So Barbara right?: Obviously much like Steph, much of Barbara's story happens independent of the batfam so there's nothing really to change. I'd say the only key difference is that she's moreso Jason's friend than anyone else's (you know cause it'd be fun).
It's finally Dick's time to shine: To celebrate Jason's official adoption, the Wayne's go to the new circus in town. The happy atmosphere of the night is quickly cut short by screams of terror as the flying Grayson couple falls to their deaths. Cass is the first to react, rushing over to the Grayson child and shielding him before he can see (or hear) them hit the ground. The other Wayne children are quick to follow, expertly dealing with the frightened crowd and leading them out of the tent in an orderly fashion. Bruce is the last one to take action, meeting up with Commission Gordon to detail what transpired. When all the dust has settled, the audience has left, the bodies have been taken away, and Dick Grayson is an orphan.
Naturally Bruce defaults on his trusty dusty tactic of simply becoming the boy's guardian but there's a snag this time, the state won't let him. They go on and on about how Dick is an emotional child and he needs a lot of one on one attention and he wouldn't get the proper support he needs in the manor and bla bla bla. Which would all be valid points, if the state didn't just turn around and put the poor kid in a boys home. Bruce is obviously pissed. Beyond pissed in fact. But until the courts rule in his favor, his hands are tied. You know whose hands aren't tied though? Damian's. Damian is a full scale legal adult who lives on his own and has the backing of his father (who just so happens to be one of the richest men on Earth). The state has no choice but to meekly hand the boy over.
Dick is a feral little monster. Constantly angry, constantly lashing out. He far surpasses early days Jason in sheer ferocity alone. But Damian is undeterred. He knows feral. He's seen feral. He WAS feral. This brat will not break him. Damian starts employing the methods his father used to help him deal with his emotions back in his "I just found out I'm the son of assassins and I'm so angsty" phase. Mainly the method of punching your feelings away. He gets Dick a punching bag and also trains him in every martial art/self defense method under the sun. When that proves to still not be enough, he does the next best thing, he takes Dick with him out on patrols. Dick finally starts working through all of his emotions surrounding his parents death, especially when he starts getting leads on who killed them. Eventually, he finally figures out who killed his parents and where they are and he's out for blood. He tries to sneak out but Damian is already waiting for him by the window. Dick prepares to get into a fight, only for his gear to be tossed at him with Damian already climbing out the window. He's stunned for a moment but he's also not about to look a gift horse in the mouth. So the two go to catch Tony Zucco together and the rest is history (Bruce nearly has a heart attack when he finds out Dick is Damian's sidekick. Why does no one in his family want to be normal!?).

Summary: You were a firedancer as a child at the same circus as the Flying Graysons and years later you reunite with your childhood best friend in odd circumstances…
(A/n: The Batfam lineup in this is only Bruce, Alfred, Dick, Barbara, Jason and you. The others are not there yet. + Not based on the Titans show, this version of Dick is just hot.)

You were the child of a fire breather and a acrobat at Haly’s Circus so you were raised to know pretty much both of those skills and became the circus firedancer and the occaisional helper of the Flying Graysons, that would be how you met Dick.
The two of you were inseperable as kids, you always showed each other new skills your parents taught you as part of their acts. Which would lead the circus director to make you helpers to each others performances, because what’s better to make the audience say ”Awww” than two wholesome kids being best friends.
The two of you even planned to make an act together but it never came to be…
After the death of his parents Dick was taken away and the two of you didn’t even get to say goodbye.
After that the director trained you and some others to become the new trapeze artists but none of you could ever match the skills of the Flying Graysons, though you came somewhat close having trained and performed with them before.
Tragedy would strike the circus again during one of your parents performances leading to you becoming orphaned.
So you left the circus at 16 years old to get away from the pain and moved to a small apartment in Gotham using the money your parents left you. You got a job as barista and a side job as a gymnastics teacher for kids.
Though the barista job didn’t last long, one of the parents of the kids you taught wanted to hire you as a model for their clothing magazine which just so happened to pay a lot more than a barista, so you took it.
A year later it would be revealed to you that one of the children’s family you taught had their house broken in to and burguled, their dad had been stabbed and the mother and child had been tied up.
So you loving these children as much as you did started to learn boxing so you could defend them if ever necessary.
After a year of training in boxing you took a page out of Batman’s book and became the vigilate known as ”Flamebird”. Taking name inspiration from you’re training as a firedancer/breather and trapeze artist.
You would end up teaming up with Batman, Robin and Batgirl, though at first Batman was rather suspicious of you but he came to trust you. There was only one member of the batfam who you hadn’t met, which was Nightwing, who had started around the same time as you (or at least so you thought).
You wouldn’t meet Nightwing until Joker had set up three time bombs spread out in Gotham. Batman teamed you up with Nightwing to find one, Batgirl and Robin to find another one and he’d find one himself.
You met up with Nightwing and introduced yourself ”I’m Flamebird, it’s nice to finally meet you”. ”Likewise, Batman has told me a lot of good stuff about you” he said sweetly. ”Really? I’d assume he dosen’t like me” you stated honestly. ”Well, most people assume he hates them so i guess your doing better than them” he explained.
After the quick introduction you two got to work to track down the bomb, you managed to find Joker’s thugs trying to unload it and sneak it in to a hospital. So the two of you started taking the thugs down.
Suprisingly you and Nightwings skills seemed to compliment each other very well as if you’ve been training together for years. When he went right, you went left. When you went over, he went under.
When there was only two goons left Nightwing got to work on disarming the bomb, while you had his back and focused on taking out the henchmen. You finished them off and checked if you could help Nightwing disarm the bomb.
The two of you managed to disarm it and grappled away from the crime scene as the GCPD arrived on the scene. Batman, Robin and Batgirl had also managed to disarm their bombs and Batman had also managed to capture the Joker himself. So you and Nightwing didn’t have to stress to get anywhere else that night.
”How are your flips so effortless and easy? That took me years to perfect” Nightwing commented.
”Oh, i just copy the technique a friend taught me a long time ago, once he perfected his he taught me everything he could so i could perfect mine” you said as your memory drifted back to Dick, Nightwing nodded with an interested face.
”How did you learn to be so efficient with the batons? It’s like your dancing” you commented. ”Honestly same goes for me with the friend thing, he taught me to do it through firedancing” Dick explained.
”Wow, firedancing, that’s really cool” you said as if you weren’t a firedancer yourself. ”Yeah, it’s awesome, me and my friend used to want to put together an act, where we firedanced, while swinging trapeze and we also wanted the trapeze to be on fire” Dick told you which suprised you.
”Really? Me and my friend wanted to do literally that exact same thing” you said suprised. ”Really, God, what a coincidence…” Dick said amazed. The two of you sat in silence for a few seconds until it clicked and you stared eachother deeply in the eyes.
”Dick? Is that you” you asked and Dick eyes widened and he asked ”Y/n?”. You reached up and pulled your mask off and Nightwing did the same and he revealed the face of an older Dick Grayson. ”Dick, it’s you” you said happily and jumped in to his arms.
After hugging for a full minute Dick said ”God, do we have a lot to talk about?”.
He took you to Wayne Manor at the approval of Bruce who after the night full of terrors, had decided you could be trusted with their identities. + Dick had already revealed himself so the rest wouldn’t be so hard to figure out, so he may as well save face and act as if he wanted you to know.
Dick borrowed you some clothes so you could change out of the suit, while you changed he got Alfred to make you both some tea and cookies for the long night of explaining that was ahead.
Once you both had finished the teapot had been emptied and refilled about 3 times and there wasn’t even any cookie crumbs left. It was also very late so Dick offered you to stay the night, which you gratefully accepted.
The two of you decided to have a sleepover like the ones you used to have when you were kids, which meant that the two of you were sharing the bed.
As you lay down next to each other Dick said quietly ”I’m so glad to have you back”. ”Couldn’t have said it better” you said with a smile, then the two of you fell asleep close together as if you hadn’t been seperated for 10 years.

I believe my questions are open, so if anyone has any, ask away, and I'll try to figure it out!
Bruce Wayne
In this AU, Bruce's backstory is pretty much the same as canon. I tried to think of what to make him, and had no idea. I didn't want him to be a vampire, because there are already so many Vampire!Batman Au's, which I love, but I wanted to do something different.
So Bruce Wayne is a human. His parents were still shot in crime alley, and he became batman same as canon. And as happens often, gets mistaken for a monster/crypid. This then Ieads to multiple children with various afflictions and curses tracking him down, and then him adopting and/or becoming their cool uncle.
he's tired, and wonders what choices lead him to this moment.
Barbara Gordon
Babs ended up getting bit as a teen -I haven't decided the hows and whys yet- and is transformed into a vampire.
she struggles with the changes and the new urges that come with the transformation, and upon remembering the rumors about the infamous batman, she decides to borrow her fathers batsignal and get some much needed advice.
Dick Grayson
Everyone in Gotham knows the tale of the fall of the flying graysons.
After Tony Zuccos sabotage of the trapeze, all three of the flying graysons fell to their deaths. Of course, as far as the public knows, two parents left their son behind.
A psychic of halys circus takes pity on the fallen boy, and uses all she has to give Richard a second chance at life. But she couldn't heal everything. All of his bones were crushed in the fall, and he was left with some less then ideal side affects.
she just hopes that playboy bruce wayne has the available facilities to give the boy the care he needs.
Jason Todd
Jason's Todd used to be a normal boy, or as normal as you can be when you are adopted by a billionare who moonlights as batman, who makes you his sidekick.
With big shoes to fill, he can be quite impulsive, and has made a couple on mistakes, the biggest of which gets him killed. You's all know what happens next, he comes back, in a body which sometimes falls apart of him, and a major grudge with a bat, and a score to settle with a clown.
Tim Drake
Timothy Drake, heir to the drake fortune, and werewolf.
After his parents tick off the wrong person, who happens to be a werecreature. They end up being monster chow and there only son is transformed. With no parents and am uncontrollable curse, he lingers on Gotham rooftops watching his heros, Batman and the boy wonder.
After Robins death, realising the batman has no intensions of finding another robin, decides he knows how to fix both of their problems.
Cassandra Cain
when David Cain wanted to create the ultimate human weapon, inspired by mythology, he experimented with gene modification. He created a girl who shared the abilities of the nalusa falaya, a being known to melt into the shadows attacking hunters, giving them power to do evil to others.
After her first kill, she was found by Barbara Gordon after he reported being saved from a gunshot by a shadow.
Stephanie Brown
After discovering her fathers wizard heritage, and his plans for Gotham, begins experimenting in witchcraft, attempting to master the craft, so she can spoil -
"Get it, spoiler? Cuz I'm spoiling his plans?"
- eventually, word reached batman and his crew, everyone knows nothing escapes them, and she is busted by the boy wonder himself.
Damian al ghul-Wayne
After Bruce Waynes relationship with Talia al ghuIs crashed and burned upon discovering her father is that Al Ghul, the demonhead and carnivorous werewolf, he left unknowing his ex was expecting.
Only discovering this ten years later, after Talia delivers said baby to Wayne manor.
At least he has experience with werecreature children?
Duke Thomas
After the Thomas family was the victim of a joker attack, ending in both parents being in a permanently jokerised state, and their only son is killed, his spirit staying in Gotham.
He is trying to learn to live in this new state, with the assistance of the Wayne Clan, he just might make it.

Chapter Seven: Daylily
Jason awakened to Ra's reading something by his bedside. He sat up, shaking and drenched in sweat. "What did you do to me?" Jason asked. Ra's patted Jason's forehead with a damp towelette. "What did you do to me?" Jason raised his voice.
"You have a strong mind," Ra's whispered, "That being said, we'll resume your training tomorrow afternoon."
Jason watched as Ra's stood up and left the room, leaving the door cracked. He took a deep breath and looked around the cell-like room. Jason swallowed hard and stepped out of bed. He approached the door and stepped out into the hall. "Mama? Didi?" Jason asked. No one answered, so he kept walking until he got to his library. Reading helped him clear his head. So, he curled up in the alcove window and read until he fell asleep.
"Where is he?" Talia yelled. Jason sat up and rubbed his eyes. He sat still, waiting for Talia to come and get him. He knew she'd find him soon enough. "Jason! Jason, are you in here?"
Jason ran to her and embraced her, almost knocking her down. "Mama," Jason whispered. Talia breathed in and rested her chin atop Jason's head.
She made a soft noise and smoothed Jason's hair down in the back. "What are you reading?" Talia asked gently. Jason took her hand and led her to the alcove. "One of my favorites."
They sat together in the window and read aloud until sunrise. So it became Jason and Talia's tradition.
Jason's training resumed, and for a year and a half, he was murdered in every way imaginable while still preserving his body. Every time was more painful than the last. Gunshots. Smoke inhalation. Dehydration. Strangulation. He died until the fear of death left him, and the one person that did anything to preserve his humanity during that time was Talia. She would read with him while he recovered in every language she could. With every death, he grew stronger and smarter, but he was no longer the boy he once was. Not on the inside, anyway.
His head constantly ached from the stress of his thoughts. Sometimes he thought about killing Ra's and running away, but Ra's was family. No one could have a family without sacrifice. That's what Jason told himself.
Ra's woke Jason out of his sleep one night. Jason sat up and reached for his shirt. "I've come to make a request," Ra's stated.
Jason swallowed hard and nodded. "Whatever you ask, consider it done," Jason replied. His chest ached as he uttered the words.
"I've arranged for you to go to Gotham to retrieve a piece of information by any means necessary. You'll receive a file in the morning with everything you need to know, and you'll depart from the island at the end of the week," Ra's explained. Jason nodded. It was a relief. He assumed his first assignment would be an assassination. Any assignment would be better than that.
"By any means necessary," Jason whispered. Ra's smiled and stepped out into the dark hallway, shutting the door behind him. Jason didn't sleep. Instead, he cleaned up and walked to the training room.
Talia stood with a bo staff, waiting for him. "Would you like to talk?" Talia asked. He smiled, taking his bo staff off the wall. Talia struck first without so much as a warning, and Jason chuckled.
"I'm leaving at the end of the week. I'm going back to Gotham," Jason replied. He swept at her feet with his staff, and she took advantage of his attack and swung at his head. Jason ducked, and they both stood back from each other. "You don't want me to go."
"I want you to do what feels right," Talia replied, "And I want you to think." Jason dropped his staff and took hers.
"This is a test. I know it's a test," Jason whispered, "That's why I said yes. He wants to know if I'm weak." Talia frowned. She feared he wouldn't return to her if he left.
She reached for him, cradling his face in her hands. "Will you promise me something?" Talia asked.
"Anything, Mama. I will promise you anything," Jason whispered. A lone tear streamed down her cheek as she pressed her forehead to his.
"Promise me you'll come home," Talia whispered.
Jason pulled away. "Of course, I'll come back, Mama. Why would you ask that?" Jason whispered. Jason knew she asked him to make that promise because Jason wasn't sure if he'd come back. His word was his bond.
"Or at least ask that we come to you... Damian and I," Talia explained. Jason swallowed hard and nodded. "Jason, the thoughts that you're having. I have them too."
"How do you—?"
"I'm your mother. It's my job to know these things... And I see the look in your eyes sometimes," Talia interrupted. "You'll have to avoid Batman while you're there."
Jason blinked hard. He'd almost forgotten about Batman. It'd been so long since he'd been to Gotham. "Right... I should probably brush up on current events," Jason whispered. Talia shook her head.
"After breakfast, Jason," Talia whispered. Jason nodded. "And until then, stay with me. Talk to me."
"I don't know what to talk about, Mama," Jason replied. Talia sat on the ground and let Jason lay his head on her lap.
Talia knew his heart was heavy, and she just wanted to make him smile. Just once. "Will you be alright on your own?" Talia asked.
"I think so," Jason whispered, "I haven't been alone in a long time, but-. Oh, you're teasing." He grinned, holding back a laugh.
"If you should start to feel homesick..." Talia took off her necklace and closed it in Jason's hand. "Take it with you." Jason opened his mouth to decline the gift and she shook her head. "It's not a gift. I do expect you to bring it back to me at some point," Talia joked.
"Okay, that makes me feel a little better," Jason chuckled.

So these are my thoughts on a Spy x Family/Batman fanfic AU based on @reineydraws very cute and fun art that I'll write someday in the vague future. My Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun AU takes precedent over this, but I wanted to get this out because it's been eating my brain.
I will admit that I have read almost no Batman comics or watched TV shows but I started reading fanfic for it and now the Batfam runs through my brain 24/7. I am currently reading the Young Justice comics, though, and will be reading more when I'm done with that.
So here's how I'm mashing the two canons together: this is a no superheroes AU where no one has any powers (except Anya and other potential government experiments that haven't come up) and the Spy x Family universe is farther in the future so there's computers and cell phones (the reason why is shown later). Also, Eden Academy is slightly more accepting of strange familial situations (at least for Bruce Wayne) and less obsessed with image because I can't imagine canon Eden Academy accepting a disabled Babs. That's the main setting, but the characters are far more important to me.
Bruce Wayne was orphaned in the war but since this setting actually has therapists he's a lot more well-adjusted and does not go out dressed as a bat to beat up criminals, which is good because Ostania is a police state and they would not tolerate that. The country does, however, have an organization like WISE who also doesn't want another war, and Bruce is involved with that, using his Brucie persona to get information on warmongers in the government. That organization (which doesn't have a name yet) works tentatively with WISE but they don't exactly trust one another. Unfortunately, Donovan Desmond fucking hates Brucie Wayne and so doesn't interact with him at the Imperial Scholars gatherings, leading to Operation Strix still needing to be done. He's beloved by the city of Berlint, just like the Wayne's are in Gotham, which is a big reason why Dick and Jason are able to be accepted into Eden Academy late and Damian without a mom. Twilight is aware that there's a person in the upper echelons of Ostania but doesn't know who it is and is trying to figure it out. Bruce uses his money to make social programs to uplift his fellow citizens in poverty because if you're rich that's what you should do or I'll fucking hate you.
Dick Grayson is still an orphaned circus acrobat (although here his parents deaths are a legitimate tragic accident) that Bruce adopts who is able to get into Eden late due to his intelligence, athleticism, and lots and lots of bribes. Instead of the Court of Owls, he's connected to the Garden here and the Shopkeeper is his relative instead of William Cobb. Bruce is very adamant that Dick is not involved with that, so while Dick knows about the Garden and it's members, he's more involved with the organization Bruce is in. He is legitimately friends with Demetrius Desmond, but his relationship to his father is like Damian's (who is an unreliable narrator when it comes to his family) so he has no information for Dick to get for the organization. He's also close friends with Babs.
Barbara is the daughter of the police commissioner who isn't involved in the SS and is still disabled because she was kind of a gamechanger in comics with her disability so I want to keep that. I haven't decided whether she was born with it or if it was an injury but she still has a wheelchair. Babs is also still Oracle (which is why I need the technology to be updated) and is a hacker similar to maia arson crimew IRL (god bless it) who leaks documents of crimes the Ostanian government has done, and has to be very careful to never reveal her identity because she would immediately be detained, tortured, and killed. Thankfully, very few people would suspect that Oracle is a disabled teenage girl at Eden Academy. No one except Tim, that is.
Jason meets Bruce after trying to jack his car wheels and Bruce takes one look at this child and thinks "Mine" and so Jason is adopted. He is also accepted at Eden Academy late because of his stellar academics and because Bruce had already set a precedent. He's a good athlete, but he's not a prodigious gymnast like Dick so that's not part of why he gets in. Unlike Bruce and Dick, he's not involved in the organization. Instead he's involved in the groups of civilians who are against the police state. In the manga, the only resistance groups are people who are willing to put innocent people in danger, which sucks a lot. The organization Jason's involved in would absolutely kill some government officials but wouldn't get civilians harmed. Duke is also involved in this, but he's a minor character and I'm already juggling so many characters but imagine Duke and Jason working together in a gang setting. DC, why have you not done this already?
Cass (OP didn't include Cass in the original post but I love Cass so she's being included) was still trained to be an assassin from birth with David Cain being part of the Garden, but the Shopkeeper actually has some morals and is horrified when he sees what's been done to Cass, maybe when she's around 9 years old and Cain shows her off to the Shopkeeper, expect him to be impressed. Manipulating children into being assassins is one thing, but training a child to be a weapon and literally nothing else is another, so Cain is disposed of (maybe by Yor) and the Shopkeeper sends Cass to be taken care of by Bruce because he knows that he's a good dad because he takes care of Dick. Unfortunately because she's spent her entire life up to this point not being able to speak or read, she's not able to catch up in school enough to be accepted into Eden Academy, but she is able to go to a school that focuses on dance and she lives her dreams of being a ballerina and meets Steph there, maybe doing another type of dance because I can't imagine Steph as a ballerina. She's not involved in politics the way her brothers and father are, but that's okay because she deserves to just be happy.
Tim is the neighbor of Bruce Wayne who, when Bruce realizes is horribly neglected, unofficially adopts him and eventually sues the Drakes for child abuse and officially adopts him. He was already in Eden Academy so that's not a problem. Tim doesn't have a Batman to obsess over in this universe, but he does have an Oracle to obsess over. He somehow finds out Oracle's identity (I'll figure out how later) and begs to be her apprentice, and she eventually takes him on because Tim is stubborn AF and also a talented hacker in his own right. He's best friends with Conner, the son of reporters Clark and Lois Kent (who report critcal things that the government is doing with pseudonyms), because I'm weak for their relationship. I want to add the rest of the Core Four but I don't know how so we'll see how that goes. He suspects that Bruce and Dick are part of the secret organization and that Jason is part of the civilian resistance to the police state but doesn't want to be involved with that because he's already involved with resistance work and the less he knows the better in case he's found out by the government.
Damian is the actual son of Bruce and Talia, who met on a business trip Bruce or Talia took and they had a fling which resulted in Damian. Ra's doesn't have access to a Lazarus Pit here because those don't exist so he's just a normal cult leader who's been dead before Talia and Bruce meet. Talia has turned the cult's assets into a business venture so Damian has an actually fairly normal, if spoiled and also full of martial arts training because that's still important to Talia, upbringing. Bruce and Talia share custody and Damian stays with his father for the school year and with his mother during breaks. Bruce and Talia may still be in love. I don't know, I'll figure it out. Anyway, Damian has a huge rivalry with the other Damian because they're both sons of influential people with a chip on their shoulder, but they're also foils because Damian W actually has a loving family and Damian D doesn't. Damian W befriends Anya and Becky specifically because he wants to annoy Damian D but eventually becomes legitimately fond of them (and Damian D and his friends) but he will never admit it. He's just as much of a tsundere as the other Damian, just in a platonic way. Damian also faces racism due to his brown skin (BECAUSE HE'S DARK OKAY DC LET HIM BE A POC).
The actual story will have some focus on the little shenanigans of the kids at Eden like in SxF (including the older kids), but instead of focusing on Twilight and Yor, the other part will focus on the Wayne's and their allies political maneuverings, but also some slice-of-life with Cass because she deserves it. We may have some small flashes to the Forger family, but they're not the focus. There will also be Batfam fluff because I'm a sucker for that.

Dick: Root beer- Rootbeer has no caffeine. As I am certain Dick has ADHD, I am sure he does not want the caffeine to slow him down. Dick was raised in a circus and the overly saccharine taste of root beer makes him think of his younger years. No one else understands why Dick does this as it is not remotely close to satiating a thirst after salty fries and a greasy burger, but he refuses any other kind
Jason: Mr. Pibb - Jason rarely drinks soda and only does so on the go. His fave is Mr. Pibb. He grew up poor and on the streets so name brand Dr. Pepper is too bougie for him. He is a simple man and Mr. Pibb it is.
Tim: Diet Coke- Tim only drinks Diet Coke when he goes out. If a waiter states they have Diet Pepsi instead and asks if that is okay he promptly says no, much to the annoyance of everyone with him, and will protest by ordering water. He is never rude about it, it is just what he likes. Everyone has tried to convince him to get Diet Pepsi, but he insists it is not the same and is too sweet to compliment a meal properly. WE always makes sure to keep the vending machine closest to his office stocked
Stephanie: Diet coke/Diet whatever- Stephanie is not particular, and despite what people assume of her, she isn't actually a huge fan of sweets or soda. She will always order a diet coke, but unlike Tim, she is flexible. She grew up poor and was often just given whatever was cheapest. She is ammenable
Cass: anything- Cass never got to have soda or fast food or even eat at restaurants. She will always follow the order of who ever she likes the most that day. Stephanie picked up on this amd often makes fun recommendations or even suggests mixes of 2 sodas together. Cass so far has loved everything she has tried, except grape soda. She hates grape soda
Duke: lemonade/tea/powerade- Duke was never allowed carbonated beverages when he was growing up. He keeps this rule even now as an adult because if his parents ever do come back from the joker gas, he wants them to know he listened and didn't change (too much)
Barbara: Dr. Pepper/Diet Dr. Pepper- Wait, or was it Diet Dr. Pepper? She can never taste the difference. She enjoys it the most, but also likes to tout that it isn't owned by the CocaCola company or Pepsi and feels like she is doing her part to not support the big 2
Damian: Sprite- Bruce said he could not have caffeine and wasn't even supposed to drink soda in the first place, yet this is somehow the compromise they landed on. He particularly likes the McDonald's crispy kind
Bruce: Coke- Bruce rarely drinks soda, but if he is going to, it will be coke. It is what he has always had and what he will always choose.

I see a lot of people complaining about Dick's "lack of reaction" to Jason's death in the most recent Titans season and, I have to say... I don't see it. I'm not a psychologist by any means but I do have some experience dealing with grief and trauma, in myself and others. I feel it has to be stated to that not everyone processes grief the same way. I get it, we all want there to be more EMOTION involved. We want to see SOMEONE cry over Jason (that isn't Tim apparently). I too think it would have been moving to see the stoic Batman break down a bit in the cave after laying his kid to rest. But there are some things we have to remember:
1. This isn't fanon. Not everything is going to happen the same way fandom Batfam makes us want things to.
2. These characters and their relationships are in their infancy. Jason and Dick were never shown growing close when he was Robin for a reason. I, personally, thought it was a really good way to show the difference in how Dick handles Jason and how Jason would come to handle Tim - resentment. Ultimately, Dick knew his problems were with Bruce, not Jason. Jason hasn't quite come to those terms yet. His relationship to Dick was more important to HIM than it ever really was to Dick.
More importantly, I think Jason's going through the same things the fans are. He wants a specific reaction that his emotionally stunted family isn't going to give him.
3. Titans takes place AFTER Jason's death. Yes, we saw it on screen. But we didn't get to see the actual immediate reaction of any of the team (aside from Gar and Kon) once they got the news. We don't know how Dick reacted to that phone call. We don't know if he found a rooftop and cried. We don't know if Kory hugged him while he broke down and mourned for the brother he had just come to terms with having. We DO know that he was pissed at Bruce for having the funeral without him.
4. Alfred is gone. Alfred has ALWAYS been the one person to force the entire family to face their emotions. It makes sense that without him there, Bruce would be a lot more emotionally stunted.
5. Multiple times in the series we've been shown Donna and now Barbara calling Dick out on the way he acts and the way he was raised. He was raised a soldier, a detective, raised to channel his grief and suffering into anger and *justice*. The Batman didn't have time for little Dick Grayson's emotions after his parents died. He trained him to put those emotions to the side and focus on things he can solve.
Which is why Dick's so hung up on the "drug" Jason was on.
6. EVERYONE processes grief differently. Everyone. Some people get sad, some drown that grief in whatever they can find, some get angry (Bruce), some point fingers, some try to solve a problem and hold together a family that was never truly whole. Keep in mind we're on episode four only here.
7. Dick is traumatized. Like. Literally traumatized. This man is probably so desensitized to death that it's insane. We all said we wanted the Robins on screen and now that we're getting it - and getting an almost realistic approach to what that would do to a child's psychology - we're upset that it's not... what? I think, personally, considering all of the death and destruction Dick has regularly been around since before he was Robin (with his parents) he's reacting to things exactly how most people would.
8. He's been left to protect Gotham. Batman's dipped, we don't know where Bruce is, and Dick is told to protect the city. The city he left. The role he never wanted. He called in his team. He YELLED at Bruce that he would never be Robin again (guys, this is huge! He's standing up for his own principles against someone who, in season one, he wanted the approval of so bad). His TEAM is his family.
I see a breakdown coming. I just think we all have to prepared for it to not be tears and crying and, instead, be anger. Anger is the only way these boys have been taught to deal with their bad emotions.
Or, who knows, Donna - who is a big sister figure to Dick - could show up and make him confront the things he's been refusing to confront.
Idk this is just my opinion and my read on things. What do I know? 😂

BatFam for Beginners
For a couple years now I’ve been slowly luring friends and family into the Batman fandom. The majority of them are, like me, functionally comic illiterate, so I send them a quick primer to lay the groundwork before chucking them into the fic pool. And then today I realized that maybe this primer would be helpful for others, either those looking to do their own luring or individuals who are open to being lured. So here we go.

So you want to get into Batman. Cool! But maybe you’re not into Mr. Gloom and Growl I Am The Night Man Pain like the kind most commonly portrayed. That’s fine. You don't want Batman. You want BatFam.
BatFam (noun) is the colloquial term for the family of Bruce Wayne, aka Batman. It is also a general way to indicate a section of fandom (fic, discourse, etc.) that focuses on the mythos of Batman through the lens of family.
My Pitch
BatFam fics focus on Bruce Wayne, a very tired single dad Who Tries, and his bajillion children whom he loves very much. Sometimes they dress up in costumes and go punch people. Sometimes they punch each other. In love. Sibling Culture.
The Fam
Sound like fun? Neat. Okay, so very quickly, here's what you need to know. And really, even this stuff you don't NEED to know, but context can be helpful. So read it or don't, but it's all below if you need context while reading the fics listed at the end.
Bruce Wayne: Batman. Single dad. Not great with communicating his feelings, but he's Trying His Best. He'll sometimes play the "Brucie" persona—doltish billionaire—in social settings to further disguise his Batman-ness. You know the backstory: Parents shot in front of him when he was a kid. Hates guns. Does not kill, period.
Alfred Pennyworth: Butler. Dad figure to Bruce. Very drily sarcastic. All-around good egg.
Barbara Gordon: The original Batgirl, daughter of Commissioner Gordon. She dated Dick for a while. Then the Joker shot her and paralyzed her, so she became Oracle, Batman's super-hacker.
Dick Grayson: The original Robin. Orphaned son of circus performers, taken in as Bruce's ward. Generally sunny personality, bit of a temper. Got into a lot of fights with Bruce during his teen rebellion years and quit being Robin (or, alternatively, just outgrew the role) to become Nightwing. As an adult, his day job is as a cop in the nearby town of Bludhaven. At one point, Bruce is presumed dead and Dick steps in as Batman. More on that below.
Jason Todd: Robin #2. Clever street kid orphan Bruce adopted after catching him trying to steal the Batmobile's tires. When he was 15, he was lured into a warehouse in Ethiopia by the Joker, beaten with a crowbar/tire iron (depends on the version, doesn’t matter) until nearly dead, then blown up. He died, came back to life in a zombie state, and was restored to consciousness by a dip in the immortal glowing green Lazarus Pit by Talia al Ghul (daughter of the Liam Neeson character in the Christian Bale Batman movie.) When he came back to life, he learned that Bruce had replaced him with Robin #3 and had failed to kill the Joker, so he went on a crazy revenge streak as the Red Hood. It was a really dramatic to-do and his relationship with Bruce & Co. tends to be really shaky in a lot of the fics, because he's tried to kill all of them at least once. He is a good boy and I love him.
Tim Drake: Robin #3. Bruce's next-door-neighbor, wicked smart, pieced together Batman's secret identity on his own. When Jason died and Bruce spiraled, Tim stepped in as Robin to keep Bruce was self-destructing. Eventually, his own parents died, and Bruce adopted him. When Bruce "dies" and Dick becomes Batman, Dick replaces Tim with Robin #5 and Tim becomes Red Robin. It's messy.
Stephanie Brown: Robin #4. Steph's dad was a villain named Cluemaster, so she dressed up in a crappy costume and called herself Spoiler in an attempt to bring him down. She also dated Tim for a bit. I don't know her story as well, because she's not in a ton of fics. Basically, she was Robin for a hot second, then took over as Batgirl for Babs. There was also a storyline where she gave a kid up for adoption, and another one where she faked her death for a bit. I dunno. She’s mouthy and independent, so what’s not to like?
Cassandra Cain: Teen Chinese ex-assassin. How she ended up with Bruce is Involved, so don’t worry about it, but he adopted her. She is his favorite child, usually. She has some learning disabilities, so while she can speak, words usually aren't her thing. She's great with body language and sign language, though. I think she was Batgirl for a hot second, but now she's also been Orphan and Black Bat. Her costume is the coolest out of all of them.
Damian Wayne: Robin #5 and Bruce's only biological child. Bruce had an oopsie with Talia that she hid from him. (This is the version we stick with in my corner, though there are other versions.) She kept the boy and trained him as an elite assassin, then dumped him with Bruce when he was 10. He starts out arrogant, bratty, and emotionally repressed because his mom's an abusive assassin. Go figure. He bumped Tim out as Robin and ended up having an almost father/son relationship with Dick (while Bruce was "dead") even though they're brothers. He's learning, bless his heart.
There’s also periphery Fam, like Barbara’s dad Commissioner Gordon, Selina Kyle, Clark Kent/Superman, Bruce’s other superhero friends, the kids’ various superhero friends, etc. (There are also even more Robins I didn’t mention above, because they’re not in fics consistently enough for me to know them, but they’re out there if you want to find them!) Don’t worry about them. Meet them as you meet them.
Inevitably you’ll read a fic that directly contradicts multiple parts of the above. That’s totally okay. Just roll with it. (Or don’t! Fic is about finding the versions you like.) Remember: Tired single dad. Many children. All loved.

There are currently 41,283 English-language Batman fics on AO3, excluding crossovers, so if you want to dive in and go ham, you can. However, when I was first getting a feel for this BatFam ~thing~, I started with two Fics:
Bruce Wayne Is Banned From Walmart by @unpretty - This one is fun, silly, and hilarious. This author also has a ton of other Batman-related works on AO3, including this series, which is very good. (I don’t usually read Mature or Explicit fics, so I can’t speak to those, but the rest are fantastic.)
Cor Et Cerebrum by @audreycritter - This is the fic that got me into the fandom to begin with. Start with the first fic and just read. Thank me later.

Summary: Jason Todd was raised on the streets, in Gotham’s filth, but the blood that was running through his veins was everything but. Jason was the last of a line of gruesome, death stained mages, necromancers who dealt in souls and flickering images of immortality. Jason was a fifteen-year-old boy who crawled out of his grave, weeks after he died, reanimated by powers he couldn’t understand or control, and struggled to feel alive even when his father was holding onto him.

I had a night I had a day I did one million stupid things I said one billion foolish things I'm not okay
If there are two emotions Jason knows well, they are  fear and anger. Both had accompanied him since his earliest childhood memories. His father’s shouting had been a constant source of anger and fear. His loud voice had forced Jason to hide beneath the table, his bed, the closet, all spaces he had falsely assumed would be too small for his father to reach. With bated breath he had waited for the screeching to stop until only his mother’s soft sobs had echoed through the rooms. Those too had angered Jason. He didn’t know whether it was on her behalf, because he had hated his father so much for causing her any pain, or because that anger had been for himself, the poor child whose mother wasn’t strong enough to leave her piece of shit husband.
On the streets, anger had kept him warm at night and fear had ensured he stayed alive. He had marveled at the shiny tires of the Batmobile, but even then, deep down, he had been so incredibly angry. He was going hungry while another drove a car like that. He had ignored his fear then and stolen the tires regardless.
It had been the best decision of his life.
So now, when once again  he was stuck between fear and anger, he chose to dismiss his fear and lash out instead.
“You can’t be serious!” Jason hissed, throwing up his arms.
Rage boiled beneath his skin like an active volcano. It infected his voice, his stance. He rose to his full height, making him the tallest in the room, but none of his siblings even blinked at it. They were too used to such simpleminded intimidation tactics, employed similar ones in front of villains who thought they could get the better of them.
“This is the right way,” Dick said, his voice strained with finality, a kind of authority he had no right to evoke.
He was not their leader, and he sure as hell was not their father. Dick barely understood what Jason was capable of and when he did, was too scared of it. The others didn’t see it, but Jason knew a coward when he saw one. Dick always tip-toed around Jason’s room like he expected the undead to crawl right out of it and drag him into a bloody casket. Beyond that, he also always took the patrol routes far away from Jason’s apartment complex and city district. Jason didn’t mind, he preferred it when the others kept their noses out of the Narrows and Crime Alley. His people didn’t particularly enjoy it either when the other bats and birds came around to play there as they tended to mess with the wards and ask uncomfortable questions. Jason understood too well how unsettling his presence could be and therefore knew very well that Dick had no room to make such decisions or judge Jason for them.
“The right way,” Jason repeated. “Do you even hear yourself? If everything was right, Bruce would still be here!”
Tim and Steph both winced when Jason said his name and even Dick’s face fell. They all didn’t understand it. Death was so final to them instead of just another state of being, one that Jason could reverse.
“I can bring him back,” Jason continued, desperation seeping into his voice. “Everything will be alright again. It’s all in these books. I just need your help.”
Why couldn’t his siblings just understand that he would fix it and then everything would go back to being the way it was before Darkseid had torn their lives to shreds. The Cave had become messy since Bruce’s death. It had been barely a month ago but it already showed despite best efforts. Jason had dragged all his books here to study and take notes, the constant hum of the technology as much a motivational hymn as it was a lullaby. His notes now were spread out all across the table, proudly displaying the work Dick was disregarding so very easily.
Dick only stubbornly shook his head. “No, Bruce wouldn’t want that.”
This wasn’t about what Bruce wanted, he was dead. This was simply about deciding how they were going to fix it.
“You don’t know that,” Jason countered. “It’s not like he wrote it in his will.”
Dick let out a low breath and dragged his hands through his hair as if Jason were causing him a headache. They had attended the reading of the will just hours before. Alfred had made sure they had all dressed up in proper suits the way they had for the closed casket funeral because there hadn’t been a body to recover. It would make it all more difficult to bring Bruce back without his original body to tie his soul too, but Jason was confident that he would be able to pull it off. Jason had only listened half-heartedly to the reading of the will. He knew its contents by heart, they all did. Every hero had a will set up and about ten proxies who knew every word and could recite it in case their death had been unnatural.
Alfred had been given custody over Damian while Tim had been emancipated. The Wayne fortune had been split five ways between Dick, Jason, Tim, Cass, and Damian while Steph and Barbara both got a huge stipend. It was all for nothing, Bruce would be back. Cass knew it as well, or so Jason hoped. She hadn’t even bothered to show for the funeral but had left the city the night before. Jason wished she had stayed, she would support him.
Instead, Jason had to make everyone else listen to him.
Tim was still straight up in denial and didn’t believe that Bruce was dead. His parents had died around the same time, just two years earlier. Of course, he wouldn’t be able to handle it and escape into his delusions instead. Steph, for all that she was a part of the team and family, Jason’s closest confidant out of all of them, had chosen to stay neutral while Dick protested vehemently.
Damian, meanwhile, just thought that Jason wouldn’t be able to pull it off, but that could be blamed on his superiority complex. While the kid, a perfect mix of Talia and Bruce, could imitate Bruce’s accent and body language as well as he wanted to, he still reeked of al Ghul arrogance and the Lazarus pit’s side effects. It was a foul stench, poisonous, and foreign to this world. It had hurt Bruce when Jason had told him what exactly was keeping Damian’s heart beating, but there was nothing that could be done about it. It wasn’t like anybody else besides Jason actually noticed.
“Had he wanted to, we would know,” Dick said.
“But-“
“Jason, stop.” Dick’s order, his tone couldn’t be mistaken for anything but a bark, was harsh. “Bruce is dead and he will stay dead. You will not experiment on his soul just because you think you can bring him back.”
“I don’t think so, I know so,” Jason argued. “You’re just incapable of trusting me! You still think I’m a foolish kid who is just playing around with powers he doesn’t understand!”
His voice rose with every shouted word. It had always been like this. Dick thinking that Jason was crossing too many lines, wasn’t good enough to be Robin or anything. Hell, he had accepted Tim more readily as Robin than he ever had Jason.
“Jason-“ Tim tried to speak up, but was harshly cut off by Dick.
Trust big brother to always know best.
“Because you are!” Dick shouted back. It hurt, cut into flesh like sharp knives, but at the same time it was liberating. Finally, Dick was actually speaking his mind. Honesty, so Jason had learned, was the only way to keep moving forward. They all lied, it was a part of their training, came as natural as breathing, but there was a line you had to be aware of.
“Bruce is dead and you can’t let go. Instead of helping me figure out how to keep Gotham running, you run off and bury your head in old books to find a solution to a problem that isn’t there! He’s gone. I needed you on patrol tonight and you didn’t show.”
Patrol had been just fine, Dick hadn’t needed him. Jason had kept an eye on the comms, they had done as good as they could with three men down. It hadn’t even been a busy night.
“You’re just giving up!”
“And you’re delusional!” Dick retorted.
He picked up one of the pages the closest to him. The originally white paper was covered by ink stains, diagrams smeared uncaringly all over it while Jason had been trying to figure out what exactly his ancestors had gotten up to when they tried to raise the dead.
“This is too much, Jason. You’re only setting yourself up for my failure. I let you keep researching because I thought it would help, but it’s only hurting you. You have to let go.”
“And leave?” Jason spat out. “Like you always do the moment something goes wrong with Bruce?”
Dick froze. His annoyance and misguided worry slowly twisted into dark anger. At that moment, it just felt right. Dick had ceased pretending that he was so much better than them, that he wasn’t struggling without Bruce around. Jason loathed how he sat at breakfast every day, acting as if it was all still alright and fine, smiling and lying continuously.
“I-“ Dick interrupted himself, reigning in his anger as everybody else watched him with keen eyes. “No, no, I’m not having this discussion with you. None of us are on board with your reckless endeavor, so you’re not doing it and that’s final.”
Jason turned to look at the rest of his family, but they were all averting their eyes. Of course, they would all side with Dick over him. He was older, more experienced, the first Robin out of all of them.
He wasn’t the resurrected boy who talked to ghosts and turned living beings to worthless decay with nothing more than a touch.
“I see,” Jason replied and grabbed his jacket from the chair.
Fine, it wasn’t like he needed any of them anyway. It would have been easier with more living anchors, but Batman had left his mark all over the city. Gotham was his, even the magic that buried itself so far underground that hardly anybody could see it knew who it belonged to. Jason had plenty of anchors he could use to bring Bruce back. What were five children compared to an entire city?
“Where are you going?” Tim spoke up. He had barely said a word since Jason and Dick had started fighting, but Jason supposed that it made sense given that Tim thought both of them were wrong.
“Away from here,” Jason replied. “Since Dick is so keen on running this show himself, he can do it. I’m out.”
“What?” Steph asked. “Wait! Jason, no, you have to stay!”
“What I need to do is fix this.”
Jason picked his backpack up from the ground and started stuffing his papers into it. He didn’t particularly care in which order he did it, he would have to sort through them all anyway once he was back in his apartment. He needed to toss those that were trash and copy the calculations and incantations that actually made sense and seemed like they were a good first step onto fresh sheets. Maybe he should get actual parchment. He didn’t usually work with dead writing materials, but with whatever he had on hand. His spells were powerful enough without, but he couldn’t afford any mistakes here.
Once he was finished, he threw his backpack over his shoulder and headed towards his bike, not sparing the group behind him another glance.
“Jason,” Dick started once more.
Jason just threw his hands up, dismissing him.
“Don’t worry, Richard,” he said. “It’s not like I can stay dead for long if something goes wrong. Don’t bother contacting me. I’ll come back once I’m finished.”
He couldn’t see his older brother’s reaction, but Jason would bet that he had flinched. They all hated to be reminded of Jason’s death, but it wasn’t like Jason could erase that part of him.
Jason put on his bright red helmet and turned on his bike. Then, without looking back, he drove off, disappearing into the dawn of a new day.

Figuring out the Batfam age in a way that makes sense.
Let me preface this by stating that the timeline is all messed up. I got inspired by a post that had the years that each Robin was a Robin, i.e. Dick was robin for like 40 yrs, Jason lasted around 6 years, Tim around 20, Stephanie less than a year, and Damian has been Robin for 11 years now. 
This took me approximately 9 tries to make it seem as seamless as possible, I wanted to maintain continuity and certain years/ages that are explicitly stated in the comics. 
Also do to technology use and references in the comics now we are assuming that their age (in the post) is their current age in 2020. 
Alfred: He is 72 years old, he was a spy for some years and later went to the Wayne Manor as a favor to his father when Thomas and Martha Wayne had a child. Alfred was 29 yrs at the age of Bruce’s birth. 39 yrs when the Waynes were shot. 
Bruce: His parents were shot when he was 10 yrs old, he started training fairly soon after maybe 11-12, and travel the world with the company of Alfred until 16 when he emancipated himself and went to train with the likes of Ra’s Al Ghul, he also briefly saw a young Clark Kent seeking to train as well (I forgot the comic but it was like a glance). Comes back around 24, sees the bat, becomes Batman. At 26 years old, takes in Dick Grayson as his ward. At 30 years old, he and Talia have their affair and Damian becomes the result. Fast forward 13 years, he is now 43 years old. Clark Kent is 42 years old. 
Dick: His parents died at 9 years old, he becomes the first Boy Wonder at 10, after a year of training. Get’s kidnap at the age of 13 by the League of Assassins, creates the Teen Titans at 15-16, quits being Robin at 18, and becomes Nightwing 2-3 months later. At 23 becomes Batman after Bruce’s death, and takes Damian under his wing. He is now 26. 
Jason: Steals the Batmobile’s wheels at 14, trains and takes the mantel of Robin before his 15th birthday. Dies at 15 around April. comes back to life around 16-17, comes back to Gotham at 18 yrs old to take his vengeance on Bruce and the Joker, becoming the Red Hood after the Joker’s alleged first alias. He is currently 22 years old. 
Tim: (So here’s the thing, due to the fact that DC does not care for chronological order unless you want Jason and Tim to be the same age- which is what I originally had because it’s the most logical based on storylines- Tim’s story had to be changed a bit, because fandom likes Tim to be younger than Jason). His parents takes him to see the Flying Grayson when he was 2 years old (2003), while he doesn’t remember the show- obviously- he did get a DVD of the Flying Graysons which he used to analyze when he went all Charlie Kelly on Batman. He figures out who Batman is at 13, and takes becomes the 3rd Robin in the process. At 15 his father is killed by Captain Boomerang, and he is adopted by Bruce, at 16 he meets Damian. He is now 19 years old. 
Stephanie: I made her the same age as Tim but you can add one year if you would so please. Becomes pregnant at 15, as well as being Spoiler, briefly becomes Robin. Gives child up for adoption at 16, dies, comes back, becomes Batgirl. Later on goes back to Spoiler, and is now 19 years old. 
Damian: Born and trained in the League of Assassins, “met” Jason Todd when he was still a child around 7-8 years old while Jason trained under Talia. Jason leaves, and Damian has still not earned the right to know who his father is. On his 10th birthday Damian finally defeats Talia and is granted his wish, he meets Bruce and Tim a week later, and lasts less than a month before being taken back to the League. The following months go crazy between Ra’s wanting to use Damian’s body as his own, and the shorty after his own father dying. He moves into the Wayne Tower’s penthouse to be under the care of Dick Grayson and Alfred Pennyworth. Fast forward 3 years and he is now 13 years old, and created his own Teens Titans. Jon is 10 turning 11 years old. 
Duke: I put Duke around the age of 16 because he is definitely a teenager but he was also placed in foster care after his parents death so he has to be less than 18. 
I’m missing Barbara and Cass so I will be updating this soon. spoiler- Barb is also 26 give or take but I just want to solidify her timeline and Jim’s.

Batfam During Quarantine: Avatar
Dick: Okay, lets try to keep the craziness to a minimum. Harper and Cullen are quarantining for two weeks so lets not do anything to make them jealous.
Duke: *Duke and Tim walk into the room* Omg, We just finished watching Avatar The Last Airbender for like the fifth time right now! I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH!!! WHY DID THEY EVER TAKE IT OFF OF NETFLIX!!!
Dick: Guys, come on. I literally just said to keep the craziness to a minimum.
Tim: They have Netflix set up on their tv. They should be fine.
Damian: What is Avatar The Last Airbender
Everyone: *gasp*
Selina: Some....
Jason: Sh ta ta ta ta. *presses his finger to Selina’s lips* Don’t speak, I know just what you’re sayin’, so please stop explainin’.
Selina: Really Jason? How long have you been waiting to use that one?
Jason: *breaks into a dance* All night long, all night.
Stephanie: What is going on with you Jason? 
Tim: I know right? You don’t ever listen to Lionel Richie, let alone pop music.
Jason: It’s his fault! *points at Dick* Him and his stupid playlist!
Dick: “Don’t Speak” isn’t on my playlist though.
Jason: I ummmm...... radio.
Dick: *gasp* You listen to No Doubt!
Jason: No! Maybe!
Dick: O-M-G!
Jason: They’re a guilty pleasure! Now don’t mention it again.
Cassandra: Guys!!! What is The Last Airbender?
Duke: *starts to explain but Dick holds him back*
Jason: *to Damian and Cassandra* You poor depraved children.

Damian: You know what, screw it. This isn’t worth it.
Dick: NOOOO! Come on Dami, we can watch it all together, just the nine of us.
Duke: Yeah, come on Damian.
Stephanie: It’s a really great series Dami.
Cassandra: I mean I’m interested.
Tim: *turns his head towards Cassandra* We already knew you were on board. *turns his head back to Damian*
Damian: Fine, I’ll give your stupid show a chance.
Everyone: Yaaayyyyy!!!! *they all start to head down stairs when Dick gets an alert on his phone*
Dick: Actually, this is going to need to wait. Cass and Tim, come with me. I’ll alert Babs and Kate.
Jason: Why, what’s up?
Dick: There’s been a murder at Blackgate.
Batman, Batwoman, Batgirl, Red Robin, Orphan, and Commissioner Gordon
Jim: Batman and, wow there are a lot of you!
Batman: We want to try and get this over with as soon as possible.  
Jim: Very well. Victim is Julian Gregory Day, better known as Calendar Man. The body was found at 10:15. He left his cell at 10 to meet with the D.A. to talk about getting a reduced sentence. Both of the prison guards who were escorting Julian Day were knocked out during the attack. All of the camera’s were out, too.
Batwoman: The marks on his neck suggest that he was strangled and can’t quite tell but there’s something under his fingernails. He couldn’t have saw this coming but he definitely tried to put up a fight.
Batman: Okay, Batgirl and Orphan, lets have you head to the morgue with the diener and see if they could find out what’s under his finger nails. Batwoman, question Hugo Strange. Go through the audio files and see what you can find. Red Robin, you and I will see what any of the inmates in the cell block know. Jim, order your men to check the other camera monitors for anything suspicious.
Jim: I’m not one of your......
Batman: *glares at Jim Gordon*
Jim: I could figure out your identity any time I want. 
Batman: *smirks* Is that a promise?
Jim: It’s a door I’m willing to keep closed unless you cross the line.
Batwoman
Something she didn’t mention at the crime scene was that there was traces of reddish brown hair, so that points fingers at James Gordon Jr, Clock King, Edward Nigma, and Roxanne Sutton. Kate has her suspicions, but as of right now everyone is a suspect.
Hugo Strange: Hello Batwoman. How may I assist you?
Batwoman: I need to know about a few of your patients.
Hugo Strange: You know I can not tell you much I am.....
Batwoman: I am familiar with the confidentiality agreement. I need to know about Julian Day.
Hugo Strange: Poor guy. It’s a shame what happened to him. His most recent audio files are all yours. You’ll find the information you need in there.
Batwoman walked out of the room and began listening to the files in the secret Batcave in Blackgate.
Batgirl and Orphan
Batgirl: *walks into the door* Ugh, what is that smell?
Orphan: Rotting goat sex.
Batgirl: *burst out laughing* What?
Orphan: Rotting goat sex. 
Batgirl: What made you say that?
Orphan: Red Hood told me that’s the name of the yellow squares you put on sandwiches. The ones that go bad over time and smell like this room.
Batgirl: Okay, don’t listen to Red Hood anymore. It’s called cheese Orphan.
Orphan: Cheese. Okay. Got it.
Batgirl: So, how are you enjoying quarantine in the mansion.
Orphan: It’s not bad. Been sparring a lot. 
Batgirl: Who exactly? You’re not hurting my boyfriend right?
Orphan: Nope, but I kicked Helena’s butt a few times.
Batgirl: WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY!!!
Coroner: *walks out* Hey, so the.... Sorry, am I interrupting something.
Batgirl: No. Tell us about the body.
Coroner: Okay so prior to his death it seems the victim was drugged with a depressant. Obviously slowing his reactions. Underneath his fingernails are threads from the string that was used strangle him and some dead skin cells.
Batgirl: There’s not a lot of options for strings except for shoelaces, and unless someone has a very old shoelace, that means the string had to have come from outside the prison.
Coroner: Correct, the threads are definitely not made from the same material as the shoelaces.
Orphan: Anything else.
Coroner: Yes, there was some short white hairs found on his body which is odd, but probably from facial hair or eyebrows.
Batgirl: Thanks! Let us know when you have an idea who those skin cells belong to. *both Barbara and Cassandra start walking away* Tell Red Robin what we found out.
Orphan: But we’re supposed to report to Batman.
Batgirl: Fuck Batman.
Selina, Bruce, Lucius, and Alfred
At Wayne Tower
Bruce: *starring at his computer screen* If I buy this company, then I can buy a donut, and the cosmic donut will make me live forever, plus more profits, because three coffees plus one donut equals one Tim. *Lucius Fox knocks on the door* Do you want to build a snowman?!
Lucius: Mister Wayne, we need to talk.
Bruce: What is it Lucius?
Alfred: You’re overworking yourself.
Bruce: *looks up from his computer* Dad, I mean Alfred, Selina, what are you doing here?
Selina: No simple way to say it but this is an intervention.
Bruce: I don’t need an intervention.
Selina: Bruce, it’s been a bit over two months since quarantine began. You’re company is doing just fine. Don’t you think you deserve a break?
Bruce: With a little less help from Red Tim, I need to work as much as possible to get the cosmic coffee back on track. The hacker a few weeks back did a bit of damage.
Alfred: Master Bruce, even the Batman needs a break from time to time. Isn’t that the real reason you have Master Dick running around in the Batsuit instead of you?
Bruce: No! *Bruce takes a moment to think it all over* Partially.
Lucius: You are putting to much pressure on yourself. You keep on talking nonsense and are obviously sleep deprived.
Bruce: No! I’ve haven’t put enough pressure on myself since I became Batman. Once Batman came into the picture I didn’t focus on the company any longer. And I’m not sleep deprived, I’ve slept 4 hours last night! I’m getting more than enough sleep.
Lucius: You had more of an impact on the company then you think. If it weren’t for you acting as a real CEO, we wouldn’t be doing a going green initiative, there wouldn’t be a yearly fund going out to local orphanages, you created a functioning way for employees to work from home while increasing productivity. I can go on for hours about the positive things you have done as Bruce Wayne.
Selina: You have done so much. Come home, sleep. Enjoy time with you’re family.
Bruce: I can’t do that, I can do more. I can help other companies, too.
Alfred: I remember one time, it was when you turned 5, your father was supposed to be at the hospital. However, the day before he had worked all day to make his patients feel better, so he could spend the next day with you. He wouldn’t have missed your birthday even if it would cause the end of the world. Master Thomas knew the importance of taking time off to spend time with his family. It is time that you do the same.
Bruce begins to tear up. He reflects on how often his father worked day and night, but regardless how often he worked, he always had time for him and his mother. He knew his father loved him with all his heart. Then he thought of Alfred. He wasn’t really his father but Bruce always saw him as one after his parents died. Alfred loves him as much as he loves his own family. 
Bruce: *rolls his chair back and walks over to hug Alfred* Thank you Alfred.
Alfred: Anytime sir.
Batman, Batwoman, Batgirl, Red Robin, and Orphan
*In the Blackgate Batcave*
Batman: What did we find?
Orphan: The threads under Julian’s finger nails came from a string outside of the prison meaning that it could be one of the employees who’ve killed him. Skin cells under his nails are being scanned now, and white hairs were found on his body. Also cheese is not called goat sex.
Red Robin: WHAT! *Dick and Tim start laughing hysterically* 
Batman: Why would you think that!
Batgirl: Jason told her. That’s beside the point though.
Red Robin: *whispers to Dick* What did you do?
Batman: *whispers to Tim* I don’t know.
Batgirl: Stop whispering, we can all see you!
Batman: Got it. Kate what did you find?
Batwoman: Day was in an extreme state of paranoia before he died. Talks about how he was going to tell the D.A. about corruption in Blackgate.
Batman: Interesting, did he say anyone’s name?
Batwoman: It’s not clear, but I would assume so.
Batman: That makes sense. When Red Robin and I interviewed his cellmate, Drury Walker, he said he was starting to suspect something was going to happen. He had suspicions that James Jr. was going to kill him.
Batwoman: If I had to assume, I would say the same. I noticed a large sum of reddish brown hair at the scene where the body was found.
Batgirl: There was white hair found on the body though. With Day being strangled the killer would be close enough to possibly have a few hairs fall onto his body.
Batman: Do you have a sample?
Batgirl: Obviously.
Batman: Okay, I’ll program the computer to scan it. I know it’s not ideal but we’ll find out in twelve hours. Tim, Cass, and Kate, go update Commissioner Gordon. Babs, do you mind if we talk for a moment.
Batgirl: Sure, if you feel like doing so now.
Batman: *takes off the cowl and mask* What’s wrong? 
Batgirl: How could you not tell me Helena was staying at the mansion!
Batman: I didn’t want you to overreact.
Batgirl: How could I not! One of your ex girlfriends is sleeping under the same roof you are!
Batman: Look, this conversation is a bit more complicated than I anticipated so we’ll talk more about it later.
Batgirl: You know what, do yourself one better and just don’t talk to me at all. *Barbara places her mask back on as she storms out*
Red Robin: *sneaks out from behind a door* I swear I totally wasn’t eavesdropping, but that sounded like it could have gone better.
Batman: Yeah, it could have. *Dick than walks out pulling the cowl over his head and placing his mask back on*
Batman and Batwoman
Batman: *knocks on the door*
Hugo Strange: Hello Batman, Batwoman! How may I assist you?
Batman: We have some more questions to ask you.
Hugo Strange: Please, come inside!
Batman: How has James Jr. been doing in his sessions?
Hugo Strange: He has been doing very well! Obviously he had to spend a small period in solitary for killing his cellmates but he is getting better. If he is a prime suspect you may look into his files.
Batwoman: When did you two last meet?
Hugo Strange: Yesterday.
Batman: When did you two conspire the death of Julian Day?
Hugo Strange: I’m sorry, what are you talking about?
Batwoman: *grabs Hugo Strange by the shirt and lifts him* DON’T PLAY GAMES WITH US STRANGE! ANSWER THE QUESTION!
Hugo Strange: I swear I don’t know what you’re talking about!
Batman: We saw that you transferred Day to Gordon’s cell! He has killed every cellmate he’s had! You were sentencing him to death!
Batwoman starts to shake Hugo Strange violently until a gun shot is heard from across the room. 
Batgirl, Red Robin, and Orphan
James Jr.: Hey Batgirl! I see you’re walking again, isn’t that such a neat surprise.
Red Robin: Shut up, James!
Batgirl: James, we want to know what happened?
James Jr.: ..........
Batgirl: Answer my question asshat!
James Jr.: Whoa little sis... I want to stay I was told to shut up!
Batgirl: Do you realize what’s happening?
James Jr.: I’m being interrogated.
Batgirl: You’re going to be transferred to Arkham. If you confess your time there could be reduced! 
James Jr.: Fine... I confess...... I cut open your teddy bear and filled it with razor blades when we were kids.
Batgirl flips the table and pins James to the wall, punching him in the head multiple times. Orphan then runs in, trying to help Red Robin to get Batgirl to stop punching James Jr.
Batgirl: Rot in fucking Arkham for all I care! You should have been sent there to begin with!
Batgirl, Red Robin, and Orphan begin to walk out the door before James Jr. lying on the floor yells.
James Jr.: WAIT! It wasn’t me, I promise!
Batgirl: Doubtful.
James Jr.: Red Robin, come on. I know you’re going to give me a chance. Hear me out.
Red Robin: Batgirl, let’s give him.....
Batgirl: NO! HE HAD HIS CHANCE! HE DECIDED TO WASTE IT!
Orphan: Batgirl. Please.
Batgirl: *stops in the hallway* Fine.
A few minutes later Red Robin is in the interrogation room with James Jr. with Orphan.
Red Robin: James Jr. Did you kill Julian Day?
James Jr.: No.
Off in the distance they all hear the gunshot from Hugo Strange’s office.
James Jr.: And there’s my proof.
Batman, Batwoman, Batgirl, Red Robin, and Orphan
Red lines flow down Hugo Strange’s face as blood pours from the hole in his forehead. Batman and Batwoman turn around to see who fired the shot, and are shocked to see Eduardo Flamingo. Batwoman drops the dead body of Hugo Strange as Flamingo fires three shots at both Batman and Batwoman. Both are unfazed by this and punch him in the face, causing him to fall back on the floor.
Batman: *picks up Flamingo* Who hired you?
Eduardo Flamingo: *cough* You just watched him die.
The GCPD arrives to the room and arrest Flamingo.
Commissioner Gordon: Freeze! You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you.
He had confessed to everything. The murders, the contract Hugo Strange offered him to kill Day. No details was left out. By the time they all left the prison it was 12:30 in the morning.
Batman: Batgirl, let’s talk. 
Batgirl: I don’t want to talk.
Batman: Babs, if you won’t talk, then listen, please? *tears start to fill his eyes and make their way down his mask*
Batgirl: If anything, you listen to me *tears streak down her mask as well* I don’t know where I stand in this situation, and right now I really don’t care! For the time being don’t talk to me. *she takes out her grappling hook and leaves the four other members just standing there*
Batwoman: I’m not going to get too involved in this, but you know if you need to talk Dick, let me know.
Batman: Thank you.
The two hug and then go their separate ways.
Dick and Barbara
When they got home, Dick reached for his phone and started to text Barbara. He tried to explain how he never knew Helena was going to show up. How she showed up out of nowhere. How she is his everything, his world, and he doesn’t blame her for being skeptical but he still loves her. 
Barbara doesn’t want to read a word of Dick’s excuses. This has happened before when Dick was dating Koriand’r and Zatanna. Even before they were in a relationship, she knew he at one point was seeing multiple girls at a time. She doesn’t know if he is really sleeping with Helena behind her back, but she knows that she can’t trust Dick for the time being.
After his shower he walked to his room where he saw Helena laying on his bed in her costume. She then tosses his Nightwing costume at him.
Helena: Hey Dick, how about you throw that on and we do a bit of role play.
Dick: Cool, I’m into that. I’ll be Nightwing, the guy who loves Batgirl so much, and you’ll be Huntress, who sleeps on the first floor. You’re going to leave my room and I’ll lock my door for the rest of the night.
Helena: Rough night, lover?
Dick: I told you to stop calling me that.
Helena: I know, but I love it.
Dick: Helena, please just leave.
Dick just lied on his bed staring at his phone, wishing that Barbara would text him back. Fifteen minutes later he hears a knock at his door.
Bruce: Hey Dick! Are you okay?
Dick: What is this? Am I dreaming?
Bruce: No. I heard what happened. Just know if you ever want to talk about it, you can come to me. 
Dick: Thanks Bruce!
Bruce: Want to watch Avatar as a family? Damian told me how you talked him into watching it. I think it’s a fun idea!
Dick: *smirks* Sure!
They both walk downstairs to the media room as they see everyone down there already. He noticed Helena was sitting at the far end of the room so Dick considered sitting by Tim and Stephanie who seemed to have been chatting it up, but decided against it and sat near Damian. 
Dick: *leans over towards Damian*
Damian: Don’t you even think about it Grayson!
Dick: *wraps his arms around Damian* Come on, you know you love my hugs!
Damian: I will cut off your arms in your sleep,
Dick: You’re so adorable when you think you’re threatening.
The episode begins to play and everyone fell silent. As the second one ended everyone looked at Cassandra and Damian to get their reaction.
Cassandra: That was awesome!!! Let’s watch one more!
Damian: It is surprisingly entertaining. A little silly but intriguing.
Jason: WE KNEW YOU WOULD LIKE IT SUCKER!
Tim: One of the greatest shows ever!

I’m writing this fic about the Batfamily and I’m afraid of writing them as OOC. If you are able to, could you please give some tips on each of the Batfam’s personalities and characteristics? To specify, Dick, Jason, Tim, Steph, Cass, Babs, Damian, and Duke are the characters I’m using. It would be really helpful! Thank you!!
This is a tricky question, because I don’t know the story of your fic to help you in any specific way. So if after this you wanna DM me for more specific help on how to work things out, I’ll be there to help you right away unless I’m doing something, but I have no plans.
I’m going to go from easiest for me to do to least easiest, because I obviously know Tim the best, but even then, it’s hard, because going off the character’s you are choosing, it’s set during the part of the timeline were he went OOC, but I’ll do my best just to say his general character so you can use that as a base for things. Like how he was developed in his origin and all that, and notable characteristics he’s had as he grew while still in character. With some that even if they weren’t around with some of those characters, would apply to them.
His is also going to be the longest, like way too long, because he’s a way more nuanced and complex character than anyone ever gives him credit for. So he takes a lot longer to explains by a freaking large margin. Like sorry if it’s too big, I just kept saying more as more came to mind because I feel like his nuances are what makes him interesting and easy to right. Once you get a hang of his nuances, and you get used to it, it makes it easier to put yourself into his mindset to how he works, which makes him easier to write as well.
(THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY LONG POST, AND I APOLOGIZE. I just really wanted to be thorough and give contexts to stuff. It’s less of tips and more of an overly long description of what I know about each character and what’s in-character and what’s not going off of how the character’s were developed to be, and not counting the out of character writing. So really sorry about this being so freaking long)
Tim:
Tim’s origin right off the back is having met Dick at a very very young age, I don’t think he could even strongly walk yet, so I’mma say three. He was instantly attached to Dick, he just admired him instantly just for giving him affection. He was his hero. But he was also there the day Dick’s parents died, which traumatized Tim and gave him nightmares for years. But being able to remember that night so thoroughly, he remembered a specific move that Dick could do that very few could, and that’s how he found out Dick was Batman, and logically, Bruce Wayne was Batman.
There’s a large misconception that as a little kid, Tim followed Batman and Robin around, but that was not the case. At least not physically and literally followed them around. Closest being when I believe he happened to come across Batman in his origin story, and purposely did his best detective work to figure out where Dick would be.
As shown several times but most strongly in his origin, but wasn’t as strong the more he went on, he’s sort of socially oblivious to what’s considered normal or not, or what other people are thinking of him.
For instance he just knocked on Starfire’s and Dick’s apartment, asked Kori (Starfire) if Dick was home because he needed his help, and when she said no, just bolted even when Kori asked his name. Just concerning the crap out of her. Even when he first met Dick, he just wouldn’t say his name because “NO TIME”, he just squirmed around place to place on his bike being completely oblivious of himself. In his first miniseries he searches up information on Clyde (a former government agent he saved and befriends) that he shouldn’t have, unaware that that’d obviously be crossing a line for some people. Even taking his girlfriend to a car show, where there was a lot of bikini models around, and it didn’t even occur to him what it’d look like he was there for. He was just genuinely bubbly to see the cars.
He doesn’t do any of those sorts of things out of malice, he’s always just presented as being incredibly oblivious of himself quite a bit. Most likely from not having his parents around that much as his childhood progressed, and typically just living in boarding schools, or with a nanny. So he didn’t really developed right as one interpretation, and another being (that was actually almost confirmed if it wasn’t for Tim getting a writer before another could say it) is that he’s on the Autism spectrum. Which is technically verified, as he has many symptoms of Asperger’s. But that isn’t technically canon, as it never got to be officially said. But it’s valid enough.
Tim’s main strength is his detective work, he also knows how to use a computer to his advantage. Many modern comics act as if Tim is a master hacker who could hack into anything. But he actually mostly used them for detective work, and small hack jobs, some of which he failed. He seemed to have learned more about hacking from Barbara, or at least some what implied, as Babs let him help her build a big computer, or something of that sort.
He also took karate as a kid, and is implied to have also taken gymnastics. It’s stated that he’s actually really good at gymnastics by Alfred in Tim’s origin, but his fighting skills, despite the karate lessons he had previously taken, isn’t as good as the others. Hence his staff, and having to be clever in how he goes about a fight.
How Tim operates as far as emotionally or mentally depends too. Sometimes he’ll go straight from the heart and get himself in trouble, but other times he’ll take his time to really plan something out for himself on the spot. It depends on how his emotions are at the time. If he was just picked on or beat up, he’ll be more agitated, and if something really really bad that happened, he just go so far in he just beats the crap out of everyone as bad as he can. As shown by trying to apprehend someone that shot someone he knew at school, or Batman betraying his trust (in an honestly out of character story). If he’s calmer though, or at least doing his best to be, he’ll use his brain more before he starts. I think his talents in planning have been overstated for ages, because while he’s good at it, he’s not exactly the greatest or overall good. Just enough to work fine enough to get the job done.
One of his biggest mental weakness’s, is his constant insecurity. Somethings that’s so constantly on his mind is letting someone down, rather it be Batman or his dad Jack, or even Nightwing, or his team. The reason why Tim acted so different and more of a seriously brooding personality in Young Justice, was because he was so insecure about not having powers that he thought he had to push himself to his limits. So he used some Batman leadership tactics, and fought harder than he ever fought before just to seem like he was even worth having around. When by himself though, it’s more of a sadness, an upset feeling in his gut. Tim has anxiety about things, rather or not he’s good enough. He’s not a super confident person when it comes to himself. He doesn’t think much of him.
One editorial person answering fan questions in the back of comics as they used to, even described Tim as meek. He doesn’t brag or think much of himself as super according to it.

He’s also stated and shown to be internally scared quite a bit, even shaking when he first got his own Robin suit. Another occasion saying the cold water might excuse his shivering. Which goes along with his anxiety.
Another thing about him that is more low-key and not as noticed, is how Tim, even though he clearly thinks of himself as a kid, heck even the letter column above says so, he has also said since being Robin he’s never had time to be a kid. But he is also still a kid.
As they specified his voice a bit more, he tended to use heck, Holy crud, dang, fudge, weenie, and even Pus Bucket (a reference to Ghost Busters) as his choice of cussing (if that even remotely counts).
And even if it’s not noticeable at first, is shown as having a secret teddy bear that he kept hidden under his mattress so I assume no one would see it.

He’s also a pretty innocent kid despite what all he sees. His mind doesn’t go to the gutter. He trusts people far faster than he should, even trusting Lady Shiva, the world’s most dangerous woman and know criminal right away.

It also goes along with his social obliviousness. This stuff being rounded into not having any street smarts, which was a main theme for Tim directly in his first miniseries. As well as being naive.
Of course as life went on that wasn’t the case as much, but in the above screenshot, Dana (his step-mom) is saying that as Tim is already 16.
Tim in-general also being a super hero fanboy. As a kid he watched the news, clipped out the papers on them, collected, and even drew his own Batman art (and potentially) others to put on his wall.
Tim’s general behavior while socializing also depends on his emotions at the time. He’s normally very nice and friendly, when not super depressed or down on himself he’s bubbly. But he’s also still a kid, he can pout when he’s hurt, and passive aggressive to people he doesn’t like. Examples being, literally not listening to a jock that picks on his friends, an over-arrogant jerk he met in France, and even Steph because she kept being reckless and flirting with him when he didn’t like it.
Nothing straight up insults, but just generally passive aggressive, give them a clue he doesn’t like them very much even if it never worked. He just wants them to go away, unless they’re a straight up bully. Tim, if it’s no one he specifically knows that will invade his personal life, will beat up bullies. He really can’t stand a bully.
Another thing about Tim is that even though he’s an introvert typically, he’s also not very shy. A shy kid wouldn’t travel miles on a bike (and I freaking hope busses) to meet someone he barely knows because he believes in Batman needing a Robin. He also stands up to bullies, and unless he’s really uncomfortable could talk to about anyone. He even slept in only his briefs and undershirt in the house of someone he doesn’t know, with two people he also barely knows. With that example also probably adding up to the socially oblivious part of his personality.
As far as his relationships go, he canonically thinks of the Bat-Family as his family. Dick calls Tim his little brother, Babs treats Tim as her baby brother as well as acting like his/ Aunt/ Mom depending on the situation (I think Tim fell asleep on her couch after eating pizza while using his cape as a blanket and drooling. So Mom’s a stretch but still), Bruce is his distant but still father figure, Alfred is his grandpa (who he actually plays video games with), even Cass to an extent treating Tim as a baby brother as well.
He is very much the baby of the family. And Tim talks to them about personal stuff (bar Cass cause he was scared of her in the beginning), most of them from Alfred and Dick, to the mute hunchback in the Batcave Harold (who is a real character and I love him). He was always collecting advice from where ever he could get it.

He’s also intensely morally operated. He hates killing. He said he took an oath to let himself be killed before ever killing, getting PTSD from feeling responsible for a death, and even crying when he had genuinely thought Bruce killed someone.
As far as how he tries to present himself, he is constantly doing his best to take everything as seriously as he can, even shunning himself when he starts to stop taking things as serious, he wants to be seen as serious, trustworthy, and reliable desperately so he doesn’t let anyone down. He is constantly hard of himself, and is always trying to be what he thinks Batman wants him to be. Which is were a lot of his anxieties from. Even trying to think of what Batman or Dick would do because he regards them so highly. Even calling Bruce the great man he’s ever known I believe during one of his post-origin pre-Robin appearances.
He’s naive and oblivious of himself, as well as childish in some areas (I think his nanny yelled at him once for it), but overall what he tries to hardest at is taking everything seriously as possible, and using his brain as much as he can. He may not be the most mature, often actually handling situations very immaturely, but he does his best to at least seem like he’s mature, and to an extent he actually can be genuinely very mature, or at least as much as a naive oblivious child can be.
Dick:
This ones a lot shorter probably, because I don’t read him as much, but still have a good handle on him.
I think he’s a character very few always write correctly, because they ride too much into the friendly, compassionate guy. Which, compassion being his main motivator in how he goes about as much as he can, and he’s incredibly friendly, he’s also a very angsty and angry person deep down.
He’s a perfectionist, a trait fics tend to give to Tim more, but actually belongs to Dick. He gets really hard on himself when he thinks he messed something up badly, having nightmares over it, he doesn’t like himself when he messes up something badly. And even if he’s not a naturally angry person, when he is angry, he can be VERY VERY angry.
And until Batman writers in the early 00s started it, I wouldn’t even had considered him all that chatty. He had some jokes in him, was very light hearted when not in distress or mad, but as he was developed by Marv Wolfman, who basically created the Dick that has remained the base for him ever since, he was relatively a generally calm guy when he wasn’t emotional.
He was polite, a charming guy, the type of person you want to bring home to your parents basically. He dressed well. Did his best to keep people accommodated. 
He wasn’t a goofy, constant jokester that’d talk your ear off or keep begging for hugs. 
He’s not that kind of guy. He’s just a gentlemen.
He’s also not that much of a thot. He’s a “wait till it’s right” sort of guy when it comes to sex.
He’d do anything in the world he could to make sure his friends felt right too, and that they were okay.
But all this doesn’t mean he’s not just a one note personality. Depending on how bad he feels like he messed up, he’ll distance himself from people, stop caring as much about his appearance, get more violent and mean. He also doesn’t take well to Batman’s nonsense, he’s probably the person he got specifically mad at the most. He didn’t like the way Batman went about stuff after a while. He had complicated feelings towards him.
Despite people nowadays just thinking of Dick being Batman’s son officially, adopted, end of. That wasn’t exactly their relationship. Dick had a complicated relationship with Bruce. Part of him looked at Bruce as a big brother, and another half a dad, and he wasn’t even adopted, just a ward. Something that Dick was actually quite insecure about, till apparently he got adopted as a grown adult man (which I dunno is true or an edit, but I’ve seen it somewhere).
Dick’s relationship with Tim is pure big bro baby bro. He was very protective of Tim, calling him the closest thing to a brother he ever had, and little brother, before they were ever even officially brothers. He’d push Tim out of the way in times of big trouble, make him stand back, ruffled his hair all the time, and loved teasing him. But when they started off, Dick just sort of thought Tim was a weird annoying kid, given that Tim was acting so screwy during his origin, Dick really didn’t know what to make of him, but the closer they got, they got very very close. Dick cared a lot about Tim a ton once they got accommodated. Tim would even call Dick on the phone just to talk to him about anything from his day to his problems. Tim could count on Dick to help when ever he could. Tim was Dick’s dweebie baby brother who he took care of when needed. Even teaching Tim how to wash clothes personally since Tim didn’t have a clue. 
I don’t think him and Jason really had a relationship. He gave him a number to talk about stuff like Robin angst, and a few pics show they hanged out at least once or twice, but nothing suggests they were close. It seems like Dick was hard on himself, because Jason died before they could get close. After the Red Hood, Dick’s just kind of a-- dick to Jason, and Tim was too, but I don’t consider that in-character. Neither Tim nor Dick would be even remotely okay about the killing, but I can’t picture them treating him like he’s a joke and less than trash. Too much emotional baggage there. Tim would be distant to Jason, and Dick would be uncomfortable and conflicted. That’s my guesses on a more accurate relationship.
Dick’s always had a really big crush on Babs ever since he was a kid to the point they were stuck in a small area together and Dick lost dignity over-- I dunno, puberty effecting him. There’s no way I can put that that’s comfortable. But Dick has a crush on Babs, that got put into a romantic relationship both ways when they aged down Babs, but for some people the relationship is relatively gross because of the age gap, and feeling the need to age down a character like Babs, who just looked at Dick like a kid, to just date him. It’s complicated, and I dunno enough about them besides that exactly. I’m not the guy to ask on that.
He doesn’t have a proper relationship with either Duke or Steph, but it doesn’t seem like Dick’s ever been the fondest of Steph. And Duke’s new, and they only ever been around each other in fan service moments. So I don’t think he has a real actual relationship with Duke.
Dick and Cass despite I don’t think ever being shown much together, also had a sweet relationship. With Dick doing his best to make sure his sister (before she was adopted, but Dick treated her as one nevertheless much like Tim as Dick’s baby brother) was comfortable, acting goofy, and to  me coming across as if he’s always really wanted a sister. But they weren’t super close, but there’s enough there to say that they easily could become close.
Dick and Damian was mentor mentoree, and to a large extent Dick was Damian’s father figure as Bruce was dead. As written by Damian’s creator, Dick didn’t seem to like Damian at all in the beginning, but as Dick could realize and understand his responsibilities more, they did gain a closer bond. Dick would put Damian in line (besides when bad writers were too afraid to make Damian seem like he’s in the wrong fully), sometimes even the hard way, and could be very proud of him. They aren’t big bro little bro like how some current writers act for pandering purposes. But they did grow to be close, even if Damian’s naturally really emotionally distant. Dick always wanted the best for Damian, even if he couldn’t always handle it the right way or knew what to do. He was a guy in his early to mid 20s with the responsibilities of reraising a 10 year old kid that was raised and abused by a cult, who can blame him.
Damian
I’m kind of just getting Damian out of the way, because to be frank, he’s been a really crappily written character since his origin, because he personality just absolutely switches between every writer, and he’s just so badly written that way.
But I’ll go off of what I believe to be what his writer wanted, since that’s the most accurate you can get.
Damian was raised and abused in a cult. That dictates a lot of how he thinks.
He was not close to his mother (which is out of character for Talia, and they later switched that after the reboot, but to be frank if Talia was always in-character Damian wouldn’t exist as we know him. He’d be a total different person and character). And he seemed to despise the way his dad goes about things. He seemed very indifferent and had his mood set to angry in general when he first met.
Which made it all the weirder when an issue later Damian seems to want his parents to be together, despite making it clear he doesn’t even like or think much of either one of them at all.
He was also very entitled, because despite being treated as an experiment some of the time, he was also treated as a prince the other half of the time. He thought the world was his, and he deserved everything.
He nearly killed Tim because he thought he deserved being Robin, as Tim was just adopted and not a “real” son. Seemingly he thought that was what he had to do to have his dad accept him and treat him as he thought he should.
He also seems to think he’s above Jason as well.
He’s also shown as sexist and homophobic.
He was brash and reckless about everything. Had a talented in just about everything just because of how he was raised, and goes off on his own to do stuff, because I assume he thinks everyone else holds him back.
After Dick though, Damian learned to not be a murderer (which I also think he might’ve learned before cause he wants to live with Bruce, It’s a little weird and not given enough time to actually be developed fully in an easy to digest way. Which is another reason why I think he’s such a poorly written character), also more reserved, and reckless.
As he was originally intended, he was very tall and not cute. His height being around 5′2 to 5′4 at age 10. Meaning he was an inch taller than Tim was at 13 when Damian was 10 off of that first one, and only an inch shorter than Tim at the age he  met him, where Tim was 17 going on 18. It may not be drawn that way, but you also have to remember this is 00s and beyond era DC Comics were Tim despite being described as looking 12 got drawn as big as Dick sometimes. Don’t always use the art to go off of certain information. I say he wasn’t intended to be cute, because there’s a scene were he was at a gala, where a woman clearly wanting to gold-dig Gotham City’s most eligible Bachelor Bruce Wayne by getting close to her son, but she immediately backed away when she saw him.
Which sounds harsh, but Damian’s also basically the “anti-Robin”, he was everything a Robin wasn’t meant to be and he was intended to just die and that’s it. Hence why he was with Dick to keep the Batman and Robin dynamic intact, just in reverse. As you can see, they completely forgot what made Damian interesting when his character gained some consistency with his creator.
Damian’s development was that he grew a actual caring heart even if he still carried the generally same personality. He was dismissive of people, sexually harassed Steph, was generally anti-social-esque. 
And honestly because every writer after (even the one everyone seems to think is his best writer, which I massively agree times a billion and infinite more) just kept reverting him, again and again, even when they wrote stories with character development, it was gone again. And applied a whole bunch of traits that aren’t like Damian in the slightest, so if you pay attention. Ya can tell Damian’s not Damian, he’s literally not even a shell of his self. They just painted another one to look kind of like him, and even then they don’t do that because he freaking looks completely different some of the time. They botched him so much.
But that was the main thing about Damian. 
I think one reason he got close to Dick and no one else was because Damian from his origin (no matter how poorly written they showed it), always wanted to have a proper parent. Which it seemed he could never have. And Dick grew to serve that purpose, as Dick was the one teaching him lessons, and making sure he was actually safe.
But of course later on DC Comics literally forgot everything that was letting him slowly become a better character. So that sucks.
I partially came into this fandom because of Damian. So when I actually got to read him, I was so freaking miserable after. I genuinely wanted to like him so bad, even voicing that to people I was chatting too as I read the comics, but I literally just couldn’t see why anyone cared for his comics. I don’t think any of them are fully well-written.
But it did help me grasp what Damian’s suppose to be like as I could tell what he’s suppose to be and not suppose to be, much like how I learned about Tim’s actual personality vs the one writers that don’t care about him write.
Steph
Just doing this one to get a more negatively centered one out of the way, because I struggle to find any personality traits I deem actually likable when put under context.
Because she’s full of her self, reckless, cynical, more or less sexually harassed Tim, kissing him against his wishes (and before ya say Tim did that first. it’s a little less offensive when Tim didn’t do it sexually or romantically. That was just for a dumb trope. A reward kiss. It’s still gross, but it’s a different context that’s less directly offensive), goes behind people’s backs sometimes, can be emotionally abusive, and shows signs of physically abusive.
So I don’t exactly find her super likable. And her spot in the Bat-Family was so contrived, that often nowadays I just don’t pay attention her anymore, but in fairness a lot of that’s just cause she has crazy stans that start fights that were barely there, be hypocritical, and group bully folks. So it’s relatively hard for me to wanna look at her these days.
But to be more specific before she seems like an actual freaking demon woman or what ever. Some of that doesn’t come across as bad compared to what it could be. Besides the emotional abuse, that was just a thing and the comics and people just elected to ignore it even though that was written by her creator.
She’s reckless in a way where she clearly doesn’t have proper training to make sure no one or herself gets hurt. She’s been shown causing herself to get hurt or underestimate stuff. She also doesn’t listen to people that know more about what they do, and she usually relies on luck to get by.
She’s full of herself, because she more or less says she’s an adrenaline junkie, and might just be beating up bad guys because she finds it really fun and exciting. She likes the thrill. And tries to put a title of super hero on herself sometimes, because she tries to seem heroric as she does it. She also does it to make up for her dad, which is more admirable, but behavior wise and focus wise it’s more pinned on her just being an adrenaline junkie.
She also just constantly just flirt with Tim even when he didn’t want it. Which is what sexual harassment is. She also kissed him for her own satisfaction twice, once nearly getting them both killed cause people were shooting at them, and another as them and other people were close to freezing to death because they were stuck under snow. That kind of behavior able to be under sexual assault given the context for her kisses was just for herself. Even the time she tried to say it was to make up for Tim’s reward kiss, she quickly makes it obvious it was just because she’s very sexually attracted to him.
She also just nearly lets criminals die a lot because “What’s one more life”, and seems to not care much for the lesson of not killing, specifically her dad. Like she still has the moral standard not to kill, but compared to the others it’s not one she takes as serious. She learned her lesson on being cynical, but it’s still ingrained in her personality.
I also have a whole very long post on why her relationship with Tim doesn’t work, and how she was abusive. I don’t feel like going over that again but that’s a thing.
Besides Tim she has no real relationship with the others besides Cass, which is another relationship I don’t fully understand, because Steph borderline insults her, and Cass thinks she gets in the way so much she just fractures Steph’s jaw to knock her out. They gave them some admittedly cute moments, but it’s never felt right to me. Always felt forced and pandery, but it’s a thing. They’ve played tag each other, and talked about how both of their parents are abusive.
She also had one with in Batgirl, but the best I can describe that is, she helps Steph so she doesn’t hurt herself, and she can be pretty gruff sometimes, but is also caring. it’s just kind of a been there done that sort of thing.
A lot of Batgirl is sort of forced. Bat-Family has reasonable criticisms of her, writer does something to make them more unlikable so readers still like Steph, Steph proves them wrong, they respect her. It’s a formula for a few stories in her Batgirl run.
People have also said her and Damian have a sibling relationship, but I don’t agree with that. Damian sexually harassed her and kept looking at her boobs. Damian had a crush on her, but he was also a stubborn entitled jerk to her. Steph just got back at Damian by making him dress as a normal kid to embarrass him, and when she saw Damian never played before got him to jump on a bouncy castle. Besides generic banter that’s about it. And given Damian’s personality, they never did anything like that bouncy castle thing again. It’s a really big stretch to call that sibling-like. And even the stuff you could stretch is still doesn’t pay attention to the Damian talking about her boobs constantly thing. Parts of it was just pandery, as a lot of that Batgirl run was.
So I don’t overall have a good opinion of her. She’s perseverance and doesn’t give up, and won’t take no for an answer, but given the context it’s not in a good way besides saving Tim’s and others lifes a few times.
Babs
Despite having read her a lot I don’t know her a lot, because she’s typically always the other character in things. The lady that gets the information.
So I only know a few things about her.
She has the perseverance and won’t take no traits, but in a more positive context. She has no use of her legs but that doesn’t stop her from fighting crime and helping people.
She’s a serious, and mature personality. Every case is very seriously to her, besides a few Tim got into because they were just very goofy.
She can also joke a lot. She has a very teasing personality in her as well. Especially with Tim, she seemed to find Tim really cute and loved teasing him.

I pretty much only have panels of her and Tim besides a rare few maybe, cause as I said she’s mostly a side character helping out.
I have read Birds of Prey but that was possible a year or two ago, and I didn’t really pay attention so I’m not as sure.
She’s very leaderly, and will direct the traffic so to say. She’s a magnificent detective and hacker. Stands up for herself. Inquisitive. Her mind always seems to be thinking of the next thing to think about.
She’s a character I can’t talk about as well without it being one dimensional.
Cass
Cass is another character I don’t have the best grasp on but been trying to learn because she’s probably my second favorite Batkid even if I don’t understand her as strongly. But I do get a lot of her basic personality, and a bit of the nuances, even if I’m not ultra confident on it yet.
She’s quirky, she knows how to tease, but she can also be a bit objective based unless she’s bored it seems, like she does watch TV, but when she has a goal she will not stop until the goal is done. She’s a fully compassionate person as well, she sees little kid needing help, she helps little kid.
Also given her upraising she can be more socially oblivious than anyone else, even Tim. She’s walked around an apartment she was sharing with others butt naked. I think she accidentally flirted with Babs (not a shippy thing, it’s a, Cass said a thing she didn’t understand thing), because she couldn’t tell the difference between a platonic thing and cheesy romantic thing as she watched TV. 
She doesn’t always listen. She will just beat by her own drum unless she believes in something someone else said more.
Given her mind wasn’t raised to be socializing, a lot of this stuff makes sense and is kind of obvious when you think about it.
Cass can also be very stubborn when she has a goal, even when it’s against someone else’s wishes.
She’s mostly been a loner by herself, but she has grown to seem to genuinely like having company around to bond with.
She’s been shown being protective of Tim. Literally carrying him out of a fight zone.
Babs’s is more or less her mom.
Dick and Steph’s I’ve described before.
Distant with Alfred, but Alfred will occasionally drop by to help out. They’re still carrying if they aren’t as connected as others.
Not gonna lie I can’t remember her relationship with Bruce.
But that’s some of the basics and slight nuances of Batgirl. I’m still in the early part of learning about her. So I’ll probably understand her more later on. I genuinely really like her though. I like how she isn’t a one dimensional character like some writers make her out to be. She’s genuinely really fun to read.
Jason
I actually know Jason quite a bit because I made a big long post about his time as Robin (post-crisis only, not counting the scripts written before the 80s reboot, or anything inconsistent).
He’s anti-authority, angry, cusses, smokes, violent, murderous tendencies, aggressive, but also has a genuine heroic spirit, is appreciative of the opportunities he was able to have, loved being able to learn especially, had insecurities, and a lot of his violence was in the name of being a more aggressive way of justice. He’d never hurt an innocent.
A lot of this is explain by the fact he was raised on the streets more or less.
When ever he got especially violent was because of a bad guy hurting or killing an innocent or committing abusive acts of any sort. He probably seen a lot of bad stuff on the streets and doesn’t handle it.
He’s pretty decently cynical because of thinking that’s the best way to deal with it.
He was also moody, but after his upbringing that’s to be expected, and unlike what some thinks, Batman was actually understanding and did his best to help Jason back even if he didn’t get it as first.
Jason isn’t a villain, he is a pure anti-hero, he wants to help, he loves to help, when he feels like he should help he does. He just has his own way of doing it that lots don’t agree with.
When he became the Red Hood, all of this stuff just became amplified because of the traumatic event he went through and the feeling of not being avenged and abandoned again.
Where as before he’d nearly kill people, he outright does now with even left empathy. He had a sack of decapitated head once just so other criminals knew he wasn’t playing around. 
However his moodiness came out in different ways. He was actually a very calm, chill personality as the Red Hood, until his traumas got poked at, where he’d go back into his angry bitter ways, but to a more unstoppable way. He’d be more violent, more angry, more inconsolable, more unstable.
As the Red Hood, he is a very far ahead planner and tactition. People always call Tim the planner, but to me Jason is the planner and tactition of the group. He had a large plan that took a while to do, but caused him to accomplish a lot in a short time. Tim does it in the moment or moments before and does a fine enough job, but he isn’t a good leader. Dick is a good planner tactition and leader, but it can also just be shortly before he does something. Jason thinks very far ahead and how people will react and think, how to get under their skin, what will piss them off, what will give him what he once etc.
When he’s not unstable, he’s calm and collected, and is always trying to get under people’s skin. Not in a large over the top way, but just a bit. In an almost charming sort of way. A sly way. He pokes buttons when he’s calm and collected.
As to be expected his relationship with the Bat-Family is complicated. He’s mostly just in the Bat-Family almost purely because of his past in it, more than what he is currently. He’s more of a loner type that will get help when needed, but until the New 52 said otherwise, he’s not much of a team player as he mostly works by himself.
Bat-Family wants him to get better, but at the same time I think they recognize it’s gonna take a lot for Jason to get better, and since Jason is dangerous it creates a lot of overwhelming feelings. Bruce is upset at himself and is almost grieving Jason all over again, Dick has regrets he never had a chance to know him till then, and Tim’s relationship has been so varied and never really felt right, I’d say  most likely Tim would be scared of Jason, and upset at him. Jason was a Robin that killed. Going off of how Tim reacted to thinking Batman killed, he’d probably be genuinely miserable at the thought of what Jason became, and be distant from him.
Jason is sly and hard to read unless he’s emotional.
Duke
Duke is the hardest to say anything for, because he’s the newest, most obscure (even tho he is gaining quick prominence), and so therefore has less to go off of. Not helped by a lot of writers making him very two dimensional at best a lot of the time.
He is a natural leader, a dare-devil, very willing to put his life on the line at any time, and passionate and almost stubborn about helping people. He wants to save people, and he’s always wanting to help, because he wants to make his neighborhood a better place.
And that’s almost all I can say, because having read his mini-series he doesn’t have many character traits, and WE ARE ROBIN, where he was introduced and I got that from was short lived.
He’s only with the other Batkids when they really wanna pander, so I can’t even accurately say anything, and the few times you could make a guess it’s not in-character for the other. So he’s just hard to tell. Besides Cass.
I think he’d naturally get along with Bruce, Dick, and Tim, and he’s shown being closest to Cass in the Outsiders series. Considering Cass a sister I believe. They console in each other, care about each other, worry about each other, and look after each other. That’s the closest relationship he has.
But it’s hard to say a lot for him.

To be blunt I can’t say with full accuracy because there’s so many inconsistencies plus reboots.
But I’ll go into oldest to youngest, because some don’t realize some ages.
Dick, was 21 when Tim was 13
Jason was 18 when Tim was 15
Cass is the same age if not older than Jason
Steph is two years older than Tim
I believe Duke is around the same age as Steph
and Tim and Damian’s ages off of that is pretty obvious.

Hey I was wondering if you know the official order of bruce gaining all the kids including harper, Barbara, and stephanie? I know its Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian but where does the other 3 and duke and cass fall in? Tia!!
So I’m gonna assume that you mean the order in which they get adopted, since finding First Appearances is one of the easier things to google for any character. (Getting First Appearance issues afterall is part of the reason some comics retain their value, so it’s usually well documented when a character first shows up. Side note: DCUguide is an excellent resource if you’re looking to comb through appearances for characters, although I’d also recommend asking for reading lists from other fans, since usually those have been curated down to essential storylines only)
I tried to provide actual issue #s where I could, but a lot of the time in comics, it’s usually something that’s dropped or hinted around or casually mentioned rather than outright boldly stated.
Also some of these characters span DECADES and their histories change depending on continuity. So I tried to account for that where I could.
But also canon is fake and everyone in fandom cherry-picks anyways so yknow. Keep THAT in mind too.
Before we dive into this, I wanna have a quick convo on what Legal Guardianship vs Adoption is.
While guardianship includes some of the same responsibilities as adoption, it also comes with a few key differences, such as allowing any living parents (also possibly any living relatives) to contest the guardianship. Adoption would make the child fully and solely the potential parent’s responsibility, and would nullify any legal ‘say’ that the biological parents may have. Also of note, is that  guardianship does not allow the child in question a claim to inheritance unless the guardian specifically wills it to them, as there is again, a bit more of distance that is placed between the child and guardian, as more of a mentorship is expected to take hold. One way to look at it is that adoption is permanent (& usually a longer drawn out process bc of that), while guardianship can be more legally flexible.
With that out of the way, let’s start~
Dick: pre-flashpoint/52, it’s stated often that Dick was actually Bruce’s ward, that Bruce has legal guardianship over Dick. I know this is a nitpick and doesn’t matter bc it’s usually retconned/ignored in favor of Dick being adopted. But I think it’s a fascinating point of potential contention nonetheless. especially given the historical reason, that it was absolutely unheard of at the time for a single man to adopt a child, but no one would bat at eye if he was taking Dick in out of a sense of altruism & duty. Contract this with decades later, when he DOES appear to adopt Jason outright, which puts some friction in place between Dick & Bruce. and well, you’ve got a whole story & conflict to explore right there.
Barbara: Usually dons the Batgirl cowl after Dick becomes Robin (the only exception to that was The Batman (2004) cartoon and it was absolutely galaxy brain of them honestly) She has her own Dad though (idk if y’all know him? Jim Gordon? Yknow? The Commissioner?) so she doesn’t get adopted. She’s considered a core batfam member mostly in the sense that she’s been there so long and esp as she makes herself absolutely essential when she becomes Oracle. She has never, and will likely never be adopted by Bruce (bc again. W h e n is that gonna come up? When Jim dies? L m f a o)
Jason: pre-crisis it’s assumed from the go I guess? I could only find slight confirmation and ended up finding more info that there was a custody battle and that Bruce would won Jason back officially in Detective Comics #548. post-crisis, Jason’s history is redone, though & I remember his adoption being touched on, but could not for the life of me find a particular issue. N52/Rebirth it’s simply assumed from the go as far as I’m aware.
Tim: Batman #654. This was after his father died, though he’d been Robin at this point for at least a decade. For n52/Rebirth as far as I can tell he’s also been outright adopted by Bruce (though I think he’s parents were still alive but in Witness Protection? Idk. I haven’t read at all for Tim’s history there so take that with a heavy grain of salt)
Steph: another one who is not adopted (Crystal Brown is very much alive and taking care of Steph (barring the time Leslie Thompkins squirreled her away after faking Stephs death BUT)) She does show up pretty soon on Tim’s tail when he starts as Robin. Again, she’s considered a staple of the family because of how long she’s been involved with them. I like to think of her like Kimmy in Full House. She’s a Good Friend who’s Constantly Showing Up and is one of the family through mutual agreement on everyone’s part.
Cass: Batgirl (2008) #6, though like Tim, Cass had been Batgirl for nearly a decade at that point in continuity. She’s shown and stated many times that she considers Bruce a father/father figure and likewise that Babs, who had been mentoring her, was the closest she has to a mother. In n52/Rebirth, I have yet to see or hear about official adoption for her, but again. We usually ignore canon on that part anyways. I mean they made her into Orphan so uhhhh. Not super great yknow?
Damian: since he is biologically Bruce’s, it’s never really addressed as far as I’m aware (I have yet to read Damian’s appearances Altho he’s next on my Robin list). I personally think it’d be interesting to explore the fact that he was likely born outside of the country and what that means for Bruce gaining legal custody & whether or not Talia would contest that? I’m sure there’s probably SOME thinkpieces about it out there, but I’ll search for them on my own time eventually
And now we’re getting to *drum roll* Harper and Duke!
Harper: her appearances are mostly kept to the n52 runs, though with Tynion returning to Detective, it’s likely she’s coming back into Rebirth soon. She’s a unique case where, due to her abusive home life, she emancipated herself and took her brother, Cullen, with her. Neither she nor her brother were adopted by Bruce, and as far as I’m aware/understand, they’re fine with it that way. I know Stephanie was living with them at some point (it’s dropped in Batman & Robin: Eternal at least?), so I certainly think it would have been nice if DC also brought them into the fold like Steph. Just a couple of kids who are Really Good Friends with the family and continue to insert themselves in batfam business lmao
Duke: I actually addressed this fairly recently here! Duke’s guardianship (bc like Dick, Duke is not outright adopted by Bruce, likely to afford Duke’s parents the opportunity to regain custody should they recover from Joker’s toxin) its a little more up in the air at this point in Batman & The Outsiders. Since Bruce is very clearly taking both him and Cass away on globetrotting adventures. It would make things EASIER ofc if he is under Bruce’s guardianship. But given that it’s not really addressed, it’s led most of fandom to simply assume it instead. And really? Considering that DC themselves probably doesn’t realize that they’ve written themselves into this corner, it probably won’t be fully addressed or recognized anyways.
So to answer your first question actually: Babs, Steph, and Harper? Not adopted, likely never will be, but they ARE interspersed fairly regularly in the line-up. Everyone else? Varying degrees of being under Bruce’s guardianship if not outright adopted.
We’re all happy that they’re here, though!!! And we love and appreciate them ALL.

Dick Grayson
I'm gonna use unpublished Nightwing #30 here: he and Kory had sex when he was getting ready for the agente stuff.
Once Agent 37 is off the deal, they end up finding each other again. A bit before Dick gets shoot.
And then, as usually it is between the acrobat and the alien princess, they do it again. 
Over and over again.
She gets pregnant and finds out by the time Dick is amnesic.
Don't @ me DC would do that.
Kory flies towards Bludhaven & talks to him. It's not exactly successful. As he had said to Babs before, he didn't want his memories back. Ric was happy without Dick's conscience.
But Starfire isn't asking for her; it's about him, of course. He should be himself, he worked very hard through years to become who he truly was. But mostly, she begged him to come back because of a new addition to their lives.
Pregnant alien!!
At first, Ric Grayson doesn't believe it. Actually, part of him is aware that's true, he can feel it in the change inside his heart when he saw her; something similar to shame and adoration and excitement at once. Kory moved, talked, and seemed like someone he could love, be completely crazy about.
But he wasn't a father!
Koriand'r leaves, and Grayson is by himself again. Without his Gotham or Titans affiliates.
And, for the first time, there is no comfort in that.
He could tell she wasn't lying. Even though a part of his treacherous new mind tried to convince him otherwise.
Grayson's mind didn't know any gorgeous alien, let alone a pregnant with his child alien.
Yet, Dick felt like he had her in his veins. Just like he did with Bruce, Damian, Barbara, Donna, and the others. Tickles behind his skin, a red alarm for a memory that was long lost. But the sensation of keeping it somewhere remained inside him.
Although, when it came to the redhead princess, the warmth inside him was more intense.
Dick was going to be a father. He didn't even know his whole self and would be needed to take care of someone else. Someone small, part of him, and the legacy of the Flying Grayson's. Besides, he didn't even actually remember the mother of his kid.

He calls Bruce. Telling him to bring the antidote that Barbara was keeping if he wanted his memories back.
Not for him, not because it was the right thing, not because of everyone who claimed to love him cried for Dick to do that. Not even because of familiar senses holding into him every time he interacted with someone from his past.
But because he was going to be a father.
This decision was for his child.
When Bruce, Babs, and Damian ask why, he doesn't answer.
He remembers now, and he needs to find Kory.
It's scary, exciting, and the biggest surprise she ever gave to him-- even more scandalous than the day she fell on earth and kissed him.
A dad! He would be a dad!
Jason Todd
It all started off as an unusual ordinary day; 
Roy got himself in trouble, Jason went to help him and the little problem became a bigger situation. Roy called Kory and a few minutes later, the situation was replaced by dust and fire smell. No one died, but it was enough to make the villains leave.
In the middle of ''What the fuck they wanted?" & "Who were they?" wonders, the original Outlaws heard a familiar motorcycle's noise which made Jason huff, Roy arch eyebrows and Kory confused. 
Dick Grayson was there.
He was hysterical, blue eyes flaming with worry and relief towards Kory. Between their couple discussion and the others attempt to understand what was going on 
Were they back together? Did dick know about the outlaws' way and was sticking his nose where it didn't belong? Did the titans need kory urgently? 
Until 'pregnant' left Dick's lips, being followed by Kory's chaotic scream of "Just because I am pregnant, it does not mean I can not fight!"
Roy just had to get closer to them and explain that it would make no good to go through stressful situations, especially if he got it right. 
A deep breath would be taken, and then Dick would apologize to Kory, saying he was just really scared for both of them. She'd look at her Outlaw friends and curve the corner of her lips-- that Kory smile that translate into 'I've seen hell and chose to use its flames to warm up the cold places of my heart.'
‘’Jason, Roy. . . I am expecting a baby.’’
Meanwhile, Jason was taking off his helmet and glaring at his friends with a perplexed look on his face. Also, a slightly desire of punching Dick. Last time he had heard of their relationship, it was about both of them avoiding each other, his older brother telling him to take care of Kory and Jason calling Dick an idiot. Yeah, he had to have a chat with him later.
For now, Roy was pulling him and Kory into a group hug.
Almost felt like their old times together.
Roy: Outlaw baby!!  /  Dick: Excuse me?
Tim Drake
Okay, okay. First of all, he wasn't planning on seeing any member of his family for a quite while. Not that Tim didn't want to, he was just really running out of time. Being Young Justice's leader was a full time job, and he wanted to be excellent at it.
But things don't always pass by as they were settle to. Therefore, when a disaster happens and Conner, of all people, gets hurt, Tim is in a delicate state of mind.
Drake is smart. He knows it isn't just about Conner. It's all the small things he's been keeping since Gotham.
Not enough sleep, but a certain amount of coffee to make his hands shake when it's late enough for the sun to come out weakly. His relationship with Steph is growing with disagreements from both lives; heroic and urban. His best friend is hurt because he analyzed too much a situation instead of telling his team what to do, so they made their independent choices. A dumb mistake, the kind that Batman would be disappointed of. Tim himself was biting his own neck about it. How could he be a leader? He should be better than that.
And then, he made a call. Because of all things he might be and might not be, he wasn't Batman.
Tim had friends, and a brother that would know what he was going through.
And he knew how to ask for help sometimes.
Dick comes by as fast as possible. They go to the roof and talk it out.
"Remember that they aren't just your team, Tim," He would say, a tranquil smile on his face. It's so similar to how he explained his relationship with the Titans when Drake was still Robin years ago. "They are your family. It's impossible for you not to be affected when they get hurt or something goes wrong. But they are alive. They still trust you. They believe, and need you. You need to give yourself some credit, and do your best for them."
OF COURSE Tim is stubborn about that because Dick is Dick and he basically grew with the Titans, it wasn't the same thing. He didn't have his older brother's skills to command, communicate, etc.
It was scary.
"Yet, Tim, a lot of things are scary. But you have to keep going. For who needs saving. For yourself. For the people you love."
His tone is too sentimental, even for Dick's big brother moments.
"You need to find something to fight for. That's how you keep going, even when you make mistakes. Good news, you already have it. "
Tim: Yeah, I think so. . . You came back to the Titans? I still have access to the computers.
Dick: Yeah, no. Kind if. It's complicated.
Tim: "Complicated? Like. . . Alien kind of complication?"
Dick: "You should know about that, huh?"
BLUSHING, STUTTERING TIM. Cutting it because I already mentioned Steph, but I couldn't miss this opportunity ok.
Dick just laughs about it.
"Starfire isn't complicated, but yeah. We are still deciding if we will keep in the Titans or if we are going to Bludhaven for now."
"It sounds serious, even permanent."
"As permanent as a baby can be."
HHSHHSUSJJSIUSIE
BABY?
IS SHE PREGNANT??
Yeah, Tim was pretty wake, and shaking, and his brain felt like burning right now.
OH MY-- DICK
He was going to be a FATHER.
"YOU ARE GONNA BE A PARENT!"
But then, Dick was the older one and the best with kids.
"WAIT, SHE WILL BE HALF ALIEN. An hybrid. In nature, two different but similar species can procreate, but their kid can't have kids. Do you think--"
"Tim, calm down. Can you at least give me congratulations before talking about my unborn child's probable infertility?"
Damian Wayne
He knew Kory and Dick had been seeing each other again.
Therefore, making one of them notice his presence before showing up was necessary.
He didn't want to accidentally see profanity between his brother figure and his team's current leader, thank you.
After an obvious noise, he got in Dick's apartment.
As expected, Starfire was there.
She was standing up, and Grayson and looking at her tearful, while holding her belly.
It wasn't possible.
Grayson wouldn't be that irresponsible, would he?
Of course he would.
" So, I supposed Starfire either has a deadly bellyache, or you two are procreating. "
He is mildly fearing that Dick won't have much time for him, but that's a matter for another time.
BONUS!
Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth
Dick visits the manor with Kory someday.
He had to give the news or Batman would end up knowing anyway.
Honestly, it wasn't about that. He actually wanted to tell Bruce about his baby.
Alfred was there when they exchanged greetings, politely as usual.
‘'We are having a baby.'’
Listen, Bruce knows how to keep his emotions under his skin, but his eldest son being a father?
This must be the most real expression he has showed in years, and it's full of emotions; he is content, and surprised, and worried.
Some would say that Alfred was tearfully, but kept his posture. Master Bruce really made it. Obstacles, of course, even more than necessary at times. Yet, he was going to be a grandfather, and master Dick was becoming a father.
Gotham had a sunny day for once.
Barbara Gordon 
If it's not Kory and Babs' baby, she will be aunt Babs
Something happens, help becomes needed.
Nightwing shows up in the middle of the combat, he was in Gotham to talk to Bruce & Alfred & Damian, anyway.
Batman dispersed him, though.
And Batgirl was confused by Batman's choice, especially after listening to his explanation:
"Nightwing, this is more dangerous than our usual job. I will take Robin and Batgirl. You have more urgent thinks to be taken care of. "
The dynamic duo leaves and there is just two long time friends. 
It doesn't take a half second for Barbara to notice Dick hiding something.
Sigh, sigh, sigh.
"All right, Dick Grayson. What did you do?"
"Apparently, a baby."
????????????
"He has been ditching me since he learned about Kory's pregnancy."
"KORY'S WHAT!?"
"You didn't even tell me you two were back together!"
"You lost your virginity to an attractive alien and now she is pregnant with your child. That is. . . Surprising."
"I am really happy for you, Dick."
"Thank you, Babs. . . You know what? Maybe it's time to actually introduce you to Kory."
Communicator ringing.
"After I take care of something. Go home, dad."

Daminette AU idea part 4
I did not think this story would take off like that. Thank you all for your support! I also want everyone to know how difficult this part was for me to write. My Oma (grandmother) suffered from schizophrenia and PTSD, and a lot of Adrien's actions today will be a mirror of what she did or said. I apologize to everyone if this is offensive to you, I am basing this on my own personal experience but this is by far not what the majority of people are like when suffering from any mental health issues. If anybody has any tips for writing this, please message me! 
For better or for worse
The batfam immediately jumped into action, Dick rushes to the penthouse to pick up the Miraculous box, Tim runs to the batcave to locate where they might be, Jason goes immediately for his guns and Alfred transforms on the spot for the first time in 3 decades. Bruce makes sure the rest of the League has their costumes handy, while Barbara calls her father to set up a perimeter preemptively and minimize casualties. Damien holds Marinette close, wanting nothing more than to go get his sword and cut them down now, but not wanting to leave Marinette alone. Diana stands beside her also, looking at Marinette's pale face. She asks her quietly, will you run? Or fight? She says it in a steely voice that pulls Marinette from the tortures of the past and make her consider her surroundings. She will not stand by idly. She MUST protect the Miraculi. And she will not be a useless bystander. Her face still pale but set, she smiles to Diana. Dick chooses that moment to Portal back with the box and Marinette jumps on it, pulling out the Snake for Dick, telling him to transform and put his costume overtop. 
"if anything happens, this will give you a second chance. Use it as often as you need to, but know that you will need to recharge after" she then grabs another miraculous and asks him to pass it to Tim. She grabs the cat and gives it to Damien. "Transform or don't, but make sure that ring is well hidden." she grabs the dragon and calls Tikki to herself, asking her to change the shape. As she's doing that she turns to Diana. "Diana Prince, can I trust you to protect the Miraculous I hand you? Will you make sure that no matter what, this Miraculous will never fall into the hands of darkness and evil?" Diana nodded solemnly. ." I swear". Marinette nodded, picking up the changed Dragon Miraculous and handed Diana the Miraculous she would protect, while she transformed herself. The suit was still mostly black, with a red cape, but the five circles on her Cape and gloves looked slightly different. Damien couldn't place it, but something was different. Diana took her leave to quickly change. Damien turned to Marinette, still reluctant to leave her without a Wayne. Jason came in at that moment, nodding to Damien he then took the rest of the box and and led Marinette to the bat cave. Alfred was on the computer with Oracle already, Tim was trying to figure out how to hide the ears that came with his under costume, listening to the police scanner to see if they had any leads yet. The League was starting to gather and Damien as Robin materialized at Marinette's side. 
"The situation we find ourselves in today is quite different. Few of us are masters at magic, let alone an ancient magic to do with gods. However, this is what we know: Adrien Agreste, former Chat Noir, has lost his mind and is coming here because he saw the Miraculous Cure from Guardian Angel two weeks ago. According to our public source, he wants the Miraculi of the cat and of ladybug to wish back a dead classmate and create a "perfect world" for himself. What that world looks like for the rest of us is anybody's guess, but something I am unwilling to even entertain. With the permission from Guardian Angel we have the use of a few Miraculi at our hands. Angel? Do you have information to pass on?"
" I want everyone to remember that yes, we're dealing with teenagers, but they're not without their dangers. We're not only dealing with the former Chat Noir, but also Rena Rouge. Neither of them were big planners, but Rena Rouge was sharp and observative, and we also know that they have the, unwilling it may be, help from a brilliant strategist and hacker. Max created a sentimental robot at age thirteen and can override street cams and home security. Alya is an aspiring journalist, she spent her every minute since our first appearance tracking us, trying to unmask us. We know from Nino's message that they've got the backing from a metropolis villain, and that Adrien and Alya are more than slightly unhinged. That means there is very little they're NOT willing to do" 
The next 20 minutes were spent planning, they were counting on robots and guns, so they put the more bullet resistant members at the front. The majority would remain back up, protect the Miraculi in the tower, and run interference to keep civilians safe. All the planning in the world would not prepare them for what they met at Gotham City outskirts. 
Nino was worried. He'd seen some weird and nasty things in Paris during Hawkmoth's reign, but the fear he felt now eclipsed it all. Adrien was standing by the window at Luthor corp. He looked serene, a soft smile on his face. But his eyes weren't seeing the Metropolis skyline. They were unfocused and every once in a while he'd nod his head, as if agreeing with a thought he'd just had. His smile would become a smirk, and he would look dangerous, like when he had killed Max's parents. He'd been reluctant at first, Nino could tell. He'd hesitated. But then he'd turned his head, as if hearing something, nodded along, and then done what he had to. He'd turned back to sunshine child in a heartbeat, smiling reassuringly and telling Max that the Miraculous would bring them back, he just had to help them get it. The blood dripping down his shirt made the boy look far more deranged than reassuring. The fact he was looking over Max's shoulder rather than at his face made it even worse. This pattern continued for a while. He'd hesitate, and a bit of the Adrien from the first day of school would shine through, but he'd hear something and he'd do it. He always turned back to the sweet boy next door afterwards, but everytime became easier for him do something atrocious. Fourteen victims later and now he just smiled, as if trying to reassure his victim that they'd be okay. Nino shuddered. What the heck was happening with Adrien? He looked to the other two in the room. 
Alya was glaring at a computer provided to them. She shuddered at Adrien's behaviour as well, but she needed to get revenge. Ladybug had been her hero and then had turned around and had Alya arrested and Lila deported. And Lila could NOT be a liar. Because if Lila was a liar, that meant that Alya had ruined her reputation as a journalist, had fought with and hurt her friend for a nobody. And that was unacceptable. She was a journalist. She was never wrong!.... Except right now, when she was trying to prove Lila's innocence. Now, as she researched all the amazing things Lila had done, all she was finding were the stories she herself posted. And videos debunking each and every claim. Even Lila's mother had stated that they hadn't left Paris once since landing. "Dammit! Lila is not a liar!" Alya screamed at her computer. 
"She won't be when I make my wish" Adrien said, still smiling softly over Alya's head. 
"What do you mean?" Alya's voice was sharp. 
"Nothing" Adrien shook his head. 
"We're ready to proceed" Lex Luther stated from the door, a sick smile on his face.
Max was ready to wet himself. Or have mental breakdown number five. This was insane! How could Adrien think any of this was okay? How could he think the Miraculi would fix all the damage he had done, when there was no proof it even worked outside of magic? Max looked fearfully towards Nino for reassurance, but there had been no reply so far from any heroes. Had they received the message? Were Nino and Max also in trouble by association? What was their plan to help the heroes? Looking out at the elaborate lay out of Luther's hidden base, Max wasn't sure if there was anything they could do. Looking at Nino's pale face and Adrien's serene smile was not at all reassuring.
This is bad, was the collective thought from the members of the League. Usually Luther was a one man (even if that man was Super) job. But this.... How had he gotten so many people under his thumb? When? Staring back at them were the faces of jot only Luther's Army, but all surviving member os the League of Assassins, including Bane, and what looked like Scarecrow. Interspersed were some Luther Tec robots and hired guns.
"OH.... This is much worse than I thought"
