Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! It’s time for my roundup of fics that I’ve read over the past year!

I haven’t read as many fics as I wish I did this year, mainly due to me slowly getting back into new routines that afford me the time TO do my reading (and because I read more longer Johnlock fics too)! Plus, a lot of my bookmarks this year were for other fandoms when I got the urge to enter into those worlds again. Since I don’t have a lot of Johnlock bookmarks, I’m going to post all of the Johnlock fics I’ve read this year, and then give you guys a glimpse into the other fandoms I enjoyed and bookmarked as well! There are 3 additional fandoms for y'all to enjoy!

I got really into Loki Season 2 and needed more, so most of my bookmarks this year were for Loki, and I had to limit how many fics I suggested here mostly to pad out the rest of this list to give us a nice number! I've chosen mostly the fics I've re-read a LOT, but other than that, this list is pretty much all the fics I’ve bookmarked this year from Sherlock, Good Omens, Moon Knight, and Loki!

Reminder that if you really like a piece of media on the internet to consider saving it to the Internet Archive/Wayback Machine.

I just had to learn the hard way when I went to revisit this one story I really liked, only to find the site it was hosted on no longer exists. (Apparently the site experienced a failure last year, and the owners couldn't fix it and decided to just shut it down entirely.)

So that story is just... gone now, because it wasn't posted anywhere else and no one else had logged that story's url to the archive.

Learn from my mistake, save your fav fics/media to the archive- it's literally as simple as plugging in the link and the Wayback Machine saves a snapshot of it. Because one day the site that media is hosted on may disappear and you'll lose it forever.

My Top 10 Sterek fics! 2022

I had a lot of fun writing my dumb lost fic post so here’s my Ultimate Sterek Fic Rec…after 8 years in this fandom.

1. The Price - theroguesgambit

18k. Canon-ish AU. Mature. The fic that made me get an AO3 account so I could bookmark this & never lose it.

Stiles must surrender the most important thing in his life to protect the town… and no one can figure out what it was.

2. Unsaid the Word - lunarriviera

20k. Academia AU. Explicit. The yearningggg.

In which tenure-track Professor Derek Hale is polite and friendly to Stiles Stilinski, ABD, every year at the academic conference they both attend; and Stiles tries to be contented with pining after him—until after one night at a bar, far too many doubles, and some injudicious texting, thanks to his total inability to know when to stop talking, Stiles just may have ruined everything.

3. The Newlywed Game - Captain_Loki

19k. Canon-ish AU. Mature. The pack goes on a trip! They love each other but don’t realize it <3. Best trope.

Stiles is (still) single when the pack's getaway to the Caribbean comes by (oh misplaced optimism); lucky for him Derek is committed to being uncommitted and even after all these years is still powerless against Stiles' unique forms of persuasion.

Cue a romantic getaway for two: sun, sand, and sarcasm abound...and the two roped into competing in the Resort's version of the Newlywed game. Only it's completely obvious it's going to end in disaster. Probably homicide. Most probably homicide. Plot twist: It doesn't.

4. Birds of a Feather Fuck Together - calrissian18

26k. Dancer!Stiles & Rich!Derek. Explicit. I love angry, badass Stiles & the writing is just so excellent.

Laura is a crusader without a cause, Stiles dances like the whole world's betrayed him and Derek's having trouble getting both feet outside his door.

So far, college has taught Stiles three things:

1) Eight am classes are cruel and unusual and should be avoided at all costs, even if it means having to enroll in something truly hideous instead, like Econ 101. 2) Dorm security is just as tight as Stiles’ orientation leader had promised it would be, and the dude guarding Scott’s dorm in particular does not respond well to bribes.

3) Mrs. McCall clearly had no clue what she was talking about when she’d insisted that Scott and Stiles needed to branch out and room with strangers, so it’s all her fault that Scott ended up with a total dick of a roommate and Stiles got stuck all the way across campus with some guy who has a girlfriend two towns over and is thus never around.
