It's cannon that Shawn Spencer is bisexual, and Carlton Lassiter is pansexual. But they are never shown "going after" anyone other than women. Which I get, it was during a time when that wasn't "a thing". I mean yeah there were a very few lines and looks but that's it.

Unsure if it's actually cannon Dean Winchester was bisexual, but 'Changing Channels' is on and he's freaking out about Dr. Sexy.

So I guess I'm just frustrated that a show with 2 LGBTQ characters weren't represented as such but a show with a possible LGBTQ character was repressed and confused.

Supernatural!xStranger Things crossover idea

Hey first of all since this is my idea it would feature destiel and steddie and obviously this which features some pretty heavy Cannon changes for both franchises. I'm probably not going to write this because I don't remember enough about supernatural but if by chance somebody does want to write this I would be very honored and just asked to be credited for the idea

Eddie survives the upside down goes on to graduate and deals with upside down nonsense for a little bit before it seems like they beat it for good. He and Steve get together at some point and Coroded coffin go on to become decently well known.

Cut to 1992 and a 13-year-old Dean Winchester has once again been left alone by John so has gone out to steal food for him and Sam and comes across corroded coffins new album (with a picture of the band on the cover) and decides to steal it too( because he wants to explore music beyond what his dad likes definitely not because he thinks the lead guitarist / front man is hot) cute heavily repressed bisexual Awakening.

10 years later 2002 Sam has gone off to college and John is once again in a bout of blaming Dean for it. Eddie and Steve's relationship gets outed to the public and John makes some homophobic comments about it. Meanwhile, a still heavily repressed Dean is freaking the fuck out because the Rockstar he definitely doesn't have a crush on what are you talking about, is gay. Maybe this revelation leads to some...interesting dreams but Dean avoidd thinking about them because he likes girls he can't be gay. Then a couple weeks later Steve ends up giving an interview about his and Eddie's relationship in which he says hes bisexual and explains what that means. Dean has a brief moment of self realization until John shuts it down with some classic biphobic comment about bisexuality not being real and it's just people looking for attention or something and still fearing and wanting to please his dad Dean goes back to repressing his sexuality

10 years after that 2012 Sam dean and cas (forgive me if they weren't all traveling together in 2012 I haven't watched the show in several years) hear about weird goings-on in a little town called Hawkins Indiana and decide to go out there to investigate. The weird goings-on are of course something to do with the upside down to the party convenes on Hawkins to deal with it. Sam and Dean find out about the upside down and the two groups bump into each other. After a moment of then there's nothing to worry about here innocent civilianing each other they team up to fight whatever is terrorizing Hawkins. Dean is mentally freaking out the whole time because his Crush Idol is also a monster hunter and watching him fight off interdimensional monsters with a makeshift Spear and a nail Shield is extremely hot badass. Maybe after one fight Dean walks in on Steven and Eddie patching each other's wounds tenderly and maybe even sharing a couple of kisses and tries very hard not to think about how much he wants that with Cas. In moments where they don't have fighting to distract them Dean definitely puts on his like Macho Man front to hide the fact that he still finds Eddie extremely attractive and of course Eddie's been in the public eye long enough to know what it's like when a man who's pretending to be straight as a crush on him so he sees right through the act. Something happens maybe Eddie's "protect lost Lambs" instinct kicks in and ends up sitting Dean down for a "you're allowed to like men it's okay being bisexual" talk. Dean comes to terms with his sexuality and gets together with Cass a full 7 years before he does it in Canon and they have the closest thing to a happily ever after that you can in Supernatural

I started out thinking about Destiel...and ended up here.

So I rarely post my personal thoughts, and I know I’m not exactly covering new territory here, but I just have  to express some  GUT WRENCHING FRUSTRATION! 

Here’s the deal people. If you have ANY real power over WHO’S stories are written, developed, produced and shared, then you have a RESPONSIBILITY to the world to make sure the stories you’re promoting reflect at least SOME diversity of the human experience (I’m looking at you studio executives and other mostly white cis guys in suits). When you exclude the stories of women, people of colour, LGBTQ+ folks, people with disabilities, and others from diverse cultures, religions or backgrounds, you are LITERALLY MAKING IT HARDER FOR PEOPLE TO EXIST IN THIS WORLD. 

I became an English teacher because I wanted to share my passion for stories with students, and hopefully show them how stories have the power to save lives. Everyone looks for themselves in the stories around them, and everyone feels validated, seen, heard and empowered when they can see themselves reflected in stories, and in the culture around them. When people feel isolated, alone, scared or even just unsure, the right story at the right time can give them hope that things will get better, or that they will find the right path We must allow people from all walks of life tell THEIR OWN nuanced stories, and THEY MUST BE SHARED! 

As a bisexual woman I struggled to come out to myself, and then eventually to others. I am also extremely lucky that I wasn’t in a dangerous situation, and my family and friends were largely very accepting of me when I did come out. However I still struggled, and stories are a big part of what gave me the courage to finally make that leap. I did everything I could to devour stories which reflected my experiences or feelings in some way, and I found a lot of good ones, but I know it still isn’t enough. 

As a woman who also has cerebral palsy, I know that representation of people with disabilities as full and nuanced human beings is very, very difficult to find in mainstream media.

When you refuse to acknowledge another person’s story, you are denying the importance of their existence.

Issues like queerbaiting shouldn’t even exist, because the stories of queer people should JUST BE TOLD. This should just be a normal boring thing. When people look for themselves in stories, they shouldn’t have to beg for scraps. 

This is my really long winded way of saying that I don’t understand why we get impromptu scenes of Rowena/Ketch, but have been waiting...and are still waiting for confirmed cannon Dean/Castiel...and it is crushing my soul.

The stories we tell matter.

Hi there Anon,

I'm not sure what reference you're talking about, TBH. I've only been on Tumblr intermittently recently because I've been busy writing (YAY!), and I haven't seen anything about a leaked script recently. Scott Baio was referenced in 2 actual episodes--4.15 Death Takes a Holiday and 11.17 Red Meat--and I'm not aware of any others. Perhaps someone can post a link or something? In general though, Destihellers have constantly used the flimsiest and often offensive pretexts in the past to declare that bi!Dean and/or Destiew is "cannon," so I doubt this is any different, whatever it is.

These bigoted assholes have tried to use Dean fanboying over Dr. Sexy or Gunner Lawless, liking telenovelas, enjoying cooking and nesting and being domestic, or even referencing films like Magic Mike to claim that Dean "can't be straight," because Jack forbid that he likes male celebrities or things associated more with women or otherwise not strictly follow "traditional" gender roles. That's not even getting into how most of their so-called "proof" is based on scenes taken completely out of context, heavily manipulated images and GIFs, and ridiculous circumstantial nonsense like clothing and lighting color, food, and set decor.

In this particular case, has this leaked script even been verified as authentic? Hellers have been trying to circulate supposedly leaked scripts for months now with no proof to support their agenda. Anyone can type up some script pages, post pics of them, and claim they've been "leaked," but they're meaningless without some kind of authentication.

Even if this script is real, whatever reference the Hellers are making a big deal over continues to show that they fundamentally don't understand how subtext really works. Subtext is meant to support the existing narrative not contradict it, and it's meant to be obvious enough that the general audience can catch it instead of only a few obsessed shippers. No TV show would ever present an established character as obviously straight in the main narrative and then try to use "sooper sneakret klewes" to suggest that the character is queer. SPN in fact is the opposite of subtle when it comes to revealing sexuality--every confirmed queer character has either outright stated their sexuality or done something blatant with someone of the appropriate gender, like hold hands or kiss. Thus if Dean was actually bisexual, we would clearly see it--he'd be looking at gay porn as well as straight, hooking up with guys as well as girls, and so on. This would be true even if he was closeted (which is a whole separate discussion about why that wouldn't happen), because we the audience would still see him doing all that while hiding it from the other characters. The fact that we've never seen anything at all like that demonstrates that bi!Dean stans are simply deluding themselves over something that never existed.

Bottom line is this: the ONLY thing that determines someone's sexuality is who they're actually attracted to, not their hobbies, favorite celebrities, clothing, food preferences, or any homophobic or toxic masculinity-based stereotype. Dean Winchester has only shown actual attraction to women over the 15 years of SPN and has explicitly stated his lack of interest in men--which has been confirmed numerous times by Jensen Ackles, Eric Kripke, and various other members of the cast and crew. Not respecting someone's stated sexuality is a form of homophobia called erasure, and that applies to straight people too.

Dean Winchester is a significant comfort character of mine and even though the show is over, I’ll continue to rewatch it. I latched on to him as a favorite character almost immediately and I definitely found a bit of myself in his character and his journey throughout the show. When I started watching the show, I was dealing with severe bullying in school and felt like I didn’t have a way out.

The boys taught me to ALWAYS keep fighting...no matter how bad it gets. I continued to fight my personal demons for 3 years while I was watching the show and following the boys on their journey to save the world. I felt like I was right beside them every episode, fighting my own internal demons instead of the kind they hunt in the series

Supernatural was in my life while I was figuring out my sexuality. I found little bits of myself in Dean and I find strength in knowing cannon that my favorite character is bisexual. My bisexuality doesn’t define me but it is a significant part of my identity and Dean as a character was someone I looked up to. He’s grown so much over the course of the show. Early seasons consisted of lots of moments where Dean would suppress his emotions and bottle it up, which is something that I used to do for years. In hindsight, looking back on what my life was like when I started watching it vs what my life is like now that the show is over is a stark contrast. I’m much happier now compared to back then and I am attending my dream school.

To me, the boys will always symbolize perseverance, growth and self-discovery more than anything else...

The show may be over, but we will always keep these characters alive in our artwork, fanfics, music and our love for Samc Dean, Cas and all the other characters we know and love

I've just read there are people who TRULY, DEEPLY believe Dean winchester is straight.

I mean, I could be biased by all this people posting gay fanfiction BUT never have I ever in my whole existence seen someone with that amount of chaotic bisexual energy. Like ever.

(I'm not even talking about Destiel right now, I just- i- please wtf look at him if the tv show had started in 2020 Dean winchester would have being queer FOR SURE and twitter would have been full with tweets like: omg now everyone is gay, netflix stop forcing gay characters that aren't necessary for the plot, etc.)
