I generally avoid modern comics so I haven't even read enough to be sure of this so, please DO correct me if I'm wrong but: I feel like a big part of what bothers me about modern DC stories is that we just. don't see enough of the quiet civilian moments anymore. There's no day-to-day life and casual clothes and workplace shenanigans. It's all been replaced with constant fast-paced high-energy plot-filled superheroing. When's the last time we got to see these characters chilling in something that isn't spandex. Where's the delicate balance between the mundane and human that elevates the more fantastical/sci fi action filled moments. I feel like that's a big part of 80s and 90s DC that gave these comics their general feel, and that seems to be simply missing nowadays.

anyway just a reminder for the myth lovers out there

on the way to see family, i drive past a lake that in which is welsh legend, is the last resting place of excalibur.

i’m just saying in my experience a lot of these legends had been so anglo-fied in the past and it’s like, all this cool shit is celtic welsh legend.

Jeff Bezos and Amazon are a fucking blight upon the working class. He got rich by treating rank and file employees like hot garbage toiling under dehumanizing, backbreaking conditions for shitty pay. When there are this many random strangers across various sectors/departments of a single company sharing similar horror stories, that can’t be dismissed as just a few disgruntled ex-employees. Grievances like these are why I quit using Amazon. They made my life easier at the expense of thousands of hardworking people being mistreated and disrespected behind closed doors. (thread)

So, in SoM, Percy states that he is telling that story 6 years after it has occurred. Him being 13 at the timeline. Meaning he was 19.

SoM came out in 2006, 2006-19 is 1987. So if Riordan was actually good at timelines it would mean that the series takes place in the early-early 2000s.

THIS MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE!! Percy was not born in 2003/2004. the lightning thief came out in 2005, and Rick is the senior scribe of camp half blood meaning Percy was the one who told the story TO him. which means that if percy was one or two years younger than TLT, Rick would’ve had to fast forward to 2014/2016 and TIME TRAVELED, Then INTERVIEWED PERCY, Then ZAPPED BACK IN TIME to write the lightning thief? who is in charge of writing these blogs I swear to god

Sorry for a serious post but as this blog was originally made as a reminder not to trust every “fact” you read on tumblr:

Do not trust medical advice from random tumblr blogs, especially on how to perform surgery on yourself. This can kill you.

There appear to be troll/anti-abortion blogs posting self abortion advice that will get people killed. Posts sending people to religious fanatics instead of legitimate info resources. Posts advocating avoiding real medical assistance in favor of self harm and more.

We have all seen the reality-shredding lies that got this country where it is today, and you can expect them to continue, taking advantage of panic and fear as always to harm us.

Do research. Find resources you trust. Talk to people you trust. But for the love of god:

DO NOT TRUST RANDOM TUMBLR POSTS WITH YOUR LIFE AND HEALTH.
