Pairing: Draco Malfoy x gn!reader

Summary: The son of one of the most Blood-Proud families in the Wizarding World gets caught with a Muggle device.

Warnings: None, just fluff <3

Word Count: 874

Draco Malfoy is part of the most notorious Pure-blood families of the Wizarding world. It's common knowledge that him and his family are not fans of anything Muggle. It's how they were brought up, and how their lifestyle will be.

You thought Draco was the same; cruel, cold, and extremely anti-Muggle. That was, until, you caught him in an abandoned classroom, in quite a compromising position.

"Oh, sorry Malfoy I didn't mean to intrude, what are you- IS THAT A WALKMAN?"

Draco Malfoy's head snapped up to look at you and he shoved the Walkman into the pocket of his robe, before sharply getting up and darting towards you.

"No, I don't know what you're talking about." He stares at you, questioning whether you are going to continue your interrogation. Obviously you are.

"Umm, yes you do! That was a Walkman, I had one for my 16th birthday a couple months ago. Why do have a Muggle device?"

At that comment, Malfoy shoves you into the wall, and covers your mouth with his hand. "Shut up." He realises how close the two of you are, and takes a few steps away from you.

"OK, you need to calm down. I'm just asking." You try to shrug off his reaction, but you still have more questions. "Why are you, of all people, secretly listening to Muggle music?"

Draco sighs and turns back towards you. "Do you promise not to tell anyone? Especially not my friends? And my father won't hear about this?"

"Yeah," you raise your eyebrows, "I won't tell anyone."

"The music is actually really good. My father wouldn't let me take Muggle Studies as a class in third year, but that Granger girl did, and I heard her talking about... Muggle things."

"OK, so you secretly bought a Sony Walkman?"

"I saw it in a Muggle charity shop in London when I was on my way to Diagon Alley. I just thought it would be cool. The gadget already had these songs on it." He shows you a list of 10 songs in a tidy scrawl.

"Why do you care about me?" You hear Malfoy say, very quietly.

"Well, I care because you go around screaming bloody murder about Muggle-borns, and here you are on a Saturday afternoon, hidden away in an abandoned classroom."

"It's complicated. I actually think things like this," he pulls the Walkman out of his pocket, "are really cool. We don't have this kind of magic as wizards."

"I guess. I've never really thought about it like that." You walk over to one of the desks and sit on the table. "My mum's a Muggle, you see. I was brought up on Chocolate Frogs and Disney films."

"What are Disney films?" Draco asks, confused. "Is that like, another sweet?"

"Oh. My. Gosh. You've not heard of Disney? Or films, for that matter?" You suppress a small laugh.

"Well, I did just mention that my father was a controlling, anti-Muggle lunatic. So, no I don't know what films are." The coldness that you knew as Draco Malfoy started to peek through at this comment, but not enough for you to be deterred by his response.

"OK, I am definitely bringing in my projector. And a Disney film." You stop and think for a moment. "What kind of things do you like? Animals, magic, princesses?"

This was how you ended up in your dormitory on a Friday night a week later, led on your bed with Draco Malfoy, watching Bambi.

"What just happened? Where's his mum gone?"

You turn around to see Draco's eyes welling up, and looking confused at the moving picture on the screen.

"Umm, yeah, she dies Draco. The hunters got her."

"That's awful! This is a kid's film! What children enjoy this?"

Right. Maybe Bambi wasn't a good first choice for an introduction into Disney films. You definitely should have gone for The Little Mermaid.

"But, Draco watch."

The two of you finish watching the film, but Draco still seems hesitant.

"See Draco, it has a happy ending."

"Yeah, but his mum still died. How would you get over that?"

"I don't know Draco, but that's not the point of the film. It's about friendship, and development, and love."

"I still don't think it's acceptable for children." Draco huffs indignantly.

"Draco, wizarding children's stories involve RIPPING PEOPLE'S HEARTS OUT and even BEING MURDERED FOR POWER. How is this unacceptable?" You sigh, mostly joking.

Draco doesn't say anything to that comment, but a moment later he asks. "Can we watch another next week?"

You turn to him surprised. "Really? You enjoyed this? I thought you said it was unacceptable for children..."

"Yeah, but... I like spending time with you."

At this, you turn around and face Draco, looking into his eyes. "I like spending time with you too."

Draco pulls you in towards him, and your lips meet.

"Maybe," he thinks, "being caught with my Muggle music wasn't so bad after all."

“I didn’t need your help back there,” the woman bites as she passes him, leading her horse through an alleyway. Her cheeks are red when James catches up with her, and he can see the tension in her jaw, the way her green eyes sparkle with determination as she tucks strands of rich copper hair back beneath the safety of her riding hood.

He bristles at this. “My apologies, miss,” he replies with exasperation, palms open as he gestures in the direction of the fray they’d just escaped. “I must have mistakenly assumed that with three of the King’s guards after you and no weapon on your person that you may have been in need of someone interceding.”

“Why did you do it?”

“What?”

“You said it yourself, three of the King’s guards are after me, why do you not see me as a threat?” Her eyes flash. “Is it because of my sex?”

James is silent. She’s quick to anger, and he’s trying to figure how best to admit that it wasn’t what she assumed, but it was how he was struck by the glimpse of fear he had seen when the guards had blocked the exits of the town square.

It doesn’t seem a wise confession.

“I can’t quite explain it,” James answers instead, head slightly shaking as he takes a careful step towards where she checks the security of the bags on her horse. When she turns around, he notices they’re closer than he realized as a surprised breath reaches his ears, her eyes gone a little wide. “You just seemed like someone who needed an escape.”

It’s the woman’s turn to be silent as her eyes continue to stare into his, and James doesn’t know what’s going through her mind, her face remaining unreadable.

“Where will you go?” he asks, and her brows furrow at the question.

“Away.”

“Away? Do you not have a destination?”

She turns around, breaking their lingering gaze as she continues to fuss over her animal. “My destination is wherever I please, and none of your business.”

“I don’t—Will you be alright? I don’t know how it sits with my conscience letting you go away with no plans or way to defend yourself.”

“I don’t need saving or protecting. I’m not the damsel in distress to your gallant knight.” She insists, and James finds himself struck as she easily pulls herself onto her horse, stroking its chestnut mane as she contemplates her next words. “If it eases your conscience, you can join me.”

He doesn’t know what he was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t that. Her eyes are fixated on her horse, not on him, and he thinks it might be a sliver of vulnerability cracking through her aloof exterior. James doesn’t know if she’s being facetious or if it’s a genuine offer, but he feels a strange pull that sees him stepping a little closer to the horse.

“Alright.”

“What?”

“I said alright. I’ll join you.” He appraises her, brows raising. “Unless you didn’t mean it.”

She stares back, a sigh finally escaping through her lips before her hands tighten on the reins of the horse. “Very well. Come along.”

James blinks a couple of times, still a bit in shock from this whole exchange, before approaching. He strokes the animal’s mane, placing a hand securely on the back of its neck for leverage.

“What are you doing?”

Her sharp voice is muddied by a slight hint of amusement, and James looks up at where she sits with confusion. “I’m…coming with you?”

“This is my horse.”

“I don’t—”

“You don’t lead my horse.” The woman jerks her head behind her, signaling his place in all of this. “You’re behind me.”

He feels the heat rush to his face as the situation settles. Balking at the idea of it—knowing it means he’d have to wrap his arms around her for balance and feeling a traitorous stirring within—he tries to make her see his dilemma. “But that’s…” improper, he wants to say, but realizes how foolish that would sound in the midst of all these hurried, unorthodox plans.

“If you have a problem with it, you can stay.”

“No, no…I’ll…” he gestures to the horse as he moves to mount behind her, sucking in a breath at the warmth of her body so close to his, arms carefully wrapping around her waist. She stills at his touch and he panics, looking for a way to bridge this awkward moment as the ludicrousness of what they’re doing settles in. “I’m James, by the way. James Potter.”

“Evans,” she offers in response with a glance over her shoulder, and though he notes the absence of a first name, he doesn’t pry.

Instead, he lets out a chuckle. “Evans? Any relation to the King?”

The few seconds of silence weigh heavy on him, somehow saying more than her words ever could. His stomach knots with the implication, and he tries to convince himself that he’s just on edge.

“Of course not. That’s ridiculous.”

And without wasting another moment, her heels dig into the side of the horse and they’re off—all thoughts of a runaway princess disappearing from his mind as his arms tighten around her in hopes of not falling.

A/N: Thank you for requesting this. I love cuddles with Yuta, he’s just so sweet. I couldn’t help but use the dragon prince as the show they watch while cuddling because it’s one of my favorites right now and if you’ve watched you should understand my comparisons, if you haven’t watched it I highly recommend, it has such diversity and has the same feel as Avatar the Last Airbender, plus there are a bunch of easter eggs for atla because one of the creators was also a writer and producer on Avatar. Dating Yuta has been a dream come true. He is the sweetest guy I have ever met and it feels like he understands me better than anyone. It’s almost like he can sense when I’m having a bad day because today he suggested that we skip hanging out with our friends to just stay in and watch one of my favorite shows. So, that's exactly what we are doing right now, we’er cuddled up on my bed with a bowl of skittles on my lap watching The Dragon Prince on netflix.

I just really enjoy laying with him and commenting on the little jokes each character makes or judging Viren for being a horrible father. We also like to try and figure out which character reminds us of each other and our friends, that’s the current debate we are having.

“There is no way Toge is Claudia, if anything he’s Zym. Because one, he can’t talk, and two he likes to cause trouble. I don’t think any of our friends are evil enough to be Claudia.” I said completely flabbergasted that he would insinuate that our best friend would be able to do such horrid things to people and animals.

He laughed and said “I wasn’t saying that because I think he’s evil or something, I was saying it because in the first few seasons Claudia is a complete dork, yeah she sucks for doing dark magic but she does dumb stuff as well. Anyway, now that we have Inumaki picked, who would Maki be? I personally think Rayla is an exact copy of her; they would both roll their eyes and slap someone for being an idiot.”

I chuckled at his defense, “I completely agree. Maki is also too stubborn to ask for help when she really needs it. Panda is Ezran, I will not accept any argument, he understands Toge and encourages his dumb behaviors.” I started with no room for argument. “Also you are Soren, don't try to fight it, that's my final decision and I'm sticking to it.”

“W-what how am I Soren?” My boyfriend looked at me obviously confused by my statement. “I’m not disagreeing, I’m just curious why you think that.”

“Well for one you both use swords to fight. But most importantly, you are both extremely kind in spite of the fact you have both been through a lot. Soren spent years being gaslite by his father into doing horrible things, and when he tried to make his sister see it she also tried to gaslight him. Once he finally realized his family was doing horrible things he made the hard choice to leave them and change for the better. Now I’m not saying you have the same past but I know you struggled and suffered for a while. Having Rika lash out everytime something even came close to threatening you and not understanding it had to have been difficult, but instead of giving up, you decided to keep fighting and try and make it so no one else has to go through what you did.” I pointed out the major similarities between the two swordsmen. “Also I think you are both adorable.”

He just watched amazed by my reasoning, thinking I was just gonna say it was because they both use swords and are dorks, but no it was like I had thought about this alot. “I-i- Wow, you’ve thought about that a lot haven’t you?” he asked with a light blush.

I smiled up at him. “ Yeah I have, you have been through a lot and I'm proud of you for it. Now the most important question, what character am I?” I asked, trying to see his brain work.

“Oh definitely Bait.” He said confidently as I looked at him in shock.

“Excuse me, I just gave a college dissertation level speech on why I think you are a handsome swordsman, and all I get is a toad.” I said sitting up and turning to fully face him.

“Well yeah you are both adorable when you’re grumpy, both love shiny things, and you have a massive sweet tooth.” He said, defending his choice, reaching to try and pull back to lay with him. I begrudgingly layed back down resting my head on his chest, I felt his arm wrap around my shoulders as he placed a kiss to the top of my head. “Now shush, one of your favorite moments is coming up.”

I just nodded and snuggled closer to his side as I turned to watch as general Amya accidentally ruined her own engagement. I always find it funny, like yeah I get wanting to propose in a flashy way but seriously. Amya is a high ranked general who doesn't seem like someone who enjoys random surprises, what else would you expect to happen ambushing her with what look like flaming whips. I chuckled at the scene before closing my eyes, just enjoying the time I get to spend cuddling Yuta. I whispered a quiet “I Love you” as I drifted off to sleep.

Right as I let sleep take over, I heard Yuta respond with his “I love you too” before we both feel asleep to the sounds of dragons, elves, and magic.

You whine so fucking much about how people don't care about innovades aside from Tieria, but you yourself haven't drawn Grave, Beside, 874, 887, Leif, etc etc even once, lol.

ive not read 00F, N, I etc yet, hope that helps 😭

i did not read them because when i did look out to read them they were hard to find anywhere online (except for one of them, but i did not want to only read one that wasnt even at the start of it all), and i was also not that interested in them all that much either; i know some characters from them are in the sd gundam game that's also on steam (cross rays (?)), but with how much ive been drawing lately & other irl things, i didnt get around to get it. i wanted to first see the characters through that & then try more to find the mangas if i wind up interested in them (my very first exposure of gundam as a whole that even led me to 00 was dwg3) or in worst case scenario just read the entire wiki of what goes on in them. from some friends that have read bits of them or know about them, they didnt like it so i didnt get my hopes up is all. i did like 874 & 887s designs and i was thinking of drawing them at some point regardless

for majority of them though, they have such drastically different of designs from all 00 media we mainly have that its also hard for me to grasp them as fitting in this series (not to say the designs are bad in any way! when i first got here i thought they looked pretty cool, i just think they look a bit off with the rest of 00, at least for the anime) with the introduction of even more dna sequences for some of them afaik 😭 its why ive also abstained from drawing the blue haired innovade appearing in the 2nd season livestage, but i did not cross out the possibility to draw them.

if you so much wanted me to draw any or even all of them that appear in these side stories, you couldve also simply just asked; ive written several times i am always open to requests including innovades

my tldr is i was not interested in those side stories yet to know much about them & i like focusing on drawing those i already know of + i do want to also draw every single background innovade we are shown thruout the anime & movie, despite they've no names

Origin: Egypt

Bastet, great cat goddess, has dominion over sex, fertility, marriage, magic, music, childbirth, prosperity, joy, dance, and healing—in short, the pleasures of life. She protects humans against infertility, dangers of childbirth, "evil" spirits, illness, and bodily injuries, especially those caused by venomous creatures. A tomb inscription says Bastet bestows “life, prosperity and health every day and long life and beautiful old age.”

Bastet offers special protection to women and children and serves as matron of magicians and healers. Her cult began in the Nile Delta swamps. The earliest known portrait of Bastet dates to circa 3,000 BCE. By about 950 BCE, she was worshipped throughout Egypt. For a while, she was the most popular goddess in the kingdom. Her veneration reached its zenith during the reign of Osorkon II (874–853 BCE), when a major temple was erected at her cult city, Bubastis. Devotion to Bastet officially survived until 30 BCE and the Roman conquest, the Romans having little sympathy for animal-shaped gods.

Her annual festival in Bubastis was Egypt’s most popular. A precursor of modern Mardi Gras, it was renowned for parties, ||revelry, and drunkenness.|| Herodotus, the Greek traveler and historian writing in the fifth century BCE, claimed that more ||wine|| was consumed in Egypt during this festival than during the entire rest of the year. Although many details are lost, Bastet’s festival celebrated female sexuality and generative power. Boats sailed up the Nile toward Bubastis. As each barge approached towns and settlements, it would halt and the mainly female celebrants on board would loudly hail local women congregating on the riverbanks. Bastet may be the wife and/or daughter of Ra, the sun and Isis. Among the spirits described as her sons are Maahes, Khonsu, and Nefertem.

NARRATOR: Starting: File 5. Case Number: 874-13-26E. Code Name: Ziegegen.

NARRATOR: I have no clue what the code name is referencing.

NARRATOR: Reading the first few lines, it might be the word "Ziege" with "gen" added on. I guess I can assume it's a nod to the cryptid, Goat Man, known in Sector 0. In this file, the sub-classification is the same as the code name, which goes to show how creative the researchers for this project are.

[pause]

NARRATOR:

Classification: Anomaly Sub-Classification: Ziegegen

Containment Procedures: 874-13-26E are a group of goat-men that live in Sector 11-F, Subsector B. They are aggressive towards those without gold on their person, attacks towards an individual, and outsiders. There are seemingly three types of 974-13-26E; the one that holds the most numbers have been given the name "Ziegegen" by various 874-13-26B members. They are the middle ground of the three types in terms of temperament and need only Formula F1 to subdue for containment and tests. The more aggressive type, termed "Brutes" by 874-13-26B, need Formulas F8 and G5. (See Containment Addendum 874-13-26E-1 for why mixing Formulas F8 and G5 together is prohibited.)

The third type are termed "Undead Ziegegen" by 874-13-26B. They are the more passive members of 874-13-26E if unthreatened. They can be brought into containment without sedatives but if necessary, Formula A1 will send them back into a calm state.

Containment Addendum 874-13-26E-1: Formula F8 is a relaxant; it will not send a subject unconscious immediately. Formula G5 is blocker; it will send a subject unconscious quickly, but does not immediately calm a subject down. Mixing Formulas F8 and G5 has proven to be catastrophic to subject systems and has resulted in a total of six subject deaths before researchers realized it was the formula mixing instead of containment cells or moving from habitat.

Containment Addendum 874-13-26E-2: 874-13-26E may very well resemble their non-hominid counterparts in Sector 0 in that they eat whatever is placed in front of them, but with more human-like capabilities, there will be instances where they refuse to eat. Containment procedures have updated to involve placing entertainment and enrichment items in with the subjects, as a bored or panicked 874-13-26E subject can be destructive. Added Note from Dr. Roberts: So long as researchers are wearing something gold, and they are recording the interaction, the Seven have approved playing with or attempting to speak to contained 874-13-26E subjects. Any found to not record their interactions will be transferred to a different project.

Description: All three types of 874-13-26E visually differ from the other two. Clearance Level: 5 Access to "Brutes" description. 874-13-26E's more abundant variation are visually like the Sector 0 animal known as a Billy goat that walks on two legs and is capable of using their front legs as a two-fingered hand. There are no visual indication on gender despite their similarities. Their fur comes in a wide variety of colors like their Sector 0 counterparts. Clearance Level: 5 Access to "Undead Ziegegen" description.

NARRATOR: As my clearance level still has not changed from Level 4, I can only say the description of the "middle ground" version of 874-13-26E subject is accurate enough. It really does put in mind the Goat Man, weird.
