So. “There was only ONE BED.” It may shock you to learn that I have never written this trope before. But honestly, it’s classic Codywan, so I couldn’t resist.
It couldn’t have happened to nicer people.

The Rules:
Every twenty-four hours there will be another round. After every round, the ship in last place will be eliminated.
If there are multiple ships tying for last place, there will be a special elimination round. In these rounds, every ship in last place will be eliminated, even if all the ships have tied equally.
When there are only two ships remaining, they will face off against one another in a week-long poll to determine the victor.
If the ship that you consider the best isn't listed here, hit the 'you forgot the best ship' option and reply to this post with the overlooked ship. The ship with the highest 'write-in' votes will be added to the next round. Unless the 'you forgot the best ship' option is the least voted for, in which case it will be eliminated.Welcome to the fray, Kalluzeb!
This is all for fun. Don't take it too seriously ;)
It’s a sad day; it’s time to bit adieu to Kanera. Space Mom and Space Dad finally got outvoted.
Tumblr media
But I’m sure they’re very proud of you all for how long you kept them afloat. Well done, Kanera stans!
We’re getting closer and closer to the end… is everyone ready for Round Nine? Because it’s here already!

Obi-Wan Hurt/Comfort and Whump Rec 1: Long Fics
Some of my favorite multi-chaptered or longer form fics (>10K). These are whump, sickfics, angst fics, and hurt/comfort with some very general tags and descriptions. Please make sure you note the tags on ao3 before reading.
I tried to tag everyone I could find here on tumblr, but if you see your fic and want a tag, let me know and I'll add it in. To all the writers, thank you for these fics, I have read each of them multiple times and I am fucking in love with all of them.
Here we go, in no particular order:
Good Man of War - scrapathon
Codywan, OC clones and medics, 16.2K
This fic is so well written and it has some really well-characterized OC clones, including clone medic Zero, as well as a bit of codywan (which I can't resist).
Things Hidden, Things Forgotten- sospes
Codywan, Zygerria/Kadavo arc, 23.5K
This writer has some of the best codywan fics on their roster, but this one absolutely destroys me everytime. This fic covers Zygerria and gets into some of the emotional aspects of the experience for Obi-Wan.
Shoulder the Sky - @kcrabb88
Quinobi, rewritten ending for Palpatine, 149.4K
This fic is part one of the Shoulder the Sky Verse series and is one of my favorite fics of all time. This fic is incredibly detailed, and every character get's their time in the spotlight. The Obi-Wan whump is absolutely delicious, and lasts basically the entirety of this fic. The plot follows Obi-Wan's discovery of the identity of Darth Sidious and how this changes the course of the end days of the Clone Wars.
Whispers from the Dead - @kcrabb88
Quinobi, PTSD and medical trauma, 210K as of 8.14.2023 (WIP)
Another part of the Shoulder the Sky Verse series (please read the fic above first). This fic is a WIP and every time there is a new chapter I drop everything to read it. Equally as emotionally damaging, equally as much whump, and equally perfect characterizations of every single character. I won't spoil the plot, but it's a perfect continuation of the series.
Gaping Hollow - Walpger
Gen - Obi-Wan, Cody, and Ahsoka, Force-exhaustion and hypothermia, 18.1K
Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Cody are trapped in a cave on the ice-planet Vandor and Obi-Wan uses the Force to keep them both warm and alive. This leads to impending Force-exhaustion. This is one of the earliest Obi-Wan-centric h/c fics I read and I love how the author describes Obi-Wan's use of the Force.
Enforced Convalescence - @swbumblebee
Gen - Obi-Wan, clones, and Jedi, sickfic/illness and fluff, 12.5K
Obi-Wan is ill and requires babysitting because he doesn't really know how to rest. This fic is endlessly soft, and Obi-Wan gets taken care of for once in his life. This author writes delightfully soft fics and this one is one of my absolute favorites.
Uja Nejah - @ijustreallylovedaredevil
Gen - Obi-Wan, OC clone medic Stim, clone troopers, Cody, diabetes and medical accuracy, 34.2K
Possibly my favorite fic of all time? Perhaps? Anything by whitchry9 is pure gold and this fic is only one example. This fic follows Obi-Wan's journey through his life as a Jedi diagnosed with diabetes. Deliciously whump, and my favorite OC clone medic, stim. You might as well read the whole series: a series of fics in which Obi Wan Kenobi having a disability somehow saves the galaxy
Iviin’hiibi te Tuur - @ijustreallylovedaredevil
Gen - Obi-Wan, OC clone medic Stim, clone troopers, Cody, epilepsy and medical accuracy, 16.4K
Surprise, surprise, yet another whitchry9 fic. This one is about Obi-Wan's life with epilepsy. This fic also has Stim and has a few extra oneshots that can be read with it.
every shadow - @kenobster
Gen - Obi-Wan, Anakin, Rex, Ahsoka, Cody, 501st, Zygerria/Kadavo arc and recovery, 34.9K as of 8.14.2023 (WIP)
This fic is a WIP and at 3/9 chapters, so I am going to to use part of the author's summary here: "during the mass casualty event following Kadavo and Zygerria, Obi-Wan and Anakin seek ways to cope with trauma." I am absolutely glued to this fic, and have already read all three chapters multiple times.
Finding Obi-Wan - @stolen-pen-name23
Gen - Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka, amnesia and angst, 86.8K
For the record, I think I read the entirety of this fic in one day because I just couldn't put it down. In this fic, Obi-Wan loses his memory and finds himself in the lower levels of Coruscant.
something inside this heart has died (you're in ruins) - revanchxst (BadWolfGirl01)
Codywan (implied or pre-slash), Zygerria/Kadavo arc, 22.6K
In this fic, Cody joins Obi-wan on the Zygerria arc rather than Rex. Very painful with a sprinkling of codywan. 1000 kudos for this fic.
The Consequences of a Crash - happygiraffe
Gen or pre-slash Obi-Wan & Anakin, crash-landing injury/infection, 44.9K
ALRIGHT. Alright. This is the first long-fic I read in this fandom, and remains one of my favorites to this day. Delicious whump, a really wonderful look at Obi-Wan and Anakin's relationship, especially as Anakin has just become a Jedi Knight. I reread this one at least once a month.
See My Dreams All Die - @hellotemporaryuniverse
Obi-Wan & Cody (implied codywan), torture by Darth Sidious, 34.7K
This fic is absolutely brutal in the best way. In this fic, Anakin dies and Sidious is looking for a new apprentice. Such good whump.
From the Same Stone - @kckenobi
Gen - Obi-Wan & Anakin, concussion and poisoning, 8.1K
I'm already breaking my own rules, because this fic is under 10K, but this fic is one of my favorites and it's just long enough that it felt like it should be included on this list. In this fic, Obi-Wan and Anakin get trapped in a mine and are slowly ingesting a toxin.
|to failure, sweet victor| - littlekaracan
Codywan, angst and physical fights, 20K
This fic is as fucking bittersweet as it gets. Absolutely destroys me with every read. This fic follows Obi-Wan and Cody on Tatooine, but Cody's chip can't be removed until it has deteriorated to a certain point. As a result, sometimes Cody isn't quite himself.
battle scars - series - @calltomuster
Gen - Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Anakin, PTSD and medical trauma, 27.2K
This series gets into some of Obi-Wan's medical trauma and why avoids medical treatment. I can't get enough of the OC clone medic, Fuzzy, and I love how well the author writes Obi-Wan's PTSD.
shoulder the sky - series - Night_Fury
Codywan, Cerasi & Obi-Wan Kenobi & Nield, Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan, PTSD, temporary death, recovery, 196.1K
What can I say about this series? Probably too much. You will just need to read it to find out. Just read it.
chronic conditions - @deniigi
Codywan and clones, epilepsy and chronic illness, 13.1K
Yet another epileptic Obi-wan fic, this one through the lens of Kix and Cody. I am absolutely mesmerized by how this author writes, and I keep going back to this one over and over again.
Six Times Ahsoka Thought Her Grandmaster Was Dead, and the One Time He Actually Was - @pandora15 and lazarusII
Gen - Obi-Wan & Ahsoka, deathfic, 12.3K
The title says it all. You will be in pain.
heavy off a golden hue - @catboydogma
Codywan, hanahaki and chronic illness, 36.7K
This is a series which looks at Obi-Wan's life with chronic Hanahaki. This is such an amazing series, another set of fics I read in one sit-down.
Suddenly this is defeat - ealcynn
Gen, Landing at Point Rain and major injury, 13.3K
This fic is in first-person POV and does an incredible job of portraying Obi-Wan's perspective on the events based on the episode Landing at Point Rain.
This incessant snow - ealcynn
Gen, Landing at Point Rain and major injury, 20.7K
Part two to the above fic. Another extremely well-written fic. I absolutely adore the way Obi-Wan is written.
We Can Be Beautiful - OuzoAthena11
Codywan, panic attacks, 23.2K
The fic summary on ao3 says it best, "Five times Obi-Wan deals with anxiety or a panic attack and one time he causes minor anxiety in someone else." Really well written and soft fic.
Count My Little Scars I've Got Dozens Inside - nuclearturtle
Codywan (as adults), angst and de-aging, 27.1K
A de-aged Obi-Wan fic where Dooku attempts to gain his trust, but inevitably, doesn't. Very angsty. Extremely angsty.
Conjuring Miracles - @kcrabb88
Gen - Obi-Wan, Leia, Tala, Vader, PTSD, 29.8K
Another one by this author. In this fic, Tala doesn't get to Obi-Wan in time, and he ends up being taken with Leia to the the inquisitor base. There, he encounters Vader.
Rapture - @galateagalvanized
Codywan, depowered character, 62.5K
I think the summary on ao3 says it best, "An independent terrorist cell has developed a weapon capable of severing the bond between a Jedi and the Living Force. They test it on High General Obi-Wan Kenobi." Wonderful whump mixed with a great story, and of course, codywan.
Always Gold - happygiraffe
Gen - Obi-Wan & Anakin, terminal illness/cancer, 10K
In this fic, Obi-Wan is dying of cancer and just wants the best for his padawan. Prepare yourself, this one hurts.
As an Obi-Wan whump writer myself, I can't help but throw a couple of my own here (not that these are by any means on par with the quality of the incredible fics above). I have linked a couple below if you are interested:
orbit me slowly
Codywan, burns and recovery, 15.3K
After an injury leaves Obi-Wan down and out, he realizes that time isn't as unlimited as he once believed
green is the colour
Codywan, sickfic and injury, 14K
Obi-Wan, sick with the flu, is cornered by hundreds of droids. Cody and Anakin come to his rescue, but there is unresolved tension between them.
Hope you all enjoy this list!

see I really love the "we never got the timing quite right", "in another life" and "almost lover" aspects of codywan. Though I read most if not all versions of codywan, so many, every day— the pining and longing part of it, is really my favourite.
It's the staring at one another just a moment too long when they think they can get away with it,
the lingering touches and the unnecessary ones.
The hyper awareness of the other's presence.
It's the pain of sharing whispers of affection or vulnerability in moments of weakness (nightmares, panic attacks, grief, existential crisis) and having to go back to pretending nothing at all occurred the next time they see each other.

(new post because the last one was getting loooooooooong)
@iwilltransyourgender abso-fucking-lutely! let's do it!
I propose that, along with CodyWan Week and RexWalker Week, we start having a yearly Anti-Anakin Week!
the prompts would basically be different characters, from any SW show or movie, reacting to the heinous shit that Anakin has done and/or smacking him in the face with the consequences of his actions.
like, give me a fic where Padme keeps her moral backbone and, when Anakin confesses to the Tusken Massacre, she hauls his ass to the nearest court and gets him charged and arrested with mass murder!
give me a fic where Rex gets tired of Anakin refusing to obey orders or listen to anyone, which keeps getting his brothers killed, and just snapping--giving Anakin a two-hour long lecture on why he's a shit person, a shit general, and a shit Jedi!
give me a fic where Leia, still obviously pissed about Anakin's actions as Vader, finds out about all the heinous shit he did before he became Palpatine's lap dog and then just losing it the next time Luke/Ahsoka/someone else says "there's still good in him/he was a good person" or boasting about how great Anakin was--going on a long rant about how there is absolutely no good in him and never was, because look at all the horrible things he's done!
give me a fic where Boba and Din are transported back in time to when Anakin's about to commit the Tusken Massacre and just proceed to kick his ass!
give me a fic where Cody just fucking decks Anakin one day because he's being an asshole!
give me a fic where Anakin dies and then has to face all the people whose lives he ruined/took and the consequences of that!
give me a fic where the Rebellion captures Vader and Obi-Wan sits down with him and asks Anakin what exactly the Jedi did to "deserve" their genocide, and when Anakin tries to justify it he just keeps countering every point until Anakin is left with nothing but the truth--that there was no justification, that he ruined his and everyone else's lives for no reason at all.
like, sign me up! I'll make the account, I'll set everything up, I'll do it all! because we really do need more fics like that.
(also, side note: if you're looking for more Anakin/consequences fics, @antianakin has a whole list of pro-jedi Anakin/consequences fics)

The Twilight Prophecy
Summary: In a world where the Sun Court reigns in perpetual daylight and the Moon Court thrives under starlit night, an ancient prophecy emerges to challenge the status quo. Crown Princes Cody and Obi-Wan, heirs to their respective thrones, find their destinies intertwined when a mysterious sorceress delivers a cryptic warning
A/N: So this one might be a bit different, once again it started with a prompt for the Codywan bingo @codywanbingo with theme Romance. but things might have gotten out of hand. @swfandomevents
The prompt for this was sharing armour. for now this is a one shot, but if you guys, the readers are open to it. depending on your reactions to the one shot I might be convinced to make it a series.
Tumblr media
In the Moon Court, nestled in the heart of a kingdom where night reigned supreme and the stars whispered ancient secrets, life unfolded like a perpetual dance under the celestial dome. The court, an architectural marvel of pale stones and silver spires, mirrored the tranquil beauty of the moon it revered. At its center was the royal family, presided over by King Qui-gon, a ruler as enigmatic as the moon's hidden face, with Crown Prince Obi-Wan Kenobi, his eldest son, at his side.
Crown Prince Obi-Wan, with hair as fiery as a comet's tail, stood in stark contrast to the cool, muted hues of the court. His red locks, a rarity in the realm, were often likened to a stray strand of the sun caught in the lunar embrace. His presence in the court was like a steady flame; warm, illuminating, but never consuming. His eyes, a deep blue reminiscent of the twilight sky, held the calmness of the moonlit night and the intensity of a thousand stars.
King Qui-gon, a figure both respected and slightly feared, ruled with a wisdom that seemed to flow from the moon itself. His silver hair and beard, like the frosted edges of the moon, framed a face etched with the lines of time and responsibility. He was a king who spoke little, but when he did, his words held the weight of the night sky.
Anakin, Obi-Wan's younger brother, was the court's untamed storm. With hair as dark as the space between stars and eyes that sparkled with unbridled energy, he was a stark contrast to Obi-Wan's composed demeanor. Anakin's restless spirit often led him to the court's training grounds, where his prowess with the sword was as renowned as his impulsive nature.
Ahsoka, the youngest, was the court's dawn. Her laughter brought light to the dimmest corners, and her curiosity was as boundless as the night sky. Her presence was a gentle reminder of the dawn that followed every night, a symbol of hope and renewal in the Moon Court's often somber ambiance.
Life in the Moon Court was a delicate balance of tradition and the subtle magic that permeated the air. The nights were filled with quiet conversations, the rustle of silk robes, and the soft clinking of teacups. Scholars and astronomers were as revered as knights, their knowledge of the stars and the moon considered essential to the kingdom's wellbeing.
Music was the soul of the court, with melodies often drifting through the corridors like a soft breeze. Instruments that mimicked the sound of the night—gentle flutes, stringed instruments, and soft drums—created an ambiance that was both soothing and enigmatic.
The courtiers moved with a grace that mirrored the phases of the moon, their robes flowing in silvery and blue hues, adorned with motifs of stars and celestial bodies. In this court, every gesture, every word spoken, was as measured and deliberate as the lunar cycle.
In the heart of it all was Obi-Wan, a prince not only of blood but of the people. His days were spent in council meetings, where he listened more than he spoke, his judgments always fair and thoughtful. His nights were dedicated to the study of ancient texts and star charts, seeking wisdom in the patterns of the cosmos.
Yet, beneath the calm surface, there was a current of anticipation, a sense of a destiny not yet fulfilled. Obi-Wan, more than anyone, felt this unspoken promise that hung in the air like a pending eclipse. It was a feeling that whispered of changes to come, of paths yet to be walked, and of a bond that would define not only his fate but that of the Moon Court itself.
****
In the resplendent Sun Court, where day held sway and golden light bathed the land in warmth and vitality, the rhythm of life pulsated with a vibrancy befitting its celestial patron. The court itself was an architectural splendor, its walls and towers crafted from sun-kissed stone that shimmered like the surface of a star. At its heart was the royal family, led by King Jango, a monarch whose presence was as commanding as the sun in the zenith sky, with Crown Prince Cody, his eldest son, shining brightly by his side.
Crown Prince Cody was the embodiment of the Sun Court's ideals – his bearing noble and his gaze as piercing as the midday sun. His hair, a rich brown, like the fertile earth nourished by sunlight, complemented his sturdy, yet graceful demeanor. Cody's presence in the court was like a steady beacon; guiding, assuring, but always approachable. His eyes, reflecting the clear blue of a cloudless sky, held the promise of endless horizons and the resolve of daylight.
King Jango, a ruler whose reign was marked by prosperity and strength, led with a firm but fair hand. His hair and beard, peppered with strands of gray, spoke of years under the sun, commanding battles and councils alike. His decision to ascend the throne after King Jaster, his father and the former king, abdicated, was accepted with reverence by the court. Jaster, still a respected figure, remained a guiding star in the court's firmament, his wisdom as perennial as the sun itself.
The younger princes, Rex, Wolffe, Fives, and Echo, were like rays of the same sun, each unique in their brilliance. Rex, with his sharp mind and tactical acumen, was often found in the company of the court's strategists, his keen insights as valuable as any seasoned general's. Wolffe, more reserved, shared a deep interest in the court's engineering feats, his innovative ideas reflecting the Sun Court's continuous quest for progress. Fives and Echo, inseparable in their mischief and mirth, brought a spirited energy to the court, their laughter echoing through the halls like the playful dance of sunbeams.
Life in the Sun Court was a grand tapestry of color and celebration, where the arts flourished under the generous patronage of the royal family. The days were filled with lively debates in the council chambers, the clanging of swords in the training yards, and the hustle of trade in the bustling marketplaces. Knights and scholars alike were esteemed, their roles pivotal in upholding the court's glory.
Music in the Sun Court was a bold symphony, with brass and percussion leading the charge, their sounds evoking the power and majesty of the sun. The courtiers, adorned in vibrant colors – oranges, reds, and yellows – moved with a confidence that mirrored the court's solar inspiration. In this court, every action, every word resonated with the intensity of the sun's rays.
At the center was Cody, a prince whose responsibilities encompassed not just royal duties but the aspirations of his people. He was often seen engaging with his subjects, his approachability as a leader as cherished as his strategic mind. His evenings, though less public, were spent in deep study and contemplation, his gaze often turning skyward, where the setting sun met the rising moon, a silent acknowledgment of a world beyond his own.
Yet, beneath the Sun Court's radiant facade, there was an undercurrent of expectation, a sense of a destiny intertwined with that of another realm. Cody, more than anyone, felt this looming promise, a sense that his path was not his alone to tread. It was a feeling that hinted at a convergence of day and night, of a bond that would bridge the gap between the Sun Court and a kingdom not of light, but of moonlit shadows.
***
In the twilight-kissed ruins of the abandoned castle, where history whispered from every stone, the annual council of the Moon and Sun Courts convened. This year's gathering was marked by a significant change – for the first time, Kings Qui-gon and Jango had brought their sons, introducing the next generation to the intricate dance of diplomacy and trade.
The castle, a relic of a forgotten time, stood at the very edge where day melted into night, its once proud walls now softened by age and draped in ivy. Its grand hall, though worn by years, echoed with renewed life as the delegations of both courts assembled, their robes fluttering like banners of night and day.
Crown Prince Obi-Wan of the Moon Court, his fiery red hair a vivid contrast against his silver-hued attire, stepped into the hall with a quiet confidence. His gaze, curious and observant, swept over the Sun Court's delegation, taking in the bright colors and bold patterns that seemed to capture the essence of sunlight.
Across the room, Crown Prince Cody of the Sun Court, his stature both noble and approachable, mirrored Obi-Wan's curiosity. His hair, the color of fertile earth, was complemented by the golden embroidery of his attire, reminiscent of the rays of the midday sun.
As the council commenced, King Qui-gon, his voice as serene as a moonlit night, spoke of the Moon Court's rich deposits of moonstone and star silver, precious materials sought after by the Sun Court. King Jango, his tone warm and commanding, offered in exchange the Sun Court's abundant harvests and solar-infused elixirs, items of great value to the Moon Court.
The discussion of trade routes, quantities, and protections unfolded with a practiced rhythm, the two kings negotiating with a mutual respect forged over years of such meetings. Amidst the bartering and agreements, Obi-Wan and Cody's eyes met, a silent acknowledgment passing between them.
During a recess, the princes found themselves standing near an ancient, vine-covered balcony. "First council?" Cody inquired, his voice casual but friendly.
"Yes," Obi-Wan replied, a slight smile on his lips. "It's more... vibrant than I expected. The exchange of goods, it's like a dance of resources and needs."
Cody nodded. "It's the rhythm of our courts, isn't it? Day and night, each providing what the other lacks. Balance."
Their conversation, initially revolving around the intricacies of the council, gradually became more personal, veering towards their lives within their respective courts. Obi-Wan spoke of the tranquil nights and starlit ceremonies of the Moon Court, while Cody shared tales of sun-drenched fields and lively festivals under the sun.
As the meeting resumed, and they returned to their delegations, there was a mutual sense of understanding, a recognition that they were not just princes of opposing realms, but custodians of a delicate balance.
Throughout the rest of the council, as their fathers deliberated over the final details of the trade agreement, Obi-Wan and Cody exchanged occasional glances and subtle nods. In those brief moments, a foundation was laid for a relationship that would, in time, transcend the mere exchange of goods and speak to the deeper bond between day and night, sun and moon.
During a lull in the council proceedings, as the courtiers mingled and the kings conferred in hushed tones, Crown Princes Cody and Obi-Wan found themselves gravitating towards each other, away from the throng. They walked side by side towards one of the castle's ancient archways, which framed the setting sun on one side and the rising moon on the other, a perfect intersection of their two worlds.
Cody's gaze lingered on the horizon, where the sun's fiery farewell kissed the moon's cool greeting. "It's quite something, isn't it? The sun and moon, always chasing, never meeting."
Obi-Wan nodded, his eyes reflecting the twilight hues. "Yet, here we are, standing where they converge. It's poetic in a way."
Their conversation, initially a shared admiration for the celestial dance, slowly turned towards the more personal. Cody's posture, relaxed yet attentive, and Obi-Wan's thoughtful demeanor, created an atmosphere of ease and openness.
"You know," Cody began, his tone carrying a hint of curiosity, "I've always wondered what it's like in the Moon Court. Is it as tranquil as they say?"
Obi-Wan's lips curved into a soft smile. "Tranquility is one word for it. It's a world of introspection, of seeking wisdom in the stars. But it can also be... isolating. The night is beautiful, but it's also vast and endless."
Cody's eyes met Obi-Wan's, a spark of understanding in their depths. "I suppose the Sun Court is its opposite then. It's always bustling, always bright. Sometimes it feels like there's no space to breathe, to think. The sun can be overbearing at its zenith."
Their shared laughter at Cody's words was a brief, harmonious note that seemed to bridge their contrasting worlds.
"I imagine that's why these councils are important," Obi-Wan mused, his gaze returning to the horizon. "They're not just about trade and politics. They're about understanding, about seeing the world through each other's eyes."
Cody nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Do you think we'll ever achieve that? True understanding between our courts?"
"I believe so," Obi-Wan replied, his voice carrying a quiet conviction. "Understanding begins with individuals. It starts with conversations like this."
Their dialogue was interrupted as the council bell tolled, signaling the end of the break. As they turned to rejoin the others, their steps synchronized, there was an unspoken agreement between them – a commitment to bridge the gap between day and night, sun and moon, one conversation at a time.
As they parted ways at the archway, the brief contact of their hands was like a spark – fleeting, but potent enough to kindle a connection that promised to grow stronger with each passing council. In that moment, unnoticed by the busy courtiers, a seed of change was planted, watered by the hope of understanding and the possibility of unity in a world divided by light and shadow.
On the third evening of the council, as the twilight sky melted into a tapestry of stars and the crescent moon, a grand dinner was held in the castle's ancient dining hall. The long tables were adorned with candles that flickered like distant stars, casting a warm glow over the assembled nobility of the Sun and Moon Courts. At the center of this constellation of courtiers sat Kings Qui-gon and Jango, their presence commanding yet genial, a testament to years of leadership and diplomacy.
Opposite their fathers, Crown Princes Cody and Obi-Wan were seated beside each other, the candlelight playing across their features, softening the lines of their royal bearing. As the dinner progressed, the hum of conversation filled the hall, a blend of laughter, clinking silverware, and the subtle rustling of fine garments.
Cody turned towards Obi-Wan, his expression open and curious. "Prince Obi-Wan, I've been meaning to ask – what is it like to train in the ways of your court's mystic arts? I've heard tales of the Moon Court's connection to the stars."
Obi-Wan's eyes lit up, a spark of enthusiasm breaking through his usual composure. "It's a lifelong journey of learning, Prince Cody. The stars and the moon guide us, teaching us about balance and the flow of the cosmos. It's more than just training; it's a way of understanding our place in the universe."
Cody's interest was palpable, his gaze intent. "That sounds... profound. In the Sun Court, our focus is often on the tangible – the strength of the body, the mastery of combat, the art of governance. I wonder what it would be like to look beyond, to see the world as you do."
Their conversation, rich with the exchange of ideas and perspectives, continued seamlessly, almost as if the crowded hall around them had faded into the background. As they spoke, their fathers occasionally glanced their way, noting the ease of their interaction with a mixture of surprise and quiet approval.
Obi-Wan, usually reserved, found himself intrigued by Cody's genuine curiosity and the earnestness with which he spoke of his own experiences. "Your world sounds fascinating, Cody. There's a certain... vitality to the way you describe it. I admit, there are times I wish the Moon Court had a bit more of the Sun Court's vigor."
Cody smiled, a warm, inviting expression that seemed to reflect the very essence of his court. "And I sometimes long for the tranquility and depth of yours. Perhaps that's the key, isn't it? Learning from each other, finding harmony between day and night."
Their dialogue, rich and engaging, continued throughout the dinner, touching upon topics from the philosophical to the mundane. It was a conversation that wove a thread between them, a connection that went beyond their titles and responsibilities. In the shared laughter, the exchange of insights, and the subtle understanding that passed between them, a foundation was being laid – the first stepping stone in a journey that would redefine not only their relationship but potentially the future of their courts.
As the final day of the council dawned, the ancient castle found itself enveloped in the soft, ethereal light of twilight, where night gently handed over the reins to day. It was in this tranquil hour that Crown Princes Cody and Obi-Wan, drawn by a shared sense of purpose and curiosity, found themselves atop the highest tower of the castle.
Standing side by side, they watched in silence as the horizon blurred the lines between their two worlds, the night's darkness fading into the warm embrace of the morning light. The air was cool and crisp, carrying the scent of dew and ancient stone.
Cody broke the silence, his voice soft yet clear in the quiet of the morning. "I often stand on the battlements of the Sun Court at dawn, watching the world awaken. There's a sense of endless possibilities with each new day, a new beginning."
Obi-Wan turned to face him, the first light of dawn casting a golden glow on his red hair. "In the Moon Court, we watch the stars fade into morning. It's a reminder that even the longest night has an end, that there's a rhythm and cycle to everything."
Their eyes met, a mutual understanding flickering between them. They were princes of different realms, yet in this moment, they were simply two individuals, sharing their hopes and dreams.
"What do you dream of for your future, Cody?" Obi-Wan asked, his gaze returning to the horizon.
Cody's eyes reflected the sky's changing colors. "I dream of a kingdom that thrives, not just in strength and prosperity, but in wisdom and understanding. A kingdom that looks beyond the horizon, that learns from others."
"And you, Obi-Wan? What are your dreams?" Cody's question was tinged with genuine interest.
Obi-Wan's response was thoughtful, his words measured. "I dream of balance. A balance between tradition and progress, between the mystic and the tangible. I want to lead the Moon Court into a future where we are not just observers of the night but active participants in the world's tapestry."
Their conversation flowed naturally, as if the barriers of their titles and duties had been left at the foot of the tower. They spoke of their aspirations for their people, their personal hopes, and the challenges they anticipated. In the shared confidences and laughter, a bond was being forged, strengthened by the understanding that their dreams were not so different after all.
As the sun fully broke the horizon, bathing the world in its light, they stood in a companionable silence, each lost in thoughts of the future and the role they would play in it.
It was Cody who finally spoke, his voice carrying a newfound resolve. "Perhaps our courts are more alike than we thought. Maybe this is just the beginning, Obi-Wan. A beginning of something greater than just trade and alliances."
Obi-Wan nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "I believe you're right, Cody. This is a beginning. And it's one we can shape together."
As they descended from the tower, the first rays of the sun meeting the last whispers of the night, there was a sense of promise in the air, a feeling that this meeting was the first step in a journey that would bridge the gap between their worlds, guided by their shared dreams and visions for the future.
As the final day of the council waned, a serene twilight enveloped the ancient castle, softening the edges of shadows and light. The grand hall, alive with the closure of the five-day meeting between the Sun and Moon Courts, was suddenly hushed as an unexpected figure appeared at the entrance. A sorceress, clad in robes that shimmered like the starlit sky, stood with an air of enigmatic power.
The hall fell into a deep silence, the bustling energy of the courtiers replaced by a palpable sense of anticipation and unease. King Jango of the Sun Court and King Qui-gon of the Moon Court, their expressions shifting from surprise to guarded wariness, stood to confront this unforeseen visitor.
Crown Prince Cody and Crown Prince Obi-Wan exchanged a tense glance, both aware of the potential gravity of this moment. They stood alert, their attention fixed on the mysterious sorceress.
She stepped gracefully into the room, her presence commanding the attention of all present. Her voice, clear and resonant, echoed through the hall, her words weaving a rhyme that carried the weight of prophecy:
"In twilight's embrace, where night greets the day,
A trial looms near, a path shadowed and gray.
Heart and armor must meet, in a bond forged anew,
Uniting sun's blaze with the moon's silver hue.
Together, two realms must face a dark hour,
A union of souls, their greatest power.
Should this bond break, or fail to be found,
Both sun and moon shall lose their crown."
The sorceress's words, cryptic yet haunting, resonated through the hall, leaving a ripple of whispered speculation and concern. The courtiers and delegates exchanged uneasy glances, pondering the ominous implications of her message.
Cody, his expression a mix of skepticism and contemplation, turned to Obi-Wan. "Hearts and armor... Could she be speaking of us, of our courts?"
Obi-Wan, his eyes thoughtful, nodded slowly. "It seems so. This prophecy... it suggests a unity deeper than mere alliances. Something more personal, perhaps."
King Qui-gon and King Jango shared a concerned look, the implications of the prophecy not lost on them. The sorceress's mention of hearts and armor hinted at a bond beyond political ties, suggesting a personal connection that could hold the key to their realms' futures.
As the sorceress turned, her cloak billowing around her like a dark cloud, she vanished into the twilight as mysteriously as she had appeared. Her departure left a trail of questions and a sense of foreboding that lingered in the air.
The council, now officially concluded, left the members of both courts with more than just diplomatic resolutions; they carried with them the weight of a prophetic warning. As they began to depart, Cody and Obi-Wan remained, their shared glance one of determination and newfound understanding.
As the sorceress's enigmatic presence faded into the twilight, a restless energy began to stir in the grand hall. The initial shock of her visit slowly gave way to a flurry of conversations among the courtiers and delegates of the Sun and Moon Courts. The once orderly gathering turned into a mosaic of hushed debates and speculative discussions, with the sorceress's prophecy at the heart of it all.
In one corner, a group of Moon Court scholars huddled together, their brows furrowed in concentration. "Hearts and armor, sun and moon... It's as if she speaks of a union, a convergence of our realms," one mused, his fingers tracing the patterns on his star-embroidered robe.
Nearby, a cluster of Sun Court knights speculated with a mix of skepticism and concern. "Could it be a ploy? Another kingdom sowing seeds of fear and discord?" a knight questioned, his hand unconsciously resting on the pommel of his sword.
At the center of the hall, Kings Qui-gon and Jango convened in a quiet, intense discussion. Their expressions were a study in contemplation, weighing the potential meanings and implications of the prophecy. They were leaders seasoned by years of rule, accustomed to navigating the murky waters of political intrigue and veiled threats.
Cody and Obi-Wan, standing a short distance away from their fathers, exchanged their thoughts in a low, earnest conversation. "It's hard to dismiss her words as mere madness," Cody said, his gaze lingering on the spot where the sorceress had stood. "The prophecy... it felt charged with truth, or at least with purpose."
Obi-Wan nodded in agreement, his eyes reflecting a deep introspection. "Indeed. And the reference to hearts and armor... it implies a personal sacrifice or a personal bond. It's not something we can ignore."
Their dialogue was interrupted as Anakin and Ahsoka approached, their youthful curiosity evident. "Do you really think there's something to her words?" Anakin asked, his tone a mix of excitement and skepticism.
Ahsoka, her eyes wide with a blend of worry and wonder, added, "It felt like she was speaking directly to you, Cody, and to you, Obi-Wan. Like you're a part of this prophecy."
The conversation was cut short as King Qui-gon addressed the room, his voice carrying a calm authority that quieted the murmurs. "We will consider the sorceress's words with the seriousness they deserve. For now, let us not jump to conclusions or let fear guide our actions."
King Jango nodded in agreement. "We have always stood strong, united in our differences. This will not change. Let us return to our courts and contemplate our next steps with wisdom and caution."
As the delegates began to disperse, the air still tinged with uncertainty, Cody and Obi-Wan lingered, their thoughts lingering on the enigmatic prophecy. There was a sense of an invisible thread weaving through their conversation, tying their fates to the words of the sorceress.
***
As the Moon Court delegation embarked on their nocturnal journey back to their realm, they traversed under a star-studded sky, where the cosmos painted stories in the vastness above. The soft sounds of the night were punctuated by the rhythmic canter of horses, their hooves gently tapping the earth, harmonizing with the nocturnal symphony of the wilderness.
Crown Prince Obi-Wan, astride a graceful steed that moved with an almost ethereal grace, led the procession. The horse, a magnificent creature with a coat as dark as the night sky and eyes that reflected the moon's glow, seemed an extension of Obi-Wan himself, moving with a quiet dignity that mirrored his rider's temperament.
Obi-Wan's posture was relaxed yet alert, his eyes occasionally lifting to gaze at the celestial tapestry above. The cool night air brushed against his skin, carrying whispers of the forest and the secrets of the night. His mind, however, was far from at ease, troubled by the words of the sorceress. "A union of hearts and armor..." he whispered to himself, the prophecy resonating within him, a puzzle waiting to be unraveled.
The thought of Prince Cody surfaced unbidden in his mind – their recent conversations, the shared looks, the subtle but unmistakable connection that had begun to form between them. Could this enigmatic prophecy be alluding to something beyond the political, something personal that tied them together?
Lost in thought, Obi-Wan hardly noticed when his younger brother, Anakin, rode up alongside him, breaking his contemplation. Anakin's horse, a spirited animal with a fiery mane, matched his rider's energetic and bold spirit.
"Lost in the stars, brother?" Anakin asked, his voice carrying a light, teasing tone, yet tinged with concern.
Obi-Wan smiled faintly, acknowledging Anakin's attempt to lighten his mood. "Just pondering the sorceress's words. They hint at something deeper than alliances – a bond of a more personal nature."
Riding on his other side, Ahsoka joined the conversation, her horse a dappled gray that moved with a lively step. "It does sound daunting, but we've faced challenges before. And we'll face this one together, whatever it may be."
The siblings continued their journey under the night sky, the conversation veering between light-hearted banter and thoughtful discussions about the future. Despite the uncertainty of the prophecy, their bond as a family offered a comforting sense of solidity against the unknown.
Upon reaching the Moon Court's castle, a silhouette of spires and turrets that seemed to rise out of the darkness itself, Obi-Wan dismounted his horse, his gaze lingering on the stars above. Though the path ahead was shrouded in mystery, he felt a renewed sense of purpose, fortified by the support of his family and the intriguing possibility of the bond foretold in the prophecy. In the quiet assurance of the night, Obi-Wan found a silent resolve, a determination to face whatever challenges lay ahead, guided by the light of the stars and the strength of newfound connections.
As the Sun Court delegation made their way back to their kingdom, the journey was bathed in the brilliant light of the sun, casting long, golden shadows across the land. The entourage moved with a steady rhythm, the sound of hooves and the occasional clink of armor punctuating the air, resonating with the vibrant energy of the day.
At the forefront, Crown Prince Cody rode a majestic horse, its coat a lustrous golden hue that seemed to capture and reflect the sunlight. The horse moved with a proud, assertive gait, mirroring Cody's own confident and resolute nature. Cody sat tall in the saddle, his posture embodying the strength and poise of the Sun Court.
The warm sunlight played across his face, highlighting a thoughtful expression that seemed uncharacteristic of his usually decisive demeanor. Cody's mind was preoccupied with the sorceress's enigmatic prophecy, her words echoing in his head like a distant drumbeat. "Hearts and armor... a union beyond our courts," he mused, the idea both intriguing and unsettling.
Cody's contemplation was noticed by his younger brother, Rex, who rode up beside him. Rex's horse, a sturdy and reliable steed, matched his rider's practical and steadfast spirit.
"Something on your mind, Cody?" Rex inquired, his tone casual but perceptive.
Cody glanced at his brother, his expression softening. "Just thinking about the sorceress's warning. It suggests a bond that goes deeper than mere alliances. I wonder if it's pointing to something... or someone."
Rex nodded, understanding the weight of such thoughts. "Do you think it has to do with the Moon Court? With Prince Obi-Wan, perhaps?"
Cody's gaze drifted to the horizon, where the sun continued its relentless journey across the sky. "It's possible. Our interactions have been... different. There's an understanding there that I can't quite explain."
As they continued their ride, the conversation turned to the implications of the prophecy and what it might mean for the future of their court. Despite the uncertainty, Rex's presence and pragmatic insights offered Cody a sense of groundedness, a reminder that he wasn't alone in facing the challenges ahead.
Upon arriving at the Sun Court's castle, a magnificent structure that seemed to rise like a phoenix from the land, bathed in perpetual sunlight, Cody dismounted his horse. He stood for a moment, taking in the sight of his home, the walls glowing as if lit from within by the sun's eternal fire.
The journey back had left him with more questions than answers, but in the bright light of day, Cody found a sense of clarity and resolve. Whatever the prophecy entailed, whatever trials lay ahead, he knew that the strength of his court and the potential of the bond foretold would guide them through. The sun's unwavering journey across the sky was a reminder that even in the face of uncertainty, the light would always find a way to shine through.
****
As I said at the beginning, depending on your reactions, I might make this a series, but I would love to hear if that was something you wanted or not? If this one shot has satisfied your curiosity or not.

Do you have any good Codywan fics to recommend? Preferably on AO3, preferably not too spicy, and preferably ones that will leave me happy inside and not drowning in a post-Order 66 pit of despair. If you don’t feel like answering this, that’s fine, I hope you have a good day! :)
First of all, I am so sorry for not replying to this sooner. I didn’t see the notification and also I really wanted to make sure I gave you a good list. I love getting asked this so thank you for giving me an excuse to make another one of these posts. Here is a link to the first one I made.
These are all masterpieces in my mind. I have like twenty bookmarks in total even though I read fics all the time so here are some of my holy grails:
AUs
Oh, the weather outside is frightful by Celaestis (Christmas fluff modern au)
I wish there were more Christmas fics because I just love them and it certainly doesn’t hurt that the writing quality of this one is nothing short of breathtaking. This is ever so slightly spicy but its mostly fluff. Just a line or two of spice and it’s implied too. This writer has a way of describing things that is so intricate and intimate and I am just obsessed with their writing style.
love me long, be my sunlight by ricken (love island au)
I have never been able to sit through an entire episode of Love Island but when I tell you I screamed when I first saw this au. It is the most fun I have had with a fic in so long but it’s also actually incredibly heartwarming too. And what a creative idea as well. This is one of the fics I reread a lot and if you give it a go, you’ll understand why. It’s positively delightful and is such an original concept too.
Probably the spiciest fic on the list but there’s nothing crazy. It’s mostly just dialogue and references (it is a dating show after all) and the spiciest scene is interrupted. I had such a blast with this one and I really wish more fics were like this.
hunger + dreams by catboydogma (hockey/figure skating au)
Tell me why Codywan suit every genre. The very concept of a Codywan figure skating au is enough to make me screech but this one!!! It’s just so cute. Truly the most adorable little getting together fic and it does such a good job characterising everyone too. The interactions Obi Wan has with Anakin and Ahsoka are so much fun and Codywan deserve to be happy above all else and this fic absolutely delivers that. I would read a thousand chapters of this if I could.
Silver Lining by Wixiany (skiing au)
This fic!!!! Oh my god!!!! I have always believed that Codywan have suffered too much in canon that every au they are place in should be a romcom and that is precisely what this fic is. The sweetest little romcom ever. This fic has everything. A ski-slope accident meet cute. A Cody’s scar origin story. An Omega cameo (if you know me, you know that my opinion of any Codywan fic skyrockets if my fave Star Wars girl makes an appearance). Basically no angst!!!! I think this fic cured all of my problems ngl. I cannot recommend it enough. I genuinely just found this like thirty minutes ago and it has instantly become one of my favourite Codywan fics ever.
An Officer and a Gentleman by jimmytiberius  (regency au)
I read this one last year and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. This is a Codywan regency au and regency era literature may be the only thing I love as much as Codywan so naturally the being combined is immaculate. This fic does a fantastic job of capturing the delicate romanticism of the time period and it’s a style that suits Codywan down to the ground. It just makes sense for them. I mean a Sense and Sensibility au??? Are you serious??? What an amazing concept. If you’re familiar with Jane Austen at all, you’ll feel right at home with this fic because it is just so incredibly sweet.
Rhapsody in Blue by KCKenobi (orchestra/mystery au)
Now I know I mentioned it on my last post but I have vowed to always recommend this fic whenever anyone asks. It is truly my favourite fic of all time and I’ve read it multiple times now. How many fanfics can you say have their own soundtrack? I think this is the third time I have recommended this fic in a post but it really is that good. This is a warning for some angst but I would never recommend a fic with an unhappy ending unless specifically asked so you can rest easy knowing that everything resolves well in this story.
What I also adore about this fic is that it does brilliantly what so few others do, which is that it doesn’t ignore its side characters. They are not just props in Obi Wan’s story. Each person, no matter how small their appearance, feels like a real person. They’re so believable and every relationship, platonic, romantic or otherwise, is completely fleshed out.
There's also a very sweet Codywan oneshot here but it is set during the pandemic and is a bit of a heavy read depending on how much that topic affects so be careful.
I would also like to say that, while this author doesn’t generally write Codywan, first of all when she does it is magical. Secondly, she is absolutely fantastic if you like platonic fics. There’s so many to read and every single one I have read so far has been wonderful.
Canonverse fics
Incognizant by marshMeister (5+1 fic)
It wouldn’t be a true list of recommendations if I didn’t mention a fic by one of my favourite humans @legobenkenobi. When I say he is one of my favourite writers ever, I am not just saying it because I talk to him basically everyday. I cannot think of a single other person I would trust more to characterise both Cody and Obi Wan. It’s perfect every single time, whether its just in a post or in a full fanfiction, and this fic is such a good example. It’s that classic 5+1 format but it’s so sweet and so in character.
What’s the one thing that could improve a Codywan fic though? Anakin being completely oblivious and (lovingly) made fun of for it. He has absolutely no clue how Codywan feel about each other even though basically the rest of the galaxy knows so this fic is him figuring that out and it is joy to read (and then reread like six times).
Also if I could make it required by law to read everything Ben has ever written, I would. So definitely check out literally all of his other fics.
if i don’t make it back from where i’ve gone (just know i’ve loved you all along) by thebitterbeast (featuring art from thegreencarousel) (time travel, non linear fic)
This fic does have some angst but rest assured everything works out eventually. It’s such a unique take on the events in canon and I already enjoy a time loop/ time travel fic. But the part I love the most about this fic is that it’s pro-Jedi. Too many Codywan fics find it necessary to disparage or misrepresent the Jedi and their beliefs in order to make the relationship work but Jedi are allowed to love! And this fic is such a beautiful reminder of that. It also captures the gentleness that Cody and Obi Wan have in their relationship with each other in such a lovely way. I fully accept this as the new canon.
Ghosts of the Dead by Just_Here_To_Procrastinate (zombie au)
This is definitely the heaviest fic on the list but trust me. It’s a masterpiece. Also happy ending too, so don’t worry. Just be cautious for mentions of blood and gore if that isn’t your thing. It doesn’t go overboard with it at all but better safe than sorry.
This is a zombie au and I understand that genre isn’t for everyone, but when people say that they’ve read fanfictions that are better than traditionally published novels, this is the kind of this they’re talking about. There’s a section of this fic which is maybe one of the most beautifully written things I’ve ever read. I wish I could give more context but it happens to be at the most pivotal moment of the entire story and I don’t want to spoil anything so you’re going to have to trust me. This fic is insanely good. It’s quite a long one and worth every single second you spend reading it. I love the narrative style and how it fits into the actual plot of TCW too. The characterization is fantastic too.

Sunday Snippet
Hello, friends. Today I'm here to bring you a snip from the winner of this WIP Poll Game, the Codywan Pirate AU. I wrote 100 sentences in this WIP, one for each of the 100 votes it received, and here is a wee sample of the new material. Thank you to everyone who voted and helped keep me motivated to put words on the page during a very difficult period.
......
Kenobi stood in the doorway for a moment and then stepped backward, leaving the entrance to the hallway open. Cody raised an eyebrow.
“I’d ask if you’ve finally decided to kill me,” he said, “but that would seem like a waste after all the trouble you went through to keep me alive.”
“Very economically observed,” Kenobi replied. “No, Captain: I’ve come to invite you above deck - now, and whenever you please.”
Cody stared at him.
“You’re serious,” he said, and Kenobi inclined his head.
“I think it’s time you had the chance to stretch your legs again.”
“You may remember I tried to escape,” Cody pointed out. “About eight days ago in fact.”
“I would have been disappointed if you hadn’t, my dear,” Kenobi replied. “Now what do you say to a stroll?”
The offer seemed unaccountable, but then, so had nearly every decision Kenobi had made since boarding Cody’s ship. Cody rose carefully to his feet.
“After you then.”
Cody followed Kenobi down the hall, toward the narrow stairs that led above deck. As they neared the first step, the air shifted - a waft of warm brine and sea spray - and Cody felt something sting at the corners of his eyes. He blinked, then blinked again as he climbed up and into the sun. It was a clear day: fair winds and pleasant seas, and Cody was aware that his cheeks were stinging now, and wet, but he couldn’t bring himself to care.
“Nothing quite like a bit of fresh air,” Kenobi observed, though he wasn’t looking at the scene around them.

a life known in patchwork (SubCody Week 23)
A very belated posting as I lost this in my docs! SubCody Week 2023 day 7 - cockwarming, hair cutting/shaving. Codywan, Tatooine Husbands. Minor hurt/comfort and past injury. Trans Obi-Wan.
Ben taps the binos against his hip before he raises them to his eyes, shielding the cracked plastic with his other hand. The world doesn’t bloom into sharp focus, it remains the same blurred distinction of rough shapes and patches of brown, yellow and darker brown but it’s enough for him to catch the steady movement of a single dark craft and its easy path upwards.
He watches it until he can’t any longer, grief and the heat tearing him apart in equal measure.
His perch atop the small hut isn’t the most secure and Ben knocks loose a cascade of stone as he slides down, judging the distance to not be that far. He’s wrong, as he’s finding he so often is recently, and his ankle throbs with every braced step back inside. He straightens before he knocks against the door — the same pattern every time whether it is against stone or wood or the back of Cody’s hand — and shifts his weight to something closer to equal, before he steps inside.
“How’s your ankle?” Cody asks, his dark eyes crinkling in amusement in the sweep of shadows across their kitchen table. Initially, Ben takes the parts scattered over their kitchen table to be blaster parts and something cold slips down his spine, but the thought is corrected in the next moment as Cody picks up a distorted coil and begins to try and smooth it back into compliance.
“It’s fine.” Ben limps as delicately as he can, trying to project serenity as if he does this all the time. He manages to support himself against the low shelf that Cody has constructed into something closer to a kitchen than what Ben had been subsiding on before him. The kettle is old but still serviceable, much like them both. “The ship has left.”
“Oh?” Cody tries to keep his voice level and fails utterly. His reflection slumps for an instant before he straightens, his jaw clenched beneath the freshly grown beard.
Ben nods, busying himself with two mugs. Picking up the small jar they use for caf, he peers into it, noting the visible bottom of it after their weeks of enforced isolation with the group of stormtroopers making a sweep of the planet. His tea had run out several days prior and it had only been strict rationing on Cody’s part that his caf had stretched out so long. “I watched the ship leave. Caf?”
“How much is left?”
Ben knocks the jar against his palm, trying to work some of the older mixture free. “Enough for a cup, my love. We’ll need to go into town soon.”
It is a strange measure of time that they have fallen into, doling out the days and weeks into scoops of caf or bowls of stew, torn between the need to keep supplies on hand and the equally urgent requirement to stay away from the town as much as possible. Cody’s face, as beautiful as he is, especially now when time has traced fine lines over the corners of his eyes and worry has been etched into his forehead, adding to the crop of grey sprinkled through his curls, is still one of the most recognisable in the galaxy and Ben doesn’t fare much better.
He scratches through the fresh beard he’s grown over their last few weeks of isolation, relishing at the rasp beneath his nails, the grit that falls free at his touch. Sand is everywhere on this planet, it feels only right that he should carry some of it with him. “And a shave wouldn’t go amiss either, Cody love.”
Turning, Ben watches Cody like he watched the huddle of stormtroopers picking their way across a distant town, trying to pick out the welded-straight backs of the troopers he might recognise amongst the huddle of fresh soldiers that he would only recognise by the fevour in their eyes — too young, always too young and Ben had thought he had experienced every cruelty the universe could have inflicted upon him and then they sent children to try and tempt him to the slaughter. He doesn’t know if the other troopers are going grey beneath their helmets. He doesn’t know if any of them are still alive at all.
But he knows Cody is alive. He knows Cody is here with him in all their fading glory in a life neither had thought of but hoped for a version of all the same.
“You’re thinking too much.” Cody holds up a piece of the vaporater, peering through it with a frown. A delicate circle of light flickers over his face as the remnants of the storm claw out a final gasping breath. “Shave first or later?”
“First, my love. I’ve missed you too much to wait.” Ben nearly misses the catch of Cody’s breath beneath the hiss of the kettle as their scant water supply rolls into a boil, but the press of Cody’s hands to his hips — a touch so familiar that Ben knows it as well as his own hands — is impossible to miss.
Cody’s hands don’t stay on Ben’s hips, one moving down over the front of his thigh while the other climbs higher, kneading into the soft muscle of Ben’s chest. “Missed me, my stars?” Cody mumbles, his nose pressed to the nape of Ben’s neck. “We’ve not spent a day apart in weeks.”
“Cody,” Ben sighs, relaxing into the other man’s touch. It isn’t purposeful, not truly, a casual exploration of places Cody already knows a thousand times over, and something twists in the base of Ben’s stomach, a clench and release in the promise of things to come. Ben tips his head back to the brace of Cody’s shoulder, ignoring the warning ache along the side of his neck that promised a limited scope of movement if he feels like pressing his luck for too long. Cody, ever a starving opportunist, kisses the crux of Ben’s neck, following it with a nip, a rasp over his fresh beard.
“Cody,” Cody whispers, mimicking the guttural hum of Ben’s accent, rounding his vowels in the Stewjoni way. “Lost your words already, husband?”
“Not quite, my love.” Ben straightens with some difficulty, the urge to sink further back into Cody at the mention of their titles — husband, they’re husbands by every count that matters and Ben could love him for a thousand lifetimes and it still wouldn’t be an accurate measure. “Shave first.”
Cody snorts, doesn’t bother trying to hide his laughter as he inclines his head to the side. It’s more difficult to see on his darker skin but his intent is clear as he presses his fingers against the side of his neck, brushing over the rough patches of irritation, the singular bruise bitten into the hinge of his jaw. “Oh, so now we’re shaving first.”
His thumb smooths over the jut of Ben’s hip, chasing the fold where his robes would have lain. “I can’t shave you.”
“I know.”
They had tried before, once in the early weeks when Cody was only still mostly himself, fraying at the edges and trying to hold himself together with nothing but gritted teeth and a knowledge what failing meant, but there had been moments that were harder than others and Ben, a towel thrown around his shoulders with soap on his cheeks and a razor in Cody’s hand had been too difficult to resist. The cut didn’t scar, Cody had smeared enough of their supply over it to make sure that it healed smooth and invisible, but they both knew it was there. They had tried again later, and again even later after that.
“No more,” Cody had said after the last attempt, his teeth imprinted on his knuckles deep enough to bruise and seconds away from tearing straight through. He had been made to be efficient in all areas, after all. Ben picked up their mirror, the razor tucked between three numb fingers, the universe still crooning in the space behind his eyes, and nodded.
“But I can shave you, love,” Ben says, sorrow layered so heavily in his chest that he can feel it shift as he breathes. He reaches for Cody’s hand, following the same path that Cody had taken and presses the pads of his fingers against the darker patch on Cody’s throat before he draws Cody’s hand to his mouth. He kisses the rough edges of Cody’s knuckles, tasting salt and the dull tang of oil. “Please?”
Cody’s face is grave, age having left more of an imprint over him than could ever have been measured by the lines on his face or the grey in his hair, but he nods, letting his eyes close for a moment. He steps away from Ben, letting his hands linger for as long as possible before releasing him and a shiver rolls up Ben’s spine, a heady mixture of longing and anticipation. He turns, bracing himself against the counter, all thoughts of their general day to day necessities now that the storm had subsided discarded in favour of watching Cody.
In the dull light, Cody is glorious. He peels away the shirt he wears, roughly tugging it free when it catches on the jut of his shoulders, and Ben’s grip on the counter only tightens until his knuckles ache with the force of it. He isn’t the same as he was during the war, the sharp angles of his stomach softening into a gentle curve, the protrusion of his hips dimpling instead, and his stance sits a little wider now, accommodating the additional heft in his core. His body had initially been made for war, now it is made for living. There’s a dark trail of hair running over the blank stretch of his abdomen, a few loose hairs over his chest but the bulk travels downwards, directing Ben’s attention to the low slung waistband of his trousers. As if he needed more of an excuse to admire his beautiful husband.
Cody folds his shirt, drawing the lines exact in the same places they always were and places it to one side, before beginning to tug on the cord of his trousers. Ben leans forward, a distant ringing in his ears, transfixed. When he’d been younger, when he’d been a different person entirely, affront braided together with a desire to find where his lax master’s boundaries had been just so he could cross them, he had snuck out and headed into the lower levels of Coruscant, searching for a rumor. The alleyway had been wide, a deep hollow carved through the press of the surrounding buildings and it had been awash with light spilling from thrown open doorways. Ben couldn’t recall the exact details, nerves and time smoothing over the edges until only an impression remained, but he remembered the need to stare, to drink in the press of bodies. A man had stretched out a hand towards him, cupping Obi-Wan’s cheek before he had moved away, and Ben call smell the scent of his perfume now, heady and rich.
“Going to join me, love?” Cody asks beneath the crosshatch of his lashes, impossibly dark and deliberate, his cheek indented where he’s chewing it. He shifts slightly, scuffing a heel across the floor.
Ben clears his throat, feeling halfway ruined already. “I will, just… let me watch you first?”
Before, Ben’s knowing of Cody had been entirely patchwork, stolen moments here and there to build the foundation for a life together. He’d known the exact way Cody would kiss at the nape of his neck, his mouth hungry for any scrap of skin he could reach but halting at the junction of Obi-Wan’s collar, before he had seen the full expanse of Cody’s back and the constellation of freckles he wore. He’d known the sight of Cody between his legs, Obi-Wan’s thighs spread wide to accommodate the bulk of him, and exactly how Cody’s grip would ident his skin, his right grip steadier than his left, before he had known how Cody would segment his fresh fruit ration into an approximation of even portions before eating it, licking the pads of his fingers to follow the track of juice. He wants to know every piece of Cody, to love him completely.
They have time, not as much as they could have, but they’ll make it enough, stretch it until it breaks.
Cody huffs out a low chuckle, ducking his chin as he tugs on the tie of his trousers, undoing the knot completely before beginning to loosen the waist. His thighs are wide, heavy-set with muscle and a ridged scar runs across the front, starting high beneath his right hip and continuing in a hauntingly familiar straight line to just above his left knee, still beautiful despite everything it means. Cody’s cock is proportional, soft along the line of his thigh, the same as everything else about him as Cody tends to point out with the same rueful grin he wears, hand on his hip for a moment before he braces himself on the table and kicks his trousers off. His socks stay on, an old worn set of Ben’s, worn at the toes and darned enough times that their original colour could be called into question.
“Beautiful, Codylove,” Ben breathes. He feels stretched too thin, torn between his fragmenting self control to keep himself fixed at this singular stable point and his desire to crowd his husband back against the table, to fall to his knees and worship. Cody wouldn’t thank him for the beard burn, however, and it’s that thought that makes Ben straighten and tear himself away, rummaging in the small cupboard above the sink for their supplies. The state of the sonic being what it was — primarily tiny and often broken in one way or another — it hadn’t been worth keeping an essentials in there. He lowers himself back onto his heels, briefly focused on the warning flare of pain from his ankle, and steadies himself once more.
“Here.” Cody scoops the delicate bowl from Ben’s hands, the lather following to be tucked beneath his elbow. He hesitates over the razor for a heartbreaking instant, his face carefully blank before he picks it up as well. His grip is looser, pinching it between his thumb and forefinger, his arm rigid. He moves quickly, returning to the table and laying everything out, pausing to tap the handle to bring it back into alignment before he returns to Ben’s side.
His eyes are bright with amusement, a loose grin draped over his face. Ben glances downward, half-shuffling into Cody’s waiting embrace, running his hand over Cody’s waist, the curve of his hip, and the flex of his thigh, the muscle twitching at the light touch.
“I can make it over there myself.” It’s redundant to point it out given that they both know Cody’s made up his mind, filed the forms in triplicate and stamped everything as complete, but Ben still protests, out of habit more than anything.
Cody leans closer, slinging one arm across Ben’s back to stroke along the line of his hip. He’s warm in a way Ben craves, a lingering scent of salt from a hard day’s work and several weeks spent wrapped up in each other’s company moving with him, not unpleasant but merely there to be experienced.
“I wanted to do this before,” Cody says, his voice as even as he can make it, levelled of any extra fat until it is exposed bone. “Couldn’t then, sir, so I’d like to now.”
Ben laughs, leaning down to kiss Cody, licking over the cracks on his lower lip. “By all means then, sweep me off my feet, Cody.”
Cody, his beloved darling Cody, does exactly that. Ben has a moment of unsteadiness, a flip in the pit of his stomach as he is lifted, and he clings to Cody, only just remembering to temper the bite of his nails in the same instance. This close, Ben is free to draw a trail of kisses over the ridged curve of the scar over Cody's brow before he is carefully deposited next to the chair. He wavers on his functioning ankle, still half-draped across Cody’s arms and he marvels at all the years they had missed out on this, on the closeness they can luxuriate in after everything else had been lost.
“If you sit, love,” Ben says. “Then I can straddle you while I work.”
It takes a moment for them both to get comfortable; Cody sitting on the chair, Ben’s tunic folded beneath him with his hands resting on Ben’s thighs, and Ben on top of him, carefully sliding Cody’s cock into him. He’s so full, the stretch coming quickly regardless of how many times they have done this or however wet Ben is. They have some lube left, a little bacta that they can repurpose if needed, but Ben breathes out slowly, his trousers tangled around his good ankle as he carefully sits down, sinking further. His breath is shaky, ragged, and he whines, high in the back of his throat as skin meets skin, and he relaxes onto Cody. Glancing upwards reveals the pale imprints on Cody’s lips from his teeth, one eye squeezed shut even as Cody watches him through lashes beaded with tears.
“There we go.” Ben flexes around Cody, squeezing down on the intrusion, and Cody buckles beneath him, his stomach drawn inwards and his heels rising from the floor as he resists the urge to thrust. The moment passes, they always do, and Cody opens his eyes carefully, approaching his minute study of Ben’s face as if he’s trying to burn his visage onto the backs of his eyes. “How are you feeling, love?”
“It’s still a little odd,” Cody sighs. He relaxes in fragments as if he’s moving down a checklist, the behaviour still learned rather than instinctual. His legs stay wide but the twitching in his thighs lessen as the urge to thrust his cock, still mostly soft, deeper inside Ben passes. Pleasure will come later, Ben will make sure of it, but fucking while shaving is too risky even for them. He can keep Cody close, can tap his heels against the legs of the chair to negate the wash of empty hissing static that comes with his legs spread wide and all of his weight resting at the crux of his thighs, he can do all of this for him.
Ben reaches for the lather and the razor, and Cody bares his throat with a hum, his hands relaxing along the planes of Ben’s thighs at the quiet snick of the razor unfolding. It’s a poor imitation of what Ben can remember, constantly slightly too blunt to remove all of the hair on the first path, making Ben draw the razor over Cody’s skin far more times than he’d prefer. There’s a whisper of irritation running through the back of Ben’s mind, of blood and steel to try and slake the desert’s thirst, and every other mundane worry that had arisen with living this far away from anyone, especially with the dull pulse of pain in his ankle, but Ben sets all of them aside. Pleasure sparks low in his belly, fuelled as he shifts as he works, the same heady concoction that command had given him when Ben had first held Cody’s hand in his, the dirt of whatever planet still covering them both and said, “Good work, Commander.”
Cody, his wonderful beautiful Cody, had nodded, the very picture of professionalism, but Ben felt his grip tighten for an instant, the Force suddenly awash with a burgeoning sunset and he had known that he was never going to let Cody go, not really. They’d been apart for so long but never separated.
“You’re doing so well for me, love,” Ben murmurs, his chest heaving as he pulls in a breath scented with a dull smokiness and the ever-present tang of salt, concentration robbing him of every other impulse. Inside him, Cody’s cock twiches, beginning to harden in response to Ben’s words. Sometimes, he doesn’t and Ben would draw Cody’s hands to his clit and gasp out his release beneath his husband’s clever hands, his cock still soft inside him, before Ben would swallow Cody down, pressing a finger inside him until Cody would spill, a quiet gasp as telling as a shout. But this is not one of those times.
Turning Cody’s head to the side, Ben presses his thumb into the side of Cody’s jaw, just beneath his ear. He follows the motion with the razor, beginning to clear the dark hair from his face. It’s a quiet meditation, punctuated by the gentle rasp of the razor and Ben’s murmured praise as the light outside bleeds beige then gold, and darkens. Inch by inch, beneath the gently fragrant soap and careful attention, Cody becomes visible. He’s still mostly soft inside Ben, his breathing a sweep along the curved expanse of his belly, and his eyes are half-lidded, a single fragment of light catching on the blown-wide expanse of his pupils. He’ll follow any order that Ben gives him and it’s a heady realisation, making Ben clench around the intrusion, feeling himself begin to leak freely. His tunic will be soaked through by the end of this, he realises, his body acting as an oasis even if his fluid intake is scarce. Ben sweeps the razor over the final patch of hair, clearing Cody’s face completely, and leans back to take him in.
“Good, Cody. Very good.” Ben pauses, reaching around Cody to deposit the razor back on the table, carefully retracted once more, and he begins to tighten the lid onto their small container of lather. He can keep his own beard for slightly longer, tending to Cody is both more important and what he wants to do. “I do think you would look ravishing with a moustache.”
“That’s why I can’t, love.” Cody’s voice is mock-grave, coming from somewhere within the depth of his chest and catching on every broken bone on the way up, rasping along with the even timbre of his breath. “I would be too attractive and I would never get any work done with you in my lap all day. That’s not even considering the planet at large.”
“You would be nothing but a distraction, my dear. I would have competitors trying to steal you away from me constantly, not just whenever we go to market.” Ben rolls his hips, testing out the angle like this, pressed against Cody with all of his composure knotted in the muscles of his thighs. He can’t rise and fall like he would need to if he was wanting to draw this out, but that isn’t on the cards. They do have to go into town at some point that day if he didn’t want to resort to brewing their morning caf out of the tin directly. It left an unpleasant aftertaste after a few minutes.
“Wouldn’t go with them.” Cody groans. He pitches forward, pressing his forehead into the curve of Ben’s shoulder. His skin is freshly smooth, strangely cool as he shifts to mouth at Ben’s collarbone. He’s hardening quickly, filling out and reaching deeper, his cock gloriously made to bring Ben every scrap of pleasure with the same devotion that Cody does. He loves him fiercely, every piece of him.
“No?” Ben’s hips roll in an easy rhythm, chasing the crest he knows is about to wash over them both. He’s mostly cut-off from the Force but he would have to be a fool to not be able to ratchet the tightness in his belly tighter, sweat beginning to bead in his hairline as he moves, Cody’s hands solid and grasping on his thighs, his nails leaving behind perfect indentations. The marks wouldn’t last long, longer than they would have done, but time would wash away everything eventually.
Cody’s teeth press against the line of his throat, smooth skin against the rasp of Ben’s beard and Cody gasps, his hips stuttering in an aborted thrust. “No, just you, only you, Ben, Obi-Wan, please!”
Ben sinks down as much as he’s able, widening his stance utterly so he’s suspended entirely on Cody’s cock, and Cody spills with a shout, muffling the fractured end in Ben’s throat. Ben reaches down between them, frantically thumbing over his clit, and Cody reaches over to join him, his thumb broad and practiced, and Ben comes, his toes curling until they cramp.
They wait, breathing heavily, Cody’s teeth lodged in Ben’s throat for a moment longer before he retreats. Cody frowns, reaching up to rub at his cheek. “Your beard itches, love.”
Ben breaks into laughter, Cody following him shortly. It’s a strange life that they built together, but it’s theirs, completely and utterly.

Will solace headcanons
He made Drew pierce his ears. He he has whole dam collection of earrings: small little black ones that all guys with earrings seem to have, small hoops that he stole from Lou Ellen, Rachel also got him a pair of disk studs that she painted sunflowers on. Triangle rainbow earrings, and his absolute favourite gold drop earrings with sunburst charms that Nico gave him :)
I also see him with either a helix or industrial piercing. Or both! Both work!
I am ALWAYS down to push the DeafWill! Agenda!
He’s left handed, Idk how to explain this one, it just feels right (Left??)
Other then the Sun tattoo on his chest (which he bribed Hermes cabin for btw), he gave himself a few stick ‘n’ pokes of a smiley face on his left hand, and a pair of crossed arrows under the inside of his left elbow (in memory of his fallen siblings).
He has anxiety, he got diagnosis when he was 13 and started taking meds for it, he also has ptsd (to absolutely no one’s surprise) and bipolar II.
He definitely got at least a few of his tattoos and/or piercings during an episode of hypomania.
He loves cats! I picture him with an emotional support cat, a Persian cat probably named something real pretentious like Mercedes or something real dumb like pickle. There is no in between.
He used to self harm, he still has trouble with it and has relapsed a few times but he is recovering ❤️‍🩹
I’ve also always headcanoned him as not being absolutely awful at the rest of Apollo Kid Things™️ but just being the absolutely most average at them.
He can also bend/generate heat. Not fire, just heat.
He has a gun gosh darn it! slaps table he’s Texan! He can shoot! It makes sense!
His favorite stims are: folding paper (he’s great at origami!) wiggling his toes, cracking his knuckles, and listening to that one song™️ on repeat back to o back over and over again.
He has a fidget spinner for every color of the rainbow 🌈
Idc what anyone says he’s a great singer! He can also play guitar and of course ukulele.
He uses emojis in his contact names.
He has a really cheesy/corny sense of humor. And dad jokes. He loves dad jokes.
His Fatal Flaw is selflessness. I have no idea to explain this other than to read the series “healing takes two” on ao3
He ships codywan. No explanation needed.
I know the fandom says he listens to county, and yeah of course he does, his mom is a country singer and I mean just look at him, but he also listens to a lot of MCR, Green Day, Nirvana, twenty one pilots, and without a doubt Billie Eilish.

This armor wasn’t his.
It sat wrong on his lean frame, heavier than the one before. Cody shook his shoulder out before slipping the dark helmet onto his head.
He missed his sunshine armor from so long ago.
If he thought ever so hard Cody could almost hear the faint laugh of once before while painting the sun burst on his armor.
These thoughts never seemed to stick around.
A blaster still hung at his hip accompanied by the unfamiliar weight of the eltro-shock staff many of the purge troopers use.
Unethical. Cody thought stomping down the halls the to docked ship waiting to take him away. The weight and feeling of said weapon made him sick.
The ship rustled under his feet during take off, so caught up in his thoughts the dread of this mission sank into his bones.
The sun never seemed more dull.
•••
Sand was everywhere. The sun radiated heat over the barren lands where a small house was situated. If you could even call it that.
Watching the twin suns set for the one-millionth time seemed always new and different. The warm colors filled your eyes and cover your skin in a honey color.
A chest plate was clutched in your lap. The names started to fade ever so slightly, but with the many times you’ve read over them the order was engraved in your memory.
As the suns took its last peak over the horizon before finally submitting to the darkness that bled into the cloudless sky, you spoke softly names names that were painted into the backside of the chest plate.
Starting with the familiar signature of your master and the commanders closely under his, ending with Trapper and the small name of Rex’s tucked into the corner.
From the front of the shelter you heard the calls from your master. The urgency in his voice made your blood run cold and to discard the piece of armor off to the side.
“Y/N” Obi-wan said once again as you stoped near his side, a comm was clutched tightly in his hand.
You nodded your head slightly in acknowledgement waiting for him to say something else.
“Comms and intel found an emperial shuttle inbound.” His tone was even and cold as it has been the entire time on this desolate planet.
“Is this worrisome?” The word master almost slipped past your teeth as you fought long and hard to break the habit for safety reasons.
With a sigh Obi-wan answered. “Not necessarily, it looks like it’s going to land near the town the check things out there.” He turned fully to you now placing a gentle hand on your shoulder.
“There’s nothing to worry too much about young one, but the village will be off limits until they leave.”
A weight was slightly lifted off your chest with his somewhat reassuring words. The slight shake in your hands were present while you patted your old masters arm.
This wasn’t easy on either of you. It never will be.
The brisk wind of the night rattled through your bones jolting you awake. It was new that it wasn’t a nightmare this time and for that you were thankful.
The soft shuffle of Obi-wan under a shear blanket was the only other noise you could hear besides your own breaths.
You knew he was a soft sleeper, now more than ever. But something deep within, long since been buried reignited.
A pull of something through the force while you tried to be rid of it never it truly seemed to be gone for long.
In the distance a small flicker of a light danced along the horizon. If it was a flashlight of some sorts it would imply that the holder was running.
The feeling again bubbled in your chest as you took a few steps out on the soft sand. One look over your shoulder showed your master still resting.
You couldn’t turn now. Whatever force god was watching over you wouldn’t allow it. The existence of fate was a touchy subject.
Strong winds continued to try and knock you down while you persisted through to whoever was on their way
Calls of your name was lost to the breeze in the dead of night. Oblivious of the man that followed you continued forward.
You stoped dead in your tracks while the figure approached further. The force surrounding this individual was sweet and familiar, normally lighting up your face with a smile.
Normally.
Something else, more complex and darker seemed to look around the edges but not close enough to deter you.
The man shook slightly from the spot that he watched from. You watched the twitchy movements as a hand flew too his blaster, but never touching it.
Instead another hand slowly reached for the dark helmet that masked him from you.
A ghost stood in front of you. Once you never thought you’d see again. The great maker above was clearly playing a sick twisted joke on you.
His name could barely form on you lips while taking a few steps back from the man you never thought you’d see again. The one that along with his brothers betrayed you.
You felt a shuffle to your side; the words “Drop your weapons’ rang out through the night from your master.
A blaster of his own didn’t shake. Stepping in front of you the sight of the man in front of you made your master take another look as well.
Obeying he threw the blaster that seemed to stick closer to him than any other trooper he started working with, and the foreign weapon that he didn’t want to be associated with anymore.
Dropping his helmet as well Cody fell to one of his knees, a hand came a cradled the side of his head.
Both you and your master were frozen where you stood. The cloudy eyes of yours tore through every defense that Obi-wan tried so hard to put up.
Through the wind the quiet cries blew to your ears. Your Cody was hurting; in more ways than one.
“Master” you almost begged as you both took a step forward.
Obi-wan tried so hard to keep the people in his life safe. Sabine, Anakin, Cody, and now you. Every buzzer in his mind was ringing saying this was a trap. That he should take you and run.
He was at the purge troopers side in a moment. Obi-wan’s strong embraced engulfed Cody and the weight crashed into him.
For months now this was all that he wanted.
Everything to be drowned out.
“Oh my love.” Was whispered slightly into his ear, Cody was quick to wrap his arms protectively around his general. The one that wasn’t going to get away again.
Cody’s cries became louder while another body wrapped around his shaking form. Weapons and enemies forgotten Cody let down all his walls and the floodgates opened.
“My head hurts.” Was the only thing Cody could get past his teeth and oh boy was it true. His own mind seemed to turn against him, to scream at him that he shouldn’t be doing this.
Good soldiers follow orders.
But even better ones protect those who stand besides them.
“We’ve got you now Cody.” Your voice flooded his ears, blocking out the screams of yours that haunted his every moment. “We can help you.”
Masked by the dead of night only tomorrow would they realized that another soldier went AWOL.

My [ongoing] CodyWan Fic Masterlist
Hello! Sorry that this post is a little late, as I said in another post, I've been busy and it kinda got sidetracked--but it's here now!
This rec list isn't gonna be as long as the other one, since I haven't really had time to get into new fics (life stuff + the work of writing my own fic), but there a still a good chunk of them + a couple are series.
They're gonna be separated into "Ongoing" and "Abandoned" so that way you know what you're getting into and I'll put more info in the description--and yes, I'm recommending a couple abandoned works because I think they're still good and maybe with enough support the authors will decide to continue. Either way, they're good fics.
Ongoing
shoulder the sky by @shootingstarpilot
Have I already recced this series? Yes. Am I still reccing it again? Also yes.
I seriously cannot rave enough about how awesome and well done this fic is, and no amount of me harping on it will ever do it thejustice it deserves. This fic has made me laugh, cry, get really pissed at the characters, and it has me waiting (im)patiently for every update--like, every single day I check Ao3 and it's just to check if this fic has updated.
It handles Jedi and Clone culture beautifully and adds in so much interesting world building, it perfectly balances out the fluff with the angst, it handles grief and PTSD very well, and so many other things! The author is also honestly just very sweet and even takes time out of his day to reply to as many comments as possible (which is insane, because there are always like 70+ comments on every chapter).
The Emperor and His Mandalorian by wanderingjedihistorian (RangerJedi67)
Technically I think this would be considered finished, but the author has added a new work to the series every couple months since I found it, so I'm adding it here just in case.
It's a Sith!Obi-Wan AU where Obi-Wan kicks Palpatine's ass and becomes Emperor and marries Cody, son of Manda'lor Jango Fett, as an agreement when Mandalore surrenders to him. I honestly really like how this fic handles Obi-Wan as a Sith and how that affects his actions and relationships with others, as well as Cody being a sort of "balance" for Obi-Wan's dark tendencies.
I'm not even a big fan of Sith!Obi-Wan fics, but this series is the one that got me to start reading some of them--so it definitely comes recommended!
no one left to sing to by slotmachines_fearofgod
This fic is a really interesting take on what would happen in TCW if Cody took more of an active role in the story. I love the author's take on Cody's character and how both his duty to his brothers and all the Kamino bullshit effects how Cody handles Obi-Wan and his feelings towards him.
Also the ending of the most recent update had me screaming and crying at my computer.
The art of living anyway by Itstwointhemorningwhyamiawake
A "Rex is Force-sensitive" fic that follows Cody and Obi-Wan's relationship as well. This fic is pretty new, so I don't really know where it's going, but the first two chapters have been amazing so far!
Abandoned
the sun is just a star by clementines_and_colorful_things
It's hard to give this fic a description that does it justice, but it's honestly really really good. It's basically a slow burn that follows Obi-Wan and Cody through TCW and, according to the tags, would eventually lead to Order 66 happening differently than in RotS.
More Than Blood by generalekenobi
Where Order 66 happens a bit differently and Cody and Obi-Wan end up on the run with baby Luke and Leia, having to masquerade as a Mandalorian couple to do so (uh-huh, yep, totally fake--them have feelings for each other? never).
I really love how this fic gives Cody agency and lets him go "no, we're not doing that, try again" and actually effect the story's outcome. It makes the story a lot more interesting and adds to the dynamic between Cody and Obi-Wan--both relationship-wise and in their newfound mission in taking care of the twins.
I Can Barely Recall (but it's all coming back to me now) by Shortcuts_make_long_delays
Ok, so I don't know if this fic is abandoned or just taking a while to update, so I just put it here--just be aware of that.
This is a Modern!AU where Cody and Obi-Wan used to date, but broke up due to something that keeps being hinted at but not overtly stated (and fuck, I just wanna know what happened! It's killing me!), and now Cody meets his ex "Ben" again when he turns out to be Obi-Wan, Anakin's older brother.
This fic is really interesting and well written and, like I said before, I really just want to know wtf the accident is--the suspense is killing me! Ahhhhhh!
Honorable Mention
An honorable mention for Not This Crude Matter by thebitterbeast
This fic was gonna be apart of the "ongoing" section, but the final part was posted like right after I posted my finished CodyWan rec list.
This series isn't just centered around Cody and Obi-Wan, but I still think it handles their relationship--and other relationships--beautifully. It centers mainly around Jedi culture and it's honestly one of my favorite takes on it. I can't recommend this series enough!
