"You are being stupid and reckless"
For your Chicago fire family! ❤️
Tumblr media
“You are being stupid and reckless,” Matt Casey ground out through clenched teeth as he tightened his grip on your forearms. He turned then as you struggled futilely against him, dipping his head dangerously low in the direction of Gabby, Stella and Sylvie, who were snickering in a corner of the bar. “All four of you!”
Stella snorted, practically doubling over Sylvie. “What?” she called out, her words slurred. “Can’t handle as much drink as us?”
“Lightweights!” Gabby.
“Pussies!” Sylvie.
“I want a baby koaaaala!” you lilted, manging to wrench free and toppling back against Kelly, who’d stood from his bar stool the moment Antonio Dawson had entered Molly’s with you, Gabby, Stella and Sylvie trailing in front of him, your arms linked together like schoolchildren as you attempted to keep each other up. Apparently, Matt’s hesitation about agreeing to let the older ladies take his younger sister on her first pub crawl had been well suited. Not a single member of Firehouse 51 had ever seen you so...out of sorts.
“Wohoah, there! Slow down, madcap.” Kelly couldn’t help the grin that appeared on his face, an unfamiliar blend of both amusement and shock, as he caught your flailing arms. You seemed intent on getting to the ladies in the corner, reaching a hand out towards them like some crazed zombie.
“Hey, hey, Kidd!” As had been customary since the moment Stella joined 51, both she and you turned at what could have been either her last name or your pet name. Neither of you seemed to be in an answering mood, however. Hermann expertly slid across the bar table and grabbed the beer bottles that Stella had seemingly sprung from mid-air. “No more alcohol for you! Your livers’ll thank me for it later.”
“How much did you even drink?” Otis asked. His brows were raised so high they almost touched his hairline as he glanced between the last four women he’d expected to see this intoxicated.
“Oh,” Sylvie said with a laugh, “a lot. And I mean a lot, a lot.”
“A lot,” Stella mirrored.
“Like...a lot,” Gabby agreed with a defining nod, taking a step to the left and almost tripping over thin air before Otis leapt forward to catch her.
Matt’s expression was one of absolute displeasure, paired with a mortifyingly sinking feeling in his chest. He turned towards Antonio, who was still stood by Molly’s entrance, hands on his hips while he watched the situation unfold with what could only be intrigue.
“Antonio.” Matt threw his arms up in the air, defeated. “What can I say?”
Antonio shook his head and moved forward. “Look, man, I’m just as embarrassed over Gabby as you.” He opened his mouth to continue before sparing a quick glance at you, intoxicatingly determined to escape Kelly’s hold and grab his unfinished beer on the bar table. Kelly was clearly having difficulty figuring out whether he should be pissed or amused that the girl he’d helped raise was drunk out of her mind for the first time in her life. Later in the evening, when they brought you all home and put you to bed, they’d laugh about it until their sides hurt. For now, it seemed Matt was the adult in the situation.
“Has she ever had this much to drink?” Antonio asked, jerking a thumb in your direction.
Matt ran a hand down his face. “She rarely touches the stuff. To say I’m surprised is a...nauseous understatement. Where’d you say you found them?”
“Just down the street, on their way back here. Did you know they were going on a pub crawl?”
Before Matt could answer, Gabby and Sylvie stumbled forward, drunken laughter spilling from their lips. Stella had attached herself to Kelly, peppering kisses on his cheek as he attempted to keep both her and you in check.
Gabby stopped uncomfortably close to her brother. “Of course we were going on a pub crawl, Antonio,” she drawled. “The girl’s just turned twenty-one! Not every day that happens.”
“Yeah,” Sylvie piped up, aimlessly pointing a finger at the ceiling. “What’d you think we were gonna do? Sit around Molly’s all night for a tame evening of karaoke and board games? Hell no! That’s what the boys are here for!”
That had indeed been what the boys were here for. After shift, they’d met up at Molly’s to close it to the public and decorate the place in time for your birthday party that evening. 51 had had a great few hours together, but eventually Gabby had suggested she, Stella and Sylvie take you out for your first birthday pup crawl. Of course, the guys had insisted they join in, but the ladies had demanded that this was a girls’ night only, and you’d be back later to re-join the party. That had seemed a little unrealistic—Matt and Kelly knew all too well their girlfriends’ party potential—but every member of the family had subconsciously stuck around Molly’s to see that it came to pass, each one ready with a list of Chicago pubs in case you didn’t return by midnight.
Mouch gestured to the birthday cake, sent by Mills with the promise he’d come visit soon. “Have some cake, Y/N, it’s divine.”
“Oh, we’ve already had some,” Sylvie interrupted as she waved her hand in disinterest.
“Pink Moon were selling slices, three for the price of one,” Stella said, draping her arms around Kelly’s neck. “We got, like, six portions.”
“Seven,” Gabby corrected.
“Seven portions.”
“Hey, hey, get this!” Your stammering words broke above the discreet conversations echoing around the bar. You seemed to have tired of struggling, one hand grasping the wrist of Kelly’s arm wrapped around your waist to keep her steady. Still, you were in high spirits, your head lolling around as you grinned. “A police detective picks up four drunk girls from a pub, then brings them back to safety...at another pub. Suuuch a hypocrite, Tony.”
Antonio turned a dark glare on Gabby, who seemed to sober up for the briefest of seconds.
“I did not teach her that nickname,” she asserted, not at all assertedly.
“Yeah, okay.” Antonio’s words were laced with exhaustion as he shook his head at his sister’s lies and turned back to those he could actually trust. “Matt, are you good here?”
“I am if you are.” Matt glanced over his shoulder and nodded towards the firefighters behind him, each one obviously willing to help if the need happened to arise. That is, if you and the others were too much trouble for Matt and Kelly to handle alone, which they couldn’t honestly attest to just yet considering the unfamiliar grounds they were currently toeing.
Antonio nodded and stepped back towards the door. He made a show of pointing a finger between all four drunkards. “Let this be the first and last time I bring you home to the adults while I’m off shift, ladies,” he warned. “That includes you, Gabriela. Be more careful.”
“You got it, bro.”
When Antonio left, the slightest sliver of a smile on his lips caught Matt’s eyes before he disappeared around the corner. He brushed it off and returned his attention to the situation at hand. “Okay,” he said firmly, in a tone you often called his ‘lieutenant-y alderman voice’, “I think it’s time we head home.”
Your mouth fell wide open in absolute disbelief as you hung limply over Kelly’s arm. “Uh, no!”
“It’s her twenty-first birthday!” Gabby yelled, slapping Hermann’s hand when he came to see if she needed help. Hermann immediately put his palms up and turned to walk off, way too incapable of dealing with a drunk woman at a time like this.
“Don’t be such pussies!” Sylvie agreed as Cruz crossed his arms beside her.
Arms draped around Kelly, Stella’s whining joined the protests. “Let us have fuuuun!”
“Oho, you’ve clearly had enough fun,” Boden spoke up from the back around his obvious amusement, quite unexpectedly really considering he’d been quiet since at his table with Capp and Tony. At the drunk glare each of you sent his way, he conveniently turned to his drink, snickering into the glass.
“Ugh.” Sylvie put a hand to her head. “I need air. Can you guys—”
With a strength most unbefitting of someone who’d stumbled into the pub not long ago, you finally escaped Kelly’s hold with a loud: “coming!”
Concern filled each member of firehouse 51′s gaze as the four of you clambered out of Molly’s. Once the doors shut and the muffled sound of loud laughter filled the tense silence of the pub, Kelly turned to the crowd, the first fragment of apprehension appearing on his face. “Should someone go with them?”
Outside, you, Stella, Gabby and Sylvie were in utter hysterics for reasons entirely against what one might assume, had they been in your presence for the past five minutes.
“I can’t believe—” Gabby was bent over from the exertion of her laughter, one hand on her knee and the other grabbing onto Sylvie for support— “you sure you’ve never been drunk before?”
You pressed your lips together in an attempt to keep from bursting once again. “I’m just a seriously good actor,” you said, then lost the battle and snorted.
Sylvie rubbed at her eyes, wiping away the tears. “Did you see the guys’ faces?”
“Never mind their faces,” Stella gasped, leaning against a lamppost for support. “Did you see Kelly when you went for his beer? Aw, man. This is exactly what we needed.”
You held up a finger. “This is exactly the payback we needed,” you amended. “They better never put toothpaste in my oreos again.”
“And in the donuts,” Stella added. “No one messes with a firefighter’s breakfast donuts.”
“They know what’ll happen if they put clear nail varnish on my soap bar again,” Gabby said.
“And if they ever put a live spider on the kitchen counter again...” Sylvie let the threat hang in the air just as you all burst into laughter once more. It had, of course, been a ruse. A clever one at that. If the guys had truly believed they could get away with pranking the four of you on April Fool’s Day without some sort of retribution, even if it came a few weeks later, then most sane people would be urging them to retake their mental fitness exam. You had been pondering over it for multiple shifts, figuring out what would draw the best reactions from the guys, and had eventually dwindled it down to this with great, great satisfaction. Because what could possibly boil a guy’s blood more than seeing their little girl completely, utterly intoxicated? And what could possibly feel better than having the guys dote on you the next morning while you ‘recovered’ from your ‘hangover’?
“I just can’t believe you actually got my brother in on it too,” Gabby admitted. She slung an arm around your shoulders and drew you into a side-hug. “He’s such a spoilsport, he would’ve turned me down immediately.”
You shrugged. “I told you I had a special charm.”
“He should’ve stayed for a drink,” Stella said.
Gabby scoffed. “Oh, that guy can’t play a prank to save his life. He left so he didn’t burst into laughter and give it away.” She suddenly swayed, her cheeks puffing up as the world’s orbit seemed to become that bit more obvious. “Ooh. Okay, I know we didn’t have that much to drink…”
“But we still drank,” Sylvie finished, swallowing down a thickness in her throat, “yep. I feel it too.”
You were standing pretty on two drinks, one from each of the pubs you’d pitifully crawled past before the anticipation of your prank to come had dulled your appetite for wine. Gabby, Stella (especially Stella) and Sylvie had obviously drank more in those two pubs, hence why their dramatics weren’t entirely dramatics, but you had based your performance entirely on the notes you’d mentally taken over the past years as you watched drunk men enter and leave Molly’s.
“Oh, oh, shit, abort,” Gabby hissed. You turned to see movement at the door. At the sound of it swinging open as Matt, Kelly and Cruz came out, supposedly to take you home, you put those notes to good use once more.
“Gabby! Stel! Sylvieeee!” you whined, hanging onto the others. “Why can’t I have a baby koala?”
“I’m gonna puke again!” Sylvie shrieked.
“I literally might faint,” Stella said airily, a hand against her forehead.
Gabby pretended to collapse. “My head feels like a construction zone!”
The guys, including Kelly, looked horrified, well aware they were in for a night and a half.
Payback was sweet.

~~~~~~~~~~
You and Matt have been married for three years. Despite once being in a relationship with Matt, you quickly befriended Gabby when you were her partner on 61. Now, Gabby is a firefighter under Matt and you are partnered up with Brett. Through all of the awkward moments between you and Gabby when it comes to Matt, you are still best friends. Gabby was one of your biggest supporters when you were pregnant with y/s/n. You and Matt had recently broken it off because of his alderman duties when you started getting violently sick. As your roommate and fellow paramedic, Gabby was obviously very concerned until she connected the dots.
Now, a little over three years later, you and Matt are married with a baby girl on the way. The morning sickness has definitely been the worst during this pregnancy, but Matt, Gabby, Kelly, Brett, and Stella have been nothing but supportive. As of right now, you are laying in Matt’s office with a trash can by his cot while Brett and Gabby are trying to calm you down as Matt rushes around to grab a few things. Kelly finds Matt pacing in the locker room, running his hands through his hair.
“Woah man. What’s wrong?” Kelly asks, coming to stop Matt and try to calm his best friend.
“God Sev.” Matt mutters, tears threatening to spill. “She is just so sick and I hate seeing her like this. I mean, I was talking to Gabby the other day and I don’t know.” Matt said, shaking his head and lowering himself to a seat on one of the benches.
Kelly sighed as he lowered himself to the bench beside his best friend. “You don’t have to be afraid Matt. You are already such a good husband and father. Adding one more will be a piece of cake.” Kelly soothed, patting Matt on the back.
Matt shook his head. “I never really had a father figure growing up. I’m scared I’m going to mess up and they are going to leave. Gabby tried to talk me down too and nothing…”
“Excuse me?” You croaked, leaning heavily on Brett as she helped steady you on the way to the bathroom while Gabby stayed behind to change Matt’s sheets.
“Y/n.” Matt sighed, standing slowly and coming over to you.
“No. You talked to Gabby and Kelly, but not your own wife? The mother of your TWO children!” You exclaimed, starting to shake as you began to yell.
“Baby. It’s not like that at all.” Matt plead, hands out to steady you, but you tumbled back, only being caught by Brett.
“You don’t get to be scared Matt Casey.” You whispered. “You and I are suppose to be in this together. I’m terrified every single moment since I’ve been pregnant. You know I have a fear of vomiting, yet I go through this because I love you and I love y/s/n and I want him to have a sibling.” You wept, closing your eyes as the world stared to tilt.
“Y/n!” Matt, Kelly, and Brett yelled.
You pushed back at Matt when he tried to touch you, letting Brett and Kelly lower you to the floor.
“Go get a sick bag, a water, and Gabby. Have her bring the go bag.” Brett said, feeling for your pulse.
“Shhhh. Breathe.” Kelly instructed, taking your face in his hands. “Everything will be just fine.”
“What if he leaves?” You sobbed, grabbing onto Kelly for dear life. “I need him. I’m just really hurt that he won’t talk to me but I need him.” You sobbed, not realizing that Matt was standing behind the three of you as he waited for Gabby clutching a sick bag and a bottle of water.
“Baby, no.” Matt whispered, coming to crouch in front of you, handing what he had off to Kelly. “Yeah, I’m scared and yes, I should have talked to you. But understand this: I. Am. Not. Going. Anywhere.” Matt emphasized, looking you dead in the eyes. “Both Gabby and Kelly found me in a panic and that’s why I told them. You are dealing with so much right now and I don’t want you to worry about me too.” Matt explained, wiping the tears from your face as Gabby came in with the go bag, slipping the pulse ox on your finger and the BP cuff on.
“How we doin?” Gabby asked, seeing your heart rate elevated and your oxygen levels at 95.
“Nauseous and dizzy.” You explained, leaning into Matt’s hands as he held your face.
“BP’s low.” Brett announced, grabbing the Iv kit from the bag. “I think you’ve got yourself dehydrated. I’m going to place a line.” Brett said, already prepping your arm.
Your eyes widened as you looked between all of your friends and your husband. “No way. Nope.” You said, trying to stand, but quickly falling back down into Kelly with Matt guiding your decent.
“You aren’t going anywhere. Relax.” Kelly said, squeezing your upper arms.
“Matt, please.” You begged, tears streaming down your face. You were starting to turn grey as the nausea built along with your anxiety.
“Shhh. It’s gonna be alright.” Matt soothed, kissing your forehead before turning to Kelly. “Switch with me. Let me hold her, it normally calms her down. Get the sick bag ready.” Matt instructed, quickly switching with Kelly as the man did what he was instructed to do. Matt sat with you in between his legs so that your back was pushed to his chest. He rested his chin lightly on your shoulder as he whispered in your ear. “Shhhh. It’s for the best. I’m sorry baby. I’m so sorry. I love you. I’ve got you.” Matt whispered as you began hyperventilating from the panic of the rising nausea and the impending IV.
“Look at me. Just look at me.” Kelly said, kneeling in your line of sight. He waited until you opened your eyes to meet his own. Kelly smiled at you as he started breathing in time with Matt. “Just relax. We gotcha. We gotta do what’s best for you and the little princess, right?” Kelly said, smiling wider when you nodded. “That’s right. Just breathe. Follow us and focus on us.” Kelly instructed.
Matt noticed you starting to follow, but saw Brett going in with the needle. Matt and Kelly made eye contact as the needle pinched your skin. Kelly saw your change in color as Matt felt your gasp and then gag harshly.
“Shit. Okay, here sweetheart. Hang in there.” Kelly said, placing the bag under your chin as Matt pulled your hair back once more and held you steady around the torso.
“I’m gonna flush this, then give her some Zofran. We gotta get this under control. You cool with that and then some fluids for her Matt?” Brett asked, flushing the IV as she spoke.
“God yes. Whatever you have to do.” Matt instructed, hating how you were squirming and panting in his lap. You shook like a leaf as Matt held you on the cold tile floor.
“Gabby. Can you run and grab a blanket and a wash rag? She’s shaking like a leaf.” Kelly asked, not daring to move the sick bag too far. You were only panting right now, but you had no color to your face.
“On it!” Gabby replied, hurrying off.
“Alright. You know this might sting just a little. Then I’m gonna flush it and then run the fluids, okay?” Brett warned, speaking directly to you now. Once you nodded, Brett administered the medication and did everything else she said she would do before standing up with the bag of saline.
Gabby came running back in as Brett stood up. You were still shaking, but you felt comfortable enough to push the sick bag away. Once Gabby helped you clean your face and wiped the sweat off of your face, she wrapped the blanket around you. A silent decision was made to move you, so Kelly pulled you up and steadied you until Matt stood back up and picked you up, carrying you back into his office.
You groaned, throwing your head back. “Can someone PLEASE get me some mouth wash or my tooth brush. I can’t take this taste anymore.” You whined, shoving your face into Matt’s neck as he sat with you in his lap on his cot.
You didn’t notice Kelly depart from you guys as the lot of you left for Matt’s office. He came back in seconds later with mouth wash, your tooth brush and tooth paste, another bottle of water and another sick bag. “I figured you would want to get the taste out.” Kelly said, confused at the laughter coming from everyone else.
“Thank God. Someone with some sense.” You muttered sarcastically, making grabby hands for the items.
Matt and Gabby muttered “I beg to differ” at the same time, causing everyone to laugh. God, you couldn’t do this without them.
The sound of the diner door rang through Cassie's ears snapping her out of her trance.
Looking down at the warm coffee she's had her hands cupped around for the last twenty minutes she frowns as she realizes it's grown cold.
"Hey, sorry I'm late." Jay says sliding into the booth across from Cassie.
"Hi, no you're good. No worries," She says with a small smile looking at the man.
For the last five months Jay and Cassie have spent every morning in this diner. Talking, sitting, bonding. Ever since the night Jay found Cassie, he's refused to leave her alone. He's vowed to never let Cassie get to the point again, and if she does it would have to be over his dead body.
It took awhile for Cassie to understand why he would care about her so much. Why he put so much effort into making sure she was okay, but eventually she quit asking questions and let him in.
*5 months ago*
"Do you want to grab a coffee?" Jay asks as he clicked Cassie's floor in the elevator.
"Uh, yeah, I'd like that. But um, how did you know what floor my apartments on?" Cassie asked skeptically looking at Jay.
"Oh, I didn't. I guess we live on the same floor." Jay says with a shy smile.
Cassie followed Jay out of the elevator confused again when he stops outside her apartment.
"Okay, this is getting weird Jay." She says chuckling and nervously rubbing the back of her neck.
"What? Why? This is me," He said unlocking the door to the apartment across from hers.
Rolling her lips into a line out of embarrassment, she pointed at her apartment door and muttered, "This is me..." Earning a snicker from Jay.
Eventually ending up in a small diner down the street from their building, they were both relieved when they saw the 'Open 24 hours' sign in the window.
"So, what were you doing up there?" Jay finally asked taking a sip of his coffee.
Met with silence he took a breath before continuing, "Look, I told you why I went up there. But you never told me why you were there." He said looking at Cassie.
Biting her lip, she didn't even know where to begin.
"Can we start with something else?" She asks looking back at him.
"Of course."
"I'm a paramedic at firehouse 51,"
"I thought you were a cop?"
"Used to be," Cassie said with a smile repeating what she said before. "How'd you figure that out anyway?"
"Glock 19. Most cops use that as their sidearm. Lucky guess." Jay said smiling back at her.
"Are you a cop?" Cassie asked curiously
"Detective. I work in organized crime over at the 21st."
"Ah. I didn't really make it past the patrolman stage over at the 31st." Cassie said with a sigh.
"But you're a paramedic now?"
"Yes, figured the education could be useful and then I fell in love with the rush. I just don't think I'm made for the streets." Cassie admitted finishing her coffee.
"I bet you'd thrive as a detective in a special unit. Not very many cops enjoy uniform."
After deciding that ordering food would be a good choice, Cassie and Jay continued talking and getting to know each other. But Cassie knew what she needed to tell him.
"I was up there because I ruined everything." Cassie started immediately hooking Jay's attention.
"I just fuck everything up, and I guess I couldn't handle it anymore. I convinced myself that the world would be better off without me..." Cassie said tearing up again, flinching a little when Jay placed his hand over her's.
Once Cassie explained everything that's happened, she felt relieved that she was able to open up to someone. That she didn't have to bottle it up and keep to herself. But when she looked up and saw the very prominent look of pity plaguing Jay's face all of the horrible feelings rushed back.
"This was a mistake." Cassie admitted quickly getting up.
Following her, Jay threw some money down on the table and basically chased her out of the diner.
"Cassie! Wait!" He said getting a little dejavu from just a few hours before.
"Jay, I'm broken. I've ruined everything, and there's nothing anyone can do to fix it. I'm lost cause just let me go." Cassie said stopping on the sidewalk turning around to face him.
"If you want me to let you go, why did you turn around to spare my feelings?" He asked confusing her.
"What?"
"If you truly felt like you were a lost cause, you would've kept walking. You wouldn't have stopped and turned around to tell me to let you go. You would've ran." He says stepping closer to her frozen figure.
"Let me help you. We're friends now, whether you like it or not. Im not leaving you in the dust... Let me help you." He says again now reaching for her hand.
Taking a shaky breath, Cassie had no more fight in her. It was either this, or death. And she knew she couldn't choose the latter.
Muttering a quiet, 'okay', Cassie took Jay's hand and sobbed into his shoulder once he pulled her in.
*Present Day*
"How've you been?" Jay asked thanking their waitress as she set down his usual.
"I've been okay. I guess my dad is getting out of prison soon. Everyone at the firehouse is mad at me." Cassie said sighing and stirring some sugar into her cold coffee.
"That's not your fault though? Why are they blaming you?" Jay asked making her smile.
"Exactly my thoughts." She admitted.
"How are things going with your undercover thing at Molly's?" Cassie asks earning a knowing look from Jay.
"You know I can't tell you, but I feel bad for Gabby. I hate going behind her back like this." Jay says getting an eye roll from Cassie.
"But in the end you're helping her. Everything with this Arthur guy will be over and she'll have her bar back. I think she'll get over it." Cassie says diverting her attention to her phone which pinged with a text. A text from Erin.
Frowning and picking up her phone, she looked back at Jay who waved her off.
"Go. If you need anything, reach out. Love you Cas." Jay says standing with her and giving her a brief hug.
"Will do, love you too." Cassie said with an eye roll and exiting the diner.
To say Cassie had anxiety would be an understatement. She hasn't talked to Erin in over 6 months, and now she's reaching out. Cassie replied to her first message as she left the diner, but nothing prepared her for Erin's response.
Erin: "I'm at your apartment. Where are you?"
Cassie: "On my way. Had a breakfast with a friend. 3 minutes out, sit tight?
Erin: "I let myself in."
Cassie never bothered to take the notes off her kitchen island. They were reminders as to why she stayed. If Erin found those...God, Cassie really hoped she hadn't.
"Hey," Cassie announced as she walked into her apartment with her voice immediately trailing off at the sight.
Freezing in her doorway, she was starting to feel the same exact way she did when she last saw him. Trembling and on the verge of collapsing.
"Cassidy." She heard as she watched the man she once considered her father turn around, with a paper in hand. Jeez where was Jay when she needed him.
"I uh, I thought you weren't getting out for another few days..." Cassie managed to say as she got herself to move. Slowly walking over to her kitchen island, where two of the five notes were opened. Shakily setting her keys down on the countertop, she looked up finally seeing Erin.
"Got out on good behavior. I guess it could be considered the easy way out. You know how that works, don't you?" Her father asked raising the note in his hand slightly to show he was using it as an example. He was using her weakness against her.
Cassie, visibly shaking now, turned her attention back to Erin who was wiping tears from her eyes. Yeah Cassie wasn't going to be able to get through this sober. Turning around quickly and grabbing the bottle of liquor she hasn't touched since the night she wrote those notes, she quickly got the cap off and drank straight from the bottle.
"Cassie, it's 11 a.m," Erin said finally speaking up.
"Well. It's 5 o'clock somewhere." Cassie said chuckling and taking another drink. Finally setting the cap-less bottle on the counter, Cassie made her way out of the kitchen and into her living room.
"If either of you would like a drink, help yourselves. You're pretty good at that right? Helping yourselves?" Cassie asked almost furiously and sitting on her couch. She did not do all this work for the last 5 months for it all to go down the drain the second they come back. Jay would be proud right?
"What are you doing?" Hank finally asked as he watched his daughter.
"Waiting for the lecture." She said sighing and earning a scoff from both of them.
"Cassidy, what the hell is this?" He finally asked grabbing one of the chairs and sitting it across from Cassie who's on the couch.
"A letter." She said belching and looking over to Erin who hasn't moved.
"Come sit. We're having a family reunion, or just reunion since I'm not considered family."
"Cassie, if you need help why didn't you reach out." Erin said finally walking over to them.
"I was told that I actually wasn’t allowed to do that.” Cassie said pressing her lips into a line.
“Do not play that card. You know if you ever needed help, we would’ve been there in a heartbeat.” Her father said sternly.
“Yeah. Right. Also those are from a few months ago, so if you guys had a plan to try and talk me off the brink of suicide, you're a little too late." Cassie said a matter of factly with a shrug.
“Cassie this isn’t some joke, you need help.” Erin said earning a scoff from Cassie.
“You know what? Screw you guys. You do not just get to break into my apartment, dig into my personal belongings, and then lecture me about how i’ve lived my life since you’ve been out of it.” Cassie now said with tears running down her face.
“You’re right. We’re sorry.” Is all her father said on the matter leaving an uncomfortable silence between the three of them.
Rolling her eyes at his apology Erin moves to sit next to Cassie. Taking a breath, Erin touches the side of Cassie’s face, wiping a tear out from under her eye.
“We shouldn’t have opened the letters. It was an invasion of privacy and we had no right. But Cassie, the world would not be a better place without you.” Erin says crying completely now.
“Cassidy. I love you more than words would ever be able to describe. You’re a spitting image of your mother and that scares me. Especially after she passed, the way you talk, the way you dress, even the way you style your hair is just like Camille. I was a coward, and I shut you out. I dove head first into work. I expected too much from you, and I’m sorry. You were right about Justin, he did need help, and you opened my eyes. We came here to apologize, Cas. I would’ve came sooner but I figured with me in prison and you needing time…I thought it would be better this way. You will always be apart of this family if you like it or not. Family does not turn their backs on each other, and I did just that. It was wrong.” Trailing off with his words Cassie’s father hangs his head in shame. Cassie has never seen her father cry, and probably never will. But this is pretty close to it.
“I can’t just forgive you guys like that.” Cassie admits stubbornly. “But I appreciate the apologies.” She adds again looking at the ceiling.
“That’s fine. It’s a start. How about you come over for Sunday dinner?” Erin asks combing Cassie’s hair with her fingers again.
“So you don’t feel left out, we haven’t had it in a few months. With Justin and I locked up…” Hank trails off looking at his daughters.
“I’d like that.” Cassie says taking a breath. She never thought she’d see the day they made up. Hell, the Cassie 5 months ago never thought she’d see any day again. But thanks to Jay, she’s still here. Alive and well. Shit, Jay. She’s really going to have to fill him in tomorrow.
The next few shifts at the firehouse were bearable. Yeah the silent treatments and the whispers were a little annoying, but what was she going to do? Her father is her father, she can’t hate him forever. Sorry Casey.
“How are they allowing him back out on the streets, let alone allowing him to run a special unit for the CPD? He’s a dirty cop, and he’s dangerous. He hates Antonio yet tried to recruit him for this and-”
“Gabby, there’s nothing I can do. If anyone hates him it’s me, trust me. But there’s nothing we can do.” Is all Matt says in response.
“I don’t know how Cassie can just let him back in her life like that though. He put you through hell-”
“Sorry Gabby, but i’m not going to never talk to my father again just because he had a fight with Matt Casey.” Cassie interrupts walking into the locker room.
“Well it was more than a fight, he harassed Matt for weeks,”
“And how do you think he treated my ex boyfriends? The man will do anything for his kids, even if it isn’t the right thing. I get that he put you through hell Matt, I really do and I’m sorry. But I did my time. I didn’t have any contact with my family for 6 months while I stood by you with that report, so sue me for eventually making up with my father. Now I would appreciate it if the whispers, and looks of resentment or pity would end, and you guys would stop having my families name in your mouth.” Cassie says leaving the other two in the locker room flabbergasted as she walked out.
The next day when Cassie was off shift and meeting Jay for their daily coffees, to her surprise Jay was there before her.
“Good-morning sunshine, you’re not late today!” Cassie congratulated as she slid into the booth across from Jay.
“Gabby’s not happy with you.” Is all he says with a sly smirk making Cassie roll her eyes.
“Oh boy!” She says with fake enthusiasm as she thanks the waitress for her coffee.
“Yep. Gabby also found out i’ve been undercover this whole time.” He admits anxiously looking at Cassie.
“Oh. You really like her, huh?”
“You jealous?”
“Absolutely not.” Cassie says unconvincingly as she sips her coffee.
“I have to meet Arthur in an hour, I’m hoping this will be the last time and I’ll be able to get a confession for the Game Day fire.” Jay says like he’s stalling.
“That’s good.” Cassie hums skeptically, not really caring about this whole undercover operation anymore.
“But Cas, um, your father reached out to me.” Jay finally admits catching Cassie’s attention for real now.
“Oh? What did he want?” Cassie asked suspiciously.
“He said you mentioned me. Said that made him look into my background and he wants to recruit me for this Intelligence Unit he’s starting at my district.” Jay says with his eyes not leaving Cassie’s.
“Wow, that’s, good? That’s an upgrade from organized crime right?” Cassie asks not sure if Jay is happy or not.
“Yeah, yes. It is.”
“Are you going to do it?”
“I don’t know. Should I? I mean, I don’t know much about him as a cop besides rumors and what you’ve said.” Jay admits mindlessly stirring his coffee.
“He’s a good cop, he’s cleaned his act up since he went away from what I know. I know that he closes cases and puts the bad guys away. I don’t know much about his strategy, but I think it would be a good opportunity.” Cassie says honestly wanting the best for Jay.
“Okay. I’ll think about it some more. I have another question though,”
“Shoot.”
“What did you say about me?”
“Well, this last Sunday we had our first family dinner in God knows how long. I told him how you helped me get better. That you’re the only reason I’m still here today and that I value our friendship a lot.” Cassie said placing her hand on Jay’s on their table.
“You’re my best friend, Cas. You know that right?” Jay says with a smile.
“Oh don’t get all gushy on me, Halstead. But you’re my best friend too.” Cassie says with a reassuring nod at the man in front of her.
5 times gabby didn't realize kelly and matt were dating (and 1 time she did) - FINAL PART
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-<3-
pairing - m. casey x k. severide
rating - teen and up (unrequited love, implied sexual content, hurt/comfort, minor violence, kidnapping, happy ending)
word count - 2,745
summary - for part six: andddd the final chapter. what could possibly be the next adventure for this duo? is Gabby still clueless or will she finally come around?
a/n: we do a little 'napping. time to pick on matt!
-<3-
+1
"Hey, sweetheart." Kelly purrs, flopping on the couch and throwing an arm around his boyfriend.
Matt slowly looks up from his paperwork; his eyebrows furrowed together in a blatant show of judgment. "Alright, what is happening. The last time you called me that, you had accidentally bought a car."
Kelly smiles a little wider. "Do you want to go out for dinner tonight?"
The Captain sets his files down beside him and shifts his body to face Kelly. "Yeah, could be fun. Should we go to Molly's or maybe that one trivia bar? I could call Brett-"
"No, let's go somewhere new, just us." The other starts to play with the hair at the base of Matt's neck. "Maybe a fancy, romantic dinner? Think about it, the last few months have been consumed by my injury. When's the last time we had fun?"
Matt pauses. "Well, two weeks ago, we had some wine, and I think you were pretty happy about it." He glances down casually and squeezes the hand suddenly on the brunette's thigh.
Kelly hums, remembering. "Mmm, yeah. I would still like to go out. What do you think?" He pulls Matt onto his lap, linking their fingers together.
"Sure, sounds fun. Where do you wanna go, exactly?"
"Oh, no, it's going to be a surprise. Gotta keep you guessing."
Matt smirks, pressing closer. "Okay. Then you better be ready for heart-racing, bed-breaking, ecstasy-type- fun." He delivered each hyphenated phrase with a sultry breath and an inch forward.
Kelly just looked at him. "Jesus, Matt. I don't know if we'll make it that far. You are really sexy when you wanna be, did you know that?"
The blonde laughed, pulling his partner in for a suave kiss.
Matt slipped off the taller's lap, grabbing his files to place them on the kitchen island.
"I'm gonna change quick. After that, I have to pick up something from a friend, and then I'll come back to pick you up. 'Kay? Dress nice." Kelly spoke, already walking towards their bedroom.
Matt nodded his acknowledgment before burying himself into the paperwork again.
-
A bell dinged as Kelly entered the jewelry store, glancing around for his favorite attendant. "Ah, Mr. Severide. I was wondering when you were going to come back. Have you finally decided?"
He sighed in relief. "Kenny. Yes, I have. The light silver band, did you hold it for me?"
"Against my better judgment, yes. I just like you, Mr. Severide."
Severide grinned. "Kenny, stop. I'm practically an engaged man."
Kenny smiled back. "Let me get that ring for you, sir."
-
Hours later, after a fancy, romantic dinner, with expensive champagne and delicious food, Kelly and Matt are walking down a well-lit path close to the loft. The blonde is cuddling his partner's arm, their hands locked at Kelly's side.
"Mmm, I missed this," Matt says, tightening his grip slightly.
"Missed what?"
"Just us. It's been crazy these past few months with your injury and work. It felt like any time we wanted to be alone, there was this third person in the room, making it awkward."
"Let me guess, the sprained ankle? I couldn't walk for days." Kelly smirked down at Matt.
"Ugh, whatever."
Kelly stopped in the middle of a clearing, a quiet road a few feet away. He put a knuckle under Matt's chin, tilting it a little. "No, I know what you mean. I felt the same way. But we got over it, right? We're here now-"
They heard screeching up the street, like tires leaving marks on the asphalt. Matt left Kelly's grasp and walked forward, more into the light of a street lamp. The noise continued to get closer. Suddenly, the vehicle came into sight, a white van.
Matt shrugged and turned away from the street. When it came to an aggressive halt, two men slammed open the side door to step down from it.
"Matt!" Kelly immediately started rushing forward, but the men in black hoodies and ski masks already had their hands on Matt, pulling him into the van.
The blonde started to fight against them, but the taller pulled out a cloth and put it over his face. His eyes started drooping as the door closed behind them.
"Go, go!" The vehicle took off, barrelling down the street as Kelly ran behind it.
"Matt!!"
-
"I'm sorry, what?" Boden asked.
"Matt got kidnapped! Right in front of me! I didn't even get to fight the dogs that took him." Severide started to break down. "He's gone, he's gone. My whole world is gone." Wet streaks began to run down his face.
Boden sat him down on a nearby bench in Voight's office. "Alright, Kelly. Deep breaths. Why don't you start over?"
Severide sniffed. "I wanted to propose tonight." He looked up with watery eyes. "We went out to this fancy restaurant and had a romantic dinner. It was perfect. And then we were walking in the park near our apartment-" A fresh wave of tears cut the man off as he sobbed quietly.
"Severide, we can't find Casey unless you give us all the details." Voight reminded him.
Jay offered him a tissue box before leaning against the desk.
Severide recovered somewhat and continued. "We heard this screeching up the street, and then this white van came into view." He paused, closing his eyes. "And they took him. Two guys, average build. Ski masks and everything. They even had chloroform. I, um, got a partial license plate." He pulled out a scrap of paper and handed it to Jay. It was four symbols long. 5B7I
"Thank you, Severide."
Voight spoke up. "Was there anything unusual about them - tattoos, did they speak, stuff like that?"
"I was a little busy watching my boyfriend get kidnapped." Severide snapped.
"Just trying to get it while it's fresh in your mind," Jay said gently before laying a hand on Voight's forearm, shooting him a disapproving look. The Seargent mouthed a 'What' back.
"No, I told you everything I noticed."
"Okay, thank you again, Severide. This should be good information to get started with. Chief Boden, why don't you take him for a cup of coffee?"
Boden sighed. "Yeah, come on, Kelly." He put a hand on his lieutenant's shoulder, ready to pick him up off the bench.
"No."
"Kelly?" Boden questioned.
"I'm not going anywhere while my Matt is still out there. You're gonna let me help you, or I'm gonna help myself." Severide stared Voight in the eye as he stood.
The Sergeant sighed. "Look. I don't want to step on your toes, but this isn't exactly your area of expertise."
"I know, but. Just- let me help. Because if I don't find Matt, if I don't get him back-" Severide started to choke up again. "My life will be over. I won't-"
Voight didn't say anything for a few seconds. "Fine."
-
The last thing Casey remembers was seeing Kelly's face as he ran towards the Captain. He shook awake with the moment still imprinted on the whites of his eyes and was greeted by a dim room. He was sitting on a metal chair facing a blacked-out window. Pulling on his wrists made ropes tighten against Casey's arms. He groaned in frustration when the same happened with his legs.
"Hello?" He called out. "You're not scaring me! I like being tied up!" Which was untrue, but they didn't need to know that.
A man with unkempt hair and a 5'clock shadow emerged from the semi-darkness. "So, you're Kelly's new boyfriend."
Casey's eyes narrowed slightly. "I'm sorry, who are you?"
"Eric Sutton. Kelly never mentioned me?" Eric's sinister smile drooped slightly.
"Was he supposed to?"
"We dated for almost two years. I imagine it would have come up." Casey analyzed the man, noticing the imprint of a switchblade in his left pocket. "My hair used to be lighter, if that helps."
"Nothing comes to mind."
Eric sighs, disappointed. "Well, it doesn't matter. You will have to remember me after this."
"What are you gonna- " Casey is cut off by a powerful punch to his jaw. He tastes copper as another fist is driven into his stomach. Tears spring to the blonde's eyes as the chair tips to the right and falls. Eric starts kicking him in the gut, barely missing his crotch.
"See how Kelly likes you now." The man says before Casey blacks out.
-
"Okay, first, who would kidnap Matt and why? Does he have any enemies who might want him dead?" Voight asked Severide.
"Well, it's Matt; he has a tendency to rub people the wrong way." Severide took a drink of coffee, accenting the shaking in his hands. "He thought he had a stalker, though. Said a couple of times earlier this week he would see an unmarked white van outside before it drove away."
Jay's ears perked up. "Yeah, Matt called me and asked me to look into that. I hadn't gotten anywhere."
Voight nodded solemnly. "Did we get a hit on the license plate yet?" He asked his partner.
A small ding answered the Seargent's question. "Registered to a Simon Towers. Two priors: attempted kidnapping and aggravated assault. Ooo, and he had a partner for both of them: James Towers." Jay looked at the man standing over him.
"Brothers." He scoffed.
"Address is in West Englewood."
"Let's go."
-
"Alright, Boden, Severide, stay in the car; we'll be right back." The brunette said, glancing in the rearview mirror as he and Voight exited the vehicle.
The officers pulled their guns and stood on opposite sides of the doorway.
"On my count, one, two, three."
Jay kicked open the front door, immediately scanning the first room with his gun raised. "Clear." He called. Voight entered then, moving forward into what looked like a kitchen. They cleared the entire first floor and were making their way up the stairs when they heard a thump. On the right side of the house, garbage cans were kicked over as whoever fell was trying to flee. Jay made it out a side door and gave chase.
"Hey!" He shouted. Severide, much closer to the running man, flung open his door, whacking one of the brothers flat on his ass. Jay just got over to the felon as Voight exited the house, leading a man in handcuffs.
-
Casey spits out more blood, watching Eric take his phone from his pocket. "What do you want? Money?"
Eric laughs. "No, honey, I just want to see Kelly suffer. Should we call him? What's your password?"
"I think you broke my arm." The Captain says.
"Oh, don't be such a baby." Eric faces the phone to Casey's face. It unlocks with a quiet click. "Wow, didn't expect that to work. Alright, Kelly, Kelly." He scrolls through the other's contact list, pressing the video call button when he finds Kelly.
Kelly blinks twice when he sees Casey's profile picture pop up on his phone.
"Who's that?" Boden asks.
"It's Casey; he's trying to video call me."
"I'm gonna get Voight."
The Chief comes back with Voight and Jay before Severide answers the phone. The Seargent instructs Severide to face away from the inside of the station and not to talk like anyone else is there.
"Matt, baby, are you okay?" Severide says, practically hysterical.
"Hi, Kelly." Eric appears on the screen, grinning wide.
"Eric? What the hell? Where is Matt?" Severide starts to ball one of his fists.
"Oh, he's right here, sweetheart." Eric turns the phone, snuggling up against Casey so the firefighter can see them both. "Remember when you broke up with me, and I said if you ever find another boyfriend, I'll kill him?"
Casey's eyes widen as he struggles against the tape across his mouth. "I really don't."
"Well, guess what I'm going to do." He pulls out his switchblade and playfully drags it across the blonde's throat before the call ends.
"No!" Severide exclaims, putting his head in his hands.
Voight storms back to the interrogation room and slams his fists on the table. "Where is your boss?!" He yells. The brothers - with fear in their eyes - start to talk quickly.
He re-enters the large room and grabs hold of Severide's shoulder, dragging him to the car as the others follow. Jay calls for backup on the drive as the sirens blare out. Soon enough, they are pulling up to an abandoned building.
Voight instructs the other officers to go around the back as they surround the property. He looks to Severide, who is leaning against the car. "Stay back, okay?"
Positioning himself on the side of the doorway, the man holds up his radio. "On my count, one, two, three." The Sergeant enters the building with the others and raises his gun. Severide is a few steps behind him. Within minutes, after maneuvering many empty rooms, the pair stumbles upon a large room.
Eric stands over Casey with his knife raised. "Eric Sutton!" Jay calls. "Put the knife down!"
"Now, why would I do that?" He brings his arm down just as a shot rings out. Casey falls with Eric, landing in his pooling blood. Still strapped to the chair, he can't move away from the liquid soaking into the blonde's clothes. The wound on his neck from the other's knife starts to leak as Kelly runs up to Matt. Matt's eyes slip closed as he feels Kelly's fingers on his face.
-
"Well, Matt. We have to stop meeting like this." Doctor Halstead said, fixing Matt's IV drip as he slowly opened his eyes.
Matt blinked blurrily, looking around the room for Kelly. "Where's-"
"Severide? He went out for some ice. I'm sure he'll be back soon." Doctor Halstead smiled.
"How long have I been here?" Matt asked, sitting up on the bed.
"Few hours. Broken arm and a few cuts and bruises. Plus a black eye. Severide was really worried about you."
"Thank you, Doctor." He left, giving Matt a little wave.
Eventually, Kelly came back and almost dropped his ice cup as he saw the Captain's weak smile. "Matt! You're awake!"
"Hey, baby."
Kelly rushed forward and dragged him into a long kiss. He pulled back reluctantly, pressing their foreheads together. "I thought I lost you."
"I'm here."
"I thought I was never gonna see you again; I thought I was never going to kiss you again; I thought I lost you." Tears sprung from Kelly's eyes.
"I'm here, Kelly. I'm not going anywhere." Matt reassured him, eyes boring into his own, green on green. "Kiss me."
The brunette did as Matt pulled him onto the bed, and they laid together, sharing soft kisses.
Minutes later, the firehouse got there - minus Gabby and Sylvie, giving Matt hugs and clutching their hearts in relief.
As the crews got caught up in their talking, Severide cleared his throat. "Uh, Matt. I have something to ask, and I think this is the best time, in front of the house. In front of our family." Kelly glanced at Boden, and he nodded.
Matt tilted his head slightly.
Gabby and Sylvie finally snuck in as everyone's eyes were on Kelly and Matt.
The lieutenant took his partner's hand. "We've had a lot of scary experiences lately, and I just can't stand not having my forever on your finger anymore."
"Kelly. What are you doing?" Matt asked, his voice breaking.
Kelly laughed slightly, pulling out a box from his jacket pocket. Everyone gasped.
"What's happening?" Gabby whispered to her friend. Sylvie shushed her.
Severide popped the ring box open. "Matthew Casey, you are the air I breathe, the food I eat, the water I drink. Yours are the lips I kiss; yours is the body I worship." The house groaned at that. Kelly rolled his eyes before continuing. "Yours are the eyes I adore. Matt, you are everything to me. Will you-"
"Yes, yes, Kelly Severide, yes! I'll marry the hell out of you." Kelly grinned and roughly kissed his new fiance.
"When did this become a thing?" Gabby asked Sylvie, pulling her back from the group flocking the couple.
"Severide and Casey have been dating for months. How did you not know this? They told everyone at once."
"I must not have been there. I- are you serious?"
"Yes? They just got engaged, do you need any more proof?" Sylvie sassed, going up to congratulate her friends.
"I love you," Kelly sweetly whispered before kissing his partner again.
"I know," Matt whispered back.
You couldn't avoid rolling your eyes as you watched Dawson dancing with Casey in the middle of the ballroom. CFD was throwing a charity event, and since your boyfriend was the Captain at 51, he dragged you here with him. You knew Dawson would be here, but you didn't expect her to stick around Casey the way she did.
As you made your way to the bar, hoping a glass of dry whiskey would ease your nerves, you noticed a familiar figure sitting on one of the stools.
"Tell me about prison." You said, leaning on the bar and catching Halstead's attention.
"... Why?" He smiled, letting a short laugh fall through his lips. You turned around, leaning your back on the bar, and stared at the crowd, your eyes fixing on the two firefighters dancing happily around the room. Halstead turned around and saw what was making you so mad.
"Because I'm probably going to be going there in a bit and I want to know what to expect." You finally confessed, before taking a seat on the stool and resting your arms on the counter. Turning to your friend, you shook your head in disbelief and whispered through gritted teeth. "I'm gonna kill that bitch. I swear to you-…" You stopped on your tracks once you felt a warm hand brushing your shoulder. Before you could turn around to see who it was, you felt a warm breath over you ear.
"Babe, c'mon." Casey whispered, pulling your hand. "I want to spent the rest of the night dancing with you."
"Why?" You quickly turned around to face him. "Is Dawson busy??" You mocked, flashing a fake smile.
"No, but I don't wanna dance with Dawson. I wanna dance with you." His hand traveled up to your cheek and he used his thumb to caress it. "I know you don't like Dawson, but she's my friend. She just asked me for a dance, there's nothing wrong about that . Babe, come on..." He leaned down for a kiss but you pulled back.
"Yeah, there's nothing wrong about dancing with a friend." You smiled, taking Halstead's hand in yours and pulling him off the stool. "So you don't mind if I spend the rest of the night dancing with Jay, right!?" You flashed Casey a smiled before disappearing in the middle of the crowd, dragging Halstead with you.
Blind Dates
Tumblr media
Kelly Severide X Reader
A/N: This isn’t going to be super long just a cute little idea I have so I hope everyone enjoys it
Y/N’s POV
You woke up in the morning with a little pep in your step. You were excited about your blind date today.
 It had been a while sense you been out in a proper date. Working as a paramedic with the Chicago Fire Department had you hella busy.
Also you just gotten out of a bad long term relationship. It lasted about 3 years and to say it ended on good terms was funny.
It was so bad that it didn’t even make you want to date anymore.
But it had been about 6 months since the breakup and Gabby was setting you up tonight. She didn’t even ask you,
 Just told you and honestly it was something you thought would be good for you.
So this morning you woke up with a smile on your face. You had picked out a cute little black dress and some good heels. You were working morning shift today so you were able to go home and get changed.
You were a little nervous because you knew nothing about this date. What he looked like or what he was into. Gabby only told you that he was a good guy and she knew it was a good fit.
You trusted her though and she never let you down before so you thought it would be good for you.
Rolling out of bed you got dressed and ready for shift. Putting on those ugly blues with those stuffy pants. You never felt like changing at the station so you just got dressed at home.
After getting dressed you ate some breakfast and then headed out for the day. You blessed music on the way to work your normal routine of getting pumped.
You lived about 20 minutes away from the house but with traffic is was more like 40. You liked the ride to work it was like your time to be alone and recharge.
Finally you made it to the station. You pulled into your normal parking spot and headed into work.
 Mostly everyone was there expect with a few people straggling in behind you.
You made your way into the locker room to put your stuff away and there he was. Kelly Severide. That man was fine af and he was funny kind and everything else under the sun.
You always had a crush on him. But he was such a player you never thought of letting him know. You were never the type to just hit and quit like he was. So you saved yourself from that struggle.
He was wearing nothing but a towel when you saw him with the water beads dripping all over his beautiful body.  He saw you walk in and smiled at you.
“Hey Y/N good morning” Kelly said
“Hey Good morning” You said, trying to hide your heart eyes away.
“You avoiding me or something” Kelly asked laughing
You glanced over at him and smiled
“Nope why would i do that” You said
You threw your stuff into the locker and then headed out into the main room. Gabby and everyone was in there Capp and Tony were arguing about something.
“Hey Y/N good morning hear try this it’s your fave” Gabby said handing you a plate of food.
“Mm thank you” You said grabbing and sitting down next to Casey who also said good morning and smiling at you.
Gabby sat down next to you a few moments later and she looked at you with a smile.
“So are you ready for tonight” Gabby asked
“What’s tonight” Casey asked
You and Gabby looked over at each other and laughed.
“I am setting up Y/n with a blind date tonight.” Gabby said.
“Wow okay good luck with that” Matt said
“What does that mean” You asked
“Nothing” Casey said laughing
“Come on it’s going to be fun” Gabby said.
“Yeah hopefully i won't regret this” You said.
Kelly walked in after that and he sat down next to the two of you and smiled
“What are we talking about ladies” He asked
“Y/n has a date tonight “ Gabby said
“Awe i feel bad for the guy” Kelly said laughing
“What ever don’t be jealous” You said getting up from the table.
You walked out to the ambulance and began your morning pre check. Trying to hurry the day along.
The day was pretty quiet and you didn’t have many calls beside your regulars. Some older people and the ones wanting to get drugs.
You were back at the firehouse now. Laying in the bunker room looking at your phone scrolling through social media.
 You only had about an hour left before your shift was over.
You prayed so hard that you wouldn’t get any more calls the rest of the day. Looking over, Kelly was in his office.
He was sitting at his desk doing paperwork. No matter how hard you tried to forget about him you never could.
And trust me you tried hard to move on. Even getting into your last relationship. But part of you thinks that why it didn’t work. But you had to keep trying.
So you turned your attention back to your phone and tried to turn your attention back to your phone.
 The rest of the hour was slow and finally it reached time to leave and you jumped up from the bed.
You ran into the locker room and changed before someone called you back to work. Gabby came into the locker room and laughed at you.
“Someone’s ready” Gabby said
“Hell yeah” you said
“I am getting out of here before someone decides they need us” You said
“Girl we gotta leave now then” Gabby said
“I know right let’s head out” You said
The two of you finished changing and headed out. Arm and arm you both walked to the car.
Gabby hugged you and you hugged her back
“I need to know all the details okay” Gabby said
“Of course” You said
You both went your separate ways and you hopped into the car and headed home. You were excited to go out.
You blasted music all the way home getting yourself pumped for tonight. You made it home and went in and began the prep work.
You needed a shower to wash away the day. It was a nice long one and then you got out and it was time for some self care.
You began the prep and it sure did take a while. You had to make sure you looked hot af tonight.
Finally when that was all over you began getting dressed. The butterflies were getting strong in your stomach.
You honestly thought you were gonna throw up. You just tried to push it down not wanting to get in your head over this.
Looking at yourself in the mirror you looked hot af. You felt soo good about yourself.  Gathering up your stuff you headed out.
You were meeting at a restaurant and keeping it low casual. This time though you didn’t blast your music you were just focused on not freaking out. The dinner was at a nice steakhouse.
You made it there and it was really nice and suddenly it hit you like a ton of bricks. You knew nothing about this man and he could have been a killer for all you know. It had been so long sense you even went on a first date.
But you told yourself that it was all going to be fine and you honestly needed this. So you threw caution into the wind and headed in.
The reservation was under your name. It was super nice inside and you knew it was gonna  be expensive.
You walked to the hostess and checked in.
“Hello i have a reservation under (your last name)” You said
“Hi your other guest is here I will take you back” She said
You felt knots in your stomach and your hands were all clammy. It felt like she was walking forever.
Then when you saw him you knew there had to be some kind of mistake because he even looked confused. She walked you up the table and told you to enjoy.
“Kelly what the hell are you doing here” You yelled
“Me Matt set me up with a date what are you doing here”  Kelly yelled back.
“Gabby set me up with a date you know that” You said
“I see what they did they set us up together” Kelly said
“Well I hate to disappoint I’ll leave” You said
“Wait no stay please” Kelly said
You sat down and that’s when it got awkward because no one was saying anything. Finally Kelly spoke up
“You look beautiful tonight” Kelly said
“Look I don’t mean to be rude but this isn’t what I want” you said
“What are you talking about?” Kelly asked with a confused look on his face.
“I know you, your a player and I don’t want that and we work together” You said
“Ouch that hurt” Kelly said
“I’m sorry” You said
“Look your right but that’s not the life I want anymore and i’m guessing they know how I feel about you” Kelly said
“How you feel about me” you asked heart racing
“I think you are beautiful smart, funny and kind and I love you” Kelly said
You were to stunned to speak and didn’t know what to say but you spoke from the heart.
“I love you to and you make me laugh and your kind” You said
“But we work together and what if it doesn’t work” You said
“What if we do no one’s getting married so let’s take it slow okay I want that with you” Kelly said grabbing your hand.
“I want that to and I guess we should thank Gabby and Matt for this” You said
“Nah we can let them get cocky about this” Kelly said
You both ordered dinner and even stayed for desert. Then drinks after just talking about anything and everything.
Everything with him was just so easy and effortless and now you were glad it was him and not some random hookup.
This is where you needed to be here right here with him
 When it was over Kelly walked you out to the car.
“I had a really fun night” Kelly said
“Me to and thank you for this I do want this to work” You said
“So do I” kelly said
Kelly leaned in and kissed you and you kissed him back butterflies erupting in your stomach.
When it was over you both decided to go your separate ways not wanting to rush things. Before you drove off you got a text on your phone from Gabby
“Knew it would be a good match” Gabby said
You texted back
“Don’t be cocky maybe it did maybe it didn’t You teased
You then drove off with a smile on your face knowing it was one hell of a setup.
"Did you just throw that at my HEAD?"
With Severide CF? ❤️
Tumblr media
“Did you just throw that at my head?” You directed your stunned words at Kelly, who had, believe it or not, thrown something at your head. That something was still to be determined as you rubbed the sore spot on your temple, twisting in your position on the couch between Matt and Mouch to gape at the offender, who looked anything but regretful. In fact, he looked especially unimpressed.
“To monogamy or not to monogamy...”
All heads in the common room turned towards Matt as he picked up the object Kelly had tossed, a short stack of stapled papers, and read the title. It was in that moment, after he’d read the final word and the unimpressed expression on Kelly’s face darkened, that you had to bite your tongue to keep from snorting laughter, despite the situation you seemed to have landed yourself in.
Others had more trouble keeping their amusement at bay, a chorus of laughter echoing around the room as Matt continued to read.
“‘Lieutenant Kelly Severide would argue for the latter. Though he may seem like a family man, willing to settle down with a wife and a couple kids—’” Matt held a fist to his lips, his chest jolting with supressed laughter— “’he is in fact the opposite.’”
Hermann slapped the back of his chair with a guffawing laugh. “The hell is that?”
Kelly uncrossed his arms to grip his forehead, dragging a tired hand down his face. “It’s a smear campaign against me, that’s what it is.”
Your brother seemingly engrossed in the remainder of the sheets’ paragraphs, intermittently snickering to himself, you turned to fully face Kelly and rest your arms on the back of the couch. You attempted to appear somewhat serious, very aware Kelly was taking it as such, but every time you tried to school your features, a sentence you’d written or a word you’d typed after chuckling to yourself for a good minute floated back in your brain, and Kelly’s face suddenly seemed far more comical than he definitely intended it to be.
Mouch leant over to peer at the sheets of paper, and Cruz and Otis rushed to read over Matt’s shoulder. Kelly looked hilariously betrayed, and you knew you had to speak before you burst into laughter.
“Okay, hear me out, hear me out,” you deadpanned. Otis snorted at a particular line beside you and you clamped down on your tongue. “I got nothing.” Kelly lifted a finger to point at you, dangerously dipping his head, and you grinned, shaking a hand at him. “Joking! I’m joking! We had to write a journal article on something funny, okay? It was just practice for exam season.”
Kelly tossed his arms up in obvious protest. “So why not write about Otis’s pink underwear? Or—Mouch’s infatuation with stamps?”
Otis was too engrossed in his new reading material to object, but Mouch ripped his attention from the article for a single second to correct him. “Collection, Severide. It’s a collection.”
You allowed Kelly to see your grin. You certainly hadn’t intended on him getting hold of the article, but you could only blame yourself for that, having worked on it earlier in his office while he finished paperwork. Really, you should have set yourself a reminder to take it with you when you left, knowing Kelly liked to read your schoolwork, but Cruz had called for lunch and you’d unapologetically raced to the kitchen before the others were given the chance to eat it all.
“It’s not going anywhere,” you assured him. “I’m not gonna hand it in.” Boden walked in then with his empty plate, not bothering to ask what was going on but moving to peek over Matt’s shoulder all the same. “Did you even read it?” you asked. “Gabby says it’s good.”
Gabby glanced up with a mouthful of tomato pasta. “What?” she asked with a shrug when Kelly turned a raised eyebrow on her. “It is.”
"Yeah,” Kelly said, “I read some of it. Stopped after ‘Kelly likes to blast Britney Spears’s Womanizer when he drives to work.’”
“Spoilers!” Cruz yelled. “We’re not there yet!”
Kelly ignored him. “Is my life a gag to you?”
You contemplated that. “Your love life is.”
Not a single person reading your article reacted when Kelly strode forward and bent over the couch to grab you. You scrambled backwards, shrieking after you seemed to forget the couch ended at some point and toppling backwards onto the floor. Again, nobody moved a muscle to help. Mouch shifted into the space you’d left to gain better access to the article, and Kelly rounded the couch in quick pursuit of you.
“Casey,” he yelled as a tussle broke out between you, “rip it up!”
If you could have seen behind the arms you were shoving back and the legs you were lifting to kick at his chest, you would have seen the men’s looks of horror at Kelly’s orders.
“But—but—” Mouch quickly verbalised his panic at not yet having finished the article.
“Aw, come on,” Matt said, “it’s a work of art.”
“Don’t worry, guys,” you ground out between clenched teeth as you grappled for the upper hand. “I’ll email you the copy on my laptop!”
It was then that Kelly laughed, too taken by the situation and the pure gall of the girl he’d helped raise to not find the hilarity in it in the end.
“Absolute madcap,” he said around his laughter, reaching back to wrench the papers from an indignant-looking Matt and hitting you on the head once again. “You’re way too much trouble.”
-<3-
5.
Matt peeked an eye open as he felt the bed lurch up. He laid there for a moment, blurrily watching Kelly waddle to the bathroom.
Forgetting about the man's injuries, he studies the muscles on his boyfriend's back until he swears, bumping into the doorframe.
"Fuck, fuck. Ow, damn." Kelly clutches his side, practically doubling over in pain.
The Captain sits up quickly, bounding off the bed and over to his partner. "Dammit, Kel." He put an arm around his shoulder, supporting Kelly on his way.
"God, sorry, babe. Next time I'll try not to be passed out on a collapsing warehouse floor." He hissed as they moved forward. "Looking for you." He added.
Matt recognized the sarcasm in his voice and fought the urge to whack him upside his head, not wanting to make the concussion worse.
Once they made it to the toilet, Kelly lowered himself slowly so as to not jostle his skull or bend his ankle.
The blonde left him there - confident he was okay - to get him a glass of water and check the time. The alarm clock on the nightstand read 3:37.
When Matt returned, Kelly looked all around like a lost and wounded puppy. He leaned against the wall, mouth slack and hand on his side. His eyebrows were scrunched together in pain.
"Alright, Kel, c'mon. Got you a couple ice packs and water." Matt crouched down to hoist his partner up off the seat.
Back on the bed, the Lieutenant angled his foot on a pillow, resting a cold pack across the ligament. He had one on his side, too; Matt was holding it there as he drifted back to sleep, cuddled up to Kelly.
-
Later in the morning, when Matt kissed his partner goodbye and made sure Stella was okay watching him, the blonde drove to his apartment to start packing.
Eventually, the others arrived, stuffing boxes in the back of Matt's truck as Matt talked to his landlord.
Kelly woke up to soft hands carding through his hair.
"Hey." The other spoke, sitting on the side of the bed.
The injured man shifted, raising himself on bent elbows. He groaned as a wave of dizziness washed over him.
Looking around the room, he saw lots of boxes. "Guess it's gonna be a lot more crowded in here."
"Yeah, well, I would have sorted it back at my apartment, but I talked to Len, and it turned out he's wanted me gone for a while. Already had another renter set up and everything. I promise it's not as bad as you think."
Kelly smiled, taking Matt's hand in his own. "It's fine. Are you done already? Figured you'd have some help."
"Nah, the guys are just on a lunch break, my treat." The Captain grabbed Kelly's other hand, helping him off the bed.
"You got so much money now that you're not renting an unused apartment, huh?" The brunette limped with Matt to the kitchen, sitting on a stool gingerly.
Matt snorted as he grabbed leftover homemade mac-and-cheese from the fridge, reheating it in the microwave.
Kelly took a bite from the bowl as his boyfriend set it down.
"Yeah, I'm practically Jeff Bezos over here."
Swallowing made the Lieutenant's head throb worse, and he swayed in his seat.
Matt looked up and quickly made his way to the other side of the island. "Oh! Oh, alright, Kelly, let's get you on the couch." Maneuvering him, the man slid down onto the furniture. Then, he suddenly started wheezing and coughing harshly. "Kelly, Kelly, deep breaths, come on, with me, in," Matt breathed deeply in, and Kelly followed as best he could. "Out. Again."
A few minutes later, Kelly had calmed down, and his breathing was back to normal.
"Jesus, don't scare me like that. The doctor said coughs, but not that kind of coughs."
Voice straining, Kelly whispered, "My fucking side hurts so bad." A small wheeze. Matt moved to sit next to him, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. The brunette tucked himself into his boyfriend's side, his eyes slipping closed.
The loft door crashed open, Cruz, Otis, Stella, Dawson, Herrmann, and Mouch jaunting through the door. They were laughing loudly, carrying foam boxes surely filled with leftovers.
Kelly put his hands up to his ears, somewhat deflecting their noise. Matt lifted his head to glare at the rowdy bunch, and they all promptly shut up.
"S-Sorry, Captain, we figured he was still asleep." Mouch started.
Casey opened his mouth to address them, "A-"
"It's fine, just please talk quieter," Severide interjected.
The group visited with each other as Kelly finished his lunch and a few glasses of water with his pills.
-
Otis had Cruz pushed up against the wall, a hand under his shirt, massaging his hip, as he berated the man's neck.
"Brian," he cried out quietly.
Severide cleared his throat, rubbing his lower back as a clear sign of discomfort.
"I- um. Just need-" He gestured to the bathroom door behind them. The pair moved to the side, Joe blushing profusely and Brian smirking slightly.
The tall brunette shuffled halfway into the room before he turned, wincing as his skin pulled on the bruising.
Cruz reached out two hands to steady him, asking, "Lieutenant, are you okay?"
"Peachy, how- uh, how long has this been goin' on?" Severide leaned against the doorway, wanting nothing more to sit down at that moment.
The couple glanced at each other, both telling their partner to speak first.
"Few days, I guess." Otis finally said. "After you got hurt, I just need to let Joe know how I felt in case something horrible happened."
"Congrats?" Severide squinted at them, his vision was swimming. "Can you get Matt, please? I can't see."
Cruz rushed off, a "right away" thrown over his shoulder.
-days later-
Matt poked Kelly in the hip, shocking him quickly back to the world of awake and alert. "Come on, babe. It's past your bedtime."
He groaned as he was helped off the couch, the TV before them shut off, the game presumably over.
"Did we win?" He asked.
"Yep, 3-2."
After Matt had managed to get Kelly in bed, he sat in the La-Z-Boy and read a book. A knock on the door made him look up from the novel and frown. He glanced at his watch before getting out of the chair.
"Gabby," he said after opening the door.
"Yeah, sorry, I didn't want to come because it's so late, but-" She shifted the box in her hands, squeezing past Matt into the open room. "I had this stuff in my car that I forgot to bring, and I'm going out of town, so…"
"Right."
Dawson set the brown box down. Matt crossed his arms and leaned against the counter as she stood awkwardly.
"Severide asleep?"
"Yep."
Gabby stared at a hole in the floor for a few minutes before they heard footfalls coming from Kelly and Matt's room.
"Baby?" Severide called as he entered the living room. "There's no more water in… oh, hey, Dawson. What's up?"
Her eyebrows furrowed together as she halfheartedly pointed to the box on the couch. "I was bringing some stuff I left in my car after Matt's move. But, I know it's late, so I guess I should go."
"Yeah, okay. Bye, Gabby, I'll see you on Monday."
"Mmm-hmm." The door clicks behind her as she leaves.
"She seemed weird." Kelly said, adjusting his grip on the wall. Matt laughs, grabbing a couple of water bottles from the fridge and slinging an arm around his partner.
"Come on, grumpy, lets get you into bed."
Kelly tweaked his head and pouted. "I'm not grumpy."
"Sure, darling." Matt responded sarcastically.
They got into bed; Matt curled protectively around his partner.
Okay i actually think sylvie and matt could work good together. Matt is all no nonsense, straight forward, and can be harsh especially when dealing with his own stuff. Sylvie is bright sunshiney and believes in the good in people. Both will fight for the people in their protection with all they have and stand up against abuse. But sylvie can soften Matt's edges and matt will always be present for her.
Jay Halstead (& Platonic! Will Halstead): People You Love
Some stories just write themselves and that is what this one did. I’ve been in a writing mood lately and I have a whole list of ideas I want to go through. This isn’t super Jay x reader-focused.
Warnings: Mentions of PTSD and anti Will/ Natalie content
You took a sip of your drink listening to Will talk to his brother about his latest disagreement with Natalie. You had learned at the beginning of your relationship with Jay and first meeting Will that it was not a topic of conversation that you should chime in on.
Will wanted to be with Nat and there was nothing that could change that to his and her own detriment. You stirred the brightly colored liquid with your straw, listening to the ice cubes click against the glass. It was a sweet drink that Gabby had made for you. You were one of the few who frequented Molly’s that didn’t drink beer and only ordered mixed drinks. You had gotten hell for it from a few of the blue-collar boys, but Gabby had taken that as a challenge. There was always a new drink she had found for you to try.
You tried to hide your wince by taking a drink when Will went through some particularly low blows of the fight. The saying sticks and stones make break my bone never considered how cutting words could be. Especially from the people who were supposed to love you. “You want another babe?” Your eyes flashed between his eyes and your cup which you now found almost empty. You hesitate, but with the way Will is going, you will probably be here for quite a while yet.
“Yeah, just one more,” You agree. You watch him leave the table and make his way over to the crowded bar top. He wouldn’t have to wait if not for your drink, but he never complained. You heard a sigh and the loud click of a bottle being set more forcefully on the table.
“Alright, let's hear it.” You glance up at Will expectantly. You weren’t close but you had acquaintanceship because of Jay. You liked Will but it was hard to form a real friendship with someone when you felt like you had to edit everything you said because they couldn’t handle your honesty. Will had a strong alpha male confidence and ego. He needed someone who could call him to the carpet, but you weren’t willing to risk your relationship with Jay to be that for him. You tilted your head in question to his statement. “I know you want to say something, so let’s hear it.” You shake your head circling your straw in your cup again. The bangles that lined your arms clinked together loudly as they slid down to your wrists. “C’mon,” Will pressed.
“It’s nothing you want to hear.”
“But there is something you want to say.” His gaze held yours and he raised his eyebrows in question. There was a challenging spark in his eyes. He was looking for a fight. “You’ve been with my brother for almost a year and never had an opinion you wanted to share about any of my relationship problems? I doubt that. I’ve been trying and nothing has been working out. So, I’m up for a female viewpoint.”
“What you want is a fight. I like my relationship with Jay, I’m not going to ruin it by fighting with his older brother.” Will sits up a little straighter in his seat.
“Is that so? Well, this one can be on the house. No backlash or fallout. The way I see it-I asked, you answered.” You eye him up and down trying to determine the truth of his words and if he was able to abide by what he just offered. You looked at the bar. Jay was leaning leisurely against the bar top talking to Kelly Severide, Matt Casey, and Gabby. You could tell he was still going to be a minute. You look back at Will and nod.
“You and Natalie are never going to work.” Will blows out a breath and leans back in his seat before scoffing and shaking his head.
“You don’t-” You shake your head at him holding up your hand making all the bangles clank down to the bottom of your forearm, the loud noise effectively covering up his rebuttal.
“Uh-uh, you asked my opinion and now you're going to listen to it.” Will mouth turns into a firm line but he stays silent. “You two are bad for each other. I know you want it to work, to figure it out, for the little rainbows and butterflies to flutter down to fix all your problems. But it’s not going to happen. You two are bad for each other. She is bringing out the worst in you and from what I can tell- from the very limited time I’ve spent with you together- you are doing the same for her.”
“I love her,” You shake your head at the redheaded man in front of you.
“What you're doing to each other isn’t love Will. I know you care about her. Want what’s best for her but that doesn’t make it you. Love is finding each other's soft spots, their weakness. It’s learning and knowing exactly what could destroy them. It’s having all that power and choosing to protect them instead of bringing them to their knees.” You play with a bangle on your wrist twisting it, “I’ve been in a relationship where we picked each other to pieces, and I promise you Will that isn’t what you want.” You feel your eyes mist over with emotion, “It’s hard letting go but when you find someone that goes out of their way to protect you...When you would do anything to protect them...You will know that you’ve made the right decision.”
“I protect Natalie.” You shake your head at Will getting frustrated with his purposeful ignoring of the issues. “We just get heated sometimes, say things we don’t-”
“That’s what I am saying, Will. It seems to happen every other week with you too. Over stupid things that don’t matter.”
“Unlike you and Jay. Because I’m sure you too never fight.” Will shoots back and your frustration rises.
“Jay has PTSD. I’m more worried about protecting his mental health than notching up our day-to-day bickering. He gets in this headspace sometimes and it is irritating and frustrating because I just want him to talk to me. For him to let me help him. But he won’t. I didn’t understand at first. How could I? Then he had a really bad bout of it after a case. He didn’t hear me come in and I startled him. He pulled his gun on me. Pointed it right at my head.”
Will felt his own frustration turn into something churning in his stomach. He knew his brother struggled with PTSD from time to time. He knew that he had nightmares and that there were times when he was constantly on edge- hypervigilant. But Will had never been there to see the full extent of it. “When he realized it was me, I could see it all in his eyes. He was afraid that he could hurt me. That I would be afraid to be around him. If he had any idea how terrified I was, not that he would hurt me but that he would torture himself with it. Nobody can hurt Jay like Jay can. The fallout was awful. He struggled to get past it. I knew that it could never happen again.”
“So, what did you do?”
You looked at your arm and wiggled it. The bangles clank loudly together. “I made it so I can never sneak up on him again. When I went through my Bollywood phase and bought bangles my mom used to complain that the entire neighborhood could hear me when I walked around. I’m sure one highly trained soldier can hear it coming from a mile away.” You look over to meet your gaze with Will again. “Now when I see the signs, I wear them. That is what you do for the people you love.”
A look of understanding and respect is clear in Will’s eyes. You give him a smile and feel the threads of friendship beginning to form on the strong foundation of honesty and shared love of another person. “If you ever tell him that-” Will mimics zipping his lips before taking the last pull of his beer. You two sit in quiet understanding, and you can see Will marinating on your words. Whether they are thoughts about Jay or his relationship with Natalie you were unsure.
Jay returns a few minutes later, setting a vivid blue and green drink in front of you and two bottles of beer for the brothers. You eyed the drink thoughtfully, “Gabby said you had to try it. She called it sweet poison, I think.” You stir it before sipping through the straw. You could taste the rum. Gabby had a habit of being heavy-handed with your drinks. It was good though. You turned to look at Gabby and when she raised her eyebrows in question you gave her an enthusiastic nod. She fist-pumped her accomplishment before turning back to Matt. “That good?”
His strong hand found your thigh under the table, and you smiled at him. You caressed his forearm with one hand while pushing the drink closer to him with the other. “Yeah, try it.” He made a face at you but took a drink from the cup, not the straw. He merely shrugged his shoulders when you asked what he thought. “Yeah, yeah it’s always too sweet for you.” Jay looks over at his brother.
“You okay man?” He questions, Will was being too quiet.
“Yeah,” He runs his fingers through his curls, “I was just thinking... Might be a good time to get away for a while. Maybe do a week trip at Gramp's cabin. Fish and stock up on some more wood for the winter. You want to go?” The offer seems to throw Jay for a second. Between Will’s struggling relationship and Jay being busy with a heavy caseload they hadn’t had much time to spend together. Jay looks over at you and you smile brightly at him squeezing his arm.
“Yeah, I have some time saved up that I need to go through.”
Moving into the blue office was an easy decision to make for Matt, not only because it gave him some peace and quiet from the rowdiness of the others, but because it made it that much easier for you and him to continue sneaking around behind everyone’s back. And it didn’t take you long into today's shift to start playing the dangerous game you two had been playing for God knows how long.
“You look so hot in your Captain's shirt…” You murmured, trailing your arms down the front of his chest and running your fingertips over the leather of his belt before you placed your hand firmly on the hardening bulge beneath his pants. The one you could always make spring up with a simple look. “Would you look at that… Getting so hard for me already, guess I better do something about that.”
You dropped swiftly to your knees, undoing his belt and pants with such speed that Matt didn’t get a second to say anything in return before a low groan left his lips as you wrapped your hand firmly around his cock, the tip already swelling and dripping with pre-cum. He glanced down at you, just in time to see you lick the salty drop from his end, the mere hotness of your tongue almost flooring him as he fell backwards into his chair, which rolled briefly across the room.
“You’re playing a dangerous game.” He whispered, eyelids fluttering when you crawled towards him and ran your tongue painfully slow down the underside of his shaft. “Anyone could walk in here and see you.”
“I guess I better hide then.” You breathed out, placing a sloppy kiss on the tip of his cock before you shuffled backwards, fitting nicely in the space beneath his desk before you rolled him closer to you, the chair barely coming to a stop before you had your mouth around him, taking his full length and gagging when he hit the back of your throat.
Matt’s fist clenched tightly atop the desk, his other hand making its way under it to thread his fingers through your hair, his hips gently bucking as he fucked his throbbing cock into your mouth. You always took him so well, so perfectly that he couldn’t help but think you were made just for him.
“God, you feel so fucking good.” He moaned, your lips tightening around his length as you continued to work your magic against him. He was already about to burst, to drip down your throat as you sucked every last drop out of him, that was, until his office door opened and someone who made this moment all the more arousing for you walked in. Gabby. His fiancée.
“Hey, Matt…” Gabby said with a smile, not noticing the way Matt tensed as he brought his hand out from under the table, straining against the urge to moan your name as you continued to suck his cock, even more now that the woman he was engaged to had just walked in. Talk about risky. And an aphrodisiac.
“Gabby…” Matt exhaled, clenching his fist tighter when you slowly grazed your teeth along his length, pulling back until only the tip remained in your mouth. You always did make a hell of a noise when you sucked him off which is why he wasn’t surprised to soon feel your hand wrap around him, nowhere near gentle as you began to pump him. “You need something?”
“Yeah… But are you… okay? You look like you’re in pain.” Gabby asked with a brief chuckle, Matt’s tense posture unlike anything she’d seen before.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Matt replied, forcing a smile as he swallowed back a groan that had rattled up his chest and almost escaped. There'd be no explaining that, that’s for sure, especially when said groan tasted like your name. “Just a little stomach pain… Must have been those tacos Cruz made for lunch.” He added humorously, almost letting a high pitched whine escape his lips when he felt yours wrap around his tip again, silently telling him to hurry the conversation along as you wanted to absolutely devour him.
And as hot as it would be to have him come in your mouth when the woman he was supposed to marry was in the room, you knew it wasn’t right, but that didn’t mean you weren’t holding back on giving him exactly what he wanted.
Thankfully, Gabby left soon, having interrupted to ask stupid questions that you weren’t paying attention to as you were more focused on Matt’s hardened cock that was between your lips, and the second the door closed, he wheeled himself back a little and allowed you to give it your all.
“Did that turn you on?” He breathed out, both his hands making their way to your hair which he gripped tightly, bucking his hips hard as he throat fucked you, your eyes watering as you held back your gags. “Sucking my dick with my fiancée in the room?”
“So fucking much.” You moaned, your tongue flattening against the very tip of his cock before you wrapped your lips back around it again.
“Then stand up… Lock the door… And let me finish in that tight, little pussy of yours instead.” Matt practically demanded, making you clench your legs as he turned on a tap between them, the wetness gushing out of you as you did what you were told.
The second you were close enough to him, he pulled you forward, kissing you hard enough that you felt your teeth knock against his. The two of you weren’t in love, not by a long shot, but you’d been sleeping together long before he got together with Gabby, and with the way things were going, you’d be continuing to do so long after he married her too. And honestly, the idea of getting caught, only turned you on that much more. And Matt knew that.
“Fuck me, Matt.” You whimpered, his fingers tracing over your slick slit after he’d eagerly undressed your lower half.
“You want me to fuck you?” He teased, pushing one digit briefly into your soaking pussy before pulling back out, using his foot to spread your legs and stop you from clenching them around him.
“I want you to fuck me… Want you to fuck me real good.” You panted, grinding yourself down against the palm of his hand, making him chuckle deeply before he pulled away, turning you round and forcing your chest down onto his now messy desk.
“Oh, I’m gonna fuck you real good.” He whispered into your ear, watching as you bit down hard on your lip when he bottomed out in one quick motion, filling you up completely yet remaining still. “And you better pray that Gabby doesn’t come knocking again cause I don’t think I’d be able to stop if she did.”
