God we were so robbed of Steph Robin. She really is the Robin that we needed but not the one the Batbooks deserve. One who would actually call Batman on all his bullshit and hold him accountable for his terribleness and come at him with a 23 page long document full of orphan jokes whenever she senses him trying to take himself seriously. Maybe I'm being sensitive but this whole scene just frustrates and annoys me because like

comparing Steph and Tim so callously with comments that he's "better" and a "quick learner" after her death

having Cass lowkey victim blame Steph for her own death "But she chose--" and "She messed up." plus trying to convince Tim that it's not Steph's fault

the "Maybe it's time I gave you a lesson" like I don't really have a good reason for this one it might just be a personal thing but the tone of that whole sentence makes me feel frustrated and talked down to

i am utterly fascinated that The Sunshine Court came across my radar just as I'm in the midst of obsessing about Murderbot.

I was maybe halfway through TSC when I realized omg... this is just like Murderbot Diaries?! 😳 The genre/concepts are wildly different, but they're exactly the same in that they're about a character who has lived through hell, and is now in the process of deconditioning/healing with the help of people around them. Even to the extent that the characters minimize or don't even realize the extent of their trauma, but the people around them are having the very appropriate reactions of "what THE FUCK!?!"

The biggest difference is that SecUnit hacked its own governor module (and has had 3 years to kinda process things), while in TSC Jean's "governor module" was removed without his consent, and he's fighting it and dealing with the fallout in real time. T_T
