Meet-N-Greet gone wrong

It’s Meet-n-greet day at Disney! A perfect day for the resident narcissists to get their daily praise in!

(Y/N), who was assigned to supervise the event wasn’t concerned about the panel. Usually all the Villains acted on their best behavior, happy to receive any compliments from annoying millennials in $50 mouse ears.

This Meet-n-greet was a special event, where all villains including lesser known members where present. And even though they were to prideful to admit it, villains like Alameda, Medusa, Rourke, and Sykes where looking forwards to the event.

Before the panel, (Y/N) walked by their dressing rooms and noticed the extra care they took into getting ready.

Alameda pulling on a new pair of suede chaps, Medusa perming her hair as she did her nails, Rourke spritzed some of his favorite cologne, and Sykes made sure to choose some of his finest cufflinks. All minor details, but (Y/N) could tell how excited they where to receive some attention.

Unfortunately the meet-n-greet went like any other, with guests only being interested in the big bads. Cooing over their favorites, asking for autographs and photos. The whole works. All the while the other villains where cast to the sidelines, getting increasingly frustrated as the event went on.

(Y/N), taking notice of this, tried to bring a group of park goers over to the others, both as a way to keep the mainline villains from getting overwhelmed and to get some attention on the lesser known characters.

Unfortunately the guests where not interested..

“And this here is Alameda Slim! A master cow wrangler and genius yodeler from the 2004 film ‘Home on the Range’! He also tried to burn down a local Texas road house!” (Y/N) motioned up at the cowboy, who tilted his hat in pride.

“…what? Yodeling? That’s one of the worst sounds known to man, can we go back to the others, I wanna meet Jafar!” Some person in the group spoke up, with the others murmuring in agreement.

“Wuh- worst sounds!? I’LL SHOW YA WORST SOUNDS YOU LITTLE-”

The meet-n-greet dissolved into chaos as Alameda tried to lunge at the rude guest, who by some miracle didn’t get choked out as (Y/N) held him back with the combined effort of Rourke and Sykes.

Needless to say the panel ended early, with the excuse of the heat getting to the villains. Villains like Cruella and Gaston where pissed the praise ended so soon, while others like Hook and Hades were glad finally to be left alone.

Later that night, Alameda was brought out of his brooding when a quick knock came from his door, which revealed a smiling (Y/N).

(Y/N) dragged him downstairs into the employee break room, where he was met with his fellow villains, all sharing the same confused expression.

“Listen, I know that today was a shit show. And I’m sorry that it seems like no one acknowledges you. But I wanted to show you all something…”

(Y/N) proceeded to pull out their laptop from their work bag, opening it up as they motioned the villains to gather round.

“I wanted to show you all that there are people who love you guys, they’re entire blogs dedicated to you all from people across the world. I’m actually apart of some.”

Alameda and the others where shocked as (Y/N) shared with them all the fanart, ramblings, and imagines about them. Medusa jumped up and down in place pressing close to (Y/N) to get a better look at the screen. Rourke, who was never a fan of the internet grumbled to himself, but had an amused grin on his face.

Alameda felt the frustration of the day fade into obscurity as he guffawed at the things people where writing about him. At one point Sykes began to gag at some of the more.. suggestive content, which only led to more laughter from the group

The entire night was spent scrolling through the countless blogs, laughing and cringing until the laptop ran out of battery

Dates at fancy restaurants. Helping him convince people about heroes About that they are good. Buying you expensive clothes and other things like new phone, watch etc. Doing masks together while drinking wine and watching movies. Playing with his hair when he is in stress. He is a small spoon because he feels safe in your arms. He loves getting coffee and cinnamon rolls with you every morning.

In hot days she will cool you down. Making her braids. Anna loves you and is very supportive for your relationship. Taking coffee/tea together. Common ice skating. She trust you more than anyone. Making you little cute things from ice. She praises everything you do. Spending so much time together. She leaves you little notes when she have some things to do and have to leave early.

Spending all his time with you. He lets you borrow his hat. Deep talks. Helping him saving other toys. He loves you more than anything even more than Andy and Bonnie. His eyes gets soft when he sees you. Putting his head into crock of your neck. Loves seeing you smile. And he never fails to make you smile. He is jealous of Buzz.

⤷ Maleficent

Maleficent never thought she could fall in love again. But she did and it was the best thing she ever did. Protective gf, like even overprotective. Common flights. She always hugs you from behind and flights high just to see your reaction. She loves teasing you. Hugs from behind are her favourites. She let you touch her wings and horns. Neck and nose kisses. Jealous af.

Cute picnic dates. Cheek kisses. Sarcastic couple. Building robots together. Cooking together. Watching movies mostly action or fantasy. Gets jealous easily. He pulls you closer to him when he is asleep. Let you paint his nails. Aunt Cass loves you. She thinks you are perfect for Hiro. Probably little spoon. Loves when you play with his hair. Medium pda.

Helping him with Baymax. Really sweet and caring bf. Spending so much time in his lab with him. Hand holding and really sweet passionate kisses on the lips. Loves hug you from behind. Hoping it wasnt just Milo here to brief you on some new inane information about the culture of Atlantis you opened it and yo your surprise you saw it was Lyle. He stood in the doorway taking up a majority of it and holding some food that seemed a little too nice to have come from the kitchens here. “Mind if I come in?”

You were in disbelief as you watched him sit down and start eating what he brought with him. Not a shred of remorse on his smug and currently extremely punchable face. “That’s it?” You finally say. He shrugs and continues eating. “You are unbelievable. I don’t know why I bother with this I should just break up with you get it over with”

After a few more moments or tense silence he stand once again and walks over to you “come on you don’t really mean that do you?“ he wraps his arms around you and pulls you into a gentle hug. “You know when we’re on a mission I can’t get caught playing favorites right?” You nod into his chest and he pulls away and smiles, this time genuinely not like his previous smirk. “Listen I promise once this is over we’re gonna have more money then we know what to do with and we can go away travel the world just me and you”

When he put that loving on me

“That’d be nice” you respond and he gently takes your hands in his and leans in and kisses you. You can feel butterflies in your stomach as you remember why you put up with him in the first place. He Leads you back to the table and you both sit down and begin to eat. You lean into his shoulder and once again feel like you’re the only too people on the planet.

Steve had a much more interesting relationship with Bucky AND the Howling Commandos, too. I would rather watch a whole movie about them than a whole movie about a forced hetero relationship with a white woman who is written poorly.

It's just wild to think of the CATFA movie that could've been, like a Band of Brothers Inglourious Basterds mash up with the ensemble vibe of Atlantis: The Lost Empire and a gay romance subplot. 🥰

If nothing else, Bucky should've been given more screen time (instead of wasting it on an irrelevant sexy lamp) so they can develop the emotional impact of the one relationship that's going to have importance across all the Cap movies, and even in other universes. The big heart-rending moment of CATFA should be Steve losing Bucky, not Steve missing out on a date he didn't even want with some bint.

It is also mind-boggling to consider that somebody looked at the David versus Goliath story (where Goliath is Hitler) of Captain America, and thought: 'okay, but obviously the only way to make this interesting and relatable is to make it about David feeling inferior because he's single.' 🤦‍♀️ It's hard to imagine that kind of brain exists.

TWST Rant Atlantis

Okay so in the middle of writing the pirate fairy fic I was watching Atlantis the lost empire. And I was like since Atlantic sank what if like the lore of it is that Poseidon had a son named Triton (this is actual canon mythology lore) and created Triton to make life in Atlantis. I also read a book recently which is a twisted tale of the little mermaid where Ariel never defeated Ursula and it had some lore in it. Since Triton is technically a demigod doesn't that also make his daughters like quarter god? Meaning Ariel had god blood in her (That's lowkey crazy to think about) So what if there are still some people from Atlantis that are still living. Because in the movie Kida was like 8,000 something years old and her father started croaking and died when she was that old so Atlantean's could technically still be existing since they clearly have long life spans. And if the current Atlantis (Transformed Atlantica) what if they snatched a colonizer situation and they are using a newer language of Atlantean meaning Merfolk are actually on Atlantis indigenous land.

Imagine a Kida!Yuu meeting Azul and Azul speaks in a new Atlantean and Yuu is like excuse me did you just call my mother a frog??

We need more TWST lore because I am interested in how their civilization started where humans turned into half beasts and humans became dragons like I wanna know the lore.

I did like Queen Amaya switching sides at the end, and I think both Disney’s original and final ideas for Amaya could’ve worked together. Imagine she starts out evil and gradually turns good then helps the heroes once Magnifico turns against her. Like Iago in the Aladdin sequels. That or she turns against Magnifico for purely selfish reasons because she’s that evil , and while not siding with the heroes still takes him down. Like Helga in Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Better yet you could’ve shown Asha turning Magnifico and Amaya against each other hence Magnifico losing his allies and eventually his power.

Character Inspiration

Also, this is going to be a longer post since I haven't been posting much in general recently. I also prety much enjoyed doing this tag. So I thought about making another part with another set of characters in the future.

Rules: Pick a character(s) from your wip(s) and tell who they were inspired by or from.

Ulfrika Výtaušeimová - her sort of harsh personality is basically mine with slightly more (read: A LOT more) salt. Her physical design, though, is mostly inspired by an illustration of a revenant I saw in one of the book with legends about folk creatures I own. When I tried to draw her for the first time, though, I didn't know what sort of a reference pose I should pick. So I used my own reflection I took a photo of. So I guess that some of my features also exist within this character.

Márgerdra Výtaušeimová - she has a few inspirations, like Helga Sinclair from Atlantis the Lost Empire (I liked that mysterious femme fatale aura), young Anita Ekberg as I she had the facia features closest to those I could think about when it came to Márgerdra. Some of her abilities and skills are based on the creatures from Slavic folklore. Like the inspiration about Márgerdra's hair storing some of her power and life essence is tied to the folk stories about 'rusalky' (a type of a water fairy or a nymph which appear in many stories here) and 'víly' (basically forest fairies or maybe even dryads (???) which look human but have magical abilities and can be mischievous, malicious or just minding their own business).

Master Kogar Výtaušeima - his personality doesn't have an exact inspiration, I just imagined what the most chill and cool dad would be and went with it. Cold-hearted asshole on the outside, a huggable teddy bear around his kids. His physical design, though, relates a lot to Karl Urban since the guy looks both young and old (this sounds weirder when sai outloud but whatever).

Miss Yawen and Golden Wind Viper - even in physical form these twins might have a few snake-like features since they actually are snake demons.

Ereanth - although he may not appear that much in my wips, I took the inspiration for his name (and partially for his appearence, too) from Eredin from the Witcher books. Although, his personality is much different. Though, I didn't take much inspiration from around when I was coming up with his behaviour and so on. It sort of came naturally because I wanted some contrast. Oh, and maybe there's a slight hint of Tom Hiddleston since the guy has quite an interesting facial structure.

Faust/Gemini/the Twin - the strange sentient structure in Ulfrika's chest has a few inspirations one of which is the tale of Dr Faust and Mephistopheles and the tale of Pan Twardowski. Ironically, Ulfrika was nicknamed by a few nobles as Mephisto or Pale Devil despite the fact that she fulfills the role of Dr Faust much more. On the other hand, Ulfrika did use the surname Twardowska while living abroad for a while as a cover. The inspiration for the design comes from the game Blasphemous since I found the character of Nacimiento one of the most intriguing and tragic ones.Another inspiration for the character comes from Edward Mordrake (the Two-faced Man as he might be better known).

Most of this was drawn in September of last year, but I decided to finally complete it!

So, here are the penguins of Madagascar and their lemur friends as humans!

I know this has been done to death already, but I wanted to provide my own interpretation. I’ll provide my design choices for each character under the cut, if anybody’s interested!

Skipper: I do not want to throw shade to anyone, but most of the human Skippers I’ve seen are either too young, too skinny, or too muscular. This guy may present himself as an authority figure, but let’s face it: this guy is your average middle-aged man with a fascination for cool spy stuff and repressed bisexuality. Trust me, my dad knows all about it. Anyway, I gave him a tacky nautical flag shirt, mostly because i couldn’t find any high-quality “hawaiian shirt with wwii planes” patterns. If it weren’t for King Julien’s design, I would’ve given Skipper aviators.

Kowalski: Typical nerdy guy. When I was showing a work in progress of the penguins, a friend of mine suggested that Kowalski’s hairline should be extra receded, and they were right. I know that this is the simplest design, but that’s because this guy just doesn’t seem the type for style. More of a practicality and formality guy. I suppose now’s a good time to mention that each of the brothers has an element of orange around their feet, cuz, well, the penguins have orange feet.

Rico: I really hope you guys get the energy that this guy listens to nu-metal. Since human beings not infused with cartoon animal wackiness cannot regurgitate convenient items, I decided to give human Rico a bunch of pockets from which cartoon HUMAN wackiness can occur. His outfit is also a bit more military-like than the others, what with the bomber jacket, cargo shorts, and combat boots. I also gave him what is essentially the boss floss from Splatoon 3’s amiibo gear.

Private: According to Penguin Lore™️, they’re all brothers, but Private is adopted, hence why he’s a bit younger [but not a child!] and I gave him a different hair texture and skin tone. His shirt has an icon from his favorite show, a Lunacorn. I also made his blue nail polish match its eyes. I take honor in the fact that a friend told me “I have several transmasc friends who look like this”.

Maurice: A lot of people who draw TPOM gijinkas don’t even draw him, which is a shame, because I love Maurice. Even more offensive is that some people don’t even depict him as an old black man, which goes against everything I know to be true in my heart. Anyway, he seems like the type to enjoy autumn/winter gear, so I gave him a big ol’ trench coat, as well as a scarf that looks like his fur puff. And the newsie cap just felt right.

King Julien: Here’s where all the flashiness went! According to an actor whom I have a personal vendetta against and thus will not name, Julien’s accent is Sri Lankan, so I took inspiration from their traditional clothing for his outfit, albeit more “cunty”, as today’s kids call it. It was imperative that this man has his toes out for obvious reasons, so I gave him sandals. I honestly have no good explanation for the leopard print leggings other than it came to me in a divine vision. Or something. The sunglasses mimic the color of his eyes!

Mort: Look, it was really hard for me not to just draw Molière from Atlantis: The Lost Empire, since his design is already kind of what I imagine this fellow looking like as a “human”. Admittedly, I’m not too proud of this design, but i think it gets the job done. His outfit purposely clashes: a matching hat and sweater, but with sweatpants, and he’s not even wearing shoes! I know the original Mort doesn’t have any purple in his design, but I felt like its inclusion made him look a little weirder. And then there’s his eyes. Yeah.

Notes:

This post is passed the weekly deadline! That's 1 demerit for me. I'll need to figure out something to do with those to make them effective. This still counts as last week's post so I owe another this week, which I have decided will be the last comic in the Disney Adventures issue.

The story here takes place prior to the battle against the leviathan, seemingly before Milo's presentation on the bridge in the film.

We see that the Ulysses, unsurprisingly, carries diving equipment. However, these are ambient pressure diving suits, good for protection against tearing and cold but useless against the pressure at deeper levels. Humans can't really survive more than 60 meters (196.85 feet) below, which is why Atmospheric Diving Suits were invented! Imagine them in steampunk-esque, underwater robot suits instead!

The "scary fish" (the nayap according to Sweet's Fish Story!) is the first fantastical creature encountered by the expedition. It doesn't seem particularly interesting, though. A weird shark with a feathery tail and long snout?

Vinny's dialogue really shows how much Don Novello brought to the performance. Without his adlibbing and weird energy the character just doesn't hit the same.

I am BEGGING you to watch Strange World. It’s a really great movie - funny, gorgeous, creative, fantastical, engaging characters. Its low reviews are literally just because the main character is gay. That’s not an exaggeration, I spent 20 minutes scrolling through the audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and literally every single negative review is a variation on “not appropriate for the cHiLdREn”.

If you haven’t heard of it - because Disney didn’t market it - it’s a takeoff of old adventure novels and comics, classic Jules Verne type stuff. Lots of fun imaginative steampunk tech, lots of cool creature design. It’s basically Journey to the Center of the Earth but with cuteness and funniness and interesting familial relationships and also the main character is a hardcore board game nerd. Also the end will make you tear up. If you liked Treasure Planet or Atlantis: the Lost Empire, it’s very much like those.

Cannot recommend it highly enough, please watch it.
