There was a man

Sometimes after a long day, all one needs is a nice drag of a cigarette and the city breeze from the rooftop. I look forward to it. I haven't really lately though, something in me told me today was going to be the day.

I was fired from my job, I didn't like the company anyways. It wasn't for me. Though as I climb the dreadful 7 flights of stairs to my overly priced apartment rooftop, it starts to weigh on me abit more with each step.

By the 45th step there are tears rolling down my face. I don't care about the job anymore, I just feel like a failure. I just feel like a stupid failure who can't even keep a minimum wage job.

Whatever..it doesn't really matter anymore now does it.

I take my time up the steps but even then I'm out of breathe. You'd think they would get me into shape but I guess not. Yet another thing I have to stress about, great.

I didn't realize I wasn't alone when I first walked up here, it took till I was looking for the edge to see the man dangling his legs over the ledge. He swung his legs back and fourth like it wasn't dangerous.

Lighting my cigarette, I watch him dangerously close. Without hesitation he speaks to me.

"Sometimes it's okay to let go you know."

His sentence puzzles me yet it makes me turn and take a few steps across the rooftop over to where he is sitting.

"Theres a chance we'll never be the same one day, maybe todays that day."

He smiles at me and looks up at the sky, and like an idiot I do the same almost expecting to see stars, as if I could see them through the smog of the city.

"Let go of what troubles you."

I look back at him, and yet there is no one, and there I am sitting on the ledge.

"Let go."

THOMAS HORROR DRAMA STORY

It was time to go to the supermarket. Thomas loathed going there with all his heart. He didn’t want to meet familiar people. He was chubby and was ashamed of himself. During his school years, he had been a typical object of humiliation. Unfortunately, now, when he was a grown up, nothing really had changed. Maybe people weren’t humiliating him physically but talked and mumbled behind his back without hesitation. In truth, this often didn’t even happen behind his back. The most impudent ones freely ridiculed him right in his face. That was the reason why Thomas didn’t like supermarket so much. There he could only become a subject of humiliation.

Thomas carefully looked behind the corner. The rice and buckwheat aisle was empty. He pushed the shopping cart forward. Thomas quickly loaded products into it. HURTLEPOOL BOOGEYMAN

Hurtlepool is the most ordinary small town one can imagine. Its cute, little houses stand in neat lines and sun shines above the red roofs. Of course, it would be stupid to say that nothing bad ever happened here, but these weren’t major things. All in all this town is peaceful, so peaceful that it could adorn postcards in order to evoke thoughts about paradise. However, every little town has its secrets, and Hurtlepool isn’t an exception.

You know there are these crazy stories kids come up with. Boogeymans visiting them at night, standing in dark corners and watching them. If you’re not careful enough boogeyman can take you away, and you’ll never come back. Pretty basic stuff actually, but it’s a little bit different here in Hurtlepool.

Hurtlepool also has a similar urban legend about something disturbing peoples peace at night. The only difference is that it can happen to anyone, not only kids. It makes it somehow more creepy, more believable. Continue reading...
