Not to mention he’s like the only one who’s actually upfront with you, I don’t feel like he really hid anything unless you’re dense -no offense-.

Another thing, just because Haarlep says Raphael is bad in bed doesn’t mean he actually is. I feel a lot of individuals forget what Haarlep is 😂 sex is basically their thing.

Not to mention his little helper is basically always saying “he can’t stop talking about you.”

Plus, hold on, we can romance Mizora but not him… Nah!!!

A lot of people have said Gortash, which at first I didn’t really understand but that’s because I was a huge simp for Karlach and if you’ve played you know…

However the more I play and the more I read into I do understand. He could’ve used a nice redemption after everything he’s been through. He was a pawn, someone to be used, and honestly that was his whole life. So it would’ve been nice if Tav was an option for him.

I feel they could’ve had two endings for him and Tav, a good and a bad. Good being his redemption where Tav opens his eyes like what Tav did for Astarion and then the Bad obviously they rule together.

I feel Larian made a lot of great choices but I also feel they missed a lot of potential, which hopefully they continue to listen to their audience and add more routes in the future. So far they have been so one can hope. I also feel like all of these characters were left to where they could be potentially added later down the road. Fingers crossed!!!

So he’s going in fully prepared to be insulted, berated, overall just not treated right. But……the parents don't mention anything about his past. They don’t ask, they don’t press him about it. They compliment him, how nice he is, how he dresses well. They don’t nag him when he stims after s/o said something funny. They have something with peaches in it for dessert that he practically cries over. He’s so perplexed over the whole situation but honestly it’s in the best way possible. Very excited to see s/o’s parents again.

Macaque - there’s no way s/o’s parents would like him. C’mon, he’s a demon, he’s hurt people, he’s got this big scar over his eye…but they love him. They like his stories, how cool and calm he is, and the jokes he makes. He’s never felt so accepted before except for when he’s with s/o. Definitely thinks it’s a prank or a cruel joke, but it’s not, and he DEFINITELY cries about it. He would love to see them again. Thinks about how kind they were to him every day because it makes him happy that not only does he have s/o in his life, he’s also got their parents to support him as well. 10/10.

When he found out Starlight Knight isn’t a thing here, he’d be sad as hell. You’d probably have to try to find similar shows for him to watch. (Though honestly he probably has the whole show saved on his phone.)

The moment he saw you, he felt captivated by your beauty, whether or not the meeting went well or if you fell on your face. The song is just so cheerful and wholesome. He probably told you that the song reminded him of you, and that sparked the romantic relationship. Every time this sequence plays he’ll just look at you (if/when you watch the movie). Honestly it’s hard to explain this one. It’s just so soft and sweet and really describes how he feels about you. Also as the youngest and a, quoting Gandalf here, “fool of a Took!”, the line “and I’ll be, better when I’m older…” is just- MWAH. This song reminds me of him honestly. He is, as the song states, “your crying shoulder”, the “greatest fan of your life”. Everything about you takes his breath away. We all know he’s the best singer in the fellowship, and its just gorgeous to listen to him sing it, especially because he means every word. He also probably dedicated this to you early on in the relationship, and it was definitely your wedding song (if you got married).

Meriadoc Brandybuck - Nothing - Bruno Major

Honestly you wouldn’t expect such a lowkey song for such a high energy guy, but he’s a sucker for lazy days and sweet moments. He’s, as he likes to say, ‘work-avoidant’, and just wants to spend all his time on you. He also finds the song easy to sing to you, so thats a plus. The lyrics just resonate with him, similar to my picks for Pippin and Frodo. He’s very competitive, but he honestly doesn’t mind losing to you. He pretends like romantic or soft movies don’t make him cry, even if they do. He gets the appeal of going out and drinking and laughing, but just staying at home with you just sounds so much nicer to him. Its all about the little things in life with him, the small moments, the laughs, and every ‘I love you’ that makes him feel lighter than air.

He knows how dangerous his work and life is, and he’s always had this fear of leaving you behind (hence the ‘something bad is ‘bout to happen to me’). He only sees you in his life, no matter who else is wanting for his attention, he’s so devoted to you. He only hopes that you’ll stay by his side and fight with him, and he’s not willing to give up on you. No, he refuses to give up when you are involved, and he fights so hard to keep you safe and protected. The song also is easy to mumble to you when he’s tired, and it’s soothing for him to listen to. It’s just a symbol of how much you mean in his life, and how he trusts you with his heart.

Unabashed Swiftie in general, but this song just hits different. So first off he probably already called you his lover, and when he found the song he thought it was perfect. I can definitely see him learning guitar and playing this song for you as well. Into the actual song analysis, this song frames his want to be close to you, the mysterious way he was drawn to you, the way he felt like time flew by whenever you talked. Also I feel like he’s made jealous relatively easily, and that’s also in the song. His heart has been borrowed before, but he’s glad he’s ended up with you, to hear your jokes, save you seats, and call you his lover. He definitely likes to sing this to you late in the night, and i can see him humming/mumbling it whenever the two of you just stand and hold each other. Its so wholesome, and he loves the way your eyes light up when he sings it with all the love in his heart, all of it for you.

Gimli - If You Love Her - Forrest Blakk

Honestly, he’s not a very observant dwarf, but he does pay attention to you. He knows you, and he cares a lot. Protective of you to a fault, but just wants everyone to know that they shouldn’t take you or your heart for granted. He hates to admit it, but he thinks you are precious (I’M SORRy-) and every small thing about you is worth taking note of. And he does, so he knows exactly how to make you happier. He’s your personal hype-man, and truly believes that you are the best thing he has ever had. He uses the song as a guidebook on how to treat you, and while he won’t say it, or sing it, he does play this song for you and leave in a huff, just hoping you’ll know this song is meant to say that he loves you. (He might even dub it over with your preferred pronouns for the big reveal, and it’s quite funny)

Boromir - Summer Love - The Workday Release

Boromir really thinks this song demonstrates his feelings towards you, and how he wishes you’d stick around with him. You remind him of the summer, warm, bright and hopeful. It was so simple for him to fall in love (it’s like counting 1,2,3). He’s awestruck by your beauty, and doesn’t find it enough to dream about you, he needs to be holding your hand, feeling your presence. He wants to face the world with you there next to him. You always manage to give him a smile, make sense to him, and be honest. He’s not sure how to articulate everything he feels around you, so he just says that he loves you.

But once Luffy is regressed and so is Sanji, OH BOY— someone's hat is gonna catch on fire. They're a very chaotic duo and Luffy is the only person who manages to bring that side of Sanji out and active

(ᴗ ᴗ ) ; calls everyone "mama/dadda" and calls Luffy his "bubby/baba"! He once called Zoro "unkie zozo" and he forever called him that

(ᴗ ᴗ ) ; loves to cook, but it becomes a challenge when little. so he gets chopper or Nami to help him mostly! He made everyone vanilla milkshakes and it's really the only thing he can make (he just puts milk in a cup and a LOAD of sugar in it. But hey he's trying)

(ᴗ ᴗ ) ; ⚠️ he still smokes when he's regressed. He often feels bad and insecure about it, but after alot of comfort and just in general getting comfortable in his age regression, he doesn't feel bad about it anymore

(ᴗ ᴗ ) ; autistic little, needs some form of music to keep him calm when he's upset. If not that the second best option is giving him his stuffie which works 90% of the time

(ᴗ ᴗ ) ; he regresses to cope. He regressed for as long as he remembered. But it didn't become more obvious until after they left the island, in which he started to look more into it

(ᴗ ᴗ ) ; has a sweetooth. He might've stolen like a full bag of candy in which he keeps it under his bed for him and Luffy to devour over time

Scar woke to darkness and a pounding headache that spiked with each rattle of the wagon. Disoriented and confused, he rolled over with a long groan, blinking his surroundings into focus. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust, but as sleep loosened its grip he became more aware.

Narrowing his eyes, Scar did his best to ignore the ever-present headache as he examined his surroundings. It seemed to be a small wagon of sorts, one drawn by horses if the clip-clop of hooves outside were any indication. He noted that his hands were tied behind his back, the rope rough and scratchy against his skin. Nevertheless, he managed to push himself up into a sitting position, leaning back against the side of the wagon.

That’s when he noticed Grian.

His friend was curled up in a ball on the other side of the wagon, soft whimpers and grunts of pain coming from him whenever the wagon went over a rough bump or jostled too much. The smell of blood around him was strong, and as Scar scrambled over he noticed just how bloodstained the bandages had become.

Guilt shot through him upon seeing this. Here he was again, powerless and unable to help his friends. It seemed that every time he tried to make things better, to do something right, he just messed up again. Now they were both in trouble, and Grian was badly hurt. All because Scar had been selfish and thought he deserved to have a family.

Looking down at Grian, Scar scooted forward and nudged him gently with his knee. “G? G, wake up. Come on, you’re the lightest sleeper I know. Don’t do this to me now…”

Grian’s eyes fluttered open, and he groaned softly. Pain clouded eyes caught Scar’s worried gaze before slipping shut again. Scar’s panic only grew with that, and he nudged Grian again. “C’mon buddy, stay with me. I know it hurts but you gotta keep your eyes open, okay?” He looked around frantically for anything that could possibly help, cursing himself once more for not bringing a weapon. “Shoot, um… hold on, Grian, I’ll get you help.” Somehow.

After another moment of scrambling for ideas, Scar sighed. “Okay. Okay, fine. I don’t think this is going to work but…” Raising his voice, he called out, “hey! Hey, can someone help? My friend is kinda dying here!” He continued to shout until the wagon came to a halt, the sound of heavy footsteps approaching.

The wagon cover was pulled back, the sudden light flooding in causing Scar to squint, turning his head away so his eyes could adjust. Blinking rapidly, he glanced back to see the sword wielding mercenary from before glaring down at him. “Okay, okay, listen. My friend is hurt.” Scar jerked his head in Grian’s direction. “Can you help him? Please? I promise I won’t ask anything else of you-”

The mercenary groaned, rolling his eyes. “Why should I? Give me one good reason as to why I shouldn’t toss the bird out and leave him for the vultures.”

Scar’s eyes widened almost imperceptibly, his thoughts running wild. He glanced over at his friend, unconscious and bleeding, and made a decision. Taking a deep breath, he looked back up at the mercenary. “We’re soulbound.” The lie came with ease, years of manipulation and swindling coming in handy. “You want me alive, right? Then you’ll have to keep him alive, too.”

“Oh, for crying out loud.” The man groaned, running a hand through his hair. “You have got to be kidding me.” He lowered his hand to glare at Scar. “Fine. Your soulmate will get new bandages and potions when we stop at the next village. But no shenanigans, got it?”

Scar grinned. He would’ve given a mock salute were he able to. “Yessir! Absolutely no shenaniganry back here, no siree!”

“Whatever.” With that, the wagon cover was pulled back over the wagon, and Scar was plunged into darkness once more.

He waited until the horses started moving again to talk to Grian. “Did you hear that? It’s gonna be okay, G. We’re going to get you help, and then we can… I don’t know, figure a way out of here. Okay?”

Grian just let out a soft mumble, curling in on himself further. His wings wrapped around his trembling form like a blanket, and Scar heaved a sigh. Leaning back against the wagon again, he gazed at his friend with worry and compassion. “...Mumbo’s gonna kill us when we get back,” he muttered.

Honestly, Mumbo was a bit worried for his friends. He had always been a bit of a nervous man, though he had always put his faith in Grian’s capabilities. But now…

“Can you please stop pacing?” Iskall asked, watching as Mumbo continued to stride back and forth anxiously.

“What if they’re hurt? What if they’re stuck out there, all alone? What if-?” Mumbo was interrupted by Iskall’s soft laughter. “What? I’m just worried!”

“They aren’t children, Mumbo. They’ll be fine.” Iskall stood, placing a hand on Mumbo’s shoulder reassuringly. “Come on. Let's get something to drink. That way you can relax. Alright?”

Mumbo hesitated, before sighing. “...alright, I suppose.”

Whatever was happening, Mumbo just had to trust his friends would be alright.

on occasion you'll be reading books together and one of you will ask to do it again and you indulge each other

yeah sure he's a spoiled brat, but i think by the second time he makes it a point for you to believe him

not to mention, when you ask over and over he breaks a little (he did kill you after all)

you might end up comforting him, but he comforts you in the process as well

he'd be frustrated by the fifth time, but it'd give way to tears when he sees tears in your eyes

he just pulls you close like his twin would but without a word and very sudden.

1. coryo’s reaction at the the beginning is very real. “i thought we were over this.”

2. r trying to get jessup to the open grave reaper organised is everything to me. she deserves all the hugs.

3. her being closest to the person she was when she left district 12, while offering her life in exchange for a few words feels she is trying to hold onto her identity.

4. “My heart was heavy, for its trust had been / Abused, its kindness answered with foul wrong;” there is no way she doesn’t remember the first two lines of this poem but that part is personal and she gets to keep it.

5. not gonna lie, coral made me laugh there. imagine you’re fighting to death and there’s a girl who conveys her every thought through poems.

6. how i love reaper, honestly. he genuinely might be the best of them. it would be horrible if he were to be hit by the drones.

7. “What would be the use in helping her now?” oh, the reality and the corruption it brings.

8. SHE SMILED AT CORAL!! this might be the “death” of our “juliet”, i wonder when will “romeo” “die”.

9. coryo finally seems to have learned how to twist the truth, good for him!

10. TAKE THE GIRL OUT OF THERE! it’s horrible enough to have experienced all of that but to spend a night at the same spot with only guilt to keep company is terrifying.

11. wondering if coryo regrets what he did because she has done things that she isn’t proud of, empathy might become the very thing that keeps her sane. also i think this is the first time she called him coriolanus, internally.

12. her look on everything is being challenged, from her morals to her love. this actually made me cry.

13. is coryo not going to be exiled? with the compact seemingly unnoticed and the note having an explanation to exist there, maybe he gets away.

1. literally lol- he’s like “damn i JUST find out you’re still alive and you’re giving up??”

2. ugh yeah 🥺 and he deserved it too like i literally think she saw no other options. she was sure getting him there would cost her her life and it was worth it.

3. yes this!! i think she had a few minutes of clarity almost- where later on she thinks ab how the “old her” is just a voice in the back of her mind it’s really not! only when her life is threatened not on her terms does she really stray from that relentless empathy that really makes her who she is.

4. yuppp you get it you get it.

5. NO LITERALLY like if i was coral i wouldn’t have patience for that either like i do get it hahaha

6. REAPERRRR he deserved so much better and i LOVED his character especially in the book. he’s so complex and i do honestly think he’s quite similar to r, but he just put up this show that he was a threat and she never made that attempt. all he wanted was to protect dill. i’ll cry for him forever.

7. YUP. i feel like she doesn’t even want to think that way or even necessarily believe what she’s thinking but she doesn’t have time for second-thoughts and is constantly almost in this battle with her mind and her body where she wants to do the “right” thing but her body is doing what it can to protect and save itself before she can think of repercussions. that would be SO incredibly confusing and scary to deal with so her mind almost has to “pretend” to play along to protect itself. (if this makes any sense at all.) i just mean that the more “dark” less characteristically accurate thoughts she is having feel almost performative, she has to trick herself into it so she doesn’t feel as guilty. (this doesn’t work.)

8. now as we go on in the chapter my last point starts to get very blurry. because a smile, a comment like that, literally mocking coral in her last moments are so unlike r that it’s shocking. like you said, the death of juliet, in a sense. so how much of that is genuinely what she is feeling, and how much is what she thinks she should be feeling? she comes across as kind, gentle, even naive, but this interaction makes it obvious that she has never seen coral in much of a positive light- especially after the games started. so maybe she saw no consequence in getting at least one jab in at her, but she does regret this later when that clarity comes back.

9. lol yeah he ATE. (in this one i needed him to have his “i’m just sending water” moment and this was it lol)

10. no LITERALLY like dr. gaul knew damn well those boys in the vents were dead even if she thought it was by the snakes. it feels almost more like a test for coryo than for her, though it is a cruel punishment to just leave her like that.

11. i’m so glad you get it, like this girl bleeds empathy. i think leaving her overnight wasn’t meant to force her to dwell on what she had done, because according to the cameras, she really hadn’t done anything. i think that’s what made it so hard, too. no one knew what she had done besides herself. she doesn’t know or care if anyone besides coryo is still watching by the time she pulls out the compact, intent on taking her own life whether she realizes consciously that’s what she wants or not, and then when he takes that from her she confesses. as far as she knows, she’s confessing to the world bc she really couldn’t live with herself otherwise. she’s just lucky that he happens to be the only one there. she’s lucky, but she doesn’t care.

ALSO the coriolanus thing,, yup. she was VERY quick at the beginning to separate him from his name. as soon as she found out his nickname she clung to it and really decided that he was coryo, not coriolanus. that line is so blurred by now that she doesn’t know who he is anymore.

12. me too 🥺 my heart breaks for her because even if she did technically “cheat”, she didn’t do anything wrong. she was so much more harmless than almost all of the others, she tried her best to stay that way but she just couldn’t.

13. i mean… as long as no one looks over the footage of what happened that night and early in the morning he should be fine 😬

I'm gonna take this as a chance to talk about how I depict Roach, at least just a little bit.

always imagined his as just some guy compared to the 141 😭 like if you saw him on the street, you would BARELY pay attention to him. Which is why when I draw him, he kinda just looks like some other person you'd see!

If you stopped and look you would probably begin to notice the things that make him interesting (the scar on the bridge of his nose, the scars across his neck to name a few) and maybe even find him attractive (he's such a handsome boy) but compared to everyone else in the 141, he's not very... eyecatching? He probably blends into the background more than anything and that's exactly what I imagine Roach would be like.

But he'd uses this lack of attention rather than work against it!! While everyone is out panicking over where the big guy with the skull mask is at or the guy with the mohawk (or even the guys with the funny hats), you bet this guy is sneaking behind enemy lines and thinning the herd. By the time they notice something is wrong, it's too late :)

I know u probably didn't expect this long of response but honestly, I take any chance I can to talk about Roach— he's just my favorite guy ever 🫶

Hey! So ive been a long time reader of ur underneath verse (since like.. 2018? Maybe even 2017?) and i just wanted to drop by and tell u how much im enjoying rereading ur writing! Like in general i think this is one of my fav fics series just bc its so extensive and well done and thought out and fleshed out so well it works so well? Like seeing all the different angles and the way u choose to frame things is really fun for me and kinda inspires my own writing in some aspects.

Ive never read the whole thing all in one go before so ive decided to do that right now and im just about done with the pied pipers song - more specifically willys chapter. And i kinda needed to let u know that ur series really stands out to me just bc of how many glimpses into other characters and all these different povs of the same thing like on it stands out on a technical level but then ur actual writing of these things is so good and compelling and like as an outsider pov bitch it hits the spot for me so well? Like ur writing is never stale and its always interesting.

I specifically wanted to take this time to mention that i really love willy and winstons characters and how u went about it. Like im ngl the way u wrote them kinda makes me want to cry tears of happiness for them bc they have found ppl who appreciate them and they have connections with other ppl but then the bittersweet tang of jensen and willy is kinda fucking me up rn /pos djjdjdjd like in general u really do the bittersweet jensen is stuck undercover angle really well and it HURTS so good

But yes i dont really have a good concise message or comment to leave beyond the fact that i keep stopping every few sentences to get up and jump bc im so excited about what im reading i need to get rid of that excess energy lol so sorry if this is all over the place and a really messy message! I just really wanted to let u know how much im enjoying reading it all rn. Thank you so much for sharing ur writing with us and for continuing to write for this series its so fun!

I just am so grateful and this message made me so happy. never apologize for maybe not having a five point outline lol, this is amazing.

The underneath verse has always been my fandom baby, so praise for it is already amazing, but the pied piper fic and Winston and Willy epsecially, it just makes my heart so full. Ten years ago, they definitely started out as stock characters of mob drivers, because I didn't think this fic would get so big, but then it did, and Willy especially became a real character. a) because I knew he'd fall in love with Jensen too, as anyone does really and b) because I looooove the bittersweet undercover Jensen shtick where I write from other character's POV and the reader knows how wrong they're getting it but they don't *mu har har* (yeah I'm a little mean sometime. sorry?)

but in all seriousness, the Willy chapter, I'ev been working on that for months. And I kept adding things and rewriting things and trying to get it perfect even though I know that most people who read the story mostly care about Jared and Jensen (which is totally fair and understandable), but I care about him and there are a few people out there who do too (and I love you for it, so much), but with Willy, I just wante to do this /right/. I've come to love him so much, and he's come to be so important to Jensen, it felt like he and Winston really deserve their own story told even though that's kind of ridiculous because they're not real, but they're a little real to me now. All this to say, nonnie, this comment and your appreciation of Willy means so fucking much to me. And my poor alpha reader who read like four drafts of this (seriously, M. is a saint) and my beta readers who then had to beta four iterations of this. To know that this effort is appreciated this much honestly make me cry a little (I am not having the greatest time right now, so I cry easily but the point still stands. Thank you.)
