I'm thinking about the Jedi and Anakin, like you do, and it just cracks me up so much to see any variation of 'they always looked at him with suspicion, like they were waiting for him to mess up.'

Sure, in TPM they're unsure about him because Qui-Gon is dropping a nine year old with a lot of previous issues onto their laps and telling them they really should give him a laser sword and train him in the ways of the supernatural universe bending empathic powers that let you blow things up with your mind and that go haywire if you're emotionally unbalanced. Nobody's thrilled about the prospect.

But after that, honestly, the only Jedi who can ever be said to look at Anakin somewhat like that is Mace, which can be forgiven because 1) the man is Stressed and the people he doesn't expect to mess up are far and few in between, and 2) he and Anakin still have a rather cordial relationship overall, even if they aren't bffs.

But Luminara? Constantly smiles at Anakin. Jocasta? Same. Aayla? Calls him Master Skywalker (respectful, considering they're the same rank in the Order, if maybe not in the Army), is very caring and nice to him. Shaak Ti? Never changes that soft expression of hers. Adi? Big smirk when he shows off, like "aw, would you look at this kid." Plo? You can't even tell how he looks at people. Kit? Biggest grin. Even Piell? He's a grumpy bastard but he's not judgmental. Ki-Adi? Yeah, I guess it does happen once in a while - but he does it with Yoda as well they think he might be under attack from the Dark Side, so really it's him having a suspicious nature, not him targeting Anakin specifically. Seriously, Obi-Wan is more critical of Anakin than Ki-Adi is, and Obi-Wan has an Anakin-shaped blind spot in his soul.

Speaking of Obi-Wan - when he leaves for Utapau in RotS, he has the sparkly eyes of someone so overflowing with love that the gravitational pull of his affection for Anakin is warping the very light around them both.

Jedi freaking like Anakin is what I'm saying.

Obi-Wan: I'm running on happy thoughts and ibuprofen and I'm running out of both

Plo: Would you like to jaywalk with me?

Even Piell: You're going places, kid. Maybe jail.

Yoda: Willing to steal another, I am

Mace: You know what the best way to avoid Alzheimer's is? Caleb:...exercise? Mace: Die young

Shaak Ti: I'm not sure I would trust anyone with my baby. Especially not a man in tights.

Plo: Last time I got in trouble for using the word "quirky." Ahsoka: No, you got in trouble for applying it to the Trade Federation

Kit Fisto: I'm really glad that oranges are one of the foods that have peels. I mean, look at this thing. If it were just left on the tree it would be unusable. I'm kind of surprised more things don't have peels. Depa: I don't know, I feel like a lot of foods have peels Kit: Kit: Oh maker, you're right. This is blowing my mind. Name one food without a peel. Depa: Doritos Kit: You got me there

Ahsoka, struggling with homework: Brains are hard. Yoda: Hrm. Squishy, I thought they were.

Kit, sitting down between Anakin and Padme: Forget leave room for Jesus, leave room for Kit. Every relationship could use a little more Kit.

Depa: Welp. Made direct eye contact with THAT person out the window

Plo: Would you like to be my adopted daughters? Trace: I mean...sure? Plo: Great! You're in.

Anakin, picking a piece of strawberry up off the floor: Do I have to throw this away now or can I just rinse it off and eat it? Ahsoka: I think that's up to you. Obi-Wan: Risk-reward, Anakin. It's just a piece of strawberry. Anakin: Risk *pops strawberry into mouth* Obi-Wan: THAT'S NOT WHAT THAT MEANS

Quinlan: What the fo' shizzle is goin' on in the House of the Commons my dude?

Mace: There's something about putting artichoke on pizza that feels...unethical

Anakin: You're crazy Obi-Wan: I respect your choice Anakin: I don't

Depa: My onion is growing another onion Mace: Congratulations, you're a grandmother

Kit: It ended in a dance party. All the best movies end in dance parties, like Shrek, Shrek 2---

Mace: I am suspicious of the powders

Oppo Rancis: I can't think of his name. There was this senator, he lied and cheated his way into office--- Obi-Wan: Which one?

Depa: I put so much garlic in this it's hurting my eyes. I can't wait to eat it.

Obi-Wan: I'm having an existential crisis. Yoda: *plays Dancing Queen by ABBA*

Note: While this book was put out very recently, indicating an intention for these mentions to be canon, I would be careful of taking these as Hard Fact until they’ve appeared in an actual story somewhere (and sometimes they’re already wrong, 2019′s Master and Apprentice shows Qui-Gon was offered a seat on the Council, while this book says he wasn’t). But they are SUPER FUN details to help expand the world in the meantime!

You ever think about how the Jedi council probably has a private comlink channel to bitch about all the other masters?

The councilmembers’ participation in said channel:

Mace Windu: ✅ doesn’t participate in gossip about other masters but definitely complains about padawans

Adi Gallia: ✅ Gossips more about actions then the people themselves

Agen Kolar:❓sometimes, listens a lot but rarely joins in

Coleman Kcaj: ❓ does not participate except for major events

Coleman Trebor: ✅ Does not participate in gossip per se, but gives his opinion on the actions of others

Depa Billaba: ✅ Acts as a counterbalance, offering reasons for why certain actions may have been taken

Sad Domino Twin Thoughts

(I'm so, so sorry for more depressing posts about these two)

So I was listening to the Dark Side Divas podcast (Episode = Diva Wars: Citadel Times Three) and it got me thinking about Even Piell's funeral and the death of the clones in the Citadel arc.

Obviously, the clone deaths only having focus for about 2 seconds each feeds into the narrative that they're expendable. They were made to be lost. They don't have time to have an individual goodbye for each of the clones in the same way that they can for Piell because they lose too many of them too frequently.

But imagine how Fives must feel in that moment. He's stood there watching them give this jedi the send-off that he deserves, knowing that his own twin's body (or what's left of it at least) has been left elsewhere on the planet.

Echo didn't get a funeral.

Echo didn't get a goodbye.

Echo didn't have friends and family there to honour him.

He was just left there. He's a clone, he's expendable, it doesn't matter what happens to him because he was made to be lost. He doesn't get the integrity of a goodbye.

Cody and Rex are going to be affected by this too. They lost good men that they can't say goodbye to.

But Fives, knowing his twin's body has just been left there, has to watch knowing that not only is he the last Domino, not only is he never going to see his brother again, not only is the last memory of his brother the explosion, but that Echo will never get the burial that he deserves.

And Fives can do nothing but watch.

I love that you do older Star Wars comic dubs! I only have these comics in digital because no matter how hard I look I can’t find the paper comics. I’ve had people from three separate comic book stores say that Star Wars and marvel fans refuse to part with their comics so that’s why 😂

Dude the voice dubs you do are great! I listened to Sings dub first that’s how I found your channel the one with Torgo Tahn and the anzati school

I just watched the Quinlan Vos one with Aayla also with Volfe Karkoo! Great voice acting! From a great cast. Now this is just me putting my opinion, I still loved what you did. However Volfe Karkko threw me off. Because knowing that anzati have spent their lives tailoring themselves for the hunt I mean they have minor shape shifting abilities to change facial features and eye color for crying out loud which is cool 😂 I’ve just always imagined Volfe with being so old that he’s tailored his voice and it being anything other than smooth, almost like the deceiving calm before the storm messed with me. I’ve always thought like Lion King original Scars voice, Loki, or Bram stokers Dracula without the accent. But like I said even with the voice throwing me off it was great, I could tell the work and dedication you and the other voice actors put in and even if Volfe’s voice didn’t line up with what I thought the voice actor still did an amazing job and I hope you all are proud of your work!😄 I hope my input wasn’t offensive and if it was I really do apologize 😓

Depending on what language you want to read the comics in, there might be reprints availible to you. If you want them in english, most of the comics I dub can be found in the "Star Wars Legends Epic Collection" by Marvel.

The one with Aurra Sing and her days in the Anzati School is one I'm especially proud of because I did compose a whole new soundtrack for that one. I've also been hired to compose new music for a different Star Wars project recently, and I intend to reuse that one for my dubs as well.

It's alright you disagree with me on Volfe's voice, and you're entitled to your own headcanon as to what he should sound like. Nontheless, his voice is still one of my favourite parts of the dub and it might still make for an interesting discussion to explain how he ended up with the voice he has now.

As I haven't watched either the Lion King, Brian Stoker's Dracula or anything from the MCU, I am afraid I might not entirely understand your imagination for how he should sound, but if you are saying he should have a calmer and more harmless voice, I respectfully disagre. That sort of voice is what I gave the villians who make more of a secret about their evil intents, such as the Gran Protectorate, or villians who are more outwardly charismatic such as Iaco Stark (who hasn't appeared yet but all of his dialogue has been recorded already).

When it comes to villiany, Volfe Karkko does not beat around the bush, he's an ancient vampiristic alien with a lightsaber, the ability to shoot lightning and a thirst for brains. He's pure evil and I wanted him to have a voice that makes him as terrifying as he needs to be.

Now, one of my favourite voiceover jobs that I did for someone else was in 2017 when I joined the cast of the YouTube webseries known as Dragon Ball Absalon. There, I had the incredible honor of voicing alongside an actor named Roy Bunales, who performed the voice of my character's boss; Captain Horenzo, and I was immediately amazed by the deep, commanding presence his voice brought to his character. In other words, this is a voice actor I've been a fan of even before I did comic dubs.

So you can imagine my exitement when Roy did agree to join the cast of my comic dub series! Originally I wanted him to play Even Piell, but he fell ill and wasn't able to record when we went around to do Emissaries to Malastare. His audition lines can still be heard here, though:

Thankfully, he had recovered from his ailment by the time Darkness rolled around, and I thought, and still do, that he and the role of Volfe Karkko were a match made in heaven. As inspiration for Karkko's performance, I sent him this video of the Lieutenant in Fallout, originally performed by the late Tony Jay, who is another voice actor who gave the exact sort of voice I pictured Karkko having.

I don't know if any of this will change your perception of Karkko's voice in the Darkness dub, but it still was fun for me to go over, and I hope you enjoyed learning about it. Your input wasn't offensive at all, in fact, strongly I appreciate it, and I'm happy to learn about different viewpoints in such great detail.

Chapter 15: A Chance To Save

The two padawans went after their Masters. Ahsoka went to speak with Master Plo Koon while Grim already was planning how she would sneak herself along.

Grim and Ahsoka waited until the time was right before sneaking in to get carbon-frozen. Although Grim hesitated a moment before going along with the plan, she wasn't entirely sure if she wanted to end up like Han had, but she reminded herself this wasn't the same situation and it was a different era altogether. Besides, how else was she going to save Echo and Master Piell?

This was a chance to save lives, and as she had promised the Jedi Council, if there was even the slightest chance she couldn't pass it up.

She looked at Ahsoka, Ahsoka looked at her and gave her a smile, Grim smiled back and she was sure.
