it's crazy how well my dad hits the criteria for abusive behaviour without even trying. yesterday he was laying into me for wasting my life and having no self-respect because i got a barista job so i'd be happier at work while i look for something more long-term and successful and maybe earn some qualifications, harassing me on the phone while i tried to relax after my shift at my current job and guilt tripping me for making a decision about my own life that doesn't affect or involve him in any way. and now today he's sending me job ads which he ends with messages of love and support. it's textbook cyclical abusive behaviour! tear me down, then offer me a way up with the same hand that was just trying to knock me to the ground. take out all his frustration on me in an excruciating tirade of esteem-destroying vitriol, then make me doubt the validity of my resentment by being kind and approachable. flip the switch on a dime so i never feel certain or safe about where i stand. and the worst thing is i know he doesn't even mean it. he thinks he's helping. he thinks what he's doing is good and right and an expression of his love. he genuinely feels bad for hurting me. his concern for my future happiness is real. but it won't prevent him from doing it again next time, or feeling justified in every previous instance.

Can I get your opinion, since you seem to be a pretty straight shooter ?
Do you think that Orym is lying to himself when he says he doesn’t want the sword for revenge or isn’t motivated by revenge? In the same way that Laudna was lying to herself and the others about why she wanted the sword?
I’ve seen a lot of ~discourse~ over whether or not orym is being truthful here and tbh I don’t know what to make of it.
My short answer: I suppose it's possible revenge might be among the many factors motivating him, but I don't believe it's his primary motivator.
My real answer? Who fucking cares.
There has been a pretty consistent pattern in which a lot of people who defend Laudna (and Imogen, for that matter) are so laser-focused on their motivations that they utterly ignore the actual consequences of their actions. Because that's the thing, right? You can make speculative claims about motivations; there is no true way to prove that Orym has absolutely no vengeful bones in his body since there's a myriad of reasons to go after the Vanguard and its leadership of which revenge absolutely is one. But you can't deny actions without someone inconveniently pointing out the truth that the action was, in fact, performed by a particular character. So it's a popular focus for people who don't actually have any evidence of their points.
Intent and motivation is, obviously, useful in understanding what a character might do. It's useful in understanding whether they could perhaps be swayed one way or another (eg: Liliana's intentions are in fact of vital importance for that reason, because if they understand what drives her, they might be able to change her path). But it's useless in judging harm done to other people. If someone kills a pedestrian in a crosswalk because they fell asleep driving because they'd stayed up all night for a charitable cause, or if they kill them because they were drunk driving, someone's still dead because of their actions. (For that matter, and I said this in an earlier post, the pedestrian is also equally dead if the driver were drunk driving because they are a well-intentioned alcoholic who fell off the wagon vs. an asshole who doesn't think the rules apply to them.) I don't blame the victim's family for hating the driver in any of the scenarios, even though I think that the some of the above drivers are far more likely to be people who will attempt to rehabilitate themselves and for whom I as a person more removed from the situation may have more pity.
Ultimately, how others see a character in-world is going to be a measure of their actions. So, for example, it does not actually matter if Imogen floats allying with the Vanguard because she wants to connect with her deadbeat mom; Orym is still justified in being hurt and offended because she said something insensitive in front of him. It's better that Imogen is doing this out of an idealized desire rather than malice; I think far better of her as a character and believe there is room for growth; but that doesn't change what she did and that it was, in fact, insensitive. It speaks well to her that Laudna's pressure point is "this sword could hurt your friend" and not "hey what if you could have a sick evil sword of your own", but she did still attack her friend in the middle of the night even with good intentions.
If Orym wants to kill Ludinus out of vengeance for the deaths of his family or if he wants to do so because Ludinus has done immeasurable harm already and very well might destroy the world (and I certainly do believe Orym is motivated by the latter, even if the former plays a role), Ludinus still ends up dead. Sure, if he's motivated only by revenge it might change how you interact with him, the way how Bells Hells treat Keyleth quite differently than they do Ira, but in terms of analyzing whether any specific action was helpful or harmful? Utterly fucking irrelevant.
Anyone making the argument that Orym might not have the purest motives either, as a means to defend Laudna, is either too dumb to even find the correct questions to ask or deliberately throwing up a smoke screen, and as this post indicates, doesn't fucking matter if they're stupid or malicious - they're a waste of your time. Don't even bother.

Ok let’s talk all things Bridgerton.
First things first, we’ve all binged it the day that it came out, right?
Second, Nicola Coughlan the woman that you are.
Now let’s move on to the serious stuff.
I have to say that so far I’m liking this season but there are some things that I really don’t understand, namely all the subplots. Some of them should’ve either been cut or they should’ve had less screen time. I understand for example the introduction of Francesca and John because of how their story plays out in the future but what about the Mondriches? Don’t get me wrong I like their characters and their chemistry but I really don’t get why they’re such a prominent part of this season, hopefully their presence will be justified in part 2 for it would be heartbreaking to see unnecessary hate towards them.
Another aspect I liked is Eloise and Cressida’s friendship. In the beginning I didn’t think it would be something genuine but turns out that El does actually come to care for Cressida, who is finally not just relegated to being the mean girl.
Kate and Anthony are a dream to watch on screen, their chemistry is out of this world and they most definitely deserve the long ass honeymoon for god knows how hard these two have worked for their families.
I found Francesca to be such an interesting character and her and John were cute but the side couple that I’m really curious about is Violet and lady Danbury’s brother.
The Featheringtons were a highlight of this season to me. They had no business being this funny. Every time a scene with them came on I was prepared to laugh.
Queen Charlotte and lady Danbury are such icons you can’t help but love them.
Last but not least, Benedict. My boy what have they done to you? It’s so painfully obvious that they didn’t know what to do with his character because give me a valid reason why his storyline this time around is him going to bed with a widow; I would’ve much rather liked to see him in those artists’ parties or whatever like he did in season one and maybe explore more of that aspect of his personality in preparation for his own season, which hopefully will be next.
Time to talk about the leads:
I wish we could’ve seen more of Colin’s identity crisis but I feel like whenever the script was lacking Luke did a great job compensating with his body language and facial expressions. Also can we all agree that he’s just so whipped for Pen after their first kiss?
As a fellow wallflower I really related to the scenes where Penelope felt frustrated with the ton and all the socialising. I can confirm that even when we get all dolled up and feel confident in our own skin for once it’s still so hard to put ourselves out there. We feel called by the wall and somehow we find it more fascinating to observe all the different dynamics going on around us rather than actively taking part in them, even if sometimes we want to.
The scenes where Pen threw herself on her bed and sighed? Yep, I felt that.
I honestly didn’t mind that Colin and Pen got together by the end of the first part of the season for we’ve been watching the build up to their relationship for three seasons now. These two have been friends for ages so it’s not like they had to go through all that getting to know each other phase. Furthermore, I’m pretty sure that part 2 will focus on the unfolding of the lady whistledown storyline and having Colin and Pen be together makes more sense because now he loves and wants to marry her leading to an even more crushing reveal.
The carriage scene?! I died and resurrected in the span of like 3 minutes, and that’s just their first intimate scene I don’t know what will happen to me with the ones to come.
These were my overall thoughts on Bridgerton season 3. I can’t wait till part 2 comes out but also I will be deep in exam season so it’ll be a wild ride, let’s hope everything turns out for the best.🐝🩵

Here’s my theory:
Kaiser will goal, but not on his own.
As I said in my Kaiser trauma meta, internal development comes first before external development. Kaiser is currently undergoing internal development; specifically, he’s at the Redefining Proof of Existence stage.
He now recognizes what his true ego is and remembers what the ball really means to him.
But knowing is one thing. Actually applying what you know is another.
Look at Nagi. Look at Rin.
They’ve been around for much longer, but their issues still aren’t resolved. No way is Kaiser beating them to it.
Besides, for Kaiser to even complete the Redefining stage, he must first complete the Recognizing Love stage—which is preceded by the Seeing Himself as Human stage. (“Love” here doesn’t have to be romantic.)
Everything that made me feel like I had become ‘human’… Strip it all away...
He is so close to getting it. Yes, those titles, glory, and pride aren’t what prove his existence and aren’t what make him human. But…
Fighting to prove my current glory won’t allow me to prove my existence any further...
He got to this conclusion by still thinking he needs to actively prove his existence. He believes that he still needs other things to make him “human.” He’s just replacing those superficial titles with his newfound ego to justify why he must exist and…
It’s honestly depressing.
Oh Michael, you are already enough.
You don’t need a goal to prove that you are worthy. Just being alive means you deserve to exist.
And until Kaiser realizes that… he cannot win.
So on his next attempt to goal, he will miss. And it will crush him.
The first stage of development is the Finding Non-Humans stage. And this is where Ness comes in.
Ness still hasn’t shown any growth in this match, and it’s time for him to step up. All he needs to do is create a situation where Kaiser can have a non-moving ball for a few seconds, enough for Kaiser to shoot it without anyone getting in his way. Remember, Kaiser can already do his new shot. He just can’t do it yet with moving balls.
Kaiser being able to goal in such an “easy” circumstance would also leave him, by the end of the match, at just the right level of threatening to Isagi while still having room for growth.
Kaiser is Isagi’s only rival on the world stage, and for him to remain a rival, he must do something in this match. But a perfect goal would kill off all his chances for growth. A semi-perfect goal, however, would give him something else to strive towards.
So Kaiser will goal, but he can only do it with Ness paving the way for him.

ROBLOX N CHILL?! 🎮 ; BAKUGOU KATSUKI
bakugou katsuki x reader
summary: you’ve convinced bakugou to play roblox with you during your sleep over.
authors note: i haven’t proofread it and it’s more of a blurb than a fic (i wrote this when i was obsessed with roblox) also my auto caps are off and im too lazy to turn them on
“what the fuck! i lost!?” katsuki screamed at his phone seeing that he only got voted 7 stars for that round while you got first place. “kats’ try to be on theme next time.” he side eyed you before huffing as the next round was about to start. yes you somehow convinced the katsuki bakugou to play dress to impress with you, although it only took a couple of huffing and puffing from him until he agreed. the next theme was “coquette” which katsuki had no idea what it meant.
“the hell is coquette? like a chef?” you giggled and explained to him before the time ran out and he had no outfit on.
“no kats’, that’s a cook. coquette is cute pink stuff with like bows.” he thought for a moment before grunting and roaming around the game to make an outfit. you and bakugou split ways that round to make your outfits which meant you had no idea how his outfit turned out until it was time to present them. you forced bakugou to give you 5 stars when it was your turn up. at first he kept yelling “HELL NO!” or “AS IF, YOU DONT DESERVE IT.” but eventually your puppy dog eyes worked on him and he gave in. finally it was his turn up and you had to force yourself not to laugh at his totally off theme outfit. he was a flamingo with a tie on.
“kats’s this is not what i meant by pink and bow.” bakugou side eyed you with the most offended look ever. “whatever fucking ever you said pink and a flamingo is pink, bows are the same thing as ties.” he tried justifying his outfit which caused you to crack and let out a laugh.
“I DON’T WANNA PLAY ‘TIS STUPID GAME ANYMORE.” he left the game and huffed with an agitated look on his face as you kept on laughing straight at his face. “shut the hell up roblox nerd.”
you gasped offended and clutched your shirt jokingly. “well excuse me, i am not a roblox nerd”
bakugou rolled his eyes and grunted. “as if, you have matching avatars and these shirts are stupid.” you pinched his bicep and furrowed your eyebrows. “they’re not! i think it’s funny and cute” all you got as a response is his mean side eye.
“whatever, pick a different game already.” you thought for a moment as you readjusted your position on the bed to get more comfortable. “how about the mimic?” you swore you saw sweat form on bakugou’s forehead but ignored it as it was fairly hot in your dorm room so it could just be because of that.
“fine, hurry up and join it.” he grumbled before clicking ‘join game’
you two played together which of course you mad bakugou always go first. your screams would scare him and he’d end up also slightly screaming out of shock.
“it’s just a roblox game, big baby, gonna blow my ears up.” he said while fully focused on the game, trying to figure out the puzzle.
“boy please, your quirk is louder than my screams you’ll be fine.” you rolled your eyes and ended up leaving the game due to the fact that the puzzle was causing a headache for both you and bakugou.
“tch. whatever, hate this stupid game.” he threw his phone on the pillow before crashing down on his back. you looked down at him as you were perched up on your elbow.
“you say that everytime you get defeated.” you pinch his nose and laughed. bakugou raised his eyebrows and scrunched his face.
“whatever, big baby.” he pulled you in, making you lay right ontop of him. “i’m tired, goodnight. don’t move too much or else i’ll wake up.”
just like that he was out like a light. you groaned seeing the clock’s reflection on your bedside table.
“but it’s only 8 pm…”

copying text that I sent a friend, but!
emet reminds eyrie of what they know of their grandfather on their mother’s side.
They never had the chance to meet him, and their mother rarely spoke about him. but he was a kind man—far too kind for the world. And he loved his wife. and the loss of her drove him mad with grief. he treated his children with scorn and distain until he took a long hard look at them, and walked out into the wilderness never to be seen. Their mother said it was the grief that killed him, in the end.
But, this has always been something they’ve known second hand though—they don’t know what it was like. what happened to their grandfather. they can ponder over what grief did to him, but there is no fully understanding what went on inside of a dead man’s head.
And eyrie thinks about that a lot in regards to emet.

Okay my crack theory for Lucy’s god situation:
What if instead of dying Lucy’s god became an archfey and fucked off, forsaking all of their followers. I could see that as justifiable for a minor god—maybe you don’t want your personality and existence to be dependent on a group of people small enough for a really big hurricane to wipe them out. Maybe you want to try your hand at self actualization, which you can’t really do as a god. Whatever.
But that would still mean Lucy’s grades would be screwed for the year, and the whole group would be switched to pass/fail.
Whatever god they’re trying to bring back seems like they want to stay a god, but would also only have a single living cleric so their nature would be heavily influenced by who that cleric is, and could still be controlled. Bringing back an established dead god with living followers probably reduces the risk of the god immediately dying or completely sucking ass/not being powerful like what happened with YES!(?), and we know the Ratgrinders LOVE minimizing risk. And choosing a dead god that represents something Lucy is actually passionate about preaching and proselytizing would make her work as a cleric much easier for her emotionally than, say, switching to Helio and just going through the motions, and bringing back a god would probably look good on college resumes.
Idk, that’s just an alternative theory to Lucy’s god dying based on what’s been established this season.

hear me out for genshin x bsd-
atsushi would be a cryo claymore that scales off atk (since the tiger is shown as extremely powerful and can even cut through space) and optimizes physical dmg
dazai would be a geo sword support that increases elemental res, acting as a debuffer (as no longer human works in the bsd universe) he would also scale off em
kunikida would also be geo but catalyst that deals physical aoe dmg.. he'd be an in-slot dps but not an optimal one imao his talents are much better suited to make him a battery unit
akutagawa would be pyro polearm?? or sword?? and he's obviously a heavy dps that scales off crit rate/dmg and tenma tengai could be similar to cyno's burst when, once activated, increases def while simultaneously raising rashomon's atk
chuuya would be an anemo catalyst dps similar to wanderer bc of his gravity manipulation and he would have a melee stance where he atks from the ground and an elevated state where he uses gravity manipulation to be able to atk off-ground. his ult would be corruption obviously and would parallel xiao's where his atk and crit rate/dmg are sharply increased but he undergoes continuous dmg until the duration of his burst ends (in this state he is vulnerable as his def is lowered and he isn't able to accumulate energy meaning he needs a team built around him, preferably with a healer and a shielder)
how does it feel to be the sexiest person on this site w absolutely the most correct and banger takes anon??.. why are u correct on literally everything

New theory
The ADA member to PM transfer will happen but they'll get their person back when Fukuzawa passes the leadership torch to Kunikida, who WASN'T the one who made a deal with Mori and hence is not technically obligated to keep that promise. Because that was obviously the plan all along right?

Leaving the safety of Sam tumblr and seeing the worst takes possible is sooooooo… just…
(Dean Stan on TikTok called the Sam and dean fight about Amy in 7.06 dean “finally standing up for himself”)
That’s so funny.
Bro, he killed a lady. And then lied about it.
Like, there’s a lot of times where I’ll go, fine, Dean’s being morally ambiguous and he thinks he’s making the right call, sure, sure. This was not one of those times.
(Secret good spn in my head where this and the Benny situation combine in Sam’s mind in such a way that once Jack comes around, that why he becomes so invested in Dean seeing Jack as family. Because he knows that if he doesn’t? If all he can offer is that he would spare Jack, that he thinks Jack isn’t a monster? Dean has disregarded that before. But if Dean can come to that conclusion on his own, strip the title of monster away because he’s become personally invested, that might protect Jack.)

I am NOT starting problems but I think sometimes people take nuanced and complex topics and then, once those have been discussed into the ground, refer to them in not nuanced and oversimplified terms as shorthand. assuming people who see the shorthand will have the context of the broader discussion. but then people see that completely oversimplified shorthand and think that's just what people think and that that's the entirety of the conversation and get (understandably) irritated but like. Nobody is saying that we just got tired of typing a whole paragraph to refer to a concept when we could say a few words
