Dean rapped his knuckles on the wood door, pausing for a second before nudging it open with his shoulder. Cas was lying on the bed in his room, propped up against the headboard with a book in his lap, and Dean was once again hit with the startling recollection that Cas actually needed to sleep now that he didn’t have his Grace. Somehow it was endearing to see Cas this way; curled up under the covers and rubbing sleep from his eyes.
But wasn't that the point of this? The whole reason Dean had come knocking on Cas' door in the first place. Because Cas had been without his powers for months now, and also because they were in a lull with finding Metatron and killing Abbadon. What they needed was a little break. And even though they were dealing with more shit than ever before, Dean yearned to slow things down around them for just a couple of days to show Cas some of the good things about being human.
Dean had been the one to suggest the idea casually to Sam, and with Ezekiel healing him slowly, it was best for Sam to stay at the Bunker and rest. Which gave Dean the perfect opportunity. Now the only thing to do was to bring the idea to Cas.
“Hey, buddy,” Dean said, hovering in the doorway. “Mind if I come in?”
Cas smiled, lowering his book and closing it with a quiet thump. “Not at all,” he said, gesturing for Dean to enter the room. “Did something happen?” he asked, smile shifting into something more alert as he pushed himself further up in the bed.
“No, no, nothing happened,” Dean quickly reassured, taking a couple steps closer before hesitating at the foot of the bed. Should he sit on the bed? Should he pull up a chair? Should he just stand there? Why was he overthinking this? God, he really needed to get these bubbling feelings under control before he opened his mouth and said something he shouldn’t. “I was uh. Actually wondering if you were busy?”
Cas blinked a couple times, tilting his head and squinting up at Dean in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“I thought we could go on a little road trip. Just you and me for a couple of days. Wanted to show you a few things now that you’re sorta human,” Dean said.
“A road trip? Don’t we do that all the time?” Cas asked.
Dean grinned, nudging Cas’ leg with his knee as he plopped himself down on the edge of the bed. “Well, yeah. But this isn’t gonna be a road trip for a case. There’s a couple of spots around here that you’ve got to experience. Sights and smells you haven’t seen yet. Oh, and the best stack of pancakes you’ll ever eat. You’ve just gotta trust me.”
Something soft and affectionate sparked through Cas’ eyes before he nodded. “Best pancakes I’ll ever eat? Is that so?” he teased.
All the nerves that had been lurching in Dean’s stomach settled all at once, and he shoved at Cas’ leg again. Yeah. This he could do. Their usual playful antics that he enjoyed so much. He didn’t need to think about that little spark that was twining around his heart at the way Cas had just smiled at him.
“Just you wait. Now that you’ve got taste buds, I’m gonna make you try every single food I can get my hands on. I will find every single thing you enjoy eating, mark my words,” Dean said lightly, hauling himself up from the bed. “Twenty minutes. Get your ass moving and meet me at the car.”
Cas laughed, free and happy, and Dean’s heart lurched in his chest. Oh, he was going to do everything he could over the next two days just to hear that sound again.
Dean had just reached the door when Cas called out to him.
“Hey, Dean?”
Dean turned, hand on the doorknob as he looked back at Cas. “Yeah?”
“Thank you,” Cas said, smiling so warmly that it made Dean feel momentarily weak in the knees. Oh God. If Cas kept smiling at him like that, Dean was going to do something he regretted, like kiss Cas stupid until he could feel that smile against his own lips.
“Yeah, of course. Twenty minutes. Don’t be late,” Dean said, flashing Cas a quick smile before bolting from the room; the door snapping shut behind him as he escaped to the safety of his own room.
Pressing his back into his bedroom door, Dean heaved in a deep breath; closing his eyes and scrubbing his hands over his face. This idea was either the best thing he’d ever come up with... or it was going to be the death of him. Maybe he’d be able to get over this stupid fluttering feeling in his chest. Or maybe, just maybe, that feeling was going to explode until it consumed him whole.
~
"Where are we going first?" Cas asked, sliding into the passenger seat exactly nineteen minutes later.
A minute early, Dean noted. Was that deliberate? Was it accidental? Dean couldn't possibly be overthinking one teeny tiny little minute, could he?
"Pancakes, obviously. Unless you're suddenly going to turn your nose up at chocolate," Dean said, darting his eyes over to Cas as they pulled out of the Bunker onto the main dirt road winding through the woods.
"Chocolate?" Cas repeated, turning in his seat until he'd angled his body towards Dean. The smile that crept across his lips was so dazzling that Dean had to suck in a sharp breath and force his eyes on the road. "I love chocolate."
Huffing out a laugh, Dean clicked on the music and Zeppelin softly filled the air. "Oh really? I never would've known." Shifting onto the main road, Dean grinned at Cas. "I definitely didn't see you eat 3 chocolate bars yesterday."
Cas pretended to be shocked, gasping at Dean even though his eyes were sparkling with laughter. "That certainly wasn't me. Sam framed me."
The laughter bubbled up from Dean’s chest, and he couldn't stop himself from knocking his hand against Cas' knee. "You're a menace. You and your sudden sweet tooth."
"I don't see you complaining that hard. Considering now you have someone to eat chocolate pancakes with."
The breath caught in Dean's throat; such simple words hitting like a wave against his chest. Keeping his focus on the road, he quickly darted his gaze over at Cas from the corner of his eye. Cas had tucked himself against the door, with his body still tilted towards Dean. There was a soft expression on his face; a smile that lit up his eyes with his nose crinkled adorably.
Oh God, this feeling really was going to consume Dean.
Shifting the conversation towards topics that wouldn’t make Dean’s heart ache in his chest, the hour-long drive slipped by in a blur. The diner soon loomed on the horizon, and it was so easy to keep talking about blueberries vs bananas as Dean guided the Impala into a parking spot.
“Doesn’t it depend on what you’re putting the fruit with?” Dean asked, holding the diner door open for Cas to walk through. “Besides, bananas can be baked into far more things than blueberries.”
Cas scrunched up his face, giving Dean a look that bordered on a pout. “You’re just saying that because you prefer bananas over blueberries.”
"I would never," Dean teased, before stepping up to the counter. "Table for two, please."
"Right this way," the hostess said, guiding them to a booth in the back of the diner.
As soon as they sat down, Cas moved to pick up a menu from the table, but Dean reached out from the other side of the booth and plucked it from Cas' hands. "Nope. No looking. You just gotta trust me on this one, yeah?"
"What if I don't like it?" Cas asked, raising an eyebrow even though he leaned back in his seat, conceding to Dean's statement of trust.
Tapping his fingers against the table, Dean tried not to linger on the way their fingertips had just barely brushed when he'd pulled the menu from Cas' grasp. "You will. Don't overthink it and have a little faith in me."
"I do. Trust you," Cas said, something in his tone slipping from playful to serious.
Dean shook his head, dispelling the heavier tone. He didn't want to think about Cas' unwavering trust and how most days he felt like he didn't deserve it. Right now, this moment was about showing Cas something more.
"Good. Because if you don't like it, I'm never speaking to you again," Dean joked, lightening the mood again.
"Never again? That's a long time to not talk to me because of some pancakes, Dean,” Cas laughed.
Just as Dean was about to throw another tease at Cas, a waiter appeared at their table with a smile and a notepad in his hand.
“Hi there, welcome to Mel’s. My name’s Hunter. Can I get you something to drink?”
“Actually, Hunter, we’re ready to order. Two coffees, one with cream and sugar and one with cream. And two short stacks of the rocky road pancakes, please.”
Hunter smiled, jotting down the order. “Well that was easy. I’ll get those coffees out to you both in just a few moments.”
“Thank you,” Cas said, as Hunter collected their menus and disappeared towards the kitchen. “You know how I like my coffee?”
Dean ducked his head, a sudden tinge burning his cheeks as he cleared his throat. “Cream and two sugars. Like I said, you like things on the sweeter side,” Dean said, avoiding Cas’ gaze from the other side of the table.
“You’re very observant,” Cas pointed out.
Dean bit down on his tongue, forcing himself to swallow the words ‘I’m only observant when it comes to you.’ Instead, he threw on a cocky smirk and said, “That’s because I’m an excellent hunter.”
Rolling his eyes, Cas kicked Dean lightly under the table. “You’re not that good.”
Dean pretended to be offended, scrunching up one of the spare napkins and throwing it at Cas’ face. Cas laughed, bright and giddy, and Dean felt a weightless feeling in his chest. He spent the next 15 minutes doing anything and everything he could just to hear Cas laugh again and again.
By the time their pancakes and coffee arrived at the table, Cas’ cheeks were pink from laughter and Dean had never been more smitten. Cas made a little sound of shock as the pancakes were put in front of him; his eyes widening as he looked up at Dean in surprise.
Three massive chocolate pancakes covered the entire size of the plate. Topped with handfuls of marshmallows and almonds, along with a drizzle of chocolate syrup and cocoa powder, it was a chocolate overload.
“What do you think? Does it look sweet enough for you, angel?” Dean said, with a grin.
“Looks like Heaven,” Cas muttered, picking up his fork and taking a bite. Cas instantly groaned in pleasure, eyes fluttering shut as he hummed happily. “Tastes like it, too.”
Dean wasn’t sure whether to laugh at Cas’ words or to dwell on the sound Cas had made when he tasted the pancakes, and it was all too much and not enough.
“You like it?” Dean asked, swallowing a mouthful of his own pancake and washing it down with a sip of coffee just so he could distract himself from the look of sheer bliss that was on Cas’ face.
“It’s the best thing I’ve ever eaten,” Cas said, dipping one of the mini marshmallows into the chocolate syrup with a grin.
This time Dean did laugh, nudging Cas’ leg under the table with his foot. “Don’t eat it too fast or you’ll give yourself hiccups.”
“That’s not a thing,” Cas said, chewing on another mouthful of pancake.
“Yeah, Cas, it is,” Dean said, huffing out a breath and rolling his eyes fondly.
As if to prove his point, Cas started hiccuping a minute later. Dean raised an eyebrow, as if to say, ‘see, I told you,’ and Cas pouted.
“But it’s so-” he broke off to hiccup, “Good.”
“You’re ridiculous,” Dean said warmly. “Hold your breath for twenty seconds, and then eat a little slower. The pancake isn’t going anywhere.”
Cas gave Dean a sharp look. “Unless you-” he hiccuped again, “steal it from my plate before I can eat it.”
Okay, that was a fair point. Dean definitely had eaten from Cas’ plate before. But this time, he placed his hand on his heart as he said, “I won’t touch your pancakes, you have my word.”
Shoulders bouncing as Cas hiccuped again, Dean watched as Cas took in a deep breath and then held it. He internally counted as well, watching as Cas let the breath out twenty seconds later.
They both waited a beat, then two, and when no more hiccups came, Cas beamed at Dean. “It worked,” he said before moving to take another bite of chocolatey goodness.
They lapsed into comfortable silence as they ate, both of them enjoying their breakfast. Cas broke the moment a few minutes later to say, "I want to eat these pancakes every day for the rest of my life."
Taking a sip of his coffee, Dean grinned across the table at Cas. "I'm not sure if we can get out here every day. But we can make it a thing, if you want? Every Sunday that we're at home, you and I can drive down here for breakfast," Dean offered.
Cas nodded eagerly, a genuine smile lighting up his face. "I'd love that."
Something warm settled in Dean's veins; seeing Cas so happy and content over something as simple as a stack of pancakes. It was all Dean had wanted. To see Cas smile and to see him enjoy something Dean also liked.
Nodding firmly, decision made, Dean nudged Cas with his foot again. “Finish your pancakes. We’ve got more things to explore today.”
“Like what?” Cas asked, freezing with his fork inches from his lips. Dean had to force himself to look away before he stared at the way Cas’ lips wrapped around the fork.
“You’ll see. I’ll give you a couple options in the car and you can pick whichever one you want,” Dean said, biting down on his own fork just a little too roughly; the tang of metal vibrating along his tooth.
Cas pouted, pointing at Dean with the handle of his fork. “What if I want to know the options now?”
Miming zipping his lips closed, Dean smiled at the fond exasperation that Cas shot his way. The expression instantly melted into a smile again as Cas scooped more marshmallows onto his chocolate pancake.
“A new tradition,” Cas murmured, more to himself than Dean, but Dean heard the fondness in the words and his heart kicked up again in his chest.
God, Dean was happy. Happier than he’d been in a long time. He genuinely cared about Cas enjoying things, and knowing he’d been able to make Cas smile was a damn good feeling.
By the time they made their way back to the Impala twenty minutes later, both full of chocolatey sweetness, Cas immediately tapped his fingers on Dean’s knee. “What are the options?”
Rolling his eyes, Dean nudged Baby into gear and pulled back out onto the road. “So impatient.”
“Shut up,” Cas huffed, his tone sharply contrasting the happy look on his face.
“Alright. Simple question. Don’t think too hard about it. Ready?”
Cas nodded.
“Aquarium or the zoo?”
Cas’ eyes sparkled bright blue in the late morning sunlight as he made his choice. “Aquarium.”
~
The afternoon sun crept through the Impala windows as they arrived at the aquarium in Kansas City a couple of hours later. Cas had spent the entire drive talking about the evolution of fish and their importance to the earth from creation until now.
It was entirely endearing, hearing Cas talk so animatedly. It made Dean want to pull over; to watch Cas talk as he hung on every word that slipped past Cas’ lips. Instead, he darted his eyes over to the passenger seat as often as he could, watching as Cas occasionally emphasized his point by gesturing with his hands.
Too cute.
Dean turned his eyes back to the road again.
As soon as they’d parked, Cas was out of the car and gravitating towards the entrance before Dean could even open his door. There was an excited gleam in Cas’ eyes, and Dean felt the electric pull as he allowed Cas to lead the way to the ticket booth.
“I wonder if they’ll have any seahorses. Did you know they’re the only animals where the male carries the eggs and undergoes the birthing process?” Cas asked as Dean purchased the tickets.
Dean hummed vaguely in answer, not wanting to take away from Cas’ enthusiasm by admitting he already knew that. “I’m sure they’ll have plenty of seahorses,” he said instead, watching Cas from the corner of his eye as the former angel beamed.
Stepping into the cool air conditioned building, Dean’s eyes caught the entrance sign that indicated which direction each exhibit was located and he nudged Cas towards it. “What do you want to see first?”
Cas’ gaze caught the very first line on the sign and he grinned. “There are sea turtles, Dean. A whole rescue center for them.” Something in Cas’ expression shifted from excited to fond in the blink of an eye; leaving Dean reeling at how expressive Cas was. “It’s nice. That there are people who try to conserve endangered species.”
Dean bumped his shoulder into Cas’, gently directing him towards the sea turtle exhibit. “See? Not all humans are terrible,” he joked.
“No. They’re not,” Cas said, the fondness morphing into something tender as his gaze locked with Dean’s. The moment felt blinding, and Dean had to tear his eyes away before he did something stupid like lean in and kiss Cas right in front of the exhibit.
Instead, Dean shifted the conversation into something lighter. Putting his hand out, he caught Cas’ shoulder and held him back mere feet from the turtles. When Cas gave him a questioning look, Dean moved to tap his nose with his finger. “Take a second. What do you smell?”
Cas tilted his head, sucking in a deep breath before raising an eyebrow at Dean. “Salt water.”
Dean nodded. “Part of the experience is the smell; the salt lingering in the air from the exhibits. Almost makes you feel like you’re right there by the ocean.”
Dean watched as Cas’ eyes fluttered shut as he took another long, slow breath. A little smile graced his lips, and the sight was so simplistic and yet so beautiful Dean momentarily lost his breath. Quickly sneaking out his phone, Dean took a picture; with the turtles in the background and Cas with his eyes closed in a peaceful bliss.
“I like it,” Cas said a moment later, eyes fluttering open as he looked over at Dean. “The atmosphere is peaceful.”
Nodding, Dean nudged Cas to start moving again. “I’m glad. Now let’s go see the turtles.”
Entering into the turtles rescue center, they walked up to one of the large tanks where several turtles gracefully swam by. Cas moved forward, gently pressing his palm to the glass. “They’re beautiful,” he murmured.
“Do you want to sit and watch them? It looks like there might be someone coming to feed them if you want to stay for that?” Dean asked.
“I’d love to,” Cas said, letting Dean lead him to a bench just a couple of feet away.
They sat down together, watching as the turtles elegantly moved through the water. It was captivating and mesmerizing; both watching the turtles glide through the water, but also watching Cas watching the turtles.
“Tell me something. About turtles, I mean,” Dean said, bumping Cas’ knee with his own.
“Their species is 110 million years old,” Cas said wistfully, as if he were picturing the moment when sea turtles first came into existence. “They don’t have any teeth,” he said, nodding his head to the tank where several jellyfish and crabs were being fed to the turtles. “Their mouth is made of keratin, like your fingernails, which helps to break down the plants and small animals that they eat.”
“They really are elegant,” Dean said, pressing his shoe up against Cas’ and offering him a smile.
Cas nodded, his eyes darting back and forth between the turtles and Dean. “They were some of my favorite creatures made for the ocean.” Cas lapsed into silence for a few moments, his gaze caught on a cluster of turtles that swam up to the surface to take a breath.
Dean let the pause linger, but instead of watching the turtles, he spent his time watching Cas. He cataloged the serene expression on Cas’ face and committed it to memory. It was a pleased contentment that Dean wanted to see Cas experience over and over again.
After several minutes of watching the turtles swim around and waddle their way up onto a sandy ledge, Cas bumped their knees together. “What’s next?”
“You tell me,” Dean said. “What do you want to see?”
“Fish. Any fish,” he paused, “The fish from that movie you’ve talked about before.”
Dean laughed, tipping his head back and letting a bubbling feeling of happiness wrap around his heart. “You mean Finding Nemo?”
“That’s it. Show me fish from Finding Nemo,” Cas said, getting up from the bench and offering his hand to Dean.
Dean let his fingers wrap around Cas’ wrist as Cas pulled him to his feet, and a spark of longing cascaded down his spine. Before he could linger on the feeling for too long, Cas had let go and was moving towards the nearest sign with arrows to the major exhibits.
“It says fish exhibits are this way,” Cas said, already moving towards the tunnel he’d indicated. Except it wasn’t just a tunnel. A large tank wrapped around the walkway, giving a massive overhead view of several sharks and fishes as they stepped into the passage.
“Wow,” Cas breathed out, tilting his head back so he could watch as a blacktip shark swam over their heads. They paused in the corridor, watching as a school of fish darted overhead just seconds after the shark had passed. “I’ve never seen anything like this before,” Cas whispered.
There was something about Cas’ earnest awe that made Dean want to surprise him over and over again. “Do you like it?” Dean asked, stepping to the side as a family moved past them.
“I do,” Cas replied, happy and carefree.
And then they were moving again; past the sharks and into several rooms filled with tanks of colorful fish. From sea bass to minnows, and rockfish to flounders; they spent a vast amount of time looking at each exhibit of fish. Dean specifically found tanks filled with clownfish and blue tangs, explaining the plot of Finding Nemo even though he knew Cas already knew the movie.
The exhibits transitioned from fish into invertebrates and other sea creatures; crabs and lobsters, jellyfish and urchins, eels to octopi. Cas was fascinated by every animal they saw.
But Dean’s favorite part was the knowledge Cas shared. At every single exhibit, Dean pointed at a fish and asked, “Tell me something about this one.” And, without fail, Cas instantly told Dean a unique fact or detail about whichever animal Dean had pointed at. Dean stopped looking at the signs next to each tank, instead turning and asking Cas what each species was. No matter how many times Dean asked, Cas gave him the same beautifully fond smile as he detailed every fish they saw.
By the time they’d made their way through all of the tanks, Dean swore he could write and direct his own nature series on sea creatures with all the information Cas had shared.
“Alright, now we’ve seen the fish, are you ready for the best part of any aquarium trip?” Dean asked as they stepped back out into the main entryway of the building.
“There’s something better than seeing the fish?” Cas asked, tilting his head questioningly.
Dean chuckled, nudging Cas towards another corridor while deliberately blocking the signpost from view so that he could surprise Cas. “Oh, trust me, you’re gonna enjoy this.”
Guiding Cas past tanks of coral and kelp, they walked out into a large enclosure. People lingered around a massive pool in the center of the room; children screaming and giggling and the sounds of splashing water echoing around the walls.
“Welcome,” Dean said, gesturing widely with his arms, “To the interactive touchpool.”
“The what?” Cas asked, squinting at Dean in shock.
“Touchpool, Cas. It’s where you can actually put your hand in the water and touch the creatures. I thought you’d like to physically interact with some of the animals. If you want?”
Cas pulled in a sharp breath, his eyes flitting to the large pool before darting back to Dean in awe. “What animals are there?”
“Why don’t we go find out?” Dean said, guiding Cas to the sink area so they could both wash their hands before directing them to an open spot along the wall of the exhibit. Rolling his sleeve up, Dean motioned for Cas to do the same. Then he dipped his fingertips into the water, and watched as Cas copied his motions.
Reaching out, Dean’s fingers brushed over a sea star and he chuckled quietly. “C’mere,” he said, moving his hand through the water until he bumped against Cas. Linking their fingers together, Dean guided their joined hands down until Cas’ palm was pressed against the sea star.
“Oh.” Cas’ surprise hung in the air between them as he leaned his weight into Dean’s side. Pressed together against the rocky edge of the exhibit, Dean swore he never wanted to let go. But Cas deserved to experience what it felt like to touch these creatures. Loosening his hold on Cas’ wrist until he was just barely brushing their hands together, Dean felt Cas’ hand move slowly over the top of the sea star, as if he were memorizing every hard bump of the spines along its body. “It’s not what I expected, even though I know every molecule they’re made of. It feels… leathery,” Cas said, tilting his head carefully as he gently traced his fingers over the starfish for a second time.
Dean gave Cas another minute to interact with the sea star before he slipped his fingers across the back of Cas’ hand and carefully guided him again. “How does this feel?” he asked as he lowered Cas’ hand down gently towards an anemone.
Cas let out another little gasp, hand jerking back slightly at the texture before he touched it again. “Gelatinous. Like jello,” Cas said with a laugh, fingers tracing over the flower-like structure.
Shifting away slightly to put some space between them, Dean moved to pull his hand away, but Cas instantly followed him until he pressed their hands together again. Their fingers interlocked under the rippling water, and Dean felt his breath stutter out of his lungs.
“Show me something else,” Cas said, voice almost drowned out by the loud sounds all around them.
Pulling in a sharp breath, Dean kept their hands linked together as he took a step to the side; waiting for Cas to follow him. He watched carefully as the stingray moved along the floor of the exhibit, and as it approached them, he directed Cas’ hand down until his palm slid down the stingray's back.
“What does the stingray feel like?” Dean asked, words sticking in his throat as the overwhelming sensations sparked between them.
“Smooth. Almost sleek and silky,” Cas said, voice dropping into something breathy in awe. Cas’ hand lingered against the stingray, fingertips stroking over it’s skin before Dean shifted their joined hands down onto the bottom of the tank.
“Let it move over your hand,” Dean said, shifting his hold on Cas until he was gripping around Cas’ wrist.
The stingray rippled over Cas’ hand as it swam along the floor, and Cas let out a startled laugh. “It tickles,” he said, leaning his weight back into Dean again until his hip bumped against Dean’s. They remained that way for several long seconds as the stingray moved over Cas’ hand and continued on its way down the length of the pool.
Dean cast his eyes from the water up to Cas, and their gazes locked for a heart-pounding moment. An unspoken thing passed between them, and Cas momentarily flipped his hand until his palm brushed against Dean’s palm. There was a rush of water that moved around their hands at the motion, but Dean swore he could feel the heat from Cas’ hand radiating up into his.
Movement from a large gray fish broke Dean from the trace and he tipped Cas’ hand palm down again as the fish swam past.
“Fish,” Dean said.
“Sturgeon,” Cas clarified as his fingers grazed along the bony spines of its back until it’s whiskers tickled over the pads of his fingers. “It’s smooth because it doesn't have any scales, but also bony where the cartilage creates these projections.”
Nodding, Dean glided their hands through the water again until they brushed against the sharp roughness of coral.
“It’s different, right? Focusing all your senses on the way something feels,” Dean said quietly.
Cas nodded, letting Deans’ fingers slide into the gaps between his own again. “I’ve never experienced anything quite like it,” Cas said, words whispered reverently between them. And then, said even more quietly, “I remember watching the evolution of these creatures; watching one of the fish climb onto the shore and another angel telling me not to step on that fish because there were big plans for it. I wish I’d known then.”
“Known what?” Dean asked, a sudden lump forming in his throat.
“How beautiful fish could be, and what it was truly like to see them and touch them,” Cas responded, letting Dean maneuver them as another stingray floated through the water right underneath their hands.
Dean tilted his head, watching the way Cas’ expressions shifted from amazement to surprise and delight.
“Do you want to stay here for a little while? We can see if there’s any other creatures on the other side of the pool that you can interact with?”
The smile that Cas gave him was so bright Dean swore it rivaled the sun. “I’d like that very much.”
Letting go of Cas’ hand and stepping away from the water felt like Dean had left a part of himself behind on the edge of the pool. But when they’d found a new spot on the opposite end of the exhibit, Cas’ hand instantly found Dean’s underwater.
They spent an hour at the touchpool interacting with the creatures, but Dean wasn’t paying attention to the animals anymore. All he could focus on was the way Cas’ hand fit perfectly with his own, and how Cas kept their fingers intertwined the entire time. Dean never wanted the moment to end; Cas pressed against him, babbling excitedly about how everything felt, as if they had all the time in the world to linger right there at the edge of the glistening water.
~
Dusk had fallen by the time they left the aquarium. Walking back to the car, Dean felt drunk on happiness with the tingling sensation of Cas’ fingers still lingering against his hand. Part of him wanted to reach out and grasp Cas’ hand again, but without the pretense of the water, Dean hesitated and the moment slipped by.
But the day had been good; better than anything Dean could’ve hoped for. In all the time he’d known Cas, Dean swore he’d never seen Cas laugh and smile so much.
By the time they climbed back into the Impala, Cas was hiding a yawn behind his hand, automatically dropping his head to rest against the door.
“I think that’s enough excitement for one day. Ready to find a motel and get some sleep?” Dean asked.
Cas’ tired eyes found Dean’s in the muted light from the streetlight above them, and he gave Dean a soft nod. Despite the exhaustion, Dean could still see the etches of happiness lingering in Cas’ expression. Something churned in Dean’s stomach at the sight and he reached out, resting his hand briefly on Cas’ knee with a gentle squeeze.
“Dean,” Cas said, voice infused with affection.
The tenderness was almost too much to bear, and Dean cast his eyes out to the road as they pulled out of the parking lot. “Sap,” he muttered back to Cas, catching the little fond smile on Cas’ face at the light teasing.
Once they were back on the road, Cas closed his eyes and tipped his head back against the door again. Dean noticed, and quickly he fumbled one handed to grab one of his spare jackets from the backseat. He nudged it into Cas’ lap, nodding his head towards the door. “Better to use a jacket as a pillow.”
“Thank you, Dean,” Cas murmured thickly, scrunching the jacket up and nestling it between his head and the door. Another surge of fondness surged up to wrap around Dean’s lungs, and he forced himself to focus on driving instead of watching Cas drift off to sleep with his head pillowed on his jacket.
It took almost half an hour of driving to find a motel that had any vacancy- why the last 3 were all full was a surprising feat that Dean had rarely encountered- and Dean was tempted to let Cas sleep the rest of the night tucked up in the passenger seat, but he knew from experience that it was more comfortable to drag his exhausted ass into a motel room than to get neck ache from sleeping against the car door. As softly as he could, Dean nudged Cas’ shoulder.
Cas’ eyes immediately fluttered open, Dean’s name on his lips as he catalogued their surroundings with sleepy blinks.
“Hey buddy. Are you ready to get out of the car and get some sleep in a bed?” Dean prompted, keeping his tone gentle in the peaceful darkness of the car.
“Yeah, okay,” Cas said, scrubbing his eyes with the back of his hand.
God. The sight was ridiculously cute. Dean’s heart kicked up against his chest, and he forced himself to open the door and step out into the cool night air before he reached out and brushed his hand through Cas’ messy hair. “I’ll go get us checked in.”
He waited until he saw Cas nod before he made his way to the front desk.
A young man looked up as the bell above the door dinged, and the smell of musty haze hit Dean as he stepped into the building.
“Single room with two queens, please,” Dean said, stepping up to the counter.
The man made a face, shaking his head as he dropped a key in front of Dean. “Sorry, dude. I’ve got one room left with one bed. There’s a convention in town and everywhere is booked for miles.”
Well shit. Dean cast his eyes outside to Cas, who was leaning against the hood of the Impala with his shoulders hunched as if he were barely keeping himself standing upright. They were both tired, and searching for another motel when there was a room here felt unnecessarily complicated. They could share a bed, right? It was just for one night. Cas wouldn’t mind, would he?
“Yeah, alright, we’ll take it,” Dean said, lungs suddenly constricting in his chest at the thought of lying inches away from Cas. “Thanks.” Picking up the key, Dean made his way back out to the Impala where Cas had stacked their bags on the curb by his feet.
“Hope you don’t mind sharing,” he said, bending down to grab his overnight bag. “They only had one room left with just one bed.”
“Okay,” Cas said, simple and easy. But was that… was that a smile? Why was Cas smiling about sharing a bed? Surely he wouldn’t want to be crammed up next to Dean after they’d spent all day in each other’s pockets. “I’m following you.”
Shaking his head, Dean hummed vaguely and followed the signs down to their room. Nudging open the door, Dean dumped his bag on the little table by the window. “You can go ahead and take a shower first if you want?”
Cas smiled, tired yet genuine. “Are you sure?”
Nodding, Dean gestured towards the bathroom. “Go for it. I’m just gonna check in on Sam and see how he’s doing.”
“Thank you, Dean.”
Dean watched Cas disappear into the bathroom, and his chest ached as the yearning wrapped thickly around his lungs. God. Any hopes Dean had of this trip dampening his feelings had quickly flown out the window. The ache was even deeper now, and the thought of sharing a bed with Cas all night was more than Dean could handle.
Stepping back outside, Dean sucked in a sharp lungful of air. He really was in trouble now. Calling Sam didn’t seem to distract Dean at all; especially because Sam had nothing exciting to report other than the fact he’d been doing some inventory work around the bunker.
A cold shower would help to tamper down the yearning… well, it would’ve if Dean hadn’t seen Cas emerge from the bathroom in a soft pair of pajama pants and one of Dean’s old tshirts that he’d given to Cas a couple months ago.
Shit. Dean was well and truly smitten.
Cas tugged the blankets around himself as he curled up on the left side of the bed, and Dean felt his heart lurch in his chest. Soft. That was the best word he could find to describe how Cas looked. Hair still damp and flopped across his forehead with a faded maroon shirt highlighting Cas’ tan. The sleepy look in Cas’ eyes was enough to have Dean melting into the floor.
“I’ll be- uh, be right back,” Dean said, locking himself into the bathroom as his heart thundered against his ribs.
There was no escaping the feeling.
By the time Dean made his way back into the room, he expected Cas to be asleep. But instead he was propped up against the headboard and he smiled at Dean the second he saw him. Dean hesitated for a moment at the edge of the bed, before pulling back the covers and climbing in on the other side.
Cas instantly shifted so he was facing Dean, offering him another tired smile. “Today was good. Really good,” he murmured quietly.
Dean felt himself relax into the mattress; tilting until he was lying face to face with Cas. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Cas replied. They lapsed into silence for a few moments before Cas admitted, “I didn’t know it could be like that.”
Dean raised an eyebrow in the faint light coming from the single lamp on Cas’ side of the bed, waiting for Cas to clarify what he meant.
“That the simple things in life could be so beautiful,” Cas said after a moment, as if he’d been looking for the right words to describe what he was feeling. “I don’t know what…” Cas paused, tilting his head until his cheek was pressed into the pillow. “I’ve never really known what happiness is. But I think this is what it looks like; what it feels like.”
The words hovered between them, heavy in their confession and yet light in their tone.
“You’re happy?” Dean whispered, barely able to get his voice to escape past his lips.
Cas smiled, gummy and soft, and it was the most beautiful smile Dean had ever seen. “Really, really happy,” Cas said, fingers tugging lightly at the blanket he’d wrapped himself in.
The words settled like honey in Dean’s veins, and he felt himself smile right back at Cas. God, why was he feeling so sappy and why did he want to do anything to keep that smile on Cas’ face?
“Wanna talk about plans for tomorrow? I’ve got another idea you might enjoy that’s on the way back home,” Dean said. The idea had wiggled its way into his head while he’d been brushing his teeth, and he had a feeling it would make Cas smile even more when he suggested it.
“Yeah?” Cas asked, echoing the same tone Dean had used just a couple minutes ago.
“Botanical garden. There’s one on the other side of Kansas City that’s famous for blooming flowers this time of year. I thought you might like to see some of the beauty of nature,” Dean said.
A smitten look crossed Cas’ face; his eyes softening into something extremely tender and affectionate. And then he was leaning across the pillow into Dean’s space. When their lips met, it was the softest brush Dean had ever felt in his life.
Cas pulled back with a little sigh of an exhale, and then dove back in to press their mouths together again. This kiss was even warmer and slower; Cas pressing his body against Dean and Dean wrapping his arms around Cas’ waist to coax him closer.
They broke the kiss with little gasps before closing the gap to kiss again. Cas’ nose brushed against Dean’s, nuzzling delicately, before his fingertips grazed along Dean’s jaw.
Dean’s heart ached in his chest as Cas peppered several quick butterfly pecks against his lips before lingering on the next kiss. Everything seemed to slow down around them, until all of Dean’s senses were overwhelmed with the touch and taste of Cas.
Somehow, Dean had always pictured that kissing Cas would be like an electrical storm; crackling and fizzling and bursting with desperation to make things deeper. But this… this was the most delicate and romantic kiss Dean had ever experienced in his life. Soft and simple; just gentle caresses of their lips melding together with little happy hums.
Cas tilted his head and Dean followed the movement, sliding his hand under the hem of Cas’ tshirt until he was tracing little patterns along Cas’ hip. Each kiss felt like Dean was going to melt into the mattress as Cas huffed a tiny breath against his cheek before kissing him again.
God.
It was so good Dean just couldn’t get enough.
When Cas pulled back with a stuttering breath, Dean chased him, free hand coming up to cup Cas’ cheek as he brushed their noses together again before seeking out Cas’ lips in another kiss.
Quiet little pleased sounds filled the air with the tickle of lips teasing against each other. Cas’ hands had found their way into Dean’s hair, and Dean had all but tugged Cas forwards until he was lying across Dean’s chest. Fast kisses morphed into slow tangible dances as their mouths learned what it felt like to be slotted together.
By the time Dean finally pulled back, resting his forehead against Cas’, he was absolutely breathless and his heart was milliseconds from catapulting out of his chest with how fast it was beating.
“What was that for?” Dean whispered, tracing his fingertips from Cas’ hip to the small of his back.
“Because you’re absolutely… Dean, you’re just… indescribable,” Cas murmured, lips ghosting over Dean’s cheek. “I’ve wanted to kiss you all day. You make me happier than I’ve ever been in my entire existence.”
Something in Dean’s chest burned warm and pleasant through his veins, lighting his heart on fire. This whole time, Cas had felt the same way he did. God. He’d have kissed Cas breathless over those chocolate pancakes had he known that Cas wanted it, too.
Cas tucked himself more comfortably against his side, and Dean looped his arms loosely around Cas’ back.
“Dean,” Cas whispered, breath tickling along Dean’s neck.
“Hm?” Dean hummed quietly.
“Kiss me again.”
This time it was just sleepy little brushes; lips ever-so-softly coming together in chaste touches as they kissed. When Cas pulled back, he muttered something about the botanical gardens and how happy he was. The words were muffled into the collar of Dean’s shirt, and Dean felt the shift as Cas drifted off to sleep in his arms.
When sleep finally caught up to Dean after he spent several long minutes committing this perfect day to his memory, it was with the taste of Cas still lingering against his lips and the feel of Cas’ body pressed against his own.

2021: Writing Year in Review
In 2021, I wrote just over 300k words. This was the first year my original writing count greatly outweighed my fic wordcount, largely because I finished one novel draft and started a second (unrelated). About 4/5 of my words were original writing.
Fic-wise it was another multi-fandom year for me. I wrote fics for 7 fandoms! The brand new ones for me this year included Lucifer (which I mainlined over the course of 4 weeks right before the second half of season 5 dropped), Shadow and Bone, and Wandavision.
My favorite fics I wrote this year were:
Fiat Lux (and Chocolate) - a crossover where Eddie Brock goes to Lux in Los Angeles and interviews Lucifer Morningstar because the moment I thought of it, I had to write it!
Still Driving - what will likely be my last Supernatural fic, since I think I've finally said all I have to say about it; but this particular fic was one last late season 4 Sam POV, my very favorite season of Sam.
Oh God, You Devil - written before season 6 aired, this fic runs with the premise of Lucifer as God, and yeah, that was really fun to imagine.
Under the cut are all 14 fics I posted in 2021 grouped by fandom:
Venom (movies)
Fiat Lux (and Chocolate) - Eddie Brock goes to Lux in Los Angeles for an interview with Lucifer Morningstar, and Venom is hungry for chocolate.
Life Is a Honeymoon - Eddie and Venom in bed at the hotel on the beach.
Like Algae for Chocolate - Missing scene with Mrs. Chen and Venom from Venom Let There Be Carnage
+ 2 mystery fics written for the Venom Holiday Exchange 2021 (reveals tomorrow, I'll update the list then!)
Lucifer (tv)
Fiat Lux (and Chocolate) - crossover with Venom
Oh God, You Devil - Lucifer is God now. It’s what he wanted, and with Chloe by his side, nothing can go wrong. Right?
Imagine Dragons - With Trixie's help, Lucifer creates dragons.
Beelzebub's Patsy - A damned soul in a therapy session with Lucifer.
MCU/Wandavision
A New Life - How Wanda brings Vision back
Shadow and Bone (tv)
Into the Fold - What happens to Aleksander in the Fold, and where he goes after.
Supernatural
Between Hell and the Hunt - Dean's deal is due, but Sam has found a way to save him. He's made a deal with someone else - someone Lilith can't touch.
Still Driving - Dean is driving the car. That’s all he’s doing. He’s got his eyes on the road, and hasn’t spared a glance at Sam for a solid forty minutes.
Sanguinem Sacrificium (co-written with @zara-zee, art by @cassiopeia7 for @frontierlandproductions SPN Season 16): When Jack shook things up in The Afterlife, some things literally shook loose. Hunter turned Vampire Gordon Walker has landed back on the mortal plane and after centuries in Purgatory he’s strong, he’s pissed and he has a plan: Find Sam Winchester and drink the Boy King’s blood.
The Witcher (netflix)
Give to You My Penance - After the adventure with Borch, Téa and Véa, and Geralt's horrid dismissal, Jaskier is on his own—brooding and writing his new song. But it seems the witcher isn't quite done with him yet after all. Jaskier has longed to share Geralt’s saddle for so long, but won't—not until Geralt makes an apology. One grand enough to put all other apologies ever made in the history of man and witcher-kind to shame.

hi!! could i request ellie imagine/headcanon (whatever you want) where her and the reader used to be best friends but got separated for years until they reunite? like maybe the reader shows up in jackson
Tumblr media
Summary: Reuniting with Ellie after being separated for 5 years
A/N: Thanks for the request<3 I had this planned out so well but i got lazy lol, i hope you enjoyed and i added a bit of romance in it cause i’m a whore for this woman wbk (also again i didn’t proof read much so sorry)
Warnings: None
Word count: 3.1k
You weren’t exactly sure where you were, all you knew was there was a town in front of you. Were they friendly? You had no fucking idea but you were exhausted, bloodied and bruised. This could just be a quick rest stop, you had nowhere to be and no one to see so it didn’t really matter much.
“Stop right there!” a voice called out.
“Hey! I’m not here to hurt anyone, I'm just a bit lost and I was hoping i could rest here.” You raised your hands in the air hoping they would just let you sit in peace for a minute.
The man looked you up and down, trying to see if your intentions were good or not. He then whispered down to another man before turning back to you. You were silently praying he let you stay here, you just needed a couple hours.
“Okay, take her to Maria. You can leave your stuff over here.” He said, throwing a signal up. A signal that caused the door to open.
You gave a small smirk of appreciation, so glad they let you in. They led you through the town, you saw how developed and advanced they were. There was running water, food gardens and even electricity. You’ve been around and you’ve never seen anything like this.
They led you into a bar. There was actual food, not just beans that you have been eating for weeks straight. Your mouth was almost watering when you saw the meat and fresh fruits they had been serving.
“Maria, we got a friendly or we think she is.” The man said.
The woman, or Maria, was a tall blonde. She looked no more than 40, if her hair wasn’t greying you’d say she was in her early 30′s. She looked over at the 2 men and then at you, examining you.
“You take her weapons?” She asked, sizing you up. You looked awkwardly between her and the men, her stare terrified you more than any infected out there.
“Yeah, she’s clean.” The man replied.
“Good, i don’t want to have to put a bullet in between your eyes.” She said, your mouth went dry.
She signaled the men to leave and you wanted to go with them, you’ve been in rooms with men much bigger than her and so much more bossier but she terrified the hell out of you. She patted the seat next to her, not even looking over at you.
“You look starved. Seth, get me something for this girl to eat.” She called out, she looked up at you. You tried not to make eye contact. “ What brings you out here.” She leaned closer to you.
“Uh, I was out searching for supplies when some hunters attacked me. They killed my horse and stole some of my supplies, I chased after them but I ended up getting lost.” You explained, she sat there and listened.
A man had brought you food, it was a burger and some fresh carrots. Not a combination you would go for but it didn’t matter, you were starved and you 're not gonna complain. You basically stuffed your mouth full of food, causing Maria to chuckled.
“Well you're safe now, you can stay here as long as you need. Just don’t cause any trouble and we’ll be good.” She started, standing up from the table. “I’ll have someone come show you where you can rest when you get done eating.” She said, giving you a grin.
“Thank you maria, you’ve been so kind to me.” You smirked up at her, mouth full of carrots.
She shook her head and laughed, walking away. You continued to stuff your mouth with food, not caring if you were being impolite. They’ll understand, they’ve all probably been in your situation before.
When your plate was empty, you decided to stay there for a minute. Waiting for the person that Maria sent to you. You looked at all the pretty paintings they had here, pictures of nature and horse, even some photographs of the people of the town.
“I just don’t understand why they didn’t just kill her right then. It would’ve saved them the burden of making 2 more movies.” A voice stuck out to you, it sounded like you heard it before.
You looked over past everyone and saw no one familiar, you did see a girl with auburn hair but that can’t be her, right? You saw her get bit, it couldn’t be. You just turned around, sitting back in your seat.
“Oh hey, can i get a glass of water.” You said, perking up to ask the man who had given you the food.
He gave you a small nod before disappearing into the back. You could really use a glass of wine or whiskey, but you didn’t want to be greedy. You sat back once more, your eyes feeling really heavy. This would be a nice place to live, it’s nice and cozy.
“Ellie, it was the 80′s. They tried to drag out movies as long as they could.” A deeper voice said.
That name, you thought to yourself before snapping your head back to look for the voice. You knew it wasn’t her, she was dead but you had to know who the hell this woman was. You looked at the auburn haired girl once again, trying to get a glimpse of her face.
You watched her closely, studying her movements. She finally turned her head towards the bar, you saw half of her face. She had these freckles and you got a glimpse of her green eyes in the light of the bar. You sunk down in your seat, were you going crazy or is that her.
“are you okay?” A voice said, you looked up to see the man with your water. You nodded.
“Do you see that girl over there?” You asked, he looked over to where you pointed and he nodded. “Who is she?
“That is Ellie Williams, i don’t know much more than that.” The man said, leaving you once again.
Your heart speeds up, pounding at an unbelievable pace. Was it really her? Should you go up to her? What would you even say? ‘hey sorry for leaving you and Riley to die, do you still wanna be friends?’
You sunk lower into your seat, hoping she didn’t see you. Every time you think of her, you see the way she did when she got bit or when she thought she got bit, or if she did get bit and somehow survived. You honestly have no fucking idea how she survived, you saw her get bit.
You had a mental battle with yourself but you came to a conclusion, you were gonna talk to her. You felt so guilty about leaving them so if she beat you up or killed you it would make you somewhat even right?
You slid out of the booth and walked over to her slowly, watching her and the man she was with talk about whatever they were talking about. Every step made your heartbeat a little more faster, ‘if she beats you up, you deserve it.’ you thought to yourself.
There she was standing right in front of you, the man that was with her stared up at you confused about why you were hovering over her. You let out a sigh before you shaky tapped her. She turned around, you saw her full face and you couldn’t believe it was actually her.
“Y/N?” She asked, letting a huge grin show before pulling you into a hug.
You were so confused, why wasn’t she beating you up... you left her to die. You decided to hug back, feeling the warm familiar feeling of her embrace. All the memories of your childhoods together and little did you know 5 years later she would be a stranger to you. She let you go, still holding on to your arms. She looked at you up and down, seeing everything she missed for 5 years.
“Why are you here??” She asked, still smiling
“Uhh, I was attacked and I need a place to stay. so i stumbled on this place.” You replied, giving her a small smile.
“Well,  you can stay here as long as you want. Your always welcomed here.” She grinded
You were really happy to see her. You hadn’t been around other humans in a while so being here with your best friend, being safe again gave you such a rush. You had so many questions to ask her and you're sure she had some too.
“I thought you died?” You blurted out. She just let a low chuckled out and looked at her feet.
“I thought you did too, i heard you got kicked out because of that entire “adventure” we had that day.” She started. “ i thought for sure you would have died out there.”
That was a time you didn’t want to remember, you guys were just kids and they punished you like that. I guess 2 girls go infected that day, or 1 girl you guess.
“Hey! I did pretty good out there, i’m still here aren’t i?” You joked.
She laughed, looking over at the man she was with. He looked amused but confused, ‘you and me both man’ you thought to yourself.
“Y/n, this is joel. He takes care of me I guess.” she said, causing him to nudge her jokingly. “And Joel, this is Y/n. She was my best friend back at that military school I was in. “
You reached your hand out to shake his hand, he looked down at your hand not used to shaking hands much anymore but he reached out your hand and shook it anyways. You smiled up at him, he was intimidating to say the least.
“So you just passing through?” He asked, waiting for an answer.
You didn’t really know honestly, this place was nice and Ellie was here so should you ask to live here or just pass through. You looked over at Ellie and then Joel, Ellie looked so happy.
“Yeah, i was gonna stay a night here before i got back on the road.” You stated, Joel nodded and Ellie's smile dropped a bit. You knew she expected you to stay for good but that’s a really big decision to make at the moment.
“Your staying the night!?” Ellie acted like she couldn’t believe it, causing you to laugh. “You have to stay over at my house! just like the good old days!” She was practically yelling, she didn’t change a bit.

“You live in a garage.” You said, looking around her poster covered walls.
There were paint brushes and paint covering things. There were books upon books of space and comic books, it felt like her room back in Boston. That was the room you both stayed in when you got scared at night, she would always hold you while you shook. It’s the thing you should've done when she got bit, she was so upset.
“You don’t like it.” She asked, plopping down on her bed.
“No, i like it. It’s very...” You paused, picking up the rocket shaped lava lamp. “You.” You finished, setting it down.
She laughed, shaking her head slightly. You walked over to her and plopped down on the bed with her, laying back. You watched the star covered ceiling. She laid back with you, her head right next to you.
You both sat there in a comfortable silence, you had so much to say, you had it all planned out but now that you were here you didn’t know what to say. You thought about all the times you, her and Riley had together. You guys were always in some kind of trouble, always talking back to teachers and just being a pain in everyone’s ass.
“Remember that one time for my 14th birthday when you and Riley made this birthday cake for me.” You asked, smiling at the memory.
“And we accidently set your bed on fire trying to light the candles.” She added, laughing out at the memory.
You laughed with her, throwing your head back. You guys were such assholes back then, it’s so weird how things have changed. You guys were all such good friends and now look where you were. You and Ellie were together, staring up at fake stars in a garage without riley...
You started feeling bad again, it was all so fast. You found someone who you thought was dead and all the memories flying back to you, it made you sick to your stomach. Riley's face, she was so scared but her being so strong tried to cover it up to calm Ellie down. You reached out for ellies hand, something you guys did a lot in her room at night.
“You know, i always think about that night..” she paused, trailing off, thinking about what and how to say this. “That night when you kissed me” She finished.
You remember, how could you forget. It was probably the best and worst day of your life. You had been in her room, just like how you were now. You were holding hands, the rain was heavy on the window. You don’t know how it happened or why you did it but you leaned down and kissed her, she kissed back. That was also the day Riley came back and you saw them both get bit, you saw the marks and you left. No goodbye.
Ellie sat up on her elbows, looking down at you and you up at her. Her hand caressed t’s way down to your thigh, Your body reacted to her touch. As much as you wanted her you couldn’t, you can’t get the image of her face out of your head and it brought so many questions. She leaned down, her lips almost on yours until you pushed her away. You shot up and walked over to the couch before turning to her.
“Did I do s...”
“Why don’t you hate me.”  You interrupted, eyes starting to water a bit.
“Why would i hate you?” She asked, standing up with you.
You paced around a little bit, all the frustration you had was building up. You couldn’t even forgive yourself so why was she pretending it didn’t happen.
“I left you and Riley to die, I freaked out and split. it’s my fault.” Your voice cracked a bit, tears starting to form.
Ellie moved in closer, she didn’t know what to say. In the moment she just believed it wasn’t anyone's fault, things like this just happened; she never blamed you. She knew Riley didn’t either.
“Y/n..” She trailed off, her own tears forming. “It wasn’t your fault and you didn’t leave us there. We told you to leave, you were just doing what we said to do.” She tried to calm you down, placing her hand on your shoulder.
“I should’ve stayed, you two were dying and i left.” You burst into tears, taking a seat on the coffee table in the middle of the room.
Ellie let out a sigh, she didn’t like to remember that day. It was horrible for all of you, she stayed at  the mall for a while after that waiting to turn but she never did. She eventually had to shoot Riley, making that experience 10x worse. She tried to find you but you were gone, so she had no choice but to go to the fireflies.
“It’s okay, we got bit, you weren’t. we wanted you to get out before all of us died.” She tried to calm you down, she would never be mad at you for protecting yourself.
“Even if it wasn’t my fault, you still got bit.” You said, locking her in a place she didn’t want to be. “What the fuck happened, why didn’t you turn.”
A breath got caught in her throat, she wasn’t prepared for that. She knew she would have to tell you at one point but she didn’t know it was going to be so fast. She sat next to you, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“Y/n,” She started. “I'm not supposed to tell anyone but you're my best friend and I trust you.”
She told you everything, every single detail of her immunity. She pulled up her sleeve to show a tattoo covering a bite sized scar. That caused you to cry even harder, if you were to stay in Boston for a little bit longer you could have helped her.  You thought maybe you both meeting again was a sign, a sign of what you had no idea.
“I’m sorry..” you started, placing your hand on her knee. “I’ve always just felt so guilty for living. I thought i should've died with you two and me leaving without even saying goodbye, it made me feel shitty.”
She placed her hand on top of yours, holding it once again. You put your head on her shoulder, more tired than you already had been. From the crying and exhausting memories you could pass out right her.
“I knew it would, you’ve always been such a sap.” She joked.
You punched her playfully, giggling at her dumbass. You both sat there for a minute, taking in the feeling you both felt right now. You were both able to get out everything you felt guilty for and everything you’ve been hiding, it’s been eating at you for years.
“You should stay.” She spoke, breaking the silence. “I mean permanently.” She clarified.
You wanted to but will you two ever be the same, the kiss and the death you felt things have changed. Good or bad change you didn’t know, you just didn’t want to live here and remember Boston every time you looked at her.
“I don't know ellie...” You replied.
You could hear her sigh, she shifted around. She turned to you once more and stared you down. You could feel a whole lecture of why you should stay coming. You were pleasantly surprised when she leaned in once again but this time you leaned in as well. Your lips touched, syncing together. It made your heart pound a mile and minute, you thought at any minute you could have a heart attack. She finally pulled away, smiling at you.
“Was that your way of trying to get me to stay?” You chuckled out, her smile dropped. She knew she couldn’t get you to stay, you were always a loner even in Boston. You caught on to her sadness.
“Cause it worked.” You said before pulling her into another kiss.

Sweet Memories
Trigger Warning: Broken bones; knives; character death mention
Pairing(s): Angus x Bing (septic, not iplier)
Characters: Angus and Bing (S34N but briefly and Henrik is mentioned)
Summary: Bing can't help but look back at sweet memories of Angus. If only he could get him back….
Alright, b***hes. Fluff is over, time to shove angst down your throat. And yes, I’m getting to requests, just had to finish this up first.
6/26/21
__
"There, it should be fixed," Bing told the other android as he moved back. He sat down his tools in his drawers and glanced at S34N. "Please try and break anything else this week. This is the fifth time you needed my help with something."
S34N looked at the Bing-themed android. "I'm sorry. Robbie needed to be looked after, and Henrik asked me to look after him. I'll try and break nothing else why I'm looking after him," He promised the other ego to do the best he could do. "Anyway, I'll be going now, bye." He bowed slightly and left.
Bing just waved and stared out a window. He couldn't help but think back to the memories of a better time. Well, mostly. Angus fell out of a tree and broke his arm.
~*~
"Ow! Bing, it hurts! Don't touch it," Angus screeched in pain as he freed his arm out of his boyfriend's grip. "Are you trying to break it even more?"
Bing quickly shook his head. "No, I'm just trying to see how bad it is, stay still!" Bing managed to keep the hunter still as he examined the broken arm, despite all of Angus's cries. "You seem to have a broken bone around your forearm. We should go and have Henrik look at it."
Angus pouted and shook his head. "Hell no. Da- Henrik is going to lecture me on climbing in trees. I rather not sit and listen through them." He went to yank his arm free but just ended up wincing.
"Nope, we're seeing Henrik, now," Bing stated with determination and began dragging the complaining, pouty hunter off to the hospital.
~*~
Bing chuckled at the memory. Angus ended up getting grounded, and Bing couldn't see him until his arm healed. He secretly wondered if that tree still existed. Of course, it was stupid to even be thinking of that tree....
Bing didn't care. He immediately exited his room and ran down the stairs. He looked around to make sure none of the egos were there to see him do this. Good thing there wasn't. He didn't need anyone to see his and Angus's spot.
The search engine-themed android left the house in a hurry, heading out to the forest that surrounded the house he lived in. He walked through the forest at first but then began running, wanting to their secret spot badly.
After a few minutes, he reached his destination. It was a small, grass clearing with a patch of bring yellow sunflowers sprouting from the ground. In the center of the patch was a big weeping willow. Despite how the tree was blocking out light for most of the sunflowers, the patch still looked healthy.
Bing felt happiness when he saw that the tree still stood right at their spot. He remembered when Angus first brought him there.
~*~
"I want to show you something," Angus told his friend, getting Bing's attention. "There is a place near my cabin I want you to see. I promise it's worth it."
Bing titled his head. "Is it safe? I mean, I trust you, but you didn't exactly have safe places to go when you lived in your cabin." He got slightly closer to the hunter, looking into his eyes just to see if he should trust him.
Angus nodded. "Yeah, it is safe. Close your eyes though, I want it to be a surprise," He begged the android, giving him puppy eyes on purpose. He just wanted to show Bing something cool.
Bing bit his lip before he nodded. "Alright, but if I get broken or anything, I'm taking your jacket and burning it," He warned the other. He closed his eyes, letting the other guide him through the forest. He really did trust Angus.
They soon came to a stop, and the sounds of footsteps going from behind to in front of him indicated Angus was probably standing ahead of him. "Alright, you can look."
Bing slowly opened his eyes and looked at the area, a hand covering his mouth in pure awe. "Did you.... Did you plan these flowers?"
Angus shook his head. "They grew here before I came along, but every year, I make sure they continue to grow here." He smiled at the fact he made his friend surprised. "Do you like it?"
Bing nodded and hugged his friend, looking at the area as he nuzzled the human. He hoped they would come back here often.
~*~
Bing slowly approached the patch of sunflowers and sat near the tree, looking around. He wondered if Angus was still alive, would he still like this area? Or would he moved onto a different place for them to hang out at?
Either way, Bing knew he would want them to hang out here. He loved this spot and it's beauty, even if Angus was no longer here....
Bing suddenly felt very alone and wrapped his arms around his legs as he curled up. This spot normally brought the android closure, and now it's making him feel alone. He wanted to leave, but a voice in his head made him stay.
The android looked around, thinking of a possible reason to stay here and enjoy the hang out alone. When he thought of none, he stood up. Perhaps he could see if the cabin still exists. He remembered when he first seen it.
~*~
Bing looked at the old, mostly worn out cabin. "This is where you lived before Jackie found you? Isn't this unsafe for humans?" He took a few steps towards the cabin, immediately backing away when he heard a loud creak.
"It isn't unsafe, I promise," Angus told the android, taking his hand. "I've lived there for three years, it's perfectly fine." He gently began to lead his android lover inside. "Just watch your step, okay?" He opened the door slowly and let Bing inside first.
Bing looked at Angus before he entered the cabin. He looked around and realized it was quite odd for a cabin.
There was animal pelt laid all over the floor, one of a bear and another of a deer. On top of the bear pelt was a chair made out of wood with animal furs placed onto to possibly make it more comfortable.
The walls held hand-crafted hunting tools, like spears and bows along with arrows. There was a also hunting knives, varityping in sizes, a hand-crafted axe, more than likely used to get wood.
Angus held a shelf that kept food hung beside the hunting tools, but strangely, it had no meat. It only held non-poisonous mushrooms, bugs, and a few vegetables.
There was a handcrafted bed with once again, animal fur to make it more cosy and warm for when winter comes. The bed also contained attempts of pillows using what looked like cotton stuffed in fur pelts.
"You lived like this," Bing questioned as he looked at the one-room cabin. "This.... Don't come back and live here, please. You shouldn't live back in this environment."
Angus looked at the android with a confused look but sure enough, he nodded. He wasn't going to if that's what Bing wanted.
~*~
Bing slowly approached the cabin. It was still old and unsafe looking, but it was worse than ever now. The door was wide open, banging against the wood when the wind blew by.
The android gulped. Maybe he shouldn't go inside to see if it's all still in there, but of course, curiosity got the better of him. He slowly headed up the stairs and entered the cabin.
Well.... It wasn’t that bad for being left to sit for almost 5 years. The shelf of food Angus once ate was hand one end, the fur on his bed and chair were all floor, and the chair was broken into pieces.
Bing frowned for the reasons only he would know. Angus seemed to love living here, and now it was in ruin. If his boyfriend saw this, he was certain he would be upset over it.
There was another reason he frowned however. This was the place Angus died. Oh he could still hear Angus’s cries in pain and pleas not to be forgotten as he hugged Henrik….
No. Now isn’t the time to think about that. What was done has been done and can’t be reversed, even if he didn’t like who was taken from him, even if he cried nights after the death, and even if he still secretly wished it was him who had died.
Bing had enough of this place; He shouldn’t have come here, now was the time to leave. As he went to leave, he heard something fall. He came to stop and turned around, looking for what fell.
His eyes stopped their search when he found the object in question. It was a piece of paper rolled around a pencil, making Bing tilt his head. He glanced around just in case before he walked over to the paper.
The android quickly unrolled the paper and read it. “It’s not your fault, Sunflower,” was written on it, and the hand writing…. It was very close Angus’s. Both of these things were enough to freak him out.
Just when Bing thought it couldn’t get worse, he heard something- or someone- exit the cabin very quickly, as if it were afraid to be caught. Bing glanced at the being as fast as he could, only catching sight of a person in dark orange hoodie and black jeans as well as black hunting boots- Angus’s clothes. He couldn’t see any features of the person sadly as he only got a back profile when they exited.
The android stood up immediately and headed outside, chasing after it. Unfortunately, as soon as he got out of the cabin, the person was gone, and Bing was once again alone.

The Last of Us Part 2 (Joel x Reader)
Chapter 6: Seattle, Day 1
Chapter 5
Tumblr media
"This hunter was on top of him...drowning him. And...Joel couldn't reach for his gun." Ellie said to Dina as we rode on our horses through the luscious forest. Her and Dina were riding Shimmer and I was riding my own horse, Dixie. "Jeez...were you scared?" Dina asked her. "Well, I didn't even think, I just...ran in there, grabbed his gun and...shot the guy in the face before (y/n) could do anything." Ellie said.
"How old were you?" Dina asked her, curiously. "Fourteen. How old were you when you first killed someone?" Ellie asked her. "We talking infected?" Dina asked. "No. Fully conscious non-fungal person." Ellie said. "Ten." Dina replied and I look at her in shock.
"Ten years old? What happened?" I asked her. "Guy was coming at my mom and I stabbed him." She replied. "Shit." Ellie mutters, shocked. "Damn." I said. "What about you, (y/n)?" Dina asked. "My first human kill?" I asked and she nods.
"It was a few months after the outbreak. Joel and I were out scavenging when a group of these assholes jumped us at this old store. Two of the men pinned Joel down while one of the men grabbed me and started dragging me towards this back room." I said and both girls give me scared look. "The man shut the door and...I was beyond terrified and I didn't know what to do. The next thing I knew, the guy was trying to get on top of me and tries to hold me down. I grabbed his knife and stabbed him, repeatedly. Eventually, Joel came in the room, along with Tommy who showed up and helped Joel out, and both of them saw what I did to the guy. Myself, the walls and the floor were covered in that man's blood."
"How old were you?" Ellie asked me. "I was twenty-four or twenty-five." I said and we continued trotting on through the forest. "So Dina still got us beat." I said, smirking, and Dina scoffs, playfully, at this. "Yeah, I'm a real badass." She said, sarcastically.
"What about those crazy cannibals you guys ran into? They came after you guys once, maybe the WLF are connected to them?" Dina suggested but Ellie shakes her head. "No. It didn't seem like the same group." She said.
"Maybe this is black market smugglers back in Boston?" Dina asked. "Something you should know about me and Joel, Dina, is that we crossed alot of people during the twenty years before we arrived in Jackson. It could just be about anybody, so we should stop guessing...until we get more information and get Joel out of there." I said and Dina nods.
"Guys, look! Cars!" Dina said, pointing at some abandoned cars. "Yeah, we're getting close." I said and a few moments later, we come up to this old highway. "This way." I said and we continue onwards. "Sure seems quiet." Dina points out. "Yeah. Think about how well we hide our lookouts." Ellie replied and I nod. "I know. That's what scares me." said Dina then we come up to a an old large quarantine zone gate.
"Whoa! Is that the QZ?" Dina asked. "Yup." Ellie and I replied. "Watch the high spots." I warned and we got close to the gate to see something spray painted on the door. "WLF. Trespassers killed on site." Dina reads. "That's friendly." She remarks, sarcastically.
"At least we know we're in the right place." I said as we dismount our horses. "Where is everyone?" Ellie asked. "They put up this sign...means there's gotta be a way in." I said and we started to look around. Then we climbed on top of an old trailer then over some holding calls.
"Are those cages?" Dina asked as we walked on top of them. "Holding cells. Soliders used them back in Boston as well." I replied. "Guys! Help me up here." Ellie said as she stands next to a broken ladder. Dina and I go over to her and help her up to the ladder. "Ellie, be careful." I said to her and she nods as she climbs up and Dina and I make our way back down to the front gate.
We get back on solid ground and I could see Ellie running across some old walkway then she jumps over to an old scaffolding. As she jumps towards it, she barely makes it as she grabs onto the side. "Ellie!" I called out, fearfully, as she climbs up on the platform. "I'm okay!" She calls out and I sigh with relief and she makes her way over the large gate.
After while, I heard the hum of a generator and the sound of a gate opening so I walk over to the little eye-level door and called out to Ellie. The little door opens and I could see her on the other side. "Everything okay?" I asked her. "Yeah, I got that gate opened." She said as she points off to the side. "Now I gotta figure out this one now." She said and I nod. "Okay." I said and she walks off and I step back then turn to Dina.
"C'mon, let's grab the horses." I said and we go over to Shimmer and Dixie and bring them closer to the gate, just as it starts to open. We walk through it as I see Ellie in one of the control panel trailers. "Well done!" I shouted when I heard something then a loud slam right behind us. I turn and see that the gate had slammed shut and the horses started to buck a bit.
"Come on. Let's get outta here." I said. "Yeah, that crash was pretty loud." Dina said and we mount our horses and make our way through. "Now what?" Dina asked. "I found a note back there...it had some codes on it. Says there's a WLF safe house in someplace called Serevena Base." Ellie replied. "So we find this place and hopefully find our first WLF, get them to talk and go from there." I said and they nod at me. "I also found a map to this place." She said. "Good. We can found our way around here." I said.
"Oh shit, look!" Dina said, after a few minutes of going through some parts of Seattle. I look over and see her pointing ahead of us, so I follow where she's pointing and see an old building with the sign Serevena Hotel. "That's got to be it." I said as we come up to another gate. We dismount our horses and Ellie goes up to the key code.
She goes to push some buttons but nothing happens and I turn around to see a generator. "Hey! Looks like it might need power." I said as I go over to the generator and pull the string, which turned some power on. "Still got some juice." I said, smiling, then Ellie punches in the code.
We make it back to the horses and go through the gate. "Well, no welcoming committee." Ellie said as she gets back in Shimmer. "Or they're just waiting for us." Dina said. "Possibly." I muttered and we make our way to the hotel.
"Look! Wolf! WLF, I get it now." Dina said as she points at this large banner on the side of the building. "Oh yeah." Ellie said, chuckling a bit, as we make it up to the fence up area of the hotel. Then we saw an infected get on top of a dumpster and hop the fence as we dismount the horses again. "Did you see that?" Dina asked and I nod and I wait for any gunshots but nothing.
"That's odd. Should've heard gunshots by now." I said, confused. "Well, at least we know how to get in." Ellie said and we get up and over the fence then, quietly, make our way towards the hotel.
Inside were some infected, including at least two or three gathered around close together. The three of us make our way into the building and take out these infected.
"I think that's all of them." Ellie said once we took them out. Dina and I nod then I go over to see a fresh body of someone from the WLF. "This one's fresh." I pointed out and I stand up. "Here's another one. This one's been shot." Ellie said a few feet away and I go over to her.
"Recognize any of them?" I asked her. "No." She replied and we start to make our way upstairs. We looked around the rooms for any supplies when I heard Dina exclaimed. "Oh shit!"
Ellie and I make our way over to her and enter thr room she opened. Inside was a dead man tied to chair and it seemed he didn't go out peaceful as he looked he got the shit beaten out of him and then killed. "The fuck happened here?" Dina asked, shocked, as I raise the man's head and examine his wounds.
Immediately, I knew what this was, I've seen this kind've stuff before.
"Tommy did this." I said. "This? No way." Dina said, disbelief, while Ellie looks at the man. "(Y/n), I recognize him! He was one of the ones who kidnapped Joel." Ellie said as I look over at her then I see there was another body tied to a chair, but he was knocked down on his side and a code was written on the floor with the man's blood.
"Yeah, Tommy definitely did this." I muttered then I turn to Ellie. "Was he one of them?" I asked her and she shakes her head.
"How do you know for certain Tommy did this?" Dina asked me. "Because he used them against each other. It's a form of interrogation Joel, Tommy and I used alot. See, you ask this guy a question...you don't make him say it, you make him write it down. Then you ask the other guy, and if the facts match, they're telling the truth." I explained and Dina gives me a horrified look. "If not..."
"You fuck 'em up." Dina finished for me and I nod. Ellie kneels down then pulls out the map and looks at what the man wrote on the floor. "East one...you think it's a code?" Dina asked us. "Looks like it." Ellie said and she gets up and puts the map away.
"This looks like it just happened. He can't be far off." Dina said and I nod again then the three of us make our way out of the hotel.
"Hey (y/n), I know you said that you, Joel and Tommy had a rough past but...fuck." Dina said, shocked and disbelief, and I frown at her once we make our way out of the hotel. "I know. You okay, though right?" I asked her and she sighs. "It wasn't pretty." She said.
"I don't want you to think bad of us..." I started to explain but Dina talks over me. "(Y/n)...if I had my sister's killers tied to a chair...I'd do worse." She said and I give her a sympathetic look to her. "I hear you." I said and we get onto the horses and make our way to the East one gate.
"You girls, remember the code?" I asked them as I make my way to the generator. "You mean the one written in blood?" Dina asked and Ellie and I nod at her. I start up the generator and Dina puts in the code and the gate opens.
"Big question. Where does this take us?" Dina asked us as we get back on the horses. "Guess we'll find out." Ellie said and we galloped through the gate. "I say we find shelter, and we set up camp. Maybe somewhere high up so we can scope out the area." Dina said. "I like that idea." Ellie said and I nod in agreement as we continued on.
But, suddenly, as we jumped over this little barbed wire fence, it exploded and the three of us were launched off of our horses. I landed on my side as Ellie landed on her front and Dina fell on her back then rolled off somewhere. I groan in pain, my ears ringing, just as I hear muffled voices behind us.
"Get the other! Don't lose her! Go!" A man's voice said then I see about two or three guys go after Dina. "Dina!" Ellie calls out just as we heard Shimmer and Dixie screech in pain. I try my best to get up just in time to see a guy come up and shoot the horses, point blank.
Ellie starts to crawl towards her gun as I start to sit up but then another man comes up towards me. I try to fight the man back but he takes the butt of his gun and hits me across the face.
I start to come to when I heard a sound of someone slapping someone. I open my eyes and look to my right to see Ellie was tied up and a guy, with a scar across his cheek, was sitting in a chair in front of her. I start to move but then I realized that my hands were tied up behind me. "Didn't think I'd ever see you again." He said and Ellie struggles against her restraints.
"Ellie..." I muttered as I jerk against my restraints again. Then the guy looks over at me then he comes over to me. "And who are you?" He asked me. "Someone you really shouldn't have pissed off." I spat at him. "Oh yeah? How's that?" He asked me. "You and your other asshole friends stole something from me." I said in a low voice and his eyes widen in realization. "And I would like to have him back." I said, threatening.
Scar boy then pulls out Ellie's switchblade and points it at my neck. "Get away from her!" Ellie yells while I stare at the man, definently. "You're that smuggler's wife." He said. I don't reply back to him, just continued to stare at him. "She's going to have a field day with this." The man said, smiling, before he moves the blade away from my neck then stands up to look at us.
"How many of you are there? Hmm? Just you three?" He asked as he looks between us. "You can't stop this." Ellie growls at him.
"Jordan!" A different male voice calls out and another man walks in. "You're supposed to be out looking for the other one. What the fuck is this?" The man asked Jordan, annoyed. "You know that smuggler we kidnapped from Jackson?" Jordan asked his friend. "Yeah." The man said and Jordan moves the blade from me then stabs it in the arm of the chair and turns to his friend.
"This girl was there." Jordan said as he points at Ellie then he turns to me. "And her....she's the smugglers's wife." He said and his friend looks at us in shock. "What?" He said. "They're coming to the rescue, that's why Nick was so fucked up back there. We got to get this girl to Isaac and this woman to Abby. And we gotta tell Isaac exactly what's going on." Jordan said.
"Yeah. Well, I just got off the radio with Isaac. And we got a new mandate." The second man said and he starts to pull out his gun. "Kill all trespassers." He said and he starts to aim his gun at Ellie but Jordan stops him. "Hold up, hold up, that doesn't make any sense." Jordan said. "It's a direct order, man--" the second guy said.
"No. Abby is wanting this woman and we can talk to this girl and figure out what she knows." Jordan said. "I don't give a fuck about what she knows. You saw what they did to the others!" The man argued. "We don't know how many people are our there, man. This could be an ambush, Mike--" Jordan argues back.
I struggled against my restraints again as the two men argued when the second guy, Mike, moved Jordan out of the way and aimed his gun at Ellie. "No!" I exclaimed when there was a gunshot and glass breaking and Mike falls over dead. Jordan turned to the skylight to see someone walking on top of it and he raised his gun and fires at the glass.
The glass breaks and Dina falls through and lands on her back. "Dina!" Ellie and I shout and Jordan looks at his dead friend then goes after Dina. Ellie then reaches for a shard of glass with her foot then reached out for it and used it to free herself as Jordan and Dina start to fight.
Ellie gets free and she grabs her switchblade, runs at Jordan and stabs him in the neck. "Motherfucker!" She growls and let's him go as he falls forward and dies. Dina gets up, grabs a shard of glass and cuts my restraints off. "You okay?" I asked her. "Mostly." She said as Ellie starts to search Jordan's body.
Once I was free, I get up then go over and grab mine and Ellie's bag, which was on the side, while Ellie digs around Jordan's pocket. "Ellie, we've got to move. Someone would've heard the gunshots." Dina said, panicked while Ellie pulls out a letter and picture. "Look!" Ellie said and she holds up the picture. "She's one of them!" She said and I come up to her and see that it was a picture of a young woman with her shirt pulled up, revealing her boob.
"Guys, we've got to go!" Dina said. "Was there a TV station on that map?" Ellie asked as she reads the letter and I could hear voices. "Probably but we need to get moving Ellie." I said and we start to make our way out, shooting any WLF that gets in our way.
Eventually, we made our way out of that old school, which was where we were held up at, and made our way through the suburbs section of the town. Every now and then, we saw some trucks pass by along with some WLF but we were able to sneak by, unscathed.
We make our way to an old apartment building and enter a room with a balcony, where I walk over and look out into the empty streets. "Okay, coast looks clear." I said to the girls. "Yeah." Ellie mutters, nodding. "I think we're clear too." Dina said. "Alright. Ellie? That letter?" I asked her and she pulls it out of her pocket and hands it to me.
Dina walks up next to me as I flip the picture of the girl around and she whistles at this. "She's one of them." Ellie said to us. "Well, fuck her then." Dina said as I shake my head and set the photo down then I begin to read the letter.
"Jordan, Isaac's got us posted up on a two week at the TV station. Scars spotted in the area. Here's something to hold you over. Leah." I read and Ellie pulls out the map and lays it down then points at a spot on the map. "TV station." She said. "You think she's still there?" Dina asked her. "Well we gotta found out, right?" Ellie said as I go over to the map and look it over.
"So it's by all these tall buildings..." I said then I turn around and see the same exact buildings up ahead. "That way!" I said, pointing them out to the girls. "Okay. Let's go get Leah." Ellie said and I nod and the three of us make our way out of the building and head towards the TV station. Hang on, Joel. I'm coming, honey. I thought, desperately.
*3rd Person POV*
Meanwhile, off on the coastline and inside of an old abandoned aquarium, Joel was tied up to a chair in a large room that looked like an old office. He tries to struggle against the ropes but, of course, the restraints were too tight.
Joel growls under his breath and looks down, defeated, then his mind begins to wander. He has only been here for awhile, a week or two he wasn't for sure he lost count, and he still didn't know what these people wanted from him or (y/n). Or even what they done to deserve this.
Yes, him and (y/n) have done things in the past that might cause people to come after them but he'd figured they would just kill him. Why was it important to have both of them alive? Just so that they could kill them?
(y/n)... Joel thought then he starts to worry for his wife and his boys. "Shit." He growls as he struggles once more but fails. He really needed to get out of this and get to his family, he didn't know if Abby or her people were going back to Jackson to get them. And it was agitating him of even thinking about Abby and her people laying a hand on his wife and sons.
Then he remembered Tommy and Ellie were there before he was knocked out and taken away. In that moment, he hoped that they didn't come for him. He didn't know what Abby and her people were capable of. But he hoped that (y/n) didn't come out to save him, there was no sense in for Ethan and Aiden to lose both of their parents. They are way too young to deal with that.
Suddenly, the door opens and Owen walks in, carrying a plate of food. Joel glares at him as he comes over to him. "What the hell is going on? What do you want from me?" Joel asked him as Owen sets the plate down. Owen doesn't answer as he goes to un-tie a rope around Joel's bound up wrist so that he could use his hand but wasn't able to move enough to get out.
Joel glares at him and was about to go after Owen, but the younger man seemed to be a few steps ahead as he raises a gun and aims it at him. "Don't think about it." He growls at Joel. "Eat." Owen ordered him. Joel looks at him in defiance and doesn't move.
Owen scoffs then starts to leave the room. "You know, you're eventually gonna tell me what this is all about " Joel said and Owen stops in his tracks then turns to Joel. "You still don't get it? How about what happen four years ago? Does that ring a bell?!" Owen asked Joel, angrily.
Joel furrows his brow at him but then realized what he was talking about. "You're a Firefly?" Joel asked, shocked. "Not anymore, thanks to you and your wife." Owen growls then he gets up and starts to leave.
"I'll be back to collect your plate." Owen said and he goes to the door and shuts it behind him, while Joel glares after him then looks out the window. Somehow, some way, he was gonna get out of here.

10x23 brother's keeper
#1: no comment
"they let her leave the house looking like a whore" (talking about a young dead girl)
time tag: 2:33
#2: rudy told dean about a case and met him at the crime scene. dean demanded he leaves, even though it was actually rudy’s case, not dean’s.
dean: "yeah, not today you're not. i'm gonna need you to take a walk on this one."
rudy: "uh, okay? except uh, except i called you, so, uh, if anybody's walking, it's..."
time tag: 3:25
#3: he just started bullying rudy so no reason.
dean: "oh, you called me? no, no. you begged me. just like tuscaloosa, just like old lyme, we both know you're playing dress up out here, and it's just a matter of time before you get yourself killed. so why don't you take that walk and let the real hunters do the work?"
time tag: 3:35
#4: a "slut" is a social construct built out of misogyny, so if you ever think of someone as a "slut" then, you are therefore a misogynist. it’s very simple.
some dad: "by suggesting my daughter was a slut?"
dean: "i'll admit that thought crossed my mind."
time tag: 7:15
#5: he admitted he was originally blaming the dead woman for her own death because she was a "slut"
time tag: 7:27
#6: sigh. when will this man stop using misogynistic language..
"no wonder she put on that skank outfit and went out there looking for validation, right into the arms of the monster that killed her."
imagine thinking women only wear clothing for validation...imagine thinking women exist just for male attention...
time tag: 7:28
#7: pointed a gun at a child.
time tag: 8:18
#8: taunted and convinced a vampire into killing rudy.
time tag: 12:12
#9: destroyed a motel room that i'm sure he didn’t pay the damages for.
time tag: 13:47
#10: lured sam to the bar under false pretenses.
time tag: 24:17
#11: he was fully content to kill his brother to save himself and others. which big picture i guess is okay, except dean didn't exactly give sam a choice. also let's be real, killing sam was the most irreverent and unnecessary part of this whole plan. they justified killing him because he would "never rest" until he saved dean. which, like, isn't true. we all know if dean had thoroughly explained the darkness, and made sam promise to leave the mark alone, he literally would have. truth is death just really wanted to kill sam <3 and dean doesn't have the brain cells at the minute to realize killing sam makes no sense <3
time tag: 24:36
#12: dean was prepared to kill sam just to fix his own mistake. it's pathetic.
sam: "you traded my life."
dean: "i'm willing to live with this thing forever, as long as i know that i and it will never hurt another living thing."
let's chat. sam was willing to die in s4 to stop the apocalypse by killing lilith and get revenge for dean. sam died in s5 to save the world and therefore dean as well. sam was willing to die in s8 to save the world and therefore make dean's life easier. sam was willing to die in mids10 in order to get a codex that would save dean. NOW let's talk about dean. dean died in s3 as a result of saving sam (this one's ok). dean tried to "save" the world and therefore sam in s5 by planning to say yes to michael, which in turn would have burned half the planet. dean saved sam's life in s8 by lying to and violating sam. dean tried saving the world and therefore sam in s9 by recklessly accepting the mark, which in turn got many people killed and even more injured. dean tried saving the world in s10 by murdering his brother and then shipping himself off to the moon or some shit.
do you see the difference? do you see what's wrong here? i'll wait.
time tag: 25:50
#13: when in doubt blame sam!! when in doubt yell at sam!!
sam: "this doesn't make any sense"
dean: "no, it makes perfect sense if you stop thinking about yourself for one damn minute!"
time tag: 26:09
#14: attempted to guilt sam into cooperating by bringing up an old situation that was so completely different than the one they were currently in.
dean: "remember when we were in that church, making crowley human, about to close the gates of hell? well, you sure as hell were ready to die for the greater good then."
sam: *said some bs about dean doing the right thing after 8x23 which isn’t true and we know sam agrees*
dean: "and i was wrong. you were right, sam. you knew that this world would be better without us in it."
sam: "you're twisting my words here dean"
time tag: 28:20
#15: more emotional manipulation.
dean: "i know what i am, sam. but who are you when you...when you drove that man to sell his soul...or when you bullied charlie into getting herself killed? and to what end? a-a good end? a just end? to remove the mark no matter the consequences? sam, how is that not evil?"
dean is living in a separate reality as the rest of us. or his amnesia is in full swing today because none of what he said is true.
time tag: 29:25
#16: he again reiterated that he will kill sam and sam has no say in the matter.
time tag: 30:32
#17: sam punched dean, which was justified considering dean was trying to murder him?? but dean decided to fight back so that as a result of the assault, sam would be broken, hurt, and compliant in dean's plan to murder him.
time tag: 30:34
#18: sam submitted himself to dean's will and plan. he agreed to die just because dean wanted him to. it’s unbelievably unsettling, this is not codependency or familial love, this is emotional abuse, manipulation, and fear. and dean has always gotten off on that. sam kneeling on the floor, looking up to dean, who holds all the power, as blood runs down his face...:/
time tag: 32:30
#19: asked sam to close his eyes. oh boohoo....what a wimp. he made this big fuss about sam needing to die, then brutally attacked him, and now he wants sam to close his eyes???? what a hypocritical baby.
time tag: 33:21
#20: killed death. death! worst thing dean ever did. i miss him already.
time tag: 35:04

Playlist for Everything
Tumblr media
READ “EVERYTHING” ON AO3
This post is going to be extra af, but I am really inspired by music and am so in love with how perfectly some of these songs fit in with feeling of this story. I just want to yell loudly about how much I love some of these songs 😂
Here’s the link to the playlist (YouTube)
Below the cut  = more details and some highlights of the lyrics for each song!
TL;DR: If I had to narrow it down to only a few songs that really capture the essence of the story, they would be (in order of importance):
1. Unfold by Alina Baraz and Galimatias 2. Lights Out by Ayelle and Sonn 3. Strange by Kris Bowers feat Hilary Smith 4. I Miss You by Adele 5. The Bitter Suite III: Embrace by The Dear Hunter
1. The Bitter Suite III: Embrace by The Dear Hunter
Darkness Hesitation I fell into her arms Breathe in, this is amazing Breathe out, this is amazing She removed her clothes and all of the world shined Now that we're alone, all of the world shines First hot breath, then cold hands Intrusion, but aware The fire inside was alight, and she bloomed I never knew life could ever be this good The distant sighs, the clothes on the floor The bedding a mess, she sings for more We fall beneath the sea in the back of our hearts, And fail to breathe until we resurface again.
So I’m just in love with this band. They have a series of albums (Act I - V) that tell a story throughout all of the songs (they are AMAZING and I highly recommend). In this song, the main character loses his virginity to a woman he later falls in love with, and I just thought this song perfectly captures the overall experience really well. Plus, the bass riff that starts around the 5 minute mark is absolutely beautiful/emotional in a way that I can’t quite explain.
2. Come Here by Sabrina Claudio
I'm dying to see you You know what I'm fiending for The only one to get to me Only one to get this close So I want you to come here I want you to come here I just need you near
This one is more about the sensual vibe of the music, but the lyrics are also pretty fitting.
3. Speechless by Beyonce
Goin' out my head I think I'm losin' all my mind (all my mind) Drive me crazy burning candles, makin' love all night (all night) Feels so strange, it feels so crazy to be in your world (in your world) In your arms lost for words, you got me (you got me) Speechless
This one is pretty obvious when you listen to it hahaha
4. Unfold by Alina Baraz and Galimatias
Cover my thoughts in gold I'm your flower, watch me unfold My vulnerability, letting you consume me The parts of me that eyes can't see The glowing underneath Picking off the petals I'll let you if you're gentle This kind of love we can't control The art of touch, I am covered in gold I know that you feel me now No I'm never going down The parts of me buried underneath The glowing, don’t you see? I know that you feel me now
This is one of the songs I am OBSESSED WITH, especially in relation to this story. Such beautiful lyrics and just a beautiful song in general with that perfectly slow, sexy/sensual vibe.
5. I Miss You by Adele
I want every single piece of you I want your heaven and your oceans too Treat me soft but touch me cruel I wanna teach you things you never knew, baby Bring the floor up to my knees Let me fall into your gravity Then kiss me back to life to see Your body standing over me I love the way your body moves Towards me from across the room Brushing past my every groove No one has me like you do, baby Bring your heart, I'll bring my soul But be delicate with my ego I wanna step into your great unknown With you and me setting the tone
I’ve always loved this song and how sexy/emotional it is. The beat (especially around the 30 second mark when it really starts) is ON POINT.
6. Until It Hurts by Fransisca Hall
Undress these beautiful lies Blind me with animal eyes Carve your heart into mine Carve your heart into mine Brush me with venomous lips Tear me to passionate strips Stir up the beast inside Stir up the beast inside Take me for all I'm worth Touch me until it hurts
7. The End by JPOLND
Keep your breath on me And keep keep keep going 'Til my body is free Keep your eyes on me And keep keep keep going 'Til I'm the last thing you see Keep your touch on my skin And keep keep keep going Keep keep keep going...
8. Show Me by Alina Baraz and Galimatias
Rising like the smoke You linger on me You got me so high I can finally breathe You're walking poetry It's what you do to me It's what you do to me Touch me with no hands Hold me with your eyes Unwind me with your mind tonight Speak with no words Show me and I'm all yours
ANOTHER PERFECTLY FITTING SONG. The beat/sexy vibe + lyrics UGH.
9. Strange by Kris Bowers feat Hilary Smith
This is an instrumental track from the Bridgerton soundtrack that played when the main couple makes love for the first time. I just thought it was SO beautiful. One of those pieces that really makes you feel something without needing any words. I envisioned this to be playing during either the “everything” scene where he touches her face, or when they actually finally start making love. P.S. This is a cover of Strange by Celeste, which is also just as beautiful but the lyrics don’t really fit for the situation. Highly recommend checking it out though!
10. Vulnerable (David Luxe remix) by Tinashe
Once upon a time I was all alone How you like me now? Do I turn you on? Now I got you drunk, hot, and vulnerable Show me what you want, give me what you want, want Have to make you mine, get you on the floor Yeah, watch me go to work, I’ll put on a show
This is for when things start really heating up lol. It’s more about the sexy beat/vibe, but the lyrics are relatively fitting too. I like the original too, but this remix gets rid of the rap part which isn’t as appropriate for this use, plus I like the beat a bit better in the remix.
11. One in a Million by Aaliyah
So, no one else love me like you do That's why I don't mind to spend my life with you (with you) I want to please you in any way I can I want to share my world, don't you understand? Your love is one in a million It goes on and on and on You give me a really good feeling, all day long
Just kind of continuing the sexy vibe here, but the lyrics fit really well too.
12. Made to Love by John Legend
Oh I've never loved, I've never loved Never loved someone like this All-I-know is... I was sent here for you We were made to love We were made to love You were sent for me too We were made to love We were made to love
Again, needed a few songs that were a little faster for the sexier parts haha. The lyrics on this one are also pretty beautiful too.
13. Lights Out by Ayelle and Sonn
Talk about the way you wanna be You don't ever hesitate to say how All you wanna do is to be with me Taking it all in I wanna be with you 'til the sun rises In your eyes, in your eyes, in your eyes I wanna paint the moon with your eyelashes Paint the night, paint the night, paint the night Lights out
THIS ONE MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE ON THE WHOLE PLAYLIST (along with Unfold). This song is not only slow and sensual but the lyrics are BEAUTIFUL. I put it towards to the end because I think of it as when they’re coming down after and cuddling. Just imagine them looking into each other’s eyes being super in love. WARNING: If you are wearing headphones, there is a realistic knocking sound throughout the song that can be kind of alarming lol
14. I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing (piano version) by Aerosmith
Don't want to close my eyes I don't want to fall asleep 'Cause I'd miss you, babe And I don't want to miss a thing
Ok so...I’m partial to this song because the full version is what my husband and I had our first dance to at our wedding. So this song will always give me major feels. BUT I included this special piano version specifically, because just like Strange, it evokes a certain beautiful feeling of romance without needing the extra words. Just to wrap up the end with that warm fuzzy feeling of love
If anyone actually read this.....THANK YOU. It really means a lot to me ❤️

A Pair of Wings - Chapter 5
Angelmont is a dazzling kingdom for aspiring angel hunters and sorcerers alike. Though, when Logan finally sees the dark truth of this beautiful place, he’s casted out and labeled the local lunatic of the kingdom. He saw no logic in angel hunting and its cruel practices. Now he’s determined to prove them wrong, but after nearly ten years wasting away in a forest and losing hope, he’s on the brink of throwing his invention away. That is, until a curious angel falls from the sky right in front of him.
Word Count: 1.7k
tw: minor character death
Previous, Next, Masterpost
--------------------
The faint tumble of pebbles was enough to get Roman on high alert. His pointy ears perked up, trying to locate the sound that cut through the dead silence of his and his brother's hollow in the mountains. He looked over to his brother Remus, nodding to him to gear up for a fight. Remus nodded back, grabbing some poisonheads he just finished making, the juice from the berries covering the sharp rocks. Both the brothers hid in the darkness of the cave, waiting for the worst. He defeated all sorts of beasts that lurked in these woods, whether it be bears or wolves. But none came close to the terror that were humans. They were the ones that made all angels fear for their lives. He wanted nothing more than to kill them all and make them suffer, just like they did to countless other angels and… his brother.
Another tumble of pebbles echoed into the hollow, both brothers starting to get in position for a sneak attack. Each brother was on each side of the big cave they called home, and they certainly would defend it as much as possible. Again, another noise entered the cave. A scratch at the rock walls filled Roman's ears. Suddenly, a certain angel came to mind, now knowing exactly who that could be. Still, though, he didn't want to lose his guard, so he motioned one of his wings for Remus to stay close. Slowly, he approached the lip of the entrance and looked down cautiously, only to see Virgil trying to climb back up to their hollow.
“Ah, it’s only you,” Roman said, with a bit of relief in his voice.
“Help me up?” Virgil asked, trying to reach out to Roman.
Roman huffed at the question but soon lent a hand to the crippled angel before him. Virgil grabbed on, now climbing up the rest of the way into the dark hallow. They slipped a few times, making him grunt as he tried to pull them up. It was a shame they couldn’t fly. It must’ve been a constant pain for them to get anywhere, especially high in the mountains. At least they seemed like a good climber and there were a few trees that grew on the rocky walls for them to climb. Though, he had to admit, sometimes it was a pain to help them, especially with their grim demeanor. Even so, he promised himself he’d protect every angel in these mountains and forest, even Virgil, that gloomy poor angel.
Once Roman pulled them up into the hollow, he stared at the bandage Virgil wore. A closer inspection showed the small scrapes they had on their body. He knew they were always out and about, ready to cause some trouble or mischief, but tonight, he just seemed to have one too many. It even looked like they limped from time to time. He hated whenever they’d go close to the edge of the forest, almost into human territory. Just one day, they’d be seen by a human and be hunted down again. On the subject of humans…
“You look much more injured tonight than usual…” Roman said, suspicion creeping into his voice.
“Just fell out of a tree. Don’t worry, mother,” Virgil sneered, his voice filled with sarcasm.
Roman huffed again as Remus started to get more poisonheads and arrowheads. That reminded him to get his leather boots and gloves that fit snugly over his claw-like feet and hands, only the claws exposed for attacking. Soon, he went over to his corner of the hollow, taking his boots and gloves, putting them on. Footsteps rang in the hollow as Virgil approached him. The bandage on their wrist conjured up questions in his head. Where were they? What were they doing? What exactly happened? As much as he wanted answers, he needed to leave soon to patrol the forest below. To a lot of the angels that lived in the forests and mountains of Angelmont, he’d become the sole protector of this place. Some even called him a king, which he liked, but he wasn’t sure the title fit him. A lot of pressure was put upon him, but he took up the responsibility greatly.
“You stay here while Remus and I head out for the night,” Roman said, “More people will be coming over soon.”
“Yeah, yeah, I got it,” Virgil said as he walked over to the pile of wood and started to make a fire to warm the place up.
“More people should be coming over to help soon. Make yourself useful,” Roman said as he got some weapons for himself.
With the help of Remus, they made all sorts of weapons that could kill humans in an instant. One of his favorites were fireheads, sharpened stones or coals heated up to pierce and burn a human’s skin. Gently, he took some from the small hot pit that was in his corner of the hollow and placed them into a small leather bag that wrapped around his waist. He looked over to Remus as he headed back to the entrance of the hollow. Out in the open, he already saw some angels down below, guarding the mountains. Most were hidden in trees, waiting for any humans who might wander into the forest looking for trouble. Tonight, it was windy, and the floor was still damp from the rain earlier. He smiled, the cool dampness of the dark forest enticing him to adventure. Even with such a big responsibility on his hands, he tried to have some fun with it, battling human after human.
“Just… be careful you guys,” Virgil said.
Roman and Remus simply nodded, flying down to the forest, ready for a fight.
✰✰✰✰✰
The large fire crackled throughout the hollow, more angels rushing in to bring in the injured. There seemed to be more tonight. There always seemed to be more… The last few nights put Virgil in a daze. He’d seen death before, and he wasn’t afraid, but the number of injured angels that were now at the hollow was starting to concern him. His heart was always in a constant state of chill, barriers always being held up, but there were moments he wished he could help. All he ever did was tend to the fire. He knew no magic and his presence usually scared a lot of angels, with his missing wing and all. He looked over to his bandage Logan had put on his wrist. It still stung occasionally as he tended the fire, but, for the most part, it felt okay. He was still amazed at how Logan was able to get rid of most of his pain so easily. Perhaps he should learn how to do that spell, so he’d be just a bit more useful than just tending a fire. Perhaps he should meet them again…
Virgil walked over to the back of the hollow, making sure not to step onto the injured angels that lay on soft hay beds across the floor. He was about to grab some more wood until he heard a quiet voice echo in the cave. Looking around, he saw a small child, most likely only nine or ten years old. They laid down far over in the corner, almost covered in full darkness, only a hint of light coming from the fire lighting their left side.
“Come here, please…” the little child practically whispered to Virgil.
Virgil’s eyes widened, surprised by them. Not many angels wanted care from him, especially not children. To them, he was some sort of abomination, and he couldn’t blame them when he was one. Quietly, he walked over to them with some wood still in hand. He placed them on the ground next to him then turned to look over to the child. As he knelt down, there seemed to be something off about them, and with closer inspection, it hit him. Their left wing was missing, just like his… No wonder they called him over. The wound was bandaged quite well, but he could tell there was a clean, perfect cut that separated the wing from their small frail body. This was definitely the doing of an angel hunter.
“What’s it like only having one wing?” the child asked, their voice hoarse.
“It’s hell…” Virgil said with no hesitation. The truth was much better than a lie.
“Oh…”
“Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it…”
Virgil looked over to the child once again, finally noticing all the other bandages around their body. There was one that wrapped their entire midsection and another that covered one of their eyes. In all honesty, they looked in way worse shape than he ever was, yet this kid somehow had a small smile on their face.
“I- I feel numb…” the child whispered.
Quickly, Virgil looked around for a healing angel, but all of them looked busy. “I’ll try and find someone to help…”
“No! Don’t leave me…” they exclaimed.
Virgil blinked in surprise as he turned back to the child. They had grabbed onto his hand which was so small compared to his. He desperately wanted to get someone to help but leaving the child wouldn’t do much good either. Sighing, he decided to stay with them and sat down next to them.
“I feel sleepy…” they said.
“It’s okay, go to sleep,” Virgil whispered.
Virgil watched as their eyes closed, trying to comfort them as they fell asleep. Their hand was latched on tight to his and he could feel the air grow still. Suddenly, their grip seemed to weaken more and more until they no longer held his hand. Gently, he pressed two fingers up to their neck, trying to find a pulse. There was nothing.
Virgil’s eyes widened then softened. He’d seen this countless times before, but he couldn’t stop the tears from running down his face. Quickly, he tried to wipe them away and gathered his composure. For a few minutes, he sat there, silently crying for this child. He had no clue whether they were an orphan or if their parents were waiting for them to come back home. After he finally stopped crying, he looked over to the fire in the middle of the hollow, knowing he needed to tend to it. He looked over to the child again as he picked up the firewood.
“You’ll be okay…” Virgil whispered to them as he walked over to the fire.

(This is so long I’m sorry but I had to rant cause honestly I’m scared )
I literally made a post the other day about how we have to welcome in new fans and treat them equally but truth be told? I’M. NOT. FUCKING. READY
Bitch bitch bitch I mean I’mma have to stand this kids hardcore shipping Luke x Annabeth ???? Or Luke x Thalia ???? SIS they’re SIBLINGS wth Annabeth realized it later on it changed there was an arc.
Like this fandom closed the discussion on Luke’s redemption arc and the way he is and his motives we agree we have opinions but we’re FINE. Are you telling me ma boy is gonna be played by some hot teen (he is older) and 12 y/o’s are gonna be biased and I’m gonna have to yell at them across a screen cause they’re gonna act like Luke is a saint !!!!??
THE SHIPS. FUCKFUCKFUCK. BoTL Percy spent worried about Nico and if it’s done properly we’re gonna have all that worry face first and no one’s gonna be able to ignore it like the AMOUNT OF PEOPLE who are gonna say that’s OTP. I mean SHIT.
I haven’t even been in the [internet] fandom for that long like how I’m I supposed to go against this people who were here before me I mean they LEFT but what arguments do I have !?!?
The amount of people who only read pjo and went BYE like I can’t bring HOO up in discussions wdym????? How I’m I supposed to talk development and change and character arcs and what would they do in certain situations if you’ve never heard of them ????
I’M NOT READY
Y’all wanna know something terrifying? The maze runner fandom. Because there’s so little creators out there who actually love it the way I do and so much of it is obsessed with Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Newt I haven’t been there since I finished the books I couldn’t stand it. And I can’t stand the fact that our Percy actor is gonna be good-looking and I’m TERRIFIED of the amount of people who are gonna be here for what the actors look like you can’t understand this.
I MEAN all them debates are coming back up I can’t do this. This is such a fantastic fandom (and I’m in many, trust me) like we’re all at peace there’s no arguments you can literally come by and just vibe.
OH FUCK ANOTHER THOUGHT. So since we’re getting official characters and stuff I swear if ONE IDIOT hates on viria’s or Livibis’ or Markiehh’s art (they’re the one’s at the top of my head) because it’s “inaccurate” or “far off” from what they look on screen they better watch the fuck out because they have no idea the fandom they’re messing with.
OH AND SHIT I know this has been brought up but the way we treat Nico??? All baby and soft and all that and how our fanon Nico is just so different from the actual canon kick-ass Nico, ya know? But we kinda understand how powerful Nico is but we still love him cause poor kid was 10 and then all of it happened and he was 13/14 (?) during tlo and the PTSD so we’re chill with that BUT. There’s the fact that our son is gay and god the amount of people who are gonna come in (cause there’s obviously gonna be foreshadowing) and be like “ooh gay baby look at him” that’s badly explained but I know you guys understand. And specially if we get to HoO and the horrors getting to ToA would be. Like we already have our fanon Nico but if someone DARES to even IMPLY that Nico can’t kill you with a thought the entire fandom know better and will prove them wrong. But the new fans what would they know.
You know what’s going to be fucking horrible ???? PARENTS. I mean UGHHHHHH. My parents only know I’m reading what I tell them I’m reading (“a book about Greek mythology”). Like I’m terrified of my mom picking up The Burning Maze sitting on my desk or any Cassandra Clare book cause the homophobia in this household is astronomical. (Don’t know how many of you will understand but the PANIC I went through reading the red scrolls of magic? God knows she would check every book I get form the library from the on) Back to the point sorry. But y’all pjo is mostly safe but Rick already talks about how parents complain about adding a Genderfluid character to a Norse mythology book (I mean Ma’am go educate yourself) and how his books “would be more successful without [gay] characters” ???? What if we get Kane Chronicles some asshole is gonna come up about Sadie being polyamorous, Alex and Magnus are gonna be a problem, Will and Nico, House of Hades is gonna make Karens riot because of one scene.
You can see how Disney treats Seblos (hsmtmts) compared to the other couples on the show. You can see how not even half of Andi Mack is actually on Disney+ (after getting brutally canceled) you can see how Diary of a Future President hasn’t been renewed when it’s reviews are 100% for both critics and public. How the Love, Simon series was removed (now on Hulu) because it wasn’t a good mix with “the family-friendly content on Disney+” (underage drinking + s*x are brought up in discussions but the show isn’t out yet and we have no idea). So pardon me for being scared of how this is going to be treated.
Back to the new fans. I’m gonna say the topic that’s the most brought up that causes discussions is Leo (?) Tbh I’m still lost on the Leo x Echo thing that everyone else seems to understand. Plus the hate on Caleo is probably the biggest issue in this fandom. (Which is like saying the biggest problem in a perfectly written essay are some barely noticeable erase-marks, but still). Anyways a fair amount of people dislike Leo for reasons I kinda comprehend. I know a kid and he’s the exact definition of Leo, (I’ll probably talk about this in an individual post) and people don’t like him, I know most of you would avoid him. I know he’s great but people just don’t seem to like him.
(wOw i’M sO gOOd aT sTaYInG oN tOpiC)
I don’t think I’m gonna be able to survive hate on characters that probably WILL come.
Solangelo is called rushed a lot and I would want to see this two fall for each other and Nico let down his walls and talk about his PTSD from Tartarus (which friendly reminder Percy saw for a few minutes the way Nico saw it the whole time and it was the worst part of his entire experience there). But I mean there WERE six months between BoO and ToA, I am pretty sad we didn’t get to see them.
oH JESUS follow-up on Nico earlier; the fetishization, or Apollo, or Will.
Ok... ha, this is fun....
OH WAIT NEW THOUGHT SJDJDJD On the topic of Luke’s redemption arc... BIANCA,, they better do my girl properly who thought she had stayed months at the Lotus Hotel babysitting her lil’ brother and then was put into a school where they were outcasts and she probably knows as much as Nico about mythomagic from his rants and she thought he was gonna be safe and she wanted freedom and be her own person so she joined the hunters. And as a fandom we’ve talked this out but what about the new fans, they better not try to act like she did anything wrong cause that’s just not-
OH AND no one better hate on Clarisse cause yeah she’s the minor antagonist but she’s a very well-written character who doesn’t change the way she is but is kinda less of an ass towards Percy. And she and Silena are good friends and she and Chris are dating and she is a human being with valid feelings. She was terrified for Chris in BoTL and cared for him and nurse him back to sanity and stayed with him. She throws Percy and Annabeth into the lake which so it’s prove she and Percy are more in the friendly banter I-won’t-admit-how-much-I-care-for-you-if-it-meant-my-life relationship. Then this doesn’t happpen until the last two books (seasons?) so we can’t actually go around saying it? In SoM we learn about how Ares treats her which is SO important so I guess S1 comes out and we sit here telling new fans “You’ll know next season” cause we can’t directly spoil it and then we’re like “You gotta wait for seasons 4 and 5” ugghhhhh this is too much.
Ok I’m done for now I’ll reblog this with any new terrifying thoughts when if they come.

William and the demon Ch. 5 - The final boss
I felt like those videogame characters that are running against a timer to save, I don’t know, the world? Sure, it was just my school, and I wasn’t sure if Kevin intended to actually blow up the school. But I couldn’t take any risks.
Adam and I ran as fast as possible, the school wasn’t that far from my house, but we had to plan the whole thing.
“As soon as we go in, we start looking for the demon. If you find him before I do, yell my name as loud as you can and I should appear close to you, understood?” I nodded and kept running “Good, I’ll keep the flask with me just in case I find him first.”
“What about my friends? Can you do something about them?”
“My priority is eliminating the demon; after that I have to try to fix everything he did.” That wasn’t really comforting at all. And he noticed “Don’t worry, I’ll do my best to ensure everything goes back to normal” I nodded once again, the school was close.
It was night already, and pretty late. How was that possible? A few hours ago I was heading home back from school!
No time to think about the time. That didn’t make sense, but still. My friends are in there and I had to make them snap out of whatever shit they’re on. Adam told me to enter through the main gate, and he teleport himself inside the building and start looking for Kevin in there. “Sounds like a good plan” I said, and he vanished right in front of me.
I was all by myself now. I opened the door and walked through the dark hallway. I never thought about how my high school would be at night, and it was terrifying. I looked all around me, just in case someone tried to surprise me. My friends could be under Kevin’s control for what I knew. After Harry called him Master…
‘Focus Will, we’re on dangerous field right now’ I thought and kept walking. A shadowy figure walked, but it was too dark to see who it was.
I grabbed my phone and turned on the flashlight. “Oh, hey William!” Anthony stood there, smiling as always.
“God, you scared me dude. Let’s go, we gotta get out of here! This place is about to blow up!” I told him, walking closer to him.
But he walked away from me. “Nope! Now that you’re here, I’ve got to tell Master Kevin about your arrival! He’s going to be so happy William!” I was about to tell him to shut up, maybe running over to him and covering his mouth would be a solution too. But it was already too late, he started yelling Kevin’s name as he ran away into the dark hallway. Soon, his voice faded.
One minute later, the demon’s voice started talking through the speakers. “Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the end of the school party!” The principal’s office had the speakers’ microphone! That’s on the second floor!
I started running towards the office as he continued “Let’s give the welcome to our first and last contestant, WILLIAM COOPER!” Like some kind of game show, claps and cheering sounded through the speakers too. “To add a bit of context, my good pal over there made a deal with me and broke it like it was nothing. Now, we can’t have that happening, can we?”
‘BOOOO’ the fake audience started screaming.
“That’s what I thought! So, before the bomb I hid somewhere in the school explodes… Let’s make him have a blast of a night!” The cheering returned, it was sickening. I was close to the principal’s office now. I opened the door and entered.
However, Kevin wasn’t there.  Shit, it was obvious he wouldn’t be here in the first place. I was about to leave and look somewhere else, I also had to find that bomb, which didn’t make my task any easier.
When I left the office, closing the door behind me. I heard footsteps down the hallway. I stood there, a bit worried. “Tony? Is that you?” No response, but the footsteps were getting closer. “Harry?” No response. “Derek?” Again, no response. But the figure was now visible thanks to my flashlight.
It was Derek, he was still wearing the leather jacket and his face seemed full of dirt and oil. Probably he stopped taking care of himself after ditching school. Another thing I would make sure Kevin paid for.
“Derek! We have to leave soon! This place is about to-“ I stopped when he was even closer than before. This wasn’t Derek, not the Derek I saw a few days before, at least. His eyeballs were entirely black, and the skin surrounding them was black, too. I started walking backwards as he came closer near me, moving his hand to his belt.
“Derek… what are you doing?” Something didn’t felt right, was he possessed or something like that?
He grabbed something from his belt, I tried to look at it but my flashlight wasn’t so good. I closed my eyes to focus on the object in his hand. He had a gun. I turned off my flashlight and started running in a weird zigzagged way.
Bang!
I ran down the stairs, it was difficult to see in the darkness but I had an idea of where I was going. Bang! This was going to be more difficult than expected, and I can’t reason with him if he’s trying to kill me, so my best bet was fighting or fleeing. And I didn’t bring something to fight, so I started running to the boys’ locker room. If I was lucky, maybe the sports stuff closet was open!
Derek was running right behind me. I had to get him off me. Bang!
It would be so easy to just wake up now, and find out this was just a nightmare, but that didn’t seem to be the case at all.
“HYAAAAA” Someone yelled behind me, but it wasn’t Derek’s voice. It was deeper, I turned on my flashlight once again and pointed at my chaser and my supposed savior.
Harry had tackled the rebel into a locker, and the later was lying unconscious in the floor. Luckily, there was no blood to be seen and my former friend was still breathing. It was a relief, despite the fact that he was chasing me with a loaded weapon just a moment ago.
Focus Will, you’re still not safe. Harry smiled at me after getting up and said “Bro, it’s so good to see you! Something weird is happenin’ here!”
He tried to get close to me, but I wasn’t falling for that twice. I took a few steps back, as he tried to reach out to me.
“Is everything alright, Willy? It’s me, Harry! Look, remember I said I had something to tell you? Well this might be the perfect moment, but we should leave first before this place blows up!”
He walked faster towards me, but I still wasn’t trusting his act. I matched his speed and tried to get away from him. “What- What did you want to tell me before, Harry?” I stuttered, I’m sure he’s still under Kevin’s control. But if I managed to reach out to him before, maybe this time will work better?
“Heh, don’t wanna wait, don’t ya? Alright, I can work with that. But could you stop getting away bro? Please, you’re ruinin’ the moment!”
“It’s better to keep the distances!” I said, looking behind me just in case I had to take a turn. Hallways aren’t eternal to avoid your crazy classmates, sadly.
“Alright, that’s enough!” I stopped when I saw him stopping. He breathed heavily, I wanted to go near and see what was wrong, but that wasn’t an option when my life is on the line. He started “Master Kevin was right! The simple truth is you don’t want to be best friends anymore! So I might as well finish ya and make Master Kevin happy!” He said with a weird mix between confidence and anger.
Fuck, if I actually listened out to him, he might have helped me out. But that didn't seem the case.
Harry’s eyes started getting darker and darker, until they were just like Derek’s. Completely black eyeballs with a bit of the skin around them going black too.
Have you ever played Dark Souls or Monster Hunter? If you did, you're probably familiar with what I'm going to explain. When a boss monster or something like that charges at full speed towards your character and you can only roll to the side, hoping that it won't low your HP's? Exactly, that's what I felt like.
My former best friend charged towards me. I jumped to the side avoiding the attack, but his new football skills seemed to be helping him out. He quickly stopped in his tracks and charged towards me once again. I rolled to the side, there wasn’t enough time for me to get up, and I can’t be doing this all night.
There was a bomb to find! OH DAMN, THE BOMB!
I tried to get up as fast as I could, but that was my mistake. Harry managed to grab me and dragged me. I wondered where was he taking me, maybe with Kevin? It would make sense, finishing me off in front of his Master or whatever.
I struggled with all I had, but it just wasn’t enough. He was way bigger and stronger than before. This guy wasn’t my best friend. I should get used to that and just stop trying to reach out to them.
We entered… the boy’s bathroom? What was he going to do? And then I realized, he threw me in front of one of the toilets and forced my head down the bowl. I fought like hell, managing to kick him in one occasion, but that made things worse.
Harry pressed his foot over the leg that just hit him, making sure it couldn’t move. It was painful, but nothing I couldn’t handle. When I thought I was going to drown, he grabbed me by my hair and pulled my head up.
I didn’t waste my chance, and shouted with all the breath I had left. “ADAAAAAAAAAM!”
As the jock was about to push me back into the toilet, I felt him getting off me. I looked back and noticed the angel had grabbed him by his varsity jacket and pinned him down on the ground. He said some weird stuff in another language (Latin, maybe?) and Harry stopped struggling, as a nice smile appeared in his face and he closed his eyes. Ready for a good sleep.
“Are you alright?” asked Adam, a concerned look in his face.
I took some moments to breath and recover. Then I nodded “Y-yeah, nothing important”
He checked me out, probably looking if I was injured. “Your leg seems a bit… not in a good state. Are you sure you’re okay?”
It hurt a little, yeah. But I could walk, if I held on to something of course. “I can make it, we have to find the bomb and take… find the bomb, yeah”
He nodded, probably decided to drop the leg subject and continue searching. “Speaking about the bomb, any clue about where could it be?” I shook my head. Truth is, I haven’t done any progress at all. I just managed to escape my crazy classmates.
“That’s bad. I did find something” He reached into his belt and pulled out a gun. It was the same one that Derek was using before, I assumed. “There was this unconscious guy in the hallway. He seemed to be deeply corrupted, because of his black...” He saw Harry’s eyelids; they were as black as Derek’s. “Yep, just like his. I want to believe he won’t want his gun back. If you pour a bit of the flask’s content to the bullets and shoot that demon with it, it should be the same as making him drink it. As long as the potion enters his body, it should work as expected. Do you want me to do it? Or should we use the old method?”
That was a lot easier than making Kevin drink the thing. “Sure, let’s try that out” Adam nodded and did the whole process. It was a lot simpler than expected, he literally just threw one drop of the potion in each bullet and there was still a good amount of it in the flask.
“Huh, impressive. I’m taking the flask then, since I can defend myself pretty well.” He handed me the gun, I hesitated for a moment. I wasn’t going to use that, not with my classmates. But he was right, I was defenseless. It would be useful in an extreme situation.
I grabbed the gun. “I’m seeing you around. Again, scream my name if you need help” Adam then vanished in the air, just like before. Alright, time to finish this.
I started running around the school, looking for the demon. This had to end as soon as possible.
If I wanted to blow up the entire place, where would I put the bomb? The kitchen? No, food was toxic, but not enough to make a good explosion. Boys’ locker room? It wouldn’t do much damage there. I’m not a bomb expert, but if I wanted to make a lot of damage maybe… the boiler room? It wouldn’t hurt to check it out.
I ran all the way to the boiler room. I’ve been in this school from years, I knew it like the palm of my hand. I opened the door and walked down the stairs, careful to not make a single sound.
I could hear humming coming from the inside. It was… Tony? I walked further down the stairs and managed to get a clear view of the environment.
Kevin was in there, sitting next to what appeared to be the bomb and talking to the preppy guy. "-powers actually suck a bit when you have limitations? I mean, I can bend the fucking reality, but I need to use normal methods like these to blow up a school, and I can't even do it myself, I have to use a human for that! Who wrote those rules?" He complained.
Tony was cleaning around, without a care in the world, or his life for that matter. The bomb was pretty clear in sight, attached to the main boiler. It still had like 10 minutes. Fuck, I had to hurry!
"I wonder where are your friends" Said the demon, then vanished in the air. That was my chance!
I ran down the stairs and went directly for the bomb.
Anthony looked at me and ran towards me. “NO, WILLIAM. STOP, IT’S WHAT MASTER KEVIN DESIRES!” He yelled, trying to run after me.
Then he stopped, I wondered why as I looked back at him. I bumped into something, someone. “Well, look who it is” Kevin was standing right in front of the bomb.
“Step away from the thing” I said, I was worried about the timer, it kept going down. 9 minutes now. I quickly grabbed my gun and pointed it at him.
“Oh, yeah? And why would I? You broke our deal. Now, it’s time to pay for the consequences” He said, his cocky smile was there again. I hated it. I hated him, and his demon shit for making us go through hell and back just because ‘he had a mission’.
“Look man, If only you had someone, anyone, to support you back then, things may have gone a lot different”
“What are you talking about?”
“I wish you stood alive a little longer” I took a step closer to him, putting my hand on my belt, where the gun was hidden. “just to realize, how beautiful it is to be alive. Not with demon powers to change reality or whatever. But with people who love you and care about you”
“Stop. Right. Now.” Again, his cocky smile vanished like when he told me that story. I got him now. This time, it wasn’t anger what he showed. It was fear.
“But trying to blow up my school, with me, and my friends or whatever they are now, still inside. You’re just pulling a dick move, and you said why. It’s only because you can, and you’re jealous of me. You’re jealous I haven’t given up the fight yet, and you hate seeing me still rooting out for my friends even after you did some magic mind control on them.”
“JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP” He had my gun. How? I don’t know, maybe it’s because it wasn’t part of me, so it wasn’t really immune to him. “This. Ends. Right. Now.” His breathing turned really heavy, he pointed the gun at me, but I wasn’t going to give up!
I slapped his hand and the gun flew across the room. We engaged in a one on one fight. He was stronger, yeah. But I just had to make some time. 6 minutes left. This had to be quick!
I avoided a fist flying directly to my face and counter-attacked. We rolled in the floor, now I was on top. We rolled again, he was on top. I noticed Tony trembling at the other side of the room.
We kept fighting, and neither of us was getting tired.
BANG.
Tony had the gun. I don’t know if Kevin made him grab it and shoot it. But it worked. It worked amazingly. “Was that good for you?” A wounded Kevin said.
Strange. There was no actual wound. He grabbed his shoulder like he was hurt, but there was nothing there? Maybe I couldn't see it?
He tried to snap his fingers, maybe to teleport away, or heal himself. But it didn’t work. He tried again, nothing. “Hey Anthony, help me!” Tony passed out after he shot the demon. Maybe it was too much for him, I couldn’t blame him.
I pushed him off and he laid on the ground. “I’m… I’m a human again. Why?” But I didn’t have the time for this. I tried to get up but it seems like my leg got worse after that fight with Kevin. I grabbed the bomb without any problem and started jumping away in one leg. Kevin didn’t try to stop me, and even if he wanted to, he wouldn’t be able.
I was carrying the bomb, I had to get as far as possible from the school. Fuck, Harry and Kevin really messed up my leg. I could only do little steps at a time. Come on, just a little longer.
“You’re not gonna make it in time, not with that leg” Said a familiar voice, it sent chills down my spine.
I stopped and turned back and saw the former demon, wounded. He was more near to me than I would have liked. “Clever boy. You take that thing with you and nobody dies. Except for you, if you keep carrying that thing around.”
“I want my classmates to live, thank you” I said firmly. Maybe he would leave me alone.
“I would like that too, to be honest... Fuck, I’m a former demon wounded, can’t you let me try and redeem myself at the last fucking moment? You were right, nobody cares about me. I’d rather die if I’m going to… be an asshole like they were before with me” I assumed he referred to his old life. He tried to reach out to me and grab the bomb.
“Stay away from… me!” I said, falling to the ground. My leg was hurting like hell. Kevin could have finished right there, but he just chuckled.
“…or what?” He smiled, I really wasn't in a position to fight back. Despite my struggle to hold on to it, he grabbed the bomb and walked to the nearest exit. I felt pathetic, then passed away, once again. I was tired alright?
Suddenly, I woke up at the rooftop.
I was at the school’s rooftop, and noticed Adam was at my side. He was trying to do some mumbo jumbo to my leg, a bright light coming from his hand. Suddenly it felt better. Not perfect, but better. “Thanks, for saving me before I mean”
The angel nodded “Not a problem. I’m really sorry you got involved in all of this… It’s scary how everything can, excuse me, go to hell in just a few days. You should have called me; I would have helped you in battle”
“I’m sorry about that, just felt the rush of the moment. What happened to him? I mean, to Kevin. He seemed to be… human once again” I asked, I was curious about where did he go with the bomb. Now that he was seemingly human and was wounded, there wasn’t much he could do.
“He’s not in the school, I can tell you that. I reached out to you as soon as I could feel the demon’s presence vanishing. But the lack of an explosion makes me think he deactivated the bomb before running away. He may try to go back to hell, but I’ve never heard of a humanized demon returning there” I stared at him silently. That was a bit comforting, knowing that we were safe.
“I tried to fix everything” He continued “I did my best effort. But honestly, there’s so much even I can do. The best thing you can do is wait for the dawn, you can think of it like a bad dream that will stop when the morning comes.” He stopped there, and looked at the sky, then continued “Your friends suffered deep corruption, so I couldn’t bring them back the way they were before. But…”
“Are they conscious they have been changed?” I said, maybe they could change back by themselves?
“Luckily, yes. I was about to say that I could restore their memories previous to the demon’s arrival. If they want to go back to their previous lifestyle, it’s all up to them”
I remained silent for a while, until the right question passed through my mind “Do you know why Kevin couldn’t use his powers on me?"
“I may be wrong, but I think, as you have seen through this whole thing, that you're immune to supernatural, or at least demonic powers. I haven't used my powers on you in any occasion, nor I intend to. I just had to dispose of the demon before he caused much damage around here” He smiled at me, like he just said something super funny or heroic. I realized that I never saw Adam smile, but I was happy I finally saw it. His smile was comforting, like we really did achieve something spectacular by staying alive.
“I’ll leave now, but I’ll still look out for you guys. Just in case” He said, before running off to the edge of the rooftop and disappearing in a white light.
“Bye” I mumbled.
-
A bit later, I was sitting on the school’s rooftop, waiting for the dawn to appear. Everything was fine now, everything was normal, once again.
Or at least, I wished it was.
I heard footsteps behind me, I carefully turned around, still a bit afraid. But it was Harry, still wearing his varsity jacket. “Mind if I sit here with ya?” I shrugged, his jock accent was still there. I didn’t feel safe, but I couldn’t blame it on him.
He sat beside me anyway, and like I was, stared at the sky waiting for the dawn. Just a few minutes more, and it would all be over.
“Are… are Derek and Tony okay?” I asked. The big guy nodded.
“After we… got our memories back. Sorry, it still sounds weird to me. The guys wanted to go back to normal ASAP. Derek wanted to take a good bath to clean up all the oil and dirt on him. And Tony is still in the school, but he’s waitin’ for us in the entrance” He explained, it was a relief. I mean, them wanting to recover their old lifestyles. At least, my friends would be back next day.
“Do ya hate me, Will?” Asked the guy, out of nowhere.
I didn't answer. After this, I would go home, take a good sleep and then skip school, probably just to set myself back in line, dye my hair back to blond and stuff like that. It wouldn’t exactly be easy to trust them again, but it wasn’t their fault at all.
He nodded slowly after my lack of answer. “Would you like to… keep being best friends?” he was scared, but had a bit of hope in his voice. “I… I remember everything that went down tonight and I wasn’t really in control of my actions. But I won’t excuse myself, and I’ll understand if ya don’t wanna be around me anymore”
Once again, I remained silent. I was mostly afraid. The school's rooftop wasn't making me more comfortable. His eyeballs could turn black once again, and Adam wasn't around to save me if Harry decided to push me off the roof. It wasn't likely to happen, but I wasn't going to take risks.
“We both changed a lot, man” I sighed “We’re not the same teens that cared about getting all the Korok seeds. I’ve got my own stuff to put together and you’ve got to keep your place in the team. If you still want to be a jock, of course”
“I… I understand” Harry said, he was sad about it but it was stupid to keep pushing the subject. He got up and walked away.
I sat there a bit longer, until it was 6 a.m.
And the nightmare was over.
-----
**A week later**
My name is William Cooper. I’m a student at OceanVille High School. I’m not really an important person, I do seem to have a special power that managed to make me this story’s hero. Just what seemed to be an error, in the universe’s big plan.
A week passed, and everything seemed alright.
Derek was himself once again. He quitted his job at the auto repair shop, donated his new clothes and now he was back at his old routine. The first one arriving of the group. The teachers were really worried about him not appearing at school these days, they were about to send someone to see if everything was fine at home. He had a lot to deal with, yeah. Now, every day he had to give his professors a note so they could confirm his assistance.
It wasn’t that bad, he didn’t complain at all. ‘It was a small price to pay to return to my old life’ he said in one of his texts. He didn’t get an answer from me though. I’ve been ignoring the three guys during the whole week, as every time I saw one of them, I would start panicking silently.
Anthony, or Tony once again, was embarrassed. He made some new friends during the demon’s plan, but not really good ones. “Hey preppy asshole!” Shouted one student while passing by. They weren’t going to do anything to him. They thought of him as an easy target because of that little phase he went through, as the adults liked to call it.
Luckily, Harry was around. He didn’t want to go back to normal, but it was fine. It made him happy being in the football team.
He was like Tony’s bodyguard now. My former best friend was the one that tried the most to contact me. After that awful Friday night, I had almost 20 messages asking if I arrived home safely. Then, another 20 each school day asking the same. Again, I ignored him, like I did with the other two.
For me, I just had to dye my hair back to my natural color, blond. Luckily, that was the only change made to me, and it wasn’t even magical! I’ve got a bit more worried about other people, too. Knowing there are supernatural beings around the world wasn’t a comforting thought. But Adam managed to made me feel better, trying stupid things to make me laugh every time I seemed about to snap. And I really appreciated that.
Adam basically lives with me now, and it made me feel a bit safer, so that was a pro. He tried to avoid talking about the Awful Friday, because he thought I may have PTSD now. It was a possibility, yeah. Seeing my three former best friends made me really uncomfortable.
Then the second week after that Friday came.
“Is my tie alright?” Asked Adam as he walked with me to school. He wanted to start going with me, for safety purposes, apparently. But I suspected he has never gone to high school and he wanted to try it out.
“Why are you wearing a tie? It’s a normal high school day, not prom night” I asked him.
He seemed disappointed “I… thought your school had uniforms. I like uniforms.” He mumbled. I patted his back.
“Don’t worry, it’s alright. First day can be hard for everyone.” I said, but Adam stopped and ran to some bushes. Then he vanished in the air. I’ll never get used to that.
I waited for him to reappear, just in case. A few minutes later, he appeared wearing a hoodie and jeans, with some running shoes. “Is this better? I saw someone wearing it last week”
“It’s great, actually.” I smiled, and we continued our way.
When we arrived, I went directly to my locker as Adam went to the principal’s office. I opened my locker and grabbed a few of my books for today’s classes. Everything seemed back to normal already. Except for one thing.
“Yo” Asked the jock, Harry. I saw them before, my former friends I mean, whispering to each other as I passed by. But that was none of my business, though I suspect they were talking about me, for some reason. Is that weird?
I gave him a nod and kept moving my hands in my locker, pretending I was doing something. “Mind if we have a talk? We… miss you, bro. It’s not been the same since…”
“Alright! Yeah, let’s have a talk” Let’s get this over with." Harry’s face lightened up as we walked together to where Anth- Tony and Derek were standing.
“Hey Will” Said Tony, it lacked his usual confidence though. Derek didn’t even bother in speaking, he just nodded with a weak smile and tried to look away. Maybe he was embarrassed after trying to shoot me?
An awkward silence appeared, as Harry smiled like everything was already back to normal, Derek kept looking around and Tony just expected me to speak or something. I was not the one who wanted to talk.
Just standing there, surrounded by them, was enough to make me want to run away to the bathroom and hide in a stall.
“So… Why don’t we go straight to the point?” Harry started, he was the only one that wasn’t embarrassed to talk, it seemed. Maybe his new jock confidence helped with that? “We want to hang out with you like in the old times, Will. Like, let’s just forget that whole week ever happened and be best friends once again, alright?”
Adam then appeared. About time! “Hey Will… Did I miss something?” He asked, he seemed cautious.
“Adam, they are… my friends, Harry” I pointed to the big guy, who recovered his smile after hearing me calling him a friend. “Derek” He wasn’t looking away anymore. “And Tony” He seemed about to tear up. Oh god, I wanted to see that.
“Nice, William’s friends are my friends too” Said the angel, trying to imitate a teenager voice. It sounded ridiculous.
Harry tried to hug me, but I took a step back.
“Alright guys, I don’t really think we can go back to how we were before” I tried to excuse myself from rejecting Harry’s hug. They didn’t seem to care that Adam was listening. “So, instead of that, let’s try to start over from the beginning”
I extended my hand. “My name is William Cooper”
Harry smiled and shook my hand. “Harry Evans, nice to meet ya”
Tony followed, shaking my hand after Harry finished “Tony Smith”
And then, the last one was Derek “Derek Price, my pleasure!”
It was a new beginning, for the five of us. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The Yokai Village: Chapter 1 The Encounter
I was walking deep in a forest far away from human civilization. It was quite peaceful and silent as a result. The leaves were blowing very softly and relaxing. It was quite nice considering the bullshit that humans can bring. There were rumors of spirits and monsters living out here, at least in isolated areas far from human civilization. They say that if you encounter one, you will be lucky if you don’t die in the first minute. In fact, you would be insanely lucky if you got to live at all. However, I hardly believe those rumors. I continued to walk for about 2 more hours. It was about 1 PM and I realized that I need to start heading back. However, shortly after turning around I heard something. It sounds like someone walking up behind me. But before I got a chance to turn around, I was being grabbed by someone! I was about ready to scream in panic, but my mouth was almost immediately covered! However, I heard a female voice. “Calm down human, calm down. I am not going to kill you. I am going to take you to my home.” I tried to break free, but I could even get her to budge. “It’s hopeless to resist human, I am much stronger than you,” she said. I just had a feeling of what I was dealing with. “Ok this is not going to work out like this” she said. “So tell you what, I'm going to release, but don’t attempt to run away” She continued. She released me, and I immediately turned around. I got a good look at her, she was beautiful. Her hair was blond and long. Looked somewhat young, and has big breast. However, I notice she has ears of a fox along with a tail. I realized what she was, she was a fox spirit. “I wouldn’t scream if I were you” she said with a sadistic smile. “No human would hear you and would only attract yokai that would want to kill you” She followed up on. “Your a…. Fox Spirit?” I asked. She replied “Yes I am, but don’t be scared. If I wanted to kill you, I would have done so already”. “However, you are coming with me, I can’t let you escape” She said. She has a grin on her face, but why would she want me? She doesn’t want me to escape, but won’t kill me. I should be grateful, but something tells me I am not going to like what she has planned for me. However, before I had a chance to do anything, she grabbed me by the hand and started pulling me as she started to walk. I am shaking with fear, and the fox realized that and said “Relax I am not going to hurt,” Then she said “In fact, how about this, my name is Tamamo! What is your name?” That did not calm me down, it made me even more fearful “Tamamo No Mae” I asked? She replied “No, the one you humans think is evil! My mother named me after the great fox spirit sorceries due to my skills with magic. But again my name is Tamamo, what is your name?” I then say “My name is Zack”. “Zack, that is such a nice name” she replied. Suddenly she hugged me for some reason. Her body was really soft, partly because of her huge breast. It was clear she had no intention of hurting me; moreover, it's clear she even wants to be friends with me. I finally start to relax a little. “Good” Tamamo said as she rubbed me on the back. “We are almost at my village now” she followed up with excitement! I saw the back of a house. It was made of wood, one floor, not very big, and a few windows. Tamamo then said “I have to enter the back of my house so no other yokai see you.” Me and Tamamo enter the back of the house through a glass door. “Welcome to your new home Zack” Tamamo said while hugging me. I assume Yokai would be fairly primitive with technology, but the house had quite a bit of technology I would find in my home. It had lights, a ceiling fan, and freezer. It even had a computer and game system to my surprise. However, the technology was somewhat behind. The oven appears to be powered by charcoal, and judging from the back of the box for one of the games, the graphics on the game system appear to be on par with a N64 just without the shitty textures. “Are you Impressed Zack?” She asked. “More than what I was expecting” I replied. “Good! you must be hungry, why don’t I cook up something for both of us” Tamamo said with excitement. Tamamo opened the freezer and got raw chicken. She put it in the oven. Then she lifted her hand and had her 2 main fingers and thumb about ready to touch each other. Then a small piece of fire suddenly popped up. She chucked it into the oven igniting it. She then turned to me. I still had a bit of uneasiness. I realized that yokai are afraid that if a human finds one of their settlements, they will tell other humans and be hunted. Yet, she basically forced me to come to one of her settlements. Maybe she might hold me for ransom so that if humans find this place, she will use me as a hostage to get the humans to back off. However, that doesn’t make sense as I could still escape and make things worse for this village. Also, I doubt that tactic would work long term. Or other humans could just forget about me and attack anyways and I die. Humans are full of shit sometimes, so that wouldn’t surprise me. However, I also haven’t really seen much of the village anyways. I tried looking out the window next to the front door. However, I couldn’t see much at this angle. Tamamo then said something to me “Go ahead look out the window. Just don’t show too much of your face out there. I moved closer to the window to see what out there. There was a stone road out there. I saw a few other houses that looked similar to this one. But my eyes were glued to the yokai's. I saw a black tengu girl out there. I saw a wolf girl as well and a male oni. There was even a kappa out there. The village appeared to be somewhat large as there were at least a few dozen yokai. “Do you like what you see?” Tamamo said. “Yeah, it's a little interesting,” I replied. Tamamo giggled. Well Dinner is not far from finish. She used her fingers to create another small piece of flame, and she flung it into the oven. “See this is my spiritual power” Tamamo said enthusiastically. “Fanisanting” I said with excitement. “Oh this is nothing compared to my overall powers” Tamamo replied. “Anyways dinner is finally finished” Tamamo said. She brought the cooked chicken over to the table and we both sat down. Tamamo took a leg for herself, and she gave me the other. I took a bite into it, and it tasted better than any chicken made by a human. “It tastes good doesn’t it Zack?” Tamamo asked. “My fox fire that I used to heat the oven went into the food enhancing it taste” she followed up on. We both ate until there was nothing left. At this point it was getting dark. “Come here Zack” Tamamo said by the back door. We both sat down next to each other. Tamamo couldn’t help but leen against me. Tamamo began to tell me something “You know Humans and Yokai aren’t much different from each other despite how we all treat each other. “I don’t know, I can’t use spiritual power like you,” I replied. “Yes you can” Tamamo said! “it’s just really hard for you to learn and you can’t wield it that well” Tamamo followed up on. “Well actually it is possible for you to wield spiritual powers that are on par with yokai; however, the few that achieved that sometimes became yokai simpithers and with a little help became yokai” Tamamo continued. “Who were those humans” I asked? “Pristist, yokai hunters, humans who seek us out and kill us,” Tamamo grimly said. “Many Yokai settlements originated in Asia; however, hunters became so rampant that many moved to other nations like America. We even learned the language and a bit of culture. We were hoping they wouldn't expect to find us here. However, we believe that they might be catching on recently. In the last 5 years we found some pristist getting close to a few settlements. We had to kill them before they told any other priest,” Tamamo continued. “I never knew Yokai and yokai hunters existed,” I told Tamamo. “I’m not surprised by that, it tells us we did a good job hiding,” Tamamo replied. “However, we unfortunately have to kill any humans that come near this village” Tamamo said in remorse. “I might have to kill you Zack,” Tamamo said sadly. I immediately freaked out. Then Tamamo said “However it depends on the offer I am giving you. Zack….. If you want to live you must…. Become a yokai.” my face immediately lit up. “You see I mention it is possible for people with high spiritual power to become a yokai with help from other yokai; however, average humans with little to no spiritual power are near impossible. The survival rate is extremely low, often putting the human in extreme pain before death. I know fox spirits are not the nicest to humans, but we do not put humans through extreme cruelty. However, we don’t like killing humans either” Tamamo explained. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. This is kind of fucked up. “However, I discovered a way to turn humans into yokai with a guaranteed change of survival. I am a highly skilled fox spirit after all and I don’t want to kill you. I captured you to try it out on you, but I really began to like you. You are full of charm and you are a friend to me. I know this is hard for you, but I really don’t want you to die” Tamamo said, hugging me. I was totally shocked, a part of me wanted to accept, but I don’t know what will be in store for me as a yokai. Then Tamamo said “ You don’t have to accept today or tomorrow, I’ll even give you a week to consider. However, do you trust me, do you like me, are you considering it?”

RWBY Ancestries Chapter 3
* So I want to apologize to those who have been waiting for me to update, I wanted to upload this close to the last chapter but I recently got the flu over the weekend and still am recovering. But to bring out the pacing of this story, the big reveal probably won’t occur until chapter 5. Mostly to get a feel for how the characters are going to be feeling before the big reveal and because it’s Salem of all people coming to Atlas, you need to set a good canvas in sense, no rushing here. Anyway on to the story!
- In Mantle, Unknown Building -
Mercury: So let me gets this straight. The Queen of Grimm, your boss, just found out that she has a living relative, and in that excitement decided to say ‘fuck it’ with the plan to get the relic and come here to have somekind of a family reunion? Did I get all that right, doc?
Watts: (Groan) While I would have worded that more tacitly, yes that is correct.
Mercury: (Nods) I see, so on a scale of one to ten, how fucked are we?
Emerald: (Whispers) Look Mercury, maybe this is a good thing? We don’t have to retrieve that dusty old heirloom anymore, and to top it all off maybe her ‘highness’ won’t be so threatening?
Watts: I wouldn’t count on that goodwill too much. Now that Ironwood knows that she is coming, it’ll make our escape more difficult. I’ve never seen her act with such abandon and she seems completely oblivious to any of her other goals.
Tyrian: (Humming)
Mercury: (Looks at the joyful psycho, then to Watts) What’s he so happy about?
Tyrian: (Decides to cut in) Oh? Lil ol me? I’m just happy that my theory about the blonde knight became a reality.~
Emerald & Mercury: (Ō_Ō)
Watts: (Facepalms) You see children our dear associate here has been holding a belief that the boy was in some form or another had a relation to our ‘wonderful goddess’
Tyrian: And for so long! The good doctor here as been chastising me that my theory was ‘work of fiction and obsession’ he said. But guess what?~ I’m the the one proven right in this matter! And I’m just basking in my genius?
Watts: What you mean is you got lucky and for once one of your preposterous theories was correct! Just because you’re right about this one doesn’t mean your other ones are right either!
Tyrian: You say that but we both know that you are just petty that I was right and you were wrong!~
Watts: Ok to go back to the subject at hand, we are going to need to improve our escape from the kingdom as I’m sure that Salem is too preoccupied to other matters to concern herself with us.
Mercury: So how do we that, steal a airship?
Watts: Of course not what do you take me for an amateur? No. We’re not stealing an airship, in fact I have a newly acquired friend with bottomless pockets who can give us the aid we need.
- Atlas Academy, 45 minutes before Wyvern arrival -
Teams RWBY and JNPR are in the girls dorm so the team leaders can properly explain the situation to their teammates.
Yang: You know I always figured that one day we’d probably have to face Salem, it’s just... didn’t think it be so soon. (Chuckles unhumorously)
Ren: Did General Ironwood say what exactly is the plan. The last time we encountered a Wyvern... it didn’t end well for anyone.
Ruby: (Exhales) Look everyone I know how much this situation is bringing back bad memories, myself included, but we’re not the same first years we were all those years ago. We’re a lot stronger than when we’ve first started and now we have enough experience to deal with this. But if anyone has anything to say before we head out that door... now would be a good time as any.
Silence fills the room for a few moments.
Ocsar: (Stands up from his sitting position, everyone directs his attention towards him) Everyone, I know I haven’t been apart of this group long, heck I haven’t even been a hunter in training until about a few months ago. But I just want you all to know one thing.
Oscar gathers up his courage.
Oscar: I’ve always lived on a farm, and didn’t know too much about the outside world. In fact the only thing I ever knew about huntsmen was from old stories my uncle used to tell me. Though for some reason it always seemed like a fairy tale to me. But then I got reincarnation of an old wizard inside my head, I left my home to go off an quest to save the world, I met a group of people who would become some of the best friends I could ask for. I know it hasn’t been easy and it’s been hard for everyone, but I just want you all to know... I’m glad to here with all of you in the end.
Nora: ... End? Who says this is the end? I mean sure we know you-know-who can’t be killed but that doesn’t mean it’s the end. I mean we’ve come this far, it’s like Ruby said we’re stronger than we were before. So why don’t we just show that Grimm lady just how strong were are.
Nora stands up as well and stands beside Oscar. Pats his right shoulder.
Nora: And don’t you worry hun’ we’ll be there with you all the way.
This motivates the remaining members of of the group to stand as well.
Weiss: I must say you two really have a way with words for when it counts.
Yang: Yeah don’t think we could put it together guys.
Blake: Besides well have each other’s backs.
Everyone stands in a circle and extends their dominant hands for a team huddle.
Ruby: No matter what happens, we’re all coming out of this alive, whatever it takes.
Both teams break and start heading out the door, only with the exception of the two team leaders.
Jaune: ... Whatever it takes huh? Can’t help but feel like you were directing that at someone in particular.
Ruby: (Directs her attention towards him) I was saying that to everyone. But maybe I needed to say it loud enough for someone in particular to notice.
Jaune: (Chuckles) Guess that makes two of us.
A silence emits from both of them.
Jaune: Well guess we should go meet them.
He moves to head out the door, but gets stopped by a hand on his chest plate. Jaune looks down and looks at the owner of his roadblock.
Ruby: I never got to say what I needed to say.
Jaune: ... (Mods for her to continue)
Ruby: (Deep breath) I wanted say thank you for always being here. I know I don’t need to say it, but I want to. You have been with me these past two years and we’ve both been through trial after trial together, when you easily didn’t need to. I’ve seen you at your lowest and at your best, and I’ve seen how much you’ve grown.
Ruby: (Exhales) What I’m trying to say is, I don’t want this to be the only memories I have of you. I want to see you become exactly like the huntsman of your dreams and I want to see you grow in the years to come. (Starts to tremble) And I want to be there to see it too. Even if the situation we are currently may imply not all of us are going to make it tonight, I still want to hold onto that dream where we’re both greatest hunter and huntress and we make it past the dark days and that we-
Jaune cuts her off to bring her into a hug. After a little bit she wraps her arms to his shoulders.
Jaune: You’ve been holding that in for awhile haven’t you?
Ruby: (Nods into his chest)
Jaune: I don’t envy the burden you carry, but just remember one thing. (He gently nudged her chin to look up at him) You don’t need to carry it alone. I’m still your co-team leader so if things ever get too much, you can talk to me. Trust me, like I trust you.
Ruby: (Stays silent for a moment before nodding) I will. Sorry, I guess I’ve been acting as a leader for so long I’ve kind of forgotten that I have another leader who I can confide to.
Jaune: (Smirks) That’s what I’m here for Crater-Face.
Ruby: (Smiles) But just so you know that goes two ways, Vomit-Boy.
Jaune: (Changes smirk to a genuine smile) Whatever you say.
A silence is left in the room between the two leaders and friends. Momentarily forgetting they haven’t let go of each other. That is until something broke up their tranquil moment.
Nora: Oh my Gods! Are you two gonna kiss already! The suspense is killing me!
The two immediately break apart and look at the source of the interruption, who was none other than the pink bomber. And she wasn’t alone.
Weiss: Dolts the both both of you, we have a literal crisis at our doorstep and here you two are acting like Jake and Rosie from Titanica. (She tries very hard to sound annoyed but fails to hide her smirk)
Both leaders blush up a storm at the former heiress’s reference to an age old romance/drama movie. They quickly try to diffuse the situation.
Ruby/Jaune: U-um well you see, he/she was feeling under the weather so I tried to encourage him/her. Wait what! I was encouraging you not the other way around, stop repeating after me. I’m not repeating, your repeating! Aaaaah!
Nora/Weiss: (Smiles at the sure density of both leaders, before they start laughing)
Ruby: (Pulls up her hood to hide her blushing) L-Look Weiss is right we need to head out soon. Can’t waste any time on preparation.
Jaune: (Looks up in opposite direction to avoid eye contact from the red reaper) Y-yeah, we should all get going.
Neither of the two move an inch for a moment then both make their way to the door and bump each other on the way.
Ruby/Jaune: S-sorry!
Without another word both starts making their way towards the others.
Weiss: (Sighs) Honestly I don’t see why they try to hide what they obviously feel towards each other. It’s almost like they’re deliberately trying to avoid the subject of confessing when it’s obvious for others to see.
Nora: I think they’re just afraid that being more than friends will be the end of their friendship, but they obviously don’t have much experience in dating life to know that isn’t true. At least most of the time.
Weiss: Ah so like Ren and you for the the longest.
Nora: (Blushes In embarrassment) You have been hanging out with Yang far too long.
Both teammates make their way to towards their leaders anticipating the battle ahead of them.

- Bonus Clip -
On the disguised airship supplied by Neo’s Semblance, both Cinder and her make their way to the kingdom of Atlas.
Neo: (Has a very concentrated face and focuses to keep the ship hidden)
Cinder: I must say you have really outdone yourself with this new trick of yours. We’ve been traveling across the Atlesian border for an hour now and no one has flagged our ship so far.
Neo: (Holds one hand up to stop Cinder’s praise, motioning she needs total concentration)
Cinder: Ah yes, of course, I’ve seem to forgat that little bit of this new skill of yours. But only for a little while longer, once we’re inside of Mantle we can begin the next step in our plan for revenge.
The two continue to fly through the landscape and make it past what should have been the first check point for Atlas’s military to check incoming airship. However, after what was five minutes no one had attempted to hail their ship. This fact, makes Cinder confused.
Cinder: Something is not right.
Neo: (Taking a glance at Cinder, she gives a questioning look)
Cinder: It’s quiet, and we haven’t had anyone attempt to hail this ship for identification.
Neo: (Gives Cinder a more questionable expression)
Cinder: What I mean is when have you ever heard of someone making it across Atlas’s order without interruption?
Another five minutes pass before Cinder looks towards Neo again.
Cinder: Drop the illusion.
Neo: (Now looks at Cinder like she’s crazy)
Cinder: Just do as I say and drop the illusion.
Neo: (Hesitant but ultimately drops the illusion around their ship)
After waiting for a short while, both start to become concerned.
Cinder: ... (Sets the ship to auto pilot) I’m going outside.
Cinder makes her way out of helm of the ship and makes her way towards outside on the deck. What she sees honestly shocks her. Numerous of Atlas’s defense systems are destroyed and judging from all the scorching and smoke something large had attacked this place long before they’d arrived. Neo comes joins Cinder to see what’s all the commotion about, once seeing all the destruction she gains a surprised and horrified expression.
Cinder: It appears that our plan may have become more complicated.

Beauty and the Beast AU - Demon!Dean Winchester
We'll see how this goes! I'm using she/her pronouns for this fic, just to keep it like the original story.
Characters (As they appear): Fem!reader, reader’s father, Gabriel, Metatron, Michael, Zachariah, Demon!Dean
Summary: You are seen as the oddball around town, you're into books and other nerdy things that the small town you were raised in just don't get. You dream of going on the road and having adventures, but it's unlikely you can because you don't have a lot of money. Your father runs a house renovating business and goes to a job in the spooky abandoned house in the woods. You see where I'm going from here.
-------------------------------------------------
Legend tells of of a town, just like one you may know. There was a hero known through out the land for his selflessness and his righteousness. But in times of great peril he sought help from a dark force to go against a greater evil, Cain. With the help of an unlikely accomplice, the hero took the Mark of Cain. The Mark turned our hero into a dangerous foe, scaring family and friends with his unpredictability. But our hero lost the fight against the evil Metatron and died. In a turn of events our hero rose from the grave, but he was not the same person. His eyes black as night and powers beyond anything anyone had ever seen. He began to burn and pillage anything he could find in the name of destruction. His friends and family chased him down into an abandoned house in the woods. With the help of divine intervention everyone in the house was trapped. As our hero lives with the Mark he will fall deeper and deeper into the darkness, farther from his humanity. His brother has a cure, but fears what our hero is capable of. Our hero hides alone in the house, isolating himself from those he cared for most. Only true love could tame him and bring back his humanity. But who could ever love a beast?
-
Did I think I was still going to be in this tiny town after I graduated college? No. But here I was. In the same tiny room, in the same tiny house, in the same tiny town. I suppose it would have to do until I found a job I didn't despise and made enough money doing side jobs so I could leave this place. My father and I shared this tiny house. One bedroom, one bathroom, one basement. I was given the office space in the house for my room. It was small and crowded, but I had to say it had its perks. Well, more singular: perk. One entire wall was bookshelves to house my many, many books. Majority fiction. If I couldn't have adventures on my own, I would join other characters on theirs.
I had woken up, fifteen minutes before my alarm, as usual. My dad said it was from stress, but I wasn't really stressed too much. Not really. The only thing that stressed me out was the fact that I was going into town for the farmer’s market and I wanted to avoid two certain individuals. I got dressed, I had been going for a more boho vibe lately, so today it was a long, floral skirt, black T-shirt, and some slip on sneakers. It was still warm out so I wanted to take advantage of it. Late September weather was unpredictable. The local weather station was talking about snow in the coming weeks and I really wasn't prepared for that to start.
I grabbed my large flannel bag and made my way too the kitchen. Dad was leaning against the counter, reading the local paper.
"Morning, pops." I called, "Any spicy gossip?" Small towns meant gossip was put into the newspaper, which I couldn't decide was terrible or not considering everyone knew about it anyway.
"Oh you bet, there's two sections worth of business about the monkshood going missing all over town. Which... I don't see how that's relevant." He said, taking a gulp from his coffee.
"Sounds like the resident werewolf was having none of it." I joked. Then something caught my eye, cupcakes on the counter.
"Oh did someone get a special delivery?" I winked, bumping hips with him. His face went red, he started scratching his beard to distract himself.
"Uh na- oh yeah. Mrs. Barber dropped them off this morning. Said she had some left over from the bake sale at the high school." He lied.
"It's Ms. Barber, dad. And she definitely has a thing for you. Why don't you give her a wink every once in a while?" I said, leaning over and taking one from the tray.
"Oh I don't know..." He said. Ever since mom left us, he's been nervous about getting back into the dating scene.
"Just sayin'." I shrugged and made my way out the door.
"What's the cupcake for? It's 10am?" He called as I shut the door. The cupcake was for our mail man. The man had an incredible sweet tooth. He was a huge patron of the bakery. And right on time, here came the mail truck. The only mail truck at our post office.
"Hey Gabe!" I smiled as he parked. He got out, smoothing back his brown hair. He had a smile that was contagious.
"Hey there, (Y/N). Is that for me?" He pointed to the cupcake in my hand.
"Of course, anything for my favorite messenger." He chuckled, taking it and replacing my empty hand with our mail.
"You spoil me." He smiled and took a bite. "So uh, where ya off too?" He leaned against the front end.
"Farmer's market and the library."
"So veggies and the same book you always get?" He said, licking his fingers of frosting.
"I don't need your judgement." I rolled my eyes, starting to make my way towards town.
"Thanks again!" He said, getting into his truck and continuing on his route.
I waved back, making my way past the neighboring houses and into the heart of town. The whole town was out and about. Everyone I passed seemed to look and whisper, it was the reality we lived in. I was the girl whose mom left without a trace. I was the girl who lived in her own little world of books and fantasies. I was different and odd compared to everyone else. But that was okay... Or at least that's what I keep telling myself.
The main Street was blocked off for the market. I crossed the street and pushed open the door to the library. It was a small shop, there were a few shelves and a register. In the back corner was a reading nook with a soft recliner chair that I knew very well and probably had my butt print in it. After I set my last read in the return box, I made my way towards the section I was looking for. The book had no title and no author, just a single rose on the front. I think that's what drew me to it. It was a story about a guy and girl who meet and she doesn't realize that he is her true love. I could quote this book, it was my favorite. Far off places, daring sword fights, magic spells, a prince in disguise. I held it close to me and moved towards the front where the librarian sat. He was an older man, a little odd looking but didn't seem like he could do any harm. He had told me his name was Met. A little strange but who was I to judge. He was hunched over on the desk, looking down through the glasses at the end of his nose. Met said he had read every book in the library more that 5 times which is why I think we got along.
"Good morning, Met." I greeted him, setting the book and my library card on the counter.
"That book again?" He said, not even looking up from his book.
"I can't help it. It's my favorite." I grinned, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it again.
"You know what? Just keep it. No charge." He said, looking up at me with a knowing look in his eyes.
"What? No, I couldnt-" I started. I hated that I was refusing but I just couldn't take it.
"I insist. You've read that book more than I have, which is saying something. I know you'll give it a good home." He smiled. I took the book and hugged it close.
"Thank you, thank you so much." I gushed, carefully sliding the book in my bag, "I'll see you around!" He waved as I left the shop, a new spring in my step.
-
There were the usual crowd in the market. The baker, the various farmers and Crafters. I made my way, stall to stall, chatting and picking up a few things. I preferred shopping this way, I could help out the community and get fresh produce, win win. The only issue was I accidentally made eye contact with the town pretty boy, Michael and his goon Zach.
Michael was the town hero. He was a good hunter and all around charmer. He was tall, dark, and handsome. Meaning every girl in town was in love with him. Except me, considering that I think getting by on your looks and being macho wouldn't be a great match for me, who finds more attraction in personality and, well, a brain. He and his goon Zach were odd friends, considering Zach looked like he was old enough to be Michael's father. Michael had this odd obsession with the fact that I wasn't obsessed with him. I had heard from the rumor mill that he had a crush on me and no thank you.
I quickly darted through the crowd, hoping he couldn't follow. I circled back towards my house. But as soon as I made it to the drive way:
"Hello, (Y/N)." Michael said, he was laying on the charm early this time. He was also, right behind me. I turned, holding onto my bag.
"Hello, Michael." I smiled stiffly. If I kept things short, maybe he would go away.
"Listen, I was thinking that we should go back to my place and talk. I havea few things I would like to dicuss." I clicked my tongue, stepping away from him.
"Maybe another time. I have to help my dad with a few things."
"Heh, that guy needs all the help he can get!" Zach laughed.
"Hey! Don't talk about my father like that!" I shouted, rolling up my sleeves to punch this dick a new one when Michael stepped forward and punched Zach in the shoulder, "Yeah, don't talk about her father that way!" He turned back to me, "Now, I know how you feel about me."
I raised an eyebrow, "You could not possibly have a clue." I continued, "Listen, I gotta go, nice talking to you, bye!" I hurried inside, making sure to lock the door behind me. I set my bag on the counter, carefully placing items in their places when I spotted a note on the counter.
Gone to the old house in the woods. Be home for dinner.
Love Dad.
Dad renovated old houses and made them new. He was just the run of the mill Property Brother, without the twin and real estate practice. The house he was referring to was this huge mansion that was in the woods. It used to be the home of this really rich guy back in colonial times, like pre-America. The guy never had any kids so it was just left to be abandoned and rot. Some people said it was haunted, but who would want to haunt that place? It was falling apart.
I shrugged and went about my day as usual. I made a snack from the delicious apples I got, read a little, tidied up around the house, and made dinner. But... Dad was late. Sure, he had been home late before but never this late. A hour turned into hours. I tried his cell phone but it just went to voice mail each time. So there I was anxiously sitting at the table, my foot about to wear a hole in the carpet from how much it was shaking. I just kept refreshing my messages, hoping that he would text me saying he was late or stuck somewhere.
"That's it." I stood up and gathered my things. I shoved the first aid kit, my phone, and a few other things in my bag before making my way to the garage. It was a two car garage, one spot for dad's work truck and another for my 1999 Thunderbird, a car that definitely did not live up to its name. I started the car, opened the garage and left, almost not pausing to close it.
It was just getting to be dusk, the sky was just beginning to fade to night when I got to the house. When I pulled up the long, winding driveway, far off the road, I saw dad's truck. I opened my door and looked around the car. Maybe he could have slipped and knocked himself out.
"Dad?" I called, looking around. His took box wasn't in the passenger seat, meaning he was probably inside. Holding my bag tightly by the strap I got closer. In the time it had taken to get here, it had chilled significantly. I really should have grabbed a jacket. The house was... Menacing to say the least. The white faded paint was chipping off, the columns on the front porch were near collapse. The wooden stairs creaked as I made my way up to the ajar door.
"Hello?" I called, peaking me head inside. I used my phone flashlight to look around. There was graffiti on the walls from kids who really should take an art class. Their pentagrams could use some work. There was stuff strewn all over. Lots of papers and other things.
"Dad?" I called again but cursed myself when I heard creaking. I am literally that girl in every horror movie. Let's go to the haunted house and call out to someone and then get straight up murdered. I am literally so stupid. I silently crept closer to the stairs, they probably led down to the basement.
"(Y/N)?" I heard dad's voice echo from below.
"Dad!" I called back, rushing down the stairs. As I got lower, the atmosphere seemed to change from a old house to almost a bunker. Metal lined the stair case as I went down further and further.
When I made it to the bottom I looked around in shock. This place was practically brand new. Hardwood floors, nick knacks lining the shelves. There was a kitchenette in the corner with a white marble island.
"(Y/N)!" Dad called again, the sound coming from a narrow hall that led to a bookshelf. I could hear my dad calling from behind it.
"Grab a book!" He shouted.
"A book? What does that-" I started grabbing books, pushing them away to see a door but instead, when I grabbed a copy of Arabian Nights there was a low groan from the wall. I took a step back as the wall swung back to reveal a secret room. It was a circular concrete room and as soon as I walked in goosebumps rose on my arms. Dad was tied to a chair in the middle of the room.
"Dad..." I ran up to him, "Oh thank God you're alright! What happened? Who did this?" I said, moving around him to get at the ropes.
"We gotta get out of here, kid, this guy isn't human. He'll kill us both." He whispered. What kind of an asshole takes a nice guy like my dad and locks him up? A psycho, that's who. My dad coughed, it was wet and loud and too much for my liking.
"God, it's freezing in here, you're going to get sick." I said, finally starting to loosen the ropes.
"Well, well...." I froze at the new voice. It was deep and cocky sounding, "Look what the cat dragged in." I stood up to face this guy. He was just Out of view of the light, all I could see were his nose and the smirk on his face. He was wearing a red button down, dark jeans and boots.
"Look, I don't know who you are or what you want but we don't have anything to give. Please, he's getting sick, you can't keep him here." I pleaded, holding my dad's shoulder to keep up this confidence I was trying to portray.
"What he deserves, breaking into my place, snooping around." The stranger said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"He was just doing his job, this house is abandoned!" I shouted, taking a step forward.
"Baby, please..." Dad whispered urgently, "Just go, it's me he wants, don't let yourself get wrapped up in this."
"I can't leave you here, I won't." I said, crouching down and holding his hands. They were so cold and I could feel him shaking. Dad's eyes were so dull, his teeth were chattering.
Rage built up in my chest as I stood to meet the stranger again.
"Who do you think you are, keeping him here like this?" I spat, "Come into the light, coward."
"(Y/N)!" My dad shouted in a warning voice. The stranger only chuckled and shook his head. He stood up from where he was leaning on the door frame and took a step forward. My jaw tightened and my eyes widened. The only thing I could focus on was his eyes. They were pitch black. No pupil, no Iris, just black. I quickly recovered my glare and stood my ground, even as he came close to me. He smelled off, like rotten eggs. On his arm there was a strange mark that seemed to glow red. In his hand he held a odd weapon. It was the jaw bone of some type of animal attached to a handle. There were even teeth still attached.
"And what do you intend to do with that? Club me until it breaks?" I smirked, again that confidence I was trying to portray. But was intimidation the right choice in this situation? I didn't care. He seemed like another smug asshole that could get whatever he wanted from his looks whoever or whatever he was.
He hummed under his breath, lifting the weapon to his open palm. He dragged it down, and I watched it slice open his palm. But as soon as blood appeared from the cut, it disappeared as if it healed itself.
And confidence gone.
"Look, sweetheart, this isn't about you. But you're doing a number on my patience. So get the hell out." He motioned to the door.
I looked at the door, then back to my father. I couldn't leave him here. No matter how much this guy scared me. I had no other choice.
"Let my dad go, I'll take his place." I said quickly, "Do whatever you want, just let him go."
"No! I won't let you do this." Dad said, leaning forward to struggle.
"I won't let you rot down here. Let me do this." I couldn't look at him in the eye.
The stranger took my chin in his hand, making me meet his eyes, the black void of nothingness. It made me think of death and despair.
"You sure about this?" He asked, he lowered his voice, "You sure you want to take his place?"
I nodded, "Please, let him go." I whispered, my voice was on the verge of shaking. The stranger grinned and let go of my face. He went around my dad with the weapon, in a quick slice, the ropes fell away. He grabbed my dad by the shirt, lifting him from the seat and pulling him to the door.
"Don't hurt him!" I shouted.
"I'll come back for you, (Y/N), I'll get help!" Dad called, his voice fading as the hidden door shut behind them.
Oh God...
I slowly sat on the chair, the dread setting in.
"What have I done?"

#5 soldier with zhanna or demo?
(OKAY this was another one where I got carried away because I couldn’t decide between Soldier/Zhanna and Demo/Soldier so I compromised and made them a poly ship, I hope that’s okay with you!!! I just love the idea of the three of them as a ship ahdjbhsbhskhskbhsjhssjsh ANYWAY I hope you like it!!!!!)
5. In the middle of some kind of tense situation, Person A has to help Person B give birth to their baby.
“Jane, ye should go to bed...” Demo watched him from the doorway, his tone almost exasperated when he spoke.
Soldier just stared out the window, gun at his side and a glare in his eyes. “If those bounty hunters think they can just come after us,” he spat through gritted teeth. “They’ve got another thing coming!”
Demo sighed, crossing the hallway to place his hand on Soldier’s arm. “Jane, look— the others are gonnae handle ‘em! What we’re supposed ta do is just stay here with Zhanna and look out for anythin’, yeah? But we’re safe, ye can go to bed. It’s awful late,”
Soldier exhaled loudly through his nostrils, and he pursed his lips together. “Fine,” he agreed after a moment, lowering the gun and standing. “But I will keep this at my beside!”
“Aye, that’s fine,” Demo nodded, and he placed a hand on his shoulder to lead him to bed. “C’mon, now, you need ta sleep...”
The bedroom they were sharing was cramped, but comfortable, and they didn’t mind at all. When Soldier climbed into the rickety, wire-framed bed, Zhanna was already laying there, and she reached for Soldier when she saw him.
“There you are,” she remarked lazily, stroking his hair. “Any men you shoot?”
Soldier shook his head. “Not tonight...maybe another night!” He kissed her on the lips, and then kissed her rounded belly. “But it’s my sworn duty to keep you safe,”
Zhanna let out a little laugh, guiding his head back up to kiss him back. “Mm, and you do very good job! But I will protect myself, have done it for years,”
Demo climbed into bed beside them, rolling over to talk to them. “No one doubts you, lass, but we need to be extra careful with ye, yeah?”
“Yes, I am aware,” sighed Zhanna. She wasn’t exactly pleased with being treated as though she were fragile just because she was pregnant, but she understood why. Still, she kept a knife on the nightstand, to be safe.
Demo leaned over to switch the light off, saying, “Now, we should get some shuteye for the night. Tomorrow’s a brand new day,”
Soldier let out a hum, pulling both Zhanna and Demo towards him and cuddling them. “I will tear apart any commies who try to hurt you two,” he crooned, and he took turns kissing their foreheads.
Zhanna grinned into Soldier’s chest as Demo chuckled in response, and he yawned, “We know, Jane. Get to sleep, now,”
Eventually, they all feel asleep, with Soldier sandwiched in between the two people he loved the most (soon to be three).
Roughly two hours later, though, Zhanna awoke to a great feeling of unease. She hadn’t heard or seen anything, but as she sat up in the dark, she just had a sense that something was off.
She got out of bed, taking the knife off the nightstand and leaving the bedroom, heading down the short hallway to the kitchen. Eventually, she paused in the kitchen, waiting, listening.
Something outside was making a ‘thump’ sound. Zhanna peered out the window, knife still in hand, not making any noise whatsoever. Though she saw no one, she just could feel someone was there. She began to plan in her head what she was going to do: she would go back to the bedroom, wake up Soldier and Tavish, and they would blow those intruders into mere pieces of—
She gasped, gripping the counter when a spasm of pain flashed through her. She paused, placing a hand on her belly, her brows knitting together. Was she...? Oh, but it was so early! It couldn’t be, not yet, anyway!
All of the sudden, she could hear the front door opening. She paused, turning to slowly look over her shoulder, glaring out at the door. Her hand gripped the knife so tightly her knuckles almost turned white, but she stood her ground and waited.
A man dressed in all black slipped in through the front door, moving slowly, looking around, but almost instantly he noticed Zhanna standing in the kitchen. They stared at each other in the darkness, saying nothing for a long moment. Then, Zhanna saw him raise something, and when it glinted in the darkness she knew it was a gun.
He fired, but she ducked quickly and tossed a rolling pin from the counter directly at him. It nailed him in the face, and he let out a yell, dropping the gun to the floor.
Zhanna darted back into the bedroom, shouting, “There is man here! He has gun!”
Tavish and Soldier had already bolted out of bed, and Solider grabbed his gun and rushed out to where Zhanna had previously been. “Hands up, intruder!” Soldier barked, aiming the weapon at the stranger. “Any last words!?”
The man only managed a, “I’m not alone—,” before Soldier shot him twice, rendering him lifeless before yanking his body up to snap his neck for good measure.
However, it was then that two other men burst in through the door, and one of them lunged at Demo. Demo, however, was prepared, and he tossed the attacker against the wall.
“Oh, ye picked the wrong house!” Demo sneered, pinning the man against the wall and beginning to choke him.
All of the sudden, the other man raised his weapon and fired, and Soldier cried out in shock. Demo whirled around, seeing that Soldier had just been shot in the shoulder, but he didn’t even have to do anything.
Zhanna leaped out from behind Soldier, tackling the man and snapping his neck in seconds. She screamed out some expletives in Russian before slamming him down to the floor and moving on to the man Demo had pinned. Demo let go of him, just long enough so Zhanna could wrestle his gun away and shoot him once in the chest.
Everything was silent after that, until Zhanna removed herself from the body and quickly knelt beside Soldier. “Oh, my Jane,” she breathed, feeling his wound with concern. “Oh, no...”
“I am fine, Zhanna!” Soldier assured, although he winced at the feeling of his wound. “Believe me, I have had much worse,”
Demo switched the light on, quickly grabbing the first aid kit down from the fridge and kneeling beside Zhanna and Soldier. “Let’s patch you up, lad! We dunnae want it to become infected...”
They spent a few minutes cleaning out Soldier’s wound, and once Demo removed the bullet he began to bandage him up. It was then, though, that Zhanna let out a pained grunt and braced herself against the floor, her teeth gritting.
Demo paused what he was doing to look over at her, a look of worry coming over his face. “...Zhanna?”
Soldier blinked, watching her. “What is it?”
Zhanna blew out a breath, her nails digging into the floorboards a little. She checked between her legs, before she replied, “The baby is pressing...”
“What!?” Demo’s mouth hung open, and he looked all around, trying to figure out some kind of response. “Oh, god, oh, shite—!”
Soldier pulled away, going to Zhanna’s side instantly and helping her up. “Get back on the bed! Now!”
“No!” Zhanna nearly barked at him, and she groaned, feeling between her legs. “No— couch, there,” she pointed to the battered, secondhand sofa. “Closer...”
Soldier unceremoniously dumped her on the couch, but she got into postiton and lifted the hem of her nightgown, checking herself again. “Ah— it’s very close!”
“Let me see!” Soldier took a peek, and he gasped, “Oh, dear God in heaven! Oh— oh, there’s hair!”
Demo made a mad dash for the bathroom, shouting over his shoulder, “Don’t push, Zhanna! I-I have to get towels and everythin’! I...” Demo scrambled around the bathroom cabinets, hands shaking as he grabbed a pair of scissors, clean towels, and the foot-washing basin, which he filled with warm water. “Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit...” he panted, mostly to himself, his hands shaking.
Zhanna, however, knew the baby was about to arrive, and that it was coming fast. She breathed deeply, her eyes pressing shut, and when the next contraction came she pushed right along with it, a whimper escaping her throat as she strained.
Soldier watched in fascination, looking between her legs again, and he let out a gasp. “Oh! I see it! It’s coming!” He got a little closer, staring, eyes wide. “Wow!” He glanced up to look at Zhanna’s face, and when he noticed how contorted her face was, and took her hand and squeezed it encouragingly.
“That’s right!” Soldier praised, voice pitching a little. “Bring the next American into the world! C’mon, you can do it!”
Zhanna took a moment to smile at him, her heart filled with affection, before she pushed one final time. She could feel the baby start to slide out, and she frantically exclaimed, “Catch it!”
Soldier let out a yell of surprise, catching the baby in his hands, mouth agape as he stared in shock. “Oh— oh, my god! Oh, my god, a baby!” He burst into sobs, his shoulders trembling. “We just had a baby!”
Just as Demo came running out of the bathroom with all the useful materials he could find, he almost dropped them in shock at the sound of the baby crying. He took a moment to observe: Zhanna was laying on the couch, legs spread, her head laid back against the arm of the sofa as sweat beaded her forehead, her chest heaving as she caught her breath. Soldier just stood there weeping, holding the wailing baby, cradling the little child in his arms.
Demo shook himself, laying down everything on the table and grabbing on of the towels. “Aye, give it!” He took the baby from Soldier, beginning to clean it off with the towel while clearing its airways. “Oh, what a set of lungs!”
Soldier wiped his eyes, his lower lip still trembling. “It’s a boy! Oh, my god, it’s a boy! I have a son! We have a son!”
Demo paused, and then shook his head. “No...no, Jane? That’s the umbilical cord, it’s a girl!”
“Oh,” Soldier pause, his face going flat, but after a second or two he grinned just as wide. “A baby girl! She’s so beautiful, I love her!” He stroked the little one’s head, watching as Demo cleaned her up and bundled her. “She’s perfect!”
Demo smiled warmly, settling her into the towel as her cries calmed into small whines. “She is, she really is!” He knelt beside the couch, handing the infant over to Zhanna. “Look,”
Zhanna lifted her head, and she broke out into a sobbing laughter, taking the little baby into her arms. “Baby!” She undid the first few buttons on her nightgown, laying the baby against her bare chest. “Oh, beautiful!” She sniffled, kissing the top of her head.
“You took that like a real champion,” Demo praised, and he kissed Zhanna’s forehead, stroking her hair. “So proud of you. How you feel?”
Zhanna sighed, her eyes closing, but she had a smile of relief on her face. “Tired...but, happy,” she giggled, grinning as she caressed the infants back. “Very happy!”
Soldier sat Zhanna up to hug her close, and he kissed her passionately. “I love you!” He exclaimed, grinning, before he turned to give Demo a passionate kiss as well. “And I love you! And you!” He hummed, leaning down to give the baby a kiss. “I would give my life for all of you,”
Demo wiped his eyes, and he wanted to reply, but he couldn’t somehow. He felt so full of love and light, there weren’t words to describe it.
Zhanna sat up a bit taller to feed the baby, adjusting her gown to the baby could latch, and she gestured to the phone on the end table. “Call Misha, tell him what has happened,”
Demo obliged, standing up and grabbing the phone, beginning to dial. Soldier just watched his daughter eat, a fascination in his eyes. “She’s going to be a warrior— I can see it already!”
Zhanna grinned, stroking Soldier’s head with her prosthetic hand. “Yes, like us,”

To the Ends of the Earth 4
Supernatural
A/n; AU Story that doesn’t go by the show. Out of character Gabriel
Link to Chapter 3
Words: 1,871
Pairings: Gabriel x Reader
_______
The next morning at breakfast you were silent as the grave. Dean was on his fourth waffle. Everyone else was eating in relative silence. You had woken up in a mood from hell! Maybe it was because you were still thinking about what Gabriel said. Were you really a silly girl for wanting to know the truth about soul mates? You didn’t think so. Apparently, Cas didn’t think so either! If he did, why would he have even bothered bringing the subject up? He could have easily thrown something in about you seeing things...but he didn’t.
You had been picking at the waffle that Dean put in front of you.
“You should eat.”
Gabriel said softly. You didn’t look up to meet your lover’s gaze. If you had looked at him then you would have seen the apologetic expression on his face.
“I’m not hungry.”
You muttered. Gabriel sighed. This was all going to hell! He knew that he needed to talk to you quickly but didn’t feel like doing this in front of an audience. The last thing that he really wanted to do was to tell you that you were his soul mate in front of Dean fucking Winchester! The stupid human-ape would never understand how sacred something like soul mates really was. He would never respect just how much Gabriel loved you...it would never be good enough!
“You really should eat, sugar. You didn’t eat dinner.”
Gabriel continued to mutter. You still didn’t look up.  Sam and Dean were watching like a couple of lions now. You didn’t have to look at your brothers to know what expressions were on their faces. If you had asked them to get rid of Gabriel, the archangel would probably be tossed out the door before he could react.
“What did you do to her?”
Dean snapped. He was ready to lunge across the table after Gabriel. Sure, it would be a stupid decision once Gabriel reacted but at the moment it would feel good for Dean.
“Have you been crying?”
Sam questioned. You finally looked up meeting their gazes before speaking.
“Just stay out of it and eat your waffles.”
Dean glanced over at Sam. They were internally trying to figure out just how to make Gabriel miserable.
“Oh hell to the fuck no! I am not staying out of shit when I see that your eyes are puffy. Gabriel, what the hell did you do to her?”
Gabriel gave Dean the best insolent expression that he could come up with. He crossed his arms over his chest.
“None of your business.”
You growled before standing up and storming out of the room.  The last thing that you wanted to deal with at the moment was Gabriel and your brothers arguing with each other. All three could be assholes. You didn’t want to see which one could be the biggest asshole.
Gabriel meanwhile, waited until you were gone before turning to face Dean. The eldest Winchester was frowning.
“You better start talking. Y/n is one of the nicest people ever. For someone to piss her off...boy you must have really done something stupid.”
“I haven’t done anything.”
Cas decided that maybe it was time for him to speak up. It was clear that Gabriel wasn’t going to contribute anything other than cold distant glares.
“Gabriel, tell them the truth. Y/n is their sister. They deserve to know.”
“Deserve to know what?”
Dean snapped. He was beginning to have enough! Since you had Gabriel, you turned into a person that Dean didn’t know. You would have never run off before! Never in a million yes! You would have been just happy sitting in the bunker doing research for cases.
Gabriel sighed.
“You want to know the truth? Fine. Y/n saw my wings. Does your small human brain know what that means?”
Dean looked thoughtful as Sam’s mouth dropped.
“You mean...you are…”
Gabriel smirked.
“You are the smart one. “
Dean turned to Sam.
“What the hell am I missing?”
Gabriel rolled his eyes, having enough. His golden eyes narrowed on Dean with an expression of pure disdain.
“She is my soulmate, you stupid ass!”
Dean was silent as the grave for about 40 seconds before going after the archangel. Whether it be Dean doing something so stupid or Gabriel actually feeling bad that Dean had to find out this way...Gabriel didn’t move.  When Dean successfully punched the archangel in the cheek and started cursing did Gabriel speak.
“Do you feel better now? You have gone and broken your hand because you wanted to act like a damn caveman. Congratulations. By the way, I didn’t feel anything. Who is the loser here? You.”
Dean shook his hand furiously.
“If it were your sister being cursed by some psycho I think that you would be pissed too.”
Gabriel raised an eyebrow before getting annoyed with Dean’s hands shaking. He snapped his fingers healing the eldest Winchester’s hand. If it were up to Gabriel, he would have left it broken.
“I am not a psycho. Furthermore, I had nothing to do with this. My father selected Y/n for me. Whenever you find him, thank him. If it weren’t for me, Y/n would have been seriously hurt on multiple occasions. I haven’t spent every year of her life watching her for shits and giggles.”
Dean gave Gabriel a disgusted frown.
“You’ve been watching her since day one? That’s kind of creepy. Now I am thinking that you are some kind of stalker.”
“Dean…”
Sam finally came in. Dean quickly rounded on his younger brother.
“Does it not freak you out that sparkles over here has been watching our sister?”
Sam held his hands out before sighing.
“Dean, that doesn’t matter. We can’t stop them from being together. Now that she has seen his wings....its...official. It's going to find a way. Life finds a way...it doesn’t matter if we like it or not.”
Dean scowled.
“When did you become some kind of weird minister? Better yet, stop quoting fucking Jurassic Park, you Jeff Goldbum want to be!”
Sam didn’t bother trying to talk to Dean at this point. His older brother was being irrational. Irrational Dean was about as enjoyable and drunk Dean! Sam turned and walked out of the room without another word. He didn’t want to be a part of this conversation anymore.
Meanwhile,
You walked into the hotel room. Jack stood in the kitchenette looking at a box of Nesquik powder.
“Uh hi.”
You said softly. Going into the room you wanted nothing more than to be alone for a bit. After watching Jack looking at the bottle of chocolate milk mix, you shrugged.
“You need some help?”
Jack looked up again.
“Dean said that this stuff was delicious. I don’t understand. I ate a spoonful and vomited. It was too gritty.”
You put a hand over your mouth as the realization that the kid was more innocent than you realized washed over.
“Oh honey, you don’t eat it out of the jar. You put it in milk.”
Jack blinked a few times before chuckling.
“Oh, I see.”
He snapped a glass of milk onto the table in front of him. Jack handed you a clean spoon with a small smile.
Oh hell, I am going to adore this kid.
You thought. Were Sam and Dean sure that Jack was Lucifer’s son? Were they 100% sure? What if he was some other angel’s kid and Lucifer just decided to say it was him?
“Yeah, he’s, unfortunately, my father.”
You gaped up at the boy.
“Jack...I’m sorry...I just…”
Jack smiled,
“Its okay! I am trying to figure that one out too! I think we could be fast friends! So you’re dating my uncle?”
You sighed.
“Yeah...I guess. I am apparently just some silly little girl.”
Jack sat down.
“Is this over the whole you seeing his wings thing?”
Your mouth dropped.
“How did you find that out?”
Jack shrugged.
“I kind of read Gabriel’s mind. He’s freaking out.”
Your face looked even more surprised. Surprised was putting it lightly. Now you felt even worse! Gabriel knew that you saw his wings and he called you a silly little girl?! This was awful!
“Excuse me, Jack. I have an archangel to kick in the ass!”
You stormed out of the room before Jack could say anything. He shrugged and went back to his chocolate milk.
“Me and my big mouth.”
5 minutes later you stormed into the hotel bar where Dean sat across from Gabriel. The two of them weren’t speaking instead they sat glaring at each.
“Sugar…”
Gabriel started as you walked over pointing your finger at him.
“I know that you don’t understand a lot of things that humans do and maybe I don’t understand a lot of things that archangels do ...but...I am really really mad at you! You lied to me and called me a silly girl, which is really offensive to me. You don’t think that I know what it means for me to see your wings? Well, you are soooooo wrong! Everyone here knows it. Jack for god’s sake knows it! Do you think that I am dumber than some child?! I am a hunter and I know angels...I know more than you think! Break this stupid bond since I am some silly little girl! I’ll show you silly little girl!”
Gabriel sat motionless looking at you with wide petrified eyes. He had never seen you this angry. In all of the years that he had been quietly guardian you, you were always the calm one in the room. Sure, you could get sassy and Gabriel often worried that would get you into trouble but you weren’t like Dean.
Trembling in rage, you turned and started for the door of the bar but stopped the moment that Michael walked in.
“Oh crap.”
You muttered as Gabriel was by your side in an instant. Michael’s attention turned to his brother.
“Gabriel, there you are. Oh my, you are in trouble.”
Gabriel’s hand was locked around yours. His eyes didn’t leave his brother’s face as he stepped closer to you.
“I’m sending you somewhere safe. I’ll catch up with you soon.”
Before you had a chance to argue with Gabriel’s plan, you found yourself sitting in the living room at the bunker. Sam, Dean, Cas, and Jack (who was still drinking a glass of Nesquik) stood looking as equally as confused. You jumped up from the couch before turning to Cas.
“I need you to get me back to Gabriel!”
Cas frowned.
“He has you locked here. I can’t do anything until he returns.”
“Then go back and drag him home!”
Cas sighed.
“Y/n, it isn’t that simple. I can’t drag an archangel anywhere.”
You ran a hand over your face before turning to go into the library to find a way to get back to Gabriel.
“Son of a bitch!”

7x08: Season Seven, Time for a Wedding!
Then:
Tumblr media
Sam Winchester deserves better
Now:
Las Vegas, Nevada
Dean’s enjoying the company of a grad student just trying to pay her bills. (Dean, what are you, 10 years her senior? Plz stop, your wrinkles are showing.) (And you’re a big fucking liar. You more than likely dropped out of school because it was too boring for your smart brain and your dad made you skip school for hunting trips so it became a two fold problem of you not keeping up with the school work load and you not seeing a reason to care to keep up with the school work load --only!! You got your GED so you must care on some level. Please enlighten us, Dean. #endrant) Dean unloads a ton of Winchester angst on the woman and then gets a text from Sam. He’s four blocks away and he wants Dean to meet him wearing his fed suit.
Dean heads to the Little White Chapel (it has a “24 hour drive up wedding window!” lol) Dean’s suspicious enough of the place to pull his gun. He finds Sam. Yay! Sam’s in LOVE y’all and he’s getting MARRIED! (Listen, we know the problems with this episode, but I’m going to lean real hard into the absurdity of the whole thing. My personal belief is to read this episode just like Red Meat. BECKY IS PROBLEMATIC AND WE’RE SUPPOSED TO SEE HER THAT WAY. It’s kinda curious that we’ve never seen her again...kinda like this episode closed the door on how this show views those types of fans. Ahem.)
Tumblr media
Just then Sam’s bride starts walking down the aisle. It’s Becky!
Tumblr media
Dean is VERKLEMPT. He wants to know how this happened. “We met, we ate and then talked and fell in love.” Dean points out to Sam that it’s no coincidence that Becky showed up during their annual Vegas week. (Sidenote: Where are all the fics on Dean and Sam’s Las Vegas week? You know, the one where Dean meets a fellow craps player and there’s a friendly competition and a warm banter and somehow they end up back at Dean’s hotel room and maybe there’s a real marriage that they both forgot about and they go their separate ways and 5 years later Dean’s gonna marry his good friend Lisa to help her out for something and discovers he’s already married so he has to track down this mysterious guy Cas and whoops, they’ve got so much in common and well ---I mean, the story just writes itself.) She’s read all the books. She knows them inside and out. Sam tells Dean to take a moment to realize that this is real. They’re heading back to Becky’s place in Delaware.
Tumblr media
Dean alerts Bobby to the situation as he’s heading out of town.
Becky and her new (and very attractive hubby) arrive at the Montgomery High School 10 year Class Reunion. Becky runs inside to buy tickets for the event. Also, she’s live tweeting her revenge plan it seems. She runs into Aaron Burr Guy (I mean, I’m not going to just breeze right past the fact that pre-Hamilton Leslie Odom Jr. was on Supernatural. WTF???). Becky introduces her good friend to her new husband (and Jared Padalecki is SO tall). He takes off to go inside and she runs to give him a hug and they exchange a mysterious vial.
Tumblr media
Away from Sam, she reveals that he’s a witch.
Dean rolls up to the reunion just as Sam and Becky are pulling away. He heads to a bar. He sees a paper with the headline “Truck Kills Pedestrian in Freak Accident”.
At Becky’s place, Sam starts to break out of the trance she has him in, so Becky adds more mysterious juice to his champagne and forces him to drink. All is CRaZy iN BeCKy LAnD.
Tumblr media
Cut to a baseball diamond where a dude is practicing hitting the ball. Another dude (that I KNOW has been in another episode of SPN) makes the ball machine go faster and then moves the ball machine over to hit the other guy in the head, breaking the fourth wall with blood. Lovely. #sportsball.
Dean brings his newly married brother a waffle iron (#bestgiftever).
Tumblr media
Dean’s got a case. It seems the baseball guy is part of it. Turns out, Sam and Becky are already working the case. Dean points out that people are having their dreams come true in this town, and then he looks to Becky. Dean can’t get through to his brother so he leaves.
Cut to Dean wanting to work with Bobby, but Bobby has other plans.
Cut to Becky Rosen being a 28 year old teenager creeper. Ugh. Sam’s made them fake ID’s (twu luv) and says “check this out” to her. UGH. He points out another potential victim. He also notices her notebook of hearts and weirdness. But he likes it! Yay!
Dean heads to meet the hunter Bobby assigned to help him. No spoilers or anything, but IT’S GARTH!
Tumblr media
Dean points out the case in the paper, but Garth needs to read Marmaduke first. OH GARTH.
They head to interview someone that just got a big promotion. Becky and Sam beat them to it. Becky and Dean exchange scowls. Sam and Garth exchange confused looks. Once in the interview, the guy doesn’t reveal much to Dean. Garth cuts right to the chase and asks if the guy made it to the top through “black magic or hoodoo.” Dean’s fake laugh GIVES ME LIFE. The guy admits that this isn’t his dream. Enter his wife: Hmmm. Dean and Garth catch up to the wife and Dean threatens her. “Why do people keep thinking I’m threatening them?” Oh, Dean Bean. The woman denies everything and takes off.
Tumblr media
Back at Becky’s place (their place now?) Sam mulls over the evidence. Becky delightedly plots a romantic getaway when Sam suddenly crumples. Oops, better put that lovey-dovey vacation on hold until you can drug your husband again! She’s dismayed to see that she can’t give him a fix because the potion has leaked out into her purse lining. Wherps.
Tumblr media
Dean saves the CEO’s wife from getting crushed by a falling light fixture at the company headquarters. Garth and Dean interrogate her and learn that she bargained with someone for her soul but lololol there’s no such thing as a soul so she got a great deal. Right? RIGHT?!! Garth makes plans to move her into witness protection - Garth style.
Sam’s doing increasingly poorly and Becky, desperate, beans him over the head with the waffle iron. Thanks for the gift, Dean! They used it already.
Tumblr media
He wakes up in a Misery situation, bound to the bed. (note to self: watch/read Misery someday instead of just casually referencing it.) (Boris: Uh, yeah!) Becky fawns over him while simultaneously not freeing him. She then flits off to chat with Guy, panicking about the potion. “This isn’t the honeymoon I had in mind,” she says before amending, “Well, some of it is.” UGH. She frets about them not consummating their marriage yet and...at least there’s that.
Becky heads in to talk to Sam, once again cloaked in denial. Sam tells her that she roofied him (no I didn’t) and that her witch friend is the one killing all their victims (no, he’s just a wiccan). She insists that the killer is something or someone else. Becky PLEASE.
Tumblr media
Sam tells her to wake up. “It's never something else. When are there ever two crazy things in town at the same time? Guy's the creep, and you're on his list.” Guy also fed her the line that the potion only works if Sam loves her “deep down,” to which Sam is incredulous. He tells her to untie him then, and in response she shoves a rag into his mouth. Yeah.
At the reunion restaurant, Becky meets up with Guy who starts to hand over the potion.
Tumblr media
Guy pulls the potion back at the last minute. “Let’s talk price.” Becky learns that they are NOT in fact, besties. Guy’s price for Sam’s devotion is her soul. She recognizes him as a crossroads demon and, inoculated by her fan consumption of Supernatural, Becky sits tight and listens even after his eyes flash red. Guy LOVES reunions. They’re perfect for trapping people who are desperate to impress their old classmates or improve their lives. Speaking of desperate, Guy gives Becky a special bargain: 25 years before her soul’s collected if she promises to never breathe a word to the Winchesters about her bargain.
Dean and Garth bust into Becky’s apartment. It’s empty, but Garth finds a webpage open to Twitter on her laptop, and her feed indicates that she’s going on a trip with her “hubster.” Dean finds a picture of Becky holding a fish in front of a cabin, Garth makes a nonsequitur on the creepy nature of fish eyes (I love you, Garth), and they’re ready to track them to the cabin.
Tumblr media
Becky returns to find Sam still tied to the bed. (Damn girl, who taught you how to tie a knot?) Becky mournfully reflects on her situation. She really wanted to prance Sam Winchester around to her ex-classmates. She calls herself a loser. Sure, Becky. That’s spelled F E L O N. She loved the message board communities and dating Chuck....life was good as a fan. She just wants love! Sam mumbles something at her through the handkerchief and she pulls it out. “If you want somebody to love you for you, maybe don’t drug them.” Decent Human 101, right? She pulls out the vial of potion and contemplates using it, to Sam’s horror.
Later, Becky nurses a drink at the reunion restaurant when Guy walks in. Becky missed the party, but she’s there to talk to Guy. She tells him she’ll agree to the bargain. Guy approaches for a kiss to seal the deal when Becky flicks a lighter and drops it to the floor. A flare shoots up and burns a quick devil’s trap on the floor, trapping Guy.

Becky tries to celebrate with Sam. Becky just….NO.

Dean confronts Guy, asking him how he’s managing to kill off all his soul acquisitions before their 10 years are up. Guy laughs and tells them that accidents happen - HE doesn’t kill them. His demon intern does. Cue the intern - the scraggly, hairy guy from earlier. Intern blasts them all across the room. The demon knife gets knocked aside but before Dean can grab it, Guy’s out of the trap. It’s looking bad for our heroes when Becky grabs the demon-killing knife and stabs Intern in the back. She passes it to Dean who holds the knife to Guy’s throat and tells him to release his last 15 deals.
“Oh crap,” Guy says, but it’s not because of Dean.
“Hello, boys,” Crowley says from behind them. Dean and Sam look worried but Becky practically has hearts and stars in her eyes. It turns out that Guy’s intern couldn’t keep his mouth shut and bragged about the scheme to Crowley. Crowley tears into Guy. “This isn’t Wall Street, this is Hell!” In Hell, they have INTEGRITY, and need to uphold their bargains or nobody will sell their souls to them anymore.

The Winchesters and Crowley size each other up. Crowley has nothing but the BEST intentions for the Winchesters. They haven’t encountered a demon in months, right? It turns out that it’s because Crowley’s been keeping them on a tight leash. Crowley is pro-Winchester when it comes to killing leviathans. “I hate the bastards. Squash ‘em all, please.” Dean tells Crowley to rip up Guy’s remaining contracts, and when he does so, Dean shoves Guy at Crowley. They zap out.
In Becky’s apartment, Sam signs the annulment paperwork and tells Becky that he won’t see her again. Sam’s a nice guy, though, so he tells Becky that she’s a “good person” and that someday she’ll find the right guy. I mean...I wouldn’t go THAT far but okay. We’re striving for rehabilitation here. Garth lights up and starts to smooth his hair. “No,” Dean tells him while I am yelling NO GARTH BBY DON’T.
Outside, the Winchesters say goodbye to Garth. “You don’t suck,” Dean tells him. Dean. Bean. He gets a HUGE hug for it and then Garth takes off.

Sam tells Dean that he didn’t mean what he said when he was roofied - he does need Dean to watch his back. Dean accepts the sentiment with grace. “For a whack job you really pulled it together.” Dean. BEAN.
Sam also tells Dean that since he doesn’t have to watch out for him, Dean can start looking out for himself for the first time in his life. Dean is THRILLED at this revelation and by thrilled, I mean sent into a self-pitying tailspin. Sigh.
