Oh boy, oh boy, do I have something for you. I really hope this is as good as the other requests I’ve given you, but can you imagine a Percy x Zagreus!reader?
The Reader is the child of Zagreus himself, who doesn’t have a good relationship with the Olympian queen. This means Hera is against his child as well and, despite being a goddess of marriage, tries to keep them away from their father as much as possible. But the Reader doesn’t care, they’ll fight their way to the Underworld no matter how long it might take.
So… how do you think Percy would react with this one? Think he’ll fall head over heels for their determined attitude? Join them in their runs? Patch them up while also scolding them if they come back terribly injured? You gotta tell me what you think.
Hope this is good, hope your day is going well, and have a good morning! Or afternoon…? Maybe even night?
And no, no, I did not draw inspiration from the Hades game, slowly falling in love with it, and trying to find as much gameplays as I can. Nope, don’t know what you’re talking about (😉)
Percy with a Child of Zagreus Reader
Tumblr media
OOOOO😻😻 I can smell the bitterness of this reader coming from a mile away💀
I didn’t even know there was a game called Hades, Imma have to look a little into. I kinda mostly focused on reader for this one if I’m being honest
Not proofread💔
Tumblr media
Being a child of Zagreus, Hera has put reader through HELL growing up
Like gods aren’t normally supposed to interfere with demigods and whatnot but since she has a bone to pick with the underworld god, you would never be on good terms with Hera
Zagreus would’ve wanted to raise you himself lowkey, probably if your mother died unexpectedly, and mostly to protect you from the wrath of the goddess
But this is Hera we’re talking about, she’s a very bitter and unfair goddess, so she’s willing to tear you both apart if it means seeing Zagreus continuously suffering
Reader is forced to grow up alone, running away from danger that seems to follow them at every corner and turn
The only thing you would have of your father is a pendant of his, and the distant memory of his face
Maybe he even gave you a blessing of protection and perseverance, something that would help you before you were taken away from him
I think Hera would have some curse placed on you and your father, something that keeps y’all from each other
Him trapped in the underworld and you forced to walk the world of the living, cursed to never find an entrance to the world below
Yeah you grow up very untrusting towards others because of Hera’s constant tricks
Most people you’ve met had always broken your trust and betrayed you in some way
So it’s no real shocker when you keep your distance when you first meet Percy
Percy had probably saved you from being eaten by a monster or even helped you run away from some situation that escalated badly
Whatever happened, he’s eager to talk to a new demigod!
It’s not everyday he meets a new halfblood outside of camp
And as nice and silly as he is, you can’t let yourself get close to him, after all this could just be another façade sent to distract you
So it surprises him when you walk past him without introducing yourself or thanking him
You kinda just look at him and move on with your life💀
And that’s what makes you so interesting to Percy! With the way you walk like you’re on a mission, since he has nothing better to do, he decides to join you!
And that’s how his journey with you begins
He fills the empty silence left by you with loud talking and ramblings, and somewhere along your journey, you actually begin to enjoy his company
One worded responses turn to small comments to actual conversations
You can’t help it honestly, you’ve been alone for so long that you crave the presence of another person
It’s a weakness that has led to so much heartbreak and betrayal in your past
But you allow yourself to indulge in Percy, allow yourself to believe he won’t turn against like the others had
Percy definitely notices how you don’t reveal much about yourself
You’re so closed off to a point where he basically only knows your name
And yet he can’t stop his heart from beating faster when you let a smile slip when he says something stupid
I think it would be during the dead of night where you finally reveal why you’ve been wandering around
Like y’all have been traveling together for a while and you ACTUALLY trust him
Percy is so sincere and doesn’t make false promises or comments
He’s an open book basically😭 you can tell he’s a genuine person, and from what you’ve heard about the demigod, he’s a good person
You dare say you might have even grown to like him😦
He honestly admires your perseverance and bravery, like you’ve been on your own for YEARS
Your determination to see your father again captivated him
He feels sorry for you too, you’ve been separated from the only family you know and with no way to get to him
He’s also lowkey scared of your lack of respect towards the powerful goddess
He’s learned to never make a god angry, but he guesses that doesn’t apply to your situation since the goddess had been after you the second you were born
Percy would totally mention how his friend, Annabeth, claims that Hera has a vendetta against her too
If this is after the first war with Kronos, I think you might even reveal how you fought along side him
Percy is shocked to hear that but not really surprised since you never had a good relationship with the Olympian
Kronos promised you that you would be able to see your father again, so you willingly joined his army
Like having this convo with you, it really makes Percy see how anyone can be influenced by the experiences they go through in their life
Percy really wants to help you so I think he might introduce you to Nico
“Nico might actually be able to help you get to the underworld! He’s the son of Hades, by the way.”
“Wait, are you serious? Hades has a son? Why didn’t you say anything sooner?!”
It takes time trying to contact the younger boy, but you still jump on Percy and hug him cuz AHH
You might actually be able to see your father!!!
And Percy is just as happy to see you smiling brightly as the younger boy makes his appearance
Hell you might even give him a small peck on the cheek as a thank you teehee (this dudes face would be REEEDDDD)
But danger finally strikes you all when Nico leads you to an entrance to the underworld
Monster quite literally spawn out of NOWHERE, mostly attacking you and keeping you away from the one place where people would stray far away from
You dodge any swipes and attacks aimed at you, inching closer to the entrance until you’re launched back
Battered and bruised, you get up only to be pulled away by Percy
He would try to explain that it was too dangerous to continue, that you all needed to fall back and come up with a plan!
“Percy let go of me! I’m so close, you can’t do this to me!”
“We need to get back now! Please! We won’t be able to beat them! They’ll kill you!”
It’s a complete surprise to him and Nico when you pull out a sword against him, it being half celestial bronze and steel
Nah cuz this would be a major breaking point for both of y’all, having such a dangerous weapon would cause Percy to question your morals😭💔
You would slowly back away from him, realizing that he didn’t betray your trust, but you betrayed his
You would separate from him as you fight your way to the underworld entrance, looking back once to him, heart breaking at the sight of his hurt expression
Your alone in the underworld now, and Percy can’t help but feel hurt that you would be so reckless and driven to this state
He would totally go in after you though despite Nico’s warnings
If Percy can find you before you run into any more trouble, then maybe your fate won’t end in tragedy
Zagreus!Reader is actually pretty reckless when it comes to being reunited with their father. It’s something that Percy admires and hates about them, since most of the time it leads them to getting hurt in the end
He just wants to help you in anyway he can, you just gotta let him help. Your untrusting nature might be the cause of your downfall if you don’t learn to trust others💔
(I love this reader tbh, so much potential when it comes to the underworld hehe)

Triton never gave much thought to his bastard half-brother. Not after their first meeting. It was supposed to be an easy job to lend a helping hand as a favor to one of his oldest friends. It also worked out perfectly because Triton needed a small break. He did not expect to meet the demigod that had the divine world wound up.

He can see Prince Perseus' body change a little, pink and blue scales bubbling just under his skin as King-prince Triton forces him to own up to his heritage. They are so similar in their instinct even when they are different. It's strange, especially to an outsider who happens to know that they didn't grow up together, because looking at them now - clashing but together, a force to be reckoned with - he wouldn't have been able to tell. When people touched him, they usually flinched and took a few steps back. Some got really pale in the face and once, a teacher had fainted after grabbing his arm. He didn’t really get why, other people never seemed to have the problem, but that was just another way he was special. The only person that ever really touched him was his mom, but even she was hesitant and he knew she hurt just as much as everyone else. It was his fault. His freaky body. It felt unfair, kind of, that so many kids had these traits, but only Percy was debilitated by them. He wanted a hug. He wanted to high-five Grover and give Annabeth a fist-bump. Hell, he couldn’t even train normally, because his opponents couldn’t touch him. It made him hate himself. Hate his Dad. Hate the fates. -- Percy had returned from the stupid quest with Annabeth and had stupidly touched the statue, leaving him gasping on the ground, as a coldness like never before spread through his entire body. Distantly, he could hear Annabeth shout and try to touch him, but he hurriedly rolled away, she couldn’t touch him! or: Percy inherits some fun blowfish traits and when trouble comes, he has to turn to his family for help

Not that a single thing in the past few minutes made much of any sense. Firstly Percy never prayed to him, so hearing him do so filled the god with trepidation. Despite whatever situation he thought he would find the demigod in, not for a moment did the messenger even consider that his brother would be lying face first in a bathtub, one foot hooked over the edge of the tub, and the other wedged in the corner. As it turns out, when a demigod rejects their godly parent’s domain with such vehemence, the god and their child could become entirely severed from one another. There was little knowledge on the matter, the bottom line seemed to be that if the two did not mend the sever, Perseus would slowly fade away and die, step by step loosing more and more of himself as his soul desperately tried to mend the gaping hole in itself. Triton couldn't even imagine. The most terrifying concept to him was piece by piece loosing what made him who he was. “This… this would qualify as a mental breakdown, right?” Triton asked, frowning over his shoulder to where Percy was still fuming in the corner. The lady at the counter curiously glanced over before lifting a questioning brow. “My brother – half-brother, technically, I have much better breeding – decided to run away from home to where our father can’t reach him and now he won’t leave. And now I can’t leave unless he leaves,” Triton continued. Percy opened his mouth to object that wasn’t what happened at all, but the tyrant only waved a hand to silence him. “He’s seen war or whatever, so if you could maybe just drug him then I’ll throw him into a suitcase and we can be out of here by the Summer Solstice!” Silence. Finally, the woman cleared her throat and turned to Percy. “I’m guessing he’s the one you want checked into the mental hospital?” She asked. Triton gasped as Percy punched the air in victory. “Aha!” Or: Getting in trouble works a little differently when your parent is an all-powerful god. in the genuine way possible, Why do you like Raimi verse MJ?
Would like a description of your thoughts.
So I just woke up (I know it’s 6PM I work night shifts) so this might not be as well verbalized as it could be. (Update: I put this in drafts and am now adding to it at midnight but I have had a day so prior warnings apply)
But for me, she’s a nuanced and flawed female character who isn’t given the credit for that she deserves and I think she kicks ass as a result. I don’t need characters I like to be good people, I need them to be interesting. She’s interesting.
But in terms of what people normally hate her for, I don’t really tend to agree for a variety of reasons. The main thing people get on her about is cheating, which is very much true, but that feels unfair when Peter also cheats! And he doesn’t see nearly the same amount of shit thrown at him that MJ does! (Wonder why that is?) Hell, he hits her while he has the symbiote but I barely see people bring it up. But on the note of her cheating, I don’t mind it because we’re given a reason as to why she’s got such bad commitment issues that I find interesting. She grew up in an extremely unstable home with a seemingly chronically ill mother and a verbally and likely physically abusive father. She’s a dysfunctional person for sure, but we as a community are more than willing to read into and analyze far worse behaviors in Peter, Harry, hell, people outright ignore Norman being an abusive father. It’s bs to me that she’s not given the same treatment. Shes someone who grew up in an unstable environment. Shes used to that. Her entire life in her formative years was that. As a result, the way I see it, she either gets into relationships with people who tend to continue not treating her well (Flash and to a degree Harry.) and when she’s in more stable relationships that hurt her less, (like John) I theorize that the reason she does so much to put them in jeopardy is that her, stability with men in her life is always something that has ended inevitably, but abruptly and probably violently. Being the one to destroy a relationship her trauma screams at her will inevitably end with her being hurt again gives her a sense of control.
And on top of that, I find her emotional responses to Peter’s behavior while he dates her extremely human! Sure, she definitely makes mistakes in how she handles it, but I personally absolutely hate the degree to which people ignore Peter’s own mistreatment of her. I’m not gonna claim she did nothing wrong, but people in this fandom have a tendency to remove responsibility or the ability to have done something wrong from Peter. At that point in the movies, Peter has everything going for him. His life is finally going well and as a result of his own inflated ego and the fact the world has revolved around him he sort of seems to forget that she has her own life and her own problems that she wants to be heard and understood and supported through. His ability to do that is one of the things that drew her to him in the first movie and she’s watching him as it becomes apparent he doesn’t really have that anymore. Everything in his life revolves around him and has for years, so when her life problems get brought up and he makes them about himself and remains somewhat unempathetic and so absorbed in his own joy he doesn’t notice how poorly she’s doing, I find it personally hard to deny that’s exactly how I would feel in that situation. I hate that people refuse to empathize with her, or when they do on a surface level they still refuse to acknowledge any blame Peter has there. Hell, I find it hard to deny that I’m irritated that it’s basically overlooked that Peter kissed another woman in front of her face but people will rip her to shreds for kissing another man one time. I’m not gonna say she didn’t fuck up, but I find the way she’s treated unfair and I frankly think the opinion wouldn’t skew the same if she was a man for both of these topics.
I also just like that she’s a person? She has emotions that feel real, she has a life and a career outside her relationship with Peter, she has compelling trauma that informs her decisions. I frankly find her to be a more nuanced and interesting character than MCU MJ or TASM Gwen simply because she feels more well rounded and flawed. They’re better and more likeable love interests, but I frankly think she’s a better character. Everything that people praise in them as something that makes them Better Than Raimi MJ either feels like rather shallow traits or things that feel somewhat misogynistic towards Raimi MJ, a character who they claim they don’t like due to misogynistic writing. No hate to those to ladies, I see the appeal to them and I think people should like them, but Raimi Mj has more depth to me.
In conclusion: To like a character I don’t need them to be a good person I need them to be interesting. Shes interesting. Also everyone in this trilogy, including Peter, is at least somewhat a bad person. So I don’t know why she specifically is being treated with so much less grace other than the obvious reason.

Sirius Black character study I guess.
This is will follow canon to the best of my abilities however, screw you Joanne.
(Content warning, mentions of abuse, though vague, idk if I should add a cw but just in case)
Sirius’ childhood and home life; Contrary to popular belief, Sirius wasn’t heinously abused, in fact, we can assume that Walburga did love him, in her own way of course that’s not to say that she was a good mother, but it is something to keep in mind. His home life was bad, yes, but a common misconception I see in this fandom is that Sirius canonically got cruciatus cursed by his own mother, which is in fact not canon. Sirius had a terribly complicated relationship with his mother, he used all those spells on his room to keep it in that order and pristine, yet when he came back to his home years later, he chose to sleep in his parents bedroom. With Walburga’s painting, he tells them to move it, or cover it up, but he doesn’t tell them to destroy it. Sirius and Walburga had a terribly complex relationship, she wasn’t a good mother by any means, but she wasn’t an overly abusive cruel one.
Sirius’ running away and disownment; Another common misconception is that Sirius got disowned then ran away when it’s actually the opposite, he also did not leave because he was getting horrifically abused, that’s not to say his home life wasn’t awful, it was, but he left because of his parents pureblood beliefs and politics in general. Sirius did not get disowned before he ran away, it was after. We also have no proof that he was beaten the night he left, unlike some people try to point at.
Sirius and The Prank: Sirius did not tell Snape about the whomping willow for a good reason, he did not tell Snape about the tree out of fear of being blackmailed, or hurt, or anything else like that, the very simple and easy explanation for The Prank is that Sirius, was an idiotic teenage boy who did not think about the consequences of his actions, or the effects it would’ve had on both parties. I see the common, “oh Sirius would’ve been so lonely and sad and it’s so unfair how his friends isolated him”, when we can safely say that he did not feel remorseful for it, at all. In fact when he’s later talking about it in the shrieking shack, his exact words and justification are,
“It served him right,” he sneered. “Sneaking around, trying to find out what we were up to … hoping he could get us expelled …”
I could only see Sirius feeling even slightly remorseful for how it caused Remus to feel, but even then, I don’t imagine Remus would’ve brought the issue up all that much. (Which I will get into it you guys want to hear about that :D)
Sirius and arrogance; Sirius’ arrogance has a HUGE part to play in both the marauders and in James and Lily’s deaths, throughout the books we see Sirius and James as the main aggressors in their back and forth bullying with Snape(back and forth from both parties but still). With James and Lily’s death, it was James primarily but Sirius was mentioned that turned down Dumbledore’s offer for him to be the Potters’ secret keeper, insisting that Sirius was the right guy and that he could do it, however Sirius decided that nah that was too obvious, that they’d make “weak talentless” Peter the secret keeper, because no one would expect that, to make this plan even better, they then did not tell Dumbledore of this genius plan, nor Remus because Sirius was so convinced that Remus was the spy, that they just did not feel it was safe to tell him. That is what kept him in Azkaban for so long, theoretically he could’ve broken out anytime he damn pleased but, the guilt of being quite accidentally responsible for Lily and James’ deaths, that is what kept him in there.
Sirius and his loosened grip on his sanity; The man spent twelve years in Azkaban, his sanity definitely had declined by the time he left, we can in fact see this is certain choices that he makes and when he tells Harry “nice one, James”. He wasn’t the best father figure because he was still basically trapped in his twenty one year old mind. We can further point at grief and guilt as another reason for his sanity dwindling, as we know, he felt a good bit responsible for James and Lily’s deaths, add that on top of the grief of losing two of the closest people to him, and bam, you have a guilt ridden twenty one year old to throw into what was basically hell for twelve years.
Anyways that’s the end of my ted talk, I love you Sirius Black.

Okay, so I have spent the better part of a year trying to write a Jayroy fic that I thought would honestly take only a couple of months. I was inspired by this other fic, and had gotten full permission, and I wrote loads for it, but nothing ever quite worked out.
What happened was I read That issue of Red Hood & the Outlaws.
I pretty much ignore the whole penguin beatdown thing (I also ignore the titan’s tower attack, but that’s another matter), I always want Bruce to be a good father and I have tended to write him that way.
Same with Oliver Queen.
However, I thought, within the continuity, it was very stupid and unfair that this incident never gets mentioned again and Bruce never encounters any repercussions whatsoever (all this assuming you want to believe that the “fight” was at all canon, which I don’t really), and I wanted catharsis. Sort of.
I wanted a reason for the main premise of the story to happen, and that seemed like the perfect opening for that, in addition to wanting to see some comeuppance.
That was the main downfall for this story. I got way too invested in the toxic familial relationships the New 52 spat out, and it kept going into all the wrong directions. I ended up disliking all but individual bits of it. It was too nasty for me to handle.
Add to that that I couldn’t seem to get a single characterisation right, and in spite of the great inspiration, the story had almost no plot, and I couldn’t figure out how to worm one in.
So I’m scrapping that effort, and starting completely from new.
The thing is, there was one bit I did really like, from Roy’s perspective, and I don’t want it to be completely lost, although I know it wouldn’t have anywhere to go in my new attempt.
It will probably showcase all the flaws I described, and may not be written terribly well, but I still liked the voice (even if it isn’t necessarily in character), and I liked some of the points I made about what I know of how they handled Sanctuary, so I’m putting it out here.
Content warnings will be tagged. If anyone thinks they can expand on this or do it better, feel free. Just remember to credit me or even piggy back on this post. If someone does write more to this, I would like to read it.
Writing under the cut.
Therapy sucks.
That was Roy’s professional opinion as a Therapizee. And his opinion about it mattered, damn it! Customer satisfaction, and all that.
It didn’t help that all his therapizers were robots or holograms.
In a way, it made it worse.
The robots could pretend to care all they wanted, but you always knew they didn’t.
And they were always recording. Roy was sure that was some sort of violation.
But seriously, you might as well be talking to a metal wall for all the good that did (a certain saying about first signs came to mind).
Add to that the fucking holograms.
They were meant to represent the people you had issues with, or who you cared about, giving messages of support and all that sappy stuff.
Roy guessed it was supposed to be cathartic, or some shit, but really it was just frustrating, bordering on maddening.
If he weren’t already in rehab for capes interacting with the stupid fuckers would have certainly put him there.
Really, there was nothing worse about yelling about a problem you had about your adoptive father to his face, then hear him say something you know he’d never actually say to you.
All it seemed to do was increase the issue exponentially, drive you crazy with the knowledge that you might be working through your problems, but the people the holograms were pretending to be sure as hell weren’t.
Roy found himself moving just as roboticslly through his day as his so-called therapists. Sleeping badly, missing his Jaybird, and finding he didn’t have much of an appetite for anything anymore.
He supposed the one good thing about it was that he was so numb he didn’t even feel the need for drugs or booze anymore.
Just…nothingness, really.
And missing Jason, obviously, but there wasn’t much he could do about that. His boyfriend was off being a hero, no thanks to Batman (may he lose the use of his stupid fortune and die alone in a ditch), and Roy had made a commitment.
He’d stick it out for his two months, and if it got better, great! If not? It’s only two months, and then he could go back to out-law-ing with Jason, no problem.
He’d never felt the loneliness, the sadness, that drove him to addiction when he was with Jaybird.
And yes, he knew being dependant on someone else for recovery was a Bad Thing, but it wasn’t that at all.
What he’d realised, almost the first day in this purgatory, was that he’d kept himself sober with Jason, so that he could be the best he could be for Jason.
Jason, who’d always told him—always showed him that he was worth more than Oliver or anyone else had ever treated him.
Jason, who’d always made sure he was okay, made sure he was managing, made sure he knew that Roy as a person was worth more than being wrecked by heroin and alcohol.
And Roy had believed it. Roy could believe anything Jason said about it, even when the other wasn’t there, because Jason was the one who said it. He’d believed it, even through that little…hiccup.
And when they had started working together, when it became apparent that this wasn’t a one-off, Jason had been scared. Scared of hurting Roy, but also scared of being hurt by Roy.
Roy had understood that, resoected that, and gone forward with all due caution, like when you approach a wild animal.
And then came Batman’s beatdown of the Red Hood, and it was only pure luck that he was in the area to save him, god knows the other bats probably hadn’t even noticed.
And that had been horrible, absolutely terrifying.
He had almost lost Jason.
They might never have had the chance to see what they could become, together.
But he survived, and they had their chance.
Unfortunately, Roy was the one with the issues this time.
He and Jason had finally (finally!) made real progress in their relationship, but this time it was Roy who was scared.
He’d gotten low again, the Titans had broken up again (after a rather disastrous attempt at getting together again), and every time he’d tried to talk it out with Ollie something else—not even something more important all of the time—always came up, and he’d left Roy hanging.
So he’d had a bit of a relapse, nothing major, just, y’know, way too many drinks at a bar, no biggie.
But he knew that tended to lead to something more.
That had scared him, badly.
Scared enough that even when he’d been feeling much better, even when he and Jason had come together againm even closer than before, he had gone to rehab.
He shouldn’t have. He should have remembered that recovery wasn’t linear. He’d had a dip, sure, but after, he knew he would have had a rise, he’d have just had to have waited.
But he hadn’t ever wanted Jason to see him that way.
He’d been told everything about Jason’s background by the man himself in an intimate moment, and he never wanted Jason to have to suffer through anything like that again.
So he’d left.
And so, he’d died.
Yeah, therapy sucked.

who is your favorite bob's burgers character? what's your favorite aspect about them?? what's your LEAST FAVORITE??
Thank you so much @br1ghtestlight for giving me this ask!! 😭❣️ Just for the future, though, if anyone wants to give me an ask, it’ll have to be through this account, because any ask given through my main account disappears because I’m still Shadowbanned and Tumblr is mean 😒
But onto the actual question!! Well, Light, you already know my absolute favorite is 1,000% our precious baby boy, Gene. I think my favorite aspect about him is that he has some of the best lines in the show humor-wise, but he has a great deal of depth hidden underneath the surface. He’s genuinely an incredibly talented musician (even though he and show claims he only knows a few chords, come on, he’s actually super talented) and he’s such a sweet person. He doesn’t enjoy pranking people simply because it makes them confused and uncomfortable. He just wants people to be happy!! 🥺
He also has a bigger body type which is rarely commented on and he has a love of food which is super relatable to me (I just love food, pffffft). And the headcanons of him being Genderfluid gives me an insane amount of Serotonin. It just makes me insanely happy. As a Genderfluid person, it makes me feel seen and represented, even though he’s not canonically Genderfluid. Just seeing him be unapologetically himself is incredibly lovely.
Now, because there are just so many characters I love, I must list a second favorite. And that would be Bob!! Previously, I’ve said Linda, and don’t get me wrong, I still love her. She’s hilarious and amazing and truly the best wife (🎶 Best of Wives and Best of Women 🎶) but there’s just something about Bob that’s so relatable to me. He’s always tired but always tries his best. Not to mention that his passion for cooking and feeding people is just so sweet 🥹 He loves making food for people and having food bring people together!! It’s so lovely.
Bob is also super Introverted which I relate to very hard. He has a hard time making connections with other people, and has a tight-knit circle (AKA his family) that he prefers spending his time with. And he sometimes has difficulty talking to people without coming across as weird, which I also relate to. Plus, his little quirks are so endearing, like talking to inanimate objects and pretending they’re alive. And getting so hilariously excited about Thanksgiving 🤣
And Bob and Gene together brings one of the most underrated and sweetest relationships in the Belcher family. Their Father/Son relationship is always so adorable to see. The Laser-Inth will forever be my favorite Bob and Gene episode, and probably solidified these two as my favorites.
As for my least favorite, at first I was going to say that’s difficult, because I love almost every character in the show for one reason or another. But then I realized what the obvious choices are: Gloria and Al. They are the absolute worst. Linda deserves good, doting parents, and these two are the complete opposite of that in every way. Sure, maybe they were slightly better when Linda and Gayle were younger, but definitely not now. The Terminilator II: Terminals of Endearment really solidified just how awful they truly are.
Linda dropped everything to help them at the airport, even forcing Bob to close the restaurant for the rest of the day. Then the entire family went on a wild goose chase trying to track down both Gloria and Al, who somehow kept escaping from their line of sight. Only to find out that these two could’ve bought Al’s cream at the airport themselves the whole time. Not to mention the fact that they found out that Gloria just stole Bob’s charger and refuses to admit it. They keep making excuses for their horrible parenting and Linda just has to deal with it, which is wildly unfair.
Plus, Gloria once told Linda that they aren’t the type of people who build things?? Who says that to their daughter?? These two frustrate me to no end. Definitely the worst characters in the show, no contest.
Tina gets an honorable mention simply because of how relatable she is and how sweet she is. She just has such a kind heart like Gene (except when it comes to Tammy ☠️). But that’s okay, because Jimmy Jr. loves it when she’s mean 😌
As a treat for asking me this, here’s an image I found of the Burger Babies in Disney dresses!! Credit goes to whoever on Pinterest made this lovely image:
Tumblr media
Also, because I need to be a gremlin every time I mention Gene, I’m going to promote Geneuary again, which begins on January 8!! Hype hype hype hype hype—

The urge to make Steve’s parents good feels like people rebelling from angst sometimes. Like “why can’t he have a normal childhood” type of question. “Not every teenager whining about their dad is actually being abused”, also might be some people trying to protect the status-quo of parenthood.
Except that Steve having negligent parents is so, so normal. Stranger things has various types of parents, from the ideal Sinclairs and maybe overbearing Claudia to very, very grey Karen Wheeler, and of course horrible Hargrove senior and Max’s mom who is an alcoholic. And the same fic writers sometimes try to make Susan Hargrove not an alcoholic, too. Just a single mom.
But the thing is that both Susan being like that and Steve’s parents being like that is actually… well, not to sound cruel, but it’s pretty regular. So is Eddie’s story.
And the three of them (Steve, Max and Eddie) are different from the other kids. And it’s visible. And they sort of have a canon understanding with Max very quickly warming up to Steve and caring for Eddie enough to sound the alarm and believe that he is not a murderer. With Steve and Eddie actually becoming friends super quickly. It’s Eddie immediately calling Max “Red”, it’s Steve saying “why is the only one who’s helping me is this random girl”, it’s canon that they all immediately click, and not with this brotherly love, like with Dustin, no, there is this immediate understanding. And I just don’t get why do some authors want to erase that. Max, the character who suffers from parental abuse and abuse from her family very consistently through the series, trusts Steve and Eddie immediately for a reason. Them immediately acknowledging her and addressing her in a careful and not overbearing way that is probably very flattering for Max (“the only one who helps me”, “Red”, etc) is there for a reason.
I have shitty relationship with my parents, probably similar to Steve’s. I have been dismissed that I’m just a whiny, disrespectful teen, so it hurts me obviously, to see people try and erase Steve’s canon relationship at least with his father. So maybe I’m being unfair.
But like. It’s there for a reason! Otherwise they wouldn’t have had Max, Steve and Eddie gravitate to each other so obviously! They get each other and btw Dustin is not there with them. Dustin is friends with them, loves all thee of them, but he is not always there. Neither is Robin or Nancy.
Max and Will immediately liking each other is there for a reason, too, btw. So is Max being endlessly patient with El. Like. Like it’s canon, it’s just not said implicitly. But I swear to god, no one speaks about parental abuse and neglect openly at Steve’s age if they can hide it, and it’s the 80s, and he is a rich boy in a small town, where everyone knows his father. He’ll get in trouble! Max and Eddie can’t hide it. And they both try, but it’s impossible, their parents just don’t have the same social status that Harringtons enjoy! But Steve can hide it and he can’t speak about it because a) no one is going to believe him, b) he will protect his parents reputation because that’s important to them, c) he does speak about them like that! “Big house, no parents”, come on! To say that it’s debatable unless Steve will be abused on camera is idiotic! Steve’s dad will never abuse him in front of others, and Steve will always try to hide the abuse.
i do think some people giving steve good parents just… want their favourite character to have a happy childhood lmao. but a lot of them just seem to have this hatred over the idea that steve doesn’t have good parents. and i don’t get that. like, more than one character can have bad parents. they come in all shapes and colours!!
i do also see it coming from the fact that people aren’t always great at writing morally grey characters. some people don’t think steve’s parents horrifically beat him, so obviously they’re great parents! and it’s like, they can be neither.
parents, especially in the 80s, aren’t always great. it’s typical that they’ll fuck up in some way! that doesn’t mean they hate their children! like, i’m sure steve’s parents do love him in their own way, they’re just not good at parenting. honestly, even if steve never mentioned his parents, i would think they had some kind of issues, because just look at that boy lmao.
and that’s actually really interesting! i’ve never thought about max, eddie, and steve in that way, but i do see it. all of them have some kind of emotional detachment from their parents, and i could see them totally clicking because of it.
also, el and max are so special to me, and i wish we saw more will and max.
yeah, i really don’t see how you can look at canon and say, we never get concrete proof his dad’s a dick, so obviously steve is just a liar! like, what a jump.
this fandom is just not great at picking up information if it isn’t explicitly given to them. i mean, people forget jonathan is abused and we saw that on screen, though clearly it wasn’t brutal enough for the audience to pick up on lmao. clearly every bad parent needs a scene like neil and billy’s to be able to get that they’re not good parents.

tell me some of your dangerverse hcs!
alrighty ! i’m gonna section them off so that it’s easier to read .
henry danger ( kinda leaks into df sorry lol ) :
- ray is a trans man . captain man says trans rights fr .
- schwoz is trans too . he’s weird enough i don’t think i need to put him through more shit through future hcs ( affectionate ) .
- henry does NOT become a complete asshole in dystopia . i’ve seen one too many fics showing he does and he did not spend his entire childhood being somewhat of a moral compass to do a complete 180 . he is a dork who says he’s in a band but immediately backtracks because he knows lying is pointless and giggles when complimented , all in canon .
- charlotte , robot enhancements and all her glorious self , doesn’t become president , but becomes a prosecutor of the law instead . after her gap year in dystopia , she realized how corrupt the system is everywhere , not only in swellview . she is now studying criminal justice in harvard :}
- jasper has a major glow up . not a hc just a fact . he also learned to fight outside of sleeping so he could react faster without having to wait to be konked out by the gum .
- kris and jake hart do their own thing now , but are still married . they came to the conclusion that even though their kids are out of the house they would still eventually need a support system . by they i mean kris . they both also still love each other , but aren’t in love yk ?
- after graduating from uni and having felt success from her social media fame , piper moved back to swellview to help track down villains , and mika appreciates the extra help , because it turns out piper is actually really good at doxxing people . i will not elaborate . oh and also she scares ray so she got him to actually pay the df kids lmao .
danger force :
- mika is a bi trans girl . deal with it .
- chapa is nonbinary and still uses she / her . she’s also aromatic but is open to queer platonic relationships !
- miles is unlabeled . we love that for him , truly a king .
- bose is bi because have you seen him ??
- chapa always carries a taser to she can get away with zapping people outside of fighting crime without raising suspicion .
- when miles first started randomly teleporting everywhere , he was overwhelmed by the constant change in everything that he had to teach himself how to calm down , and now he’s excellent at teaching and helping others calm down .
- after joining df , they would all train together , and one day while training , ray threw a ball at bose and he started lightly crying . he caught it , he just was happy crying because he never got to play the whole father - son catch cliché game .
- mika used to go out into the desert to practice her super screaming , but after a while she started fainting during the day , so now she trains in one of the many rooms in the man’s nest that has been renovated by schwoz to be soundproof .
- as much as ray misses his original kids , in one of his rarest mature moments , he realizes that he shouldn’t compare them . he also decides to be more careful with them than he was with henry , causing that whole “ no powers = no crime fighting “ situation in canon . he can’t risk losing more of his kids , especially so young .
- I LIED MORE SCHWOZ . when the df kids lost their powers , schwoz didn’t sleep until he came up with an antidote he thought would work based on the gas clown’s gas . when it didn’t work he was devastated , but he wouldn’t show the full extent of it . he knew it would effect the kids and he knew he could try again . the following days he spent in his lab , running on illegal caffeine , and eventually passed out from exhaustion . mika found him and put a blanket over him that miles made , having wanted to apologize for how unfair they were being towards him , because after all , he’s only human .

I think the point that a lot of people miss with Arya is that the approval she craves the most is of her mother. People call her pretty, including her father and Jon. But she still doesn't think she is pretty because she doesn't measure up to her mother's expectations. We know it hurts her that unlike her siblings, she doesn't look like Catelyn. Which is funny to me because Catelyn despaired that none of her children looked like Ned, except Arya. So no Catelyn did not hate that Arya didn't have Tully looks (believe me I have seen that take numerous times), rather she wanted her to take care of herself and be presentable.
Yeah like, I would say it’s even a pretty common dynamic in real life, where you have a daughter that doesn’t quite fit in and a mother who does and they talk past each other a lot of the times. It’s not to say that I don’t wish Catelyn had taken a more gentle approach to Arya, or that it’s like, an okay thing that the system they live in forces the toxicity of this situation but I think people really gloss over the fundamental aspect of this (and like,,, most) mother-daughter relationships which is that Arya wants her mother to be proud of her and Catelyn wants Arya to be prepared for adulthood. Neither of them is acting out of a bad place here and neither is motivated by anything hostile. Catelyn just feels, pragmatically, that there are certain things Arya needs to know and understand about the world and the life she’ll be expected to live. While Arya wishes her mother could conceive of a world where Arya can just be whomever she wants without being forced into a specific mold or role.
I kinda scrapped this part of that Cat & Arya meta I wrote, but I had like a whole section wherein like, Catelyn knows that The Rules Of Men allowed her a lot of power - she was presumptive heir, acting lady, and now a lady of a great seat with a husband who adores her in part because of her willfulness and fiery temper. What Catelyn wants for Arya is for Arya to have the tools she needs to succeed as a willful, fiery girl in a World Of Men, so that Arya can find a man who loves her for who she is and find freedom in her home & marriage. But because while Arya and Catelyn may share temperaments, they don’t have a lot of overlap in skills, I think Arya sees more clearly and much sooner than it’s simply ridiculous and unfair that Arya has to have this really specific skill set to be worth anything, and that what she’s “worth” to a man shouldn’t be as important as what she’s worth to herself. But like, how do you even verbalize a concept you’re only slightly aware if you’re Arya? How do you tell your mother that the skills she’s honed for her whole life in the hopes that her life as a woman in a feudal system is happy, are like, ~useless~ and have no moral value, it’s just something Cat is good at vs something Arya is good at?? I mean the whole reason i CUT that section was because i felt like i wasn’t hitting the balance of explaining and validating both WHAT IT IS Catelyn wants for Arya out of the system and also WHY IT IS that Arya chafes so badly.
Ultimately, Arya wants to want what her mother wants for her because that’s her mom, she wants to be like her mom, she wants her mom to be proud of her, and also ultimately, Catelyn wants Arya to be safe, and alive, and thinks to herself that Arya would be good at running a household, and since running a household gave Catelyn power, it’s a sweet wish that Catelyn wants to set Arya up to be someone who is great with the only power Catelyn feels she can give her. But they see the world so differently, because they are both stubborn and willful while being Incredibly different & living very different childhoods, and before Catelyn can hold Arya and assure her that she would have wanted her back no matter what, even if her hair is messy and she’s dressing like a boy, even if she never fits in and has killed people, because Catelyn loves her enough to fight against that system that has benefit Cat all those years……but it’s too late, and Catelyn is gone before she can ever say the words I know she wanted to say, the words that Arya needed to hear.

IC was far less toxic than nesta was to them. Those of you who feel their treatment of her was oh so unfair? are people IRL that don’t believe in consequences for your foul behavior or actions
Alright I finally get anon asks so I should have expected something like this.
First off, they were all toxic to each other. If we start counting the times one was toxic to another we could write a whole separate book, not to mention what happens off page. A healthy relationship does not count grievances against the other. You forgive and let live, especially when you live with them forever.
Rhys went into his relationship with Nesta (and Elain) with prejudices, which never goes well. Nesta and Rhys are both INCREDIBLY similar in personalities, and they hate the things about the other that makes them the same. Until they clear the air and see and respect each other as equals they will never be able to move forward. SJM did say in an interview that we were going to see the consequences between them for what Nesta did at the end of ACOSF.
In ACOWAR, Mor did try to reach out but the moment Nesta started showing signs of her trauma Mor went 180 and stopped reaching out her hand. Don’t get me started on the cassian and mor drama there and how cassian let’s mor get in the way of him showing Nesta intimacy in front of his family.
Cassian is kinda on my shit list with how he treats Nesta the majority of ACOSF.
Feyre tried to reach out, but she and Nesta were always like oil and water with each other. Two dominant personalities fighting for control.
Amren is a 15,000 year old cranky old bat (I say that semi-lovingly). She does not have many long term relationships besides the IC, and really that is less than 1/30th of her life so far. She gave Nesta a chance to be her friend, but ultimately stopped fighting for her for reasons we may never really know.
Azriel, my love, is the only one who consistently treated Nesta with kindness and like she was an equal and that is why they have a good relationship with each other. Azriel doesn’t judge and ultimately has a connection to Nesta the way cassian and feyre have a connection with each other. Az and Nesta both feel like they don’t fit into the “in crowd” (aka the IC) due to the darkness within them. They also suffered generational family trauma.
Nesta’s trauma from the cauldron never stopped. Yes, she pushed it down to fight in the war, but she was never ready. She used the war as a goal to get to, to put her mind to something and be helpful. She is fiercely loyal to those she feels deserves her loyalty and has shown that they have earned it. By the end of the war she felt like she didn’t deserve what was being handed to her just because she was Feyre’s sister. She failed to keep the wall up to protect the humans and failed to save her father. Two impossible tasks that were placed on her shoulders. She had been taking magic lessons with amren for a couple of weeks before the war started. There is no way she would have been able to master her unknown power during that time, not to mention people just assumed she would be able to do it. She couldn’t save anyone, but at least she saved cassian. In that moment, he became the next impossible thing that she would not deserve. We are left in ACOWAR with Nesta being tentative in where she is in life. As of then, everything was being provided for her because she was Feyre’s sister. And that had been what happened to her for years. They stayed alive because of her in the cottage, they were brought back their wealth status because of her relationship to tamlin, and they were brought comfort and a life in velaris because of her and her relationship with rhys. Nesta didn’t feel like she earned any of it. Skip 6 months later to ACOFAS and Nesta is showing signs of depression, PTSD, and substance abuse. After the war, she spiraled. And she lashed out. And it was bad.
Not only was she repressing her trauma, she was repressing her magic. Don’t forget that rhys said that repressing your magic can make you go literally insane. She was on her whits end when ACOSF finally came around. She was drinking not just socially but to blatantly forget. She couldn’t take baths in bath tubs or listen to a fire crackle because it triggered her trauma. She was sleeping with random dudes left and right to numb her pain. She was out spending Rhys’s money on her bad coping habits.
I could keep going, but I’m not going to. Simply put, they all contributed to the toxic relationship between each other. The end of ACOSF does not mean it’s the end of Nesta’s journey, if anything it’s just the beginning. She and the IC have a lot of interpersonal patching up to do.
Did rhys and feyre do the right thing by stripping away Nesta’s rights and commandeering her up at the HoW? Probably not. They both have a streak of having good intentions but poor execution. Nesta needed a push to get her out of her head. The IC pushed for her to train because they all were able to push through their trauma’s by training. Feyre also explains why she needed to be in the library as well. Nesta loves books and reading, and by working in the library she will be surrounded by priestesses who also went through trauma and hoped it would bring her joy. At the end of the day, Nesta was a problem for their court and they handled it the way they thought best. Was it the right solution? Maybe not. But they are leaders and have to make hard decisions sometimes, and sometimes they aren’t always the best.
Nesta would not have done well with the coddling and the nice route the way feyre did. It just isn’t part of her personality. It wasn’t until she met gwyn and emerie and started developing the valkyrie did she start digging herself out of her hole. Unfortunately for Nesta, she had to be put into this shitty situation to find them.
Ultimately, if I’m ever mad at the situation, I’m usually mad at SJM for dealing with Nesta’s trauma the way that she did. Ultimately, we have seen the IC through the rose colored lenses that feyre sees them through. Through Nesta’s eyes we see them with the blinders off. Their personalities are the same but now don’t fit into the narrative for nesta. Just like feyre found her own family and made a new path for herself, so does nesta. Everyone wants to wash away her healing journey because they It wasn’t until she met gwyn and emerie and started developing the valkyrie did she start digging herself out of her own hole.
I love the IC, I love Nesta, I love the valkyries. I believe one day they can live their lives peacefully and bridge the gaps between them. Nesta now has a role that she has paved for herself and sees her worth in her own eyes now. And that might be the biggest takeaway from ACOSF. These characters are morally grey for a reason. They are layered and deep and if they can give each other grace, so can we.

i really dislike the infantilizing of the roy siblings that happens in fandom.
are they all victims of abuse? absolutely. products of their shitty environment? sure. but are they also full grown adults who are (seemingly) well aware of their own faults and yet completely unwilling to change??? YES.
shiv is the one that gets me the most. at least roman has readily admitted he’s a shitty person (again, not sure why his recent behavior has shocked so many people. he’s been saying it for years and doing things of this nature since the show’s beginning stages. it just wasn’t as bold.) and kendall is the same. though i would argue that he may be the only person in the show with a SEMBLANCE of a BARELY FUNCTIONAL sliver of a soul left.
but shiv fucking roy. that woman is the calling card for all performative white feminism. she believes she is smarter than everyone around her, and when that’s inevitability proven incorrect and her own hubris lands her in a position of being usurped, she cries and claims unfairness. misogyny. whatever. the idea that she could have her cake and fucking eat it too literally led to the election of a racist/facist/alt-right douchebag. because no matter how much she claimed to care about ‘democracy’ and ‘doing the right thing’, when it came time for her to place her personal desires on the back burner for the greater good, she wouldn’t do it. she is REMARKABLY selfish in every aspect of her life and then wonders why the people around her don’t trust her. why her husband (who is not an innocent or good person either) whom she emotionally abused and manipulated over the course of their entire relationship doesn’t believe that she’s pregnant. she throws it in his face as a fucking arguing point when she realizes that a piss poor apology isn’t going to magically fix their very broken relationship. she would be a horrible mother. i don’t care if that’s mean because “she was so hurt by what her mother said to her”. doesn’t matter. it’s a fact.
and it’s ‘mother’ this and ‘poor shiv :(‘ that. in my eyes she has become just as corrupted and evil as her brothers. her father. etc.

Hate vs. Love: RWBY Edition
You know with all the recent RWBY love and hate; I thought I talk about the irony of everything.
I’m writer, was born a writer, even if people don’t understand, a writer can never turn that part of themselves off.
What I’m getting at is I want to talk about my experience with RWBY and how it changed my perspective on something that I judged for years.
To be honest, I’m a closet RWBY fan, no one knows that I like the show.
People see me and think that I just watch all the stuff considered “Weeb Shit”, and to tell you the truth, I don’t.
I watched so many things in my entire life to get a grasp on writing in all angles that they all sort of blurred together.
But let me tell you as a young eight-year-old, who could write, speak full proper sentences, and for some one that had no friends, RWBY was love.
I saw the show and thought to myself this was as good as it gets.
How I found the show for the first time was through a video about someone hating on RWBY coming it the worst thing in the world, and since I was a writer at eight years old, I thought that I would be the judge of that.
And so through YouTube I watched every episode for Volume 1 and fell in love.
My first favorite character had been Blake, she stood out like a sore thumb, and I just loved that she had grown so much.
Tumblr media
(News Flash: VOLUME 9 BLAKE WAS PERFECT IN EVERY WAY AND HAD ALL THE RIGHT FLAWS!!!!)
But what made me a closet RWBY fan was the fact that everything I knew who had seen or heard of RWBY hated it, since I came from a poor family, I couldn’t ever get any of the merch or go to anything Roosterteeth related.
So like everything I liked, I shoved it into a closet and wished that I met people who liked the show, when I got a Tumblr account and saw that everyone had great and fair or unfair opinions on RWBY, I feel okay posting this.
But to tell you the truth, it just makes me sad that as a writer I still see things differently, and as the other volumes came out over time, and as I grew to write all kinds of things, I also grew out of Blake.
I still love her to bits, but she was no longer my favorite by Volume 4 Oscar Pine had stolen my heart, and I secretly joined his protection squad, and that was before I found that he had Ozpin.
And the biggest mistake of my life happened. Now I had a certain boyish face and have never regretted most of my life descions.
But what I’m talking about is that I love to cosplay, whenever I got to a expo or con I always dress up, but one time I decided to come out of the closet, I came out as a RWBY fan during the wrong time, now I had the right face and body type that I dressed up as Adam Taurus, and even better my father who was great with makeup had even given me the brand mark, in the correct area and the right shade.
But during that time there were other RWBY cosplayers and all I got was hate, and the problem was I didn’t hate or love Adam, I just chose the cheapest character to cosplay since I couldn’t even begin to be Oscar.
I still have the costume, but the problem was I was white, straight, and dressed as Adam, which when you put all three of those things together you get tons of hate.
And I spent entire convention, feeling at my lowest because everyone gave me the stink eye, not one person could even think to speak to me.
So, when I got back home after the three days at the convention, I cried to myself, and thought what was wrong with just thinking about how cool I would look.
I even wanted to get some photos, but RWBY/Adam hate was too strong, and I was left in the dust.
Feeling lonely I started to write, and at the end of the day I was myself again, but the experience stuck with me, and I never cosplayed as any RWBY character again.
Another thing to note is that being Straight and liking RWBY was another problem, when most people talk about RWBY it always ropes back to harems, poly relationships or how gay some characters are.
Now I’ve had any problems before, until I found a girl who liked RWBY back in one of my classes and when I told her I liked the show, and thought that Weiss didn’t a man or woman to back her up if she found the right confidence I was hit in the face, and when the same girl asked later if I liked gay ships or straight ships, I automatically answered straight because that was just how I was and what I liked.
But understand the BB kiss scene in Volume 9 drove me to tears in happiness, because I saw how both Blake and Yang grew as people, and I loved every moment.
Tumblr media
(News Flash: THIS SPARKS PURE EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!!!)
Another point was when we reached Volume 7 and Cinder joined the list of characters that I liked.
Side Note: Remember a writer can’t turn off their brain, no matter how hard you think that you’ve tried.
Cinder becoming my favorite happened when I saw her eyepatch, and almost every character I have ever liked had either glasses or an eyepatch (Unless your Hange Zoe and you get both, but then again They are another one of my favorite characters of all time.)
Walking through Volume 7 felt like a fever dream, I was older now, and I was seeing something different in Cinder, and later in Volume 8 when they revealed her backstory, I came to understand the writer’s use for the word Fall in her last name.
What people forget is that people can fall, it isn’t that hard, and since Cinder had suffered so much and had tried to grow through suffering she was bound to keep falling, it's the Faller Mentality.
Seeing that brought pure tears to my eyes, I was a fallen person considering that I was straight and white, lonely in fact that no one wanted to be near me, and that I had the worst anger to boot.
Even now I still love Cinder as a character, and what hurts me is that I can’t say that without people thinking that I’m a bad person, so I shove it in the closet and cry.
Tumblr media
But then something happened, and it was all thanks to my writing and my family that I got back on my feet again.
I still am straight, white, poor, lonely, but I’m still a person deserving of love, and even if I don’t get that from my peers, I still get it from my family, or I get self-love since I’m a closet fan for anything that I like.
And watching Volume 9 to see that I was similar to Blake, Oscar, Cinder, and even Adam.
So, for my final entry on this strange ramble post, I will give my thanks.
Thank you, Blake, for helping me learn myself.
Thank you, Oscar, for helping me know that anyone can fight back against fate.
Thank you, Cinder, for being lonely and crying with me.
Thank you, Adam, for existing so I could cosplay you.
Thank you, Weiss, for teaching me self-worth.
Thank you CRWBY for making a wonderful show.
Thank you Roosterteeth for funding it and expanding on it.
And finally Thank you to all that made it to the end of this post.
(Also thank you to all other characters, or else this post would a lot longer than it needs to be)
Here’s the hug that I’ve been waiting to use.
Tumblr media
So go forth and chase after your dreams and become the best you you want to be. I’ll be rooting for you from the shadows, for I am the long-suffering death.

I think fans didn't realise that Sansa had no choice to enter in relationship with her suitors on her own irrespective of her likeness towards them. Her bethrotal with Joffery happened because of Robert and Ned. Tyrells wanted her to marry Willas but it was more like escape from KL. She forced consent to her marriage with Tyrion. Her bethrotal with Robin and Harry by Lysa and Petyr is some kind of bargain for home and safety. I really want Sansa to chose Jon because it is her choice out of love.
That's what I want too, anon!
I agree that it's important to accept the premise of the world when reading the story, and there is nothing to indicate that Sansa had a choice when her father betrothed her to Joffrey. As a show fan first, I understand how easy it is to muddle the two canons, but in the books it is strictly in her father’s hands and he makes that decision without her even knowing it’s on the table. In the show, she does want to marry Joffrey, but even that isn’t odd to me. She knows she will be married off for the good of her family/to whom her father chooses, why shouldn’t she want to marry the guy she has a crush on, who is handsome and gallant? Who will be king? There isn’t a better option for her personally or to benefit her family. I just don’t think judging her is reasonable if you buy into the way their world works.
It seems that the objective is to prove that Sansa is somehow to blame for her situation, so fans fixate on the fact that she thought she loved Joffrey, but Dany believes she loves Drogo who was a rapist, warlord, slaver, Jon believes he loves Ygritte who coerced him into sex, threatened him, and murdered an innocent man. So, I find the fandom’s judgment of Sansa for believing she’s in love with Joffrey unfair. They aren’t judging all the characters by the same standard, and since I know they feel a lot of sympathy for the other two, it’s odd that they withhold it from Sansa.
I’m not sure why people are so eager to believe Sansa has more power in her situation than she does. Even when Tyrion gives her a choice to marry someone else, the option is Tyrion or a different Lannister, and Sansa knows Tyrion somewhat so marrying him is a safer option in her mind, but it isn't a free choice. To her, it’s the better of two bad options because he is still a Lannister. She has positive feelings about marrying Willas, I would even say she romanticized him more than Joffrey perhaps, or at least, she creates more of an imaginary future with him? Due to her age it’s a little more realized than her initial thoughts about Joffrey? But that’s because a) the Tyrells have been kind to her when no one else has b) the way he is described to her is pretty dreamy c) he would be freedom, just as you said. And I guess I shouldn’t be surprised people want to hold her responsible for Lysa wanting to marry her to Robin, or LF ordering her to...basically seduce Harry, but she is uncomfortable and clearly doesn’t want to be in those situations.
So yes, I do think it will be important that Jon is someone she chooses out of love, just as it is important that he chooses her for love. It might be that this also works to solve the succession issue in the North, or perhaps in spite of how inconvenient it is that they love each other, they choose each other anyway. I like the secret marriage idea a lot for that reason. Whatever the path is for them, I hope it’s for love.

Me endlessly rambling about the morality of Adriens plot involvement in “Evolution”, bc DAMN!
In "Evolution" there is one aspect I haven't seen anyone talk about yet which bothers me in how tragic and unspeakably unfair it is: Gabriel is not the only person who missed his chance of being able to safe his family that day, so did ADRIEN.
And that's the core stinger of this show not letting Adrien/Chat Noir actually BE the villains son (yet?). It's one thing that Gabriel, the villain, has fallen so far that he is now unable to make the right decision on his own, but the same wouldn't apply to Adrien. And I also wanna talk about how horrible it is that Adriens father basically turned into a collapsing mess further descending into madness right in front of his sons eyes for the entire episode but Adrien isnt given the chance to maybe make the choice to TRY to reach out and help him.
Disclaimer: My post is NOT about me thinking that Gabriel is owed to have his son at his side to help and save him. No, my concerns and feelings regarding the morality of Adriens involvement are 100% about ADRIEN. Gabriel I only care for in this regard of him “being denied his sons help” in the sense that he is Adriens father. Thats it. My priority, as per usual, is Adrien and what all of this means for him.
Because my goodness if s5 continues like this I seriously have to wonder how Adrien is supposed to be able to life with himself after all of this.
Tumblr media
Look, I’m going to take the matter seriously if thats not something for you than this wont be the post for you. I am allowed to talk about the portayed morality of a parent-child relationship in an international very popular family cartoon. I’m pretty certain this is all deliberate set up since the writing made way too many specific decisions regarding these two and the big picture in this episode (and in that case I’m gonna LOVE this) but I still wanna talk about it in the way that reflects the fact that we dont have the rest of the season yet. And in this regard this episode got morally questionable at times.
If this IS something you care about too though, dont let me stop you any further and “read more”
My "problem" ( not really problem since with the right continuation I will love ALL of this, so its a “inbetween-problem” right now. You get it) is not that the writing says that Gabriel doesn't have enough true goodness in him to actually safe his family, or that the Agreste family in the end is beyond saving and not worth it and Adrien will end up happy with the Dupain-Chengs. All of that is not my problem. It's that Adrien is denied every opportunity like this in his plot involvement to be allowed to make the choice of saving his family himself. To at least TRY to have the saving grace influence on his family's fate that Adrien embodies.
Tumblr media
"Evolution" is actually the first episode where this problem actively crosses the line for me (which I strongly believe was the intention), cause up til the end of season 4 Gabriel/Hawkmoth (or whatever) wasn't straight up a hurting mess on the battle field who, yes, would desperately need his son on the heros side as a familiar and sympathetic influence when no other hero can or maybe even should, who can reach some of his last remaining humanity and possibly make the small but immense difference in how Gabriels and the Agrestes story ends.
Do not get me wrong, I don't care for Gabriel just for his own sake, I primarily care about his fate because he's Adriens father. I am NOT saying Gabriel deserves a happy ending just because he has a sympathetic reason to have started his villainous doom (I know alot of people will disagree here but respect that I absolutely LOVE these kind of morally complex family stories, about the humanity in inhumanity and abuse, even if it doesn't end in a happy ending. Fuck it, ESPECIALLY if it doesn't end in a happy ending!) but I AM saying that this episode did a phenomenal job at characterizing and portraying Monarque through almost all the very core reason of his fall and the horrible consequences he has brought down on himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I 👏Love 👏All 👏Of👏THIS👏
And I don't NEED this (or WANT it) to have an happy ending. But what punched me in the face the entire episode through were moments like this:
Tumblr media
Or this:
Tumblr media
Or this:
Tumblr media
Because in the end of the day you can turn and twist it all you want. Condemn Gabriel, understand Ladybug and the other heros, Paris and the general morality of good and bad all you want; in the end it doesn't change the fact that this is Adriens father and Adriens fate and losses too. And that fact alone deserves proper respect.
Cause again, NOT for Gabriels sake but for ADRIENS.
Tumblr media
Adriens father is laying motionless on the ground because Gabriel has fallen so far in his grief, madness and almost completely isolation that he is wrecking himself and frying his own brain with too many miraculous at the same time. And Adrien is narratively denied the opportunity to react like the SON he is in this.
Tumblr media
Adriens villain father just gave up and therefore lost the opportunity to make everything right again, safe their family on his own accords but then immediately showed immense regret for the decision he made. And Adrien is narratively denied the opportunity to make the choice to reach out to his fathers very open humanity here and perhaps get to solve the problem in his stead.
Tumblr media
Chat Noir was literally entrusted by Ladybug in this episode to wield the Rabbit miraculous. Chat Noir and the Monarque were in the same position. Adrien had just as much the power and the opportunity to go back in time and deliver the stick to his parents in the past (even if Gabriel had told him a different reason for why, fixing the peacock wouldn't have stopped Adrien from existing) as his father did.
But whereas Gabriel lost that chance because of his own actions and decisions, Adrien has lost that chance and even the choice to MAYBE save his own mother, his father, HIMSELF, his family, every victim and all of Paris because he is being kept out of the loop.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adrien lost just as much as Gabriel in this episode if not even MORE, he just doesn't know it and that is the biggest tragedy of this entire show.
Because the thing is, Adrien loves his family. Adrien loves his father. Even if Gabriel has never and will never deserve his sons love or Adrien himself at his side. It doesn't matter, because this is about ADRIEN.
And ADRIEN has done everything he could in the last 4 seasons to reach his father, see the good in him, and forgive and support him. Reach out, see his fathers perspective and be as good of a son as possible to not make the situation even harder for his father as loosing Emilie already was for them. To grow closer as father and son, become a family again and get the chance of a better future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adrien LOVES his father and never wanted to loose him. And Adrien has made countless sacrifices too many to give their family a chance to heal through patience and understanding. Adrien is a PHENOMENAL son and the true saving grace of his family. But he never had the needed knowledge to understand the actual PROBLEM that kept Gabriel from moving on and getting better. To possibly help his fathers good side reach the light again.
No, as the kid this is absolutely not Adriens job, but in a family who goes through such extreme circumstances that shit legitimately gets ugly in too many ways as it happens in real life too, this moral ideal of leaving the child out of it becomes a luxury that sometimes just isn't realistic or affordable even for the kids own sake and can also be morally put into question depending on the context.
And in this context I'm absolutely putting it in question:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is a difference between what happened here in the episode without Adrien knowing it and Adrien actively making the decision to NOT use the Rabbit power to right his fathers wrong and give their family another chance.
There is a difference between Adrien actively making the choice to distance himself from his villain father even as Chat Noir and leaving him to his self-made demise because that's what Adrien choose to do and sees as morally right in his unique position of having one foot on each side of the war, and Adrien not even getting that choice in the first place.
There is a difference between Adrien choosing to stay on Ladybugs side and stand so actively against his father as her partner when shit goes down so fatally for Monarque like this, and Adrien not knowing what siding with her means in the bigger picture.
There is a difference between Adrien making the choice to not save his mother before giving up the Rabbit miraculous, because unlike Gabriel Adrien actually managed to move on from that loss and does what Gabriel can't, and Adrien not even knowing that he had the power to resolve all of this and save his mother, his father, the miraculous and Paris in a way that wouldn't have hurt anyone (to our knowledge right now)
The difference is that in one case Adrien gets to actively make the choice that is right for HIMSELF, so he can properly adjust his role so he can actually LIFE with himself in the end, whereas in the second case he makes the choices while thinking himself to not be connected to Monarque at all and therefore acts only to the benefit of the general greater good and Ladybug.
And it's the SECOND case that rings true in Canon. Adriens actual position in this still remains completely neglected and he is going to stay without any kind of necessary closure and own moral adjustments to his role and actions in his family's demise. And this leaves Adrien in the position where he will/would simply life to regret his actions or at least beat himself up for it. And those are regrets and grief that no one can rationalize away for him, this kind of guilt stays for a life time. Because how THE FUCK could it not??
Cause for all it is, he is the only person for who the overall truth of the good and evil side of this war is not enough to justify or excuse his actions and behavior. Not in his own eyes. Because Gabriel wasn't just Hawkmoth, ShadowMoth, Monarque or whoever. He wasn't just the evil bad guy, he was his father too. And while Gabriel probably has always been difficult, he sure as hell wasn't THIS (Monarque) for Adriens entire life as we know from Adrien himself:
Tumblr media
So everyone else has the luxury to, in the end, make peace with the situation through breaking the grey area down to basic black-and-white thinking, because they have the necessary distance to Gabriel and his motivations to do so.
But you can't just apply the same way of thinking and moral standpoint to Adrien/Chat Noir, he simply ISN'T in the same position as everyone else.
In my opinion it always was Miraculous biggest loss that Chat Noir/Adrien is not allowed to actually BE the villains son with all the amazing character and plot potential that comes with it. But "Evolution" was the first episode where this unused connection actually made me grimance while watching.
Tumblr media
Adrien deserves the chance to at least TRY to help his father when its already happening right in front of his eyes!
All of this had a chance of being resolved in peace through Adriens best and defining character traits: his compassion, love and loyalty even in the darkness hours. You have to do a FUCK TON to loose him and there are simply too many moments in this episode where I think Adrien would have tried to help his father to do the right thing for me to not talk about this.
And again, I'm not asking for this to actually have happened this way and have a nice sunshine ending. I'm not saying that Gabriel would have absolutely had listened to Adrien and that things would have turned out fine if only Adrien and Gabriel had found out each others identities somewhere in the borrows. No, I'm not giving Gabriel that much credit, neither as a person nor as a father. We have watched the show til now and what happened when Gabriel found out under different circumstances:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No, I'm never bringing this up for GABRIELS sake, in all of this I care with all of my heart for ADRIEN. And what HE goes through in everything going down on both sides, what HE looses and what this means for HIM because he is the one in the almost agenciless and inescapable position. He is the biggest victim in all of Miraculous and season 5 right immediately started off with an event where Adrien is even more wronged regarding his fathers villain backstory comeuppance than Gabriel himself.
Adrien is the actual tragedy in this very episode and entire show and I can only hope that the show will treat his loss with the respect it deserves. "Evolution" actually gave me alot of hope in this regard because of how it treated Gabriel, the Ladynoir moments, Chat as a hero character in general and of course:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alix family moments paralleling the Agrestes with another father-hero child bond whose family is being seperated (also interesting to remember is that back in s1 people suspected Alix' father to be Hawkmoth as a second option to Gabriel)
These things are intentional, but I'm still anxious, because DUDE
Tumblr media
Adrien being left out of the loop in everything is reaching beyond BRUTAL extends. The Ladynoir and father-son sides of his life have now collided in the most painful way with undoable consequences yet (and on both parts he is still kept basically entirely oblivious to the secrets and offenses being done to him). The morality in all of this is beyond questionable at this point, and simply in particular regarding his damn father. This is fucked up.
I really have to ask how Adrien could ever be able to forgive himself for his family's fate, his mother and especially FATHER'S fate, once he looks back on it concidering how actively INVOLVED he was in all of it. Without getting a choice, proper agency or much needed closure while going through this. Adrien isn't doing nothing here, "Evolution" in particular, the episode of Gabriels villain backstory commupance.
You know what? Screw it, this is theoretically speaking just as much of a damnation backstory set up as the one Gabriel has, just so much worse. His fucking father would be the core reason of why Adrien could never forgive himself for what happened to his family while he himself (unknowingly) took huge active actions in making his father go this far (again, THIS episode for example) when in Adriens eyes his father was in desperate need of help through his grief no matter how inexcusable his actions became. Because Gabriel needed and NEEDS help (and not the one Nathalie gave him, you know the person Adrien gave his father his blessing for to MARRY) and COULD have turned back to the light at some earlier point. And Adrien saw that potential the entire time. And tried to help and reach out over and over again. But he was never able to do it "right".
Tumblr media
He would think himself a failure of a son when he only finds out about this when it's way too late and he has to let his father behind who is too far gone. Or a failure of a hero all together for not having noticed and stopped it earlier and to his family and the citizens, when he was in the position to all along. How is he supposed to just let that go when Adriens noose has always and forever been his loyalty and LOVE?
This shit is so messed up on a morality level for Adriens position because Adriens situation just gets worse and worse and he is hardly given any chances to chose to adjust his behavior/actions in a way to his actual circumstances or get any true closure with full context to be able to properly DEAL with this. Because he doesn't know what his actions are causing/ influencing! It wouldn't even be Gabriels abuse or bad influence that would be the core of his tragedy, it's the fact Adrien was denied to get closure of not being able to properly help his father and family. That everything went so catastrophically far and hurt so many people and loved ones and he could have helped "but didn't".
How is Adrien supposed to life with himself after loosing his father like this while he was Chat Noir? In a way that is actually in-character for him and his core principles? Adrien, who is taking the blame for his loved ones in too dangerous degrees just so they have to suffer less? If Adrien knew he would react differently, in ways he wouldn't life to regret or at least hold against himself for how it went down. Fuck, let's go with the scenario: If Adriens love would stop him from being able to let this go he would actually become and have the motivation that Gabriel THINKS he is and has!
Have this go wrong and Adrien will step into his fathers footsteps no matter what any third party (including Ladybug) will say that it wasn't his fault. He will just not be evil while doing it, but just as desperate, lost and haunted by the past. Maybe even more so than his father because Adrien is actually a good person.
Seriously, I know Miraculous has pulled some morally questionable stuff by now (hello season 4), but this episode really made me shallow hard in how far Adrien being left out of the loop is being taken and what the consequences of his actions symbolize. Adrien literally left his father back in the past and he didn't even know it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know for most people this is hardly a factor they think is important to concider, but for me it is. The episode put Adrien in too specific of a position, take too consistently brutal actions regarding his fathers backstory comeuppance here, and made him be the one to take the lead and therefore alot would fall back to in Adriens mind if he found out in this one particular episode now.
The writing of the episode made deliberate morally beyond questionable choices regarding Adriens position between Ladybug and his father that just... gut punched me.
Because fucking Christ, Adrien is still being kept in almost complete obliviousness and it made him do things and act in ways I cannot imagine him doing like this if he knew, in way too crucial of a situation regarding his entire civilian familys fate.
And therefore: Fuck, he. Should. KNOW. But he doesn't. And I don't know how Adrien is realistically suppose to life with this. This goes against everything Adriens characters has ever been.
Really, we are entering some seriously messed up moralities now for Adriens position between Ladybug and his father...

Robin’s speech in the asylum somehow possibly about Henry/Edward and their respective relationships w/Victor? Henry would have gotten an audience with his father in seconds because he was the “sensitive” one while Robin is meant to represent Edward’s “fascination” with the mind of a murderer which maybe freaked Victor out a lil bit? Not sure if that’s anything.
I see what you mean, even if I don’t completely agree.
I absolutely see your point about Ruth/Rose being a Henry/Edward type of duo. Ruth, while deeply fascinated with scary things, will tends to bend to the will of authority (even if she very much is actively involved in breaking the rules). Meanwhile Rose flies off the handle and makes a rather impressive frustrated, monologuing speech about about why she and her thesis partner deserve certain privileges and freedoms that they haven’t gone through the proper channels for.
It’s very reminiscent of Henward’s likely earlier escape attempt at the tunnel and whatever event led to them being chipped, as compared to them finally getting to plead their case with someone who can directly give them the freedoms and privileges they’ve been trying to get. We can see the “Ruth” side in the little speech to El at the tunnel about Soteria, and then the “Rose” side in the monologue at El in the rainbow room.
So while I’m not sure it’s entirely/necessarily about Henward as they relate to Victor, I do think it’s about Henward as they relate to people who can give them what they want: freedoms and privileges that were repeatedly denied them based on discriminatory behavior by those in authority (see: Brenner).
Edward seems to be more demanding/insistent/outspoken about what he wants and why he deserves it, pulling on his childhood (see: Rose’s summer camp) and the unfairness of the world to make a compelling case. Meanwhile it seems like Henry is the one to try and play to the sympathy of the other person regarding the circumstances he finds himself in without laying blame on the system outright (see: Ruth’s initial sob story about the thesis deadline). One of these routes is “successful”, and the other is not. Ruth was not going to be successful, but Rose gets what she wants for herself and Ruth. Henry (?) got caught by the guards after Soteria, but Edward at least got himself (if not also Henry) yeeted out of the lab and into a truly unrestrained realm.
However, I also find it particularly interesting that they chose to associate Ruth with the softer/less insistent persona, while Rose was associated with the persona who’s got a deep, morbid curiosity surrounding serial killers…especially when we/they know by this point that Victor was innocent in the killings.
“Ruth” almost reminds me more of Sam Owens and his good-cop, nice-guy (kinda spineless) behavior, while “Rose” reminds me more of Martin Brenner and his choice to orchestrate the kidnapping of Henry and Edward to study them/his complete disregard for limitations and willingness to skirt the system to get what he wants…especially when we consider that we just saw Owens being visited at his home in Ruth, NV, and Brenner was the one most directly involved with the Creels (particularly Virginia, while “Rose” is styled to look like Karen) and the Creels are heavily associated with roses/their rose-glass door.
After all, you can’t just kidnap a couple of normal kids. But concoct a crime that will make them out to be cold blooded killers on one end while wiping out their remaining family on the other? Boom. Protective custody, study those fascinating twisted little minds to your heart’s content, because hell, they could be valuable to the US government…Especially considering “Rose”’s Bradley/Brantley mixup, given there was a Phillip Bradley mentioned as the DA leading Victor’s prosecution in Henry’s timeline.

Hi. I hope this doesn't come across as if I'm making your abuse about me (some rando). But I'm studying to be a CPS worker and already have a lot of hesitation because of how many articles come out of people abusing their position to take advantage of vulnerable minors. It feels more confirmed now that, from my perspective, it seems to be mostly power-obsessed/controlling individuals who enter the role, given the likes of your mother. I don't know what my question is exactly. I'm sorry if this was unfair to put on you, that wasn't my intention. I guess I was mostly hoping if you or any of your followers had any commentary/insight on such a topic?
ur fine dw, im ok talking about it but can only rlly provide personal experience however it has been documented that cps has high rates of abuse and neglect from workers, u can find specific statistics online but in my personal experience a lot of the workforce for cps are older women, my mother would tell me they rarely fired anyone even when they did something egregious (hitting the kids during visting hours / interviewing / in building case work, having sexual relationships with the boys, faking visits / making fake documents of visits, and general abuse) so often they’d get “written” up but nothing would actually be done bc it (atleast in nj) cost more and required more labor to train new hires and get them in than to keep someone that’s been there for twenty years, i was personally brought with my mom often to her visits / her office and many of her coworkers were the same as her some not as bad but a lot of them thought a lot of the abuse happening was normal and played down things, in the black community whooping is seen as pretty normal in parents regardless of severity so there’d be times when i’d come with her to houses and the parents would literally beat the kids / teens in front of her and she’d just go “that’ll teach them respect” “you should’ve listened to your mother” and then rlly mom and the mom abusing the kids would bond over basically doing the same thing coming from the same background, obv a lot of black mothers don’t stay with black fathers for a multitude of reasons, so many of my moms coworkers who were also black women would quickly be on the side of the moms being reported for harming their kids On the basis of “we r all single parents so i get it” this isn’t unique to black ppl obv but the job definitely attracts people that want power over others, a lot of in building work is not supervised and bc a lot of the visits aren’t checked ur case worker essentially doesn’t have to actually do their job to keep their job, i think it’s similar to how many nurses are mean even tho it isn’t reflective of the entire profession many ppl seeking to harm kids or justify harming kids flock to those jobs for a good pay check with little repercussion for wrong doing, u can ask a more specific question if u want as i’ve watched my mom work and been with her at work and visits for most of my life, this is just a general statement
