I can imagine Diluc and Kaeya might end up crying on Dear Theodosia part especially the 'My father wasn't around' part. Technically, Crepus passed on when they are 18 right? But even though they are 18 they are still too young. Also, that day he passed on ended up with two teenagers with a bigger trauma other than watching their father die.

This brings me to another question, in this AU we have Bennett as Philip Jr and Klee as Angelica Hamilton (the baby sister), so, who's going to play Theodosia?

On the subject of Theodosia as well, the song 'Wait for it' (Aaron Burr's theme) can we just imagine Kaeya in the center of the stage all dark singing his heart out reveling all his memories from being abandoned to being adopted to being kicked out and now being the Calvary Captain.

The line 'love doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints' for sure it will make him remember Diluc and Crepus and the whole of Mondstadt and that's just wholesome but the last line of the song 'if there's a reason I'm still alive when so many have died, I'm willing to wait for it' it's gonna be heart breaking.

Why heartbreaking? If you break the line and piece is again it means like this:

'If there's a reason I'm still alive'- His mission as a spy. 'When so many have died'- Crepus and Khaen'riah's death 'I'm willing to wait for it'- As what Mona said in her profile, she said that one day Kaeya's destiny will catch on to him. Meaning, even though he confessed to being a spy and stopped it, that role of his will be revealed to everyone and might cause his downfall or even the end of his life.

The final lines will probably have him standing in front of the stage, sadly whispering 'I'm willing to wait for it' because he knew it's gonna happen whether he prevent it or not.

Going back to Dear Theodosia though, Theodosia wasn't in the play unless you count Theodosia reprise...who's gonna play Theodosia?

Traveler as John Laurens really fits cause John Laurens in the play is very helpful and willing to duel just to prove Hamilton's point. I really love John Laurens and then The Laurens Interlude part of the play.

I can imagine the traveler singing it with everyone's eyes just on them even those who are on stage (Diluc, Jean and Kaeya) cause Traveler goes around to fight basically everyone including archons which means no matter what the situation is they are always one foot on the grave.

One day they might passed on and a letter just like that will be sent to those who they fought with in their journey and if that time ever comes, it might be one of the darkest days in Teyvat's history.

I hadn't slept in a week – I was weak, I was awake. You've never seen a bastard orphan more in need of a break. Between longing for Jean and I was missing my wife – that's when Miss Donna Reynolds walked into my life.

The girl said, " Mr Ragnvindr, I know you are a man of honor. I'm so sorry to bother you at home, but I don't know where to go, and I came here all alone."

Reynolds added, "My husband's doin' me wrong. He's been beatin' me, cheatin' on me, and mistreatin' me. But suddenly he's up and gone, and I don't have the means to go on."

I sighed. The Reynolds family was a notoriously broken one – James Reynolds was a gambler and a drunkard, a wife beater, even. Donna Reynolds took the brunt of it all.

Therefore, I offered her a loan and offered to walk her home – I was luckily she lived close by, otherwise I wouldn't have offered in lieu of the mountains of paperwork that welcomed me in my abode. Once we were out on the streets, Donna tapped my shoulder.

"Yes?"

"Oh, nothing – you're too kind, sir."

I felt a deep pity for her life, and gave her thirty bucks that I had kept away.

"I live a block away," she said. "This one's mine, sir."

On my account, I wish I could say that was the last time – I know, I said that last time, but it became a pastime. A month into this endeavor with Donna, I received a letter from a Mr. James Reynolds, even better. It said:

"Dear Sir, I hope this letter finds you in good health And in a prosperous enough position to put wealth In the pockets of people like me down on their luck You see, that was my wife who you decided to-"

"So was your whole story a setup?" I asked angrily, throwing the letter into her face.

"I don't know about any letter!"

"Stop crying, archons, dammit, get up!"

"I didn't know any better!"

"I am ruined! My career is ruined." I wanted to tear my hair out in that moment.

"Please, don't leave me with him helpless!" Donna was sobbing into my lap.

"I am helpless, how could I do this?"

"Diluc, please – just give him what he wants and you can have me!" I don't want you.

"Whatever you want, if you pay, you can stay! Please!"

Barbatos, show me how to say no to this. I don't know how to say no to this.

But this situation's helpless, right? Who am I to deny a person in need?

"There is nowhere I can go!" Donna cried. I couldn't think straight anymore, and I kissed the girl on my lap.

To tell you the truth, when her body's on mine, I don't say no. I can't say no.

"So?" James Reynolds smirked, in my mind. I could picture that gleeful grin of that man when I give him the money.

notes: this is a fem reader story. reader has a sister named Emma. This is a story inspired by Eliza Schuyler/Hamilton and Alexander Hamilton's love story (the musical made me think a lot h) also contains swearing!

"yOO!" Itto shouted as he entered the mid-silenced ballroom.

I turn around in curiosity.

Jesus Christ, he was hot.

I want him all to myself. I usually don't give in to these kinds of offers from the universe, but this opportunity is too good to pass by.

I approach him, hands trembling. My father always tells me I'm graceful in my acts. My heels clank on the floor, making a slight tick sound. I've been an extrovert all my life. Being the eldest sister, I have to make sure that I, and my siblings, have a secured future.

I'm behind him. "Hey, someone's behind you." His friend says. He turns around.

His smile is golden. Eyes of crimson staring into my soul.

"Hello, beautiful." He greets me with a smile. I can feel myself starting to turn red.

Stop

I must compose myself.

"Hello, Mister. Nice to meet you. My name is {name} {last name}."

"I'm Arataki Itto. Ever heard of the Arataki gang?"

"My! It's a really famous topic around here!"

"Really?"

"No."

God, he's funny. He knows how to make me laugh. He also mentions he's poor. What would Father think of this? Would he think I'm a disgrace by loving a poor boy? I don't know, and I don't want to know.

"So, you collect....beetles?" I asked him. I was still in shock that the said beetles doesn't harm him.

"I do collect beetles! They don't harm me, don't worry!" He spoke up, followed by a laugh. He's so cute. His lips look tasty. His red horns are the hottest thing I've seen.

"Hey, look. Someone's looking toward us. Jealous maybe?" He laughed. His soothing voice snapped me out of my trance.

Emma is staring at us with sparkles in her eyes. Is she staring at me? No. She's staring at him. I panic. Do I have to hand him over? Please, I don't want to do it. He's smiling widely as she stares at him in awe. Please. God, no. She gestures me to go to her. I walk toward her, heart pounding.

"{name}.." She whispers to me as she clings onto my arm.

"Yes, Emma?" I asked her, terrified.

"I-, uh. The guy you're talking to. He's amazing. He's so cute. I-I want him. Can you help me, please?" She begged.

I sighed. I didn't know what to say. I wasn't ready to hand him over. I still haven't gotten my time with him yet. I loved him. I wanted him all to myself so fucking bad. What would she think of me if I declined? Would she think I'm a selfish sister for putting myself first? Would she think that I was a slut begging to be fucked? I didn't know what to respond with. I kept on looking everywhere besides her deep brown eyes. She waited patiently, Itto talking faintly behind.

"Alright" I look back up at her. What have I done? I loved my sister too much. I knew that if I chose him over her happiness, I'd be the worst sister ever. I wasn't sure of my decision, but seeing her eyes light up at my response made me feel a bit better.

Her smile went from ear to ear. The tips going pink due to the cold weather.

I walk over to Itto who is chatting to his friends about something. I tap him lightly on the shoulder. He turns around. I see a slight blush painted across his face.

"Been drinking?" I ask him with a smirk.

"You know it!" He responds. His eyes shimmering. He's so beautiful. I unconsciously start staring at him.

"Done staring, gorgeous?" I blush at the nickname he gave me.

"Y-Yes." I speak up. He giggles at me. I'd break every single law just to be with this man. Hell, he's breaking all the laws by being this hot.

"I'd like to introduce you to somebody." I look at his eyes with a soft smile, trying to make him feel comfortable around my presence.

"Alright! Lead the way." I slightly nod, turning around and making my way to Emma who is holding a cup of something in her right hand, and tucking her loose hair with her left. I look at Itto who is standing beside me. His eyes seem,, normal. I sigh in my head. He isn't falling for Emma! Maybe he thinks she isn't pretty! Or she's boring and ug-!

Why am I thinking such things? Especially since she's my sister! I slightly shake my head trying to make the rude thoughts go away. I shake it ever so slightly that Itto wouldn't notice.

We arrive at the table Emma is sitting at. I tap her lightly on the shoulder. She turns around and her eyes immediately glue onto his. She's turning red like a fucking tomato. Itto smiles at her. I feel sick. I slightly hit him with my elbow, gesturing him to introduce himself.

"O-Oh! Right!" He scratches the back of his neck.

"I'm Arataki Itto! Founder AND leader of the Arataki gang! Nice to meet you...?" Itto trails off for her to finish.

"Emma. Emma {last name}." She bows, pinching ends of her dress.

"{last name}?" He looks towards me.

"She's my sister" I giggled.

"OHHHHH! So you two pretty ladies are related?"

She nods.

"I see, I see" He nods his head after learning the new information.

I never wanted to look down on my sister or put her in a bad light. But the fact that he finds her "pretty" makes me want to cry and puke in despair. He might choose her over me. I can't always be the number one at everything. But I want to be his number one. I met him first. I let him meet her. I want him for myself. My mind trails off and I somehow can't hear their conversation anymore. All I hear are my thoughts. My never ending train of thoughts. I look up to see Emma laughing, and Itto smiling and talking.

At this moment, my Father would always tell me "Be happy for them! Soon it'll be your time!". It's never my time. A disadvantage of being the eldest sister is that I don't have time for myself. I always have to give something that I have to them, who wants it as well. Cause if I don't, I'll be considered mean, ignorant, arrogant, selfish, rude, and all those mean stuff. This was a perfect example. I want him, but because of me being the eldest, I have to give him away? All my life, I had to give things I wanted to my younger siblings, cause "soon it'll be my time!".

I'm tired of always being the backbone. I'm tired of being pressured, forced, stared at, looked up at. It's tiring. One wrong move and you. will. blow. And them? They will laugh and leave your life, perceiving you as a fucking failure. Not once will they look at you again and go, "another chance?".

I almost start to cry until Itto's voice becomes louder than usual, stopping my train of thought.

A soothing, slow, and calm music starts to play. Fucking ballroom music.

"What perfect timing!" Itto laughs and looks at the pairs that are gathering in the middle.

"Care to join me, gorgeous?" He reached his hand out for her to put it on top.

I nearly gag. He called her my nickname.

Emma takes his hand delightfully.

I decide to wipe off any negative look off of my face to avoid any problems. I stand at the front row of the circle surrounding the middle dancing area. I watch as Itto puts one of his hands on her waist, the other one holding onto her hand. Emma puts one of her hands on his shoulder and the other holding his. He gives a slight nod. They both start dancing to the music gracefully. That was one thing Emma did better than me. Dancing. I also had another thought,, how was he so good at ballroom dancing? He looks like the type to know nothing! I was wrong.

A few minutes pass by, and they're still dancing to the same song. I see them talk to each other, mouths opening and closing. I look at Itto from time to time, and he looks back. And when he does, I give him a soft smile and wave. He slightly nods. Sometimes, he just looks away with blush spreading across his cheeks. I laugh at him and he laughs back.

The music suddenly changes. The music gets a tiny bit faster, making the dancers, including Itto and Emma, dance faster. After a few minutes, he looks at her eyes, which are staring right back at him. He leans in, kissing her gently on the lips as they move to the rhythm of the music. The people are cheering.

At that moment, I knew, that I had finally lost him. He was hers now. All for her to enjoy and cherish. I was nothing to him. He would treat me the same. But he would treat her differently. He would look at me and her in a different light.

All my hard work, down the drain. She would be credited.

They stopped dancing, and just focused on the kiss. Everyone around them stopped dancing, and started cheering as well. Itto breaks the kiss, putting their foreheads together. A tear falls down my face.

I've had enough.

I lower my head and start running to the exit. Tears are still streaming down my face. My heart broke into pieces. The butler at the door was curious, wondering why I was rushing out.

"Just fucking open it!" I shouted while still looking down. My loud voice echoed through-out the whole entire room, which was really big. Everyone stared at me, especially Itto and Emma. They looked at each other before rushing to me. The butler hurriedly opened the door, as I rushed outside. It's raining. I didn't care. I will never care.

I run in the rain as I take my heels off, running barefoot. I don't know if it's my tears or raindrops falling down from my face. Either way, I'm wet all over.

Itto tries to chase after me, but Emma takes his arm.

"It's no use. She'll never come back." She told him as they watch me run away. Everyone inside has settled, but they still stand outside. Waiting for me. After a few minutes, Emma goes in. Asking him to go inside as well. He says no and still stays. She goes in before he does. I watch him stand by the entrance as I am now sitting at a park that's pretty far away from the gathering. The light is bright, helping me see him. It's still raining. 3 minutes pass by and he sits down on the steps. The butler asks him if he's alright, if he could get him anything. He declines and goes back to waiting. Maybe he really does care.

My heart gets stabbed with a knife as I see him stand up and go inside. Looking out before going in fully. Maybe he never loved me? Maybe it was just me. It may sound like I'm making myself the main character, but wouldn't you also feel destroyed if they left you? It feels like life is draining the hope and love out of you.

I start to cry even harder as the rain gets even stronger. I pick up my heels and start walking. I see Itto in the window, drinking with his friends. Emma's at his side, drinking as well. She doesn't usually drink..?

I regret everything. I regret meeting him. I regret agreeing to her. I regret everything. Maybe I should've just shut up. Maybe I should've just left when I could. But it's all been done. He's hers, and She's his. What a fairytale!

I'll never forget the first time I saw him. I'll never forget the first look we exchanged. I'll never forget the first joke, laugh, and smile he gave me. I'll never forget the time he was mine. Maybe giving him to my sister wasn't that bad? I don't know, and I don't want to know.

I walk in silence and darkness, waiting for day to appear. Finally feeling some kind of peace in me.

“un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf.” you recited, fingers dancing on your beloved piano.

“un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf.” bennett repeated, copying your hands.

“good.” you placed your fingers gently on the ivory keys, your son following suit as he gingerly laid his fingertips on top of the back of your hand.

“un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, sept, huit, neuf.” you hummed, your melody descending this time. these numbers were familiar on the tip of your tongue, having recited them to your dear bennett since he could talk.

“un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq, six, se-pt, huit, neuf!” your darling son chorused. every morning, without fail, you would put your hands on his and he would change the melody every time. it had started out as a mischievous action at first, but you quickly found it endearing.

“sept, huit, neuf.” you corrected.

“se-pt, huit, neuf?”

“sept, huit, neuf.”

“se-pt, huit, neuf!”

diluc sat tiredly in his study, his quill and ink set laid out as if he was rushing to get something done.

My dearest, Jean.

Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day. I trust you'll understand the reference to another Scottish tragedy, without me having to name the play. They think me Macbeth, ambition is my folly: I'm a polymath, a pain in the ass; I’m a massive pain. Harvey is Banquo. Cyrus is Macduff, and the Council on its way to Dunsinane. And there you are an ocean away… Do you have to live an ocean away? Thoughts of you subside, then I get another letter, and I cannot put the notion away.

My wife and Bennett are doing alright. (Y/N) misses you, as usual — she asked how you were the other day.

he laid his quill down exhaustedly.

you rapped your hand on the door once, that all-too-familiar routine of having to break your husband’s train of working and pushing himself to the limit constantly. rap, rap, wait for him to open the door with a smile on his face but today you hear absolutely nothing. you gently pushed his study door open.

“diluc, come and take a break. there’s a little surprise before supper and it cannot wait!” you smiled, glee evident in your voice as you put your hands on his shoulders.

“i’ll be there in just a minute, save my plate.” he rested his head on your hand, the sound of his tired exhales filling the silence of the office.

“diluc..”

“okay, okay.” diluc rose from his seat and stretched, taking your hand and allowing himself to be led downstairs by you.

“bennett is nine years old today, and he has something that he’d like to say. he’s been practicing all day…” you added, cheerfully sending your nervous son comforting smiles. bennett had really practiced all day — you wondered how busy diluc was in order to not notice the little boy practising his poem around the house since morning.

“bennett, take it away.” you chuckled. putting your hand to your mouth, you pretended to beatbox to the rhythm of your son’s present.

“daddy, daddy, look! my name’s bennett, i am a poet, and i wrote this poem just to show it! and i.. i just turned nine — you can write rhymes but you can’t write mine!”

diluc laughed, entertained by your son’s antics.

“what?!”

“i practice french and play piano with my mother, i’ve got a sister but i want a little brother—“

“wha- okay!” came your husband’s reply, a light flush colouring his face; he was absolutely floored by his boy’s comment.

“my daddy’s trying to start mondstadt’s bank — un, deux, trois, quatre, cinq!” bennett cheered, proud of himself for his craft.

“bravo!” diluc clapped, a grin as bright as the sun found on his face. the nine year old ran to hug his father and back upstairs — he truly was a copy of his redheaded father, wasn’t he?

“take a break?“ you laid your head on his shoulders, gently kissing his temple.

“hey, our kid is pretty great.”

“how about running away with us for summer break? we could go upstate.” you suggested. you had received a letter from your darling father a week ago, pleading for you to join him back upstate, back at your family manor.

“darling, i have so much on my plate-“

“we could all go stay with my father. diluc, please! there’s a lake i know, in a nearby park-“

“(Y/N), you know i’d love to go.”

“you and i could go when it gets dark!” you replied, blinking back tears. it had been years since he had spent any time outside of the little circle of shops and people and war and army he interacted with. why was diluc so damned stubborn — archons, it wouldn’t kill him to just take a break.

diluc grabbed your hands and squeezed them gently. he hated disappointing you, of course — what greater pain could he be in than seeing you upset over something that he could control, but chose not to? his work had to come first.

he knew that you’d understand the worth of his hands’ work.

My dearest Diluc, you must get through to Cyrus. Sit down with him and compromise — don’t stop til you agree. Your favourite older sister, Jean reminds you, there’s someone in your corner all away across the sea.

In a letter I received from you two weeks ago, I noticed a comma in the middle of your phrase. It changed the meaning, did you intend this? One stroke, and you’ve consumed my waking days. It says:

“My dearest, Jean.”

With a comma after dearest. You’ve written “My dearest, Jean.”

Anyways, all this to say I’m coming home this summer, at my sister’s invitation. I’ll be there with your family if you make your way upstate. I know you’re very busy, and that your work is important, but I’m crossing the ocean and I just can’t wait! Finally, you won’t be an ocean away, you’ll only be a moment away…

“diluc! come downstairs, jean’s arriving today!” your infectious energy had been spreading throughout the manor the past week, and a glimpse of a smile was finally shown on your husband’s face.

“jean!” you ran into your sister’s arms, a loud whoop resounding as you took in the sight of your darling jean.

“(y/n).” the blonde smiled warmly, setting down her baggage and kissing you on the cheek.

“the gunnhildrs are reunited at last.” diluc chuckled, picking up jean’s bags.

“diluc.” jean greeted, the man replying with a soft ‘hi’, not wanting to break the precious moment between you two.

“it’s good to see your face.”

“jean, please tell him that even barbatos spends summers with his family.” you pleaded, sending a cheeky smile to your husband as he wrapped his arm around you.

“jean, tell my wife that barbatos doesn’t have a real job anyway.” he retaliated.

“you’re not joining us, wait?”

“i’m sorry ladies — i’m afraid i cannot join you upstate.” diluc exhaled tiredly. you brought your hand to the nape of his neck and started to massage his sore area.

“but diluc, i came all this way; surely you can reconsider?” jean turned to him, disappointment evident.

“i’ll lose my job if i don’t get this plan through Congress. i’m sorry, ladies. i can’t stop til i get this plan to Congress.” diluc replied, kissing you on the forehead. disappointing you felt so much more painful that losing his career.

but he knew that he had spent his whole life building it, and as much as he loved you, he wasn’t going to risk it all for a simple summer. recounting it in his head made it hurt even more.
