I recently decided to add an Asgore to my AU because I think he's a really interesting and deep character that kiiiind'a gets clowned on a lot.. <XD I wanted to do him justice by bringing out what I like most about his character and overall vibe :}}

This was originally going to be in a post with like 6 other drawings. But I was so proud of how it came out that I wanted to post it by itself. :}}}}

His temporary lore/backstory is after the keep reading! :D

Asgore's story is a bit vague.. but I'm thinking he's in a similar situation to River Person and Grillby. He cant go back to his AU and is full of grief about it..

I know his AU wont be like classic Undertale. Maybe in his AU they were sent underground much later? Or not at all? Chara and Asriel could be older.. who knows. But I'm thinking that at some point.. while being married to Toriel and having both Chara and Asriel, he had to go to war.

He told his wife and kids that he loved them very much. He said goodbye to them and went to war.. In which he was later killed.. Somehow Jevil and his gang passing through, ripped his soul out of his AU and into the multiverse. In doing this his crown was left behind and he was prevented from fully turning into dust somehow..

If he were to return to his AU, he would just continue turning into dust and die. So he cannot return.

Now unlike Grillby or River Person, Asgore is able to cope with this situation a bit better than them.

He was able to say goodbye to his family before he died. And the last thing he said to them was that he loved them. He died protecting his people, and his sacrifice in battle is ultimately what led to their victory. His family will be full of grief, but they have his crown to remember him by. And Toriel is a very strong woman. He has no doubt that she has enough love in her soul for the both of them. And will raise their kids into strong and mature individuals without his help.

He is still grieving the fact that he will never see his family again, of course. But knowing that his family is still alive and will continue to thrive and live despite his absence.. its comforting really.

Asgore is now permamntly in a state of dusting, but not really..? He is made of dust but he is still very powerful. It doesn't seem like him dusting has effected his magic too much.. he's not really sure <XD

Since he no longer has his crown, he has blatantly just said "I am no king, not anymore." He now kind'a acts as the groups body guard. Also unlike Grillby, he is thankful that Jevil saved him. If Jevil hadn't accidentally interfered, Asgore would have just died anyway and never knew if his family was safe or if they had won the battle or not.

I have other ideas of Asgore being this really tender character, and devoting himself to protecting his "new family". I imagined him helping Grillby move on and cope with his grief.. and if he can still heal monsters/darkners.. I imagine him healing Seam and Spamton to ease them of their pain.. Even if its only temporarily relief. I like to think that he is this rock that the others can lean on.

All in all, this Asgore is a pretty neat dude. He's their friend now, they're having soft tacos later! :}

Since I've talked about almost all the other important parts during my reread, I didn't want to forget the sealed god's test.

It's just... So good I'm not even sure where to start. Like, this is a moment where Cale really shines.

Cale. Rok Soo, which we're told means 'to always grow green, even in winter'.

And we see that in this test.

The sealed god throws him into one of the worst moments of his life, expressly to make him despair.

Instead, Cale takes that moment and uses it to rewrite the past, and erase all his regrets.

This is where we really get to see what post-apocalyptic Korea was like. And over and over again we learn how badly things went then, even as Cale makes sure it doesn't happen like that again.

We also see some of his years of experience, and maturity. Especially with how he handles Park Jin Tae, who was a bully and a tyrant - and also died in Cale's first life, fighting to save everyone in the shelter.

You can see what we've seen all along. Cale doesn't judge leaders by the petty stuff. He judges them on how well they take care of their people.

This is also where Cale, Choi Han, and Alberu really become an amazing trio.

Choi Han, who bargains a large chunk of his life away (just the time he'd be alone, as he ties the length of his life to Raons) in order to join Cale in his test.

And Alberu, who the Sun God helps possess a monster called the Dark Tiger when his real body is sleeping.

Those three are so tight knit now, it's beautiful. Real ride or die friends.

Especially when you remember where they all started.

It's also, as always, a time where you have to pay attention to the subtleties. This is Cale's past, and he's focused on making sure everyone survives... But Choi Han and especially Alberu can see the desperation, the struggle, and the near starvation of all the survivors. Alberu has a couple of moments when he's out of the test and giving updates to their friends, and you see him struggling. Because Cale asked him not to overly stress them (the kids especially) and basically say it's fine... And Alberu's like 'how can I tell them that?!?'

And then, naturally, there's Choi Jung Soo and Lee Soo Hyuk.

Younger versions, and not the ones Cale knew. But still, we get to learn more about his earlier found family.

We also see things going on back at home. Since his physical body is still there, his friends have to rescue him.

And we see how they're able to perform, even without Cale to call the shots.

We especially see how well Raon has grown, as he makes important decisions on how to find the monster statues.

Even more importantly, we have this at the end.

– Do you really think that this moment is the end of despair? Cale looked down at the rose gold lights burning in his hands. He opened his mouth to speak. ‘Is this moment the end of despair? No. Absolutely not.’ “This is just the beginning of the despair in this world.” It was just the beginning. Despair would reveal itself in many different forms in this world from now on. “But people have hope now.” After about a year since the world had turned into a mess… The people who had always lost, struggled, and barely managed to survive will be victorious for the first time. They would destroy this despair known as an unranked monster. The sealed god who had been silent for a moment asked as if he was sneering at Cale. – Do you have hope as well? It seemed to be implying that Cale was someone who could not have hope. That was how it sounded to Cale. Cale slowly shook his head. “No.” He did not have hope. However… “I have certainty.” Cale needed something more certain than hope. Finally, he had gotten it. “This place will draw a different future than my past. I’m certain of it.” He was certain that more people would survive than in his past. He was certain that they would have better lives. That was not speculation. Although it was a future that was yet to come, Cale believed it to be the truth. In fact, Cale wanted to be the one to finish the first step toward that certainty. The burning rose gold thunderbolts moved away from Cale’s hands. He started to speak again. “This is the first time I’m saying this to a god.” Toward the silent sealed god… To the god who had tried to give him despair… Cale said the following. “Thanks.” He really meant it. “My memories didn’t end in despair thanks to you.”

It's not that he defeated despair. That despair will no longer exist.

But there's hope, and he is certain that the future will be better.

And even more so - he is grateful that he had this chance to change his memories.

He took this thing that was supposed to break him, and used it to fix himself instead.

‼️ Ethnic Features ‼️

So, the art world is in a very weird place when it comes to ethnic features. The conversation was about how using POC ethnic features as an insult in media was damaging and needed to stop, and that somehow morphed into people being scared about drawing people with those features.

Black people have big ears, big noses, and big lips. That's not the problem. The problem was that media was using it to make us look like giant ape, monkey, monster creatures. It's okay to give them these defining features.

Also, remember that brown people have lighter pigment under their feet, hands, and bottom lips. 🌸 (didn’t really know where to put this but drawing mix people is basically a spin the wheel we come in all different shapes and sizes and features. There’s really no wrong way to draw a mixed POC.)

‼️ It's Just My Style ‼️

I'm so goddamn tired of hearing this goddamn excuse. A style does not mean you can't properly represent POC. I would even go on to say that if your style is stunting you so grossly that you can't draw a proper black person, you have a bad art style. Sorry—not really.

Media has shown us that style does not stop representation. The only thing stopping that is your ignorance and refusal to improve. Great examples of ranging styles still being able to represent different POC are "Adventure Time," "Disney's Soul," "Proud Family," "Afro Samurai," etc. I'm just saying this because I've seen this excuse be more prevalent in the art world, and it's just better to nip that in the bud.

‼️ Whitewashing + I Don't Know How to Use the Color Brown ‼️

I've seen people make the excuse that the skin color is lighter because they use a pastel style, but they never bring up the fact that the only color in the art that's lighter is the skin tone. 💀

Also, the whole thing about people saying they don't know how to shade and color brown palettes is just completely bullshit. I would even say that trying to shade pale colors is harder than shading darker colors. Additionally, there are multiple artists and tutorials showing you exactly how it's done. You have no excuses other than you just don't want to.

‼️ Black Hairstyles ‼️

I love dreads. Dreads are a very pretty hairstyle. However, we have more hairstyles other than dreads. If you're going to draw black characters, I would encourage you to branch out and explore beyond dread heads. There are so many unique black hairstyles out there. We need to move on from just focusing on dreads.

YouTuber Ari has two wonderful videos on black hairstyles in video games. I would recommend checking them out.

I love referencing old black media such as "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," "The Proud Family," and "Little Bill" (before all the Bill Cosby stuff came out). I also appreciate how "House of the Dragon" implemented black people into the lore. Other references include "BOTW/TOTK Rottmnt," etc.

Some artists I reference all the time are Mohammed Agbadi, who doesn't do many art tutorials anymore but often discusses black characters in media, and his art is still amazing. Ethan Becker has a very interesting video on the racist triangle that I recommend checking out.

On Instagram, I love the art of Jojo.Dreamie, Chibichanga12 (holy shit, love their art), Bruniosktch, and Caw.Chan. I also just reference my family a lot. 💀

My father stood at the front of the table and bowed down over a map of Santa Carla. My mother was washing the wooden stakes with holy water, and my sister was busy practising her fighting moves. I sighed, curled up in the chair by the window.

"Why can't we just let them be?"

"They kill people."

"Isn't hunting them down also killing people?" I asked, but the second I did I knew I went to far.

"You listen to me, child!" My father stomped towards me, grabbing my chin. "You're a part of this family, and we are destined to protect the world from vampires. We've allowed you to stay behind because you refuse to fight, but I will hear none of this nonsense!"

"But-"

"These creatures are evil, demons that poison the world. And if you do not stand with us, then you're against us. You're just as bad as them."

I stood from my chair, trembling with anger. "How dare you?! I did everything you asked, and still you talk to me as if I am nothing! Why can't you just accept that I don't consider vampires a threat? Why must you kill them?" In the past year, I had researched everything I could, from behaviours to living situations - and I could only draw one conclusion out of all of it. Vampires weren't worse than humans. In fact, humans were more vicious killers than they were. Humans kill so many, not just people but also animals - simply for their pleasure (in the case of animals) or because it is expected from them in situations of war. But vampires, as horrible as they are, only kill because they need to in order to survive. And if they find a way for themselves to enjoy the killing, to make it bearable for them? Is that truly that bad? Does it truly make them worse than humans? I didn't think so.

My father turned to me, his stare turned ice cold. "Matthew -" my mother tried to calm him down, but he pushed her away. My sister had left the room, probably not willing to hear the same old argument again.

"You lost your brother because of those monsters. Or have you forgotten that?"

I glared at him. "Those killers have been dealt with."

"Exactly. And that's what we need to do here."

"But they didn't hurt us!"

"Get out!" My father now growled, and without looking back, I ran. I grabbed my bag, ran out of the house, and didn't stop running until I saw people.

I stopped to catch my breath, closing my eyes as I tried to fight tears. I missed my brother a lot, but it didn't justify the slaying of vampires. It didn't. It wasn't right, and it pained me more than I liked to admit that my family couldn't see that.

I entered the boardwalk, finding a way through the crowds. In the bag I'd taken was one of my favourite books, and I knew that I needed to read right now. I needed to clear my head and get away from the trouble at home. I didn't like the idea of reading on the sand, to afraid the sand would get stuck between the pages and damage the book. So, I walked around looking for a better spot.

I sighed as I found an empty bench at the boardwalk, a bright streetlantern right above it. It was a perfect spot to read. As I sat down, curling my legs up beneath me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness wash over me. If they could only just accept me for who I was, and accept that I would never be like them...

I opened my book, and before I knew it, I was engulfed in the story. The laughter of the people on the boardwalk disappeared into the far background of my mind. The movements of the crowds disappeared from my sight. It was just me and my book. I had read it many a time before, every single time turning back to it. If the count cared so much for Mina, so much that in the end, he begged her to kill him so she could be free - then he wasn't truly evil, was he?

"Been a long time since I've seen anyone with that book."

I jumped, startled by the voice in front of me. I looked up and saw a handsome man looking at me.

"It's one of my favourites."

He smiled as he sat down next to me. "Why are you reading at the boardwalk?"

"It's more quiet here," I said with a soft smile. "Here I can get lost in the story, but at home..." I shook my head. "It's easier to read here."

"I'm Dwayne."

I gave him my name, finding myself enjoying his presence. There was something about him. We talked for hours. About the book I was reading now, about books we both had read - and by the time the boardwalk closed, I found myself considering him a close acquaintance.

"Do you want to meet again sometime?" I asked him, feeling more shyly than I had anticipated.

"How about we go out for dinner tomorrow? I'll meet you at the boardwalk at eight."

I smiled, nodding. "Sounds good. I'll see you then!"

Dwayne drove off, feeling contemplated. He knew that they were a member of a family of hunters, but nothing about them gave him any warning signs. In everything they'd talked about that evening, they had seem very positive towards vampires. No, they weren't a threat, he decided. Maybe even an asset if push came to shove. The question was, would that stay that way when they realised that they were destined to be a vampire themselves?

My personal ranking of how hard the lords in black slap (in my opinion)

1. Blinky

We only got one NMT with him but MAN was it fucking TIGHT. Blinky has such a clear and coherent theme (watching) which gives him a degree of predictability, but it's tempered by the fact that that theme has so many different offshoots. Blinky's power manifests in spectacle, capitalist surveillance, paranoia about relationships and the resulting controlling behavior that comes from that, sexual threats, false selves, and each of those themes could have easily been a whole episode alone, but instead they were woven together so well! There's clearly so much to explore with him. Also the fact that he's based on the concept of an audience that prefers its characters interesting more than happy is. Well it could have been stupid but it WASN'T okay it WASN'T

2. Pokey

Man I'm a sucker for a hivemind. His biggest draw for me is, well, the implications. Pokey pulls off the "seems goofy, is actually horrifying" better than the other lords in black in my opinion, and not just because he was the first, but because his mere presence subverts the whole medium TGWDLM was made in, reframing ordinarily harmless scenes as horror. The loss of self is a very human fear to play on, and opens up the potential for so much delicious tragedy.

3. Wiggly

Coherent theme of greed. I like that he manifested more subtly than Pokey-- rather than taking people over, he preyed on urges they already had and redirected them to himself. (The fact that he was going to be summoned ruined that a little for me, but not terribly.) I also liked the stress that Wiggly didn't have to do a ton of work because of the fact that humans already fucked up their world. Made in America SLAPS man.

4. Nibbly

I mean, you can't go wrong with a hunger themed monster. Nibbly had a bit of the multifaceted theming Blinky did with physical hunger and a strong "hunger" or desire to win, but the fact that he was kept as a late reveal meant that couldn't be explored as much. Overall, Nibbly didn't seem to have a strong corrupting influence or even a will or desire to conquer humans-- Roman was the real villain, Nibbly just helped.

5. Tinky

What even is this guy's deal? Yes, I know that he's "the bastard of time and space" but what does that mean? Why do we only see him interacting with time and not space? His persona has some karmic aspects, since his one victim was revealed to have caused all his own problems with time travel, but it's not emphasized enough to make it a coherent theme. It seems like his main thing is being obsessed with a terrible man, which nearly every tumblrina manages without magic powers. I would still like to see him expanded on though.

So I just read your HCs, and I love how you characterized Ami as having autism. She was always my favorite character-- we even share a birthday-- and I'm glad that I'm not the only one who sees her as being on the autism spectrum.

I'm also not ashamed to admit that I teared up a little reading what happened to Luna. I love the relationship Ami and Luna have, both in the actual show and in your headcanon.

I love that more people are open to the autistic Ami hc now. It was always a bit of a no brainer to me, but I understand why some people pushed the idea away.

That said I love her. I've mentioned before that even back a year ago Ami was prob my 4th or 5th fav, but getting to draw her and write her more and more (and a bit of Makoami magic lol) she has srly grown on me. She's still not my fav, Mako my beloved, but she has a serious soft spot in my heart, I go back to her a lot for comfort.

So I'm always so super happy when people tell me they like my characterization of Ami.💙

Her and Luna's relationship is something I srly wanna explore more.

I see Ami as an outcast, but not really cause her peers actively dislike her, but cause Ami has chosen to distance herself from them, deciding to focus on her studies and academics instead.

This lack of interaction with people her own age has made it difficult for her to relate with them, being actually much easier to interact with people older than her (since that level of informality is never broken and that's where Ami is at her most comfortable).

I see Luna as a middle-aged woman at least and for her, connecting with Ami was easy since the beginning, even if it took her a bit for Ami to warm up to the idea of this 'new reality'. Ami does not want to do this. She said it to Luna since the beginning, initially refusing to aid her and turning her back on Luna's offer to become a senshi.

Though Luna stuck around, not only cause this is her mission, but also because she saw a loneliness within Ami (despite Luna's mission being JUST to reawaken the senshi, she couldn't overcome her maternal instincts). Ami is initially perplexed by this, but slowly starts to warm up to Luna, enjoying her company, her talks, her advice, her compliments, affirmations..

I can see a conflict within Luna at this point, coming to care about this girl, but feeling extremely guilty about her behavior, being very easy to be read as, well, grooming, for a lack of a better term. Tho Luna genuinely cares.

I think multiple factors influenced Ami to finally try being a senshi a go. Seeing someone being attacked by monster (which had Ami initially just simply ran away from it, Ami's but a simple human, powers or not, she's scared), an odd sense of responsibility put on her (Ami being an extreme people pleaser, if an authority entaskes her with something, she feels a sense of duty and drive to make the person proud), but ultimately I think the major factor was Luna.

Luna is the primary reason Ami became a senshi (refresher to the join order of the girls in my AU: Ami awakens first with Luna, then Rei joins, then Usagi). It's not easy, in fact it puts a severe strain on her, both physically and mentally, but Ami pushes through, for Luna. Eventually made easier (and harder in some ways) by the avdent of Rei joining the team.

Loosing Luna is something that will keep resonating withAmi throughout the series. It's like loosing a second mother, especially since Saeko has been fairly absent through her life (though Saeko will be more present, suspecting something is up with her daughter and she will genuinely try to "mother", Saeko is a disaster, in many ways more than Ami herself).

She will start asking herself why she is even doing this anymore, since Luna's not here, who is she even fighting for anymore? It's a very selfish question, she's aware, but I think it's a form of coping from her part.

Despite asking such a question constantly, she never makes to leave, she would never, she knows she can't, cause she cares too much about her friends. She knows she's now fighting for them too, but this would be the first time such thought would be a conscious reflection in her mind, having had Luna be such a central staple on her mind for so long.

Unknowingly, Luna had eased her among loving peers. It was never all easy, they had fights and they will have more, but Ami finally belongs. It's a bitter sweet feeling for her.

Ami loves her team.

At this point, she cares so much about Usagi, being the first to show her how to "friend". Starting as just an odd aloof girl that joined her team, to seeing her as a girl who always strives to make others happy. Bringing cheerfulness into team since the very first day, something that Ami became so accustomed to, she would never realize how much she would miss it til having to go back to an empty apartment, color seeming to drain along the walls in the lack of her presence. A simple genuine smile, something that seems so simple, yet so rare, Ami cherishes it so dearly.

And Rei.. Rei's complicated, she likes to make herself as such. Ever since the beginning, Rei seemed cold, refusing Luna's offer like Ami had done prior. Though this time, Luna just seemed to run in a wall every time she went to the temple. Talks, explanations, pleads, bargains, nothing seemed to work.

"I can talk to her if you'd like"

She really didn't want to, but for Luna, she will. The talk went as well as you expected it, an incredibly frustrated Rei trying to deal with recent accusations of her temple attracting mysterious attacks on students. Despite that, Rei didn't try to physically ward off Ami like she did with Luna many times (Luna is still pretty scared of that broom).

"Did that dumb cat send you? Listen, I have a job to do here, so you either get to the point or you get out of my way."

...

"So?"

"My name is Ami, Ami Mizuno" offering her hand to Rei to shake.

...

*Sigh*, Rei unashamedly pinching her nose in frustration. "If I shake your hand will you tell that dumb cat to-"

"Luna"

"What?"

"Her name is Luna"

"Yes! I know her name! She's been harrassing me in my own house for the last 2 weeks! Alright, listen. I don't know what kind of program you guys are a part of and I have no interest to know, but let me put this into clear terms so that maybe an actual 'person' might understand this better than a stupid cat. NO! Now scram, I'm busy!"

.. "..." "ok" bowing and turning to leave.

That night, something akin to guilt seemed to boil within a restless Rei Hino. She knew it wasn't due to how she confronted the girl, she had all rights to be angry! Tho a seemingly related vision of the girl with blue hair, lying perfectly still in a pool of what seemed to be her own blood stuck with her.

Rei will tell herself that she joined the team to get Luna to stop harrassing her and that the team NEEDS her. Like, come on, how is such a team meant to go on without the grandiose Rei Hino leading them to victory?! Earth would have no shot. HA!

Rei would never admit part of the reason she did join, was Ami, seeing the girl get hurt, or possibly killed, haunted her. She blamed Luna for this. Ami should've never been a part of this. Ami's weaker, almost fragile combat figure seemed like a cruel joke to Rei. Seeing the girl even shivering from her powers (Ami's not immune to her own powers), the small girl curled up into a ball in a desperate attempt to keep herself warm in a relatively cool night. With a loud sigh and exaggerated movements, Mars made to cup Mercury's hands.

Ami, being obviously perplexed and put off by this, but almost too weak to pull back, finding comfort in her companion's warmth after having to endure numerous and stressful post-fight recory sessions with nothing but the comfort of helpless Luna offering her kind words of encouragement.

It would take a while for both Ami and Rei to fully come to terms to the idea that they were 'friends'. When the newly recruited Usagi asked, Ami had no answer ready, which is extremely unusual of her. 'Friends? Are me and Rei friends? We're companions, teammates, we never really hang out outside of missions or just studying silently at the temple', though Ami enjoyed her presence. Except when Rei was needlessly rude to Luna, Ami enjoyed being around her. It didn't feel quite as lonely, even if they never openly spoke about their lives, hobbies, families... 'I guess we're not friends'.

Ami hated being so logical at times, but she couldn't help it.

Throughout the season and into season 2, this relationship between the two grew stronger, especially due to the 'Usagi' phenomenon LOL. Making it so effortless to bridge the two into more intimate moments outside of uniform. A mission to check on an amusement park became a fond memory for Ami. A picture taken of the 3, looking so much like the pictures she'd see of her school piers sharing among each other of their 'hangouts'. Funny how that worked.

Rei and Ami's friendship would def have its highs and lows, mostly stemming from Luna and how differently each girl would see her. Ami being very capable of holding a grudge toward Rei's treatment of her. All of it reaching a terrible boiling point at the moment of Luna's death and discovering about Rei vision. Again, Ami was absolutely blinded by rage and grief. She loved Rei. Rei's no murderer, but she let her primal emotions take over and with the events of season 2 after that, the two never got a moment to grief or a moment to reconcile. Rei still holding a massive grudge toward Ami, refusing to even speak to her outside of sailor business, while Ami is eaten by grief and guilt.

Mako being her main source of comfort at this point (Usagi tries, but she also has her own demons to fight still). The previously mostly unknown, if nice, tall girl that joined her team late, seeming to take steps to take care of a broken Ami, offering support, food, and and a shoulder to cry on.

Luna's influence will be felt by the team and not forgotten. Ami especially will carry her momery forever.

Heyy! Can I request Hsr boys (Caelus, Jing Yuan and Welt if possible) reacting to an anxious!reader whos a performance monster? Normally, theyre quieter by nature. Wearing oversized sweaters and massive blanket scarves and dislike drawing attention to themselves (think cozy accademia)

They dont usually preform , but when they do, they will preform with ×100 charm. Full 180 from their more reserved, timider side. Confident, flirty and show-stopping they become, hypnotizing people with their preformances unintentionally.

The reason they preform is essencially a friendly contest between friends to see who can outperform the other, more of a playful pride/bragging rights thing then anything. (ie. whoever has the best preformance by vote doesnt have to worry about dinner) When your peers get competative, and step up, ones gotta rise to the ocassion. Due to that, it's kind of resulted in reader and their friends getting better and better, as everyone kept encouraging eachother (cheering, whistling, throwing money at eachother when one is preforming) to get better. (Also free food so ye)

Tw: Panic Attack Caelus:

The wind was sharp and cold tonight. You sat on your couch all cozied up with an oversized sweater and the longest pants in existence. A mug in your hand as you watched the local news. Today was the day you were going to face off Caelus in a performance competition. Caelus was your friend you met not too long ago in the Astral Express. He was rather expressionless and you were quite timid so the beginning was rough.

Though eventually you both warmed up to each other bit by bit. It felt like forever but it happened thankfully. As you sipped tea the door burst open almost making you spit the liquid out. It was Caelus.

“You ready to get beat?” He said with a small smug smile. 

“I’ll win..” You felt nervous. You weren’t one to enjoy others' attention. It made you feel uncomfortable. Caelus knew this as well but he wanted you to get out of your bubble and show off. Also, You can't let him beat you can you?

You then noticed his attire. He had the same clothes that he usually wore. Light gray t-shirt, black pants, and a long sleeved jacket.

“You can’t wear that to the performance..” You said pointing and mumbling.

Caelus put his hands on his hips and tilted his head with a neutral expression. 

“Why can’t I?” He said confused.

“It's a performance. You have to dress to appeal. Otherwise no one will cheer.”

Caelus did the so-called superman pose and pushed his shoulders up.

“I'm already attractive. The ladies love me.” The fact he said that with an expressionless face almost made you laugh.

“Okay let's get ready.” You say as you walk to your closet. You slipped out a seductive outfit that would catch the crowd's cheers. Your anxiety rose up but you knew this is how you'd win the contest between you and Caelus.

You put the outfit on and looked at yourself in the mirror. Taking deep breaths to get ready for what was going to happen. Caelus also changed into better attire. A suit and his hair slicked back as you headed to the theater building.

The crowd was bigger than you expected. 

Eyes everywhere.

 Your breath hitched in your throat as you tried to calm yourself down. That failed as it turned into hyperventilation. Heavy pants came out your mouth as you clutched your chest trying to stop it till you felt warm hands on your face.

“Calm down.” Caelus said cupping your cheeks. “You're okay. Everythings fine.” He said soothingly. For someone so emotionless all the time this was comforting.

“T-thank you.” You say slowly calming down. 

“I'm up first. Take inspiration if you need it.” Caelus teased with a small smile making you roll your eyes playfully.

He walked on stage and people squealed at the handsome young man in front of them. The performance was repetitive. He showed off amazing fighting skills and powers he had wowed the crowd over a million times. You smiled at your friend being proud of him. Though now you felt the urge to beat him in this even more. After all, it's a free lunch if you win.

Caelus winked as he got off stage hearing shrieks of fangirling.

“Where'd you learn how to wink like that?” You ask, chuckling.

“Sampo.” He said bluntly.

“Of course.” It was your turn now and an anxiety feeling crept on you again but you paced your breath steady as you saw Caelus shoot you an encouraging smile which you returned.

You stepped on stage and for some reason. 

Your whole damn aura changed.

You danced for the crowd with no sense of nervousness whatsoever sending Caelus into a dumbfounded state. 

Your flirty smiles caught many people's attention.

 Your seductive manner made people watch closely. 

Your beautiful talent at footwork made people stop drinking and watch in awe.

Movements flowed with ease.

Your nervousness was now confidence as you striked poses in the dance you were doing. You catched a glimpse of Caelus’s eyes and he was sparkling. Showing he was deep into the dance as well. 

A final movement to end it off and the crowds cheered as loud as they could. 

“Hurray!” 

“Huzzah!”

“MARRY ME.” Oh dear.

A blush crept to your face from embarrassment as you bowed and quickly came off stage flustered.

“That was amazing. I've never seen anything like it..” Caelus said, his eyes drifting away.

You gave a grateful smile as Caelus’s head shot up all of a sudden.

“Don’t tell me you put that nervous act just to get consoled by me?” He teased with a neutral face.

“N-no! I was actually nervous..I don’t know what just happened.” You said, shaking your head furiously.

“Now I wonder who got more votes..” Caelus replied which you nodded to.

Votes came in and goodness.

You had won by a landslide! Caelus’s face drifted off as he looked depressed but you smiled triumphantly at that. Though you could catch a hint of a smile on his face.

“Guess that means you're paying for my dinner.” You smirked as he sighed heavily.

“I gotta tell you something.” Caelus said with a stern face making you flinch.

“Y-yes?” You replied worriedly.

“I'm broke.”

Jing Yuan:

It was a beautiful sunny day, the clouds swarming the sky like an ocean wave. Today you were going against the General of the Cloud Knights. Jing Yuan. You couldn't find him as you searched and searched. Fu Xuan told you he was in a room which she pointed at. You thanked her and opened the door just to be caught in a tricky situation.

The General and his Cloud knights were at a meeting which you accidentally walked in on making you embarrassed.

“Oh. S-sorry wrong timing.” You flushed as you turned on your foot to leave.

“Wait. Today's performance today, right?” The General spoke with a smirk.

“Yes..but you can cancel if you want. You seem busy..” You mumbled shyly as the knights stared at the person who interrupted.

“Nonsense! I'm not busy. I have so much free time.” Jing Yuan stood up smiling. A young disciple named Yanqing of Jing Yuan also stood up looking ready to protest.

“General! You said you were going to teach me the new sword technique that the older soldiers are learning. So you are busy!” He said frustrated. Though it was a little hard to take seriously since all you saw was a little child complaining to his dad. 

“Yanqing. That can be another day. I've told them that I'd do this performance for a while now.” Jing Yuan sighed, crossing his arms looking down at Yanqing.

Yanqing then pouted and was clearly not happy with this revelation but then an idea struck. 

“How about you come along as one of the audience members?” You said murmuring a bit shyly to announce this idea.

Jing Yuan clapped once and smiled. 

“That'd be nice. Wouldn't it be Yanqing? You can also see your General doing a performance.” Yanqing wanted to decline but it was clear he wanted to see his General in the works.

“Yes, General.” He mumbled trying to cover the excitement on his face.

“Excellent!” Jing Yuan said, clearly pleased. “Why don’t you go get dressed, hm? The performance will be in 2 hours.” You nodded and headed out to the dressing room.

You dressed into an outfit that you knew would grab the crowd's attention.

 It was stunning. 

Though a wave of anxiety swept over you as you knew there would be loads of people watching. 

Staring.

After all, the General of the cloud knights was going to be there, and now his disciple in the crowd.Who would miss that? 

Your hands dug into a table as you tried to ease the stress building up on you. Your body felt cold. You needed warmth. 

“I can't do this.” You mumbled looking at the ground.

“And why can't you?” A familiar voice spoke.

Jing Yuan stood there crossing his arms and looking at you as if you were a student who was caught cheating on an exam, making you flinch in surprise.

“Ah..I'll freeze up. I can’t.” You say biting your bottom lip.

Jing Yuan sighed and held one of your shoulders as gently as possible.

“Yes you can.” He said looking straight into your eyes. “You have to. How will that bubble break if you don't blow it?” He smirked knowing he sounded poetic. “Well they don’t call me Shakespeare 2.0 for nothing.”

You chuckled amused at his comfortment. “O-okay. I'll try.” You say smiling softly.

“Good.” He let go of your shoulder smirking.

“I'm out first.” He waves you off as he walks out.

“Goodluck!” You shout encouragingly, getting a chuckle out of him.

Yanqing was in the crowd, clearly excited to see his Generals performance as goodness. He had the right to be so excited.

Jing Yuan showed blade work and how he handled weapons with amazing ease. Tricks and how he could attack his enemies from any certain angle. Each slash he showed to the crowd was as if a bird was spreading its wings for its first time.

“Wows” and “woah’s” echoed from the crowd making you feel proud but more competitive inside.

Jing Yuan winked as he came off stage and people clapped. Yanqing stood up in awe and clapped the loudest.

“You're up next.” He says to you as he walks off.

You take a breath and walk onto the stage. Feeling eyes on you. Though as the music began you swayed. 

With no tension in your body?

Fluid movements of the dance as you did neat tricks making you look like some sort of goddess.

 A flirty smile to the audience making them blush.

 A twirl to get their attention. 

An air kiss for people to continue watching.

A glimpse of Jing Yuan's expression was seen. Eyes widened and mouth slightly agape.

Minutes pass of this motion.

You stop and take a breath of relief as crowds begin cheering. Roses fell onto the stage and money was flung making you blush out of being flustered from such treatment. Yanqing gave a thumbs up which you returned chuckling.

You got off stage and smile to yourself and accidentally bump into someone quite tall.

It was Jing Yuan.

“Amazing job you did out there. I couldn't stop watching.” He says truthfully.

“I'm glad.” You smile, grasping your hands together.

“Let's check the votes shall we?” Jing Yuan suggested with you obliged and looked up at the screen.

You won! You won! You clapped for yourself in happiness as Jing Yuan let out a soft chuckle clapping for you.

your reworked designs are so cool <33 I was wondering how you would rework morro?

So a morro he definitely took the biggest hit because of my sickness so I'll have to elaborate with drawings as time goes on.

The concept of reworking morro is a bit harder than I hoped, because my reworks do effect how the story is written and all my ideas are too ambitious for the fact I'm in midterms. So I reworked morro's fate, if you want a more of "rework so deep that it rewrites s5" then I'll do it in summer break, so yeah stay toon.

(Also yes this is a lmk inspired style, I shouldn't draw sick omg lol)

-how is he back?

Tbh I am not sure tho I know i want him to be brought around dotd but the how is hard to pin point, I like to think of an idea close to "something went wrong as morro was retuning " which caused him to for a lack of a better term to glitch and turn human. He's not fully human ticnicly, morro is in a real reborn human body yes but his glitch caused him to keep some of the goust-nes. The goust remnant show in his goust eye, to show that the new human body and his undead soul are at unity.

-How is he? Where will he go?

He obviously would be confused and scared, I don't believe he would be in the monastery for a long while. I feel he would be in what I call "his tree house" where he trys to clear his mind. He's not isolated just needs time to prosses his emotions. I don't think more will be an official ninja member but more of an ally like dareth.

I like to imagine the gang to call morro because he has mad connections and dirt on people, and morro uses this to be the lovely smug grimlin that he is.

-How does the goust eye works?

Morro can swap between the human form and the goust form, the goust form has the ablity of gousts. Invisibleity, phasing and possesing. He isn't weak to water though, kinda. If morro gets hit with water in his goust form he'll be forced into his human for and can't go goust for about 12 hours.

Morro can go goust as he pleases but it dose tire him out.

-Dose he still have wind?

Yes he still does, still the same

- Design:

I do wana adjust it but let's talk about my ideas. I gave morro a gi that doesn't really match the ninjas or the sensei-s but still feel similar in a way, again like dearth. I plopped up mo's emblem on his gi and I tried to make it look more goat-dragon to separate him from ninjago Western dragon aesthetic but to make his emblem feel more personal. (I love the emblems can you tell?)

This is au category technicaly but I think it's a really fun idea to write, morro is such a great character i miss him and I'll never forget his biggest contribution to the fandom

Character Playlist: Morgan

Happy off-week! Episode 3 is coming out next Monday, so whilst we wait, here's a playlist all about my beloved Morgan Jones. Last time we posted about Dai, (you can find that playlist here), because episode 1 is very much his episode. Episode 2 is Morgan's, and as you might notice, she's on a much darker and spookier path than her found sibling.

Morgan's been through so much. The Cataclysm was awful for everyone, but Morgan was traumatised long before the world ended, and things have just got worse. She is explicitly terrified of her own name in this new world - of what it means and could mean. She so desperately doesn't want to hurt people, and she's so terrified that she will.

Morgan Le Fay! Witch, sister, villain, survivor. Our Morgan is intimately familiar with the story of her namesake, and thinks of Morgan like a witch inside her, or a ghost haunting her. The whole gang have different perspectives on how the Names work, but our Morgan definitely sees it like a curse.

Morgan is very much the moon to Dai's sun. I often think of them like a binary star system - they are completely inextricable from each other, and if they were ever separated they'd both spin out and be lost in chaos. Morgan is more shy than Dai, more reserved. He brings out her lighter side, but she's always aware of the fact that one day that will end.

4. Old Churchyard by The Wailin' Jennys

Everyone's lost people, but Morgan most all. Most traumatically, she saw her younger brother Ben die in front of her - a fresh trauma from which she still hasn't recovered. Morgan doesn't fear death. She's not a practicing Christian (I think she's an atheist) but she sees it as a simple, restful end to a long and painful life. What she does fear is losing people - it's the thing she fears most of all.

We'll learn more about Morgan's childhood later in the series, but suffice it to say that every day of her life, Morgan has gotten up and tried again. For me she's very much that image of hope with bloodied knuckles, forcing herself to stand up and get back into the fight. It isn't easy for Morgan to keep surviving, let alone to keep trying to be happy. But she tries, because Dai loves her, and she loves him, and he reminds her that life is worth living.

The gang don't know if magic is exclusive to the Phenomena, or if it's even magic as we would describe it. They don't know if it's mushroom spores or something alien, science they don't understand, strange divinities or straight up magical powers. They also don't know whether or not Morgan has magic. If she does, it's not presented itself in any way that's obvious to her - beyond her nightmares. But she often has dreams about the monsters they've faced, and it's hard for her to untangle nightmares from trauma from dreams that might be more significant. Part of her worries that somehow she's making things real, and drawing the monsters closer to them.

Morgan's biggest enemy is herself. She's most afraid of herself - and Morgan le Fay. She's terrified of hurting people and losing control. She could be incredible. And even now - she has the capacity for a ferocious kind of burning joy that she has stolen from everyone and everything that's ever tormented her. Morgan has always been kind of terrible at being 'a woman' - whatever that means. She's not demure, she's not obedient, gentle, or agreeable, and she's never been especially feminine. She's always been outspoken, blunt, short-tempered and direct - a woman who acts first and talks later. In the world before, that could be a problem sometimes - something she was insecure about, that made it hard to fit in (though figuring out her queerness helped a lot). In the apocalypse, all of these things are exactly why she survived, and there's a part of her that's determined to snatch a life from the ruins and the ashes.

*A note on Christianity in Camlann - I'm not a practicing Christian, I consider myself agnostic. But because I grew up in a Christian family in the UK, I am culturally Christian. Christianity's been here a long old time, and we don't have a lot of reliable written sources that cover the pre-Christian period. As a result, some of the songs on these playlists contain Christian themes. I hope that isn't too troubling to people. I'm glad you like my art of him! I've been drawing him for 9-ish years now, but it's always nice to hear other fans of his also like my art! I don't actually talk to a lot of Oliver fans haha.

I always really really admired Dappleback/Lawlietlk's designing skill, and I had a whole presentation how much I appreciated his character design and how it lead back into why I think as a vocaloid he has one of the best designs.

Like don't get me wrong, Vocaloid (and other synths) have really good designs, just sometimes they aren't necessarily as good as Vocaloid designs y'know?

Like hear me out, I feel like the biggest appeal of vocaloid mascots is this: They can be whatever you want. Now on one hand you can argue that 'no mascot' is even Moreso freedom and should have worked better than mascot, but what's missing is the intrigue. There is a breeding ground of creativity hidden beneath restriction.

Like, often enough what people need most in order to create something is just a guideline, and for me that's what Oliver offers. Like, sometimes, too much canon is a bad thing, and people need to remember that.

The #1 selling point of Oliver's design is the intrigue his design offers. There's so much of it that once changed loses that 'space of expression.' And yet, no matter how much you are able to change, he also is able to maintain that 'constant' that lets you know that yes, that is still him, even if you change it. I don't have it anymore but it's been years, but I had a whole chart explaining it.

Over the years Oliver has gotten a lot of motifs and concepts assigned to him, that only derive from smaller aspects of his designs, for example: His bandages.

While you may argue it's not entirely unique, that is exactly the beauty of it. It's because of that so many different concepts stem from it.

One of the biggest themes correlated with Oliver is a monster/horror theme and you have the bandages to thank for it. The amount of concepts I've seen born from the sheer mystery of his bandages were so vast it's crazy. Whether it's because he's a cryptid/monster/cursed or otherwise, people are forced to make an effort to use that "why?"

And on the flip side, there is other mysteries people find from his bandages that aren't horror, they're instead going for something else: A poor waif, a vigilante, a witch, and etc. Through the simple [why], Oliver becomes limitless.

And while we're still discussing his bandages, there is elsewhere you can find beauty in his design. I know a lot of his fans are or were children when they became fans of him, and I know for a fact that some of them related to his design. It's not like he had much to go against them in thinking that-- and it's not just because of his song. For me as a child I projected onto him as a (character) as someone I could relate to. That's uh, probably why a lot of people tend to use him for horror or darker stuff. I know that some people are... unsavory, but that's why I don't really like when people hate on horror content made from him. I know a lot of people are weird about him, but it's a form of self-expression all the same.

Even aside from his bandages, his design still manages to offer intrigue. While Miku allows herself to be a blank canvas (being a mascot with very little ties, a digital idol who represents exactly that) Oliver is more like... a puzzle? Except there is no wrong answer and every time you put it together, it's always different.

There was a lot of misconceptions around his design, but Oliver was based off choirboy outfits-- not that everyone knew that. A lot of people interpreted it as a sailor outfit with nautical themes. That's why you can often see Oliver with sea-themed artworks or songs and/or if it's still around, sea-side waif depictions of him. But on the other side, there were quite a few interpretations of Oliver as a time-traveler- a noble- or hell: a literal bird boy.

Had he been given a more generic design, a more modern one, a more idol-esque version of himself, most of these interpretations of him would not exist. There would be less incentive for people to create that answer without the "why."

I don't really have a proper ranking on a more 'objective' ranking of designs as vocaloid specific mascot designs, but I feel like it's somewhat similar to... actual popularity?

Like... If i had to separate them, there's three categories in a venn diagram: Just straight up Good design (though I'd argue a lot of the other two would still fit in here), Fill-in the blank design, and blank canvas design.

I would say the OG Miku fits in all 3 categories but has been erring into just good design or her own category: too engrained into pop culture to fail.

Fukase is a good example of a Fill-in design, because he also has the classic "why" to his design. (Why is his coat like that? why does he have scars? is he human? is he a robot? Is he circus themed? Who knows?) You can see a lot of exploration of his character through that.

Vflower I feel like is primarily in the blank canvas design, because she more-so encompasses a certain fashion style and is able to attract the blank canvas of gender expression as well.

At the moment, to be honest, I can't really think of someone who only fit's in the straight up good character design but doesn't offer any mystery or fluidity, but that might just be my personality.

To be entirely clear, this venn diagram is probably closer to just a single circle instead of 3, but I'm mostly talking about which part of their design they align most with. (and the most common consensus of how to interpret them.

To be honest this is probably why I feel a bit like a Fake Oliver fan, bc I care more about his design more than his voicebank itself. (Sweats as I look at the vocaloid editor on my computer)

Favorite Usage

I'll only be mentioning the publicly released songs using him, since it's a bit unfair if I recommend you something you either have no access to or I'm unable to find again.

To be honest I'm not a huge fan of some of Oliver's most known producers, mostly because I know they're not great people and refuse to support them. It's none of my business if you still listen to them, but I'd rather not. But, It's nice going down my old masterlist of Oliver originals.

I really like Rawbeans-P, if you ever heard her usage of Oliver, it's crazy stunning. Probably some of the best usage of him you'll ever hear.

Cat in a raincloud I know is relatively popular among my friends that I've pushed Robyn's music onto.

I feel like high up there is also Corasundae, who is honestly has a pretty refreshing (?) song-making style. I'm really not a music guy- meaning I never learnt a lot of terms properly and can't describe a lot of things to you, but I really like the general sound that corasundae uses in her works.

I think T.V.V.S is a pretty iconic song, but I'm emotionally attached to Other Side.

One of the songs I see people rarely talking about is Requiescat in Pace- I get it's probably because it's an older song, but I've always liked how it sounded and was a staple for me as a kid (and still fairly fresh into Vocaloid.) I don't think PARADIGM really released much else, but this song is sooo cool, I think about it a lot!

I'm not sure if you don't like horror, or just disappointed that it's a majority of his songs, but I don't think it's leaning too much into horror? It's really good though!

Another one of my favorite Vocaloid producers (the one I bought a keychain from as well!) is Veran Kuriensu! I found them originally from their original Lay, and it's possibly still one of my favorite Vocaloid Oliver Originals still to this day. While it's my favorite, I do know that they've improved drastically and their other works with Oliver is crazy good, but Lay has a special spot to me and makes me feel especially Nostalgic.

I've always liked how the lyrics sounded as well. I think otherwise my second favorite song from them is 星をあつめに. It's really good I Promise. Please please do give their stuff a chance!!

I feel like another producer I'd recommend for similar reasons to Rawbeans-P is Baggagelizard. He's always forever been kind of a legend to me! He's a super cool guy, and he has really good usage of Oliver's voicebank as well. One of my favorite songs he's done is Song for the forgotten, which was even my Oliver Collab piece back in like... 2016? That's honestly a bit crazy to me seeing how long it's been.

Baggagelizard tends to have such a special sound to the music he makes, I think it's kind of... a morose wistfulness? If you're into this one, I genuinely hope you check out his other works as well!

Actually I'm adding this one, because I really like the atmosphere of it! It's called Tavern and it's a really fun song using Big Al, Oliver, and Kaito and I think it's such a fun song! Apparently other Oliver fans I've recommended it said it wasn't their cup of tea though (′д｀σ)σ.

OH and how could I forget: Childhood Bye-Bye is honestly borderline a classic for me! I think it's a really iconic song, but it always surprises me that it's not as popular as I think it is. The producers other works are also really good!

Oooh, another Producer I can recommend is Compasscat! They use Uni, SeeU, and sometimes Oliver (maybe other vocaloids but I'm actually writing this in class (lol). You should try checking them out! I think I enjoyed it but I've been told the things I like are... different from how other people like things.

Actually, on the thought of not-so dark songs using Oliver, I hardly see any Oliver fans (or Yohioloid) fans talking about Yellow Card. I hadn't listened to it for years, but I still think it's pretty fun to this day, you could try checking it out if you feel like it. While we're at it, I'll add a bunch of special mentions for songs I knew were fairly liked enough when I was deeper into vocaloid but never see people talk about anymore as well. To be honest, I'd have a lot more to add to this list, but a lot of Oliver Originals I really liked are deleted or missing.... I understand it's at the producer's own discretion, but it's a little sad.

Unfortunately, A lot of the Bilibili/Niconico songs that I really liked were deleted or really really hard to access/find, but I'll reblog if I find them again.

Hiya! I notice you’ve played a lot of dnd rangers just like me! I wanted to ask what draws you towards the class? what do you enjoy about the class? And what do you think is the classes identity what makes a ranger ?

I’ve played swarmkeeper feywanderer horizon walker drakewarden and gloomstalker, I’m drawn towards the class in part because I’m a Ranger irl it’s my day job, but I also love the jack of all trades support vibe of the class it doesn’t excel anywhere but can help every class with a little bit of something and I view the classes identity as the professional adventurer someone who spends their life balancing the threats of the world whether that be the threats of the wild the monsters who inhabit it or the people who cross it, balancing their needs, kinda like Geralt of rivia balancing the needs of “monsters” and people, they work to make the world a safer better place picking up whatever skills and magic help them survive, I also note that every dnd class is either some form of Hunter or Tamer, the gloomstalker, horizon walker ,hunter and monster slayer, hunt the creatures of the wild, while the drakewarden, the swarmkeeper, the beast master and the fey wanderer spend their time befriending and taming the monsters of the wild. I don’t mean to answer my own question but I’m interested as someone who’s played the ranger just as much as me how your opinions may differ (I also especially love your borrower style ranger the little fellow is so cute and very well drawn)

hi!! Fun fact, i actually havent played any rangers 🥴 I'm the kinda dnd player who plays in like 2-3 campaigns but makes like 50 ocs. ASDFJKSDJF (I've only played a cleric and a barbarian in campaigns, but for oneshots I've tried every race) Id love to play one, but its kinda hard to do that for a oneshot since so much of the ranger class is dependent on favoured terrain/knowing your surroundings and levelling.

This is SUCH a fun ask because I LOVE the ranger class for its very niche yet versatile character archetype. I think if there's one type of word I could use to describe a ranger is a survivalist — the rangers that I do have, a handful of them are fashioned after Scouts/parkrangers (because....I was one.) or famous character types that do a lot of adventuring like cowboys, pirates, explorers etc. — if I'm being honest, ranger is the most 'adventurer' type there is!

(as a note here, i know pointy hat has mentioned a ranger's big thing was an animal companion -- i think?? IDR -- which is like a fun take. I really like his stuff, but i feel like a class shouldn't be bound to smth like a pet. any class can have pets!)

To use my own as an example, I have a bounty hunter devil cowboy (monster slayer), a princess-mononoke-ish Artemis huntress (hunter), a HouYi type ancient hero with 3-legged crows (swarmkeeper), an Indiana jones style explorerer (horizon walker) and a borrower (beast master). I really love the idea of all of them being really different but all being excellent survivalists and navigators!

Im a big fan of rangers that have fighting styles other than archery too. I think archery is awesome for the fighting style, but having duelist (like the borrower) or dueling (monster hunter) gives it an extra bit of flavour to just "class that wields a bow". it also sets them apart from a fighter bc in my head a fighter is more military while a ranger is more solitary. It establishes them as a martial class for sure, but its so versatile and has that edge that comes with dex-based instead of str-based.

I particularly like monster slayer bc to me that was very like...witcher-y. The cowboy is a monster slayer with favoured foes as humanoids bc he only tracks humanoids (bounties), which is some fun flavouring. There's a lot of customization! To clarify, there's a lot of room for flavour, but not as much choice for character builds (like, mechanically, at least compared to stuff like warlocks.)

The addition of magic also helps give it some class distinction :0

TLDR: mixes the best aspects of rogues and fighters with LOTS of room for flavour text.

I've seen so many people in the fandom completely characterize him and it drives me NUTS. No, he isn't just a sadist. No, he isn't inherently good. For fuck's sake, no, he isn't just "misunderstood."

Jouno genuinely does not "care about everyone deep down." He IS a sadist, he enjoys seeing people in pain, being tortured, but that's not all of it.

He doesn't give two fucks about good and bad or morals. I'm sure, being a part of the hunting dogs and everything, Jouno has had ideals of justice and morality impressed upon him, and he understands those concepts, he just doesn't care.

I'd like to just draw a parallel between him and Dazai really quickly. Both of them are considerably morally gray, that's widely accepted. However, in this comparison the difference is illustrated really well; Dazai spent a lot of time in the port mafia, right?

During his time in the PM, Dazai has tortured people numerous times (see his conversation with Kouyou) but that was all for a purpose. Dazai tortured people for his own gain, to reach his goals; Jouno does it just because, for his entertainment. Dazai also understands the concept of morality, and he's constantly trying to become a better person like Oda wanted. Dazai cares about good and bad, and right and wrong to a point.

Jouno, on the other hand, doesn't. Though he's part of the HD, and his job is literally in the pursuit of justice, he doesn't care. He does his job not out of pride for what he does, nor does he strive to become a better person.

Sorry, that was a lot but it drives me crazy when people call him misunderstood or not really a bad guy.

My next point is about the better (?), or the side of Jouno that we associate more with good. His character development, so to say, can be seen in chapter 92.5 (i think? correct me if i'm wrong), when he saves the old woman.

I think he honestly felt appreciated by her, and that caused a major change in his psyche, or at least, triggered it. In all these years of working as a hunting dog, I'm sure that somewhat subconsciously, a sense of justice has reached him. Yes, it isn't very strong, yes, we don't see it much, and yes, it hasn't stopped him from continuing to do horrible things, but it is still there nonetheless.

This just shows part of his motivation, or why he betrayed Fukuchi at the airport. The smallest sense of justice he felt drove him to arguably save the world.

And finally, this is more speculation than fact, but I think this betrayal also seemed like redemption to Jouno. Think about it: Jouno KNOWS that what he does and feels is "wrong" by society's standards, he just doesn't care (i just wrote 6 paragraphs about this help-), but the smallest bit of morality, along with how he felt at the bank, drove him to move a little towards good.

All his life, Jouno was aware of how twisted and horrifying his nature is, and I think he started to see himself as a monster or inhuman at some point (to be fair, the hunting dogs ARE inhuman, because of the surgeries and whatnot). This was his atonement.

I love reading and drawing agere content. I had a really tough start in life so this community gives me comfort.

Maya

Maya is my Hazbin Hotel oc. She died in her early 20's and her soul went to hell, her demon form having both wolf and sheep traits.

She has adhd, autism, ocd, and severe anxiety. She was never diagnosed in life and found out in hell.

She started regressing after dying. It was completely involuntary and it scared horribly because she had no idea what was going on. Her headspace being so young didn't help either. Charlie had to explain to her what age regression was after finding her hiding under her bed, she was crying and obviously regressed.

She was really embarrassed at first. She wasn't used to people taking care of her, but everyone was encouraging her to regress often to deal with her trauma.

Her little age is 0-3, so she sometimes struggles with walking and talking. She also needs protection, something she hates when is in the older range of her headspace. When she is younger she doesn't seem to care.

She is normally a very calm regressor. She likes color, watch cartoons, and cuddle with her caregivers while being read to.

Her favorite caregivers are Vaggie and Husk, since they seem to understand her better than anyone else. She loves being with all the hotel staff though...except Alastor. He creeps her out and may end up bursting into tears if she is left alone with him.

Background:

Maya comes from a broken family. Her mom was cold, distant, and had severe mental issues that made her agressive. Maya, being the eldest of 5 siblings, had to basically raise herself and her little siblings all on her own when she was still a small child. She never met her father. He was arrested soon after she was born. He was charged with murder.

The town she lived in was small and word spread fast. Everyone was aware of her living situation and her father's sins, so she was mercilessly bullied throughout her life. She was always in emotional and physical pain. Kids were cruel, and were always trying to get a reaction out of her. To prove that behind her shy, scared and harmless appearance, there was a monster hiding inside of her. Like a wolf ready to pounce.

As she turned into an adult people her age stopped bothering her so much, just giving her nasty looks from time to time or completely ignoring her.

Maya was never a bad person. She was a loving sister, was always kind, and tried to keep a positive attitude even when people where awful to her. She was constantly smiling and trying to help others, even when her intrusive thoughts were always screaming that she was a monster and no matter how hard she tried or how guilty she felt, she would always be a horrible person.

Her life ended in a traffic accident. She was heading home after college when a reckless driver hit her. She didn't even flinch, she was convinced that she deserved death. The reason she went to hell and not heaven was because she deeply believes she doesn't deserve paradise.

She now currently lives in the Hazbin Hotel, where Charlie and all the original residents are trying to help her to go to heaven.

Hi I just wanna say I love your redesigns for the creepypasta characters! I'm curious what weapons does each character use and what abilities do they have if they have any?

Thank you! Some of these mfs I have been very unsure about. I need to draw their other outfits. Like their fancy lil suits. Slenderman has a dress code for his proxys however the rules of it are not super strict. They can wear what they like so long as it meets his criteria. (Gonna be hard to draw Wilson ina suit without making him look like some kinda wanna be joker :o( )

This is gonna seem unnecessarily long but I feel like I do need to explain a few things about how Slendermans Proxys work in PM as well as how living humans are affected by just being in the underworld because it isn't made for living humans.

There's also as far as weapons go that, while they DO have weapons they ENJOY to use most, Slenderman is very particular about how things are done so they don't always get to use them. Proxys are more like Hitman or assassins (at least Slendermans are). I'll give some faves for each of the 3 main fuckers living with Slendy (who aren't 100% OCs) currently as I'm still figuring out anyone else who may show up (I have plans for EJ to show up and potentially may start working on my own version of Toby as well as a few other OCs who are Proxys for other Opporaters in the Underworld)

As for abilities I think even the humans have at least one natural ability. Humans who get hurt in the underworld don't really always heal like they should because they aren't meant to live there. When a monsters that live down there hears "human" In the context of someone living there. They assume that you mean someone who died and is now living there as an undead. They assume Zombie or Ghost, potentially even a poltergeist. But never just a breathing living human. So when living humans do get hurt the same "magical grid" (for lack of better words) keeping them from dying also heals serious injuries in a way to try and prevent the same injury from happening. It's a whole thing and I'll explain how it works with each character (in this post specifically Jeff and Wilson)

That being said I'll stop rambling and actually answer the fuckin question!

I will put a trigger warning for things like blood and mentions of self harm and mild body horror(?) (I think ripping flesh counts for that if not for mild blood/gore this is specifically for Jeff split mouth. Not sure anyone will be bothered but better safe than sorry.)

Jeffrey DuBois

Weapons - Jeff enjoys using knives mostly (shocker!) however he doesn't use them a lot while actually doing Proxy work. In fact he most commonly will just SNIPE a mf. He doesn't particularly LIKE when his job is that quick or easy but hes also not complaining, it's easy money. (Jeff the killer with a gun is also just really fucking funny to think about). he's always stoked when told that he won't be able to kill from a range though and that he'll have to actually get close and personal. But him not being able to kill with knives doesn't mean he doesn't still use them. Killing is his job but cooking is his passion and for him the two go very hand in hand.

Abilities- Jeff is just a human guy like I said so his Mouth scars didn't heal normally. He got them just before getting to the underworld and they were only partially healed but in his early days with Slenderman he did end up making them even worse. When they healed however he found out shortly after that he could reopen them and close them at will and it didn't hurt. In short his mouth can open up similar to a snakes. I've drawn it before in a previous Ref sheet, here's how it looks.

Other abilities he has are really just because of training. Though he does tend to accidentally sneak up on people despite the fact hes fucking HUGE. Man just doesn't make sound when he enters a room and it's not really an intentional thing. He will seemingly just pop up out of nowhere like a spooky ass ghost.

WILSON CROSS

Weapons - He likes machetes. That's really all there is to say. Wilson is still in training at the Institute and unlike Jeff he doesn't care as much about the professionalism Slenderman insist his Proxys have. While he follows his rules he does try and find ways around them because he is actually trying to make things fun for himself.

Abilities - Like Jeff, Wilson is human. He's been in the underworld for FAR longer, he grew up down there and has a couple different things the biggest being that after coming through the well that brought him to the underworld Wilson DID fall into the river Styx and was found and pulled out of it By Frankie and Jackie. If your familiar with how the River Styx works you know anyone who falls in that shit gets the Curse of Achilles. Which probably sounds fucking WILD. The obvious upside is that hes just really fucking hard to stop. The man seemingly just doesn't feel much pain. However even in the underworld where he won't die he still if hit in the right spot will go down like a bag of bricks and he's not getting up until he's had time to heal. Which can take a few days. If he's in the over world he WILL just fucking DIE. So he has to be a Lot More careful up there. Imagine you just trip and fall the wrong way and fucking DIE. Aside from that though he can bend and turn and just overall move in weird ways due to the amount of bones he's broken growing up in the underworld and how they healed weird like with Jeff's mouth and of course Wilson being an idiot. Seriously, some of the stories he has are just summed up to him being a dumbass. Only a couple people who know his weakness aside from Jackie and Frankie is Jeff.

Jackie Ragzdale

Weapons - While they technically do work for Slenderman they aren't actually proxy however they do still kill on occasion for personal reasons and funniest shit I just thought it was silly is that they will use various weapons however Jackie is a Toyfolk and thus all their weapons are made IN TOY LAND. So they might pull a shot gun out of their box, sure but it's going to LOOK like a toy. It won't LOOK real. It's gonna look like a full-sized toy shotgun but it is in every aspect a REAL ASS GUN. And I just find that so funny. And they ALSO find it funny. They will go "STICK EM UP THIS A ROBBERY!" Knowing damn well no one is gonna think that's a real ass gun and then laugh at their surprise when they shoot and it's revealed to be a real ass fucking gun! This is made worse when you take into account they do just have Prop/fake weapons in there as well so sometimes they will just fuck with people by using a fake one and being like "Haha gotcha!" In short they like Toy weapons that are real weapons but look like fake ones.

Abilities -Compared to the original cannon LJ, Ragz doesn't have nearly as many abilities. They have 3 different forms though.

They have a Toy Decoy, which is basically exactly what it sounds like where they just are a seemingly normal inanimate toy, this is for when they're in their box but either not home, busy, or just simply don't want to come out of it.

The second form is a smaller doll like form. Which lets them appear as a regular toy but still be able to move around. They usually use it to scare people who don't know they're alive. Other times they use the doll form is when they need to hide, are hella tired, or when dealing with children. They often are in the form when spending time with Sally.

The 3rd form is the form they most usually are in.

Other than that they can very easily switch out their body parts. They want different arms they can just swap them if they want. They do have to be made with materials from toyland to work properly however.

That's all as far as the main character who are technically Rewrites who use weapons or have abilities right now. Everyone else is either an OC or I'm still developing/designing and coming up with their backstory.
