Too early

James Potter x reader
You promised Lily you would meet her in the library to study but it's too early and James want you to stay with him in bed.

Tumblr media
"Where are you going, love?" a very tired James Potter asked. You almost didn't hear him as his words were muffled by the pillows. "I told you, I have to meet Lily in the library. I promised I'd study with her for the final exams and I have canceled our plans twice already."
You were met with silence. You thought he might have fallen asleep again when he spoke.
"What time is it?"
In his half conscious state, James thought he misheard you when your answer was 'close to six thirty'. It took one glance at the clock on the bedside table for him to realize you were actually telling the truth.
"That's too early" he complained sitting up.
"Come back to bed".
You made your way over to the bed, leaning down to place a soft kiss on his forehead. "Sorry love, but I promised Lily I'd be there on time."
Your words seemed to fall on deaf ears as the boy grabbed ahold of your wrist, pulling you towards the bed. "James!" you scolded. "I really have to go."
"I know" he mumbled, wrapping his arms around you, head buried in the crook of your neck. "James, I'm serious."
The boy laughed before placing a quick kiss on your shoulder. "Can't you stay?" he asked quietly. "Just five more minutes."
"Please?" he asked hopefully.
You sighed looking down at your wrist to check the time. "Only five minutes and then I have to go, okay? Otherwise I'm gonna be late."
James cheered, falling backwards onto the bed, pulling you with him. You laughed at his antics, your head resting against his chest.
"I love you" he whispered, lips pressing softly against your forehead.
"I love you too, Bambi."

the jockwood universe (college au)
basically jockwood is a thing now, and these are the generic world building hc's of this au :)
essentially what's going to happen is a bunch of x reader fics set within this universe, all probably slightly different but every one of them set with this same background to them, so... yeah!
(also a special thank you to the multiverse of George for helping answer my pestering questions)
Lockwood is on the football team/part of the university football society
Also the fencing society
George and Lockwood are friends from high school but are in separate circles in college
George is also on the ice hockey team
Kipps is on the football team too
When they were like… preteens or something Kipps and Lockwood had a friendly football match where they were on opposing teams
Lockwood’s team beat Kipps’ by… a lot (and Kipps totally isn’t bitter about it)
Holly is a student rep
Lucy is in debate club and fencing
Skull is a campus cat who hisses and scratches everyone but Lucy
He’s called Skull bc he’s got a weird patch on his head that looks a bit like a skull
And also Lucy seems to always know what Skull wants?? It’s like she can actually talk to him or something 👀
Barnes is a very tired senior lecturer who is the academic advisor to the trio + Holly and Kipps, and he wishes they would stop hogging his office hours
The Winkmans are a family who live in town and sit on their porch every morning shouting abuse at people who walk past
Bobby!!! On the football team and also in band (plays the clarinet probably)
Kate and Ned as well - both on the football team and hang out with Kipps obviously, along with Bobby
Rotwells College is in the same town/city and often competes against the Fittes university (that Penelope is head of)
Flo goes to Rotwells’ and is in their fencing society, but she sneaks onto the Fittes campus all the time to feed the ducks and throw frozen peas at passing students
Visitors - there’s a lot of local folklore and haunted buildings, and Lockwood and Co go and investigate because they’re Like That
Technology is modern, and as such they have phones
And group chats
Obviously Lockwood and Co is the name of Lockwood, Lucy, George, and Holly’s group chat
Lockwood is surprisingly old-fashioned when it comes to technology though? Like he has a record player and cassette tapes in his room that he just whips out every now and then
People’s courses/degrees!
Lockwood’s course is chemical engineering with fine art/art history
George - chemistry
Lucy - English (language and literature)
Holly - English literature + publishing
Kipps - Architecture (but he’s a dick about it)
Ned - Spanish/Spanish + international development
Kat - chemical engineering
Bobby - history
Flo - classical and archaeological studies

My heart wont start anymore, for you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sirius Black x fem!reader
She was in love with him. He never felt the same
1.7k
tw: mention of Y/n, slight swearing
This has been in my drafts since August. The ending is sloppy.
Tumblr media
It had been going on for years now. Ever since she'd first saw him, that September 1st on platform 9¾, she'd only ever had eyes for him.
Stolen glances, innocent brushes of her hand against his, so many signs and yet he never picked up any of them.
Sirius Black was too focused on other girls to notice his best friend pinning after him, even now, after all these years. And yet her feelings never changed.
"So, who's that?" James teasingly asked the black haired boy, glancing towards a ravenclaw girl in their year, who was practically eyefucking Sirius from across the room.
"Jessica Monroe" Sirius smirked, then continued eating his breakfast. "Dude, that's like, the 3rd one this month" Remus pointed out.
"It's not my fault the ladies can't resist me"
"And as it seems, neither can you" Peter chimed in. "At least n/n here hasn't fallen for your charms yet" James joked, eyes set on the only girl in their friend group.
"As if!" She laughed, trying to cover up the rosy color of her cheeks.
Little did James know how wrong he had been.
It wasn’t until two weeks later when things really started going downhill. She had just returned from her perfect's duties when she found Sirius waiting for her in the common room. It was well past midnight and everyone had retired to their dorms long ago.
"Finally, I've been waiting for you for hours" the boy jumped up from his spot on the couch once he saw her. She stared at him confused. He gently grabbed her wrist and dragged her to sit beside him as he plopped himself on the couch.
"What are you even doing down here at this time?"
Sirius ignored her question. "I need to talk to you."
"Well, couldn't it wait until the morning? I'm exhausted" She groaned, leaning her head back on the couch.
He ignored her again.
"I realized something."
His words had her sitting straighter in mere seconds.
Had he finally figured out her feelings for him?
She wasn’t exactly subtle about them either.
He must know.
Sirius looked at her. Whatever it was she was suspecting at that moment could have never even come close to what was yet to come.
"I've been sleeping with Thalia" he breathed out.
It wasn’t unusual for Sirius to sleep with different girls then dump them within the course of the next week. Most of the time he didn’t even mention who it was he was having sex with, so why would bringing her up now?
"Okay?"
She finally said not knowing how else to respond.
"The thing is, I want us to be more. As in, I actually have feelings for her. She makes me the happiest just by smiling at me. So much that makes me want to stay by her side until the end of my days."
"I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm in love with her. Hopelessly and utterly in love."
And it was in that moment when the little candle of hope she had burned out.
The thing was, that even if Sirius was with other girls, it never lasted long simply because he had never loved any of them. The flame was just weaker, flickering.
And now there he was, talking about how he couldn't imagine a world without the blonde Gryffindor, going as far as to admit being in love with her. There was no candle anymore, only a paddle of melted wax where it once had been.
The girl in front of him, blinked back tears as she shook her head. "I want her to ask her on a date '' Sirius continued.
"But when I do, I want it to be perfect. This is where I need your help. You know her better than me, you can tell me what she likes, for example which kind of flowers does she like the most? And what’s her favorite color? Does she prefer a picnic by the black lake or stargazing at the astronomy tower?" the boy continued rambling until the Y/n stopped him.
And as much as it hurt her to do so, she did value his happiness more than hers. In the end she agreed to help him.
It had been three weeks since Sirius and Thalia started dating. And it was safe to say they were stuck to the honeymoon phase.
The two couldn't keep their hands off of each other. They were always touching somehow and every chance they got to kiss, they did. They'd go on dates every other day and more often than not they slept in each other's bed, at the point where Remus had started complaining that she was practically living in their dorm.
Not to mention that they were always together. And when they weren't, which was a rare occurrence, all Sirius could do was talk about her.
She didn’t blame him. Thalia was a girl made out of angel dust, the prettiest and kindest one could ever be. She had to be the sweetest thing to ever walk on this earth.
Yet Y/n couldn’t help but envy her. The blonde was everything she wasn’t.
Once the two reached their one month anniversary it had started to become frustrating. And the closer the couple grew, the further the two friends slipped apart.
Sirius didn’t know what had happened between them. One second she was there, the other one she was gone, completely out of sight. It seemed to him that earth might as well have swallowed her whole and left no trace behind.
In the months following Sirius and Thalia getting together, Y/n had avoided him at any and every cost. She still hung out with the rest of the marauders, they were her best friends after all just not when Sirius was around.
Instead she’d now hang out more with Lily, Marlene and Mary, the three growing closer ever since she started sitting with them at dinner. She’d joke about how her and Marlene were practically married at this point and she’d even had made friends with Regulus (or something along those lines) after finding him up at the astronomy tower.
To say things had changed was an understatement.
It was a slow progress too. Yet Sirius failed to notice it. Until now.
Him and Thalia had had their first argument the night before. It was unusual for the two to fight at all, much less not be on talking terms. Sirius needed to talk to his best friend but how could he do that when she was nowhere to be found.
It was in the common room, well after dinner when Sirius managed to spot her. She was sitting next to Peter, helping him with his potion’s essay.
“Hey” he greeted taking a seat opposite her. She muttered a quiet ‘hi’ back but didn’t look up.
He sat in silence for a little while, waiting for them to finish. When he finally decided he couldn't wait anymore, he cleared his throat. The two looked up at him confused. “Anything you need Sirius?” she asked, rather coldly.
He wasn’t used to her calling him by his first name. It was either Siri or pads and sometimes ‘my star’ but never just plain Sirius. “Yes, actually. I need to talk to you.”
“Well can’t it wait. I have to help Pete with this and then I promised Lily I would put her hair into French braids” she said, trying to make up a lie to avoid him. She didn’t even know how to do French braids.
“It won’t take long, I promise”
“Fine,” She sighed. “What do you want to talk about?”
“Not here” he said, motioning for her to get up before doing so himself. He guided her upstairs to his and the boy’s dorm room. It had been a while since she’d last been there. And yet nothing had changed.
“What is going on with you?” Sirius asked after shutting the door closed and turning to her.
“What? Nothing. Everything is perfectly normal” the girl shrugged trying to play it off.
“Except it isn’t. You are never around anymore. We never talk anymore, you don’t even sit with us in the dining hall. I haven’t seen you since the last full moon and even then you didn’t talk to me. You were my best friend. Us against the world, remember? What the hell happened to us? What the hell happened to you n/n'' The more he spoke the more his voice rose.
“No” she shook her head.
“What do you mean no?” He asked, frustrated.
“Sirius, you were the one who started pulling away. After you got with Thalia you were always with her. And when you weren’t it was your main, not to say only, topic of discussion.”
“That’s not true” he argued.
“Yes it is! Tell me Sirius had you even realized I wasn’t around you as much before today?” she defended.
She was right. He hadn’t.
“And you know what’s worse? I was in love with you. I have been in love with you since the first day on the train.”
She has done it now.
“Do you even know how fucking hard it is? Listening to someone you love constantly about someone else?”
Silence. She hadn't intended to say this but she couldn't have controlled it. She had finally reached her limit.
Sirius looked down at the floor. He hadn't expected to hear such words from her yet he felt extremely guilty.
This was it. Her entire world came crumbling down and it was clear that whatever hope she had for salvaging their friendship was now gone. She had ruined it.
She looked up. Sirius' gaze was still pinned to the floor. It hurt her that he wouldn't even look at her.
She left the room slamming the door shut behind her. There were too many unanswered questions, more than before. There was confusion and then there were mixed feelings. It seemed that nothing was certain anymore.
And in that moment her heart stopped. And she knew, her heart wouldn't start anymore, at least not for him.

And you understand now why they lost their mind and fought the wars
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anthony Lockwood x fem!reader
They are best friends since forever yet they only now realize they're in love with each other.
3.1k
This had been long overdue. But its finally here. I really hope you enjoy it and its not that bad as it is in my head. Also its the first time writting for Lockwood and I have yet to read the books because I'm a slow reader and I'm still stuck at a thausand boy kisses by Tillie Cole. This based off of one of my favourite Taylor Swift songs, You're in love (Taylor's Version).
Tumblr media
The tension in the room was unbearable. It wasn't unusual for a case to go horribly wrong but it was a rare occurrence that one of them would get hurt.
Last night's case could be rightfully referred to as a disaster. It had all gone wrong from the very start. The little information they had on the house's history, Lucy forgetting the salt bombs, the client's lie about the number of ghosts they'd have to face,it had all led up to this.
No one had gotten seriously injured but in Lockwood's eyes even a broken wrist was too much of a damage. Especially when it was his best friend that had suffered the injury.
It was well past 3 am now and tiredness was evident among the team. After a difficult case and a trip to the hospital, the last thing the three of them needed was their boss scolding them and pointing out everything they had done wrongly.
Lockwood sighed, waving them off and assured them that they'd continue this conversation in the morning to which the rest of his team groaned. George was the first to go up to his room, complaining about how he needed to shower. Lucy lingered for a bit, finishing the rest of her tea in one big sip before bidding them goodnight and retiring to her room as well.
That left the two best friends alone in the kitchen. Lockwood got up from his seat, only now noticing how his tea had grown cold. He placed the kettle on the stove and opted for chamomile while the girl lit the three candles in the middle of the table. As he placed the two mugs on the table she turned off the lights and sat down next to the boy. "It's hurting my eyes" She shrugged at the boy's confused expression.
Taking a small sip from the steaming mug in front of him, Lockwood turned to look at her again. Only this time his gaze didn't give away irritation or anger. His eyes had softened, the previous flames had died down and in their place was now worry and adoration.
This was a side of Anthony Lockwood few people were privileged to see, and even to them it was a rare sight. It was a look meant just for her, his best friend since he could remember.
His gaze shifted from her eyes to her injured wrist that now had a cast wrapped around it. "Does it hurt?" He asked gently, grabbing her wrist to inspect it, even though one couldn't notice anything out of place due to the cast.
"I'll get over it. We both know I've had worst" She shrugged. Anthony sighed. He didn't like the idea of her getting hurt, especially because of him. Reaching over the table for the marker George had abandoned he smiled a little once he saw the little doodle on the thinking cloth. Another version of George’s take on angry Lockwood.
“Well in his defense, it did look like smoke was coming out of your ears” Y/n chuckled once she saw what he was looking at. Lockwood didn’t argue, only uncapped the marker gently grabbed her injured wrist again.
“Can I?” he asked looking up from confirmation. The girl nodded, moving closer so that it would be easier for him to write on her cast. And right there, in the dimly lit kitchen and in the early hours of the morning, Lockwood wrote his name in black ink. He was careful, writing it on her inner wrist where no one could see his first name, Anthony, written in calligraphic letters, if they didn’t already know.
“People will think I’m your property Lockwood” she joked. “As if you could ever be someone’s property” he argued.
He hoped that the dim light would hide the rosy color that was spreading on his cheeks and that she couldn’t feel the heat radiating off his face. And, truth is, there wasn’t much proof of Lockwood’s blushing. But she knew him too well and could tell by the tiny and subtle change in his demeanor.
She had seen just enough to know.
It had been roughly a week since that night when someone else noticed the carefully written word. She and Lucy had been hanging out in their shared room, goofing around, flipping through magazines, painting each other’s nails and gossiping. It was one of the very few nights they didn’t have to deal with visitors and hauntings, which was a rare occurrence.
“Oh come on! I want to sign your cast” Lucy complained, holding up a pink glitter pen. “No Luce, you’re going to ruin it” she said, letting herself fall back onto the bed, sighing. It had been a long day. Between spending the better half of the day with George at the Archives, doing research for tomorrow night’s case, coming back to find Lucy and Lockwood arguing about who would go out to buy the groceries (which was pointless as Y/n offered to go instead, to which Lockwood insisted he’d be the one to do it since she had a broken wrist and, according to him, couldn’t carry a single bag but still let her tag along with him) and dancing with Lucy to whatever song the radio was playing she had become exhausted.
“How come Lockwood can sign your cast but I can’t” she pouted. Her words had her sitting back up in mere seconds. “What? You two know that I’m not stupid enough not to notice. God, even George isn’t that oblivious”.
“George knows too?” the other asked, confused.
Lucy nodded in response. The girl groaned, falling back onto the bed, already knowing what’s coming.
“So, has he asked you out yet or-”
A pillow was thrown in her face, cutting her off. “Shut up” Y/n said, blushing, head down looking at her hands in a futile attempt to hide the pink color that was rising to her cheeks. Lucy took hold of the pillow and threw it back at her friend with little force so as to not hurt her. “You're blushing” she announced laughing at her friend.
“Oh shut up!
"Are you sure you're going to be alright on your own?" asked Lockwood, standing in the middle of their living room, their equipment bags placed down on the floor beside him. Her and Lockwood had been arguing back and forth all day about whether she could, or not, join tonight's case. It had already been four weeks since the accident that led to breaking her good wrist and the girl was growing tired of not being able to accompany the others on their nightly adventures. However no one could deny that she couldn’t yet fully handle a rapier so Lockwood won that argument.
"I could still come with you, '' she offered, hoping that he would finally cave in. "N/n we've already been through this'' he scolded, like a parent would their child, which was quite funny since it usually was the other way around whenever Lockwood decided to do something reckless (which was at least once during every case).
"Fine."
"You still haven't answered my question," he pointed out.
She sighed. "Yes, Anthony I'm going to be just fine. I can handle myself. Besides you are the ones staying out after curfew and putting yourself in danger while fighting ghosts."
"Like you don't do the same every other night."
"Apparently, I don't," she said, raising her bandaged wrist.
Lockwood laughed at her antics. "As soon as you can handle your rapier without dropping it every two minutes, I'll let you come with us. I promise. But until then you have to rest."
"I think I've had enough rest for the next eternity" she groaned.
"I just don't want to risk you getting hurt again. I want you to be safe. And taking you with us when you can't use your rapier means you can't defend yourself. And as much as I'd love to be your personal knight, I can't risk anything happening to you."
"I know Anth" she said, moving forward to pull him in a hug. The boy copied her actions, pressing a soft kiss on top of her head.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Lucy hated that I love you, didn't seem to be doing anything for the two. She hated that they were both so clueless to their feelings for one another. She hated that they couldn't just kiss already. She hated that she had to sit through all this painfully slow slow burn. But most of all she hated that she'd have to ruin their little moment.
"Come on lovebirds. We have a ghost to take down" George interrupted them before Lucy could even say anything.
The Lockwood&Co agency was out of commision for the holidays.
It usually felt nice to have a break. Not when it was the Christmas season. There were, simply, too many things to do, and that left all four of the friends exhausted. And now, well into the evening of Christmas Eve, the house was for once quiet.
George and Lucy had retired to their bedrooms a little while ago, which left Lockwood and Y/n. The two best friends were sitting side by side on the couch, sharing a blanket. Two empty mugs were abandoned on the coffee table in front of them and the radio played softly in the background.
And while Lockwood was immersed in the book he was reading, his best friend was resting her head on his shoulder, her eyes drifting from the book he was reading to the window.
The usually bleak weather had been replaced by a lighter sky and a soft white had started to cover everything. Noticing this, the girl tugged on the sleeve of his sweatshirt and lifted her head from his shoulder. This seemed to gain his attention as he averted his gaze from the book and looked at her confused.
"It's snowing,'' she announced. Getting up from the couch she pulled on her snow boots quickly and reached for their coats, throwing Lockwood his before putting her own on.
He didn't need to ask to know what that meant. Actually he knew just the moment she pointed the change of weather out to him. He knew there was no point in arguing with her, so instead he put on his coat and started searching for his own pair of snow boots.
When he had successfully put them on he was quick to follow the girl out the door leading to their backyard. And just as the door closed behind him, he felt something cold hit the back of his head. "Hey" he exclaimed, faking agitation as he turned to face her.
The girl gave him an innocent smile which didn't last long when a few seconds later she broke out laughing. Lockwood was amused. For a moment he froze in his place, not because of the cold or the snow but because he was mesmerized by the girl in front of him and time stood still for a second.
What could he have possibly done to deserve an angel like her?
The boy was pulled out of his trance when another snowball hit his face and his best friend was suddenly laughing harder than before.
He smiled a little, scooping up snow from the ground and throwing the snowball at her. The girl stopped laughing, clearly not expecting it. She glared at the boy as if he was an old friend that had betrayed her and turned into her worst enemy before her face broke into a soft smile as she picked up snow to throw back at him.
"Oh, it's on" Lockwood shook his head as he copied her actions.
Their little snowball fight lasted a bit over 20 minutes and it consisted of throwing snowballs at each other, laughing and giggling as Lockwood chased her around. Eventually they both got tired and when he finally caught her he lost his balance and ended up tackling her to the ground.
He rolled on his back and the two laid there, on the snowy ground, for a few minutes, laughing until they eventually calmed down. There was a silence then, one that lasted only a few seconds and yet it was enough for Anthony John Lockwood to realize that he didn't just love his best friend but he was in love with her.
Pulling himself up, he offered his hand for her to take. She joined their hands and let him pull her up. The two stood there, looking into each others' eyes with their faces only centimeters apart.
Anthony paused, as if wanting to say something but had decided against it at the last second. Then, his eyes never once leaving hers, he said "You're my best friend."
He had told her these words many times yet this once, they seemed to hold a completely different meaning. One that suggested that maybe she wasn't only his best friend and that maybe the line between platonic and romantic love had become blurry.
And it was at that moment that she realized that he was in love. With her.
He was in love with her.
And so was she.
She didn't give it a second thought, because if she had then she would have never actually done it, before pulling him closer and pressing her lips against his in a soft kiss.
And for the second time that day, time stood still for Anthony Lockwood.
And when she pulled away, she looked into his eyes and she told him that "I love you too."
And this time, the phrase she so commonly used with him held a different much deeper and more sacred.
The next morning she woke up in his room, to an empty bed. The clock on the bedside table read a few minutes after seven. She didn't bother changing out of his shirt that he had given her last night to sleep in, because she didn't want to accidentally wake up Lucy, with whom she shared a room with in the process. Instead she walked straight into the kitchen, knowing Lockwood would most likely be there.
And he was, sitting at the table, a steaming cup of tea in front of him and another mug placed directly opposite from him, where she would usually sit.
They greeted each other with a simple morning and she walked over to him first, leaving a kiss on his cheek before settling in her seat, her hand reaching over the table for his. Then there was a quiet "Merry Christmas" and after that a comfortable silence followed.
The two didn't need to exchange words, they understood each other perfectly even without saying things out loud.
She wished every morning could be like this. She wished she'd never have to worry about a case going wrong again or him doing something reckless that would put his life in danger as he more often than not did. She wished she could freeze time and stay in that moment forever.
None of them heard the timer going off. Not when the smell of something burning filled the room.
It was still a wonder for George how Lockwood had managed to burn the toast.
"Did you know that Lockwood has a picture of you in his wallet?" Lucy asked, staring absent-mindendly at the ceiling while laying in her bed. "He does?" asked the girl who lay next to her, turning to look at her friend.
"Mhm" the redhead nodded. "I noticed it yesterday when we went grocery shopping together," she continued.
"That's a bit weird. To keep a picture of your girlfriend in your wallet" Y/n pointed out.
"I actually find it really romantic. It's like he wants to have a piece of you with him all the time. I didn't really believe it could happen outside of romance novels" Lucy shrugged. "Hm. Who knew Lockwood could be such a romantic. Don't tell him I told you though because he will refuse it."
"That he keeps a picture of me in his wallet or that you called him a romantic?" the other girl laughed.
"I was talking about the picture but I guess he would have the same reaction in both cases."
She never really knew what it was like to be in love. She didn't know how to expect it would feel. She didn't even know how one falls in love with another, so much that they would go to the ends of the earth and sacrifice both themselves and the world for the other person. She thought it was something that existed purely in books, novels that would keep her up all night. And even if it did, she thought that she would never find it. That it wasn’t for her.
She never believed that she would find the Mr. Darcy to her Elizabeth Bennet; she'd never meet someone who would give up becoming a god for her like Percy Jackson did for Annabeth Chase.
Or at least she didn't used to believe.
But in the end, she found everything she could have asked for and more in the face of Anthony Lockwood, first her best friend and now her lover.
And suddenly, she now understood why some lost their minds and others chose to fight the wars, and even why certain people spend their whole lives trying to put the feeling of loving someone in such a way into words.
Because really, no amount of words, no matter how many or meaningful they were, could ever even begin to describe how she felt for him.

Regulus Black x fem!reader
In which they meet at the astronomy tower and end up sharing a star.
1.2k
tw: a tiny bit of angst but mainly fluff
I wrote this in separate parts at 2am while I was on vacation so this is me apologizing in advance.
Tumblr media
She only ever visited the astronomy tower when she was upset. Which wasn't frequently. It was one of the perks that came with being friends with the Marauders. The boys never failed to cheer her up.
Tonight was one of those rare occasions when she was feeling blue and her friends were nowhere in sight. Sirius had taken Remus on yet another date whilst James was studying with Lily at the common room and Peter was off, doing god knows what.
Their lives didn't revolve around her and she had never believed otherwise even for a second. So, instead she made her way to the astronomy tower, the only place she could really be alone with herself.
What she didn't expect was the sound of someone's cries as she walked up the last of the marble steps. At first, she thought she had imagined it. Her eyes weren't accustomed to the dark yet and the sobs were muffled.
She didn't speak, she just made her way to the figure sitting on the cold stone ground. Still in silence, she sat down next to them, not too close so that they wouldn't feel uncomfortable but not too far either.
The boy noticed her prescence immediately. He turned his head to see who had sat down next to him. Tear filled grey eyes met hers and the world seemed to stop.
Regulus Black knew who the girl sitting next to him was very well. He first started to notice her because she was always around his brother and his idiotic friends. Then he started to notice her in their shared classes, at breakfast and dinner and he had caught himself searching for her in the hallways and missing her presence in classes he didn't share with her.
So he didn't just know her name, or that she was in the same year as him. He knew what kind of music she liked, what her favourite color was, what routes she took to her classes, even how she took her tea.
To him she was fascinating. How she cared for everyone and always made sure everything was alright. How she kept giving and giving and getting little in return and still being content.
If you asked him, he'd say that she deserved the world. And even more than that. She deserved the universe.
Because in his eyes she did. She was the sun his world revolved around. He had never spoken to her, never interacted with her in any way yet she meant more to him than she would ever know or anyone could ever imagine.
He couldn't put it into words. Maybe because he had never felt this way before, loved in such a way.
He did the move and neither did she. The tears stopped eventually. He hated crying in front of others, he hated been vulnerable. The last thing he wanted was for others to think he was weak.
With her it was different. She was so kind to his brother and his friends and practically everyone she interacted with (no matter if she knew them well or not at all). And if there was one thing Regulus knew was that she wouldn't change now.
And so they sat there, in the dark on the cold marble floor admiring the clear night sky in silence.
Regulus wondered if she had any idea who he was.
She did. Even in a world where he wasn't Sirius's brother she was sure he would have drawn her attention.
She'd notice him in every class she had with him. He was aware of his gaze set on her and her friends when they were in the great hall. She never minded or gave it much thought since Sirius was always around but she knew it was there.
She had noticed the dark cycles under his eyes that appeared more prominent since last year. She had noticed how he grew quieter and quieter, even around his friends. How he picked the skin on his fingertips or how he bit the inside of his cheek when he was anxious.
She noticed how he frequented the library and how (on his way) you would defend the first years, even against his friends.
She knew too much about him, she noticed too much about him.
She was afraid that even turning her head in his direction when she knew he was starring or taking his hands in hers to stop him from picking on the skin of his fingers when they sat next to each other in potion class (slughorn had assigned them as partners) would lead into an argument between not only her and Sirius but the Marauders too.
So she didn't turn her head to meet his eyes in the great hall or in the hallway, nor did she try to stop his anxious habits in fear that someone would see (and believe me, word travells around fast here) or even worse it would be Sirius who noticed the small interactions.
Until now.
She didn't have to look down to know Regulus was in fact picking the skin of his fingers to the point where blood would be spilling soon. She took his hands in hers with no hesitation, and rested her head against his shoulder.
He froze. He didn't know what to do or how to act. He expected her to ask him what was wrong, and what would he answer then?
He wasn't one to share the things that were on his mind, thoughts that tortured him for far too long. And she knew that. Or well, she had figured it out.
So she didn't ask.
"I'm really failing Astronomy." She sighed.
Regulus could see right through her lie. He was grateful she didn't pressure him into talking, instead giving him something else to talk about in case he didn't like the silence.
That's how it started.
"That one, right there, is Andromeda. It's named after the princess of Ethiopia, whom, acoording to Greek mythology was saved by the hero Perseus"
He continued going on and on, pointing at a different star once he'd run out of things to say about the previous one.
The girl noticed how Regulus seemed to have skipped Sirius and the Canis Major but she didn't point it out. Considering what their parents did to Sirius she couldn't even begin to imagine what Regulus had gone through since the older boy ran away.
"And that is Regulus"
"It must be so cool. To have your own star, I mean" the girl spoke. Regulus stayed quiet.
"You know how some people, whether they are friends or lovers or, they will point out at the star and say 'that stat is ours now' and everytime they look at the night sky, they'd search for that particular star and it will always make them think of the other person?" The girl went on.
"It could be your star" Regulus interrupted.
The girl looked at him surprised. "What?" She breathed out.
"Regulus, it could be your star" he repeated.
"But its already yours"
"Then it can be ours"
The girl smiled whilst nodding at him.
From that night on, they'd grown closer. Even closer than friends.
They'd meet in empty classrooms away from the prying eyes of the other Hogwarts students. They'd spend nights together in the room of requirement. They'd sit next to each other in the library, studying in silence, their hands clappsed together under the table.
More often than not, they'd visit the astronomy tower and look at the night sky, eyes searching for their star every once in a while.

He loves cuddles. He'd use any excuse to cuddle with you.
He'd wrap his arms around you as a greeting everytime he sees you.
He'd also kiss your cheek. It's like a way of his to say 'Good morning'.
Sirius would tease you two non stop.
So would Remus and Lily.
He'd get excited over small things, like walks around the castle, as long as it was only you and him.
He'd plan every single one of your dates.
Probably have weekly dates on an established days (Saturday evening dates for example).
Automatically becoming a member of the Marauders.
Being really close with Remus. He'd get jealous over the bond you two have.
Sirius would complain you're stealing his boyfriend.
Him and James would flirt with each other when you two ignore them, just to make you jealous but in reality you would just try not to burst out laughing bacuse they were making fools out of themselves.
He'd try to get you to prank the rest if the Marauders.
He's overprotective and gets jealous easily.
He'd walk you to your classes, even if you don't have them with him.
Resulting in him being late in his classes.
He'd sent you little notes in the middle of classes.
You'd get him study with you, promising a kiss as a reward.
You'd stay up late, making plans for the future.
He'd try to impress you in every way possible.
He'd demand a 'Good luck' kiss before every match of his.
Lots of 'I love you' and 'you're my world'.
That man loves you too much for his own good.
He'd make sure you know how much he loves you all the time.
Compliments.
More compliments.
That man's love language is words of affection, really.

Broken promises
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Regulus Black x fem!Potter!reader
In which the reader sacrifices herself for Regulus, breaking most of their promises along the way.
1.9k
Tw: Angst, mentions of blood, death, my shitty writting.
Tumblr media
It was well into the night. The pair was sitting on the floor of the Astronomy Tower, a sky painted with countless stars and an almost full moon, just for them to observe. They sat in silence, the boy's head on her shoulder as the girl played with the rings on his fingers.
"Reg?" The girl spoke. Her words hushed, holding a questioning tone. It wasn't unlike the boy to fall asleep on her. It was a habit he seemed to have gained over the past year.
Many sleepless nights, tossing and turning in his bed, unable to fall asleep. It only worsened now, that their last year in Hogwarts was coming to a close, and with the war ahead of them, it seemed like the world had turned against him.
The boy hummed in response, nuzzling his head further into the crook of her neck. "Do you ever think of our lives after we graduate?" She asked, the hesitation evident in her voice.
The boy stiffed but didn't say anything, head still resting on her shoulder. "I know you don't like talking about it but I just can't help it" the girl was quick to apologise when she got no answer.
Regulus sighed and moved his head to look up. Silently he went to sit in front of her, taking her hands in his as he sat back down. "I'm scared" he breathed out after a long moment of silence. "I'm scared of what will happen to us. Of what they'll do to you if they ever find out."
"Reggie-"
"Mon amour, you mean the world to me. You're the reason I haven't given up on myself yet. I just found the light in my life and I don't want to loose it just yet. I don't want to lose you."
Her hand squeezed his a bit tighter, a silent attempt to comfort her lover. The boy was fighting back tears even at the thought of it happening. "I can't loose you. I love you" He managed to get out before breaking into tears.
The girl let go of his hand, instead pulling him closer and wrapping her arms around his frame. She let his head rest on her chest, right where her heart was. Regulus’ arms around the girl's waist, his grip tight fearing that she would disappear into thin air otherwise.
Quiet sobs and cries left the boy's lips, his tears dampening the fabric of the girl's sweater. Cheek resting on top of his head, the girl rubbed her hands up and down his back whilst whispering sweet nothings.
"I love you too" the girl said at last, his grip tightening just a little bit. It was the first time they'd say those three words to each other. The boy was a caught off guard. The tears stopped immediately, head no longer resting against her chest, green eyes starring dirwctlu into her e/c ones.
"You do?"
The girl chuckled quietly, pulling him closer once again. "Reggie, I love you so so much, you have no idea" She said, pressing a soft kiss on the crown of his head.
"I love you more" Regulus said, titling his head upwards. Smilling he pressed a soft kiss against the girls lips.
Pulling away he sighed, head going back to rest on her chest. "I won't let anything happen to you. I love you too much for that. We both know it's going to be hard."
"I'll always find my way back to you. I promise."
"I promise as well."
The promise was sealed with yet another kiss between the two before they went back to starring at the night sky in silence. Only now, they found a bit of comfort in the knowledge that they would stay with each other until the end.
When Y/n and Regulus first announced their relationship to their close friends, they were all shocked at the news. They both had done a very good job at hiding their blooming love for each other.
Late night meetings, stolen glances, forbidden kisses in dark corridors, studying in the library next to each other without speaking a word, yet holding hands under the table and they still managed to miss every little interaction between the two that had been going on for the past year.
Things stopped being as easy as they were before. From Regulus' side he had Barty, who at first, didn't support their relationship at all.
The next month was filled with him complaining non-stop, refusing to accept the news.
" Y/n Potter? Come on Regulus. A Potter?"
Eventually he came to terms with the relationship between the two. He didn't have anything against her, he was just overprotective over his friends, and Regulus was no exception.
After being talked into (well, more like threated) to spend time with her by both Regulus and Evan he understood why his friend had fallen in love with her. The both became friends quickly after that, and a brother-sister relationship started blooming between the two.
Telling the Marauders was a whole different story.
Surprisingly, James didn't even argue with his sister's decision. He knew something was up from the moment the girl had entered the Great Hall with a smile plastered on her face, a smile that hadn't left for the past 8 months. He was happy as long as his sister was happy. However he intended to have a talk with Regulus soon.
Peter and Remus were always supportive no matter what, as long as she didn't get hurt. It was to no one's surprise that they were extremely happy for her.
The problem came with Sirius. At first he was in denial, believing it was just a humourless prank of hers.
Then came the realisation. The worst part is, he didn't shout at her, nor did he try to change her desicion of being with his brother. He just got up and left, going upstairs to the boys' shared dorm.
Y/n wished that he would yell, that he would put up a fight. She preferred it from this.
For months on end, he wouldn't speak to her and would avoid her at all costs. He left the room whenever she entered, he refused to even look at her. And it hurt.
Sirius believed that maybe if she couldn't see how bad of a person his brother was then he would give her another reason for her to leave Regulus. She was too stubborn anyway, he could never get her to change her mind.
Those antics of his stopped after he accidently stumbled upon them in an empty corridor. They were holding hands, quietly talking. Then Regulus said something that earned a laugh from the girl.
All it took was for Sirius to look at how his brother's eyes brightened up at the sound for him to know that he really cared for her. He looked at her as if she was his whole world, which he guessed that she probably was. And she looked at him as if he had hanged the stars in the night sky.
His anger disappeared at the sight of the two.
And Sirius knew the little boy he had grown up with was still there, somewhere.
The same evening Sirius waited for Regulus by the entrance of the Slytherin common room and made him promise he'd take care of her and that he'd never hurt her. A promise Regulus had already made to James Potter.
But promises are meant to be broken.
"It will be fine. I'll leave if things go bad, I promise but please let me come with you" the girl pleaded. Their little argument had already been going on for an hour now and if Regulus wanted to get the Horcrux tonight he would have to leave now.
"You're really stubborn, you know?" He sighed, finally agreeing.
"I drink the potion, you and Kreacher take the locket and get out of here immediately okay? You let me deal with the rest."
Nodding, the girl knew there was no point in arguing. "Just let me have one last kiss, will you?" The girl asked.
Regulus didn't like the sound of it, her words made it sound as if it would be the last one they'd ever share. Not waiting for an answer she grabbed the collar of his shirt, pressing her lips against him. It was a short kiss, it had been over as soon as it had started.
Next thing he knew, Y/n was already drinking the potion.
She was reckless, too reckless for her own good. She always had been. And now the damage was beyond repair.
Regulus had to give her the rest of the potion. He hated seeing her in so much pain but there was nothing else he could do except holding her, wishpering encouraging words as she finished the rest of the potion.
He gave the locket to Kreacher, ordering him to go back to 12 Grimmauld Place. The elf could only obey, leaving his master and the girl in the cave.
The inferis were aleady crawling onto the island. Regulus was doing his best fighting them off. But the girl besides him wasn't.
The Black heir managed to get the both of them out of the cave. But the damage had already been done. The girl was bleeding out. And he couldn't do anything.
He couldn't risk apparating with her in such a state.
"Reggie?" she called out, hand blindly reaching for his. "No darling, don't speak. You need to save your energy, okay?" he hushed her. He needed all the time he could get. He would come up with something. He had to. For her shake.
"Regulus" she called out again. "You and I both know there's no saving me."
Regulus wanted to scream. "No, no, you're going to be okay. You aren't dying. Not on me, you can't please."
He was begging. Y/n had never heard him begging. Never. He would demand, order, get mad, give the silent treatment but never beg. "Please just don't close your eyes, please."
"You'll be fine" she was struggling, chocking on her own blood. "Promise me you won't give up."
"No, please, don't leave me" the poor boy was in tears. But Y/n had already came to terms with her death and now so should he. "Promise me" the girl repeated.
"I promise, I promise, please just don't give up just yet."
"I'm sorry Reggie. I love you."
Her eyes closed and his world collapsed. "No, please, no" the boy begged, resting his forehead against hers. "You promised. You'd promised you'd stand by my side through all of it."
That wasn't the only promise that was broken that night. So were the promises he had made to James and Sirius, promises that he would prtect her at all costs. And along with those so were the promises of their future together, promises of their love and devotion.
Regulus made one last promise that night. He would never promise anything again.

Doomed from the very start
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Edmund Pevensie x Female!Reader
In which they didn't know who each other was, yet they still fell in love with one another.
1.4k
tw: clinche, and it's giving fairytail (or maybe it's just me).
This is set after the first movie. Both Edmund and reader are aged up. Maybe around 16 or 17.
Tumblr media
Yesterday's masquerade ball was all everyone seemed to talk about. Maybe because it was the first one Cair Paravel had hosted in a while or maybe because it was the first one organised by the Pevensie siblings.
Most people they encountered with congratulated them. Susan took great pride in it, as she was the one who was responsible for organising every little detail. Peter, who was The High King, also took great pride in the ball's success.
Under any other circumstances, Edmund would be the first to complain about his brother's ego that only kept growing. But that wasn't the case today. The boy had barely been able to focus in anything else but her.
Last Night, at the Ball
The younger king of the two couldn't be seen, hiding in the shadows and avoiding any short of people that walked his way. From Peter, who wanted him to meet the rulers of near kingdoms and talk about, well some short of politics, to pretty princesses his age, dressed in beautiful gowns asking him to dance with them.
He preferred to keep his distance from the crowds, opting to hide in the dark corners of the room, from where he could easily see people dancing and conversing.
The soft music coming from the orchestra. the constant but subtle chatter and the occasional laughs, the clinking noises the glasses made had him feel both nervous and at ease in the same time.
He could be dancing with the prettiest girl of this entire magical world, but he didn't. Instead he sat there, leaning against the wall, watching the events of the night unfold before his eyes.
"What are you doing here?" a voice asked. The raven haired boy immediately turned his head to face a girl. Maybe it was because of the mask, black with silver details, that did a really good job at disguising her. She seemed familiar, as if he had seen her in a picture or randomly passed by her someday without realising it.
Her eyes were a beautiful shade of e/c and Edmund found himself getting lost in them. Shaking his head he snapped out of it, mentally taking notes of her appearance. Her skin tone, her h/c hair that were pulled into an elegant bun, the black dress she was wearing.
Everything about her had something magnetic, something that pulled him towards her. The boy sighed, realising he had been starring for way too long without answering her question. "I'm hiding from my brother".
The girl looked at him and smiled. "Your brother must suck then" she said. "Well, yeah sometimes" he admitted. The girl looked at him up and down, as if taking in his appearance. The young prince didn't fail to notice as a soft pink tainted his cheeks.
The girl chuckled at the sight of him blushing. "What's your name?" she asked. Edmund was surprised. No one had ever asked for his name since his crowning, it was well known that he was King Edmund the Just. "I'm Edmund" the boy answered, and for once he didn't feel like he had to pretend being someone else.
The girl shook his hand, an act unusual for girls, as most greeted him and his siblings with a curtsey and not a handshake. "What's yours?" he asked, letting go of her hand. "That's for me to know and you to find out".
"Hey, that's not fair!" the boy complained. "I told you my name so now you owe me yours".
"Is there any other way I could repay you that's not telling you my name" she asked hopefully. She knew the moment he learned her name he wouldn't want to be anywhere near her. She was no fool, she knew of the rivalry between his kingdom and hers.
The boy thought about her offer for a bit. "How about a dance then?" he asked hopefully. He wanted a chance to hold her and touch her as they swayed back and forth. He wanted to know what her touch felt like.
The girl agreed, knowing deep down that not one part of her could resist him. And even though she shouldn't, she knew she was already falling for him.
When the song ended, he took her hand and dragged her in the middle of the room. He stood there, placing a gentle hand on her waist as her arm found his shoulder.
The orchestra started to play a slower tune and they started dancing. Edmund was trying not to step on her feet, but it was clear he was failing miserably. "Sorry" he'd apologise. "I'm still not very good at this".
"It's fine" the girl would respond. "It took me years to learn how to dance properly" the girl chuckled, thinking back to the countless times she spent trying not to step on her partner’s feet.
The smile he gave her lit a flame in her heart. She was melting on the inside, and it scared her. The girl was used to being independent and confident. But something about Edmund made her feel shy and completely dependent.
By the end of the song they both had lost control over their feelings. They had fallen in love with one another, yet still pretended they didn't.
The boy smiled and let go of her waist, but still grasping her hand. He pulled her with him, walking towards the wide open French windows that lead to the balcony.
"Where are we going?" Y/n asked, a laugh escaping her lips as the boy continued to drag her. "Just follow me"
The made their way down the marble stairs that lead down to the garden. The music of the crowded room was fading with every step they took.
Making their way through trees and bushes the boy stopped in front of a fountain. It was made from white marble, a statue of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of beauty decorating it. The sound of water flowing form under the goddess' feet was the only one that could be heard in the quiet of the night.
"It's so beautiful" the girl voiced out, amazed by the sight in front of her. "It really is" the boy agreed. Only he was talking about her.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" the girl asked softly, noticing how close her face was to his. "You are really pretty".
The boy's hand rested on her cheek as he slowly took off the mask that was hiding her face. Y/n didn't say anything, nor did she try to pull away or stop him.
The mask fell off his hands as he gazed at her now unmasked face, refusing to believe how pretty she was. How could someone be so beautiful?
There was no reason to pretend anymore. "Would it be weird if I told you I like you" the boy asked in a hushed tone. "No, I think it would be weirder if I told you I feel the same way".
The boy leaned in, lips brushing against hers. He looked into her eyes one last time before closing the distance that remained between them.
Their lips connected and time stopped for the both of them. If they could stay like this forever they would.
But they couldn't. Eventually the pulled apart, both of them struggling to breath. "This is wrong" the girl spoke. They boy' expression turned to a confused one.
"What? Why?"
"You'll learn eventually" the girl sighed before pulling him in for a second kiss. This time it was longer, full of passion and love. The girl pulled away, resting her forehead against hers.
"I have to go" she said, taking a step back.
"Wait!" the boy shouted alarmed grabbing her wrist. "Can I have one last kiss?"
The girl nodded and leaned in for a third time. This time it was more of a goodbye kiss.
The ghost of her lips still lingered over Edmund's, even when she said godbye to him before walking away. Turning back one last time the girl looked at him, as if trying to mesmerise every feature of the boy's face.
"Y/n"
Edmund just stood there, watching her walk away. Y/n. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.
Only when she was completely out of sight did he realise who she actually was and why she seemed familiar.
And in that moment he knew, they were doomed from the start.

I never was the best to you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sirius Black x Female!Reader, Subtle Remus Lupin x Female!Reader.
In which you and Sirius break up and you realise you were never the best to him.
1.6k
tw: angst, depression, not eating, suicidal thoughts (kind of), my shitty writting.
This imagine is based off of the song 'Best' by Gracie Abrams. I'm going to be honest 'Good Riddance' destroyed what was left of my mental health. Also this is my first attempt writting something so sorry if it sucks (because I'm pretty sure it does).
Tumblr media
The first week after things between me and him ended wasn't easy. I didn't have the energy to get out of bed, the thought only exhausted me. I skipped most of the day's meals, not only becasue I didn't have an appetite but I wanted to avoid him at all costs. Which meant avoiding the Great Hall and being absent from both breakfats and dinner.
Lily would offer bring food in my dorm for me after dinner.
I knew she was worried about me. Both her and the Marauders, minus Sirius of course, had made many fruitless attempts to get me to do something productive, or do anything at all. James went as far as saying I could borrow his invisibility cloak, which was his most prized possesion, so that I could walk around the castle without him noticing.
Remus offered to take me to 'The Three Broomsticks' on a Saturday afternoon, which was by far their busiest day, even though he hated crowded places. Lilly cancelled her date with James just so me and her, along with Marlene, Dorcas and Mary, who also ditched their plans for me, could hang out all day. "Think of it as an 'Only Girls’ day. No boys allowed" she had said.
I had turned every single one of their offers down.
I must really have sucked at being a friend back then.
They gave me many chances to move on and to forget, to feel alive again. But I felt like I couldn't let go of him just yet so I decided to stay dead, let the days pass without a meaning in them. It was too soon.
The one time Lily managed to get me out of bed that week was on a gloomy Thursday afternoon, when she walked with me to the Great Hall for dinner. I was relieved when I took notice of Sirius' absence. I wasn't sure I could face him yet.
But it wasn't ten minutes later when Sirius walked into the Great Hall with a dark haired Ravenclaw, who was laughing over something he had said moments ago, holding his hand. My heart only broke into tinier of pieces at the sight, ones that I thought I wouldn't be able to restore.
The boy stopped, kissing the girl on the lips before they parted her going to sit by her friends at the Ravenclaw table while he headed our way. Only when he turned his head to scan the table for the rest of the Marauders did he notice me.
His expression didn't flicker, that silly smile still lingering on his face. That silly smile I grew to love, only to hate later on. He walked over to us and sat next to Prongs, who happened to be sitting across from me.
He sighed and started filling his plate with food before eating. I stayed there frozen. How could he have gotten over us in such a short time. It was like I never meant anything to him. But even if I did back then, I clearly don't now.
So I sat there, looking at him casually conversing with Oliver, the Gryffindor boy in our year who happened to sit next to him. We were so close, yet so far apart.
I regretted not listening to Lily telling me not to fall in love with him back then, because it would end up with my heart broken. I regretted the memories I made with him, I regretted that he was most, if not all, of my firsts. I regretted him.
He was the worst of my crimes. The one that caused me such pain that if I could turn back time, I'd never commit.
Remus, who seemed to notice my discomfort, placed a hand on my thigh softly as if he wanted to tell me 'It's okay, I'm here for you, still'. The subtle move had me melting. Why couldn't Sirius be more like his friend?
Then the Ravenclaw girl from earlier came over. She took Oliver's seat next to Sirius and interlocked their hands. Valerie, she introduced herself. She was in the year below us and seemed to be completely oblivious to the fact that it hadn't even been a full week since me and Sirius had broken up.
I told her my name, for I didn't her to think I had anything against her. Anything at all. It didn't matter that the boy I loved most had left me just to get with her a few days later.
Deep down I wanted to scream.
Instead I sat silently, Remus' hand still on my thigh, watching the two interact. And at that moment I waved goodbye to all the versions of myself I was when he was still with me. 'Good Riddance'.
Looking back, I an see why things took such a turn. I was never good enough for him, let alone the best. And I would never be, no matter how much I tried.
I would lie to him constantly. I'd tell him I was alright, even when I was clearly struggling. I kept my problems to myself, not daring to let him completely in, fearing he would leave me if he saw how bad things actually were.
I felt like I had to make up a completely different version of my life, like I had to hide all my flaws and struggles. I felt like I had to create this perfect image for him to love me.
I knew I shouldn't but I couldn't help but keep lying to him. It was like a little strange addiction of mine.
Even when I completely isolated myself he'd try to stay, he'd try to help me. He might not have known what I was going through at the moment but he still tried to be supportive and made sure it was known to me that he cared.
And even though I knew he was there for me, I still passed him away and built countless of walls around me so I could keep my struggles secret. So I would still be perfect in his eyes, when in truth everything was falling apart.
He had every right to leave. He could have anyone he wanted, he of course wouldn't want to stay with someone who was drowning in their own thoughts. He could be with someone so much better than me, so much prettier than me, someone so much smarter. Someone like Valerie.
I never was the best to him.
So why would he stay with me?
We were so different; it is even surprising how we got together in the first place. He was loud and brave, and always voiced out his thoughts. I was quiet and shy, and afraid of almost everything. The dark, thunders, growing up, making decisions.
I feel terrible because I gave such gravity to so little things that didn't matter at all. He was struggling too, with his family and his brother but instead of helping him through his problems I neglected him. Focusing on my own demons.
That's what I regret, most of all. That I didn't care enough for him, or at least I didn't show it.
If I could, I would change every little thing about the way I handled it.
He let me in. He trusted me with his struggles and his fears, he let me see the sensitive side of him. He let himself break down in front of me, he let me see him in a vulnerable position. He gave me the best of himself, never hiding anything from me.
It wass my fault, it was all my fault and I'd never let myself forget this.
But he moved on. He healed and kept going like we never existed while I was still right where he had left me. I was losing every last bit of self control I had, my grip on reality slipping. I was building so many walls around me that it was suffocating.
But I deserved it. I deserved it all. For what I did to him.
Sometimes I wonder if everyone would be better off without me. Maybe if I wasn't there the Marauders and the girls wouldn't have to worry about me. My parents wouldn't have to be disappointed in their child. My teachers wouldn't worry about my well being, that seemed to have taken a toll on my grades. Sirius wouldn’t have felt neglected once again by a person he loved.
Sometimes I just wish I could end it.
It would be okay if I didn't exist in the first place. But if I left now, the only thing I would achieve was to wound the ones that still cared. And I couldn't bring myself to do that.
So I stayed.
And things eventually got better.
I still regret it.

I'm in love with you that's why

"Potter asked me out on a date again" Lily announced as she threw her bag on the floor. Our dorm room was empty except for the two of us, Marlene was spending the afternoon with Dorcas and Mary was off doing Merlin knows what with her new boyfriend.
"Seriously Lils, I don't see why you don't just say yes to him" I sighed, closing the book in front of me. Lily sat on my bed oposite of me, cross-legged with a serious look on her face. "I don't like him like that" the girl stated simply.
"But you do like him Lily. If you don't then why are you always starring at him and then blush and smile every time he compliments you?" I asked, voice rising slightly.
I'd first realised I liked girls in 3rd year. It was confusing, I suddenly found myself thinking about the redhead, wondering what it would be like to be her lover. Wondering how her lips would feel against mine, wondering how it would be to hold her in my arms.
It hurt me having to watch her make heart eyes at James all of last year. It hurt every time she talked about her boy crushes and how other guys had asked her out.
It hurt me holding her hand platonically with the knowledge that we would never be anything more than that. Friends. She was my friend but I wasn't sure if I could be hers. Not when I thought of her in the way I did.
If she got with James then maybe, just maybe, I would finally come to terms with my feeling never being reciprocated. But as long as it continues, it's only causing more pain.
"No. See that's where you're wrong. I don't like him. I can't like him" the girl argued, face turning redder by the second, red enough to match the shade of her hair.
"James is a perfectly fine boy, Lily. He's sweet and kind and caring. Why can't you like him?" I was yelling at this point.
"I'm in love with you that's why!" she finally snapped, a sole tear of frustration escaping her eyes.
Silence. I didn't dare to move. She liked me? No she was in love with me? I'm delusional. Lily doesn't even like girls. She would have told me if she did. This is all work of my imagination, an illusion.
"I can't love James the way he loves me because I'm in love with you" she repeated, quieter this time.
"Lily I-"
There were no words to describe what I was feeling. Happiness, surprise, disbelief, fear. All at once. Everything seemed so distand from reality, as if i had grown numb to the world around me. I couldn't find it in myself to utter a word.
I was frozen, and could do nothing but stare at the girl in front of me who was now panicking.
"I'm sorry. Merlin I'm so sorry N/n" the girl spoke at the absence of a reply. Getting up from my bed, she tugged on her hair, clearly frustrated.
"I'm so stupid, so so, stupid" she groaned as tears threatened to fall. "I'm so stupid for ever thinking you'd ever like me back. Merlin I'm so stupid for even thinking you liked women."
She was rambling, apologising over and over again. Even in such state she still looked as beautiful as ever.
Breaking out of my frozen state, I quickly got up and walked towards her. Not thinking anything twice, I placed a hand on her cheek, pulled her in and pressed my lips against her.
They were soft. So, so soft. It felt better than I'd ever imagine. Better than I'd ever dream of it. She placed a hand behind my neck, pulling me even closer to her.
She was kissing me back. This wasn't a dream, no, not anymore.
Pulling away I opened my eyes to look directly into hers. Had she been starring at me this whole time? "I had no idea you had feeling for girls" I finally let out.
"I could say the same about you."
"Fair enough. But you go first." The redhead chuckled. "I only realised it a few months ago, when I found myself missing you with everything in myself over the summer" she admitted, cheeks still rosy.
Silence settles between us. Until I broke it, to answer her previous question.
"It was third year. And you had just had that glow up and were looking as beautiful as ever" I could practically feel the blood rushing to my cheeks as I spoke.
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"I was scared." Scared of making things weird between us. Marlene was the only one I'd told at that time.
Silence. Not like the one before, there was no tension between us anymore.
"So what does that make us?" She asked.
"We could be together. As more than friends. If you want to, of course. Or we could go on with our lives and pretend nothing ever happened between us. Though I'm not particulary fond of the second case".
"You'll have to get down on one knee" she laughed.
I chuckled, dropping on the floor. "Lily Evans, will you make me the happiest girl in the world and be my girlfriend?" I asked teasingly, holding her hand.
"Yes, yes, a million times yes" She jumped up and down.
I smiled at her antics, standing up to kiss her for a second time. It wasn't a short-lived kiss like the last one, it was one full of passion and I could feel the sparks fly around us.
Later that night, I found myself in Lily's bed, holding her close to me under the covers as we both started to drift off.
"You know I think it's for the better things turned out this way" I mumbled. "I'm pretty sure James has a thing for Sirius' brother anyway."

One where it's your birthday
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remus Lupin x reader
Headcanon
0.3k
This is set the year after your graduation from hogwarts. Let's pretend there's no war going on everyone moves forward with their lives without a worry in the world (as they should have).
Tumblr media
Remus would wake up before you did . He'd probably stare at you wondering how he got so lucky (that's probably a habit of his).
He'd get out of bed carefully so he wouldn't wake you up.
He'd cook you breakfast. Whatever you like best, he would make it for you, whether it takes five minutes or two hours to prepare it.
He'd surprise you with breakfast in bed.
"You didn't have to do all of this"
He'd argue back, telling you he wanted to.
You two would probably cuddle for the rest of the morning.
Or maybe he would read to you while you played with his hair.
His present would probably be something small but with a great meaning behind it.
You would adore it anyway because he was the one that gave it to you.
He'd take the day off of work so you two could spend all the day together.
He'd bring you flowers and a box of heart shaped chocolates (which you'd end up sharing)
You'd joke about how he loves chocolate more than you
"Love, I'm sorry but you're right!"
You'd probably invite your friends over for dinner.
He wouldn't let you cook anything, he wouldn't even let you help him, because it's your special day and you shouldn't have to do anything as he claimed.
Sirius would joke about Moony being crazy in love with you.
The boys would tease you two all night long.
Even Peter would talk about how you two should get married (if you hadn't done so in secret on a random Sunday already, beacause according to him it wouldn't be unlikely for the two of you. Who would want to have two annoying, loud and overly emotional children desrtoying their wedding anyway?)
At any mention of marriage Remus would blush and look down at your interlocked hands.
Probably because he had already bought a ring months ago but couldn't bring himself to ask you the question.
You'd probably have a drink or two.
He wouldn't let you clean up after everyone had left, instead telling you to head to bed and that he would join you as soon as he finished tidying up.
Falling asleep in his arms like every other night.
The next morning you'd probably wake up in his arms with a terrible headache but it wouldn't matter because last night was everything you could ask for and more.
