Summary: Grace’s first day of kindergarten proves to be emotional for everyone.
Part of the Back To You series
-----
August 2026
Thinking back to their childhood, Madeline could remember how hard the first day of school always was for Chris.
All memories of how much fun he’d had the year before or how there’d been no need to worry seemed to vanish every summer and by the time the first day came back around, Chris was a nervous wreck. She remembered the tears and anxiety, she remembered trying to help and sharing her favourite stuffed animals in the hopes they would comfort him the way they comforted her, and she remembered seeing Lisa’s worry as she forced Chris out of the car despite his terror. She couldn’t remember how his first day of kindergarten had gone - she was only two at the time - but she had a feeling that he was currently fretting about Grace’s first day almost as much as he’d fretted about his own.
Grace had been nervous that morning. She’d tried to put on a brave face, but her lack of appetite and the many heavy sighs that fell from her lips gave her away. She seemed to be stoically accepting her fate, but Chris’ anxiety was clearly growing with every failed attempt at pulling some excitement out of her. Madeline tried to cheer them both along and keep the mood light, but even as they went through the motions of taking their first ever First Day of School photos, she struggled to get even a hint of a smile out of Grace as she could feel the tension radiating from her and from Chris.
Thankfully, Chris managed to hold it together when they dropped her off at school, but as they walked back to the car with the image of her worried little face watching them leave in their minds, the cracks in his facade began to show. With years of practiced expertise, Madeline helped him through it - giving him space to have his feelings while also reassuring him that Grace was going to be completely fine - but she had to admit that there was something bittersweet about such a big occasion.
There was no doubt that Grace was ready for school - she was smart, mature for her age and in need of new challenges - but it was unignorable proof that she was growing up. Everyone always warns new parents to enjoy the baby and toddler years as much as possible because they fly by so fast and sending Grace off to school had Madeline reflecting on how true those warnings really were. She couldn’t believe how fast the five years since Grace was born had gone by and the day had sparked a melancholy feeling in her as she worried that she’d blink and another five years would be gone.
The thought had her fighting her own anxiety and by the time they were waiting outside the school for Grace at the end of the day, Chris and Madeline were both ready to have her back in their arms. When the door opened and her class appeared - their little eyes searching the crowd for the grown-ups that belonged to them - the relief hit all three of them as Grace spotted her parents and came running over.
“Hi, Gracie girl!” Chris grinned as she dumped her backpack at his feet and raised her arms for him to lift her up. Madeline picked up the discarded bag and swung it over her shoulder before waving to Grace’s teacher to make sure she knew they had her as Chris asked, “Did you have fun?”
Grace shrugged before wrapping her arms around Chris’ neck and squeezing tight.
“I missed you.”
“We missed you too,” Chris assured her. “But you were so brave. How about we get some donuts to celebrate?”
Grace let out a cheer of excited approval that put a smile on Madeline’s face as she agreed.
“That’s a good idea. Maybe it can be a first day of school tradition!”
“Exactly,” Chris nodded. “Ma always used to try the whole positive association thing.”
“I think it’s called a bribe,” Madeline teased. “And it never worked, did it?”
“Nah, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try,” Chris shrugged as he opened the car door and helped Grace inside. “Especially if it means we get donuts. Right, Gracie?”
“Right!”
Her enthusiasm had Madeline laughing as she climbed into the passenger seat, but she had to agree that they all deserved a treat after such an emotional day. She waited until everyone was buckled in and they were on their way to broach the subject of how Grace’s first day had been.
“So,” she turned in her seat to look at Grace. “Did you have a good day?”
A thoughtful look crossed Grace’s face as her parents waited eagerly for her answer.
“Um…no,” she admitted. “I don’t think I’ll be doing that again.”
While it wasn’t what Madeline had hoped to hear, she bit back a smile at her answer.
“Doing what?” She questioned. “Going to school?”
“Yeah,” Grace nodded. “I tried it, but I don’t think I like it at all.”
“Well, I’m sorry to hear that, Gracie,” Chris chimed in, chuckling at the confidence she had in her decision. “But all kids have to go to school.”
“They do,” Madeline agreed. “But can you tell me what you didn’t like about it?”
With a sigh Grace concisely explained her reasoning. The boys were too loud, a girl told her that her shirt was too pink - which was particularly hurtful because she was wearing her favourite pink shirt - and the teacher made her stop reading to have lunch before she was finished the book she’d been looking at. The clashing with classmates wasn’t entirely unexpected as they’d always known that Grace was quite particular about who she chose to be friends with, but they knew the teacher’s offense was far more unforgivable than anything the other students could have done.
While she was just starting to get the hang of recognizing the words and actually reading by herself, Grace had always loved books. She would spend hours flipping through the pages even when she was a toddler and once she was wrapped up in a story she hated being pulled away before she got to the end. Madeline made a mental note to touch base with her teacher about some of her more stubborn quirks as she offered Grace some support.
“It’s frustrating when you don’t have time to finish something, isn’t it?” She sympathized. “Did you have time to finish it after lunch?”
“Yeah,” Grace nodded. “But I couldn’t find the right page and I had to start all over.”
“Sometimes it’s nice to read a book more than once.” Madeline’s attempt to look on the bright side just earned another shrug from Grace so she tried a different angle. “Were there a lot of new books? Ones that you haven’t read before?”
Just as she’d hoped, the question had Grace’s eyes lighting up with excitement..
“Yes, there was lots of books and Mrs. Ryan said she has even more!” Grace gushed. “She even has special ones! For Christmas and Halloween!”
“Wow, it sounds like you’re gonna have lots of reading to do,” Chris mused as he pulled into the parking lot of Madeline’s favourite bakery. “I guess you’ll have to go back again or you’ll miss out on all those books.”
A deep frown appeared on Grace’s face as she realized that her dad had made a good point, but after a moment of thought she had another idea.
“Or maybe I could borrow them for home?”
“I think Mrs. Ryan probably wants her books to stay in her classroom,” Madeline pointed out. “But it’ll give you something to look forward to, right?”
A groan fell from Grace’s lips as she hung her little head and her parents shared a smile at her dramatics.
“C’mon, Gracie,” Chris chuckled. “Let’s get you a donut and see if that makes you feel better.”
The smirk that slid onto Grace’s face as she looked up at them from under her long eyelashes had her looking unignorably like her father and the words that followed only added to the similarities as she’d clearly inherited his sweet tooth as well.
“I think I might need two donuts,” she informed them. “I think I’ll still be sad after one.”
Her claim earned a laugh from both of her parents, but Madeline jumped in before Chris could comment, knowing that his ability to empathize with her hatred of the first day of school would probably have him giving her whatever she wanted.
“I think one is enough for now,” she decided. “But maybe we can buy two and put one in your lunch for tomorrow at school.”
The way Grace’s eyes shifted into a glare told Madeline that her attempt to subtly give Grace a reason to look forward to going back to school the next day hadn’t gone unnoticed, but she was hopeful it would still do the trick as Grace reluctantly agreed.
When they got inside, Grace wasted no time picking out her two donuts - one with rainbow sprinkles to eat right away and one with pink sprinkles for the next day - and Madeline took her to find a table while Chris waited for their order. Grace pushed her chair as close to Madeline’s as she could and snuggled into her side while they waited. After her earlier nostalgic emotions, Madeline relished in the feeling of Grace’s small body pressed tightly against hers and she wrapped her arm around her to keep her close. She listened as Grace speculated about whether all the various colours in the rainbow sprinkles would taste different or the same, but all she could think about was the overwhelming love she felt for her and how grateful she was to have such a great kid.
They all tucked in to the sweet treats when Chris came over with their donuts, but once Grace had taken a few bites - and had enough sugar in her system to brighten her mood - Chris pulled the conversation back to her day at school.
“So, did you make any friends today?”
“I don’t think so,” Grace admitted, keeping her eyes on the sprinkles she was picking off the donut and slipping into her mouth. “Some of the kids were kinda mean.”
They’d already heard about the girl who didn’t like her shirt, but bullying was probably every parent’s nightmare and something that Chris had been particularly worried about. The answer had a frown sliding onto his face as he pressed her a little bit more.
“Were they mean to you?”
“No, but they didn’t know how to share at all,” she explained, her tone dripping with incredulity. “And someone fell down and they laughed when she was crying!”
The fact that Grace seemed completely baffled by other kids behaving in such a way warmed Madeline’s heart. She knew that Grace had things she needed to work on and skills she needed to grow as every child does, but she also knew that Grace was a very gentle, kindhearted kid and she was very proud of her for that. The look on Chris’ face as he glanced over at her told her that he was as well.
“I’m happy to hear that you knew that wasn’t very nice,” Chris commended her. “Did you make sure she was okay?”
“Yeah, and I shared my crayons with her, but she didn’t talk to me a lot so I don’t know if we’re friends.”
“That’s okay,” Madeline smiled. “I’m sure if you keep sharing and being nice to her then you’ll be friends eventually.”
Grace didn’t look convinced and Madeline slipped her arm back around her to give her a reassuring squeeze as Chris let the subject of school drop for the time being, asking her instead about the donut that she was quickly devouring.
-
The rest of the afternoon was spent trying to lift Grace’s mood and distract her from the fact that she would be going back to school the following day. They did puzzles, had breakfast for dinner - Grace’s favourite meal - and let her pick two stories to read before bed. She chose Chris to read them to her, leaving Madeline to do the dishes and tidy up, but once Grace was safely tucked into bed and sound asleep, Chris found her curled up on the couch with a glass of wine in one hand and her phone in the other.
“Is she asleep?” Madeline asked when she noticed him walking into the room. “She seemed pretty worn out, I wasn’t sure she’d make it through both stories.”
“Oh, she was exhausted,” Chris agreed as he sat on the couch beside her. “But her stubbornness won out and she refused to close her eyes until we’d finished every page.”
“Of course,” Madeline smiled. “I guess I shouldn’t be surprised about that, she’s so strong-willed.”
It was a trait that had been clear in Grace since the day she was born and Chris chuckled as he nodded in agreement, resting his arm along the back of the couch so Madeline could snuggle up against his side.
“She is and I think it’s gonna cause us trouble one day. She’s already decided that she’s gonna get a job instead of going back to school.”
“Oh, yeah?” Madeline giggled. “What’s she gonna do?”
“Well, at first she said she could work with me, but I convinced her it would be super boring so she decided she’d just work with you,” Chris explained. “She said she’s gonna teach the babies how to do ballet because she ‘knows all the basics now’.”
“To be fair, she probably could teach already,” Madeline admitted. “But she’d have to work on her patience. She’d be angrily stomping her feet and snapping at them all if they weren’t paying attention and doing exactly what she said.”
“Sounds like some of your teachers.”
There was a smirk behind his words, but it was a fairly accurate description of some of the more horrible teachers she’d had the misfortune of crossing paths with.
“And that’s exactly why I started my own studio,” she reminded him. “Gracie’s aggressive technique would ruin our reputation.”
“That’s true,” Chris chuckled. “I guess she’ll have to stick with school.”
“She will, but I can’t believe she’s already in kindergarten,” Madeline sighed, lifting her phone from where she’d placed it on the cushion beside her. “I was just looking at her baby pictures. Look how small she was!”
She showed him a picture from when Grace was only a few weeks old, sleeping on Chris’ chest as they took a nap together. It was one of her favourite pictures of the two of them, but it was hard to imagine that the tiny little baby in the picture was now their precocious five year old.
“It’s crazy,” Chris agreed, a soft smile sliding onto his face as he looked at the picture. “I know those first couple months were pretty exhausting, but I do miss it sometimes.”
“I do too,” Madeline nodded, but there was a question that had been bouncing around in her head all day that she couldn’t help but ask. “Do you ever wish we’d had another?”
The decision to have just one child had been one that they’d agonized over, but even though they’d both agreed on what was best for their family, it was also one that Madeline felt a little bit guilty about. It didn’t weigh on her all the time, but there were moments when it popped up and the nostalgia of the day had it bubbling back to the surface.
During their first few years together, they’d talked a lot about what their future family would look like and Chris was always adamant that he wanted at least a couple of kids. He was so close to his siblings and he wanted that experience for his own children. Madeline was an only child and while she considered Chris’ brother and sisters to be as close to siblings as she could get without actually being related, she’d always felt like she’d missed out on something by not having any brothers or sisters of her own.
However, the years they’d spent apart changed things.
While they started their family earlier than they’d planned to, in the grand scheme of things they’d left it a little bit late. The word ‘geriatric’ was thrown around during her pregnancy far more than Madeline would have liked and she was almost thirty-seven when Grace was born. She knew at the time that they still had at least a few years left to try for another, but she also knew that it would probably get physically harder on her the older that she was. She had the benefit of being in pretty good shape physically from her years of dance, but pregnancy could be tough at any age and she worried about how much harder it would be when she was older - especially with a little one to chase around as well.
Those thoughts left them thinking that if they were going to have more kids then they should probably do it sooner rather than later, but their lives seemed too busy to fit it in. Chris’s schedule and Madeline’s plans for her dance studio were already hard to balance while making Grace their priority and they couldn’t shake the feeling that adding even one more child to the mix would be unfair. Something would have to give and they worried that they would end up stretching themselves too thin and Grace and any other children they had would be the ones who suffered.
They’d spent weeks debating it and weighing the pros and cons until they eventually decided that having one child to pour all of their love into was enough. They were both happy and confident in their decision, but Madeline’s guilt came from knowing that if she’d handled things differently in the past then they would have had more time to have the family that they’d always talked about.
“Sometimes,” Chris admitted. “But I think our family is perfect the way it is, don’t you?”
“I do, I’m really happy with our family,” she agreed. “But sometimes I feel like I let you down.”
Chris’ face twisted into a look that made it clear he thought she was being ridiculous as a scoff fell from his lips.
“How?”
“By messing things up the first time around,” she explained. “I know you always wanted more kids and sometimes I feel bad that you didn’t get to have that.”
“I wanted more kids when I was younger and thinking about an ideal scenario, but sometimes what you think you want isn’t what you actually need,” Chris wisely pointed out. “I’d rather be a great dad to one kid than an exhausted, lousy dad to five.”
His unwavering reassurance put Madeline at ease as a smile slid onto her face.
“So you don’t secretly resent me for it?”
“Never,” he insisted, squeezing her tightly against his side as he leaned down to press a kiss against the top of her head. “We made the decision together and I stand by it one hundred percent.”
“Me too,” Madeline agreed. “And I think Grace is gonna be hard enough to handle as she gets older. She’s too smart for her own good, she already runs circles around us.”
“She sure does,” Chris chuckled. “I feel bad for her teacher, Grace’ll be whipping those kids into shape herself if they’re not careful.”
“Her teacher’s lucky,” Madeline countered. “Grace will be doing her job for her.”
“That’s true,” Chris relented. “I just hope she makes some friends too.”
“It might take her a little bit longer, but I’m sure she will,” Madeline assured him. “I mean, you managed to make friends and you were an emotional wreck who spent half your time at school crying.”
“Yeah,” Chris smirked. “But the other half of the time I was so much fun that everyone wanted to be my friend.”
Madeline rolled her eyes at his somewhat exaggerated memory of what happened and jumped in to defend her daughter.
“Gracie is fun too,” she reminded him. “She just needs a little time to let her guard down.”
“I know, I know. I just worry about her.”
Chris let out a sigh and Madeline stretched up to press her lips against his in an attempt to bring him some comfort.
They’d had many conversations over the years about Grace and all her unique little characteristics. They loved every part of her and wouldn’t change a thing, but every parent worries that their child’s idiosyncrasies will lead them into trouble and Chris and Madeline were no exception to that rule. At the end of the day, they just had to accept that they couldn’t protect her from every hurdle she would face and make sure that they were there to help her through any problems she ran into. She was a tough kid with an unbelievable amount of love and support behind her and despite their concerns they knew that she would get through the challenge of kindergarten one way or another.

The decision wandered through your mind trying to be made as you sat inside the car with a head full of doubts. You couldn't help but lean back in the driver's seat closing your eyes, letting out a slight sigh between your lips. Guilt was present in you and you couldn't explain why, for in your thoughts was present that you had committed, or were about to commit, any act bordering on recklessness. Two months had passed since your parting, and though you tried to forget him you could not get him out of your thoughts, yet, though you were no longer together as such, your reasoning informed you that you were not acting rightly, and that fact might have been caused by the feelings your heart still harboured for him.
Finally, after a few minutes of meditation, you opened your eyelids and let the brightness of that morning in the small Massachusetts town into your eyes, but quickly covered your face with the palms of your hands, letting a sound of frustration escape from within you. You couldn't stay there any longer, hidden inside the car, so a mere decisive nod of the head emphasised your acceptance of the proposition Chris had made to you a few weeks ago, and with such firmness you placed his right hand on the knob and opened the car door. The coldness of the weather fell upon you, sending a shiver from the back of his neck to the tips of your toes, but the quietness of the street relaxed you, for what you feared most at that moment was that the press would report your presence there with your companion, causing a halo of fabricated stories to reach the ears of the world. Thus, and obviating any negative thoughts, you put on your sunglasses before you started your way to the charming pastry café, looking again at your watch and fearing for your tardiness, for the decision had taken you thirty minutes, Chris would have disappeared from there.
As you approached the shop you realised that it had hardly changed since the last time you came, the glass panes on the front of the shop revealed a variety of sweet and savoury pastries, accompanied by a tantalising raspberry scent. Small tulips decorated the front door, where a wooden sign informed you that the shop was open and at your disposal. You couldn't help but take a deep breath of air before you decided to push open the glass door, before you were grateful for the warmth that opened up in contrast to the cold of Massachusetts.
You removed the cap from your head and smiled immediately as a young woman approached you with a friendly expression on her face, inviting you to step inside and take a seat. Gently you thanked her for her kindness as you unbuttoned each button of your coat. It took you only a few seconds to scan the place with your eyes, evidently to look for him, and you found him, at your table, in a small corner of the room, offering you one of his smiles in the distance as he fiddled restlessly with his hands. You tried with all your might to avoid him, but on your lips a nervous smile showed its presence, which meant that in the blink of an eye you could see Chris widen his. You were only a few feet away from each other, but the distance seemed infinite to both of you as you began to walk towards him.
As if he were a gentleman of old, Chris rose from his seat awaiting your arrival, keeping his blue eyes fixed on yours with barely a blink of an eye. You had imagined that situation in your head every night of every day since Chris had informed you by a message on your answering machine that he was going to visit his hometown, or rather your hometown. At first you didn't respond to the suggestion to meet again, because things were not easy between you and you didn't know how to act in that situation, but you decided to accept his proposal.
As you were shortening the distance, your heart accelerated, making you feel as if you were in a slowed down movie scene, as if you were moving in slow motion, until you reached him and his arm rested firmly on your back, making the distance come to nothing.
As the distance shortened, your heart sped up, making you feel as if you were in a slowed down movie scene, as if you were moving in slow motion, until you reached him and his arm rested firmly on your back, making the distance come to nothing. It was two, no, a year and eight months, that passed without knowing anything about each other since things were cut short, it wouldn't really hurt so much to say it if it hadn't started with a childhood friendship, but things happen. The fear you felt at that moment had disappeared the moment Chris had taken the initiative to offer you that hug that was lasting longer than socially established, but that was too comforting to bring you feelings you thought were lost.
"I'm sorry I'm late," you mumbled without so much as an inch from him.
"You've come, that's all that matters," he said, stepping back to look at your face.
The fact that they came within inches of each other's faces caused your gazes to withdraw and you each took your seats, facing each other at the little round table at which you had spent so many moments.
"It's great to be back here," he said, rolling up the sleeves of his shirt and looking around.
"Yes," you mimicked his gesture of looking around. "I guess there's no better place to try raspberry pie."
"Agreed absolutely," after saying those words silence flooded around you, leaving you with a blank stare at each other and an imposed smile from the moment you saw each other.
The few people around you hardly knew everything that was going on between you, all the hidden feelings, what you wanted to say but couldn't, what you had experienced, and above all, what you had left to experience, although you didn't know that either. That level of intimacy that on thousands of occasions had been an inconvenience between the two of you was now present and you were grateful for it, because no matter how much the media had published about you, the truth only had the two of you.
"Do you know what you're having?" the young waitress who had welcomed you broke the moment with her presence.
"The usual?" Chris looked at you to which you nodded curiously. "A green tea with honey, a cappuccino and a piece of raspberry tart with two teaspoons, please."
"All right," again the young woman disappeared bringing you the previous comfort.
"You still remember," you said smiling crossing your arms on the table creating a distance between you unconsciously.
"Of course, it was many Sundays," he finished his words with a sigh, which again generated a silence that he decided to cut. "By the way, I was glad to hear that you were finally engaged to Garret," his tone became nervous, "I wanted to have called you but..."
"No, it's my fault, I wanted to have told you but..." your voice trailed off as you shook your face in denial.
"I know," Chris smiled, "I guess neither of us knew how to do it."
"Exactly," you whispered looking into his eyes.
As if things weren't complicated enough, yes, you were engaged. Maybe it had all happened too fast, you didn't feel it at the time, but now it was as if a pile of doubts was coming down on you like a bucket of cold water. When Chris said the word fiancée and Garret in the same sentence, while being happy to hear it, it was as if an arrow pierced your heart. You had no doubts at the time, you opened your heart to Garret, after Chris had completely shattered it, you accepted his proposal with all your love, but you were terrified of how quickly Chris was making you doubt in those moments.

"So how long are you staying in town?" you asked that question just to change the subject, to break away from the thoughts that were eating away at you.
"I leave on Tuesday next week, so... five days," he explained, fixing his gaze behind you, as the waitress brought a tray with your breakfast. "Thank you."
"Thank you very much," you pleaded offering her a smile as she set your cup of tea down in front of you before leaving again.
"And when are you leaving for Washington?" Chris arched an eyebrow as he stared at his coffee and the way he swirled the spoon around, but seeing that you were silent, as you were taken by surprise that he knew you were leaving for Washington, he looked up at you. "My sister told me."
"I see your sister has caught you up on everything," you said with a little laugh, spooning up a piece of raspberry pie. "In two months, Garret is taking care of all the paperwork from there, he's also found a house in the suburbs, away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. He's really going to a lot of trouble."
"It's normal," he shrugged, "it's your future."
"I guess," you whispered taking the cup in your hands.
Weird, that was the word that defined the situation at the moment, you knew Chris well enough and he evidently knew you well enough to know that there was an end to your meeting and neither of you were putting it on the table. He wanted to meet you again for a reason and you had gone to meet him again for a reason, but neither of you were putting it on the table.
"By the way, I went to the cinema to see the latest Avengers movie," you said, resting your face in the palm of your hand. "I really loved it."
"Oh come on, you don't have to do that anymore," he said between smiles, "I know you hate them."
"That's not true!" you exclaimed with a chuckle, looking offended at his comment. "You know I really enjoy them, I'm sorry if you're not my favourite superhero."
"Ah, so I'm not your favourite superhero, you didn't think that the night that... well you know," he hid a laugh and ducked his face, you arched your eyebrows opening your mouth in surprise at his words. "I'm sorry, that comment was out of line."
"I can see you're still too smug Evans," you shook your face with a smirk and looked away.
Those were the moments that made you miss Chris every day, your childhood friend, your mischief ally, your first love, your prom date, your first kiss, your ex-partner. Too many memories to let it all slip away because of a turning point, when you both realised that your relationship wasn't working as a couple over the years. It was a hard moment for both of you to come to terms with reality, a reality that seemed totally unrealistic, but the paths you had taken were too far apart to be compatible. Each of you had your own dreams, your own goals in life, which were far removed from each other, so before either of you gave up on your dreams, you chose to give up on your relationship.
"How was it?" asked Chris after putting a piece of cake in his mouth.
"What do you mean?"
"How did Garret ask you to marry him?" he asked crossing his arms over the table, approaching you. "Well, if you're uncomfortable or..."
"No. It was over dinner, it was actually quite conventional," you began to explain distractedly. "We both took a week's holiday from the office, so we decided to take a trip to Montreal, you know to unwind, so he set up a romantic dinner in the hotel suite and asked me to marry him."
"And you accepted," concluded Chris nodding taking the cup of coffee and taking a sip.
"I accepted," you repeated looking at the tea.
"I suppose you don't have to put on a show when you're going to ask someone to marry you," he began, looking at your face. "I guess when it's clear to you, it's the person you love and want to spend the rest of their life with, all the frills don't matter, it's the words that matter."
"I suppose," you murmured looking away from his gaze and instinctively focusing it on your engagement ring.
Chris really was good at making you feel a lump in your throat with his every word. How was it possible that you were so confused at the time, you had considered the consequences that breakfast might have on you, but really when you left the house that morning you had no idea what it was going to be like to face Chris.
"Are you happy?" that question came out of Chris's mouth like a bullet and threw you completely off balance.
"How?" you rebutted with a frown, hoping your ears hadn't heard his words correctly.
"I want to know if you're happy," his tone was calm, he spoke each word slowly staring at you, making you lose yourself in his eyes.
"I..." you mumbled drawing air into your lungs, making time to find an answer to offer him.
How could he even think of asking you that question? Everyone knows it's an unanswerable question, no one can offer you a concise and firm answer to that question, because if you say 'yes', you were probably lying and if you say 'no' you're probably lying too, it's an unanswerable question, and you hated it every time you heard it from someone. You have moments of happiness in life, as well as moments of bitterness, but no one is 100% happy, or at least that's what you thought.
"I'm not sure what you want me to answer," you said, avoiding addressing an answer.
"I want to know if he makes you happy," he finally said with a shrug. "That's easy."
"Yes," you said with barely a thought, nodding a little confused. "Yes, he makes me happy."
"Okay," he whispered nodding, his countenance serious. "Then that's it."
That's it? That's all I wanted to know, that's why I was meeting you in that coffee shop? You wanted to know if Garret made you happy? You assumed that was his reason, why he wanted to have this reunion with you, but it was all really confusing. It got even more confusing when Chris put down his coffee cup, got up from his seat, put on his scarf and jacket and went to pay, leaving you completely bewildered and desolate at the round table. Your eyes followed your every step, but you barely had time to react as Chris was already on his way out the door when you stood up from your chair. You grabbed your belongings without a sign of alteration on your face, and with a slow but steady step you headed for the exit, thanking the kind waitress again for her service.
As you left the bright morning had turned grey, there was no shade and those clouds looked like a storm. Chris had gone up the street, and had turned down a charming alley full of typical houses, you didn't want to shout his name, so you quickened your pace to catch up with him and stand beside him.
"Can you explain to me what the hell just happened in there? Because I really didn't understand anything," you asked harshly, seeking his gaze, but he was staring straight ahead under that Red Sox cap that hid much of his face.
"I guess there's nothing to explain," his steps didn't stop, "I really wanted to see you, to hear from you, to know if you're happy, and you are, that's all that mattered to me."
You began to understand where the turning point at breakfast had come from, at what point there had been that change of attitude in Chris, it was when you had said yes, Garret made you happy, which was funny because how could Chris expect you to say he didn't make you happy. Still you needed an answer to what would have happened if you had answered no.
"Wait," you addressed with a frown, but he didn't stop, so you ran to stand right in front of him, causing him to be unable to move forward and look you in the face. That fact seemed to annoy him.  "What if instead of telling you it made me happy, I had told you it didn't make me happy?"
You thought in that instant that you had managed to stop him, to get his attention, but after a couple of seconds he made an attempt to dodge you and continue walking down that lonely alley.
"Chris!" you exclaimed, grabbing his arm to stop him, causing him to turn suddenly towards you. "Can you answer my question?"
"Do you really want to know?" he inquired in a raised tone, his brow furrowed and his hands shoved inside his coat pockets.
"I want to," you said, unlike him, with a quieter volume, causing Chris's features to relax as he listened to you.
"Alright, being that you'll regret it after you hear it," Chris nodded, looking to the side and then back into your eyes. "I probably would have acted without thinking and kissed you."
You regretted it, instantly after hearing him say those words out loud. As if in a flashback, it came to your mind what that moment would have been like, if Chris had closed the distance between you in that charming café to kiss you after two years. You regretted doing that too, but Chris broke your thoughts.
"Because yes, if you're wondering I'm still in love with you, and yes, I still blame myself for everything that happened, it all went to shit," he continued with an infuriated tone each time the words passed, gesturing freely with his hands. " Fuck, when I heard you'd accepted Garret's hand I didn't know what to do, whether to phone you, get on a fucking plane and show up here, but what was I going to do?" he swiped his hand over his mouth and looked around nervously. "I think this whole thing was a mistake, I shouldn't have called you. I really don't have the slightest idea what I was waiting for."
Body lock took over your limbs, Chris nervously running his hand over his face, blaming himself for everything he had just said, blurting out insult after insult, not resting his gaze on you. Of all the possible situations that could be presented to you, that one wasn't on your list, so you hadn't thought of it, but right now you had to deal with Chris, with his feelings and with your own, which were now creating an immense panic. To add to the intensity, the raindrops were beginning to make their presence felt, watering down a morning that seemed to be quite watery.
Tomorrow the final part.

Marvelous friends - Part 4
Series Masterlist previous part
Summary: you and Chris stay in touch during your family vacation
Tumblr media
(the gif doesn't relate to the chapter, but look at that face)
dividers by @firefly-graphics
Tumblr media
Your 5:30am wake up call came much earlier than you expected, you had barely fallen to sleep when the hotel phone started ringing. It was your own fault for staying up late and drinking more than you usually do on a work night, but it was totally worth it. Chris was so fun to hang out with you would have stayed up all night chatting if he hadn’t abruptly left after your idiot brothers spammed you last night.
Oh well, now all you could do was get ready and catch your 8am flight to Philly. Getting to the airport with almost an hour to spare, you grabbed a coffee and the most fattening pastry (or 2) you could find. Plopping yourself down at your gate with your treats you checked some emails, and sent an update to your brothers, hoping to interrupt any morning peace they may have had since payback was required.
Just before boarding the plane you checked your Instagram account, deciding to post a pic from the signing and your trip to Boston College. You almost choked when you saw that you were now being followed by Chris Evans.
Tumblr media
The following week was a blur, every day was a new city, a new hotel, a new airport but it all felt the same, like you were trapped in your very own groundhogs day. Finally making your way through the Miami airport, you turned on your phone knowing the texts you would be receiving from your brothers since your flight had been delayed.
Standing in line for a rental car felt like you were being tested, as soon as it started to move slightly, one of the workers would disappear. What should have taken 20 minutes of waiting was pushing the 1 hour mark. You had already responded to your texts and decided to check your email to see if your pain in the ass manager had made a last minute change to just piss you off more than he already had.
To your surprise he had emailed you a change in schedule that gave you more time to spend with your family, that put an unexpected smile on your face and just in time for your turn at the car rental desk.
“Thank you for your patience, how can I help you?” the clerk told you. You provided your rental info and waited for him to give you the keys so you could start your 2 hour drive. Instead you were told they didn’t have any cars left in what you had reserved. With a sigh you mumbled “of course, why would I expect anything to go right today” “I am sorry ma’am” “It’s ok, I shouldn’t take it out on you, but do you have any cars left? I’m supposed to be on vacation with my family and I still have a long drive ahead of me”
“Well, maybe there is something I can do” he smiled and started typing like a mad man. After a few more minutes, he hands you a set of keys along with your paperwork and his business card. “Here you are, the car is in spot 27, out the double doors and to your left. If you need anything, here is my number, call anytime” he smiles and you thank him before heading out. You made your way to the car and a smile made its way on your face all on it’s own.
Tumblr media
Hoping in the car, you put on your favorite playlist and made the drive down US 1 in record time. Once you made it to the resort, you were exhausted and ready to crash but knew that would be impossible. The rest of your family had arrived earlier in the day and you were the last to show just in time for dinner.
Your family dinners were always chaotic, especially when everyone was there. All of your nieces and nephews needing to fill you in on anything they wanted to catch you up on in their lives. Before you had made it back to your rooms, your phone was ringing, so you stepped away to answer it away from the circus that was your family.
By the time you made it in with the rest of the clan, your parents headed to bed, needing a reprieve from all the noise, while the kids were deciding on what movie they should watch for the night. You laughed to yourself when you heard they had decided that this entire week would be a Marvel movie marathon.
Tumblr media
Greg, your closest brother, mainly because he married your high school best friend, pulled you aside to catch up on everything that had been going on since you last visited at Christmas. “Why are you interrogating me? We talk religiously, you know all”
He rolled his eyes at you “because, phone calls and text only provide highlights, and I missed my little sister. So, I’m going to grab drinks for us and then you are telling me everything”
“Hey, the rest of us want drinks too, you spoil her, you know that?” of course, your oldest brother, Henry, had to throw in his unwanted opinion. By round 3 of drinks, everyone was up to date with each other, mostly catching up with you since you lived the furthest away and the time difference made it hard to chat as much as you’d like.
For some reason, this was also the time when you began contemplating texting Chris, the problem being there was no reason to text him. The look on Meghan, your sister in law, face should have told you that she was the most sober of the bunch which also meant she would start pulling secrets from any of you without you even realizing it.
Unfortunately, you were not sober enough to detect it and fell right into her trap. “Y/N, what’s the plan after the book tour? Are you staying in California?” she asked a seemingly innocent question.
“Honestly, I have no idea. I need a new manager, Aaron isn’t a good fit and I’ve let too much slide up to this point. Once the tour is over, I’ll replace him and try to make out a plan. I don’t think I want to stay in California, everything is so expensive, but if I’m writing for a show in LA, it would make sense to stay there, so I have no idea” you shrugged as you finished your cocktail.
“Well, have you at least met any celebs while you were out there? Other than your asshole ex” Greg asked as he went to grab you a refill.
“Yea, actually, Sophie and Benedict had been in LA for that last month or so and I met Robert Downey Jr. I have to say, he is one of the nicest people I have ever met, even offered to walk me down the aisle when Sophie’s son was determined we were getting married” you giggled.
“Wow, one meeting and he’s offering to walk you down the aisle? That's rather generous” Greg eyes you and you respond before even thinking.
“Well, it was kind of a weekend of hanging out with him and his wife, they invited me to a party, really nice people” you shrug as if that explained everything.
Your sister in law, Jan, popped up at that and sat right next to you “you were at a party with Benedict at RDJ’s house? Who else was there?” she asked like she was getting top secret details.
“Oh, I ran into Sebastian Stan” you tell her, rather proud you remembered.
“Oh, I ran into Sebastian Stan'' she mimics you “like that’s a common occurrence? WTH Y/N?”
“Well, he and I worked together when I was living in NY, but I guess he’s more popular now?” you shrug, not sure why she seems so upset.
She rolls her eyes at you before storming off for a drink refill. Your brother, Garrison, took her spot “you know she’s living vicariously through you and all your star studded friends” he pulled you into a side hug right before his wife returned and took her seat in his lap.
Before the conversation could go any further, your phone chimed.
Chris: hope vaca is treating you well, looks like you are riding in style
He almost immediately regretted the text “good, now she knows I’m stalking her social media” Chris groaned to himself.
Everyone in the room noticed the big stupid grin you had on your face, but decided to observe rather than push, knowing you wouldn’t give away more info than you wanted to.
It’s been pretty good so far, playing catch up with my bros and their wives
Chris was relieved you responded so quickly, maybe he wasn’t so creepy after all
Chris: sounds fun, hope the dozen kids aren't driving you crazy
No, they are being entertained with a movie marathon at the moment, so it’s relatively calm
Chis: well have fun and enjoy your time off
Chris cringed, he was debating about reaching out to you so soon, but luckily you responded right away and didn’t seem annoyed that he was interrupting your family time
I am so far, even when I’m the 3rd wheel
Well, I guess right now I’m the 9th wheel
Yikes, that sounds even more pathetic
I’m sorry for rambling, I’ve had a few cocktails
Chris: no need to apologize, it’s vacation, I would worry if you weren’t throwing back a few
Chris: so what is the drink of choice for the evening?
I honestly don’t know what it is, Gar mixed a couple of pitchers and has been keeping my cup full for that last 2 hours
Chris: that’s good, I bet he’s the favorite brother…
Oh no, I don’t have favorites……..Gar is the nurturer in the group, he bartended for years, so he’s usually our go to for keeping us inebriated, and he’s a chef so he’s always feeding us
Chris: well, he would definitely be my favorite brother
In moments like this yes, when we need to be on our best behavior, he’s the worst
Chris: sounds like fun all around
Until we are all hungover tomorrow and our parents scold us for it
Chris: easy fix for that
Oh yea, and what’s that
Chris: keep drinking! You're on vacation, live it up!
You couldn’t help but laugh at his suggestion
Easy for you to say, we’re spending the day on the water, not sure how boating and drinking will be, but only time will tell
Chris: that’s the spirit! Have fun and stay safe 😁
By the time you looked up, your siblings were talking about other stuff with work and kids. When Marie noticed you had put your phone down, she decided to have the ladies separate from their husbands so they could really catch up.
“So, I bought this amazing new mud mask, why don’t we head back to our villa, leave the guys here with the kids and we can have a mini spa treatment, just the five of us?” she asked as she surveyed the room. You all agreed instantly but first requesting another pitcher of cocktails before heading out
Once you made it out of earshot of the boys, you expected the interrogation to start but instead they waited until the next round of drinks were poured.
“Are you going to tell us who you were texting or do we have to steal your phone to find out?” Jan asked with the raise of her eyebrow.
“Wow…. it was my friend, just checking to see how my vacation was going” you shrugged, knowing you had to really try hard to keep quiet about what was going on.
“Does this friend have a name?”
“Of course, who do you know that doesn’t have a name?” you snarked back, beginning to giggle at how hilarious you are when you're tipsy.
Meghan rolled her eyes "what's the friend's name?"
"Chris" you responded immediately without thinking.
Marie was getting the mud mask for everyone when Jan's eyes widened "please tell me it's Chris Evans!"
"Um, why would you say that?" you knew you were caught but your drunk brain thought it could help you out by confusing everyone else first.
"Well, 1) we know you, you wouldn't give your number to someone you just met if you didn't trust them; 2) you would give your number to someone who you had mutual friends with this Chris; 3) you went to a party at ROBERT DOWNEY JR's house, with Benedict, so I'm going to assume there are other Marvel actors there; 4) Chris Hemsworth is married, Chris Pratt is married, Chris Evans is HOT and around your age"
She smirks at you, rather proud of herself and all you can do is stare at her "wow, for someone who sells insurance you are quite the detective" you nod and finish your drink.
"Come on Y/N, we are all a bunch of married ladies, and while we love your brothers, none of them look like this" Annette tells you as she hands you her phone. A bit confused you look at the picture on the screen and are completely shocked
Tumblr media
"OMG! Where did you get this picture?" you shake your head and realize you are probably drooling but you have never seen anything so damn good in your life.
"That's not important right now, just tell us if that's who you were all giddy with" she practically whines.
You look up eying her "it's always the quiet ones" you shake your head again and hand her back her phone.
"Just tell us" they all practically scream in frustration. Looking around the room you decide it can't hurt to be honest, they are your family "well, I've never seen him in the tub before so I can't be sure" you start giggling again, that picture along with the 8 or 9 drinks you've had is causing you to get a bit hot and bothered.
Marie rolls her eyes at you "did you look at his face?"
"Did you!?" At this point you are all laughing and gawking at the picture.
Tumblr media
Morning comes much earlier as your room is in the same villa as your parents (being single sucks sometimes) and they always wake up with the sun. By the time you make it out of your room for coffee, they have already had their morning stroll on the beach and ready to get the day started.
"So, I was verifying the day with the front desk and they don't have us down for a boat excursion today, I thought you said you were taking care of it Y/N?" your dad looking at you, trying to figure out what to do now.
"I did dad, but I booked a private boat for us outside of the resort" you grin as you finish your first cup and go for a refill.
Your mom immediately gasps, "sweetie, that's far too expensive, we can't do that."
"It's my treat, this is my only vacation this year and I don't plan on spending the day on a boat with a bunch of peasants" you smirk knowing how annoyed your mom probably was. "And we can't change it because I would lose all my money if we did that with such short notice, and that would be wasteful, wouldn't it?" Raising your eyebrow to your parents, you wave at them as you head to the shower to get ready for the day.
Tumblr media
When you had all made it back to the resort after a long day on the water, everyone went in separate directions to get cleaned up for dinner. You emerge from your room ready to go to find your mom sitting in the living room waiting for you.
Plopping next to her she hands you a glass of water “you need to hydrate if y’all are planning on drinking all night again” she smirks at you.
“So, are you going to tell me what’s going on with you?” she questions. “And don’t tell me nothing, I know you, your brain has been running on high speed all day. And who knows, old mom might actually be able to help”
After a long chat with your mom, you weren’t sure what you needed to do, but you felt a bit better.
You were giving her a hug of thanks when your dad walked in “come on ladies, dinner awaits. You look beautiful, my bride” he tells your mom as he grabs her hand and kisses her knuckles.
Gosh they were so cute, but true to yourself you made gagging sounds as you headed out the door. Dinner was of course chaotic, but the restaurant was well prepared for your clan and you all had a blast
Tumblr media
Hey, can I ask you something?
Chris: sure, I'm just hanging out with my dog and looking over a script, not very exciting, what’s up?
Chris was surprised but excited that you had texted him out of the blue tonight. He grabbed a beer while waiting for your response and decided he could use a break from working and chat with her tonight instead.
Ok, I’m making a pro/con list and hoping you could give me some input
Chris: I’ll do my best, what’s the topic?
Moving to Boston
Chris: well, that’s the pro column, what could possibly be in the con column?
Funny…..I haven’t lived there in ages and I might be taking a job there for the summer
Chris: that’s awesome
Chris: ok, pro, it’s just the summer so you won’t freeze through the winter
You remember that?
Chris: uh yea, it was pretty funny
Ok…..weather is a good pro, what else you got?
Chris: well there is a music festival in May, and I’m sure a seafood fest or 2 during the summer
Chris: so why the pro/con list, you lived here, you know it's the best city ever
You couldn’t help but laugh. Not sure how to respond, you didn’t need a pro/con list about Boston but really about the job you would be doing.
You are right, the city isn’t the issue. I got a call yesterday, offering me an adjunct professor position. I’m more worried about the job….
Chris: well, I think you would be an awesome teacher
Really? Why?
Chris: you are a talented writer, you could teach those kids a lot
You’ve read my work?
Chris: yea, I stole the book you signed for my mom, it’s incredible, I can see it being a play or film, you are very talented
Wow, thank you, that’s so kind of you
I was planning on leaving California anyway, and this kind of fell into my lap, so it almost feels like I should jump right in, even if I’m scared shitless
Chris: awesome! I can be your personal welcome wagon
You smiled to yourself, maybe you could have a little fun this summer

Grey Hair (Chris Evans Blurb)
Tumblr media
Type: Chris Evans x Reader
Warnings: Our small bean Chris
A/n: Just a little drabble I wanted to post in here. I hope you enjoy it. Lots of Love.
"Do you think I'm too old?" Chris whispered, sounding insecure. He had his eyebrows slightly furrowed, eyes looking out of the window next to your bed.
Your head was laying down on his chest while you drew random imaginary patterns on his naked chest. You tilt your head slightly when you hear his words, your hand caressing his bearded cheek.
"What is that about?" You asked him, taking his hand on yours, your fingers locking together.
"I don't know... I was just thinking..." He said shrugging his shoulders.
"Come here..." You said wrapping your arms around his body, your nose now touching his because you lost balance when crawling on top of him. You giggled, your sparkly eyes meeting his "And It's not like I would mind you having some grey hair..." You winked at him making him giggle too. Chris kissed you, his hand covering fully your cheek, his fingers brushing gently on your skin.
"I love you..." He said, wrapping his arms around you.
"A lot..." You finished his sentence like you always did.

Can I ask your opinion on the what if... series? I'm really hating the Captain Carter trailers. I feel like it's disrespectful to Sam's character who has only just taken up the mantle of Captain America and the shield. I get that this is an alternate timeline series but from the sounds of things they plan on launching these alternates into the main MCU via the multiverse. If rumours are true and Peggy appears in Doctor Strange 2, then that means Captain Carter will appear on the big screen as a supersoldier shield-weilding Cap before Sam appears. And that doesn't sit right with me. Not to mention the merchandise that's already everywhere. Feels like Sam's getting sidelined again before he's even had the chance to shine on his own. Anyway, I'd be interested to know your thoughts on it, if you've seen it. (Also, less related, the uniform being the British flag just reeks of WW2 British imperialism which is also just ugh. And I'm an Australian, our flag literally includes the British one! I just do not like any of this.)
Hi Anon!!! Thanks for the ask it's a very interesting question.
I haven't thought about it a lot because I have seen the trailers and I liked it, it looks like a very cool show and I llike Peggy Carter's character.
They have announced the What If... series since a long time ago and one of the scenario announced was indeed what if Peggy was "Captain America", so this isn't exactly a surprise.
I have seem some posts about the fact that there is much promotion and much more merchandise is done for Captain Cartet than for Captain America. And that are disappointed that Sam's character is sidelined and maybe it's too spon and I will changer my mind, but I personally don't feel that way for now.
I guess I would have more of a problem if:
-it weren't an animated series and there was a real show with Captain Carter. I didn't know about Peggy appearing in Doctor Strange 2, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what is the screntime, if she appears as Captain Carter or not. But for now, I personally don't see Captain Carter as a problem or as Sam's character being sidelined.
- if they brought back Chris Evans' Captain America on a different project, like those rumors said some ago. It would annoy me to no end if they used the excuse of the multiverse to bring back another version of Steve Rogers as Captain America, or as
Honestly, for me, there is a problem with Sam's character and how him being Captain America is handled, but it has nothing to do with the What if series. I think it's important to put the blame where it should be.
The problem isn't that there is more promotion or more merch available for the What If series or Captain Carter, because the show is about to air, so it's normal that it would get promoted, that's how it works.
To me, the problem is that we had a TV show with Sam as Captain America, and then... nothing???
The problem is that we had an announcement for a Cap 4 movie but with no realease date nothing? Not even a TBA date in 2024 or whatever? With all these MCU moves already lined up there should be at least an official announcement, even a vague date.
And I'm thinking maybe we'll get to Sam Wilson in other movies, before the Cap 4 movie, but it's not a certainty, and also what about the official dates for his own movie? Not even something like "confirmed" or "announced" with the Captain America logo.
That's what doesn't sit right with me, because for now it looks to me that Disney has no plan to follow up on Captain Sam Wilson... Just from the looks of it, I don't know what they will or will not do.
Am I the only one who remembers that we were supposed to have a Cyrborg solo movie in the DCEU? It was announced and it never happened? So that's what's really making worried regarding Captain America.
From where I'm standing, Disney wants the diversity points without putting in more work than necessary.
Another issue is that historically the fandom never stands up for the Black Superheroes and the Balck actors.
It happened woth Ray Fisher, it happened with John Boyega, and I think John's case it's even more disgustimg because the behavior of the fandom eventually led to his role beong reduced in the Saga...wtf. They preferred to run an incoherent story and make a mediocre movie rather than pay Fonn his due!
Just an example of what I mean when I say that the fandom doesn't support Black Actors: You see all what is happening with Scarlett Johansson right? The lawsuit etcetera.... I have seen dozens and dozens of posts supporting her and her lawsuit.... And this isn't coming from her fans... It's even coming from people who dislike her but understand the importance of what she's doing. I understand the importance of what she's doing... But I can't help and compare it to he support Ray Fisher had in the fandom, when he was calling out the abuse he received from Joss Whedon and from some Executives. Since the story with Scarlett started every 10th post on my dash is about it. And yes, it's still fresh, so it's normal people are talking about it. But when the whole story started with Ray Fisher, the reaction was just not the same.... People were amkong posts that wouldn't get more that a 100 notes, and for me it was easier supporting from Twitter because at least I could retweet Ray's tweets.... but let me tell you that he was bassically fight alone. ALONE.
I have seen so many posts saying.... "I hate Scarjo but..." "I can't stand Scarjo but..." So from where I'm sitting a problematic White actress will get more support than an unproblematic Black actor denouncing abuse. And just to be clear... I do think that the fandom should support Scarjo's lawsuit because Disney is never held accountable for the sh*t they do, I'm just making a comparison and saying they both deserved support but only one of them got it.
That's why I have absolutely no fate that the MCU fandom will stand up for Anthony Mackie or Sam Wilson if it's ever necessary seeing how they turned their back on Anthony Mackie the moment they thought he was against "Sambucky". They will turn their back on him and his character the minute a minor inconvience happen. And Disney/Marvel will love that because they will have a justification as to why they will not follow through with Sam Cap (His characyer is unpopular.... or whatever excuse they will find).
And about the interview thing, I guess I could understand if and only if they had a problem with some of the things he had said... But the fandom made it clear that they only cared about what they thought he said about Sambucky, not the rest, proving once again that the fandom is untrustworthy. Because they were ready to condemn hom for something as trivial as a fictional ship.
If push comes to shove, and for instance they brought back another Steve Rogers from another universe, I'm sure they would be quick to support THAT character instead of Sam.
To me the problem is Disney & Marvel Execs and also the fandom of course... Because the Execs go where the money is... If the fandom is hyping up anybody BUT Sam Wilson... the execs will do the same... because they will promote characters who are the most popular.
It's important to reward reprensation, and hype up movies and shows with reprensentation, but to me it is as important (if not more important) not to reward lack of representation.
That's why I have absolutely no intention to pay for a MCU movie other than Shang Chi, and Black Panther and also Cap 4 whenever it comes out! But other than that... I'm staying away from the movies with always the same group being represented.
TL:DR; in my opinion, there is indeed a problem but the problem isn't the What if series, far from it.

Investendo così tanto in ogni personaggio e in ogni storia. Ridendo, esultando, piangendo.
I Fratelli Russo.

Nel cast del film Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Josh Brolin, Chris Pratt, Jeremy Renner, Evangeline Lilly, Jon Favreau, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson.

Daydreaming
I just had this idea of how It would be taking a roadtrip with Chris. Just you and him driving away, sleeping on random motels or in the car facing the starts, buying food from the gas statition and stopping near the most amazing deserts or beaches. Feeling free from random judgment and schedules.
