OH HO HO!! YES Y E S YESSSS!!! Sorry I haven't been active, mental health and all, but I'm doing somewhat better and this is one of the first I'm working on to get a good bit of stuff outta my drafts. This isn't all that dark, but I'm still giving a warning. Also(to anyone that actually reads these) this started stalkerish and developed into yandere territory. Now, this is a somewhat unlikely situation. Yet, somehow, it still happened. So how did this even start, why is Yumeko following you home, why does she get all antsy when she cant be around you?

So many questions, so few answers. The only way to truly get Yumekos attention is to stand out. Not in a way she has already seen before, so there are few ways to do that.

You could have beaten her in a gamble, the higher the stakes the more interested she is. You could have possibly been a kind, and genuinely good person. People like that aren't seen as much at Hyakkaou, so it be someone she is very much interested in. Maybe you're a masochist and you lost to Yumeko, seeing you happy to lose would definitely turn her on and interest her...as long as you're not creepy like Midari.

Anyway, despite whatever peaked her interest about you...yeah you're hers now. So have fun. Yumeko is the last person you'd want to defy, I mean...have you met the girl? At first she isn't obvious about her recognition of you. No, she watches you, she even has others watch you for her. You, wether you're oblivious or not, will still notice odd behavior from those around you.

Maybe some of those ruder to you are nicer, maybe vice versa. It doesn't matter, you're going to realise at some point you're being tailed. When you do, that's when the icy hot hell that is Yumeko Jabami makes me debute to you. Or well second debute.

Before you learn all about her "nefarious" plans and she's still watching you creepily. She goes after you, in more ways than one. She watches you leave ethe bathroom, and go in. Yumeko just wants to make sure you're not being privately bullied...that's all.

She also follows you home, maybe she'll buy(just a reminder Yumeko is rich as hell) a car. One that looks like an everyday car, or an exact copy of one that lives near your house. You wouldn't suspect seeing your neighbors car right behind you...right?

Yumeko is fucking crazy, let's put that out there. I've more than likely said it once, but I'll say it again if needed. She. is. crazy. So after she's is caught stalking you, she wont lie. She'll tell you straight up, she's in love, well her idea of love. Her fucked up, disgusting idea of love. Yumeko is very blunt, she explains her intentions and what she wants. At least what she things she wants.

Whether you choose to date her or not essentially decides the outcome of your little interaction. Saying yes, immediately fucks you over, she no longer has to hide her stalker tendencies. Saying no, well she'll pretend she didn't hear it and the next day at school Yumeko announces your relationship.

She's also very touchy(yes, she's a pervert too) she likes putting her hand up your skirt and will smile. Yumeko likes to hig you from behind, why? Because that means she can touch your tits. Big or small, nonexistent or very obviously existant. She loves your chest, she love you, and therefore any and every part of you.

She likes to show you off, by that I mean she'll kiss and love on you while she's gambling. You just look so cute to her, shaking and looking away in embarrassment.

I feel like Yumeko as a stalker is giving her yandere tendencies, but toned down. She goes from stalker to the well known term: crazy girlfriend. She needs you round all the time, she cant gamble without you. She can't walk home without you, she hates leaving you.

You're her lucky charm, you make things better. She can talk about her sister, how she really feels. She doesn't always need to smile and act dopey. She can be anything without worry...and if you dislike something she cant just tie you up and have you miss a few school days...

Now, Yumeko is a less than savory person when you think about it. While she does her best to love you in every way she knows. It takes her a while, especially if you said no to dating her at first. She really cant help herself, she wants to show you things...but how can she trust you?

I'd say it takes months before she finally tells you everything, well everything that you didn't know. She trusts you to tell you hoe she really feels, hoe her fucked up mind decided you were her chosen protector.

Even if she was stalking you a lot to begin with. It was all in good faith, I mean look now. You two are inseparable, not that she let's you leave her, but that doesn't matter.

In her eyes, you're perfect, no matter the horrible things she's done. No matter how much she touches you in odd and somewhat disturbing ways. You don't leave, she'd die if you did. Yumeko Jabami, current heiress to the Jabami clan.

She has put so much effort into you, into helping you gamble, helping you with debt, helping you with class work. She cant leave you...and if she has to strike a deal for a student life plan. All to keep your with her. She will.

Your analyzes are really helpful and so valuable to the community. It was from your latest analysis of Reiji that I got motivated to research the boys more thoroughly and became very knowledgeable about behavioral issues. But as I replayed each HDB and MB route, I suddenly realized something.

Each of the brothers is very different, but they all seem to share a lot in common when it comes to punishment and obedience. Despite being raised by such different types of mothers, many of the brothers use one common control tactic - a "reward" for obedience or punishment for disobedience. Of course, some of them can take the reward as such, while others have it quite twisted. And it seems that this practice really works on Yui, because this way they train her to obey without a second thought so that she can to avoid the pain, but I got the impression that they didn't see it that way. For most of the development of Yui's "relationship" with one of the boys, this goes to an extreme and eventually she starts to lose the line between pain and pleasure and things get complicated. But I wonder if they are doing this to make her a masochist? As far as I am informed, a man cannot suddenly become a masochist, but is born with such a tendency, and over time, so to speak, learns to awaken it. Does this mean that Yui is actually really a masochist, and it's not just words when brothers say so?

Of course I know your focus is mainly Reiji and I have no idea if you've played any of the other routes to you know. Also, Reiji isn't as mentally screwed up as Cordelia's sons and he acts very carefully and thinks his actions out more than his brothers. But since you also mentioned this reward and punishment tactic, I would be very happy if you could give me your opinion on the subject.

This is a very astute observation! You are right with each brother engaging in Operant Conditioning (or punishment and reward) even though they each have different mothers; I don't think this is coincidental. From what we see of their mothers, it can be implied that the behaviour is learned - we predominantly see this with Cordelia and her general behaviour, but we also see this with Beatrix and Shuu (I would mention Christa but I feel I lack a thorough understanding of her character). From each of the brothers, to the mothers and by extension even the Mukamis, they all seem to exhibit this form of behaviour; the only way for this to occur [beyond coincidence] is for there to be an interlinking variable. In this case, our good friend Karlheinz - CEO of Beans, Means, Heinz.

From what we learn from Ayato's and Laito's routes, it's implied that Cordelia met Karheinz when she was young - in other words, he preyed on her for her blood, and for her heritage. This can imply that Cordelia may have, in fact, been groomed (for Karl's plan) - since it can be implied that he too engages in the punishment and reward system. This is mainly theoretical, however, from Cordelia's extensive collection of fine jewellery - that, (if I'm right) come from Karlheinz (and can even be implied to be 'love bombing'). We know that Cordelia becomes self-destructive and abusive when she isn't with Karl, possibly implying that his time and gifts act as the "reward" - whereas him marrying Beatrix, Christa and generally discarding Cordeila acts as the "punishment". Cordelia possibly learned her behaviour from Karl and imprinted it onto her children - a sort of "cause and effect" if you will - whereas I've implied Beatrix to suffer from some form of generational trauma; though Karl may have also [possibly] used Operant Conditioning on Beatrix, and Christa, too.

And yes, you're right - some brothers are generous with the rewards and do something that actively makes Yui happy, such as Ayato, Azusa and Kou. However, brothers such as Laito, Kanato and Reiji present a more twisted version of 'reward' - such as Laito forcing himself on Yui [in basically every chapter let's be real] or Kanato wanting to turn Yui into a wax corpse - but that's heavily due to their response to their trauma.

You're also right about Yui being easily 'trained' via Operant Conditioning. However, I think this is a precaution - a means to demonstrate complete and utter control - and like I've mentioned with Reiji, he spares no time in enforcing that; meaning that he's likely done this hundreds of times before (and most likely so have the others). In other words, the Operant Conditioning may just be a standard routine among the brothers. I do like your interpretation that they're doing this so that Yui can avoid their punishments - it definitely puts them in a more sentimental light (and I appreciate that you've read it like this). For characters like Subaru, Shuu, Ayato (and even Kanato) I can definitely see this interpretation - as punishing Yui is more trouble than it's worth; they want her to behave and do exactly as they want.

However, for characters like Reiji and Laito, they particularly enjoy pushing Yui around, they enjoy making her slip up so they can punish her. I see this as more of a demonstration of power and control - as well as a boost to their ego. Reiji and Laito are two characters that lacked control and authority in their childhood - implying that their actions towards Yui are possibly a way to achieve that. For characters such as these, I don't belive that they want Yui to avoid pain in the beginning. Throughout the mid-way section and the end of their respective routes, they don't delight in Yui's pain - it's only in the beginning, and I think this is due to their trauma-response. In other words, the abused become the abuser - they delight in Yui's pain because she feels a physical manifestation of their mental/emotional pain. It's sadism at its most ironic.

So yes, I agree with you on that front - I don't think they see Yui's 'training' in a pet-like way - instead I believe it's a fail-safe. It's a way for each brother to be in complete control, while having the security that Yui can't escape, act out or leave them. At the end of the day, each brother values and desires affection and acceptance - using this form of control over Yui guarantees that. It's a twisted way for them to garner the emotional security they need.

However, I don't believe that any of the brothers use Operant Conditioning to actively or purposefully make Yui a masochist. From what I know, researched and from my own experiences, no one is born a sadist or a masochist. Instead, I believe it to be a learned response. Sadism and masochism are responses to pain - I don't believe people are intrinsically born to enjoy pain - it's called 'pain' for a reason. However, and this is drawn upon my own experiences, I believe that sadism and masochism arise from the exposure to suffering.

If you're exposed to constant and unyielding pain, there's only a small selection of responses to choose from. You can't run from it, you can't hide from it - fighting it only makes it worse - therefore, the only way to deal with the relenting pain is to accept it, tolerate it...enjoy it. I touch on this in my MB analysis regarding Azusa and Yui (and how Azusa is a "dark parallel" to Yui regarding this exact topic). Since the female brain doesn't full mature until mid-twenties, I can afford to take some liberties regarding Yui.

When you're exposed to heavy abuse and physical abuse as a child, your brain does funny things. Now, I'm only talking from my own experiences - so any other views on this are greatly appreciated. But like I said, when you're exposed to pain at a young age, your brain tries to rationalise it and find an effective response. If it's constant, unyielding and inescapable, you can either fight it - and in some cases, make it worse - or you can accept it. When you're a child, or a young adult, you're constantly told the message that you should enjoy life; that you have nothing to sad about or anything worth crying over. Notice how I used the word: enjoy. This is intentional because this is where the brain begins to warp. So, instead of crying about the pain, you instead learn to see the positives - that whoever's inflicting the pain is giving you 'special treatment' for example. This is what we see with Azusa and his attachment to Justin.

People inflict pain because they want to see you suffer; from how my brain responded to that, the only way to combat that is to enjoy it. Once the pain's over - or it's finally stopped for good - that sentiment doesn't go away; instead it finds something to latch onto. Think of your brain as one big circuit board, and the masochism as a cord. Once the pain stops for an extensive period, that cord becomes unplugged - and another cord is plugged in its place; the circuit board fills up. The masochism is still there, the cord hasn't disappeared; it's dangling, and it needs something to latch onto. Once you grow older, your brain develops more plugs, more sockets for different cords and branches that need to be filled in - one of those plugs is sexuality. Now obviously, sadism and masochism aren't intrinsically sexual, they are both sexual and non-sexual: the sexual being self-explanatory and the non-sexual being oriented around amusement - again, it's irony being displayed in its most painful form. But I digress, once sexuality opens itself up to the brain - like with Yui - the unplugged cord of masochism has a socket to wire itself into.

The point I'm getting at is that I believe masochism - and Yui's masochism - to be a trauma-response. It acts as a way for her to 'deal' with the pain - however, since her brain is underdeveloped, her mentality surrounding it warps and distorts. The line between pain and pleasure does become blurred. In other words, it can be implied that Yui's masochism (and Azusa's) are coping mechanisms that have become warped and distorted over time.

Note that Yui never starts the game(s) as a masochist. If anything, she hates the pain. Yet by the end of the game, she is a masochist. She's masochistic due to the severe mental stress she's under and the vile abuse she endures - and her brain can't revert back due to the extent of the distortion. Routes such as Reiji's and Laito's hinge on Yui's mentality unravelling; becoming fragile and mouldable - this is how the masochism is able to infiltrate, it's a coping mechanism (but instead of being able to abandon it, it's latched onto another part of her brain, her sexuality).

Furthermore, when the brothers refer to Yui as a masochist, it could be implied to be an exaggeration, a way to riddle Yui's mind with stress, denial and self-doubt. In other words, it could be implied that they're gaslighting her to sow doubt and make her more susceptible to their mental manipulation. Additionally, it could be implied that they're enforcing masochism onto Yui so that they can enact their own sadism onto her without any complications - to make her a 'willing victim' if you will. In essence, the brothers could call Yui a masochist in order to imprint their own views and needs onto her - sadism and masochism is the giving and receiving of pain. It can be implied that the brothers' sadistic tendencies act as an outlet for their trauma; they need a recipient to take the pain they're giving - that being Yui. However, the brothers' sadism and Yui's masochism doesn't match up.

The brothers begin their routes revelling in Yui's pain, yet they don't end their routes with the same sentiment. Yui, however, starts the routes trying to escape the pain, only to yield to it - and by the end of the route, revel in it. And I'm not just strictly talking about her own pain either. In Reiji's HDB manservant ending, we see Yui delight in the pain and subservience of others. She gains control over Reiji, in which she belittles and emasculates him, all while playing the role of 'Cordelia' - and in Kanato's HDB manservant ending, we see Yui brutally (and sadistically) murders the other brothers, revelling in the affection she believes she'll get because of it. In essence, sadism and masochism are learned responses or coping-mechanisms (gone wrong), but that's just my opinion.

You're also right, Reiji isn't as screwed up as the triplets, and he does think out his every move - painstakingly so. The only other brother I'd say who comes close is Laito,since they're both highly manipulative and predominately enforce Operant Conditioning - with Reiji’s focus being on control and Laito's being on sex. When Yui behaves, they each reward her in non-material ways - for Laito, it's sex or physical affection, and for Reiji, it's remedies when Yui's sick, her favourite meals etc. What they both 'reward' Yui with is their vulnerability. In other words, manipulative characters like Reiji, Laito, Ruki and Carla enforce Operative Conditioning to gain the comfort of control; only once that boundary is established do they 'mellow'. In other words, the need for punishment and reward is a basis wherein the brothers can build a relationship that they can thrive in.

Greetings and salutations, hope I don’t bother you to much. May I please have a romantic yandere matchup for hellsing and fnf?

I use they/it pronouns and I’m pansexual. My Myers Briggs type is INFJ and Enneagram type is 4. My star sign is Taurus, moon sign is Gemini.

Im about 4’11..not to happy about it. I’m rather introverted, and can be considered not a people person. I find life a little nihilistic. I’m into dressing in all black and taking a liking to gruesome and morbid things like slashers, Tim Burton, death games, true crime documentaries, poetry, necromancy and anatomy. I typically consider myself a Gorehound. I also like to visit abandoned hospitals and houses just for fun, along with playing quite a few escape rooms. I just have a genuine comfort in the uncomfortable.

I get a lot of monikers from friends and family like \"discount vomitboyx\", \"doomer boy kinnie\", and \"Remake of Daria\" before. I’ve come to the conclusion I just scare people off. In reality, I’m intimidated by everyone around me and find it hard to start conversing, which may or may not come off as rude to people.

When I finally become comfortable with someone I start to become really sarcastic and joke around with them with witty banter. Most of my humor comes off really insulting, but I’ll apologize and say it’s a joke if it becomes a problem. Even though I do have a hard time understanding physical social cues.

Lots of people don’t like me or stay away from me because of my rude behavior. I’m not good with overly sensitive or overly annoying people at all because of that, and I can’t stand kids. Idiocy can get on my nerves too sometimes. I’m a huge animal person though. I have my moments where I can get really feisty, or very quiet and closed off. I’ve been told I’m also a laidback person.

I’m the type of person that has lots of opinions on things but I keep them to myself and bottle them up. If pushed far enough I’ll become unforgiving, and aggressive. Especially with the types mentioned above.

I find the most comfort in just being in my room drawing, reading and or listening to music ( Motionless in White, Deftones, System of a Down, Slipknot, Rob Zombie,,, sometimes Will Wood, The Front Bottoms, Jazmin Bean or Mother Mother, etc. ), or even occasionally playing video games or reading and talking about Greek mythology or some random documentary I read. I also do acting in my spare time, which I find really fun. My interests tend to be very restricted, and I shut down easily getting into new things.

I’m a plushie maniac and when I fall asleep you can always see me cuddled up to one of them. I find it because I’m really touch starved. I’m guilty of being very submissive and maybe even masochistic- and a bit of a pyromaniac. I dissociate or daydream a lot, so you can often catch me starring.

I suffer from a handful off mental and physical syndromes like autism, GERD, arthritis, asthma, depression and anxiety. These have all been diagnosed professionally, and I’m definitely not trying to make myself \"quirky\". I have stims where I bite the inside of my cheek, pull my hair, crack or pop my bones, pick at scabs, fidget with my fingers or toy and bounce my leg. I even hiss or squeal when I’m upset, I’ve punched in a wall before by accident. I’ve also been developing a eating disorder. You don’t need to rocmantasize this stuff ofc, but I think it’s good to know so the person can tolerate me.

Yandere!Monster

Monster is, by all means, an Obsessive and Possessive Yandere.

When he first met you, it was through a Rap Battle against BF during Week 5, where you had to get another set of art supplies and luckily, most customers were watching the Battle go down and you didn’t need to interact with that many people.

When the Battle was done and over with, he went his merry way to get a different victim to munch on and that’s when Monster met you right when you were leaving the exit doors.

He just…stared at you for an awkwardly long time before actually leaving you alone. After that, Monster started to stalk you and kinda makes it obvious- Absolutely loves it that your an introvert because he doesn’t have to hurt you (yet) emotionally just to know your place.

Silently watches you sleep for the time being until he just can’t take it anymore and straight up kidnaps you in the middle of the night, bringing you to the Spooky House with the spooky kids. Monster announced that you were a “new friend for life” for the children…that is assuming that you enjoyed hanging around children.

Before kidnapping you, Monster grew more and more obsessed with you the more he realized you were into pretty bloody and sensitive topics. Stealing your drawings to hang around the Spooky House for the two kids to see and enjoy, though more on the tamer side so he wouldn’t traumatize them. However, knowing Skid and Pump are gullible and curious, they asked you plentiful of questions.

They more they asked, the more you got uncomfortable. Monster, being the monster he was, caught onto this subtle behavior of yours and decided it was better off that the kids were removed murdered from the picture between the of you.

At that point, Monster had lost any and all compassion for the boys, only forming affectionate emotions for you, his sweet darling.

Monster would, expectedly, admit to murdering the children and spreading the unfortunate news to everyone and anyone who were related to them.

Lila would immediately despise him and shun him out of her life after her worst fears came to light when her son went missing for days on end. Monster could honestly care less about the purple woman, all he cares about is you and you only.

I feel like He doesn’t particularly understand modern technology, but He would definitely watch horror films and true crime documentaries with you, only to find himself staring at you long and hard. Who knows if this is puppy love or animalistic lust taking over him, but all he knows is that he wants to be with you and protect you.

Monster convinced himself that the two of you were made for each other. He’ll always say something along the lines of, “You belong to me”, “I belong to you”, “I’m yours,” and “You’re mine.”

As stated before, He would let you sit on his lap. I feel like Monster would give tons of physical affection and incredibly attentive to your wants, needs, likes, and dislikes.

Like, if you want cuddles or a hug, he’ll squeeze you close and purr in satisfaction. Monster is a really warm creature, so no worries about being cold.

I doubt Monster needs sleep to survive and he’ll just lay down with you protectively, almost wanting to suffocate you to death because of his brutal nature, but he’ll probably hesitate on doing so.

Whenever you need to go outside by whatever means necessary, you can bet your ass Monster is close behind to keep anyone away from you. Doesn’t care if it’s a friend or a family member, he’s going to literally growl at them like a feral dog, showing no fear on who you belong with.

If you’re taking too long with something, Monster won’t hesitate to pick you up and carry you home, he gets a little fearful of what could happen to you. Thankfully, you enjoy music and would sing for you, not caring if you’re into creepy things at that one.

However, not all things are full of sunshine and rainbows. At first, it was just getting rid of everyone he personally knows about, but for you on the other hand, Monster’s demonic urges finally surfaces after keeping them at bay for who knows how long.

He thought he wouldn’t worry about your own family and friends, only letting you text them and whatnot without actually seeing them face to face, but the more attention you didn’t give to him, the more he wanted to kill you for it.

Monster would immediately start to break any and all devices capable of communication and throw them out, ignoring your requests as to stop. He’ll only interpret you talking with others as a way to escape and pull you away by any means possible.

He’ll threaten you by detailing how he’s going to devouring you and would most definitely take the height advantage (I feel like Monster 6-7 feet).

“Obey the rules, or I’ll slowly tear you apart organ from organ and eat your insides while you’re still alive.”

Monster won’t directly kill you, but the most he’ll inflict are bite marks, scratches, and hovering his mouth wide open above your head as his slobber and blood drip onto you.

If you do break the rules, whether by accident or on purpose, Monster would kidnap whatever living thing that you have an emotional bong with and devour it right in front of you; May it be a close friend, a sibling/parent, or even a pet.

He absolutely adores how you react, but alas, you’ll learn how to love him back. He’s incredibly patient anyways when not prompted to punish you.

Though, when other people look at you the wrong way, flirt with you, or cat call you, Monster is more than willing to take their head and put it on a silver platter for your birthday present. Speaking of presents, Monster brings you not so pleasant gifts on the Holidays, especially on the “anniversary” of your kidnapping.

Just to get it out of the way, He entirely forgets about Boyfriend and Girlfriend, shifting his entire attention to you and you only.

As said before, Monster gifts you with pretty…nasty things. So it’s best to be appreciative instead of nudging it away in disgust, he’ll reward you with whatever you want (besides anyone or anything who could steal you away from him).

Monster is the type who’ll emotionally shun you out until you yourself apologize. Worst case scenario is that he’ll blame absolutely everything on you, even if said faults rightfully belong to him and act as if he’s the victim.

By the time you’re starting to be more affectionate and loyal to him, Monster is beyond ecstatic. He’s much less worried about you talking to any other living beings, just him to keep you company and it’s gnawing you from the inside out, so why fight it?

Monster gifts you in fresh animal skulls and human heads and possibly plushies if you’re extra careful and acting good romantic playing like a cat with a dead rat to their owner, not that he wants to see you cower any more of course he still does, he’s Monster, but because it’s sort of his schtick and wants to see you smile in gratification.

Uses your intimidating, opinionated, and aggressive demeanor against potential human contact just to scare them off only for you to shut him off as a result. But of course, Monster somehow comforts you in some way possible, implementing the seed of co-depending on him for whatever need you have.

Anyways, all you need is each other and depend on one another. Monster is all you need in your life, right?

!BONUS CHARACTERS!

Yandere!Black Hat

Black Hat, in short, is a Manipulative, Sadistic, Possessive, Mildly Delusional, and Clingy Yandere.

As shown consistently in ‘Villainous’, He treats his peers with no remorse if he hears about any failures or accidents. Or just in general.

For you, at first, B.H. Initially saw you as a new plaything to toy with, not caring if you’re aligned with good nor evil.

But after awhile of watching stalking you through Dr. Flug’s robots and televisions, Black Hat soon became quite possessive of you and barked an order to Dementia and Flug to kidnap you with the claim of you being a “new employee”, whether you or them like it or not. He didn’t see you as an accident nor a failure, but as to your conditions, that is going to be a problem, but that’s for another story.

By then, The demon would set aside anything else in his schedule and remove murder any…inconveniences in your life. Bullies, Harassers, Offenders, whatever person that treated you like crap would be gone in the next day, so you can depend on him on anyone without giving you stress.

At that moment, Black Hat wondered as to why he was feeling this way to a measly human such as yourself. Though, the more he pondered, the more frustrating it became, so he only waved it off as his loneliness getting to his head. Working under The Devil has its downsides, until he eventually loses his own dignity because of his sick obsession with you.

Though, the very thought of entering a relationship with you filled him with both shame and ecstasy, It feels wrong to be in love with you, but feels so damn good. He wanted to love you, and you love him back.

Once you’re at the Black Hat Manor itself, Black Hat is already swooning over you, literally and figuratively. He’s 6 feet and 66 inches tall in canon, whereas you are only 4 foot and 11 inches tall.

He already knows of your mental illnesses through Dr. Flug, so Black Hat takes it slow and steady to establish a solid romantic relationship, knowing your suspicions about why the sudden change of heart. He’ll only say that he sees potential in you as an asset and ally to the Organization, despite it. And yes, he forces Dr. Flug to “cure” you of said conditions.

Black Hat certainly does have a soft spot for you, he treats you with significantly better respect than everyone else around him and yet in the most sadistic way possible, if that makes sense at all.

Dementia, of course, is envious of you. She was insane before you came into the picture and now she’s obsessed with getting rid of you for good. Problem is, Black Hat usually snaps at her because of this and makes it obvious that the two of you are partners in crime, despite your short time with him. He’ll go as far as to torture and kill her if she lays a single finger on you

Of course, he keeps you in his room or anywhere he can visibly see you and let you do your little drawings or listen to music and totally taking advantage of your introversion. But, for whatever job needs his attention, he leaves you with with 5.0.5. Never leaves you alone with Dementia out of fear of her killing you or harming you in some way, he can’t bear that image in his head. If he ever catches wind of anyone, including his very own staff or fellow villains, calling you an offensive nickname or slur, like stated before, they’re good as dead or tremendously tortured beyond human capacity. Black Hat creates examples of these imbeciles to those who dare talk badly about the relationship the two of you have.

The moment you were comfortable with him and started making witty jokes, He couldn’t help but laugh. He doesn’t care if it’s towards him or anyone else, Black Hat would join in your sarcastic jokes and witty humor, this only makes him more and more glued to you.

Speaking of being glued, BH brings you everywhere he goes, especially where a Hero is present and about to die or any situation that trigger your anxiety. He simply calls these “dates” and deems your anxiety/squeals/inner lip bites as overreacting, gaslighting you into thinking your disorders and other mental illnesses are “flaws” and “things that are holding you back.”

However, in the aftermath of it all, Black Hat has very mixed feelings about it. On one hand, he loves these reactions from you and wants to continue this unhealthy behavior, but on the other, he doesn’t want to see you hurt.

The only solution he accepted was to bring you back to his room and keep you there for whatever time you needed to heal from said horror he made you witness. The cycle was this: Bring you on a violent date, watch you break down, and bring you back to the Manor.

Black Hat’s version of “respect” and “love” for you is corrupted, sick, and twisted, but wouldn’t ever hurt you physically. Additionally, he luckily lets you have a “mental break” from these so called dates if you’re particularly feeling empty inside or apathetic.

Black Hat puts you on a pretty high pedestal. Egotistical even. He protects you like a treasure like it’s his very last. Even though he steps a bit far into your boundaries, he’ll still be willing to buy you whatever you want and even let you give him kisses and sit in his lap. Black Hat has his sweet moments with you such as dinner dates and passionate kisses just to keep you around, but don’t you dare tell anyone that.

Your rudeness, intimidation, and unforgiving nature if pushed only makes him feral. Feral in terms of actually wanting to bite you until you bleed and bruise, lap up your blood, and kiss your bruises in forgiveness.

Yes, he’s into that shit.

But anyways.

He teaches you all about necromancy and where to kill someone effectively in the vitals when he’s not around to watch over you especially around Dementia.

I see that you’re strongly opinionated, and Black Hat takes that into deep consideration. Every major decision he makes, he needs you to second guess it. However, if it’s something he particularly doesn’t enjoy hearing, he’ll probably just ignore it or manipulates you into agreeing with him with the choice of executing decisions in the most violent ways possible.

Whenever you need assistance with your conditions, as said before, he forces Dr. Flug to help you by trying to “cure” you (or just giving you things that help ease away the pain such as medication), even if the scientist has a distaste for your presence because of obvious favoritism, but complies all the same for the sake of being alive. The same goes for 5.0.5 whenever you have trouble sleeping without plushies or anything soft and cuddly to hug onto as you sleep.

His interests pretty much matches up with your morbid ones. Course he won’t purposely pull you to a gore party or anything, but he’ll watch slasher movies and documentaries with you and take you on Halloween themed dates.

Please dress up together with him during the Fall Season (especially on October), Black Hat would vibe with you in black clothes and internally call you hot and sexy and beautiful and all these amazing things he won’t openly admit.

Black Hat only knows how to love you in a selfish and cruel way, somehow only towards you, which was his most greatest gift yet the greatest tragedy.

He is, arguably, the most loving of all in this matchup list. His love knows no bounds, which is why he could not love others, not that he wants to for that matter, but he could only love you. He could feed off of others admiration for him and act narcissistic because of it, but he cannot return it to them. He is a selfish man and generous at the same time. A paradigm of opposing forces existing in one being.

By the end of the day, Black Hat has you. And you have Black Hat. He needs you, you need him. Stick by his side, do as he says, and everything will turn out fine. His black heart will always open up to you, but he does dislike how you view life as meaningless and tries his hardest to change that.

Yandere!Striker

I believe Striker is a Manipulative and Overprotective Yandere.

Striker loves to tease you about your height just to get a negative reaction out of you, but the sight of you hating him is just a little too much for him to bear, so he shuts the teasing down completely. Plus, he isn’t that much taller than you by barely reaching 5 feet anyway.

The first time he met you is through his mission on assassinating Stolas. During those events, he couldn’t help but be intrigued at the fact that you were a human in hell.

Whenever he had the chance to, Striker would shoot an imp between the eyes who gave you the wrong look or about to harm you. He’d only internally scoff at the aftermath of the day when he was ridiculed by Stella, but went with it anyway.

The moment he saw you hiding in the same building during The Moon Festival, Striker had an yielding urge to protect you that it’s scary. He didn’t make a snarky remark about how short and weak you looked like he usually does with other imps and instead dragged you out with a flimsy but convincing disguise as one, your height making it better for your situation.

Striker basically manipulated you to stay with him since Hell is definitely no place for a human, of all things considered. He just assumed that you were all too curious about Hell and accidentally dropped in with some kind of voodoo magic or some shit and decided it was best to (especially) protect you from the citizens of the Wrath Ring.

With the hefty money from Stella, he bought a decent hideout for the both of you. Striker knows what Wrath is like, so of course he’s more than willing to train you up for anything from anyone when he wasn’t around you and that’s when he realized you a thing for fire.

At first, the sinner was worried about future scars, but once that thought came into mind, he thought it was kinda hot. Plus, when Striker realized you were a masochist, that made it even better. Just know he won’t let you have second or third degree burns so you won’t die on him, but if you do end up getting them, he’ll either bring you to the best doctor around if there even is one in hell and point a gun at their head if they screw up or heal you himself. Can’t let a pretty thing like you go to waste.

Striker manipulates you into the relationship. Like BH, Striker would hold you on a pedestal, but only out of molding you into his partner in crime. However, he isn’t shameful of any actions he takes with or against you.

Being the assassin he is, the sinner won’t hesitate to give a warning shot towards you if he sees you flirting/complimenting another person, ignoring any protests if they’re your friends or loved ones. He’ll make it obvious that you are supposed to flirt with him and nobody else. He’ll go as far as to kill whoever it was that you had emotional intimacy with and boast about it like he won an achievement.

Striker is the kind of Yandere to intimidate you into submission, so if you have any friends you care about then it’s best to keep your emotions in check. Of course, it’s strange for him to start rampaging against other not exactly innocent people of hell, so you’ll totally be surprised to realize that, amongst other characters as well.

He teaches you how to let loose on releasing any pent up anger you had from past trauma or anything that made you aggressive, if any at all. Hell, Striker would purposely make you pissed off just to get a lick of your kind of craziness and this is only because he wants you to prove your just as Wrathful as an Overlord and so much more.

Prideful just as his Wrathfulness, I’d must say. But anyways…

Striker can and will send you out onto the field with his assassinations, considering you as his “Right Hand.”

Other than going out onto the field with him, Striker is surprisingly soft with you. He won’t push you beyond your limitations on the field too much as hypocritical that is to say, but all other aspects for him is made up in stiff cuddles and kisses.

When alone, Striker would sing for you, especially if you’re having trouble falling asleep. Speaking of sleeping, he won’t judge you for having plushies. Shocked, yes, but never judgmental. He’s quick to get used to it though. Might steal one whenever he’s having trouble tuckering out because it reminds him of you.

Loves the whole thing you got going on with black clothes and horror schtick, he can totally vibe with it. However, Striker won’t match up with you in clothes, he’ll definitely watch horror flicks and true crime documentaries with you, as much as he doesn’t understand the most cliche things in said movies.

For your mental illnesses, as a whole, he’s a lot more hesitant to help you with them. Of course, he leans more on making you lash out from said mental illnesses, but that won’t stop him from also trying to help you.

Striker slowly eases up to the idea, comforting you in any way possible during those moments. Maybe even going as far as to force himself into these situations and make you depend on him.

Incredibly supportive boyfriend and gives you all the freedom you could ask for. Just Keep your emotions in check around family and friends, and you’ll see them live another day.

Tokoroplasmosis (to-ko-ro-plaz-MOE-sis) is a brain disease caused by the parasite Tokorogadokkoi-plasma gondii.

Just as Toxoplasmosis the cat parasite is common throughout the world's population, Tokoroplasmosis is common amongst Kaiji fans, with an estimated number of more than 60%.

Yes, it helps. In my experience, most Ichijou fans are 'cat people'. The groundwork is already paved. Ichijou looks and acts like a cat, his hair intakes resemble cat's ears, his large twinkling eyes are like those of a cat, he has catlike movements and gestures. He calls Kaiji a dog multiple times (like many characters in the series), just like how cat characters in cartoons hate dogs and act snobby towards them. If they're fighting like cats and dogs, it must mean that Ichijou is a cat; inherently attractive to the toxo-infected.

Is Tokoroplasmosis linked to mental instability?

In reality, Toxoplasmosis the cat parasite disease, is linked to development of various mental illnesses such as schizophrenia- this is no laughing matter. You can rest assured that "Tokoroplasmosis" is only linked to mild eccentricity and perversion.

I made a slight mistake in the sentence(・_・;) The correct sentence is "the true inner childlike personality". (Or did that come across already?) Can I speak my true core thoughts? I just think that he can't possibly understand and accept her love that easily. I think it's kind of just a fantasy. On the other hand, I think that he who can be kind is already something else entirely, and that the people who love him do not love the person I know, but someone else. (I'm just saying.) I don't have a history of being abandoned by my parents, but that shackle is not something that can be easily clicked off by some girl who is someone else giving me love. It is a problem that he should spend his life to tackle, usually. And, if I limit myself to MB alone, I don't feel any love for her as if she were the Virgin Mary. Rather, she is not very understanding of his will. Is it because I am an insidious thinker? Unfortunately, the subsequent developments seem opportunistic. If true, "I will be betrayed again." the negative thought that "I will be betrayed again…" must always be somewhere in the back of my mind. Is it okay that DL himself is a fantasy? Also, he has a tendency to use violence when things don't go well, but it's a common theory that the lovers of such people will eventually run away and sue or leak. It's fine if you like that sort of thing (myself included), but we're just watching from the sidelines so there's no pain. Am I just thinking too realistically….

Well, this is just my opinion, that's all. Even if there are parts I don't accept, that doesn't mean I don't dislike him at all. But I often wonder what people who are different from me think about it. The sentence may be a little strange, but please understand.

Oh yes, I think I understand what you are trying to say. And honestly, I agree with everything you said completely.

People who suffered the way Ruki has should definitely resolve that trauma on their own. They shouldn’t wait for someone as patient and accepting as Yui to come and shoulder the burden for them. It’s the same of any real relationship, too. You don’t fall in love with someone because they make all your worries go away, or make you feel “whole.” You should fall in love with them because they bring out the best in you, and that means you should be in a good mental headspace for that to begin with. Obviously, none of these boys are ready for any kind of romantic relationship. If they believed in therapy, I would suggest them to seek help.

And it’s also true that people who resort to violence in any kind of relationship should be punished for what they’ve done, preferably in jail behind bars. Yes, you may be masochistic, but that doesn’t mean your lover should hurt you the way Ruki has harmed Yui. There are relationship dynamics where the lovers do consent to receiving pain, but even so, it’s usually in a very controlled environment and they have a safe word for it. If she says “stop,” then he stops. Or at least, that’s how it should be. No alway means no, but not in the DL franchise unfortunately.

I might joke around a lot about wishing Ruki could hurt me too but it’s all dark humor and I’m never serious about it. Of course I never want to be abducted, tortured, or kept in a dungeon for who knows how long.

But that’s precisely what it is. DL is a fantasy. To think realistically about it is always good, and we should always remind ourselves that it will always be nothing more than a fantasy, otherwise I’d be concerned for you if you had the same abusive relationship in real life.

And back on the subject of Ruki and his trauma, I do think he will always wonder if his lover will betray him. It’s a thought he can never completely rid himself of. His mother betrayed his father and himself, and I think anyone who experienced the orphanage, the homelessness, the starving on the streets until you can no longer stay conscious… They will definitely have deep-rooted trust issues that only years of therapy can assuage. I might romanticize him a lot on my blog, but I never forget at the end of the day, Ruki is a troubled soul who takes revenge way too far. He is blinded by his own rage, just like a child as you said before. Even if he is seen as one of the more strict snd mature boys, he definitely acts childish at times, so you are correct.

Greetings and salutations, hope I don’t bother you to much. May I please have a romantic matchup for camp camp? I notice you guys haven’t had one in awhile so just ignore and delete of you don’t feel like doing it, no pressure. 👍

I use they/it pronouns and I’m pansexual. My Myers Briggs type is INFJ and Enneagram type is 4. My star sign is Taurus, moon sign is Gemini.

Im about 4’11..not to happy about it. I’m rather introverted, and can be considered not a people person. I find life a little nihilistic. I’m into dressing in all black and taking a liking to gruesome and morbid things like slashers, analog horror, death games, true crime documentaries, poetry, necromancy and anatomy. I typically consider myself a “Gorehound”. I also like to visit abandoned hospitals and houses just for fun, along with playing quite a few escape rooms. I just have a genuine comfort in the uncomfortable.

I get a lot of monikers from friends and family like "discount vomitboyx", "doomer boy", and "Remake of Daria" before. I’ve come to the conclusion I just scare people off. In reality, I’m intimidated by everyone around me and find it hard to start conversing, which may or may not come off as rude to people.

I suffer from a handful off mental and physical syndromes like autism, GERD, arthritis, asthma, depression and anxiety. These have all been diagnosed professionally, and I’m definitely not trying to make myself "quirky". I have stims where I bite the inside of my cheek, pull my hair, crack or pop my bones, pick at scabs, fidget with my fingers or toy and bounce my leg. I even hiss or squeal when I’m upset. I’ve also been developing a eating disorder. You don’t need to rocmantasize this stuff ofc, but I think it’s good to know so the person can tolerate me.

howdy, :3 i'm really sorry it's taken so long to answer this, we had a lot of mental + physical health issues that came up on top of other things. hopefully by the time i'm answering this you're still at least a little into Camp Camp aha- (has no idea how long it's been)

anyway, onto the matchup. now, this may not be a surprise to you, but I think you'd work pretty well with Daniel.

he'd find your "gorehound" tendencies and "comfort in the discomfort" to be rather interesting, most people he meets tend to be the exact opposite. he'd be happy to accompany you on your visits to abandoned buildings, curious if anything interesting was to be found there or not. i also think he'd be interested in analog horrors and true crime, possibly a few games and slasher movies as well. though he feels like the type to be super critical of horror movies if they're even slightly inaccurate so if that tends to bother you, you might not want to watch movies with him.

unsurprisingly he likely doesn't find you very intimidating, he honestly just finds your whole deal fascinating. if you find yourself intimidated by him, he might try to back off a bit though but we all know how he is about personal space an all that. /lh he doesn't mind that you're not great at starting conversations, he loves to talk when he has the chance.

he'd enjoy the sarcasm and make it known if you've offended him at all, though i feel like that'd be rather hard to do but also...surprisingly easy at times? as a serial killer he's probably been called pretty much everything in the book, but i feel like there may be a few things that are sore spots such as his religion or blonde jokes. he's likely to be more understanding with you though, especially about the social cues- he's no good with those either.

i wouldn't say he's a very sensitive person and we all know how he is with kids, himself. he has times where he's a little less than smart about things, but overall i don't think it should be bad enough to bother you. i like to think he's rather neutral on animals though, but he might prefer cats to other things. your tendency to bottle up your opinions may bother him a bit though, so he may press for you to share them at times. -cough- i do believe he'd find it rather attractive if you're aggressive around him, so do with that information what you will. -cough-

he'd be pretty interested in seeing your drawings if you'd ever want to show him, he's never really had time to hone the skill himself so he finds other people's ability in it pretty neat. i don't think he'd know who any of the artists you listen to are, but he'd be willing to listen. (i really like a lot of them myself and i think he'd like Will Wood, Jazmine Bean, and Mother Mother as well as a few songs from the others. =w=) this man's never touched a video game in his life, but he'd be happy to watch you play or learn how to do so himself. i do think he'd enjoy reading at times when he allows himself the time, and i believe he'd enjoy listening to you talk about whatever you decide to talk about.

i believe he'd find your interest in plushies rather cute, tbh. he understands being touch starved, though he'd never say anything about it, so he wouldn't judge you for it. i don't think he'd care very much about you being a bit of a pyro, as long as you don't do it too close to anything he deems important. he doesn't mind the disassociation and staring at all since he tends to do the same himself.

i think he's got a lot going on himself, so he can at least somewhat handle being around your illnesses. (personally think he's got autism and anxiety, perhaps some repressed depression) obviously, he's got a thing about popping his own joints but i think he also has a tendency to bite apart his cheeks and pull at his hair in times of stress so he understands it a lot, though he might try to stop you if you're hurting yourself with it. as for the hissing and squealing, it may throw him off a bit at first but it wouldn't be something he's too put off by and he'd get used to it pretty quickly.

I have a 2HA question that may have been asked an answered a dozen times before. I'm getting a Dom/Sub energy from Mo Ran and CWN in the 2.0 timeline. I feel like Mo Ran doesn't want to act on it because of all his guilt as 0.5 and CWN can't communicate his desires because he lacks the right vocabulary for that conversation. Am I misreading the dynamic?

And I don't think you are wrong, Anon, or at least if you are, so am I!

It's crystal clear to me that Mo Ran has some dom tendencies but CWN has even stronger sub tendencies. Like Mo Ran 2.0 would be fine if CWN ever decides to boss him around in bed but there is no way CWN would ever like that.

And yes, Taxian Jun, who is in many ways, Mo Ran's id (especially in extras, after he's free of mind/heart/soul control) really gets off on the whole dom/sub dynamic - even more before he's freed (but once again, TXJ is always Mo Ran, even if 0.5 TXJ is Mo Ran warped, with all his worst impulses given reign and good impulses not allowed to manifest.)

And it's clear that CWN likes being controlled by his partner in bed - there is that one extra where MR 2.0 ties him up because he vaguely remembers CWN enjoying it when TXJ did it and CWN does his patented demurral but he does it too well and MR assumes he means it and CWN has to go through the mortification of explaining that he wanted it. (Just as there is a mention that in some ways CWN finds it easier on his dignity to sleep with TXJ because TXJ just goes to town but MR 2.0 keeps asking for permission and opinions and CWN finds this mortifying - and being CWN that embarrassment clearly also turns him on.)

Putting on my "let's psychoanalyze fictional characters" hat - CWN's tendency to want to cede control in bed (because he is a sub to me but not a masochist, if it makes sense. He does not get off on pain) makes so much sense to me - he is someone who is always in charge, always alone, always with responsibility, with nobody to rely on. It must be a relief to put that down at least in bed. But there is also the fact that CWN is uncomfortable with his sexuality - I don't mean because he's gay or because he's with his disciple (the latter bothered him and he got over it, the former was a non issue.) No, for CWN it all goes a lot further than that - due to his upbringing which tried to make him both perfect and nonhuman, he is hugely uncomfortable with indication of his not being perfect, having flaws and foibles, having tastes and preferences and desires. And it will always will be like that to some degree (though years in the world and with Mo Ran's unstinting adoration, will inevitably blunt the sharpest edges) because what we pick up in childhood sticks with us. So I think he could never be aggressive in bed or even to be explicit and in your face about what he wants. So it's a relief for him to have Mo Ran, where he can basically be "seduced" every time and sometimes even do a sort of a roleplay of forced seduction. CWN never comes across as a girl in everything but physical attributes (a problem in some other danmei imo) but his attitude reminds me a lot of attitude some women develop about sex and sexuality in conservative societies (source - grew up as a woman in one.)

And as to Mo Ran. Mo Ran likes being in charge in bed. He is a lot less devoted to it than CWN is to his role (as I said, it wouldn't be his preferred dynamic but he'd be fine with CWN bossing him in bed, as well as if CWN wanted to top) but yes, I think his natural preference is to be in charge in bed. I agree that he holds a strong leash on his instincts in bed as 2.0 because of his guilt over 0.5 timeline but it's there. Putting that hat on again, I wonder if it had to do with the fact that he had so little control over anything as a kid (and I wonder if TXJ is that control freak part distilled not just because he's violent impulses made manifest but because even if he doesn't realize TXJ has NO control over his life. His soul has been warped and he does not remember, he believes he loves and mourns someone who is his torturer and destroyer and towards whom his last free thought was terror, his memories have been rearranged and erased and his mind occasionally gets taken out for a rinsing and stirring like a bowl of oatmeal. Bed with CWN is probably the only place he has control and even that is illusory - he can only get CWN to comply with drugs and Hua Binan is peeking in the wings at TXJ and CWN's most private moments even though TXJ thinks he's arranged everything so that nobody would know who CWN is to him.)

I do think even the flower never existed and CWN and MR didn't have any issues and got together painlessly, CWN would still want to cede control in bed but also guilt-free Mo Ran would enjoy bossing him (and probably do it more than 2.0 because no baggage.)

CWN gets what he deserves with either Mo Ran 2.0 or extras TXJ btw - someone who bosses him in bed but adores him and pampers him and obeys him outside it. In a way it's that behavior outside the bed that allows CWN to feel comfortable and safe in turning control over in bed - he knows he's adored and safe (and it's the only way Mo Ran would feel guiltless about it also.) That dynamic reminds me a lot of extras Xie Bian and Fan Wushe from Wu Chang Jie btw.

A Case Study on Vanitas’ Character: On Vanitas’ Two Conditions

Since they’re animating the What is Love? episode next (episode 7), I couldn’t help but want to talk about that chapter. [spoilers for anime-only watchers!]

Vanitas has two conditions for Jeanne:

1) She mustn’t drink blood from anyone else but him.

I admit that like Jeanne, it’s easy for me to fall into the trap of thinking Vanitas is a better guy than he is because of certain biases. Let’s admit it, this part was plain blackmail, and yet for some reason, with what we know of Vanitas now, there are also different ways of seeing this scene.

Vanitas is ‘blackmailing’ Jeanne, but at the same time that blackmail is actually him also offering a solution to Jeanne’s problem. AND YET, HE DOES IT IN SUCH A WAY SO THAT JEANNE NEVER HAS TO FEEL LIKE SHE OWES HIM. More to the point, he does it in such a way to ensure that Jeanne continues hating him. In other words he, in his own twisted way, is doing a nice thing for Jeanne, while ensuring that she never likes him for it. Now I’m not saying it’s a purely altruistic thing, but I still think that Vanitas is drawn to Jeanne because she reminds him of himself back then. If so he knows precisely how to get her to receive help albeit through manipulative means.

It’s not a purely altruistic thing. He states it so himself, what he gets out of it is the ‘divine feeling’ Jeanne sucking his blood gives to him again purposefully painting himself as a pervert so that Jeanne wouldn’t like him for helping her. But if we are to believe some theories that it’s not actually as enjoyable as he himself paints it out to be (I digress, but I think he’s being honest here. He strikes me as having a bit of a masochistic streak in him) (I digress from my digression, but theory time, what’s his bases of comparison?? Who besides Luna and Jeanne have drunk from him??), then there’s another dimension to his condition of ‘you must drink blood, only from me’. If he’s just in this for the feeling it gives him, then why word the condition that way? He’s never stricken me as possessive of Jeanne despite his words of ‘I want to possess all of you’, and as he’s stated, he doesn’t want Jeanne to love him back. I think this is just another case of his ‘use me’ mindset rearing its head again. He’s said it to Count Orlock, and we know that it started since his time with Dr. Moreau. It is definitely, definitely, unhealthy, and I believe it’s also coupled with his slight suicidal tendencies. If worst comes to worst and Jeanne ends up going out of control and killing him, he seems not to care.

Going off tangent here, but another one of his contradictions is how ruthless he is at surviving and yet how careless he is with his life, especially when it comes to people caring for him. He’d rather be left in the snow than have Jeanne take care of him as repayment for him protecting her, or when he got angry at Noe for protecting him from Ruthven.

But at his core and as Luna stated, Vanitas is a kind child. It’s developed in an unhealthy way, but he’s quite self-sacrificial. It’s fine for Jeanne to use him so that Jeanne has a focus or outlet. At least when the craving for blood gets to be too much, Jeanne knows there’s someone she can drink from, which helps her so that she doesn’t lose control and lash out against Luca for example. And on Vanitas’ side, it seems like it’s fine for him to be put at risk so other people don’t have to be, and on Jeanne’s part too, it also helps her from further hating herself if she ends up hurting other people.

In other words, his condition is both a selfish and selfless one, yet he paints it to be blackmail. It’s not an entirely good thing for him to do, because there’s definitely power play involved, but it’s also not as scummy as it is initially presented out to be with what we now know of his past.

2) For Jeanne to call him by ‘name’.

There are so many things going on here that I just can’t help but ramble about it. Firstly, I’m really interested in how this’ll be translated in the anime. Did Vanitas say call me by ‘Vanitas’, or call me by ‘my name’? Because if it’s the latter, then couldn’t Vanitas also mean (although not fully consciously) that he wants someone to call him by his true name like Luna did before he inherited the name ‘Vanitas’? (And I will just die if in a future chapter, Jeanne and Noe do end up getting to call him by his original name).

Second, there are slight parallels and contrasts with this arrangement he has with Jeanne and with the one he had back then with Moreau. Obviously Moreau is trash and took full advantage of ‘No. 69′. He exercised all the power. In this case, Jeanne is hesitant about hurting Vanitas despite how aggravating he is towards her. She doesn’t want to drink his blood at all. Moreau was a human. Jeanne is a vampire, and despite physically being superior towards Vanitas she changes her demand into a plea or request for Vanitas to keep her secret. (And whelp that’s when she sealed her fate, because she apparently triggered Vanitas. Don’t worry though Jeanne, you’ll get your payback soon enough). Vanitas was completely without power before, so faced with a similar situation this time around, I think part of him let the power get to his head, causing him to partly take advantage of Jeanne (he’s a complete sadist AND a masochist). He has complete agency this time around. Sure he’s once again offering himself with the expectation of pain and at the risk of his life, and he’s also doing this for another person, like with Misha, but unlike with Dr. Moreau, the power is on his side this time around.

Going off tangent, that’s one thing that Vanitas and Jeanne have to work on. Balancing power and agency. I get where Vanitas is coming from, surrounded by vampires as he is, and with his past too, but he has to realize that caring about and loving someone isn’t a matter of power. You don’t lose when you love and care. You don’t surrender power. You don’t have to take away someone’s agency or exercise your own power for you to manage to do good things for the people you care about. He has to manage that balance - likewise with Jeanne, Noe, and Domi as well.

Going back. Since he has full agency in this case, it’s his decision to offer himself to Jeanne in this way, he doesn’t want to be dehumanized while doing so. He’s had enough trauma about that already. Despite how he words it, it’s actually a somewhat equivalent exchange between Vanitas and Jeanne. He offers her blood as a way for her to keep her sanity, but she can’t be removed from it, she has to look at him properly and consider him a person with full agency and choices, and not just as ‘that human’.

And looking at their faces - Jeanne’s is an incredulous one as if to say, ‘that’s it?’ It’s both an easy and difficult thing for her to do. Meanwhile, for Vanitas, I’d expected him to look goading, but he just looks patient and soft. At least in this instance, I don’t see it as him forcing Jeanne to do something she doesn’t want to do - just an unexpected moment of wanting to be known and treated as himself.

LISTEN HE IS FULL OF CONTRADICTIONS OK. We’re led to believe that all of his interactions with Jeanne until the moment he realized he fell in love with her was just him teasing her, but I believe he was already in the process of falling in love with her slowly. I’ll go so far as to say that he was the one who fell in love first, but he just interpreted it as his being ‘excited’ by her. In other words, the words he said (’I love you’) which we thought was a lie was actually the truth, albeit a truth he didn’t realize much later.

Why do I think so? It’s because he revealed certain moments of vulnerability or sincerity with her or about her without any of the teasing, as represented by the italicized dialogue. It’s the same case for when he said he didn’t want to trod on her foot with Noe, or when he happily grinned and he said forthright Jeanne was the side of her he liked best (or when he promised he’d kill her).

This is just an example of his contradiction. He never wanted or expected Jeanne to fall in love with him, and sure this could just be his wanting to push boundaries or test limits, being the chaotic person that he is, and yet, wanting to be called by name is a desire to form a genuine connection.

He could have just remained as ‘that human’ to Jeanne while interacting with her. After all, what could stop him? He also had the first condition in place to make sure they’d continue to interact. And yet, he refused (like how Noe refuses to be ‘that vampire’ to him).

Like Luna said, as long as he didn’t close his heart, he wouldn’t be alone. Even if Vanitas thinks it burdensome or wants to be ‘free’, it seems that he still does long for connection - romantic, platonic, or otherwise.

And this is why I ship them, even in this instance so early on in the manga when arguably the dynamic wasn’t at its healthiest. It’s because of their background that draws them to each other and allows them an understanding of one another. It’s because of that desire to know more about each other. It’s because of that genuine care and wanting to form a connection with each other, despite part of them rejecting it because of their issues.

Do I think they’re good for each other? Yes. Admittedly, they have so much to work on, but I believe that they push (Vanitas with regards to Jeanne’s blood addiction, and Jeanne with Vanitas in his moment of vulnerability) because the both of them tend to be self-destructive if left to their own devices. It’s just that their version of care for each other is aggressive. They’ll have to find that balance though eventually. On Vanitas’ part he also has to be inspired by Noe that the kind of salvation a person wants may not be the best possible outcome, especially for those left behind. I’m not sure what Mochizuki sensei’s end message is suppose to be, but death I don’t believe is salvation.

tldr: Vanitas is a self-sacrificial idiot who longs for connections under layers of self-loathing (but he’s still an asshole), and VaniJeanne is a good ship which had the foundations laid down from the beginning.

Random Relationship Headcanons | Felix Escellun x gn!reader

a/n: Hey ! On todays menu I am serving you modern au relationship headcanons. I know for a fact that I can’t write headcanons AT ALL yet here we are, out of spite I will keep trying until I can manage to write good shit. I’m going through a chaotic time in my life so please be patient with me 😭

I’m currently working on tattoo artist! reader x Felix headcanons and college!enemies to lovers one-shot. Knowing that Felix’s fav trope is enemies to lovers, I will post it hopefully before his new chapter drops. I used most of the hcs that were sent to me but if you couldn’t see yours, then it will probably be used on the other works.

You persuade him to start an Instagram account, and because of his family's popularity, he quickly gains followers. His account is practically empty because he would rather spend his time stalking your account on Instagram. You noticed the emptiness and wanted to take him out and take some photos for his account, which turned out amazingly. He is a little camera shy, so be patient with him.

You like to watch him apply his eyeliner but he finds it so stressing to do under your gaze. He used to be able to do it easily, but it has now become one of his most difficult tasks. You wanted to ask for his assistance in applying eyeliner to you in the hopes of making it simpler for him; he agreed but quickly regretted it when he realized how near your faces would be. You with your eyes closed, waiting for him to drag the line as he was only thinking about how bad he wanted to kiss you.

Felix has a Polaroid of you and stella in his wallet I said what I said.

When it comes to himself, he can be a pessimist, but when it comes to you, he is the most loving and positive boyfriend you could ever ask for. You have a dream ? He is ready to help you achieve it. Do you want to change in your life ? Go for it, He’s more excited than you are.

He can be quite insecure at times when it comes to your relationship because he feels like you deserve the world but the world is too big for his tiny hands. Will his cuddles be enough ? God he hopes so.

He almost cried when you told him you loved him for the first time. He's also baffled as to how you might feel the same way about him.

Drunk Felix is really clingy and honest. Whatever he can’t say sober drunk felix can and definitely will.

Felix is weird but it add to his charm. It’s not unusual for you to wake up in the middle of the night and find the pillow besides yours empty. In the dead of night, you will find Felix munching on some weird ass food combinations.

He also has a habit of doing things that are extremely adorable without even noticing it. Like walking around the house in his oversized shirts, his hand clutching at the cuffs whilst the other one sheepishly rubs his eye.

“Can I lay on your lap ? I promise I won’t fall asleep. I just need to rest for a little.” His voice is so soft and hushed. “Of course, come here.” He throws himself onto you as he comes hopping on his tip toes.

He falls asleep on his desk too often, so you have to carry him back to his room, where he snuggles against you while you lead him there. Once he's in his room, he insists that you stay with him, so you wait until he falls asleep as you play with his hair, and he wakes up thinking it was all a dream.

I firmly believe that Felix’s love language is acts of service. Like making you coffee and bringing you random snacks as you work or wrapping you up in fluffy blankets whenever he catches you slacking on the couch.

He's been romanticizing anything and everything since he met you. When he sees beautiful flowers, he wants to bring them to you, but he also believes that their beauty stems from the fact that they are alive, so he argues and stresses a lot when deciding what to do in simple situations like these.

His edginess belongs to his impulsiveness and his style only at any other situation he's a complete softboy.

And I'm certain he knows a variety of card tricks. He enjoys showing off, and he enjoys it even more when you become fascinated and beg him to share the trick.

If you're a morning person, you'll probably spend your mornings alone in solitude, finishing work before the day begins, but if you're a night owl, you and Felix will go out for night walks and Felix would go out for night walks, sharing headphones to play some music, enjoy each others presence and develop a habit of watching the sunrise together.

Felix makes you playlists at the most random times and with the most random names. Until one day he sent you a playlist at around 4 a.m called “you”, filled with his favorite music. He usually sees music as a safe space for himself and now that you are his safe place too it’s only appropriate for him to do so. This only further proves how he spends his time thinking about you.

I feel like Felix would have what most would call "attachment issues" but it’s mainly because of his protective tendencies. This is not to say that he’s this "overly jealous toxic" character; rather, he has never had anyone to truly call his own in his entire life so he would do anything to protect it.

Felix is also big on astrology, so if you want the perfect birth chart, he'll give it to you. Also he owns a lovely deck of tarot cards, and if you ask him for a love reading, he can't manage to keep his words and feelings to himself so he modifies your reading according to him and his desires. Let the boy abuse his powers for the sake of love.

His style could be described as dark academia, his wardrobe mainly consists of dark colors, lots and lots of blazers and a lot of oversized shirts. He also loves jewelry so he owns a lot of rings and chains. Just so you know, if you're wearing any of his rings, his heart is doing cartwheels.

Is it obvious that he loves it when you place your hand in his and play with his rings with your fingertips.

Spoil him. Buy him that baby blue hoodie with cat ears.

He’s also canonically extremely blushy but he would never admit it. You’re convinced he uses some sort of make up because it is not possible for the pink dusting his cheeks to look this good.

He insists that you’re cold even in the warmest weathers because he wants to see you in his coat.

Sage forces Felix to take his thirst trap Tiktoks.

He really appreciates it when you add to his herbal tea collection without him noticing and he considers it a sign of affection because he takes his tea very seriously.

He loses it when you call him baby he gets flustered and frustrated but it’s all because it rolls off of your tongue so nicely that he can’t get enough of it.

Felix owns a broad collection of scented lip balms some of them are tinted. You didn’t hear this from me.

He never once took anything the Sage says seriously until he saw how well you two got along. He never thought that he would be standing there taking relationship and flirting advice from the frat boy.

Felix is a complete asshole when he wants to. He’s very verbal about it too. Consistent sarcastic remarks and eye rolls. I mean it runs in his blood, look at Escell.

You love it when he suddenly whips out the confident Felix, it’s not a daily occurrence you know.

When Felix is concentrated, he’s lost and there’s almost no way you or anything else can distract him. So it’s time to grab some colorful hair clips and ties to fuck around with his hair.

Felix is not the best at verbally expressing his gratitude towards you. He doesn’t know what he would do if you weren’t there for him at the lowest points of his life where normally he would close himself and bare the weight of his family problems and personal life issues that he can’t seem to get out of. Now he has you, someone who’s willing to listen to him and offer him a warm embrace when he needs the most.

While you to play games together, when he wins he wears that iconic shit eating grin of his with pride looking at you through the corner of his eye. “Shit, what do you want me to say to that felix ? Perhaps I should call you master now that you won ‘one’ fucking round.” He is praying that the screen light is covering the fact that he is a blushy mess after hearing you say that.

I cannot stress this enough but he is extremely vocal in bed. Whining, trying to restrict himself from making too much noise but failing miserably.

He’s quite greedy when it comes to you and your hands on his body. Unbuttoning unnecessary amount of buttons on his shirt to show a little skin that he knows you’ll notice. Playing with his necklace placing the chain between his lips dragging it towards the inside of his bottom lip teasing the metallic charm with the tip of his tongue. He definitely ain’t oblivious he knows exactly what he’s doing and he makes sure that you know exactly what he’s doing.

When he’s in the mood he will tug the hem of your top meanwhile his eyes are glued to the floor or graze the temples of his glasses between his lips, his teeth lightly nibbling the pointy edge. He loves to play dumb too. When you question him, he acts like he doesn’t intend anything and that you need to get your head out of the gutter.

At the end of the session Felix looks divine. Drool leaking down from his bottom lip to his jaw line towards his neck, his bangs sticking on his sweat coated forehead, his chest rising up and down quickly. His eyes rolled at the back of his head, his hands still clutching tightly to the sheets. Faint whimpers and deep breaths filling the air.

Leading up to the after care, his shy self returns. He buries his face to your chest hiding his blushy cheeks beneath the palms of his hands.

He likes to experiment a lot and you are his favorite subject.

It shouldn’t be surprising to find random kink definitions or role-play ideas on the search history of your laptop. After all Felix just asked for it to write an email, that’s all there is to it. That’s until you offer to try them out.

When you two are in separate places your suggestive words and tone leads up to phone sex, which Felix secretly fantasized about a lot. What made everything even more dirty was the fact that you didn’t know that he was laying on your bed surrounded by your scent and humping your pillow. Once you come back home you are greeted with a fresh pair of sheets on your bed. Apparently Felix decided to do you a favor and clean your room as well as the the whole house. He’s crossing fingers that you don’t notice because he knows that he’ll never hear the end of it.

Felix knows a lot about sex but his knowledge is based upon fiction rather than experience. So, naturally, he is more interested about learning specifically how your body responds to certain actions, what you enjoy and what you’re interested in so teach him. He’s a good student and oh well he’s a quick learner.

analysis/interpretation on the ending scene of ōoku

I wanted to get my thoughts out about FGO event Ōoku now that the event is over, I’ve got no idea how Tumblr algorithm works but hopefully someone sees this and adds their own thoughts since I’d love to have discussion on this since I’ve got MANY words about this event tbh.

The main scene I wanted to go over was the ending at least, with the small discussion Kama and Kiara have with one another— to preface this, I sort of wanted to acknowledge for a fact Ōoku is NOT without flaw and is a pretty poorly written event in certain aspects, and I 100% understand why people are frustrated about how cruel this event treats Kama!! To be honest, I think the reason why I interpret the ending scene the way I do is a desperate attempt to give myself some closure over giving Kama some healing, but I wanted to see if anyone agreed first.

Anyways, about the scene itself: when reading through the ending, I personally thought Kiara’s send-off, although obviously still some form of “punishment” and “karmic retribution” was actually motivated by a small, good-intended desire to give Kama a chance of healing at Chaldea.

I sort of wanted to point out this scene in particular, which struck me differently compared to the reactions of other characters:

As observed by other people, I think it’s pretty sucky that most other characters basically congratulated Parvati for forcing a second traumatic experience onto Kama and barely turned an eye to how cruel the usage of her Noble Phantasm actually was (I’m aware Kama needed to be taken down sooner or later since, had their plan succeeded after all, they would’ve never gotten the chance to properly heal, but I still think it’s unnecessarily cruel to throw a second painful incineration specifically led by one of the main sources of their trauma in the first place).

But there is one character who DOES point out their concern for Kama’s fate, and that’s Sessyoin Kiara herself.

Kiara, with no doubt, is a wicked woman with flawed morals— she herself makes it a point to state this and does confirm this is her own way of giving Kama “punishment”.

And yet, what strikes me as important is that Kiara is the only character to point out that Kama had brought their fate on themself— she is, as far as I’m concerned, the only character to observe their motives and morals in its truest form and vaguely attempt to connect and empathize with such a mindset. Kiara also seems to be the only one to pick up on how Kama has a burning hatred for themself in this scene, while other characters of Ōoku tend to pass Kama off as arrogant, egoistical, and haughty.

In a way, I personally believe Kiara noticing the depth behind Kama’s personality and motives is already an act that no other characters of Ōoku provide for (especially Parvati, like wtf?). It reads as a vague attempt of both sympathy and empathy to give Kama a chance to be heard, and even if it is coupled with Kiara’s narcissistic and rather sadistic behavior, I do believe Kiara made nonetheless a small attempt to give Kama a sense of understanding. There even seems to be a vague hint of concern (Kiara later states “Even I would not go that far” regarding the incineration) towards Kama’s self-destructive behavior. Given Kiara’s masochistic tendencies, I only think that line is further important that she full-on admits Kama’s self-hatred actually surpasses her own limits for self-preservation.

Kiara herself actually points out Kama, in the end, has a rather pure and benevolent soul, stating:

While this could be read as Kiara attempting to mock Kama, especially given their angry reaction after— I like to believe that deep down inside, Kiara genuinely did acknowledge the tragedy of Kama’s situation. I once again want to reiterate the fact that scarcely any other character in Ōoku offers this sympathy, and Kiara is, once more, the only person to attempt to describe and observe Kama as an empathetic victim who was mistreated cruelly all throughout.

Then, once Kiara begins the process of assimilating Kama into the servant summoning system:

Punishment or not, Chaldea is exactly an environment Kama needs to heal, and I believe Kiara herself is aware of that— of course, I don’t believe Kiara was doing this out of the goodness of her heart, but there seems to be a hint of genuine concern for Kama behind the statement of redemption and “remaining misunderstood forever”.

Without Kiara sending Kama to Chaldea, it’s possible the tired god of love may have never been able to find peace and healing— more than likely, it feels as if Kama had fully intended to drift in their universe without end, seeing themselves as nothing more than a “loser” with a pathetic personality.

Described by their bond lines, and later their interlude, the type of people Kama needs to heal is found in Ritsuka— they need someone to (metaphorically) “teach” them love, for even if they’re aware of everything about it, they have long forgotten the positive, simple, and wholesome experiences associated with love. They’re aware of its existence, just as they’re aware of the love they held for Rati and Vasanta— but no longer feel any emotional connection or feeling to love in its purest form, and that is where characters like Ritsuka come into play. Chaldea is a place where Kama can “relearn” these experiences once more, and begin their path of healing— and I genuinely believe Kiara was fully aware of this while sending Kama to Chaldea.

Would also like to point out that one of the main motifs of this event was the whole lesson behind Kasuga’s definition of love— rather than endless depravity that spoils people rotten and, as a result, condones evil and sin, love is instead found through a sense of nurturing and guidance— an act of supporting and helping a person grow without necessarily keeping shackles on their development.

Kiara’s actions here seems to be vaguely reminiscent of the love Kasuga feels for the Ōoku and the shoguns— even if she does not presently state this, she similarly desires to reach an understanding with Kama and send them on this path of healing and development. For a woman that ultimately can only love herself, I think it is still important for both of their characters that Kiara was nonetheless capable of hinting, at the very least, empathy for Kama and a desire to give them healing closure no other character in Ōoku attempts to provide.

Again, I don’t deny that Kiara did not have the purest intentions by toying with Kama at the end, and I still believe Ōoku is poorly written in this regard of unnecessarily torturing a trauma victim— but, just as Kama was built by tragedy, Kiara underwent similar— even if Kiara herself is presently aware there is no longer “good” in her and she is no longer the holy woman she once was, Kiara still nonetheless desires for good to exist— just not specifically from herself, and linking Kama with Ritsuka was an example of her trying to keep the existence of good morals. This, to me, also felt like a conclusion to Kiara’s whole practice of self-restraint throughout the event— she wants to “guide” Ritsuka into development and eventually take her down, secretly motivating for them to abstain from her, even if she still nonetheless desires to be the one to corrupt them in the end.

I’ve got a big handful of other thoughts on this event (especially as a huge Kama fan), but that’s all I’ll touch on here, since I really wanted to share at least my interpretation of the ending scene and what it meant to both Kama and Kiara. I also really want to discuss this with others, so please feel free to add on! If you don’t agree with any of this, that’s fine too, but I’d still love to hear people’s thoughts nonetheless.

Speaking of spooky, the thought of Kitsune Reader who was helping Nezuko fight one of the Upper Ranks gets injuried and almost has their tails sliced off (Tails are the life source of a kitsune). Now that Upper Rank has two angry siblings after them for almost killing Kitsune Reader.

Kitsune Reader who has to calm them down since they're not equipped right now to fight them and they'll get them in a later time.

Or Kitsune Reader using every ounce of their own self restraint from not harming the Hashiras for harming Nezuko and Tanjiro simply because they do not believe Nezuko will not harm humans. Luckily, they have a smaller form so everyone be waking up to a few clothes of theirs being bitten/ripped.

Osamu Dazai Yandere Alphabet

this was requested by a lot of people and i wrote it awhile ago but am only posting it now bc i spent way too much time fussing over whether it was any good lol.

Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

One word: smothering. Dazai's idea of affection involves robbing you of your privacy and getting in your personal space as much as possible. He doesn't even care if you're not comfortable with it, so for anyone who doesn't like being touched, he's an absolute nightmare to be with. He especially likes to wrap his arms around your shoulders from behind and stand like that for as long as possible.

Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

As messy as necessary! He's more likely to get messy with you than with rivals, though. He is a sadist, but now that he has his precious darling this is all directed towards you, meaning his rivals get fairly swift deaths if Dazai does decide they need to die.

Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

As previously mentioned, Dazai is a sadist, and therefore loves to cause his darling pain whether that be physical or emotional. Despite this, he can act sweet and loving too, especially if you're not resistant. He does occasionally mock you, but it's not his main tactic of hurting you.

Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling's will?

Yes, definitely. His darling's wants and needs are completely meaningless to him. To his darling, he may even seem oblivious, but the truth is he just doesn't care. You said you don't want him to spike your drink? Oh, well that's just too bad.

Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

Surprisingly, Dazai will actually be himself around his darling, rather than putting on a persona. He believes that since he loves you, you should know his true self. You're the only person in the world who will ever get to see the real Dazai, though that isn't necessarily a good thing. Don't get excited though, this doesn't mean he is vulnerable, in fact he is probably worse now he doesn't have to restrain himself.

Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

Mostly amused. A part of Dazai enjoys someone who fights back and won't give in easily, in fact you could even argue he is somewhat masochistic since he gets rather excited by your anger towards him.

Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

Certainly. Dazai is fascinated by human behaviour and watching you react to various torture and situations is his form of entertainment. He may eventually get irritated if you are constantly trying to escape, but he somewhat admires your resilience.

Hell: What would be their darling's worst experience with them?

Honestly, the whole experience is a nightmare because there is no chance of a good ending. Dazai can't be reasoned with, there are no compromises and it is guaranteed to end in tragedy. No matter how strong or smart you are, you can't escape. The best ending is for Dazai to kill you, because at least then your suffering will be over.

Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

Dazai never expected to live this long, so he's never bothered thinking about the future before, even when it comes to his darling. However, if it came down to it, he'd probably want something similar to the 'typical' married life: a house, loving partner and maybe some kids. He wants to feel more human and he figures acting like everyone else is a good start. Although, despite these fantasies, Dazai will never actually be able to live this life due to who he is.

Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

Oh, Dazai is the definition of jealous. He can't even handle the prospect of you thinking about someone else, let alone anything like actually talking to them. He has to be the centre of your world or he will literally go insane. He's not a hothead like Chuuya, so aside from a very tight grip on you and a dark glare, his jealousy won't be noticeable immediately. However, that's not to say he won't do anything about the situation — scheming on how he can ruin this persons life and if they really don't get the message, he supposes he'll just have to show them what happens to vermin who steal his darling's attention.

Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?

He still retains some of his cheery and mischievous persona, but make no mistake, once he's got you trapped, he'll reveal a much darker side. He likes to act oblivious to your suffering just to wind you up— oh, you're crying about how you want to be let out? so... anyways, what should we have for dinner? — and takes pleasure in both your despair and your anger towards him.

Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

Depending on which version of Dazai we're talking about here (Mafia or ADA), his way of courting will be different. If you meet while he's in the Port Mafia, he will be more creepy than romantic. Relying more on intimidation than charm, he'll spend his time sadistically toying with you and jumping out of nowhere to wrap his arms around you in a suffocating hold. ADA!Dazai is pretty much the complete opposite— overwhelming you with endless gifts (mainly pricey chocolate and flowers), reciting cheesy love poetry, flirting constantly and of course always asking you whether you'd commit a double suicide with him.

Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

Definitely. While Dazai appears as a cheerful, suicidal maniac with a penchant for troublemaking, he is actually quite different. Around you he does retain some of his facade, but the cracks will show and it'll be undoubtedly unsettling. He deceives you with his sweeter, more carefree side, before he reveals the merciless, cynical person he truly is.

Naughty: How would they punish their darling?

Punishing his darling is Dazai's favourite thing... much to the disdain of his darling. He'll punish you for just about anything and half the time he won't even explain what you've done wrong, simply wanting an excuse to have his fun. His punishment can take many forms, usually sexual, and always teaches you a lesson. The punishments you receive depend on whether we're talking about mafia!Dazai or ADA!Dazai, the former typically based around humiliation and the latter around degradation and pain. (I have quite a few ideas but I didn't want to write too much on this here).

Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?

Rights? Freedom? What are those? You don't know because you haven't experienced the feeling of independence and being able to make your own decisions since Dazai took an interest in you. He's an unbearably jealous person so he can't allow you to even look at other people, let alone talk to them. Despite how much you prove your loyalty to Dazai, he will still refuse to loosen his suffocating hold over you and your freedom.

Patience: How patient are they with their darling?

If Dazai thinks it's worth it, he can wait for just about anything, so he is usually relatively patient with his darling. I say 'usually', because while he doesn't mind waiting, he prefers his darling to respond to his questions and advances instantly and you risk getting punished if you don't. Unfortunately for you, you'll never know how patient he's feeling so it's always best to just be alert and reply immediately when he asks you something.

Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

Definitely not. Dazai's life felt pointless until he met his beloved darling, so you leaving/dying would absolutely destroy him and increase his suicidal tendencies tenfold. Without his raison d'être what point is there in continuing to live?

Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

Guilt? Why on earth would Dazai feel guilty? He needs his darling to be around him pretty much 24/7 and kidnapping is the safest option for everyone, why should he feel guilty? I mean, who knows what kind of havoc Dazai would wreak if he couldn't have you by his side...

Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?

Dazai's own ability describes exactly just how disconnected from other people he feels, so it's no surprise that he doesn't really understand love. It's the curiosity of what it's like to be human — to be like everyone else — that will compel him to pursue his darling to the point it develops into an obsession. You'll also have to be different enough to keep his attention, perhaps being eccentric in your own way or being extremely hard to read. He can't feel genuine love, at least not like others do, but he can feel intense obsession and that may be even more dangerous.

Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

Unsurprisingly, Dazai enjoys his darling's tears and despair, being the sadist he is. However, he only likes it when he's the cause of your pain or distress, if you were crying because of someone else it would infuriate him to no end.

Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

He appears like the typical delusional and deranged yandere, but he's actually very calculating and certainly lucid. He's fully aware of everything he's doing and how wrong it is, but does he care? Not in the slightest.

Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

Honestly, it's hard to think of ways you could escape Dazai as he is extremely smart and unlike some other yanderes, no matter how compliant you are he will never let down his guard in the slightest. The only possibility is to kill him: whether that's by poisoning his food, smothering him in his sleep or biting down so hard on his neck he bleeds out. Either way, resorting to murder is the most plausible way of escaping.

Wit's end: Would they ever hurt their darling?

Of course! What's the point of being with your beloved if you can't inflict a little pain onto them? Pain will be a daily occurrence for you as nothing is more melodic to Dazai than your cries of pain.

Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?

While Dazai doesn't worship you per say, he does see you as ethereal— an angel that he feels compelled to ruin. Since doesn't see himself as human, you are very different to him in his mind. He wants someone else to feel as inhuman as he does, which is why he takes great pleasure in destroying your humanity. He isn't worried about winning you over either; he may appear like he is trying to do so, but he knows that if you don't return his advances he can just make you love him.

Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?

As mentioned previously, Dazai can be very patient when he wants to be and has no problem playing the long game if he feels it is necessary. He won't kidnap you immediately: preferring to slowly worm his way into your life so that by the time you realise his true, much darker intentions, it's already too late to escape.

Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?

Well, he wants to mould his darling into the perfect submissive little kitten, so yes it is likely he would break them down until all he had to do was rebuild them in the image he wanted. Even if you genuinely love him back and want to be with him, Dazai will still tear down your mental stability to the point of complete reliance on him. He's never experienced any real love from another person before or been in an actual relationship, so it's safe to say his views on love are a little skewed. However, after he had completely broken you, Dazai would feel the closest he can to regret. He doesn't actually want you to be a lifeless doll, but unfortunately he only realises this after you're already too far gone.

Drake analysis for his birthday!

Long post, part 1 of 2! Feel free to share your thoughts!

Drake analysis;

*WARNING : MAJOR spoilers for the Gone series and Monster series, discussions of child abuse, misogynistic mindsets, victim blaming, discussion of torture, sexual assault and rape*

This is a general analysis of Drake's character, focusing mostly on scenes from GONE and HUNGER (where he, arguably, has the most autonomy). If there any specific scenes or books you'd like me to take a look at, please let me know! :)

1| Pre-Coates Drake (overview)

Drake was already showing worrying signs, even before the FAYZ (and before he got sent to Coates); it's mentioned that he found enjoyment in microwaving a puppy and burning frogs. Either this was done covertly until the Holden incident, was done at Coates, or was ignored by his family (likely the former).

This tells us a couple of things:

A. His family may neglect or ignore him (or he ignores them)

Torturing these animals, a strange hobby as it is, does require time and commitment. This distance from his parents during his formative years could create antisocial tendencies and isolation from his 'loved ones'.

B. His sadistic tendencies developed before the death of his father and his mother's remarriage (more on that later).

However, Drake didn't start hurting people until he shot the "neighbour's kid, Holden" who "liked to come over and annoy him".

This short description gives us an insight into Drake's short leash on himself: his temper and impulses are hard to control, and he's aggravated to the point of almost committing murder at a young age (he was 14 in Gone, so this could have been at any age before then) - the book tells us that despite only being shot in the leg by Drake with a .22, "even then, he'd nearly died".

This was the incident that got Drake sent to Coates (a boarding school for mostly "rich", messed-up kids) - this could also clue us into how Drake didn't appear to be legally punished for shooting Holden, as his family might have been well-off (implying they'd rather just buy the victim's silence and ship Drake away rather than deal with his issues on their own, or get a private therapist - or perhaps they believe it's out of their hands?).

However, this is based on assumptions and not solid ground.

2 | Drake and his father.

Drake was taught to shoot by his father, a Highway Patrol lieutenant, using his service pistol. This formed an integral part of who he became, and they now had something in common -

"Don't shoot a person," his father had said. But then he relented, relieved no doubt to find something he could share with his disturbing son."

Despite his father being wary of Drake's early sadistic tendencies, he seemed to be the person that Drake was closest to, and his death affected him majorly. As perhaps the only person who even slightly understood him or sought to find something to do with him, his father's death appeared to be a pivotal moment for Drake - it signalled the end of any sense of a positive male role model in Drake's life, as his mother's next husband was abusive. This would cause him to seek out "strong", violent, dominant men when he was older.

The most likely timeline in my opinion is :

•Drake develops sadistic tendencies

•Drake's father dies

•Drake's mother remarries

•Drake shoots Holden and is sent to Coates

3 | Drake and his stepfather and mother

There is subtextual information that Drake is abused by his stepfather: "the beatings he'd suffered, and the much more numerous beating he had delivered, the pleasure he had found in burning frogs and microwaving a puppy and drawing all those endless loving pictures of weapons, spears, knives, torture devices, all of it, all the hatreds, all the burning lust, all the madness and rage.."

"But he was always a troubled boy. Especially after my son died. The stepfather...young Drake’s stepfather..." - Drake Merwin Sr to Connie temple

To digress :

This small passage in Plague and Sr's speech in Light gives us leagues of information.

Drake is drawn to things that cause pain, he's sickly fascinated with all kinds of weapons, "torture devices" (cleverly hinted at in Hunger, when he's watching Saw II), and the true depth of his emotions are revealed - along with a great deal of self-awareness.

Drake doesn't lack emotion - he's incredibly emotional. The things he does feel (rage, lust, joy) seem to be felt deeper, as if his lack of empathy amplifies the rest of his spectrum of emotions. Drake is also aware of what he feels - the "burning lust" mentioned is especially important to understanding Drake - the misogynistic hatred of Astrid and Diana stems from his apparent inability to distinguish between sexual attraction and causing pain (again, his sadistic desires)

The two are one, in Drake's mind.

[More on that later*]

But where did the misogynist mindset come from in the first place?

The answer lies in Drake's home life following the death of his father.

Drake's mother remarried - but his stepfather was an abusive man, leading to an incredibly toxic relationship. Drake, in his youth, already having the urge to hurt and kill, was exposed to that kind of extreme violence. Drake's stepfather beat his mother in front of him, and because his mother seemingly took actions to antagonise him enough to beat her, Drake (with the mindset of a child, who may have already seen it as a betrayal by his mother to remarry after his father's death)

concluded that she did it deliberately because she liked it.

This misconstruction and victim-blaming set in place a cycle of violence that would form Drake's victim-perpetrator mindset. [*]

It could also imply that Drake's mother's actions of irritating his stepfather directly impacted Drake himself: his stepfather took out his anger on his stepson, and beat Drake too.

This could stand to reason as another explanation why Drake's hatred of women developed - lacking positive female role models and maternal figures in his life led to distance from women, and led him to think that all women were intrinsically weak, irritating and masochistic in their desires.

(This would establish a sadistic-masochistic dynamic that Drake believed all woman [for some, like Astrid, secretly] wanted / partook in, and fuel the idea that women were weak and cowardly as his mother failed to protect him from her husband's violence.)

With a stunted, childish psyche, Drake lost sight of the real issue - the fact that his stepfather was abusive - and directed his anger at someone "safe" and "easy" to hate- his mother, whom he victim-blamed.

We can infer that Drake's childhood was filled with uncertainty and violence, and therefore he sought out control as a way to find a sense of stability in his life, and linked violence with strength and power - therefore, he won't recognise any authority that doesn't use violence as the main way to achieve its aims (hence why he's so gleeful when Caine "is lowered to his level" by using violence, and Drake himself only exercises power through shows of violence and using fear as a means of control - he has no sense of loyalty)

The build-up of resentment at his mother would explode, but not at its original target - at Drake's two known objects of sexual attraction in the FAYZ, Astrid and Diana [who will be addressed separately, as their treatments differ in some aspects. In this post I believe I'll only be addressing Diana, but if you want the full Astrid post comment I guess!]

4| Drake and Diana

Drake fears humiliation - mainly, from the female population. In Gone, Drake comments on this :

"He felt a moment of panic then...He would look like a fool if he didn't get [Astrid]."

"Drake cursed and, again, for just a moment, felt the almost desperate fear of failing Caine. He wasn't worried what Caine would do to him - after all, Caine needed him- but he knew if he failed to carry out Caine's orders, Diana would laugh."

What Drake hates about Diana here is her ability to make him feel humiliated, weak, powerless, a failure - everything he's bound to have felt in his childhood when he couldn't protect his mother or himself against his stepfather. He craves the feeling of power over others, and loathes the feeling of helplessness. We can see that he's aware that Caine uses him and needs him to act as a threat, and he accepts this for now, with the ultimate goal of overthrowing him, but his real fear is being publicly seen as weak and being laughed at, which drives him to do anything to succeed in Caine's eyes and, in his own words, "wipe the smirk off Diana's face"

"Drake had made time to check out Diana's psych file the day after the FAYZ came. But her file had been missing by then. In its place she had left Drake's file lying open on the doc's desk and drawn a little smiley face beside the word "sadist".

Drake had already hated her. But after that, hating Diana had become a full-time occupation."

Diana humiliates Drake, and gains power over him by knowing information about his mental state. Drake, who had the same idea to gain power over Diana, is infuriated and his hatred of her, once a burning ember, is now a raging volcano. We can see that Drake doesn't fear that Diana will hurt him psychically, but emotionally by provoking and humiliating him.

"To Drake's disgust, Caine accepted Diana's back-talk."

Diana has power over Caine that Drake can't hope to accomplish, due to the fact that Caine is attracted to her. Caine's desire of Diana outweighs any loyalty or comradeship he has with Drake. Diana also uses Caine's want for her as a failsafe protection against Drake.

Drake's misogyny shines through here: he sees the fact that Diana is manipulating Caine, and sees how he tolerates it. Drake realises that Diana can get away with much more than Drake himself can - she has more power over Caine than Drake does. And this power, in Drake's eyes, isn't "earned" as it wasn't gained through violence.

Drake disregards any kind of power that isn't earned through pain - this also shows in his hatred of freaks, who he sees as not having "earned" the right to be powerful, and explains his glee at, yes,suffering the pain of his arm being burnt off, but it being replaced by something that enables him to cause pain to others - like a reward for enduring the pain. Drake wants his suffering to mean something, and to gain something from it. Drake wants to be important.

"Go ahead, raise a hand against me, Drake," Diana taunted. "Caine would kill you."

We see another example where Diana uses the threat of Caine to keep Drake in line.

Diana is described as attractive throughout the books by varying characters, and so we infer that Drake finds her attractive, but in his twisted, misognyistic mindset, this is translated to violence. Additionally, he already disliked her so his hatred for Diana is stronger than for any other girl in the FAYZ (even Astrid).

5| Drake and Caine

The foreshadowing of Drake's betrayal

We've established that Drake lacks any sense of loyalty and trust due to a lack of these in his own childhood. Drake also only sees respect as being earned by shows of violence and dominance.

Drake, lacking positive male role models, appears to latch on to Caine, the "most ruthless" of all the boys at Coates, and the most powerful (in a literal sense, with his telekinesis). Caine is mentioned to do small favours for Drake (but, crucially, plays Drake and Diana off against each other [*]), and seemingly gains Drake's initial respect.

Drake, however, seeks to usurp Caine (due to his hatred of freaks, and needing to have a sense of superiority. He also sees Caine as weak and below him for bowing to Diana's demands due to Caine being attracted to her.)

When the Coates trio is first introduced together, in Gone, - "Drake Merwin stood smirking, arms across his chest, on Caine's left, and Diana Ladris watched the crowd from Caine's right"

I'm perhaps guilty of looking too much into this initial description, but I find it interesting - despite being Caine's "right-hand man" and even Drake taunts Diana that he and Caine are "like brothers" (Hunger), Drake stands on his left and Diana on his right.

While this also serves to cement (haha) Caine's role as the 'Fearless Leader', it could also foreshadow Drake's betrayal later in Hunger, and his need to "run the show".

Drake, the Judas figure to Caine's christ [maybe a post on this at some point?*], stands on his left. It also marks Diana as the loyal follower, the one to stay with Caine until the end.

The decimation of Drake and Caine's relations ship culminates in the final events of HUNGER, when Drake almost kills Diana and Caine throws Drake down the mineshaft in revenge and anger.

This marks a shift to Drake's character - he's no longer under Caine's control - but emphasises that his loyalty is now fully to the Gaiaphage, whom he worships for giving him power over others [!!] (the whip hand, which grants him the ability to hurt and kill others, and in LIES, immorality)

We can see that what Drake actually craves is, in GONE: to run things himself, a personal anarchist dream where he can hurt anyone he wants, (and yet he needs a strong male figure behind the scenes to give him motivation), or the illusion of control, found in causing others pain, as he lacks the mental stability and leadership needed to be in control, and he lacks long-term goals beyond revenge and fulfilling his sadistic desires, and is rudderless without a leader (as seen in Monster, where he is "mindlessly killing, torturing and raping anyone he comes across" until he is sought out by Tom Peaks, who gives him motivation)

This is supported by Peaks' comment on this in VILLAIN -

"But along with the sneers, he sensed that Drake was looking for leadership. Drake had no plan, never would have any plan, beyond his next murder."

Drake and his hatred of freaks, and how this impacts his relationship with Caine -

"Drake hated the power. There was only one reason why Caine and not Drake was running the show: Caine's powers."

"But Caine understood that the kids with powers had to be controlled. And once Caine and Diana had all the freaks under control, what was to stop Drake from using his own nine millimetres of magic to take it all for himself?"

Drake always planned to usurp Caine, as he thinks he's too influenced by Diana and due to his hatred of freaks. Drake hates anyone having power over him, and Caine's abilities give him a unique advantage, which Drake loathes.

Caine and Drake - altercations before the betrayal and what they show

"She was your mother and she gave you up and kept Sam?" Drake said, laughing in his enjoyment of Caine's humiliation.

Drake's sadism shines through and he turns entirely reckless in tormenting Caine, his desire to see Caine humiliated outweighing any fear he has of him. For Drake, fulfilling these sadistic urges take precedence over everything - even fear, pain, rage. We can see that he seems to not know when to stop, or chooses to push people past their limits anyways.

Caine responds in physical violence, the language Drake seems to understand - "Something slammed Drake's chest. It was like being hit by a truck. He was lifted off his feet and thrown against the wall."

Drake refuses to be humiliated (in front of Diana, curiously) - "He made himself shake it off. He wanted to jump up and go for Caine, finish him quick before the freak could hit him again. But Caine was there, looming over him, face red, teeth bared, looking like a mad dog."

"Remember who's the boss, Drake," Caine said, his voice low, guttural, like it was coming from an animal."

"Drake nodded, beaten. For now."

This small passage gives us a lot of messages about Drake. He wants to appear strong and vicious, but plays it smart and backs down to avoid the risk of Caine actually killing him. Drake and Caine's dynamic is, crucially, a power struggle at its heart.

However, Drake doesn't give up - he's admirably resilient and persistent in chasing his goals of revenge, and "winning" the power struggle against Caine. He does, at least in GONE, possess a good amount of intelligence and foresight.

Caine (and Diana) being aware of Drake's psychopathy

Caine :

"Drake is a violent, disturbed boy." - Caine to Sam, the gym scene in GONE.

Caine knows of Drake's afflictions, but keeps him around as a lackey to do his dirty work. He also considers himself morally superior to Drake - he remarks that at least he doesn't "get off" on what he does.

Hypocritically, Caine does not see his own actions as being just as damaging, but this is due to his overinflated ego and delusions of grandeur - he believes the ends he wants justifies the means he uses.

Diana :

"Drake is sick in the head. I'm not saying that just to scare you, I'm saying it because it's true...Drake is flat out sick in the head. He could kill her, Sam" - Diana to Sam, the gym scene in GONE.

"Well, that's why we keep Drake around. He enjoys hurting people." - Diana to Astrid, classroom scene in GONE.

Diana shares a similar opinion to Caine - he's mentally unhinged, but Diana recognises the threat he poses to both her and to Caine, and wants him gone.

6| Drake and dominance & submission

"Drake moved past Diana and kicked Sam onto his back, legs twisted beneath him. Drake stood over him and pushed the end of his hat against Sam's Adam's apple. The same move he had used on Orc the night before."

We see that Drake is physically strong, despite his unassuming stature - he's described as "lean". He has been in enough fights and has enough experience to take down people at least "fifty pounds" heavier than him (Orc). He also puts these people into humiliating, submissive positions where they have no choice but to capitulate to his demands.

He speaks to Astrid in LIGHT about this -

"Are you as clueless as the rest of them, Astrid? It’s simple. Here it is, here’s the answer, Astrid the Genius: it’s fun to hurt people. It’s such…it’s such joy, Astrid. Such joy realizing that all the power is yours, and all the fear and pain is right there, in your victim. Come on, smart girl, you know what it’s called. You know the word for it. Come on, say it.’ He cupped his hand to his ear, waiting for the word.

'Evil,’ Astrid said.

Drake laughed, threw up his hand wide, and nodded his head. 'Evil! There you go. Good for you. Evil. It’s in all of us. You know that, too. It was in you. I saw it in your eyes as you looked down on me in that cooler. Evil, hah. We all want to have someone powerless beneath us while we stand over them.’ His voice had grown husky. 'We all want that. We all want that.’

One thing that stands out about Drake's character is that he likes to believe that everyone, at some level, has the same desires he does: Drake is just "strong" enough to act on them.

Drake likes to antagonise people to 'bring them down to his level'.

In this speech, Drake reveals a lot about himself.

"it's fun to hurt people" ,in particular, keys us in to the fact that Drake is self-aware, and making Astrid call him "evil" is part of this: Drake knows what he's doing is morally wrong. Drake wants people to think that he is evil, that he's ruthless, that he's nothing but a sadistic murderer, because he doesn't want to reveal his true vulnerability and helplessness.

He calls out the hypocrisy of Astrid for seemingly reveling in his pain and still condemning him for the desires over which he has no control. [This is not to say that I believe he is right for acting on them; the urges he can't control, but he can control his actions]. This is Drake's make me your villain speech. His final cry for help, in a way.

He wants everyone to be like him. He wants to not be judged, he aches for the confirmation that he is not alone in wanting power and vengeance and pain.

"We all want to have someone powerless beneath us while we stand over them." - Drake's experience of the roles being reversed, and the victim-perpetrator cycle show through here. Drake seeks power because he was denied it.

It is paradoxical in that, arguably, he wouldn't be like this if people hadn't punished him for things he couldn't control (involuntary sadistic impulses), and it is sad that we realise he could have been so much more, had circumstances been different.

Drake is a dark mirror of every dark thought we ever have. He, horrifyingly so, reflects the human urge to inflict pain as revenge. Drake's story is a cautionary tale. Many can relate to his harsh childhood, and Drake reminds us that no matter how much pain is inflicted on us, we bear the weight of not continuing that cycle onto others. That is the curse of being good. That is the curse of being human. That is the curse of empathy.

Crucifixion - in MONSTER, it is revealed that Drake has been 'alive' for years, and we find out in VILLAIN that he resides in a cave in the desert along with 3 bodies - 2 female, one male, people he recently tortured. He crucified them with "railroad spikes" and left them to hang from the bones of their wrists. We can see that Drake leaves them in humiliating positions deliberately - "The only thing better would be to have Sam nailed to the opposite wall, forced to watch it all. To see Astrid degraded as Sam watched? He could not imagine anything better."

This is an example of his psychosexual development being warped - he associates sex with violence and power. He tortures and degrades his victims as a way to fulfil his sexual and sadistic urges.

7| Drake and Orc as foils

Drake and Orc first oppose each other in the early chapters of GONE - Drake is given power over Orc by Caine - "Drake and his people, including Captain Orc.."

This establishes a hierarchy within the "sherrifs". Drake leads them, but ultimately defers to Caine - (and, he is given power over others at Caine's will.)

Orc, like Drake, had a traumatic childhood and was abused by his father, and his "dumb dishrag" mother does nothing to stop it (she herself is abused by her husband, and rebukes Charles for wanting to kill his father.)

Both Orc and Drake blame their mothers for failing to stop the abuse of their husbands (and their father and step-father in Drake's case).

This is an interesting comparison, as it cements (haha) both Orc and Drake as bullies with short tempers who need to have control, each with a shrewd, conniving friend who effectively "leads" them.

Also, for the most part in the books, they're the only characters with physical mutations (both resulting from physical injury!) and turn their backs on the shrewd friend at some point (Drake and Caine becoming enemies, Orc finding faith and becoming distanced from Howard's crimes).

The fight between them at the start of GONE is a clever foreshadow to their battle at the end of GONE (and, of course, their long-lasting rivalry) and provides a comparison between the two.

They butt heads when Orc is ordered to defer to Drake when Caine is giving out roles, and Caine handles it by crushing a boy with a cross - but no physical altercation happens until Orc punishes Bette for "doing magic tricks".

The anti-freak agenda (ironic, considering they both end up gaining mutations, at similar points too!) of both Drake and Orc is pointed out, but Orc is almost painted as a "lesser evil" - as if Orc may be a garden-variety bully, but Drake is pure, distilled essence of evil.

"Orc...went for Drake like a linebacker. Drake stepped aside, nimble as a matador."

"Drake hit Orc in the ribs with a short, sharp forward thrust of the bat. Then again in the kidneys and again in the side of the head. Each blow was measured, accurate, effective."

Drake is the quick and nimble to Orc's sluggishness, the playfulness to Orc's sullen demeanour. He is "lean" where Orc is "wide" - their battle at the end is described as "their quick-and-slow, nimble-and-heavy, sharp-and-dull battle".

This is a perfectly well written description in my opinion - succinct, and perfectly accurate of them.

The main differences, however, are their personal views on their mutations, and their arcs.

Orc thinks he's a monster - he knows he is physically repulsive, and detests himself. He feels immense guilt over the pain he caused, and seeks to redeem himself through finding faith and asking for forgiveness from God.

Drake, in contrast, adores the power that his mutation gives him. He even describes himself as "Jesus with a whip". His mutation, in Drake's eyes, gives him control over others and he relishes in this.

Drake feels no remorse over the pain he causes, and doesn't desire redemption.

His God-figure is the Gaiaphage, whom he eventually betrays as he desires personal revenge on Astrid and Diana and cannot cope with Gaia being female due to his misogynistic views.

However, Drake and Orc share an interesting scene in Plague with Astrid - Orc seeks out Astrid with the intent to hurt her (it is implied to be sexual violence) and is interrupted by Drake arriving at Coates with his army of bugs. Drake picks up on Orc's intentions.

Drake confesses to Orc that he had the same idea.

"You think she'll give you a big, wet kiss on your gravel face?" He peered closer at Orc as if looking inside him. "Nah, Orc, the only way you get Astrid is the same way I get her. And that's what you were thinking, isn't it?"

Mammon:

He’s a slob. Levi’s stated that his floor was covered with old ramen cups, used tissues, clothes, etc, and I can definitely see him not bothering to put in the effort to clean. BUT, I think when he really cares about someone, he does. I mean, we went into his room once, and the dude keeps a CAR in his room! (And a projector, and a pool table, so he obviously cares about having nice things.) I just think he doesn’t care about how they look if he’s the only one looking at them, but when the MC went into his room, it was suddenly clean. So, he puts in effort when there’s someone worth putting in effort for in his life.

He’s dense, but not always malicious. He may do something to bother someone, but then he’ll forget he was doing it the next day. He doesn’t really hold grudges.

Canonically, he sleeps naked, and I think that’s an important detail we all forget. ;D

He has crazy-awesome reflexes when it counts, and he’s super fast. He’s way stronger than he looks.

It’s really easy to get him to cry over something when he’s emotionally invested. Sappy romance? Yeah, he’s in tears. Someone he liked died in a horror flick? He’s screaming at the TV. There’s an emotional ending during a video game? Man, he’s crying whenever he thinks about it for days. If you call him out, he’s going to just tell you to shut up and pretend to have something in his eye. Or he’s going to wail about how it’s “so saaaddddd!!”

Likes to party, and more is always better. He drinks in both Devildom and the human world, but since he’s a demon, human world alcohol doesn’t really affect him.

Abandons his pride when money or his credit card are at stake. I think he’d also be the type to be thinking of/roped into “get rich quick” schemes.

Despite being greedy, he’s always in debt. Don’t ever lend him money.

Hates witches and mistrusts them on sight now, but if money gets brought back into it, he’s liable to get tricked again.

Definitely isn’t a morning person.

Isn’t above lying to make himself look better, even if it’s a big lie.

Actually has a pretty big fan following from his modeling work.

He’s a sweet tsundere that just wants hugs and attention -- in fact, you might say he’s greedy for it. He’s definitely prone to jealousy, too, and has the tendency to be possessive.

And as Lucifer’s said, Mammon’s a total masochist.

Levi:

He’s working toward his goal of being a famous Deviltuber, so he’s started recording himself and posting about his adventures outside of the House of Lamentation on Devilgram. (”.... and sent!”)

The only person that can feasibly make sounds like lmao and lolololol and rotfl with their mouth. He’s done it so often that sometimes, his laugh naturally comes out as lololololol.

He wants to be a programmer, but can’t seem to take online classes or tutorials in Devildom, since he can’t get them from the human world. If someone would bring him one, that’d mean the world to him.

Sleeps in a bathtub. There’s sometimes when he sleeps in his demon form (still wearing boxers) with the tub filled with water.

Talks to his anime figures and dusts all of his merch shelves at least twice a week. He’s organized.

He’s also played quite a few dating sims -- and hentai games, most likely. BUT ONLY IF THE STORY’S GOOD OR HAS SOME KIND OF TWIST OR IT’S IRONIC.

Makes his own cosplay costumes and really wants to go to a human anime convention.

Refuses to believe anyone else is an otaku or “true fan”, and even if you’re super into anime or conventions, it’s going to take a while before he’ll stop calling you a “normie.”

He’d also have a few hang-ups over feeling like he’s cheating on his favorite anime character whenever he starts to develop feelings for someone else.

He’s prone to jealous fits -- and gets rather angry when he’s envious. He’s liable to strike out in his demon form if he caught an s/o cheating on him or something, and then spiral into self-loathing (”It’s not faaaiiiirrr!”).

Reads fanfiction on the daily and has some secret self-insert fics typed up for TSL that he’s too nervous to post.

Satan:

Has sort of a blank-slate personality; there isn’t a whole lot he’s particularly passionate about, but when he gets into something, he gets into it.

In that vein, his personality can be influenced. If you’re really into something, he’s liable to jump on it with you or have his opinion swayed (unless it’s regarding something he can research).

He loves the detective dramas (Like A Beacon in the Dark), and he’d really love the Ace Attorney games. He’d be the type to go around, shouting Objection when he didn’t agree with something.

Enjoys getting involved in schemes -- if he thinks there’s a way for it to make life harder for Lucifer, at least at first. He influenced a lot of Mammon’s poor decisions, though did it in a way that made it seem like they were all his elder brother’s fault.

Reads constantly because he wants to be as knowledgeable as possible. Even in this weird school life setting Diavolo has set up, he takes the tests seriously and makes sure his marks are all perfect. He’s also a big fan of museums and history.

Doesn’t make pacts lightly, so when he’s denied, he understandably goes ballistic.

He’s angry all the time, but has become excellent at keeping it in check and giving off a calm, cool demeanor.

Loves cats and keeps trying to sneak one into the House of Lamentation. Also appreciates dogs and wanted one other than Cerberus, but now that Lucifer’s teaching him how to handle that guard dog, he’s planning on showering him with treats and devildom dog toys.
