CW: When MC gets mistaken as a guy, they get referred to as he/him, but the problem is that there's too many males around the MC.

So, I've decided to color the pronouns blue when it's MC that's being addressed. Just to avoid confusion.

CLARIFICATION: The headmaster, and MC knows that Yuu is from another world, so MC decided to play along and pretend that they're from the same world as Yuu. (The human world where MC came from is mostly similar to the human world that Yuu describes. i.e. landmarks, cultural, knowledge, current trends, anime and manga are all mostly the same.)

REMEMBER: Read this before the chapter.

If you see MC doing something you think you won't do and you decide to complain about it, remember this:

• You act the way you do because of the things that you've gone through in your life.

• MC is the same.

• They experienced a lot of traumatic events and almost lost their lives a fuck-ton of times.

• Because of that, they've changed. They've diverged from being you into the MC that they are now.

• The life you're living now shall be treated as the MC's canonical past.

• Also, because The Obey Me!cast feels bad from all the times you suffered and almost died because of them, they tend to overcompensate you.

• You get dressed in the finest of fabrics, most luxurious jewels, as well as housed and fed with the best things that the three realms have to offer.

• You don't take them for granted, but years of living with that lifestyle had raised your standards to new heights and changed the way that you act towards certain things.

• You're free to make up your own head canons if you don't like mine, also y'all can give me feedback if you want so I can improve my work.

• This story will be set a few years after the canon of the Obey Me games.

Who would've thought that it would be a bad idea to try to trick someone who literally reeks of luxury to live in an old, bout-to-fall-apart dormitory?

Well, certainly not Crowley.

That fact became known when 'The shady looking dorm leader™' and also, the tablet decided to tag along with you, Yuu and Crowley, but then had to help Yuu in holding you back so that you wouldn't beat the ever living crap out of the headmaster the moment he dared to bring y'all in front of this rustic establishment and say "It had charm". (Too many You's)

Oh really? really?? Oh you'll see real charm when I beat you straight into the afterlife you greasy son of a bitc–

*Ehem*

It did not end well.

So instead of that, the headmaster had to temporarily put you and your fellow stranded-in-dis-school-human into the infirmary as your temporary abode and promised to fix the shoddy dorm so that it can safely house people in it. (Grim will appear in the future, dw)

*Que Azul tryna make you stay in Octavinelle and you vehemently declining that offer.*

Also, you're starting to get creeped-out by the floating tablet that keeps following you around and won't stop with taking pictures. there's also the small maniacal giggles coming out of the device.

So there you two are, two people that've been kidnapped by this school's fuckin carriage are now bonding in the infirmary and distracting each other by venting about problems back home. (You two are too wary to be able to sleep properly.)

Like, yes Yuu, I'm in a polyamorous with more than a dozen problematic individuals.

Damn, three assignments due tomorrow all from the same subject? Have you ever tried cheating off of your classmates?

Oh— wait what?! a classmate from biology was caught fucking with a professor in a classroom!? Seriously??

No, I unfortunately no longer have a grasp on the concept of private space and poverty.

Yes, maintaining a relationship with a lot of people at the same time can be hard.

You sigh for the third time this hour, looking at Yuu who's making a "Mom.. I threw up in the carpet... I'm sowwy🥺" expression as they stand beside your bed.

"What happened?"

Yuu winced, feeling embarrassed as they hear you talk to them like a disappointed parent, they had failed to appeal to Crowley about becoming a temporary student of this school and now had to be a janitor/errand kid.

"The headmaster said that I'll be the handy-man of the campus while he searches for a way to get us home..."

You feel a vein in your head throb and your eye start to twitch by of the sheer audacity being shown in front of your face.

You are now feeling the immense urge to hex that bird-bitch.

Satan sat straight in his seat, speaking out to the others in the meeting table.

"I can feel irritation and the urge to curse someone again." He said.

It would've been funny if this was another situation.

"That's definitely from MC, isn't it? You mentioned being half-asleep and feeling MC get agitated through your pact mark, right?" Diavolo asked.

"Yes, at least our pacts are still intact..." Satan nodded.

"Great, we can use this to monitor MC even if they're far away." Lucifer stated.

Countless search-parties and interrogations have already been conducted, but they're still clueless on where you can be or who could've taken you.

Even Barbatos couldn't see what had happened.

They're starting to get agitated, MC..

Jade watched as Azul frantically drafts and redrafts a new plan of his.

It seems that something caught the eye of their housewarden in the ceremony today.

"What could be so eye-catching that you're in such a hurry to obtain it, Azul?" Jade couldn't contain his curiosity and asked.

"It's a new student, Jade." Azul started.

"He possesses such a large amount of magical artifacts in his hands, It's unbelievable! They were all high quality too!"

Jade blinks.

"Don't you have enough magical artifacts around?"

Jade is confusion.

"You don't know it because you weren't there." Azul narrowed his eyes at Jade.

"I first thought those jewelry of his were similar to the ones that you can buy with enough money in annual auctions, but then I realized that it's very likely that those jewelry are customized."

"...How so?"

"So I decided to try and take a closer look, but when I actually got closer and almost touched one of them, I felt a strong thrum of magic that I haven't felt before!"

Oh?

Now that got Jade's attention.

Azul has been exposed to a lot of strong, powerful people and magical artifacts over the years that he and his twin were following this dormleader of theirs and yet there was actually an artifact so strong that he can feel strong waves of magic by just almost touching it?

How curious..... If the magic of the artifact was so strong, why didn't Azul sense it up until he literally almost held it in his hands?

Seems like this year won't be boring, after all..

Ruby: That’s why I’m the MC and you're the side character.

Jaune: So because you have silver eyes you’re special?

Ruby: Yep.

Jaune: Even though I cheated Beacon.

Ruby: Yep.

Jaune: I was bullied.

Ruby: Yep.

Jaune: My partner is dead. And because I let my guard down, Ozpin died, and Oscar had no choice but to come on this journey. You know, because of me.

Ruby: Yep.

Jaune: And because Cinder, who works under Salem killed my partner, I have beef with the main villain and her whole crew.

Ruby: Yeah.

Jaune: Salem, who I have way more in common with than most people, the deemed goddess I’m defying her, just like she did with the brothers over a loved one's death. Are you following me so far?

Ruby: … Yeah…

Jaune: Hazel, who mind you, lost his sister. He lost his sister because of the world Ozpin had created, like I did, with Pyrrha.

Qrow: She had a choice.

Jaune: A few days' choice which turned into minutes when Beacon was attacked. Then discovering how bad the situation is, you know with Salem being immortal, I almost hurt if not killed Oscar, making me at the spur of the moment, just as bad as Hazel. And mind you I was willing to fight you on that.

Ruby: Uh… yeah…

Jaune: Tyrian, has the opposite to my semblance. Wasn’t he more interested in me than you? And you were his target.

Ruby: Mmhmm.

Jaune: Let’s talk about Cinder again. Cinder had two stray kids who followed her. I have Ren and Nora. Neither have parents. Also, we both want power but for different reasons. We even have different views on destiny.

Ruby: Oh damn.

Jaune: Atlas. Oscar did Ironwood not act like how I did in Argus but worse?

Oscar: Yeah he did. Jaune even saw Salem in person before you did.

Yang: So did we. You saw her face to face.

Oscar: I’m Ozpin. What is that supposed to mean?

Ruby: Oscar, not helping.

Jaune: Neo. We both lost our partners. The difference is that I have friends while she has none. The cat, him, and I almost have the same ability except he manipulates your soul or takes it. He might as well have been a devil version of me.

Weiss: O. Dear lord.

Jaune: Watts. … … … You know what no. He-he was no. Like he could have done better, he’s an example of being smart yet making the dumbest choices.

Weiss: True.

In the Twilight

Watts: What?! My decision was understandable.

Ironwood: No. No, they were not.

Penny: Like you could have logically put your two weeks in and left for another kingdom. Or country. Like Vale. Mistral. Anywhere. You could have helped where you could've been needed. Which would have made you better than my father.

Watts: I wasted my life.

Back to Remnant

Ruby: Um….

Jaune: You know what I have to ask this question. What is the moral of the story and how does your character fit into this?

Ruby: Well my-

Jaune: Let me retort. I lied. I was bullied. I had no idea about anything in the hunting world. I needed a teacher. I lost someone important to me. I have beef with the main villains. I train to get stronger to be of use to others.

Ruby: So?

Jaune: Okay. No one believed in me. But I still went to chase my goal. I lost the best thing in my life. I still moved forward. I had to kill someone. Still moved forward. I’m an old man trapped in a boy's body. Still moving forward. Fighting the odds that are stacked against me. I have seven who no one knows about. Yet your family is more interesting.

Ruby: Your point?

Jaune: The moral of the story is that no matter your circumstance you can always be better. Never allow destiny or grief to influence your entire life. No matter what odds that stand before you, you can ultimately change your fate. And no matter the darkness a simple soul can light up the night and unite everyone against a greater evil. Even when the whole world is against you, you are never alone to endure it. If we stand united and look past our differences only then the wor;d would be a better place.

Ruby: Well my mom died at Salem’s hands.

Jaune: And?

Ruby: It's still relevant.

Jaune: You're right. But how many times has your mother been mentioned and you bothered to get information about her?

Yang: I-

Jaune: Bitch shut the fuck up. You were looking for the deadbeat mom more than the mom who stepped up.

Ruby: Well um… um…. Damn. Oh, but I-

Jaune: You weren’t the sword. I may not have known Penny as long as you, but the fact, that I could've saved her proved her death hit harder than Pyrrha's. I’m close to walking in Raven’s path.

Ruby: Shit.

Jaune: And back to your mother. She was a silver-eyed warrior. But Salem is still here. Do silver eyes work on her?

Ruby: Um.

Jaune: Because Salem is still both the brothers' creation. The old humanity. She can't be phased by the black liquid even though everything they touch decays.

Ruby: She's immortal.

Jaune: Yeah but again when Maria told you her story didn't she try using her silver eyes on humans and it didn't work?

Ruby: Cinder.

Jaune: Grimm arm.

Ruby: The hound.

Blake: Silver-eyed person too but only stunned them.

Ruby: Blake.

Blake: What a minute he had animalistic ears. Should I be concerned for my people?

Jaune: Yeah… we’re not getting into that. The point is if you go see Salem and your silver eyes don't work then your mom died for nothing.

Ruby: Oo. Um…

Jaune: And let's get back to the other villains. Besides Emerald, Mercury, and Tyrian, some of them have valid reasons to join Salem.

Ren: Jaune!

Jaune: Ren, your village got destroyed.

Ren: Nevermind.

Me: Hold up. Let me start. With Cinder, a huntsman saw what she was going through and didn't bother to help her. She was alone. The world abandoned her.

Jaune: So Hazel was right. In fact, Raven had a point.

Oscar(Ozpin): Mr. Arc I-

Jaune: Motherfucker Hazel had every right to be angry. Dude shadow missions involve us going with experienced hunters. Yet his sister died and Ruby could’ve died. Shadowing them. Following their lead. Does that not show how bad the hunting system is? Not just that we got hunters who died in the line of duty. Not to mention how some were sexually harassing the girls. And some of them are just plain crazy or assholes. Not to mention Blake, Qrow, and Raven. You let them in. And to make matters worse you chose Pyrrha, a first-year student, to be your maiden.

Oscar(Ozpin): She was my best option.

Jaune: So Glynda wasn't on the table? A high-ranked fourth-year student wasn't on the table? Man, at least you could have chosen Ruby considering she has silver eyes and is a young upcoming prodigy. That would have made her more important. Like Ozpin Ruby off the bat was better than Pyrrha.

Qrow: Hey, I would have stopped that.

Jaune: O, so… it was okay with Pyrrha… but not your niece. I see. Hypocrite.

Qrow: Damn. Set myself up for that.

Jaune: Watts, despite his stupidity, had a point. James would abuse any source of technology just to have some level of control over something. Why did you think he wanted your sister instead of Penny? Why do you think he wanted Amity up as quickly as possible? Why do you think he hacked into Penny? Everything was always about control.

Weiss: Well our lives weren't easy.

Jaune: That I won't deny. Yet we are all still bad people.

Yang: Jaune my mother -

Jaune: Raven and Summer left you. Summer no one cared enough to talk about. Raven doesn't matter at all. Willow waited until her children were teenagers or young adults to start dealing with an abusive father. And Kali… yeah she should have slapped some sense into her daughter.

Weiss: Well your mom doesn't love you.

Jaune: Don't care. Back to Jacque though how does he and James know each other? Why do they have beef with one another? Unless… o. Oh no. Don't tell me. Did James set Jacque up with Willow? And in return, he helps James rise to power. Or did James love Willow but because of his career he couldn't marry her? Could Winter be-

Weiss: Please stop. I do not need those theories in my head.

Jaune: Fine. The point I'm trying to make is… … well how about you explain.

Me: It's crazy how Jaune fits the main character role better than Ruby.

SKYLOR ALSO PLAYS A BIG ROLE IN IT AND I LOVE THAT SM (Most of s1 has been skipped though). Cole is the current love interest, the author can sometimes leave updating for like 4 months lmao, but they have started updating regularly again! One of my all-time favourite fics! I'M CURRENTLY READING IT RN AND I LOVE ITTT

The Master of Wind~ OC

I another one I haven't read for a bit, but let me tell you: I LOVED THIS BOOK WITH A BURNING PASSION OMG. Its also pretty long, with like 900 pages lol. I generally love the concept of a master of wind, more so because I love Morro, but anyways, this book is spectacular. The love interest is Lloyd, and its a bit of a slow burn, but its worth it. Sadly it hasn't been updated for 3 months now, but I am hopeful that the author will update it soon!

Just An Illusion~ Reader Insert

Another short-ish book with under 100 pages, but I really loved this one!! The fic begins at the Tournament of Elements, and I don't think there is a current love interest. But seriously the way I read and reread this book is acc insane 😭 The fic unfortunately has been left for 8 months as I think the author is taking a break, but I'm pretty confident that Just an Illusion will continue!

Stoneheart~ OC

THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. The fic follows the story of an OC, who isn't from Ninjago, and who ends up joining the Ninja. Another MASSIVE book with over 800 pages and chock-full with a bunch of amazing original characters, and you're in for a good ride, trust me! I don't think there is a definite love interest, but it does seem to be leaning towards a certain character hehe (and no its not Cole unfortunately). Its being updated regularly-ish and I promise you will NOT regret reading it!

The Infinite Series~ Reader Insert

I don't remember if there was a love interest or not but I do remember that the mc's personal story is really cool and so so creative! Book 1 had around 400 words and book 2 has like 300, however it hasn't been updated in 7 months 💔 still worth the read!

Though the book has just over 100 pages, there aren't many chapters, and I don't think it's past s1 yet. Its still a good read, however, and I think a lot of you guys would like it!

The Colour of Hope & The Race Against Time~ OC

THIS FIC IS EPIC. ITS AMAZING. It follows the story of a girl who becomes a target for a mysterious gang, and ends up in the care and protection of none other than the Ninja! (The Colour of Hope takes place between Day of the Departed and s7). The love interest is Cole, and the writing as absolutely phenomenal! This is a series, and the first book is linked above. The next book has only recently been made, so I have the upmost confidence that it'll be regularly updated, since the first one was too! Book 1 had around 250 pages I think. I PROMISE. You will wanna read it.

The Indigo and Black Series~ OC(s)

(Sorry Kailor fans 😭) The last book was updated around 6 months ago, but I did some digging and turns out the authors are still working on the next book, so I hope it comes out soon!

A short book with under 100 pages, but it is also going through a rewrite if I recall. No definite love interest, but there is an implied one (once again, *sigh* it isn't Cole). The love interest is Cole, and honestly can I just say, this book was written SO WELL. Like I wish I could write like that 😭😭

When They Are Self Aware [IkeVamp Edition]

(After reading many tumblr posts about sagau and sahsrau, I pondered...)

Warnings: Long, somewhat ooc (some of these are based of my own impression towards them after looking through posts related to them), 4th-wall destroyed, grammars

What happens when the suitors of Ikemen Vampire become self aware that they are game characters?

That question can lead to two possible answers: it's either chaos or wonder.

For now, it's wonder.

Think about it. They are characters based off of existing historical figures from different eras, right? Obviously, this kind of "technology" will baffle them slightly. Because this kind of thing wasn't even really a thing in their prime. The Protagonist serves as your eyes to see everyone. The residents also take notice of this. Because, there's someone out there?? Outside this world observing him?? Some being he didn't know?? And they care for him too (judging from how he sometimes heard your quiet sobbing and desperate pleas, telling him to be aware that despite everything, there are people who care for him) ???? But why? He wondered, why? He don't know who or what is this being that is watching him. Certainly, it wasn't God.

But soon, everyone followed. Jean is no longer the only one who become aware of the presence of this being. One by one, the residents of the mansion followed suit.

Sometimes, whenever Vincent paint sunflowers, everything feels much brighter. He felt some sort of giddiness whenever he draw beautiful scenes. He felt like someone is watching him painting. But this feeling... it didn't frighten him. Rather, he was content. It almost felt like he's a child drawing something while a relative or a parent watching with fond eyes. Sometimes, he swore he heard "I wonder what kind of painting he's making" or "I'm sure his painting is beautiful like the real deal. Too bad they don't show a picture of his paintings".

It's nice that whoever or whatever says this compliments his painting. But real deal? Does this mean someone has painted what he painted before? If so, who? Vincent cannot help but wanting to meet whoever this person is and told them that he wanted to give them credit for the original (poor guy doesn't even know the person you're talking about is the real life counter part of himself).

Theo often hears soothing whispers in his dreams. Though he sometimes had a nightmare about how his brother died in his arms, these days they are followed by someone (or something) comforting him. Telling him that he's already good enough of a brother. And Vincent will still and always love him. But of course he prefer not to tell anyone about this, including Vincent. He didn't think it was necessary.

But, Theo often felt the same presence around Vincent. Whenever he accompanied him to buy art supplies or helping him with the next exhibition, he felt someone or something watching both of them with benevolence. Like a guardian angel, perhaps. Pair of eyes looking at them with fondness whenever they are together in any occasion. Perhaps there is indeed someone out there that care for them both.

Let's face it, Arthur may or may not put up some theories on the wall of his room at first.

He began to note down these weird feeling of being watched. He will be intrigued. No matter where he looked at, this presence were nowhere near him. Or at least, not physically. But how come their presence lingers despite having no physical appearance? Did they use some sort of invisibility cloak? Or maybe this being is like a fairy, like the ones he believes in?

He may or may not use this as an inspiration for his next story

Though whenever he writes his next manuscript, the presence comes off even stronger. A pair of eyes ogling on him. Arthur felt like he was back in those days where he's working on his assignment as a student while being supervised by one of his professors. But it's different. There's a bit of pity in these invisible pair of eyes. But why did this being pity him for writing? What part of him is pitiable?

Comte knew.

Nobody need to tell him about it. He already sensed this presence–your presence–that watches him and the residents. He have seen many unusual things, especially for someone who have lived for centuries.

Those nights he spent by looking at the sky, his golden lances glances specifically at the moon. Thinking that perhaps the celestial object in the sky could serve as your other pair of eyes aside from the woman who came through the door that was supposed to serve as your "vessel".

He longed for this presence. He longed for you. He felt all of your emotions whenever and wherever he is. Sometimes he felt happiness, bashfulness and sorrow. Like Arthur, he wondered what part of him that you pity. But he's content nonetheless. After all, he knows that there is someone out there who think of him.

He never stops being curious, despite being awkward and socially shy. He's a scientist, a physician. Scientists ought to be curious of their surroundings.

While your (invisible) presence slightly scares him at first, he wondered where you are. If you're not here, then how are you watching him? From where are you watching him? Could it be that there's another world out there beyond his reach? Beyond the boundaries of this world he currently settles in? Was the theory of the existence of parallel universe gain its fame from now on?

He'll never know unless he finally got to meet you. Science has no boundaries, right?

When Sebastian realized this for the first time, he is... unsure how to feel. Considering that he came from the year where advanced technology is still in research and work in progress overall. Could this be the so called simulated world? Like the ones in those fictional stories? But that's too advanced! No way a human can replicate this kind of experience on such a device! Even if they did, what kind of device is it?

Sometimes he heard your adoring whispers of how he is such a big history geek. It kind of caught him off guard. Getting praised by the residents is more than enough to give him a heart attack but when you did it? He might as well lay down on a sofa for a while to process this newfound sense of content.

Like Comte, Vlad is also aware of this.

To think that there is a world out there, and you living on it. Vlad would definitely be content whenever you log in to the game. To the point he will frequently appear in your check-in screen. Saying things of how he is so happy to see you and your presence always made his day.

He also felt your eyes looking at him whenever he goes on to his usual routine. And you wouldn't believe how giddy it made him feel. He felt like a kid again.

Vlad will also look at the moon whenever he think of you. Once again, like Comte, he believed that the moon in the world he lives in serves as your other pair of eyes to see what's going on in this world. If you were out there watching him, the world you lived in must be a peaceful one. Since he sometimes heard your soft giggles in his dream.

This time, he will find a way to see you. Maybe he could borrow Comte's door for a while.

Or maybe he can... find a way to tinker with the game's mechanics to communicate with you.

Napoleon doesn't really think much about the existence of other worlds. Until now.

He once said that he didn't really care of what people think of him. Or how the books described him. He's just a man right in front of you. In front of your screen, that is. Because that's what he told you. And surprisingly, Isaac told him that sometimes he experiences the same thing.

The former Emperor may look calm on the outside. Meanwhile, he began to bury his face on the pillow as he recalled that day.

When Dazai blanked out in the rain, he swore he heard an echo of you calling his name. His eyes blinked as more raindrops falling to his skin. Soaking every inch of his clothing wet. His eyes looked around, wondering where your voice came from before looking back to the cloudy sky once again.

When the sound of rain masked any other noises in his surroundings, your voice went through to him. Your voice sound so sad. He thought, Why do you sound so sad? Who are you feeling sad for?

Yet he yearned for your voice. He sometimes wished it will be raining the next day. Or the next month. All because he felt like your voice is much clearer when it's raining. Sometimes he sits so close to the window when it's raining, eyes looking into the distance, and face looking solemn.

The thought of lovers limited by otherworldly boundaries is such an interesting concept for Shakespeare. It's like Romeo and Juliet but... much better? And with a bit of magic?? No one is dying except that they are now pining for eternity without resolution??

Better be prepared of extra letters you will receive. Sometimes it came from your in-game mailbox. You might want to read it, because it's mostly collection of poem dedicated for you, his so-called otherworldly muse. So many metaphors and shakespearean terms, you might need an expert to help you translate them. Unless you have an experience in arts of theatrics.

Shakespeare will not hesitate to write this down as his new play. About a man who fell in love with a woman who lives far away. And the only thing that could keep them connected was the whispers in the wind. As for how the tale will end, he might need to think about it later. He knew that many of his fans will be a little surprised in this sudden turn of his style. But, hey, he's eager to see you beyond the screen as you watch him directing his play.

OCTOBER READS 📚

Another productive reading month for me! Manhua/Manhwa binge again and for those who are interested in what titles I tried, then this is the post for you. I don’t know what the next months will bring but I wanna get back to reading novels… we will see how that goes. for now, I just feel thankful that these works are out in the world for people to enjoy ^^

• The Tyrant Prince’s Last Promise ( Chapter 74 ; Ongoing )

Adapted from the novel, “the wife is first” so I see why there are alot of people following the manhua. Jing Shao ( MC ) is a prince who is good at battles and was made to marry a male concubine Han ( ML ). He didn’t treat him well for years but Han stayed by his side even if he was sentenced to death and was accused of so many things. Right before they died, he promised to treat Han better.

So his wish gets granted and he goes back to their wedding night. Then the whole story focuses on their relationship and how Jing Shao pays his dues and tries to be the best husband for Han. He also tries to make different decisions to prevent him from falling from grace like before. This story is just so fluffy and sweet <3 and i love their chibi versions! ☺️☺️☺️ I might read the novel to see where it goes but i have to say it’s a standard trope — and i will never get tired of it.

Guilty Affection ( Chapter 47 ; Ongoing )

Esper/Guide trope but this one is more problematic. LOL. The MC, Han Yoonjae is an undocumented Esper and living his life as a normal person. There is some mystery from his past because you can tell that he is strong but decided to leave his life as an Esper. Then here comes the ML, Cha Minhyung. A popular & strong guide who comes to his life and offers to be his guide and make his life better. These two have a shared past and the story tries to uncover that. Also what will happen to Yoonjae and his power. I really like his power, and I understand why he will be someone that everyone will want to control. The relationship between them is not really the “romance” type but more co-dependence and lots of smut.

Crushing Jade & Catching Pearls Chapter 51 ; Ongoing

This one is very unique, I have never read something with this plot. It is modern era, but the MC/ML both work as apprentices for an old art of sculpting. Tho the ML ( Ding Hanbai ) is much older and is more accomplished in the field. It’s really more of the relationship between the MC & ML and less “romance” so far. I feel like some people will find it boring, but there is something about it that draws me to it. and it doesn’t hurt that the art is pretty. Ding Hanbai starts off as an asshole who bullies the MC Ji Zhenzhu — but then they slowly become closer. The MC who is the goodest boy with puppy energy melts Ding Hanbai’s heart 💕

No arguing with Mr.Mo Chapter 71 ; Ongoing

The trope of Mr. Cold hearted CEO who is actually a simp for the MC is not new and I usually like it — I often root for the MC and hope they get together. But in this one, I find myself liking the ML ( Mr.Mo ) waaaay more than the MC. To the point that I don’t think the MC deserves Mr.Mo at all. I get that Xiao Nuo have some trauma and baggage of his own but his drama over nothing just irritates me. Mr.Mo is straightforward and clear with his intentions, but MC takes advantage of him, willingly or not, is not my cup of tea.

I won’t be continuing on, or if i do, maybe it’s to see Mr. Mo’s panels.

Hard Boiled Love Chapter 93 ; Ongoing

I only finished up until Chapter 40 cause I felt like there is nothing else for me as a reader to see, plot-wise. I could be wrong but maybe I will pick it up again when i’m in the mood. This is popular, and i understand why, the trope is catchy : Rich kid and his Bodyguard, then add BDSM into the mix. Boom! There is just no way that people will not click and read. It is a good read and enjoyable but I wasn’t in the headspace for that type of smut, the interaction of the MC/ML tho are sweet!!!! 💕

What captured me tho is the ML. Hwayoung Yoon. He is a lovable psychopath. He gave off so much Hisoka vibes ( from the anime hunterxhunter if you didn’t know ) and this type of character would do so well if done in live action. How he seems to be this sweet boy that his family dotes on but is secretly a sadistic bastard. I mean, look at him as a kid:

A master manipulator.

The MC too, Gyuwon, is well written. He is an ex mercenary who really wants to be someone’s sub ( in a sense ) but he doesn’t think that will happen because of how he looks. People have expectations of how he should be but lo and behold, he meets the fucked up Hwayoung. 😂😂😂 it’s more light and funny considering the subject — they could make the plot really dark, so i’m glad they didn’t.

Campus Trap Chapter 24; Ongoing

AHHHHHHHHHH! My new favorite. The omegaverse hoe in me is screaming! 🤍 too bad there are only a few chapters out. I honestly want to read the novel which is already completed but i’m still trying to figure out how to navigate korean sites. The plot of the story may seem dramatic to some, because it’s all about the MC (Chaewoo) who is an Omega and trying to make ends meet. He was once this kid who lived a pampered life but things changed and now he is a struggling student. One day, his Uncle, told him about the concept of a reset partner, which is kinda like a surrogate. So a dominant omega like him will be a surrogate to a rich dominant Alpha. He agrees and finds out that the Alpha is someone he goes to school with — Mister popular, Euigeon. It doesn’t help he doesn’t like the guy and Chaewoo is even jealous of his “success” cause he feels like he will be the same way if unfortunate events didn’t happen to him.

I LOVE IT. I LOVE THEM. The campus setting and the two being music students is also a bonus, it’s only beginning to be explored and I wanna see more. They have great chemistry and the way I squealed during the car scene. 😱😱😱 it’s also the type of story where I can’t wait for the ML to fall for the MC. I’m reading about Euigeon being this arrogant bitch to Chaewoo and i’m like— can’t wait to see you fall head over heels and regret your actions. It’s nothing abusive, if anything, I feel like his actions are reasonable cause he doesn’t want to make their relationship complicated. It’s supposed to be a business transaction. I wanna know more about ML too cause i’m sure he has so many issues that caused him to be this way. I have spoiled myself a by reading comments on the novel but i will surely keep an eye out on this till it’s completion.

Miss you, Lucifer 15 chapters ; Completed

A short Manhwa that is full of uwu and love! 🥹🥹🥹

If you want something to lift your mood up then this is the best pick. Honestly! It had everything: romance, comedy, angst and some plot in there even if it’s only 15 chapters. The premise is an “idol” from a boy group that’s not popular x A-list actor pairing. I don’t wanna spoil too much cause it’s better to just dive into it, and like i said, it’s not that long.

Business as Unusual 15 Chapters ; Completed

Another short one that I enjoyed. 💕

Tho i’m not a believer of getting back together with your ex. Lol. That’s the story here. MC/ML were a thing back in college and because of a misunderstanding they “broke up”. Years later, they meet again as office mates and rekindle their romance. I’m happy for the characters because they had a second chance at love and are now at a better place to stay together.

Considering the length of this, there was one scene that really stuck with me. The two are walking on the street late at night and ML is chasing the MC, he wants to talk but the MC won’t listen so he shouts:

“HEY! MY FIRST LOVE KIM MINJUN!” 🗣️🗣️🗣️

It’s so funny considering why it was said, to get someone’s attention — but also so romantic. It is like a scene in a k-drama.

Tied To You 64 Chapters ; Completed

I feel so lucky that I found this title in it’s completion cause i would absolutely go nuts if I had to wait, to find out what’s gonna happen next. As soon as I started, I couldn’t stop and took me 5 hours to finish the whole thing. So worth it. This kind of Manhwa is the reason why I keep reading, hoping that I will find something like this. It’s really something special. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

the synopsis is as follows:

It’s only sleeping together while holding hands, nothing else. That’s what Shin Wooseo tells himself when a red ring that ties a person to their soulmate appears on his finger one day. Once two people get tied by the ring, they cannot fall asleep unless they’re physically together. However, his destined partner isn’t his long-term friend and secret crush, Kang Jiseok, but rather his older brother, Kang Jigeon! And so starts the tragedy of loving one brother but having to share beds with the other. Although, it might not entirely be a tragedy, as Kang Jigeon doesn’t seem so disappointed about being tied to his younger brother’s best friend…

I don’t usually go for love triangle tropes, but this one is not really that kind of love triangle. The strength of this Manhwa is the storytelling. Every panel & interactions served a purpose. As a reader, you are pulled in and can’t help but want to know more. I also appreciated that we can see the perspectives of 3 different people, but moreso on the MC/ML. I liked the concept of “love” that was portrayed too — it’s something that you have to work and fight for. It’s a conscious choice and not all sweet gestures.

Now i wanna spotlight the ML, KANG JIGEON 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 If I was to rank my fave MLs from all the stuff I read, he would easily be in the Top 10. He is manipulative but in the best way because all he does is for Wooseo to pay more attention to him. I have to say that he ultimately sets up the “scene” but most of the time the choice is still with Wooseo. His devotion is very real and his approach to fighting for his love is ( to me personally ) admirable! GO GET YOUR BOY! I’m not even mad at him.

I’ve been wanting to read a character like him, a chaotic good if you will, and that’s probably why this made such an impact on me. It was hilarious seeing the comments of readers in the early chapters being sus about Jigeon and thinking he is gonna be an asshole ML. In the middle, they were confused whether to love or hate him and the schemes. Towards the end, everyone was cheering for Jigeon and applauding him. Lol. I guess he was successful in making the readers fall in love too. ❤️

The King and Me Chapter 36; Ongoing

The story is very unique, atleast to me, cause I haven’t read anything set in Ancient Egypt + Time travel. There is also some heavy plot aside from the romance and every character here is just beautiful and badass!!!! The first few chapters broke my heart. I swear. It was effective in setting up the MC’s quest and why he is so stubborn when he goes back in time. What he is after is so important. 💪🏼

I adore the MC (Zhang Li)!!! He is so smart and determined to find out the truth about his “Rocky” and the tyrant king. His circumstances are not the best, but he tries to adapt and is not some love sick fool. Even if the main reason that he is there is because of love. This story is still in it’s early stages and I feel like it could easily go up to 150++ chapters because of the plot and well, the progression of MC/ML relationship. It’s also a slowburn so if that’s your thing, you would enjoy this.

Manhattan Romance Chapter 40; Ongoing

This reads like the kind of novel set in a specific city, in this case, NY, and two people meet each other and fall in love. Of course there are challenges and issues between the characters and their environment but the central story is their relationship. I think people who will read this would want to be the MC (Hyeon), in a way, all because of how much the ML (Luwan) dotes on him. Hyeon has his own issues and he is a precious bean that is too good for this world! I’m so happy that Luwan is the person who “caught” him and not some toxic shit. Let them live in their penthouse and be happy, Let Hyeon paint more masterpieces and the two of them to travel the world. ❤️

Ordinary life of a Universal Guide Chapter 61; Completed

Because i’m a sucker for esper/guide universe I had to pick it up. There is really nothing “special” with the plot, it’s the usual for the trope. My comments sounds like i hated it or something lol but the truth is — it’s alright. I picked this up after reading really good ones ( tied to you & the king and me ) so this was an in between read. I can’t always be that lucky.

The Third Ending Chapter 67; Completed

OMG how do I even begin to describe this perfection. I’ve been seeing this on other people’s list but for some reason I kept putting it off. Funny how I always manage to “start” reading something really good just before bedtime — which delays the “sleeping” I should be doing 😂😂😂

First of all, I love the art. It reminds me of Omega Complex that was so pretty so that helped a lot. 🫶🏼

Synopsis:

Suh Yoonseul has had life easy—everyone likes him, he’s good at his job, basically everything has always worked out as smooth as butter. However, there’s something that brings all of his good luck down, and it’s the infrequent dreams he has of Kang Joon. Who knew that rejecting a guy once would hang so heavy on your life? To make things worse, after he runs into Joon the dreams keep on coming daily. At his wit’s end, Yoonseul takes some advice from a friend so that he can free himself from this jinx. It’s simple. Make Kang Joon think that he’s a nice person. That can’t be hard, right?

Yoonseul is one of my favorite MCs. He’s a chronic people pleaser and has this perfect facade that he presents to everyone. So when he remembers being mean ( showing his true self ) back in high school to someone who confessed to him — he can’t let it go. It was so fun to see him suffer when it comes to winning Joonie over ( AHHHHHH Joonie is the most precious and can do no wrong!!! ) because tbh his intentions weren’t good. He is selfish. The entire season 1 was such a treat. Seeing their relationship progress and I— I don’t wanna spoil anymore but this could easily be a kdrama. There was that scene in the snow. AHHHHH! I was screaming while reading it! Lol. Season 2 is sweeter and more on fluff, by that time, you’re already so invested on them that you don’t care about any plot. Personally, what I loved about this is their mutual obsession towards each other. I’m a fan of that. I like tropes that are about “fated pairs” or something similar.

Between the Lines Chapter 20 ; ongoing

Not gonna say too much about this and I encourage people to wait for more chapters but it has a solid start. The MC/ML are both likable. Especially the MC. The premise is also hilarious, cause MC is a bl writer who is having a writer’s block and needs an inspiration for his protagonist. Here comes ML, who acts like Mr.Perfect ( but he isn’t ) and inspires him. There is so much more going on here that I feel like will be explored more as the story progresses so i’ll definitely come back to it.

Necromancer Survival 79 chapters ; 2 seasons completed and s3 is TBA

I had no idea what was in store for me when I decided to pick this up. I have a thing for necromancers and this one has the whole “dungeons” concept to it so I was down. But like — this probably ruined every other story for me. In a good way. Now I want a plot-heavy type of story with the romance as a bonus only. All I’ve been reading so are heavy on the romance & relationship, this has that element too but you get really invested with the plot.

Synopsis:

When the weak and unconfident Choi Yikyung first found out that he was a user, he thought he had finally hit the jackpot. In Yikyung’s mind, Necromancy seemed like the ultimate mix of cool and interesting. Back then, he had no idea that the Necromancer class was the weakest of them all! But as Yikyung enters the newly reopened Tower of Spirits in search of enhancement materials, he is sucked into a mysterious area of the dungeon where he encounters a frightening corpse. “Ding!” A quest window pops up, and it says… “You have made a pact with Seo Dawon, a vengeful spirit.” When tackling quests, it doesn’t hurt to have a companion or two, especially if one of them is the spirit of an ultra powerful and handsome young man. After all, “it’s dangerous to go alone”!

Don’t let the art fool you. It’s not some bright and shiny story. I made the mistake of thinking it’s gonna be some g rated adventure story lol It’s literally a necromancer whose goal is to make a master/slave pact with all the members of a dead team. He has to fulfill their wishes and help them get their revenge— which means killing a lot of people. It comes with a price, because every summoning is making him weaker in some aspects. Also no one knows what the true power of a necromancer is so whatever it is he’s doing — they don’t know what will happen to him in the long run. I freakin love the concept and how it’s mixed in with the romance. Is Seo Dawon only attracted to Yikyung because he is his master or are these real feelings? How will this relationship even work when one of them is Dead? A huge bonus too are how likable the other characters are. Especially Jung Garam!!! 🫶🏼

I hope the Manhwa continues cause I wanna see them get that revenge! 💪🏼 I wanna know too if Yikyung’s power will allow him to resurrect people and if so, what’s the payment?

I see lots of comments that say this adaptation does not live up to the novel & source material. Which i get it — a Manhwa will have restrictions, especially on the themes. The novels seems more gruesome and explicit ( not the sexual kind ) which usually has to be toned down for a Manhwa to get a license. Plus from what I can tell, the Novel is like 500 chapters ++ with a concept so niche and is for a specific type of reader. So yeah… I’m not sure if I will pick up the novel. I don’t have that urge yet, tho I am very interested in the censored scenes and if it’s really as dark as people are saying it is. I have a feeling it’s right up my alley. && I read some comments that Yikyung gets more dangerous as the story progresses ( getting corrupted by the summoning and the practice of necromancy ). I’m very curious! 👀

Black Mirror Chapter 64 ; Completed

This is the perfect spooky + sexy read for the season we’re in right now. From the first page down to the end, I can’t stop reading and wanting to know what happens next. It perfectly captures that eerie feeling, even if there are a lot of explicit scenes, it’s still there. The author really planned this well and the artist perfectly executed it. I don’t explain more because it’s best to go into this blind and experience the story for yourself. Highly recommend ✨✨

Domestic Dread (Visual Novel)

Genre: Horror/Mystery

Dang, it's pretty cool to see epykslion make a game since I've only seen him play yandere (and horror) vns most of the time, but here we are! Domestic Dread is made for the #72HourMurderboyMayhem so currently it's in a demo state, but it does have a moment where you can bake cookies with the main guy, so that's always fun. It has an air of mystery to it that makes it pretty exciting. You can learn about it more here at @domesticdread.

Vinny is the default name for the MC so I will be referring to them as such.

The story starts out with Vinny waking up in a bed. Unable to remember who they are or what they are doing here, they end up freaking out when they realized that they're in a cabin above the mountains. A man they don't recognize comes to see them, worried about their condition, and introduces himself as Marcelo. He explains that Vinny's boyfriend, Brandon Cooragain was the one who almost got them killed, then explaining how much of a jerk he was. He gets Vinny to follow him to the living room where we see Brandon, beat up and tied up on the floor. He tries to get Vinny to kill Brandon, but they refuse, causing Marcelo to get angry. He calms down and proceeds to leave as he has something he has to do first, telling Vinny to clear their mind before deciding what to do next.

If Vinny decides to follow Marcelo, we get to see Marcelo taking out burnt cookies. Regardless of if Vinny tries to eat them or tries to throw them away, Marcelo apologizes for his outburst and bring them back to the living room.

If Vinny decides to check the room, they will find a journal detailing their past, which reveals that Marcelo was telling the truth about Vinny complaining about how much of a jerk Brandon was. However, they also realize a lot of their complaints were pretty menial and can't seem to believe that they would want to kill Brandon over something so insignificant.

If Vinny decides to check in the bedroom where they woke up, they'll find a scrapbook with Brandon and Vinny together hanging out. We find out that Brandon was about to marry Vinny before the incident happens, which makes Vinny question about what's actually going on.

When Marcelo comes back, it's time to make a decision.

If Vinny decides to kill Brandon, they will stab him repeatedly with the knife, causing him to wake up and scream as he dies. Marcelo comforts Vinny afterwards as they're still in shock after killing Brandon.

If Vinny refuses, then Marcelo will kill Brandon in front of them. Marcelo reprimands Vinny for always choosing others before themselves, with Marcelo having to fix everything afterwards. He tells Vinny that he won't stand for this and will make the decisions for them.

If Vinny remembers after reading the scrapbook, then refuses to let anything happen to Brandon or Marcelo. Vinny is able to prevent Marcelo from stabbing Brandon.

Starting out, it's really cool to be able to see a mystery like this unfold for us since even with the pieces of finding out that Vinny has been complaining about Brandon and finding the scrapbook of Vinny and Brandon, it's not completely clear on what Vinny felt for Brandon, but it is implied that it's not nearly as bad as Marcelo makes it out to be. Still though, there is a lot of contradictory evidence on what Vinny actually feels for Brandon, though it is noted that Marcelo's reasoning on why he might be helping VInny carry out what's happening isn't necessarily a lie, but something that has been built up for a while, as noted by the notebook filled with complaints that VInny had. Still though, like Vinny noted, a lot of the complaints were very small offenses that shouldn't amount to Brandon dying. So either Vinny was a very petty person or Marcelo is blowing things out of proportion. Or it might be a secret third thing! Who knows.

It's pretty obvious that Marcelo is likely using Vinny's amnesia as a way to get rid of Brandon, though it's likely just to pull through from before Vinny lost their memory, since it does mention that the two end up going in the mountains somewhere. Its kind of cute (?) that Marcelo ends up trying to make cookies for Vinny before they woke up though it does seem pretty nonchalant considering that Vinny kind of just lost their memories and could possibly have sustained brain damage or just have never woken up but I guess it could be just something that Marcelo is just trying to take care of. That being said there's still a high probability that Marcelo somehow convinced Vinny to get rid of Brandon in some capacity and is now using the amnesia to go through with it, either with Vinny killing him themselves or Marcelo killing him Either way, the three of them are stuck on a cabin on top of the woods so they're basically in self confinement.

Overall though, while a short demo, a pretty interesting premise. I'm curious to see where this will all lead up to and what Vinny as a person was, and what their relationship between Marcelo and Brandon were.

Why YOU should watch Legend of Lin Ye

If you're a SVSSS fan, here's a run-down:

Is Xian Zun Whitewashed Today? / Legend of Lin Ye is basically a Scum Villain's Self Saving System drama adaptation. A guy reads a webnovel, hates the ending and gets transported into the story to "fix" said ending. He becomes the story's "villain", aka an immortal master, who is also the main character's teacher. Oh, the main character is also a demon-thing. The guy gets points each time the MC falls more in love with him. LoLY (both seasons) is around 2.5 hours long in total.

Now that you've seen the summary, here are VISUALS where you can see the similarities:

and MANY more! Yes, even the System is there, and she talks a lot more! Original A-Ye and Bingge both torture and kill their original teachers. A very weird attempt harem is also there, and, just like Binghe, A-Ye doesn't want it, either. The 5 (actually 2) year gap between Binghe falling into the abyss and meeting SQQ again is actually 10 YEARS! in Legend of Lin Ye (yes, A-Ye also falls into the abyss). A-Ye doesn't give Xian Zun his blood, but he does give him a BUNNY! S.A. is not a topic in LoLY. A-Ye is just as jealous as Binghe. Xian Zun is allowed to be a lot more OOC (there's also like a points shop). Xian Zun is not scared of A-Ye (A-Ye wishes he was, bc he annoys him lol). XZ & A-Ye don't get stuffed in a coffin, but they do get stuffed in a human-sized bird cage. XZ does, at one point, have a nightmare about original Wu Ye killing him. Xian Zun is pretty good at not self-destructing. Xian Zun and SQQ both have fans, yes.

Was Ishmael always your favorite from day one, or did Canto 5 swing things in her direction?

So, she wasn't like, my favorite favorite day 1, but I did have a higher opinion of her compared to the rest of the cast (barring Ryoshu and Sinclair as food name oomf was making propaganda about them like a madman), her initial demeanor also gained her extra points because I generally gravitate towards characters that Actually Respect The MC/PC i won't say no to unhinged characters can we at least pretend to be civil during work hours and not treat me like a dog? It makes me sad :(

And then Canto V dropped.

Normally, this wouldn't be. That Big of a deal, if it was in literally any other position I'd just go "oh cool, so that's what happened" and moved on.

Problem: there was probably at least 20 different sleeper agents in my brain. And all of them involved Azur Lane

(Context for confused LCB moots: Azur Lane is Arknights' weirder, hornier cousin set somewhere in a WW2-adjacent period where all of your units are warships given human form known as Shipgirls (official term: KAN-SEN) and you fight against a robotic menace known as the Sirens)

I had this like, entire ramble I wanted to go off on but at some point I didn't know where to take it lmao, but the basic idea is the following:

I got into Azur Lane last year because of spite and (eldritch-ish) pirates (Hello Royal Fortune!)

Got dragged into lore rabbit hole

Got convinced to read eldritch apocalypse fanfiction of Azur Lane (Whispers of Saturn)

Loved the fanfic a lot, started making Pirate shipgirl ocs based off the fic's concept (eldritch creachurr)

First iteration of Whaleship Essex created; whale-like mermaid-siren figure who has albinism and is a little Too trigger happy with whale murder

Made her look like Ishmael LCB because haha funny reference

Devs went fuckshit crazy with the anniversary event; Marco Polo was raining the wrath of God (who, to the surprise of absolutely nobody, was a false god), the god in question was fucking up the world with a weird white membrane (which, now that I think about it, kinda acted like pallidification), the french were getting back together, everything is great

I try to add the false god(s) into the lore timeline of my Azur Lane shit, cue updates happening to Whaleship Essex where she's the only survivor of her group and knows that someone else also survived but blames them for not being able to Do Something about it

New Pirate event happens

Devs stole 2 of my OCs and made them canon (hi, Hind; hi, Galley) and they also happen to be close to Whaleship Essex while they were my OCs

I work around what the Devs have given me and decide that they're in a state of kinda died-but-not-really (long story)

(Note that I came up with all this oc stuff around like. November or something.)

Overall my hype for The Sea™ and eldritch horrors have reached an all time high

Canto V releases; I learn about it while trying to make a Limbus AU for Murder Drones

I decide to check it out because. Water.

Comte's Ghost Mansion (IkeVamp; Luigi's Mansion AU) Part 1

a/n: Heavily (more like, entirely) inspired by @scummy-writes's playthrough of Luigi's Mansion. 'Twas a lot of fun merging the wackiness of that game with the IkeVamp universe! You woke up in a dark endless abyss with a headache.

"Where...am I?"

You were not sure how long you were out for, but it must have been a long time.

Last you remembered, you were walking around the Louvre museum in the daytime. A handsome man in a three-piece tailored suit had graciously retrieved your earring from the ground, only to drop and forgot his own handkerchief.

You, wanting nothing more than to return the favor, sought to return it to him. Your quest led you to a secluded section of the museum, barren of any foot traffic, and past a set of large double doors that appeared, at the time, as part of the museum experience.

In hindsight, the dwindling number of visitors around you should have alerted you to think otherwise.

Lightning flashed and the hallway blinked in view, like a snapshot captured with a camera shutter. Thunder cracked once, twice, forcing you out of memory lane and back into the present.

In the split-second that you saw the hallway, a line of tall arched windows stood to your left and closed wooden doors to your right. A high-backed chair was stationed between each door, and a framed picture hung above it. A wall blocked the path at one end and extended into darkness in the other. So, not an endless abyss. But it was not the Louvre museum, either.

Slowly, hesitantly, you took a step forward, and another, and then another, keeping your eyes peeled for any signs of an exit. A door creaked nearby.

You scrambled to hide behind the nearest curtains, but you were caught by two firm hands. Your heart lurched in your throat. You turned around to face your assailant, and a second round of lightning gave you a chance to get a good look. It was a young man with grayish hair swept to one side, his eyes narrow and inquisitive.

"Who are you, and how did you get in here?" He asked, though he did not wait for a response. "Doesn't matter, let's get you out before the others notice."

You followed him through the maze of hallways, each turn taking you down an identical path. It was a wonder that your guide could tell heads from tails in the darkness.

"Watch your step," he called out as the two of you descended a set of grand stairs.

Just when you thought you reached the bottom, you were met with more stairs. Blood pumped in your ears as you focused on getting out of here, one step at a time. You sighed in relief when the first sliver of light peeked through the grand double doors at the opposite end of what, you assumed, was the foyer.

Once outside, you gawked at the building you just escaped. It was a three-story mansion. Grapevines crept around and across the walls and into some open windows. Dark clouds loomed over the estate, but the rain died down into a drizzle.

"Don't fall behind, now!" Your guide called out from the garden up ahead. Rather than continue straight ahead and out the gate, he took a turn going behind the mansion. You stared at the open gate, contemplating your chance of survival. Feeling unsafe venturing out into the unknown, you kept up pace with him along a narrow cobblestone path.

He stopped abruptly, causing you to bump into his back, and asked, "Where did you say you were from?"

You huffed and said, "If you would've let me speak the first time..." You explained your situation to him, and he furrowed his brows. You then barraged him with your own set of questions. Rather than answer any of them, he turned on his heel and talked on the way.

He introduced himself as Sebastian. He woke up in a similar way to what you had described a few years prior.

“I’m sorry, did you say years?” You gaped. What hope did you have of returning home if he had not done so yet?

He continued. "I came face to face with the head of this mansion, a French nobleman who goes by the title, Le Comte de Saint-Germain. He gave me an offer I could not refuse, and so I serve the mansion as its butler."

He stopped in front of a quaint wooden garden shack.

Facing you, he wore a wry smile as he said, "I would like to consider myself lucky, as I haven't seen another human in quite some time. But you, I'm afraid, are out of luck to end up here."

Your eyes shifted. "What do you mean by that?"

"Wait here."

He ducked inside and came out with a backpack that looked an awful lot like a vacuum cleaner. The vacuum tube in his hands only further confirmed your suspicions.

He reminded you of a ghostbuster.

"Unfortunately, I don't know how to get you home. But what I can offer is a means to defend yourself for the night.

"Defend myself?" You echoed. "Against what?"

That was how you ended up back inside the mansion, carrying Sebastian's 'Poltergust 1899' (as he proudly called it) on your back, alongside an oil lamp in hand and an item pouch around your shoulder.

What’s the pouch for? You may be wondering.

After much debate with the butler, you agreed to retrieve "items of interest" for him if he promised to investigate a means of getting you back home. His final remark was to avoid disturbing the mansion's esteemed residents and, contrarily, to report back any interesting behavior you encounter, seemingly of said residents.

The main entrance door creaked open. The mansion's foyer was bedecked with a carpeted floor that stretched up its wide central staircase. White Ionic columns lined the sides. At the top of the stairs, bright moonlight shone through, enveloping the room in a bluish hue.

The door slamming shut behind you pulled your flighty spirit back into its boney prison. Several voices murmured behind the walls.

You caught some of their words, or so you believed.

"A guest?"

"They returned!"

"Oh dear."

"How delightful."

"Go away."

You wished you didn't.

It has occured to me that it is time that I made this, so here it is.

Do you like fantasy in modern setting? Do you like an OP protagonist that moves behind the scenes? A protagonist who's one of the biggest unreliable narrator I have seen? A protagonist who like to sacrifice themselves? Do you like found family? Do you like a great world building? Then this novel is for you!

Introducing, 명문고 EX급 조연의 리플레이 or EX-Rank Supporting Role's Replay in a Prestigious Highschool

Description:

After clearing the final chapter of the national game, I became a nameless supporting character in the game. An EX-level supporting role that can not be measured outside of the standard and is of an unknown level.

FIRSTLY, the MC, Jo Euishin!

Since I also read the mtl of this novel, his name is also translated as Cho Euishin, God of Condolences, God of Joy, etc. Lol its pretty funny cuz his name gets translated to various names, but if one were to follow the official korean romanization, the accurate translation would be Jo Uisin.

This guy, to descibe in a sentence, another self-sacrificing and a dash of in-denial kind of character. He won't hesitate to get hurt if it means that he can protect the people precious to him, but at the same time, he tries to distance himself to people who wants or is too close to them. Like come on, this guys' sole hoobae who treats him like an older brother, he can only treat as a hoobae not as a younger brother.

Even having that kind of attitude, Jo Euishin was able to form a lot of close connections in the novel, and those connections make me scream, I love them a lot!

Jo Euishin, despite having no self-awareness to relationships connected to himself, is pretty aware of connections and has a deep understanding of human behaviour of those around him, so he gives good advice.

Overall, Jo Euishin is a character who cares for others deeply but doesn't care about his well-being as much as he loves the people he cares about.

The Plot

So, as the summary indicated, our protagonist, Jo Euishin, played a game called Player Meister Highschool, PMH for short, and he got transmigrated in another world. After finishing the final chapter of the game while he's on the verge of dying, he hears that he's a suitable candidate and became the supporting role character controlled in the game. But PMH absolutely sucked because every playable character died, having a bad ending, and the final chapter contained a very hopeless ending.

After he gets transmigrated to another world, right of the bat, he was translated into the prologue setting where, four applicants (he's one of them), and the supervisor gets killed by a rampaging enemy.

After he gets through that hurdle, he comes to an understanding that he didn't transmigrate into the game world, but actually, in another world where everything is real, and swore to move to make his playable characters and the world to have a happy ending.

The plot revolves around the the MC's life, while being enrolled in Eungwang High, the main setting of the story. He meets the game's female lead and male lead there (which he sincerely hopes get together), the playable characters, and the npc's that appeared in the game.

PMH had a lot of plot holes when Euishin played it, but as he lives in the world he's currently at and solves the main problems that occured in the game, he discovers that there's more to everything and there's a ton of stuff hidden and the questions Euishin had to the mysterious stuff that happened in the game got answered one by one.

The story progress is a bit slow, but I assure you that everything is written the way they are for a reason. Even if the story is slow, the arc progression when it happens is a bit fast cause the battle itself was short. One of the arc's that happened spanned at least a hundred chapters before it closed, containing the preparations and various battles, but when everything happened, it lasted only for 5 hours in that world. So, it is slow and fast.

Currently, they're at the end of their 1st semester in their 2nd year by the time I'm writing this, and the novel has over a thousand chapters (1113 chapters).

The Worldbuilding

There are some complicated stuff in the world building that needs to be explained, but if explained in detail, you'd be able to appreciate the story more. It doesn't actually pose a problem since most of the time, when something is introduced, it gets explained sooner or later in the story.

The way the novel is written is amazing. If you pay attention to the smallest of details, the ways the characters are introduced, the POV changes, in the latter parts of the story, you can almost predict what could happen, but somehow even if you do, its exciting, because the writer writes foreshadawing so well. They add the hints sometimes unnoticable, sometimes blatant, and when you make the connection when a reveal happens, it so hecking good.

The MC's abilities

Jo Euishin's abilities are a bit overpowered, even in terms of a world where Higher Beings (or gods) and Non-Humans exist. That world has a ranking in terms of abilities, and Euishin's powers rank very high. I'll probably spoil a lot if I explore his abilities in this, so I won't explain too much aside from that, but His Gwangrim, which is an ability every person in the world who has supernatural powers have and is unique to each person, Jo Euishin's Gwangrim, "Player's Trajectory" lets him be able to use his Playable Characters' abilities. One of his abilities caused prophecies in that world to be erased.

He's also highly intelligent, and when he makes plans, it's very elaborate that sometimes he perfectly predicts how the opponents would move.

I assure you the translation of this novel plays a big part in why people drop it, but the novel is very much a hidden gem and you won't regret it if you continue to read despite the bad translation.

I'd like to recommend it to every moots or followers I have that has read orv, lcf, and tsctir, and enjoyed them, as EX-Rank kind of contains elements of those novels, but still doesn't feel repetitive and still has a unique storyline.

you just up and left with packing everything dear to you, which was basically your whole room, into a small bag and left

you didn't look back, but you cried

you feared you'd freeze to death when it was night and you were following the moon, which was your compass, with your flying broom

you reached some cities, where you were wearing normal human clothes, your witch-hat and broom tucked safely into your bag, the people there were only giving you uninterested looks

when you had a job, you were underpaid and since you were young, you didn't really get the respect you should be given

you got yelled at, spat at and cursed at

when they found out you were a witch -you were making a fallen baby bird float up to its nest with your magic- they were after you with their sharp or lit up sticks, spears and swords

as you grew older, you got more distant and didn't really ask for anything else except a place to sleep

then, one day, a guy apporached you

you got bad vibes from him

when he was about five feet apart from you, he did something that made you fall unconscious

and when you woke up, you couldn't feel your mana anymore

how could somebody do that to you?

Did you deserve this?

after this, you lost trust in humanity, lost the ability to smile, and you were overall asking yourself why you kept going

what was your reason to leave anyway?

Sure, the guy was older, but he was also wealthy and your parents only wanted the best of you

tears prickled in your eyes and you sniffed

you wished you'd be home- "Hey, you're in the way woman!", a voice called and another, this time more shrill: "Watch out!"

before your mind could figure out what was going on, your body did and like on reflex, you stopped a...lava-shoot? crashing into you

with your magic

your breath hitched as you noticed two men coming towards you

you felt like crying and let the lava fall to the ground

"I-I'm sorry! I'll leave!", was all you said before you turned around ran

stupid, stupid witch.

YOU WORE HIGH HEELS AND YOU TRIPPED WITH A YELP

good thing your face didn't land in some sort of shit but grass

"Uh, you okay there little miss?"

God, how embarassing.

all you did was hold up a thumb which should be pointing up, but since you landed on your stomach, so it pointed back

After your little...uh, tripping accident, you were sitting between the two men on a cut tree, the lava pooping bangul on your lap and you four were in front of a small fire, roasting fish and chicken

how could such a cute little thing become so big? And shit lava???

The one sitting to your left was a man with brown hair, where some of it covered the right half of his face, but he was still handsome to you. He was wearing easy, but highranking-like clothes.

The one to your left was a man with baby-bluish cloudy hair, and you were dying to find out of it was as fluffy as you'd think it'd be

"My name is Lloyd Frontera, and that is my friend Javier. We tried warning you several times, but you were not listening. That will be very expensive for you.", the man with the brown hair said

Wait wha- "Wait, hold on, uh, Mr. Frontera, I don't know what-" "Oh? Are you new here?", Frontera asked in faux concern before he had an ugly grimace to which you shrieked and Javier was ready to hold you, as he was startled too

"Well, that's too bad, because new residents have to pay fees to live here, and since you seem to be some sort of mage -given the fact that you stopped the lava with your hands- I'll add two percent to it!", cue to him laughing maliciously

you turned towards Javier with a mortified expression "A-are you really...friends with him?", and Javier 'tsk'ed before looking to the side with a small nod

"Um, can't I do something that won't have me paying anything?", you asked in a meek voice. You didn't know that guy or what his intentions were. You found him really nice at first, but now, you were scared of him. And you also didn't really have any money on you right now. You were also a total dumbass in math so you didn't know what he meant by two percent.

His crazed face met yours again and you flinched

"I don't know, aren't you a mage or sorceress or something?"

You had to nod, but tears were clouding your vision again. "I-I'm a witch. But I'm, like I-..I'm useless...!", you croaked out before you leaned forward and cried. "I'm sorry for causing you trouble, Mr. Frontera, I didn't mean to bother you, or make whatever you were doing take longer. Please have mercy on me..."

You were so pathetic. Why did you always apologize? Why did you always mess something up? Why are you so stu-

"Listen, I've heard many people talk like that. 'Oh, please have mercy on me! I'll make anything you want, I promise!', but then they just dissappear or kick your butt with a shit eating grin on their face!"

You were shocked by this. How dare Lloyd Frontera compare you to those people? You were a victim of these kinds of humans after all...

"Mr. Frontera, I have no idea what might have made you think that I would jest about it, let alone think about it. I can't be helped but feel outraged. Another thing if I may add, is that we witches are honest creatures, unlike you humans."

The man seemed a little surprised, but then he turned serious again. "what do you have to offer to pay, witch?"

"I have nothing. You humans only care about money, am I right? Well,", you stood up, and gave him your bag, "in thiss magic bag, there is everything I hold dear to me. Take what you want. Take whatever you think might be good enough to be worth money."

He only stared at you with a confused expression. "W-wait. You're just giving me your belongings?" "Would you leave me alone? GIve me the choice to leave? No. You wouldn't. You'd try to take my bag. I know you humans. Your hearts and minds are only filled with lust and money to waste away your days of life on gambling and whatnot other useless stuff."

Your expression was hardened. Lloyd stood up. Then he bowed.

"I'm sorry, witch."

At that, you raised your eyebrows shot up. Is he...apologizing?

.....

....

...

No.

Humans don't apologize. They take and take and take-

"Please forgive me for my rude behaviour. You are not even from here and I'm already at your neck with paying fees. Allow me to introduce myself again.

My name is Lloyd Frontera, son of the noble of this small region. I was working on building some more modern houses for the orcs, because they needed ice, and I lied to them that I needed ice, and now I have a dilemma because I don't know-"

"I can make ice, Frontera."

A moment of silence passed before you spoke again.

"When I make ice for you...would that cut away some of the price I have to pay you for bothering you?", you asked hesitantly and averted your eyes. Your cheeks were warm out of embarassment, because you couldn't believe you'd actually ever offer a human of all creatures your help.

You didn't hear a response for a solid three seconds, and when you looked back to the brown haired dude, you screamed. How could a human make such devillish grimaces? He looked hideous.

"Does your wife kiss you with a face like that?!?!?!", you shrieked as he was about to reach out his hand to seal the deal you unofficially were about to do. But he halted.

You thought you heard a small snort from Javier's direction. The young noble fell to his knees. "...I am single."

"That figures."

Damn, you didn't hold back.

It was the next day, after you've slept in one of Lloyd's rooms by decorating/rearranging it to your liking, you followed the noble and his knight to the place you guys have met for the first time.

You felt nostagic, to say the least. You had a job again, albeit having to help a human, it wouldn't be too bad-

"Lloyd, oink! How is the process going, oink?", a deep, smooth voice asked behind you, and when you turned around, you thought that you've seen the most handsome man in your entire life.

Beautiful green skin, wonderfull long dark hair that was thrown into a high ponytail, a sweet big, pointy tooth at the left corner of the man's mouth and the most beautiful shade of blue eyes you've ever seen.

And aside from that... he had the body of a greek god!

Gosh he is so hot! Is he single?! How old might he be?! Ah!- he looked at me!!!

"Ah, Arosh, great to see you! I'd like you to meet my newest recruit! Meet: The witch, ____! She's been bugging me yesterday, hence this big hole of now cold lava,", as he pointed to you and then to the big dark area-to which you blushed while apologizing shyly-, "but, she says she can make ice! Isn't that great?!"

Arosh looked at you with surprise, curiousity and happiness. "Arosh is happy that witch lady ____ is here with us! Please help the sand and steel tribe! We can not work out under this heat! The winter is far away and it is still spring! Please help us, witch ____!"

You wanted to hug Lloyd. You wanted to pat your own shoulder for proposing him the idea of helping him make ice.

God, dear lord, my creator, thank you. Thank you so much for giving me this peace of eye candy. I don't know what I did to deserve this, but I'd like to thank you with all my heart.

And so, you found yourself with Lloyd again. But you had a confession to make. "Mr. Frontera, there is something I haven't told you."

As he turned around with a 'hm?', you took a deep breath before glaring at him angrily.

"I lied!"

Lloyd smiled. "What?"

"I-I lied..."

"WHY?", he shouted and you yelped. Your eyes were filling with salty water again and you hated it. Why did you always cry when you were angry? It was like the stongest emotions of your mother, sadness, and the anger from your father got heired by you, who yelled at him with venom in your voice, but water-streaming down your cheeks.

"Some human took all my mana!", you reasoned, quieting him for a moment. He just stared at you. "Who did it?"

"I don't know. All I know is that he looked like he couldn't hurt a fly and the next moment I was out cold. And what I remember from his looks it that he had dark hair, a beard, and he had a weird symbol on his clothes."

You inhaled before speaking again. "I am sorry, Mr. Front-"

"It's Lloyd, ____, and I will give you back your mana from that bastard. Meanwhile, can you use mine?"

You were taken aback. Was this human for real? Was Lloyd Frontera really thinking of you that highly that you could use some of his mana? And why was he suggesting giving you some of his mana? Let alone letting you use his?

"I-I...I don't know. I've never done this before.", you started. "But once I have your mana, I'll be able to create ice. I think that I'll also be able to expand the mana you've given me to my own level in no time." you had that hardened expression again.

He sighed through his nose before reaching out his hand. "But don't you dare to run off with it, ____!"

"I'm not a human like you. We witches are honest creatures.", you repeated this sentence you said yesterday. Hoping that Lloyd would understand it.

The moment your fingers brushed against his, a wave of euphoric electricity cruised through your body. It was like your soul was lifted, and you felt way too much adrenaline pumping through your veins.

Reflexively, you pulled your hand back as quick as possible and panted. Sure, it felt good, but you got too much mana from him. "What the hell?! Why did you give me so much?!", you yelled, glaring at him. If he'd have given you a little more, it might have killed you.

Your fingers were shaking and your only thought was to use your magic again. "Huuuuh? Be a little grateful, you witch! I just gave you half of my mana so you could do the ice in peace!"

You only sighed while shaking your head and beckoned him to follow you towards what he built. forms which resembled cubes were filled with water and Lloyd looked at you with some sort of exectation. Maybe he wanted you to say something smart or praise.

"Did you do this?", you asked and Lloyd nodded excitedly.

"Lloyd, I'm going to teach you about how to make ice.", and he nodded again.

You pulled back your sleeve so that your dominant arm would be on full display. then, you put it into one of those water cubes. Lloyd copied your move, one block away.

"Concentrate on the cold and warm amount of mana. Then, try to take only the warm mana out. Like this,", you grabbed your upper arm in the middle and your hand started to glow.

"You might not get it the first try because you're only ever, uh..."pushing out"? The mana? yeah, I ah...You just...you need to figure out how to absorb it. Think about taking back the mana you gave me. Then it should work."

Lloyd only stared at you with a frown on his face as his hand was in the water. "I...need to take back the mana, but only the warm ones...I've actually thought about this, but with your help, we might do it faster now!"

You deadpanned at his enthusiasm. "How about you see if you can actually do it before celebrating too soon?"

At that, Lloyd chuckled before he did as you said. After two seconds, he jumped and waved his hand around like a madman. "ARGH, Shit!"

"Burned yourself?"

"...yeah"

"C'mere."

You took his red hand into your own and used your healing magic form his mana and his hand came back to its original color.

Javier watched you two from afar. He had another unreadable expression on his face.

"You know...I wanted to thank you for having me, Lloyd. By far, this is the most welcome I've felt after all I've been through my whole life. You are a good man."

As you let go of his arm, he examined it before looking back to you. "No need to thank me. Although I'm very interested how your life was. I've never met a witch before, to be honest. You're also very nice to help me. I'm surprised that you didn't run off with the mana I've given you. After we made the ice, we'll eat something and talk, alright?"

You nodded.

It was only the next day, but you two made it. You made dozens of ice blocks for the sand and steel tribe and you couldn't help but buzz on your seat on the broom as you were going to the region where Arosh lived.

Javier noticed your weird excitement and Lloyd only smiled.

"Y-you made...Ice, oink?", The father, you guessed, asked, as he was hugging himself and you smiled. When you stepped into that seokbinggo, you noticed Arosh and his father. Arosh waved at you excitedly to which you internally exploded and waved back with a sweet smile.

Lloyd went towards the stapled ice cupes and tapped on them a few times. "All we need to do now is put in the insulation and we're done."

At that, the orcs got loud. "Oooink! A-AMAZING! Now we won't have to throw out any meat, oink!", the father cheered, and his son responded: "And we won't have to hunt every day, oink!"

You giggled at their little antics, but halted when the next words came. "In celebration, today will be triceps day, oink! Call everyone to the square!"

"Triceps day, oooink!"

T-triceps day? God, is this heaven? Am I going to see more chiseled abs and sexy bodies ?! if yes then...

A tear rolled down your cheek as you closed your eye and clasped your hands together.

Lloyd and Javier asked why you were crying but you only giggled uncontrollably.

How was that? I actually didn't know what you meant by following them to adventures, but I just wanted to do one of my favourite scenes, write about my favourite character and yeah.

Like, this webtoon had so many things happening which was giving me a little whiplash and I just thought fuck it we want to have something to begin with so that their adventures could some together. As in the reader meeting them like this and then accompaning them there and there.

I actually want to keep writing to be honest. It was very fun!
