More metal nya! Post s7 edition

Here is more of metal nya au sketches, this time some ideas of how shell look like post og era nya.

I mainly wanted to draw her outfit but I did try to come up with thier updated emblem because I love these buggers. I went with a bull because I liked the idea of her using her raw strength to run at people with her weapons lol, its also kinda of a reference for nya's hot headed tendency.

I'd like to think the main weapon they make is the blade bunggers she had as samurai x because they are really unique and so nya iconic.

Her hair is more roughed up version of her pre s7 hair but with long....hair dohickys? (She dose have more here). I gave her the hair clips because I thought it would make her hair look more interesting as well as to look like bull horns.

She has a tiny pouch on her arm so she can use them to mold her weapons to attack and take off some strain of off her.

why is lloyds gi sleeveless/has a different sleeve design than the rest? tbh i can see kai and cole taking their sleeves off but not so much lloyd..

are there any meanings/inspiration the sash designs + end tassles come from or are they just Aesthetic? same question for nya and jays gloves!!!

Yeyeye! I can answer all of them :))))

1. I have a. story for Kai’s arm, it’s got to do with my oc Akako in my AU! It’s around the finale of Season 2, when they’re on the Dark Island. Akako wants to prove to Garmadon that she’s good enough to keep (maybe there’s a conflict or a threat that the Overlord/Garmadon will leave her on the Dark Island while they return to ninjago.) So this time she doesn’t hold back, and neither do the ninja considering she’s been a thorn in their side for some time.

They aren’t exactly aware of her element, and how it works until it’s too late. Any damage she takes she can use it against others, though at the cost of her having to deal with those wounds. This includes elements (if she was struck by Jay she can zap him back ❤️)

Thus, Kai attempts to finish her off once and for all, and stabs her with his sword (im pretty sure their weapons at the time can harness their elements). Akako while decently hurt, uses this as a final opportunity to attack before fleeing (or before going insane who knows (i don’t)). She attempts to absolutely incinerate him but he’s only able to dodge so much and gets burnt really badly on his arm. He takes the gap between season 2 and season 3 (maybe even up until 4) to recover properly. And when she eventually does get her goofy redemption arc he’s the last person to trust her.

As for his gold tooth I’d imagine he got it knocked out around season 5 and got the gold filler before or at the start of season 6 to show off honestly. I think it suits him 🦐

2. Lloyds gi is sleeveless because i thought it’d look decent enough 💀 He’s admittedly a little thinner/lankier than the others though so I might go back to him wearing a tank top or something underneath. He does have gloves that go really high up his arms, so he’s covered up a little bit. Those are just concept sketches I made on a whim however, I’m working on the proper reference as we speak :)

3. There’s somewhat of a connection yes :) Though i need to figure out the plot reason behind it, I do know that they’re based off the tassels of Akako

The season I’m making that those gi appear in is a season based around her, so I thought it’d be neat for their designs to all tie together!

I actually did take a bit of inspiration from Sky: Children of Light, and their cape outfits. There’s a certain cape with tassels coming from them and I thought that’s be cool to incorporate and personalise for each ninja. It’s also a callback to back in 2017/2018 where when I drew them as silly little stickmen I liked to draw their tassels differently! Akako is a reworked oc from back then as well (vomits)

Nya and Jays gloves are more of an aesthetic choice for me, but I do take a lot of inspiration from steven universe and their designs sometimes. With Nya specifically I loved the one fingered gloves that Sardonyx from Steven Universe wear :)

4. That is indeed a Cole man bun he has too much hair for his own good

So idk if this is normal to talk about in this fandom but I have made a ninjago oc. I plan to use her in multiple au’s that I’m workshopping. So far she’s gunna definitely play a big role in my darklys kai au, but her role in my other au’s isn’t determined yet. Those au’s aren’t even on this site rn so idk why I’m talking about it. But here’s some base info.

Casiana “Cassie” Saga

Age range thru out darklys kai au: 17-25

Em: fiction

Looks: average hight. Dark blue eyes that almost look black in certain lighting. Strawberry blonde butt legth hair that is half up in a bun. Hair is very fluffy but not curly, fluffy bangs. Thin cheeks button nose. Freckles. Thin eyes. She has a big scar on her nose, and some smaller ones on her face and over her body. A bit plump, but not over weight. Tends to wear a midnight blue velvet dress that looks like one a village Maiden in a fairy tail would wear but kinda modernized. Brown boots.

Description: a girl who loves stories and fairytales. She believes that heroes exist in the real world and it’s her solemn duty to ensure they become great. Believes if she doesn’t “help” them people will never be saved. She is the elemental master of fiction. She can make an illusion of anything that is fictional story. She doesn’t like conflict and prefers people to do her dirty work for her.

Here’s some picrews I made because I have zero art skills

Her hair is supposed to be more strawberry blond color but they didn’t have that in the picrew so I did the closest color. He dress is Also supposed to be a darker blue.

Again the hair isn’t the right color, and she is supposed to have a bun but they only had two buns and not one. Also that’s her pet ferret, his name is fern. She likes to put him in little outfits. Like prince or princess outfits and then acts out little stories with him. She also tends to post them online.

There’s more stuff about her but that’s unique to my darklys kai au, and I wanna keep that a secret until I get further in that story. That’s all I have about her for now.

WIP for Morro’s Second Chance AU!

Here’s a little blurb from one of my projects! As you can tell its for the Second Chance AU :D

Morro was holding two boxes of Capri-Suns.

Lloyd had come to Mei Mei’s General Store to stock up some necessities before his study group for Civics class arrived at the apartment. The professor managed to make the most interesting things about Ninjago’s history and governmental system sound like a to-do list. To thwart off boredom and failing the class, he and his classmates and roommates formed a study group. But he’s getting off track.

Morro was holding two boxes of Capri-Suns in aisle six.

Lloyd stood there frozen, knuckles white as he gripped his grocery basket. He had to be hallucinating. Morro was gone. Dead. Very very dead; laid to rest after the eclipse on the Day of the Departed those years ago.

But he wasn’t. Morro was here, not dead, standing in aisle six and wrinkling his nose and furrowing his brow as he tried to decide between fruit punch or coastal cooler Capri-Suns.  

He was tanned instead of the ghostly pale green he had been, lean instead of the starved figure that haunted his nightmares occasionally, and he had a beard instead of the clean-shaven sunken cheeks—was Lloyd jealous that a dead man had better facial hair no was nOT—Morro was all these things but he was still, quite clearly, the ass that possessed him a couple years ago.

Same dark hair with that awful green streak, but instead of falling to his shoulders, it was tied up into a bun. Same dark green eyes, but instead of the foggy cloud he saw before, Morro’s eyes held a clarity that almost convinced Lloyd that this was just a guy with an uncanny resemblance. But other than those differences, it was the way the guy swore to high heaven when he dropped one of the boxes on his foot that sealed it for Lloyd.

As Morro had been in Lloyd’s head, Lloyd was in Morro’s… to an extent. Morro swore often and violently. He indirectly taught Lloyd words that he was pretty sure Kai didn’t even know. However, after that hailstorm of swears vile enough to make even Ronin blush, Lloyd watched as Morro stopped, muttered a soft “damn it” and replaced those words with a more censored version. The box was still on his foot.

“What the hell,” Lloyd whispered in a mixture of horror, bewilderment, and disbelief. “What the absolute hell.”

Morro turned his head so fast Lloyd yelped in alarm, which caused Morro to drop the other box on his other foot in shock and surprise. “OH S—” Morro—definitely Morro, minus the creepy echo he had before— hollered at the top of his lungs and leapt back in pain, cradling his freshly injured foot. Lloyd could only blink as two pairs of green eyes met each other.

Morro’s new complexion rapidly paled and his mouth moved wordlessly. He carefully set his foot back down and fiddled with his leather jacket. Lloyd stared at the black graphic tee that had a little green ghost that said “Just here for the boos” on Morro’s person, his face morphing from shocked to carefully blank.

“You’re not dead.” Lloyd felt numb as the words tumbled out of his mouth. The turbulent emotions that rolled in his chest became muted and grey. He could imagine dial-up noises occurring in his mind.

Morro appeared to be facing a similar situation. If Lloyd wasn’t so numb, he’d be amused at how Morro was gaping like a fish. Finally, the not ghost Morro managed to get a grip on his words. “I…yes. Yes, I am not dead.” Morro looked less confused than Lloyd wanted to feel, but slowly the world comes back into color. Slowly.

Lloyd only blinked in response, waiting for Morro to continue.

He doesn’t.

Lloyd stared at —His enemy? Cousin? Captor? — Morro for another minute before his throat works properly again. “And…” Lloyd’s mouth felt uncomfortably dry. “…How are you…?” Alive? Here?

Morro refused to look Lloyd in the eye again and shrugged. “I’m not sure… yet.”

Lloyd quirked his brow in disbelief. The pressure in his chest he didn’t realize was there started to wane. “Somehow, I doubt that.” Despite his mind screaming at him to not let down his guard, his body relaxes. They are in a public place. If Morro was going to make a move, he would have done so earlier. Besides, you can’t possess people if you’re not a ghost. Lloyd was reasonably, somewhat safe.

Morro sputtered in offense before huffing and picking up his Capri-Sun boxes. “Doesn’t matter what you think, brat. What matters is some weird crap happened, I’m here, and I don’t want to be pestered by the pajama party. So, you stay out of my way, I’ll stay out of yours.”

Night fell over ninjago city, stood a young man with dark reddish-brown hair in a low bun and freckles stood a bit far away from a tea shop staring at the door intently fiddling with the collar of his red and purple kimono.

He hesitated a few more minutes letting out a soft hiss he walked the last few steps towards the door reach out for the handle and opened it.

he was immediately hit with all the aroma from the tea however it did nothing to ease his nerves Behind the counter sat a woman who for whatever reason always has scared him even though she has never harmed him

Clouse cleared his throat "good evening I Uh.. I n-need some healing tea and and" he wince "and some that can help me with my anxiety "

Mystake looked up from her tea at the young man across from her, she put the cup down slowly So so painfully slowly But worst of all she Never broke eye contact with him, His instinct was going crazy telling him to fight or flight

Chen was always the one who bought the tea for him this was the first time without his master here. Clouse bit his lower lip nervously This was a bad idea he thought to himself Unfortunately Chen was off visiting some friends and even Garmadon had gone off to visit his brother (He wouldn't trust Garm anyway)

leaving him alone in the monastery Which meant he had to buy his own tea Cursed himself for setting his supply of tea on fire It was an accident of course but a stupid one

He was tired and in pain and just wanted to go home

Finally the cup touch the table Mystake smiled at him her eyes crinkling "I don't sell tea for anxiety but I do have healing tea" she broke eye contact when she went looking for something

"If you want that tea for your anxiety you have to go to the black market." She turned back around and put bags filled with tea leaves and a piece of a map on the table.

"T-thanks thank you " He put the coins on the table grabbing the items and tried not to run out of the shop before the door closed behind him he heard Mystake say "have a pleasant day little Dragon" With the tone of someone Who knew more about him than he did.

This is just my little headcanon for Clouse & Dragon hybrid AU.

when he was younger he would sometimes stutter especially in situations he was uncomfortable with, he hates it when it happens he feels people don't take him seriously

it got better when he grew older Skylord has only heard him stutter 3 times.

Despite being a hybrid he has all the instincts of a Dragon However Clouse doesn't understand what it's trying to tell him leaving him confused and angry at himself when he doesn't know why he behaved like that.

Garmadon Oni side is still dormant at this point but there is just enough that Clouse is apprehensive around Garm

But Mystake he's terrified of her and he doesn't even know why.

My fellow dareth enjoyers dareth won the water elemental master poll for my metal nya au. Now unlike my other post I don't have a set in stone lore or lore ideas, doesn't help I got sick woohoo. So I'll talk about the design.

Fun fact I originally started sketching this in brown so this gi started as a brown one, it looked neat so I saved it in case I wanted to make an actual brown ninja dareth in the future (if you would like to see that lmk). While designing this I decided to use the same gi design principle of nya and metal nya's gi-s but I changed the black parts to brown to make it feel more dareth-y, yes this does kinda make him the oddball but that kinda also intentional.

I gave dareth's gi pants that cowboy thing that dareth has in his og design.

I gave him this style of glove which I normally wouldn't do because they're the mark of....a special person (wink) for now for lore reasons dareth is allowed to have them by me.

I chose this blue because its the complamtary color of his brown, but also because its not close to my nya or jay design. I gave him heels because he ~💅, I put the pattern all over his gi unlike nya's.

I feel like dareth is alright with using his power but absolutely exhales when put in a stressful situation or when definding someone  (which is cannon), he dumb, he will jump to action without thinking. I like to think his room is so aesthetic with a cowboy hat as a decoration. No reason. Just cowboy.

Emer

- “Firstbourne” is what the people of the First Realm called her, as she never actually gave her name until after helping Wu and the ninja.

- While not actually the mother of all dragons, she is the queen, so its easy to see how the mixup could happen.

- Big lesbian, has hella heart eyes for Faith.

- As primary ruler of the dragons she dresses pretty fancy.

- Though a natural leader she’s still a pretty big dork and adores her twin brother more than anything else.

- Those horns aren’t like, actual horns. They’re ornamental and help keep her bun in place/are kept in place by her bun.

Dareth

- “Brown Ninja” is a name he gave himself and nobody in the First Realm ever called him that. Dragons can’t actually learn spinjitzu either.

- Despite spending most of his time in Ninjago he doesn’t always grasp human cues very well. The kind of butting in that is typical with dragons is often disliked by humans, but he doesn’t care to change.

- He can only use his draconic powers when in partial or full dragon form, so he forgoes usefulness most times in favor of keeping his secret.

- In Ninjago only Ronin knows his secret, and due to his age and dragon eye he helps apraise the antiques Ronin picks up.

- He tells his sister he changes names to avoid suspicion but really he doesn’t. It’s always Dareth.

Cerin

- Known as “The Dark Dragon” by people of the First Realm and “That Guy (derogatory)” by Dareth and Emer.

- Not related to them, but was granted status as a draconic ruler. A status that Emer and Dareth plan to take away once they find a suitable replacement.

- He just really hates humans and would like to see them destroyed in all realms. Does not mix well with the others who are quite keen on protecting them.

- Rarely in human form, currently locked away in a specially built prison made by Dareth and Emer.

The blanket she’s had on her lap the whole interview is soon pulled off by Skylor revealing it to be a set of orange robes. She puts it on revealing a logo on the chest with a cartoonishly designed snake with googly eyes glued to it. After putting the robes on she puts the hood up and cackles.]

Skylor: Yep! Danger noodle supremacy!

Design D was the most popular but after reading comments and consulting my friends I decided to mesh the elements of designs A and D that people liked. It took some attempts to find a nice middle ground also time to actually draw it (see my last post why)
