Big Lots Haul
Some shit I bought at Big Lots this weekend:
Individual packs of snacks of popcorn, fruit & bars.
I like these. I am trying to include fruits and snacks in my eating plan. Keto doesn't allow for either of these...and that made me go a little nutz when trying to smash myself into a keto box.
Calorie counts on the bars. Because honestly sometimes I don't know why I buy these, it seems disingenuous.... because they are super processed and that is something I am trying to avoid for the most part. Obviously not going to avoid them if I bought them.
At least I stopped myself from buying shit I already had/have. And some things that the price point just wasn't good on.
They had Lankato products, yay! But I still have some from the last time I bought it.
$9 & change for 4 Quest cookies? No thanks.
Maybe I will do a post to figure out how to pair these in a satisfying way.
I feel like I eat ALOT. Or have the urge to eat alot. 🤔 It Is maddening. Sometimes it is just out of habit, & sometimes I am legitimately not hungry- like I just ate something.
Alot of that comes from being poor as a child and not knowing where my next meal would come from. Obviously I overdid it when food became available.

Doing my online food shopping and I found these £7 tomatoes?! (Why does the tumblr pound sign look like that?)
Since when did Captain Kirk start working for Ocado?

I wanted to send a warning to any fellow vegetarians or vegans, I would avoid trying to order anything from Unreal Deli. I ordered their veggie "roast beef" on January 31st, and it hasn't arrived yet, over a month later. Around Feb 13th I emailed them asking where my order was (it was supposed to arrive with 7-9 days), and they said they were doing something with their factories which was causing order delays by 3-4 weeks. While it technically hasn't been a full 4 weeks since Feb 13th, it's pretty close and I got tired of waiting so I've requested a refund from them, hoping I'll get my money back, especially since their veggie roast beef was quite expensive (I'm used to having to pay out the ass for veggie stuff, but I don't appreciate not getting my food in a timely manner). Update: They did reply and gave me an apology and refund, so there's that. Still, I'm very wary of ever buying anything from them online again. Hopefully I can instead find some of their products in a store.

Hi everyone! It's been a while so I thought I should share this amazing bread I made a few weeks ago.
Cinnamon Roll Bread!
I used regular bread dough to make this plaited loaf so once it has risen once for about 3 hours (or doubled in size) I split the dough into 3 pieces and rolled them out into long thin rectangles. I covered each of the plait pieces with cinnamon sugar.
Then I rolled it up back into a sausage shape and pinched the edges to seal it
I plaited the 3 pieces of dough and brushed it all over with melted vegan butter before leaving it to rise (maximum 1 hour)
I baked it at 200°c for about 25-30 minutes until the bottom sounded hollow.
Brush with more melted vegan butter and serve!! Honestly so good! Like a cinnamon roll crossed with a loaf of bread 🍞

Vegetarian/vegan food shop list for students on a budget
After moving away from home for the first time for university, I found budgeting for food shopping difficult. I struggled to find easy and affordable recipes and grocery lists, so I decided to make one! I will post some recipes separately but here is what I buy for my monthly/weekly shops.

hey, has anyone noticed a weird thing where some of the store brand foods are just- continuously missing now?
Like, I just picked up a few big cans of ravioli a few days ago bc they’re an easy meal, right? But I had to get name brand because there were no store brand ones (which hurt because they’re almost 4 dollars each now). And not that there were none there, like they were out, but there wasn’t any space or label for them on the shelf at all. I didn’t have time to ask anyone that worked there about it (and frankly i doubt I would have gotten any answer besides a shrugged, ‘Sorry I don’t know’).
I noticed the same problem with a bunch of other, similar products too. Like the boxed mixes (rice/pasta), and the dressings.
I’m getting a nebulously bad feeling about this. Am i nuts?

Seven of Cups
Is there anything worse than being at the grocery store when everything has been rearranged and they have a million versions of the same thing yet somehow ran out of stock of the one (1) thing you wanted and now you’re paralysed by anxiety and indecision and - WOW. Relax. This is why you always end up overspending on the fancy beverage you don’t need.
