Why is nobody talking about the "retirement" conversation between Ed and Izzy and what it means? We get told all the time that Izzy doesn't care about Ed at all, he's just in it for "Blackbeard"... but when Ed told him he wanted to retire, Izzy didn't mind at all.
Now contrast that with Izzy's meltdown after Ed's public performance in ep 10 and all that talk about wanting to stop being a pirate and just do talent shows for the rest of his life. Why was Izzy's reaction so different when the outcome would have been the same?
Because he did actually care about Ed. Izzy was ready to let Ed go if that's what made Ed happy, even though it would have meant losing him, or at least losing his position as Blackbeard's first mate that he cherished so much. But it had to happen in a way that made Ed not just happy but safe too. Retiring as a rich man set for life, safe in his disguise as an aristocrat? That's practically an utopian end game in piracy, something so impossible that most pirates wouldn't even dream of it. Izzy hated everything that the mobility represented, but he still would have wanted Ed to have it because it meant safety and staying alive. Piracy isn't exactly something you can keep doing well into your senior years. Above all he just wanted Ed to live a long and healthy life, even if that meant abandoning all that glory of being Blackbeard.
What he saw Ed fling towards in ep 10 wasn't anything like that. It wasn't his genius boss quietly conspiring with him to enact a fuckery that would set him up for life, low risk with incredibly high reward and his dignity still relatively intact. It was a broken, desperate man baring his heart and showing all of his cards to a group of people Izzy didn't know well, didn't respect or consider to be competent, nothing that would make him trust them to keep Ed safe in that fragile, vulnerable state he was currently in.
He probably saw their conversation at the end of ep 10 as something akin to pushing someone off a cliff into the water to save them from a raging forest fire: painful and seemingly cruel when forcibly doing it to someone against their will, but ultimately necessary to save their life.

(I do kinda love that this is officially "Raven Jacket" Crowley though) (does this open up the possibility of a selection of future Crowley fashion cards)

Oliver Adopts Danny
(Note: I have no idea what exactly happened on the island and made up my own thing. Also I had no plan when making this and it shows)
...
So! When Oliver landed on that Deserted Island, he wasn't alone.
On the Island, there was a Little Kid.
He was about 7, and he was just as confused as to why he was there. Apparently he had been sleeping at home when all of a sudden he felt himself falling, and seconds later he hit the ground in the forest. He couldn't remember anything past that, or really anything before that as well. He had seemingly lost his memories.
So, Oliver was stuck helping a Random Kid while trying to survive on the island.
He did learn that the Kid was a Metahuman with the ability to make Unmelting Ice, but the kid seemed disappointed by his powers. It was like he expected them to be stronger than they were. When asked, he said that he didn't actually know why he felt that, like it was something else he had forgotten.
And that was how the situation stood for a few years. He and the Kid, who he eventually learned was named Danny, became closer. He took up a paternal role in the kids Life, trying to keep him safe from the dangers of the island.
Danny was also a huge help on the island, his Ice was useful during Hot Nights, and the fact that it was Durable and Didn't Melt made it a good material for their tools. He also knew a lot of random skills, like the basics of how to shoot a Bow and how to set up a Campfire.
By the time they had been there for 3 years, Oliver already saw Danny like a Son. He had decided long ago that when they finally left the island, he would adopt him.
Then, on the 4th Year, Oliver found something strange. There were tracks in the Dirt on the less explored side of the Island, Human Tracks.
Following them, he found the source, An Illegal Slave Trading Ring.
The Base seemed to be new, so they had probably set up shop a few weeks ago at most. He and Danny must have missed them because they didn't usually go to that side of the Island.
He returned to the Camp that night and contemplated what to do.
It took another few days for him to resolve himself to go and save those people.
It took another few weeks to prepare himself.
It took less than 30 minutes to get the Job Done.
By the end of that night, every Slaver on the island was Dead, and the slaves were set free. They still didn't have a way off the island, since a few of them had managed to sabotage the boat before they died, but Oliver and Danny were there to help them.
By the 5th Year, they basically had a Small Village set up back there their Camp used to be. It was a community of all of the people Oliver had managed to save that night, all working together to survive on that Mysterious Island.
Then one day, finally got some luck. A Fishing Boat had gotten lost on their usual Route, and had spotted the SOS Signal that they had set up on the Beach.
After that it didn't take long for everyone on the Island to be saved. Oliver asked the former slaves to keep his heroics a secret because he wanted to keep him and Danny safe from the press, and they all agreed.
So, Oliver went home and adopted Danny.
He also decided to become a Vigilante.
And then eventually he joined the Justice League.
And one day while showing his son around the newly build Watchtower he ran into Constantine, who then proceeded to ask "Why the hell do you have a mini-death god holding your hand?"
...
I have no idea what this was supposed to be. I wanted Oliver to adopt Danny, and I wanted it to be on the Island, but I had no idea how to do it.
My basic idea for it is that Danny accidently wished for a Good Dad one day and Desiree heard him. So she turned him into a Kid, sealed away most of his Powers, and sent him to the Island with no memories past age 7.
Maybe this was "Ghost King Danny"?
Idk, I like it more as "King Danny who rejects the Throne but is still basically the leader because he keeps helping people no matter what" but that's just me.
Thoughts?

So I've been thinking more and more abt the fact that the fandom credits Bruce's incompetence in adulthood to being rich, and sure, it definitely plays a part, but I don't really get...Where it stems from specifically?
First of all, I don't think I've ever even seen a Mention of cleaning, cooking, gardening, driving etc staff; Alfred's our multi purposed, tired king, but he doesn't seem to have any colleagues to speak of?
Second of all; The Waynes truly don't seem like the " having people waiting on them hand and foot" brand of rich people? Like, wasn't their simplicity and relatively down to earth-ness the main reason why Gotham loved them so much??
So! Bruce's isolation and general lack of self-care knowledge can't be all blamed on his money, but the fact that he truly...Didn't have anyone to look at to learn?
Alfred did his best of course, but this is a heavily traumatised 8 year old who refused to look at anyone as family in fear of losing them too for the longest time.
I'm just crying at the thought of Bruce having no one to teach him how to pay bills, or make an appointment at the dentist, or go grocery shopping by himself, to order for himself at restaurants, or cook himself dinner, or keep his place tidy.
Those are all very mundane but precious and valuable activities that parents teach and share with their kids, and Bruce didn't fully get that. So what he did do was make sure his kids knew how to do it all.
Tim doesn't understand why Bruce wants them to try cooking every night. Jason doesn't get why he has to join Bruce, to watch him withdraw money or open an account at the bank
Damian doesn't get why they practice appointments with the vet. Cass doesn't necessarily think a 2 hour tutorial on how to power up the washing machine is crucial to her education.
" Because I don't want you to be like me. And when I'm gone, I want to make sure you can take care of yourself."
That may be the wrong thing to say because the thought of Bruce dying like a normal person makes them sob

Sir, don't. Show them who you are. This is who I am. No, it never has been. We hold the line, if you cross it now then there's no way back.

With a second read of Jonathan's journey to Dracula's castle, more and more I find myself admiring the locals he meets along the way.
They've clearly been under the oppressive threat of Dracula for a long time--all of them show true fear in the face of him. He's paramount to the Devil itself to them, going off the words Jonathan translates. And that's totally understandable, considering he steals their children for his "brides" to eat, never mind what other things he may be subjecting them to.
With that context, it would be very easy for them to leave Jonathan to his fate. They could tell themselves there's nothing to be done for him already. They could be glad that he's Dracula's choice, even, if that chances a reprieve for them.
But many of them chose compassion over fear.
Every step of Jonathan's last leg to Dracula's castle has someone reaching out to prevent the tragedy in front of them.
The woman in the hotel begs him to leave, please leave, for your safety, and when he refuses she freely gives up what might be a precious belonging in the hope it will save him.
The people at the bench of the hotel try to bless him from evil.
A man in the coach points out a beautiful view of the mountain during the ride, perhaps wishing to give Jonathan one last moment of wonder before he vanishes into the horrors of the castle.
The coachman drives his horses to their limit in the desperate hope that he can make Jonathan miss the awaiting coach, and the other passengers do not begrudge him this risky move but instead urge him to go faster, faster!
Very little of helps, in the end. They cannot prevent the start of this tragedy. There's a very good chance they knew that themselves.
But by god were they willing to try.

Don’t like him for obvious reasons, but one things on my mind…
I’ve noticed a lot of people calling Noah schnapp a bad actor, and don’t get me wrong I dislike the guy more than anything but like, did we all watch season 2 of ST? Like I hate how he’s misrepresenting Judaism but I always thought he was a good actor, like I heard apparently in season 1 when he auditioned he had to do season 2 scenes cause they’re obviously a lot more challenging (at the time I thought he was robbed of an Emmy) but now it seems to be common consensus he’s a bad actor? Like don’t get me wrong I hate the guy but shouldn’t we hate him for things he’s actually done?
