copying text that I sent a friend, but!
emet reminds eyrie of what they know of their grandfather on their mother’s side.
They never had the chance to meet him, and their mother rarely spoke about him. but he was a kind man—far too kind for the world. And he loved his wife. and the loss of her drove him mad with grief. he treated his children with scorn and distain until he took a long hard look at them, and walked out into the wilderness never to be seen. Their mother said it was the grief that killed him, in the end.
But, this has always been something they’ve known second hand though—they don’t know what it was like. what happened to their grandfather. they can ponder over what grief did to him, but there is no fully understanding what went on inside of a dead man’s head.
And eyrie thinks about that a lot in regards to emet.

mhm hngh I gotta design azem :/
#gotta enter a fuge state and draw her#she’s a she/they because gender rules on who azem used to be are dead#no name besides azem yet. i thought about Charon ironically and I’m thinking about it unironically now#gotta look at more hashtag Greek mythos stuff#anyway tossing around giving her traits that I didn’t give eyrie in the aesthetics department#the dark brown washed out curly hair mostly#she’s got the same dark brown eyes eyrie used to have#or ngl I thought about red eyes#in a way eyrie was a lot more like her in their youth: excitable brash enthusiastic#fiercely protective and attentive#a bright caring and open minded. she loved the world both through the lens of tradegy and love#unlike eyrie she didn’t hold people at this distance of knowing everything about someone and they know nothing about you#she was open and unreserved with their emotions—especially with friends#she was easy to get along with. easy to be exasperated by#she…..had a way of seeing a path someone could take and would want that path for them on her terms#she wanted hyth to believe in himself#*himself and his abilities but she had a singular mind of how to do that#which was endearing at times to frustrating at others#they were close with emet. questionably so and never acted upon closeness#they were dear friends at the very least#I think she would’ve liked meteion#because she liked birds. not to the extent Hermes did#but she admired them#her and eyrie share the same sorta…..hmm feeling towards meteion#which that is complex and I am very tired#owen ffxiv spoilers
