Some hogcanons. notes (me rambling) under the cut

So silver was the reason i wanted to make this in the first place despite him looking the most on model (not entirely obviously, but i don't have many hcs for him). Mostly i wanted to draw his height compared to the other hedgehogs since him being freakishly tall despite being younger than sonic and shadow is funny. I saw someone say hes probably the most conventionally attractive hedgehog and i think that's true, hes a pretty boy and his fur/quills are really sleek and well maintained. The fluff on his chest is less spikey and more fluffy looking plus i put some fluff in his ears as well. I think his paws and nails are black and he doesn't wear eyeliner his lashes are just really long and hes got black markings on his eyes. Coming back to this after writing Amy's desc but i think hes genderqueer in some way idk maybe bigender i need to study him under a microscope some more every character i touch becomes transgender

Sonic has a few more added details, i like giving him a little nick in his ear and top surgery scars because that hog is trans. I haven't really seen many people give him stylized top surgery scars surprisingly, i tried to make his look kind of lightning bolty because uh something about him being fast. idk man. i think i imagined its similar to what itd look like for him to run in a zigzag? whatever i think it looks cool. I think his claws are kind of uneven and he doesn't really care too much about how they look especially since he just has them under gloves most of the time

Amy is fat because i said so, also i gave her wavier quills and heart markings everywhere. Her ears might look a little strange since it like implies her skin is making that heart shape but i imagine thats her fur spiking into the point. Her nails are painted the same red that shadows markings and stuff are mostly because i think them being besties is cute like. i see shadamy as a queer platonic relationship. Theyve always been my favorites im going to to make them as close as i want. Anyway, i think she and sonic are tied for having the shortest ears, and hers are the rounest (might make them even rounder the next time i draw her) also not entirely related to her design but i think shes transfem and genderfluid.

Shadow my son. im taking custody from black doom and gerald. anyway, i have the most headcanons for him because he is my absolute favorite guy ever he rots my brain. I think he and Amy are the same height, his rocket shoes are like platform/heels and so when he has them on he looks like Sonic's height or maybe a teeny tiny bit taller. I give his quills extra little spikes for no reason other than i think its cute, i could bullshit that its a black arms thing but idrc. What are black arms things though are his eyes and claws, his scelera is a more yellow compared to everyone elses (jaundiced as my friend put it. thanks endy) and i didn't draw it but his pupils are slits. Claws are long but are even longer when all the way out (retractable) his gloves are thick enough that he doesn't pierce them but he probably has a few spare pairs. Also not pictured but black arms related: his teeth are fucking razors, larger than the other hedgehogs and also serrated because i think thats cool. his tail is the longest out of all of them though i think it used to be longer but was lopped off in the name of science and never properly grew back. also his inhibitor rings are connected to a sort of device that does the task of being a proper gateway between his internal energy and the rings themselves, i didn't draw them but essentially its like a smaller ring that is embedded into his wrists i think. also hes trans but in a sort of alien way, i think the black arms can do the clownfish genderswap thing and shadow has it to a somewhat lesser degree its like an internal tshot i guess idfk

I just wanted to talk somewhere about how much the relationships in Trigun and specifically Vashwood mean to me as an aromantic person.

I want to start out by saying that I have seen that for some aromantic people the term « queer platonic relationship » still doesn’t perfectly define what our close relationships are like, and I also feel this way, but I will be using that term in this for now since it’s the closest we have for the moment.

I say this because to me the relationship between Vash, Wolfwood, Meryl and Millie feels like what I would want in a qpr. They all obviously love and care about each other deeply in a way that can be interpreted as more than friends but isn’t exactly romantic either. And I love that Nightow never explicitly confirms any of the possible romantic relationships in the story to be such, because that means it is totally possible that these characters love each other this deeply without any romantic attraction.

Vashwood specifically is so incredibly important to me in this way. I was discovering I was aromantic at the exact same time as I was reading Trigun Maximum, and Vash and Wolfwood’s relationship honestly helped me realize I was aro because I realized it was possible to love in the same way as these two do without it being romantic. Nightow wrote them in such a way that the reader can choose to interpret whether they are platonic or romantic but that either way they love each other deeply, to the point that I have seen many describe them as soulmates. I personally describe their relationship as something deeper than friends but not necessarily romantic.

Reading about their relationship reminded me of exactly how I experience love for the people in my life and helped me a lot in not feeling sad when I finally realized I don’t experience romantic attraction. Because I already experience a lot of love that falls into this category and I don’t need romance to be happy.

On the more headcanon side, since the relationship is open to interpretation, I have kind of taken to imagining Vashwood/just the whole team as my ideal qpr where they are all platonic but sometimes have sex about it. I don’t often feel like the shipping communities in fandom are friendly enough for me to talk about a headcanon like this, but with Trigun I have found so many of the shippers to be so friendly and accepting of specifically the multishipping and the trans headcanons for the characters that I hope that maybe my qpr headcanon would be accepted as well.

Sherlock Holmes: Aro-Spec, A-Spec, Gay Icon

What is Sherlock Holmes' orientation?

Asexual? Aromantic? Homosexual/romantic? Why not all three?

Something I've noticed during my time in this fandom is that people can't always agree on what Sherlock's sexual/romantic orientation is. Most people say that he's gay, some people say that he's ace. These two headcanons are rarely paired together.

I've seen people who think he's asexual be called homophobic because it feels like it's taking away from the gay representation they get from Johnlock. What they don't appear to realize is that asexual people can still have romantic or even sexual relationships. It also seems that people confuse being asexual with being aromantic a lot. Asexuality and aromanticism are not the same thing.

(There are lots of people who don't ship Johnlock, and either ship Sherl with someone else or with no one and that's valid! I personally am a Johnlock shipper)

Asexuality is defined as a lack of sexual attraction and Aromanticism is defined as a lack of romantic attraction. Both of these have a spectrum as well.

Asexual people can experience sexual attraction, only experience it sometimes, or not experience it at all. If you are anywhere on the asexual spectrum, it simply means that you don't experience an urge to have sex with someone in some or all cases.

You might enjoy sex. You might be repulsed by it. You might be completely indifferent towards it. You might even have urges every now and then. That is still valid. On one end of the spectrum, you don't experience any sexual attraction, on the other, you do experience sexual attraction, and all throughout the middle are varying levels of attraction/urges or lack thereof. There are more identities out there under the ace umbrella. There's demisexual which means that you only experience sexual attraction towards people you've developed an emotional connection with first. Greysexual means that you rarely experience sexual attraction, but it does happen sometimes. Lithosexual means you experience sexual attraction, but don't want it reciprocated. There are many more, you can do your research if you want to know all of them. I don't want to make this post too long, as I fear I may already have done.

The same thing goes for the aromantic spectrum.

Being aromantic means that you don't experience romantic attraction. Depending on where you are on the spectrum, you may experience romantic attraction sometimes, or not at all. Some aromantic people love the idea of romance, romantic gestures, have no problem holding hands, kissing, etc. You can participate in romantic relationships, you can get married, and it will never mean you're less aromantic. All being aromantic means is that you don't feel romantic attraction. It being a spectrum means that on one end, you do experience romantic attraction and on the other end you don't. All in the middle, you experience varying levels of romantic attraction. The labels are basically the same as the ace labels and mean basically the same thing.

(Edit: I've just noticed that I forgot to mention queer platonic relationships. So here we go)

Aromantic people may experience feelings for friends that go beyond friendship, but aren't in anyway romantic or sexual. They may choose to form relationships with others that are more than friendship but not quite romantic. These are called Queer Platonic Relationships or QPRs. They are just as valid as romantic relationships and are not just friendships. People in QPRs love their partner just as deeply, if not more so than people in romantic relationships.

When someone is asexual, but not aromantic, you put a label for their romantic attraction. For example: Biromantic asexual, heteromantic asexual, homoromantic asexual, panromantic asexual, etc.

So basically, you can experience limited or no sexual/romantic attraction and still have relationships. You can be aroace and gay. So therefore my headcanon is that Sherlock is grey-homoromantic asexual.

It took me a little bit of deciding between demiromantic and greyromantic. But they both sound just as cliche as the other. In both cases, John is the one and only person that Sherlock ever falls in love with. If he's demi, it's because he's never gotten this emotionally close to someone before and that's why John is his only love. But I wanted to see Sherlock struggle with his new, unfamiliar romantic feelings from the beginning. From that very first day that John walked into the lab at Bart's.

Sherlock doesn't even know what the weird emotions he's feeling are. They are subtle at first, because love at first sight is even more cliche. He doesn't really start to feel them as anything too distracting or difficult until the pool incident. Almost losing John, caused other unfamiliar feelings that Sherlock didn't want to deal with, along with the telltale signs of romantic love. But Sherlock chooses to ignore it for as long as possible, denying the fact that he could be in love with anyone. Let alone his very straight, not gay in the slightest, bi in denial roommate. It's too much of a risk with anyone. Platonic relationships are already a risk, but he's seen the strange things that romantic love can do to people. He doesn't allow himself to feel most emotions anyway, why would he allow himself to feel romantic love?

Once he allows himself to realize that the emotion he's feeling is romantic love, he struggles with his identity. He knows that he's aromantic, so how is it possible that he's feeling this way? Eventually he will come to discover greyromanticism and realize that he's not crazy, and he's not suddenly alloromantic. He is experiencing rare romantic feelings for John, which he's never experienced before and will likely never experience again.

He's still aromantic. He's not "fixed". Sherlock is valid in being aromantic and feeling romantic attraction.

Then add in some asexual tension once they finally get together and we should be good to go!

Ohhhh I have so much to say you have no idea

I'll go with my DRV3 post-game headcanons because that's generally what I think about!

Shuichi: Disaster bi. I recently had the thought that he'd actually be awesome as nonbinary, but I feel like he's the type to realize that in his mid 30s or something

Kaito: Bigger disaster bi than Shuichi somehow. I like to think that, while he's iffy/confused about gay people, he accepts trans people without a thought (he's just like "oh you're actually a guy/girl! okay") and just demands that they "act like their gender" bahaha

Ryoma: I know this is a controversial thing to say but. Straight. cis/het. But he's like the biggest and nicest ally ever because well his entire friend group is very queer

Rantaro: I don't see this enough!!!! Aro/ace Rantaro!!! His love hotel is literally him being a tutor with no romantic or sexual undertones!!!! His character concept is probably "playboy with no interest in romance"!! But yeah aro/ace, romance and sex-repulsed

Gonta: Probably pan, but fairly heteronormative. I feel like he gets married in middle age because he's really not searching for a relationship for most of his life and more busy enjoying his hobbies!

Kokichi: Obviously very gay! I generally have him as a trans guy who, due to some shenanigans that happened in his childhood, thought he was a cis guy (until puberty hit and he had to figure out why he was freaking bleeding). Ironically, I like to call him "the cissest of cis guys" haha

Korekiyo: Ace! Not looking for a romantic relationship but I like to think he has a strong platonic partnership with Tenko

Keebo: Aro/ace, romance-positive and sex-neutral. He doesn't experience romantic or sexual attraction but is totally open to a romantic relationship. Intersex and he/him nonbinary, but he generally keeps it to himself and only tells people he trusts

Kirumi: Gay gay lesbian gay. She loves GL (Girl's love genre) but keeps it a secret

Himiko: Aromantic and bisexual! She tends more towards girls than guys

Maki: PSA Maki is gay and was straightwashed when they put her in Danganronpa 53. I mean, Tsumugi really said "I made you fall in love with a guy for plot!" I like to think Maki gets out of DRV3 and her first thought is "why was I straight" (for legal reasons this is a joke and bi Maki believers are based but. gay maki)

Tenko: Bi Tenko bi Tenko I KNOW people insist she's a lesbian (and you people are based) buuut I think even in Danganronpa Tenko is bi. People don't choose who they're attracted to, so her being raised to hate men doesn't mean she can't be attracted to them! Okay that's my ted talk about bi tenko

Tsumugi: Her orientation is none of your business (is what she will say, but I will expose her as the bisexual she is)

Angie: Pan! Kinda heteronormative but she learns not to be

Miu: Pan. I think she would meet someone on the internet that she clicks super well with and then they fly out to meet each other and get married

Kaede: Lesbian! So lesbian. I will insist forever that she isn't actually interested in Shuichi and is just super awkward around him because she doesn't want to lead him on when she's gay

That's it for V3! I don't have as many for the other games, mostly since I'm not as interested in or familiar with them (I like to joke that V3 has the gayest cast and everyone in DR2 is straight (obviously untrue, the irrefutable evidence: Nagito)), but here's a few I like:

Chiaki: Trans girl! She's also straight bahaha

Hiyoko: I used to think she'd be the type to act homophobic "as a joke" but then I realized she's super gay. She'd probably still act homophobic though

Nagito: Bi, for the sole reason of: I think he should date Chiaki

Akane: Seems ace!

Mahiru: I think she's straight, but she's a total lesbian magnet

Hajime: Bi (duh). Cursed to be maidenless

Chihiro: Nonbinary, he/they in conversation but always they/them in writing

Junko: This lady is very heterosexual and cisgender

Mukuro: Bi

Makoto: Bi

I also like to joke that all the girls in DR1 are straight and all the boys in DR1 are gay because everyone is in love with Makoto (obviously false because there are some very gay girls and not so gay dudes)

Part One

Stancy Headcanon Part Two with a Side of Hellcheer and Rovickie with a sprinkling of Jargyle:

• Steve and Eddie bonding over their bat bites while talking about Chrissy and Nancy but also talking about their shitty fathers.

• Nancy and Chrissy bonding over trying be perfect all the time, Nancy talking about losing Barb and Chrissy about her mother blaming her for her brother's death (Chrissy has a brother, it's canon but I think they forgot they gave her a brother.)

• Steve, Nancy, Eddie, and Chrissy getting high as they talk about the difficult stuff. Steve and Eddie talking about being both comfortable in their femininity and masculinity, which led to Chrissy and Nancy talking about it.

• Nancy confesses to Steve about how she feels while Robin and Eddie decide to make it dramatic with a sprinkler. Nancy and Steve chasing them until they manage to push them into the pool. (Stancy still can't get in yet.) I firmly believe in Robin and Eddie being twin menaces.

• Robin finally gets with Vickie, but before Chrissy and Eddie get together, and after Robin comes out to Nancy, she comes out to them. Nancy and Vickie bond over their different writing styles. I believe Vickie wants to right fictional novels. Vickie revealing that she loves basketball and talks with Steve about it.

• Vickie and Chrissy find out they're related. Nancy and Steve meanwhile are loving having so many friends, but they also kind of want to be alone. It's almost comical. Finally, it's Chrissy who realizes and announces loudly that she wants to make out with Eddie in his van, effectively pulling him away from his conversation with Robin, then it's Vickie pulling her out of the room.

• Stancy spending all of the time in the pool once they start to work through their issues. Nancy was even the one to dare him to go skinny dipping with her. It was a different form of intimacy and a different form of freedom.

• A few months into their new relationship and, yes, new. They didn't pick up where they left off. That relationship is dead and buried. They've both changed. Anyway, a few months in, Nancy rescues a dog, and suddenly, it becomes their dog. Due to the fact that Holly is allergic, Ace Wheeler stays at Steve's.

• Nancy and Steve are stupidly in love with their dog and each other. Steve loves to dance around the kitchen with Ace while Nancy lays on the floor with the dog on her back while she reads Ace the rough drafts of her articles. Ace makes a noise. ("You're right, Ace, that's absolutely ridiculous. This sentence needs to go somewhere else.")

• Nancy is, of course, taking a year off from college, but she definitely is going to Emerson. After the hell that occurred, she needed some off of school. But in the meantime, she's free writing for the paper in the next town over. Steve is fully invested and supportive, while Nancy is fully supportive of him not knowing what he wants to do. ("We don't have to have it all figured out.")

• Nancy and Steve getting high with Chrissy and Eddie again, but this time, after discovering their own gender and sexual identities. Eddie and Chrissy accepted it while Chrissy admitted that she always knew about herself but didn't know there was a word for it. Eddie never did anything with a guy before but admits to being curious, which, of course, leads to Eddie and Steve making out. Chrissy and Nancy watch on for a while before doing the same, which leads them with somewhat of a tradition when they got high.

• Of course, there's Robin slipping into bed platonically with Steve and Nancy, as well as Ace, when she has her first fight with Vickie. It causes Robin to do it a lot more often over pretty much anything.

• And of course, there's also Argyle and Jonathan slowly incorporating themselves into the group once they pull themselves out of their love and drug haze. But also, everyone is just being fucking teenagers on the verge of being young adults who are dealing with their trauma and becoming a queer little family along the way. And as much as they love the younger and the adult members of the Party, it's nice just to have people your own age who just get it.

You are so right with m/f stuff! I’m not familiar with a lot of VBS shipping discourse, but it’s annoying to see how people can’t write an analysis on how important Tsukasa is to Rui without others dog piling them and saying they’re delusional and ignoring canon for their yaoi “with no content”. (At least on twitter, tumblr is much better with this) And as someone whose also bisexual, it’s so annoying seeing people use bisexuality as a gotcha to ship m/f and act as if its progressive and that it gives them the okay to hate on f/f and m/m pairings.

YES YES EXACTLY. God I hate when people keep saying that ruikasa has no content and their dynamic is underdeveloped whenever anyone talks about them. Like as biased as I am because I like the ship, they do have a very developed dynamic regardless of if you like the ship or not. Literally there's three events about it (potato and pandemonium + it was a pretty big background element in curtain call), one of which is the third event in the game. like if you don't like ritk that's perfectly fine, but when people are dogpilling ritk shippers for talking about their dynamic/pandemonium chapter 8/wtv and saying they're reaching, especially if the person doing this is an account dedicated to another rui ship/are a rui fan, it's a bad look because you're literally ignoring a very significant part of his arc. Ignoring massively important aspects of a character you claim to like just because of a ship is low. This fandom is way too set on everything being about shipping like bruh no one is telling you that you had to view pandemonium as romantic you can view it as platonic perfectly fine and not need to erase parts of rui's character to justify your rui/female character ship.

it's an especially weird situation with VBS as well. as much as I hold the earlier EN fandom to a higher standard there was a lot of discourse around VBS and the fact that they're implied gay. like it used to be a situation where if you admitted you shipped m/f vbs you would get jumped. as a comeback people would accuse biphobia but i never saw huge amounts of people being actually biphobic. saying "an and kohane are quite heavily implied to be lesbians (and it makes some people uncomfortable to see them shipped with men)" is a true statement but people didn't need to attack others over it. not liking a bi headcanon isn't biphobic unless you're actually being biphobic about it yknow? luckily it calmed down after a while but now you get jumped for not shipping m/f which leads us straight back to the statement about an and kohane. gbr the situation with vbs shipping nowadays is much worse than the situation when i first joined, obviously partially bc of the massive increase in fandom size but mainly because people are spewing actual homophobic rhetoric over akty ankh (someone literally tried to claim heterophobia was real bc of people not liking m/f vbs a couple months ago. actually this has happened multiple times).

AND YES GOD THIS FANDOM'S APPROACH TO BI HEADCANONS IS SO FUCKING ANNOYING. Like people only use it as a way to make m/f ships more queer and try to 1 up people with it because oh yes male/female couple are not the norm at all and they're so cool and different and if you add a bi/pan hc on top of that it makes you more progressive (/s). HCing a character as bi does not give you cool points and the fact that so many people only do it for m/f ships pisses me off to no end because people treat it like Straight 2 when bi people can be in m/m and f/f relationships. People can hc whatever they want ofc but it's so obvious sometimes that people are only using bi hcs as a way to quickly round off their hcs for every character so they can multiship or justify their m/f ships as queer and at that point I'd rather they just hc'd them as straight because I don't like seeing my identity used solely for the purpose of making a ship more queer because someone doesn't want their m/f to be a hetship.

I’m surprised I haven’t caved and done this yet, but I NEED to talk about how fucked up it is that ole Papa Ricky missed out on prime ace/aro representation via Leo Valdez in favor of? Ruining part of his character arc? Let’s get into it.

Essentially, Leo’s entire character is based off of the loser boy who relentlessly flirts with anything that moves because he’s desperate. We see this in almost every book until he starts to get serious, and of course when the Calypso plot line begins. IGNORING THAT ENTIRE SECTION OF THE BOOKS, and instead looking more closely towards the whole “seventh wheel” thing, I would very much like to point my gay little finger and declare Leo on the a-spec.

Leo as a character is very performative, and we see him taking the role of the comedian, or the resident funny guy along with his throwaway usefulness as the engineer and repairer. In his POV multiple times we see a deeper exploration to his thoughts and actions, while in everyone else’s eyes, he’s just annoying, funny, and hyperactive. While this is an entirely different post I should be making in the name of Leo Valdez and all of his quirks and flaws, I also think that this inherently plays into the loneliness and separation that we see over and over again casting him as the third/fifth/seventh wheel.

I think there’s also something very telling about that desperation. Besides Rick very quickly throwing him into a romance to solve most of his “problems”, a lot of the earlier books show him flirting and throwing himself at women, but there’s no SUBSTANCE to it. In my personal experience, and in something very often seen in the aro/Ace community, to fit into social norms, you often try to attach yourself quickly to people, or convince yourself and your peers that you are experiencing crushes/attraction for a way to fit in to conversation and convention. Unintentionally, Rick wrote this little playboy character who is SO EASILY read as queer, specifically ace/aro!!!!

While we can only give the books so much credit for diversity and representation (as they are written by a cishet white man well past his 30s), the way that Leo is written so stereotypically gives me FUEL to headcanon that he is better than written. I like to think of his third wheel era with Piper and Jason as a sort of PART 1 to this realization, and then PART 2 comes around with Hazel and Frank. There could have been so many silly interactions if he was actually pursued as a queer character, and I will forever rage because of the sloppily thrown labels after HoO with Nico’s coming out arc.

(Once again, big W for the representation being shown, but I do have some issues with the execution)

I just imagine Leo, confused, watching these relationships on the Argo II and taking notes about what romantic attraction looks like. He has messy notes scribbled on his palm like:

-Laughs at joke that is NOT funny because they are blinded by love???

-Look like idiots holding hands and staring into each others eyes

-‘I would die for you’ but in a sexy way (aka how to date in demigod 101)

-Whatever the fuck Percy and Annabeth have going on

Relationships, specifically romantic ones, seem to be the only way that Rick truly allows important interactions to happen. What happened to declaring your loyalty but in a platonic sense? What happened to fighting for the power of friendship? What happened to Grover?!?!!!

I also truly believe that there could have been an entirely new angle explored between Nico and Leo’s relationship, and how they could’ve become tentative friends after Leo comes back from the dead, especially after the death of Jason Grace. I see perfectly an interaction that would go something like:

Leo, approaching Nico wearily at the dining pavilion: hey man, how did you realize you were gay?

Nico, not paying much attention, absolutely destroying a bowl of cereal: didn’t like women, liked men

Leo, nodding seriously, knowing full well that he isn’t gay but also not straight: I see…

ADDITIONALLY there could have been such a fun friendship with Piper and Leo if Rick Riordan wasn’t a coward and actually gave Piper a character arc where she was established as queer instead of just sprinkling it in at random. Piper, as a daughter of Aphrodite, with that ‘love sense’, I truly believe they’re could have been such fun scenes such as:

Piper, suspicious that Leo isn’t straight: so…you have any crushes?

Leo, panicking because now he has to think of someone who could reasonably be seen as someone he was crushing on: uh, um, uh, what’re you? A cop???

Piper, getting literally no vibes of any attraction whatsoever from Leo, throwing her tf off: uh, maybe

This also leaves the very real, very hilarious question of what Leo would see if he ever met Aphrodite. As Jason sees a lot of Piper, and Percy sees basically just Annabeth, I think it would be interesting to have an internal dialogue of Leo meeting the goddess of love and having her features shift constantly to try and fit an impossible attraction by melding together traits that are stereotypically pretty or beautiful.

Not all of this was entirely coherent, but I have very strong feelings on this headcanon and I am HORRIBLE at articulating anything in a way that makes sense. Thank you for, once again, coming to my Teddy Talky.

Renfield has c-ptsd as well as autism, he has a lot of sensory issues particularly with clothes. I also think he’s very noise sensitive.

He has a lot of medical anxiety due to his time in dr sewards asylum

Renfield thinks he’s in love with Rebecca for a little but then realizes it’s just that he literally doesn’t know how to deal with ppl being nice to him without his brain being like “this is the new person I will base my life around” anyway eventually they end up in a queer platonic relationship. Also Rebecca is a non-binary lesbian if u even care,,,,,

He has nightmares a lot and just a lot of trouble sleeping in general

Part 2! This can be read as x reader or with Kate Bishop. It can be viewed as queer platonic.I headcanon her as asexual as she is in the comics. Prompt here.

F - Fiancé (how do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?) Again, Yelena never thought about the domestic side of life or really any positive aspects. Queer Platonic or otherwise, I think she could definitely commit. She’s a team player at the very least, and she develops friendly relationships quickly, like with Kate. I think she’s a ride-or-die type of girl, and if you hc her as romantically involved, she’s hesitant, but it’s something she secretly would be open to. I think she’d really enjoy it. However, I do not see her getting married. She seems to have no interest in doing so in the movie or comics.

G - Gentle (how gentle they, both physically and emotionally?) She’s not as smooth as Natasha. She can be a bit more brash and more likely to jump into things. She’s very hardy. She’s broader and damn strong. She can take quite the beating. Outside of that, she doesn’t care as much about grace as Natasha did. She’s more relaxed in how she handles things like walking or handling objects, but she’s not sloppy and has her own grace. She can be very dexterous. Emotionally - she can be pretty gentle. Some people have called her more childish, but that’s not quite fair. She just cares and wants connection; she’s highly receptive to that. She can be blunt, but she does know when to soften her approach.

H: Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?) Yelena seems quite tactile in some ways, but it depends on if SHE wants to hug. She loved hugging Natasha, and I can totally see her hugging Kate, but you have to have a connection before she’s giving hugs. Otherwise, she’ll step away or give an awkward pat on the back.

I: I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?) Depends on how you hc her as ace or aro or aro. If aro/aro ace, it’s not going to happen, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be affectionate or have a queerplatonic relationship. If she’s not aro, I think she’d feel it relatively quickly. I think she can be very sweet and excitable, and there are so many ways it could come out.

J: Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they're jealous?)Depending on hc/canon: She can be possessive. She hasn’t had many relationships in her life, and sometimes, she has to check herself so she doesn’t become clingy… She also has to be careful not to push someone away. She was used to being second best in a lot of categories, and while she did excellent in her training, she wasn’t always at the top of her class, so that made her a little insecure as well as a friend or romantic partner. She’ll be polite at first as she tries to analyze the situation, but she’ll give sarcastic comments and a few borderline icy comments - things that could also be missed. She’ll glare when the person isn’t looking. If you start icing her out, she will have words about it, but she won’t beg for your attention.

K: Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you?) Depending on your hc, of course.Soft teasing butterfly kisses. She’s playful; she’ll want them to chase her. It’s a quick peck or a swift kiss before she dashes to the other side of the room or speeds walk away. Other times, it’s holding her partner’s face in her hands before giving a slow kiss. It can become more heated, but not always!

Harvard Decapolice headcanons because I'm having severe brain rot

Tw // Mentions of mental illness and truama

Harvard is genderfluid and uses he/she/they pronouns.

Identifies as queer in terms of sexuality (she doesn't really care about labels).

Harvard was born in Boston, Massachusetts.

They have a Bostonian accent

Is of Italian and Puerto Rican descent (Italian mother and Puerto Rican father).

She knows some Spanish and Italian from her mother.

Has PTSD from his mother's death and Bipolar II.

Because of this, he suffers from insomnia and nightmares.

They also get very irritable and have a lot of unresolved anger towards criminals regardless of the severity of the crime (I think this is just canon though lol).

Their father left when they were young so they were raised by a single mother. They really admire her because of it.

They weren't the best off financially, but his mother always tried to give him the happiest childhood she could.

Her mom was actually very supportive of her gender queerness. She found out because Harvard broke into her closet once to try on dresses and when caught, Harvard starting crying cause she felt guilty and said she was just "tired of wearing boy clothes all the time."

Soon after this, her mother took her out to buy some girl clothes and let her pick out enough clothes for 2 outfits.

They always loved their mom's cooking.

When his mom died, he became an orphan and grew up in the foster care system till he grew out of it.

Harvard loves makeup and fashion. It's one of her main hobbies, but it has been slowly waning due to her increased focus on avenging her mother.

They were initially teased in middle school because of this, but due to their stand-offish nature and intellect, people learned to shut up and mind their business.

In high school, they were actually considered pretty attractive with the ladies and men, but most didn't approach them cause they were scared. When they did, Harvard always rejected them cause they couldn't "waist their time on that crap." (And yet ironically, she ends up dating Carl in the future lol)

Has a soft side. She just wants to be loved and cared for, but due to trauma, she feels as if she "doesn't deserve it" and pushes people away with a cold and angry demeanor.

Acts confident (and is mostly), but has a lot of doubts that he hasn't unpacked yet.

Carl was one of the first people he truly cared for ever since his mother's death, but he has trouble expressing it because he's afraid he'll lose him as well.

The BPD has become a family for him over time.

Misae and Granger are kinda like parental figures to him almost. Granger especially becomes concerned at one point over Harvard's mental health.

He is besties with Manimani and they often banter and gossip with each other.

They also like to platonically joke flirt with each other.

He calls her Mani as a nickname.

He goes to her for relationship advice sometimes when he starts dating Carl (though he's embarrassed about it).

Bro is touched starved as hell, but he never expresses it.

He has a caffeine addiction.

She curses and says "fuck" regularly (average Bostonian).

I can't decide whether she really loves donuts or if she hates them, but keeps running into them in the virtual world.

She knows how to cook cause she had to provide for herself when she became an orphan.

I may add more later if I have anymore ideas. I'll probably do other characters (and ships) in the future too cause I have. A lot. Of headcanons.

Alright, I have Feelings about Dasira, but I’m mostly going to be talking about it in an aromantic way, because I am not the person who knows enough to talk about TMA and cops. (But I will say that if one more person headcanons Daisy with BPD I am going to Die, please Stop.)

So, as an aromantic person, I appreciate that canon!Dasira is completely platonic. They absolutely suck ✨ platonically ✨. They’re a toxic ✨ platonic ✨ relationship. Basira has double standards about Daisy killing people versus Jon taking people’s statements, but her feelings for Daisy are completely platonic.

Yes, queer romantic relationships are important in fiction, I acknowledge this and I’m not going to say it doesn’t give me warm fuzzy feelings to have queer romance be a thing, I love it as much as the next person, but as an aromantic person, I absolutely adore how Daisy and Basira can be so devoted to each other — to the point of it being harmful to the people around them, don’t think I have forgotten — and have the relationship still be completely platonic.

I have a problem with the TMA fandom and how a lot of people just sort of… assume romantic!Dasira is canon, when it’s not. Some of my favourite fic authors are guilty of this (I will not name names because. No. They’re lovely. I don’t know if I have the power to make people do anon hate and I don’t want to find out), and it’s just… hhh. It makes me annoyed. Ship and Let Ship, yeah yeah, but also, aaa, just. It doesn’t sit well with me, personally.

Also, not the right person to be talking on this, but while I really like Daisy’s redemption (?) arc and the message of forgiveness not being necessary but trying to do better being necessary, I… hm. Idk. I just don’t want to say something wrong, so I tend to just stay away from Daisy and Basira as characters. Don’t have much experience with it and have not done enough reading on it.

I've been in and out of the VnC tag in the past couple of days after doing a reread of the series (and finally watching the anime) and one thing I keep seeing is people asking if the whole thing between Vanitas and Noe is "queerbaiting". I can kinda understand why some people might think that, but here's my personal take on why Mochijun had no such intention (TL;DR I AM TIRED OF PEOPLE BEING MEAN ABOUT THIS SERIES AND I AM TIRED OF THE ONES DEFENDING IT BY SAYING THEY'RE NOT GAY. COME AND FIGHT ME.)

So, a lot of these opinions are going to come from some of my understandings about Japanese fandoms and the way their genres work. In order to explain this, I'm going to need to talk about another piece of media I like, an indie game called "Witch's Heart". I PROMISE I will get to why this has to do with VnC and the idea of queerbaiting.

Awhile ago, the dev of Witch's Heart came under fire for saying that any non-canon ships should not be put in the main tag, especially gay ones because "Witch's Heart is not a game about gay people" (please keep in mind that the dev could not speak English very well before you get your panties in a wad about the poor wording. They've already stated they have nothing wrong with gay ships or LGBT headcanons). A lot of people were outraged, especially since the American fandom for this game is heavily LGBT. But the thing is; the dev themself has been seen liking gay ships and art of their characters as trans, so many argued that there's no way this person hates to see those things *period*, they just didn't want them in the main tag for some reason.

That's when the Japanese members of the fandom came forward to explain; and here is what I learned. Japanese fandom tends to focus a lot on the idea of "fantasy", that being the idea that anyone can interpret any relationship as being romantic or platonic according to their wishes. That's why a lot of relationships when written tend to teeter on that line of romance and friendship, and why a lot of characters may seem subtly LGBT coded. It was stated that the reason headcanons and non-canon ships did not belong in the canon tag is because in Japanese fandom, the canon tag is strictly to give people an idea of what the story is about, whereas the non-official tag is for any headcanons and ships that aren't canon-compliant. Posting something unofficial in the canon tag is thus seen as selfishly declaring your ships and headcanons to be canon, prioritizing YOUR fantasy above anyone else's. That's why a lot of people took issue with it and saw it as rude.

It was also stated that LGBT things, especially M/M and F/F relationships, tend to be shoved aside into their own "genres" regardless of what the story is actually about. For example, sometimes I even see "No. 6", which has a very heavy plot outside of the romance, sometimes tossed to the side and categorized as "BL" (which grinds my gears for many reasons. And if you're asking "what's no. 6"-- go watch it). Thus when they said "this is not a story about gay people", they were referring to those genres.

You may be asking "okay cool but what does this have to do with VnC--" hold on hold on I am GETTING THERE.

So what I am saying about VnC is this: A lot of Mochijun's stories tend to have very homoerotic themes and relationships in them, but nothing that seems explicit. I personally believe that this is because she wants to create that "fantasy" I mentioned earlier without her stories being shoved aside and being considered "Just BL" stories. I think that doing this and allowing LGBT people to fantasize about seeing themselves in these characters they love might be the best she can do without her stories simply being tossed aside, and I don't think that what she's doing specifically counts as "queerbaiting". Several of her characters and their interactions are queer coded: Domi and her gnc manner of dressing and flirtations with women, Jeanne's way of acting around Domi, the way Roland acts around Vanitas and Noe (and how Noe blushes in response), the way Jean-Jacques and Noe's interactions happened when they could have easily put those interactions between him and Chloe instead, and of course; whatever the hell Vanitas and Noe have going on. I will never believe that she did this all just because she hates gay people and wants their money. I believe she did this out of love for her LGBT audience and a desire to give them characters they could relate to even if it can't be entirely explicit. And many people may be frustrated that it never will be as explicit as they want it to be-- and hey! You know what? Your frustration is valid! But I don't think Mochijun is the one to be angry with-- I think we should be more angry with censorship and those who shove stories with LGBT characters to the side in the first place and act like those stories don't matter outside of the relationships.

People may be thinking "did you write this just to yell at the queer fandom" and actually, I did not. I wrote this bc all of the discourse I saw defending this show was saying that Vanitas and Noe were "just friends" and that their interactions were not at all queer coded. Don't get me wrong: if you wanna see them as just besties, that's fine but to deny that any homoerotic subtext is there is being willfully ignorant at best. I won't tell you why because there are literally a million other essays you could read on the matter by fans that are more mentally ill about dedicated to the matter than me, and this has gone on too long anyway. But I couldn't stand the idea that the only two options were demonizing Mochijun or turning a blind eye to queer interpretations. There HAS to be a middle ground, people.

What are some of your favorite headcanons for tbp and also any thoughts on Griffin! :D

TW: Gore, animal death and animal cruelty (I’m gonna analyse Griffin’s death under the cut)

I love that the fandom took one look at Griffin and said “yep, that kid is feral.”

It’s also funny that so many of us, myself included, see him as being significantly younger than the other ghosts. While he did die when he was 10 or 11, he is still the same age as Billy, Finney, Bruce and Robin (maybe Vance too. His age is complicated). He is also, literally, the oldest ghost. The first victim.

I head canon that Griffin’s mother had him when she was a teenager. While his dad was never in the picture, his grandparents and great grandparents were very supportive and attempted to help raise him as best they could. Griffin’s family is very tight knit and that all adore him (rightfully so). In my head, they call him ‘Bucky’. Cause…Stagg…get it?

I’m also a massive fan of him and Billy being best friend. While I don’t ship them romantically, I do love the idea of them being in a queer platonic relationship. They’re platonic soulmates, they just get each other and love existing in the same space.

Now, let’s talk about him being The Grabber’s first victim. What I like about his ghost is that it makes it clear that The Grabber was still coming into his MO, if that makes sense. For example, Griffin mentions that he had access to bottle caps, which he used to scratch his lock combo on the wall. However any time The Grabber gives Finney something to drink, we can clearly see that it’s already been opened. This shows that, at some point between Griffin and Finney, Al decided to stop giving his victims bottle caps. Maybe because he saw the code and didn’t want similar messages to be written, or maybe because someone tried to scratch at him with one. Who knows?

Griffin’s death is also starkly different from the others, as he is the only boy to have his throat slit. He is also the only one shown to have been strung up prior to his death. I’ve mentioned in previous posts that this was most likely because The Grabber was trying to ‘bleed’ him in the same way slaughter houses bleed livestock/game. Basically, you string up the animal, slit it’s throat and let it bleed out. It’s a pretty horrible way to die, but it means that the blood can be drained into a bucket placed underneath the slaughtered animal. It’s clear that this was what The Grabber was trying to achieve, basically, he wanted to kill Griffin in a way that would cause the least amount of mess. Which begs the question: why did he not continue to kill his victims in this way? Well. Because he did it wrong. From what I can tell, for this method to work, the victim needs to be completely upside down. If they aren’t, blood sprays everywhere. It’s possible that’s what happened and The Grabber decided it was more trouble than it was worth.

Hello, everyone! I know that this is very sudden, but I PLEASE urge you to read this of a certain user here on tumblr. This has been bothering me and kinda triggering for a while, so this needs to be said. I also went and did my first try on using image descriptions in ALT for the images I am about to show you so I tried my best.

During Pride Month a while ago, I posted one of my headcanons that features one of the characters, Millie from Helluva Boss, to be a heteroromantic sex-positive asexual woman. Though, as the post was there, it has caught attention to a tumblr user, @/starry-cow, and they replied to this:

Listen, I respect those who have different opinions on a character they like, but if you're going to be disrespectful, then just don't say it(?). So I went and replied to try and defend my headcanon; please note that when I was trying to define being sex-positive, I might've worded incorrectly a bit so I apologize.

If you know me, you would probably know that I am demisexual, which is a label under the ace umbrella. I am also under the aro umbrella, making me aroace. Plus I'm a nonbinary trans boy who is polyamorous with my attraction towards women/fem-aligned|presenting individuals is queer. Though, not everyone thinks that as they replied once again:

This is VERY outdated, and it invalidates me as an ace-spec person who is both sex-positive and sex-favorable. I have talked to another aro/ace person about this and it (<- one of zer pronouns) said that this was merely more then talking over to someone who is ace and saying that every asexual/ace-spec person is indifferent. Not to mention that they brought up exclus saying that "lesbians can't date men" when there are masc-aligned/presenting/multigendered individuals who use that label. I find it ironic that they brought up on how lesbians cannot be attracted to men when in, my headcanon post, it included of Blitzø being a pan gay (being both pansexual AND gay). So I also replied once more. Trying to educate them along with asking if they were asexual as well.

I am a transgender boy whose considered to be multigender and also at the same time not--my attraction to women is both straight AND queer. Even though my attraction is equivalent to me being a transhet, I still identify with the lesbian label because I still have ties with it and don't want to let go of the label itself and consider myself multi-spec because of my attraction to nonbinary people and also my platonic relationship with binary/cisgender men. And it was also my confirmation that the person is not asexual (greatly assuming allosexual) because they avoided my question on if they're ace or not.

I refused to respond, and afterwards they post this on their account because I was checking if they mentioned they were ace.

This is very bigoted in many ways. While they say that they support he/him lesbians, but yet they do not support masc/men-aligned + presenting lesbians. Because there ARE lesbians who look like men and/or are men. I am one of them; I am a futch, butch-leaning masc-alinged/presenting transfemasc enby boy. I blocked them. And after getting curious, I found that they replied to an anon ask:

They have openly admitted on not caring if they are a queer exclusionist along with using outdated terms that were ALSO used by exclusionists/TERFs. The replies are not there anymore because after I blocked them, the replies disappeared so I am glad to screenshot them.

On other notes, I should've said in the beginning that the person goes by the name of Beth and uses they/them pronouns. I have looked at their bio and pinned post and there was nothing said about them being ace. I am sick and tired of people making me feel bad because I am ace-spec and sex-positive along with my gender and how it affects my attraction and labels being "problematic/can't exist" when they have been around since forever.
