just thinking thoughts trying to articulate them but re: trans names and even "stereotypical" trans names i just think it's like. luckily it's died down for now at least on here or maybe i just follow people who aren't assholes but seriously what was with that whole era where people just made fun of people's names or tongue in cheek poked fun at each other with a little too much cruelty let alone done by CIS people... like that's so weird. like i do have what i'd call a Stereotypical Trans Name in that it's unusual and "weird" to other people and it's not even actually like, the most out there or individualistic thing ever it's just kind of an old timey name that isn't as popular anymore but i chose it specifically bc it was a "proper" name. and i STILL get shit for it like all the time. and it's just like. why do people CARE...
like. i know you can't make grand sweeping generalisations for a group of people as varied as every trans person on earth but for a lot of us i'd go ahead and say your name as a trans person and even just AS A PERSON... A HUMAN BEING is an important part of who you are and ties into your identity to a degree that differs from person to person. and for a trans person specifically can be one of the only things you have for... yourself, along with pronouns, especially in online spaces/if you're not out/if you are out but struggle for whatever reason to even be given the dignity of being called YOUR OWN NAME, etc. i'm not gonna harp on about that aspect forever bc i think we all know but it's just like, in the face of that annoying tiktok cunts making a list of "every transfem is called [blank] and every transmasc is called [blank]" and there being 6k comments talking about how stupid and unserious it all is is just NASTY. like man shut the fuck up 😭
i don't find it funny like 95% of the time i think it's just like mean ... i also know people could probably read this and be like shut up you're being annoying it's not that deep but like whatever man. i think it's basic decency to not make fun of people for something that's a part of who they are especially if that identity puts them at risk which to be real can affect pretty much everyone other than white cishet christians etc at FAR worse severity/cost and i think instilling the idea that "people's names are fair game" outside of actual tongue in cheek intercommunity good faith joking around is actually Bad. not that i'm actually comparing these things bc it's not 1:1 and has different levels but still i think it comes from the same like... source. the amount of times i've had people use my own name as if it's a gotcha in anon hate is actually astronomical and half of them don't even realise they're BEING literally transphobic is crazy. i mean i've joked about it and i don't take it that seriously but it's still like, transphobic and i hate these people it just also doesn't bother me because i'm a normal person who isn't actually insecure about it and who literally cares what someone's name is. and xfiles girls love me unintentional side effect.
#🐾#like don't get me wrong i did pick the name bc i thought it WAS cute and a bit different and that made it like fun but like ?! how is that#a crime 😭😭 people naming themselves after nouns or angels or fictional characters has been happening forever first of all. and second it#just so seriously doesn't even matter#i also know that the notion of being like ''it's actually transphobic to make fun of a trans person who having a really typical western#english name'' could be weird bc like obviously they're not being targeted for THAT that's not what i'm saying it's just like. mean#to do to someone who chose their name (usually). esp if they're younger too like why are people bullying kids ... get a job ?!#i dunno... just thinkin...#also obv not comparable to you know. racism or antisemitism or antiblackbess etc and the way names being targeted there works#but it's also not like the asshole 16 year old boys on tiktok aren't also holding the same ideals#and i also don't really mean those things that are like Haha every transmasc is named [list of typical bames] though it is annoying#that's just like. well. like i said annoying. i just mean the amount of cunts who have been like is your name REALLY that#i can't believe that's your name i'd never take you seriously if that's true ... you mean that's your online name right like a pseudonym..#you don't Really go by that it's not REAL it's something you CHOSE it's not Serious#LIKE DAMN!!!! shut up 😭#also i actually have seen ppl make fun of a cultural name bc they thought it was a ''trans'' one and therefore fair game#''your name is literally [blank] 💀'' like ...?!#anywya this isn't super serious tldr it's just kinda weird hmmm...

ASSASSIN'S CREED III PROMPTS *  assorted dialogue from the video game, adjust as necessary
we never took them seriously. maybe we should have.
i'm getting ahead of myself.
we've been fighting them for thousands of years.
i've seen the truth.
it holds the power to change everything.
there's only so much we can do.
if we can't find a way to stop it, these next few weeks will probably be our last.
it worked. we think. we hope.
we're here. let's go.
you must find the key.
here we go again.
do you hear us?
you collapsed and entered into a fugue state.
you weren't in any danger.
i know what i'm looking for, by the way. it's a key.
i'd like to run a couple of quick tests.
have you seen it before?
my father brought me here as a child.
on to business then.
the stairs are watched. you'll need to find another way up.
you should have come to me.
for what it's worth, i'm sorry.
that's why we've called you here.
i am yours to command.
well, then i'd best be on my way.
my research has been stolen. without it, i'm of no use to you.
i'll see if i can't speed things up.
we need to find a way inside.
i believe i've found the solution to our problem.
we'll attack on my signal.
i made a promise to you, [name], one i intend to keep.
the sooner we're done, the sooner we can get out of this cold.
it does not engender peace to cut your way to resolution.
if we applied the sword more liberally and more often, the world would be a better place than it is today.
now i've upheld my part of the bargain, i expect that you will honor yours?
you seem disappointed.
you have shown me great kindness, [name]. thank you.
really? that's your response? it's like dealing with a six year old.
i sense my words cause pain.
do you even know what that symbol represents?
come on. i've got something to show you.
very well. i'll train you.
you're also going to need a new name.
what's true and what is aren't always the same.
you'll be happy to hear there's actually good news for once.
it's silly for us to go back and forth like this.
we cannot give up our home.
do you have a name? do you know who is responsible?
time will tell if you speak the truth.
why are you here? has something happened?
you should have heeded my warning.
perhaps you'll respond better to the sword.
are you threatening us?
i thought it might bring clarity or instill a sense of accomplishment. but all i feel is regret.
such sacrifices must never come lightly.
all of them must be dealt with in turn.
you speak the words, but do you believe them?
takes a true monster to do something like this.
every day i wait, more will suffer.
many who should've died today now live because of you.
we do the best we can with what we've got.
you wield your blade like a man, but your mouth like a child.
there are more important things at stake here.
i do what is right. no more. no less.
i don't even see a stall in here. what if i had to take a dump?
please just mute the microphone if you do.
life is not a fairy tale, and there are no happy endings.
in your haste to save the world, take care you don't destroy it!
our interests are aligned.
perhaps some time together might do us good.
i can kill you now if you prefer.
would you like me to come along and hold your hand, perhaps?
why the change of heart? where is this coming from?
you oppose tyranny. injustice. these are just symptoms. their true cause is human weakness.
you have said so much... but you have shown me nothing.
tell me of your latest exploits.
you have not come this far to throw it all away over misplaced sentiment.
there is nothing more to discuss.
i should have stayed.
now you must hide it.
what once was shall be again.

one thing about sufin that I've noticed is that sweden is not allowed to be angry/irritated at finland (fanon), he is always portrayed as this perfect ✨husband✨ Do the fandom really think that Finland never ever does something wrong? I'm just imagining sufin planning their anniversary, and then finland ends up staying out late forgetting he was supposed to come home to sweden, and when he does come home being like "I'm sooooorryyy but estonia insisted we take another round of shots!" and sweden is just;😑
THIS!!! YOU'RE SO RIGHT
I literally can't name a single negative trait people have collectively assigned Finland in the fanon. Granted, Finland is a boring character with not much going on with him. So he's not particularly interesting to explore. Though the fandom portrays him as having bloodlust or murderous intent, it's always just played for laughs. But that could be an interesting flaw to give him; commit to the bit! Make him fucked-up or even capable of violence if he's provoked. Finland should be way more awful than he is portrayed as. I want him to be self-centered, stubborn, and just painful to work with at times. He's petty and unpredictable.
But true. I don't feel like it's solely SuFin issue though. I feel like people never let Sweden be mad at anything. Or the only time he's allowed to be mad is at Denmark. Maybe it conflicts with his stoic/mysterious persona, but I feel like he'd be so easily angered, especially when he gets overwhelmed? We don't even see him annoyed or provoked!
If I had to guess as to why that is, it probably stems from the fact that in the canon, for a good portion of their screen time, Finland is either scared or nervous around Sweden. He's always wondering if he has offended him (needless to say, I don't like this). That sort of nervousness, combined with their power dynamic probably just makes people overcompensate to make Sweden the perfect person, a gentle giant who could never do anything wrong.
So, I get where it comes from and I can totally understand it. And it's not like everyone has to make their favs super fleshed out and realistic, and have equal amounts of positives and negatives. Sweden especially is a comfort character for many people in this fandom. But I personally like nuance, and I love shitty characters. And I love when the past comes to haunt them about it <3 Just torturing my fictional dolls, don't mind me
But I'm seriously interested to hear, especially from writers, how do you handle this issue! What kind of bad traits do you give Sweden and Finland? When do they have conflicts? Believe me, I have a long list, so I'd love to hear yours! I'm especially interested in Nationverse character-building

is there a name for the fan continuity you’re making? (ie transformers earthspark, transformers prime something like that) also you probably get tons of people telling you this constantly but i really like how you portray megastar in your work, they are so messy and i love it, it’s fresh and new compared to. well. tfp and idw as the main offenders cough cough
anyways also want you to know you’re super cool and i love your artstyle its like the feeling of running your hands on smooth metal if that makes sense
hi!! tbh im not sure if ive ever properly said it, but the working title is The Decepticons! might be subject to change, but it works for now lol
as for the art style thing--I'm glad you mentioned it, because that is kind of what I'm going for! I love the blocky and geometric angles of things like gundams, but the thing that got me interested in robots was transformers prime, and I'll always be a fan of the sleek, modern, and organic appearance of the characters in that... I wanted to bring those together for my own art, because I think both of those are true to the spirit of TF :)
as for your second point--you should know that i will never pass up an opportunity to talk about my thoughts on writing and characterization and stuff, so forgive me preemptively for the long post, lol
thank you for the kind words! I agree that there are a lot of issues with how certain characters have been portrayed... while the comics were great for fleshing out certain classic characters, they also seriously flattened many others. These characters have decades and series long histories of exploration and experimentation that feels like it's been completely restricted to one of only a few avenues lately, and that bothers me a little bit. like, when was the last time we've seen a piece of transformers media where they have inventive takes on character relationships in the same way as Animated? what's the point of rebooting and refreshing if nothing new happens??
Megatron and Starscream are a great indicator of that for me--their relationship in G1 is bombastic, but also complicated and interesting. they're the most important decepticons by far and their characteristics are integral to the functioning and philosophy of the entire group, to the point that, for example, removing Starscream from the equation of the Decepticons, I'd argue, makes Megatron an entirely different character. They're necessary to eachother, but it really feels like (with very few exceptions) their relationship has only gotten flatter and flatter over time. Even Prime, which I'd argue has the most textually interesting and deep take on their relationship, is, very obviously, held back by an overture of cheap, aesthetic violence. I firmly believe you could rewrite TFP without any of the violence and none of the character arcs would have to change at all, because, at the end of the day, it's purely superficial--it has nothing to say, and exists only as a way to bolster Megatron's dominant image, and to satisfy the audience's assumed disdain for Starscream.
while obviously it is transformers, and nobody is required to think that deeply about it, I'm a dork and it's always bothered me specifically, because, outside of that, there IS a lot of complexity to the stuff that happens!! I like this series specifically because there is so much variation and so many perspectives that have touched this franchise, and, in the best cases, we get the underlying character arc in Prime, where Megatron and Starscream's relationship is a case of two people who respect eachother more than anyone else and can't quite find equal footing about it.
going the IDW route and turning their interactions into constant hostility is the easy way out because it adds the aesthetic of "maturity" via shock value without having anything to say; however, the actual most thoughtful variations on the characters can communicate that both of them are inherently flawed without any of that, and that's what I want to do. this is my writing exercise, in essence... I'm not trying to make the decepticons "good" and just show them frolicking about all the time, I'm trying to make a properly "adult" spin on the formula that actually treats the audience like adults instead of trying to shock them. I'm a nerd about this already so I'm not going to shy away from the intense relationship these characters have because it's too complicated and messily homoerotic to unpack. if I've got the liberty to, why not?
anyway. thanks for reading once again! i can never make these short and succinct haha. i feel like i repeat myself all the time but also I never run out of things to say about them. as always, I'm really grateful that other people are interested in these things--I know none of it is really super important and it's probably something only I ever think about, but I feel like I owe it to the people who have contributed their perspectives and artistic ability to this thing to care at least a little, lol.

Hey there! A bit late but i'm here for the ask game! (*´v`*) I'd like to ask 1, 11, 23, 63, 78 and 88 but i know it's a lot so no pressure, please feel free to ignore any of them if you don't feel like answering it! 🫂💖
Hi!!! Not late, never late! I will put this under the cut because ~lenght~. These are all very good questions, thank you Lev 💙🪲
(What’s your biggest insecurity? Do you like who you are around people? Do you believe in an afterlife? Do you ever get paranoid? What’s one thing you don’t feel comfortable doing around your friends? What kinds of things confuse you?)
1 - What’s your biggest insecurity?
My body, which is such a sad answer, but it's true. I'm working on it. My voice - some people do not take me seriously because I have a "girly voice", especially when stressed, even though it's really not that high pitched. I had to force my Big Girl Sexy Deeper Voice out at my previous job just to get my points across. Again, sad.
Also my inability of expressing my feelings out loud. I write it a lot, but I can't genuinely remember the last time I said the words "I love you" with my own voice.
I know why I am the way I am, and I wish it didn't get to me, but this will be my cross to bear until the end of my days. I think I try to be as loudly affectionate as possible here, because I'm hoping it will make it easier for me irl.
11 - Do you like who you are around people?
Depends on the people, really. I like the way I am around my friends, even if there are parts of me I supress. I wish I was better around my sister - she deserves more than I am, and it frustrates me that I sometimes act like our parents towards her. It kills me inside.
I don't know how to answer in relation to my parents. On one hand, it's very relieving to be amongst people who understand certain parts of me without me having to justify or explain (something about being a 1st gen immigrant child lol). On the other, being at home puts me back to my 16yo mindset, when I was really angry and sad and struggling, and I hate it.
With strangers, it really depends. I am too anxious to notice haha. I just really like to be alone, I suppose. It's easier that way, at least.
23 - Do you believe in an afterlife?
Yes! I am very much Christian, so I do believe in heaven/hell, and the concept of an afterlife.
I don't really talk about it much here, because I know there are so many of you who have been failed and mistreated in the name of religion (which was not how any of this was supposed to happen, and it really breaks my heart) and prefer to steer away, which I 100% understand. Also, some people get extremely weird around Christians, and assume a number of things without even talking to them, so I spare myself the unpleasantness. I hope this makes some sense!
63 - Do you ever get paranoid?
Baby, anxiety is my middle name. I get paranoid about things you could never imagine. 😎 But yeah.
Every time I hear my door bell ringing, or knocking, I always think it's the police coming to get me, even thought the most illegal thing I've done is download music?? And my family is... normal. No suspicious activity or anything, so I really don't understand why. Make it make sense.
78 - What’s one thing you don’t feel comfortable doing around your friends?
There isn't much I'm not comfortable with tbh. My friends have seen me at my worse, and we know almost everything about each other. We've been friends for a very long time.
Maybe just being affectionate? I have a really hard time with that, but it gets easier around them. And they know how unhinged I am about my blorbos, so I don't really need to censor myself haha. I do a little code-switching. I speak a bit differently around my family, and with them I tend to use a more generalised/commonly accepted language, rather then my parent's countries expressions.
88 - What kinds of things confuse you?
LIFE IN GENERAL. How do you make decisons? How do you know you're in the right path?
Math. Cars. Sports. It's all Simlish to me lmao.

~Ghetsis X Reader~
Word Count: 1906
Content: SFW
Tumblr media
-Trojan Horse-
It's a well known saying - there's a first time for everything. Everyone makes at least one fatal error in life. Yours just occurred to be an unfortunate acquaintanceship with a certain man, and as harmless as it may sound, had given you more trouble than one could ever expect.
Ghetsis Harmonia is his name. You took him as just another greedy sycophant, a fool that nobody would take seriously, a swindler chasing money and fame, a shameless politician proposing an irrational idea that would never come true. All of those could apply depending on what words he'd choose to feed you at a given moment. And nobody suspected a thing.
It was unusual; the way he spoke about what he seemingly believed, offering a different outlook on what the citizens of Unova understood as mundane. The worst of all, some people actually blindly believed his absurdities, proceeding to apply his philosophy to their day-to-day life.
Ghetsis was in another meeting with influential big shots in Castelia City, renting out an office in a building you happened to work at. It was on the top floor with a grandiose view of the horizon, facing the harbor. As an amateur, you could've only drawn one conclusion: he's a rich nitwit with a distaste for subtlety, already making himself intolerable in your eyes.
You were assigned to clean up after everyone leaves, even though that wasn't your job in the slightest. In short, nobody else in your district wanted to get their hands dirty, not even the janitor, so, of course, they all scurried off home leaving you no choice but to take the task upon yourself, ruining your mood altogether.
Already angry and impatient, you tapped your foot like a child, pacing back and forth near your work desk, occasionally leaning against it to check your Xtransceiver for any calls or messages to respond to in order to kill some more time.
After what felt like another painful hour, the sound of chairs being moved around as well as overlapping muffled voices signified the end of their discussion. People in expensive suits and new shoes started walking out and towards the exit, laughing, chatting and exchanging thoughts, all of which you paid no attention to. Not that you were being interesting to them either. You were just glad it was over, praying that they were at least as civilized as they looked, enough to not leave behind an outright mess.
"Lord Ghetsis?", a short, older man called out, his hand pressed against the door frame.
You could see the aforementioned Ghetsis Harmonia sorting through some papers with a content smirk on his face.
"Go ahead, Zinzolin. I'll be there shortly."
Zinzolin nodded, leaving without further question or complaint. His hasty footsteps echoed for a short time, your gaze darting towards his attire, it being far more sophisticated than what you've seen Team Plasma usually wear.
Just when your lips have finally folded up in an amused smile, it faded as fast as the hope in your eyes the moment they've accidentally locked with Ghetsis's. His gaze was cunning, sharp and cold, yet intrigued by your lonely presence.
"You've been idling there for a while, so may I ask what business you have at this time?", his way of speaking was a bit outlandish, yet exquisite and poetic, somehow resembling a forced formality, despite appearing pleasant.
"Cleaning up, unfortunately", you explained briefly, not in the mood for tying yourself up with the man whose looming intimidation managed to reach you abnormally fast.
"You poor thing. Those 'gentlemen' have made quite a ruckus around here. You wouldn't happen to want some company while tending to the office? I was hoping I'd be on my way by now, but alas, these contracts and other written matters won't read and sign themselves, I'm afraid."
You raised an eyebrow, asking for reassurance, wondering at the same time why he wouldn't leave that for when he arrives back.
"I can't stand much noise nor waiting for too long, if my guess about the question on your mind is correct. So go ahead, I don't mind. After all, who knows, maybe this encounter is meant to be", absolutely not.
Alarms were going off inside of your head, red flags raising themselves, yet there didn't seem to exist a polite way to kick him out. You ended up nodding in defeat and stepping in, only to be appalled at the sight of the dirty floor and full trash cans.
"You're an employee here?", his voice delayed your train of annoyed thoughts, and you looked over your shoulder at him, having been filling a large garbage bag with cans, plastic cups, used tissues and other such waste.
"Yes, why ask?", your tone came off as a little hostile, but Ghetsis paid it no mind.
"Curiosity. It's truly an unlucky occurrence you've found yourself in, I notice. May I assume you're an important member of the staff?", he flashed you a smile which you internally groaned at.
"You could say so", you growled under your breath, a creeping feeling of humiliation tickling your cheeks as they grew red in embarrassment.
"Would you care to have coffee with me afterwards? I'll notify my people to retire for the day, so I won't be in a hurry."
"I apologize, it's your reaction that brought me much amusement! A hard worker deserves some peace after a job well done, and I wouldn't want to abandon you."
You blinked at him, eyebrows furrowing in disbelief. Was he about to chat you up on some nonsense like he does with everyone else?
Surprisingly, the man let out a heartfelt laugh.
"Excuse me, not meaning to be rude, but why even pay attention to me at all?", you asked, having grabbed a mop to begin wiping footprints and stains of various beverages off the initially bright tiles.
"And why not? Shouldn't I have expressed interest in you? Did it come off as unpleasant or intrusive? If so, I'll withdraw and leave you to your own devices", he brought his hand up as a means of promise.
You sighed quietly and shook your head.
"No, it's alright. I was just bewildered, is all. I wouldn't have ever expected Ghetsis Harmonia to talk to me directly and personally like this."
"Pay it no mind. I'm just a person after all", he chuckled.
"Be it, then. I'll go brew us coffee, will be right back."
On your way you were wondering why you've even agreed to that. You felt him stare at you as you were exiting the office, which made you shiver afterwards. Surely, he had an ulterior motive. Was it in his nature to casually converse with regular people?
His redundant grinning was undeniably charming, as much as you were consciously trying to avoid discerning it. You acknowledged the likeliness of villainous intent. Nevertheless, you haven't been given adequate attention for quite some time, the realization of which made you press the back of your hand against your mouth, both in annoyance and silenced anticipation of what's to happen next.
Your wrists were trembling more than usual while carrying the coffee cups. To emphasize your anxiety or even fear, it was becoming increasingly tougher to swallow, your eyes darting from your feet to the corner you were supposed to turn in order to face the man once again.
To make matters worse, the moment you did, his stinging look fixated on you immediately, corners of his lips curling up in an inviting, mysterious, yet sly expression. His gloved hand had been slowly tracing circles on the table's surface up until then, after which his finger ended up sheepishly twirling a strand of his let down hair. He never broke eye contact.
"Here you go", you muttered, more as a formality, before sitting down on an empty seat next to him. You'd considered making the distance between the two of you wider for safety and comfort, but it really would've looked rude, so you gritted your teeth and abode your manners.
"Much appreciated", his soft snicker stroked your ears in a satisfying way. You had to gently bite the tip of your tongue in order to maintain a straight face.
"Not a problem at all."
It was embarrassing. He had never managed to make such an unwanted impression on you before. Of course, those weren't personal, real life encounters, though either way, was it possible to make that big of a difference? Always so extravagantly clothed, same as his followers, suggesting some kind of grotesque dress code. Even at that moment he was more or less a manifestation of a dark fantasy prince character, with a black cape draped over his right side, a matching eye patch and a contrasting pale complexion. Surely, one glance at him suggested that he possessed a twisted mind, but wouldn't it just be easier and kinder to trust his momentary selfless support and recognition of your tiredness and solitude?
"May I question the reason you're looking at me for so long, dear? Am I that worthy of your admiration?"
His words snapped you out of your thoughts, having you immediately avert your gaze, ending in a self directed eye roll.
"Didn't mean to", you replied in a dull tone, earning you an ardent laugh.
"You're simply delightful."
"What?"
Ghetsis shrugged, accepting your decision to reject the implied flirtatious compliment. He licked his lips, teeth just barely grazing them before speaking:
"And what would your name be?"
He had taken only half a step back, still fully intending to win you over as fast as possible, being aware of how little time he has in play. That thought crossed your mind, but it wouldn't linger.
"(Y/N). I didn't even realize I hadn't told you earlier."
"(Y/N)…" he hummed.
You shivered at the careful pronunciation, the way he was tasting the sound of it didn't bother you in the slightest.
He cleverly gave up on compliments, sensing they would repel you further. And you, you weren't stupid. He noticed your suspicion and cautiousness right away. To him it felt like he was trying to crack a code of sorts, a combination of words, phrases and gestures that would grant him that satisfying click in the end.
Forget about the men in suits who firmly believe they would finally get the key to power and wealth from him; you didn't have a goal like that in mind. He himself is supposed to give you a reason to stick around, make up a desire of yours from scratch. That's what made that game so fun.
Did he dare test his luck after all?
He put his hand over yours, completely ignoring the coffee in front of him, deeming it just a prop to accentuate his innocent, vulnerable visage. He had prepared a myriad of lies to recite to you, to hypnotize and entice you, ready to see where that would take you eventually.
"Do say more about yourself then. I'm itching to get to know you."
"Oh, is that so?", you chuckled, distracted by his touch, "I suppose I could, now that you've asked."
He caressed your fingers contently, almost as he would a cat. Another amiable grin spread across his handsome face, which you this time returned.
Now, he could only sit back and watch in anticipation, waiting for the exhilarating moment when you'd desperately start struggling.
So you better not disappoint.

summary: Kita x F!Reader. the leaves are falling. so is he
word count: 983
cw: kita and reader are both werewolves in a werewolf town. this comes into play surprisingly little. mostly it's just light angst to fluff with a lil bit of a seasonal vibe. i recommend reading full moon town and half truths and half lies for a little worldbuilding beforehand, but it's not necessary
a/n: true to form, happy halloween a day late!!! obviously i returned with an ode to kita's hair because... duh. it looks so soft i want him </3
“Word on the street is that you’re hiding,” Osamu says from the ground. He was always the best at hide-and-go-seek, ‘cause he could climb higher than everyone else without making a noise, so you know he’s only letting you shelter among the leaves out of respect.
“Maybe,” you say bitterly. “Maybe the street needs to shut up.”
“Probably,” he grins up at you. “The street is Suna, so...”
“Definitely.”
You share a moment of warm, knowing silence, the air thick with the scent of the forest in autumn.
“Kita is worried about you.”
Osamu breaks the silence and you hug the tree’s trunk tighter, prodding the branch below you with one foot.
“Kita,” you frown, “can go chase a car right into oncomin’ traffic.”
“Well, that’s,” Osamu pauses, guilt flashing in his eyes. "I always thought you kinda liked him."
You take a deep breath.
"That doesn't mean I want his grandmother telling him I'm fucking marriage material just 'cause I'm the last girl-next-door available, 'Samu. That kinda thing doesn't really make me feel like he actually has any interest, you know? I mean, the whole town is talking like it's a done deal, and he doesn't... he only... he doesn't really want me. He's just doing what he thinks he's supposed to."
“I don’t know about that, but you can, uh, take it up with him.” Osamu steps back, and you catch a whiff of some bullshit.
“Miya,” you growl, “what did you do?” He winces apologetically at you, the traitorous bastard, and dashes away, melting into the foliage. You drop from the tree, stumbling on your feet as you land.
“Whoa,” Kita Shinsuke says, putting a steadying hand on your elbow. You bat him away and shove your hands into your pockets, pressing your lips together as you take him in. There's a primal urge in you to run—you're faster than he is, you could just run and run and run forever until everything blurred around you and you didn't have to worry about all this stupid mundane stuff—but you'll have to come home eventually. That's the problem, at the end of the day. Kita is home. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong," you bite your lip, glancing away from him. Embarrassingly, your face is hot, your eyes already wet, making the lie coming out of your mouth all the more obvious.
Kita steps forward, hands hovering over your arms, like he's afraid to touch you, saying your name softly.
"Don't," you choke out. "It's nothing, seriously."
"It's not," he says immediately. "Please. I'm sorry."
"What are you apologizing for?" You laugh, hiding your face in your hands. "You don't even—"
"It's 'cause of me," he says, and when you look through your fingers, his head is bowed, eyes focused on you with his signature intensity, shiny eyes mirroring yours. "I never meant to make you uncomfortable, I promise, I didn't know it was so... unwanted."
"It wasn't that, it was... It was your granny's idea, yeah?"
"Sure," he says earnestly, and you shake your head.
"Kita, I want to," you start, and he perks up, only to deflate again at your next words. "But I can't just accept the idea of being your partner 'cause your granny thinks I'd be a good head of the pack with you someday. Or because everyone else is going out and dating vampires and all that, and pack politics make you feel like you need to keep things traditional. It's not that it's unwanted, it's that it's everything I want, really. But I can't believe that you want it for the same reasons I do."
"Everythin'?" Kita echoes after you finish, and you grimace, curling your fingers in your pockets, wishing you'd chosen different, stronger words. You shrug, looking at his shoes. "Why can't you believe me?"
You look up, squinting, searching his face. "You've never shown interest before this. I thought I'd spend my whole life waiting."
"I didn't think I needed to," he shrugs. "I didn't know what love was. I can be slow. I needed it spelled out for me. But I know now, Y/N, and please don't think it's for any'a the shit you said about being traditional." Kita rarely swears, and hearing it from his mouth, watching his features scrunch momentarily as the words spill out, makes you laugh. "Shit," he says again, and you laugh harder.
You crouch slightly, looking up at him, and there's a flush over his face but his lips are turned upward, each inch of him thrown into high definition by the golden light coming through the trees. He's got threadbare sneakers on, proof he just threw on whatever he had to chase after you, and for once his carefully combed hair is a wreck, multicolored strands laying across his forehead in all directions, distressed by his fingers carding through them.
"See," Kita says, and takes one of your hands in his, rubbing it absentmindedly with both of his to warm you up. "It's 'cause of this. I just—I like your laugh." He looks away from you, equal parts embarrassed and pleased at the way your mouth drops into a small oh.
"Fine," you use your clasped hands as leverage to pull yourself up, push yourself closer to him. Words fail you—how could you summon anything more eloquent than I like your laugh—so you tilt your head, bump your nose into his, press your foreheads together. His breath is warm as he exhales evenly, and you thread a hand into the short strands on the back of his head, hold him close to you. "Let's go home, Shinsuke."
You stay close, pressed into his solid body as you walk, very nearly cheek to cheek. He stops you just before you leave the shelter of the trees, dropping his head to your shoulder, taking a deep, shuddering breath.
Someday he'll make you realize it. He is already home.

since i got a bunch of asks about it, here's my opinions/reaction to snc's new video with kris and celina
so… i guess the main question i gotta answer is did i hate the video? i've let my opinion of snc's content with kris and celina be known in the past so i know a lot of you are curious. the answer is… no, i didn't hate it. did i love it? also no lol
let me try to explain the things i didn't love about this video:
first, i think one problem i had was that they almost turned this into a murder mystery party/game and that in itself felt a little tactless. they've done it before and i didn't love it then, but with these four individuals, things are usually never taken seriously and i felt like at times they were more playing a game rather than investigating. not to mention, yall don't know/have all the information. things have been lost to time, you don't have the actual evidence. you're already "playing" with one hand tied behind your back. maybe instead of trying to solve a murder, you just… investigate and talk to whoever is there and wants to talk. rob was there trying to tell his story, and yall called him a loud mouth for talking over the other spirits. that's a little rude lol
and then i think my major issue with the video is that… i just can't vibe with celina's abilities. do i believe they're real? yes. i don't think she's coming up with shit out of thin air and claiming to be right or psychic. i definitely think she experiences something and believes what she sees in her mind. my issue is that snc hear her take, and run with it the entire video. and even when the spirits are saying no to her theory, or snc are being pulled away from what she told them, they still wait and hold out until something says that yes she's right. and i just feel like, she's not a psychic, i don't get why you take her word at face value and believe it to be reality to the very end. especially when at multiple points the spirits were disagreeing with her.
is it possible she's right? yeah it very well could be true. but i just think it made the video a lot less entertaining when you focused on her theory the entire time instead of just talking to whoever was there and letting them say their peace.
i think the card game that they did was kinda cool, but if sam is right, they should have ended the game immediately since they pulled a spade card, and that meant no.
i think the most compelling evidence they got was during the estes method and in that one room with the mirror. those two spots were really cool. the evidence they caught in there was interesting. i think the ring of lights was intriguing, but they should have had a camera on the ground to show them when they would light up since we basically missed every time they did since sam was pointing the camera at kris, celina, and colby.
also i know snc didn't come up with the name, but the hairy man as a demon/monster thing? fucking hysterical. also the clip from the other guy's video just looks like a person that was hiding out in the trees so… maybe be a bit more concerned about that not it being a demon.
overall i think the video was fine. not my favorite, but also not a video i hate. would i rewatch it? possibly. i'd give it like a 6.5/10

To be fair name a gossip blog whose gonna be right even 80% of the time. That’s the nature of gossip. A bunch of half truths and never the full story just snippets of it. Even you have not been right plenty of times. Even after vetting your sources and providing disclaimers. You’ve gotten things right and you’ve gotten things wrong. Same as enty, same as deuxmoi.
yes but i don't provide info in the same misleading way that deux does. i TRY to share only accurate info. and tbh idk what vetted tea i've shared that has been proven incorrect? the only thing i can think of is when i said yes the ice spice remix exists (which was correct) BUT i was sort of led to believe taylor didn't want to release it so i shared that as well. that was obviously partially incorrect since she did release it. (tho i could still be convinced taylor had misgivings ab the situation and that's what my source heard. it just all got lost a little in translation and i mistranslated it even more to the blog.)
other than that- theories i've come up with have been wrong plenty, and hunches i've had have been wrong plenty, but vetted tea i've shared has either been confirmed as correct such as that olivia was releasing new music and when, sabrina opening for taylor on international eras tour (shared this before the international tour was even announced), explicit details about taylor's music videos before they were out, (here's another one) and when taylor was announcing speak now. those are some of my best hits anyway. other tea i've shared can't really be verified unless taylor does something like comes out and says "yes i fucked lily, yes i fucked julianne hough, yes i never dated john mayer" which really isn't going to happen but it hasn't been proven *wrong* it's just unconfirmed and will likely remain that way.
i could be wrong here but i can't think of a time when i shared vetted info and it was debunked. usually when i share something as vetted tea from one of my verified insiders it either comes true or it simply remains unknown if it's true or not but i can't think of something i've shared from an insider that was 100% debunked. idk y'all pls do correct me if i'm wrong.
listen if you wanna stan deux stan deux i just don't take her seriously. we discuss her blinds sometimes because you guys always want to. i'd be happy to never talk ab her cause i just don't find her information useful. but ofc y'all like discussing her stuff so i'm not gonna completely shut it down. it can at least provide a good jumping off point for us to have a discussion about.
but i'm of course going to protest if you say we share information the same way because we clearly don't.

Let's talk about Will's playlist... just for fun!
same as with Mike's playlist the songs are born from a different context than the show, so these don't have always a perfect correspondence with the things happening in it.
This is all only my own interpretation and it's just speculation about what I think these songs could mean... the playlists were created with Netflix before the release of s2 but I believe they already knew a lot about the storylines of the other seasons and did some foreshadowing
» Songs about surviving the Upside Down / Vecna and Will defeating him
Beat the devil's tattoo - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
I thread the needle through
You beat the devil's tattoo
Tumblr media
foreshadowing for the season two finale in which Will is using morse code to communicate with the others... kind of drumming on a hard surface with his fingers
I'm still standing - Elton John
You could never know what it's like
Your blood like winter freezes just like ice
And there's a cold lonely light that shines from you
You'll wind up like the wreck you hide behind that mask you use
And did you think this fool could never win?
Well, look at me, I'm a-coming back again
I got a taste of love in a simple way
And if you need to know
while I'm still standing you just fade away
Don't you know I'm still standing better than I ever did?
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
And I'm still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind
Afraid - The Neighbourhood
When I wake up, I'm afraid somebody else might end up being me
Keep on dreaming, don't stop breathing, fight those demons, sell your soul, not your whole self
Oh, if they see it when you're sleeping, make them leave it
And I can't even see if there's hope there anymore, so
You're too mean, I don't like you
Fuck you, anyway
You make me wanna scream at the top of my lungs It hurts but, I won't fight you
Will is talking about Vecna and him possessing his body
Hold on - Alabama Shakes
Bless my heart, bless my soul.
Didn't think I'd make it to 22 years old.
There must be someone up above sayin',
"Come on, Brittany, you got to come on up.
You got to hold on
Every breath you take - The Police
Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you.
Vecna is watching Will in s2 ready to take over and use him for his plans
Under Cover of Darkness - The Strokes
I'll wait for you
Will you wait for me too?
And they sacrifice their lives
And they're lying about those odds
This song makes me think about a battle
Upside Down & Inside out - OK Go
Inside down and upside out and you can feel it
Don't stop, can't stop, it's like an airplane going down
I wish I had said the things you thought that I had said
Gravity's just a habit that you're pretty sure you can break
So when you met the new you
Were you scared, were you cold, were you kind?
Yeah when you met the new you, did someone die inside?
foreshadowing Will being possessed by the Mindflayer
Sympathy for the devil - Rolling stones
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint
At this point I think this partly Vecna's playlist too... no, seriously 💀
Stayin alive - Bee gees
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Icky Thump - The White Stripes
Icky thump, handcuffed to a bunk
Robbed blind
Looked around
And there was nobody else
I won't back down - Tom Petty
Well, I won't back down
No I won't back down
You could stand me up at the gates of Hell
But I won't back down
No I'll stand my ground
Won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Slug song - The Clean
I said don't
Don't ever change
And misarrange your mind
Run for cover - The Killers
Run for cover
Run while you can, baby, don't look back
You gotta run for cover
Don't be afraid of the fear, that's a played out trap, man
You know you're not the only one
And don't look back, just run for cover
Will hiding from the Mindflayer
Out of breath - Frank Turner
When you meet death
Be out of breath
And say you're pleased to see him
In fact you're waiting for this meeting
And well frankly his timekeeping leaves a lot to be desired
So tell that hooded huckster that he's fired
Cold Cold Cold - Cage the Elephant
Doctor, look into my eyes
I've been breathing air, but there's no sign of life
Doctor, the problem's in my chest
My heart feels cold as ice, but it's anybody's guess
Doctor, can you help me? 'Cause I don't feel right
Better make it fast before I change my mind
Doctor, can you help me? 'Cause I don't feel right
Better make it fast before I change my mind
Another one bites the dust - Queen
There are plenty of ways that you can hurt a man
And bring him to the ground
You can beat him, you can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him when he's down, yeah
But I'm ready, yes, I'm ready for you
I'm standing on my own two feet
Drawing board - George Erza
The meaning of this song is about someone trying to kill someone else so I think it fits better as a Vecna song than a love one lmao
Carry on my wayward son - Kansas
Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
Ziggy Stardust - David Bowie
this song is about a narcissistic guy that was in the band and was "special" until he ruined himself because of his big ego... I think it could fit with Vecna and if they knew about Henry since the start they knew that the Mindflayer was a narcissistic serial killer type
Come a little closer - Cage the elephant
Time shakes, found you at the water
At first you were my father
Now I love you like a brother
Earthquakes shake the dust behind you
This world, at times will blind you
Still, I know I'll see you there
Come a little closer, then you'll see
Things aren't always what they seem to be
(Don’t Fear) The Reaper - Blue Öyster Cult
This song is about accepting that death is natural and welcoming it, it makes me think about the fact that Will was ready to sacrifice himself and wanted to close the gate in season two
Blinded by the Light - Manfred Mann's Earth Band
Tumblr media Tumblr media
» Songs about Will feeling different / not conforming
Walk on the wild side - Lou Reed
Holly came from Miami, F.L.A.
Hitch-hiked her way across the U.S.A.
Plucked her eyebrows on the way
Shaved her legs and then he was a she
She says, "Hey, babe,
Take a walk on the wild side."
Radio, Radio - Elvis Costello & The Attractions
I wanna bite the hand that feeds me.
I wanna bite that hand so badly.
I want to make them wish they'd never seen me.
Afraid of everyone - The National
I'm afraid of everyone, I'm afraid of everyone
Lay the young blue bodies with the old red bodies
I'm afraid of everyone, I'm afraid of everyone
With my kid on my shoulders I try
Not to hurt anybody I like
My generation - The Who
People try to put us down
Just because we get around
Things they do look awful cold
Yeah, I hope I die before I get old
Don't stop believin' - Journey
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlights people
Livin' just to find emotion
Hidin' somewhere in the night
Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Another brick in the wall - Pink Floyd
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
Creature comfort - Arcade Fire
Some boys hate themselves
Spend their lives resenting their fathers
...
We're the bones under your feet
The white lie of American prosperity
We wanna dance but we can't feel the beat
I'm a liar, don't doubt my sincerity
Just make it painless
Free Fallin - Tom Petty
Now all the vampires walkin' through the valley
Move west down Ventura boulevard
And all the bad boys are standing in the shadows
And the good girls are home with broken hearts
Now I'm free
Breathe (in the air) - Pink Floyd
Breathe, breathe in the air
Don't be afraid to care
Leave but don't leave me
Look around and choose your own ground
» Songs about Will being in love with Mike:
Should I stay or should I go? - The Clash
Darlin' you got to let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
If you say that you are mine
I'll be here 'til the end of time
So you got to let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
I can't hear you - The Dead Weather
I'm gonna teach you
And keep you for myself
I'm gonna take you by the hand
I'm gonna walk you to my house
So I can hear you
Stuck in the middle with you - Stealers Wheel
Yes, I'm stuck in the middle with you
And I'm wondering what it is I should do
It's so hard to keep this smile from my face
Losing control, yeah, I'm all over the place
Don’t you forget about me - Simple Minds
Tell me your troubles and doubts
Giving everything inside and out and
Love's strange, so real in the dark
Think of the tender things that we were working on
Slow change may pull us apart
When the light gets into your heart, baby
Don't you, forget about me
Searching the blue - The Arcs
War is over now
I feel my mind returning
Carried on a cloud
Every nerve was burning over you
I never had a need at all for anyone
Anyone other than you
But now that's through
Sold fool
We're prayin' to get it fast
And we pray it's in the past
Is anything we do, ever gonna last?
Couldn't I have a clue?
Searchin' the blue
Under pressure - Queen & David Bowie
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends screaming
"Let me out!"
Tomorrow gets me higher, higher, high!
Pressure on people, people on streets
Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence, but it don't work
Keep coming up with love, but it's so slashed and torn
Why, why, why!?
Love, love, love, love, love
Insanity laughs under pressure
We're breaking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can't we give love that one more chance?
Livin' on a prayer - Bon Jovi
We've gotta hold on to what we've got
It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not
We've got each other and that's a lot
For love we'll give it a shot
Start me up - The Rolling Stones
If you start me up
If you start me up I'll never stop
This song continues in a series of sexual innuendos so I guess it could be about puberty in the context of the show
Dark Days - Local Natives
Dark days in the summer
In the rain the water's fine
It was wild combination
Either that or right down the line
Foreshadowing the season 3 fight?
Howlin for you - The Black Keys
I must admit
I can't explain
Any of these thoughts racing
Through my brain
It's true
Baby I'm howlin' for you
Echo home - The Kills
And it's a long long long long drop
From the rocks to the pearls, we got so lost
We got so lost, we got so lost
For so long, for so long, so long
For so long, oh
Maybe you went out of your mind
You can lose it all if you wanna
Maybe you went out of mine
It's been so long
You can live your own dear life
And you can lose it all if you wanna
But I can't let you out of mine
It's Up To You Now - The Black keys
You wanted to love, but you didn't know how
That's okay, it's up to you now
It got so bad to where I wouldn't allow
But no more, it's up to you now
Let you go so you could go...
Go to town
It's up to you now
This song is about a divorce, the singer let go of his former lover that changed for the worst and lost their friends after the divorce... makes me think about s3 Mike
How you like me now - The Heavy
Now there was a time
When you loved me so
I couldn't do wrong
...
Remember the time when I eat you up
Yeah I was a lie that you can't give up.
If I was to cheat
Oh no, would you see right through me?
If I sing a sad sad sad sad song
Would you give it to me? Would you?
So how you like me now?
Does that make you love me baby?
Will Byers in his petty era... Mike WAKE THE FUCK UP
Blue veins - The raconteurs
And I know you won't deceive me
Like the rest
and there's nothing you need to explain
You always were the first one to believe me
When I said to you girl, I think it's gonna rain
But I could be wrong
Yeah, but all of these things
All these things
They're all truly nice but ain't nothing
Ain't nothing compared to the love
That's running through your little blue veins
Gooey - Glass animals
Tumblr media
Heroes - David Bowie
Breakdown - Tom Petty
It's alright if you love me
It's alright if you don't
I'm not afraid of you running away
Honey, I get the feeling, you won't
There is no sense in pretending
Your eyes give you away
Something inside you is feeling like I do
We've said all there is to say
Just What I Needed - The Cars
I don't mind you comin' here
And wastin' all my time
'Cause when you're standin' oh so near
I kinda lose my mind

Hello there 👋🏽 I literally just found out about you on twitter; someone said they read your blog with their morning coffee like a daily newspaper and of course I had to rush over 😆😆 Plus your name alone got me super curious. So I've been scrolling your feed for a long while now and I do see where you're coming from. 💯 Until they tell us themselves we don't really know dick. That part is true. And I know u understand where we who believe they're indeed together, why we feel that way. But after seeing where u stand I have a question. GCFs and RB aside what about the things we do see? Like when they secretly held hands behind Suga. Twice? (Summer package & dynamite behind the scenes thing) and what about both BV footsies where one wasn't innocent @ all? Don't moments like this make you go 🤨🧐 i ask because one can be in doubt and then Jikook go and pull some shit and you're just like-
Tumblr media
I'm still going through your blog 2 understand u better but I was curious about what u thought about moments like these that if it was, say a male and female there would be no doubt that they're an item or boning @ the very least. Thanks 4 your time! 😜
I was wondering why I came back to a surge of followers. Who do I need to thank?
Tumblr media
I think what's funny is that I'm not a stranger to this. I know people have talked about me on Twitter and Discord, and most of those people are just talking shit, so it's a bit unsettling when someone random is building me up. I'm thankful, but it's honestly a bit more nerve-wracking than if people didn't take me seriously (as it should be, let's be real).
But to answer your question, those moments in particular are ones that I don't think about that often–or at all, really, unless they're brought up. Sure, they're interesting because those scenarios invite detective work, even though no one can really confirm anything is happening.
The alleged hand-holding on the couch is one I'll entertain, but only because I like the idea of it. Do I think it's actually happening? Yes and no, I can see both sides.
BTS members are hilariously synchronized in their movements, but admittedly something shifty was happening in that moment. I still wouldn't say I'm confident enough to confirm either scenario, so it's much easier to let it play out and move on to a Jikook moment that I'd consider more noteworthy.
In general, one of the things all shippers appear to have in common is interpreting things in a 2D space instead of a 3D one. There have been numerous times where shippers assume one person of their ship is looking at the other, but if you were to actually watch a wider or different angle, they're looking at something beyond our line of sight. When things look unclear or are obscured too much to conclude anything special, I lose interest in it quickly. Shipping is really an imperfect practice, so by and large, I tend to be selective about the Jikook moments I focus on.
I should also add that being male or female has very little to do with how I interpret things. A lot of shippers like to use that as an argument: "If it was a boy and girl, you'd think something was going on!" No. In fact, that argument plays into social ignorance as much as those who refuse to acknowledge that attraction looks the same between cishet and queer couples. Just because two people are friends or are close doesn't automatically mean anything intimate is going on between them. It's a common gripe that people have and lends into this stupid notion that boys and girls can't be friends, which is false. I would never assume two people off the street, regardless of gender, are anything unless they're giving each the other a tongue kissing of their life–and even then who's to say they're dating? The same can be said about Jikook or any of the other ships. I'm invested enough to want to play with their narrative, but none of this is supposed to be taken seriously (unless there comes a day where there is something between them to be serious about).

Episode 1.4 Aliens of London
so no one cares but I started watching breaking bad today. I have never seen it so this is my first exposure. it's really damn good so far.
ANYWAYS I remember really liking this episode! Let's go!
Nine just cheesing when Rose is walking off to see her mum.
Also the music starts off so sentimental to just distort and waver down when the 'missing' poster is in shot
And the PANIK in Nines face when he sees the poster.
Also love the face when he says "not 12 hours, it's 12 months. Sorry.' like whoopsie!
BAD WOLF MENTIONED (Like BIG TIME ITS THERE ON THE TARDIS)
Jackie is such a mom. That is a compliment. She's written so believably, like yeah, my mom would go off on me like that too. Holy shit.
And poor Nine. He's just standing there. Soooo awkward. He really just can't do domestics.
The utter offense Rose and Nine get when the officer asks if what's between them is a sexual thing. Not yet dude, they're still figuring things out.
"How old are you then? 40? 45?" Nines face like nope, not even
"STITCH THIS MATE" we stan Jackie Tyler in this house.
Rose's face during this whole thing...she's been here before. Absolutely.
Any scene with Rose and Jackie hits me hard because it reminds me of me and my mom. I'm an only child, just like Rose. I'm my moms baby. At one point, it was just me and her. And honestly I could see my mom acting just like Jackie does in this situation.
"I don't do families." Sure, Jan.
Remember when I said Nine and Rose can't stay mad at each other? Stays true in this interaction. Rose goes from saying "You're so useless..." to Nine to laughing at his jokes.
"Your face!" "It hurts!" "You're so gay!" Just, them. Being them. I love them.
Of course the spaceship hits Big Ben. This is Doctor Who after all.
FANTASTIC
"I'm so glad we got you." 🙄
Another scene that puts Nine waaaaay out of his element. Back at the Tyler's flat with all their friends. He just looks so uncomfortable.
and where's he's wrestling the remote away from the little boy pffft
HARRIET JONES THERE SHE IS
Yes the fart jokes are terrible but I'm also a child and I think they're great and the fact that they actually give a reason for why it happens is pretty great and makes it even funnier
tbh I'd take fart jokes over awkwardly written innuendo any day
"It's just a bit human in there for me." He doesn't even sound disgusted when he speaks, more unnerved? Stressed? Aww.
And the utter JOY he has over the human race actually evolving and changing is wonderful! the fact that he doesn't want to interfere because he wants it to happen naturally!
"TARDIS key." more like "We're moving in together. My home is now your home." Everytime it happens, it's wonderful.
Rose looks all giddy with the key in her hand. 🥹
ELLO E.T
"DOCTAAAAAAAH-!" *CRASH!*
"Damn, you've seen through my cunning plan." The fucking delivery of this line xD
NINE SHUSHING THE SCREWDRIVER. it's such a small scene but I freaking love it
Then walking in on the soliders and smiling at their pointed guns. sirrrrrr
BUT THEN FOLLOW HIM WHEN HE SOUNDS LIKE HE KNOWS WHAT HES TALKING ABOUT
The genuine hurt when they shoot the pig alien. God I love nine. 🥺
"I'm shaking my BOOTY." It's so cheesy and stupid I love it
Seriously, The Slitheen are great. Goofy mother fuckers but when it comes down to brass tacks they are ruthless and terrifying. Those are the best kind of DW baddies.
Honestly, Mickey is justified in how he feels. Accused over and over of killing your girlfriend.
"He's not my boyfriend, Mickey! He's better than that. He's much more important." Yeah I'm completely normal about this line.
"Ricky"
"Think you know your own name, how stupid are you?" NINE CHILL
He's honestly such a twit to Mickey but it's too funny I'm sorry
God you can just see the cracks in Mickey and Rose's relationship. And they weren't caused by the Doctor. They were always there. :(
"I had a wife, mistress and a young farmer." "God I was busy." Jesus Christ.
eeeeyyyy it's UNIT.
"Take me to your leader!"
And then the car ride banter. And him waving at the press!! Sir I just love you so much
"Lloyd George used to drink me under the table." See this is funny because the Doctor really doesn't drink. At all. Each time they've tasted alcohol it makes them gag.
AND HOW INSISTENT HE IS THAT ROSE STAYS WITH HIM GAAAAAH
Look at Rose being all capable without the Doctor around! Looking around for alien technology with Harriet! She's so amazing I love her
"Excuse me, you mind not farting while I'm saving the world?" Iconic.
Maybe I'm immune to bad CG because this isn't even that terrible?
ngl though these costumes are pretty damn sweet.
Conclusion:
Yeah this episode is still a banger. still a big fan of the Slitheen. not my favorite alien in DW (that would probably be the Ood. I miss the Ood...)
I'll be watching WW3 tomorrow probably. Night!

Opposite...
it is really sad that you could be misled to think that a being is anything decent... Asked to create an unchangeable situation with them and then find that they are the lowest you've ever seen. It feels quite disgusting daily. Every single day I wish that it had never seen me and that there were no ties to it. If there were no ties this... Person, they'd wonder if they really ever met me because I'd have removed it from my life immediately and accepted and allowed the company of a devout catholic man. Looks like a real man with a career, a home, a true conservative stance on life, gender roles and what looks like some class and dignity. Repulsive that we are not trash, but this lowly is the most conniving lying toilet paper ever. These sick ex con's that follow me and seek after to con this TP. He would hide in a cupboard and respond to this sick stalking disgust that is out of the closet... And then can't shake it and it gets disrespectful and plays games with him. He speaks of "black women tatted up, homosexual, criminal record, stalking" and says is trash when he actually risks his (and my) life letting this freak show use him. He lies daily and says his "white" friends won't believe he had anything like this in his life going on, as if embarrassed and trying to pretend decency. It is shocking daily. This fixated wants to prove itself... And will get disrespectful if he will not let it prove itself. It has to compare to me, shadow me. The thrill of pursuing and asking to get near my life is literally All that this homosexual stalker has in life. It is odd, I am approached by men of different cultures with means and this homosexual can only fixate on me and trying to shadow my life. I guess nothing like that approaches it because they see exactly what that is... Weak. That is strange to have a homosexual adversary solicit your relationship and ask to shadow. Having record of it speaking of it's efforts is strange... The whole stalking of me by this freak show band is really remarkable. Fixated females narrating my life and desperate to stick close. What a trash this lowly is. We do not deserve trash. I missed so many opportunities to have us something sturdy and different. It is the saddest and so disgusting to be connected to this freak show and these sick obsessed. And the worst part is this weak is not even my equivalent. Has accomplished nothing but paying for belongings that are not even assigned to him by name. I set aside and maintain my belongings to see what this detriment was going to turn out to be, and he served as a simp for this stalker situation and is detrimental. I look at a liar and a gross daily... Fascinating. They asked me why I wouldn't let them show me how they feel. The Spanish culture is very different, family oriented and some men take being such very seriously. By contrast, this detriment is as unsafe as the lowest and had zero dignity.

is Poughkeepsie Tapes the WORST MOVIE EVER?!?!?!
Probably not. Statistically, there have got to be worse ones.
The Poughkeepsie Tapes is a 2007 found-footage horror film that purports to be a documentary about the Poughkeepsie Tapes, films of torture and murder, and the serial killer behind them. The film alternates between interviews with various officials about the killer's methods and excerpts from the tapes themselves showing his crimes.
And, of course, it's really bad. I'd like my time back for watching it and everyone who told me it was the mOsT diStUrBiNg fiLm eVeR drawn and quartered. It feels as though the rise of TikTok was the best thing that could ever have happened to it; the three or four most iconic "tape" scenes could be removed from the context that makes it impossible to take them seriously, stripped of the audio that exposes the rubbish acting, and shown to millions of gullible fourteen-year-olds who would then be scarred for life.*
man, that acting
I actually remember exactly when I was pulled out of the movie for good: it was the "YOUR NAME IS SLAVE!" scene. Until then, I had been willing to forgive the film its conspicuous cheapness (we can't all be '70s John Carpenter) and rather stilted acting, but this broke any investment I had had. So the killer was young Ted Cruz? How can I possibly take the man seriously?
Not that the killer is the only one bringing it down; most of the other performances are forgettable. The issue is that some lacking acting around the margins would be forgivable, but most of this film is pretty poorly acted, and the killer especially—man. Probably at least partially an issue of direction, but I can't get over his high-schooler hamminess. Actually, this makes a lot of the FBI segments unintentionally read like satire. The writing and performances are awful in such a way that it feels like an entertaining send-up of true crime documentaries, even though they were absolutely trying to play it straight. In isolation, you should absolutely watch them; they're really funny.
About the only exception to this rule is Stacy Chbosky, who plays Cheryl Dempsey, a girl kidnapped and brainwashed by the killer into subservience and loyalty. She gives a great scream-queen performance when being captured, which morphs over the course of the film into something much darker and more depressing. She gives it her all throughout, making the transformation as credible as possible through the poor writing, and as a result is and the end responsible for perhaps the only disturbing (good) scene in this film.
serial killer Mary Sue
Whenever someone asks what a Mary Sue is now, I will direct them to this movie. Well, I won't, because if I did I would look even more like a freak than I do currently, but if I had no self-awareness I would, because this film's killer is the perfect example. He is never caught by police or seriously challenged in any way; he flawlessly executes his crimes and disappears from the house in which the Tapes are found without a trace; he baffles every level of law enforcement and is three steps ahead of them at all times. He is simply unbeatable. The world is not constructed in such a way as to check his power over it.
Actually, when you start looking, you find that almost half the scenes in the film, rather than provide any substantive plot information, serve solely to inflate the killer's mystique. The tapes are set up to be so disturbing that an FBI agent's wife who accidentally watches a few minutes won't touch him for a year. The killer's methods are breathlessly explained by multiple agents to be brilliantly designed to evade capture. Hell, there's even a scene where Ted Bundy is interviewed Silence-of-the-Lambs-style about the killer. This makes the film feel oddly frictionless; it's not a believable, credible story, but a wish-fulfillment sadistic fantasy piece.
the only good scene + some potential
In fairness to Tapes, there is one good scene in it, which I reference in the acting section. It is an interview with Cheryl Dempsey, the abducted and brainwashed girl from the beginning, who was recovered in the raid on the house that also uncovered the tapes. It's a short scene, because she says little, doing a thousand-yard stare into the lens, and the interview quickly goes nowhere. Through whispered tears, she proclaims her love of the killer and her undying loyalty to him. At one point, she brings her arm into frame to scratch her head, which is when we realize that she has only a stump for a left hand. It's cold, desolate, and Chbosky is magnetic in the role.
This scene may contain a twist as well? The voice of the interviewer in the Dempsey segment bears a suspicious resemblance to the voice of the killer. Throughout the film, profilers have explained that the killer is egotistical and will want to remain close to his crimes in some way; thematically, the killer being the documentarian would fit with him being "behind the camera" for his actual crimes. Honestly, my only reservation in declaring this canonical is that if that was what the film wanted to do, I don't have faith in its ability to execute the twist that subtly.
In a way, this scene also frustrated me. It's not just a good scene relative to the rest of Tapes; it is a well-paced, well-acted, strong horror scene in general. It serves as a kind of proof of concept for what the movie could have been if it had been more thoughtfully written and better-acted. What if more of the scenes, instead of sucking the killer's dick with a fifth discussion of how smart he is, had focused on the experience of the victims of his crimes, both firsthand victims and the families? What if more of the actual tapes, had been pre-crime or concerned an actual challenge to the killer, even one he eventually overcomes? Hell, what if the whole thing had been about the horror of Dempsey's abduction and brainwashing? It would have been more focused, made more use of easily the best actor they had, and would feel significantly more grounded than the current serial killer OC fic on show.
some final thoughts + better recs
Poughkeepsie Tapes is not completely without potential, but then, no film is. It's poorly written, poorly acted serial-killer wish fulfillment that mostly fails to touch on any of the elements that make the man's crimes truly disturbing, like the human toll that they take on the victims and their families or the mental disturbances that could lead a person to do these things. The most artistic value it has is as a so-bad-it's-good campy send-up of true crime documentaries, but that effect is unintentional and therefore inconsistent. No, just watch something else.
For "glimpse into my twisted mind" sorts of movies, The House that Jack Built (2018) by Lars von Trier is pretty hard to beat. It is a retrospective by a serial killer on his life, as told to the poet Virgil while he is led through Hell. Very pretentious, and quite a commitment at two and a half hours, but it's elegaic, disturbing, provocative, and delivers on "eloquent, obsessive murderer" very well.
For "mockumentary/found-footage scares", Hell House LLC (2015) is kind of a return to form for American found-footage horror, which after the success of The Blair Witch Project (1999) and Paranormal Activity (2007) has felt a bit out in the wilderness (no pun intended). It's about five friends who rent an abandoned hotel and turn it into a haunted house, but get more than they bargained for when paranormal evil starts to manifest.
* Please understand that here at Moondeath, our official position is generally supportive of scarring children. Having the bed scene from The Exorcist (1973) seared into your retinas when you're nine years old or some equivalent precocious visitation of the sick is a formative experience in any horror fan's life. No, the concern is with the atrocious quality of this film's traumatic ammunition, which could lead impressionable young dilettantes to develop an incurable taste for Disney-themed r/nosleep stories and other crippling maladies besides.

hello! Could i request a villain with lie-detector powers who is fighting a hero and can tell that hero likes them (and they like hero back?)
"I know you like me," the villain said. "I don't know why you insist on lying to yourself, so."
"I'm not lying."
"So tell me." The villain appeared in front of the hero once more, a smile curling one of their corner of their lips. "Tell me that you don't like me. Tell me, in those exact words, that I don't make your heart pound? That you don't look forward to every time you see me?"
The hero glared at them, face-flushed. "I'd rather take you in."
"Liar."
The hero came to a reluctant stop at the sing-song voice. Their teeth gritted.
"I reveal the rotten truth in this golden beacon of a city," the villain said, more seriously, and the hero's insides jolted. They'd expected the usual teasing, not...
The villain was continuing, eyes hard. "I expose the lies told by the politicians, and the police, and your handlers."
"You cause mass panic and undermine-" the hero didn't finish, because the villain would hear the lie, the creeping doubt that maybe the hero no longer believed the good side to be as good as they had once thought.
It was true that the villain did have a habit of causing mass panic, but that wasn't truly the villain's fault. Sure, the villain could be ruthless in their timing for revealing certain truths, but they were only exposing the actions that other people had already taken and tried to hide.
"You know why they're so desperate to get you to knock me out and take me in," the villain said. "Why they're so desperate to never let me talk."
It was true that the prime directive of any hero despatched to take on 'The Lie Detector', as dumb as their name was, was to go for the mouth. Silence words. The head of the Super League said it was the only way to protect oneself from the villain's manipulations, from the poison they would spew like toxic radiation.
The hero had listened one too many times already, they knew that.
"I know you like me," the villain said, and the smile was entirely gone from their face now. "And I know you wouldn't like me if you honestly thought I was as bad as they told you I am. So, stop. Please. Stop. We both know I'm not going to win a physical fight with you. Do you know what they'll do with me when they take me in?"
The hero stared at them, heart pounding.
"It doesn't matter," the hero said, finally. There was a reason that they didn't want to say the truth aloud. "It can't matter."
"One of those was a lie." The villain studied them with equal intensity, scouring their face.
Of course it mattered and, of course, it couldn't.
"Do you know what will happen when you tear this city down?" the hero asked, because they had no doubt the villain would and could succeed in that. "Do you think the new people the league put in charge will be any better? That you'll keep them honest?"
"I can try," the villain said. "The people will rise, once they truly know-"
"You tell the people the truth, to the point that they snap, and the League will slaughter them."
The villain did not accuse them of lying, that time. The villain swallowed, fingers flexing at their sides, tracking the hero's moves in anticipation for a continued attack.
The hero couldn't bring themselves to move, not yet.
"I want to help them," the hero said. "You know that's true."
"I know you're scared."
"I'd be an idiot if I wasn't," the hero snapped. "Aren't you?"
The villain looked down, but the hero still caught the flicker of fear flashing across their face.
"I want to help them," the hero said, again. "And that means I need to be where I am, on the inside. Where I can do some good."
"Good like shutting me up?"
"That," the hero said, gentler, more broken. "Is why I insist on lying to myself. Because what's the alternative?" They took a step closer, looming over the villain, who suddenly seemed so small for a thing that caused such cataclysmic panic in the hero's employers. "Love you and lose you? We both know you've always been the strong one out of the two of us, my super-strength be damned."
"You could fight with me."
"To what end?"
"To take down the League."
"And then the other villains will have nothing stopping them, once the League is gone. The ones that aren't like you. I know you think - I know you think we're all corrupt," the hero said, "and maybe you're right. Some of us are. A lot of us are. But we're still not them."
"You just said the League would slaughter the masses!"
"Only if they felt sufficiently pushed. The villains would do it for fun. For profit."
The League maintained, at least, a shiny surface. Everything could seem fine, coasting along the skin of life. There wasn't blood on the streets. People, for the most part, were happy, right? They were safe. So long as they stayed out of the way, they were safe. The hero knew that system. They could work it. Offer what protection they could. In a world ruled by the villains...well, there would be nothing hold back the people already willing to lie and cheat. The truth wouldn't stop them, it would only set them free of the frail shackles of social acceptability, and the hero couldn't take that risk. They couldn't.
The villain looked at them for a moment, with such abject disappointment that it made the hero's insides shrivel.
The hero took the final step closer, cradling the villain's jaw in their hand. "I'm sorry." They felt ready to cry. "I can't risk everything for the truth. For you. I have too many other people to..." they stopped, again. This time simply because their throat felt too tight to talk.
"I love you," the villain said, and reached up to press a palm to the back of the hero's neck. "But that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. And I can't let you lie to yourself anymore."
The hero felt the device click, and whir, and they slumped to the ground, gasping. Their strength refused to come. Their body didn't want to move.
The villain crouched down, brushing the hair from the hero's eyes. Their face swum in and out of the hero's hazy vision.
"You cling to a system that will bleed you dry," the villain said. "At least the monsters will be honest about it."

Pairing: Diluc x GN! Reader •
Warnings: Major Character Death,,
Notes: Reader is a Knight of Favonius here! c:
Tumblr media
"Diluc, look!" Your cheerfull voice rang across the place, instantly alerting the red-haired winery owner. His head turned towards you, gaze followed your finger that pointed on the huge pool of water. "Such large lake.. so much water!"
Diluc frowned, his eyebrows furrowed. It was barely bigger than the one next to Dawn Winery. What's so special about it?
"I can't believe.. it's such a beautifull place.."
"What's so special about it? It's rather common sight-" Diluc couldn't finish the sentence because of your hand suddenly grabbing onto his wrist. Before pulling him towards the water, all you could offer as apologies was your warm smile. Light reflecting in your eyes, visible happiness that made his heart ache. Beautifull - He thought, before getting hit by the realization what you're about to do.
"Wait-- [Y/N]!-"
"Yahoo!"
SPLASH
Your laugh was muffled by the loud splash of water. While you certainly enjoyed so called 'bath in the lake', Diluc looked more upset than usual. Of course, getting wet wasn't something he found entertaining - by cold water on top of that.
"[Y/N]." His voice cold, tone annoyed. He knew that every member of Knights of Favonius were just as childish as possible, but that outgrew his biggest expectations. During moments like that, he seriously wondered if keeping in contact with you was the best choice. "Do you want to be fish in your next lifetime? Perhaps crab would be more fitting?"
His hand grabbed onto the back of your collar, holding your head right above the water. Your eyes widened as you raised your hands in defense, while explaining. "S-sorry, sorry! That's actually really tempting offer, but I see myself as tiger shrimp in my next lifetime!"
Diluc sighed, letting go of you. He closed his eyes and turned away, ready to get out of the water.
"I love water.." He stopped, hearing your voice. Voice full of emotions, especially longing. "I miss those old days.. my friends and I used to play in the lake all the time.."
The male turned his head towards you. His knees still covered by water as his gaze wandered from your face to your hands with which you collected small amout of water. Your smile never left your face as you stared down at your connected hands, the liquid slowly running down the gaps between your fingers.
"Our parents stood near the shore and laughed.. Water brings back the memories about my friends and family.." Your expression reflected into water surface as you slowly lowered your hands. "Even though it's cold.. I still feel the warmth of those days.."
Why.. those days must have passed away?
"[Y/N]" Your thoughts were interrupted by the voice coming from behind. Diluc already walked back towards you, no more caring about the water. "It's true that times have changed, but only if you ask.."
His hand wandered on top of your head, stroking your hair ever so slightly.
"I can become your family at any moment.. Even though you're one of the knights.. and even though you look stupid."
His hand lowered to your cheek, now cupping it gently. Your surprised expression lasted only mese seconds as after a while, you lowered your head and smiled.
"Thank you.."
Diluc raised his eyebrows as his hand returned on top of your head, fingers grabbing onto your head before he shoved you back down into the water. Surely, he was treating you too well lately. You've made him all wet. Don't think you're not going to suffer the consequences.
"How long do you want to stay in the water? You really want to become a fish, don't you?"
Smile appeared on his face as you desperately tried to push him away.
Warmth, you say?
During your next visit at the Dawn Winery, Diluc welcomed you with open arms. Both of you decided to sit outside the building, sipping on some grape juice while discussing on various topics. Diluc seemed rather calm. Little did he know that your visit wasn't in intention for a simple chit-chat.
"How's the situation at the tavern?" You asked, running the tip of your finger over the glass edge. "Is everything going smoothly?"
"Quite good." Short answer, as usual. Noticing your gaze fixated onto the glass, he clicked his tongue. "There's nothing I'd have to handle on my own."
"That's great.." Was the only answer you gave him. Where was the cheerful voice of yours that brightened his day? Where was your excited expression he remembered, while you talked about what's going to come in the nearest future.
Few moments passed, thus silence began to be rather unbearable. With a sigh, red-haired male decided to be the one to break it.
"What's bothering you?"
His question instantly caught your attention as you lost interest in the glass in front of you. It took quite some courage for you to look up into his eyes.
"You heard about the abyss taking one step closer towards achieving their goal? Our outriders spotted them on the east.. Mages.. Heralds.. Amber told me they intend to eliminate most of our forces by threating to attack citizens and forcing us to--"
"Get to the point."
You broke the eyecontact, surely not being able to look him straight in the eyes while saying: "I've been sent to the front line."
His heartbeat stopped, voice stuck in his throat.
What did you say?
Front line?
"Kaeya decided.. to only send mere part of our forces.. That way we can investigate their strenght from the--"
"I refuse."
Your gaze returned to his face after Diluc raised his voice.
"It's an order I cannot-"
"You're too weak."
Your eyes widened. Did he really think of you so poorly? You've taken care of plenty enemies before, proving your strenght in battle.
"It's my duty to obey Captain Kae--"
"Don't." Diluc glared at you. "Mention that name again."
His brother couldn't even take care of himself during evenings spent in the tavern. What kind of Captain was it? Diluc could bet that his orders are nothing, but decisions under the infuence of the moment.
He won't.. lose another person because instead of taking care of things himself - his so called brother wants to play from afar. He's always been like that.. Sending pawns to battle, while getting his hands on the victory they acquire.
"I want to protect those who cannot defend themselves." Serious tone in your voice. Determination in your eyes as you confidently kept to prove your point. "We can not wait for something terrible to happen.. I swore to protect Mondstadt."
He knew you're not going to listen.
Standing up from the table, your head turned away.
"There's surely a reason for Captain to choose me along with the others.. You know I'm strong, Diluc.."
Strenght goes in pair with Defense.
Defense you were lacking.
"Haah.. Haa.." You panted, looking around the battlefield as the only thing you could see, were your defeated colleagues.
Heavily injured, struggling to keep yourself standing..
Out of pity, smile appeared on your face as tears left the corners of your tired eyes.
Diluc was right..
Falling to your knees, as your legs no more could bear the weight of your body.
"I'm sorry.. Diluc..."
-
"Master Diluc..! Everyone is worried.." One of the maids called after the male. "It's pouring yet another day.. You'll get sick if you keep--"
Other maid interrupted, placing a hand on her shoulder. She smiled at the other sadly, shaking her head before glancing as Diluc disappeared into the forest.
He went to the place you found beautiful.
Diluc sat near the water, letting the raindrops freely wash over his head, back and shoulders. Staring down at his reflection in the surface, he scooped up some water and smiled bitterly.
"I don't understand why do you love it so much.. It's wet and disgusting.."
Clenching his teeth, Diluc tried his best to stop tears from leaving his slightly reddened eyes.
"You brat.. I don't feel any warmth..
It's so cold.."
