into one person was possible. As they were talking about how different people would looked mashed together they remembered Albedo was a thing. But they were at the Tavern already and Alfredo was in his cold bowl of noodles, being an introvert to the fullest. So they were talking more about it till Diluc threw a chair at Aether and a wine bottle at Keaya.
I recently bought all the Witcher books and tonight I finally started reading them. So far I've only read the first chapter of the last wish (the strigga) and I found that it introduces Geralt's character rather well. It shows him willing to try and cure the princess unless nearly impossible. It shows how he works while on contracts. I was wondering if you think it does a good job or not?
(sorry, I have no one else to discuss the books with. I hope this is okay)
Have a great day / night!
- 👻
This is more than ok! I'm so happy when people want to talk about the books with me!
You know what I find so interesting about that short story? It was written first, as a total one-off. So when it became popular, Sapko was like...shit...I better build a character and do some world building. (I am of course paraphrasing him. He says this in one of his interviews but I'm not gonna get the exact quote).
So, when I look at that story, I see really strong indications of who Geralt is going to be. Like it is actually miraculous how much that first story leads flawlessly into who he becomes, the challenges he faces, and where his story goes.
But there is one part that I'm like...yea...Geralt never does anything like that again. It is so jarring in the context of what he goes on to do with Geralt. The world building shifts significantly later. Also, the way the author changes his implied origin story later on, is amazing and so so funny.
Ok, first the themes that end up being definitive and that carry throughout the series:
Geralt has a round medallion with on a silver chain with the head of a wolf on it.
He takes elixirs that turn his eyes black and his skin chalky.
He is a canny professional. He does not let the wealthy nobles and kings pay him cheaply.
Geralt is always put in difficult political situations he must navigate. The king pays him to save the princess. The mages and nobles secretly offer him money to kill the striga. He is put in the middle.
But he is calm and thoroughly unintimidated, even by King Foltest. When Foltest threatens to hang him if he kills the striga, but also says Geralt can kill her only as a last resort in self defense...well? How would Foltest know which was which if he isn't there? And would he believe Geralt if he told him "I killed her in self defense." Geralt is taking his life into his own hands on like three different fronts here. All other witchers but one wisely walked away from this offer.
Geralt is an incredibly insightful judge of character. He has Ostrit's number right away.
Geralt does not hesitate to defend himself. Ostrit threatens him, puts his hand on his sword, and Geralt is like OPE FOUND MY MONSTER BAIT. Literally does not give a fuck what happens to the man after that.
Geralt is resourceful, inventive, and brave. At the risk of his own life, he saves the princess. Of course he does.
Things that are changed, transformed, or at least just seem different to me. (I could be wrong? What do you think?)
Geralt and Rivia. So, funnily enough, when Geralt walks into the tavern and those dudes harass him, it isn't because he is a witcher! It is because he is Rivian. Apparently everyone in that city fucking hates Rivians, and Geralt has a Rivian accent. And then of course in later books, we read that he chose the name "of Rivia" by drawing straws! That he isn’t Rivian! So did he take the name and then practice that accent until it fools like an entire tavern full of people? Why? My guess it's all Sapko's sense of humor and just came up with that bit later. Because it's just the kind of poking at fantasy conventions that he loves to do. One of the best jokes of the entire series is when Geralt does officially become "of Rivia" in a way I won't spoil for anyone reading who doesn't know.
Monsters monsters everywhere. In this story, Lord Velerad talks about how monsters are increasing. But in a later story, Geralt laments that they are decreasing. And the decrease of monsters is part of what makes witchers expendable enough and enough of competition for mages that they turn on them. So idk either I'm missing something, or the story just evolved.
Geralt and murder. This book opens with Geralt murdering three men. Sure, the men are trying to throw him out of a tavern. But there is nothing anywhere to say they are armed. And then Foltest says that he knows Geralt did it just to get his attention and get him the contract.
Contrast that with the last book written, and Geralt won't just NOT kill people, he won't even let a THIRD PARTY (an aguara) kill these vile vile men who have assaulted and killed a child. Though most of the time I find Geralt is somewhere in the middle. He will kill out of protection of self and others and is fairly flexible on the definition. But slaughter three people for good pr? I don't know. It doesn't feel like the Geralt that we get to know later. Again. I could be wrong. There are a lot of context and nuance in eight books and people often see things that I don't.
Also, it's cool that we meet Foltest so early. He is young, slim, "too pretty". He is strong willed and kingly. He is willing to hang people who defy him. He commands respect. He is smart already. He knows his mages and advisors are paying Geralt behind his back.
He, of course, had an incestuous relationship with his sister. But he also truly, deeply loves his granddaughter ETA Correction: daughter. And though he threatens Geralt, he doesn't talk down to him. He respects him.
I think that nuanced kind of character is really good shit and tells us what we have in store for the rest of the series.
(also, PS, an interviewer once described this story to Sapko as a fable to illustrate the dangers of incest. And Sapko was like....what? It's a what? He was like no no I don't do morality tales. That is not what this is. It's just a story, buddy. Again, I'm paraphrasing. I ain't looking it up. lol)
You can’t just write that lovely Aegon and wife smut and only mention them going to brothel together in passing. Please if you are up to it could you write a fic or head canons of Aegon and his wife watching the other get please by the twins or other men. (I bet Aegon would swing both ways)
Tumblr media
It'd been your idea. Aegon planned on having a simple evening out with you on the streets of King's Landing. You two might walk into a tavern, full of music and laughter, and drink beer and ale until your minds went numb. You might happen upon a fight or a street race or whatever exciting thing the citizens of King's Landing had in store for the night. He never expected to end up on the Street of Silk, even less expected to end up at the front door of The Blue Pearl
The Blue Pearl is one of the finer pleasure houses in King's Landing. It served a wealthy clientele, had good wine and ale, musicians, dancing girls, and the prettiest women and men money could buy. You liked this particular pleasure house since they're one of the few who catered to female clients as well as male. Also, you liked the beaded belts the girls wore to keep their dresses together.
The madam there greeted you both with a wide smile. She apparently never anticipated Prince Aegon and Princess Y/N to step into her establishment. She served you both a round of the finest Dornish wine she had, and rounded up the prettiest faces in her lineup. She had women and men from every walk of life, shape, and color. Aegon let you decide because if he's left to choose, he'd take all of them.
"We do have this fine Dornish wine," you said, sipping from your cup and walking down the line of half-dressed women and men. "How about we have some Dornish girls to go with it?"
She'd stopped right in front of them. Their copper skin contrasted with the white, linen dresses they wore. Long black curls tied back with golden headbands, the twins stared back at you with large, almond-shaped brown eyes. Gorgeous. Alluring. Aegon's interest piqued seeing you stand closer to them. You examined one twin by gently taking her chin and turned her face this way and that way. You did the same to her sister. You asked them for their names: Cassana and Cassella.
"What do you think, my love?" you asked him, that flirtatious twinkle in your eyes.
"I like them," he told you.
And so you, Cassana and Cassella walked into a private room off to the side, and Aegon followed right behind you. His cock already started stiffening seeing the cheer gowns they wore. It showed off the right amount of skin to appeal to a man's lustful mind, but enough to be modest. Then, he looked at you. You wore a long gown that cinched at your waist and tied at the nape of your neck. This way, he saw the sides of your breasts and back. He licked his lips and drank more wine eyeing your gorgeous figure. You'd only married two months ago, and he'd become absolutely addicted to you. He's surprised you are not with child yet. Perhaps you are. It didn't matter. Aegon would gladly spend his day fucking you hard and deep if he could.
You, Cassana and Cassella climbed onto the large, circular bed in the middle of a room. Red and orange drapes covered the windows and walls; he saw more seating areas where more people could be entertained. He'd gladly bring in more people in, if he wasn't so eager to have you three to himself. Aegon can usually handle two women at most, so three would be a challenge. He started undressing while the three of you kissed and fondled each other on the bed. You laid between the twins, who took turns kissing you and touching your breasts. Light brushes over the right spots, and deep kisses with them showing off their tongues, Aegon's cock twitched in his breeches. Carefully, each of you undressed the other. First, dresses fell to your waists so only your tits showed. Each twin cupped a breast, and you whimpered as they started sucking and licking your nipples. Laying flat on your back, they straddled your thighs and continued teasing your breasts. Aegon reached forward and tugged down the rest of your gowns. All three of you.
You all giggled playfully as he kissed each of you in turn. He started on Cassana, who smelled like jasmine flowers, by grabbing her tits and kissing her neck and shoulder. He looked over to see you with her twin sister, teasing her nipples while the woman moaned in your mouth. He joined you in kissing her, sliding his tongue between your mouths and grabbing Cassella's ass.
Aegon didn't realize how much he enjoyed watching you with other people until tonight. He sat back, cock in hand, as you and the twins continued on. Cassana went down your body; her sister kissing you deeply and pinching your breast, Cassana spread your legs and began leaving soft licks on your mound. Aegon groaned, stroking himself slowly. He saw her pink tongue whirl around your clit, sliding over and under it while you moaned in her sister's mouth. He squeezed his tip, rubbing his thumb over the top as she rubbed your pussy with her tongue. The mewling sounds you made aroused him further.
He took your hand and brought it to his crotch. Instinctively, you grabbed his harden shaft and started stroking him. Eventually, he knelt beside you, holding himself out to slide between yours and Cassella's mouths. The touch of two tongues on his dick made him moan lowly. You worked on his shaft while Cassella sucked on his tip. He stared in a trance at Cassana between your thighs. Spreading your lips with her thumbs, she focused of her tongue on the center of your clit. He saw the tip of her tongue tease the little nub until you were squirming in her arms. He supposed years living in a pleasure house made them experts at getting customers off quickly.
He'd have none of that.
He slid himself fully into your mouth and Cassella joined her sister below. Aegon stared down at the twins working on you, and never seen anything as erotic: his love being eaten out by two gorgeous women. His cock muffled the squeals and cries their tongues let out of you; the soft humming sent vibrations that drove him wild. He grabbed one of your breasts to play with while the twins brought you closer and closer to climax. He saw your thighs clenching up and your hands balling into your fists as they started swiping at your pussy in turns. You were so close. Aegon could almost taste it.
"Stop," he told them, withdrawing himself from your mouth. Aegon," you whimpered as they pulled away from you.
"I want all three of you to suck my cock," he told you, sitting down on the bed. "Then I'm going to fuck each of you hard and deep."
"Do you really think you can handle all three of us, my prince?" you asked cheekily, pecking his lips as you laid him against the pillows. "You can finish quite quickly when you're excited."
"Come and find out then," he challenged.
You all began working on his cock right away. Cassana sucked and licked his balls, tickling the orgasm slowly tightening inside him. You ran your tongue up and down the side of his shaft, while Cassella sucked his leaking tip.
Aegon fell into a pleasure-driven, erotic, euphoric, desperate abyss. He tried his best to keep himself from finishing as each of you rode him. While one one bounced on his length, the other two laid beside him, rubbing each other's sexes as they watched and waited their turn.
"Please fuck me, my prince," you whimpered as he threw you onto your stomach, lifted your ass up, and slid himself into your pussy. Holding you down by your neck, he shoved into you deeply. Your sex hugged his length, and practically sucked him into your body. He let you get onto your elbows so you could suck Cassella's soaking pussy. Her sister sat on her face, so Aegon spotted her tongue flicking the pearl of her pussy.
He nearly came, but held it back to fuck Cassella in the same position, and her sister afterwards. His thighs, legs, arms, and stomach all burned from the various positions. Sweat glistened on his pale skin, sticking strands of blond to his forehead. Finally, he came after ages of making the three of you cum over and over. Streams of white dripped into your open mouths, all of you swallowing whatever bits he squeezed out.
Aegon still thinks on this night fondly, especially on lonely nights.
Tolkien elves and dwarves have a laundry list of reasons why they hate each other.  For starters, when the elves and dwarves first encountered each other, they were very startled because until that point, each group had thought they were the only intelligent, self-aware beings in Middle Earth.  Right off the bat, the elves named the dwarves Gonnhirrim, which means ‘masters of stone,’ which is nice until you realize they also called them the Naugrim, which means ‘stunted people’ and if I was called that by a race of ethereal, graceful creatures, I’d probably be throwing shade right back, too.  But one of the big reasons for the animosity is the incident with the Nauglamír Necklace, which sounds like the start of a heist movie, but here’s the long and short of what happened:
King Thingol of Doriath, sewing the seeds of his own destruction like a boss, tasked Beren with retrieving one of the three Silmarils from the crown the Morgoth in order to prove himself worthy of his daughter Lúthien.  Beren succeeded and for a time, this Silmaril remained in Thingol’s keeping, incurring the wrath of the sons of the elf Fëanor who were oath-and-honor-bound to retrieve the Silmarils, no matter what atrocities they would commit along the way.
The Nauglamír Necklace was created by dwarves and presented to Finrod Felagund, king of Nargothrond and one of Galadriel’s four brothers.  After the destruction of Nargothrond, the necklace was retrieved by Húrin, which he later cast before the feet of Thingol as ‘payment’ for the elf king’s safekeeping of his children, Túrin and Nienor.  Túrin and Nienor’s story is a Greek tragedy full of misfortune and sadness, so this payment was a mockery born of Húrin’s anger.  Of course, Morgoth the embodiment of evil had a huge hand to play in all of this, but since this post is about dwarf and elf animosity, we’re going to move on.
Anyway, Thingol commissioned some dwarves to set the Silmaril in his keeping into the Nauglamír Necklace.  This was completed, but the dwarves coveted the Silmaril and tried to take the Nauglamír Necklace back, stating the elf it had been originally made for was now dead and Thingol had no right to it.  Seeing through this excuse as a pretense to get their hands on the Silmaril, Thingol mocked the dwarves and they naturally got mad, killed him, and took the Nauglamír and the Silmaril.  Before the dwarves could escape Doriath, though, they were ambushed and most of them were killed by elves.  The survivors, however, returned home and spun a story about how they had completed Thingol’s request, but he had refused to pay them and had ordered their deaths.  Now there were some dwarves who guessed the truth and tried to persuade the others, but the ‘dwarves who were cheated’ story is still probably hanging around to this day.
So there you have it, a little lore regarding the mistrust between elves and dwarves.  I picture some poor guy telling this story in a tavern and then a belligerent Thorin comes up behind him and is all like,  “Is that how you understand that story?”
putting your body in harm’s way for them // aot headcanon
aot x black plus-size gnc reader
{mdni/f}
a/n: levi is trans. again cannot process the (y/n) format so i choose names to input. helps so much more :3 you can see the scenarios get shorter as i realize these aren’t full fics and i need to calm tf down. I would like to think this is proofread🧌,,,enjoy!
hange
it was the night the return of an expedition, the tavern livened with slurred singing and the smell of spilled alcohol
“another round for all my comrades and i!” hange announced to the bartender, raising their half-empty mug
the soldiers cheered on their commander, swaying along to the music playing
kayin helped hange sit down, taking a gulp of their own drink when they were sure hange was stable on the bench
“i don’t think they should be drinking anymore,” levi grumbled, narrowing their eyes at a couple of people who bumped into their back
wrapping their arm around hange’s torso, kayin gave a lopsided smile. “i’m gonna take care of them levi, don’t worry”
“you don’t need that shit either, actually,” was levi’s rebuttal. “that table over there is starting to look like they want to beat all our asses”
“the who?” hange turned around and raised a fist and shook it. “say it to my fa-”
without breaking eye contact with levi, kayin put a hand over hange’s mouth “the war’s over. i will tell them personally to unclench their assholes”
“i think it’s ‘cuz they aren’t used to seeing people like us together. what did you call it again?”
“gay”
“‘cuz we’re gay? yeah each and every one of us” hange slurred, raising a mug and nearly spilling its contents
“well-“ levi began.
hange narrowed their eye at them. “each and every one”
levi pinched the bridge of their nose. “and you’re talking entirely too loud. good lord”
after the next round of drinks were delivered to the table, the rambunctious couple took their place on the clear space in the middle of the bar boots stomping down on the wood as their bodies waltzed across the floor
the team harmonized a cheer, gleeful in their claps and single-syllable chants
the couple held their mugs in their right hands, left arms circling each other’s waists, holding on tight
laughter arose between the two when some of the beer spilled during their erratic movements
“if you’re not careful you’re going to drop that mug all over those weirdos glaring at us,” kayin warned hange, lips close to their ear
“if fate prefers it, then i shall let that happen,” hange responded, devilish
kayin gave a pointed look. “no. not tonight. we are not getting into anything”
“we never get into anything,” hange muttered, “they get into it with us! duh!”
kayin chuckled, shaking their head. “just finish your drink. i’m about to spin you”
hange smiled and then chugged down their drink, setting the cup down on a random table beside them
a hand grabbed hange’s before they could fully let go of the mug
“get your shit off of our table-”
kayin pried a single finger from the grip, not hesitating to break it
immediately the man’s hold loosened, scream of agony falling from his lips
“don’t ever think you can touch them like that,” kayin hissed, eyes darkening. they stepped in front of hange
multiple individuals rose from the table, coming forward
“one more step and i will fight until your blood vessels give out. all of you.”
there was a reason the couple had gotten into multiple fights and always came out unscathed
one thing about kayin—don’t put a finger on their partner
the group stepped back. they couldn’t deny they hadn’t heard about kayin’s encounters from town gossip
“before we get back to our wonderful night. does anyone have anything else they want to say?” kayin finished off their drink.
the men diverted their gaze
setting the mug gently on the table, kayin’s demeanor brightened, making the group flinch. “good!”
mikasa
atieno and mikasa were on their evening walk, hand intertwined with each other’s as they ambled down the trail
“…way better eyesight than you,” atieno commented, a teasing tone shadowing their voice
mikasa laughed. “when we visited that country last month you could not drive the rented car for the life of you.”
atieno furrowed their bushy brows, an incredulous look etched into their face. “that’s experience? take a look at the place where we grew up. technological advances mimicking those machines are just starting to crawl. you’re lucky we didn’t crash.”
“lucky…hmm” mikasa pondered, pursing their lips.
“would you have taken the wheel?” atieno’s opposite hand came to their right ear as they leaned towards their partner
mikasa emitted a ‘hmph’, piping down
“and hush falls over the crowd.” atieno straightened their towering stature, pleased at the lack of rebuttal. “we got from point a to point b unscathed and you dare question my abilities.” they shook their head in dismay, looking around the corner before leading mikasa into another path towards their apartment
“sasha and their partner had complaints too!”
atieno downturned their lips. “i didn’t hear anything about it.”
“because you turn into a big baby. like right now.” mikasa poked atieno’s cheek, feigning a pout
rebuttal locked and loaded, atieno put it on pause to halt their movements, making mikasa pull their hand away from their cheek
then they heard the scuffling from both alleys
mikasa got in a position ready to fight but atieno spoke
“no”
mikasa contorted their face, mildly offended. “who are you talking to?”
atieno continued walking until the two individuals rose from the darkness, guns aimed at the couple
“give us your jewelry and money, now”
mikasa’s hand tightened around atieno’s, signaling for them not to try anything
there had been attempts at robbing the couple before but those instances were hand to hand scenarios
guns weren’t exactly new but mikasa didn’t expect to see two pointing their way by the end of date night
the occasion being one of the thieves first encounters, a trembling finger over the trigger prematurely fired a bullet in mikasa’s direction
mikasa felt theirself stumble back slightly, atieno’s body coming into the view before they could process how to defend them
atieno raised a hand, maneuvering an object in their hand
the bullet crashed against a metal fan, falling to the cobble sidewalk
folding it swiftly, atieno launched theirself at the first attacker, peripheral waiting for any movement from the other robber
fear racking their body, the same person shot again
atieno unfolded the fan in front of their face blocking the bullet before swiping the device at the gun, its sharp blade cutting through the barrel of the weapon
the man’s face contorted in horror before atieno sent him down the sidewalk with a kick to the chest
“wait!” the other robber surrendered, arms up
atieno froze, the blade of their fan near the attacker’s wrist
they dropped the gun, atieno snatching the weapon mid-fall and tucking it away
hands rid of the fans, atieno formed a fist, connecting it with the person’s jaw, knocking them unconscious
atieno turned back to mikasa, smoothing out their coat as they returned to their partner
“marry me?” mikasa saw atieno with a ethereal glow around their body as the heat flourished in their lower abdomen.
“why do you say that after you see me beat someone’s ass?”
“...why not?”
sasha
“this is way different than my hometown, kagiso.” sasha followed close behind, astonished at the thickness of vegetation in this area of the island
kagiso steered the horse along an unnoticeable trail, familiarity acting as their guide. “i guess it just reminded me of here then.” they brought their horse to a stop, sasha doing the same
“we’re on foot from here”
kagiso hurried off their horse to help sasha down from theirs
face reddening, sasha put their hands over kagiso’s while they lifted them and then set sasha on the ground
“i can definitely get off a horse by myself,” sasha chided, knowing deep down they loved being carried by them
“hush. i know you like being carried”
visiting kagiso’s hometown, they offered to show sasha the terrain on a small hike
they traveled outside the clan’s barricade deep into the forest, where kagiso insisted the landscape was challenging enough for the hike
“just stay close. can’t tell you how many times my friends and i used to have our asses handed to us by this shit,” kagiso said, not even looking where they were going as they went along an unmarked oath
sasha watched with an incredulous look on their face. “is this not regular dirt? what am i missing?”
“oh it’s regular. this particular part of the island just likes to have random dips and cracks that won’t hesitate to tear a ligament, easily.”
“ah, great.” sasha hesitated to ask about the evolution of animals
half an hour in the trek, sasha had toughed out the obstacles, grunting as they climbed up a rocky incline
“you good?” kagiso called out from behind sasha, guarding any potential falls that could occur
“you lookin at my ass?”
“always.”
sasha finished their climb, letting out a breath. turning around, they faced kagiso and raised their arms in victory
“you might not want to-”
sasha began hopping up and down in glee, breathing heavily. “you owe me a fuckload of-”
their body fell backwards, arms frantically reaching out for something to magically appear and save them from the fall off the ledge
kagiso’s hands appeared, pulling sasha up so hard they stumbled backwards back down the hill
sasha prepared theirself for the shocks of pain but as their bodies suddenly came to a stop, they eyes shot open to look at their partner
“oh lord, those rocks really fucked me over”
kagiso’s bloodied face came into view, kickstarting sasha’s heartbeat
sasha tackled kagiso, enveloping them into a hug until they groaned in pain
“you can thank me all you want after we stop the bleedin’” they gave a dazed crooked smile, bloodied teeth on display
“oh my-yeah, let’s go.”
ymir
hand gripping their titan’s hair, itai looked behind them at the abnormal hopping from tree to tree speeding after them
“what the fuck is up with it?” itai hissed
ymir grunted in a questioning tone, swinging from a branch and flying through the air, planting their feet on another before speeding through foliage to evade the abnormal
the two soldiers had gotten separated from the rest of the squad, the accumulation of titans on the team creating panic and sending them off in different directions
ymir was already worried with itai’s ‘i will never die’ attitude during training, staying close to them since the beginning of the expedition, knowing a situation just like this would arise
“it’s fast. we’re gonna need to kill it soon,” itai replied. “i’ll look for an opening”
ymir wished that they could speak, because if they could, they would have denied the motion immediately and cussed itai out
instead they let out a growl, moving quicker through the trees
“the minute we stop for any reason that fucker is gonna be launching itself at us. and knowing you i would rather not be caught between that fight nor have you be at risk of getting injured so damn far in the forest.” they adjusted their hold on ymir’s hair. “i am not carrying your ass.”
itai squinted their eyes at the path in front of them, planning a strategy
“okay…” they blew out a breath, rolling back their shoulders. “don’t be mad at me.”
itai directed their hooks downward, pulling theirself towards the forest floor, watching the abnormal redirect their movement towards them
just before they hit the ground itai launched the hooks into the trunk of a tree, missing the mouth of the titan chomping down
using the moment of instability, itai sunk the device in the titan’s flesh, bringing theirself directly towards the creature
itai sliced through the titan’s right limbs, dodging its last attempt to attack, running up onto its body and dismantling its nape
ymir landed in front of itai, making their way toward them full speed
“oh fuck”
itai was snatched up and taken back into the trees
“i said don’t be mad! whoa!” itai tried to balance theirself as they were set on a branch. “instead of stopping to cuss me out, we should be trying to rendezvous with the team”
ymir perched their titan on the surface, then rose from the steaming flesh of the nape
“you fucking idiot.” their jaw was clenched, brows knitted together. “i swear when we get back-”
“i’ll get a kiss?” itai proposed with a timid smile
ymir narrowed their eyes. “not before i choke you out”
“dunno. sounds like a win-win to me”
levi
“i’m thinking of going camping outside the perimeter soon,” desta murmured, flipping through their journal as their partner laid their head in their lap
levi’s eye opened immediately, brow quirking
desta moved their journal, the burning gaze through the back catching their attention. “yes?”
“outside the perimeter? des, there are plenty of closer, safer locations to camp at,” levi proposed
desta sighed already prepared for their argument.
the first thing levi would always do when desta announced a lone adventure into the wild was to first, offer a location they could definitely follow them too and if that “failed”…
“we could also just…” the second option was to insert theirself, completely subtle or not
“levi, you don’t have to pop a vessel worrying about me. that’s my home. the environment i was born into. my first fights were with wild animals”
“i don’t give a fuck if they had raised you,” levi spoke back. “it’s entirely too dangerous”
“if i just let you come can we not have this conversation?” desta gave in.
levi frowned. “let me? there would be no trip without me.”
“please levi, i’ve snuck so many trips under your nose,” desta scoffed, then cleared their throat as their skin warmed.
“you what?”
“i wha-? you know what? i have been holding my pee in for so long. lemme go take care of that.”
the night of the trip desta couldn’t contain their excitement to travel outside the perimeter
this opposed levi’s rigidness, gaze focused on their partner as they set up the contraption in the trees, hand gripping straps of desta’s climbing gear
“don’t look at me like that. this is much safer than the ground.” desta grunted, as they tightened the rope around the trunk of a tree, sweat dripping down their face and body
“who the fuck camps in trees?” levi mumbled.
“when the hunters from our clan went out for hunts, this is how they slept.”
“i know. that question didn’t need an actual answer”
“i know. i just like getting on your nerves.” desta stuck their tongue out and then attempted to jump into the safety net set up
“oop” desta hung in levi’s grip, their gaze dark
“don’t ever try that again.”
the ladder levi had set up to reach the tent was right there
when the couple entered the tent, desta tossed aside their clothes, letting the breeze caress their dark brown skin
levi stared without a peep, a blush creeping across their cheeks
“the air is so good up here” desta clapped their hands, getting on their hands and knees beside levi
“you still have your clothes on?”
“i think i’d prefer it.”
in the middle of the night, desta felt the warmth emanating from their partner disappear pulling them from their own slumber in an instant
“levi?” desta rubbed their eyes, squinting at levi’s outline at the entryway of the tent
they looked back at desta, hearing their name and that's when they saw the look in levi’s eye
“wait, levi-”
levi dashed out of the tent, running down the ladder
desta wouldn’t dare let theirself be with levi if they couldn’t handle their partner’s episodes
they were on levi’s heel, running after them with their body in the nude. they hissed at the wood digging into their feet and small splinter, trying to ignore the pain as they reached out to grab levi before they could take one bad step
however, the step was indeed taken
levi’s foot slipped off the side of the branch, the left side of their body hitting the bark, bringing them to their senses
grunting, desta caught levi’s hand, gaze focused on the top of their head and not the forest floor so far from where levi was hanging from. they pulled them up into the branch, panting heavily
“…i should start training with no clothes on.”
“des-”
Chapter 4 - The Red Haired Woman
Part 1 - The Port Town Tavern
As Celica, Genny, Boey, and Mae had not left Novis Island since they were young, this was their first time seeing the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Though it was large, Novis Greatport was nothing more than a rural port town. Still, it felt to them like another world, and they were in utter shock when they first laid eyes upon it, neither holy nor depraved, but still a town full of too much activity for them, unrelated to their world of prayer and faith.
Regardless, it was not such a stretch for Celica and her friends to be so wide-eyed. Even Valbar, Leo, and Saber, who all knew Zofia Harbor very well, tilted their heads at the strange energy this port town was filled with when they stepped off the boat.
"It's strange. Desaix's insurrection was successful, so the people should all be in fear, knowing that his tyranny will soon reach them. Yet they seem to be in high spirits as always." Valbar said.
Saber answered, "Desaix is no fool. He probably won over the people with pardons, or by lowering their taxes."
Still, this town felt as if it was in the middle of a festival. Wine bottles were rolling around everywhere, and all the merchants in the area had tied up their pack horses to dance down the main street with the tavern girls. Their drivers were not shouting at them to come back, but simply waiting patiently for the commotion to calm down.
"Maybe there really is a festival going on?" Leo murmured as he took in a good look of the town before noticing something. He stood next to Boey, who was utterly captivated by the bewitching attire of one of the dancers, then elbowed him in the side and pointed at something with a nudge of his chin.
When Boey looked in the direction the suggestively smiling Leo was suggesting to him, he saw two pegasi tied together outside a tavern.
"Pegasus Knights are always total knockouts, or so I've heard." Leo said.
Boey's face turned bright red.
"They don't appear to be Valencian pegasus knights. And there's two of them! Lucky you, finding two foreign girls when you're just getting started!!"
…As the two had chatted earlier while still on the ship as it faced the harbor, they learned they were only two years apart in age. Leo was of course the older one, but he made the gap seem even greater than it already was, and teased Boey for his ignorance of the world.
Leo pointed out in particular, quiet enough so that Mae would not hear, that they only lost their temper with each other because Boey did not know how beautiful the women of the world outside his own were. Leo told him all about the beautiful women of each region he'd traveled to as part of his lifestyle as a unit, and Boey was enraptured the entire time, his eyes sparkling with wonder.
"And as we travel, you too will meet even more beautiful women than you could ever imagine!" Leo said, and Boey's dreams grew and grew slowly but untiringly, like the movement of their ship slowly progressing across the seas.
"Now let's go!" Leo started to walk towards the tavern the pegasi were tied next to.
Boey looked back, but still followed after him.
"Oh dear…" Genny sighed, exasperated.
Mae watched him leave with her mouth twisted in a disapproving frown.
Celica put an arm around her shoulders to console her.
“He's such a child!” Mae grumbled under her breath.
As Mae spoke, Celica turned to the remaining men in their group and said, "I know! Let's have a toast to celebrate Saber for transcending into a Myrmidon and turning over a new leaf. We have a long road ahead of us. We'll need all the strength we can get!"
"And to honor Kamui." Saber added, putting a hand on Kamui's scarf around his neck.
"He would never pass up an opportunity to drink, either!" Valbar said, and slapped Saber's shoulder.
Everyone started walking towards the tavern.
-
The men both ordered strong liquor, and the women all ordered herbal tea.
"This won't be any celebration at all if you drink that stuff!" Valbar protested, and asked the bearded bartender to bring them three orders of sparkling wine as well.
"We don't have anything like tea anyway!" The bartender said, and started to walk away.
Before he could, Celica looked at Genny and Mae for a moment with a smile on her face.
They smiled back.
She stopped the bartender and said, "Change our orders to the same thing they're having!"
"You got it." He assured them with a wink, then disappeared into the kitchen with a roaring laugh.
Now, it was Valbar and Saber's turn to look at her.
"I shouldn't have underestimated you!" Valbar said.
"Now he's going to make their drinks stronger than ours!" Saber said, and scrunched up his nose.
Genny clasped her hands together in front of her chest and uttered under her breath, "Please forgive us, Sage Nomah."
They all heard her, and laughed loudly together.
"Pegasus Knights are never this stubborn!!" Leo said as he returned to the group.
Boey was close behind, sitting down with disappointment written all over his face.
The pegasus knights had been sitting in the corner, but were already gone.
"They probably didn't want to waste their time with someone who's still just a baby. You shouldn't have come with me, Boey!" Leo scowled.
"That's not what they were thinking at all! They didn't like how you were talking to them!" Boey argued back. "You sounded like a thug!"
"What are you talking about?! It's all your fault because you couldn't bring yourself to say a single word to them!" Leo's tone changed to a teasing one. "So, which one did you fancy? Let me guess. You liked the older sister. I think you've got a thing for older girls, don't you? Mae's older than you, right?"
"Hey, don't bring Mae into this!" Boey said, and glared at Leo.
Mae couldn't leave well enough alone, either. "What are you saying about Boey and me!? He's like a whiny child! I wish a pegasus would step on him and crack his skull open!!"
"You've got some nerve, saying something like that out loud!" Boey growled.
The two continued shouting back and forth, glaring daggers at each other.
Even though they had just met, Valbar and Leo were already used to the two fighting.
"So those Pegasus Knights were sisters?" Valbar asked.
Leo answered, "Yeah, they said they're from Archanea."
"Archanea?"
"They're searching for their youngest sister. She was kidnapped by Grieth."
"Archanea's the country that was recently at war, isn't it?" Saber asked. "I heard the hero Marth successfully reunified it."
"I've caught word of that rumor as well." Valbar said. "But it's a very far away land. It has nothing to do with the politics of Rigel and Zofia. I don't think there's even any ships that travel in that direction."
"If they fly in a tailwind, then pegasi can probably make it across the seas." Leo said, just as the bartender was coming back with their drinks.
He put a bottle in the center of the table, then placed a thick ceramic cup in front of each person. The sunlight shining in through the window reflected off the completely transparent bottle, and cast a rainbow on the table beneath it.
Valbar took all of the cups, opened the bottle, and started pouring each person a drink. Once each person had a full cup, they all said cheers, and started to drink.
The bartender did not move, still standing in front of them.
Saber realized what he was looking for, and handed over payment for the bottle.
"You all look like you're units." The bartender said as he took the silver coins. "If you've come looking for work, then you're out of luck."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know who you were hoping to hire you, but they're already done looking. The rebellion is over."
"Has the royal family regained the throne?" Celica asked.
"No, they haven't. The remaining members of the Knights of Zofia recaptured the castle. Unfortunate for units who had plenty of work until now, but still a joyous occasion. Anyway, let me know when you run out." The bartender returned to the kitchen.
So Desaix's grip over Zofia had been loosened enough that the people were celebrating. They no longer felt they had to worry about his oppression. If the Knights of Zofia had retaken the castle, then the government, economy, and abundance of peace they had always known should return to what it once was. And that was why this town was in such high spirits.
"Well that was a sudden downfall. Does it mean Desaix wasn't really all that strong?" Valbar said, and the conversation at their table naturally shifted towards a discussion of Desaix's cruel methods.
Having been sent to Novis Island to live largely secluded lives, Celica, Genny, Boey, and Mae had only heard rumors. However, to Valbar, Saber, and Leo, any and all movements in politics directly affected their lives, and so they knew all about Chancellor Desaix's politics.
"The members of the royal family died one after the other of illness, but that too was all part of Desaix's plans. I heard that a contagious illness was spreading throughout the castle, but no matter how you look at it, it's unnatural that every member of the royal bloodline, including their extended relatives, would die of the same illness. And the ministers were all killed to cover up the truth, making for quite a convenient inconvenience." Valbar explained further.
"Princess Anthiese is said to be the only member of the royal family alive today, though none know where she is." Saber said.
"Princess Anthiese?" Valbar responded with a question, signaling that he did not seem to know anything about her.
Saber continued, "She is the daughter of King Lima IV and his first queen Liprica, making her the crown princess. You know of Holy Knight Mycen, right?"
"Of course. He is the ideal that all us units strive to become."
"Mycen was probably the first and only person to realize what Desaix was truly planning so early on. He took Princess Anthiese from the castle when she was just a baby to protect her from Desaix's cruelty."
"But Mycen was chased out of the castle as part of Desaix's plot."
"No, that's not what really happened. The truth is that Mycen left of his own accord to protect Princess Anthiese."
"I've heard that Mycen is living in hiding in Ram Village. Is the princess there, too?"
"No, I don't know where she is. But that's obvious, right? If we knew where she was, then there's no way Desaix wouldn't know too. She would have been killed long ago."
"Makes sense." Valbar nodded.
"I've also heard rumors that Grieth, king of the desert thieves, has discovered where Princess Anthiese is, and wants to use her as a puppet while he is the one truly in power over Zofia. It's a pretty big dream, but that's what the thieves are hoping for. If so, then she may already be in Grieth's clutches. Assuming that to be the case, it also means that it is becoming less and less likely that she could fall into Desaix's hands. While Grieth's kingdom of thieves is not formally recognized as its own nation, it does have a lot of power. Still, none of this information is known for certain. The case for the princess being alive is about as strong as the one for her being dead. If she is alive, then she's gotta be… hmm… around Celica's age, I'd imagine."
Genny, sitting next to Celica, found that last sudden detail to be very curious. 'If she is alive, then she's gotta be… hmm… around Celica's age, I'd imagine.' When Saber said it, she saw the color drain from Celica's face.
Now that Genny thought about it, not a single person at Novis Priory knew anything about the circumstances of Celica's birth. Even Nomah did not seem to know where she was from or who her parents were. Because lineage was not a relevant factor in religious study and training, no one at the priory had any interest in it. However, now that she had left the island and met people living normal lives, Genny had naturally become curious about Celica's background. But Celica was a Priestess, the highest class of all clergy units. To ask her any questions on the topic outright would be rude.
"If the princess really is alive, then she will bring peace back to Zofia." Valbar said. "The castle has been recaptured by the Knights of Zofia. If the princess returned now, then Zofia would be fully restored to its former glory. It would make our journey much easier."
"No, I wouldn't be so optimistic." Said a small voice that came from their table, but an old man behind Valbar, sipping slowly on his drink while listening in on their conversation. "The owner of this tavern and the locals are happy to be free from Desaix's rule. All of you seem to be as well, but that is utter foolishness."
The entire group turned their eyes and ears towards the old man, who, now knowing that they were paying attention to him, put down his cup and began to talk to none of them in particular.
"The castle has been freed from Desaix's grasp. That is all. Zofia Castle was built for defense. A man like him has no interest in it. Everyone knows he is building an even sturdier fortress in the western forest, but no one wants to acknowledge it. Not a soul here in Zofia wants to stare the truth in the face, but Zofia's time of ever enjoying peace again is long over. Next, Desaix will shift his strategy to spread even greater terror throughout Zofia, and obtain total control." The old man said. "It would have been better if the Deliverance did not act. Not ever being liberated will be much preferable to the terror Desaix is about to unleash. Not a single member of the royal family's bloodline is in the castle. The idea that Princess Anthiese is alive is a dream within a dream. The Deliverance is nothing more than a shadow of what the Knights of Zofia was. The argument is stronger than ever that Desaix is the royal family now. Everything is still under his control, yet Zofia is celebrating without a care in the world."
Someone suddenly stood up. It was Celica. She came up to the old man's table, and asked as she refilled his cup, "Can you tell us who recaptured the castle, sir?" Celica had a feeling she knew exactly who it was. The wheels of fate were turning, and the sound was ringing in her ears.
Tumblr media
The old man smiled down at his refilled cup, then looked up at Celica and said, "It was Alm. Mycen's grandson."
Alm. That name felt nostalgic, and even moreso, beloved in her heart.
'I see, so Sir Mycen raised Alm as his grandson.' She thought. She knew Mycen very well, too.
Celica next realized that Alm had chosen to walk down the path of war. She felt a large lump of ominous premonition form in her chest, and it made her heart heavy. She did not know why, but it kept growing and growing inside of her, and she couldn't make it stop. It terrified her.
The premonition told her, 'He can't. He can't walk down the path of war. It will only lead to tragedy.'
She knew no details, only that the inevitable tragedy was the cause of the growing premonition in her heart.
"We will go to Zofia Castle." Celica said, flipped back her long red hair, and walked out of the tavern, the sounds of her footsteps echoing loudly across the floor. Her allies all followed after her immediately, abandoning their drinks, regardless of how much was left.
Note
When Claude dropped dead, the noise that led him to them wouldn't end. The baby still sobbed. He had left it on the floor by the broken throne.
Throné had gone to pick it up, but found she was no good with kids.
"Here, let me," Osvald whispered as he took it.
He held it so gently, stroking its cheek and shushing it. It fell silent in no time and he just managed to look up in time to see Throné remove her collar. She wept with relief.
"Let's go back to New Delsta, we all need to rest," Temenos said, "Osvald? Are you listening?"
"Huh? Yes, right. Let's go," he said, but he was still focused on the child in his arms.
How old was it? What was it's name? Gender? Who would take care of it?
Well, two questions were answered when he noticed embroidery on the hem of the blanket it was wrapped in.
"Judith" it said.
When they returned to New Delsta, he couldn't even celebrate Throné's freedom with the rest of the group. He found himself hurrying around the city, searching for everything one needed to care for a baby.
By the time he was done, the sun had set. He joined the others in the tavern, carefully sitting while making sure not to wake Judith.
"What are you gonna do with her?" Castti asked.
"You could send her to an orphanage, or some of the nuns in Flamechurch could take care of her," Temenos suggested.
"I... I don't think I want to do that. Orphanages aren't ideal for children and I'm not busy with anything else at the moment..." Osvald said.
"What about Elena?" Castti asked.
"She'd be thrilled to have a younger sister."
As they ate and Osvald had more time to think about it, he thought back to his own childhood. He never particularly liked his parents. What frustrated him the most, was how they distanced themselves from the rest of their family. He hardly saw his grandparents and scarcely knew he had cousins until one died. It was all so confusing growing up knowing so little of his family's past...
"Would you want to be a part of Judith's life, Throné?" he asked.
She hardly thought for a moment before saying, "Yes, of course."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, she's my sister! Why would I ever say no!?"
- Five years later -
Throné had been walking on air all week. After a particularly busy few days of train repairs and negotiating with obnoxious businessmen, she finally got a two week vacation. Well, Partitio practically had to kick her out of the factory. No one had ever expected her to like engineering when they first met, but she found all the screwing and tinkering was shockingly similar to lockpicking, only more fun because it was something she could be proud of, rather than stealing from random passerby.
She had a bright smile on her face as she walk from the newly built Sai trainstation to Osvald's home at the outskirts of the city. She had seen Temenos on her way from the station, but they managed to exchange only a few words.
"Woman going into labor two streets down, tell Osvald Castti and I will be late!" was all Temenos said before running off with his arms full of various pain numbing medicines Castti had at home.
She yelled "Goodluck!" at him before snickering to herself about how strange that interaction must have been to anyone nearby. In no time had she reached her home, and she hardly knocked on the door once before it swung open and a little girl ran into her arms.
"Nene's home! Nene's home!" Judith cheered as Throné picked her up.
She spun around and laughed with her sister as they both got dizzy.
"Oh! I gotta tell the others!" Judith said as she ran back inside.
Throné followed her and was greeted by Elena and Osvald.
Elena would have run to hug her as well, but her hands were dirtied with cooking oil and tomato sauce as she was preparing tapas. Osvald had been in the middle of teaching Judith math, but gave up and started putting away the textbooks the second she ran to greet Throné.
Elena, Judith, Throné and Osvald all talked and talked as they set the table for lunch.
"I learned how to do sub-trashon!" Judith boasted.
"Sub-trac-tion," Osvald corrected her, "But yes, she did. She's an incredibly fast learner."
"She has an excellent teacher," Throné laughed, setting plates down.
They all sat at the table and debated whether they should wait for their beloved healers to return.
"But the food will get cold!" Elena pouted.
"And Temenos said to expect them to be late. They won't mind," Throné added.
"Alright then," Osvald said, and he began serving them all.
Just before they started eating, though, the door swung open once more. Castti and Temenos entered. Both looked exhausted, but they were there.
"Sorry we're late," Castti sighed and sat.
"I really, really hope you washed your hands," Throné laughed.
"Bathed already," she smiled, "I'm taking a nap after this though."
As they talked and ate, Throné looked out at the group. Only one was related by blood, but she would walk to the ends of the earth for each and every one of them. They were family after all.
WAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!
