for zero dollars i am going to talk about the boys’ individual singing talents now because im stuck on their performances at prom night ok here we go

to start, let me clarify by saying that i myself am a singer. i come from a family (multiple generations) of singers and musicians. my mom taught voice, violin, piano, and guitar in my home growing up. it’s just ingrained in my dna, ok, but this aint about me. just know that I know what im talking about as i get into this

im really only gonna touch on the four main singers (fourth, gem, ford, and satang) but all of them have their own unique qualities and im super impressed by their live performances. singing live is HARD. singing while dancing??? HARDER. and they held up for four hours, two nights in a row. i don’t. i cant - WOW ok

so of the main four, satang, ford, and fourth lean tenor, and gemini has a bass voice (more later). let me start with satang.

THIS BOY SINGS. RIGHT. IN. HIS CRACKING RANGE. HALF THE TIME. listen, okay, there is a difference between singing in full voice and switching to falsetto sometimes than singing in your cracking range. satang has to switch between full voice and falsetto almost every other note. that is HARD. it takes serious work and practice, and slip-ups are near impossible to avoid. he also has a soft voice, and in his case, when in this cracking range he does his best when he sings low and quiet, and is more likely to crack or slide the louder he gets (fourth is exactly the opposite of this and it makes me nuts in a good way. more later). satang also has very good vibrato, and the way he uses it helps him keep control of his voice and can even disguise the cracks and slides he does have. all this being said, you have to seriously appreciate the work he has done to sing so well at the concert. please watch his part in “healing” and go insane with me. when satang is in his full voice range he does his best singing loud, but this is what i wanted to focus on bc i am so proud of him because of how tough it is.

ford also has a soft voice, but his control comes when he sings loudly. lower pitches are more difficult for him because he has to sing softer in order to hit them, and sometimes, when singing live, that means he can get too quiet to hear. but when he’s in his range and singing full voice? ohhhh my god he kills it. he rarely misses a note. just watch his performance of “come closer”, that’s all you need to know. his vibrato isn’t as good as satang’s but he has a good ear and that makes him so fucking good at harmonizing!! ford also has a very strong and clear tone when singing in falsetto (this line in “stand” showcases it perfectly) - whereas gemini’s falsetto is softer (but just as strong).

GEMINI. first of all, this guy has so much control over his voice it actually pisses me off. i hate him (i LOVE him and im DELIGHTED by the way this live show was able to give his voice the spotlight it deserves). okay so earlier i said gemini has a bass voice, and that’s true - while talking. he has a stellar tenor singing voice, and his voice is very soft, but very clear and strong on those lower notes (thank you “you’re blushing”). and because he has that low range, his falsetto actually becomes better, bc it means when he sings high notes, he is far far away from his cracking range. it's barely noticeable when he switches between full voice and falsetto. his vibrato aint the best live when it’s unpracticed, but he rarely slides (unless it’s on purpose). he can blend with anyone, he’s very good at harmonizing, and damn he just has a sweet sweet falsetto (featured here and in. basically every song he sings. note that gem sings "hook" mostly in falsetto and fourth does it in his full voice, alongside each other; linked below)

FOURTH. let me start by saying i am the most impressed by his live performance. i am now obsessed with his voice in a lot more ways than i was before. so i mentioned earlier that he’s the opposite of satang, in the sense that he is more likely to crack, slide, or miss hitting a pitch when he’s singing quietly. but he’s also the opposite to all three of them, because where satang, ford, and gemini all have soft voices, fourth’s voice has a very clear tone right off the bat. this makes his approach to singing vastly different from the others. his falsetto is good, but when fourth sings loud? HE DOES NOT MISS A SINGLE NOTE. this boy can BELT it out in his full voice, and that includes both high and low notes. oh my god it is insane. LISTEN. TO. THESE. RIGHT. NOW. OK? please drink some water boy ilysm.

the fact that fourth spent those four hours, two nights in a row, singing in mainly his full voice, and absolutely kill. ing. it. the whole time is THE most impressive thing to me. do you know how much energy it takes to sing in your full voice for a long time? can you imagine how much MORE energy it must take to do that WHILE DANCING? do you know how much control over his breaths he has to have for that??!?!?! AND TO STILL SOUND THAT STRONG AT THE END OF THE SECOND NIGHT. i dont care. he’s everything to me.

honestly they all are. this is getting long so im gonna wrap it up but i have never enjoyed a live performance more in my life. these boys are so talented it's insane and gmmtv is lucky to have them.

Character Spotlight: Lwaxana Troi

Lwaxana haters, see yourselves out (or stick around and see how wrong you are!), because A Star to Steer Her By loves our black-eyed Betazoid mama. She’s the daughter of the Fifth House, holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx, heir to the Holy Rings of Betazed, and also one of our favorite characters from The Next Generation!

Like Katharine Pulaski (whom we also stan with the best of them!), Lwaxana Troi is a character who gets way more hate than she deserves, who grew substantially every time she appeared on the show, and who has way more nuance than even some of the main characters we’ve discussed from the show so far! And that fashion sense? Holy cow. So pack your absurdly huge luggage, don your fluffiest wig, and meet up with us and Mr. Homn as we celebrate (and occasionally criticize) all things Lwaxana below and this week on the podcast (sashay over to 55:22 for the convo). We’re going on a manhunt!

Best moments

Murderers! Assassins! While her first couple of appearances in TNG were fairly annoying, as you’ll see in our next section, the one thing Lwaxana gets emphatically right in “Manhunt” is figuring out the two Antedians the Enterprise was carrying are actually assassins. And she drops this information in the most nonchalant way possible, cementing her status as a major boss.

Release them and I will stay with you willingly Oh boy is “Ménage à Troi,” a tough episode to gauge. While it certainly has its lows (Lwaxana constantly crashing Deanna’s day, Ferengi shenanigans at their worst, and some sexual assault and implied rape swept under the rug), Mrs. Troi does put her daughter first and insists to Daimon Tog that Deanna and Will be released if she sacrifices herself like any mother would.

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? The other great scene that Lwaxana inspires in “Ménage à Troi,” is one we mentioned in our Picard Spotlight post, when she and JL work together to trick the Ferengi into releasing her. Even from across viewscreens, she compels the beautiful diatribe of Shakespearean poetry from Jean-Luc that ends up saving the summer’s day!

What does that little one do, Mister Woof? I don’t know why, but it always tickles me the couple of times on the show that Lwaxana calls our Klingon security head “Mr. Woof” as she does in “Half a Life” and others. Is she doing it just to evoke a reaction from him? Does she actually know his name at all? Regardless of the answer, it’s a cute joke that the writers play.

It is the custom for your loved ones to join you at this Resolution, is it not? Our fuller opinion of the character really started getting formed once the show reached “Half a Life” – one of our TNG faves – and we got a different look at this man-hungry helicopter parent. Suddenly, Lwaxana has nuance. She fights for people other than herself or her immediate family. She becomes vulnerable with Timicin, something we didn’t think possible from her character. And when she decides to go with him to his Resolution, it feels personal, complex, and complete.

A child who is trusted becomes worthy of that trust We gave Deanna some rightful criticism for thinking that writing up a contract between Worf and Alexander would be a good idea in “Cost of Living,” and Lwaxana waltzes in like a fairy godmother and throws that terrible idea in their faces! Immediately, she knows how to better parent Alexander than anyone else on the show ever had, low bar that that is.

You’re telling me you’re not going to be naked at your own wedding? It feels like such a triumph for Lwaxana to so brazenly show up naked to her wedding in “Cost of Living,” fully embracing her Betazoid heritage and throwing her strong will and individuality in Campio’s and his little toady’s faces. Now why she was engaged to that uptight twat in the first place is another story, but good for her anyway!

Whatever it is, we can face it together Here’s an actually good moment she shares with her daughter: That tear-jerking moment in “Dark Page.” It’s another instance in which we see Lwaxana as having more personality traits than we were led to believe she had as she comes to acknowledge the death of her daughter Kestra, and also we see Majel Barrett nailing some acting we’d never seen from her before.

Nobody’s ever seen me like this By the time we reach Deep Space Nine, the writers have figured out what to do with Lwaxana Troi to make her an impactful character. Sure, she’s still a great comic device, especially against rigid characters like Picard and Odo, but it’s in the way that she is humanized (or Betazoidized?) in scenes like the truly remarkable turbolift scene in “The Forsaken” that she really shines.

Then sway with me, Odo. Sway with me. While Lwaxana’s constant pestering of Picard gets tiring really quickly, her relationship with Odo proves something more interesting. In one of those Odd Couple kind of pairings, she’s able to get Odo to come out of his shell, even if it’s just a little bit, so when she gets him to dance with her in “Fascination,” it’s delightful and shows more layers to their respective characters.

Before I met her, my world was a much smaller place Okay, so the weird inspiration vampire side of the plot of “The Muse” may be idiotic, but the Lwaxana-Odo scenes are pure gold. Lwaxana and Odo, again, find each other to be the only people they can be vulnerable with, and Odo agrees to marry a very pregnant Lwaxana to get her out of an existing marriage, delivering the purest, most intimate and beautiful speech we’ve heard from him (until Kira, at least).

Strut your stuff on the catwalk Finally, we just have to give massive points to her remarkable fashion sense. One of our favorites is this blue number from “Fascination,” with the perfect wig to complement it and accessories like whoa. Make sure you check out our full screenshot assemblage that we put together previously to give fair credit to the excellent costuming of this iconic woman.

Worst moments

Momzillas gone wild Mrs. Troi is not without her faults, however, and most are man-related. How much pressure she puts on her daughter to get married is more than uncomfortable, it can get downright offensive. When the arranged marriage she initiated between Deanna and Wyatt comes due in “Haven,” it’s clear that this momzilla doesn’t always have her daughter’s best interests in mind; just her own.

Use your mind, not your mouth We also found it just plain rude how much Lwaxana insisted on communicating with Deanna telepathically in “Haven” and other episodes. a) Deanna has made it clear she’d rather speak out loud, and b) Picard and other crewmembers can’t hear what’s being said and that’s impolite, especially coming from someone of such standing in the Federation.

Oh, Jean-Luc, what naughty thoughts It becomes a running gag for the first couple appearances of Lwaxana how much she makes sexual advances on Captain Picard, who is just trying to do his job most of the time. But “Manhunt” really takes the cake for just going overboard with presumptuous behavior unbecoming for a woman of her stature. Leave the poor guy alone!

Until death us do part Later in “Manhunt,” it’s even grosser for Mrs. Troi to declare that she and Riker are to be wed. Whatever physiological state she was in is no excuse for how she goes out of her way to mortify her daughter, to put the moves on Deanna’s imzadi without consent, and to make scene after scene all for romantic attention. Why Gene Roddenberry would make his wife act like this is beyond us.

No man has ever been such a mystery to me Lucky for the flesh-and-blood men that Lwaxana spends most of “Manhunt” sexually accosting, apparently she has no idea what a hologram is. I don’t know how, but she’s so horny that when she meets Rex the bartender, she’s so intrigued by her inability to read his mind that she doesn’t even realize it’s because he’s not a real person. We can just imagine how far it went before it dawned on her.

Oo-mox is only the beginning It’s only fitting that someone like Lwaxana Troi should be there for the introduction of oo-mox on the show, and one time was already too much. During “Ménage à Troi,” Lwaxana unknowingly performs what’s essentially a sex act on her captor, which is gross enough as it is, but we learn later in an episode of Deep Space Nine that she also slept with Daimon Tog, and I vomit in my mouth.

Swipe right! We learn in “Cost of Living” that Lwaxana has gotten engaged to Campio, whom she effectively met on a dating app and whom she has absolutely no chemistry with. It strikes us as entirely out of character that she’d accept marriage to someone who wouldn’t allow her to be who she intrinsically is just because he’s rich. Thank the Four Deities she found a way out of it!

My name is Mud While we gave Lwaxana credit for spending more time with Alexander and treating him better than Worf ever does, we have to admit that the jacuzzi scene in “Cost of Living” is off-putting. Sure, it’s the future and we know that in Betazoid culture, nudity is entirely normal, but we’re still not sure it’s something Alexander is accustomed to or had any ability to consent to and that’s weird.

The worst thing that can happen to any parent This is a complicated one because it’s so triggering. I’m not sure it would be fair to blame Lwaxana or anyone for the accident that befell Kestra as we learn in “Dark Page,” but it’s very clear that Lwaxana blames herself. This is truly the lowest her character had ever been, and it explains a few things about how she so tightly latches on to Deanna, but it is a bad, bad time for her.

Bad thoughts, they hurt her What’s more accurate to say about the events from “Dark Page” is that Lwaxana had handled her trauma in an ultimately poor way. By blocking those memories as evidently Betazoids do with triggering events, she never was able to mourn or accept the loss of Kestra, instead avoiding the memories entirely in a way that turned out to be harmful to her and not fair to her late daughter’s memory.

Does no one understand quarantine procedures? I’ll nitpick about it every time some disease breaks out in an episode and no one seems to understand you shouldn’t go around touching everyone around them. So when Lwaxana has Zanthi Fever in “Fascination” and suddenly her horniness becomes contagious, I’m doubly pissed off because it resulted in a really, really stupid premise for an episode.

What I’d mistaken for love was nothing more than a prison After we mentioned just now when Lwaxana leapt at the chance to marry Campio in “Cost of Living,” we see she’s made the same mistake with Jeyal in “The Muse,” except now there’s a baby involved. The most irritating facet of Lwaxana’s personality is how man-hungry she always seems to be. It always clouds her perception, making her make bad decision after bad decision, and worse: making her compromise who she is.

Prologue

So, this is how it ends. You thought to yourself, leaning back in your lush, brightly decorated chair. You brushed the tickling sensation of the tablecloth off your knee and inner thigh, pushing it back under the table before fixing your dress. Silverware and glasses shook, vibrating a low harmony with one another as they steadied themselves.

The sound of a microphone screeched into the room, temporarily cutting through the layer of idle chitchat that had befallen the beautifully decorated banquet hall. Someone up at the front of the room was speaking, but you could barely hear it. Not because it was too loud, but because your mind tried so desperately to drown out the voice. I can’t handle it. I don’t want to hear it…Your head rested in your hand, elbow acting as a stand on the table to keep you from slamming it down. Maybe that would be a good excuse to go home. No, I can’t leave. You thought. I need to sit here. I deserve to see this. I didn’t do enough….I wasn’t enough….I wasn’t enough….

Suddenly, you felt a gentle hold on your shoulder, a squeeze from a firm, yet gentle hand. A feeling of calmness attempted to override the current disdain that was coursing your veins. You looked over, eyes watering as you stared at a blurry figure beside you. You couldn’t make out who it was, but you knew you felt okay. You felt ok.

Claps and cheer erupted in the room, and you turned your head, wiping your eyes frantically. Your hands banged together like a drum you weren’t controlling, chewing your inner lip as two figures walked out before the cheering crowd. Under one large spotlight, stood a beautifully statuesque individual, his dark black hair combed back and styled to go well with his freshly pressed suit. You saw him smile just a bit, but you could tell how white his teeth were as his lips curled. The left side lifted ever so slightly higher than the right as he looked around. On his arm stood another figure, just as beautiful as he in her stunning white gown and veil covering her face. It was as if the duo were plucked straight out of a wedding magazine and set right in front of your eyes.

I could never be enough. You felt that thought to pierce your brain and shoot right into your heart, and you had to contain a sob, hopping the harder you clapped, the less obvious it would seem to those sitting around you. Another hand pressed against your back, but this time you couldn’t muster the strength to look away. You simply closed your eyes, taking a deep breath as the clapping around you slowly began to stop. When you turned your head, you looked behind you to see two men. You couldn’t make out their faces, most likely because you continued to feel tears well up once again, and it was dark anywhere other than the stage, but their silhouettes told you they were close to one another, and the faint noise coming from their direction. Were they…whispering? You could make out what they were saying and only closed your eyes once more. You wanted to drown out the entire night; go back to when it was simpler. Before you got yourself involved with nonsense that you knew would never work out.

The sound of your name being called felt faint at first, so you chose to ignore it. However, as you heard it get louder and louder, you couldn’t ignore it anymore. Especially when a familiar deep voice began calling it. You felt your head spinning, and you had to open your eyes, hoping your wish would be a reality.

Fraud | Part 9 | Yandere All Might x Hero!Reader

(A/N: This chapter is going to be a flashback so just keep that in mind. And we finally get more of the story when it comes to why All Might is the way he is! Hope you enjoy and comment to be added to the taglist!)

She had started it all. Back when All Might's career had really began to ramp up she had been the one to stop him at every turn.

A pro who was everything he wasn't, he was gifted with divine power and yet this woman still somehow managed to get the upper hand on him each and every time.

It made him sick.

The hero scene was still fairly new, and All Might had taken the world be swarm with his accomplishments after his debut, rising to the top of the charts with ease.

He should have been the Number One Hero ages ago, the world owed it to him to be placed at the top. He deserved it. And yet this woman was pushing faster up the charts than he was.

All Might would not take this lying down.

It started out as simple friendship, joining up to fight crime together was always a norm among the pros. And their quirks were somewhat similar so they often paired well together.

She never could see the darkness behind that smile either.

Eventually it turned to more romantic, All Might could be quite the charmer and had her swooning over him in weeks. It was never hard to get a woman to submit to his advances. He was far superior to everyone so who wouldn't want to get a piece of him.

Regular visits became a relationship, All Might quickly making it public to further his career as support and interest in his brand grew to astonishing heights. He was on top of the world and nothing could ever stop him.

Or so he thought.

Admittedly he became distance, arrogant, only using her for a quick fuck to keep his stress levels at bay. She was becoming boring, and he longed for something else. Her brand was still larger than his and showed no signs of stopping, All Might became known as the partner and nothing more. He was no longer an individual.

She had to go.

His accidental distance became intentional, pushing her away but in a way where she felt it was her fault and it couldn't be blamed on him. He wanted to ruin her reputation and make sure that he gained the sympathetic spotlight.

He brought her to more parties, introduced her to more pros, hoping one of them would take the break and he could hit two birds with one stone.

When he walked in on her bent over and fucked out of her mind by another man he feigned his upset and horror. In reality he couldn't have been more pleased.

The media smeared her reputation, throwing it into the mud and dragging it. The other hero was also disgraced, their popularity tanking while his soared. All pitied the poor man who was hurt by two callous and cruel people.

Often she showed up at his apartment and sucked his dick to be taken back, but he saw through her tactics. She wanted to use him like he used her, to be brought into the spotlight once again and have her life back.

"I don't know, I'll think about it-" Was all he said.

Toshinori's refusal made her desperate, her entirely livelihood slipping and debts going up. She broke into his apartment and waited for him naked, hoping that as he pounded into her he'd take her back and this whole mess would be over.

He never did.

Soon she stopped showing up. And faded into the obsolete. No one remembered her, no one cared who she was. They only cared about the new Number One. A man the world was truly blessed to have.

Even All Might momentarily forgot about her, only remembering when she tried to come out with all the evidence of how All Might was a terrible significant other.

The bitch. After the break he gave her? She deserved what she got.

Toshinori asked to talk it out. She accepted. They met up at his apartment. They had intercourse. She left. She disappeared.

That was all the police had on the situation, cameras showed her leaving and the testimony of the Number One Hero carried immense weight. She was a nobody, so why waste time and resources when more than likely she ended it all after he rejected her.

The case was closed as a suicide, a fitting end for a cheater the media had said. And with the conflicted grief of the Symbol of Peace, explaining how he couldn't decide between relief and grief that his first love was gone, the world sympathized once again.

Reality was that All Might kept her for a while, locked away and used at his leisure, but one night he had pushed it too far and strangled her on accident.

The body was disposed of and he continued on. But he never forgot that feeling of power and control, the pleasure and joy of cutting down and humiliating his rivals. It was like he was a changed man, why couldn't he do this with other rivals? He would be unstoppable.

He was unstoppable.

Humanities Strongest Soldier:

Levi's title of humanities strongest soldier is not just a title for him, IT'S A HUGE RESPONSIBILITY. Yeah "with great power, comes great responsibility" kinda mindset.

Levi's first reaction to being titled humanities strongest wouldn't be of joy or pride. Because he doesn't like competition or being the center of attention and praises. His reaction wouldn't be joy or pride, He is far from being arrogant about it, that is too swallow for his great character. It's also his selflessness doesn't allow him to be the only one being showered with appreciation. He would like all his comrades to be appreciated equally . And this title puts him in spotlight. Levi doesn't do what he does for praises, he is a natural and genuine hero.

Remember when Erwin was thanking Levi for luring the female titan in and he asked him to thank the fallen comrades instead. Because Levi always cared and thought about his comrades and thier sacrifices, humanity. He would think the title's too big for him. But there is no other character that deserves it more than him. Levi could be very self-deprecating at times.

But he would also treat this title as something very gravely important. And the title is indeed very important and meaningful to him than you realize. Levi, as I said, would treat it like a great responsibility.

Levi knows people, his fallen comrades, his friends, the survey crops and humanity are putting thier trust, hopes, dreams and future into his capable hands.

He knows that it is not easy relying on an individual you don't even know, and the acknowledgement of the fact that so much of humanity is looking up to him, already makes this title so much more of a duty to him.

This title puts a great burden on him than you can imagine, BUT, FOR HIM, it's not a burden. He would never treat it as a burden. For him, it is an honor to be such an trusted individual. An honor he was bestowed with by everyone with dream of better future. How could it be a burden for him?

This title means, to carry on the torch to the future, to guide and brighten the path to the united goal of humanity. To carry on hopes of everyone, he cannot bear to let them down.

He has successfully carried the touch to the future along with everyone that still harbors the flames of true motive of survey crop and heroes of THAT day and devoted his heart to the save humanity.

His final salute to ALL his comrades means so much, words can't describe it.

LEVI ACKERMAN is the Bearer of light, the light at the end of the tunnel, the flame that cannot be extinguished, His very appearance and existence is miracle in itself, The phenomenal being. THE WINGS OF FREEDOM.

By all means, Levi was the greatest character in aot, The most selfless human and an genuine hero.

Finally, he can rest. The title of humanities strongest soldier will always be his, because it's not just a title, not just a badge of appreciation but a lot more.

The title will be alive with him, even after the end.

He deserves outmost respect, admiration, love and appreciation.

THE POTENTIAL IS ABOUT TO BE TAPPED

In the early 1990s I just didn’t buy it. This man didn’t belong in anyone’s shadow. Especially a champion who had by far seen his better days. In my opinion, I will always view WrestleMania VIII as a disappointment. It should have been Sid's day… Sid’s year… and Sid’s era. Instead, a voodoo man, a Warrior, and immaturity crashed and ruined his party, thus forcing him almost into obscurity.

In 1992, at WrestleMania VIII, Sid Eudy should’ve, would’ve and could’ve beat Hulk Hogan. He was bigger, stronger, faster and smarter than the then champion. Unfortunately, in his own words, he was not ready for the “big time”. A hometown boy from Arkansas, Sid was not quite prepared for the lights, cameras and action of the World Wrestling Federation. As a matter of fact, before a deserved rematch could have even be issued, Sid had already packed his bags and headed back to “Razorback Country”.

After some extensive soul searching, a more grown-up, seasoned Sid made his comeback to the World Wrestling Federation three years later in 1995. Little did he know that the hurdle that would stand in his way this time was not himself, but rather something that would be far beyond his control. His “greenery” was small potatoes when compared to the professional jealousy that Sid would have to overcome in order to get to the place he wanted to be… the top. Kids, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again–WRESTLING = SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT = BIG BUSINESS = POLITICS and with politics comes jockeying for position. Yes, there are many Willie Shoemakers at TitanSports, both outside…and INSIDE the ring. When Sid made his long awaited return, those who ruled the ring at the time may have been intimidated by him… in more ways than one. He was the new kid on the block, not to mention the new “BIGGER” kid. Fans immediately began cheering him because he was “cool,” and that became threatening to many of his peers. I was at Monday Night Raw in Macon, Georgia, on February 20, 1995, when Sid debuted as the new bodyguard of Shawn Michaels. To say the place became an asylum would be an understatement! When Sid made his way down that aisle, the patients went beyond CRAZY! They ripped off their strait-jackets and got ready to rock!

Folks, to certain individuals–THIS WAS NOT GOOD.

“Warning, warning, Will Robionson. An intruder is looking to steal our spotlight!” That’s right, IN MY OPINION, a certain number of Sid’s peers may have been shaking in their boots. If Eudy were, by chance, to become more popular than them, it would be devastating… devastating to their egos, of course, NOT to the business as a whole! So, in more ways than one, they saw to it that Sid was buried. And, buried he was. Left out to rot… fossilize… chum for the maggots.

For the next six months, Sid would lie low. IN MY OPINION, he had become a victim of “circumstance”. For understandable reasons, he may have become sour with the business. The politics seemed to have pushed him into the “could have been” category. He even went so far as to announce his retirement from the squared circle. If this truly was the case, then it would be nothing short of a tragedy. A wasteful loss not only to the World Wrestling Federation, but to the business as a whole.

But wait, at the end of the tunnel you could hear the firing of a match. Yes, there was light.

The balance of power shifted among the ranks of the World Wrestling Federation, largely due to the almighty buck. Those who may have buried Sid earlier were not being buried themselves in a gushing flood of undeserving greenbacks. Remember, those who tore Sid down behind his back said it was for the “good of the company”. Well, my question is, “Where was the ‘good of the company’ when you were negotiating behind the boss’ back?!”

You know what, scratch that. I’m not going to get up on my soapbox because that is not what this commentary is about. This commentary is about SID. And, for the reasons I am about to mention, I strongly believe that Sid’s time has arrived!!!

Along with Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels is probably the most “confident” individual I have ever known. He doesn’t worry about the “threat” of others overthrowing his Kliq because as the World Wrestling Federation Champion he realizes what he brings to the dance. He doesn’t have to tear down others to build himself up, because he already is the tallest skyscraper in the city! He has no shortcomings. Nothing to hide or protect. He has the belief in himself that no man is going to knock him off his perch. It’s the security of himself. Shawn Michaels knows that Sid is good for the “business”. He’s a monster with a personality and people will pay money to see him! Sid will help everybody–including Shawn Michaels–in the long run.

With Shawn Michaels on top, there is no question in my mind that Sid’s time is NOW! Politics can take a beat seat and let him do the driving! The potential has only thus far been tapped… but now it will EXPLODE!!!

Yes, Sid Eudy just may soon… “RULE THE WORLD”!

Billy Mine - Act 2.1

Leaving Ray of Hope Children's Home felt so…final. It's what I wanted, but I had a hard time adjusting to family life all the same. I mised Billy Mine. He was like a drug in my veins and I was going through withdrawals.

My new parents, Patrick & Christina Ellis were wonderful. They were so patient and kind and loving. They are so much more than I deserved. Before I started high school, my father decided to throw his hat into the political ring. He went from local New York politics to becoming a US Senator. It made life more hectic. We were more in the spotlight. Of course being in the spotlight brings out a lot of lunatics as well. My father gets regular death threats that the Secret Service are aware of. Others are just threats from unhinged individuals.

A few days ago, I was attacked on my way home from work. Police think it was a potential kidnapping to use against my father. Luckily I was able to fend them off, but not without injury. I have stiches on my forehead, a black eye, a busted lip, bruised ribs & they dislocated my shoulder. Years of Muay Thai actually paid off. I don't think they were expecting me to fight back. I wasn't so helpless that they could have just plucked me off the street. I was causing too much of a scene and I'm sure some of them are in worst condition than I am. Bystanders came to my aide, and they took off. Mom & Dad were in NY not DC at the time, so when they found out, I got brought straight back to their place. Not that I complained too much, I felt like crap.

"Baby, do you mind coming outside? There's someone I need you to meet. It'll only take a minute." Dad wraps an arm around me to help me out of my chair.

I couldn't hold back a groan. "I'm really not in the mood to see people," as he leads me out onto the terrace.

"I know, Jules. I swear, it'll just be a minute. I hired security for you and I want you to meet him."

"Daaaddd," I hiss and stop in my tracks but he keeps ushering me forward.

A man stands with his back to me looking out over the Manhattan skyline. Tall, broad shoulders, dark hair, bespoke suit…my skin breaks out in goose bumps.

Hearing our arrival, he turns around & greets my father, "Senator Ellis."

"Thank you so much for meeting here instead of the office." They shake hands. "My daughter, Jules."

He turns his attention to me & I'm lost in his obsidian gaze. There's only one other person who has eyes like that. I can hardly catch my breath. I feel faint and clutch my dad's arm tighter. "Billy Mine" I whisper. Billy's eyes widen with recognition before the darkness takes me.

"Sweetheart? Jules."

"Dad?" I open my eyes to find I'm still on the terrace, but on the chaise lounge not on the floor. Shit. Billy.

"You need me to take you back to the hospital? How do you feel?" Dad asked crouched down beside the chair.

"No. No. Don't do that. I'm ok." I look around. I couldn't have been hallucinating. Billy steps nearer. "Billy Russo."

Billy hands me a glass of water, "Here. Drink this."

"You two know each other?" I hear a protective tone in my dad's voice. Billy's eyes dart to mine.

"A..a long time ago. Ray of Hope. W...we were there."

Billy looked to be more in shock than I was. "Juliet."

"Bill owns the security company I've hired to watch over you, until the police or secret service find those men," reassuringly pats my leg. "Nothing like that will ever happen again."

Bill clears his throat, "We'd like to sit down and discuss your daily routine and schedule but we can arrange that for a better time," nodding at me & handing me his business card. I take it, careful not to touch him. "Please call my assistant to schedule something when you feel up to it."

He scans my face & injuries. His eyes are hard like the day he saw my bruises from Carla. Scary mad. "Of course. Thank you."

"Excellent. Thank you again for coming out here. I greatly appreciate it. Jules will set an appointment soon. She's still recovering."

"You're welcome, Senator. Completely understandable."

"Let me see you out."

"No, I can see myself out. Stay with your daughter." Turning to me, "It was good to see you again, Juliet, despite these circumstances."

I can only nod, my throat tightens with the sobs and cries I try to hold back. I haven't thought about him in over a decade but to watch him leave, I wanted to run after him. Have him take me with him.

"Jules?? What's wrong?" Dad brushes away tears that I didnt even know had fallen. "Are you in pain? I can get a doctor out here."

"No. I'm sorry." I start crying and my dad hugs me, "It suddenly feels overwhelming. But I'm ok. I promise." I lie to him. "Maybe if I just lay down for a minute." I kiss his cheek and squeeze his hand as he helps me return to my room.

I take some pain meds yet still sleep restlessly, tormented by dreams of Billy Mine.

The validity of jock/quarterback Stan has served as a heated argument in the South Park fandom for over a decade. Years later, despite the popularity of such a portrayal diminishing, the discussion continues, often begging the question; Why doesn’t Kyle receive similar treatment? Is it because he’s legitimately less ‘jocky’? Or is it something else?

To answer this question, we need to turn back to canon. In this meta, I’ll be doing just that. There are a few subquestions we need to answer, all of which I’ll be going over individually;

Is Kyle equally as athletic as Stan?

Is Kyle equally as interested in sports as Stan?

Does Kyle have interests that are more formative than his interest in sports?

Let’s dive right into it!

Okay, I lied. We’re not diving right into it.

Firstly, a disclaimer; this meta piece is not an attack on jock Kyle, nor on a less jocky portrayal of Stan. Rather, it serves as a defense for jock Stan and nerd Kyle, as well as the fan-creators (both current and past) who choose to portray the characters in such a way. Everyone is entitled to their own headcanons and portrayals, regardless of canon basis; as such, I intend not to discourage alternative portrayals, but to instead facilitate understanding of why Jock Stan and Nerd Kyle were such formative interpretations, and how those portrayals do have extremely solid reasoning within canon.

And secondly, for clarification; I use the terms ‘jock’ Stan/Kyle and ‘nerd’ Kyle throughout this essay due to those terms being commonly used throughout the fandom.

For the definition of ‘jock’, I’ll be using Oxford Language’s second definition; “an enthusiastic athlete or sports fan, especially one with few other interests.” This definition is where I draw the questions I posed above from.

For the definition of ‘nerd’, I’ll be using Merriam-Webster’s first definition; “a person devoted to intellectual, academic, or technical pursuits or interests.”

In the way I’ll be using them, neither term is intended to be offensive; rather, as apt descriptions of the interests and talents Stan and Kyle have.

Okay, now we can get started!

Athleticism

The obvious first place to look for evidence of each character’s athleticism is in the episodes in which they actually play sports (most specifically football for Stan and basketball for Kyle), so let’s start there!

We’ll begin with Big Gay Al’s Big Gay Boat Ride, a Stan-centric football-centric episode, and one commonly cited as evidence for jock Stan. For our purposes, the relevant parts of the episode lie in the homecoming football game between South Park and Middle Park; a football game in which Stan plays as the quarterback. According to quite a few people in town, Stan is not only good, but the best quarterback South Park has ever seen.

The fact that this episode takes place in Season 1 is notable; it shows that Stan’s skill at football was both an intended part of his character from extremely early in his development, AND that it was formative enough to be the focus of the first Stan-centric episode in the series. Stan appears in three episodes before this one, as well as Jesus vs Frosty and Jesus vs Santa, but Big Gay Al’s Big Gay Boat Ride is the first episode that Stan gets the spotlight; and in the process, it serves as an episode that introduces key character traits that follow him throughout the series. The Stan traits that Matt and Trey wanted viewers to take away from this episode were that he’s open-minded, loves his dog, values masculinity (or ‘butchness’, as he describes it), and is REALLY good at football. This character trait is present throughout the entirety of the series, which I’ll elaborate on further later on.

However, Kyle also plays a role in this episode; when Stan doesn’t show up in time, Kyle’s elected quarterback in his place. Stan also tosses the football to Kyle near the end of the game, and Kyle scores a touchdown; this implies that while Kyle’s skills aren’t deserving of the recognition Stan gets, he’s not half bad at football. So, what about basketball?

The jock Kyle equivalent of Big Gay Al’s Big Gay Boat Ride is Season 9′s Mr. Garrison’s Fancy New Vagina, in which the relevant parts include Kyle trying out for the all-state basketball team and going to great lengths to achieve his goal. The details of how he goes about this aren’t particularly relevant, other than to note that if he was willing to undergo surgery, he must have been committed. During this episode, we find out a few relevant things about Kyle’s interest in basketball; that he’s the best player in his school, that he loves basketball, and that he wants to play for the Denver Nuggets one day.

Notably, while he’s the best basketball player at South Park Elementary, he isn’t good enough to make all-states. I won’t be delving deep into why he didn’t make the team (due to him not making it being the setup for an episode that’s in extremely bad taste, in multiple ways), but it’s worth considering as it’s the only real situation we have in which Kyle is pitted against people outside of South Park. Another point of note is that while Kyle is talented at basketball, he’s never shown on the South Park Cows basketball team; this contrasts Stan’s prominent role on the football team, as well as Kyle’s own participation there.

However, Stan and Kyle’s participation in football and basketball respectively aren’t the only evidence we have in-show of their athleticism; the two of them both participate on several different sports teams, as well as engage in other activities indicative of how athletic they actually are.

For the purposes of this argument, many of the sports the two of them participate in can be disregarded; if both characters are on the wrestling team in equal positions, it can’t be used as a point towards either of them. However, there is one relevant sport in which both of them participate, but take on notably different roles; baseball.

Baseball has many different positions, and they vary quite significantly in difficulty; commonly assumed to be the most difficult are the pitcher and the catcher. Stan serves as pitcher on the South Park baseball team; this implies that Stan, despite having no enjoyment for baseball as a sport, is good enough to be chosen for what is arguably the most difficult position on the team. Kyle’s positioning (behind and to the right) of Stan indicates that he’s the second baseman; it’s a fairly demanding position, but doesn’t come anywhere close to the difficulty of pitcher. This alone doesn’t indicate that Stan is athletic in a general sense rather than exclusively in sports, but other things do.

Consider the episode Asspen, in which Stan is challenged to a ski race from a far more experienced skier. He’s tasked with racing him down the fictional mountain K-13, which is described as being extremely dangerous; a character in the episode informs Stan that 35 people have died going down it. It is also important to note that skiing is a very physically demanding sport; Stan’s successful training throughout the episode already implies significant athleticism. During the ski race itself, he’s not notably fast, but he successfully avoids the obstacles and completes the race; a feat which, as we know from the episode, is not in any way easy. This indicates a pattern; Stan is recognizably good at athletic activities in general. This pattern continues down to the littlest details; in The Wacky Molestation Adventure, Stan effortlessly swings down from a tall pole to meet Mark and Linda, while Kyle walks instead.

Kyle, on the other hand, does not display the same pattern; compared to Stan-centric episodes, in which Stan is often given opportunities to display athletic prowess, Kyle-centric episodes beyond Mr. Garrison’s Fancy New Vagina rarely involve sports at all. This could indicate that while Kyle is equally as athletic, he just isn’t given a chance to show it; however, it’s worth noting how much more of a role sports and athleticism plays in Stan-centric episodes.

So, what can we conclude from all of this?

Both Stan and Kyle are good at their respective sports, but Stan is either objectively more athletic or has simply had more opportunities to demonstrate it. Their differing participation on the baseball team seems to clarify that it’s the former. Therefore, we can answer our first question; no, Kyle does not seem to be as athletic as Stan.

Interests in Sports

Stan and Kyle are both comparatively excellent players on their respective teams, but in order to determine whether Kyle’s athleticism is as formative to his character as Stan’s is, we need to delve deeper. Kyle is good, but how much does he actually care? Does he display consistent interest in sports, and in basketball in particular? How does he stack up against Stan’s interest in sports?

To determine this, let’s start with Stan, so we have a point of reference to go off of for Kyle.

Stan loves football; he has a passion for the Denver Broncos, in particular. His love of football (and even sports, in general) is obvious simply from entering his room; he has two football lamps, a John Elway poster, a Broncos sticker, a South Park Cows banner, and two pieces of baseball merchandise - despite that not even being the sport he’s most interested in.

Stan’s decked out room isn’t just a one-time design choice, either; when Stan moves to Tegridy Farms, he still has a Denver Broncos clock on his wall. His interest in sports hasn’t waned; the Broncos are still important to him, over twenty seasons after his interest in football debuted.

Matt and Trey haven’t forgotten about Stan’s interest in the Broncos recently, either; in the most recent special, The Streaming Wars, Stan has a Broncos backpack.

We have evidence of Stan’s interest in football from Season 1 to the most recent South Park content released, but his interest in football isn’t even limited to then; in Post-Covid, the first topic of conversation Randy brings up is the performance of the Broncos. And Stan’s response implies that he’s still following them, forty years later; even when Stan is down and depressed, barely able to show interest in anything at all, he still cares about the Broncos.

Stan loves the Broncos, obviously, but more specifically, he loves John Elway; it’s clear throughout the show that he idolizes him. Stan’s idea of an important individual is John Elway - in Mecha-Streisand, he doesn’t take Barbara Streisand seriously because she doesn’t know him.

His parents and friends are obviously aware of his fixation on Elway, too; he receives Elway-themed gifts several times throughout the show, once from his parents and once from Gary Harrison.

Stan idealizes John Elway; it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that he wants to be like him, given his skill and passion for football. The first two instances in which Elway is brought up are in Season 1, but All About Mormons takes place in Season 7; Stan’s idolization of him holds strong for several seasons.

He doesn’t seem to have as much of a passion for other specific Broncos players, but he still stays up to date on both their and the team’s performance; in Trapped In The Closet, the scientologists distract Stan by asking him about the Broncos’ record; Stan knows the answer immediately.

In Guitar Queer-o, when given the opportunity to meet a player from the Broncos, Stan is absolutely thrilled, and while Kyle seems excited too, Stan’s the one who follows up. Not only does Stan instantly recognize him, but he also knows his performance off the top of his head. Stan’s mention of his dad’s opinion also implies that he’s had conversations about the Broncos at home before, further supporting the idea of him holding a genuine interest in football.

Stan’s also the first kid to step up and take a leadership role in multiple different sports; when playing football with his friends in Raisins, he lays out the game plan, and when Pip doesn’t know how to play dodgeball in Conjoined Fetus Lady, Stan’s the first kid to step up and explain it to him.

It’s obvious that Stan’s interest in sports (football, in particular) is multifaceted and consistent; he has a preference for a favorite team (and keeps track of their performance), he idolizes a specific player, he decorates his room with various sports-themed decor, he takes an instinctual teaching role in sports-related activities, and he continues to hold a flame for football from age eight to age fifty. Football is the only interest of Stan’s brought up this consistently, over such a wide period of time. Clearly, there is evidence for Stan being an enthusiastic athlete and sports fan, as our definition of ‘jock’ specifies; what about Kyle? Does he have equal enthusiasm for basketball?

Okay, back to Kyle; we started with Stan’s room, so it seems reasonable that we look first to Kyle’s room for evidence of his interest in basketball.

Kyle DOES have something basketball-related on his desk; it’s a little trophy, implying that he won something or other. He also has a basketball in his closet, as well as a golf club; that being said, it’s highly implied that the club is more for his Stick of Truth persona than for actual golf. However, the rest of his room isn’t nearly as swamped with sports-related decor as Stan’s is; in fact, there seems to be another theme in his room that overpowers sports. But we’ll come back to that soon!

So, Kyle’s room indicates less of an interest in sports than Stan’s does, but does his interest in basketball throughout the rest of the series make up for the difference?

The next time in which basketball is mentioned specifically in relation to Kyle is in Cartman Finds Love, a season 16 episode. The seven season gap between these episodes is already notable; it implies that Kyle’s interest in basketball is used as needed. Stan’s interest in football, on the other hand, comes up even when it could be replaced by something else; when comparing these instances, Kyle’s interest seems to be plot relevant, while Stan’s interest is character relevant.

Back to Cartman Finds Love. The reason basketball is relevant in this episode is that it serves as a common interest between Kyle and Nichole; based on Kyle’s response to this realization, Nichole liking basketball is a great thing. This, at the very least, confirms that Kyle is still interested in basketball by season 16.

Cartman Finds Love puts us off to a great start, but after that, it’s much more difficult to look for episodes in which Kyle’s interest in basketball becomes relevant. To my knowledge, there are no more scenes in which basketball is brought up for Kyle in the same way football is brought up for Stan. There are several instances in which all of the boys play basketball, but if they’re all doing it, we can’t really use it as Kyle-exclusive evidence. Similarly, at the end of Post-Covid, all four boys go to a Denver Nuggets game as Heather Williams’ special guests; Kyle doesn’t seem any more excited than the other three. After season 16, Kyle’s interest in basketball seems to drop off.

Once again, let’s sum up our findings; Stan is extremely enthusiastic about football, and that enthusiasm spans multiple aspects of the sport. Kyle, while maintaining his interest in basketball to an extent, doesn’t have nearly as many instances in which he displays that interest. So, let’s refer back to one of our questions; is Kyle equally as interested in sports as Stan? Again; the answer seems to be a no.

Other Interests

So, we’ve gone over Stan and Kyle’s sportiness in canon, and come to some conclusions; Kyle seems to be less athletic than Stan, as well as less interested in sports as a whole. We’ve also come to another conclusion; Stan’s interest in sports is a HUGE part of his character, and it dwarfs the large majority of his other interests. This makes Stan our textbook definition of a jock; he’s an enthusiastic athlete, an enthusiastic sports fan, and sports is his primary interest. Kyle participates in sports, and likes them, but I’d hesitate to call him enthusiastic; that being said, Stan does set an incredibly high standard for an in-show sports fan.

Now, we’re going to switch gears a little bit, and shift from Kyle’s interests in sports to Kyle’s interests in other things. Part of the reason I wrote this is to justify my interest in nerd Kyle; based on canon, is that a valid interpretation of the canon? Is Kyle devoted to intellectual and academic interests?

Let’s go back to that image of Kyle’s room, and back to the theme that I mentioned earlier; the theme in Kyle’s room that outnumbers his basketball trophy is academics! He has a picture of Einstein on his wall; a figure with obvious connotations towards innovation and intelligence. He has a solar system model and a globe on his desk, and we can tell that the solar system model is too small to be the costume he wore; therefore, it seems like it must be a school project. He has a calculator and pens as a permanent fixture on his desk; when viewers look at Kyle’s room, they’re supposed to notice that his room is massively themed towards academics. Almost to the extent that Stan’s room is themed towards sports!

Such a trend continues in Post-Covid, too; when we get a good look at Kyle’s study, the first thing that stands out is the huge amount of books he has. He also has a basketball trophy - the same one that appears to be present in his room as a child, implying both some level of importance and that trophy was the only one that he’s ever won for basketball - as well as his solar system model. Kyle’s interest in basketball is still present here, but barely; in fact, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that, since nothing else related to basketball is present for him during the specials, that Kyle kept his trophy more for the reminder of winning than his love of the sport. Kyle has always been a character that thrives on validation, and such a concept would apply even more in Post-Covid, where it’s implied Kyle hasn’t ‘won’ anything or felt victorious in a very long time. Keeping a trophy just for the sake of it being a trophy would not be out of character. The same can’t be said about his books.

Kyle’s room isn’t the only indication that he leans more towards the academics than the athletics, either; consider the following scenes.

In The Tooth Fairy’s Tats 2000, Kyle gets very into philosophy after finding out the tooth fairy isn’t real; he develops the undoubtedly intellectual desire to learn. He tears through books to try and find out what he’s looking for, which is a characteristic we rarely see in any other character; Kyle refuses to brush off things he doesn’t understand; instead, he seeks further knowledge and understanding. His desire to learn more about philosophy continues beyond this episode, too; in Kyle’s closet, there’s a book titled ‘Space-Time and Quantum Theory’.

Another instance of ‘nerdy’ Kyle behavior is in Follow That Egg, in which he’s one of the students most passionate about the project; he is incredibly insistent on getting an A, while Stan doesn’t seem to care less.

He cares deeply about his academic performance, and more than that, he actually admits to enjoying academics; he likes studying. He even says that it’s part of who he is; his love for academics and intellectual pursuits composes a core part of his identity.

He’s even one of the finalists in the South Park spelling bee, being the only kid from South Park Elementary who makes it to the final three. His academic pursuits drive him; he strives for good grades and recognition of his intelligence, and he goes so far as to genuinely enjoy the process. His passion for academics is matched by few other kids in the school, and he most certainly trumps Stan in both his intellectual interests and performances.

Furthermore, Kyle is one of the more tech-savvy kids; a passion that certainly constitutes technical interests. In The Snuke, Kyle delves deep into searching for the suspected terrorists; he only needs brief guidance to understand how to effectively research, going so far as to cross-reference accounts. In Bass to Mouth, it’s revealed that he knows how to track IP addresses. He’s naturally skilled (and even devoted) towards technical pursuits, meeting yet another qualification for our definition of a nerd.

Even Kyle’s tendency towards speeches paints him as an intellectual; his role, especially in early seasons (including the pilot episode) is to say what he learned that day. He’s constantly on a quest for knowledge, a trait that separates him from the other boys. Similarly to Stan’s love of football and animals, this is the trait that the viewers were supposed to take away from Kyle in one of the first episodes; Kyle was meant to be the smart, self-aware kid out of the group from the very beginning.

This is even supported by the commentary for An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig, in which Matt and Trey have this to say about Kyle’s intelligence: “We decided in this episode that Kyle would kind of be the good student... he would kind of be the guy who got As, and stuff. He's not a dick about it, but he just is smarter than the other guys - school smarter than the other guys."

Okay, let’s recap one more time. The interest that’s most frequently brought up for Stan, even in situations where it’s unnecessary, is football; this implies that rather than being something to move the plot along, football is key to Stan’s character. Basketball (and other sports) do not behave in the same way for Kyle; instead, academics does, with Kyle almost always being the character who engages in intellectual, academic, and technical pursuits out of the main four. His interest in academics is also much more widespread than his interest in basketball.

From all of this information, we can draw our conclusion to our third question; yes, Kyle does have interests that are more formative to his character than basketball and sports, with those interests being academic.

We’re done analyzing canon; now, we need to decide what all of the above actually means. Is Stan a jock? Is Kyle a jock? If Kyle isn’t a jock, what is he?

The first question is the easiest to answer; absolutely. Stan fits every criterion for being a jock, bar none. No matter what term you prefer to use in place of jock - sports fan, athlete, quarterback, etc - Stan meets the qualifications.

Our second question is a little bit harder. Is Kyle an athlete? Yes - but not as talented as Stan is. Is Kyle interested in sports? Sure. But is he enthusiastic? Probably not; he rarely, if ever, displays interest in basketball beyond the two episodes where such an interest serves as a plot point. Does he have few other interests - or, in other words, is basketball his primary interest? Also, probably not. Kyle isn’t the sporty kid of the group - Stan is. Kyle’s primary interest goes beyond sports. Putting all of this together, I would have to say no; Kyle does not qualify as a jock, or at least the definition of a jock that we’re using above.

So, what is he? This question is simpler than the second one - he’s a nerd! His interests are primarily intellectual in nature, and he has a skill and a passion for academics matched by few; while many of the kids in South Park are notoriously bad at school, Kyle meets academic challenges with enthusiasm. In situations where the boys need someone with technical skills, Kyle almost always steps up to the plate; he knows far more about technology and how to use it than the average kid in South Park does. Similarly to Stan and being a jock, Kyle meets every qualification for being a nerd.

Does this mean the two of them will necessarily stay that way? Definitely not. There are thousands of possibilities for how the two of them will turn out; maybe Stan dives deeper into board games and becomes a nerd, or Kyle grows increasingly enthusiastic about basketball and becomes a jock. It could happen, and it’s an entirely valid headcanon. It’s even entirely valid to portray them differently as ten year olds - there’s no rule saying you have to adhere directly to canon!

But even if they do change in the future, or even if they’re portrayed differently, that doesn’t change how they actually appear in the show, and that doesn’t change the fact that when people choose to portray Stan as a jock and Kyle as a nerd, they are drawing directly from canon; they are simply having the characters maintain the interests they had in their youth. And that’s not a bad thing. It’s not an interpretation deserving of the constant criticism that it receives, either; the reason jock Stan and nerd Kyle became so popular (and stayed so popular for quite a while) was because it stays close to their canonical interests. It works directly off of what we see in the show, and in every fandom, canonical interpretations are always most popular.

Let’s go full circle, and answer the question I posed at the beginning one final time (albeit worded differently for clarity):

Why isn’t Kyle portrayed as a jock as often as Stan is?

The answer; because, at this point in the canon, he isn’t one.

7. if you could change the ending of a drama which one would it be?

oof, there's so many! let me choose a drama that I actually loved bc one that I don't is kind of the easy way out lol. I'd change the ending of 3 will be free so ter isn't killed & mae's trauma isn't provoked just so she can rescue the main three characters. I'd have shin kill his father bc it's much more meaningful & powerful this way, and I'd also have him move permanently on the island with mew & neo instead of going back and forth. also mae & ter would leave the country and heal peacefully together :)

what a loaded question! I'll get it out of my system, yes of course I want to see off in a main role in a show that isn't bl, isn't an ensemble cast & is actually good bc all of his non offgun related roles never take off & it's pissing me off lol.

the next obvious choice is mond, but this one I honestly feel even more strongly about bc this man is literally one of the most beautiful men on earth AND talented as fuck & he literally gets nothing but crumbs from gmmtv.

I like both ships, especially firstkhao, but I feel like since getting with their ships they've completely lost their identity as individual actors, and in my opinion it's a generalized problem with the new generation of gmmtv ships, but it especially bothers me for first & earth bc I KNOW how amazing they are & feel they could do both ship work AND slay some individual works.

as for the actresses, we all know they're all so fucking underrated & I stan literally every single one of them, but also bc there's much less of them than male actors, they often get main roles more easily, so I don't have as many to mention.

firstly there is jennie, who is always put in side roles but would actually SLAY a good romcom! also it would be incredible representation to have a romance with a trans woman who's not played by a cis actress (*cough* the fallen leaf I'm looking at you *cough*)

then there's ciize who just deserves the spotlight imo. she's adorable, seasoned & a good actress, and I think she'd make for a very new type of female lead in dramas that I'd really love to see!

lastly there's the love of my life, lookjun. technically she got a main lead in the jungle which gives me hope for the future, but it was an ensemble cast show so it doesn't count. I want her in a full show bc I think she's amazing & has the charisma to carry it!!! (also pls she's literally had 3 wlw side ships now GIVE HER A GL!!!)

Hello there, nonnie! Yes of course, I'm more than glad to share a few blogs that I love seeing on my dash. I must preface, however, that what might work for me might not work for you as I'm aware and it would feel wrong to me to just drop here blogs without offering at least something worth noting so you can have a more solid idea of what I enjoy about them or what I can highlight about them as to not go blindly, so excuse me if the post might be a bit on the longer side! It's also worth mentioning that I will keep it small so I can focus on those I've been mutuals with for a longer time. Now, without further ado here's a modest list:

I feel like it's appropriate to mention the two of them as a pair because, while individually they have their own fortes and specific particularities, it's great to read their novella-style interactions together and see how beautifully they weave solid relationships between their muses. As someone who sees that is more likely to see time skips in different muses' relationships rather than going through it and see their development up to the moment where they currently stand, I have to say that seeing them doing the opposite of that and putting care and patient in the way their muses develop together is a rare yet beautiful gem.

Furthermore, I have to say that @inavagrant makes great lore analyses and reasonable observations and @starsdescent has interesting insights of the characters they write and something I particularly appreciate and love is that common fandom perceptions of them that might not be as sensible are discarded and they have no fear in voicing it out and make it clear.

I've known Jace for years and I can say easily that it shows how much he loves the lore and how seamlessly he makes use of it for Thoma in ways that are adventurous, explorative but also sensible to his character. Let it to him to be the brains of how to introduce Thoma in a plethora of situations or other characters' lives that at first one wouldn't know how to make it happen and you'll receive great results. He's super friendly to talk with and it's great to see firsthand how he works to improve his writing each time.

As with Jace, I have the pleasure to have known G for years also. While he's pretty busy with work and that restricts and limits his time to RP, the love he has for the characters he writes and the passion with which he not only interprets them but also learns about the game's lore and puts it together in his writing is simply mesmerizing. Rather than being someone who writes headcanons often, he lets his writing do the talk in order to see glimpses of the prism from which he sees Diluc and specially Al-Haitham now.

I'd be lying if I said that I don't love Steph to bits. While she isn't too active, the writing she pulls when she does is worth the way. She has a beautiful way of writing poetically and there is no doubt the love she has for the muses she writes, be it writing them or actually doing breathtaking art of them and more. One thing I like about unique takes of the muses she writes is that you can tell them apart from others and she doesn't cater to what part of the fandom in general says, which can be biased for multiple reasons, tastes, etc. Despite this uniqueness, you can recognize the muses she writes as said muses.

Xue deserves her moment of spotlight for multiple reasons. Although we met when I moved to the Genshin fandom, these years with her have been great. She's really easy to talk with, reasonable and she has a special way of making people cherished in the fandom, it's a light of her own hard to find, truly. Although she also has a multimuse with a far lower activity, her love for Aether is astonishing. That feeling when someone makes you love a character from their writing is great to stumble upon and that's exactly what she does with him considering the hardships of writing a character like Aether (and Lumine too), the opinions everyone has about them, what have you. She stands her ground in her portrayal of Aether and be it smaller things that are easy and rapid-fire to respond to or longer and meaningful threads, she can pull both easily.

Charline and I have been mutuals for a significantly shorter time, but I have to say that she's a joy and I'm really happy that we crossed ways. She's really easy to talk with, kind and patient. The love she displays for her characters is obvious with every post and even tags she writes and she has great personal insights about Genshin's lore and her own characters. As I mentioned with a few before, she doesn't fear to vocalize when she isn't into some takes that the fandom in general might have about some of the muses she writes. Something I appreciate deeply is how easy it is to plot with her and exchange huge ass paragraphs back and forth of answers.

There are more blogs that I enjoy deeply being mutuals with that unfortunately I don't know what to say without making it a line short, as most of who I gushed about I have deeper ties with that I hardly have with anyone else with an exception (although that can change in the future, I'm sure), I will be referencing them here for you to peek into their blogs, nonnie:

This will be heavy. I won't be holding back. I'll lay it all out.

Remember my readings are for entertainment purposes only. Take them how you will.

There is a lot of Negativity around Henry right now. It will get worse. Its not an opportune time for him to meet his soulmate. Spirit has put its hand up and slowed everything. Yes, spirit had helped he and his soulmate all these years. But it even has a limit. Right now it is focusing on protecting her.

There is/was a lot of anticipation regarding an event happening soon. Eyes with bad intentions watching. It could have been dangerous for his soulmate and she may have been thrust into the spotlight unintentionally, and subject to the negative press he is getting and will continue to get for awhile. Along with untrue allegations.

I feel like spirit is using an event to its advantage and is holding his soulmate back. They're giving it time. It's not off the table but I feel like it is now setting up other options and opportunities. I feel like this is it. Events are being pushed back.

Spirit also has a message for her. So I am thinking this reading will find its way to her.

You have opportunities of a lifetime approaching. Events culminating for your betterment. Keep your options open. Keep your eyes open. There will be surprises. The one on your rader is shrouded in negativity. It's not a good way to meet, it's not a good start. You dream of something healthy from second zero. Spirit is helping you achieve this wish, so it's holding it back. You need to make a choice. What will be beneficial for you. Don't worry about a soulmate, the universe will always have your back and will bring someone also suited for you. They may not be a soulmate but you can still be happy. Don't feel guilty or bad. Put you first. Just be aware of your options. You're learning of the power of choice. You have a choice. Spirit is reiterating the door hasn't closed, this is still an option but it's just letting you know that if you feel like this isn't the right choice for you, not to worry. Make your choice in confidence. Because you don't want stress. I feel like you're a very grounded individual, and you want positivity and joy in your life. Meeting now, you wouldn't get that. It would be a rough start for you, its why it's being pushed back to give it time. But ultimately it is your choice. Let go of the fear and hesitancy. I'm seeing a storm and you feel like walking to him is walking into this storm. You're not wrong LOL but spirit is giving you some time. It has potential of settling and being peaceful. It has potential of being secretive. You don't have to worry. But he also has to make choices to ensure that. Right now there's so much negativity and chaos.

Spirit is also urging you to keep looking for messages from the universe. You will have answers and you will know what to do. You're learning to listen. Keep down the path you are walking and you will not have to worry. You are loved! It's amazing to me how protected you are. Some may rejoice at this halt, but you have such beauty entering your life. You deserve it. I'm only allowed a peak but I can feel the strength you eminate and the strife you have overcome. Make sure you give yourself the credit you are due. Focus on the memories you will create this year. Spirit is really urging that.

As for now, there are too many distractions in Henry's life to meet his soulmate. Too much negativity and stress. Things have shifted once again. However I feel like we are entering a Tower Moment in his life once again. I told you once before Henry, you invited a disease into your life. Remember that. Hopefully you realize that now. And this has proven that. I feel like you're much more aware than even I realize. You're witnessing the shift and the events spirit is setting in motion to shift things.

It has helped you LOTS. It has laid such ground work for you and your soulmate. But it is coming to a head. Choices need to be made. BIG choices. From both you and her. It won't keep helping forever with this. I feel like you know more about her than even I can imagine. And I know there are protective feelings from you regarding her. So you can't blame spirit from pulling her back for the moment when there are energies and those who have bad intentions. I don't know how, but I have the feeling this upcoming meeting could have ended in possible disaster and stress for her. Due to third parties.

A plan of action needs to be made.

Both need to think long and hard of what they want and how to go ahead. What they want and how it looks. Big choices need to be made and maybe even some sacfrice. Maybe even desperate measures. I don't know. But as it is now...I dont have hope. Being real here.

I know you feel damned if you do and damned if you don't. Being stuck between a rock and hard place. I did warn you this disease had potential of crippling your life. Hopefully you realize that soon. Some things are not fair and some things are out of your hands. But what is? What can you do? What is it you want?

Spirit has granted you some time. Use it wisely. Otherwise what were these years for?

Time will tell what will happen.

Be thankful for the heads up.

You do have potential for rebranding. For a normal life when out of the spot light. I do see you being in the spot light minimally and when you're home, just being a normal guy. Being a husband and father. It's a possibility. It's still an option for you. You're just being warned you're on a timelimit now LOL.

I don't know, you're going to have to do some serious soul searching. Pray to all the higher loving beings in the cosmos LOLOL. A lot is going on and you're distracted. You're going to have to figure it out. At the end of the day, you're going to have to live with the result.

Just know you may have to make some serious choices. Big choices that you may not want to.

Desperate measures even. I don't know but there needs to be a lot of thought here. Trust. And action. A plan. Think on it. Pray for guidance.
