Watch ""God loves Uganda" documentary" on YouTube
youtube
@toprimka Here is the full documentary. I find it absurd that the president of Uganda complains about Western influence in terms of homosexuality, but is happy to support Western influence in the form of intolerant, to put it mildly, US Evangelicals.

Asteroid Observations: Idi Amin
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BIRTH TIME INCORRECT SO IGNORE THE HOUSE PLACEMENTS.
⚠️TRIGGER WARNING: Violence, abuse, murder.
WHO IS HE? Idi Amin was the president and dictator of Uganda. Known for his cruelty and vengefulness. He is not only known for what he did to the country and its people but also for what he ordered to be done to his ex wife because of her cheating on him. He had her legs and arms cut of and the legs sewn on to where the arms used to be and vice versa. He is considered one of the most brutal dictators in modern world history. In 1978 Amin ordered an attack on Tanzania. Aided by Ugandan nationalists, Tanzanian troops eventually overpowered the Ugandan army. International observers and human rights groups estimate that between 100,000 and 500,000 people were killed under his regime. Idi Amin fleed Uganda with his family and lived in Saudi Arabia until he passed away in August 2003.
We will take a look at these asteroids:
Uganda(1279) 🇺🇬
Medea(212) Extreme vengefulness
Machiavelli(19730) ”Machiavellianism is a personality trait that denotes cunningness, the ability to be manipulative, and a drive to use whatever means necessary to gain power. Machiavellianism is one of the traits that forms the Dark Triad.
Narcissus(37117) Narcissistic traits.
Sado(118230) Sadism
Nessus(7066) Abuse, sexual deviancy.
Waldemath Lilith(h58) The darkest of the liliths.
Fixed Star Aldebaran & Fixed Star Algol
Uganda conjunct Pluto: He left a long lasting effect on Uganda. He was at first loved but then extremely feared and hated in this country when he became brutal. He eventually had to flee Uganda when Tanzanian troops overpowered and attacked Uganda. His Uganda and Pluto is also conjunct Fixed Star Canopus which shows scandal, violence, great glory, fame, wealth. He brought so much fear to this beautiful country. ”His secret police force was notorious for torturing and killing Ugandans they believed to be political opponents.”
Sun Square Neptune: His father was absent and they never had a good relationship. Idi Amin was easily offended, had a sensitive ego and a hard time seeing himself clearly which are traits associated with Neptune aspecting Sun. This mixed with Jupiter conjunct his Moon gave him a huge sense of self importance and a god complex.
Narcissus conjunct Sun: He definitely had Narcissistic traits. Anyone who didnt look up to him suffered the consequences. He also needed the constant attention of women. His most known son Jaffar is the 10th of Amin's 40 official children by seven official wives. His son say ”Father had quite an appetite for women” .
Machiavelli conjunct Mercury: A machiavellian mentality. He did whatever he needed to get and keep his power. He did what he felt he needed to do yo get what he wanted, not only when it came to politics but also in his love life. Jessy Gitta Kasirivu, who openly showed his displeasure with Amin’s advances on his then girlfriend exhibited how far the dictator could go to get what he wanted. Jessy was abducted by agents from Amin’s State Research Bureau forced into a car boot and taken away without a trace as Amin had shown interest in his girlfriend Sarah. That was the last time he was seen. After Jessy’s disappearance, The East African reports that his relatives were warned to be quiet about it. His remains were never found and local media never reported it. All because Idi Amin wanted his girlfriend.
Nessus conjunct Moon: Nessus conjunct Moon is common in the charts of people who are extremely vengeful. Nessus is like putting electricity on a planet. Nessus was known to obviously be abusive and extremely brutal. His emotional mature was completely taken over by Nessus.
Algol conjunct Sun: Algol is related to beheadings and Idi Amin often bragged about keeping the heads of his political enemies. ”Algol causes misfortune, violence, decapitation, hanging, electrocution and mob violence, and gives a dogged and violent nature that causes death to the native or others. It is the most evil star in the heavens.” -astrologyking
Aldebaran conjunct Mercury: ”Fixed star Aldebaran is of the nature of Mars (violent death, ultimate ruin by folly or pride.) It gives honor, intelligence, eloquence, steadfastness, integrity, popularity, courage, ferocity, a tendency to sedition, a responsible position, public honors, and gain of power and wealth through others, but its benefits seldom prove lasting and there is also the danger of violence and sickness. ” -astrologyking
Medea conjunct North Node: The myth of Medea was definitely a life theme for him. Idi Amin was extremely vebgeful and took revenge on anyone who stopped on his toes. He killed the man his wife had an affair with and we all know about the revenge he took on his ex wife, one of the worst revenge stories in history.
Waldemath Lilith in Sagittarius: Waldemath Lilith is the darkest of all liliths. Lilith in Sagittarius is found in the charts of a lot of people who have strong religious beliefs or who convert to another religion. Idi Amins father was born a Christian but later converted to islam. Idi Amin himself tried to make Islam Ugandas official religion which he did not succeed with.
Sado conjunct Saturn: He was obviously very sadistic and used his power to get others to do sadist stuff. He was also very structured(saturn) with his sadism. Keeping severed heads in his freezer, ordering people to kidnap people who would be tortured etc.
Forest Whitaker playing Idi Amin in the movie ”Last King of Scotland” :

Fundraiser Share: Help build a home for the orphanage in Uganda
hey everyone! not tcba related but since this blog is popular i thought i'd use the oppurtunity to share something important!
"Hey everyone!! This is Jared Grant, David Gallo and Wanjala Fred, previously we raised money to help buy a property for the orphanage in Uganda, with all the love and support we have all made it happen. There has been so many kind and generous people and businesses. We raised enough to buy them a beautiful 10 acres of land, also lots of farm animals, food, clothes, school fees and supplies, medical bills, cooking supplies, seeds and much more. As they still are in need of daily use things, we want to run another fundraiser, a new one focusing on a home to be built on this land. There is a building that part of them have been living in, but it’s not sanitary, and falling apart quickly. The hole for the toilet has been dug, but still needs work to finish it. With everyone’s help and prayers we can make this happen. If you have any questions feel free to find me on Instagram, or email me through this. If possible please share this link to as many people as you can, we would to get the building started. Thank you so much, God bless you and your families. "
I did do some back-checking, and yes, this is real as far as im aware! Spare a buck or two, and if you cant please share!

Kizazi Moto review
Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire is an anthology of animated shorts from studios all over Africa, with the theme of afrofuturism and science fantasy (mixing frequently indigenous spiritual beliefs with the tech, and many shorts are actually about gods or spiritual beings). It's a shame that the project is attached to Disney, because this is one of the best anthologies I've seen in a long while.
So let's review the individual shorts.
Herderboy
By Uganda's Raymond Malinga, this portrays the story of a boy trying to join a band of herders, which harvest kyber crystals from cyborg cows and are under constant attack by spirits (read dark side hyenas). It's a good start to the anthology; the CGI is bright and makes good use of color, and it has a nice twist at the end.
7/10
Mkhuzi the Spirit Racer
By South Africa's Simangaliso Sibaya and Malcolm Wopé, this one bears a bright and joyous 2D animation. It features a half-human half-something boy who struggles with his Zulu identity, and that all comes crashing down in a race against gentrification. It's a delightful short with beautiful visuals and actual incorporation of cultural themes into the narrative.
9/10
Moremi
By Nigeria’s Shofela Coker, this is a pretty bleak looking CGI short not out of place in Love, Death & Robots. Long ago, soul stealing giants forced a woman to construct magical machines by giving her son's heart to the gods; this is about the summary you're gonna get without getting into heavy spoilers. A delight if you're into mythology as there's quite a few allusions to Nigeria's folklore, but I can see people getting a bit confused and the visuals can be grating at times.
6/10
Surf Sagoma
By South Africa’s Nthato Mokgata and Catherine Green, in a future where sea levels rose and mutant octopi lurk in the depths a boy is peer pressured into surfing in dangerous waters. I have to say, while this has a happy ending it is rather bleak and the CGI visuals are not particularly pleasing.
5/10
First Totem Problems
By South Africa’s Tshepo Moche, we're back to 2D, this time more Disney-esque. If I had to describe this, it'd be like a mixture of the first half of Brother Bear and Coco. It's pretty fun, though a bit lacking in substance and the family feuds can get grating.
7/10
Mukudzei
By Zimbabwe’s Pious Nyenyewa and Tafadzwa Hove, an influencer desecrates Great Zimbabwe, only to be taken to a timeline where it never fell to colonialism and became basically Wakanda. The concept alone is amazing, though the story itself is rather generic.
8/10
Hatima
By South Africa’s Terence Maluleke and Isaac Mogajane, this is by far my favourite of the shorts, it features the tragic conflict between merfolk and humans, with a Black Panther 2 reveal at the end. With stellar 2D animation and allusions to Dogon mythology, as well as a good solid plot where the reveal has just the right amount of foreshadowing without becoming obvious.
10/10
Stardust
By Egypt's Ahmed Teilab, I had the highest expectations for this one, being the only Middle Eastern short in the mix. It's an alright story, I really loved the science fantasy twist on astrology by just being handed a "destiny" in a tube with stars inside. The protagonist naturally choses her own fate over the manufactured ones... though getting there is quite spoilerific.
8/10
You Give My Heart
By South Africa’s Lesego Vorster, this is another return to 2D animation and the second one about influencers amusingly enough. The plot kicks off in a competition in which the human contestants can ascend to godhood. Godhood is very much treated like being an influencer, and amusingly one of the previous contestants was demoted by typing in all caps. Overall pretty fun and the animation is gorgeous, though the characters designs can get a bit ugly.
9/10
Enkai
By  Kenya’s Ng’endo Mukii, the final short is done in a CGI mimicking stop motion, which combined with the stellar coloration and lighting makes for a stunning visual experience. This too deals with the divine, this time the young Enkai seeking to become a creator deity like her mother. There is a big plot twist that I will not spoil, and recontextualises the whole short.
9/10
Conclusion
I give the overall anthology 9/10; barring a few hiccups, these are wonderful stories from Africa's many creative voices. Again, pity Disney has a grasp on this.

top 5 mythological figures or myths?
you didn’t specify which so like i pulled up my book of african and caribbean myths & legends
my number one fave i never talk about is told amongst the yoruba people in nigeria (not yoruba but that's my country...), togo & benin (west african countries! africa is not a country. as a disclaimer). it’s a creation myth. a lot happens in it but the background is there’s deities in the sky—orishas. they’re ruled by their father and creator, olorun, who is known as their father, the sky god. it’s the magical story of how obatala (the orisha of creativity and inner peace, a very deep thinker, always solving problems and coming up with ideas) created the earth, the first people and the first ancient city, ife (in nigeria!!!). even though all of the orishas have magical powers to create wonderful things, their plans do not always work out as expected. my favorite orisha in this myth is obatala's son, ogun, the blacksmith. he’s so funny. just wants to work in his forge on his weapons and doesn’t like to be disturbed. they need to free him.
shoutout to eurydice and orpheus. they make me cry.
3rd is another african myth. not sorry. it's a creation story about the buganda people of uganda (in east africa, for all you westerners who know nothing about africa). it’s about how death came into the world, and above all it's a love story between kintu and nambi. in this version, kintu is the first man to be created on earth. he meets and falls in love with the only daughter of the sky god (gulu), named nambi. he is set several impossible challenges to prove he is worthy to marry her. they're impossible but of course he figures it out because he loves her and she loves him. also he cheats, because of course. think eros and psyche. i love nambi. she’s described as fiery and fearless. & especially i adore the lack of eurocentric ideas of beauty. dark bodies and strong arms being used to describe all of gulu's children indiscriminately to show their godliness. kintu's skin being as dark as midnight and his hair twisted and curled into tight knots around his head. gorgeous bronzed skin and black eyes that flash with flecks of amber being nambi's description. and all these things are positive and attractive...ANYWAY how death comes into the world is arguably the least important part of this imo but if you care it's because her brother walambe follows her to live on earth cause he follows her everywhere. and also he's death.
to be boring; the odyssey! it's on my to-read list for sure it's so fun. i lovee odysseus and his lying trickster debatably a good person swag.
have to represent my boy reuben from christian mythology. oldest brother who failed to save his youngest-minus-one little brother from being sold into slavery? love him. mwah.

Hello this is random but that post you made yesterday about the I'm like a lawyer debut has given me so many brain worms. Do you happen to know Why it was such a huge, shocking thing for them to play/watch? I've been trying to figure out why but can't seem to find any information. Thanks in advance! :)
oh my god i wrote a whole thing and then tumblr's piece of shit editor DELETED it. take 2 here we go
one thing i wanna emphasize is that i'm just some guy and by no means the most qualified to discuss this. anyone who has the capacity to weigh in constructively is absolutely encouraged to do so. this is just what i know/remember.
SO the video fall out boy did for "i'm like a lawyer with the way i'm always trying to get you off (me & you)" was done pretty unconventionally for them. it doesn't feature them super heavily and instead focuses on a pair of ugandan teens who fall in love until one night the boy is stolen from his home and conscripted as a child soldier. he manages to escape and reunites with the girl and by the video's end they're standing together and holding hands. the band features very peripherally, just kind of playing in between the larger story beats.
fall out boy went to gulu, uganda for the shoot, and shot the video entirely in 24p cameras so they could donate the money that would have gone to music video costs to a local cause in the area (pete doesn't specify but he says he thinks it's going to a school). they also used the video to highlight a nonprofit organization called invisible children, whose mission statement is to prevent the use of child soldiers by a particular group called the LRA (who were operating in uganda at the time). if you were on the internet in the 2010s you probably remember the "kony 2012" viral video campaign; i certainly do. the movement initially aimed to get the guy in charge of the LRA arrested, but ultimately it also kind of exposed a lot of controversy about the invisible children organization itself, how legit their intentions and methods were, and so on. again, there's a lot going on here and i'm not the best person to unpack it so i do encourage you to read up on this on your own.
the important part is that this video was shot in 2007, aka a full 5 years before kony 2012 became a household name. basically fob's intention was to raise awareness for a really long-running civil war going on in africa, and to basically put their money where their mouth is. regardless of the efficiency and effectiveness of the invisible children organization (which i think is very worth criticizing for my part), pete at least believed in the ethos of it - he took part in pushes to raise awareness in the US prior to embarking on the video shoot. he figured if people were gonna be paying so much attention to fall out boy anyway, maybe they could shine that spotlight on people who could use it.
again, this was filmed on location, so they were actually there - they've all cited this particular trip as pretty life-changing to say the least. pete did some journal entries during this time and uploaded them all in one block after the video debuted in july 2007, in which he talks about being just generally kind of scared but also excited. the one entry that i think stands out to me most in that is this one:
t.i.a.- the acronym for the most applicable phrase ever. when the taxi never comes, or drops you off at the wrong spot, when the electricity goes off every single night, when there is sand in your rice- "this is africa" is simply what is said. at an ngo hotspot resturaunt- the only people that go to africa are christian or have a deathwish- not sure where we fit into that. so many white people it felt like the suburbs. there are over 100 ngos in gulu alone and the people still live in utter despair. at dinner people spoke of danger and missions- of the congo- the way people back home speak of gambling in vegas or frat parties. you win some, you lose some. the air everywhere smells acrid and burnt. ive been told its because people burn their trash here. walked part of the way in the pitch black , kind of as tho we had a mugger fantasy. oh well. ended up on the backs of "boda bodas"- these little 300cc motorbikes shooting off under the stars. and they never looked so goddamned bright anywhere on this planet as they do tonight in gulu. im gone.
so to answer your question: it was an intense (and emotional) video in that it a) was genuinely aimed toward spotlighting a social cause, and b) it was very very unlike any fall out boy video that had been done prior to then. this was 2007 so fob was at the peak of their prehiatus fame, and the whole celebrity culture crush was at an all-time high. i dont want to claim that they were the only artist doing this kind of thing at the time but it did kind of stand out compared to the way fob were being marketed during this stage (as in a focus on appearances and how they were these cute nonthreatening boys).

I’m watching Crocodile 2000 and it’s your basic B movie with college students as fodder for the monster.
I haven’t watched it since it first came out when I was a kid, BUT LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING!
It has the perfect prequel potential!
Spoilers for background:
So in 1904* a man named Harlan Clemens created a hotel called The Nile Hotel and imported a massive (at least 30ft or 9m long) Nile crocodile called Flat Dog and made her the main attraction.

Now supposedly this crocodile was descended from the crocodiles that were rode into battle by the Pharaohs (yeah, right, sure there bud).

So Harlan created a shrine dedicated to her and pretty much built a cult around her claiming that she was an avatar for the ancient Egyptian god Sobek**.
Harlan thought that he could harness Sobek’s powers/gain favor by worshipping Flat Dog.
Now, during this time, Flat Dog was able to lay eggs without a mate and this was considered a miracle/divine intervention. ^^
Harlan then took the eggs and displayed them in the hotel lobby, however his 8yo son get mad at Harlan one day and took a croquet mallet to the display case and smashed all of the miracle eggs.
Local legend says that after this, the town learned that Harlan was basically creating a cult, and ran him out of town and in the confusion, Flat Dog escaped into the local estuary.
But the grandson of Harlan said that Flat Dog killed and ate Harlan for the disrespectful act and later killed Harlan’s son once he became an adult and tried to hunt down Flat Dog in vengeance for killing his father.

That’s the basic back story to this film and I LOVE IT! Imagine it as its own stand alone movie (just get rid of the historical inaccuracies) set in the early 1900s just before the King Tut craze!
Just some dude getting a giant croc and doing some lines, turning to his sone and saying “you know what, that’s an avatar.”
I like it and give it a thumbs up.

Author notes:
*Movie says that what happened to Harlan occurred 96 years ago and the movie is set to 2000 so 2000 - 96 = 1904).
**Wikipedia says Sobek is a dude, but the film keeps calling him a her so whatever ghoulie; big croc with bad temper is the important message here, ghoul.
^^I’ve tried to find if Nile crocs are capable of parthenogenesis like Komodo dragons or if they can perform long-term-sperm-storage. I found no research that confirms if either biological function occurs in female Nile crocs.
I did learn though that female Nile crocs used to form communal nests in the wild, but it hasn’t been observed since 1952 in Uganda’s Ntoroko peninsula.
Apparently human disturbance contributed to isolated nesting (at least from what I understood).
My phone and tumblr and having a disagreement right now, so I can’t add links of my half way done research into this post (I’m not Roanoke Games) - so here’s a screen shot of the links I used:
