The Rainy Night - Bi-Han
Masterlist
Characters - Bi-Han, Tomas (Smoke), Kuai Liang, Bi-Han’s parents
Summary - Bi-Han dozes off and dreams about his childhood while his father lays there, dying.
Word Count - 2017
Warnings - Angst, minor character death, sibling jealousy, ED hints, grief, descriptions of dying,
A/N - Wrote this for a good friend of mine. It did not turn out the way I had planned, but I guess that's the beauty of writing, yeah?
Tumblr media
If Bi-Han were to think back on his childhood, a majority of his memories would involve his father. Being the eldest son and future Lin Kuei grandmaster meant his father always had a major presence in his life, more so than his younger brothers. Saying every memory was a positive one would be an absolute lie; screaming matches and hidden, frustrated tears - tension only increasing as he entered his teenage and adult years. Hell, even if Bi-Han recalled a moment his father wasn’t physically in, his looming presence affected his daily life and personal relationships.
“Bi-Han!” a childlike voice calls out to him. He turns around to see Tomas entering his bedroom. Tomas looked younger, with soft, relaxed eyes that kindly look at his brother; a shorter stature that Bi-Han teased would never grow taller; but a face that was so unlike his and Kuai Liang’s it frustrated him. Bi-Han never knew the true reason his father took in the young boy and made him a - false, as he would argue - Lin Kuei, but it often brought out an insecurity he would never admit existed. Were he and Kuai Liang not the type of sons to be proud of? Did he think Bi-Han would be a poor grandmaster, and was Tomas secretly being groomed to take the throne?
Bi-Han can rationalize, saying that his father and Tomas have no underlying intent, but it doesn’t make looking at the boy’s smiling face any easier. He glances in a small mirror across the room. Soft is the layer of baby fat that plumps his face. It melted away with age, revealing his hardened and stern expression. But now? He feels fifteen again. Tomas soon regains his attention as he starts speaking.
“Kuai Liang and I haven’t seen you in ages. We would be grateful if you ate lunch with us,” he smiles. That fucking smile that never fails to make Bi-Han feel guilty.
Bi-Han just scoffs. “There are ways I could better spend my time.”
“But, brother, I never saw you at breakfast this morning. You must be hungry,” he smiles again.
“Your concern is wasted, leave me.”
Bi-Han is now a bit irritated. Why can’t he just take no for an answer? Maybe the better question would be: why couldn’t he just say a quick no thank you? Why was communication so difficult?
“Father is there too, I believe he wishes to speak to you, brother.”
Great. The last person he wanted to talk to. Now he definitely doesn’t want to go. Why won’t he just leave him alone?
“Father will be concerned if you don’t go,” Tomas says. The way his face twists into one of concern is annoying. It takes everything to not roll his eyes.
“Then tell him I am ill.”
“But Father-”
“You share not one drop of blood with him,” he finally snaps, his eyes narrowing at Tomas, “he is not your father, nor am I your brother.”
The room is silent, and the air is polluted with tension. Tomas’ face is bright red; out of sadness or out of anger, Bi-Han doesn’t know. What he does know is that his lashing out was very unnecessary. His irritation shouldn’t have been taken out on Tomas, it’s unfortunate that the words ‘I’m sorry’ are too foreign to fall from his lips. Not a word is uttered as Tomas walks out the room, his footsteps are heavy and the sound pounds in Bi-Han’s ears.
Once again, Bi-Han is left alone with his thoughts. The silence would deafen him if it wasn't for his mind constantly berating him for this moment and every other mistake he’s ever made. He collapses on his bed and further berates himself for the tears that start to burn his eyes, Pathetic. Just pathetic. Bi-Han begs the tears to not fall, not today please.
But they do.
Gentle rain slowly rolls down his face, the only difference is that now he feels younger. Quiet sobbing is somehow picked up by Bi-Han. Call it a sixth sense, if you will - one that was taught through many months of training. His head snaps in the direction of the barely audible sound. Bi-Han’s eyes soften to see Kuai Liang crying into his hand, choking back sobs that threaten to expose his sadness. His face is tiny, red, and wet, unlike the tall and strong man that he would soon grow into. His body is sprawled on the ground, too distraught to even stand. A wave of brotherly protectiveness washes over Bi-Han. Who dared to bring pain to his brother? If only Bi-Han could remember what exactly this memory is, then he’d be able to dish out some vengeance. He tries to remember, but everything feels hazy and spotty.
Suddenly, Kuai Liang notices Bi-Han’s presence and drags his body over to his brother, collapsing into him, and bringing the man - well, boy - to the ground. Bi-Han stiffens as Kuai Liang cries into his shoulder. Emotions have never been his strong suit. Their mother was alway the strong, comforting shoulder to cry on. Maybe their mother could help Kuai Liang. Just where is she?
“Mother is gone…I can’t believe she is truly gone,” Kuai Liang wails.
Oh, oh.
She’s dead.
That’s why his brother is crying. That’s why Bi-Han has been fighting to stop the tears that continue to fall down his face. Bi-Han’s body feels tense and limp at the same time. Why was his brain choosing to relive the absolute worst day of his life? His breath begins to quicken. He wants out. He doesn’t know what to do. How is Bi-Han supposed to comfort Kuai Liang? Bi-Han thinks back to what his mother would do. She was warm, inviting, and quick to wrap her sons in her arms, whispering sweet words to calm them down. Soft words have no chance at spilling out his mouth, so a hand would have to do. He slings an arm around his brother’s back, noticing the momentary freeze in Kuai Liang. The quiet gesture of comfort doesn’t feel natural to either boy, but it doesn’t mean that it isn’t appreciated. Bi-Han just hopes that his brother will calm down sooner or later. By now his shoulder and neck are soaked to hell. The air touches the area and makes him feel cold and uncomfortable. But Bi-Han refuses to move a single inch, not wanting to disturb his brother’s rush of emotions.
Suddenly, Bi-Han remembers he’s supposed to be training with his father. His blood chills as he thinks of the possible consequences for skipping or even just being late to training. Would his father be graceful and let him miss a day? He, too, should be grieving the death of their mother, the grandmaster’s wife. It’s too risky to even find out.
As gently as he can, Bi-Han maneuvers Kuai Liang off his body and stands.
“Come, training will take your mind off the situation,” he says, stretching his hand out. He doesn’t get the reaction he was hoping for. Kuai Liang just glares at him with teary, glossy eyes.
“Even in death, even in her death that is all you think about!” Kuai Liang’s voice is shaky as he forces his body to produce the words he so desperately wants to say. “Even in her death, that is all you care about.”
“It is a distraction,” comes Bi-Han’s voice, starting to drip with bitterness; angry at what he feels is an accusation. No lie was told, Bi-Han spent many days working off his frustration by training with other Lin Kuei. “Father requires it of us.”
Kuai Liang scoffs and wipes the remaining tears from his eyes. He stands, ignoring Bi-Han’s still outstretched hand, and walks off to the training facility. Bi-Han’s own heart is obviously heavy with the loss of his mother. It weighs more and more with each step Kuai Liang takes. A mix of guilt and helplessness gnaws at his chest. Did he just fail at his job as a big brother? Did he misread something he needed to pick up on? He tries to shake off the feeling and he makes his way down the hall, following his brother. However, the further he goes, the fuzzier the world gets. It’s too blurry to see, and it feels like everything is fading…
Bi-Han wakes with a jolt. His body is on guard for a few moments as he takes in his surroundings, only relaxing once he realizes he was in the Grandmaster’s chambers, a place he seldom visited after his mother’s death. His chest burned with any and all thoughts of his mother, so it only made sense to never be in the room where she slept. Until now.
On the large bed, adorned with an expensive sapphire and silver frame, lay his father; thin and frail with sunken in eyes, practically lifeless. It’s as if he was a corpse playing a cruel trick on this living, trying to convince that he was one of them. He doesn’t know if his father is awake or asleep, and he can’t bring himself to check. A wet, crackling sound escapes from the back of the Grandmaster’s throat which amplifies with each breath. It is called a death rattle, a Lin Kuei medic explained to him earlier that day, while it may sound concerning, it is a normal, natural end of life process.
It felt like a cruel and deceptive lie. That inhuman sound that perverted his father’s image was nothing but abnormal. The Lin Kuei grandmaster, a man who represented the Lin Kuei’s commanding strength, was reduced to having sickly, almost zombie-like skin, and too weak to clear the fluid building up in his throat. It didn’t have to come to this. The right medicine was there to save him but Father is dooming the Lin Kuei to lifelong mediocrity it felt pointless to prolong what was inevitable. It hurts to see his father in such a decomposing state, his chest feels a bit tight. He has no right to even be here. The Grandmaster could’ve been well on the road to recovery had he not intervened.
He thinks about his brothers, Tomas and Kuai Liang. How would they feel if they found out he’s letting their father pass? What would they do? Would Tomas’ face turn beet red as he refuses to speak? Would Kuai Liang sob into his hand then scoff when Bi-Han says something foolish? He doesn’t know. They’re all adults now and Bi-Han hasn’t seen his brothers show such emotion since. Maybe it’s Tomas who cries, and Kuai Liang’s face that heats up. Or maybe they both lash out in anger.
Bi-Han looks at his father, boring holes through the dying man’s skull. It’s his fault. It’s the Grandmaster’s fault Bi-Han lashed out at Tomas, it’s the Grandmaster’s fault that Bi-Han couldn’t comfort Kuai Liang properly. It’s his fault that Bi-Han failed to be the brother Tomas and Kuai Liang needed. Bi-Han understands it's foolish to blame another for his actions, but blaming something barely moving is easier.
It’s time to go. Bi-Han needs to prepare for his duties as future grandmaster. His father's soul shouldn't linger much longer in his failing body. Perhaps Bi-Han should start funeral preparations first. He gets out of his chair, slightly stretching his muscles that were angry at being dormant for too long. His footsteps echo as he walks to the door of the room. Bi-Han takes one last look at his father, feeling grateful his brothers weren’t around to witness the distressing sight.
Bi-Han leaves the room and closes the door behind him. He feels like less of a man for not having the guts to at least be there for his father while the man drew his last breath, but Bi-Han knows he’d have to fight back a tear or two - he wasn’t sure if he could handle it. Instead, he promises that he will lead the Lin Kuei to a stronger, better future. One unlike any past iteration. No one would be fool enough to mess with the Lin Kuei under his watchful eye.
Tumblr media
A/N - Hopefully this is in character. I really struggle with writing Bi-Han because I personally feel like he's a lot more...soft (for lack of a better term) than he is usually depicted. When I say soft I don't mean uwu squeeeee soft, I mean I don't believe he's as hardened as some say. Please let me know your thoughts.

HuntBird (The Huntress x Kate Denson)
A Songbird’s Protector
Part Two of Saved by the one who kills.
Part one:
Kate’s trial with clown doesn’t go well. But, when clown hurts Kate badly, he finds out that the songbird has quite the protector…
Her protector doesn’t like clowns.
Especially, not ones that hurt Kate.
—————————————————————————
Kate wished the trials have gone better.
So far her luck had been terrible.
The killers had Corrupt Intervention, Sloppy Butcher and A Nurse’s Calling.
She had been hooked twice and currently was on death hook.
Let’s see:
First, it was Adam. He was just trying to help and was immediately put on basement hook. He was sacrificed after rescuing Feng.
Then, it was David. David had been hooked twice, and then left to bleed out.
Kate was trying to find to get the gens done, and she completed one generator. It wouldn’t have been so bad if they didn’t have three more to go.
She heard Feng scream.
Shit.
She crept behind the corner, a little further but not enough for her hiding spot to be revealed. Feng had been downed and was being picked up by… Clown?!
She thought she had heard glass breaking.
They were in Gideon Meat Packaging Plant. She was grateful she knew the layout of.
She followed him, having Yui’s awesome perk Breakout.
Feng struggled more when she noticed Kate.
It was not enough. Feng was put on hook, and was now on her second hook.
Kate hid behind the wall, and waited for Kenneth to leave. She was more than relieved when he did. She waited a second to see if he was coming back. And when he didn’t, she came out of hiding spot. Kate ran to her.
“I got you Feng.” She said.
Feng nodded. “Thanks.”
The two ran for a bit before a bottle was broken, and both were blinded.
Kate ran but unfortunately, Kate was downed. Dammit.
He had Make Your Choice.
She wasn’t wounded, but he was able to down her in one hit because it had been less than 60 seconds, and she had been exposed. Dammit that was bad.
Feng was downed as well. Kate could only watch as she was picked up, and put on the hook. The entity claimed it’s second sacrifice. No, no, no, no…
“Feng…” Kate called out.
A laugh could be heard.
“Trials over, sweet birdie. I win. And since I did such a fantastic job,” he paused before kneeling down in front of Kate. “The Entity says I can do whatever I please with the last survivor to be downed, by me. And…” Clown put his hands over his mouth, “Why, that’s you songbird.” Kenneth then looked at Kate. “But I don’t feel like ending our date just yet, Let’s go somewhere, Get some fresh air.”
“…Fuck you.” Kate said. Clown coughed before laughing.
“Now don’t be like that!” He cooed. “Some fresh air will do you real good. Maybe… clear up that temper of yours.”
————————————————————————
Kate had her wrist and ankles tied up. They were in a secluded area, nowhere near the chapel, but somewhere close to… The Red Forest?? Well, that’s was Kate’s guess.
Clown had already cut off two of Kates fingers. The reason her ankles were tied up it’s because Kate kicked him in the face.
“You’re a sick bastard.” She said.
“Correction, songbird. I’m an entertaining, sick bastard. If you’re going to insult me, you must do it properly. There’s no point of doing it otherwise!” He taunted.
She scoffed. “So… Who else did you do this to? Or is this a special thing?”
“Only you Songbird.” He said. “Well… I was planning to do this to that Nea girl, but imagine my surprise when I didn’t seen her at the campfire. I asked the entity, and… do you wanna know what the boss said?”
“Enlighten me.” Kate said sarcastically.
“The Entity said she wouldn’t be coming to the trials for an undisclosed amount of time.” Clown said.
Kate realized that Nea hasn’t come back from the trials. She hoped Nea was ok.
Suddenly there was a sharp pain, as Clown was cutting off one of her fingers again. She screamed in agony.
“Keep singing songbird. We’ve got a lot more work to do, and you, have a lot more songs to sing.”
Kate glared at him. “You know, maybe if someone took one of your glass bottles broke it and shoved it down your throat, you’d understand some damn empathy.”
Clown stopped what he was doing, and grabbed one of his glass bottles. He then broke it letting the gas pour out. he took a big shard and put it up to Kate’s neck.
“I know you’re not being rude Songbird. Say something like that again and I might be forced to bash your head in.” He said, before he feigned false concern. “I’d hate for that to happen.” he said before putting the shard down and walking back over to his caravan.
Kate glared before something caught her attention. Humming, but… not just any humming.
She took a faint moment to listen.
Huntress. She was nearby.
She knew Huntress was very territorial. Suddenly, a thought appeared in her head. Although it may get her killed, it would get her away from him. She had to try it.
She started singing the lullaby back, the same way Huntress sings it. Clown came out of his caravan shortly after.
“I have to admit. I like it when you sing Anna’s lullaby. It sounds so much better. However, The huntress isn’t for miles. She is not coming to save you.” He said. Kate wasn’t hoping for The Huntress to come save her.
She was hoping Anna would kill both of them.
“Clown. You’re not afraid of her are you?” Kate asked. She had to make a bit more noise noise somehow.
The clown scoffed. “Of course not.”
“I don’t know… I mean you speak about her so poorly but you know… It’s okay to be scared.” Kate said.
Immediately Clown put the knife down on the table. He walked over to Kate and started bashing her head against the tree. Kate screamed in response.
“I AM NOT scared of her. I don’t know why you’re insinuating that.” He said. He then smiled before grabbing his knife. He walked backed over and put the knife to her throat. “Since you’re refusing to cooperate, let’s cut to the finale, songbird.”
Shit. Is this how she was gonna die?
She felt her had to be slammed against the tree. She screamed again.
One more time and she’d be done for.
Suddenly, without warning the humming stopped. That usually was a bad sign.
Before The Clown could do anything to Kate, a hatchet went into his arm. Kenneth J. Hawk screamed in agony. He realized Kate hadn’t been singing for his attention, but was singing for Her attention.
He took his knife and swung it at Anna. Anna didn’t dodge, and got a cut. This didn’t stop her, as she picked up clown by the collar and threw him to the ground. She then took her hatchet and chopped off his arm. The huntress then proceeded to Mori him, but slowly. She wanted to take her time. And she did.
Kate had blacked out from the fear and pain she felt.
———————————————————————
Kate woke up and found herself not at the campfire. She instead found herself, in Mothers Dwelling. She was actually surprised she woke up at all.
Her head was pounding, everything looked blurry. She looked at her hands and… she couldn’t tell.
“Ah, you awake.” A voice said. Kate looked up to see Huntress.
“…are you gonna hurt me?” Kate asked. Anna shook her head, not that Kate took notice. The huntress took out a bowl of soup, and brought it to Kate.
“Is… that soup?” Kate asked, Unable to tell with her vision being blurry.
“Da. It is. Kate will try soup, yes?” Anna asked, albeit excitedly. Kate nodded and was handed the bowl. Not knowing where the spoon was, she drank it.
It. Tasted. Amazing.
Anna was sloppy when she was hunting, but her cooking made up for it. However, this soup was special. As Kate consumed more of it, her vision returned to normal, her throbbing headache started to go away, and she felt like she could feel things again. She looked down at her hands and she now had 10 fingers, not 7.
“You- you healed me. Why? You could’ve killed me and sent me back to the campfire.”
“I… I thought you heal the people you love.” Anna said. Anna then froze up as if she revealed some thing she wasn’t supposed to. Kate looked at her in shock.
“You love me?” Kate asked. It wasn’t said directly, but it was very much implied.
Anna nodded and attempted to smile. Kate smiled at this revelation. She knew not all the killers were heartless. She also knew she owed Claudette $20 when she got back.
“I love you too… but next time, unless my life absolutely depends on it, please try not to kill people who have captured me.”
Anna nodded. She would not make any promises, but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t try.
Anna sat down next to her and held Kate. Kate was pretty. Kate was her songbird, and she’d be damned if she let anyone hurt her.
Kate was happy things ended the way they did. She was even happier she acquired such a vigilant protector and girlfriend.

Note
for the writer meme (lotsa good ones here and i couldn’t pick so feel free to skip some if u want): 1, 2, 4, 5, 7/8, 14!
i am skipping 7/8!! otherwise i will spend too much time in my documents and not actually taking the break i’m supposed to be taking :p
1. Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic.
whump, hurt/comfort
i really like to be a soup with the misery and pain, and then also the balm after.
2. Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?
secondary character who everybody loves is actually the villain
i don’t typically dabble in much action (altwss has some big departures from my comfort zone) but i would looove to play with the dramatic irony and making that reveal so fucking satisfying.
4. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?
oh man
there’s a couple ofmd ones:
- the fantasy au, ofc
- there’s a lucius/pete college au i’m working on that’s truly just dissolving into smut, so who knows if that’ll ever see the light of day. essentially stede is lucius’s advisor, lucius has to take a gen ed credit in math, ed is his math professor—he does not know they are married to each other, just that they’re old and gay and married and in love with their husband(s) and he’s jealous and lonely. he meets pete in this math class.
- a ‘they’re lesbians harold’ canon au, which, you guessed it, mostly smut!!! but it’s got the really fun play of totally avoiding the end of ep 9 and ep 10 entirely bc truly women do it different. (you can’t tell me a gay woman in 1717 who managed to get away from her forced marriage would ever consider that place safe harbor to return to, regardless of her feelings of guilt!!!) so in this version, they escape together as planned and return to the revenge (it’s all very handwavy, as is tradition). the trick now is that stede has no idea if the kiss was a heat of the moment thing or if ed actually likes her…spoiler: yeah baby she fuckin loves you surprise!!!!!!
- and oh god there’s a line in practical magic that had me spiraling at a canon reunion exchange of:
“So, why don’t you do what you do, and I’ll do what I do, and we’ll see where we end up.”
- it’s fully likely only the fantasy au will be the only one of these i post…so enjoy my brain worms but don’t get too excited 😫
5. Share one of your strengths.
capturing complex emotions in words. my therapist always tells me she’s going to steal my metaphors.
it’s just the only way i know how to express my emotions because the words that belong to them don’t feel like enough!!!
14. What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?
oh also follow up from previous
the conflation of ‘write what you know’ with ‘write only what you’re familiar with’
am i familiar with the fucking mob???? nah man i am playing house with my barbie dolls.
but i know pain, i know sorrow, i know hope and wanting so desperately to be worthy of the life that you had no choice but to receive, to not want to waste it and setting yourself impossible standards that you can never live up to and spiraling when you inevitably don’t meet them.
write things that are new to you. that’s why research exists.

Needy: Bakugou Katsuki x Reader
Me? Making a fic title that isn’t based off a song somehow? Seems unlikely.
Warnings: school stress. makin’ out. not proofread.
For @sems-diarie
You hated your classmate Bakugou Katsuki with a passion. He was arrogant, brash, and extremely loud. He was rude to you and he was rude to everybody else and he was completely convinced he was the greatest thing to ever exist. There was really only one thing you hated more than Bakugou.
Being teamed up with him for your class’s newest group project.
You had pleaded and begged with Aizawa to let you pair up with literally anyone else, but he was unyielding. All of his pairings were final, and you and Bakugou were no exception. You were just going to have to learn how to work with him, your grades be damned, apparently.
“Alright, listen up,” you said, taking your seat next to Bakugou the day after your group pairings had been announced. “You are not going to mess up my grades. If anyone is going to mess up my grades it’s going to be me. I don’t think you’re an idiot. I know you’re an idiot. So just sit down, shut up, and follow my lead.”
You were perhaps slightly harsher than necessary, even for a guy like Bakugou. In your defense though, you’d had a truly garbage day. Your coffee machine had broken, leaving you with no caffeine this morning. It was an expensive coffee machine too, and you weren’t sure when you would be able to buy a new one. You had spent half of your morning looking for the manual to the coffee machine in the hopes that Momo could just create another one for you, and by the time you realized what time it was you had no opportunity to do anything but toss your clothes on before heading to class. On your way to class, it had rained, soaking you through because you had forgotten your umbrella and provoking Mineta to make a comment on the clinginess of your wet uniform. You had gotten a worse grade than you were expecting on your last test, you had tripped and spilled all of your lunch across the floor, and now here you were, having to sit next to your assigned group partner, hair still damp and mood still very, very bad.
“Hey, I don’t know who you think you are extra, but I’m no idiot. If you think we’re not beating everybody else in this class, then you’re wrong. I don’t know what you’ve been told, but Bakugou Katsuki never loses.”
You had known the great Bakugou Katsuki for the last 3 years of yours and his UA career, and now, in your final year, you were pretty confident that you still knew him. You knew him as a guy who had definitely lost before in the past. There was no particular shame in that, but you couldn’t afford to lose this time, especially not on Katsuki’s account.
“You better be right about that, pretty boy, because this grade is important to me. If we get a bad grade on this assignment it’s going to throw off my entire average, which I really can’t afford right now. Speaking of which, we really don’t have the time for all this dilly-dallying. Let’s get to work, king explosion murder,” you mocked.
To your surprise, the ever confident Bakugou turned bright red at the old nickname.
“Whatever. Let’s just get to work. We’re going to have to trade contact information so we can figure out a time to meet up. Plus I don’t trust you not to screw this up without my advice.”
You rolled your eyes. The nerve of this boy. The sheer gall.
“Yeah, okay, whatever.” You reached into your soggy backpack and pulled out a pencil and a piece of paper, scribbling down your phone number.
“We should just be able to meet up in one of the dorm’s common areas. The trick will be finding a time when everyone else isn’t working there.”
You sighed, knowing your classmates wouldn’t make the scheduling of this easy. Even ignoring the fact that you might have to deal with their noise and obnoxious planning, Bakugou’s sleep schedule was another barrier to your project design. He went to bed early enough to severely limit your time for working on the group project. You honestly didn’t know when he found the time for homework. If you didn’t do yours immediately it probably wouldn’t get done until the very last minute.
“We can just study in our rooms. It will be quieter there.” Bakugou shrugged.
You froze at his casual words. Study in your rooms? As in study in his room? Nobody had ever been invited into Bakugou’s room. Not his best friend Kirishima. Not his childhood rival Midoriya. Not even that girl from the gen-ed course he’d dated when you were second years. Nobody.
“Uh…are you sure?”
“Yeah. Why?” He raised an eyebrow at you. “You’re making a weird face, idiot.”
You shook your head. “Nothing. I was just thinking. Yeah, we can just study in our rooms. Just text me before randomly showing up, okay?”
“Yeah, whatever.”
Aizawa was starting up class, causing you both to shut up. You felt a part of you get very excited that you might be about to see Bakugou’s room. There was something sort of forbidden to the feeling, fluttering around in your chest like a stupid flock of butterflies or something. You were sure it was just the appeal of his room, the secrecy of it all. You loved knowing other people’s secrets. That must have been what it was.
As it turned out though, your hopes and dreams were all in vain. Bakugou texted you to ask about studying, not in his room, but your room. You complied of course. As much as you wanted to see the inside of his mysterious room, you respected his privacy. After all, rooms were sacred. Your room was a deeply personal expression of yourself, and you weren’t about to pry into his space. It wouldn’t get you a better grade anyway, seeing as your project wasn’t on the inside of Bakugou’s room.
You had cleaned up your room earlier in preparation for this moment, anticipating that sooner or later Bakugou would want to study in your room even if you had briefly entertained hopes that he would want to study in his. Your normally messy desk was cleared off, your bed was made and your dirty laundry was all in the basket where it belonged. If you hadn’t cleaned the room yourself you would probably think that you didn’t live here.
Bakugou walked into the room with all the posturing of royalty, shoulders thrown back confidently as he eyed your room. He sniffed, passing whatever final judgement he would, and proceeded to sit down at your desk.
“Nice room, nerd. Cleaner than I thought it would be.”
You grew uncomfortably warm at the truth of his accusation, feeling specifically called out. Could he possibly have heard you vacuuming earlier? It didn’t matter. You didn’t care about his opinion.
“Yeah, whatever. Let’s just get to work, shall we?”
You pulled out your notebook, taking a seat on the floor and gesturing for him to join you.
“Why are you sitting on the floor, idiot?”
“I don’t have two chairs for both of us to work at the desk, so therefore the floor is our next best option.”
“No it isn’t.” Bakugou rolled his eyes. “You have a bed, don’t you? We can just sit on your bed and that way you don’t have to break you tailbone on the floor. Unless you like sitting on the hard floor.”
You gritted your teeth, glaring up at the challenge.
You pushed off from your hand, standing so you could loom over where he sat at your desk. “Fine. Bed it is then.”
You took a seat on your bed as he stood up from your desk chair he had invited himself to sit in. You waited for him to take his spot next to you on the bed, but he hesitated. For a guy who had suggested this idea, he didn’t seem to like it very much. Your surprise wore off though when you realized that he was being…awkward. Bakugou Katsuki was being awkward.
Was it you? Had you done something to make him uncomfortable? Or had he just been shy this whole time?
You could have laughed at him, but instead you took pity. You remembered your first year, when you had been painfully awkward. Maybe Bakugou had always been like that and you had just never had occasion to notice until now.
“Go ahead,” you said, patting the bed next to you. “Take a seat. I don’t bite, and even if I did you would like it.”
You laughed a little bit at your own joke, even if Bakugou didn’t seem to think it was very funny. You did succeed in getting him to sit on the bed though, so some small victories were won. He was stiff and sat much farther away from you than necessary, but he sat nonetheless.
After hours of working together, you managed to have a rough outline for the project. It was sort of a tricky project, based around gathering knowledge and making a presentation on the hero you thought to be the best. Bakugou had insisted with surprising vehemence on making it on All Might, and you agreed with him. After all, he was the symbol of peace and had been the #1 hero for decades. Even though this was a move you would have predicted more from Midoriya, you figured if you were going to do this project you might as well do it right.
Bakugou got up to head to bed, but you stopped him before he could leave. “Hey…I didn’t know you were so into All Might.”
Bakugou blushed, nervously scratching the back of his head.
“I mean, we all love All Might, don’t we?”
“I mean, I know I do.” You laughed a little to set him at ease before revealing a little bit of yourself. “When I was a kid All Might was always my favorite hero because of his smile. I always thought that if someone were ever to come save me, I would want them to smile at me like that.”
Bakugou was silent for a moment, thinking about your words.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right. I was always so impressed by his strength, and the way people loved him. I always wanted to be loved like that. I wanted to make people believe that I could help them. That they could trust me.”
There was a deep sense of vulnerability to his words that made you want to know more and made you want to understand this boy you had clearly underestimated.
“Is that why you became a hero?”
He huffed, retreating back into himself.  “I became a hero to prove I was better than everybody.”
In a way, it was a yes.
“Have a goodnight, Bakugou.”
He stopped in your doorway, looking back at you with a hint of that vulnerability from earlier.
“Goodnight.”
You had been working nonstop for the past 4 days. You had your schedule set up to an unreasonable level of strictness. You would work for an hour, watch a 10 minute motivational video, then work for an hour again. The only real breaks you took were to eat and sleep, and it was starting to wear on you. You just had so much work to do, and you needed to be free this weekend for the sleepover Mina was having, but you were exhausted.
You had finally reached a breaking point tonight, and you found yourself sitting in your bed crying. You weren’t pretty crying either. It was an ugly, exhausted cry, yanked out of you by the hours of work and stress. You had fallen onto your side, curled up in bed as the sounds choked out of you, ugly things breaking you open and cracking your chest and your voice.
Because of all the stress you had been under, you had completely forgotten about your group project. You had met up with Bakugou the first couple of days, but yesterday you had begged off and reschedule for…today. Right now.
You didn’t even hear Bakugou’s polite knock on your door, the same three knock rap he had given the last few days before coming in to work on your project with you for an hour. If he thought you were ignoring him or just not there, it didn’t stop him from coming in. You didn’t notice, completely oblivious to his presence until he spoke.
“Are you hurt?”
He rushed over to your side, rolling over your body to inspect you. His hands were surprisingly gentle as they skimmed over your body, checking for injuries, gently pressing into the divots of old scars. He found no hurt on you though, and pulled back, frowning.
“What’s the matter? Why are you crying?”
You sniffled loudly, shamefully wiping your arm across your face.
“I’m fine,” you reassured him, repeating it for your own benefit. “I’m fine, I’m totally fine. Everything is fine.”
“You sound like stupid Deku. Every time he’s ever told me he was fine he was lying.”
You choked out a giggle against your will. “Yeah, he does that doesn’t he?”
“Yeah, he does. But unlike Deku you’re not stupid. You want to explain this little episode to me?”
“I’m just…stressed.” You sighed, explaining your situation to him.
He sat back, stunned. “Well no wonder you finally broke. Nobody can work like that. You have to have fun, you idiot!”
For such a nice sentiment, he said it awfully aggressively. He almost made you burst into tears again, but he seemed to realize his mistake, quickly softening his voice again as he floundered for something to say.
“I…you…I’ve never seen you cry before,” he said.
“Yeah, well, I do it. This may come as a surprise but I’m human too, y’know.”
His hands still rested on your thighs, and you looked up at him hesitantly, breath catching in your throat. You had, of course, noticed that he was pretty before. Sharp cheek bones, harsh blond hair, bright red eyes that dug into your soul. Somehow though, he had gotten prettier over the past couple of days as you had gotten to know him, gotten to understand him better.
Before, you had thought he was arrogant. From your conversations though, you knew better. He just cared about people too much. Cared about their opinions too much, feared rejection. You offered up a little piece of yourself in exchange for everything he had admitted to you.
“Remember what I told you about All Might being my favorite hero? I thought to be a good hero you had to always be smiling. You could never show weakness. Not anger or sadness or anything else. That’s why you’ve never seen me cry before. Why I’m always so happy go lucky. Because I have to be.”
There was a pause while Bakugou processed that information.
“That’s…stupid,” he decided. “You shouldn’t hold back on your emotions like that. You deserve to feel things. You can’t dedicate your life to other people like that.”
“Yeah, I know. I’m starting to figure that out.” You stared down at your bedspread.
You were shocked when you felt a warm, calloused hand brush your cheek. Bakugou hesitantly, tenderly wiped the last of your tears away, and you felt something in your heart flutter. You had known Bakugou Katsuki a long time, but you had never known him like this. Looking up into his eyes did nothing to dispel your butterflies when you saw how soft his gaze was. Something in you ached to be looked at like that, to be held in someone’s hands as carefully as he was holding you now.
“Can I…can I kiss you?”
You weren’t sure where the question had come from, and yet you were, because some time along the way of getting to know him you had realized something. Everything you had thought there was to hate about Bakugou was really something to love. Over the course of this project, you had done something extraordinarily stupid. You had developed feelings for a boy who would never like you back. Which was why his next words stole your breath entirely.
“Please,” Bakugou said, his words a sticky sweet, fervent plea.
You blinked, daring to look at him again only to find him wide open to you. He was leaning forward, a look in his eyes you could scarcely describe, a feverish desire overcoming him. His hand on your face twitched ever so slightly in anticipation as you leaned forward.
When your lips met his, you were surprised by the easiness of it. You fell forward into him, arms draped around his broad shoulders as he pulled you in, large hand wrapping around your waist, firm and capable. He tasted like burnt sugar, impossibly so, and it made your head spin, made you dizzy with the sensation. It made you hungry for him.
When he licked your lower lip, you let him swallow you down, hands blazing a fiery trail across your waist to your back, making the trip over and over and burning into you with their warmth. You tugged on his hair lightly, eliciting a moan from him that shot straight through your chest. You gasped into his open mouth, your clumsy kiss flipping when he slipped his tongue into your mouth. Everything became easier when you let him take over, let him pull you into his lap up against the hardness of his body and tilt your head to the side just so, pliable and soft in his arms. Kissing him became easy and natural, shivers running through your body as you surrendered yourself to the experience.
When he finally pulled away, you found yourself licking a mixture of your spit and his off your mouth, not even minding how profoundly gross that was. Normally you would have shuddered, but you were far too busy staring at him, mesmerized and breathless.
“You, uh…that was…that was really nice. And I think you’re pretty.” Bakugou coughed. “Do you want to go out sometime? Because obviously you need somebody to distract you from your homework, stupid. Look what you did. Made a mess of yourself.”
You ducked your head into his shoulder at his words, hiding your face and your embarrassment. “Yeah, sure. That sounds nice.”
He hummed, the sound resonating in his chest and traveling straight to your ear. “Can I…kiss you again then?”
“I thought you would never ask.”

Logan pushed the knob on his fidget cube in slow circles. It was a simple toy, all black, and usually hidden in his pocket. He currently had it pressed between his thigh and the car door. His stomach was knotted and he stared out the window almost obsessively, counting every mile they got closer to his new school.
“You messing with that toy again?”
Logan looked at J. He shoved it in his pocket. “Sorry.”
“‘S fine. People are gonna make fun of you for being a baby, though.”
Logan’s face heated up. “I told you I won’t use it in front of other people.”
They pulled into the college’s parking lot. Logan’s small life was packed up neatly in the backseat. J. turned the car off and sighed.
“You sure you don’t need help moving in?” J. gave him a look. “You know how you can get.”
Logan nodded once. “I know. But I can control that. I can move in myself, don’t worry.”
hesitated, then sighed again. “Alright. Get out, then. Call me tonight.”
“Yeah. Love you.”
“Mhm.”
Logan stacked up his three boxes and started towards his dorm. Luckily, J. had taken a few weeks off his own education and brought Logan down for a tour last week, so he knew exactly where he was going. He managed all the way to his room and fumbled for the key card in his wallet.
He nearly dropped his boxes, and his heart leapt into his throat. He caught them just fine, but the panic remained, fizzling slowly like water down a stopped drain. His fingers itched for his cube. He ignored it, and got the door open just before the anxiety peaked.
One half of the room was already claimed, half unpacked suitcases sprawled over the bed and wardrobe, so Logan dumped his stuff on the second bed. He immediately righted the boxes and tossed some fallen items back inside. He glanced over his shoulder.
He was alone.
He shoved his hand in his pocket and found the side with the buttons, mashing them down before flipping it to switch. He click-click-clacked it a few times as the tension slipped from his chest.
He took a second to look around the room. His roommate’s life was coated in black and purple. Band tees stuck out of the half clothes drawer, notebook upon notebook littering his bed. He had a purple and black plaid quilt tossed over a gray weighted blanket. An expensive laptop sat freely on the desk.
“...oh, come on, you are such an asshole.” The door opened and closed, and a boy with purple hair came inside, holding a phone to his ear with his arms full of sodas and candy. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fuck you, too. Sure. Later. Love you.”
Logan blinked.
The boy dumped his food on his bed and shoved his phone in his pocket. He raised an eyebrow. “Uh, hi.”
Logan nodded. “Was that a… girlfriend?”
“Nah, my brother.” He turned back to line his drinks on the shared desk. “I’m Virgil.”
“Logan.” He hesitated, then turned to his own bed, pulling out neatly rolled up clothes.
“I hope you don’t mind that I already picked my side.” Virgil grabbed another armful of clothes and went over to the wardrobe, punching down the fabric until he could layer more inside.
Logan couldn’t help but say, “You could fit more if you folded them.”
Virgil snorted. “There’s three other drawers. I’ll be fine.”
“Right.” His face flushed. “Sorry.”
Logan hung his clothes in the closet. They unpacked silently. Logan occasionally tapped his pocket, just to make sure his cube was still there.
Virgil sat at the edge of his bed and held out his hand. “Let me see your class schedule?”
Logan startled, then fumbled for his backpack. “Right— Uh, sorry, one second.”
He found it while Virgil watched with raised eyebrows. He handed it over. Virgil hummed, gray eyes trailing over the paper. He really was striking. He was loud in a way Logan never wanted to be, but Virgil didn’t seem upset by it. It was all clearly a choice, from the way he dressed to how he styled his hair. He lounged on his bed, taking up all the space without taking his combat boots off first, chewing on his nails— likely while the nail polish was chipped.
Nail polish. His middle fingers were painted black, the rest a strong purple. How did he have the confidence to wear nail polish? If Logan tried that, J. would make fun of him until he cried.
“We have some Gen-Eds together,” Virgil mused. “And an art class. How long have you been drawing?”
Logan swallowed and sat on his bed. It was clear Virgil wasn’t handing the schedule back any time soon. “Not long. I just picked it up last year, actually. It sounded, I don’t know, relaxing.”
Virgil grinned and glanced at him. “It’s frustrating, isn’t it?”
“It’s… hard. Harder than I expected.”
“Can I see?”
Logan hesitated. He reached for the box with his sketchbook, but Virgil held his hand up.
“It’s okay. No need to look so panicked.” He chuckled. “I’ll just look later. I was going to go look around campus, make sure I know where all my classes are. Wanna come with? We can check the Gen-Eds.”
Logan really didn’t want to— he knew where his classes were, and he planned on finding good spots for his stuff —but he nodded and stood. He glanced at Virgil’s bed, where he laid on top of all of his stuff. A few things crumpled and crunched as he rolled onto his feet.
“Cool.” He grabbed a Monster off the desk and popped it open. “Let’s go.”
Virgil wasn’t actually as loud as he looked. He had the confidence down, and he teased Logan quite a bit, but he was very… calm. Logan would never admit it out loud, but he was jealous. He could never be that sure of himself.
After finding their Gen-Eds, they agreed to stick together to find their other classes as well. Logan admitted to having already visited his— Virgil laughed —so they set off to find Virgil’s.
Once they got to the last class on the list, Virgil stopped. “Shit,” he whispered. “Oh, shit.”
Logan frowned. “What is it?”
The wind blew through Virgil’s bangs, revealing wide, anxiety-filled eyes. The courtyard was mostly empty, the occasional student passing by a couple dozen feet away.
“They put me in the wrong class.” Virgil pushed his hair back and drew in a shaky breath. “We agreed I’d be in the morning class, I— I can’t make this one, I don’t know— fuck.”
“Hey.” Logan took a small step closer. “Hey, it’s okay. We can just go talk to someone, right?”
Virgil shook his head quickly. His breathing was speeding up. “No, are you kidding? They’re probably so busy, this is stupid. I just— fuck, I’ll have to make it work.”
“Virgil, no.” Logan laughed weakly. “No, come on, we can fix this. Breathe, right?”
“‘Breathe—’ Right, fuck, I’m not… I’m not breathing.”
Logan held his hands out, and Virgil scrambled to take them. Logan held them tight. “Uh, just follow my breathing.”
Logan helped him right himself, a few tears slipping out from Virgil’s eyes, but he mostly got himself back together pretty fast.
“Fuck, I’m sorry.” Virgil gave Logan their schedules and pushed his sweaty palms down his pants. He wiped his face. “Sorry, that was… stupid.” He fiddled with the zipper on his hoodie.
“No, it wasn’t. I… uh, here.” Logan hesitated, then found his fidget cube and pressed it into Virgil’s hand.
Virgil looked at it in surprise. His fingers naturally found the side with the buttons, click-click-clicking. “Oh. Thanks. I had one of these last year but I lost it.”
Logan blinked. “Really?”
“Yeah. I’ll give it back though, don’t worry.”
“Let’s go talk to the registrar. We can tell them your schedule is conflicting.”
Virgil stared at the cube. He flicked the dial a few times, listening to the light crank as it snapped back. “Are you sure?” He mumbled.
Logan forced a smile against his nerves. “Of course. Better to do it now then wait until it’s worse.”
“That’s true. Okay.” He laughed weakly and straightened his shirt out. “Right, you’re right. Sorry about this.”
“It’s fine,” Logan promised.
Logan walked with him down to the registrar's office and it ended up being an easy fix. Virgil walked out while rolling his eyes.
“I can’t believe that gave me a panic attack. Shit, I’ve had panic attacks over some dumb things, but… wow.”
Logan laughed. “It’s a… big day. Don’t worry about it. I, uh… I had a couple today, too.”
“Well, panic attacks make me hungry. Do you want to go grab something to eat?”
Logan nodded. “Sure.”
They stopped outside their dorm building. Virgil texted for a moment, then said, “I have a car we can borrow. Come on.”
They found a silver truck in the Junior’s parking lot. Virgil pulled the keys out of his pocket. “It’s my brother’s,” he said. “I’ve got a spare key.”
“Your brother sounds cool.” Logan climbed into the passenger side.
It was a very tall truck. His face heated up as he struggled a little to get inside.
“He’s an asshole,” Virgil laughed. “What do you want to eat?”
“Uh—” Logan’s mind blanked. “Um… I don’t— I don’t know, what do you want?”
Virgil raised an eyebrow. “Um… Okay, well, I know a Chinese place close by that’s good. We can grab one to bring back?”
Logan nodded and relaxed into his seat. “Yeah. That’s good.”
Virgil pulled out of the parking lot. They took their food to go, Logan managing to find a kosher option fairly easily, and ate while flipping through Netflix. They found a show they’d both been wanting to watch and got stuck on it easily. They ended up watching the entire first season, only stopping to break open Virgil’s collection of snacks.
Logan went to bed that night, later than he ever had, feeling better than he ever had.
xxx
“Hey, I’m going to see my brother. Want to come?”
Logan looked up from his homework in surprise. “Um… sure?”
Virgil had been acting weird lately. He invited him to go somewhere or do something every day. If Logan showed the slightest bit of hesitation, he backed off, but there he was again the next day. If Logan did hesitate, Virgil wouldn’t let him go back on it. Logan didn’t understand it.
He’d also started acting more nervous around Logan. Less sure of himself. Logan worried he did something. But if he did, there’s no way Virgil would want him to meet his brother, would he?
He settled his homework neatly back inside his binder and checked a few things off his planner before grabbing his phone and wallet. He followed Virgil outside, where the streetlights glowed warmly against the dark sky, and across the courtyard. The Junior dorm buildings looked identical to the Freshmen’s, only a bit bigger. Inside, their lobby was much more taken care of, and looked more like a gameroom than anything. Groups of students sat with decks of cards, at vending machines, at pool tables. Instead of heading up to the dorms, Virgil led Logan to a small group of kids settled in bean bag chairs.
A boy with striking similarities to Virgil— all angles and bones, the same gray eyes —sat with another boy, covered in freckles, settled in his lap.
“Hey, Jan. Hey, Patton.” Virgil placed a light hand on Logan’s shoulder. The touch burned through his shirt, and Logan nearly sucked in a breath. “This is Logan, he’s my roommate.”
“Wow, you’re getting along with your roommate?” Janus asked in surprise. “I guess I owe Patton ten bucks.”
“You do not!” Patton rolled his eyes with a smile. “We did not make a bet, Virgil. He’s doing his thing.”
“I know,” Virgil laughed.
He pulled the last free bean bag chair towards them and yanked Logan down with him. Their sides pressed together, the bag molding them against each other, Logan couldn’t breathe. He managed to settle himself on the edge of the chair. His side was cold as ice, his heart racing. Virgil gave him a weird look before shoving it off and looking back to Janus.
Logan thought briefly when the last time he had a hug was. Surely not that long ago, right? Parents hugged their children all the time. But he couldn’t quite recall. If he’d been hugged recently, would he still have the strong urge to reach out and feel Virgil’s hair? To take his hand and trace Virgil’s fingers? To feel Virgil’s palm against his face?
Logan’s face flushed. Stop acting creepy.
“What are we playing?” Virgil asked.
Virgil helped him through the card game. It became obvious towards the third round that Janus was cheating, mostly because Patton scolded him loud enough for everyone to hear.
“Wait, he’s been cheating?” Virgil threw his cards down dramatically. “You bitch!”
Janus laughed as Virgil kicked the cards at him. Logan tensed.
“Stop fighting!” Patton sighed, but he was smiling. Why was he smiling? He batted his eyelashes at Janus. “Baby, buy me a snack?”
Janus picked Patton up, stood, then tossed Patton into the bean bag chair. He squealed.
“Don’t use that voice on me.” Janus leaned down and kissed him softly. “Totally unfair.”
“Oh, is it?”
They mumbled together for a moment between kisses. Logan was certain his face had never been so red. Virgil picked up a card and flung it at them.
“Gross! I don’t want to see my brother make out with anyone!”
Janus snorted as he pulled away and found his wallet. “That’s just because you’ve never made out with anyone.”
Virgil’s ears turned red. “That’s not true! Gah!”
Janus left to the vending machine, and Patton relaxed into the chair with a wide grin. “So Logan, what are you studying?”
“Physics,” he mumbled. “Are you two okay?”
Virgil looked at him in surprise. “Me and Janus?”
Logan nodded.
“Uh, yeah? Why?”
“You guys were fighting?”
Patton giggled while Virgil raised an eyebrow. “We weren’t fighting, we were joking. You don’t have brothers?”
“No, I have one. He’s two years older than me.”
“Alright… what’s his name? Maybe Janus knows him.”
“He doesn’t go to this school.” Logan found his fidget cube in his pocket and rolled his thumb around the metal ball. “He’s at a college in our hometown.”
“You moved away for college?” Patton asked in surprise.
“What’s going on?” Janus dropped into Patton’s lap and pressed several packets of gummies into his palm with a kiss to his cheek.
“Logan went to college out of state to get away from his brother,” Virgil said.
Logan’s eyes widened. “Thats not true!”
Virgil bumped their shoulders together.
“If Virgil tried going to college out of state without a good reason, I’d kill him.” Janus pulled Patton closer. “Seriously. I’d be worried out of my mind.”
“You don’t…” Logan hated to confirm Virgil’s suspicion, but he couldn’t stop himself from asking, “you don’t need, like, a break?”
Everyone stared at him.
“No,” Janus said flatly. “No, I actually love my brother.”
“Gross,” Virgil mumbled, but his ears were red again.
“I love my brother,” Logan insisted.
“Oh, we don’t doubt that.”
“I just— I don’t know. You guys were fighting yesterday morning, too.”
Virgil stared at him in confusion, until it clicked. He laughed. “You mean when I was on the phone? Lo, he called me a coffee gremlin so I told him to fuck off. It wasn’t a fight. We were just messing with each other.”
Heat steadily climbed up Logan’s neck. He closed his hand around his cube until it hurt. He wanted to curl in on himself, escape the conversation, and never see any of them again.
“What the hell does your brother call you?” Janus asked.
“It’s not a big deal,” Logan said weakly. “We’re just— we’re not as close as you, I guess.”
“Logan, it’s okay,” Patton said softly, face pinched with worry. “You can talk about it. No one’s here to judge you, we’re not trying to force you to be grateful for your family or anything.”
Janus squeezed Patton’s shoulder. “Yeah, we know about shitty families, if that’s what this is.”
“And that’s the vibe I’m getting,” Virgil added. “The shit Janus calls me doesn’t bother me. I tell him if he says something fucked up. What does your brother do?”
“I— I don’t know, I don’t know.” Logan pushed his sweaty palms against his jeans. “He just… gets mad sometimes. You know?”
“No,” Virgil said flatly. “What does he do when he’s mad?”
“He just… gets mad.” Logan’s voice trembled. He didn’t know how to get out of this. He made a big deal out of it, something that so clearly wasn’t a big deal, and now he was just stuck. “I guess he, I don’t know, he calls me selfish sometimes.”
“Like when?” Patton asked. He’d leaned forward, hands clasped between his knees, brows knitted.
Logan stuttered through a few stories off the top of his head. He’d tried to tell them in a casual way, insist that it wasn’t a big deal and he was fine, but everyone was so… concerned. Virgil’s fists clenched around his hoodie, Janus’ eyes narrowed. Logan ducked his head. He was shaking.
He scrambled to his feet. “I’m sorry, I think I— I think I need to go.”
“Logan,” Virgil sighed. “We can stop talking about it, but come on. You can’t like the way he treats you.”
“Does it matter?”
Everyone paused. Logan pressed a hand to his forehead.
“No,” Janus’ voice dripped with sarcasm, “of course not. People can just do whatever they want to you with no consequences.” He waved his hand. “Who cares, right?”
Logan froze up. His muscles were pulled taut, eyes squeezed shut, his body wilting like a dead flower.
“Janus,” Patton scolded.
He sighed. “Sorry. Look, of course it matters. Come on, sit down. Everything is fine.”
Logan didn’t believe that. But he sat anyway. He answered their questions. He explained everything as honestly as he could.
Part of him wanted to defend J., to insist that it really wasn’t that bad and J. loved him. But Logan wasn’t sure if J. did love him. He’d heard how Virgil talked about Janus, and there wasn’t a doubt in Logan’s mind that J. would never talk about him that way. He’d seen how Janus looked at Virgil, sometimes angry but usually in a protective way. It wasn’t like anything Logan had seen from J.
Hearing them throw around the words ‘abusive,’ ‘manipulative,’ and even ‘gaslighting,’ was hard. Logan jammed the joystick on his fidget cube around so much he almost broke it, bouncing his leg up and down, eventually having to get up and pace. He kept waiting for the snapping, for everyone to tell him how annoying he was being and that he needed to sit and be quiet. They didn’t.
It was almost uncomfortable.
The conversation eventually moved— Logan was simultaneously relieved and disappointed —but everyone looked at him different after that. Before Virgil and Logan went back to their room, Patton offered a hug. Logan hesitated, and was about to step into Patton’s arms, when Virgil grabbed his shoulder— just long enough to make him pause.
“You don’t have to say yes,” he said flatly.
Patton’s eyes widened. “Oh, gosh! Right! Of course not. Sorry, Logan.”
Logan cleared his throat. “It’s okay.”
On the walk back, Virgil said, “We’re going to have to work on that.”
Logan shoved his hands in his pockets. With Fall kicking in full force, it was freezing outside at night, their breath coming out as fog.
“Work on what?” He mumbled. His body was heavy, eyes lidded.
“Your whole people pleaser bullshit. You don’t have to say yes to everything. It’s okay to not want to do something.”
Logan swallowed. He shrugged.
Virgil stepped in front of Logan and crossed his arms. “We need to set some boundaries, or else I can’t be friends with you. I’m not going to hurt you because you won’t communicate. I won’t be like J.” Virgil stared for a moment, eyes swiping over Logan’s face. His eyes softened. “I won’t be mad. You’re just going to have to trust me on that.”
“I don’t…” Logan’s heart thumped in his ears. He pressed his thumb against the buttons of his cube. “I don’t really… I don’t know how to handle being touched.”
Virgil’s eyebrows raised. “Oh? I mean, okay. So don’t touch you, then?”
“Maybe, just… I don’t know, not that often?” Logan bounced on the balls of his feet. The cold had wormed its way into his bones, and he felt like if he didn’t move he’d either go crazy or freeze to death.
“Come on, let’s get inside.” Virgil nodded towards the door.
They didn’t talk until they were settled into their beds and the lights were off.
“Thanks for telling me,” Virgil said. “I’ll talk to the others, too. You can always reach out if you want.”
Logan’s eyes watered. He was grateful for the dark. “Yeah,” he whispered.
“Goodnight, Lo.”
“Goodnight, Virgil.”
xxx
Virgil and Logan laid on their stomachs, on the floor. Notebooks and textbooks were spread out in front of them, covered in highlighter and pen.
It was a few months after Logan had confessed about J., and a few things were becoming apparent. 1) Virgil was not giving up on him. Neither were Janus or Patton.
2) J. probably, almost definitely, did not love Logan.
Every day it was becoming more and more clear.
Logan had never been treated the way Virgil and his friends treated him. Sometimes they argued, sometimes Logan was so frustrated and confused he wanted to cry, but they never made him feel like he wasn’t important. Every fight was important. And for the first time, he was able to move on from them. Even when things weren’t quite resolved, even when there was still more to talk about— that didn’t stop Virgil from inviting him out to dinner, from joining him to study, for putting on a bad horror movie.
“Alright,” Virgil sighed, pushing the textbook away and burying his face in his arms. His voice came out muffled, “if I look at American History anymore I’m going to die. What next?”
“Uh…” Logan cleared his throat and looked at their stack of remaining textbooks.
Semester finals were coming up in the next month and Logan was severely behind in Calculus.
“I don’t— I don’t know, what do you want to do next?”
Virgil picked his head up sluggishly. He blinked at Logan for a second, hair mussed, wrinkles under his eyes. He grabbed their stack of textbooks and dragged it closer.
He hummed as he looked through it, then pulled the Calculus and Economics textbooks. He shoved the others away. “Which one?”
“Um…”
“Come on, I’m good with either. Which one?”
Logan hesitated, then pushed away the Economics book.
“Cool.” Virgil flipped the textbook open. “Come on, I want to get this done.”
Logan flushed. He scrambled to find his notebook and flashcards, struggling to focus. A sturdy feeling of control settled over Logan’s bones, something he didn’t think he’d ever felt before.
xxx
“Almost ready to go?”
“Uh, yeah, just let me—”
Logan yanked the blanket down his bed, then pushed aside his pillow. He relaxed and snatched his fidget cube, shoving it in his pocket.
“Okay.” He straightened up. “I’m ready. Let’s go.”
They left their dorm and headed downstairs. They’d planned to meet Janus and Patton in the parking lot so they could all go to this arcade nearby. Janus had jokingly (jokingly?) called it a double date.
“Yeah, there’s this zombie game you’d really like,” Virgil rambled as they stepped outside. He immediately tensed against the cold and stepped closer to Logan. Logan shuffled against him, their shared body heat negligible.
The parking lot appeared ahead and Logan stopped.
“Lo?” Virgil frowned. “What’s up?”
got out of his car and grinned as his eyes landed on Logan. He waved.
“Um…” Shit. “I— I don’t know, uh—”
“Logan!”
Virgil looked over his shoulder as J. headed towards them. His face darkened. “Is that J.?”
“Yeah.”
“Hey!” J. stopped in front of them and grinned. “Surprise. Come on, let’s go grab dinner. Who’s this?”
“Virgil.” Logan stepped closer. “My roommate, remember?”
“Oh, yeah. Well anyway, let’s go.”
“Actually,” Virgil said in annoyance, “we had plans. Maybe you can call ahead next time.”
quirked an eyebrow. Logan’s blood ran cold as J.’s eyes narrowed. “You’ll have to reschedule. He’s my little brother, I’m sure you can find someone else to drag along.”
Virgil scoffed and glanced back at Logan, then stopped. “You’re not really considering this, are you?”
Logan looked between them, helpless. He was terrified of upsetting either of them, but there was no way to please both of them.
“I— I don’t know. J., we had plans,” he said quietly.
“You can reschedule.” J. grabbed Logan’s arm and pulled him closer. “I haven’t seen you in forever, don’t be selfish.”
“You don’t have to do what he wants,” Virgil insisted. His eyes were on J., face scrunched in a glower.
“What’s up with you?” J. asked in frustration. “You’re acting like it’s a crime to take my little brother to dinner. Just lay off, will you?”
He stormed away, dragging Logan behind him. Virgil huffed. His footsteps echoed away.
Please don’t be mad.
Logan forced himself through dinner. The entire night crawled by, full of passive aggressive comments and insults Logan had forgotten how much he hated. He didn’t understand why J. came all the way down here just to ridicule him. Couldn’t he do that over text like he usually did? Didn’t he catch on to why Logan stopped answering?
After J. drove him back to campus, way after nightfall, he grabbed Logan’s arm before he could escape. “We need to talk.”
Logan shoved his hand in his pocket. He flicked the switch, over and over, click-click-click—
“Will you stop playing with that fuckin’ toy? I’m being serious.”
“It calms me down,” Logan mumbled, pulling his hand out. “Sorry.”
“I don’t like Virgil,” he said flatly. “I don’t like how he treats you and honestly he’s fucking rude. You’ve been pulling away. Mom and Dad haven’t heard from you in months. I haven’t heard from you in longer. That’s not fair to us just because you have this new friend.”
Logan stared. What the hell was he supposed to say? I like how Virgil treats me a whole fuckton more than you do. He couldn’t say that. Even if he wanted to, which he wasn’t sure he did.
“I’ll talk to him about it,” he lied.
“Talk to—” J. barked a laugh, “no, ask for a new roommate. I don’t want you talking to him at all anymore, okay?”
Logan swallowed. “He’s my best friend.”
“That’s a problem. He’s not good for you.”
He pulled on the door handle a few times. “Can I go? I get it, I’m sorry.”
“You clearly don’t get it. If you did—”
Logan pulled on the handle a few more times as J. droned on. His body was lighter, his head foggy. He could see himself tugging, tugging, could watch J. getting angrier and barely made out his mouth forming the words ‘stop with the fucking door.’
Then he was outside.
peeled out of the parking lot, tired squeaking over the pavement, and Logan hurried to his dorm.
Virgil paused the T.V. as Logan got inside. He panted, chest heaving. Did he run? He didn’t remember.
“Logan?” Virgil stood. “Hey, what’s going on? What’d he do? Did he say something?” He hurried over.
Logan stumbled through the story. Virgil’s glare deepened with each word, and every time Logan tried to make it better, Virgil just got angrier.
“Stop apologizing,” he snapped. “Come here, you need to sit down.”
He held out his hand, and Logan hesitated, before taking it. As Virgil led him to the bed, Logan focused on the texture— soft and cold. The pad of Virgil’s thumb was pressed against Logan’s palm. He craved more and he wanted to rip his hand away.
Virgil sat Logan down, then took his back back and knelt down. “Where’s your cube?”
Logan shook his head.
Virgil glared. “Did he take it?”
“No! I just— I don’t need it.”
“You clearly do. Come on, have I ever made fun of you for that?”
Logan hesitated, then fumbled to get it out. Click-click-click. Click-clack-click-click.
“Come on, follow my breathing. It’s okay. We’re going to figure this out. You don’t need him. It’s alright.”
Virgil slowly got Logan back in his body. His breathing became his again, and he was reminded of where he was. He gripped the covers, rubbing his fingers over the plush.
“I’m sorry,” he managed. He still panted a little, his head light.
“Sit here. I’m gonna grab some water.”
Virgil came back and sat next to him. He handed Logan the water, who gulped it down. He hadn’t realized how thirsty he was. Virgil took the glass back, their fingers brushing, and set it on the desk.
“I don’t think you should talk to him anymore.”
Logan flinched.
“I know. I know it’s confusing. It’s your decision. If you want to stay in contact with him for a little longer, I’m not going to hold that against you.”
Logan looked up in surprise. “What? But you want—”
“It’s not my life. I think he’s an asshole and I don’t think he deserves you, but I’m not going to make choices for you. Not these.”
Logan’s eyes watered. He looked away.
Virgil sighed. “You don’t have to do that. I won’t make fun of you.”
He buried his face in his hands as his body shook.
Virgil cleared his throat. “Usually when Patton cries, he wants hugs, I don’t… um… what do you need?”
“What?” Logan’s voice cracked, and Virgil repeated himself. “A blanket?”
Virgil reached around and pulled the blanket around Logan’s shoulders. He whispered “One second,” and rushed over to his bed. He dragged his weighted blanket over and settled that around Logan’s shoulders, too.
Logan got his tears out while Virgil refilled his water. He took it with clammy hands, wiping his nose. “Thank you,” he mumbled.
“You should get some sleep.”
Logan nodded. He started to take off the weighted blanket, but Virgil held his hand up. “It’s alright. Keep it tonight.”
Logan hesitated. “Are you sure?”
“Wouldn’t say it if I wasn’t.”
He swallowed. “Thank you. I— thank you.”
Virgil smiled awkwardly. “Get some sleep.”
Logan settled into bed as Virgil turned the lights off. He brought the weighted blanket up to his nose, eyelids fluttering closed. It smelled like Virgil. It was warm.
Logan was safe.
xxx
Over the rest of the school year, Logan slowly worked at cutting off his parents and J. Virgil helped him, even through the hiccups. There was a moment Logan thought he could fix things, that he and J. could reconcile— then J. gaslit him and Logan almost switched colleges. Virgil made it clear what J. was doing, and Logan hadn’t spoken to J. since.
The two eventually agreed to get an apartment together after college. Logan got a part time job to keep his mind busy, and he barely had any free time between that and the studying, but he spent most of it with Virgil.
“And how satisfied were you with your roommate this year?” The registrar asked as Logan sat in the oversized armchair.
“Um, he was good. I liked my roommate.”
“Would you like to continue rooming with him next year?”
She barely finished speaking before Logan blurted out a ‘yes.’ She laughed and noted it down. Logan met Virgil outside afterwards, and they headed towards the Junior parking lot.
“You said yes to rooming next year, right?” Virgil asked.
Logan nodded. “Yeah. You?”
“Nah, didn’t feel like it.” He smiled. “‘Course I did. You can’t get rid of me.”
Logan laughed. “What do you want to eat?”
“I think I’m gonna force Janus to buy me a pizza.”
He wrinkled his nose.
Virgil snorted. “What, you don’t want pizza?”
“That pizzeria you like is disgusting.”
“You’re disgusting.”
“Come on, we eat there too much. Can’t we get something else?”
Virgil pretended to think about it for a moment, before rolling his eyes. “Yeah, whatever. You can pick this time. I’ll tell Janus and Patton to deal with it.”
Logan grinned. They made it to the parking lot and piled into Janus’ truck. Logan told them what they were eating for dinner, and as Janus headed that way, Virgil nudged Logan with his elbow.
“I’m proud of you,” he murmured.
Patton had turned the radio on. Pop music blared through the speakers, but Logan could hear perfectly with Virgil’s mouth close to his ear. Not enough to touch. Just close.
Logan flushed. “For what?”
“You’ve come a long way this year.”
“But I still—”
“Shh. Not focusing on that right now. I’m proud of you.”
Logan’s stomach filled with butterflies. Virgil pulled away with a grin, then yelled something at Janus, who flicked him off.
Logan settled back with a smile.

The Not Sober Thoughts Part 3: OT3
More like the one with the media and the public. People are really shipping Izuku and Bakugou together, and are ignoring the fact Izuku publically is with Uraraka and Iida, even calling him a cheater.
Izuku ends up having enough, and the next few who accuse him of it are charge with slander. This ends with Izuku on a pedestal calling out the public and media.
Izuku: I don’t have an issue with people shipping us. I don’t- but please stop trying to make it happen in real life. It won’t- I do not like Dynamight like that, and have no interest in dating him at all.
This does spark controversy but actually, a lot of heroes begin suing people who claim things with slander.
It is slowly revealed that the heroes are people- and they have had enough of the bullshit from the public.

Fem! Izuku has a succubus Quirk that gives her like the classic hourglass- big boobs, thing waits and a very nice butt. Her Quirk lets her gain power the more people are arracted to her. She loves Midnight and while she plans on waiting a bit before being R-Rated, she does aspire to be the next Midnight.
Fem!Izuku also as a crush that she loves to tease. It’s all playfull and she makes it clear she will back off if they don’t want it.
Actually- she has crushes. Uraraka and Iida. She loves teasing them as long as they’re okay with it, and she is in love with them.
It’s actually Iida who figures it out first, and then they end up in a threeway relationship they all adore ad Izuku just keeps gaining power.
-0-
Trans! Izuku gets pregnant in UA. He has a boyfriend who goes to another school. Said boyfriend was only with him for sex, and when Izuku tells him he’s pregnant, shuts Izuku out for a few days.
Izuku hopes that he’s just freaking out, but then he gets a call during class. Aizawa has a rule that you have to put the phone on speakerphone when it rings in class unless it is parents, police or like a doctor, because a) prepares you for people know shit about you and b) it’s rare for others to call and it isn’t an emergency.
Izuku answers and then the boyfriend, over the phone, dumps him.
Boyfriend: I was only with you for sex. I don’t care you somehow got a Quirk, you’re a useless freak still. Bakugou was right, you should have jumped off a roof.
Izuku breaks down crying, the class is like WTF and Bakugou is suddenly being stared at, HARD.
Izuku pulls himself together and vows to raise the kid properly. Iida and Uraraka step in, and then form a relationship with all 3.
Bakugou either gets moved to gen ed or sent to the school I made up where they send people who had potential but also have issues.

"i trust you" under the lying quirk oh no that killed me. Imagine the bakugous in the katsuki hakamata au but without anybody realizing whats going on so baby doesnt get adopted (canon?), and Bakugou not trusting adults ohhhh dear
God, Katsuki getting hit by a lying quirk would be super interesting.
I think it’d have to be that he bumped into someone, maybe someone in gen ed or a kid or something. They don’t realize their quirk activated because Katsuki yelled at them afterwards and they thought he was fine.
The rules for the quirk are a bit more complex than just forcing someone to say stuff that’s untrue, it forces a person to try to deceive other people.
As such:
Any form of communication is affected, although to varying degrees.
The quirk compels the affected person to deceive other people on any given matter. This can mean telling lies directly, but it also means the person will dodge questions/refuse to answer if simply lying would reveal the truth.
Speech/typing/writing is all forced to be lies in some form or another.
Body language/facial expressions are somewhat effected, although less so.
The quirk lasts for 24 hours or so.
Katsuki gets to class, and he feels fine right up until a teacher asks him a question. He opens his mouth to tell them the answer, but instead finds himself saying he doesn’t know. He’s extremely confused as this pattern repeats. When Mina asks if he’s okay after their first class, he tries to tell her something’s wrong, only to find himself saying that everything’s fine and to mind her own business.
This keeps up until lunch, by which point, Izuku has solidly picked up that something is wrong with Katsuki. He approaches Katsuki about it towards the end of lunch, only to have Katsuki look him in the eye and say, “Everything’s fucking fine with me, Midoriya.”
Good news; This clearly communicates to Izuku that something is wrong.
Bad news; Izuku has anxiety, and Katsuki has never called him by his last name, so he assumes that he did something horribly wrong and offended Katsuki without meaning to. He tries to apologize and ask what he did, but it’s ineffective and Izuku retreats to try and figure it out.
This means that Kirishima approaches Katsuki, also trying to figure out what’s wrong with him. He asks Katsuki what’s bothering him, and Katsuki tells him that He’s bothering him. Because of the lying quirk, Katsuki sounds so serious that Kirishima is now convinced it’s something that both he and Izuku did, so he also leaves Katsuki alone for fear of angering him further.
Lunch ends with the whole class on edge and trying to figure out what Kirishima and Izuku did. One of the students, probably Iida, informs Midnight whose their next teacher that something seems to be wrong with Katsuki. He indicates that it’s some sort of serious friendship fight/emotional issue. Midnight pulls Katsuki out of class ahead of time to speak to him, telling him that he can talk to her if something’s up.
Katsuki looks at her, and all he can see are images in his mind of being chained up at the sports festival. A muzzle in his mouth, chains on his arms, fucking thousands of people watching, and her part in putting him there. It’s been awhile, but that’s the sorta shit that’s hard to overcome. Particularly after it got broadcast on national TV, and villains decided they liked what they saw.
So, with all of that in mind, his mouth opens and he speaks in a reluctant but oddly soft voice.
“I fucking trust you, and I’ll tell you if there’s shit I want to talk about, but there’s nothing on my mind right now.”
And Midnight buys it. Later, in the staff room, she’ll brag to the other teachers about it. That she was the first one Katsuki said he trusted. It strikes Aizawa as odd, but he doesn’t speak up for fear of being called jealous. Maybe he is, a bit.
In the meantime, a grouchy Katsuki returns to class to suffer through the rest of the day, telling lie after lie of “I’m fine.”. He says a few odd things, like telling Denki that he ‘well and truly thinks he’s a complete moron without even a flicker of light on in that head of his’, mentioning in response to someone that he’s never gotten a nightmare in his life, and pissily telling Uraraka that she’s a total coward who he doesn’t even have an ounce of respect for. Everyone assumes he’s just in an awful mood though, and takes to avoiding him.
At the end of training for the day, Katsuki took a few hits which he blows off any concerns about and stomps his way back to the dorms. Tired, frustrated, and hoping he can just sleep off the quirk. His plan is to hide in his room until it’s over.
Only, Kirishima just can’t let sleeping dogs lie. He knocks on the door until Katsuki opens up, only to be greeted by his friend’s tear stained face.
Kirishima gives a watery, heart felt apology, asking Katsuki to please tell him what he did, because Kirishima has been desperately trying to figure it out but he can’t come up with anything. He promises he didn’t mean to hurt Katsuki, but he knows the other is clearly genuinely upset about it, so for their sake of their friendship, won’t Katsuki please tell him what he did wrong?
And in that moment, all Katsuki can think about is how much he cares about Kirishima. How much he doesn’t deserve a friend this kind and good. His mouth takes hold of that thought, eyes narrowing in anger that isn’t his own, and they start shaping out, horrible, horrible words.
“I hate y-”
Katsuki is cut off by himself slamming the door shut, having wrestled back a tiny bit of control from the quirk to prevent himself from saying something he can’t ever take back. He locks the door and steels himself against Kirishima’s crying, because even though every part of him wants to go comfort his friend, he knows he can’t.
It’s silent for a long, long time after that.
Given that that was such a shitshow, Katsuki’s expecting to be left alone for the evening. He doesn’t think there’s anyone else in the dorms stupid enough to come try to talk to him after Kirishima was sent sobbing.
Surprise though, there is!
Shouto had heard about what happened with Kirishima, after he spent most of the evening trying to console a panicked and heartbroken Izuku. Comforting people is hard for him, and he feels like he’s doing a shit job of it. So instead, he decided to try to solve the mystery of what’s going on. He’s not sure what Katsuki’s deal is, but he’s going to get to the bottom of it, even if he has to break down Katsuki’s door to do it.
To rephrase that a little;
Shouto breaks down Katsuki’s door after he refuses to answer, to try to get to the bottom of what’s going on.
After a bit of angry yelling, Shouto demands to know what Kirishima and Izuku did to upset Katsuki so much. Katsuki wants desperately to say that they didn’t do anything, but again the quirk forces him to lie.
“They know what they fucking did!”
Shouto, whose stubbornness can match Katsuki’s on a good day, shoots back that the two of them don’t know what they did, and that Katsuki needs to explain what’s causing him to behave so weirdly. Again though,
“Those assholes know what they did, and I’m not fucking behaving weirdly!”
And then a thought strikes Katsuki, and out of desperation, he tries something.
“Those assholes know what they did, and I’m not fucking behaving weirdly!”
One more time, red eyes fixed on Shouto now, pleading.
“Those assholes know what they did, and I’m not fucking behaving weirdly!”
He can’t repeat the phrase again, the quirk has caught onto his trick, so now he’s left wondering if Shouto got the message.
Here’s the thing. Shouto can be dense at times. He really can be. But he’s also willing to leap to ridiculous conclusions based on limited evidence, and sometimes, just sometimes, that’s exactly what a situation calls for. Maybe it’s Katsuki saying it three times, or maybe it’s the desperate look in his eyes, but Shouto gets the hint.
“Katsuki, what color is your hair?”
It’s a weird fucking question, but Katsuki is relieved knowing that Shouto’s got it now. He finds himself dodging the question, getting hostile, but Shouto stays patient and firm, demanding an answer and asking other, simple, straight forward questions that Katsuki is unable to answer. After a handful of those, he’s convinced Katsuki is unable to say the truth, and he connects the dots that Katsuki’s been hit by a quirk.
Obviously, he takes this information to Aizawa, who in turn checks the school’s cameras from that morning. There they find the student that Katsuki ran into, and get an explanation on the rules of the quirk. It’s only 24 hours, which is almost up, so really all that’s left to do is for Shouto to go tell the others what’s been going on.
Oh, and Aizawa has to check on Katsuki, because unfortunately he distinctly recalls the kid saying he was fine after training that day when Aizawa asked if he’d taken any hits.
Aziawa has to ask a number of questions to suss out if Katsuki is actually okay. Not to mention trying to get permission to check and wrap Katsuki’s (thankfully minor) injuries from training. It’s uncomfortable as hell for him, but some of Katsuki’s answers give him pause.
“Fuck off, I don’t trust you.“
“I don’t want you here. Leave."
“You’re the last person I want to see right now.”
And sure, it’s not quite the same as hearing Katsuki say that he trusted him or that he wanted Aizawa there, and Aizawa’s not going to take anything said under the quirk at face value, but it still warms his heart a bit. Because he knows what the kid is really saying.
In the afterwards, once the quirk is gone, Katsuki is tackle hugged by Kirishima who he assures he is not mad at. Izuku is still crying, but he’s always crying, and it’s a better sort of crying this time as he joins in on the hug that Katsuki reluctantly allows. There’s some teasing, but mostly the class doesn’t take what happened to heart.
Midnight pulls Katsuki aside again to talk, and after this whole mess, he’s just very tired. After he confirms he said what he said the day prior under the influence of the quirk, she’s hurt, asking if that’s really how he feels. If he really doesn’t trust his own teacher. And Katsuki knows this is when he’s supposed to comfort her, but he’s too fucking done for that shit.
Instead, he gives her an exhausted look and asks her what she expected after the sports festival. It catches her off guard, but he doesn’t relent, saying that he said what he said. The quirks worn off now, so If she wants someone to lie to her to make her feel better about what happened, then she’ll need to find someone else, because Katsuki doesn’t do lying. Then he leaves, because he’s got other shit to do.
And after that Fun Talk, and after this entire experience, Katsuki is emotionally raw, but he still has to talk with Aizawa. It’s a thankfully quick conversation, but afterwards he mumbles out a thanks to his teacher. Then even more hesitantly, he double checks that Aizawa knew Katsuki was lying when he said those things last night.
Aizawa says of course, he understands it was the quirks effects and he’s not holding it against Katsuki. Katsuki replies that that’s good, and then quietly and quickly, he makes eye contact with and says he does trust him, and there’s nobody else he would’ve rather handle that situation. Katsuki being Katsuki, he barely gets the words out before he’s off in a huff with his face red, leaving his teacher in shock behind him.
Somehow, despite all the chaos caused, Aizawa still finds himself secretly glad for that stupid quirk.

Mattie & Lulu & Dolly (mostly)
PlanityPlan: Okay, so we wanna get down what Mattie, Lulu and Dolly are like, that’s the main point
PlanityPlan: but then we wanna pinpoint the time of this reunion for their storyline together, so we can then say what Jay is up to, Beckett not really ‘cos he’s a child but we could also say what we wanna do with you eventually here because we are planning to use him but yes, kind of unrelated but not
PlanityPlan: So it’s like, individual story, what they’re like, the lives they’re living, and then the storyline we’ll do with them together
PlanityPlan: OKAY so Mattie doing an accelerated 2-year Maths and Computer Science degree at Greenwich (57, 58) and then her PGCE which takes a year and in this year you do 2 school placements, 2nd placement at the girl's new school after gay teacher drama in Surval, so this 2nd meeting after first failed attempt at contact, in 59
PlanityPlan: Basically, energy being, making contact before starting Uni and the twins are like nah and then we show up at their new school (accidentally) and the twins relationship has suffered so now we have an in
PlanityPlan: OKAY OKAY so Mattie reaches out Summer 57, she's about to start Uni, the twins are 14 and just finished year 10, 58 teacher stuff to happen and come out year 11, 59 we move to new school year 12, Mattie starts placement too
Junie B Jones: The school I found for the twins is called Surval Montreux in Montreux Switzerland and they’d have been going there from age 12 (and leaving at 19) it’s obviously an international school but there’s a heavy focus on French in lessons as obviously because English is usually a 2nd language, but don’t even worry ladies cos there is only a maximum of 10 girls (cos it’s only gals) in your classes and 60 in the entire school
Junie B Jones: worth noting the finishing school bit from 17-19 cos your mother would love that for you and you can share a room no problem as it’s usually 2 or 3 anyways
PlanityPlan: So, do we be evil and say they have to share with another poor gal?
PlanityPlan: ‘cos we could run with that
Junie B Jones: that poor girl requesting a transfer cos they are so odd hahaha but yeah I say there’s potential there even if it was only for a while like maybe it’s lowkey a version of how they put me and Trace in separate classes cos the teachers are like UM
PlanityPlan: I see that, forcing you to stay involved, ‘cos with 60 people you’d have to be all up in each other’s business, like you’re for sure meant to see the teachers as friends/fam too
Junie B Jones: the website was very culty and that energy
PlanityPlan: which brings me to my first idea ‘cos I think it works on many levels beyond being a cliche
PlanityPlan: Okay so, I thought it’d be interesting to have a secret between them ‘cos how hard it’d be to keep
PlanityPlan: and then I thought that it’d be hilarious karma if Dolly had an affair with a female teacher but we actually let it go there
PlanityPlan: ‘cos it’d be a massive scandal even your parents can’t ignore and the girl gives off some gay vibes and it’d be like, a thing they can’t share in if Lulu isn’t gay like we share a boyfriend but we’re not sharing this teacher moment
PlanityPlan: and it’d probably get you both kicked out so we can time it when we want it and Chloe would be fuming about this lesbianism lmao
PlanityPlan: so with the whole culty school like this would be NEWS ‘cos they’re tight with the teachers clearly so it’s like ARE THEY ALL BEING GROOMED lmao
Junie B Jones: Lulu gives off the straightest vibes EVER so I am down & also the vibe that she would love that culty school
PlanityPlan: right so not only have you kept a love affair and gay from me, you’ve also ruined our school moment, it’d really shake them and their weird twin energy to it’s core, which is the fun of it all obvs
Junie B Jones: I see now why you agreed to share a boyfriend hun, also the potential for her to have a gay awakening with the roommate so hitting all those cliches
PlanityPlan: right, I’m not being gross but it’s true that all-girls school girls experiment together, facts, like Lulu probably joined it with it too but it’s like oh you actually like girls for real
PlanityPlan: but if Dolly isn’t just then living her best gay life and is trying to get shit back to how it was, I think it makes it different
Junie B Jones: the tea and also it seems like the kind of school where a teacher would go there, especially if it’s a younger/artsy one like that film Cracks that Imogen Poots was in, soz Nancy but most teachers won’t
PlanityPlan: it’s a cliche with posh schools for a reason, the bond is closer by the fact there’s not 30 kids in a classroom, there’s more opportunity for it to happen because you have actual relationships with all your teachers, whereas in normal schools they barely know your name lol
Junie B Jones: gross but necessary question being how long do you see the relationship spanning in secret before the big reveal
PlanityPlan: it should probably be somewhere between enough that it’s an actual thing that happened and not like, it happened once, like the teacher probably thinks they’re gonna be together if she doesn’t go to jail lol, but not so long that it is like, how’d you not know
PlanityPlan: it’ll be fun to like, play out, see how long we feasibly could
PlanityPlan: and if Lulu finds out before EVERYONE finds out, then she has to decide what to do with this info for a bit too, which would also be good
Junie B Jones: I love that because the twin vibe is very much like oh we can read each other’s minds haha bitch you thought
Junie B Jones: totally can picture Lulu snitching on you ngl gal
PlanityPlan: accidentally fucking yourself over when they kick the lot of yas out, a mood
PlanityPlan: NEW CO-ED SCHOOL IN SURREY, STILL BOARDING
PlanityPlan: maybe Lulu does care more about school in general, but also specifically that school and being one of the girls forever
PlanityPlan: ‘cos then it’s gonna be hard to win her back when you end up in another school, with boys dundundun
Junie B Jones: she very much comes across like that to me, not only because she’s clearly the clingy controlling twin here but I think she clearly likes how small and family like this school is trying to be cos of how chaotic and lacking their home life is, she’s definitely scared of boys & navigating socialising with them without making a tit of herself because of how little dealings she’s had so it’s gonna be a SHOCK
Junie B Jones: dobbing her sister in because 1. You think the teacher will get sacked and it’ll be over 2. You think you can score some points back and stay in the school’s good books
PlanityPlan: It’s honestly sad how much sense it makes, like you really buy all in with the family vibes and then ya twin fucks it all up, rude
Junie B Jones: okay idk how plausible this is but remember in Wild Child aka the greatest film of all time that boy is like the headteacher’s son, what if the boyfriend (Danny Griffin is his IRL name but I’ll give you a french af one in character boy) they share is like the son of someone who works at the school (obvs he doesn’t go there but like he’d have to live nearby and generally loiter) which is part of the reason Lulu picks him cos all the girls would want to but also she could tell him something about this and he’s like UM you have to dob her in
PlanityPlan: I see that, they can’t all be spinsters like this is an enid, they’d have families and stuff, I can vibe it because again, a thing if there’s any male in the vicinity we all lose our minds lol
Junie B Jones: and like obvs that’s why she got with him but there’s potential for an actual relationship to form with this boy on some level if we want
PlanityPlan: Yes, maybe you actually like him, because clearly Dolly doesn’t, have him to yourself hun, but also then you’ll have to move so rude
PlanityPlan: Another reason to be fuming when you were the clingy twin before, role reversal
Junie B Jones: and another reason to not want to leave because I can’t imagine that your parents will move you to another school in Switzerland because it’s tiny and the scandal so literally in a different country
PlanityPlan: yeah, we’d probably move you to the uk like we’re going to be more involved like doubt that lads but you know
Junie B Jones: my thoughts exactly
PlanityPlan: so the question is do we want to do this before Mattie gets in contact or after
PlanityPlan: I’m leaning towards before so then 1. You’ve got a chance of getting in but 2. You can also help or not help them get on better terms, whatever we vibe
Junie B Jones: maybe when she first gets in contact it’s a secret still so we get the best of the both worlds, cos like you’re gonna get stonewalled then hun but when it all pops off you can be there
Junie B Jones: just cos I’m thinking if it’s all happened by the time they’re 16 that’s slightly drama but then again we’ve done worse lol
PlanityPlan: That’s a good idea, it makes the most of it for sure
PlanityPlan: I’m not sure what the age of consent is but that might affect how in deep shit this teacher gets
Junie B Jones: it’d be a way to show how their dynamic and relationship changes from a POV that isn’t just their own
PlanityPlan: for sure and then we can have the outcome be not just down to their new school and their parentals
Junie B Jones: poor Mattie getting way more drama than she expected
Junie B Jones: are you having her go to a UK uni because obviously relevant because this isn’t getting resolved in a summer hol
PlanityPlan: I’m kind of vibing no uni, honestly
PlanityPlan: because a lot of gen 4 do go and it isn’t the only option
Junie B Jones: love that for her tbh
PlanityPlan: So yeah, you’ll be around for sure
Junie B Jones: do you have a job/career in mind yet?
PlanityPlan: not really, like I see you being a bit lost in that sense, which is fine because you’ve got a lot in other respects and you’re looked after, but it’s definitely a vibe of not knowing what you want to do, but not just doing uni ‘cos as most people in that situ do, so you probably have lots of random jobs
Junie B Jones: that’s legit cos loads of people don’t know what they wanna do but don’t have the luxury of taking time to figure it out but she does & lowkey it doesn’t matter if she never does cos like you said she’s fine in a lot of other ways
PlanityPlan: like I won’t let you be insufferable with it and not work and just bum about but you’re just striking me as work-driven, which a lot of characters are again, so I’m not mad
Junie B Jones: I like it
PlanityPlan: So it’s just working out what your actual main motivation is, which I think could be tied into getting in contact with this fam
PlanityPlan: as we’re saying Jay doesn’t really want to, so it’s a difference there
PlanityPlan: and it’ll be good to have it not a total failure if you do make something with the twins but we know you won’t with Chloe so there’s the struggle with that
Junie B Jones: it pleases me because the obvious and cliche thing to do would be to have Jay be the one trying to do this as she actually has memories of and issues with Chlo whereas Mattie is basically Ava’s child
PlanityPlan: and I don’t think it resembles like, Edie’s feelings about Drew and Caleb etc either, it’s not like I NEED you to be my mum because you biologically are
PlanityPlan: it’s just lowkey a curiosity like, people can’t just vanish from our lives like that, like what are they doing, ‘cos you know their main house is still in London too, like it’s just like, why shouldn’t I look into this
Junie B Jones: agreed, it’s not coming from a place of having a deficit, she’s happy and has everything she needs in that sense, so it makes sense for her to only gain from it
PlanityPlan: and it is naive but that is how I vibe her being in a not really annoying way lol, not a jaded character though
PlanityPlan: and it will be shit when Chloe is Chloe but it won’t destroy her or anything it’s just like oh god, what is wrong with her though
Junie B Jones: and that’ll strengthen her relationship with Jay because she doesn’t wanna talk about all of that and you’ll get why in a way that you can’t unless you experience the crazy that is Chloe for yourself
PlanityPlan: exactly, like that can be a source of strain between you when you’re first deciding to do this
PlanityPlan: and you’d give Chloe a few chances ‘cos like I said you aren’t looking for a mum so you’d be trying to lowkey work it out and being empathetic so she’d probably actually love that ‘cos she’s a narcissist so it’d be a bit dicey
PlanityPlan: suddenly wants to tell you every drama in her life like poor me
Junie B Jones: how real
PlanityPlan: ‘cos you can think you’re like objective and just putting the mystery together but you’re gonna get dragged in, clearly
PlanityPlan: especially combine this with the twin drama which you do genuinely care about
Junie B Jones: mhmm, Lulu is gonna drag you in gal, not like she can bring these emotions and drama to her new school when it’s a scandal and this is supposed to be a fresh start
PlanityPlan: which is what you were warned about/one of the reasons we left it ‘til you were grown but you’ll have to work this all out, which will be good
PlanityPlan: ‘cos you can’t be dealing with your younger sister’s drama instead of living your own life but clearly at a point here we are ‘cos bit lost
Junie B Jones: you’re so clever boo, this is such a good idea that flows
PlanityPlan: heheh, I think it makes sense if you’ve had such a chill upbringing and the twins have not that this chaos can take over your life and drag you in
PlanityPlan: I’d like to think we all get to a healthy place gals but we’ll see tbh
PlanityPlan: as for who Dolly is… I think she never bought into the school as hard, like it’s probably better than home, not that we’d know, but we’re not like omg this is IT
PlanityPlan: same with the boyfriend clearly, none of it is as real but the twin bond is so like may as well until the gay drama comes along
PlanityPlan: but then that’s lowkey over before it’s begun so then we go into overdrive of trying to win her back
Junie B Jones: which Lulu is not having sis
PlanityPlan: like in reality we should accept our truth and start working on separate personalities but we’re like no no
Junie B Jones: potential for how far aka too far she can try and take winning her back, like that creepy book energy
PlanityPlan: deffo, like we’ll have to think of ways but if we’re going all-in on this, there isn’t reason not to
PlanityPlan: ‘cos we don’t care about school or whatever mum and dad are saying or doing
Junie B Jones: not gonna kill you off gal but oh the possibilities for danger cos lbr your grandparents can’t stop you either clearly
PlanityPlan: bless them they’re alright people but obvs a bit useless for all this to happen lmao
Junie B Jones: hence I vibe that Lulu totally walks all over/ has them wrapped around her little finger like Chloe did but more subtly because she has no nuance
PlanityPlan: deffo, oh lads
Junie B Jones: which is a shame when they could literally give you the family energy you want without need for a creepy cult school but hey, you’ve been taught to treat them like that
PlanityPlan: exactly
PlanityPlan: they should’ve lowkey took you in but we’re too posh for that and you’ll probably be fine right lmao
Junie B Jones: at least Dolly can stay with them when her parents are literally hate criming her
PlanityPlan: sad that you won’t ‘cos getting back in that closet so hard like will you forgive me if I’m straight and we’re still the same
Junie B Jones: it’s really sad like this isn’t sustainable huns and shouldn’t have been allowed to be a thing for this long
PlanityPlan: at least Mattie does have fresh enough eyes to be like, respectfully, maybe let’s not do this
Junie B Jones: just like Lulu don’t haze your sister thank you
PlanityPlan: right, I think this gives us energy to go on for all y’all
PlanityPlan: *** so the energy now is she can get more drawn in because she's literally there living at the school too, and after the placement, she's getting a permanent position at the school, so we can actually work through this together and have relationships etc etc

First Story Lines
Thanks for the tag, @khashanakalashtar!
Rules: List the first lines of your last 5-20 stories.  See if there are any patterns. Choose your favorite opening line. Then tag others!
I’m going from less recent to more recent, because I was too far in to switch when I realized that maybe it would have been better to go the other way.
"The best thing about tonight's that we're not fighting," says Dex at last, sounding utterly wrung out. (“The Best Thing About Tonight’s That We’re Not Fighting”)
Holster’s known Ransom for under two months, so he can’t say for sure, but it seems like something’s wrong. (“Holster Gives Good Hugs”)
Will had planned it all out. (“too long i’ve been afraid (of losing love i guess i have lost)”)
Shitty hears yelling from the Reading Room during the first kegster of the year and texts Lardo to ask her to come babysit the tub so he can abandon the tub juice to go investigate. (“Intersections”)
Jack and Shitty talk about it, is the thing. (“Brightly, Enthusiastically, Giddily”)
“Jack. Jack!” Kent exclaims, rushing out onto the deck of the Zimmermanns’ lake place. (“Better”)
Back when Jack and Kent were in each other’s lives, they were really in each other’s lives. (“Reused Usernames and Revealing Playlists”)
Holster is kissing his way down Ransom’s stomach when Ransom goes entirely rigid for a few seconds and then scoots backward on the bed, away from Holster’s mouth. (“You Deserve Everything”)
The only good thing about Simon’s Words is that they’re low on his hip, in a spot he doesn’t have to display to the public on a regular basis. (“Not a Disaster”)
Jack doesn’t do this sober. (“One of These Nights Jack Needs to Get Some Sleep”)
When Jack gets out of rehab, moves home to live with his parents for the first time in years, and starts going to therapy just twice a week rather than every day, his therapist suggests he take up a hobby and start making his identity about something other than hockey. (“put your emptiness to melody (your awful heart to song)”)
When Larissa arrives at Samwell, as soon as her parents leave after helping her move in, she finds the art building on her campus map and walks there. (“you don’t have to sing it right (but who could call you wrong)”)
Even over the Christmas music, Baz could hear the sound of the door opening and footsteps approaching the counter. (“Sounds Like a Date”)
Baz has been dreading the group project ever since he got the syllabus on the first day of his Economic History class, and that dread has only mounted as the semester has worn on. (“Checking You Out”)
It’s midway through the semester and Simon is fully confident that taking Intro to Psych with Baz as a way to take care of a gen ed requirement was the right decision. (“Is This More Than You Bargained For Yet”)
Jack spends the summer before his junior year interning at a history museum in Boston and living at the house his parents bought for him and his friends. (“who could ask to be unbroken (or be brave again)”)
After a particularly brutal morning practice in late September, Ford calls her boys to attention in the locker room and gets groans in response. (“The Monologue Competition”)
Jack’s talking to Ransom about the relative merits of the fast food options in Canada versus the US, Lardo is telling Shitty and Holster about her plans for her junior art show, and Bittle is on his phone, probably tweeting. (“as we walked, we were talking (i didn’t say half the things i wanted to)”)
I hug you and then I make a retreat/And sneak away while you talk on and on/I cry and I’ve got "Halo" on repeat/I don’t know how to stay when you are gone (“Iambic Pentameter, Please”)
Knock. Knock. (“Are We in the Clear Yet?”)
It’s hard to pick a favorite because I feel like my writing tends to be pretty utilitarian rather than lyrical, and I prefer lyricism when it comes to stuff I want to read. In terms of patterns . . . I guess more often than not I’m trying to set the scene, and I don’t do a whole lot of really sudden in media res.
I tag @doggernaut, @ivecarvedawoodenheart, @shitty-check-please-aus, @birlcholtz, @cricketnationrise, and anyone else who wants to play!

Richie Tozier Does the Wired Autocomplete Interview
Summary: Richie does the Wired Autocomplete Interview. Little does he know, there’s a surprise waiting for him at the end.
Word Count: 1150-ish
Warnings: None whatsoever. This is pure fluff.
Author’s Note: Post-Chapter 2. All of the Losers are alive in this fic, including Stan, because I promised.
CROSS-POSTED AT AO3.
Richie took a sip of his coffee before setting his take-out cup down next to his chair. "Okay, let's do this."
He waited for his cue then looked at the camera. "Hi, I'm Richie Tozier and I'm here to do the Wired Autocomplete Interview."
He paused and picked up the first poster board. "Is Richie Tozier…" he read out loud, then pulled off the first strip covering the rest of the question. "Gay?
"Yep," he answered, popping the 'p' with a grin. "I'm strictly dickly, and only interested in one guy's dick in particular these days. Next question!"
He pulled off the next strip. "Is Richie Tozier an actor?" He shrugged. "Well sure, if you count all those years I acted like I was straight. Otherwise, no, I've never been in a movie or on a TV show, unless you count hosting duties on SNL or talk show appearances. Moving on!"
Richie laughed at the next question. "Is Richie Tozier on drugs? One would think, huh, especially after my public breakdown on stage a few years ago. No, contrary to popular belief the only drugs I've ever been on are the ones that have been legally prescribed to keep me as a mostly-functional human being.
"Ok, next. Is Richie Tozier friends with William Denbrough?" He smiled. "Ahh, Billy Boy. Big Bill. Billiam. Yes, Bill and I were friends when we were growing up together in a little backwards-as-fuck town in Maine. We lost touch for a long time but reconnected a few years ago along with the rest of our group of friends and all hang out as much as we can.
"Last question on this card. Is Richie Tozier funny? Depends on who you ask. My friends would probably say no but the Emmy award sitting on my mantel would disagree with them."
Richie tossed the poster to the side. "NEXT!"
He picked up the next poster. "Does Richie Tozier…" He pulled off the first strip. "...Live in California? Yes, my home base is in L.A., but I currently split my time between L.A. and New York.
"Next question… Does Richie Tozier have any pets? Sadly, no, not at the moment. It's too difficult with my travel schedule to have a pet right now.
"Does Richie Tozier write his own jokes?" Richie winced. "I didn't for a long time, as made obvious by all the past jokes about the fake girlfriend that I most definitely did not have, but I have been for a few years now and they mostly seem to be going over well.
"Does Richie Tozier have a wife? Again, gay as fuck, so no.
"And the last question for this one… Does Richie Tozier wear contacts? I have them, but I never wear them. Contacts make my eyes itchy. Besides, my glasses have been part of my signature look for so long that they're basically part of my brand."
Richie tossed that poster aside and picked up the next one. "Moving right along! How did Richie Tozier get the nickname 'Trashmouth'?" Richie chuckled.  "It was a childhood nickname that stuck. I was always making jokes and talking trash as a kid, so one day my friend Stan apparently had had enough and told me to shut my trash mouth, and it stuck. Actually the other day Stan called me 'dumpster fire', so the old nickname might be changing.
"How old is Richie Tozier? Let's just say I'm a Gen X'er and leave it at that.
"How did Richie Tozier become a comedian?" Richie looked directly at the camera. "Through a little luck and a lot of hard work.
"How did Richie Tozier win an Emmy? Honestly I have no idea. See above answer, I guess."
He set the poster down. "Is that it? Oh no, wait, there's one more set of questions."
Unlike the previous posters that had the beginning of the question revealed, the last poster had the entirety of each question hidden.
Richie pulled off the first strip before reading the question. "Is Richie Tozier in a relationship?" Richie put a hand over his heart. "The answer to this, and I honestly cannot be more happy to say this, is yes. My boyfriend Eddie and I have been together for two glorious years.
"How did Richie Tozier meet his boyfriend?" Richie grinned. "I'm sensing a pattern here. He was part of the friend group that I mentioned earlier, but my feelings for Eds were always different than my feelings for the rest of my friends, as in I loved to piss him off extra just to get him to touch me. While we were all back together in our hometown a few years ago Eddie was in a serious accident and almost died, and I was so relieved when he woke up in the hospital that I cried like a little bitch and confessed my love for him. Luckily for me, he reciprocated, and the rest, as they say, is history.
"Does Richie Tozier love his boyfriend?" Richie snorted. "People must see our Twitter exchanges. Don't worry, we don't actually hate each other -- roasting each other is basically foreplay for us. Eds gives as good as he gets -- in more ways than one, if you know what I mean. So to answer the question, yes, I love my boyfriend more and more every single fucking day. He's a tiny little ball of rage and I wouldn't trade him for anything."
Richie adjusted his glasses. "Okay, last question." He pulled off the final strip. "Will you marry me?" He blinked. "Wait, what the fuck?"
He looked at the question again just to make sure he read it correctly, then looked around in confusion until he saw Eddie joining him. He turned to face Eddie instead of the camera. "Eds, what the fuck ? What are you doing here? I thought you were in Bumfuck, Ohio on a business trip."
"You didn't answer the last question, Rich," Eddie replied.
"What the fuck do you mean, I didn't answer the last-- HOLY FUCKING SHIT."
Eddie had gotten down on one knee, pulling a platinum band out of his pocket and holding it up. "Marry me, Richie."
Richie blinked, willing his brain to form a coherent thought. "Yes." That sounds right.
Eddie grinned. "Yes?"
"Yes, yes, fucking yes ." Richie started to tear up.
Eddie stood and slid the ring onto Richie's finger before pulling him into a kiss. "I love you."
Richie sniffled and wrapped his arms around Eddie, realizing that Eddie had planned this out. "Oh my God, you clever, clever asshole. I love you so much," he murmured into Eddie's neck.
"Wanna wrap this up and go celebrate back at the hotel?"
Richie nodded and turned back towards the camera. "Once again, I'm Richie Tozier and this gorgeous specimen is my fiancé. Look for my new special, My Boyfriend is Hotter than Yours, premiering April 12th only on Netflix."

Clone Wars     Shadow      Warriors
            Seas 4
Oh    this-   just    screams      edgy        ...   Whelp
So is Jar      Jar an     adult,       now,?            (Asking because before his    characteri         zation was force of nature to child
Now he    seems to have his own    personality.
Which is fine   if you want to change some details for the sake of a    better story,      (Or to simply      explore         a new       angle,).    Aesthetic
Just.            need to make sure I’m holding them to the right standard,
    Okay,
   That-         was    relatively     adult,
  Mm
   Um.

Or something to do with the       prince
I think it would’ve really worked better with the concept of        ‘being taken’        under,               As well that possibly being a good contrast between     Jar Jar         binks          And        Char-        If Jar- jar got promoted-        With Char being eager at first but then realizing he just         can’t-          And Jar- Jar being reluctant at first but realizing he      can-
[Note; assumed authority is bad,         Just- some people are better at using it for venting         than others)
Nope boomers vs throw-         it-back, boom-
       I-
And it really did feel like this episode       -should’ve been the split one
Nearing the end- it started to feel like the 1st-       part of a second ep-
    Which is fine
    Just cut-        of-
Episode all around being al-right, with just several parts that didn’t make quite sense including the emphasis on the general for that one scene,

Ninjago OC’s
I don’t really make ocs unless it’s plot specific but here are a few I have because it’s oc day I guess (this got so long I’m sorry)
Side Characters
Brody Grey and the Oppenheimer gang
Description: mid 20s, tip-dyed black hair (color is subject to change but he likes red), likes to wear tie-dye and anything from the 80s, average adult male height, Gay
Personality: overdramatic but with a rational head, energetic and likes to tease, gives good advice and father figure I guess?, love of reading and writing, can be flirty and cocky at times
Backstory: Was disowned by his parents when he came out and has had to make it on his own, Theater major at the Oppenheimer and successful too, was Cole’s roomate (they didn’t get along at first)
Plot Purpose: Cole-centric backstory exploration, Brody and co. reveal a lot about Cole’s past to the other ninja (more about the emo depressed grieving version in the pilots) and helps him come to terms with it, Also tell them you’re gay Cole, yeesh. The other friends are important to expanding the other ninja like Alex (non-binary, quiet, goth, Violinist) helps Jay deal with that he’s trans and coming out of the closet, Persila (bi, short blond, actor, excitable conspericy theorist and fandom queen) Probably figures out Jay is Cliff Gordon’s son, Melissa (lesbian, singer, Mom, sweet thing but easy to anger and holds a grudge) Was the first one Cole latched onto in the group because she reminded him so much of his mom [there are other things too with Nya and Kai and Zane but I don’t feel like elaborating more now], ANYWAY Jay takes Cole to see a musical and recognizes Brody (who he hasn’t been in contact with since he left) and they talk after the show leading down the road of all Cole’s old college friends meeting the ninja
Random Facts: He’s dating Vinnie and NO ONE CAN STOP ME, he’s sorta supposed to be Cole’s foil (where Cole is blasting My Chemical Romance and AC/DC he’s blasting Boogie Box High and SOS Band), he’s a mash of all the other ninjas personality’s not gonna lie
Tony Tabloid
Description: 12-14ish, shorter side but gets a major growth spurt when older, short black/brown hair, missing tooth, classic news boy hat that’s to big for him
Personality: Bright young boy with plenty of street smarts, will talk your ear off, full of himself and would fight anyone or anything no matter their size, very energetic but with a cool attitude
Backstory: Orphan at Walker’s Home (Jay’s rich and built an orphanage cause he’s nice like that) in Ninjago city, was on the street since young age, ex-thief, turned around at Walker’s though and now is head of the Ninjago city newspaper delivery (probably knows Nelson)
Plot Purpose: All the ninja seem to have a child that gives them advice at one point or another so here’s Jay’s, Jay has the rights to the Star Fairer enterprise (unknown to the other ninja) and when Lloyd mentions they should make new movies but can’t he goes about making it happen, he makes it all seem like he’s uninvolved but somehow gets them vip passes to see the movie in action (he says it’s from his ex-acting career connections), Tony is playing the younger version of Fritz’s son (our main character) in flashbacks, Jay is the one who got him his “gig”, he ends up revealing a lot of stuff Jay would rather keep hidden and probably almost dies doing something stupid and Jay has to save him
Random facts: Tabloid obviously isn’t his real last name (not sure wheather he chose it himself or people just started calling him that) it’s obviously related to his work, speaking of work he wants to become a journalist or reporter when he grows up, Jay gave him one of his smile buttons and he put it on his hat, I like to think in the future he gets adopted by Brody and Vinnie
Fievel Schmidt
Jay’s old friend, knew him before he transitioned, I mostly only use him in movie!verse BUT..., in show his mother is a mecahnic who buys parts from Ed and Edna, boyfriend ran off so she’s a single mom, the walkers always take a weekly trip into ninjago city to trade and sell so she’s a regular, Edna takes Jay and Fieval to the arcade and does grocery shopping, unfortunately his mom got seriously injured and can’t do mechanics anymore so they lose touch, plump and short, very sweet boy
Next Master of Sound
I feel like everyone forgot Jacob died in season 4 so here’s a reminder, he never had any children so it went to a random kid, little girl, Long black hair, she accidentally killed her parents when she caused their house in her small village to collapse from crying and activating her powers, selectively mute from fear of her own voice, Cole adopts her, becomes a next gen ninja I guess?, the only time she uses her power is when she sings (which Cole taught her to do)
*Witch doctor, Percy
Male, Lives in the Departed Realm, takes care of it sorta?, knows good magic, hangs out with whisps, helps the ninja (usually Cole) get home by telling them about a portal
Old Man
Grocery market clerk from ignacia, payed off hospital bills for Kai (14) after Nya (10) had an allergic reaction to perfume, Kai had work for him moving veggies and such for several months (got to keep some food though)
Snake Fam
Venomari lesbian who lives in the woods with her wife and 3 adopted kids (one is human), she (her kids) rescue one the ninja and bring them home to heal up so they can go save the others
Tagalong
Jay’s cat he had growing up...Not gonna talk about her right now [if you know, you know]
Villains
Felicia Blake
Scientist obsessed with trying to understand magic and elemental powers, thinks she can figure out how to channel elemental power like the First Spinjitzu Master did, very confident, only concerned with progress and no concern for individual life, ends up capturing Jay and experimenting on him :(
*Ali
Referenced in the Amulet of Ali which channels pure evil/dark magic, was the first sorcerer ever and basically made magic, was banished to the realm of madness and gained power there bringing back his learnings to ninjago, he wrote the book of spells which clouse and and garmadon studied under Chen (which is how garm knew the realm would give him power), Probably killed by Libber (previous EM of lightning) who sacrificed herself to stop him [but did she really kill him?!], Clouse gets the amulet from Borg Tower which boosts his power and now him and Jay have to duke it out like their previous versions did
???
Someone had to make Mr. E, I wonder who?, Jay took Echo back to Cliff’s flat to live after skybound and fixed him up, he might of done a few to many upgrades though and someone saw this as an opportunity, he was attacked while Jay was away and barely got away hiding in the secret room, unfortunately Jays blueprints were stolen (unknown to him) and the rest destroyed, Jay took Echo to the his parents but after seeing Mr. E he’s worried, now someone is throwing out new nindroids based on his designs and they are still searching for Echo, this mystery person plans to build an even stronger nindroid army to sell, prove they are a worthy inventor, and maybe take down the ninja along the way [do partially sentient multicolored nindroids based on the ninja count as ocs?]
*subject to my whims and could change to fill similar plots

Master List of Fallout Canon and Canon AU Muses
Fallout 3
Charon
A gigantic, forbidding-looking, brainwashed badass of a ghoul whose protection, and combat services, are tied to the holder of his very high-ticket contract. Nobody knows who the organization was that Ahzrukhal purchased his contract from, how long he was in their service, or what horrors he was subjected to in the process of making him what he is. He isn’t talking, if he remembers at all. But despite the mental cage he is in, Charon constantly seeks ways to assert himself, follow his personal code, and prevent his own exploitation--or avenge it. A highly trained commando with a preference for mid-range weapons such as his combat shotgun, he lives for a good fight, and becomes bored and restless if his guns go cold too long. He’s got great instincts and is very protective--but is mentally and socially stunted, is observant enough to recognize that on some level, and is frustrated by it and his captivity, making him grumpy and sarcastic. He uses very formal language, sometimes with painstaking effort, in part as an attempt to be better understood. Will cause unmitigated chaos to save your life in a fight, then yell at you because you attacked an innocent shopkeeper. Probably not good to give him too many explosives.
Fallout New Vegas (or wherever)
Robert Edwin House (postgame AU)
One of the most brilliant men ever to be born into the prewar world, Robert House is the owner and primary programmer and inventor of RobCo Industries, which is responsible for everything from Fallout’s programming language, to most of its robots, to the PipBoy. Calculating the coming thermonuclear war down to a one-day window, House leveraged his tremendous wealth, influence and genius to save his beloved Las Vegas. This included preserving his body on life support while wiring his brain straight into the city’s network and defensive grid. Though not entirely successful, he survived and was able to eventually recreate and defend a walled-city version of the Las Vegas strip: New Vegas.
The AU
In a twisted version of a Good Karma Courier House playthrough, House won but was convinced by the Courier to make more merciful and thoughtful decisions. However, the Courier then betrayed them at the eleventh hour and murdered House’s physical body, leaving everyone convinced that House had died. Details can be found here. However, House had used another contingency program stored aboard the Platinum Chip to enable him to upload his mind to his own network. The Courier ended up fleeing New Vegas. (I am currently working on a description of the fates of various factions in this AU).
After the events of Fallout New Vegas and his takeover of the Hoover Dam, this version of House used code hidden in the chip to make the following changes from current canon:
Recreate a nationwide wireless Internet using freshly activated networking capability in every single Robco product
Make this Internet publicly available through the persona of the benevolent hacker Snow
Escape onto this newly created Internet, gaining access to and potential control of all RobCo products
Use this to access various new bodies, eventually including a pair of comatose synth bodies from failed Railroad memory wipes
Since then, he has been hatching plans all over the former US to steal Institute and Brotherhood of Steel technology--and reclaim as much of his own as he can. While doing this, he is acting through multiple personas. These include two Gen 3 Synth bodies he stole from the Railroad’s comatose “failures”.
House’s aliases (besides Snow) include
Tumblr media
Edwin “Ed” Case (Gen 3 synth body, former infiltrator), a brilliant repairman and roboticist operating in the Commonwealth who recently did a lot of repair and upgrade work at the Memory Den. Closest to House in voice and diction, but significantly less of an asshole. Always has at least two combat-capable robots with him.
Tumblr media
Daniel Mason (Gen 3 synth body, former courser), recently arrived in New Vegas. Not well known, as this body is largely used for physical infiltration and social engineering, or when House wishes to oversee robotic combat units more directly. Sounds nothing like House but still talks like he ate a thesaurus, though in a much more cool and reserved way. House being House, he has no idea why this body gets so much attention. Armed and dangerous. He is currently acting as House’s lieutenant and enforcer in New Vegas, along with his force of upgraded Securitrons.
He is still working on his Robert House synth body, which needs to be perfect of course...
Because of his activity in the Commonwealth and his ability to reach anywhere his network reaches, House can be interacted with by literally anyone in the Fallout universe circa 2287. Unless your character is in a memory pod or other full-interaction environment, however, you will be interacting via text, via robot, or via one of his two synth personas.
Vulpes Inculta (postgame AU)
One of the most wicked and bloodthirsty of Caesar’s commanders, this former head of the Legion’s Frumentarii was one of the most infamous men in the entire Mojave. Thoroughly and hopelessly indoctrinated in Caesar’s depraved and brutal values, he carried them out with terrifying zeal, sometimes resulting in the destruction of entire communities. Always cool, calculating, wily and in control, he never let anything get in the way of his duties--including his own needs, desires, and safety. His loyalty to Caesar was almost worshipful, and rooted in the belief that he served the actual Son of Mars.
To this end, he even plotted with the Omertas to release poison gas in the opening volley of an attack on the New Vegas strip. Forcibly stripped of any independent moral thought on the matter and thoroughly indoctrinated, he never thought twice about such actions. He served the son of a god, how could his actions not be righteous?
And then Caesar died. And Vulpes lost everything except for his life. And that was only the beginning of his comeuppance.
The AU
After brutally murdering Caesar upon learning that he had lied about his divine heritage and was afflicted with a mortal disease, Lanius took over, and promptly ordered Vulpes’s execution. Vulpes, who had anticipated this, fled, getting as far as he could from the Mojave. He knew that under Lanius’s hand, the Legion would first become a monstrous shadow of itself, and then would fall.
Illusions shattered and shamed by having to run, Vulpes spent years traveling with caravans in disguise as he sought a place to settle. Landing in the Commonwealth, he started carving out a place for himself, but his sense of purpose beyond survival and security was gone.
Worse...with it had gone his certainty that his depraved actions had been necessary and for a good cause, Doubt had crept in, and it kept growing and growing as he reconciled the differences between Caesar’s words and the reality he had lived through. Left to his own thoughts for far too long, and realizing that any remnant of the Legion that still exists will be hunting him, he is starting to crack.
He is very good at hiding this, however, being forced to learn to keep his cool in all kinds of bad situations. And so he has set himself up as a high-end, “independent problem-solver” in Diamond City, handling the kind of bloody and unethical work that would horrify Nick Valentine. But even as a showdown with his horrific karma is brewing internally, so too are external problems and temptations as he gets more and more deeply entangled with the Commonwealth’s Underworld.
Vulpes is a cold-blooded, scheming, psychopathic asshole with a volcano of repressed emotion that really only comes out when he fights. As he does not drink, date, use chems or confide in anyone, violence is and has been his only outlet, which leads to him often charging into dangerous situations with ripper in hand. When he is better under control, he deals with targets through stealth kills of various types. Unlike the vast majority of the Legion he is comfortable with most technology (science as a tagged skill), and has taken even more of an interest since fleeing East. For some reason, neither animals nor wasteland beasts will attack him when he travels alone.
His primary motivation while he wrestles with his many inner demons (which he will never let on about to anyone) is survival. He believes he will soon be the only one left who remembers what the Legion once was, and the higher aims it once strove for (through horrible means, but he doesn’t see that). While he is now hunted by the Legion’s remnants, he believes that he has a duty to survive, and maintain his discipline and his traditions before finding others to spread them among. The problem is, instead of going straight for taking over a settlement or raider gang, he’s dealing with growing doubts about Caesar, who was revealed to be mortal, and what Caesar taught him. This has made him hesitate. However, he is still using the time to gather as much information as possible about the Commonwealth, its people, its factions, and of course, their weaknesses.
Vulpes’ alias: Victor Renard
Victor Renard is a new Upper Stands resident who moved into the Latimer residence after both father and son were presumed killed by Triggermen outside the city. He has a part stake in the Colonial Taphouse, which has recently had a change of management, and is often found there, brooding over a glass of watered wine. He has a developing reputation for being very private, likely very dangerous, and being some kind of high-end mercenary. He generally wears a black suit and carries concealed weapons--at least, inside the city walls. He and the mayor/security team have a strained but polite relationship...so far.
Fallout 4
Nick Valentine
A highly talented Chicago detective, on loan to Boston PD, whose original life came to a crashing end after crime kingpin Eddie Winter murdered his fiancee and disappeared. Traumatized by the loss, he was ordered to seek treatment at a facility that was run by what would become the Institute. They scanned and copied his mind and memories, and he then died in the nuclear bombardment that soon followed. When he woke up on a trash heap in a damaged robotic body around a century later, he was left with no context or explanation for his bizarre “reincarnation”. That mystery would haunt him, like the mystery of Eddie Winter’s escape from justice, for another century. After wandering the wastes for a time, and slowly acclimating himself to his new environment and interactions with modern humans, he settled in Diamond City as a handyman after returning the late mayor’s missing daughter. Eventually, he became a trusted member of the Diamond City community...and took back up the mantle of a detective. Nick stoically carries a lot of trauma, and a lot of outrage. He works to provide peaceful, rational alternatives to the constant violence around him, and tends to be smarter and more competent than most, especially when it comes to computers or investigation. He is a bit of a curmudgeon, with a dagger-sharp wit he’ll sometimes overuse when sufficiently angered. He smokes, though he gains no benefit from it, as a tie to his human past. He tends to feel divorced from his own body to some degree, and that plus his distrust of most roboticists has caused him to forgo repair thus far.
John Hancock
Mayor of Goodneighbor and a self-styled revolutionary hooligan who is usually high on something, Hancock has more layers than you might expect, and a tragic history. Born John McDonough, he grew up in a shack with his parents and brother on the Boston waterfront. His brother was something of a bully, but not particularly wicked. They started growing apart as they grew up, with John sneaking off to Goodneighbor regularly to party and do chems. Empathetic, and significantly smarter than most people, he was able to see the suffering and inequities all around him, even after his family moved up in the world and ended up in Diamond City. John realized that his brother had...changed...when he decided to run for mayor. Running on an anti-ghoul platform, he capped off his inaugural speech by announcing the banishment of all ghouls from the city. John watched in horror as the ghouls fled with their few belongings, being brutalized by citizens and police the whole time. After confronting his brother to no effect, he forced himself to act, successfully leading several families to temporary safety in Goodneighbor. Most did not survive, however, leaving him despondent and forever loathing his pogrom-promoting brother, who is still Diamond City’s mayor. That night changed something in him, and it wouldn’t go back to sleep no matter how many chems he took. Finally, on learning that Vic, the gangster running Goodneighbor, was letting his men gun down drifters, he had a bizarre, chem-fueled epiphany. He discovered John Hancock’s coat and hat in the depths of the State House, and suddenly realized what he needed to do. He took on the clothes and cause of John Hancock, and after brutally liberating the town from Vic’s people, gave an inaugural speech declaring Goodneighbor to be “of the people, for the people”, regardless of who those people were. He took on the persona of a daring, reckless, ferociously protective folk-hero Mayor and started the long process of turning Goodneighbor into a safe haven for all. But even that wasn’t enough for him. Less than a decade ago, he discovered an experimental serum intended to turn the user into a ghoul. Sick of the face in the mirror, and motivated by half a dozen different reasons, he completed his “remaking himself” by becoming the same sort of being that his evil brother so loathed. Now, having consolidated power, he has found himself in a rut, spending most of his time putting out fires and dealing with challengers to his position and to Goodneighbor’s safety. Constantly wrapping himself up in his role and work when not carousing, however, has left a lot of painful unfinished business in his life to fester.

MHA - Aesthetic (T)
They stood on the beach. A smile stretched wide on their faces. Freckles contorted, a pale rose like blush covering his cheeks. The ash-blond stared longingly at the greenette. It was a casual relationship, non-committal. A date every so often, a makeout session and occasional sex. It wasn’t supposed to be anything more. Yet the pair of rivals had fallen for the other’s polar opposite attitude. Pride got in the way of the aggressive boy’s confession and worry came in the way of the timid boy’s confession. Dagobah municipal beach, Midoriya’s happiest memories were made here. Training for a quality he yearned for, a solution to an abusive issue. Where he finally got to feel the love of a proud father. They stopped at the midpoint of the beach, crimson eyes met emerald green.
That’s when the words slipped from his lips “Be mine, be my boyfriend.” Another happy memory on the sand, the grainy flooring he had come to love.
Coarse, grainy sand smothered between his toes. The itching of the dry and trodden grains that stuck in his shorts, no matter how hard he tried to dust it off. Tears cascaded down his cheeks. His once happy and contagious smile replaced with a repressed expression that he had forgotten since he had joined the prestigious school. He felt like that small, meek, useless boy again. He felt like a true Deku. The overwhelming feeling of impending danger fell on him as if his lungs were about to collapse. Short and shallow breaths followed. Green haired and heartbroken, that oppressed feeling of darkness, a place he had forgotten had overcome him. His melancholy thoughts were overridden by rage. He was angry. Angry at the world. Angry at the betrayal of one of his friends. Inraged at his cheating asshole of an ex-boyfriend.
Weeks passed by. Midoriya and Bakugou’s relationship had become nothing more than a six-month-long fling. The class dismissed the fact that the arrogant ash-blond had an affair with his best friend no less. Kirishima’s grin hadn’t faltered since the beginning of his newfound relationship. I̶z̶u̶k̶u̶'̶s̶  Deku’s stomach tumbled and his eyes burned, vision blurred as he caught sight of K̶a̶c̶c̶h̶a̶n̶'̶s̶  Bakugou’s hand in Kirishima’s. That stewing and bubbling of white-hot rage that boiled in the pit of his stomach, a new yet comforting emotion. They had never done that. Even when they were “official”. The crimson eyed boy detested hand holding yet here he was with his new love, hand in hand, soft smiles that made Midoriya sick.
Midoriya’s weekend schedule was no longer busy. The dates that used to fill his calendar with pink hearts that were coloured in with cheap highlighter were nowhere to be seen on his All Might calendar. Sleep was no longer a necessity as the nighttime seemed to be the voices turn to lash him with hurtful words and intrusive thoughts. No one batted an eye at the freckled boy’s deteriorating health. The nights he’d skipped dinner to avoid seeing them, he steered clear of the cafeteria for the same reason. He couldn’t stomach the sight of those two together. 3:00 am was flashing in red on the All Might themed alarm clock. A bout of insomnia had hit him like a freit train, his head screamed at him. Useless. Quirkless. Defenceless. A real Deku. Not Dekiru. No longer a positive “you can do it!” from his best friend but, a quirkless nobody who was nothing but a waste of space. Lifting the clock off the desk, a silver blade shimmered in the moonlight. Removing the tape off his masked razor, he drew the silver against his pale, freckled arms. Beads of red seeped out of his already scarred arms. Marks and scars marred his delicate skin. Reminders of his past and present teenage hurt.
Long sleeve in the summer became a common occurrence. His class didn’t bother to question it. It was as if he didn’t exist anymore. Did he swap quirks with Hagakure? Was he the invisible one? A reward was given to 1-A, a beach day. To congratulate them for surviving from one too many villain attacks throughout the year. Worry and judgement clouded his thoughts. A beach meant swimming, which inevitably ended in a revealing swimsuit. Fear that his scars would be revealed to the world, to his class. He let his anxious thoughts crawl under his skin like an unwanted ant infestation. Beach day arrived sooner than he thought. Aizawa-sensei was there along with Mic-sensei and Midnight-sensei. His unbridled anxiety soared through the roof as he removed his long sleeve top. ‘Ignored, invisible’ he thought, his class didn’t seem to notice his evergrowing collection of self-made scars on his arms. Forgetting the existence of his teachers and their horrified expressions as they witnessed his gallery of burn marks and self-inflicted wounds that wrapped around his arms and torso. Quickly lathering sunscreen on his arms and body, he hopped into the ocean and attempted to enjoy the trip.
That feeling had returned. A taste of bile filled his mouth, a pit grew in his stomach akin an intense wave of never-ending sadness. He couldn’t bear to hear their cheerful laughs, they had forgotten about him. He was nothing. He was no one. Despite that wave of sudden intense emotions, it felt right. It felt right to not exist. It felt right to just disappear. His want of a sudden disappearance had intensified as Bakugou and Kirishima had decided to have a full-blown makeout session in front of his eyes. Rays of sun hit his back, he looked down at the ocean blue, so deep and loving. He wanted to leave. He wanted to disappear. He wanted death to open her arms and give a welcoming hug because that was the one place he would fit in. By death’s side. The depth of the water was ever intriguing. He wanted to reach the bottom and never surface. So he complied with the urge. Diving deep into the cool and attentive arms of the ocean. He forgets about the surface. Black spots arriving in his vision as death was about to take him back home.
Moments had passed yet he never once saw the reaper, he felt his eyes peel open as he violently coughed out water. He had failed. Pushing himself upright, he sees that his teachers and classmates had surrounded him. Seething rage took over. After ignoring him, acting as if he didn’t exist, as if he disappeared, they finally cared when he tried to do the one thing they wanted out of the emerald-eyed boy.
Aizawa spoke up, asking him in a stern and commanding tone. “Midoriya, why did you do that?” Why had he tried to disappear? Why he couldn’t have one thing he wanted in his life? He trembled, everyone, expected the boy to burst out in tears like he usually would at any form of adversity. Anger that once settled in his stomach flew up to his vocal cords.
A malicious chuckle left his mouth, widened eyes around him. “Why?” it stared off meek and timid. “ WHY? ” His tone and volume intensified into something hair-raising. “ Everywhere I look, no matter where I am, I can never get the one thing I ever wanted. ” Classmates looked at him with dismissive eyes and the teachers with unidentified worry. That day, his former friends berated him for his selfishness and jealousy. Past their hurtful words and heartfelt insults stood three worried and clueless teachers alongside a certain half-and-half boy who feared for the reckless boy’s mental and physical health.
Scars only grew faster after the incident. He took the liberty of crossing out his bucket list early. His heart soared when he sky-dived for the first and last time. A real smile came to his face when he fulfilled his dream of getting a provisional hero license. He had taken a scuba diving class to see the wonders of the ocean. The thrill of bungee jumping. He felt less useless when he donated blood. His once dull and bleak weekends that were filled with intrusive and borderline suicidal thoughts were filled with joy in his last few weeks on this earth. His last wish on his bucket list was more illegal than the rest. A previous pipe-dream that could be possible with the help of a student in the gen-ed course. To drink and to get a tattoo on a drunken night out with his most trusted friend.
To say the least, Shinsou was shocked to see Midoriya at his dorm room holding a tattoo gun. Despite his confusion, Shinsou noticed the dark bags under his eyes and the red puffiness that comes after a hell of a lot of crying. He knew he could use some of the liquor he kept to ease him to sleep some nights when sleep never came to him. After two cups of god knows what was in his cup, the green-haired boy was drunk enough to have told the indigo boy of all of his problems. The cheating, the overwhelming need to disappear and completing his bucket list so he could end his life on his terms. Hitoshi sat there, sober and shocked. Before he could say anything, the freckled boy pulled out the tattoo gun and asked the insomniac to tattoo whatever he wanted, wherever he wanted. He decides to put it on his right collarbone, “PEACH PIT, WHERE’D THE HOURS GO?” in bold cursive letters. They both laughed the night away, it was the first time in a long time that Midoriya didn’t feel like Deku, he felt like Dekiru when he was around the indigo boy. His ironic lavender smelling body that lulled them both to sleep. Never once did what the emerald-eyed boy said left the insomniac’s mind, he held the smaller boy close and snuggled into the smell of his vanilla shampoo.
Laughing at last week’s memories was what he did whilst writing all his Letters. He had so many to write. One for his whole class to explain why he had done what he was planning to do. One to 1-A’s favourite power-couple telling them what he was put through at the hands of their hedonistic affair. One to Iida and Uraraka, thanking them for being his first friends after a decade of isolation and questioning why they acted like he didn’t exist.  One to Mei, thanking her for her countless upgrades to a costume he had come to love, with an additional apology that he won’t be using it anymore. One to Aizawa, reassuring him that his death was not his fault and that he wanted this and thanking him for actually being a great teacher in comparison to his middle school teachers. One for All Might with nothing but a bundle of his hair and a small note. One to Todoroki, thanking him for being one of his guiding lights in his darkest days, telling him not to abandon his fire and to nurture it as his own, to proclaim that he had loved the boy and for him to go to Shinsou after his death. Of course one for Shinsou, thanking him for everything, for the late-night drinks and the funny tattoo that he loved, confessing that he would never be a villain and that the unbridled love that he harboured for both him and the dual-quirk wielder. That night, he managed to get a good night sleep as to soothe his cramped hand.
He wishes he was taller so the view from the roof of heights alliance looked less daunting. In nothing but his pyjama bottoms, torso exposed for the world to see. He nervously traces the tattoo on his collar bone. He was excited for the drop. To finally be free, to be home. Cold tiles on his bare feet, he brought his body to the edge. He could finally be free. Finally, fit in. Be one with the stars.
Dry-eyed and tired, the man sat at the desk grading papers. The back of his mind raced as he remembered the beach incident from a few weeks ago. He felt a migraine coming on whilst marking Ashido's then Kaminari’s quiz and giving both of them a D. They both barely passed. Short-lived relief washed over him as the next paper he was grading was Iida’s. Checking the newly installed cameras, the greasy teacher noticed a figure standing dangerously close to the edge. A short boy with wild, curly hair and broad shoulders. Midoriya.
Opening the roof door gently as not to startle the boy who stood on the ledge. A soft call of his name, followed by a softer hum, his back still turned to the teacher. The ravenette took out his phone, opened the staff chat. A cryptic message was sent, “Come to the roof. Check cameras. No all might.” Aizawa worried for the resident problem child, he couldn’t stomach the thought of a student of his taking their own life in front of his eyes. The student spoke softly
“Aizawa-sensei, please let me do this. I left you a letter explaining everything. Please let me jump.” Never before in his 31 years of life had the man heard something so heartbreaking. The freckled boy had come to terms with death, he voice never wavered with fear nor did it break with sadness. It was just soft and subtly reassuring.
The boy danced on the edge as if life and death was an intricate yet careless ballet routine. Soft, happy chuckles left his body. He couldn’t help but to be happy. Confusion clouded the homeroom teacher’s mind. His student twirling on the fine line between the living and the dead. Two other teachers had joined his side, a cockatoo-like teacher who was abnormally quiet and the sadistic teacher wearing sweatpants paired with an oversized tee, very different from her usual style. “Little listener, can you come away from the edge?” the blond spoke gently, hand sweating nervously. It was so strange for the green-haired boy to hear his teacher acting so differently.
Midnight wind swept through the air, moonlight shone down on the four, when the greenette spoke, “I’m sorry. Please take the letters from my room, hand them out. Don’t be sad. Smile for me, okay? ”
Closer to the edge. Shouts from the teachers fell on deaf ears. Arms spread out, hands to the air and a real smile on his face. A real laugh left his lips, loud and cheerful. “Don’t miss me too much.” He leaned back and let the wind take him.
The wind flew through his hair, eyes closed he saw a woman with a motherly smile and a mole under her bottom lip, “Don’t worry Ninth, you did so well. We’re all so proud of you.” There stood six other people, welcoming their ninth user with nothing but love.
That was where he belonged, with them. With their love. He couldn’t wait to join them.
The trio of teachers looked over the edge. It seemed so surreal like time was slowing down. They saw his warm smile. Their dams broke as tears rushed down their cheeks. The rest of the staff were too far to reach him. His body falling through the air. As if he belonged there, to fly and be free. Nezu never really understood human emotions until now, his ears flopped down as he and the rest of the staff cried together. The erasure hero threw his capture weapon over the edge, to catch his beloved problem child.
Finally, Midoriya “Deku” Izuku was free.
-
A quiet day had come. Birds chirped in the cold morning breeze, trees gently swayed to the soft rhythm of the wind. It was a normal day for 1-A, the class president took the liberty to run around the dorm to wake everyone up for breakfast. He skipped past a certain freckled boy’s door as if it was a vacant room waiting for someone to move in. They lived without his existence. Like every other day. Loud shouts from the kitchen, Bakugou and Kaminari arguing whether the milk or the cereal goes first, the ash-blond’s boyfriend holding him back to avoid any unnecessary casualties. They were oblivious to last night's events, all except for one.
Bags under their sensei’s eyes were heavier than anything they had ever seen. Red and puffy, the class presumed it was quirk usage, a drawback. Just another long night of grading papers or maybe a long patrol, he was just tired . Aizawa was distraught. Every time he blinked or dared to close his eyes, there was his student, his problem child, sprawled out on the pavement. Arms and legs contorted unnaturally, crimson red juxtapose to the stark grey pavement, a soft yet haunting smile that ghosted the boy’s face. Empty, dull emerald orbs tormented him, telling him of his failure as a hero. How could he save his problem child from villains but couldn't protect the freckled boy from his inner demons. Midoriya’s penmanship, a rushed, scraggly form of cursive, the letter plagued the ravenette’s mind. A pointed gaze directed at his students, something ugly building up inside, he felt nauseous at the sight of them.
A hand shot up from a desk at the back of the class, the heterochromatic boy’s usual calm and emotionless tone was long forgotten, the voice filled with concern and worry “Aizawa-sensei, where is Izuku?” Silence was a weighted blanket that lay upon the class until whispers of “where’s Midoriya?” and “I haven’t seen him in weeks!” erupted. The pro hero’s heart squeezed, not here, he couldn’t fall apart right here. Voice strong with a slightly distressed undertone and a high held head, he spoke: “I can’t answer that, sorry.” The once quiet class had gone back to their loud and obnoxious conversations, the distaste for his students growing stronger by the second. Next period comes faster than expected, their English teacher shared the same shattered expression. His bubbly personality was nowhere to be seen. Before the class starts, Aizawa takes the dual-quirk wielder to another class.
Incessant foot-tapping, rapid pen clicking. Ectoplasm’s explanation on quadratic equations fell on deaf ears. No notifications. Not a single message. Not even a good morning. The indigo boy chewed on his nails, a nervous habit that he’d dropped years ago. Hands clammy, ears ringing with silent noise. The need, no, the want for a single reply to his thousands of messages. The short boy’s words came back to him “Toshi, I’m going to disappear one day? Don’t feel sad for me, I love you more than you know. You and Sho, okay?” . Such cryptic words yet they made so much sense. He didn’t seem to notice the gen-ed classroom door was wide open. There stood the 1-A homeroom teacher and one of their star pupils. His stomach dropped in trepidation. He couldn’t be.
One sentence, two words. “I’m sorry.” That’s all it took for the teens to understand what had happened. Soft murmurs of repetitive denial were heard from the two boys. The conference room felt so empty, so cold, so out of place. Hands met the wooden desk with a loud bang. The class next door heard the loud cry of their peers. It was so out of character, so out of place . Shouts of incoherent swears and “no”s from the two first years turned into heart-wrenching sobs. A rollercoaster of emotions when their teacher spoke up and a small slither of hope instilled in their minds. Their Izuku wasn’t to be buried 6ft under as he lay in the infirmary under the influence of a coma. To take their minds off of the bad news, they spoke about the happy times they had with the boy who had thrown their “No Friends” rule in the trash and turned their lives upside down with a single smile. They would wait. For him .
A whole school assembly was called. The auditorium piled with talented students from every course. Ranging from the first to the third year. Whispers and murmurs of the mystery topic of the sudden assembly filled the empty space. Shoto and Hitoshi sat next to each other, hand in hand, both trembling with silent rage at the sight of a certain aggressive pomeranian being overly affectionate with his boyfriend. Anger was one of the less pretty Todoroki emotions, after all, look what it did to Endeavour. Students took their seats as questionable stares were thrown at the brainwasher to ask why he was sitting with the hero course. Said looks that went unanswered as the principal cleared his throat to gather everyone’s attention. The dishevelled principal walked on stage, perched on top of Aizawa’s shoulders. He looked manic, the rat-cat chimaera’s fur stuck out in all directions, all the staff held the same heavy bags under their eyes as if it was a fashion statement. A chilling breeze passed them all, this assembly wasn’t going to be fun at all.
“Today’s assembly was called for as last night, a student in the hero course tried to take his own life.” Composure was one thing that Nezu wished to hold on to. Gasps and turned heads to see if any of their peers were missing. All except for one class. Clenching his fist, he realises that to 1-A it was like Midoriya didn’t exist. Like he just disappeared.
Bottled up in their bodies, a volcano of boiling hot rage simmered. “This student was Midoriya Izuku of Class 1-A.” Like a tidal wave, it all came crashing down. Overwhelming silence . Deafening silence . Teachers up on the stage struggled to stop their own tears. All Might stood in the corner, attempting to stay strong for the kids as the tears freed themselves and flowed down his boney cheeks.
Class 1-A sat there, stunned. Midoriya was gone. Midoriya Izuku was gone and it was their fault . They had ignored him, neglected his needs, neglected him when he needed someone. All actions have consequences and this is what happened in return for their childish behaviour. The light of their class, the class sweetheart, their reckless friend that had risked his life repeatedly for them had attempted to take his life because of their selfishness and baseless assumptions. Guilt was an emotion well deserved for the first-year class.
The heroes-in-training cried. Once that first tear broke free, the rest followed in an unbroken stream. All except for one. He sat with a scrunched nose and ugly scowl. Muttering profanities under his breath, his emotions going haywire. He was angry, confused and ever so slightly distraught. Yet he was never guilty .
“Stupid fucking Deku, always fucking things up for everybody. Useless shit.” Words muttered so lowly, swept under the sound of soft sniffles and loud cries. Words that wished to never be heard. Unlucky for the ash-blond, those words were received loud and clear from a certain half-and-half teen.
A small murmur left Todoroki’s mouth, one that despite sitting next to him, Shinsou couldn't hear all too clearly. The indigo boy leaned over to ask if Shoto was okay. The dual-quirk user shot up from his seat and spoke with so much venom it made Hitoshi flinch. “Say that again, Bakugou .” Todoroki’s face was devoid of any emotion except for unbridled rage. The ash-blond scoffs, as if he’s going to answer to the icy-hot bastard. Eyes were on the two strongest members of the freshman class as they stared each other down. Raw emotions out in the open, a cocky and arrogant smirk contrast to the aloof and enraged glare.
Minutes had passed and the staring had yet to cease. Eyebrows furrowed and lips upturned, Shinsou’s irate aura became stronger by the minute. His muscle tensed as he watched the scene. His questions of “who said what?” was blocked out by both parties. Patience running thin, the lavender haired boy snarls and bares his teeth. The teachers watched their students as if it were an episode straight out of a soap opera. He had enough, flipping the switch to his quirk, he directed his question towards the arrogant blond. “ Tell me what you said. ”
The words left his mouth, monotone as his narcissistic personality had been put on hold at the hands of the Gen-ed student’s brainwashing power. The indigo boy paled. That bastard. Their Izuku had tried to end his life because of the atrocious behaviour and treatment of his “friends”. Not for the fucking spotlight. Hitoshi gripped the leash to his anger as the beast on the other end was howling and barking, lunging at the opportunity to grab the smug asshole just to beat the living shit out of him. Todoroki didn’t have the idea .
Arms stretched over the chair in front of him, he grabs a hold of the blond by the back of his shirt and throws him into the empty center aisle. Before Bakugou could get up, the half-and-half boy took his chance to gain the advantage. Straddling the explosive teen, he reels his fist back and strikes his nose. Music to his ears as a loud and wet crack was heard. He heeded no mercy. He held no punches. Everything was fair game .
Time had frozen still as all the attendees of UA watched. The repeated grunts that came from the middle of the auditorium. The feral boy struggled against the hero’s son. He wasn’t going to give him the chance. As his fist made contact with the crimson-eyed boy’s face, his nose oozed blood that decorated the aggressor’s split knuckles like a well earned trophy. The mere sight of the ash-blond’s sharp features tempted his mind into pounding his face in a little more. Strike after strike, satisfaction brought him to the present as he admired his work as if it were the Mona Lisa.
Heavy grunts and laboured breathing were the only thing the two boys had in common. Every pupil at the edge of their seats at the sight of the 1-A powerhouse duel. Eyes dazed, the students saw the damage done to the megalomaniac’s face. The once straight and sharp nose had been replaced with a mangled mass of cartilage and blood. Like a waterfall, gore gushed without hesitation. Bruises were starting to form, a faint purple ring slowly developed around his eye. As soon as the teachers split up the freshmen fighter’s, the crimson-eyed boy lunged at the dual-user’s direction and delivered his famous right hook. The boy barely made a noise when the fist collided with his nose, he grew up with an abusive father, to him this was just his average Sunday morning .
Hairs stood up on the back of the blond’s neck. Todoroki’s facial expressions were extremely out of character. An arrogant smirk graced his face in substitute for his aloof straight face. That same smirk broke out in bone-chilling laughter, eyes were on him, they were all full with genuine concern. His once bright, pearly whites were stained red as he showed them off with a grin. Saliva and blood mixed, he takes the liberty of spitting in blond’s face. Bakugou had messed with someone he loved and this time he won’t get away with it .
A dark chuckle left Shinsou “You guys messed with the wrong people” To carry on, the heterochromatic boy had opened his mouth to speak, “I don’t give a shit if you’re my classmates, I’m going to make your lives a living hell. ” The indigo haired teen wrapped an arm around the bloodied boy’s waist to turn heel and adventure to Recovery Girl’s office.
That day, a declaration of war had been sounded. 1-A were prey and the hunt had only just begun .

For the prompt thing if this is alright: Dub con with innocent and naive Peter where Tony tricks him into having sex with him all the time because Peter doesn’t know any better then Peter only finds out what they’re really doing when he has sex ed or something at school but then he still returns to Tony because he’s grown to like doing it Tony would just be surprised because Peter would start telling him things like wanting to get filled up so much that he has babies
this went in a slightly different direction than you might have intended, because I have a really hard time imagining Peter being so naive post-puberty (being both gen Z and a super smart kid).  and then I didn’t have the patience to build up all of the brainwashing, so I took a third-party shortcut.  Hopefully it still has the spirit of what you wanted though, lol
*
Tony isn’t the foster dad type.
Ok, well, massive understatement, and widely accepted knowledge considering the reception the press release had gotten, but.  Peter’s different.  And the circumstances are unique ones.
Iron Man wasn’t in the cult-busting business, but when you land in upstate New York to destroy an arms-smuggling operation and discover roughly 100 brainwashed civilians...  Well.  You can’t call yourself a superhero and leave them there.  Not the way they’d been living.
That wouldn’t have resulted in Tony as a legal guardian, not by itself.  But there was something about a small, brown-eyed boy with deft hands and a quick mind, forced to use those assets to invent next-gen weaponry...
It struck a little too close to home.
Peter is special.  He’s a sweet kid, so eager for approval and praise, with a brilliant untrained mind.  The things he’s invented without a day of formal education...well, even Tony’s impressed.  But Peter’s also a little sheltered, a little warped by his special upbringing, and even if he’d had family fit to be guardians, Tony’s not sure that would have been safe.
What Peter knows, what Peter can do...it’s too dangerous to just let him go.  He’s barely fifteen and already on SHIELD’s threat list.  Either Tony took Peter or SHIELD would, and Tony doesn’t trust SHIELD as far as he can throw them, even now that they’re more like a bush baby than an 800-pound gorilla.
So.  Tony has a foster kid.
They’ve settled into somewhat of a routine.  Tony’s days are no longer his own, because Peter’s pretty clingy.  And as JARVIS constantly reminds him, children need structure, especially after their whole world implodes in a crash of red and gold metal.
He can still get work done, thank God, since Peter loves the lab.  But they’re on a pretty strict meal plan to help Peter gain weight, and there’s tutoring to be done (thank you, JARVIS), and Tony is supposed to be modeling this whole “balanced life” thing, so the days of 20 hours straight inventing have gone the way of Tony’s sex life.
Their “free time” should probably consist of more than whatever movie is next on Peter’s pop culture education, but it’s not like Tony has a lot of kid-friendly activities in his repertoire, and Peter’s not so good at being in public yet, anyway.
They’ve got a rhythm, now, and Tony’s almost adjusted to all Peter’s odd quirks.  He thinks they’ve hit all the biggest landmines: the weird diet issues, the endless parade of outrageous beliefs, the guilt over not being allowed to complete his mission....the snuggling.
Tony’s still a little embarrassed about the snuggling.  At least he convinced Peter to save it for movie time, on the couch, and not to crawl into the master bed anymore, but still, it’s...awkward.  The way Peter crawls into his lap like he’s five and not almost grown, clings to Tony like a baby monkey and fidgets in ways that are decidedly...
Well.  Tony really needs to get laid, because his body misinterprets where all that lap-squirming is headed.
Still, it’s...innocent.  And Peter needs it, touch-starved and lonely now that Tony’s the only one he has.  Tony even thinks it’s kind of cool, when he has some distance from it.  He’s not sure he was EVER allowed to be affectionate with Howard.  For a weapons-hoarding doomsday cult, they didn’t seem to have the kind of toxic masculinity you’d expect.
Tony’s gotten used to the cuddling, and he really thinks they’ve hit all the biggest landmines, until the evening Peter grabs his hand and presses it against his very hard cock.
Tony tries to breathe, somewhat outside his body as his hand is casually used to stimulate a teenager’s cock without his permission. Peter’s eyes are on the movie (which is decidedly not playing a sex scene), but his hips are rocking up into the touch and his ass (which is not a lush, tasty handful, Tony hasn’t noticed) rubs coincidentally against Tony’s not-at-all interested dick.
Peter’s chewing on his bottom lip, eyes half-lidded, color high on his cheeks, and his breath has started to go ragged.  It’s not until he starts to grunt a little that Tony suddenly snaps partway out of it.
It’s a struggle to keep his voice calm, because he knows - he just knows - this is one of those things Pete doesn’t realize is wrong.  “Pete...what are we doing right now, kid?”
Big brown eyes turn away from The Empire Strikes Back and toward Tony.  Then he answers, “Making it go away,” in a matter-of-fact way that says this answer is obvious and just a thing that one naturally does.
Tony’s not sure what his face does in response, but Peter’s no dummy.  His entire body goes still (thank God), and he studies Tony’s face with a puzzled little frown.
Then the frown slowly drops into a devastated look.  “I’m doing something wrong?”
Tony swallows hard at the sight of those eyes gone glassy with tears.  It’s always painful to pull this rug out from under Peter a little bit at a time.  “It’s...well, it’s.  Not wrong, it’s normal to...  Jesus, kid, I need to know what you think we’re doing, here.”
Peter’s hand releases Tony’s, but before Tony can sigh in relief, the kid is halfway off his lap, on the verge of fleeing in shame.  Tony pulls him back down, shushing, well aware of what his next few days look like if he lets Peter go.
“Hey, you’re ok.  It’s okay, we’ll deal with whatever it is, I just need more information.  Help me run a diagnostic here, would you?”
“I thought it was normal.”
Peter’s used to knowing, understanding, and every time they have to rewrite the rules of the world as he knows them, it’s...  Hard.  And he beats himself up.  “I know, Pete.  It’s gonna be okay.  Just tell me what you know.  We’ll figure it out just like we always do.”
“It’s just...  Someone’s always helped it go away.”  Peter’s red-faced and avoiding Tony’s gaze now.  Tony’s not even sure he understands it’s about sex - that’s an area where Peter is painfully naive.  He’s probably just this mortified over realizing he’s somehow wrong.
“Helped what go away?” Tony asks, deliberately putting aside ‘someone always helped,’ because you can’t blow up cult leaders twice.
“The...swelling,” Peter mutters, like he’s lacking vocabulary for this thing someone ‘always helps with.’
“Your erection,” Tony tries to clarify, and Peter shrugs like he always does when Tony’s words are different than the ones that he knows.  “Did they tell you what causes an erection, Pete?”
Peter finally looks up and makes eye contact, looking even more confused at the question.  “It just...happens, right?  Like a sneeze.  I mean, it only started the last few years, but...”  Peter’s eyes are keen on Tony’s face.  “Why, what is it?”
“It’s...”  Jesus, Tony is tired.  The thought of trying to answer that question without sending Peter spiraling makes Tony want to lie down for a year.  And, well, at fifteen, erections DO just happen.  “You’re right, it’s a normal bodily function, it’s just one we take care of by ourselves, usually.”
“By myself?”  Peter looks somewhat crestfallen, and Tony’s afraid he can see where this is going, but he has to try.
“Yeah, it’s private, like being naked is a private.” Because that’s one they’ve conquered already, thank Christ.  “Why don’t you duck into the bathroom and help it go away by yourself.”
“Okay.  I’m sorry, Mr. Stark.”
“It’s okay, Peter.  I’m not angry.”
The kid gets off his lap and slinks off to the bathroom and Tony lets his head fall back with a sigh.  Jesus fucking Christ.
*
Twenty minutes later, Pete’s not back, and Tony just keeps telling himself ‘one more minute, one more minute before I check.’  When he can’t avoid it anymore, he pads quietly to the guest bathroom’s door and listens for a second, heart sinking when he hears Peter quietly crying.
Fuck.  Fuckfuckfuck.  He was afraid of this.
Tony takes a deep breath and knocks.  “Bud?  Everything okay?”
There’s a frantic shuffle for five seconds, then the door opens, revealing Peter’s splotchy face.  “No.  I can’t...I’m not...I can just let it go away by itself.  It will, eventually.”
Tony’s eyes fall to the tent pole in Peter’s pants and winces.  “Is that what you’ve been doing since you got here?  Letting it go away by itself?”
Peter shrugs, which is a yes.
“I’m guessing it’s pretty painful right now, though, yeah?”
Tony watches Peter clamp down on fresh tears.  “Yeah.”
“Okay,” Tony sighs, and puts an arm around Pete’s shoulders.  “Let’s go sit down and I’ll help.”
It takes some coaxing for Peter to relax in his lap, this time, and it’s a weird, fucked up funhouse mirror of responsible behavior to be soothing a teenage boy to just relax so Tony can rub him off.
“That’s it,” Tony murmurs when Peter starts to thrust against his hand.  “That’s a good boy, just let me help.”
“I’m sorry,” Pete says miserably.  Tony presses a kiss to his forehead.
“Don’t be sorry, nothing’s your fault.  You’re a very good boy, and you’re doing the best that you can.” Peter’s chest gives a hitch, and of course, Tony thinks.  Of course he has a fucking praise kink.  “You make me so happy, Peter.  I couldn’t ask for a sweeter, more brilliant boy in my life.  You deserve to feel good, so just relax and let me help.  I’m happy to help.  There you go, you’re almost done, and you’re so very pretty like this - “
Peter’s fingers have been twisting in Tony’s shirt, kneading like a kitten as he pants, then suddenly they clench as he presses up against Tony’s hand and shudders hard.  His jeans are too thick for Tony to even feel warmth, but the way the kid collapses in a euphoric puddle says all that he needs to know.
Tony reaches up and combs Peter’s hair back from his face, smiling when Peter nuzzles into his hand.
“Pete, why haven’t you asked me to ‘help’ before?”
Peter’s eyes blink sleepily open.  “Well, I didn’t know you very well.  You can’t just ask anyone, right?”
“Right,” Tony says, feeling dazed.  “That makes sense.”
Well, it doesn’t.  Not when the kid doesn’t know that it’s sex.  Except it does; if he thinks it’s like a sneeze...you don’t ask strangers to help blow your nose.  So, there’s that.
Jesus.
Pete’s rapidly falling asleep in Tony’s arms, so he doesn’t have time to figure out how to break the news that this is not a sneeze.  Peter’s way too big to pick up when he’s dead weight, and hell to wake up once he’s passed out.
“Time for bed, kiddo.  Go brush your teeth.”
There’s an adorable grumpy grumble, then the kid’s hauling himself off of Tony’s lap, and disappearing down the hall without so much as a thank you.  Which is good, because Tony shouldn’t be thanked for what he did.  Christ.
It’s okay.  It was just once, and it’s not like the first time Tony’s done weird things for Peter.  He’s not a creep, he doesn’t plan to do it again.  Tomorrow, he’ll sit Peter down, and...  Look, it won’t be a pleasant adjustment, but eventually Peter will have to learn to take care of himself.
Just like Tony.  A cold shower ought to do the trick.
