Karl when he first spots you is... intrigued to say the least.

You weren't like the others, you dressed differently, acted differently, and most importantly... you weren't like the other villagers, blindly following and worshipping Miranda!

Now, Karl being Karl... he thought about pulling his usual BS about "I'm a metal lord, fear me!" but quickly decided against it; not wanting to scare you off or anything. Especially since you didn't seem local, therefore not knowing who the fuck he is.

{and pshhh don't tell anyone i told you this, but despite his huge ego... he might not actually want you to know who he really is at first. So he'll try his best to act "normal" and as human as possible}

After he finally approached you and engaged in a regular conversation, he quickly finds himself craving more.

Long story short, he seeks you out in the village again the next day, inviting you over to his factory because... he didn't really have a house. Anyway, he wouldn't show you what he actually does in there... you two will be in his office on the first floor, he ain't taking you down into the actual factory until he is sure you won't freak out.

This "friend meeting" (totally not a date ͡ ° ͜ʖ ͡ °) goes smoothly surprisingly. He'll ask you about your tattoos and/or piercings, scars etc. {if you have any}.

After a long-ass conversation about all kinds of shit, he'll just ask the question we've all been waiting for.

"So buttercup, you... eh... one of those emos?"

Time for the explanation between emo, goth, punk, rock. Two minutes into this, Karl stops listening... he got his answer.

You listen to heavy music.

And so does he.

Start talking about Metallica, Slipknot, I prevail, Rob Zombie, ACDC, black sabbath, Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, hell.... even SOME my chemical romance and Seether- and i promise, you'll get his attention piqued!

Especially if we're talking german bands such as "Rammstein" or "Die Toten Hosen" and he'll just... scream internally?

Right now, you two are stuck under Miranda's disgusting-ass thumb.

Dark times man. It's shit, but whenever you waddle into his office whilst he's working... just y'know... get your phone out and play one of his favorite songs!

This man will {depending on his mood} shoo you away, or most-likely drop what he's doing and just... *grab* you and start juming around the room like monkies in a moshpit.

Once the song finishes, his hand will move from cupping your cheek, to cupping CHEEKS. Just him seeing you rock out to his favorite songs... is enough for Karl to get all hot 'n bothered. So expect some bending over the Work-bench and nice grindin' whilst 'Closer' by nine inch nails plays ;)

Word Count: 800ish - sorry it’s so short. I couldn’t resist the cliffhanger and had to cut it off.

You’re sitting in the library, presumably working on an essay for Modern British Lit, but really you’re thinking about Dr. Miller. Yesterday, you had been closer to him than you ever have before. You sit at the back of his class and never raise your hand to answer questions, afraid he’d dismiss your answer outright. 

He’s hot from a distance sure, but up close? Holy shit. The way his curls fell over his eyes as he worked. The way his tongue poked out between his lips. It’s almost cute. And then the way his biceps bulged beneath his weathered band tee… He’s seriously gorgeous. He has to be, what? In his mid 50s? You were used to men that old looking like your granddad… he was far from looking like a grandpa yesterday. 

The sound of an email notification interrupts your train of thought.

How formal. God damn, he’s an asshole. He’s an asshole. He’s not fucking cute.

You assume it’s about your essay, so you decide to stop by his office after your Chaucer class. That class is a trip. The professor wears these weird ass outfits all the time with vibrantly colored pants and you’re honestly kind of living for it. But he also keeps giving you Bs on all your essays without any feedback as to why they’re not As. You’d take your solid B in that class over your 57 in Miller’s class any day though.

You resolve to go to his office hours again later today and go back to trying to write your essay.

He’s preoccupied again, taking notes on a book you can’t see the name of, when you get to his office. Today he’s opted for a black Led Zeppelin shirt that’s obviously vintage, small holes revealing tiny peeks of his broad chest. His hair is even more unruly today and the disheveled former punk vibes are a really good look on him. Bastard. 

Before you even open your mouth to speak, he does that hand thing, like he’s shooing you away. You decide to just sit down and wait for him to finish what he’s doing. 

After what feels like half an hour but is probably a minute, he sets his pen down in the book and closes the cover. The book is called “Neoliberalism on the Ground” Seems… actually interesting. Your eyes flick up to his face and he’s looking at you expectantly, as if you asked to see him. 

“Well?” You arch an eyebrow at him.

“I reread your essay.” You stare at him waiting for him to elaborate. He doesn’t.

 “And?” 

“And it was good.” 

It was good? That’s all?  “And?” 

“And I’ll change your grade to a B.” 

A fucking B? Fine. Whatever. Best you’re gonna get. “Why the change of heart?” 

“Didn’t read it the first time.” 

“Are you serious?” No like, is he actually fucking kidding right now?

“Saw the neo-gothic cathedral on the cover, gave you a D, moved on.” 

“What!? I spent hours on that! Days! And you had the audacity to not even fu--- to not even read it? Are you kidding me?” 

“Listen, sweetheart, if you had to read 98 amateur architecture essays, you’d skim too.” 

“Don’t call me that.” 

“Do you want me to change the grade back?” 

“Do you want me to report you?”

“Fair enough.” 

God, you want to strangle him. “Is that all, then, Miller?” 

“Don’t call me that.” Jesus fucking christ. 

You roll your eyes and stomp out of his office.

You’re sitting at a hightop in the bar just off campus with Cooper and your other friend Em, filling them in on the essay drama. 

“So, yeah, he called me ‘sweetheart’ and I left,” you finish. 

“Wait, is Dr. Miller the hot one?”

“Yes, Em, pay attention,” Coop says, rolling their eyes. 

“Yes. He’s attractive. That is SO not the point, though?!” Your friends are ridiculous. 

“So… how did you get him to up the grade? Did you give him head under his desk or something?” Em teases, a conspiratorial glint in her eye.

“Gross! No!” 

“I would have… I’ve seen him on campus. I’d suck the meat off them bones.” 

“You are absolutely disgusting, Emily. No I did not give my professor a fucking blowjob to get a better grade!” 

“I’m just saying! You could do worse…” 

“I just asked him to show me a modicum of respect. Jesus fucking Christ.” 

“Oh my god is that him?” Cooper is staring hard at the back of some dude’s head at the bar. He has curly brown hair streaked with gray and broad shoulders covered in a green flannel. Shit that could be him.

“There’s no way Dr. Miller is here right now. I will literally kill myself.” 

At the sound of his name, Dr. Miller turns and looks over his shoulder, immediately locking eyes with you. 

“Oh shit, that is him,” you say, ducking your head and hoping he won’t see you. Play it cool. There’s no way he actually heard you. 

“Is he still looking?” You ask, peeking up at your friends.

“Um-” Cooper starts.

“Hi there, sweetheart.”

Dilemma : his name is Polish for Buttercup. It wasn't judged manly enough or some similar bs and several countries changed it to Dandelion in the books and video games

I've been looking at the different names he's called in different countries and it's priceless

We have Marigold, Delphinium, Pasque flower...

Several countries just kept Jaskier or changed it to their own version of Buttercup.

So :

This person was a liar and a player in the past, but I’m hearing “Jesus dined with thieves”, so you don’t judge. Not really. I looked that up and see “sinners” being the word actually used, but I specifically heard “thieves”, they could’ve been a thief or dated one, have friends that are, have just had something stolen recently idk. Somehow a thief is involved.

Long term potential is both of you giving what you’ve got to this connection, moving away from the drama, possibly putting some actual distance in between you and this toxic…thing…ex, druggie friends, old memories, whatever. (Ok but seriously I’ve seen your stuff for it (which fucking SLAPS btw) and this is a series I’ve never really been very interested in, so I’m very curious about what draws you to it! Only if you want to share, of course! As you can see, I am not a real fairy and my spells are fake lol)

Asfdhgd seriously though, believe me, I have no problem rambling about Trolls all day jvjfjhf. This is not gonna be very coherent, so sorry in advance. 😅 (Also, thank you, I'm so glad you like my work! <3)

Okay so. I've actually been here since the trailer for the first movie came out (I wasn't very active in the fandom back then, though). I was already invested from that moment on, specifically in the two main characters, Poppy and Branch, and their dynamic, who I took one look at and said, "yeah, I ship that" hfjhf. I think what mostly got to me was the characters, the designs, the fact that it's such a fun and colorful world, and of course, the music. The songs are so good! Like, all of them. Yes, they are mostly just covers of already popular songs with some word changes here and there, but my GOD, are they good covers! But anyway, love me a musical with fun characters! Personally, I think all of the characters have deeper issues about them than what you can see on the surface and what you would expect from a children's movie franchise. Like, Branch has so much trauma it really just feels like in every movie they are just trying to give him more and more problems hdkhdjd. Which of course, makes him a pretty compelling character altogether. Do other characters have as deep issues as him? Some of them. But like, they don't really have that much screentime, sadly. While Poppy and Branch are equally important characters in the first movie (and well, in all of the movies, imo), the second movie is what I would dub as "Poppy's Character Development - The Movie" jgkjfjfj. While the first movie operates with the whole "happiness is inside of all of us, we just need someone to help us find it" kinda message (which doesn't fully stick the landing but oh well), the second goes for stuff like differences, equality (of sorts), and tbh some kind of colonialism metaphor?? It also widens the world of trolls as we've known it, as we learn of other tribes of trolls, who are all connected through different kinds of music. So the whole worldbuilding here just makes things even more interesting.

Now the third movie. In the words of youtuber Mann of 1000 Thoughts, it "gives no fucks in all the right ways". Tbh the Trolls timeline has already been questionable, as is, with the Netflix tv shows that came out after the first and second movies, but this just throws another ranch in the system, and says fuck you to the timeline altogether jckbfh. Like, I managed to make it work once I dedicated a good half hour figuring out how Branch's secret long lost brothers who he was in a band with when he was a baby fit into the picture, but it's not perfect even then. There would definitely still be plotholes gkfhfgf. But at this point you just gotta turn your suspension of disbelief on and just go along with it, cuz it is SUCH a fun experience besides all that. (This goes for all the movies btw. Turn your brain off, you're gonna have a great time jfkhf.) Ngl this is the movie that really got me to jump right back into the fandom with full force, and now I'm back to thinking about all of the previous movies as well and appreciating all of the characters. Tbh when I watched the trailer for the third movie, I thought that the whole long lost brothers storyline was the worst idea they have ever come up with, and then I watched the movie and I was like, "fuck this is the best thing ever" gjfgdhd. Idk, we learn enough about Branch's brothers for them to be compelling characters of their own, while we also have a 20 year old gap in which we can pretty much imagine anything into, cuz we don't actually know all the details about how they got to where they are today after the band broke up. Idk, it's like a sandbox you can play in. And that is so much fun. Also, yeah. The music in the third movie also SLAPS! I listened to the soundtrack on loop for a week after watching it jfkhfh.

The humor is also great in all of the movies, in my opinion. I think my humor operates on Trolls standards at this point, which everyone can decide for themselves if it is good or not hkfjfj. I'm having fun so that's all that matters to me.

But yeah, it's just. Idk. It's difficult to pinpoint something very specific that lured me in. Although, I did mention quite some stuff altogether jfkjjf. It's all about the experience for me. The movies are just filled with so much energy, which I love, and they are, in my opinion, the perfect combination of that energy and emotional impact. Are they perfect movies? Absolutely not. But I'm enjoying myself immensely while watching them, and that's l that matters. Soooo yeah. That's about it for now, I've already been talking too long hkfhfjf

I now present to you all: Ivy Buckingham!! One of my older OCS that I haven't drawn or (sadly) paid much attention to ever since I created her around 2018-2019! Luckily now she looks ever better than she did before!

Owner of a semi-popular flower shop that resides in Bright Light City and across the street from Wispy and Dave's apartment complex, Ivy Buckingham is a species of skunk called the Plant Skunk

A special species of skunk that instead of omitting a foul oder like most skunks do, the plant skunk will alternatively omit a pleasant scent similar to many types of flowers and fauna, having their own scent special to them to tell each other apart (for example for Ivy, her scent smells of roses) and they also are seen having a certain plant specific to the individual plant skunk wrapped around their tails (for Ivy, she has Ivy vines wrapped around her tail). On top of that, they are also very well known to have elemental abilities that are connected to plants and the earth, hence being able to grow plants with nothing but their paws and tail

Ivy had moved to Bright Light City from a small country town that was very well known for their farming, agriculture, and most of all, their flowers and fauna to start a life of her own and to expose the city folks to the beauty of nature via her plants. She was 22 years old when she arrived in Bright Light City and met Wispy and Dave while she was finding her way around the city and had just so happened to walk into the Millenni-Yum to ask for directions to her new home at the time, Wispy having an instant crush on her since

The flower shop that she had opened a year later is called The RoseLace Flower Boutique, which specializes in flowers, succulents (such as cactuses, aloe), and evergreen climbing vines (such as ivy plants, star jasmine, and clematis). The shop has been featured in a few gardening and home decorating magazines and has had a feature on a popular gardening tv show called Rose Tinted Sundays with Ms. Daisy Duke

Wispy and Ivy are both currently crushing on each other and they both love to tease each other, whether it be by flirting on Ivy's part or saying outrageous bullcrap on Wispy's end. Due to the both of them still feeling like they still need time for themselves and their careers (for Ivy at least) and both still wanting to date other people (they're both poly anyhow so even when they do start officially dating, they would still be WILDIN), they are only on a super casual dating status

To describe Ivy's personality in the simplest of terms: she's simultaneously a southern belle and a party girl all in one. She loves having a good time in any way she can (from taking care of her plants to going to the nightclubs around the city to party) and is very well known for her flirtatious manner towards those she finds an attraction to all while still being down to earth, level headed, and very intelligent despite how she presents herself and will not take any sort of BS she feels she doesn't have to deal with

She has graduated college with a degree in Botany/Plant Sciences

One of her favorite nightclubs in Bright Light City to go to is The Uranium Banana, Bright Light City's biggest and most famous nightclub of all. It is also Wispy's favorite nightclub and they frequently bump into each other there

She has a childhood best friend that is from and still lives in her hometown named Melly Lynn, who is a watermelon farmer there. They send each other letters pretty much every week or so

Her father was a farmer while her mother was a florist in their hometown, her mother even owning her own flower shop there, which was what inspired Ivy to open The RoseLace

Her favorite kinds of plants and flowers are roses, ivy, hen and chicks, aloe, clematis, star jasmine, daisies, buttercups, irises, daffodils, and carnations

She lives in a small condo that is right next to the RoseLace, so going to and from work for her is a breeze!
