James and Lily together made lots of people happy. Most of the school expected them to end up together at some point. After so much they went through. So their new relationship was the hottest news. There were cheers and congratulations from students and teachers.

Of course not everyone was happy. Snape had ran away from the Great Hall as quickly as he could, looking mortified. Some envious girls that used to be after James looked jealous. Other Slytherins simply didn't care.

But most Gryffindors were happy for their Head Boy and Head Girl. Especially their friends who had seen mutual pinning from both parts.

So Remus didn't understand why Marlene looked sentimental and was quiet.

"Everything okay, Marly?" he asked wrapping his arms around her from behind.

"I love James and Lily, and I am happy for them. But I am angry that for everyone that is normal" she sighed pointing at the new couple "You know, boy and girl... But when Dorcas and I got together everyone thought we were some crazy girls having a phase. They still think that we will eventually marry some blokes when we are done with these 'nonsense'"

Remus, being gay himself, and trans (aka different from what was expected), understood perfectly what his friend was saying. He had recently come out to his friend group and although they were supportive, Remus knew what the rest thought.

Plus, he knew he could never be with the boy he fancied that way. Even if Sirius had kissed him. It would be harder even to be open like James and Lily. Or even admit their feelings like them. Sirius had asked him for time to figure things out. With girls, Sirius had been open to snog them in front of everyone though.

"This bloody society sucks, doesn't it?" Remus commented with sorrow.

"Yeah" And Marlene was the same. Cause even if she and Dorcas were happy together, they were always going to be criticized. Stupid Homophobia.

"But I am with you, you know?" Remus whispered in her ear "I think you and Dorcas are cute together. And I am happy that you are happy with her"

"Thank you, Remus" Marlene gave him a sweet smile and a kiss on the cheek "You are adorable" and a chin squeeze "I am pretty sure any bloke would be lucky to have you"

Remus's eyes immediately went to Sirius, almost unconsciously.

"Thanks Marly" he hugged her tighter. "Gay power?" he asked showing her his fist.

Marlene smiled "Gay power" she hit his fist.

At least Remus was glad to have queer friends who knew his struggle.

They are hanging out at lovers lake on a camping trip with Steve, Jonathan and a few of the kids who are all fast fast asleep at this point. Argyle knows that Eddie likes Steve and gives him advice on how to approach him. Eddie jokes about him liking Jonathan to which Argyle blushes and laughs eventually confessing his crush. Meanwhile Steve and Jonathan are having the same conversation over a few drinks and decide to ask their crushes out together.

Sunday in the coffee shop with Lew.

Saturday was of magic. An impromptu dinner party became a raging success. Roberta, Doug, Kevin, Ken Rains and Dennis enjoyed cool Sacramento summer evening. Wine, steak, laughter, candles and incense and brotherhood . The gays and bi's must take this discrimination seriously and not be like the Jews in WWII and just lay down. We gotta bind together and support one another through our dinner parties and giving. For example, earlier in the day Doug, Kevin, Roberta and I had visited with Ken  at his crystal shop. I had mentioned to him that I might be interested in purchasing one ,  their beauty being entrancing, I found one right for me. He said “It’s $100, but for you, $50.”  So, I wrote out a check. Then, later, at the dinner party, he returned the check and he said (I had just done some free legal work for him) “ I just could not feel right about taking money for this. I wanna keep the flow going. (eg: his service for mine) and, with that, he handed me back the check. And, I got chills up and down my spine. The intuitive meaning was clear.) We must give and take and support each other  and be friends and not just sex objects to each other. In a world in which anything goes, consistency is still very important. A solidness. Like, my friendship with Doug, now 8 1/2 years in length, just four months younger than you, diary. A constant of this span of life.

I was having lunch in a brasserie in Lille today. So, in these types of restaurants you're sitting right next to the other customers and basically share the same tables so you can hear everyone's conversations around you.

This older gentleman (about 70yo) was sitting across from me, he was chatting with his friends and at some point said: ''When I was younger, I fell in love with my teacher. Had a sore bum for 2 weeks.''
