Which translation/adaptation of JTTW is best for beginners? Besides maybe Dragon Ball (doubt it counts)

Heh yeah I mean it’s a great anime but I don’t think you would have a good Xiyouji experience per se. Usually, I see Dragon Ball used as a gateway for people to THEN read/watch Xiyouji content but like it doesn’t really have much Xiyouji plot wise even if the characters are homages.

I would say that if you want an ACCURATE Xiyouji experience then you can choose between three shows. That being the classic 1986 which is many people's first Xiyouji experience as the cast is so iconic you see these designs in dozens of movies and their influence in future performances. The second is more family-friendly but still one of the most charming and fairly accurate portrayals is the 1999 Xiyouji animation, I would say far more younger people's first piece of media and without a doubt the best Xiyouji animation series thus far personally. That last I would suggest is 2011 Xiyouji series which is one of the more newer shows and I would say I would that if you want more modern effects and humor than this might be a preferance to the 1986 version. They both have their own charm but just depends on what you are looking for!

Now while these are the most accurate there are some Xiyouji media I would still recommend even if they take far more liberties.

This without a doubt being the 1996 tv series. This is portrayed as more of a drama but between the characters and the pure HEART AND LOVE that is in this show that you will be falling in love with the characters. It vaguely follows the Xiyouji monster of the weak formula but taking far more time to humanize each enemy and having our main cast overcome not only physical obstacles but also their own emotional obstacles as well. Fantastic show. Another is Chinese Odessey (please note this is a two part movie)! This does NOT follow the journey at all instead more of an introspective of the character Wukong. This is more of comedy but this is a cult classic as one of the first romance films with Wukong to show him as more of a complex hero which was a deviation from how he was portrayed in media for years as this point. This movie is silly but it is actually very heartfelt and makes you feel for these characters's plights. If you don't know Xiyouji I would say you will be confused, but you can fall in love with these characters anyway! Whil I can't suggest Dragon Ball I can suggest another Son Goku from My Son Goku! This is a Japanese production but the animation is so fluid and the characters are not only charming but there are some heart reaching scenes in this very cute art style! I would say give this a watch if you enjoy anime but also can appreciate angst even in a cute style.

If you are looking for more just great Xiyouji movies that you can pop in and a fantastic one is the 2015 Hero is Back! This was the Wukong come back animation-wise since 1999 and a lot of people first Wukong in the big screens! Does take liberties story wise as we don't see Sha Wujing or any of the journey really, but the HEART and soul of Sun Wukong is there. Another great one is just watching the first and classic 1961 Havoc in Heaven! This was the staple of Wukong iconics for decades and even now you see this Wukong in commercials! This is just a beautiful art style and without a doubt charming and feel good vibes. This one is surprising but actually Nezha Reborn where Sun Wukong actually makes a cameo appearance, but I hear so many people got into Xiyouji just cause how much they love him. So while it's not Xiyouji I would say give it a watch if you are a die hard Sun Wukong fan.

There is also Monkey King Reborn which while less known I still think is wonderfully popular and shows both great animation and also how all three characters of Wukong, Bajie, and Wujing interact in a movie. There is also Monkey King 2 which I know that usually I would say which the first movie but honestly the second movie is my personal fav. You don't miss much without watching the first as the second starts right at the begging of the journey and we are introduced to some of the best designs for these characters in my opinion. This last one is kinda of a hit-or-miss but Conquering the Demon! This one follows Sanzang as a demon hunter in a loosely based story of him finding his disciples, each more monstrous than the last in a dark-comedy! If you enjoy Stephen Chow films then you know what kind of humor you are going to get but it is new take on Xiyouji films in a unique but still entertaining manner! They really make you feel for Sanzang as a character and one of the best humanizations of him really as a man still learning about the world himself.

There some other that are great but I would suggest more on a second watch or if you know the story more! Saiyuki / The Great Alakazam was the first eng dub saiyuki piece of media that came to the USA and still had a lasting influence with the beloved character Rinrin! There is also Monkey King 2009 that only looks at the story BEFORE the journey, adding so many elements to Wukong's childhood and his relationship with the Six Eared Macaque. I would also suggest the Monkey King Netflix Movie as while it is fast-paced it really makes you understand how dangerous but also how complex Sun Wukong is. I think it was a charming movie so give it a watch!. Last is Immortal Demon Slayer! This movie was based on a web novel that was extremely popular in the early 2000s which was based off Chinese Odessey funny enough! This is a movie I would suggest if you know Xiyouji already but it such a tragedy I have to share if you love angst.

Ruler of monsters, a powerful sorcerer, heir to the throne of Escanor, possessing the power of light, he retires into his dark gardens and forests to create loyal servants from flowers and his blood and flesh, the Murmurers or Whisperers, and then an army from them. And he seized power, since there was a matriarchy in the kingdom. I like his unusual image and character, although he lacks depth and elaboration due to the original format (comics and animated series). But what if we look differently and deeper? He is not as evil as he is portrayed, he does not execute or kill even rebels and opponents of his power, at least he is more merciful than the kings of the Middle Ages. And still, he is a smart ruler, an excellent strategist and politician, he grew up in the palace and knows the rules games, unlike his stupid little sister Elion, who has no control abilities.

Matriarchy in the royal family is explained by the transfer of special magical powers through the female line, but we see that Phobos is still stronger, so much so that he became a threat to all worlds, that he wanted to take over the entire universe and establish his own order. It was because of him that the Veil was created to protect all worlds from Meridian/Phobos. However, this caused damage to the kingdom, they became isolated from all worlds, trade stopped and a crisis began in the country. Phobos originally hoped to break through the Veil and free Meridian, but for this he needs more magical powers, and he draws them from the land of Meridian, sacrificing the fertility of fields and gardens. As far as I remember, he did not want the death of his kingdom, there is a phrase that he says that he needs the power of Elion, otherwise Meridian will come to an end. This means that he is still worried about leaving strength for the country.

I'm leaving out some of the silly bits in the story, as well as some of the plot points that don't make sense, but overall, I like to think along those lines.

Also, it seems to me that his androgynous image is explained by the fact that when he was born, he was raised as a girl in some way (remember Gwyndolin from Dark Souls), since the country was a matriarchy, and the queen thought that he was the only heir. He was taught to be a ruler. And he grew up with this thought until Elion was born, a girl to whom all power would be transferred. And this could greatly hurt his ego, destroy his goals and years of preparation for the throne, and it is understandable. He's not a hero, but he's not the pure evil that people want to make him out to be. He's more in the gray area.

Fanfic recommendations about Pete Phongsakorn Saengtham

- Just some of my favorite fics that center around his character, with or without VP elements - Hello people! I've done the same post on Twitter a while back but it needs to be in here as well, where I can actually tag the people responsible for giving me so many feelings about my son (+ no word limit so I can show my appreciation properly). I love all of you, you're the best ❤️

Deep Dive by @ameliarating I need to start this off with my favorite Pete fic of all time. Zaatar's writing brings so much emotion out of me. It felt like I was slowly suffocating underwater, a sense of claustrophobia consuming me, making my chest feel tight. The mix of good and bad memories Pete has about the safehouse is impeccably utilized in this fic, instances when he wanted the rope, when he didn't, when he wanted to hide etc. He feels conflicted and it's so obvious in its subtlety here, in a good way. Even thinking about it now makes me want to cry, truly an incredible fic. I would also suggest you read Civil Hands by them as well, a fantastic character study about Pete and his relationship with violence.

drank every scar by @ginnymoonbeam Oh my lord, this fic destroyed me. There's been only a small amount of instances in which every sentence of a fic made me gasp and need a minute to gather my thoughts and this is one of them. I can't believe how accurately they portrayed Pete here. His total disregard for his own well being, his reluctance to open up to Vegas about his injury, his total lack of self worth. It made me go feral and it's only (almost) 3k words. So much impact, so much characterization, such spectacular work. As a Pete fan, thank you immensely for this, I keep coming back to it a lot.

won't give up these ghosts by @fleet-off This fic blew me away when I first read it. What might sound like a silly, grim idea at first glance actually managed to capture the core aspects of Pete's character and how they bounce off of Vegas' character, showcasing their relationship post canon in a way that felt so real and so them. His need to shut off and be invisible to the world expressed through this weird habit of his captured my attention and never let it go, which was only possible because of fleet's spectacular writing. Go read all of her fics, she's a gifted writer and the VP fandom becomes richer every time she posts.

Once You Are Real by @veliseraptor Oh God, this fic lives rent free in my mind. The "Pete got forgotten" storyline has so much potential post canon and Lise's way of dealing with it blew me away. It was explored wonderfully and Pete's feelings came through so beautifully, it stuck with me after finishing it. It's a concept that's difficult to portray well, keeping characters as close to canon behavior as possible, but Lise managed to pull through and bring us this fantastic fic. I would suggest checking out the rest of their fics, they're a very talented writer.

splinter by @lu-sn Here comes lusn with her mission to cause me emotional damage with every fic she writes. She usually does so with her Macau centric fics, making me an even bigger fan of the cute, little gremlin than I already was, but in this list, I want to talk about splinter and how it devastated me. The relationship between Pete and Chan has captivated me and the way it was showcased here made me gasp by the end of it. It's nice to read fics with a little more realistic approach to Pete's situation once he returned to the main family from the safehouse and Lusn nailed it! Read all of her fics immediately, she's great!

It's There for the Asking by @minorfamilysupremacy I simply cannot express how much this fic touched me. While reading it, I kept picturing Pete from ep 9 and his bubbly, drunk self; Ellie captured that image perfectly in her fic. So many emotions packed in 1.5k words, I don't know how she did it but she gets Pete's character so much and she portrays him so well. His conversation with Vegas was one of the best I've ever read in any VP fic, in regards to being centered around him. I can't thank her enough for this gift. Check out the rest of her fics, each and every one of them is phenomenal.

Winning and Losing by @thelastperformer OMG, pls go read this fic immediately, I don't know why it's so underrated. The concept, Pete's characterization, the other characters, the narrative choices, the writing, all of it is so so good and deserves to be experienced, especially from Pete fans. Pete shines brilliantly here, his violent side, his efficiency, his love and concern for those he loves. I enjoyed the hell out of it and you should definitely give it a chance.

I Ain't Done by @kuipereris This fic punched me multiple times in the face and I said thanks. It isn't for everyone - as it has a MCD - but for those who can stomach it, the concept and how it's executed brought so much emotion out of me (surprisingly, I didn't cry but I felt everything to my core). We see how Pete struggles post safehouse and the choices he made, trying to navigate this new reality he lives in and it's just so effective in its narrative. I hadn't seen Pete's feelings being explored in this way before and I immensely appreciated it. Go check out the rest of their fics, they're angsty af and delicious.

words spilling out like sand by @loveable-sea-lemon VegasPete and poetry?? From Pete's POV?? HELL YES! I keep coming back to it from time to time, the poems are so mesmerizing and pack so much emotion into them. I really liked how Pete's feelings about Vegas were explored in this form, it's very unique. Check out the other poem as well from the poems for pete <;3 series, it's emotional and a very good read.

'cause your hands and lips still know their way around by @waitforthestars This was one of the first fics I read I believe, when I had first joined the VP fandom. I really like it and it holds a fond place of nostalgia in my heart now, even though it's been a couple of months since I read it. The thoughts Pete has here flow like blood, messy and jumbled like his mind. I loved the writing style, it felt like it fit with Pete's mental state once he escaped from the safehouse. Good job!

Of course, I'm sure there are more amazing Pete centric fics out there that I could very well not have discovered or not mentioned in this post. I just wanted to gather some of my favorites so that I can share the love for them with the rest of you. Pls pls pls, if you know of more Pete centric fics and want to talk about them, share them. This is probably starting to get annoying, but here are a few more scattered, silly thoughts about the mario movie. :)

(Did I go see the movie again for the 4th time in theaters last night? YES. Is that an excessive amount of times? YES. Have I spent a ridiculous amount of money at this point? YES. Do I have any regrets? NOT EVEN THE TINIEST BIT, NO.)

Trust me, I would be totally honest if I was starting to get bored, but I'm really, really not??? I had a really tough, busy week and I just wanted to be able to relax and have a good time and it was delightful as always!!! I left feeling so much happier. I'm already thinking about going to see it next week again! No one and nothing can stop me!!!! Other than possibly my bank account, LOL.

Obviously the reunion hug takes the lion's share of the focus, but I just want to express my undying love that Luigi and Mario share MULTIPLE hugs before we even get there, and that's not even counting moments at the beginning and the end where they have an arm around each other in kind of a half-hug! They are wonderfully, unabashedly affectionate and it's the best thing in the world!!!

As much as the family is teasing Mario & Luigi about their commercial, I DO appreciate that after their dad's insensitive comment and Mario leaves the table, all the adults genuinely look a little taken aback and stare at the dad (except the grandpa who is in his own little world lol) as if to say Wow, Not Cool. Like, it seems like saying something like that would even be a step too far for the uncles! I just like that there's subtlety and layers to the family stuff, and no one is portrayed as being 100% a jerk (even if some of them have some jerk-ish qualities like the guy stealing food from poor Luigi XD)

ALSO: in fanworks, I've seen several people allude to the bedroom Mario's shown in as being only his bedroom - I was watching those scenes closely this time just to confirm to myself (because I'm annoying about being as accurate as possible, haha), and it's DEFINITELY both his and Luigi's room! It goes by quick, but you can see another bed with green sheets in the far corner of the room clearly in at least one shot, both in the Brooklyn version and in the Mushroom Kingdom version. For some reason, it just tickles me that it's SUCH a small little inclusion and not really necessary, they could have just left it ambiguous whether they actually share a room or not, but nope, that detail is there if you are looking for it! :)

Y'know, even when Mario is dragging Luigi into a dangerous situation and jumping down through what is essentially a WHIRLPOOL into the sewers, he STILL stands at the bottom and waits/watches to see that Luigi makes it down safely after him before moving forward. OVERALL A SILLY THING TO DO but, as he always does when it comes to Luigi, Mario has those extra moments of care and attention. :)

Peach going on and on about how small Mario is will always just make me smile, I'm sorry XD IT'S TRUE (and I love how he's just like "yeah, yeah, make fun of me if you want" and moves on to the important stuff without actually getting mad, it's clear he's heard it all before)

I JUST LOVE MARIO IN GENERAL. I LOVE HIM IN THIS MOVIE???? I LOVE HIM, ALL HIS LITTLE MOVEMENTS AND MANNERISMS. HE IS JUST THE SWEETEST, BRAVEST LITTLE MAN AND HE DESERVES MORE APPRECIATION

I might make a separate appreciation post but here is a shortlist of little things I love: his little "I don't want to eat this" wiggle-dance when first trying to eat the mushroom, the bashful way he kicks up his feet and holds his hands behind him when he's standing next to Peach in the Flower Fields, the way he just cutely, awkwardly WAVES HELLO at everyone wherever he goes (in Toad Town, through the crowd as they're leaving the castle, even to the Kong Guards), how he's genuinely excited to see Donkey Kong's kart for a split second before DK's "I hate you" comment, how he saves DK in the water with NO hesitation at the risk of his own life because he is just a deeply good person, etc etc etc.

As much as I deeply wish that this movie had an actual scene where Mario gets to talk more about Luigi to his new friends and the dialogue wasn't always operating at Maximum Efficiency, I DO appreciate that there are still those couple of beats where you are explicitly reminded that Mario is doing this, ALL of this, for Luigi's sake and only that. The one that got to me this time is when Peach and him have that sidebar before the DK fight where she's like "this is a REALLY bad idea" and his retort is: "well, do you have another way to save my brother!?" And then you see him go on a little face journey where he's calculating things before agreeing to the fight and proclaiming that yes, he WILL win. BECAUSE HE WILL DO ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING FOR HIS BROTHER AND IF THE ONLY WAY TO REACH HIM IS TO FIGHT AND WIN, EVEN IF NO ONE BELIEVES IN HIS ABILITY TO DO SO, THEN BY GOD, HE'S DOING IT. ANOTHER REASON THAT I LOVE HIM!!

The aesthetic of the shattered Rainbow Road pieces glowing in the ocean around DK and Mario (and then inside the eel) is genuinely very beautiful and I always love the effect of it!

I'M SORRY, I CAN ALSO BE VERY CRITICAL OF THIS MOVIE IF I WANT TO, BUT HOW COULD ANYONE - ANYONE - WATCH MARIO AND LUIGI WREAK ABSOLUTE HAVOC AND DESTROY BOWSER IN PERFECT, EFFORTLESS UNISON WITH THE SUPERSTARS MUSIC PLAYING AND NOT FEEL ABSOLUTE JOY??? That sequence is actually perfect, and the music is even MORE perfect. Every time, I hear it, I feel exhilarated and light as air and like anything is possible! HOW COULD YOU NOT THINK IT'S MAGICAL??? HOW??? [STANDS ON TOP OF A MOUNTAIN AND YELLS] HOW????????

Something that I have never noticed until this last rewatch and caught me genuinely offguard is that when Bowser's in the jar and Mario makes the "told ya I'd get you a turtle!" comment to Peach, if you're paying attention to Bowser, he actually does a "hardy-har-har VERY FUNNY" fake laugh as he's being all pouty, and I laughed outloud at that.

ALSO IN GENERAL, I AM SO PROUD OF THIS VERSION OF THE CHARACTERS AND THEIR WILLINGNESS TO PUT BOWSER IN ACTUAL JAIL!!!! HE DESERVES JAIL!!!! Like, I get that we're all very sweet and forgiving here and he's usually allowed to just slink away in most of the games, but seriously, HE COMMITTED VARIOUS WAR CRIMES FOR INCREDIBLY STUPID REASONS, THANK U FOR PUTTING HIM IN JAIL

The last scene with Luigi and Mario doing their handshake and then Luigi just full-on playfully poking Mario in the belly before running off is the CUTEST thing and also has the most Younger Sibling Energy of basically anything in the movie, lol. He also does it to him in the opening scene! I loveeeee ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

hiiiii i don't know if you are okay with your followers ranting, if you're not just disregard this and I'm super sorry! (And sorry about any typos I'm on phone and sometimes autocorrect does what it wants)

But basically I was feeling down in the dumps and I wanted to read some content about comfort characters and I stumbled upon a Mihawk fic so I started reading and (trigger warning here!! Mentions of abuse but nothing graphic described!!! take care of yourselves and your peace!!!) it sadly was untagged with tw and for some reason, in what should have been a normal mihawk x reader, there was him being extremely toxic and demeaning towards his significant other either because he had a bad day or he was jealous and stuff like that.

I know it may seem silly to some people, but it really screwed me over. I know everyone can write what they want and headcanon characters how they want but it got me really upset and I figured someone who finds comfort in writing and watching shows and stuff could understand

Thank you for all your content, and especially for not making Mihawk abusive towards the reader. To me, he always seemed just as you portrayed him. Cold, perhaps, but not one to put you through emotional and especially not physical turmoil. Your fics and even little drabbles and comments are super nice and they helped cheer me up so thanks a whole bunch. And especially thank you for tagging tw stuff too and making this a safe space.

This applies to all characters, by the way, not just mihawk. You write all of them wonderfully and I love reading through them, especially Sanji and Shanks. It's just at that particular moment your mihawk content really saved me a good few silly tears. Thanks ❤️

finished the Handsome Jackpot, thoughts below!

-by far one of the most lovingly piece of borderlands content i've seen from the devs since tftbl. from the story to the characters to the dialogue, it's all so wonderfully woven together that I couldn't help but hope it never ended! which is saying a lot considering how the main campaign went!!!

-to start, all the characters are so wonderfully written and feel so real. Ember stood out to me as not another femme fatale or Girlboss(TM), but a real woman who's fighting for better things, for her friends, and for freedom. She has a cute quirk with fire and frankly her whole personality is amazing. Freddie, my god, he was so funny and cheeky. I knew he was going to betray us by the pretty boy's one line but i really hoped he wouldn't! he was written with so much personality and quirks, i actually felt for his robots :(. pretty boy is a funny type with sick intentions that only got worse as time went on and the mayor of Trashapolis (???) was SO COOL. i loved his design, just wish we got a name! Getting to FINALLY interact with Moxxi on a more personal level... ugh i love her so much. she's so human and funny and her revenge is justified, you go girl! I missed her proximity to the main campaign so it was nice to get level with her :(( Everyone in this dlc is a victim in one way or another and I think that's what makes everyone's dynamics work so well together.

-onto timothy, since that's one of the main points you guys are probably looking for LOL, his dynamic with all these characters is truly what makes him so... alive? the way he talks about his regret with Ember, his "im not as weird as Freddie" process, and his overall pining crush on Moxxi is just. so good. He feels 3D and isn't just a "sad, pathetic meow meow" as fandom portrays him to be. He's crass and rude and frankly selfish at points, but then he has moments where he is so, so sad and you realize that behind the mask (sorry), there's another victim of Handsome Jack's that you get to help. Just like Moxxi. Seeing him juggle between himself and jack is also so unique to him and frankly, it tugs at the heart :(

-Man. the story. this DLC is exactly what BL3 was missing all along. A sense of fucking connection. This whole story you're jumping from one character to another but they're all connected in such intricate ways. You hear Moxxi talk about her trauma from Jack and you feel sympathy, you find out Timothy thinks about her still and then you meet Ember, who despite being burned (sorry again) by Timothy, comes through to help him. Freddie, albeit a "new" addition, is just as much a victim to everyone else. The scene where they're all standing at the table coming up with a plan felt so, so good. I felt like we actually played a purpose in the story and getting to see everyone together like that? it was a genuine connection between the player and the story. It felt like we were back in Sanctuary standing beside Roland, Lilith, Brick and Mordecai. The characters made the story for sure, but being able to see everyone gathered like that? brought together for a good cause and better loot? that's what borderlands is fucking about. When you spend the entire main campaign forgetting the point of a mission, running from one place to another, never actually being together, it just... feels empty. and this DLC rectifies that so, so well. There's no more "talk to lilith on the bridge".

-the narrated plan scene has got to be one of the best scenes i've ever played. i laughed and it was still action packed and it was just, so, so good. instead of idly sitting back watching a character make a dumb decision, or being mocked, the player is IN on the game, invited to join and actually feel like a part of the plan!

-The UI deserves a praise for the dumb mission names, the silly names of the parts of the map, freaking casa de Timothy made me laugh. It's the silly humor that kinda tied a nice little wrap on a good story and great characters.

-The bosses, oh my god, that was SO FUN!!!! the claptrap revenge/zombie thing literally threw me back to COD zombies days, the JACKBOT was SUCH a cool multi-level boss- even Freddie was great! Just like Krieg's DLC, there was a lot of fun with these levels.

-The design of the Jackpot frankly felt like we were back in BL2 Pandora, which was such a nice refresher sorry! I really enjoyed running through what felt like opportunity again :,). all the jack stuff was CREEPY! I didnt realize the jack tower moved and then it did and i was like OH.

-bugs of course put a tamper on the fun, had to restart twice 'cause the audio bugged and then Timothy just... didn't show up to hack the forcefield LOL . Not exactly the DLCs fault.

-the ending music was the bow on the masterpiece, sorry!

Overall, this DLC nearly makes up for the awfulness that was the main campaign. there was heart to be found in every corner, love crafted in every piece of dialogue, and genuine FUN in each mission. I almost wished i didn't play 'cause now im longing for another GOOD BL thing to play. open to talking about it as always hehe <3

HEADCANONS!!! YES!!! SO MANY!!! Some examples are: he has sensory issues (dirt under his fingernails really bothers him, and he absolutely adores his yellow sweater because Texture) and he understands Friend/animal speak quite well, and he does Not wear a shirt under his sweater alsvskdvksvsj

I project onto him… a little bit? I try to keep myself kinda distanced from the characters I write about, because I want them to feel authentic and distinct and not OOC, but I relate to Ghostbur a lot and definitely include things that I’ve experienced in his fanfics—though it has more to do with specific feelings as opposed to situations.

The takes this fandom has on Ghostbur make me so upset 😭 It’s like… I want to make a longer post about this actually, but I’ve found that a lot of people either…

A) Infantilize him; treat him like he’s a toddler/very young child; think that he doesn’t understand a thing about the world; make him not care about other people because he’s too naive and childish; make him talk like a child. Basically, they get rid of all his complexities and thoughtfulness and uniqueness and reduce him to a dumb, shallow shell of a person. It’s frustrating and it’s hurtful and it’s awful.

B) Remove all aspects of his happy personality; make him quiet and depressed; make him dull, deeply emotional, and nothing else; see him as almost this… god, or other-worldly being who never smiles or has a carefree thought; is Depressed. This view doesn’t infantilize him, sure, but it also gets rid of the things that make Ghostbur… Ghostbur. This view removes every happifying, fun, innocent and wonderfully unique part of him, reducing him to Depressed Guy.

In actuality, Ghostbur is both innocent and plagued with thoughts/feelings too heavy to bear. He’s carefree in some areas and deeply thoughtful in others. He has a youthful mindset and is able to think through things in a mature way. He’s deeply emotional and experiences a wide range of emotions, not just sadness or happiness. He does his own thing, perfectly content to spend time with Friend on a walk, and is deeply attentive to the emotional state of others, doing his best to help them.

Ghostbur is just as complex as any other character—actually, he’s much more complex than a lot of other characters! It makes me so sad and frustrated when people reduce him to either of those two views I listed, because those aren’t Ghostbur. That’s not how he’s portrayed in canon, and that’s not who he is.

LIKE. I MEAN I’M A WRITER, I LIKE SOME GOOD ANGST, BUT THAT’S JUST TOO MUCH. I MEAN SERIOUSLY.

And it’s made even worse by the fact that he’s still in limbo, even if he has Friend with him. I never thought I’d wish for another Reddit fanfiction, but I mean… it can only go uphill from here, right?? I just WANT WILBUR TO GIVE HIM A HAPPY ENDING THAT IS ALL I ASK 😭😭

Okay I’d replace kiss with hug akdgsjsvsksg but that’s still a big deal because I’m not a very touchy person—physical touch is my least favorite love language and in most cases it just makes me feel uncomfortable—but I would gladly run up to Ghostbur and hug him. He needs a hug :’(

I mean… pretty much All The Things have already happened to the poor soul, but if, for whatever reason, he truly dies—as in, ceases to exist at all, even in limbo—I will probably actually just Cry. I would just cry.

“Hello.” Iwaizumi stepped cautiously into the room, looking around carefully to check he wasn’t stepping on anything. “No scorpions this time?”

“That was a reasonable solution to an unreasonable problem,” Hoshiumi proclaimed loudly.

“Did you not consider air freshener?” Iwaizumi looked under the benches, then straightened up. “Bokuto, why are you holding a rat?”

“It’s not a rat,” Bokuto said immediately, “And it doesn’t have tetanus. That I know of.”

“That you know of,” Iwaizumi repeated, unimpressed. “I see.”

“It’s a cat,” Komori explained. “Bokuto found it near a McDonald’s.”

“I only came in here to tell you to finish your stretches,” said Iwaizumi, exasperated. “I don’t care about the- wait, which McDonald’s?”

“The one by the station…?” Bokuto sheepishly started to hide Ferris behind his back. “It seemed lonely.”

“Stop hiding it.” Iwaizumi came closer, squinting carefully. “Did it have a collar?”

“I’m not dumb, I wouldn’t take a cat with a collar.” A pause. “Actually, yes, I would, but this one didn’t have one.”

“May I see it?”

“It bites,” Hoshiumi warned.

“It probably has tetanus,” Sakusa warned.

“I don’t think so, somehow,” Iwaizumi mused, reaching his arms out. Ferris began to struggle in Bokuto’s hold; Bokuto dropped him in surprise.

Ferris ran to Iwaizumi, who scooped him up. “It is you! Do you know how worried we’ve been?” Iwaizumi fussed, bouncing the cat like a baby. “Tooru- I mean, Oikawa – was looking for you everywhere!”

AHHHHHH THE ADVENTURES OF FERRIS .... my 2k words of bullshit... fave

In my JNT universe, Iwaizumi is the sole voice of reason among many, many idiots, but that doesn't mean he's actually sensible. He just has more braincells than the other volleyballers, and that's not exactly hard. This does make him a victim to some of the team's more ridiculous antics, such as the scorpions in the changing room. He's learnt to be cautious and to never attempt to use reason to diffuse any tension. They just don't understand it.

In this scene, he's been sent in to check what they're all doing in the changing rooms. Think your PE teacher checking the changing rooms to make sure none of the idiots are setting things on fire. He's trying very, very hard not to blow up at anyone, despite there being a possibly disease ridden rat or several snakes in the changing rooms, according to the wonderfully not-hysterical Kageyama.

But this scene is also where we see one (or more) of Iwaizumi's weak spots: cute things, and Oikawa. Mainly Oikawa.

His braincells go completely out the window. As soon as he realises that that's his boyfriend's cat, it doesn't look like a scrawny octopus anymore. That's his baby. His child. His precious. Suddenly we understand how he was friends with Oikawa for so long - he is actually just as insane as the rest of them, just differently. That's one of the hardest things about writing Iwa. How do you portray that hidden silly, just below the surface? Who do you allow to bring it out of him? And how do you balance that with his alter-ego, Iwaizumi Hajime (20-whatever-he-is), athletic trainer?

I loved writing the Adventures of Ferris. It's total nonsense from beginning to end.

how is your portrayal ?? where do i begin ? you drew me in from day 1. i knew from how wonderfully you portrayed jax that batbutt would be an excellent fit. you've truly captured his voice and foundation from the film while completely making him your own. he's grungy and textured and very much like a feral dog who is trying to rein himself in and see the bigger picture. he's also a beautiful foil to arthur while also being rooted and grounded in him due to the fact that they're flesh and blood. you're also an incredibly brave writer because digging in and getting to the heart of such a dark and immensely traumatized character is not easy at all nor is it pleasant but you handle everything with grace and empathy and you take him where he needs to go in order to cope and understand what exactly is happening around him and why. he also has lighter moments, even silly moments which are often gallows and tongue-in-cheek but so uniquely him and he's such a joy to write against. arthur loves his brother and i love having you as a foil especially given our characters' ties to one another. it takes a fuckload of trust between writers and in our case good friends to go where we need to go and carry the other through and bounce off each other the way they do it's awesome. i can't wait to see where else your batboy goes and know you'll have a clown tagging along for the much-bemoaned doubletap.

Nicky Faces Catastrophe... And Survives?! - Matti McLean

Synopsis

Nicky was many things: Video rental store employee. Somewhat devoted son. Unobservant slacker. But never heroic.

So when he accidentally unleashes a horde of evil fae upon the world, and discovers that it is up to him to capture them back-he is reluctant.

Thankfully, an actual warrior is there to ensure that the world is safe and that the idiot who hath wrought their fury unto the world doesn’t fall to pieces.

Between his guardian Will, his reckless boss, and a handful of powerful fae, Nicky must learn to overcome his mediocrity and fight for the good of the world- As long as his mother doesn’t kill him first.

Can Nicky grow up in time to save himself? Is he stupid enough to think that he could conquer the god of mortality? Will he die a gruesome death or somehow survive due to sheer dumb luck?

My Thoughts

I walked into this book wanting to support my dear friend, who is the author. And I walked away feeling satisfied, fulfilled, and so full of pride!

Nicky Faces Catastrophe is a book that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s hilarious, fun, and a whirlwind of an adventure! I really didn’t expect to love Nicky as much as I did. He’s endearing, and a little hapless, but he had me absolutely charmed by the end of the book.

And I wasn’t the only one! But in the interest of not spoiling the book, I’ll keep Nicky’s charms hush hush for now.

I’ve had a hit-or-miss relationship with books about the fae for as long as I can remember. But the way they’re portrayed here was perfect for me. They’re wily, and cunning, and a little pretentious. But also relatable, in a very particular kind of way. And the way Nicky just takes everything being thrown at him at face value just adds to the whole fun of the book.

There were twists, there were turns, and every time something was revealed, it not only illuminated something that had previously transpired, it also added to the levity and fun of the whole plot as well. Again, no spoilers, but there is one instance near the end that made me choke on my wine as I read it. It was brilliantly executed, and I’m a little in love with the author for blindsiding me so wonderfully.

If you’re looking for a light-hearted, silly, fun romp through them realm of the fae, with a little chaos and kissing along the way, this is absolutely a book you need to read.

#434 - One of Repetition (Nekomushi) [Hatsune Miku]

Simple song about a regrettable love, but the song kind of feels lively with that boom sounds… It feels like a mix of various styles that were popular at the time, which actually makes the song a bit fresh compared to other ‘copycats’. Interesting song. 

#435 - Odoryanse (YURRY CANON) [Hatsune Miku, GUMI]

Achievement Date: 18-11-10, Upload Date: 16-10-26

The second song that brought YURRY CANON fame. A more upbeat and, well, dance-worthy, this lovely duo song is well loved and covered. A bit more typical, but still has that distinct YURRY CANON flavor, which I really enjoy. Good song.

#436 - Strato Stella (Nayutan Seijin) [Hatsune Miku]

There are really only a few songs left, as N.S. is the one of only few to have all songs on this list, well, one of the reasons being that N.S. stopped uploading to NicoNico and started uploading only to YouTube instead… so there’s that. Closest to a classic rock ballad you’ll get from Nayutan Seijin, and it actually works well for him.

A bit more EDM influence in the production for this MARETU, the lyrics kind of feels like a lighter version of Umetora songs. You can’t get rid of the silliness with overly serious production like this. It’s odd how slightly different yet I have no new words.

One of my favorite Eve songs. Just feels like cracking good time bottled into a song, and the M/V story about a boy who is secretly a superstar and a fan who the boy secretly fancies is just classic storytelling. Wonderfully adapted to Wonderland for Project Sekai, which is very nice. Kind of a sweet turn for Eve, which is good.

#439 - Kabin ni Fureta (balloon) [flower]

Achievement Date: 18-11-22, Upload Date: 16-02-23

Producer’s song before his big hit, but also one of balloon’s best. Portrays that balloon’s style did not come from nowhere, and oddly has a nicer and more palatable chorus. A nice mix of moody and rock that balloon has been trying to re-find since. 

#440 - KILLER B (Umetora) [Luka, Miku, GUMI, IA, Rin]

Achievement Date: 18-11-26, Upload Date: 17-12-21

Probably one of the last group songs before Umetora went more singular, and also shows how he became lighter over the years, less of the thumping bass of Pomp and Circumstances, more of the sign of the changing time than anything else.

Hello! I’m rewriting the HP series, starting from the Marauders’ Era.

I’m an Anti-Snape, but I don’t want to portray him as wholly bad like most people who think like me tend to do. I want to have reasons for Lily to stick with him and defend him for so many years other than him just being her childhood best friend or something. Really, I’m asking for some headcanons? Little moments that Snape and Lily treasure? Little quirks that Snape might have (he likes spicy food, loves bugs, literally anything) to help me humanize him more? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! First of all - best of luck! Rewriting the series from a specific era involves a lot of love and labour. ❤️🌻 Secondly, I appreciate you reaching out to humanise Snape a bit :) It's usually my pet peeves in Marauder fanfics that you really can't see what Lily was holding onto while her friend is being radicalised. There is something complex and dsyfunctional here and it says a lot about both of them. The fact that you want to put effort into characterising him instead of making him one note vessel to be bashed is commendable ❤️

Anyway - things I see Snape and Lily do that lends some complexity to the friendship:

1. Snape is the one who told Lily she is a witch and is the one giving her the background of wizarding world (Azkaban conversation, wondering how Dumbledore sent the letter to Petunia etc etc).

Lily, when we first see her, has fairly good amount of control over her magic and is also a bit reckless with it (jumping off swings to float in air). I can see both her and Snape experiment with magic a bit. They are also both very good at Potions - so I can imagine child Snape and Lily practising a lot of wandless magic together and also have Potions bonding time as they grow older.

A fic that does this wonderfully and I recommend with my whole heart is Check the Spindle by @copper-dust

Here is an exchange from the fic that captures how I see the dynamic between 9 year old Lily and Snape, and why I see teenage Lily having difficulty letting go of him:

'Being in a place isn’t playing,’ Lily laughed. ‘Playing is playing. You have to pretend to be something and that everything is something else, like you could be the conductor, even, and pretend the trains are still running.’

Severus bit his lip. ‘I don’t normally...do pretend things.’

‘Well, that’s silly.’

‘It’s not silly!’ His voice sharpened like a pencil tapered to a point. ‘Being silly is like… doing things that aren’t real. I can do real magic, so I don’t have to play pretend.’

‘Well, so can I!’ Lily was offended by the implication that her special gifts were in any way less real than his. ‘I make stuff move all the time without touching it. Just because I do make-believe doesn’t mean I can’t do…’ She lowered her voice, though there was no one around the deserted field. ‘Magic.’

‘I didn’t say you couldn’t...couldn’t do magic. I know you can. I was the one who told you!’

She followed him out into the wheaty grass, away from the rails. He had turned away from her to face the gingerbread-coloured bricks of the distant foundry. ‘Why don’t you want to play anything?!’ insisted Lily, to his back. ‘I thought you wanted to be friends!’

‘Because I don’t know how, alright?

2. I usually take the cue from Harry's relationship with the Half Blood Prince textbook as a mirror for Lily's own friendship with Snape. When Harry is shocked by Sectumsempra ("he felt like a beloved pet had gone savage"), I see a more intense version of this playing out between them. Harry thinks of the Prince as a "clever boy who had helped him" - and I definitely see Snape's cleverness as part of the draw for Lily.

The volatility and ambiguity of her friendship with Snape and when she loses him to his bigotry and radicalisation, in my head, plays a part of why she is drawn to James, who is so vocally militant about his progressive politics. She feels safe with James - James won't hurt her by something that is a part of her identity, in her head. There is a wound in Lily - with regard to both Snape and Petunia.

(I also recommend work by acciosalmon - she captures the bittersweetness of the friendship without toning down any flaws. And although Snape only appears in a cameo, I thought @izzythehutt also captured the dynamic well in her Sirius-centric AU)

3. Snape loves his mother, but hates his father. He identifies as half a "Prince" - his mother's maiden name. We also see him wearing her clothes - I read this as a defiance against his abusive father (and also the Snapes are dirt poor, so if Snape wants a hand me down, he will only take his mother's). I go back and forth on whether he takes Lily home at any point - but I personally see him as too ashamed of his home, compared to a more well off Lily. I do see Lily pushing a bit to understand her angry, sullen friend more. I talk about breakdown of their friendship here

4. I can see him hoard rare Potion ingredients and be super enthusiastic about Lucius Malfoy's dark objects collection in his manor. (he will think Lucius taste in peacocks is garish and kinda funny - which I think he will unthinkingly bitch about to Lily, and Lily won't like the implications of him hanging out with Malfoy). She may share his enthusiasm for rare Potion ingredients too. And yes, I think he will love bugs too. (btw, the Malfoys genuinely regard Snape as their friend and Snape reacts unconsciously when Harry names Lucius as a Death Eater, Narcissa knows where he lives and asks him to save her son's life - there is a relationship there, even though Snape is technically betraying their ideology by being in the Order)

5. He smokes ( he is self destructive, and doesn't take care of himself, so his habits are combination of depressive neglect and outright destruction). He enjoys reading - especially rare academic journals. If he wasn't radicalised and went down the path he did, I can see him turning into a reclusive researcher as an adult. So I tend to give him reclusive researcher interests. Snape hyper-identifies with magic and is very interested in expansion of his understanding and knowledge of it. I talk about Snape's draw towards powerful men with regard to his attachment trauma here

Also recommend The Atoners by @copper-dust for difficult teenage Snape interactions, but still in keeping with his humanity and guilt.

6. He is very, very aware of his social standing and class! @floreatcastellumposts captures this in a wonderful paragraph in her fic Phyrric:

She’d let Potter call the baby Harry, he’d heard, and he was sure, somehow, that it was Potter that had come up with the name. It felt like a Potter name - on the surface common and friendly and non-threatening, but when you stopped and thought about it, it was usually still just posh boys that were called things like James and Harry and Thomas and William and John and Richard and David and Edward. Kingly sort of names, princely - royal. Just as pretentious as Latin, but with the added sanctimony of an attempt at approachability or equality.

Also the quote that best sums him up is "a child weaned on poison considers harm comfort"

Dean wouldn't have pulled a shift treating nauseated, heat-stroked, or dehydrated park-goers for that if he could've helped it, but when 'technical difficulties' were accompanied by rumors of things moving and stopping on their own in front of the operators' eyes, Dean had to throw down.

No historical tragedies or disasters in the area, ectoplasm, or EMF. Dean's only lead was a battered-looking kid that'd been coming to the park every day since it'd all started.

really interesting au fic! slightly ‘it’s a terrible life’. dean winchester is a hunter/EMT and sam wesson is a college kid destined to die on a roller coaster ride.

Or, the romantic comedy where Dean Winchester and Jo Harvelle are destined to get married, Castiel is given the task of playing matchmaker and fails terribly, the entire Heavenly Host becomes a sitcom audience, God warns against male pregnancy, and Jimmy Novak is incredibly unimpressed with angels in general.

somewhat of a fandom classic and the humor holds up wonderfully. a very silly fic completed with commentary from angel radio throughout the entire thing.

There. Right there. The way the stretch marks swirl and dance over his soft, supple skin. It would be very fair to call Jaskier obsessed, he thinks. His fingers delicately trace the paths they painted on the canvas that is Geralt's soft skin, eyes glinting in the low candlelight as he sees the goosebumps rise on Geralt's flesh.

"Sensitive. I never would've guessed." Jaskier sneaks a kiss to Geralt's hip, the pressure of his lips both barely there and overwhelming.

Geralt's hands flex at his side, clutching at the inn's rough bed sheets as he practices a level of self-restraint he never thought would be needed in his very long lifetime.

Geralt keeps his gaze locked above Jaskier's head, counting the cracks in the ceiling as his cheeks flush pink at the attention being paid to the softer parts of his body. "Hmmm," is all he can come up with. If he actually opened his mouth, he's afraid of what might fall out and he's not sure Jaskier is ready to hear it. Hell, he's not sure he's ready to hear it.

Jaskier's laughter floats through the air, adding to the dream-like atmosphere surrounding them. The noisy world outside of their room ceases to exist as every sense in Geralt's body focuses on Jaskier. Geralt is splayed on their bed, his body bare to Jaskier's viewing pleasure. Though, if Jaskier had anything to say about it, he is only returning the worship paid to him by Geralt's devotion over the years of their relationship.

Jaskier lays tucked between Geralt's legs, pinning him to the straw-filled mattress, equally as nude as his disciple. His fingers trace the graceful dip of Geralt's waist as he begins humming softly, brushing his lips over the sensitive skin of his stomach. The vibrations buzz gently against his skin, causing Geralt's eyes to flutter shut. His heart is racing, his normally slow heartbeat almost matching the tempo of Jaskier's melody.

It's a tune that Geralt has heard before, but has never heard the lyrics to. Come to think of it, Geralt doesn't think he's ever seen Jaskier perform the song before a tavern audience. What if-- Immediately he squashes the thought that this song is only for him, but is unable to fight back that surge of hope. The hope that one day, Jaskier would be only his.

"You can touch me, Geralt." Jaskier reaches up and caresses his clenched hands. "I'd rather that than this." Jaskier works his fingers into Geralt's fisted hands, prying his left hand open first, the right following suit. "Relax. Please enjoy this."

Geralt grunts softly and lets out a sigh. He takes in a deep breath as tries to get his body to relax and take in the pleasure and is immediately overtaken by Jaskier's natural smell-- a subtle mixture of the moment just before the earth is drenched in spring rains, freshly grown grass, sweet, musky flowers bursting into bloom with dewy petals.

Jaskier laughs again and picks up where he left off. "You know... I think Midaëte is my favorite time of year to travel with you." Jaskier presses his fingers into the soft layer of fat that pads Geralt's middle. Geralt shivers and feels the tension draining from his body, sinking into the mattress cradling them. "The contracts have been plentiful, we're flush with coin, and you're not so stingy with your meals." Jaskier watches as his fingers sink in, almost as if they're being absorbed into all that softness. "You start to fill out, darling, and so wonderfully at that. Look at how soft you are."

"Jaskier..." Geralt whines softly, eyes opening again to the hazy world around him. His body burns, arousal simmering low but steady. He picks up a hand, wanting to touch Jaskier in return, but is unsure where he's allowed to touch him. Jaskier reaches up and guides the lost hand to his hair, winking up at Geralt.

"It's nothing to be embarrassed about, witcher. Even beneath this new layer of self-love, the strength it protects is quite evident." Jaskier gives Geralt a self-satisfied grin before burying his face in Geralt's tummy.

"Jask!" Geralt lets out in a most un-witcherly squawk, his hand tightening in Jaskier's hair. Jaskier's laughter is full-bodied and boisterous, and Geralt can't fight back the surge of love that runs through his body. If there were ever a time to tell Jaskier of his love, now would be the perfect moment, surrounded by joy as they were. But the words tumble from his thoughts down to his tongue and get stuck right behind his teeth. One day, he thinks. Soon, he hopes. Now, he wants.

yeahhhh aw 🥺 i love this so it actually ended up being a lil long

you’ve been filming quite possibly the biggest movie of your career so far, and it’s going wonderfully. you get on well with your costars, your director is lovely, and the crew even took a few suggestions you made into account.

today is the day you lose all the confidence you gained. there’s a huge breakdown scene for your character being filmed. screaming, crying, breaking everything around you and collapsing into a ball on the floor. you aren’t sure you can pull this off.

you’re portraying a girl battling mental illnesses, who ignores them until they eventually consume her in the end. the content of the film is heavy, no shit. what’s kept you sane is your supportive friends and extremely supportive boyfriend. he’s insisted on being there for the shoot because he knows you’re worried and wants to get you through it.

you’re in hair and makeup with tom seated next to you. he scrolls through instagram, holding your hand and brushing his thumb over the back of it. you watch in the mirror as your makeup artist paints on dark circles under your eyes.

at this point in the movie, your character hasn’t slept in days. her mom calls her out on it. she cries about how she wants her to get help, but you refuse because you’re in denial of your situation, and you spiral into the breakdown.

“look up for me,” your makeup artist requests, you switching your gaze to the ceiling of the trailer. you go over your blocking for the scene in your head. walk downstairs for school, go to the front door, open it, wait until “don’t bother. i’m taking you to the doctor.” run for the stairs again... or is it the kitchen? fuck, goddamnit.

you’re due on set in fifteen minutes. you can’t be forgetting such a major part of the scene this close to call time. you grip tom’s hand tighter, like that will magically put the blocking back into your mind. he notices and shoves his phone in his pocket with a knowing smile.

“nervous?” tom asks you, your makeup artist finishing up on your eye bags. she prepares what she needs to make your lips look chapped next. when you look over at tom, your eyes hold more than nerves. they hold fear. he drops his smile for furrowed eyebrows. “love, what’s wrong? you’ll be amazing. you-“

“i don’t remember what to do,” you admit in a hushed tone. tom is silent for a moment, deciding if you’re playing around or not. the way your lip wobbles, and the way you bite down on it, tells him you aren’t. “what do you mean?” he speaks at the same volume. “i forgot... i forgot my blocking for, like, half the scene.” you’re now bouncing your leg up and down.

tom being the pro he is already has a solution for you. “alright, so we’ll look at your script. i’m sure it’s written in there,” he says completely calm, you pulling your hand from his to rest your head in it. your entire body hunches forward. “it’s more than that. i can’t do it. i can’t do the scene,” you murmur into your lap. tom frowns at your sulking figure and gets up.

he taps your makeup artist on the shoulder. she hums for him to talk. “um, can you give us a minute alone?” he asks her politely, and softly so you don’t hear. he averts his eyes over to you as an explanation. after seeing the state you’re in, your makeup artist nods, her lips in a line the same as tom’s. “we’ll finish on set, y/n/n,” she says, putting a hand on your arm as she passes you on her way out.

you don’t thank her like you usually do. you only press your palm harder into your forehead, tears filling your eyes. it would be awful if you cried off the makeup she just put on you. another way to ruin the scene.

“love, darling,” tom coos and gets onto his knees so he’s kneeling in front of you. he moves your hand away from your face, once again linking it with his own. “what is it? tell me what’s bothering you.” you tilt your head up carefully, not wanting your tears to smudge the makeup. your voice comes out as a whine.

“i don’t think i’m ready for something like this. i look at- at everyone else, other actors, and i can’t convince people like they do,” you cry out, tom’s wide eyes meeting your glossy ones. he’s been in your place. taking on a role bigger than he thought he could handle, giving in to the pressure. it kills him to see his absolute love going through the same thing. he learned how to ignore the doubts, though.

“y/n, they chose you for the part, right?” tom questions, a certainty to his voice that makes you feel silly about this. you’re having an actual breakdown before the fake one. “yeah,” you whimper out. tom uses his free hand to tilt your chin up slightly. his thumb and index finger hold your face as he speaks. “then, they know you have it in you. i know, too.”

you don’t respond right away, considering the information. tom keeps going and now uses his thumb to dab at the corners of your eyes. “i’ve seen what you’ve done already in this film. i think you actually really care about your character. you can definitely get into her head enough for this scene.” his words are so genuine and honest. he’s always honest with you. you give him a weak smile.

“what if i can’t cry on cue?” tom breathes a laugh out of his nose. “you’re crying now. should i get the director?” he succeeds in making you laugh along with him. you thread your fingers properly through his and sniffle. “thank you for believing in me, tom. you’re one of the best, so i trust you.” “aw, y/n/n,” he pouts at you, bringing your connected hands to his lips, where he leaves a quick kiss on yours.

he then gets off the floor and back onto his feet. “are you ready to go? or, do you wanna look over your script one more time?” you exhale out of your mouth, standing up in front of him. “i’m okay. i was too freaked out to remember before, but now i’m good.” tom nods, arms going around you for a hug, which you instantly reciprocate.

he rub circles on your back, then pulls away. his hands stay on either side of your waist. “i’ll take you over.” “can you stay for the scene? i feel better when you’re there,” you mumble, shifting on your feet. you’re still a bit anxious about the whole thing. you’d prefer having tom around to get you out of your head. his arms circle your middle for another hug.

“sure, darling. anything for the star.”
