Why do people find the need to invalidate aro/ace characters' identities just because they want to ship or simp for that character
As someone on the aroace spectrum, I've only ever seen allos mention the spectrum and microlabels to use as loopholes to ship. They also dont use queerplatonic relationships right. I am not against these bc i identify with aro and ace microlabels and i like to see microlabels and queerplatonic relationships getting recognized properly but not as loopholes
Its like me shipping a gay and lesbian character and calling it queerplatonic as an excuse
Its aphobic and arophobic. Especially when the character shows no interest, and even disgust, at romance and sex
Why do we, the aromantic and/or asexual community, excuse nsfw/ship drawings/fics? It wouldn't fly if you made ship art or fic of a gay and female character, so why does it fly to make an aroace character allo or sexualize them? We deserve respect
Idc what your headcanons are. It still upsets me as someone on this spectrum who uses microlabels
I just had to get my thoughts out

By the way:
Your asexuality doesn't make you a soft uwu baby. Your aromanticism doesn't make you evil or cruel. Being aceallo doesn't make you bad rep for the aroace community. Being aroallo doesn't make you a player. Being romance-repulsed doesn't make you heartless. Being sex-repulsed doesn't make you childish or innocent. Being romance-favourable doesn't mean you aren't aro(spec). Being romance-repulsed doesn't make you a bad person.
You get to decide what you are, not the stereotypes or other people's opinions, you.

My brain is literally incapable of understanding the notion that getting into a relationship with a friend is the absolute worst thing in the world.
Why?? Literally why is that so bad?
“Don’t date them, you’ve known them for years and are very close with them and know almost everything about them! You should date this person instead, because they’re hot and you’ve never interacted with them before.”
Like huh

Looking for posts about being fictosexual cause I’m pretty sure I am, but almost everything is selfship related. Which there’s nothing wrong with! But it’s not what I’m looking, for plus I’m aro so selfshipping isn’t something I really feel a desire to engage with. I just think my blorbos are attractive lol!

That mesque anon that asked you for the term a few asks ago! Thank you so much!! /genuine
Here again to ask: could you combine the aroace-spec flag (orange-blue one) with the mesque flag? (preferably the mesque flag with the caption "Mesque flag - kenochoric")
also if it's not too much to ask, could the flag have a blue-ish theme? (I use aroace, but I'm technically aroace-spec and I really appreciate the addition of the blue to represent the entire spectrum)

I made three versions! The leftmost and middle ones are more blue like you requested, and then I wanted to try out blending them in a different way. What do you think?? 💙💚

This might be an unpopular opinion but I’m not a huge fan of the book Loveless by Alice Oseman for aroace representation. It’s all about how being aroace is okay because love and connection is possible in ways that aren’t romantic and sexual. I agree that love and connection are possible in other ways, but that’s not possible for everyone and it just makes me feel like the book was trying to make up for aroace-ness by using the trope of other forms of love and connection.

Got some pride rings! I know they aren’t exactly the black and white ones most wear, but then again, I consider myself aroace-spec, so the gold lining kinda fits!
This is so far the most visible way for me to show my sexuality, and I absolutely love it. It’s still subtle enough for most not to notice and after all it’s really for myself.

Angled-AroAce
Tumblr media
Wanted to create a 4 stripe version of the Angled-AroAce flag that counterparts with the Oriented-AroAce version.
Out of all the Angled-AroAce flags (excluding my 4 stripe), my favorite has to be the 5 stripes (the one below):

It’s specifically the warm yellow-orange hues, tints, and tones that remind me of sunflowers and honey bees <3 It’s just so cozy y’all ( ~ w ~ )

Slanted Aroace
Tumblr media
Someone who falls on the aromantic-spectrum and asexual-spectrum but are not strictly aroace, who feel as though their tertiary attraction/s overpower what romantic/sexual they do feel, or that the tertiary attraction/s are more important.
Similar to Angled Aroace, however no part of Slanted Aroace refers to romantic or sexual attraction. Similar to Oriented Aroace, however Slanted Aroace refers to aroace-specs who are not strictly aromantic asexual.

[ID: Five equally sized strips of colour. The first is sandcastle yellow and says Alterous Attraction, the second is maroon yellow and says Platonic Attraction, the third is white and says Queerplatonic Attraction, the fourth is arctic blue and says Aesthetic Attraction, the fifth is sky blue and says Sensual Attraction. End ID]

Honestly one of the hardest part of being aroace or acespec/arospec is having to tone down how much I love. I love making people feel cared for. I remember little details about people. I just want to be a place of comfort and love.
But we live in such a romantic/sex centric society that if you're too nice, or remember too much, you must be interested in them.
The number of times I'm just being my loving self and people interpret it as romantic interest is exhausting.
