Just wanna say how cool it is that the families in twst all have very diverse dynamics, and it’s something that’s normalized
Like Deuce was raised by a single mom, Vil by a single dad, Azul gets along well with his step father, Ruggie was raised by his grandma, Lilia is Silver’s (and Malleus’s tbh) adoptive father, and I could go on cause there are more examples.
It’s genuinely nice how casual the writing is when it comes to these things. Like yeah, their home lives are different and it’s chill cause there’s nothing wrong with not having a nuclear family.

Toby, how old are you?
Alright let’s get the ages out of the way again. Remember that these are my headcanons and my story and all that cool cool cool
Toby: 21
Tim: 24
Brian: 24
Jeff: 21
Ben: physically 20 (technically around in their 30s)
Clockwork: 21
Jane: 22
EJ: 25
Slender: around 500 (physically in his mid 40s)
Sally: physically 8 (technically 70+)
Nina: 17
The blog pulls the cartoon logic where time passes but nobody really ages just for the sake of keeping consistency. Like I know years have passed in real life, but they will stay the same age for my sake. Or you can pretend they’re aging, I don’t really care.
I’m also aware that Tim and Brian’s ages won’t be the most accurate with the timeline of Marble Hornets, but with the way I write them it just feels better to put them nearly in their mid 20s rather than anything significantly older. They just remind me a lot of myself, and the themes in general with the blog is having these people learn to function as adults in a very unstable and unfamiliar environment similar to young adults just trying to learn how to be adults without being given the needed guidance.
Point is, I don’t think it’s an issue of aging them down a couple years then what they would be by the end of Marble Hornets.

I finished my first Baldur’s Gate playthrough yesterday and started a new one today :)
I played a female half-elf bard first, and romanced Wyll
Now I’m playing a male drow fighter and I have yet to decide who to romance

I think it’s kinda cool and a little silly how Total Drama had a burst in popularity because of a little creepypasta of it basically. Goes to show how even small projects like Island of the Slaughtered can reach people for the creativity behind it

Something I love about Idia is the fact that his character has interests outside of like video game and manga. They are all branched out from his special interest, but you can tell Idia likes these things for what they are rather than because they are tied to anime/video games.
Like obviously he’s really into robotics and engineering and generally science, but he also has a bit of an artsy side from canonically being good at drawing (which takes time and practice), to crafting little figures if the Masquerade event says anything. He likes things that takes effort and passion to make from toys to robots.
It’s nice cause characters like him are usually pretty one note. Like everything has to be tied to anime and video games with these weeb characters, but not Idia. He likes board games and art and science and cats and he’s cool and I adore him

Hot take, not a serious one but still. I see Vil as more like a stubborn yet caring older sibling to Epel than any kind of parental figure. Idk how to describe it other than Lilo and Nani. Like similar dynamic, different fonts. Some sense of caregiving is there but ultimately it’s more like a sibling dynamic.

So like are we gonna talk about how Vil’s whole issue stemmed from the fact that he was type casted to play villains all the time and that’s it? Shzsvsgs
Like we got: abused by their mom, neglected by the whole family for being the younger child, bullied for his appearance, GREW UP FORCED INTO SERVITUDE FOR A RICH FAMILY, AND LOST HIS YOUNGER BROTHER TO A FUCKING PHANTOM
And Vil’s reasoning for nearly POISONING someone was: I was picked on once because I always play the villain lmao so sad
