#i laughed at the word bork
Text
@liauditore Liau I blame you for this my hand slipped and I lost consciousness and when I woke up I have these hamfisted words to bludgeon you with (ilu and your galaxyduo brain)
"Go on get you all out of here!" Pearl exclaimed, politely but insistently shoving people towards the exit. With a lot of mumbling and bumbling, and plenty of stumbling, Mumbo, Bdubs and Pearl managed to usher out the entire mess of people who have gathered for a sleepover at Pearl's. There was to be no sleeping over, since the day had consumed all of them with the sillies and Pearl had a task to complete tomorrow. So much to unpack from the day's activities; she felt completely drained but her heart was full… of something.
The distant slam of Bdubs' awkward trapdoors seemed to provoke a soft bork from Mailbox, interrupting Pearl's relaxing chore of tidying up after the visitors. She had to give him his nightly cuddles, stuffing him full of nonsensical coos and affection to last the lonely night on watch outside.
But it seems someone else was giving Mailbox a fair bit of attention already.
"Hi Scott, still here?"
Scott did not look up from his giving of scritches to Mailbox, who was quite content to sit at attention, looking curiously at this last overstaying visitor.
“I like your new home” he said at last.
Pearl turned around, taking in her measly mound. It was a very well shaped, perfectly-spherical-thank-you-very-much, mound of dirt. Half sunk into the ground with a cherry door. Mumbo seems really proud of her for it.
It wasn't much of a house at all really, by Pearl's critical builder eye. Not safe, whispered the ghost of a girl who built a tower in the sky.
And yet in this mound, in this home dug from the ground, Pearl's ears still rang with the echos of laughter, her eyes had run rivers of mirth, and her heart was full of something.
"It's al'right, I'm working on it" The lilt of her voice seemed to catch, in a throat once hoarse from unuse.
"Lookin' forward to what you'd build here Pearl, I'm sure it'll be something."
"Quite something indeed."
The silence seemed to stretch, like the gulf between the moon and stars, where the void sparkled with an infinite something.
And then, with a quirk of her lips and a tilt of her head, Pearl said "Go on home Scott its getting dark and late", indicating the silhoulette of the cherry canopy in the distance where Gem and the Scotts have made their base; the cherry wood staircases and the homey cottages drenched in the light of the moon's face.
Scott brightened as the tension snapped, straightened and with a laugh off he set,
"It’ll be alright, the moon is full tonight."

Alright, we're editing so that means it's favorite-typos time 😁
Coming in with the top five, I've got:
"Unborthered" (reminds me of the word bork and there's just something funny about that to me)
For absolutely no reason, a random "8" at the end of a sentence. Weirder: it's in chapter 6. I'm too lazy to check if this is in the live demo or just something that happened this round of writing. Either way, it's fixed and I got a good laugh out of it 😆
I accidentally had poor mc insult themself while arguing with Rin. Send help, MC is clearly too tired for wordplay and needs a nap.
"Propping my hand in my chin."

Floral Circlet - Chapter 2: doog
Summary: There are three universal truths everyone agrees with about the all-female Hololive Academy. One, everyone who goes there is a fucking weirdo. Two, everyone who goes there is incredibly talented and unquestionably deserves their place in the academy, and let nobody fucking say otherwise. Three, everyone who goes there is at least a little bit gay for each other.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a repost.
“Stinky,” Amelia greets.
Gura glances up and to the side, sees Amelia’s lopsided smile, and nods sagely. “Bozo.”
Gura pats a spot on the bench next to her in spirit, and Amelia welcomes the invitation to plop her ass down.
Amelia’s smile turns into more of a smirk. “So this is what you do in your spare time? Ogle your senpai while she’s getting all hot and sweaty?”
“And you don’t? Tragic.” Gura matches Amelia with a smirk of her own, acting like she’s won. But Amelia does start ogling too, so maybe she did win. Just a little bit.
Korone is the senpai in question, clad in gym tank top and shorts, sporty yet fashionable, tight in all the right places, and exposing just the right amount of sweaty skin and ripping muscles. A circle of training dummies surround her in the fighting ring, and all her best assets are put to good use as she goes to town on them.
And where there’s Korone, there’s Okayu, lounging by the ringside, sometimes shouting her incentives.
“Korone, that one said playing games for twenty hours isn’t healthy.”
Amelia’s not sure which one Okayu meant, but Korone spins around, sidesteps, and lands a resounding right hook on the dummy behind her, sends it flying out of the ring, exploding into a burst of wood and plastic splinters upon impact with the wall. Gura gives a small hoot, while Amelia settles for an appreciative nod.
Amelia turns to look behind her. The stands are lined with familiar faces; Miko, Matsuri, Choco, Watame, Nene, a blur of shadows that used to be Calli until their eyes met, Ollie - all of them appreciating the show Korone’s putting on with varying levels of respect.
“Thought the crowd’d be bigger,” Amelia notes.
“It was.”
Oh god. Korone’s infamous legend strikes again. She’s almost scared to ask, “How long?”
Gura does a full body stretch, less shark and more cat for a moment. “Just about to hit the four hour mark.”
“Goddamn.” There’s really no other way to respond than with a laugh. “Don’t you get tired just watching?”
“You might. Me? I’m built different.” Gura gestures to herself with exaggerated swagger. It’s a weird thing to be smug about, but whatever.
“Alright.” Amelia reaches over and pokes the side of Gura’s head. “But no way that shark noggin’ of yours don’t get bored.”
Gura makes an agreeing shrug. “It gets close, sometimes. But then out of nowhere, you’ll get moves like-”
“That one invited me to lunch!”
In a move straight out of a horror movie, Korone descends on a hapless dummy from behind. Arms wrap around its torso, lifts it up, and squeezes. Wood and plastic screeches in pain, until it burst, the dummy bisected into two messy halves.
Amelia’s jaw goes slack. Gura simply points at the ring. “Like that.”
Amelia remembers to close her mouth, and makes a mental note to never approach Okayu while Korone’s around. “Alright, I guess-”
“And that one borked your handheld!”
The evil glint in Korone’s eyes is almost audible. She takes a step and - honest to God - vanishes into a blur, reappears a split second later on the other side of the ring, crouched in front of a dummy.
“Orayo!”
Amelia can feel the impact of the uppercut. Can see the shockwave, the air rippling from where Korone’s fist connected. The dummy takes off faster than the eye can see, crashing through the roof, soaring past the stratosphere, disappearing into a twinkle in the sky.
“Jegus,” Gura breathes, then gulps. Mark her down as scared and horny. “And that.”
“Huh,” goes Amelia. “Aight, I can definitely get behind this.”
In the ring, Korone heaves, pants, wipes the sweat from her glistening brow. But she’s still grinning. Still gives Okayu a look and a nod. Okayu raises a remote and presses a button. A dozen more training dummies drops into ring. Korone falls into a practiced stance, ready for yet another round.
“You wet?” asks Gura as she surreptitiously slides a hand under her hoodie.
Amelia clenches her thighs together, and nods. “A little moist, yeah.”

Heya!! I found your blog like last week and I already read all of your masterlist lol I love how you write and how you characterize the boys! Thanks so much for doing this! <3
I have a request if that's okay? I wanted to know how Twilight would react if reader (maybe he's crushing on them, maybe not, that's for you to decide ☺) knew from almost the beginning that he was wolfie, but tried to keep the secret and kept spoiling wolfie and like, calling him a good boy and everything?
Hope you have a wonderful day!! <3
Masterlist
Thank you so much for your kind words and the request! <3
I hope I do it justice.
Content under the cut!
“Wolfie!!” You call out and try to fight the strength of your grin, but you can’t help it. The animal wags his tail at your call and trots up to you with a swagger you can’t help but find amusing.
If only Twilight would approach you as easily. Maybe he had more confidence as Wolfie?
Your hand reaches out and you begin rubbing it all over his face and head, giving some attention to his ears and cheeks. His tail never ceases to wag and you’re happy that you’re able to make him happy if only for a moment.
This in common place if you took a moment to be honest with yourself.
You grin at the full strength that you can manage. You give Wolfie a big kiss on his forehead and stand, making it easier on your knees. “You are the best boy, did you know that?”
He borks once, happily.
“That’s right! You are!” You laugh at his enthusiasm and ruffle the fur on top of his head.
“Does anyone know where Twi is?” Wind asks. “I need his help with this, but I don’t know where he is. I can’t find him.”
You freeze, side eyeing Wolfie.
You know. You do not think he knows that you know.
Wolfie’s tail slows as he looks at wind. He’s no longer as excited as he was merely seconds ago. Wind sighs to himself and rolls up whatever he had around his hand. He looks at you and Wolfie, an easy (if a bit disappointed) smile crawling onto his face. “Hey, do you know where Twilight went? He was here a minute ago.”
You smile back, a bit tensely.  “I uhh..... Nope. No clue. Sorry buddy. I can’t even think of an answer to give you.”
“Hmm...” Wind hums and looks around. “He’s got be nearby right.”
“Yup!” Your smile tightens even more.
“I guess I can always go looking for him.” Wind shoves it into this pocket. “I’ll be back!”
“Ok, be safe! I’ll let Time know where you are.” You call back, a hand landing on Wolfie’s head instinctually.
The boy runs off before you can say anything else and you let a breath out. It took a minute for you to realize it, but your heart was pounding within your ribcage. Taking a deep breath in, you sit back down next to Wolfie. You both still, the previous energy dispersing from the atmosphere.
“I... such a bad liar.” You admit. “I’m going to let it slip and you’re going to get mad at me.”
Wolfie tilts his head. He shakes himself vigorously and pokes his wet nose against your own. You smile sadly and reach again to scratch the spot above his eyes. His favorite spot.
“I’m doomed.”
Wolfie whines, licking your nose.
“Twi, I’m serious. I’m so bad at this.” You snort and push him away.
Wolfie freezes for real this time, staring at you with a shock and borderline horror on his canine features. You grimace and bit your lips. “Oops... I knew it.”
Suddenly there’s shadows and the creature shifts before you. At first you don’t know what you’re looking at but that quickly changes when a very familiar face appears inches away form yours.
In response, you jerk back and find yourself falling backwards onto your butt and onto the dirt path beneath you. Twilight is quick to follow you even if you don’t know why.
“You knew.” It’s a statement, not a question.
You bite your lip and shy away from the eye contact.
“You knew.” He stresses.
“Yes.”
“And you-”
“It’s not like you were saying anything!” You’re quick to defend yourself. “It wasn’t my secret to tell and not many of the others knew soo... Um... I just...”
“Since when?” Twi looks miserable, like he’s both scared and anguished that you knew.
“Since the beginning.” You say. “Literally the second day we met, I figured it out.”
Twilight scoffs for a minute in shock, moving himself off of you. “I can’t believe this.”
“I haven’t told anyone.”
“No, I know. I know.” Twilight rakes a hand through his hair. “This whole time-”
“I just- you never said anything, so I thought-”
Twilight groans loudly, cutting you off. He looks to the sky for a moment before snapping his head towards you. “So... you knew since pretty much day one.”
“Day two, but yes.” You sit up.
Twilight continues to stare at you for a moment before he gets into your personal space again. “You’re something else, you know that?”
“What?”
“Don’t sorry about it.“ He smirks and places a kiss on the tip of your nose, not dissimilar to Woflie’s little actions of affection toward you.
You sit there stunned for a little moment longer before coming back to yourself. Twilight is already back on his feet, his hand outstretches towards you. You take it. He effortlessly hauls you to your feet and he winks. He’s smug, but you can’t be more confused even if you tried to be.
“I’m going to go find Wind.”
“O-ok?”
“See you later Darlin’.”
He leaves and you’re stuck staring into the space that he once occupied.
You have no idea what this means or why his demeanor towards you suddenly changed, but you can’t find yourself complaining.

Is This Your Dog?
Tumblr media
Adrian Chase / Gen!Reader
Fluff
Warnings: Really none to speak of? Very small implication of a Bi!Reader if you squint.
Word Count: 2039
AN: This is based on a true story of how I found a dog after work today. So enjoy it. Or don’t, I’m not your mom.
It had been nearly a year since you moved into the Bridgeview Apartments in Evergreen, so you had begun to fall into a bit of a routine. You’d wake up, go to work, come home, stop by the mailboxes, read your mail in your car, then trudge up the stairs to your third floor apartment to make dinner, watch some TV, and go to bed to do it all over again. Besides your weekly Dungeons and Dragons game with the few coworkers you actually like, you mostly kept to yourself.
Today, you were sitting in your parked car blasting some Owl City and holding a save the date for your cousin’s wedding as you worked up the strength to tackle the stairs. Suddenly, there was a tap on your window. The sound made you jump out of your seat, unopened bills and jump mail flying out of your hands. And the culprit? That was a rather large dog.
The dog was standing on his hind legs, leaning his front paws on your window. You could see the blur of his wagging tail. He (you assumed) looked mutt-ish, but with a lot of German Shepherd. He had that coloring at least. He also had a color, and looked clean.
You tapped on the window, and the dog fell back onto all fours, which allowed you to open the door. The dog stuck his (you were sure he was a “he” now) head right into your lap and began to sniff. You gently began to scratch his head.
“Hello puppy,” you said, getting more comfortable in your petting. “Where is your person?”
The dog simply looked up at you with big eyes. You stopped petting for a moment to collect your scattered mail, but he bumped your hand with his cold nose until you resumed petting. You got a chance to look closer at the dog, he looked well cared for, with a clean soft coat. He had a collar, but no tags.
“Needy little guy aren’t you?” You laughed. “Come on, let's find your person.”
You gathered your things and began walking up to your apartment, the dog followed you like a duckling, which stole your heart. You fell in love instantly. You opened your door to drop off your things and the dog trotted right in like he owned the place. This made you think he belonged to someone in your complex. You put the mail and your bag down and looked up to see the dog sitting patiently by the fridge.
“There’s nothing in there for you,” you said. “There’s not even anything in there for me.” You walked to the closet to see if you could improv a leash with anything in there. You settled on pulling the belt out of your bathrobe and tying it around the dog’s collar. He sat still as you did so, tail wagging all the while. As soon as you were done he began to lick your face.
“Okay okay” you laughed, pushing him away gently as you did so. “Let’s find your person.”
You started with the apartment directly across from you. After quickly knocking on the door, you peered over the railing down at the parking lot below to see if you could see your neighbor’s car.
“Hello?” He asked when he opened the door. You had seen him coming and going over the past year, but this would be the first time you ever spoken to each other.
“Hi! Is this your dog?” You said with all of the chipper-ness you could muster. Your tall, thin neighbor broke into an ear-to-ear grin and fell to his knees, scratching the delighted dog behind his ears.
“Hello puppy!” He said, “Who’s a good girl?”
“Bork!” Replied the dog, licking the neighbor’s face.
“This is a boy dog,” you said.
“Sorry?” Your neighbor asked. You got a good look at his face from this angle, even with the dog determined to lick every centimeter of it. He had clear light skin, a sharp nose, big green eyes behind silver aviator glasses, and a mess of dark curly hair.
“This isn’t your dog, is it?” You said. Your neighbor shook his head.
“Sorry, no, I’ve never seen this dog before,” he said, looking a little sheepish, but never once pausing his hands working their way into the dog’s fur.
“Oh,” you said, “sorry to bother you. Come on boy, let’s go find your person.” You said as you stood.
“Wait, can I help?” The neighbor asked.
“Uh… yeah? I don’t see why not.” You said to him.
“Great! Let me get my shoes,” he said. He closed the door and emerged a few moments later with shoes and a hoodie on.
You don’t know exactly what compelled you to invite him along on the journey. You suspected that it was partly that the situation was already so weird, and partially because you always thought that your neighbor was a little cute. Regardless, the three of you set off down the stairs and knocked on your downstairs neighbors’ doors. No luck. No luck on the ground floor apartments either, so the pair of you walked to the next building in the complex.
“How did you know it was a boy dog?” The neighbor asked you.
“His penis was a bit of a hint,” You said dryly, causing your curly-haired traveling companion to bark out a laugh loud enough to make the dog jump.
“Some girls do have penises though, so how can you be sure?” He asked after he maintained his composure. You didn’t really know what to make of that.
“I’m Adrian, by the way,” the neighbor said. Offering his hand to shake. You smiled when you took it in the hand that wasn’t holding on to the dog’s impromptu leash, then you introduced yourself. Adrian repeated your name to himself, as if he was determined to remember it.
“What happened to your face, if you don’t mind me asking?” You prodded, gesturing to a band-aid on his forehead.
“Snowboarding accident,” he said quickly.
“You snowboard?” You asked him. Surprised for several reasons, least of all that it was currently April.
“Yeah,” he said, “that’s not weird.” He said. It was weird, but you could feel him getting defensive, so you dropped it.
“I like your pin,” he said, changing the subject with a gesture to your jacket. Your hand fluttered up to the pink, purple, and blue enamel D20 on your collar.
“Thanks!” You said, blushing slightly. “My DM gave it to me for my last birthday.”
“What do you play?” He asked.
“DnD 5E, mostly. But I’ve done some 3.5 and some Pathfinder,” you explained. He lit up like a Christmas tree, and it made your heart skip a beat. He had an incredible smile.
“Me too!” He said, excitedly. “I didn’t know girls played.”
“Well, we do,” you said, unsure how else to respond. You noticed he did that often, saying things so out of the blue you didn’t quite know what to make of it. It was charming, in a way.
“Not that like, you can’t, or anything, just, I’ve never played with a girl before.” He covered, some pink tinged his cheeks, which made you notice his freckles.
“Bork!” Called the dog, as if to remind you he was there. You scratched his ears and continued to knock on some neighbors’ doors. You got through the entire other building and still didn’t have any luck.
“This is getting tedious,” complained Adrian.
“You can go back home,” You offered. “He’s a really good dog, I think I can handle this.”
“No, I’m invested now.” He said.
“We can go to the animal hospital, see if he’s chipped?” You offered. The color left Adrian’s face.
“We can’t go to the animal hospital.” He said, a little too quickly.
“Why on earth not?” You asked.
“Because… My ex-girlfriend works there. She’s a nurse, a girl nurse, and she’d go ballistic if I showed my face in there.” He said.
“You’re a terrible liar,” you told him. “But fine, we can try the Shelter instead.”
You walked back to the parking lot and unlocked your car. Adrian opened your back seat’s door and the dog jumped right in.
“Are you sure this isn’t your dog?” He asked.
“I think I’d remember,” you said. Adrian followed your dog into the backseat and you made your way around to the driver’s side. You entered the Shelter into your GPS app and set off once the route was populated.
“Do you have any dogs?” Adrian asked you, holding the dog to keep him from jumping on you while you drove. You shook your head no.
“I want to, I love dogs. But I work full time and I don’t want to coop one up all day.” You explained. “What about you?” You asked.
“I never really had much interest in pets,” he explained. “Well, my first best friend has a bird, and the bird is my second best friend in the world. But this guy is making me want one.” The dog licked his face in response, skewing his classes which made you giggle. When you hit the main road and started speeding up, the dog started to whine.
“Shhh, it’s okay boy,” cooed Adrian, running his hand down the dog’s spine. Which, surpassingly, seemed to work. Something about watching him calm down the dog in your rear view mirror made you bite your lip.
After a short drive, you pulled into the Shelter’s parking lot. Adrian let himself out, holding the dog’s bathrobe leash, so you led the way into the building, holding the door for him. When you entered, you were immediately assaulted by the familiar scent of soiled puppy pads.
“Can I help you?” Asked the friendly-looking woman behind the counter.
“Hi!” You said, can you scan this dog for a chip?” You asked, stepping aside so she could get a better view of the animal.
“KODA!” She barked, causing the dog to tuck tail. “Where have you been?”
“You know this dog?” You asked. The counter lady nodded.
“He gets out ALL THE TIME,” she said. “Someone brings him in every other day.” She came around the counter to get a better look at the dog.
“Don’t get me wrong: he’s a real good boy and his owner is great, he just figured out how to get out of his yard and it’s been a nightmare these past couple weeks.” She explained. “Thanks so much for bringing him in. You can leave him here and we’ll ca—”
“—Hey, can I have a dog?” Blurted Adrian.
“You… Want to adopt a dog?” Asked the woman, and Adrian nodded excitedly.
“Yeah! Do you have any dogs?” He asked.
“I… do,” Asked the woman, “Want to meet some?” Adrian was practically vibrating with excitement.
“Adrian I’d hate to burst your bubble, but don’t you think this is pretty impulsive?” You asked, following him into the kennel.
“Yeah, maybe, but all of my best work is done when I’m impulsive, it’s how I met you.” He said. You felt the tips of your ears get hot.
“Do you even know anything about dogs?” You asked. He shook his head. “No, but you do, will you help me?” He asked. Something about his boldness was endearing, and you loved the opportunity to get to know him a little better.
“Yeah, sure, we can co-parent a dog,” You said. “Stranger things have happened.”
“How about this one?” Asked the employee. She stopped in front of a kennel. “He’s been here for about a month now. Mutt, but has some pit in him. He’s about a year and a half old. All his shots are in order, you could take him home today if you sign the paperwork and pay the fee.”
The dog, a medium-sized black pit bull with a white tummy and socks, practically leapt at Adrian the moment his cage was open, jumping blindly into his arms and licking his face.
“He’s perfect,” he told you.
“What are you gonna call him?” You asked, petting the dog’s head. Adrain thought about it for a moment. Then he lit up with an idea.
“Vigilante.”

A Pup's Commendation
Tumblr media
Pairings: Henry Cavill x Female Reader, Kal x Paris (puppy love)
Word Count: ~1.2k
Warnings: Mentions of pets being stressed out, Fluffy goodness
A/N: This past weekend was Independence Day weekend and fireworks were going on every single night with Sunday night being the worst. However, one of the houses on my street left out a sign with some treats, toys, and poo bags. Paris definitely appreciated it after the night we had. She was a bit of wreck. @sif-the-tsunami and had a discussion about how we hoped Kal was okay last night and thus this idea was born.
Tumblr media
Attention! Pups of Cordova
As commendation for your perseverance through this treacherous weekend, please help yourself to a treat and a toy! (with your owner’s permission) (also, some poo bags)
Henry had first seen the sign as he left his lodgings for his morning run. He did not get too close to look at it in the low morning light and just assumed it was another garage sale sign. Plus, he was feeling rather ragged after a weekend of Kal freaking out over the firework displays. Three continuous nights of Kal’s carrying on and distressed pacing were three nights too many. Kal had been most disagreeable about getting up from his spot to join his master, preferring to have a nice lie in.
The man couldn’t fault his pup for his behavior for even Henry considered skipping his run. However, after the hefty portion of takeaway last night, he knew deep down that he needed to go for it. The only downside of being in Los Angeles was the availability of any cuisine whenever one wanted. He forced himself to continue on his usual route around the neighborhood with the promise of a nice cup of coffee once he got back. Maybe then the bear would deign it the proper time to get a start on with his day.
The side of Los Angeles was serene when it wasn’t under siege from the extravaganza of illegal fireworks. He was close enough to the studios so if he wanted a few more minutes of sleep, it wouldn’t affect how long it took to get there. On his next trip, Henry wouldn’t mind staying here again. There were plenty of places to walk Kal, the restaurants were dog friendly, and the people were amiable. The man supposed being a few minutes away from all of the studios had them used to seeing celebrities out and about.
Henry slowed as his home away from home came up ahead once again. Perhaps he had found a part of Los Angeles that wasn’t so bad after all. Had he known about it years ago he might not have been so willing to leave. He shook that thought from his head and he approached the front door, ready for a shower and some coffee.
Tumblr media
The second time the actor had seen the sign was thanks to Kal dragging him towards it a few hours later. The bear had caught the whiff of something worth checking out and decided that the best method of investigation was to charge after it regardless of being attached to the lead. Kal had dragged his master 20 feet to the white gate two houses down and there lay his prize to the left of the sign.
Kal had scarfed down the first bowl and was attempting to move to the second when Henry finally caught onto him. He had been too busy getting a better look at what the sign said and laughing.
“Kal, leave it,” he ordered as he attempted to move the dog away,” They’re not all for you pig, no matter how much you want them.”
The bear huffed at his owner and followed his command but not before stealing a ball from the pile. It wasn't until the walk was over and two back inside that Kal revealed his hand. He dropped the spit-covered ball at the man’s feet, tail wagging and eager to play.
“Oh bear, you naughty dog,” Henry chuckled before tossing the ball.
Tumblr media
The third time the sign made an appearance was close to sundown. Henry had made a point to go the opposite direction to keep Kal from being tempted to eat up the rest of the treats. There was a cool breeze in the air and they weren’t alone on the street. Some people were just getting home from the day, children were playing in their yards, and a few other dogs were being walked as well.
It was a peaceful way to end the day. By the time the two circled back and around headed back home, streaks of orange, red, and pink pierced the sky. They were in the home stretch near the sign and its bounty when a little spotted pup ran into view towards the treats. Kal bolted towards the dog and his leash was ripped from Henry’s hands. The smaller dog ran towards the treats and Kal was quick to join them.
Henry sprinted off after his dog and a figure on the end of the street did the same.
“Paris! Get back here bubba,” the person yelled.
The two humans reached the house at the same time and were equally surprised at the sight before them. Both dog’s tails were wagging as they gorged themselves on treat heaven. Kal even went as far as to knock open the boxes of Milkbones for his new friend. What was left at their respective owners' arrival was soggy cardboard, empty bowls, and two equally pleased pups.
They looked up at their owners with innocent faces like there weren't remnants of treats dusted over their muzzles. Henry glanced over at the new arrival and saw that you had the same face of exasperation that he did. In your hands was a harness and leash sans dog, clears signs of a runaway pup. The two pups were none the wiser to their owner’s moods and got busy sniffing the other.
“Well it looks like two pups are in the dog house tonight,” you offered shyly.
“There’s no question about that. I’m Henry and that bear of a dog is Kal,” he offered, holding out his hand.
You shook his hand and replied, “Y/N and that spotted devil is Paris.”
The two of you attempted to approach your respective dogs, but Kal made quick work to tangle himself around Paris. The two seemed quite enamored with each other.
“I’m so sorry about that. Kal, let’s go!” Henry ordered, grabbing onto to Kal's leash and attempting to move him away.
"It’s alright. Paris needs friends of her own species. She’s rather fond of the cats at the cafe two blocks over,” You giggled and bent down to scoop up your pup.
Kal let out an annoyed whine at his new friend being taken away so soon, there were still balls that needed to be played with and dirt to get covered in.
“Come on Romeo. I’m sure you’ll see Paris later,” Henry teased as he patted Kal’s head.
“You definitely will. We live just over there,” You offered as Paris was wiggling around in your arms, trying to rejoin her friend.
“I think both of us will hold you to that. Have a nice night, Y/N. Try to stay out of trouble, Paris.”
“Same to you and Mr. Kal. Goodnight,” You said, giving him a small wave before turning and making your way to your house.
Kal let out a sad bork as the two of you left his sight.
Henry sighed as he looked down at his dog, “Yeah, me too buddy.”
Maybe being in Los Angeles wasn't so bad after all.

MY MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
Your eyes opened with the sudden feeling of your hair moving and looked up, seeing your cat playing with a few strands of your hair, which brought a smile to your face for half a second. That was until you felt that pain in your lower back and the feeling of your uterus being stabbed multiple times, over and over again.
A groan got out of your mouth almost as an involuntary reaction to the reminder of your period and as your cat looked at you with its head bent to the side with the sudden noise. Looking around your dorm, you found everyone asleep and relief filled your senses as you recognised it's Saturday.
'Thank Godric.' You thought as you tried to get up without making a sound of pain.
Checking the time, you noticed it was around time for breakfast in the Great Hall and you decided to go there to try to find any of the Marauders - because even being early, they never skip breakfast.
And you needed Sirius now.
That was the only thing you were certain of.
He is the only person who knows how to help you during these days of each month. He is the only person who doesn't laugh when you cry over nothing. He is the only person who knows the way he should massage your back so the hurt can relief. He is the only person who knows which songs calm you down and make you feel comfortable. He is the only person who knows how to hold you when your uterus is hurting like hell.
Sirius is the one. Period.
You knew it, he knew it too, but it was too soon to share or even think too much about. You were still in Hogwarts and you had so much time to still be together. It kind of felt like an unspoken agreement that you two would be together forever, and each 'I love you' just made it even more real.
But future wasn’t something in your head while you felt like fucking dying.
After changing into some comfortable clothes, you walked to the Great Hall with your favourite muggle fiction novel in hand. The halls were calm, probably even more peaceful than the last Christmas holidays you spent at Hogwarts. It felt weird not having to back out from people so you wouldn't get knocked down or end up getting a black eye.
Walking through the giant doors of the Great Hall, the first thing you noticed was how crowded it was and the thought that breakfast had just started crossed through your mind, but you didn't think much of it as your eyes found a pair of grey ones that shone with the mere sight of you.
All your worries washed away for a second when you noticed that Sirius knew you were on your period by just the look on your face. And he got up from the bench, without even saying goodbye to his three best-friends, already walking your way.
You met him halfway through the crowds of people trying to find a seat in between the benches of different houses and it didn't take a second for Sirius to hold you in between his loving and comforting arms. His strong arms were around your waist, holding you close to his chest while your arms were around his neck with your face buried in his neck.
"Good morning, my love." He whispered in your ear as his hands started to slightly press their palms and fingertips onto your lower back, massaging it. A sigh left from your lips when the tension started to drift away and you felt his lips in your hairline, giving it a soft peck.
"Ugh, I need you." Your painful whimper made Sirius' heart clench with the sight of your hurt.
"It's alright, angel, let's go to my dorm." Padfoot spoke softly and separated from you enough so he could see your face. "Just grab something for you to eat and we'll be alone. The boys will be outside all day..." You nodded, being only able to agree as you wanted to get away from there as soon as possible. You grabbed a muffin and held Sirius hand as you walked out of the Great Hall, already pulling him to your final destination, where you would finally be able to just try to relax.
The first thing you did as you walked through the door of the Marauders' dorm was to throw yourself at Sirius' bed. You felt horrible and all you needed was some sleep and cuddles. Sirius closed the door and took your and his shoes off, dropping it beside the door.
"How's your reading been going?" He asked with a soft voice to not bother you if you had a headache and pointed to the book you were holding as he sat beside your limping body.
"Well, it's good..." You trailed off as you sat up to let Sirius sit behind you and he did just what you wanted, but instead of you laying down with your back against his chest, you laid down with your back up between his legs and with your head resting in his abs.
"Only good? I remember you telling me yesterday that there was a super plot twist in the story but you fell asleep before telling me what was it..." Sirius trailed off while one of his hands massaged your lower back and the other one caressed your scalp.
"I didn't tell you?!" Your voice was a little louder and a smile grew on Sirius' face when he noticed how you were getting excited just talking about your favourite books, just like you always did.
And the rest of the day was like that. The peaceful environment of you holding Sirius and Sirius holding you while you rambled excitedly about your books while Sirius only listened, looking at you with a love-struck expression.
Sirius loved you so much, he just wished he could take all the pain you felt once a month away from you…
But as he couldn't do that, Sirius would spend the rest of his life holding you and taking care of you on the most unfortunate days of the month.

rusty sky
❝ this was a mistake. ❞ you decide, standing in the midst of the forest where the shadows began to gradually encroach onto the path as the sun slowly set. you weren't oblivious to the rumors of demons milling through the darkness, whispered tales from those fortunate enough to escape their grasp. you knew there was a level of truth behind their words. your parents seemed rather adamant over their existence and that rubbed off on you.
even you, a wayfaring deity, a minor god with little to their name had their reservations with the night creatures. while you were gifted with the strength and speed that far exceeded that of an average human, you were still in a place of vulnerability, knowing fully well that you could die if you were to encounter a particularly powerful demon. yes, you knew it had longevity but immortality? you weren't unkillable.
a twig snapped somewhere in the bushes and you flinched, rapidly spinning around to eye the spot with newfound weariness, eye twitching with terror.
❝ fuck, this WAS a mistake. ❞ you babbled, beginning to pace forward in a stiff, urgent speed walk. ❝ i'm going to suffer a painful death now, aren't i? ❞ a few more twigs snapped and you picked up your pace, sending a quiet prayers to the kamis above to assist a wretched demigod like you.
the bushes parted, the leaves crunched, you could hear heavy breathing in the air. you blinked, feeling your body temperature drop considerably while your skin prickled with terror. something moved in the darkness. you could hear it. you could sense it.
this was it. the end of the line. the curtain call. the climax of your journey.
you looked behind you, now positively panicking, ready to deliver a shrill scream when something stepped into the light. it's dark eyes rose to meet yours, stopping at the sight of you before it opened it's fanged maw and...
...barked.
❝ a dog? ❞ you mumbled, confused and relieved at the sight of the tiny shiba inu that graced your presence. you bent down to pat it’s head, a small smile gracing your face as it yipped, bounding towards you. you crooned inwardly at the sight. ❝ hey there little guy, what are you doing— ❞
the dog began to morph as it came closer, it's teeth growing needle sharp while it's frame seemed to grow.
❝ are you kidding me?! ❞ you screeched with blatant distaste at the sight of the furry and very demonic abomination in front of you. it tilted it;s head to the side, opening it's jaw and delivered a small 'bork' before taking a step forward.
maybe it was friendly?
you didn't have time to react to the blur that lunged towards you, ducking before it could tear you apart. the tree behind you fell prey to it's cruel assault, leaving behind shredded bark that could may as well have been you had you not been careful
never mind. you decided. it's out for blood.
in moments like theses, you were either tasked with the following options as a deity ; a) kill the demon with your shinki and be done with it or b) kill the demon with your bare fists. despite your godly heritage, however, you were still raised by a human woman and said humanity rubbed off on you.
so as a human, your first instinct was to run.
you picked up your pace, your feet carrying you across the forest floor with the demon in hot pursuit behind you. you could hear it cackling now and a few momentary glances showed it turn more humanoid as it came closer and closer. it was speaking, a high, rough and slimy voice that did not sate your nerves in any way.
❝ i just want to play! ❞ it laughed. you could feel it's breath on your shoulder and threw yourself to the side before it could drive it's hand into your stomach. you escaped but your waist stung, red blooming across the torn cloth. you winced, touching the area, staining the tips of your fingers with blood.
shit.
shit, shit shit-
you needed to do something.
but what?
clear you breathing? were you breathing to fast? your chest felt heavy.
okay, calm down. breathe, breathe, breathe.
you didn't dilly dally any further, scrambling to your feet. something struck your head; a fist and you were surprised your brow wasn't split open from the sheer power of the blow. the demon gasped, probably feeling befuddled at your tenacity while you dragged yourself away from it, vision blurring over.
you didn't know where you were headed, running, running, running across the dirt. you lost your slippers along the way, the hard stones digging into the soles of your feet, tearing open the skin and leaving a bloody trail behind you. if you were still conscious, you would have winced, cried out, maybe even berated yourself for leaving a blatant path for that thing to follow behind.
but you were too busy trying to escape. a village; you needed to get back to a village; maybe hide. or find a demon slayer.
if only you had a shinki.
if only you—
your face met brown dirt, fingers digging into the mud as you tried to hoist yourself up again. you were aware of the throbbing in your head beginning to grow worse and the sting in your feet. looking up, you scanned your surroundings. trees, plants, leaves and...a boy?
a boy.
he stood there, watching you. you couldn't make out his features behind his kitsune mask but you groaned anyway, beckoning at him with urgency. ❝ demon. ❞ you croaked out. ❝ run. there's a demon... ❞
he flinched, looking around him with a stance that reflected his confusion. then he settled his gaze on you again. ❝ are you talking to me? you can see me? ❞ he asked, his voice hushed, amazed. you gritted your teeth together. what kind of absurd question was that? why would he even—
oh.
your vision had cleared momentarily and you could see the faint peach glow that seemed to surround him as well as his hazy transparency. ❝ a wandering spirit. ❞ you breathed. was this fate? the opportunity was too good to be true and your body seized up. your pain was forgotten; you were on your feet again. ❝ and a pure soul no less...this is...this is amazing i... ❞
the boy stepped back, bowing his head with a hint of weariness. ❝ what the hell are you going on about?! ❞ he questioned, holding up a hand before you could do anything brash even though the most you wanted to do was probably cackle and tackle him down into a celebratory hug.
you could understand his weariness and sighed, straightening up.
❝ i am a god. ❞ you declare.
silence.
the boy's arms dropped to his sides.
❝ i don't know how you can see but you seriously need some help. ❞ he deadpanned. ❝ you hit your head, yes? if there is a demon close by, the most i can do it guide you out of the forest. find a doctor, you're spouting nonsense. ❞
you shook your head, grabbing the ends of his haori. ❝ please hear me out. ❞ you begged. the boy paused, turning to you. ❝ i really am a god; a minor deity reincarnated. it may seem far fetched but it's true. the demon will be here any second now and even if you help me, i still won't be able to escape. ❞ you inhaled sharply. the boy turned to face you.
❝ calm down. ❞ he said, his voice a little more gentle down. ❝ now continue. ❞
you nod. ❝ you're a pure soul and because of this, i can take you in as my shinki or weapon. if you agree to do so, then i'll have a chance to survive this demon attack and kill it. i'll give you the rest of the details afterwards so please... ❞
he regarded you for a moment.
❝ you need a nichiran blade to slay demons. ❞ he stated flatly. you sighed, feeling exasperation and desperation pile up. you could hear the faint sounds of foliage toppling over and the boy seemed to have picked up on it as well if his taut shoulders were anything to go by. you looked at him dead in the eyes.
❝ trust me. ❞ you enunciated. he stared at you for a split second and nodded. you inhale sharply, feeling something tremble inside you. you didn't know how to acquire a shinki; you were never taught how to by tenjin when you encountered him that fateful day. but you found yourself speaking anyway. ❝ what is your name, spirit? ❞
he hesitated for a moment before answering your question. ❝ my name is sabito. ❞
the snapping grew louder. you nodded. ❝ sabito. ❞ you repeated. ❝ thou, with nowhere to go and nowhere to return, i grant thou a place to belong. ❞ from the depths of your mind, you questioned how these words flowed out so easily, but you kept going, colored light beginning to glow through your fingertips, tracing out the kanji ' 錆 '.
❝ i am the deity [ name ] and i give thou a name to bear as my sacred weapon to defend the people of this plane. with this name, i call upon thee as my shinki. Thou art ; as regalia, ' sho '. come shoki ❞ the light the momentarily enveloped sabito was blinding. between the pounding of your heart and the sudden cry of the demon as it finally tracked you down, you felt a weight settle in your hands and a flurry of feelings and emotions, image after image flitted through your mind.
sabito as a child, his peach head blending with his sibling's and parents in a friendly tussle as laughter rang through the air, sabito kneeling by their dead bodies years later, weeping while the demon slayer cleaned their blade, eyes reflecting a shared sadness, sabito training to wield a sword under stern eye of urokodaki with little giyu as a friend and sabito dying in the hands of a demon.
you hadn't realized you were crying until you were tackled down by the demon, a shuddering gasp escaping you. the peach haired boy in the kitsune mask was now a sword with a peach hilt, the edge of the blade seeming to glimmer with water. your shoulder stung when the demon sank it's teeth into the flesh, nearly ripping it out. your fingers tightened around the hilt and something in you ignited; a spark, a familiar rush that drowned any noise out in you ears.
you could heard sabito's concerned voice ring out in the corner of your mind.
you lifted the blade, slicing the demon's arms off before delivering a kick to it's stomach. it stumbled back, eyes widening when it saw the blade in your hand. ❝ what are you... ❞ it whispered out.
instinct and muscle memory made you raise sabito in your hands, something, something whispering in your head, a faint feeling that was so familiar you acted on it like second nature.
seconds later, you stood over it's disintegrating remains, it's blood staining the katana in your hand. ❝ rest in peace. ❞ you murmur. ❝ revert, shoki. ❞ the light flashed in your hand again, engulfing sabito until he stood in front of you as a boy once more. he was still for a second before patting down his body to affirm that he was human again. you saw he lost his transparency though the faint aura of peach still lingered.
❝ what happened? how did you...i thought you were.... ❞ he took a deep breath, his hands reaching up to his mask to slide it down. ❝ you weren't lying? ❞ asked the lavender eyed boy. you shook your head, feeling dazed yourself.
❝ i wasn't even sure i could do it... ❞ you murmur under your breath. ❝ but i did...you've accepted me and...i saw... ❞ you swallowed, throat tightening. ❝ i'm sorry about the invasion of privacy but i had to bear witness to your past and uh...i can give you a hug if you want... ❞
he hastily shook his head only to freeze up again. ❝ why are you crying?! ❞ he asked, a tad bit hysterical from the events. he awkwardly patted down at your shoulders to offer some form of comfort while you bawled your eyes out, overwhelmed from everything. gripping his haori, you pulled him into a hug.
❝ it's okay, you're okay. ❞ you sniffled. sabito held an expression of helplessness, arms circling around you.
❝ uh, yeah, sure...I'M okay... ❞

Pushing me out for some revenge fantasy, fine. But you just left me there, you didn't even have the decency to finish me off! just go overboard with the angst i beg u
You have come to the right place my friend, and I present to you, some angst.
Dark’s dress shoes clicking against the tiled floors were the only sound he could hear besides his own heartbeat. They were steady and sure, exactly as the demon made sure to present himself even in his own home. He was a man who knew exactly what he wanted, but there were times when his confidence was a facade.
Times such as the present, as he walked to a nearly empty room within his manor. It was practically untouched, but for a single object within. Most wouldn’t understand the significance of it after all, or why he always kept it locked. Only those who knew him well would be able to notice the tightness of his lips, the stiffness in his posture, or the way that his normally lively aura was way too still.
“You’re tense.” The voice came soon as he opened the door and stepped inside the room, distorted and low. Dark took a breath and faced the ornate mirror hanging on one wall, to which he gave a wry smile even as the voice continued. “But then, you always are when you come to see me. It’s been a while, Dark. Why are you here?” Dark could see their outline from where he stood, a shadow within the reflection of the room which he knew wouldn’t be there if he turned around.
“...As you said, it’s been some time,” Dark said in that steady, careful tone of his. “A visit was due. I wanted-”
“Don’t give me your bullshit, Dark. I can see through you better than any. After all, it is my body you’ve decided to take residence in. Why are you here?” The DA’s voice, despite its distortion, was unmistakably cold. Dark pursed his lips in response, but nodded.
“Of course. It was not a lie, DA, I do mean to come more often. But I thought to come to you now because I’ve run into something of a snag in my endeavors. I’m- unsure, admittedly, of how to proceed.” Dark was careful to keep his tone level. It wasn’t often that the demon found himself unsure, and he asked for guidance even less. There were few he could trust enough to do so- few who wouldn't exploit a demon's weakness and hesitance.
“...You want my help,” The DA said. It wasn't a question- it was matter of fact, and a hint of amusement laced their voice. Then they laughed, taking the time to move to the front of the mirror as they did. Dark didn’t move as they got closer and rested a hand against the glass, his expression unchanging. “Why would I ever help you?” The DA’s voice shifted as the next words came, their anger clear in the tone. “Pushing me out for some revenge fantasy, fine. But you just left me there, you didn't even have the decency to finish me off!” Their hand withdrew from the glass as they spoke, only for their fist to slam against it on that last word. They take a breath though, removing their fist from undamaged glass and folding their hands behind their back. The undeniable coldness returned to their tone with their next words. “...You left me here, Dark. I think I’d like to watch you suffer the same as I have. Figure it out yourself.”
Meanwhile, Dark stood entirely unflinching, silent through the DA’s outburst. When they were done he only nodded, unable to keep his aura from flicking. He looked away as the DA stepped back and fell into silence, unspeaking for a long moment himself. However, it wasn’t long before he looked up again with darkened eyes and allowed his own bitterness to show through that oh so careful stoicism.
“You know I did not intend for any of this. You know that I was guided by the Entity same as him, that I was driven to leave you trapped in there because of it. If I knew a way to release you from there I would, but it was the Entity’s power that put you there, not mine. As is, I can do nothing.”
That was met by a likewise bitter laugh from the DA. “You always were so insistent that none of this was your fault. ...You remind me of William. ...Wilford now, I suppose. I hear he’s been fucking with reality the same way that you can.” Dark watched as they pretended to think, tilting their head. “I wonder, powerful as the two of you are, why you have been unable to free me. I wonder how much of it is your inability to do so, and how much is your unwillingness.” Their voice was venomous by then, and it was clear their musing was nothing short of accusatory. “Leave, Dark.”
Dark’s lip curled at their words, and his aura flared briefly. He thought to argue, to try to convince them- ...But it was a conversation they'd had many times, and still they were no closer to believing him. So he gave the District Attorney no more hint of his feelings, instead reaching up and tugging down the sheet that normally covered the mirror, his movements even stiffer than when he first arrived in the room. “As you wish.” Then he turned on his heel and swept out of the room, allowing the door to shut and lock behind him.

↠ pairing. giyuu x fem! reader
↠ genre. fluff, angst
↠ warnings. memory loss/amnesia, minor character death, murder, graphic scenes, blood, language, implied sex work (nothing explicit)
↠ words. 11.2k
↠ summary. the little red bracelet you made when the two of you were nothing but kids, it reminded giyuu that he was always tied to your wrist.
not even your sudden disappearance could snap the wristband in two.
Tumblr media
"[Name] didn't cause any trouble, did she?" Your brother, Haruto, was out of breath as he took a seat next to two raven-haired women who were your best friend's mother and his sister. The mother laughed, shaking her head as she already knew what happened; Haruto had once again lost sight of you and you ran away to them. Ran away to Giyuu, more specifically.
"Not at all. By now, you should know that we love having [Name] over," she said, her blue eyes setting on the two children playing in the garden amongst flowers and butterflies. The mother's gaze softened with each passing second, heart feeling full and hopeful for her son's future.
Tsutako's eyes followed her mom's line of sight curiously and found her younger brother proudly showing you the butterfly he caught by sheer luck. However, your eyes were glued to Giyuu's face instead of the butterfly. The corners of her mouth tugged upwards as she imagined a future for her younger brother where you were by his side through it all. "They'd make a great couple when they're older, no?"
"Pardon me?!" Voice high-pitched, Haruto choked on his spit and ended up coughing into the sleeves of his haori. You with that boy? Impossible. Just after you were born, he promised father to take care of you, to protect you! What could a boy like Giyuu do besides catching pretty butterflies?
Haruto was about to protest, his overprotective side over you kicking in, but he was left with an open mouth and every word dying on his tongue when your laughter bounced throughout the garden. It was a rare sound he usually didn't hear. The most Haruto would get out of you was a chuckle and a half-hearted smile which you put on like a carefully molded mask.
You were so small and so, so young when your eyes witnessed a monster eating your parents, blood covering the place that used to be such a loving and warm home. Crimson stained the walls and the floor, organs lying about like furniture. Haruto was able to chase the monster into the early sunrise and brought its end.
Haruto never thought you'd remember that event.
Yet there you were, vibrantly laughing with the Tomioka boy until tears would brim your eyes, until you used up all of your energy and fell asleep in Haruto's strong arms. Maybe being with Giyuu was the equivalent of salve for your soul.
Maybe, Tsutako was right. When the two of you grew up, you'd make a fine couple.
"Yeah..they would," he finally agreed.
"Here! I made these for us!" Your small hands revealed two crimson bracelets made of simple thread that you had gotten in town with your big brother. A toothy grin stretched your lips apart, revealing that one of your front teeth was missing; pride and joy was written all over your face.
With wide eyes, Giyuu reached for one of the bracelets, looked at the gift and then back at you. "Why? It's no one's birthday today," the raven-haired kid said with an innocent tilt of his head. It wasn't that Giyuu didn't appreciate your gift, it was quite the opposite! But he also knew that your brother made just enough money to bring food to the table, so he couldn't help but feel guilty that you spent money on a gift.
"So you never forget me, silly!" Your laugh filled the garden rich with various flowers and vegetables growing from the earth. Taking the bracelet from Giyuu's grasp, you carefully tied the simple thread around his wrist until it casually sat against his skin and wouldn't slip off.
Forgetting you sounded ridiculous to Giyuu ㅡ why would he ever forget about his clumsy best friend? He didn't quite understand, and yet, maybe his heart did, because without realizing it, Giyuu tied your own bracelet around your wrist. The knot was far from perfect, but it was enough.
"Besides, you must always remember that I'm never far and always with you, okay?" A blush sat upon your cheeks as you intertwined your pinky finger with Giyuu and brought them up to eye-level, tying him into a promise of a lifetime. Your heart desired nothing more than to spend a life filled with your best friend and your big brother.
"P-promised.." Giyuu's heart fluttered, his face heated up.
But happiness was a sandcastle.
It only took 3 months for the waves to come crashing down and take the lives of not only your brother, but Giyuu's family, as well, leaving the two of you orphaned.
Tumblr media
However, just because you were a girl, didn't mean that Urokodaki went any easier on you. How often had you found yourself getting knocked on your back, although all you could do was blink? Incredible, you thought to yourself each and every day, even challenging Giyuu and Sabito to practice your falls and build up strength during the night until your body was bruised, possibly even ached at the mere thought to move any more.
It was a fortunate stroke of luck that Urokodaki found Giyuu and you wandering through a small village in search of shelter, taking the two of you in along with a boy named Sabito. He raised the three of you into fine swordsmen while also making sure that you had enough to eat, a place to sleep and everything that came along with a place called home.
Despite the harsh training, you always had fun and treasured each day you got to spend with the two boys who were like brothers to you. It was the small moments making you laugh and suffer alike; like Urokodaki throwing Giyuu into the river to "become water" or how the old man smacked Sabito's stomach whenever the tension in his stomach wasn't enough for the breathing techniques.
One night before the final selection, the warmth of flames and the smell of soup filled the space just outside of Urokodaki's small home with the three kids gathered around the small fire. It was a starry night filled with an exceptionally rich moon, the view accompanied by the sound of laughter.
"They say you are what you eat but [Name] still isn't soup," Sabito chuckled as you slurped your tenth bowl of soup empty until no drop remained in the pristine bowl. The peach-haired boy was convinced that you had a bottomless pit as a stomach, he was always astonished at the amount you managed to eat in one sitting.
"You say that like I ate a lot," you pouted at Sabito's small poke, but never took it seriously. Shoulders casually shrugged it off while you were basking in the warmth the small fire provided. Although it was far from being cold, the breeze in the mountains was still chilly and liked to nip at your cheeks.
Next to you, Giyuu laughed and the glow of the flames dipped his face in an orange hue, making your heart jump within your ribcage. Painfully, you had come to realize that as you grew up with Giyuu, the boy made your heart flutter in a way which certainly wasn't fair. Perhaps..you did have a crush on your best friend, but you'd never say it out loud.
"[Name], you ate more than Sabito and I combined." Giyuu's laughter died down as he brought his own bowl to his lips and sipped the steaming broth Urokodaki had cooked just for the three of you.
Whenever everyone gathered to have dinner and Sabito would be amazed at your appetite, it reminded Giyuu of all the times you'd come over to his family's place and eat with them. Haruto would scold you for eating too much, Mother would laugh and gladly make you another plate while Giyuu would always give you the veggies he didn't like.
"It's called having a healthy appetite, Giyuu. Your points are invalid," you declared with a dismissive wave of your hand and snickered as you saw your best friend's shoulders slump at your words.
Peaceful moments like these were rare with the training you went through daily and the upcoming final selection made every day a little bit more tense. Of course, you were aware of Sabito's and Giyuu's polished skills and had confidence in your own swordsmanship, but it was a fact that no one knew what would happen in those seven days.
"[Name] isn't wrong about this." Urokodaki put some extra wood into the fire, flames licking at the bork and effectively melting the layer away. The Tengu mask made it impossible to look at Urokodaki's face, but judging by his tone, the former Hashira had to wear a serious expression on his face.
"Let me tell you one thing. Just like humans, demons gain their strength from the humans they consume. The more a demon has eaten, the stronger it is." Everyone listened to Urokodaki's words with perked ears and curious eyes as if they could study the information like a book. "Some demons devoured so many that their bodies are deformed. It ranges from mere horns to multiple body parts and extreme growth spurts."
"If they're stronger, their neck also gets tougher to cut, right?" Sabito still cupped his empty bowl to warm up his hands. He didn't sound nervous at all, if anything, he was nothing but confident in himself which was something you admired. Sabito was like a strong boulder that one could always rely on.
Urokodaki nodded his head. "Yes."
Giyuu saw the way you unconsciously bit your bottom lip, how your nails dug themselves into the ground and fingers occasionally fumbled with a bit of grass. Whenever you started feeling insecure, you'd always bite your lip or the inside of your cheek, a habit of yours which Giyuu had caught on to years ago.
As Giyuu got older, he grew more hesitant at holding your hand in a reassuring way. Although Sabito would never tease him about it, there was something special tickling in his belly whenever he reached for your hand. It made red rush to his cheeks, but the smile you gave him afterwards was worth the embarrassment he felt.
"Thank you," you mouthed, Giyuu exhaled shakily.
You made his heart feel too funny with the tiniest of things.
Tumblr media
Footwear left deep prints in the muddy earth, high trees and thick bushes made it hard to see what was next, but you had to push through whatever lurked around the next corner.
After all, this was the second day of the final selection.
It was all about surviving 7 days in a forest filled to the brim with demons who were close to starvation. Kill or be killed, it was.
You were lucky not to have encountered any nasty demon and only had to worry about what you should eat next, but you thought of it as a bad omen. There was no way in hell the three of you could have so much luck and even if that was the case, it felt like those two days, devoid of any fight, took up all the luck you were supposed to have in one lifetime.
"Watch out, it's slippery!" Sabito ran down a small hill and nearly fell, but caught his balance just in time. He swore he saw a squirrel which he could cook later, but the animal sure was quick to run away from being eaten.
You were right behind Sabito, but much more careful than he was and slid down the hill on instinct. It had rained the entire day, so of course, the ground would be slippery, muddy and filled with puddles.
"Ah!"
Looking back, you saw Giyuu sitting on the wet ground and pressing a hand to his forehead. You went back, wanting to see what had gone wrong, but as you got closer, you saw blood severely dripping from his forehead, over his eyelids and down his cheeks. Not even his sword was to be seen anywhere; he possibly lost it just now.
"Giyuu, can you walk?" You offered him your hand which the boy gratefully took, but he couldn't seem to properly pull himself to his feet, his gaze seemed fuzzy, unfocused.
Scanning the area, you saw a small rock with fresh splatters of blood on it. So that was why..
A heavy trauma to the head. No wonder Giyuu was somewhere between unconsciousness and reality.
"Don't worry, we got this." Calmly, you examined the bleeding wound and pushed the uneven fringe out of the way to get a better look at it. Giyuu hissed when your finger brushed over the injury. "Sabito, can you watch out for demons? Just in case."
Sabito pulled his sword out of its sheath and protectively stood in front of Giyuu and you, one arm stretched out to his side to block the view of you patching up his friend. "Got it."
What were you supposed to do without any bandages? You scanned the area in hopes of finding something, anything that could slow down the bleeding, but all you saw was earth, leaves and some bushes. Stupid, to think that you'd magically see a pharmacy in the woods.
Then, your eyes settled on the sleeve of your haori. It took you no longer than a moment to unsheath your sword, cut through the fabric and tightly tie it around Giyuu's forehead who groaned in pain. "I'm sorry," you mumbled and finished the improvised banades up with a tight knot.
You were about to help Giyuu back on his feet, but at once, the ground shook beneath you in rhythmical periods.
"There's something!" Sabito breathed more to himself, but you were able to catch it with your senses suddenly heightened by the incoming rush of adrenaline. Giyuu still applied pressure to his injury, his sight switching from complete nothingness to what was happening around him.
Instantaneously, your eyes widened in horror at the demon that was trudging towards the three of you and giggled as it swallowed another kid that he managed to eat.
He was deformed to the bone, several hands hugged its tall, green body. Eyes, disgustingly big, stared at Sabito, then you and Giyuu before his hands began scratching at his skin in an anxious, excited manner.
"Ohh! Urokodaki is feeding me even more kids than usual this time! I bet the three of you are delicious! I can only imagine the face he'll make when three students won't make it back to him!"
Sabito planted both of his feed into the ground, the tip of his sword pointed at the demon's neck. "[Name], you protect Giyuu. I'll lop off the head." As soon as the words left Sabito's mouth, Giyuu was about to protest but stumbled back into your body, your arms catching him before he could trip, again.
"Be careful." You nodded at Sabito and took a defensive stance right in front of Giyuu, holding the blade right next to your head while your hands were grasping the handle tightly. As blue eyes watched your back, watched his two best friends fight, Giyuu felt as helpless as the night his family got massacred.
All he could do was watch.
Perversely large hands dashed at Sabito who leapt through those which didn't radiate murderous intent and cut off the hands aiming for his body. He jumped on one of the demon's arms, dodging a fist coming his way by ducking low and sliding along the green skin.
You blocked a fist with the help of your sword and got pushed back a few meters before you twisted the handle in your grasp, abruptly slicing through the fist from below. "Are you okay, Giyuu?!"
As much as you wanted to take a look back and check up on him, you absolutely couldn't take your eyes off the battle or else, the demon could get Giyuu or even the both of you.
While you were stepping in puddles of blood, cutting those disgusting hands off and had to focus on not taking a lethal hit, you still worried about Giyuu. It made his heart clench painfully in his chest. If only he knew where his sword was, then he'd force himself to fight alongside Sabito and you!
"Don't worry about me, [Name]!"
You were so busy concentrating on what was happening in front of you that you failed to notice the one hand underneath your feet. Before you could even think about using a breathing technique or leaping up into the air, the hand wrapped itself around your ankle and threw you away like you were nothing but a fly.
"[Name]!" Saito and Giyuu shouted your name in unison, watching in horror as you flew farther away with each second.
You desperately stretched one of your arms out in the desperate hope of being able to grab on to a branch and get back to the fight, but it was wishful thinking.
"I'll come back!" You cried out until your vocal chords protested and nearly gave in. The air in your lungs became needles. "Until then, survive, got it?! You must survive!"
"Whatever you do, you've got to survive!" Hands clinging to the katana you carried with you, you screamed at the top of your lungs one last time. Bit by bit, your friends seemed to become dots. "Survive! Sabito! Giyuu!"
Sabito clenched his jaw, teeth grinding against one another as anger bubbled deep within his heart and threatened to spill like an overflowing sink.
He charged at the demon with a yell and got so very close to the neck, ready to chop it off when his blade suddenly snapped into two.
Giyuu watched in horror as the demon used Sabito's surprised state to his advantage and smashed his friend's head in.
All he could do was watch.
All he could do was run.
Tumblr media
Agonizingly, your body collided with the hard ground and filled your mouth with blood, several cracking sounds travelled throughout your body like electricity. As you gasped for air, you nearly choked on your own blood and coughed it out, a crimson puddle lingering underneath you.
You didn't know where exactly you were nor did you know how long it'd take you to get back to your friends, but you had to find a way. No matter how much your body ached, no matter how loudly every fiber of your body screamed at you to stop, you couldn't.
It was through pure will that you managed to bury the tips of your fingers into the dirt and drag yourself to your blade lying a few meters in front of you. Your view was blurry, but you still managed to make out that the Nichirin blade Urokodaki had given you had snapped in half and it had you mentally laughing.
He was going to break your bones, wasn't he?
"Just a little bit.." You croaked out with your hand desperately reaching for the handle of the katana. Just a little bit more, just a few more centimeters and the handle would be back in your broken hand, but just before you could even touch it, your arm limply fell to the ground. As much as you wanted to move, forced yourself to go that one extra step, your body didn't listen.
Gradually, black hugged the corners of your view and the ability to hear slowly faded into nothing. No longer could you feel the ground below you or smell the scent of the trees surrounding you; opaque came to envelope you and drag you to the depths of unconsciousness.
Tears rolled down your cheeks, dampening the earth below you and eventually soaking the collar of the haori you wore. You had promised Urokodaki to come back, you had promised to live a long life, you had promised to stay by Sabito's and Giyuu's side and now, you couldn't even promise to move your finger.
"Giyuu.. Sabito.. Forgive me, but I won't make it back.."
The last thing you saw was the moon reflected in the broken blade and the red bracelet firmly wrapped around your wrist.
Tumblr media
Three days had been spent looking for you in hopes of finding you only injured, but still alive. Three days without a clue of where you could be, but Giyuu clung to the slim hope of you lying somewhere in these cursed woods, unconscious but well.
It was that thread of hope that kept his hand glued to the blade, kept his head up and forced his gaze to look ahead.
Feet had run through countless rough patches until blisters hurt Giyuu, but he simply ran through them until his feet got sore and he would be damned if he stopped running at that very moment. After all, persistence and determination would pay off, right? The strong-willed would always be rewarded after going through hell and back.
Nearing a river, Giyuu spotted a broken katana as well as smudges of blood on the ground and immediately slid down the small hill he was on. In his rush, he stumbled over his feet and fell to his knees right next to the blade which he knew was yours.
The thread of hope finally snapped.
Frantically, he scanned the area for any sign of you being alive, but all he found was the dried puddle of blood and the snapped Nichirin blade Urokodaki had given you just before heading off for this damned final selection.
With shaking fingers, Giyuu picked up the handle of the sword, hot tears streaming down his face. "[Name]..?" His voice was fragile, on the verge of breaking with every second spent in deafening silence. Giyuu couldn't find it in him to get up, his knees felt like broken mirrors which would stab into his flesh and force him to kneel, regardless of what he desperately wanted to do.
"Please, this isn't funny!" The raven-haired boy called out and tears began blurring his vision, sniffles and choked back sobs rocked his body. "[Name]!" Giyuu hugged the handle of your katana to his chest as he curled up into himself and sobbed into the new day that had just begun.
Why did the universe take away every person he loved so dearly?
First, it was his family, then Sabito and you that got ripped from his grasp, lives he treasured more than anything else, people who he would've died for.
"[Name].. You promised to come back.." The boy murmured to no one and let his eyes travel to the wristband you had made so many years ago. It was physical proof that you were always with him and never far, that he would never forget you and that your lives were intertwined like the sun and the moon.
"Give me [Name] back.."
It was at this moment that a Demon Hunter of higher rank called out to a whimpering Giyuu and brought him back to where the final selection started, a place filled with beautifully blooming wisteria.
Everyone came back.
Everyone except for you and Sabito.
How was Giyuu supposed to face Urokodaki after this?
Tumblr media
Lead flowed through every single vein as Giyuu dragged himself back to Urokodaki's home, body heavy with the strain of surviving for 7 days straight, but compared to the gilt gnawing away at his heart, it was bearable.
If only he hadn't gotten injured, then maybe Sabito would still be alive, standing right next to him with an equally aching body but still smiling through the pain because they would've made it.
If only Giyuu had gotten to the river a bit earlier, you'd be swooning over Urokodaki's food and excitedly tell the elder man about all the achievements and experiences you gained. You, too, would be alive and smiling.
The young boy stopped dead in his tracks as his blue eyes spotted Urokodaki chopping up some wood with an axe which the former Hashira dropped when his gaze fell upon Giyuu.
Sadness lingered in Urokodaki's nose and was quick to mix with relief of still being alive, yet Giyuu reeked of regret, grief and sorrow. He couldn't blame the young boy. Urokodaki knew how attached Giyuu was to Sabito and you. The three of you would always train together, share food among one another like you were siblings and cut worries in half simply by being present.
Giyuu was desperately trying to bite back new sobs and tears, since Sabito would be the one to say that a man should suffer in silence. On the other hand, there was you who looked so upset when he once tried to hide an injury from you.
"Stop acting tough." You had once said.
The entire sky came crashing down on Giyuu as he felt his teacher's arms wrapping around him to welcome him home, to express gratefulness that he made it back.
"Sabito and [Name]!" Giyuu could no longer hold his tears at bay, they freely rolled down his cheek like waves crashed into the shore. It was too much and yet not enough. "Urokodaki-san! They.. They..!" His voice broke a little more with each word that Giyuu tried to force out of his throat, but the lump of sorrow cut through his vocal chords.
"I'm glad you're back," was all Urokodaki managed to say and he hoped it'd take a bit of weight off the young boy's shoulders. He feared that if he tried to speak any more, he would cry more than he already was, as well. During the time as a teacher, Urokodaki had lost so many of his students who grew on him ㅡ Sabito, Giyuu and you were no exception.
Sadness poked around deeply in his heart, but it was Urokodaki's duty to make sure that his student wouldn't be overcome by his current despair. He knew Giyuu would be able to overcome his sorrow and grow into a good person.
But first, time needed to heal the wound which was still bleeding so heavily.
Giyuu rubbed his eyes dry with the sleeve of his haori, took off the small bag he carried on his back and showed Urokodaki the broken blade which had belonged to you. "Do you.. Do you think it can be fixed?"
Urokodaki took the two parts into his hands and was surprised at how jaded the blade was. It didn't even cut his finger like it was supposed to and the color had disappeared from the sword like it had never been wielded by anyone in the first place. "That can be arranged. I'll ask Haganezuka."
Two weeks passed when Haganezuka arrived with two swords in his hands and nearly lost his mind when Giyuu said that he wasn't a dual wielder and only needed one blade.
"You little..! What do you mean you can't wield both?! It'd be disgraceful not to wield both Nichirin blades!" Haganezuka screeched loud enough for his voice to echo through every corner of Mount Sagiri. It took so long to make the broken sword look like it had never been broken and this brat didn't even think about testing it out!
Giyuu never pulled the blade out of the sheath as you were the one who should do it and witness the change of colors with your own eyes. "I'm sorry." It wasn't necessary to let the swords smith in on the details when he was a stranger. A weird stranger, at that.
"Sorry doesn't cut it!"
Despite the strange encounter with Haganezuka who was oddly dedicated to his craft, as Giyuu would put it, the sword was always held close to his heart. It was a reminder of the life Sabito and you gifted him, that he should work harder to be able to protect those around him.
When Giyuu climbed through the ranks and was able to afford his own estate, the first thing he had hung up was the sword you fought with.

It was 8 years later when bare feet danced on the wooden floor like water flowed through the river. No unnecessary steps, elegance connected every single move like stars made up beautiful constellations which left people in awe each and every time.
Several women watched with parted lips and sparkling eyes as this person was a constellation herself, someone they could learn and profit from if they watched closely enough. But they knew that this level of accurate and controlled movements required not only effort, but talent as well.
When feet ceased to float and the music humming in the background died down, one woman in particular ran up to the young dancer, manicured nails squishing the full cheeks together. "Isn't she amazing?" Mizu nearly squeaked with pride and reddened cheeks while receiving agreeing nods from the other women.
Mizu was an oiran living in Yoshiwara, a red light district. She was rather beautiful with her opaque hair kept into a bun and held together by golden hairpins, her lips painted crimson and fair skin, although most of her pale skin was thanks to the help of make-up.
"[Name] really is amazing," one of the women said smiling, her palms on her lap as she agreed with Mizu.
Such praise was often thrown your way only because Mizu was in the room. No one dared to openly point out your mistakes and actively help you improve your skills, so you had no choice but to ask the women yourself when Mizu was out of hearing-range.
This issue wasn't the only thing keeping everyone on the edge of their seat.
Whenever a severe mistake happened, that woman was sure to disappear within the next night. Stomping could clearly be heard, you swore the mere sound gave off a murderous intent so intense that it left you shaking underneath the security of your blankets.
When asking if one of your fellow workers could also sense the blood lust every once in a while, they said no. Apparently, they couldn't feel the immense anger creeping throughout the house like you could which left you confused. However, the fact that your senses were so sharp and sensitive to blood lust made you wonder if you had lived a different life before you woke up in Yoshiwara.
Actually, you were sure that you had lived differently before finding yourself in Yoshiwara, but your memories were erased. Proof of your previous lifestyle were your calloused palms, the small scars on them which the other women always pitied you for as it apparently wasn't fit for a lady to have rough palms.
Then there was this wristband which you wore for a reason long forgotten.
All you could remember was your name when you one day woke up on a tatami mat underneath a safe roof with several women in the room. You couldn't answer a single question regarding your past, the years of your life suddenly drowned in black as you tried your best to remember what happened, what caused the pain in your body, but it was no good.
"Thank you for your kind words. If you'd excuse me." As you turned around to leave for the bathrooms, you felt Mizu's eyes on your back and you knew that she had nothing but love swimming in her dark eyes, and yet, you sensed something much deeper, so much darker lurking within them that a shiver rolled down your spine.
One woman responsible for today's cleaning stood next to the highly-respected oiran. "Wherever you picked [Name] up from, it's a gift you found her. She might as well take your place someday, Mizu-san."
A gift you were indeed, but the way you danced bugged Mizu. It reminded her of the fighting techniques of Demon Slayers. Filthy. "Yeah. Who knows what might've happened to her if it was someone else that found her.." Mizu brought the sleeve of her kimono up to her lips, hiding the lower part of her face and tilted her head to the side as she watched you disappear behind shoji doors, briefly remembering where she had found you nearly a decade ago.
"Oh my, what a poor thing." Mizu knelt down to where you laid on the ground, your breathing was shallow and your hand outstretched as if reaching out to the sword in front of you. Manicured nails pushed your bangs out of your face and traced the bruises along your cheek and neck, feeling that your jaw was, indeed, broken.
"You'd look beautiful without all these ugly stains," she mused while twisting a strand of your dirtied hair around her index finger, crimson red lips frowned at the miserable state you were in. So far gone, you couldn't even hear her voice, feel her touch.
Reaching behind her head, Mizu took two hairpins out of her hair and styled your hair into a bun, the hairpins keeping the look somewhat together. You reminded her of the daughter she once had before the small child suddenly died. Mizu desired nothing more than to have her daughter back and you were the perfect fit.
"You'd make a beautiful oiran, one day. Maybe I should make you my daughter." Mizu smiled into the night at the thought of having a daughter, such a stunning one, too. With her, you'd be better off than with those filthy slayers if the sword in front of you was anything to go by. She could give you all the riches you desired, all the kimonos, money, men and women you could ever want.
Those Demon Hunters could only offer you death.
"From today on, you'll be my lovely daughter," Mizu cheered and poked at your cheek to maybe gain a reaction, but all she heard was an incoherent mumble of names she had never heard of. Unimportant, these people no longer mattered.
Carefully, Mizu picked you up with a smile and disappeared into the night.
Tumblr media
The water was pleasantly warm against your skin as you washed the heavy make-up off your face, several colors went down the drain and no longer stuck in place like a mask. Luckily, you didn't have to show your face to any outsider that night, or else the amount of make-up would suffocate you.
A sigh escaped through your lips when your eyes landed on that red wristband, the threads wet and soaked with water, but still perfectly intact. You didn't know why, but your heart always ached a little whenever you thought about its origin and the possible memories connected to this little item.
Maybe someone important gave it to you?
Maybe that someone was looking for you and could help you regain your memories!
Ah, what were you thinking? Stuff like this only existed in romantic novels. 8 years had passed and no one had ever looked for you, you were certain of that. No had ever asked around for you, no one had ever put up a picture of your face, no one had cared enough.
Whenever you'd ask Mizu about where she found you and what you did before joining the house she lived in, she brushed you off, saying that it was time for your Japanese class, time to practice calligraphy or dancing, when in reality she only wanted you to be distracted and busy.
"Maybe I should give up and just live with it..," you mumbled into the towel as you dried your face. At least, you would no longer anger Mizu or make the other women nervous when asking anything regarding your past.
Having made up your mind, you trudged back into your empty room. No matter how many paintings you had hung up, no matter how many clothes filled your wardrobe and no matter how much jewelry Mizu made you wear on your hands and neck, it was empty.
You were lucky to live, but were you really alive or simply a shell of who you used to be?
After countlessly tossing and turning, your body finally found some rest and dragged you into a deep slumber.
Tumblr media
Streets filled with people were never one of Giyuu's favorites. He preferred executing his job in the mountains where he wouldn't have to hide his sword from the police and didn't have the stress of potentially having to protect a large number of people if a demon was to show up.
One good thing about cities was the food. The steaming bowl of ramen warmed Giyuu up from within as the chilly evening breeze nipped at his cheeks, tinting the flesh a faint shade of red.
"It's almost unbelievable that a demon is supposed to be here. Right, Tomioka-san?" Shinobu sat next to Giyuu and enjoyed her own portion of food. Just behind her back, people chattered away and children played tag with each other, from somewhere further away, she could even make out the faint strumming of an instrument.
Apparently, a demon was hiding somewhere in Yoshiwara. Every few months, women, prostitutes, to be more specific, suddenly disappeared and had never been seen again. Of course, the rumor of those women losing her footing had spread, but this was as waterproof as paper.
Those women had never shown signs of wanting to run away with a man. Love letters were never found nor did they suddenly receive a good amount of money or saw someone especially frequently.
"Demons can hide anywhere." Giyuu's ears picked up how some men asked for some lady's services and briefly, the thought of a demon hiding in a brothel crossed his mind. However, he had never heard of a demon seeking refuge in such business since those places were too crowded to commit a proper murder.
"You're not wrong about this." Shinobu sat back in her seat and put her chopsticks on her empty plate before something caught her attention. What was this red bracelet around Giyuu's wrist? Had it always been there or did he get it recently?
A teasing smile tugged the corners of her lips upwards as she rested her chin on her palm, an index finger pointing at Giyuu's wrist. "Tomioka-san, did you get that wristband from someone special? I didn't know you were the type to be so romantic!" She chirped.
Blue irises gazed at the red threads laced into one thick wristband which was usually hidden underneath the sleeve of his uniform or haori, so no one really ever saw it. "It's nothing like that." Despite his nonchalant words, Giyuu couldn't help the small smile tugging at his lips.
"Eh?! Are you smiling?!" Shinobu could hardly believe her eyes and felt a shiver run down her spine. This was..scary.
"..We're here to look for a demon, aren't we?"

Attentively, you sat close to a river, eyes wide and scanning the area for a familiar mop of black hair tied into a low ponytail. From afar, you could hear an old man giving someone the instruction to become one with the water in order to master the breathing techniques.
Just a moment later, a yell echoed through the mountains followed by a noisy splash and the yell got cut off.
"___-san really threw him into the river, huh," you chuckled as you remembered how you nearly drowned the first time the elderly man tossed you into the river like a rubber duck. Now it was the boy's turn.
Minutes of silence filled the space around you, only the water flowing in front of you filled the tranquil space and then, several gasps shattered the peaceful atmosphere.
The boy you had to look out for coughed up water as he dragged himself out of the river, his body soaked to the bone and what was that on his hand? Blood? He possibly cut himself on a stone underwater.
Leaping up from your seated position and jogging over to your friend, you gave his back a few firm smacks until he breathed normally again. "I feel like ____-san really wants to kill us," the boy looked up at you, but..you couldn't see his face. It was black.
"Speaking of dying. What was that on your hand?" you spoke and tried to get a look at the boy's hand, but he quickly hid his hands behind his back, pressing the back of his hands against his lower back. "___, show me!" You insisted and eventually, your friend showed you the cut on the back of his hand.
The cut wasn't deep, but it still bled profusely down his wrist. Clicking your tongue, you reached into your pocket and revealed simple bandages which you always kept with you in case you got injured. "Why didn't you tell me you were hurt?" The boy saw the upset look on your face, brows furrowed and your eyes scolding him.
Wasn't it his friend that said that a man should bear his pain in silence?
"I'm sorry, [Name]," he avoided your gaze, focusing on the bracelet you had once made for him, instead. It was better than having to bear the disappointment in your eyes.
"Stop acting tough." You tied the bandage around the boy's hand a bit too tight, making him flinch at the pain shooting through his hand. It was unusual for you to be so rough. "I'll always find out if you're hurt."
In a cold sweat, gasping for air, you suddenly sat straight in bed. Your heart pounded against your ribcage, your sleepwear was drenched in sweat at your neck and back, the fabric clung to you like a second skin. Putting a hand on your chest, you tried your best to control your breathing, but the more you tried, the more you could feel a headache stinging in the back of your head.
Whatever you just saw, it was a mere dream, right? Yet, one could usually hear names and see the faces of the people appearing in a dream, but whenever names fell, they were muted. Whenever you saw a face, it was covered in black.
They were nameless, faceless people.
Perhaps, this was a memory?
"Crap," you hissed as the stinging got to your eyes like a migraine and roughly pushed the blanket off your body as you got up to maybe talk about it with Mizu or someone else. Yes, you promised not to bother anyone with your dreams or past, but this left your hands and mind shaking.
Carefully, as to not make any noise, your bare feet padded along the wooden hallways, every shoji door was shut and no light was on, indicating that all of the women were busy with men downstairs. What a pain, you thought. Keeping married and single men pleased at night was something which never appealed to you, even though Mizu had raised you to possess the needed skills.
Lost in thought, you nearly missed how the light of several candles lit up a single room, the shoji door wasn't even fully closed. You finally found someone!
"I'm sorry for bothering you this late at night, but I was wondering ifㅡ"
You were greeted by the sight of blood being smeared across the wall and pooling right at your feet, bones sticking out from the corpse of the woman who had praised you earlier. Your head screamed at you to run, but your body didn't listen. It was itching to reach for something that wasn't strapped to your hip.
"It's a shame you had to see me like this, [Name]." Opaque hair was loose, red lipstick got replaced by the dead woman's blood which was also dripping down claws.
Mizu tossed the corpse away from her and faced you, slowly approaching you with cold steps. Her pupils were no longer round but resembled that of a cat. Smirking, she watched as your legs trembled in fear when she delicately cupped your face in her hand. "I promised myself to never eat you unless you saw me killing someone. But maybe it's exactly because you are my daughter that you'll be extra nutritious."
Horns made of bones stuck out from Mizu's head, resembling the ears of a bunny. At that very moment, you heard a voice inside your head.
"Some demons devoured so many that their bodies are deformed. It ranges from mere horns to multiple body parts and extreme growth spurts."
"Demon!" You gasped, pushed Mizu away from you with all the strength you had in your arms and made a run for it. Splinters dug into the soles of your feet, but you didn't care. What mattered was your survival, your life, the life Haruto and Tsutako left behind for you!
Wait, Haruto and Tsutako..? Who..?
You stopped dead in your tracks, the sound of Mizu's traditional heels rhythmically clicking against the floor haunted you.
Fleeing downstairs was no option. Innocent lives could easily be taken by Mizu and there was no way you could protect all of them when you couldn't even properly protect yourself. Panic-stricken, your eyes found nothing but paintings decorating the walls, a mere fan and a..
A katana!
Grabbing the katana from the wall, you held it with both hands as tightly as you could, the tip pointing at Mizu's neck.
"You're hilarious, [Name]! Don't tell me you're remembering now when it's too late." Mizu pushed some of her hair behind her shoulder as she laughed at your poor attempt to take her down. However, it seemed like your body was beginning to remember whatever a fragile human once taught you and it wasn't like you had completely forgotten how to move, either.
A laugh shook the demon's shoulders as she stretched her palm out and let a bone grow from her skin. Mizu pointed the sharp bone towards you, shooting it in your direction with the expectation to heavily injure you and kill you in the end.
What she didn't expect was the way you vertically cut through the bone, letting drop to the ground uselessly. Your jaw was clenched, eyes wide open with sweat trickling down your forehead and the katana in your hand like it had always belonged there.
"I don't know what you're saying, but I know that I can't let you live!" Zooming right in Mizu's face, you aimed for her stomach to weaken her, but she was faster. Grabbing your head, she effectively put you off-balance and rammed another bone into your side as if she saw no daughter in you.
"You've always had a funny side to you, but right now, you're looking like a jester. You, killing me? Not even you are that dumb." Mizu wore an unimpressed expression as you fell to your knees and coughed up blood. Hastily, you ripped a good amount of fabric from your yukata and tightly wrapped it around your waist to slow down the bleeding.
The demon never stopped you. Sooner or later, you'd faint and die from blood loss. This was nothing but a fool's attempt to desperately prolong their end.
"That katana can't kill me. As a former Demon Slayer, you should know that only a Slayer's blade and sunlight can kill a demon." A swift kick to your face had blood dripping down your nose, but your palm wrapped itself around Mizu's ankle tight enough to make your arm's veins pop, tight enough to prevent her, a demon, from moving.
"Breathing Techniques make it possible for a human to gain demonic strength themselves. But unlike demons, a human's stamina is limited."
Within a moment, Mizu's ankle was in your hand, her blood flowing down your forearm as you tossed the cut off limb away. Immediately, you pulled her into a close-range fight, but the several bones beginning to stick out from her body pushed you further away with each step you took. The sharp bones left cuts on not only your face, but your arms and legs as well.
"I don't care if it can't kill you! I refuse to go down without a fight! I'll simply keep you busy until the sun rises!"
Tumblr media
Searching for that demon in Yoshiwara was a lost cause.
No one had any suspicions or those people were just too scared to talk, fearing that they might mysteriously disappear, as well. The tension in Yoshiwara spread far and wide, yet there wasn't even the trace of a demon to be found.
"We can't talk. Otherwise, we'll disappear, as well."
"Those women are said to have lost their footing, but.. No, it doesn't matter."
"..Whatever are you talking about?"
Excuses upon excuses. But Giyuu could hardly interrogate simple passengers and ask them about the existence of a being which they were unaware of or didn't believe in.
Frustrated, he shut the shoji door of his home and sighed.
Suddenly, a shrill clink bounced off the plain walls of Giyuu's home and as he raised his gaze, he saw the Nichirin sword ㅡ which was supposed to be yours if you had survived ㅡ on the floor, the steel shone in the moonlight peeking through the windows of his home.
His heart felt heavy as he wondered what color your katana would have become, how you would've wielded it, how bright your smile would've been if you had had the chance to receive it.
Giyuu picked the colorless weapon up, wanted to put it back on its place at the wall when suddenly his kasugai crow landed on the window sill, cawing so loudly that it made his ears ring.
"[Name] who was assumed to have died in the final selection 8 years ago, needs backup fighting a demon!" The old crow impatiently bounced around, wings already spread and ready to take off. "Hurry to Yoshiwara! Hurry, hurry! "
"[Name]..?" Gradually, Giyuu's usually calm gaze widened and filled with infinite questions while he was wordlessly staring at your sword. Why were you alive and how in the world did you survive? Why did you never come back? What held you back?
With a flick of his wrist, he hid the plain Nichirin blade in the sleeve of his mismatched haori and was out of his home faster than the crow could perceive.
The Hashira couldn't be late. He couldn't be late, again.
This time, he'd be the one to protect you.
Tumblr media
"Get out of here!" You cried to the people who had been very obviously enjoying themselves with alcohol, food and women until Mizu had kicked you through the floor which was also the ceiling of the floor below.
No one seemed to fully realize what happened, reality only kicked in slowly when they took note of your battered form and Mizu coming down the stairs as elegantly as ever, but the blood on her and the aura she radiated created nothing but fear.
All of a sudden, they screamed and ran, talking about a monster possessing their beloved lady who was attempting to kill one of their own.
Making sure that everyone got out safely was a mistake. You didn't even realize Mizu leaving her spot on the stairs as she was suddenly right in front of you, way too close to be considered a safe distance. Crap, there was no way you'd get out of this unscathed.
The bone sticking out from Mizu's palm aimed for your right eye, ready to pierce through your skull and put an end to the prosperous life you could lead thanks to the demonic woman. In an act of despair, you swung your katana vertically in an attempt to cut off her arm, but Mizu just smirked as the blade got stuck, not even budging a centimeter, anymore.
This was it. This attack would be your downfall, you thought.
"Water Breathing. Second form: Water Wheel."
You stumbled backwards, falling on your knees and all your eyes could catch was Mizu's arm suddenly dropping to the ground along with the katana stuck in her flesh. Blood stained the carpet an ugly red, a loud hiss came from Mizu's direction, her pupils shaking and mouth unusually quiet.
"A..H-Hashira..?" Claws digged into the flesh of her palm bit by bit, her fist shook and goosebumps were scattered across her skin. Just the mere aura of that Demon Slayer terrified her; he was way too calm and yet she could feel racing anger bubbling underneath the surface. No, she couldn't let a mere human intimidate her. What ridiculous excuse of a demon would get intimidated by a man wielding a sword?
Hashira..?
Looking up, you saw the broad back of a man wearing a mismatched haori but what stood out to you was the red wristband he wore. It looked like the one around your wrist but could it be the same? What were the odds of two strangers wearing the same red bracelet? Impossible.
A sudden sting in your head interrupted your running mind.
"Besides, you must always remember that I'm never far and always with you, okay?" A blush sat upon your cheeks as you intertwined your pinky finger with Giyuu and brought them up to eye-level, tying him into a promise of a lifetime.
Fingers tangled themselves into your hair, pulling at the roots.
"Stop acting tough." You tied the bandage around Giyuu's hand a bit too tight, making the boy flinch at the pain shooting through his hand. It was unusual for you to be so rough. "I'll always find out if you're hurt."
Panting, you closed your eyes shut until it hurt. Why did you feel like you knew the man in front of you?
"Whatever you do, you've got to survive!" Hands clinging to the katana you carried with you, you screamed at the top of your lungs one last time. Bit by bit, your friends seemed to become dots. "Survive! Sabito! ...
..Giyuu!" You finally yelled the man's name out like he was the answer to everything you had been looking for, like he was the missing piece to the puzzle of your life. Unknowingly, tears freely flowed from your eyes, making the cuts on your face sting and burn.
A quick move of his wrist was enough to flick Mizu's blood off his sword. "Don't you dare touch her!" Giyuu wasn't one to lose his calm demeanor often, but what he absolutely couldn't stand was the ones he cared for getting hurt, bruised, made to suffer.
You wiped the blood trickling from your mouth away with the back of your hand, lips tugging themselves upwards as you pushed yourself up to your feet once more and stood next to Giyuu. "I'll fight with you. This is a personal matter."
Giyuu was about to protest, tell you to leave this place, but the sharp shimmer cutting through your eyes immediately took down every word that was on his tongue. Never had you backed down from a fight, never had you let anything break you, never had you ever given up.
Wordlessly, he let the katana he hid in the sleeve of the haori, slide into his palm and handed it to you. As soon as your fingers were wrapped around the handle, the blade turned into a clear baby blue, several shades lighter than Giyuu's Nichirin blade.
"I'll handle the bones. You go for the head."
Giyuu dashed ahead while you cut your way through the maze of bones sticking out from wherever Mizu desired, her attacks got rougher as if she was suddenly frightened. Good. "You brat! Do you really think one more person would be enough to claim my head?!" Mizu stomped her foot once.
That stomping.. You were familiar with it.
It'd occur once every few months before a woman would go missing without a trace. This action always frightened you as the murderous intent in it was so overwhelming that unconsciously, tears would brim your eyes.
Quickly, you grabbed the back of Giyuu's haori and slid to the side with him before several rib-shaped bones dashed up from the ground, their sharp tips shining underneath the chandelier. If you hadn't been so familiar with Mizu's blood lust, you were sure you would've been pierced pork by now.
Thanks to the sliding, you had gotten close enough to Mizu, giving you the perfect opportunity to chop off her head before she could cause any more pain and damage. "Go!" You cried out loud enough for your voice to crack and swung your blade at Mizu's face to slice her horizontally, the demon stopping your blade with her bare hands.
"Water Breathing. First form: Water Surface Slash."
Giyuu had gotten behind Mizu and let his katana cut through the flesh of her neck, the head of the oiran sliding off her shoulders and her body collapsing to the ground. "Impossible!" She screeched in nothing but anger and disappointment at you.
"You ungrateful bitch! I saved and raised you and this is how you repay the favor?! How dare youㅡ!" Tears streamed down her cheeks while you were looking at her with a drained expression. Bruises and cuts stained your skin, not to mention the stab wound in your waist which was still bleeding. Bangs hid your eyes from her view, the smell of ash was strong in your nose.
"I'm very thankful that you raised me, gave me food and a roof above my head. I will never forget that. But making humans suffer by letting them die a painful death, eating them without a shred of guilt in your guts.." The grip on the katana's handle tightened in anger, sadness and grief as you remembered your brother, mother, Tsutako. All those people who were so brave and kind and dead. "Savior, Mother, whatever you are. I absolutely won't forgive you for this!"
"Do you think that matters?! You're nothing but a whore I raised! You, too, won't go to heaven and I'll wait for you in hell!" Before Mizu could spit any more words, her head and body dissolved into nothing, not even the ashes remained.
Slowly, you turned around to face Giyuu, a peaceful smile lingered on your lips as you stumbled towards the one your heart had been missing for longer than you could think. Strength left your hand and the katana Giyuu had tossed you earlier fell to the ground. "Giyuu.. I'm so happy you survived.." You tripped over your own two feet, about to fall, but it was okay.
Giyuu caught you.
"[Name], I.." He spoke, but soon noticed that you had fallen unconscious with your cheek pressed up against his chest, eyes closed and breathing so calmly in his strong arms. Serenity was written all over your face, despite the dirt, cuts, blood and pain you went through. You were at peace with Giyuu around just like when you two were children.
His stoic mask shattered as he pressed your unconscious body flush to his and buried a hand in your hair, his knees giving in and meeting the floor with a dull thud. "I'm so sorry I didn't find you earlier." Giyuu buried his face in your neck as he softly cried against your skin, a wave of immense relief hitting him at once.
At least, you weren't dead like the Hashira believed for nearly 10 years.
"I swear I'll make sure to protect you."
Tumblr media
The sun was warm on your skin, gentle eyes focused on a blue butterfly which had entered through the open window and rested on your index finger. Its small legs tickled you ever so slightly and you struggled to hold in a giggle at the feeling.
After having fallen unconscious for a day or two, you woke up at the Butterfly Estate where three very sweet girls awaited you coming back to reality; you learned that their names were Sumi, Kiyo and Naho. They brought you everything you needed and frequently kept you company.
With your eyes opening once more, you also regained your memories. You remembered everything from the day you lost your parents, to the training with Urokodaki, Sabito and Giyuu, to the point you had desperately tried to reach your katana and passed out. Although a little bit of regret lingered at your soul, you couldn't find it in you to be upset with yourself.
Life continuously knitted several paths for one to take, but it was up to several strings of fortunate and unfortunate events alike which path they'd lead one on.
Anyone could say you were unlucky to have lost your memories and had to part ways with the ones you loved the most. But if you thought about it, you were very lucky. So very lucky that Mizu had taken you in, that she fought you and that a string of fate decided to intertwine Giyuu's and your path once more.
The butterfly on your finger flew away as the shoji door slid open and revealed no one else but Shinobu who had watched over your physical and mental state after the confrontation with Mizu. The Insect Hashira was incredibly kind and you felt like you developed some kind of friendship with her.
As she sat down on your bed to give you the last bit of medicine you had to swallow, you couldn't help but notice her eyes lingering on your wristband.
"How come you like Tomioka-san?"
You nearly choked on the pills, heat warmed up your cheeks and the tips of your ears while you stumbled over your words like a child tripped over rocks. "I-I what?! It's nothing like t-that, Shinobu!" Comically, you shook your head and threw your arms around as if that would convince the dark-haired woman.
"Oh? But Tomioka-san has the exact same wristband and when I asked him about it, he smiled. Do you know how scary that was?"
You couldn't bite back the laugh that ripped through you at Shinobu's words. The fact that Giyuu seemed to smile so rarely that it was considered creepy when he did it, was both ridiculous and funny to you.
On the other side of the shoji door, Giyuu wondered what could possibly make you laugh so much. He didn't ponder too much on it since this was a sound he hadn't heard in so long and was actually quite fond of. Not that the Water Hashira would ever say that out loud.
As Giyuu stepped inside, he was immediately greeted by your warm smile and despite the bandaids on your face and bandages around your arms, he was taken aback at how pretty you were. Even after 8 years, you still made his heart feel a certain, funny way with little to no effort at all.
"I guess I should leave the two of you alone. Although I can't deny that I'm surprised you like Tomioka-san enough to willingly be alone with him."
"I..am not disliked by people."
"That's all you have to say?" Shinobu wondered out loud and left the room, the shoji door closing behind her with a dull thud bouncing off the warmly-colored walls.
As Giyuu sat with you on the bed, you couldn't help but notice that his facial features got much sharper over the years, his demeanor became stoic, but you were quick to figure out that Giyuu hadn't grown jaded. Those he cared about, he would show his emotions to.
"Giyuu, Iㅡ"
Whatever you wanted to say got blown away as you suddenly found yourself in Giyuu's arms, your chin resting in his broad shoulder while his hands grasped at your clothes as if you were to disappear if he held you any lighter. "All this time, I thought you were dead."
Wrapping your arms around the tall Hashira, you easily melted into the heartfelt hug and felt relief as well as happiness prick at your eyes. You couldn't cry now. "I'm right here, Giyuu. I told you I'd never be far, remember?" Each syllable was a bit shakier than the previous one, but it made the feelings in your heart only grow firmer and deeper.
Affectionately, you wrapped your pinky around Giyuu's and brought the two intertwined fingers up to eye level while resting your forehead on his own. You basked in the closeness with the one you'd been aching to meet, swam in his calm aura and felt your heart skip several beats as if it had fallen.
A lump found home in Giyuu's throat and effectively cut off any word he could dream of saying. He wasn't used to anyone getting this close to him, wasn't used to someone being affectionate and gentle with him. And he certainly wasn't used to seeing your serene face after so, so long.
But he liked it.
"I'd never forget," Giyuu quietly confessed and felt your breath fan over his cheeks, a delicate smile tugging at his lips as the promise from your childhood was renewed. It was the first time you had seen Giyuu smile and contrary to Shinobu's words, it was the most beautiful thing you had ever laid your eyes on.
Step by step, the sun began disappearing behind mountains and dipped the sky in a beautiful mix of orange, blue and pink. Soon, the stars would light up the sky and the moon would shine brightly.
But with the sun setting, it also meant that demons were about to crawl out from whatever hole they hid themselves in.
"Grab your sword, [Name]."
"Huh?"
Giyuu knew he was about to weave you into a life which could never be described as safe or domestic, but he never forgot that you had already decided to become a Demon Slayer when you two were children. He had seen the way you fought, backed him up and sensed a demon's blood lust.
After all this time, you never truly forgot who you were.
"It won't take long until the demons come out. Let's go."
You nearly fell from your bed as you hastily reached for your sword and a bit of confusion lingered in your mind. Just what was Giyuu thinking? It was hard to tell with his face barely moving like it used to.
"I never officially passed the final selection," you sighed and looked at the sword in your grasp which was once broken, lying right in front of you. "I can't just go with you..can I?"
Giyuu could feel doubt and insecurity seeping from you which definitely wasn't characteristic for you. When you fought Mizu, you were hell-bent on defeating her, despite the injuries you took. Was it guilt from back then making you doubt..?
"What happened 8 years ago is unfortunate, [Name]." Pitch black bangs threw a subtle shadow over Giyuu's eyes, but his voice was, dare you say, soothing. "But if you still want to fight, then I'll train you until the next final selection. Going on patrol with me is considered training."
It was okay for you to become a swordsman once again, right? Urokodaki didn't put you through hellish training and taught you everything he knew just for you to quit. With Giyuu's help, you could surely put an end to the existence of demons. Yes, you could do it!
Confidently, you strapped your Nichirin blade to your waist, grabbed Giyuu's hand and pulled him through the hallways of the Butterfly Estate until you were finally outside. "Then what are we waiting for? Training is about to begin!"
Faintly, Giyuu could hear Shinobu, Aoi and the three girls bid their goodbyes. His eyes fell down to your hand holding his tightly with the wristbands nearly touching one another.
Perhaps, you were really bound by the wrist and though the red threads got heavily tangled along the way, it never got severed.

Gundham, Kazuichi, and Mikan with an Ultimate veterinarian S/O
warnings; light cussing, unedited, inaccurate depictons of what vets do, gender neutral pronouns for reader, gn!reader
Request; Hi there! Can I request gundham, kazuichi, and mikan with an Ultimate veterinarian S/O? Maybe they have wild animals by their side all the time :) thanks!
Gundham
◊ Gundham would trust you 100%
◊ He relies on you a bunch.
◊ Knowing that you are a veterinarian who loves animals, is all he needed to know to trust his life and the dark devas life with you.
◊ Gundham is pretty protective and careful with his devas, so if anytime the devas showed signs of a small sickness, he’d immediately go to you.
◊ He’d be so concerned for his devas so he would always go to you to see what’s wrong.
◊ Most of the time, the devas are fine and Gundham was just being a worried dad.
◊ But you’d be lying if you said you didn’t get a biiiiiiit happy every time he rushed into your clinic with a worried expression on his face.
◊ You assure him that his devas look fine, but he still insists you check them thoroughly.
◊ As usual, they are fine and he looks relieved.
◊ Though actually, one time he had faked his worry for the devas so he could have an excuse to see you.
◊ He was planning to ask you out while you examined his loyal companions.
◊ “So erm, how are my dark devas doing? Perfectly, I assume.” He spoke in his low tone of voice. “Well, Maga-G, Sun-D and Jum-P are doing fine. Except for Cham-P, he may be a tad dehydrated. If you monitor him carefully and make sure he drinks water, he’ll be good.” Gundham nodded with a nervous but confident grin, words not quite hitting his ears yet, “Indeed, so would you like to- Wait WHAT-?” Gundham paled, registering your words a bit too slow and freaking out.
◊ “Cham-P iS DYING?? WHAT WILL I- Oh goD-” Gundham hyperventilates, grabbing your hands unconsciously and squeezing them so tight it slightly hurt.
◊ “Please, S/o, save his life!!”
◊ You looked at him with surprise, face heating up at the sudden touch.
◊ ”G-gundham, Cham-P isn’t dying, he just needs to drink more water.” You cut off.
◊ Gundham suddenly froze, face heating up from the realization of his hands in yours.
◊ “O-oh, I see my mistake.” You laughed at his reaction, relishing in the feeling of his hands still resting in yours.
◊ “So what did you want to ask me earlier?” Gundham’s eyes widened, “Oh uh- I was just wondering if... Yo-you’d help me nurse Cham-P back to health?” He chickened out at the last minute, mentally scolding himself for losing his confidence.
◊ Though you knew that wasn’t what he meant to say since you had told him about Cham-P after he had tried to ask you something, you still accepted happily.
◊ Your animals and his dark devas had a few debates as you and Gundham helped Cham-P drink from the water nozzle thingy.
◊ “Water is not wet.” Maga-G scoffed, examining his nails. “Okay but, water makes things wet, so how is it not wet?” Your bird argued, looking at Maga-G with disbelief. “I have to pee.” Jum-P blurted out, hopping back inside the cage to do his business. “Can I come!?” San-D followed suit, hopping into the cage as well.
◊ “What do you think they’re talking about?” You questioned, looking at the animals argue.
◊ “Obviously, they are discussing their plan to destroy the world. My dark devas have the intelligence of a god!” Gundham boasted, staring at the dark devas with pride.
◊ “-No, you’re wrong, I’m right, shut up.” Maga-G ended the argument unfairly, stomping his foot down(if you get the reference, ily).
Kazuichi
◊ Kazuichi would be scared when he first saw you walk by with your army of animals following you.
◊ “I-is that a tiger!?”
◊ He’d be kind of intimidated by you at first, not wanting to get on your bad side and have your animals maul him.
◊ Other than your army of animals catching his eye, he thought you were pretty cute.
◊ Though he was itching to ask you out, he was too scared to go within 5 meters distance near you.
◊ He’d kind of just, scream cheesy pick-up lines to you.
◊ “HEY S/O! ARE Y-” “What!?” “ARE YOU-” “Can you come closer!? I can’t hear you!” “HAHAHA, N-NEVERMIND IT’S NOTHING!”
◊ Eventually, Kazuichi warmed up to your animals(it’s kind of the opposite really-).
◊ Funny story how actually, Kazuichi was working on the underbelly of his machines, and he needed his wrench. Assuming Fuyuhiko was still there—Which he wasn’t—, he asked for a wrench.
◊ (un)Luckily for him, one of your dogs had been there, and it had picked up the wrench and brought it to Kazuichi’s outstretched hand.
◊ “Thanks, Fuyu.” He accepted the wrench, expecting a grunt of ‘You’re welcome.’
◊ He, however, did not expect a very loud, “BORK!” in return.
◊ He screeched, wincing as he jolted up and hit his forehead on the hard metal underneath his machine.
◊ Not long after the bark echoed through the area, you had come running, your forehead creased from worry.
◊ “Oh, there you are!” You huffed out in relief as your eyes caught sight of the familiar coloured fur.
◊ You looked down at Kazuichi’s bottom half sticking out underneath from a machine, hearing a groan coming from him.
◊ “Kazuichi?” You squealed when you heard a- “S-s/o!?” come from underneath the machine, A “BANG!” following after.
◊ “Ow- U-uh hey S/o..!” He greeted waving his hand awkwardly from underneath the metal.
◊ “Uh, A-are you going to come out?” You asked, concerned for—what sounded like—his head injury.
◊ “U-um nope. It’s uh, it’s cozy underneath here.” He refused politely, not wanting you to see his red face.
◊ Literally red(or pink??) face; Blood had been running down his fucking forehead from the two hard bonks against the metal.
◊ The dog could smell the bullshit(and the blood) emitting from Kazuichi’s words, and bit gently onto his sneaker, urging out a scream from the pinkette.
◊ It pulled him out from underneath the machine, revealing his bloody forehead.
◊ You gasped in shock as you hurried him up to his feet, hastily bringing him to your clinic.
◊ He blushed at your close proximity, letting you drag him to a waiting seat.
◊ He watched warily as your animals ran into the backroom of your clinic, bringing you medical supplies as you carefully examined his forehead.
◊ The animals watched you two as you disinfected his forehead, making Kazuichi nervous from the many tiny animal eyes glaring into him.
◊ He tensed as he felt a ferret climb his shoulder, clenching his eyes shut.
◊ The ferret kissed him on his forehead, leaving you and him speechless.
◊ Well shit, the ferret had more confidence than you.
Mikan
◊ Mikan thought your ultimate was pretty cool!
◊ Since you were both in the medical field, you two had many things to talk about, therefore getting along unsurprisingly well.
◊ At first, she was a bit scared of your big animals, your small ones not so much.
◊ All your animals seemed to really really like her, and they’d be pretty protective of her.
◊ If Teruteru had said something perverted to her, one of your bears would maul him.
◊ Everyone cheered as the bear kept on swinging TeruTeru’s arm in its jaw.
◊ That one time Hajime made Mikan cry, one of your lizards had slipped off Mikan and bit his finger.
◊ “Not cool, Hajim-“ Nagito started, before glancing down on his bloody finger, “Oh shit, are you okay??”
◊ There’s always at least one of your animals stuck onto her just in case she gets picked on by Hiyoko or TeruTeru.
◊ They always have her back!
◊ If Hiyoko insulted Mikan for no good reason, the monkeys would pull her pigtails whilst the cats quickly ran to her dorm to shit inside it.
◊ Hiyoko stopped messing around with Mikan after that.
◊ Those times she trips and falls in very inconvenient positions, the animals cover her or scare everyone else away until you or someone trusted comes and helps.
◊ As the animals always have her back, she always has theirs.
◊ If someone tried to attack one of your animals, she’ll cover the animals and take the hit for them.
◊ Though before anyone could get hurt, your tiger had already pounced on the assaulter, tearing off their pants and watching as they ran away from the humiliation.
◊ If you’re busy healing one of the animals and can’t take care of the rest at the moment, Mikan will be your number #2 and she’ll help in any way she can!
◊ She remembers each animal’s feeding time to heart, never forgetting to feed them or give them water.
◊ She cherishes the animals almost as much as she cherishes you.
◊ She adores how kind you are to the animals and her, falling in love with your sweet personality.
◊ Mikan kind of becomes your wife and the animals being your shared children together.
◊ It’s really cute when you see the animals cuddle up to her while she pets them, it just makes you want to get on one knee.
◊ You are indefinitely thankful for her care, you’re sure you love her.
◊ Sooner or later, you two finally get together.
◊ All thanks to your animals actually, they did that classic nudge where you two kissed on accident.
◊ After you two get into a relationship, expect lots of cuddles.
◊ Correction, expect lots of cuddles with the animals.
◊ They regularly interrupt your quiet time with her by climbing in between and around the two of you, creating a safe and warm barrier.
◊ As you’re always caring for your many animals, you sometimes forget to take care of yourself, so she’d also make sure you were okay too.
◊ Since she was the ultimate nurse, she knew humans better and so she knew when you weren’t taking care of yourself.
◊ She would get concerned for you as you overworked yourself, therefore reminding you to take care of yourself-
◊ Before immediately apologizing for her worries, afraid you thought she was clingy.
◊ After assuring her you could never think that she was clingy, you promised her you’d take care of yourself, kissing her worried tears away.
◊ You’d do anything for Mikan, and she would do the same.
note; sorry if it’s a bit rushed!! i hope you enjoy anyways though, tysm for reading!

Word count: 2.303
Author’s note: I had so much food the past couple of days 😂So yea, despite the Christmas days having been weird at best, me and my bf had quite a bit of fun - and a whole lot of romantic dinners to kill the time. And ..now we’re talking romantic dinners..

‘Black or purple, what do you think?’ Henry held up the two ties before Kal, the dog tilting his head left and right, as if deciding which one was better. The answer was apparently quite simple according to Henry’s dog; with an excited huff the Akita jumped right up in Henry’s face, licking him all over.
‘Yea, yea, hahahah - that’s the goal. Hahahah. You got me there. So..no tie, then?’ He pushed the dog back down and ruffled him through his thick fur. Kal borked softly and Henry agreed. ‘Very well, a little less formal is probably better, you’re right. We’re having a date at home, anyways.’
Henry breathed in deeply and looked in the direction of the kitchen, his stew simmering on a low fire as he heard Phoebe rummage upstairs, some closet cabinets opening and closing in a mildly hasty manner.
With Henry still in full recovery, it was decided that it would be best to just stick to a cute home dinner for their first dinner date since his memory loss - just to avoid any overzealous fans that would disturb him in a restaurant after the news had been released that he had suffered a serious head injury in a motorcycle accident.
The accident had left many scars. Both physical and mental. It was weird to be here at home now more people lived here, the kids on a prolonged stay with the grandparents while Henry and his wife recuperated from the shake-up his - their - life had had.
In the past days Henry had seen about every specialist and doctor in the book. He went from lengthy couch sessions with a psychologist - the story of the introduction of his kids having been received with mild horror - to the keeping of sleep and medication schedules with his doctor to make sure he got enough recovery and rest in between re-learning the basics of his new life.
The fact that a good many people surviving such head trauma would never be the same, troubled Henry greatly, and so whenever he was allowed to search the internet, which was sparingly, he scoured it like a starved man, the printer in the living room doing over-time to print all the articles and research he had found.
But, all that research would have to wait for the moment. First he’d have to get reacquainted with another part of his life: his wife. And even now as he heard her rummage around the master bedroom, he couldn’t help but feel his heart flutter with nerves.
What if she didn’t like the new Henry? What if he couldn’t fall in love with her. Or the sex would be awful, or..
NO! Stop those thoughts.
Looking back in the hallway mirror, he unbuttoned his blouse a little further, a little peek of chest hair popping out over the sleek white fabric.
‘Button up or down?’ Henry looked over at Kal, but the dog thought his human dad was being ridiculous, his body turning around to trod back to the kitchen to slobber up some water.
‘..Very well then.’
--
It was near surprising how easy dinner went by. Which of course, shouldn’t be too much of a surprise; Henry and Phoebe had several dinners at home before this one, though they never had been quite so romantic. Henry had turned the lights down low and lit some candles, the kitchen radio playing some soft jazzy music playing in the background.
With dinner over and the dirty plates returned to the dishwasher - the dance of moving around the kitchen together now quite well practised, they ended up on the couch, the both of them sipping on some tea, since it was strongly advised not to consume alcohol after Henry’s brain injury.
‘So...’ Henry finished the last sip of his tea and placed it on the side table next to his right elbow, his blue eyes searching for his wife’s slightly dazed expression - she did have a wine or two with his stew.
‘Hmm?’
‘Are you falling asleep on me, wife?’
‘Hahaha you wish.’
‘I do wish.’
‘Oh stop it!’ Her cheeks burned a bright pink, making Henry chuckle - at least he still got some of his charms.
‘I WAS actually wondering about what you mentioned earlier. When I asked you on this date..remember?’
‘Yea…’ She lifted her legs and crossed them, snuggling herself more comfortable in her nook on the couch, lips blowing over her slowly cooling tea.
‘What did you mean by “we never really dated”?’ Henry quoted the last words with his fingers.
‘Oh!’ She quickly looked away, her hands deciding it was best to put her tea away on the side table on her side of the couch. ‘Yea….’ She looked back at Henry. ‘That’s a funny story..’
‘Mmm?’
‘Okay, okay. So, I’m just curious. How do you think we met?’ Her eyebrows rose in expectation, her body fully turning towards him, legs still crossed before her chest. Henry also turned slightly, his arm stretching out over the back of the couch, his fingertips just about able to reach her knees.
‘Hmm. I’ve actually thought about that. Though of course I don’t know. But ehh..’ He squinted his eyes a little, as if playfully wanting to guess. ‘I think I met you on set.’
‘How’s that?’
‘I don’t know. Just a feeling.’
‘Well. It’s not. Try again.’
‘Okay..Ehm, then I totally met you at the grocery store and hit on you so hard that you thought I was some weird creep?’
She laughed. ‘That has happened. Not with you though.’
‘Shame.’
Phoebe laughed and shook her head. ‘Dork.’
‘OH! A comic book store?! A Comic Con? A..’
‘No, and.. no.’
‘Alright, I don’t know. Spill the beans, wife-dear.’
She shot him an exasperated look, before clicking her tongue. ‘We shagged at an after party.’
Henry’s face blanked. ‘I’m sorry, say that again: AT an after party?’
‘Yea..we definitely did it AT the after party.’
‘Was I drunk?’
Phoebe laughed. ‘Shit Henry. Of course we were. We both were. I wouldn’t for the life of me shag anyone on any party, but there we were, fumbling hands and tearing expensive dress shirts in a toilet stall.’
Henry’s eyes widened at her words.
‘Yea..classy, right? And you left me a little present too.’
‘We’re not talking about just a phone number here, huh?’
‘Nope. You knocked me up with our ray of sunshine, Sam. Funny thing was that I lost my phone that night, and with it your number. I then contacted your assistant, Aunt Lea, whom TOTALLY didn’t believe you’d do anything of the sort, so it took me a good three months to get in contact with you.’
‘Holy crap.’
Phoebe sighed deeply and turned away again, as if wishing to shut out Henry from her thoughts. ‘Yea, it’s been a wild ride.’
‘Wait.’ Henry pushed himself a little closer so he could brush a hand over her shoulder, his eyes searching the curve of her nose and the pull of her lips. ‘Do you regret it? It’s okay if you do. I mean, we’re all out, bums out - besides I can’t remember a thing of the things you just said.’
Phoebe shook her head. ‘No.’ She finally looked back up at Henry, her eyes a lot more warm and welcoming than he had expected. ‘I was already smitten with you before I rang this doorbell to give you the happy news you were about to become a dad...and I’d have kept sweetheart Sam either way the wind would have blown.’
‘Sam..Fixing his dad and all.’ Henry smiled.
‘Gods.’ Phoebe chuckled. ‘That was bad.’
‘Kinda. I’ll need some help with managing that rowdy bunch.’ Henry sighed, feeling Phoebe’s hand reaching out to brush through his curls again - he liked it.
‘I had a good night.’ She said.
Henry looked at her and instantly felt his heart flutter, his stomach dropping and palms going sweaty. It was quite obvious that IF he wanted to make a move, he’d have to do it now. And so, with perhaps a bit too awkward a hastiness, he scooted closer to Phoebe, his black burning eyes staring down into her expecting dark blues.
‘I liked it too. I like YOU..too.’ He breathed, making her eyes also grow darker by the second.
‘Good,’ She whispered, switching her focus between his left and right eye, noses slowly crawling closer to one another until their lips were but a breath away from touching.
‘Can I kiss y..-?’
His words lingered somewhere in between the crashing of their two bodies, Phoebe’s arms eagerly pulling him towards her, her lips savouring the taste of mint tea and musk on his tongue. And as eagerly as they started, so eagerly it to-tal-ly escalated. In moments Henry had flipped her flat onto the couch, his hands scorching the skin on her neck and chest, fingertips teasing and touching whatever piece of flesh her simple black dress revealed.
‘FUCK.’ She whined, turning her head to offer him more neck for him to bite down into.
Henry growled and lowered his hip, making her feel the eagerness he felt in the tightness of his dress pants, the fabric strained around his crotch.
‘Oh gods,’ Her breath hiccuped and were it not for Henry’s attentiveness, he wouldn’t have picked up on the tears that had started to spill from her eyes, his body immediately pushing back up before he wiped the stray hairs in her face away, worried eyes studying her trembling lips and blurry gaze.
‘I-I’m so sorry.’ She mumbled, turning her head into the couch pillow, wishing to hide from his penetrative gaze.
‘No, no. It’s okay. Sshhh.’ He sat up on his haunches and pulled her with ease onto his lap, his chin pressing down onto her head as she cried into the open V of his shirt, his chest hair wetting with her agony - yep he kept it buttoned down. ‘Sshhh.’ He hushed, pressing more and more kisses into her golden hair. ‘I’ve got you.’
‘I’ve missed you so much.’ She whimpered, and it was in that moment Henry hated himself for the way his erection twitched beneath the plush of her thighs, his mind having to focus on anything but her scent and warmth - and failed. Henry failed miserably, Bee’s head starting to shake “no” as she pushed herself off his lap.
‘Fwooo…’ She breathed, focusing on slowing her breath before she looked back at Henry with watery eyes, their bodies separated by the magic of opposing magnetic energy; if Henry tried to come closer, she leaned back and vice versa.
‘Maybe we should give THAT a little more time.’ She chuckled through her tears, the back of her hand wiping away the smudge of mascara that was running down her cheek.
‘I’m sorry about that.’ Henry muttered, feeling like he had failed completely, though thankfully Phoebe could only see the hilarity of it:
‘Guess nothing much has changed in that department.’ She sighed and turned her body back towards him. ‘Is it okay if we sleep apart for a little bit? Just to..-’
‘Calm down?’
‘Yea.’ Her lips curled in a smile.
‘I’m not really used to sleeping with women on the first date anyways.’
Phoebe laughed, poking him in the bicep. ‘OH PLEASE, don’t tell me I was the only one you ever..’
Henry laughed along and shrugged with boyish innocence: ‘Can’t remember, but from what I know, I ...never..’
‘Will you go on another date with me though?’
Henry let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He was pleased with her gentle plea, his hand catching hers to press a sweet and tender promise of a kiss onto the back of her hand. ‘Absolutely.’
--
That night Henry found himself bunking up with a bed full of stuffies, the bed of his 4-year old the only one he could somewhat fit into.
Turning towards the stuffies, he remembered the notes his wife had given him in the past days: Sam had a stuffy named Mr. Stinky, which he had left behind to watch over his other friends while he was away.
Henry studied the line up of rabbits, elephants, bears and foxes. Which one was Stinky anyways? His wife had said it in between a avalanche of other information, so Henry hadn’t quite managed to catch on like he so wished.
‘Oh..There’s a LOT to learn huh..Mr Stinky? Or ..were you Mr Stinky?’ He looked from stuffy to stuffy, the large beady eyes looking back at him in silence. With a slight smirk on his face Henry pushed his nose into their fluffy bellies, inhaling deeply to find out which one would be Mr. Stinky. But, apparently it was just a name; they all smelled fine.
Rolling onto his back, he switched off the Mario mushroom shaped night light, the ceiling above glowing up with a hundred small stars that had been put up to keep the nightmares at bay.
‘Woa..’ He breathed, feeling his heart flip at the idea that everything about this was real. He had kids. He had..a wife. A family life. And now all he needed to learn was how to fit into his new role. This new ..Henry. And, for the fuck of sakes: if he wasn’t going to jerk off soon, he’d jump his wife before the night was through. It was quite clear how they had never made it to a first date; she simply made his heart and loin ache in a way he had never quite felt before.
Sighing deeply he looked back at the dark row of judgmental beady eyes next to him. He chuckled.
‘Yea...let’s not do that here.’

Dori woke up from his bed time be greeted by his face covered in fog saliva. Fanta the dachshund continue's to lick his face, demanding his owner to wake up "I'm up, I'm up Fanta" Dori said as he pets Fanta's head.
Fanta just barks, happily wagging his tail. Fanta got down from Dori's bed and walked out of his room. Dori checking the time on the clock that is on his bedside drawer "7:30 AM..." He mutters as he checked the date on his phone "Sunday...I HAVE WORK-...wait..my manager said that I don't need to go to work today..huh, how did I forget about that??" Dori slurs as he lays on his bed again, going to close his eyes.."BORK BORK!" Said Fanta "Yes, yes I'm uuuppp" Dori groans as he pets Fanta on the head.
Dori gets in the bathroom and took a shower, after that he dried his hair and bangs that are not covering his eyes. He got dressed and went down stairs to be greeted by Fanta again, but this in a sitting position "First we eat breakfast and then go on walkies okay?" Fanta growls a bit "Hey bud I know you hate walks but you have to get your exercise and stay healthy. What? You wanna be like our front neighbor Kento?, he's a lazy hooman and never likes to do anything but pick up things with his feet!" Fanta whines by hearing Dori's words "Good, that means you don't want to end up like him" Dori smiles as he walks to the kitchen,Fanta following him.
Dori taking out dog food from the kitchens cabinet and shake it a bit, receiving a bark from fanta "first, we need to get our tummies filled up and then we go on a walk" Dori walks to the room that was right beside the entrance, where Fanta's dog bowl and dining room is at. He poured in the food as Fanta gave him a bark and began to eat.
Dori doing the same thing as he walked to the kitchen and started to get some Nori and egg from the fridge, he grabbed a bowl and put rice in it as he cracked the egg open as it landed on the rice, he began to mix the rice and egg with chopsticks until it was well mixed.
He grabbed the Nori and sprinkled it on top of the mixed egg and rice, he grabbed some sesame seeds and sprinkled it on top of the other ingredients. He grabbed another egg from fridge and cracked it open again just to fall on the rice but this time he's not mixing it "Ah..nothing is more delicious than Tamago Kake Gohan,I'm glad that I have all the ingredients cause I didn't went shopping for groceries yesterday" He said as he sat on the dinner tables chair while eating and watching Fanta eat happily, his doggy tail wagging side to side.
After eating he washed his bowl and drank some water. Going back to the dining area to see fanta laying down of the floor with a full stomach and a cute expression on his face as he looks up at Dori while licking his nose "Why are you so cute?" Dori asked as he picked Fanta up from the floor holding him. Fanta laying his head on Dori's shoulder as Dori sat him down near the front door.
Dori going up stairs and putting on black hoodie that has a say 'sakura da festa' it's the hoodie that he made just for his fans also known as his merchandise hoodie. He grabbed fanta's collar and harness as he walked back down the stairs, Fanta still in his sitting position.
He put's on the items on Fanta "Okay l, now we can go on walkies" Fanta barking at him as he opened the front door. Fanta now on a leash walking fastly, Dori trying to catch up behind him "Hey! Where are you two going?" A voice said. Dori pulled on Fanta's leash a bit so that Fanta would stop walking, Dori looking at where the voice is to see His neighbor from across his house Kento Yamazaki "Just taking Fanta on a  walk, what are you doing today Kento?" "Nothing much..i'm bored. Can I join?" Kento asked, Dori smiles and nod's.
Now it's just the trio, Walking a dog. Kento now holding Fanta's leash and Dori beside him. They walked past the animal park that was near their neighborhood, they decided to go there and let Fanta make some new friends. Getting to the park they sat down on a wooden bench "Okay Fanta my sweet little potato buddy!, you can go play with the other dogs but don't go too far okay?" Dori said to fanta as he unclip's the leash from Fanta, Fanta barks as he runs away to make some new friends.
"Is this a coincidence?, I didn't know you two are here. and Kento I thought you were a cat person?" Some one said, they both stopped talking to each other as they both look up to see their friend Shuntaro Yanagi that is holding the leash of his white dog Merry that was now looking up at the three in confusion "Well i'm just taking Fanta on walks with Kento here, he's playing with the other dogs right now..over there!" Dori say's, as he points at Fanta that was playing with another dog "Ah, I see. Same with Merry here, she needs some sunshine too, would you mine if I sit here?" Dori and Kento nods as they move away for Shuntaro to sit in the middle "Okay, you can go and play with Fanta and the other dog's now girl, just don't go too far away from us okay?" Merry barking as Shuntaro released her for her leash as she runs away to Fanta.
"Geez why are dog's and cat's are so cute?" Kento asked, as he looks at where Fanta and Merry were playing, the two dogs playing with a black and white ragdoll cat that was playing Fanta's tail "That cat is cute" Kento said again as tge ither three boys that were older than him laughed.
After that they all said their goodbye's and leave. fanta peacefully sleeping on his dog bed that is right next to Dori's bed as Dori slept in his bed hugging his black body pillow.

Last Goodbye, First I Love You
TW: Violence, swearing
Based off a tik tok post by baubaddies. Follow them, their amazing!
Y/N’S POV:
This is it. I guess this is how I die. Honestly, I thought I’d go down in the midst of some big gun fight, not in a dark basement held hostage by an unsub. A little disappointing if you ask me. “Okay. We just have to wait for the team to get here. We’ll be fine.” Spencer murmurs. I nod in agreement. I hope he’s right.
It all started with a case. The unsub was a psychopath, who kidnapped victims and forced them to choose who dies. He would select one victim and ask them to choose between saving themselves or their partner. He always let the other victim go, true to his word. We finally caught up to him when he caught us.
We had gotten jumped by the unsub. He took down Spencer, and when I came to help him, he got me. Now, we’re locked in a basement and tied up. Spencer sits in a chair across from me, his wrists and ankles secured to the chair with rope. He struggles against the ropes, but they don’t budge.
“Spencer, stop. You’re going to hurt yourself.” I tell him. He takes my advice and stills. “Whatever happens, you have to choose yourself. Promise me you will.” Spencer says. “Spencer, I can’t-” I’m cut off by the door flying open. The unsub walks in, gun hanging by his side. He stands in front of us.
A sick grin appears on his face. “Two FBI agents. This is going to be fun.” He hisses. His eyes switch between the two of us, trying to decide who to pick. I hope he picks me. I can’t let Spencer get hurt. I’ve never told him this, but I love him. With all my heart. I couldn’t live without him, knowing I’d condemned him to his death.
The unsub’s eyes land on me. I heave a sigh of relief, but fear fills me. He walks over. “I’m going to kill someone. You get to decide. Either I shoot you or I shoot him. Choose.” He tells me. I don’t even need to think.
“Kill me. Let Spencer go.” Spencer’s face falls. “No. No! Don’t do this. Kill me! Leave her alone, please!” He screams, struggling against his bonds. The unsub levels the gun at my head. “Please! Don’t hurt her! I love her!” I freeze. He loves me? “Hm. Looks like you told her too late.” The unsub growls. He cocks the gun. “Any last words?” He asks.
I take a deep breath. My eyes meet Spencer’s. “I love you too, Spencer. I always have. But you have to move on from me. I want you to be happy. I love you, Spencer Reid.” Spencer is crying now, tears running down his face. He keeps pulling at the ropes, trying in vain to get free.
I close my eyes. I’m ready.
BANG.
Pain. Fire spreads through my body. I hear screaming. “Y/N, stay with me, you have to stay with me!” Spencer shouts. He’s running over to me. Things are blurry. The team found us, but they found us too late. Everything goes dark.
                                                *****************************
My eyes open. The light blinds me. I blink a few times. Is this heaven? My vision clears. I look to the sides. I didn’t expect heaven to have terrible paintings on the wall. I hesitate. Everything comes rushing back. I’m alive? How? I start to move, waking up my body. “Y/N?” Spencer comes rushing over. He helps me sit up.
“What happened?” I grumble. Spencer smiles at me. He takes a seat on the side of the bed. “You got shot. But your okay.” He tells me. I look down. Bandages cover my chest. “But what about the unsub?” I ask. “Hotch shot him. He’s dead. That’s why the bullet hit your chest instead of your head.” Spencer explains.
“Thank you Hotch.” I whisper. Spencer smiles. “Do you- do you remember anything?” He questions. His eyes search mine. I nod slowly. “Did you mean what you said?” My heart beats fast. Spencer nods. “Did you?” I nod. He grabs my hand, holding it tight.
“I thought I lost you. I was so scared. I love you, Y/N, always have. I loved you from the moment I met you. I loved the way you could make me laugh, your bad jokes, your smile. Everything about you.” Spencer tells me.
“Spencer, I’ve loved you for a long time, but I’ve been too afraid to say anything. And I’m so happy you feel the same way. I just wish we’d confessed under better circumstances.” I chuckle. Spencer laughs. He looks at me. “Can I... can I kiss you?” He asks. I don’t give him an answer. I just press my lips against his. And it’s absolutely perfect, like it was meant to be.

Lovelink Fanfic
Tumblr media
I’ve been really inspired by Loveline’s soldier boy date, so here’s another chapter. I’ve tagged everyone who clicked like, commented or reblogged the first chapter as it’s a new fandom and there aren’t a lot of ‘us’. If that offends you, please let me know and I’ll take you off the list, absolutely no offence taken xx
Tumblr is borked anyway and I’ll be delighted if half of you get the tags...

2 Getting Aquainted
While Albert showered, I all but ran around my bedroom, shoving clothes into drawers and cupboards, kicking shoes under the bed and generally doing my best to convert a messy room into an enticing boudoir. I thanked my lucky stars that I’d changed the sheets and hoovered the floor that morning, even if I hadn’t tidied up. It wasn’t long before I decided it was as good as it was going to get in the time available and dashed through to the kitchen to get tea lights. In the drawer I discovered a packet of fabric faux rose petals and took them back with me to the bedroom, scattering them over the bed and floor and placing the candles around the room.
I quickly changed my cotton nightdress for a slinky slip and a silky robe to go over it, lingering for a moment in my lingerie drawer and picking out a pair of lacy panties. I sprayed a little perfume into the air and stepped forward to let it cling to my clothes and skin, and took a quick look in the mirror, rearranging my hair. From the bathroom next door I heard the water stop, and rushed round carefully lighting the candles and turning off the light.
I arranged myself in a sultry pose on the bed, and waited. Before long there was a firm knock on the door.
‘Enter’ I called, and he came in. Albert had dressed in clean camouflage shirt and pants, and stood to attention just inside the doorway. He saluted sharply, face still impassive as I mentally undressed him. I noted he was barefoot.
‘Reporting for duty Ma’am’ I got up smoothly and moved toward him.
‘At ease, soldier’  He relaxed his stance, but stood still before me. I walked around him, doing my best to slink and brush softly against him. I saw the slightest tremor in his jaw as he stood stock still.
‘Apart from the lack of footwear, you’re very well presented, soldier’ I purred
‘Thankyou Ma’am, I aim to please. I presumed army boots are not required in the bedroom.’ His voice quavered as if he was trying not to laugh. He cleared his throat, stood straighter and set his mouth in a determined line. When he spoke again his voice was steadier ‘What can I do for you, Ma’am?’ I stood in front of him and gently tugged at his lapel.
‘You said you looked good in camouflage, and you weren’t lying, but I’d like to see under the uniform, soldier.’ He lifted his chin and looked beyond me, over my shoulder.
‘Just give me orders and I’ll follow them, Ma’am’ he barked. I sighed. The roleplaying was a little too realistic for my liking, but I was sure I could get him to crack. I stepped back.
‘Take that uniform off, soldier’
‘Yes Ma’am’ He relaxed a little and started to unbutton his shirt.
‘No need to be neat, Private’ He frowned slightly at that.
‘Sergeant, Ma’am’ he corrected me. I pursed my lips
‘You’re whatever rank I tell you, soldier. Is that understood?’
‘Yes Ma’am’
‘As I was saying, private’ I dragged a finger down over his breastbone, and his breath hitched a little. ‘No need to be neat, just drop those combats on the floor’ He nodded, biting his cheek, and carried on unbuttoning his shirt until it revealed his chest and abs, rock hard and lightly peppered with dark hair, and dropped it to the floor. He looked me in the eye, brimming with confidence - he was teasing me, and I needed to kick things up a notch.
‘Soldier, do you want to be on report?’ I frowned
‘No Ma’am’ he was definitely cracking as a grin threatened to break his expression.
‘Then drop and give me ten’ He had a faint smirk on his face as he dropped to the floor and started powering through the pressups – one armed - I’d just ordered, then leapt back up to attention.
‘Very impressive, soldier. Now don’t move unless I say you can’
‘No Ma’am’ He was fighting not to laugh. Well, if he was going to tease, two could play at that game. I stood back and unfastened the belt of my silky robe, letting the front swing open to reveal the slip underneath. I saw him swallow, his adam’s apple bobbing, and his faint smile faded.
‘Like what you see, soldier?’ I asked. He nodded, and I wondered how much faster his heart was beating. In the candlelight I couldn’t quite see the veins on his neck, but thought perhaps I was having the desired effect. ‘Do you want to see more?’ I added.
‘Yes Ma’am’ He replied hoarsely. I let the shoulders of the gown drop a little but turned my back, looking over my shoulder as I let it slowly slide down to my waist, pausing before letting it drop to the floor. I turned back to face him, knowing that my nipples hardened and pushed against the fabric of my short slip that just grazed the top of my thighs. He made a faint noise somewhat like a whimper, and I was rewarded by seeing the tenting of his pants as he stood waiting to be told what to do. I sashayed toward him.
‘I must say you’re very good at following orders, soldier’ I said in a sultry tone ‘are you ready for more?’ He swallowed again and nodded
‘Yes Ma’am’
‘Then don’t stop – I told you to get that uniform off, didn’t I?’ I saw him gather himself together, confident in his task. He held eye contact as he unfastened his belt and unbuttoned the front of his combat trousers, pulling at the waistband and bending to push them down to his ankles before stepping out of them. I had already noted his lack of footwear or socks. That was a definite plus, as there is nothing less sexy than a man wearing only socks. He stood in his briefs, hands behind his back so my eye was drawn to his groin.
‘Soldier, did I or did I not tell you to get undressed?’ I snapped.
‘Ma’am, you told me to get out of uniform. These…’ he indicated his boxer briefs ‘are not standard issue, Ma’am’ he smirked. I rolled my eyes - the roleplay was over.
‘Albert…’ I started, exasperated
‘Gotcha’ he grinned ‘Now, do you have any more orders for me – Ma’am?’ I sighed
‘Yes, get over here and kiss me, you big hunk’
‘Don’t have to tell me twice’ he said, and surged toward me, wrapping his arm around my waist and pressing me to his hard body, his lips claiming mine. It was some time before we broke apart, and my heart hammered in my chest and my legs felt like rubber.
‘How did I do as your commanding officer?’ I asked breathlessly
‘Not bad, but I’d not get much work done if you were my superior’ He nuzzled at my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
‘Oh yes? Tell me more’
‘We’d never get out of the bedroom’ he chuckled. His hand crept under the hem of my slip, his skin cool against mine. He smelled clean and fresh with just a hint of musk. His fingers skimmed over my hips and up to the small of my back, then back down under the lace waistband of my panties. ‘Oh, those feel nice’ he murmured in my ear ‘But you know where I’d like to see them?’ His palm cupped my buttocks and pulled me against his erection. My heart was doing things I’d not felt for a while  and I was dizzy with desire.
‘Let me guess - on the floor?’
‘Mmm hmm’ he murmured. ‘I can’t help but notice that you have far too many clothes on’
‘What, just the slip and panties?’
‘Yup, definitely overdressed’ he nuzzled my neck again.
‘You’ll have to let go if you want me to remedy that’ He sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. I stood on wobbly legs, and got hold of the hem of my slip, to slowly raise it over my head and drop it to the floor. He took a sharp breath as it passed my breasts.
‘Oh Ma’am’ he said quietly ‘You are perfect’. My heart hammered in anticipation as I stood in my lacy panties and he sat in his boxer briefs
‘We’re even now’ I said huskily ‘What next?’
‘Come closer’ he reached his hand out and I took it. He pulled me nearer, widening his legs and drawing me in so my thighs rested against his and looked up at me. ‘I need to see you naked’ I nodded assent and gasped as he carefully slid his fingers into the waistband of my panties, lowering his gaze to my belly as he slowly drew them down. He groaned as he slid his hands round to my buttocks, continuing until he pushed the flimsy damp fabric down my thighs, and inhaled deeply
‘You smell spectacular’ he sighed as they dropped to my ankles. He looked up at me again ‘I need to know how far you want to go’ he said ‘My control only goes so far’
‘I’m on birth control’ I answered ‘but to be on the safe side…’ he nodded
‘I have protection in my trouser pocket’ he said hoarsely ‘Is that okay?’
‘Yes’ I whispered ‘I want you, Albert. I want all of you’
‘Thankyou Jesus’ he groaned, and let go of me, rolling off the bed and going to retrieve condoms from his trouser pocket. My eyes widened as he produced a pack of twelve. He grinned ‘Better safe than sorry, and I didn’t know if you’d have any’
‘I’d have stocked up if I’d known you were coming’ I said tartly, sitting on the bed to ease my shaking legs. He stood in front of me, his groin at my eye level.
‘So, I need to get rid of these’ he indicated his bulging briefs ‘Wanna help me, or shall I do the honours?’
‘Give me a show, soldier’ I said
‘What the lady wants, the lady gets’
‘So cheesy – get on with it’
‘So ungrateful yet so needy’ he retorted ‘How about some sexy music?’
‘Really?’ I grumbled ‘Just. Take. Them. Off.’
‘Mmm bossy too, I like a woman who knows what she wants’ He laughed at my exasperated expression ‘Okay, okay, message received and understood’ He reached down over his washboard flat abs to slide his thumbs under the elastic in a way that made me wish I’d chosen to undress him. His smile was seductive as he pulled the elastic forward over the bulge. My eyes widened in anticipation, but he turned his back to me, running his thumbs around and drawing his briefs down to expose his buttocks.
‘Oh, nice’ I remarked ‘very firm’
‘You like?’ he said over his shoulder ‘speaking of firm…’ he turned again to face me and pulled the elastic over his straining erection, at last pulling the fabric free of his groin and letting it drop to the floor. I stared at the sight in front of me. Like his build, Albert’s cock was shorter than average, but made up for it in girth. I found myself gaping, wondering how it might feel when he…
‘You know, silence is a little intimidating when a guy shows a girl his junk’ he remarked. ‘I’m pretty sure I complimented you on your physique’
‘I – wow’ I replied, then looked up at him, shaking my head to clear it ‘Very nice, soldier’ He strode toward me
‘More than nice. I’ve been told it’s – and I quote – fucking amazing’
‘That’s a tale I don’t want to hear’
‘Well, I didn’t want you to think I’ve never used it before’
‘The thought never entered my mind. Now get over here and prove it, soldier’
