This Disability Pride Month, I want people to picture US healthcare and food scarcity in a different way. Let's get into some anti-work discussion while we're at it. A lot of you need to remember how broad of a class "disability" is.
This is what I eat. This is adult formula and I use it as enteral nutrition. This is all I can eat and gain nutrients from, and I have to have access to consistent electricity and clean water to maintain it. I cannot tolerate a blended diet (also requires electricity) nor can I safely tolerate gravity/bolus feeds. I also get 100% of my hydration via tube- not pictured is the water necessary for my survival.
Despite the room it takes up in my kitchen, you may be surprised to learn that this is less than 2mo of formula. Less than 2mo of food.
I need 15 cases a month, which is $840/mo. My individual monthly food cost is almost $300 more than the average for Hawaii, the state with the highest US grocery costs. It is more than $500 over my state’s average. My medications also cost >$2200 a month on top of that.
Mine is 100% covered by my insurance- which is tied to my employer. This puts my disabled ass in the position of meat puppet for my employer because all of my needs are interconnected- food, drinking water, medications, running water, stable housing, and electricity. My employer has the power to choose whether I live or die and in this "mutually beneficial relationship", being a working disabled person serves them even more than the comparative able-bodied person because I have my hand forced towards company loyalty.
I really like my employer. But if this were not the case, changing jobs isn't really a safe option. Even if I had a job lined up, it can legally take up to 90 days (or longer in some cases) to get onto employer insurance. That's over $9,120 for 90 days (or more) of insurance lapse. COBRA is also a joke- my state charges $675.45/month for individual health insurance ONLY. That's still $2,026.35 and only if I was terminated, not voluntary resignation.
I think a lot of you need to remember how much disabled people are still an oppressed class- in the US disability law really has not done much for us and it has an extremely narrow view of what disability looks like. The ableism I've been seeing from the left has always been around, but during Disability Pride Month it has especially been a slap to the face.

He offers to drive if you don't want to because his main priority is that you enjoy yourself.
If you insist on driving, he wants to sit in the passenger seat, and he'll play play rock-paper-scissors if that's what it takes.
If you need directions, he reads them off your phone for you instead of using the GPS.
He adjusts the trip so you drive along the scenic routes instead of the busy freeways—it's nicer for sight-seeing.
(And it's a convenient excuse to spend more time with you if you're the only ones in the car.)
He won't admit it, but he's concerned about the other terrible drivers out there so he'll choose whatever route avoids the busiest highways if he can.
He tells you that you can listen to whatever music you like, but he’s very happy if you choose to play something more suited to his tastes.
If you place your free hand across the gear shift, he'll lace his fingers with yours, even if his brothers in the back seat whine or tease him about it.
If you go on an evening drive together, there's a very good chance you'll end up making out after he drags you into his lap.
He likes to get you worked up, and then he smirks when you drive back faster than necessary.

MAMMON

He's willing to drive for you too, even though the others will complain about it.
They tell you that he's so reckless when he drives, but you've never seen anything like that in your experience.
(He drives slower and safer because you're in the car with him.)
He's also willing to play rock-paper-scissors for the front seat, and he’ll start offering bribes to whoever won if they’ll let him have their spot.
He turns the volume up if you want to listen to music in the car—he says it helps drown out the losers stuck in the back seat.
He usually puts on the playlist you made together so it's the perfect blend of both your favourite music.
If any of his brothers are in the car, he doesn't hesitate to offer you his hand across the gear shift.
If you're alone, he'll rest his hand on your thigh or he'll stretch his arm across the back of your seat.
He's too distracted chatting with you to offer to help with directions, so you'll need your GPS for that.
He won't complain about your driving at all—he might even encourage you to drive faster.
He will 100% will make out with you in the car, and if he's feeling particularly riled up, he might ask you to ride him in the front seat, or he'll fuck you against the hood.

He doesn't mind sitting in the back seat—the glare from the windshield can be annoying if he wants to play his handheld.
If he's not watching a livestream on his phone, he might request to listen to playlist of his favourite anime opening/ending songs.
(You already have it on your phone, sometimes you listen to it when you miss him.)
He thinks it's hot cool that you know how to drive, but he won't admit it.
He might joke that it's a good thing you're a better driver in the human world than you are playing Devil Kart.
If you pretend to be offended, he gets flustered and stutters when he tries to apologize.
Depending on how well he slept the night before your trip, he might doze off beside you even though he tries to stay awake.
He spends half the trip glancing at you nervously and wiping his clammy hands on his pant leg before he clears his throat dramatically and holds his hand palm-up over the gear shift.
He stares out the window and pretends he doesn't care what you do, but you can tell he's smiling when you take his hand in yours.
He's too anxious to initiate anything in the car, but he will fall to pieces if you suggest he gets in the back seat.
He turns beet-red when you tell him it'll be more comfortable to blow him or ride him back there, and he fumbles with his seatbelt in his haste to switch seats.

He would prefer to sit in the front seat with you, but he won't throw too much of a fit if he can't.
The exception being: if Lucifer ends up sitting next to you, Satan will sit behind him and kick the back of his seat throughout the entire trip.
He feigns innocence when you glance at him over your shoulder, but you hear his quiet grumble about how Lucifer started it (even when he didn't).
It's so much worse if Lucifer, Satan and Belphie are in the car together.
Lucifer insists that their antics are too disruptive for you and it usually devolves into him warning them to behave or else.
All you have to do is threaten to withhold cuddles/napping together/kissing and they (mostly) behave themselves after that.
Satan prefers to keep the radio volume low because he'd rather talk to you than listen to music.
He brought a book with him, but more often than not it ends up ignored on his lap while you chat for most of the drive instead.
He'll reach for your hand if it's free, or he'll rest his hand on your thigh if it's not.
He's the one climbing into the back seat and trying to drag you back there with him as soon as you've parked the car somewhere partially secluded.

He likes sitting in the front seat where the sun is bright and warm, and he likes being able to stretch out and relax.
He buys you new sunglasses, even if you have your own.
They match the new ones he bought himself, and he likes to compliment how good they look on you.
(He gets annoyed if Mammon any of his brothers try to wear them, he bought them for you.)
He'll sing along with whatever music is playing.
He gets a little flustered when you compliment his singing, so don't be surprised if he scrolls through your playlist and croons out a sappy love ballad to get you worked up in retaliation.
If you're not listening to music, he scrolls through his social media feeds and updates you on the latest gossip.
He's also taking lots of pictures and videos of human world scenery and neat things he sees along the way.
He takes a lot of pictures of you, too.
He likes to hold your hand while you drive.
If he feels particularly affectionate, he tells you quietly how much he appreciates spending quality time with you like this.
He's not as fond of car quickies—a heated make out session to tease you is as far as he normally pushes things.
After a long drive, he's more interested in drawing a warm bath for both of you so you can relax properly after being cramped in the car all day.
Besides, he'd rather take his time when he shows his appreciation for you between soft sheets on a comfortable bed.

You basically give him the passenger seat by default because you know he'd be too cramped in the back seat.
He feels bad if the others whine about it, and he'll offer to switch seats if that means they'll stop bothering you.
Of course, that's very nice of him to offer, but no, they can deal with it.
He feels bad chatting with you too much because he thinks it's distracting, but he's more talkative if you reassure him it's fine.
He packed a lot of snacks for the trip, but most of them are in the backseat or the trunk.
If he keeps them in the front seat, they won't last very long.
If you see a farmer's stand along a country road, you pull over so he can look at whatever's for sale.
You figure buying fresh fruit or home-baked goods is better than buying junk at a gas station, and Beel appreciates the snack variety.
He doesn't buy a lot of souvenirs on these types of trips because he spends a lot of money on buying food to share with you instead.
Trips with Beel take a bit longer because of food-related detours, but the others enjoy them too even if they don't want to admit it.
They like knowing you're well-fed and rested if you're driving, and they can trust Beel take care of you in that way.
If he's feeling frisky, Beel's more likely to press you against the hood or side of the car if he wants to kiss you (or more).
He still prefers to you to bed properly once you've both had a shower and a snack together.

He won't put up much of a fight for the front seat since the back is more comfortable for napping.
If it's just the two of you, he sits up front with a neck pillow (that you bought him), and you keep the music volume low if he's napping.
He's interested in the new places you explore together, and he likes picking up little souvenirs from your travels.
You offer to stop if he sees an interesting tourist attraction so he can take photos (usually of you, and Beel if he's there too).
He forgets to bring sunglasses with him which means he usually asks to borrow yours.
Sometimes he gives them back, sometimes he doesn't.
He'll hold your hand while you drive, or he'll trace little shapes into the top of your thigh to tease you.
He might rile you up on purpose so that you're a squirmy, needy mess.
If you drive somewhere secluded and pull over, he lays across the back seat and pulls you on top of him.
Kissing him is slow and lazy and indulgent, but if you ask him nicely, he'll make sure you're sated before you have to drive again.

"HEY TSTEW! CATCH!" a fruit was thrown and aimed for Tstew's head, which she catches flawlessly. "trying to aim for my head lolo?" she smirks as she takes a bite from the fruit.
Tstew, a pet name given to her, which means brave. She likes the sound and its meaning. gives her a boost of confidence.
"it be pure luck to get a hit" kiri says as she and neteyam jump down from a brach. Lo'ak and spider joined in by coming out of some tall grass. Lo'ak shakes his head and he puts an elbow on Tstew's head. "well if she was a bit shorter, maybe", without saying anything, tstew grabbed him by the arm and threw his whole body down to the ground, landing with an 'OOF!'.

Tstew as she is named by her friends, was much like spider. Born on the planet of pandora, her home, didn't know anything of her birth parents and didn't care to know either. But one thing she is 100% sure its genetic, is her height. Standing proudly tall at 6'11, she over towers almost everyone. Her dark skin makes her stand out even more. Her bright green eyes that reflect pandora's nature. One of her prized assets being her hair. While she never interwoven with the Omaticaya clan, she had adopted their hair styles. Braiding her long hair and decorating it with beads and feathers.
Don't get the wrong idea, Tstew loves and respected the clan and the na'vi. However she believes its best to stay away at a safe distance. After the great battle, there was still tension between the na'vi and the humans who stayed. She didn't want the thin relationship to bend and break. So instead she would rather spend her time with the animals and nature.
Kiri rolled her eyes and spider and neteyam look at their friend with pride in their eyes, "had enough of rough housing? we are going to miss them" kiri said almost impatient. "don't worry kiri, we will make it" tstew replied and she help's lo'ak back on his feet. Neteyam takes lead and guides everyone else to see the herd of prolemuris.
As everyone starts to run and jump to get to the specific location, neteyam and tstew both had ran faster, jumping and swinging from vines. "think you can catch up nete?" tstew shouts as she jumps around. Neteyam laughed as he admires his friend, "I always do!". Lo'ak and kiri were just as fast but can see neteyam's and tstew determination to beat the other.

Finally arriving, the five arrived, huddled together in a branch, using the massive leaves to hide themselves. "ugh, spider, move!" tstew places her chin on top of spiders head, to which makes spider's heart thump a bit. Lo'ak held in a grunt, so he shoved himself close to tstew. "idiot give room! its to tight!" spider frowns as he tries to push back lo'ak. Kiri rolls her eyes and she lays on a branch above from them, "no need to huddle all together" she says.
"SSHH! they are coming!" neteyam hushes the others as the see Prolemuris swinging in herd. All communicating in their own sounds and pass by the kids. Their beautiful colors blending with the forest greens and doing their thing. All the kids look at them in awe as not often do they see those creatures. Kiri and tstew appreciate every chance they get to see them.
"so pretty...." neteyam whispers in awe, "did you say something nete?" asks tstew, neteyam clears his throat and shakes his head. "no, I didn't say anything". Tstew shrugs it all, as unconsciously she wraps her arms around spider, who he is loving the embrace while lo'ak and neteyam glare at him in envy.
tstew's eyes linger on as the view of the creatures fade away into the forest. She tries to swing like them but unfortunately, she only has 2 noodle arms. "that was fun to watch, but we better get back, its almost eclipse" kiri says. So everyone got up and this time, they took their pace slow to head back. Lo'ak turns to tstew with a grin, "excited for tomorrow?", this made tstew light up with glee. "fuck yeah I am! I have waited so long for this! I can use my avatar and bye bye to this stupid mask-oh, sorry spider" she grins nervously. Spider shrugs not offended. "its ok" but spider refuses to admit, he wished he too had an avatar. But the science guys only had enough material to make one more, and Tstew's DNA was compatible.
Neteyam grins, as he too is excited. They can do more things now since tstew was limited to certain things because of her human body. "though I high doubt your strength will be any different tstew" neteyam teases. Tstew took that as a challenge, "oh yeah?! try this!" she full body slams on neteyam as they start to rough house.
though neteyam tries to give tstew a challenge, its a bit tricky since he didn't want to break her mask. And admit he would let tstew win. Kiri scoffs and she warns them to hurry it up. And fair, the sky was starting to get dark.
They made it in time, as the sully kids said their goodbye's to spider and tstew. Both kids got into their base and slept. Waiting eagerly for tomorrow.

Max Rebo is on tonight, so the Cantina is busy. More so than usual, which gladly works in your favour. It’s much easier to blend in with the rabble when there’s so many of them, diminishing the danger of getting a simple drink after a long day. You miss the time when danger wasn’t something you had to consider before something as simple as a trip to the watering hole, but that’s life now. 
You’re sitting at a table for two, the second chair pulled away by a group of Klantoonians playing Dejarik and making bets amongst each other, which works fine for you. An empty chair might invite guests, which is the last thing in the Galaxy you want right now. 
When you throw your drink to the back of your throat, it burns just how you like it, though the sight of a now empty glass pulls your brows together in an almost pout. You have very few credits left, and with your face coded into half the bounty pucks this side of the Outer Rim, work is pretty sparing these days.
A knight in shining beskar turns heads as he strolls into the Cantina, a Mandalorian whos helmet catches the dim spotlights scattered around the dusty bar when he appears to survey the clientele surrounding you, capturing your attention in the process. It’s a rare sight, seeing a Mandalorian walk so openly around the place, and the man instantly ignites a fascination in you. Sure, the Daimyo around here has the armour, but Boba Fett doesn’t claim to be a part of any creed, so you’re not entirely sure where he stands.
You’re so lost in your thoughts that it isn’t until the stranger is right in front of you, two glasses in hand, do you realise he was even approaching. 
“Mind if I sit? I can pay rent.” He asks, his low, gruff accent hinting at origins in Mos Pelgo Freetown- as he gestures to the two glasses grasped in gloved hands. Curious eyes scan over his figure, tall and built as he is, landing on the full glass of whiskey with your name on it. A solution to your dry problem, albeit a risky one. It all depends on how much you’re willing to gamble for a drink…
“If you can find a seat, sure…” You shrug, fauxing a nonchalant air about you to keep suspicions low. You have no reason to trust this man, but showing that so openly would surely attract questions you’re not prepared to answer. 
The glasses are placed down, the mystery Mandalorian taking a few steps, winding around the merry crowds to reach the nearest table. You watch on, amused, pretty sure anyone in this whole place would choose a fight over giving up their seat; the Cantina hardly has the clientele of the highest calibre. It’s an apprehension you feel, almost an excitement, at the thought of a fight breaking out and distracting everyone enough for you to pick a few pockets. And you’ve already got your drink… 
You’re busy planning who you’re gonna steal from when you notice the presence this man commands. He’s tall, built up with muscles packed under his beskar. You can’t see his face, and you wonder if he’s one of those Mandalorians who never remove their helmets, your curiosity officially piqued. He approaches the group who took the seat in the first place, one of them scoffing at what you assume to be a request for the seat. You sit up, ready for the ensuing fight, but it never comes. Instead, the Mandalorian leans down, right up to the other’s face, and it’s far too loud in here to hear what he’s said, but stars would you love to know what has a Klantoonian scrambling up like that and offering out the stool. 
Disappointment and a strange sense of admiration mixes in you as you lean back into your seat, your new tablemate following suit and sliding one glass across to you. 
“Cheers,” You announce, lifting your glass to clink it against thin air before taking a sip, savouring the burn over your tongue a little more this time. The Mandalorian nods his head in response, and just as you think you’ve worked him out, he reaches for his helmet and pulls it off his head, placing it down on the table and taking a gulp from his own drink. 
It takes you a moment to take him all in. His sandy hair, tousled from the helmet, a couple strands falling in front of his tanned skin. He has the jawline of a deity, spattered with stubble that is only broken with a small scar on his chin.

You know his face. You know this man, you’ve seen that scar, those eyes, (though even in the dark cantina you can see an incredible ocean hue that no hologram nor poster could never hope to capture) before, hanging on the walls of  the underground bars you used to frequent before every crime family on the planet were after your head.
Arthur Morgan, bounty hunter.
It’s too late to flee, and the disruption you’d cause by bolting would only draw more attention to you, so your only option appears to be complacency, for now. Act the fool, pretend you don’t know exactly who he is and why he’s here, and let whatever little plan he has in store for you play out until you can excuse yourself and get the hell out of here. 
You school your expression to as much indifference as you can, though the rather long sip of your drink may have given you away. Arthur watches you intently, and if you didn’t know better you’d think he was buying you a drink to flirt with you. But you do know better, unfortunately. 
“You know,” he starts, drawing out the statement and retaining your attention with a long sip of his own, “You’re prettier than the stars above.” 
Whiskey shoots down your throat and back up again with your little splutter, not expecting this to be his plan. You just about manage to suppress the scoff rising up like bile,  concealing it in a cough. Your fight or flight is in hyperdrive, and the reverend Arthur Morgan laying on the fake charm in order to cash in on the price on your head really isn’t helping. He’s good, though, you had to give him that. It’s a mighty fine pickup line coming from a mighty fine looking man, it’s just a shame he’s trying to capture you.
“Afraid your charms won’t work on me, pretty boy. I’m not that kinda girl.”
“Pretty boy, really?” He doesn’t seem mad, more amused, a raised brow meeting with a little chuckle and a head shake as he throws the last of his drink back down. 
It’s now or never. 
You throw the last of your own drink back, part for the plan, part for the Dutch courage needed to actually pull the plan off. 
“Same again?” You ask, your stool squeaking awkwardly against the stone floor when your straightening legs push it into the wall, “I think this rounds on me.”
It’s a near perfect act of indifference, with only a single, traitorous voice break right at the end. You hope he doesn’t notice, but it’s wishful thinking. Arthur stands too, echoing your stools creak, his hand reaching on instinct to the holster hanging by his hip.

“Don’t you worry about that, pretty girl.” The way he throws your pet name back at you… he knows you know, and you have seconds to act.
Eyes wide, like a bantha in headlights, you take your chances in throwing the last of your drink back, before throwing the glass over to the table of gamers and gamblers. It hits one of them on the back of the head, and everybody turns to him, the music cutting off abruptly for a few seconds of silence before the chaos erupts. 
You’re the first to move, breaking the almost comical freeze frame to put one boot on the table and push it into Arthur. He lunges for you, missing by inches, so close you feel the air rush past your skin where he nearly grazes you. The table hits him in the stomach, and he’s forced to bend over it, giving you the perfect opportunity to risk everything and grab the blaster jutting out. You shoot twice, high into the ceiling, which really kicks things off. The cantina soon descends into riot status, with punches thrown, drinks flying and the like. The distraction you’ve been after ever since he walked in here with his uneasy air and the hairs on the back of your neck first began to stand on edge.
The path out is far from easy, and you’re pretty sure you stood on more than a few limbs, but when the dry heat of a Tatooine night hits you, you’ve never been so grateful.  You don’t look back once, not knowing if he’s following you or even if he saw where you’re going, you just run until your lungs burn and your muscles scream at you and then you run some more. There’s a spot you know, an abandoned farm house just outside the city that’s covered in sand and looks like it hasn’t been touched in years. You hid out there once before, the last time a bounty hunter tried their luck with you, successfully prolonging this never ending hunt where you’re the prey every damn time.

It’s a long night, one where you don’t sleep a wink nor dare to light a fire. It doesn’t seem like Arthur followed you, but it was a few hours after reaching the farmhouse did you release the grip of your stolen blaster enough for it to no longer press each metal marking into the skin of your palm. You keep your back pressed firmly against the wall of one of the sand-filled alcoves, keeping hidden from sight until the suns are both well above the horizon. The mid-morning heat is a grateful relief from the biting cold; even the desert cools in the dead of night. 
You spot the bantha first, letting it lure you into a false sense of security before it gets close enough for you to make out the details of its silhouette, one detail in particular being the goddamn bounty hunter sitting atop it. 
The fact that he’s here at all means he knows he’ll find you here, but logic doesn’t get in the way of you scuttling back into the house, climbing to what used to be the second floor and pulling the blaster back out to press against your chest. 
Not exactly the faster creatures in the Outer Rim, it takes the bantha and its rider a few torturous minutes to reach you, but when they do arrive, Arthur dismounts casually, with no indication that he intends to send you back to your maker. Your breath hitches as he walks down the little incline of sand into the ruins of the house. 
He turns on his heel, and you notice the spurs on his boots make a little circle in the sand around his feet. 
“I know you’re here, mesh’la,” he taunts, bringing out a Mando’a translation of the newly formed inside joke you seem to share now, “Ain’t no point hiding.” 
He’s right, you know he is. There is no way out, no possibility you’re going to escape him, and even if you did, there’s no cover out here. He’ll be able to sit back and watch wherever you run, just waiting to follow. You could shoot him, but the weight of the blood you’ve already spilled is already becoming too much. Could you really carry more?
Tears threaten to prick at your eyes, but you refuse to let them fall, refuse to let the shaking of your hands carry on for any longer than your cover does. He won’t see the cracks in your facade, that you’ll make sure of.
“You’re prettier than the stars above, you know that?” 
It will be a cold day on Mustafar when the great Arthur Morgan bows to flattery, but that doesn’t stop you from poking whatever fun you can reach. 
Your voice echoing around the remains of the farmhouse alerts Arthur of your general location, so he turns to it, giving you a full view of the amused grin on his face.
“Your charms won’t work on me, pretty girl. I ain’t that kind of bounty hunter.” 
You laugh. A genuine, true laugh, despite yourself. Despite everything. 
“Come on out now, no-one needs to get hurt…” He pleads, wandering eyes indicating he’s still not 100% sure where you are.
“Except me, when you hand my ass in for a few credits.” You point out, noticing that your back and forth seems to have quelled the tremors in your hands. Let’s not ponder that right now…
Arthur looks taken aback, like he genuinely doesn’t know what to say to that. Good. Let him stutter to death for all you care. 
“Well, maybe you shoulda’ thought of that before you started sloggin’ off some mighty powerful people, sweetheart…” 
His comment seems to spark, igniting a firework of anger deep within you. It explodes loudly, albeit quickly, when you aim Arthur’s own blaster to beside his feet, firing a warning shot that smokes in the sand. You wouldn’t be surprised to see one of his boots singed with how close you were, but when he jumps back, pulling out another identical blaster from a second holster and aiming it right at your alcove, you curse inwardly. How did you not notice that?
“You have no idea what you’re talking about, bounty hunter.” You seethe, that anger burning hot as he claims to understand your situation. 
“Well why don’t you come out here and we can talk about it?” 
That earns a scoff, which Arthur responds to with a long sigh.
“Look… way I see it, you’ve got two choices. You can come out, do this the easy way, and I can bring you in nice and warm, get my full fee, and you live to see another day. Or-”
“Yeah, I get it, beroya,” You spit the Mando’a name out like a curse, “Or you can kill me right now and have a real lonely drive back to wherever the hell it is they want my corpse.” 
You hate that he’s right, hate that you’re cornered, hate that it’s over, ignoring the small part of you that sighs relief at the prospect of no longer having to live life with one eye on your back. 
There’s one last, long, deep breath, the exhale feeling like letting go of something, though you’re not sure if it’s freedom or the captivity this hunt has kept you in, and then you’re jumping from the second floor, landing in the sand with a thud. You’re still clutching the gun, but so is Arthur, and you’re not sure you’d fare well in a duel against an actual sharpshooter, so you toss it over to him, sand flying off at him in a final, petty move. 
Arthur picks it up, holstering a pistol at each hip as he slowly approaches, hands raised like a keeper trying to tame a wild rancor. You can’t decide if you like that allegory on not, rancors can get pretty vicious… 
The handcuffs you also didn’t notice last night hang from the bounty hunter’s belt. You’re still while he corners you, appearing willing when he plucks the binders from his belt. It isn’t until you feel gloved hands against your skin do the prickles on the back of your neck start burning and the urge to flee rises up again like bile. 
Phantom hands, Trandoshan ones, appear all over your body as you’re flung out of reality from a single touch. 
“Aren’t you a gem?” his whisper just about reaches your ear, warm breath bubbling at the skin of your neck like acid. He runs a claw across your jaw, resting it below your chin so you can’t look away. 
“Please don’t touch me.” You demand, though your voice is weak. Scared. You know what happens to girls who don’t do what they’re told around here.
That displeasure spreading across his face twists and contorts it when he registers your disobedience. Notably, his claws remain on you, and when you try to step backwards, he crowds you, following until your back hits the cold stone wall. Claustrophobia sets in, your breath hitching when you feel his chest press against yours. 
“Hm… I think I will, girl. Nobody says no to me, you’ll do well to remember that.” 
The stench of whatever cologne rich Trandoshan boys wear lingers in your nostrils like it so often does, but your mind catches up with where you really are faster than your body does. It’s instinct, when you bring your knee up to hit Arthur hard in the gut and completely wind him. He lets out a groan, doubling over and dropping the binders in the process, which you kick across the sand. 
You use his distraction to push him over onto his back, but he grabs the lapels of your jacket and drags you down with him so you’re straddling him, crotch to crotch as you attempt to pin him down into the sand. Your thighs squeeze together in an attempt to constrict his wriggling, but he’s pretty strong. You’re not thinking straight when you pull your fist back, with every intention of striking Arthur in the face, but the shock of his catching your fist in his much bigger hands seems to bring you back to reality and you realise what you’re doing. 
Frozen, for only a second, but it’s enough window to give Arthur chance to overpower you, twisting your bodies together until you’re below him instead and he can pin down each arm by the wrist. Your thighs remain wrapped around him, and with Arthur towering over you, it has suddenly become an awfully intimate position shared between the two of you. His face is inches from yours, his hot, panting breaths mixing with yours. Both of your chests rise and fall, just barely touching as you glare into eachothers eyes. 
“The hell was that?!” He demands, and you’re trying your absolute hardest to ignore the prodding you feel against your thigh. Maker help you…
He doesn’t deserve a response from you, only the ceasing of your strained muscles trying to escape his iron grip as a silent admit to defeat. With the way you fell, your satchel is digging awkwardly into your lower back, so you raise your hips slightly to ease the ache. An unexpected effect of that is your pelvis grinding oh-so gently against Arthur’s, which seems to bring a surge of energy to that bulge pressing against you. Your eyes widen, as do Arthur’s, and there’s one single moment shared between the two of you before he quickly scrambles off you, not releasing his bruising grip on your wrists. 
When he stands, he doesn’t give you the chance to before he’s walking to the direction you kicked his cuffs. It drags you along the coarse sand, your wrist screaming from the strain of carrying your weight.
“Ow- you’re gonna break my wrist, you fucking nerf herder!” You hiss at him, kicking your legs in protest as sand flies about the place and you’re dragged to the cuffs. 
“Shoulda’ thought about that before ya tried to break my goddamn nose, mesh’la.” The term of endearment is anything but sincere, coupled with rough movements as he cuffs you that hint that he may be pretty pissed about the sudden unexpected fight. The binders are a little too tight to ever be comfortable, but you’re pretty sure that’s intentional. A slice of revenge for trying to run again.
“These are too tight.” You complain, lifting your wrists up to his standing form. 
“Well, you better get used to it. We’ve got a long ride to Mos Espa, Princess.”

A bird perches on a tree branch, singing. A snail crawls across a bed of springy moss. Sunbeams shine through the canopy, their dappled light sparkling on the forest floor.
Moss Creeps, Stone Crumbles is a game about the slow, gentle march of nature. Using drawings and words, you’ll tell the story of a forest grove and how it changes over the course of 100 years. You can play with any number of participants from 2 through 20.
This game feels like a drawing version of Telephone - it requires each player to add something to a continuously growing map. It feels more like a creation exercise than a drawn out game, and the meditation that the author includes in the play document solidifies this feeling. If you want something simple, focused, and good for a large number of people, check out Moss Creeps, Stone Crumbles.
Undercover Houseplant, by ToriBee.
Welcome, Agent, to the most challenging operation of your career. You've been chosen for this mission due to your exceptional ability to adapt and overcome. In an unconventional twist of fate, you find yourself deployed in the field not as the usual two-legged agent, but rather a zero-legged operative: a houseplant.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to infiltrate the enemy's premises, blend in with the local flora, and gather valuable intel from the unsuspecting individuals who dare to conduct secretive conversations in your vicinity.
This is a solo journaling game in which you are a secret agent, transformed into a houseplant in order to spy in on top-secret conversations. As you attempt to gather intelligence, you risk raising suspicion using a Suspicion Score. This will raise every time you fail a Growth action, which is meant to improve your ability to gather information, or a Communicate action, which involves subtle changes in your patterns in order to communicate what you’ve already learned. If you want a solo game with a humorous premise, I recommend Undercover Houseplant!
Rooted Together, by Monroeroe.
Play with a group of friends in this journaling game (that utilizes a d6) where you are mushroom folk trying to build a community. Rules light and open to expand to whatever sort of play style you find best.
I don’t have a copy of this game, so I can’t give much of an overview for this one, but based on the price and the description, I have a feeling it’s a rules-light game and likely uses prompts, considering it’s a journaling kind of game. If you want a bit more sentience and mobility in your plant (or plant-adjacent) game, consider Rooted Together!
Mushrooms & Magic, by FeatherBoy.
Years after a mysterious series of magical Churnings, kingdoms of Mushrooms awoke in a world left behind by the Ancients, surrounded by strange beasts and remnants of ancient technology from when "humans" walked the soils. In the years following, Mushroomkind fought and explored, discovered and innovated. But Mushrooms are small, and the world is large; much remains to be learned, and countless adventures are still to be had. Will you answer the call?
Mushrooms & Magic runs using a modified Powered by the Apocalypse / Monster of the Week-like system, with new mechanics for tool crafting, abilities, and several magic types. The game only requires one die - a d20 - and makes use of just four basic stats. While not necessarily rules-light, plenty of room is left within the game's structure for players to modify core abilities and attributes (and add their own!) as wanted within campaigns, and GM's are encouraged to have fun with the setting above all else.
This is probably the farthest from your request mostly because you are more like uplifted mushrooms - with very human-like attributes such as tool use, clothing, and the desire for adventure. However, it’s probably also the biggest game in this list, with a very interesting stat wheel, which is an interesting deviation from typical PbtA games. It’s a bit more granular while using the same rule-system, and I’m interested to see what that means in play.
Where Sunflowers Grow, by Darkheart Games.
You and your friends are sunflowers growing in a field once torn by human war. The battles are long over, but the soil your roots drink from holds the memory of blood. When the memories wash through you, you share your experiences with your friends.
Where Sunflowers Grow is a game for three to six players and can be played remotely or in person. The game requires ten unshelled sunflower seeds (or ten small slips of paper) in addition to the PDF in order to play.
I think this game is the most grounded in a real setting, with the unique perspective of plants growing on a field where violence took place. Your characters weren’t present for the conflict itself, but the violence has still managed to affect your life. I really like the thematic element of using sunflower seeds to randomize the memories which your sunflowers will move through. However, this is not a game for everyone - make sure to prepare your table for conversations about violence, trauma, and attrition if you want to suggest this game.
The Flora, by Affinity Games Collective.
The Flora is a meditative structured freeform game for 1-6 players. 
In it you will play a long-lived plant, rooted in place, their history and responses to the elements, fauna, their human caretakers and the human-shaped world. The game starts with fledgling Flora growing in our present day, you will feel the marks of human activity, the shifting seasons, and the changing climate as you adapt and grow, and eventually decay and die. 
You’ll be answering questions, choosing options from tables, telling or writing stories about the Flora and the different caretakers in the Flora’s life, drawing and updating a map of the Lot on which they live, and drawing the Flora throughout their lifespan. 
It looks like this game can be played either solo or in a group. The “what you will need” list on the game page recommends a timer, so it looks like you have the ability to play the game in short bursts. The primary focus of the game is observing the growth of a plant through a series of caretakers, until it reaches the end of its life. I think there are also different options for the kind of flora you play!
Gardenborn: Knights of the Green, by Verdant Green Games.
You play as sentient plant knights called "Gardenborn" as you quest to find a long-lost Grail that holds the key to ending a devastating fungal plague ravaging the wilds.
Gardenborn is a cooperative TTRPG designed for one GM and 2-5 players. As sentient plants, you will venture into the Deep Wilds, where a plague called the Bloodrot festers. There are monsters such as Toadgres and infected stags, called Deergons. I like the stats for your characters: willow, hardy, tolerant and creeping. The game is still in its initial stages, so expect less setting and perhaps a few pieces that are rough around the edges, but the setting is lovingly present even in just the first draft!
Mossy Mechanics, by Diwata Ng Manila.
You've seen the power of the Succulent Sorcerers, you've experienced how a Petal Paladin enacts their order, and you have been beholden to the strength of the Bonsai Brawlers - now, be enchanted by the prowess of the Mossy Mechanics!
I’ve recommended the other instalments of Sin’s previous plant games, and it is only fitting that I include the last one here. You used to just be a clump of moss, but the “Other Mother” has awoken you in her first step of a plan towards world domination. Will you fight for her? Or against her?
This is such a sweet little system with the same basic stats across all games. All characters have Resist pips and Raw Magic pips, which determine your threshold for success. In Mossy Mechanics, you choose a Mechanic Form, which gives you your basic stats, as well as a Mod, which gives you special abilities. There’s also a quick little page containing everything your Garden master needs to know. If you want something cute and small and easy to run, I recommend Mossy Mechanics.

Being a regular maintenance bot has it's perks. Most people don't bother you when you're at work. Or at all, in fact. You blend in to the rest of the crew for the most part. It's especially handy when you're working on something so important. Your servos are deep in the bridge's internals, carefully avoiding elements that still flicker with energy, when someone presses tight to your back and makes you jump. Your digits just barely brush the powered-down battery, but it still gives off enough charge to shock you.
Most people don't bother you when you're at work.
"Captain, do you need anything?" You can tell Rodimus is grinning by the way he presses his face to your neck cables, his arms around your waist unyielding even as he bears the weight of his frame against your back. If he thinks you're just going to hold him up, instead of crumple to the floor like dead weight, he has another thing coming.
"It's lunchtime, you know?" It takes a second for his words to register, checking your internal chronometer, but, lo and behold, he's right. You glance around to see the bridge... deserted. Empty for everyone besides you. Not that this sort of behavior is unusual from you. Oftentimes you'll get off work starving and wondering why, only to realize you had worked eight hours without break. Working on the Lost Light, where you can get absorbed without someone even checking on you, has only seemed to make this habit worse.
"Just stay like this. Captain's order." He pats the sides of your waist with both servos before he pulls away. You almost whip around to ask what he's doing when you hear metal hit the floor. When his servos return to the back of your thighs, you have to keep from kicking backwards like a startled Cybertronian horse. You're still so new to the crew, to being in Rodimus' close inner circle, it's hard to tell what's actually a Captain's order and what's just him fucking with you.
When his glossa meets your modesty panel, you know he's just fucking with you. Your thighs twitch apart in his hold, leaning further on the very expensive computer in front of you. This is such a bad idea, but when Rodimus trails wet, open-mouth kisses down your inner thigh it's hard to care. It's not like you and Rodimus haven't gotten up to things you shouldn't in your short-time on the Lost Light, but right where Megatron or, Primus forbid, Ultra Magnus could walk in and see you? The thought is almost shameful and nauseating enough for you to bounce away from Rodimus.
"I've been thinking about you all day," Your Captain's words are muffled where he still lavishes your thighs in kisses, trailing from the seam of your knee back up to your modesty panel. He carefully catches the lubricant you’re leaking, lapping it up before digging the tip of his glossa into the junction where your modesty panel slides back. Such careful teasing has it folding away without any internal prompting, "I really wanted you to ride my glossa, but this'll have to do for now."
Rodimus places delicate kisses from your node to the lips of your valve, glossa laying down gentle swipes before he truly delves in. You release an invent you hadn't realized you were holding, so caught up in focusing on every soft sensation. You know Rodimus can be more enthusiastic, more energetic, he's just teasing you. When his glossa finally pushes past the lips of your valve, you sigh out a low moan, moving back against his mouth. Rodimus meets you with fervor, his glossa fucking you into a fast approaching overload.
With the time ticking down, you're tempted to check your chronometer again. Just to make sure. But Rodimus' glossa teases your calipers, swipes over nodes that even you haven't touched in... So long. When was the last time you got an overload that wasn't via Rodimus? You should really remember to thank your Captain for his hard work. For coming to make sure you at least took what was supposed to be your lunchbreak.

hello and welcome to my little blending + colouring tutorial !! in this tutorial, i will be guiding you through colouring blended gifs and how to blend them. i will be using ps 2023. this tutorial assumes you have prior knowledge of basic colouring and timeline !
please note this is the process that i have received the best results from - it might not work for everyone and it likely doesn’t work for every show. but, with the results i have been having, i feel like it’s something i want to share with others !!
p.s. : i will work this tutorial the best i can to accomodate to the new tumblr gif guidelines and bugs !!

keep in mind each of the above have different styles of blending, each also being different to my own. if your final result isn’t the exact same as any tutorial, don’t beat yourself up over it ! 
STEP 1 - find your scenes.
this step is more important than you think. certain scenes simply don’t blend well and that’s just reality. here’s my preferences:
similar scenes (eg. similar lighting, colouring, setting) blend well.
one moderately well lit scene (ideally not outdoors) + a moderately dark scene (eg. you can clearly get an outline of a face, you’re not adding curves layer after curves layer) CAN blend well, depending.
scenes on two different ends of the spectrum like one daytime outdoors sunshining type scene + midnight dark, obscured faces scenes do not have potential to blend well.
however, you’ll come to know what works through experience ! 
also make sure that whatever scenes you pick, ideally, there is little to no movement !! this makes it easier when you actually colour the gif later on.
STEP 2 - organize your two gifs.
to blend your gifs, they need to be the same length. i load them into frames first and then i set the speed and trim them to the same amount of frames and layers and then i will crop. then, go convert to timeline > command + option + a (for mac) to select all on the layers + timeline, then right click on your layers and go ‘convert to smart object’. 
do this on both of your gifs and then you can sharpen them (i do, so it gives me a better idea of how my gif is looking) or not, depending on how you like to do things.
STEP 3 - the blend.
with my two seperate gifs now, i will take one gif and duplicate it onto the other. 
please note that simply performing ‘duplicate layer’ will not be sufficient if you are working with every frame and layer individually. having two seperate smart objects makes things much easier for me and only really changes one or two things that people would normally do.
now, to blend your gifs, go to the gif you duplicated over and change the blending mode to ‘screen’. some people may choose to use ‘lighten’ - do whatever looks best in your opinion.

right now, the background of my top gif is washing out my bottom gif of inej. no worries - we’re going to fix that now.
STEP 4 - the blend part ii (the harder half)
first off, i’m going to adjust the positions of my gifs. the top gif covers too much of the focal point of the bottom gif (inej’s face) so i’m going to move the top one a little to the right and then the bottom one a little to the left so i can get the best view.
now it looks like this:

to begin fixing it, add a ‘layer mask’ to both of the gifs. make sure your foreground colour on your layer mask is set to black. you need a layer mask on both of the gifs because different aspects of each have something interrupting the other.
now, select the ‘gradient’ tool and make sure you have the same setup:

the black colour lets you blend and the transparent end means it does blend. now, using the gradient tool, do this:

(keep in mind i’m not 100% done here !!)
keep using the gradient (or brush) until you’re getting your desired results. do note that when you’re using the gradient tool and, if you have two layer masks (one per gif) that there is a chance that your gradients overlap and the middle point becomes opaque. in that case, i’ll either delete my layer masks and start again, move my gifs or use a brush with a WHITE colour to redo. 
play around with your gradient though ! don’t be afraid of messing something up in this process; you can easily go back and fix it. experimenting allows you to learn.
it took me another five minutes to play around and get exactly what i wanted, but what i’m going to do next will actually assist my final result. here’s what it looks like atm:

there’s still a bit of an overlay from that top gif, but when i colour it, it will disappear.
STEP 5 - basic colouring.
this is your curves, levels, colour balance etc. ! there’s not much to say here as everyone does this bit different, but i do advise that whichever gif you work on, you turn off the visibility of the other, and disable the layer mask while you colour. this allows you to achieve the best results.
make sure to use a clipping mask for your colouring layers, and clip them to the corresponding gif.

now i’ve completed the basic colouring and i’m ready to give it some actual colour !!
STEP 6 - colourful colouring !!
next up - actually making it look cool !! start by adding 2-3 blank layers (make sure they’re clipped to the respective gif). with the first layer, go back to your gradient tool and draw a gradient on the “darker half” of your gif. if there isn’t one, just choose which one will help it blend best. also disable your layer mask while you do the colouring !!
where that little bit of the top gif was overlapping on the bottom one, i’ve added a black gradient to it so it blends better.

rn it looks a bit weird, but once you change the blending mode to ‘soft light’ it evens out a lot.
then with my other blank layer, i’ll change my brush to my desired colour and set the size to 200px. from there, i’ll do one half of her face then i’ll make ANOTHER layer, and do around the other half, as such:

then, set the blending mode to either ‘colour’ or ‘hue’, whichever suits best ! 
after, make sure to clean up with an eraser so it won’t turn the subjects skin that colour. then, you can repeat the process for the other gif !! feel free to switch your colours up too.
here’s both my gifs, coloured individually:

don’t stress about having the perfect colouring where no skin is obscured by the colouring. it won’t be perfect (eg. there’s a tad bit of cyan on her ear) just as long as it works well with the motion !!
STEP 7 - final clean up and save !

and i’m done ! this process is relatively quick and has been giving consistent and high quality results for me, which has been so good. i’m aware that blending is not a quick thing to learn and wanting to incorporate colour is such a hard thing to start. hopefully this has helped <3

Summary:
Chen Shi, a young man from the countryside, journeys to the capital in search of his missing older brother, whose existence he only knew about upon his mother’s death. He knows neither the name nor face of his brother, and after finally arriving at the capital, he runs out of money as well. One thing led to another, and he finds himself employed at Dali Court, where he works for Vice Minister Li Bing, a large white cat.
On the other hand, Li Bing is of royal blood who was imprisoned because of his family’s treason. Now, he has to work in the government to atone for the crime.
At Dali Court, they review court cases from all over the country. But when an incident involving the esteemed ministers of the royal court breaks out, Dali Court is called to help, only to find themselves entangled in political threads and hit heads with an eccentric demon.
Li Bing is determined to get to the bottom of this, but how far can he go when he could regress into a real cat at any time when left unchecked?
Propaganda:
I’m tired of writing new propaganda every round, so I’m begging you to just trust me that it’s GREAT.
Intriguing plot? Check. Complex and interesting characters? Check. Comedy? Check. Drama? Check. 
The blend of comedy and drama is just so good. I started the show because I love cats and supernatural stuff. Who would’ve thought it would pull me into an abyss of despair of political intrigue. The cat demons turned out to be just the icing on the cake. 
We have all these different characters brought up in different ways that their ideas of what is Right conflict with each other. None of them are exactly Wrong or inherently Evil (well, except for maybe one guy), and this makes it so much more difficult to choose who to root for. You’d think everyone against the protagonists are the Enemies, but turns out even the protagonists are limited by their biases and unintentionally harm others. Even the two protagonists themselves get into arguments because of their different standpoints.
And I just love this because it makes them realistic, you know? The characters don’t always agree with their friends, and their enemies are not completely hostile either. It really all boils down to what they believe in. Sometimes their beliefs align with existing comrades, and sometimes they find it on the other side.
Production-wise, this show also gets a check on everything. As an adaptation, it’s amazing. The original manhua has quite a simple style—kind of like comic book drawings, and panels are all rectangles in one straight line. Storytelling is also simple and straight to the point. 
But the 2020 donghua? God, it went far and beyond that.  The animation team does not cut corners at all, which is a feat considering the show has a low budget from what I’ve heard. 
A short, simple scene in the manhua becomes an emotionally-devastating experience in the donghua. The animation choices, angles, music, and just everything else blend so well to deliver a STORY. This adaptation does not just copy frames from the source (like Blue Lock) or cut/reorder some of the scenes (like Horimiya and Sasaki to Miyano). White Cat Legend 2020 understands the material so well that it can creatively use the advantages of the animation medium to deliver an experience that exceeds even that of the source. Think Mob Pyscho 100 or One Punch Man s1 level of creativity. It even has mini stories at the end of the ending song. For s1, the mini stories are in stop-motion, while for s2 it’s formatted like a video game. You gotta appreciate the effort.
Please just vote for this show. It deserves to be in the Finals.

Summary:
Many of us know what it is like to transition to a new school with few to no friends in a new environment, going through the arduous process of getting to know people again. Bocchi Hitori knows this struggle all too well, having just graduated from elementary school and thrown into middle school. Unfortunately, she suffers from extreme social anxiety: she faints when overwhelmed, vomits when nervous, and draws up ridiculously convoluted plans to avoid social contact. It does not help that her only friend from elementary school, Kai Yawara, will not be attending the same middle school as Bocchi. However, wanting to help her, Kai severs ties with Bocchi and promises to reconcile with her when she befriends all of her classmates in her new middle school class.
Even though Bocchi has no faith in herself, she is determined to be friends with Kai again. Summoning all of her courage, Bocchi takes on the daunting challenge of making friends with her entire class, starting with the delinquent-looking girl sitting in front of her…
Propaganda:
This is a fun and lighthearted show. Watch it if you need something cute to chill out! The art is cute and colorful, the music lively, and the animation fine enough.
As it's adapted from a four-panel gag manga, the story is simple and focuses on the various characters. They all have pun-based names related to their main personality trait, so they're easy to remember if you know some basic Japanese (Hitori Bocchi means all alone, for example). The girls are all adorable and fun in their own quirky ways, and I loved seeing the heroine doing her utmost best to overcome her fears -and other challenges- to befriend them in the hope of fulfilling her promise. That's the power of the Do-Your-Best Fairy! They all care for each other (despite some teasing) and help Bocchi with her monumental task, never pulling her down for her struggles but gently pushing her in the back when needed.
But most importantly, Hitori Bocchi is a very relatable character. As someone suffering the same trouble, I related a lot with Bocchi, from her silliest worries to her escalating panic and weird schemes in an attempt to prevent anything wrong. Anxiety is faithfully represented, mixed with the right amount of laughing to how far Bocchi can get to avoid fearful situations in her very cute ways. It feels good to see a character like me in a such positive light! The struggles are real and acknowledged, and it’s really moving to see our heroine overcome them little by little in a very humanizing way.
This series has become one of my comfort materials, and I come back to it when I need hope and inspiration in everyday social interactions! nothing too wild going on here, but even when i do "simple" coloring like this (gradient maps, my beloved), i still color the base gifs. once i have all the gifs made and plopped onto the canvas, this is what my coloring layers look like:

working from the bottom up, i almost always start with a brightness/contrast layer. i don't adjust either value, but instead set the layer's blending mode to screen. this movie is pretty dark, so i left the opacity at 100%, but sometimes, i'll drop the opacity as low as 20-30%.
i follow that up with a curves layer, where i utilize the black and white eyedroppers. click the black eyedropper and then click the blackest point on your gif. then do the same with the white eyedropper. it's a good idea to play around with different points, especially when you're working with super tinted scenes. curves layers can be a lifesaver!
on the levels layer, i did the same exact thing with the eyedroppers, but oftentimes, i end up increasing the black value, like you see here:

next, my FAVORITE adjustment layer: selective color! i like to color code my selective color layers, especially when i'm working on a super colorful set like my recent lisa frankenstein set. i always start with adjusting the blacks and usually the neutrals. you can right click on the eye/visibility icon to select a color. i use grey for these colors. here were my adjustments:

i'll occasionally adjust the white values when working with a really tinted scene, but these were fine, and it wouldn't make much difference anyway since we're putting a gradient map over top.
the next curves layer is just a slight adjustment for the top row of gifs to make the eventual gradient map layer more vibrant. i added this after the fact, but wanted it positioned here.
the subsequent brightness/contrast layer is the same thing. the top row just needed some more work. same as the original b/c layer, i didn't adjust the values and set the layer to screen. on this one, i dropped the opacity to 45%.
finally, the pièce de résistance, the gradient map layer! i just slapped on a gradient map adjustment layer. the color on the left should always be your darker color, and in this case, i want it true black. the color goes on the right, and bc this was a lesbian flag set, i just googled the specific hex codes for the lesbian pride flag and used those colors for each row! here's what that looks like for the orange portion of the set:

to change the colors, you just click on the lil square guys on the bottom of the gradient and you can choose a color from the color picker or just copy and paste a hex code.
and there you have it! i lovelovelove using gradient maps for big, vibrant pops of color, but also for gifs of scenes that are just. so hard to color lmao. call it a cop-out, but it makes my life a lot easier 😂

I’m curious to know whether you think Cinder would suffer from some trauma or PTSD following the events of the revolution. It’s clear she’s had some early PTSD since the fire with her nightmares and such other things, but do you think there would be new signs of trauma, perhaps from the stabbing? If so, how do you think she would cope and what things do you think Kai would do to support her? (Sorry if this sounds like some high analysis questions you’d see in English class😅)
100%. All of the crew would suffer from trauma from the events of the revolution. We know Cinder has nightmares of the fire and I believe that they would start to blend into her other traumas--yes the stabbing, but more likely her drowning and accidentally killing the cop in France. She'd learn to cope with therapy, something I don't think she'd initially seek out. But Kai would also be in therapy (probably since the death of his mother as a child) and he would encourage her to try it out.
For the first two years of their relationship, being separated, the most Kai could do to help her would be to talk to her. They'd mutually express their fears and anxieties. Once they're together in person, they could be more active in helping one another. Sometimes their relationship is 50/50, but on the days that Cinder is struggling, it becomes more 70/30; Kai shouldering more of the weight while she works through her trauma. Sometimes, she's the one taking the brunt of things while he struggles.
Kai would look out for things that would help her; taking over some of her empress duties temporarily, reading up on a movie before watching it and choosing a different one if it has violence or fire or drowning or other things that would trigger her PTSD. If someone gifts them candles, he discreetly disposes of them before Cinder can see them. When they attend the Olympics together as honoured guests and the torch is lit, Kai tells her to close her eyes and when to open them again, because at her first time at the Olympics she had a panic attack seeing the combustion of flame.
This would all be reciprocal; Kai has trauma around Levana, and his parents, and the weight of his responsibility as emperor, and Cinder would do her part to help him too.
She learns to take care of herself, to do things not just because other people want her to or are relying on her for. She spends much time in the garage working on her mechanical projects despite having no real need to, and this helps her focus away from bad thoughts. Delegating tasks to others also helps her manage her busy schedule, and the less overworked she is, the less likely she is to fall into a bad headspace.

Hi, anon! I don't really mind sharing how I apply patterns to my GIFs. It's easy to do and quite fun once you get the hang of it. And thank you! I really appreciate it. I'm glad you love my GIFs. (°◡°♡)
I use Photoshop 2021 but I think this applies to older versions too. Also, just a disclaimer that I am not a PS expert. This is just how I prefer to edit my GIFs so take whatever I will say here with a grain of salt. Lastly, I apologize if my English is bad and my explanation is lengthy. This is my first time making a tutorial of some sort. (⌒_⌒;)
Please check the steps under the cut.
Find a pattern that you want to apply to your GIF.
I don't know the link anymore to the actual pattern I am using so I will use a different one that has the same style. So for this example, I will be using Halftone Patterns by EDFTeam that I found from DeviantArt. To download the file, you need to log in to the site. If you want a different pattern but with the same style, just search for halftone patterns.]
Import the .PAT file on PS.
Make sure that Pattern is enabled [Windows > Pattern]. On Patterns tab, click Import Patterns. Find the folder where you saved the .pat file, select the file, and then load it. If loaded successfully, the patterns should appear at the bottom of the list:

Apply one of the patterns above your GIF layer.

In this example, I made sure that my GIF layer was selected before choosing a pattern. So that when I clicked the pattern, it would automatically be clipped to the GIF layer.

This is how it will look like once you click one of the patterns. In my case, I selected the first one. It looks reddish because of my coloring. This is another reason why I prefer the Pattern layer right after the GIF layer so the pattern will also adopt my coloring.
If you are using Video Timeline mode, make sure to adjust the Pattern Fill layer to the other layers to avoid blank layers when saving the GIF file. If you are using Frame Timeline mode, then there's no need to do this.

Change the blend mode of the Pattern Fill to your preferred style.

I typically use Darken or Multiply to add a darker shade of pattern fill to my GIF. And if I want to lighten, I use Lighten or Screen. But feel free to explore other blend modes as well. In this example, I used Lighten.
Decrease the opacity of the Pattern Fill.

For Lighten/Screen blend mode, I typically set the opacity to 5%. And for Darken/Multiply, I set it to 10%. [This is just my preference though since I want to add a subtle pattern texture that does not interfere with my coloring.]
Make necessary adjustments to your coloring layers (optional).
This is only optional, but if you think your GIF already looks good without readjusting any of the other layers, then you're good to go. In my case, I would make slight changes to the Brightness/Contrast and Levels Adjustment layers.

You can also adjust the size of your pattern.

Double-click the layer thumbnail of the pattern fill layer. Then change the percentage and click OK. You can go beyond 100% if you want to make the pattern bigger.

This is just my observation but if you are planning to use the GIF as part of a photo set with more than 1 column, you might want to enlarge the pattern so it will still be noticeable.
With 100%, this is how your set GIF is gonna look:

As you can see, the pattern is not noticeable at 100% if positioned in 2 columns but it becomes apparent at 150%. So basically, my rule here is a larger pattern size for a smaller GIF display.
You can also clip patterns to shapes and other smart objects other than your GIF layer.

In this example, I chose a heavy font type for the clipping mask so the patterns are visible which I then converted to a smart object. And since the pattern is applied to the text, you can have these layers above your coloring. [I haven't done this before but I thought of including this because it's also a nice way of using patterns.]

You can also modify the mask of the pattern where it is being applied.

The white space signifies that the entire space of the GIF layer is filled with patterns. You can change this by using the brush tool [set the color to black] to erase the parts you didn't want to be filled with patterns. Make sure the layer mask thumbnail is selected and not the layer thumbnail. You can switch back to white color if you want to erase the result of your brush.

In this example, I tried to erase a lot of white spaces to make it look like a frame. With this, I can go wilder with the pattern. I select Overlay as blend mode and set opacity to 100%.

Heyo! I saw your post about RSD and tried to comment but Tumblr said "no," so I'm sending it as an ask, I guess. 😅 Not trying to be a creeper.
I took Focalin for a while (currently on a blend of Wellbutrin and Prozac, because it manages all parts of my AuDHD well). It helped with a lot of the symptoms of brain fog and executive dysfunction, but I haven't noticed much (if any) difference in my RSD. If anything, it gives you a tiny gap of space in between the painful impact and your reaction. So I get a (non-judgy) mental voice letting me know that while my feelings are real and valid, assigning extra meaning to the perceived rejection isn't helping me.
Silly example: getting a briefer text without all the required emojis and punctuation to let me know the other person isn't pissed at me.
This feels like a slap in the face OR like a hole ripped in my gut. And I can't do anything about that feeling. But what I can do is realize my brain is telling me that the other person is upset, that I've done something wrong, etc etc. My brain is telling me that, but the only objective information I have is "I got a short text." It's up to the other person to tell me that they're actually upset.
So to sum up:
1. Meds didn't make RSD feel better (for me), but it gave me some breathing space to choose some different reactions.
2. Validating the reaction for how scary or painful it is (the reaction is NOT stupid) is important.
3. Recognize the other bits that are contributing to why this particular thing feels so very bad.
4. Discard everything that is not super simply and objectively true.
I know we tend to be hyper intuitive and often right in our assumptions, but the bottom line is that that sh1t is not our business.
I'm interested to hear other people's behavioral recs!

What really bugs me about the whole RSD situation is, that objectively I know. My brain knows. That the person is just in a hurry, that it wasn't directed at me, that sometimes things upset people and you can't avoid negative reactions. That it is impossible to be everybody's darling. All that. But 5 minutes later I'm sitting in the corner, crying anyway. Like, bawling my eyes out. And that makes me feel incredibly immature, not being able to rationally go over my emotions and deal with them like an adult (like all the other adults) and instead cry, because a coworker told me I'm a bit loud sometimes. Which is exactly what happened today. I had to go home from work early (I'm fucking… in my mid 30s goddamn!!!! I'm a project manager!), because I was in tears and could't get a grip of myself. That coworker has never said anything remotely mean to me ever and I felt so betrayed. Why was he being all nice and stuff all the time, if he thought I was loud and obnoxious? I know that that is what adult people do. Talk about things. Make a joke or try do soften the blow of giving someone critique by wrapping it in a funny comment or a little quip. But that did not prevent me from dissolving in a complete melt down. And of course I feel so stupid for it. In hindsight, this whole situation is just hysterical. And additionally, I'm going to completely change the way I interact with that person in the future from now on. Not consciously, but yeah. Also I'm super scared to go back to work tomorrow. I feel humiliated by him saying I was obnoxiously loud sometimes and always had to comment everything, in front of all the other team members. And them agreeing, after I asked a few in private. I don't want to be seen at that place anymore. I'm so sure they've talked about me behind my back before that situation. There also is a 100% chance I'm making this up in my head and actually everyone already forgot. Except me. I'm sitting here all paranoid and puffy-eyed, sniffling like an idiot about things that can't be changed anymore.
Thanks for sharing your insights! I actually feel better now. I'm a bit sad to hear, that medication didn't help you. I don't want to self-diagnose too much, but I was reading a bit about RSD and medication and how treating the ADHD through medication can affect the RSD positively. But we'll see.

Welcome to the wonderful world of birdy's opinions on yarn post. This particular post will only deal with 100% cotton yarn from various companies, in both cake and skein form.
A few disclaimers to start. I am in no way or shape being compensated to talk about these things; I'm just very opinionated about certain things. This post will only be dealing with cotton yarns; I have nothing against the use of acrylic yarns, but because of skin sensitivity I can't wear anything made out of acrylic, wool, or alpaca, so I'm using mostly cotton at the moment. Also, I only know how to crochet; I've tried to learn to knit and keep failing, so if you knit you might find very different experiences with all of these.
So. Let's talk yarn.

The above are only a fraction of what I currently have to use; I have at least 8 more brands of cotton, cotton/silk blend, and bamboo blend yarn to test out. At some point, after I have worked with them, I'll make an additional post (don't expect it for a while though).
First up, Dahlia, Dahlia Halloween (limited edition), Cotton Kings Sultan, Cotton Kings Sultan Shadow, and Black Friday yarn. I'm including all of these in one list because they are basically the same yarn under different brand names being sold by Hobbii. They all have the same yardage (800m/874yards), but each come in vastly different color lines.

Both Black Friday and Dahlia Halloween are limited releases each year and will be available until they sell out. Some color schemes don't return each year, which is a bit sad, so order early if you want something specific. The rest are available year round and are only subject to being out of stock at times. Sultan Shadow will always have black as it's outer color; there is another line called Sultan Pastello that has white instead of the black, but I currently don't own any of them.
All of these yarns are four strands that are not twisted together. Some people have difficulty with this, so the advice is to thread the yarn through a bead to keep them close together while working with it; I've never had an issue and haven't tried this method though so I can't speak for it. The color change is fairly subtly, but not completely even. Unlike their counter part Sultan Deluxe, these will skip parts of the color change. Each change is fairly even though, and it works up quite soft. Should definitely be used with a yarn bowl or in a container, as they are prone to collapsing and tangling as more yarn is pulled from the center (I use an old plastic food container because it works just fine for now). Weight is listed as a 2/Fine.
My rating: 9.5/10. I just wish the cake were a bit longer, but overall I've liked them for shawls and wraps.
Next up is Cotton Kings Sultan Deluxe, also from Hobbii.

As with the above, there are a lot of color combinations to choose from. These cakes tend to be bigger (1000m/1093yards), which I prefer. The strands are twisted together, which makes it easier to work with. It's also very soft straight from the skein and works to quite nice. The color changes are much more subtle and makes a great ombre or rainbow effect. There is also a version that comes with a metallic thread twisted into it to give it a subtle shine. Yarn bowl is also recommended for this. Weight is listed as a 2/Fine, which seems accurate.
My rating: 10/10. This is my preferred yarn at the moment. Lovely for blankets and shawls, and someday I plan to make a coat for myself out of a horded color I've buried in my yarn storage shelf.
Next on the list, Yarn Arts Rosegarden.

I'll be honest. I hated this yarn the first time I worked with it. It's thinner than Sultan Deluxe and far more prone to splitting, which frustrated me at first. However, I did grow to like it and enjoyed working with the purple and pink cakes, so the odds of my buying it again increased after the second project. The color changes are not as subtle as the Dahlia and others; it's a bit more abrupt, but still works up nice over a large project. It's very soft right at the start, which is a plus. In terms of length it's the same as Sultan Deluxe, and it does have the benefit of being available through Amazon if that's easier for you; it's also generally cheaper than Sultan Deluxe, as far as I've seen.
My rating: 8/10. Like I said, it grew on me and my rating might go up the more I work with it. Made nice blankets, though I've yet to try other things with it.
Now onto Etrofil Re-Public.

I wanted to hate this yarn when I first got it. Compared to all the others, it was pretty rough feeling in skein form; I wound up loving it the longer I worked it with and ordered several more skeins in various colors before I finished the cardigan I was making. It's made from 100% recycled cotton, which is nice. It does feel pretty stiff at the start, but in the course of working with it, it soften up the more it rubbed against things; I'm sure after washing it, it will be nicer still. There was no weight listed on the wrapper, but according to Amazon it's listed as a 1/Fingering weight. This is a lie. It is much closer to a 4/Worsted weight, which is good because I've been struggling to find a 4 weight cotton yarn I like. Color change is less subtle but I had no problems with splitting so it worked out fine.
My rating: 9.5/10. Only downside is that most of the colors at sold out on Amazon and don't seem like they'll come back in any time soon.
The last random color changing yarn I've tried lately is Candy from Stenli.

This will be the last picture added to this post, because mobile apparently hit it's limit. So. Anyway. Candy. Fairly soft straight away. Color changes are not subtle; it's a bit blockier and more noticeable when it changes. Claims to be a 2 weight but is also closer to a 4. I liked working with this one, except for the fact that it's only 900m per skein. And I can no longer find it online easily, so once I use the final skein I'm probably done with the brand.
My rating: 8/10. Made a nice shawl, just wish it was longer in yardage.
The following deal with mostly solid color cottom yarns, which for me are more suitable for amigurumi and decorative granny squares.
Bernat CottonTots. I honestly hate this yarn, lol. It's loosely wound with only a thin string around the strand and if you pull on it too hard it tends to rip (so it's not suitable for sewing amigurumi pieces together). It does seem pretty strong once it's crocheted together but getting there irritates me. It's also got a texture that I don't enjoy but only I seem to notice. I'm only using this because I had some from years ago that I want to use up, but the odds of me buying it again is low.
My rating: 2/10
Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton. This one is a mercerized cotton. It is fairly strong but works up stiff unless you use a larger hook. I've made a few amigurumi with it and it's... okay. My personal experience is that the colors are not the same in real life as on their website; I've started looking at it at Joann's in person to get an idea of the true color and then ordering it from the Lion Brand website because it's cheaper that way. I'm thinking it will make nice clothes than toys, so that's my next experiment with it. Weight is a 4/Medium/Worsted, which is accurate.
My rating: 6/10. I don't think I'm a big fan of mercerized yarn but we'll see.
Hobbii Rainbow cotton. So this one is interesting. There are three types of Rainbow yarn. 8/4, 8/6, 8/8. I mostly use 8/8, which is listed as a 3/Sport weight, but is close enough to a 4 weight that is blends in nicely. Lots of colors to choose from and Hobbii offers a discount for buying in bulk as well as offering color packs. Works up quite nice, soft, and strong. Only downside is the 8/8 only has 75m/82yards per tiny skein. There are occasionally cones with longer yardage available, but for the best color selection go with the small skeins.
(Currently there is a new brand from Hobbii called the Friends line. I haven't tried it yet, but it promises to be the same color across all is various yarn types (as much as possible). I'm hoping it won't replace Rainbow because I love the color selection and no other brand offers the same range.)
My rating: 10/10
As an added bonus, the Hobbii brands, Etrolfil Re-Public, and Candy all come with easy start tags (Hobbii and Etrofil use stickers, Candy came with a wooden charm). I love easy start yarn. It definitely lessens the chance of a yarn barf.

As I said at the start, all of this is merely my own opinion and your experiences may vary. Hopefully someone finds this informative or at least entertaining. A lot of alternative rock this year, especially with the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart having major influence over the Billboard Hot 100. Rap and R&B are also blending a lot more, which artists from both genres appearing on each others' tracks.
However, when it comes to music business history, this year kicked off with a bang. 2001 marks the release of iTunes and the iPod, which would heavily alter trends in music listening and try to provide one solution to the issue of music piracy. After the previous decades of listeners being expected to pay full price for a CD, going to $0.99 per song felt like a downgrade in terms of profits. But even with Napster shut down, but piracy still left the music industry scrambling for a solution. With listeners being able to buy individual songs, the rising popularity of iTunes was great for singles, but not the best for album sales. With the iPod, music listening trends were also moving in favor of individual listening as portable music became more accessible. It will take a few years for both this product and platform to reach their cultural and economic peaks, but the trends are starting to shift here.
Also to address the elephant in the room, this was also the year of the September 11 attacks. Despite the event forever affecting American culture, those effects aren't that obvious when looking at this chart. Like with the Vietnam War era, some songs had the event projected onto them. But unlike the Vietnam War era, protest music won't be as prominent in the mainstream. The popular music at the time seemed to want to be defiantly apolitical, whether as a coping mechanism or to avoid public backlash (which we will definitely get to in a few years) differs depending on the artists. But to get to the music itself, iHeartMedia (formerly Clear Channel Communications) famously banned the airplay of a number of songs following the attacks. I'm not going to go over all 165, but previous poll entries featured on this list includes: Walk Like an Egyptian by the Bangles, Johnny Angel by Shelley Fabrares, Bennie and the Jets by Elton John, American Pie by Don McLean, Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bridge over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel, War by Edwin Star, and Jump by Van Halen.

The film has earned over $240 million at the box office and currently sits at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. Reviews demonstrate a widespread appreciation for the movie’s numerous winning aspects, including its thoughtful script, powerhouse cast, and stunning visuals.
As one of the biggest directors working today, Christopher Nolan boasts a thoughtful vision, as well as the resources to pull it off. As such, the story of Oppenheimer’s production is a rich one. The ways in which Nolan chooses to challenge the conventions and standards of filmmaking demonstrate the director’s ambition and skill. However, the film also benefits from the keen insights and creative generosity of the director’s collaborators. Much like the film itself, Oppenheimer’s production paints the picture of a unique and staggering work brought to life by a creative visionary and his diligent team.
10. Oppenheimer's Atomic Bomb Explosion Was Done Practically
The defining moment of Oppenheimer is the successful detonation of the atomic bomb at the Trinity test. For Christopher Nolan, it was important that the Oppenheimer explosion was captured without CGI so that it could be “beautiful and terrifying in equal measure.” For Nolan, this effect can’t be achieved with CGI, something which “inherently is quite comfortable to look at.” Instead, the director chose to detonate a smaller real bomb, using a mixture that involved gasoline, petroleum, aluminum powder, and magnesium flares to produce the blinding light, plumes of fire, and mushrooming effect typical of an atomic bomb. Nolan used forced perspective to give the detonation a sense of scale.
9. Oppenheimer Features No CGI Shots
Oppenheimer’s dramatic explosion isn’t the only surprising use of practical effects. Christopher Nolan even made headlines in the lead-up to the film’s release by remarking that there are “No CGI shots in Oppenheimer”. However, this doesn’t mean that the film employs no CGI at all. Rather, not a single shot in the biopic is made up entirely of CGI. This is no mean feat, since some of the images, particularly the visualizations of atomic particles, would be far easier to render as fully CG creations. In the production of the film, these visualizations were created through a blend of VFX and practical filmmaking that gives the moments real, tangible weight.
8. Cillian Murphy's Oppenheimer Look Was Inspired By David Bowie
Cillian Murphy strikes a vivid figure in Oppenheimer. It’s hard to express exactly what sets Oppenheimer’s look apart from the dozens of other suit-wearing physicists in the movie, but there’s certainly an ephemeral quality to the look that makes it feel distinct. Christopher Nolan used David Bowie as an influence for the scientist’s appearance. According to Murphy (via Vulture), the director would send him photos of the rock star in the 1970s, “when he was so skinny and kind of emaciated but had these wonderfully tailored suits with the trousers, that was the Oppenheimer silhouette.”
7. RDJ, Emily Blunt, & Matt Damon Took Pay Cuts To Be In Oppenheimer
Oppenheimer boasts a shockingly stacked cast, from top-tier character actors to screen veterans and even current A-listers in supporting roles. While the movie’s budget of $100 million is high for a dramatic biopic, it wouldn’t be sufficient to pay the usual salaries of some of its biggest stars. Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, and Robert Downey Jr. are all big box office draws who could easily demand $10-20 million for a film appearance. However, Variety reports that an eagerness to work with Christopher Nolan encouraged the stars to drop their quote dramatically, although the stars all have deals for a share of the film’s backend profits.
6. Oppenheimer Required The Invention Of A New Kind Of Film Stock
One of the trademarks of the latter part of Christopher Nolan’s career has been the director’s employment of IMAX technology. The director meets the scale of his work by suiting its presentation to the largest screen possible. This commitment created a challenge with the black-and-white sequences of Oppenheimer since black-and-white IMAX film stock did not exist when Nolan began developing the film. Instead of compromising on his use of IMAX or the use of grayscale sequences in the film, Nolan had film stock manufacturer Kodak develop the first-ever black-and-white film stock for IMAX (via Collider).
5. Oppenheimer Is (Almost) Too Big For IMAX
Black-and-white stock isn’t the only new IMAX ground Christopher Nolan broke with Oppenheimer. Around the time of the film’s release, Nolan treated the internet to a look at the IMAX film print for Oppenheimer, which is the biggest ever. The reel is over 11 miles long and weighs over 600 lbs. The director is no stranger to pushing the limits of IMAX projectors; his previous IMAX epic Interstellar required a widening of the standard projector platter to accommodate the size of the 167-minute film. However, Nolan reports (via Collider) that the projector is now at its absolute limit with Oppenheimer since the projector’s arm can’t physically bear any more weight.
4. Oppenheimer's Kyoto Bombing Line Was Unscripted
For many viewers, one of the most harrowing moments in Oppenheimer isn’t a dramatic visual, but an offhanded comment made by a minor character. In the scene where US Secretary of War Stimson (James Remar) discusses which Japanese cities should be targets for the atomic bomb, he crosses Kyoto off the list, remarking that he and his wife honeymooned there. It’s a chilling moment based on actual history that powerfully skewers the calculating remoteness of those involved with the bombing. According to Nolan, the devastating Oppenheimer line was suggested by Remar himself, who had learned the fact while conducting his own research into the character.
3. Robert Pattinson Inspired Oppenheimer
Christopher Nolan credits Robert Pattinson, star of his previous blockbuster Tenet, with igniting his interest in the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer. According to CBR, Pattinson gifted Nolan with a book of Oppenheimer’s speeches towards the end of production on Tenet. Nolan became fascinated with the character of Oppenheimer and began to envisage a film that would tell the story. Unfortunately, Nolan wasn’t able to fit Pattinson into Oppenheimer, explaining (via Digital Spy) that the actor is “very much in demand these days”.
2. Most Of Oppenheimer’s Script Is Written In The First Person
Christopher Nolan has long held a reputation as a director who defies conventions, from the backward chronology of Memento to the alternating timeframes of Dunkirk. The director recently revealed to THR that he broke a major screenwriting convention with his Oppenheimer script, by writing large portions in the first person. Nolan explains that, in order to help differentiate the script’s timelines, everything in the film which takes place from Oppenheimer’s own perspective is told in the first person. In the film, this distinction is shown through color grading, with everything outside of Oppenheimer’s perspective shown in stark black-and-white.
1. Cillian Murphy Nearly Played Oppenheimer In A TV Show
Cillian Murphy has rightly seen a deluge of critical praise for his performance in Oppenheimer. Not only does the actor bear a physical resemblance to the real figure, he brings a riveting sense of alienated pathos to the role that effortlessly maintains audience engagement. However, this isn’t the first time Cillian Murphy was considered to play Oppenheimer. In 2014, the series Manhattan, another dramatization of the creation of the atomic bomb, featured the nuclear scientist as a secondary character. According to the series’ creator, Sam Shaw “We wanted Oppenheimer […] to feel alien, or other, in some ways. A thousand percent, Cillian Murphy was on that list.”'
