you're the one that i want
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: urbosa x gn!reader
summary: urbosa sits you down to have a talk about your feelings for princess zelda. but zelda isn't the one that caught your eye...
Tumblr media
“i can understand why you'd fall in love with princess zelda, but as her friend and protector, i can't allow this”
urbosa had sat you down to have a serious talk with you. you had expected the worst to happen, to get scolded for a mistake you made, but never in a million years would you have guessed that this was about princess zelda!
“i… i'm not in love with princess zelda…”
your words did little to convince urbosa. instead, she took a deep breath and sighed softly, before continuing to lecture you.
“if you're too embarrassed to admit to it, then that's fine, but–”
“no really! i– i don't like her like that, at all!” you interrupted her, before taking a deep breath. “i'm always around her, because… you are with her. i don't love zelda. the one i'm in love with is–”
“oh–!”
urbosa gasped before you could finish talking, almost as if to stop you before you could say her name.
“well… in that case…”
she hadn't expected this. urbosa went into this talk, believing she'd scold you a bit and perhaps comfort you. but a confession? she had no idea how to deal with that!
“i suppose there's no need to continue this conversation then” she got up and looked at you for a moment, before averting her gaze. “i'll be seeing you…!”

«(◡‿◡✿) sof characters resting their head on the stoic character's shoulder || Link ||
A/n: I need to write more for Link.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You enjoyed days like this, ones where you and Link could enjoy the day and relax. While he maybe stoic, would often speak little words you did know that he loved you.
Humming, you glanced up at the night sky, the stars seemed extra bright tonight. “It’s such a pretty night!”
Letting out a small grunt, Link placed his hand over yours squeezing it gently. You always liked it when Link smiled, he’s eyes always seemed brighter whenever he did.
Shifting your body to get comfortable you let your head rest on the man’s shoulder as a sigh escaped Links lips. Glancing over, he let his body finally relax, your eyes were closed as a smile was on your lips. You looked so beautiful, peaceful. He knew he owed a lot to you.
A lot t Zelda for giving him the courage to even approach you. He was never good at dealing with his emotions but with you he felt like he could do anything. Letting his own eyes slip close, Link wove his arms around your waist tugging you close as you snuggled into his side.
It was a perfect night.

Hateno Boy - Part 1 - Link x Reader
The Calamity is gone, but so is Link’s purpose. He feels completely lost in post-Calamity Hyrule where everyone but him seem to have found their new place.
It certainly doesn’t help his restless nights that you, a young Hylian whom Zelda has hired as the new teacher at Hateno School, are slowly taking up more and more of his headspace with each conversation you two have.
Fandom: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild / Tears of the Kingdom Pairing: Link x fem!Reader Raiting: Mature (might go up, might go down, let's see) Contains: feel-good, slow burn romance; platonic Link/Zelda; Link being an angsty retired hero Chapter Index | Read on Ao3 A/N: Very excited to write something possibly disgustingly cute. The story takes place after the events in BotW but before the beginning of TotK. All characters are adults! I hope you enjoy the story! xx
Tumblr media
Chapter 1 - Purpose
Contains: Link being an angsty retired hero; Zelda being embarrassed by Link's inability to talk to girls (or other human beings in general) Word count: ~1,3k A/N: Please look past any weird sentences, English isn't my first language :p
A breath of warm air blows from the sea, gentle on skin and smelling of sea salt. The wind hurries over the hills of Necluda, tall grass bowing before it like waves on an emerald green ocean. Once it reaches Link sitting on top of the hills, it gently tugs on his hair and pushes his hood down.
He has been sitting there for quite some time now – so long that the tips of his ears are starting to redden from the wind, as gentle as it is. The sun that was high up when he arrived at the hills, is now hanging low over the horizon. It is soon time for him to go; Zelda asked him in the morning to stop by the school before sundown.
He is alone, as he is on most days nowadays. There isn’t much for him to do: Zelda is busy rebuilding Hateno, the recently finished village school her new pride and joy. And when she isn’t mingling with the villagers, she’s kept busy with her research at the Tech Lab. She doesn’t require an escort anymore, not after Purah hired a young researcher to assist them decipher ancient Zonai texts anyway. The man rarely leaves Zelda’s side when the two of them are together – which is often. Very often.
Link was jealous at first. After all, he is the Princess’ appointed knight, and he is the one who wields the Master Sword, and he is the one who saved Zelda’s life – not some overly excited, self-proclaimed explorer with a stupidly tall frame and an apparent distaste for wearing upper garments that hide his muscles.
Eventually, his jealousy morphed into loneliness – something he did a terrible job of hiding from Zelda. She asked him if he wanted to return to Hyrule Castle to help the Royal Guard in training new soldiers. Link said no, that he likes it here in Hateno.
“I wouldn’t mind if you go,” Zelda said, gently placing her hand on top of his, “I can see how lost you are here.”
Somehow, Zelda seeing straight through his lies and offering him kindness hurt more than her asking Link to leave in the first place. After that, Link couldn’t help but feel even more uncertain and disconnected. Everyone had seemingly moved on, everyone but him. While he still remains close with Zelda, honoring his duty, accompanying her whenever she travels outside of Hateno, even living with her, he knows deep down that she doesn’t need him anymore. The Calamity is gone, and so is his purpose.
Tumblr media
The sun hangs low when Link arrives at Hateno School. The sky is flaring in shades of red, reminding Link of a cozy fire under a cooking pot – somewhere he would much prefer to be. The school’s front doors are open, but the playground is silent and the windows are dark, all except one. It has been a while since Link last visited the school. The children adore him, which is exactly why he prefers to stay away. Their looks of admiration and curious questions make him uneasy. Ever since moving to Hateno, all he has wanted is to lay low, going as far as to hide his head-turning Champion’s tunic in the bottom of his drawer. He wanted to throw the tunic away, but Zelda wouldn’t let him.
He can already hear Zelda’s excited chattering when he reaches the open doors and quietly steps inside. Zelda is having an eager conversation with a young Hylian woman – you – whom Link doesn’t remember seeing before. He does remember Zelda telling him about a new teacher she hired a few months back, and he figures it must be you.
You notice Link arriving before Zelda does and give him a polite smile in greeting. Only when he lightly taps on Zelda’s shoulder does she stop talking and turn around.
“Oh, Link,” she smiles. “You have impeccable timing. We were just talking about you!”
Link furrows his brow. Great, just great, he thinks, already feeling the tips of his ears growing warmer.
“Only good things,” you assure with an awkward laugh. “The Princess told me you made the apple pie she brought the other day.”
Link hopes that the dim light of the oil lamps is enough to hide his red ears. He clears his throat, though not even intending to say anything.
“I don’t think you two have met before, have you?” Zelda says, giving Link an encouraging nudge.
Even after all the years spent in royal banquets practicing formal pleasantries with Hyrule’s nobility, Link still feels awkward having to introduce himself. Nonetheless, he extends his hand for a greeting. When you offer him yours, he brings it to his lips and gives your knuckles a polite kiss. Your skin feels soft and pleasant, he thinks, now horribly self-aware of just how sweaty his own palm is.
When he looks back at you, even he can pick up the awkward tension in your smile and words as you introduce yourself. He feels his whole face heat up, not really understanding what he did wrong but knowing he must have, because even Zelda has the same tension in her smile as you do.
“He is very accustomed to his formal greetings from his days at the Castle,” Zelda says with a forced smile and gives Link a look. Only then does he realize that a hand kiss, though adequate in greeting a noble woman, is not something you, a village school teacher, was expecting from a Royal Knight. He would apologize, but his mouth is dry and no words come out.
“And, well, you probably already know of Link,” Zelda breaks the uncomfortable silence after it becomes clear Link isn’t going to introduce himself.
“The Hero of Hyrule,” you say, knowingly. “We have actually met before.”
We have? Link thinks, the heat of embarrassment getting unbearable. All he wants to do is run home and hide under his bed covers for the rest of eternity. This is why he rarely leaves their home or willingly socializes with the villagers. He would cringe if he wasn’t too embarrassed to move his face muscles.
“You have?” asks Zelda out loud, her disapproving eyes boring into Link’s.
“It was years ago,” you are quick to add. “He took refuge in our family home once. I wouldn’t blame him for not remembering.”
Zelda doesn’t appear quite as understanding when she shoots another scolding look at Link, the pink in her own cheeks deepening as well. “Please,” she says as she turns back to you, “accept my apology. Link can be awfully forgetful sometimes.” She gives him a final glare that, at last, makes him drop his head. He’s not sure if dying of embarrassment is a real occurrence, but if it is, then he must be very close to leaving Hyrule for good.
“It’s quite alright, Your Highness,” you say with a slightly uneasy laugh that fails to fully mask your discomfort. “I don’t mind it, really. Like I said, it was years ago.”
There is an uncomfortable silence between the three of you. Then Zelda claps her hands, and the tension breaks like a taut rubber band. Link sighs, relieved.
“Well,” Zelda says, “now that we are done with introductions, perhaps we can show Link the curriculum we’ve been working on? I’m sure he can give us his opinion on the section about monster parts and their usage in elixirs.”
When you turn to look for something from your writing table’s drawers, Link grabs Zelda’s sleeve and gives her a pleading look. Zelda narrows her eyes and shakes her head.
“Do not even think of fleeing” she hisses in his ear before she hurries over to you to help you with a pile of scrolls close to toppling over. Link lets out a silent grunt and looks longingly at the open doors. The sun has gone down, the sky now the same shade as embers cooling down under a cooking pot – somewhere he would much prefer to be.

Kinktober Masterlist <<< Day 6 >>>Day 8
Tumblr media
He was…nervous. He knew you knew he was nervous, that the tempo you were going at was not for yourself, but rather him.  He knew this. He knew this because he was sure he told you it. He hadn’t uttered a word but it was all over his face.
Cal had prided himself on holding his reactions and emotions to his chest. During training, he was the poster child for the perfect soldier. Silent, obedient, and almost mindless when it came to orders. He almost preferred it that way, really. He didn’t have to think.
Because thinking was hard. It was so, so, so hard to do anything really. He could barely breathe with the way your hand was wrapped around him, even as featherlight as it was. Your touch was sacreligious with how much he yearned for it. Golden goddess above, he was ready to burst under the tension. His gut was tight and his abs flexed under him as his back arched. A whine left his lips, high and pretty, as his eyes burned with tears. It was so overwhelming, but not nearly enough. Just the absolute phantom of euphoria.
He was absolutely shaking beneath you, fingers clutching the sheets beneath him. He was sure he had nearly ripped a hole in them.
Watching you carefully, he sucked in a harsh breath as you moved over him, hole glistening from the earlier prep you had done (Under his careful eye, which was an experience spent shuffling from where he sat, hands covering his crotch to the best of his ability), hovering just over the head of his weeping cock. Drops of precum had drooled over the rest of his shaft from where your hand had earlier been toying with his cock, quickly cooling into an uncomfortable chill. He led out a small little choked noise, somewhere in between a sob and a whimper, as he bucked his hips uncontrollably. You hushed him, with that same gentle smile you always wore, before gently sinking your hips down. He cried out in alarm, warm tears trailing down his cheeks at the sudden feeling of pure warmth that surrounded him. It was foreign and so new and a sudden jolt of electric stimulation that had him grappling at you like his soul would leave his body if he failed to do so. It was divine, the feeling of your velvet walls clutching around him in a suffocating hold, pulsating in time with your heartbeats. But it was so much, too much. Shame filled his core before he even fully registered what was happening.
It happened too quickly to process properly too. Before he knew it, his hips were jutting as far as he could and his hold on you turned into nail-drawn lines that flashed white before fading into rosy red. Whatever warmth there was previously meant nothing compared to now as it trailed down is cock and past the opening of your muscles, muddling onto the divot of his balls as he sobbed into your chest. Your fingers dug through his hair with soft hums of reassurance which didn’t make the situation any better.
It was something so pulsatingly good, he nearly swore this was what heaven was in all its golden promises and clouded bliss.
With you still seated on top of him, kissing his temple and talking him through what exactly you’d do to him next, he was sure of it.

Hi, saw you mention missing writing for Revali. Was curious how would you envision (HCs) a Revali that survived Calamity (AoC) but a time skip passes and the events of Totk begin?
Hello! Thanks for your suggestion, I honestly have been thinking and debating on this for quite some time. It seems like it's time that I finally put my ideas out in the world! My first time doing HCs but I hope you enjoy it!
Revali surviving the Calamity and his life with his spouse:
I like to think Revali gained some sort of scar from the fight with Windblight Ganon.
A long scar in the form of a beam that goes across his chest and the side of his neck when he got hit.
From an outsider’s perspective, it didn’t seem that deep, but the medics concluded it was much of an injury to tell him he shouldn’t exert much into physical activities.
Unfortunately, he still does overtrain from time-to-time to the dismay of his, now, spouse.
On top of that, he still leads the rito warriors, organizing the operations and their duties to protect Rito Village. Sometimes, he takes hours just training and planning with the village elder.
It takes a lot of convincing to get him to rest, but the moment he sees the desperation in your eyes, he sighs and heads home with your arm wrapped in his.
"Revali."
"I know, I… I’m sorry"
Since the calamity, Revali has been trying to be better at depending on others, especially since he’s chosen to have you in his life, not wanting to hurt you more by shutting you out.
Still, bad habits die hard. At the very least, he tries.
Getting home, it became a habit to lightly caress the scar on his chest as you both lie in your shared hammock.
The sensation bothered him for the first couple of months, but eventually, he couldn't sleep without it.
It's like a comforting feeling that he's alive, lucky enough to survive and live with you. Fortunate enough to see Hyrule again in its glory; For that, he's extremely grateful to Goddess Hylia.
There are a lot of days where he wakes up in the middle of the night.
Throat dry and eyes wide, awakened by the nightmare that haunts him in the form of Windblight Ganon.
It’s only when he feels your body lean towards him in the hammock when he relaxes.
On most days, you wake up feeling his panic, consoling and letting him find comfort in your embrace.
But in the rare instance you stay asleep, he takes a walk or a flight just around the village.
There is just this one time where you woke in the middle of the night, looking for his warm blanket of wings in your shared hammock.
In a panic, you ran around the village. It was only when you noticed a string of smoke from the flight range that you finally let go of the breath you didn’t know you were holding.
Still a bit sleepy, you make your way to him. Finding him, staring at his bow once more with paranoia in his eyes.
Your embrace wakes him up from the thoughts that plagued his mind, his tears made yours water in response.
Since then, he has been trying his best to wake you up on those nights; Trying to actually ask for help, knowing that he doesn’t have to be alone anymore.

Link had little time to react. Ganon’s voice was still reverberating through the chamber as he lifted his hand, his triforce glowing on the back of his gauntlet. The Oracle’s feet lifted slowly, head tipping up as more Malice pooled from their mouth and down their chin. The connection was quickly made that Ganon was manipulating their body against their will, and the Hylian felt a disturbing familiarity as he looked upon the sight. Link drew his sword, on the defensive as he watched them rise into the air, as he heard Ganondorf laughing from just out of his sight. His grip on the master sword was tight and blistering, willing that he wouldn’t have to use it. This was definitely a fight he couldn’t brute force his way through.
The Oracle’s head lolled forward, eyes shut and malice still gurgling from between their lips. Link watched with a numb form of shock as their hand (trembling, he noticed) gathered the hand of the trident secured to their back. They brought it forward and aimed the weapon at Link, looking down the handle with closed eyes as if aiming for the blond. Eventually, their feet touched the ground, and they charged forward.
The sharp clang of metal echoed through the Divine Beast as Link drove his blade through the forks of the trident, digging the balls of his feet into the floor as he leaned forward, hissing under his breath. The Oracle displayed a shocking amount of strength, an amount that Link knew wasn’t their own as they pushed him away and charged again.
They fought wildly, muscles tight and knuckles straining as they drove the trident toward Link over and over and over. From swiping it through the air to plunging it toward his chest, Link found it becoming increasingly difficult to dodge their movements. He locked their trident in place once more as they pushed it inches away from his face. They hadn’t made a sound this entire time, it looked as if they were barely breathing, just a husk being puppeted around in order to kill.
“Fight it.” Link hissed, face scrunching tight with the effort. “This isn’t you, this is him. Fight it.”
“Can you be certain?” Ganondorf sneered as the Oracle lunged again, clashing the trident against Link’s shield. “What if this is what’s been lingering under the surface, all this time?” Link staggered as he thrust the shield forward, pushing the Oracle away from him. Ganondorf scowled, raising his hand and then clenching his fist. A strange, gurgled sound left the Oracle, more Malice pouring from their mouth as they opened their eyes, rolled back into their head, and white as the clothes they wore. The trident by their side began to glow, then, and their grip readjusted as their head snapped back forward.
It was then Link noticed the necklace they bore around their neck. He hadn’t seen it besides this very moment, he honestly didn’t think they were prone to wearing jewelry. It emanated a soft light, pulsing in time with the trident they held. He thought for too long on this, apparently, because as he looked up again they were mere inches away from his face.
“Fight it!” Link called, to no avail as they locked the trident with his sword.
“There’s only one way out of this, Champion.” Ganondorf turned his back, waving his hand dismissively. The Oracle twisted the trident at the same time, straining Link’s injured side as he fought for control.
“And what is that?” Link gasped out, strained as he felt more blood pool down his side. Ganondorf smiled at him, eyes glinting.
“Your extinction.”
Faster than he could blink, there was a blinding flash of light and searing pain at his back. He recognized the sound of breaking rock as he realized he was being launched through a wall of Vah Ruta. The harsh gaze of the setting sun and the wind blowing past him made it an almost peaceful moment, losing himself before he remembered he was being hurtled toward the ground. Link frantically tried to grab at his paraglider, writhing in the air as he struggled. Just seconds before he thought he was going to turn flat against the ground, he heard the loud crash of water and then felt arms around him.
“Link!” Sidon called, landing back in the water. The Hylian gasped, shooting upward as he heard the Zora speak. “Are you alright? Where is-”
“They’re still in there.” Link signed, throat raw from talking so damn much. “I have to get back up there. It’s Ganondorf, they were right.”
Sidon stammered, looking over his friend’s injuries and then to his panicked face. The Prince turned over his shoulder and called for a medic, setting Link carefully back into the water. It was up to his chest, soothing the heat of his wound as he tread through it. Link began to summon Revali’s Gale, calling upon the spirit to lift him into the air before he felt the riverbed shake.
He turned around and cursed.
Vah Ruta was marching toward Zora Domain.
There was screaming all around him, an elixir being shoved into his hands and Sidon lifting him back up as he ran up the staircase leading into the Domain center. The Zora prince was shouting orders of defensive positions, leading citizens to safety and grabbing his own weapons but it all fell on deaf ears. Link looked up to Vah Ruta in shock to see the Oracle atop it, Ganon’s hand back on their neck as Vah Ruta stomped out of the water.
“Hurry.” Link signed, and Sidon nodded.
They ran to the highest point, just outside of the throne room and Link couldn’t help but notice that the King was vacant. He was most likely with his people, in safety, but it felt odd to see the massive throne without its King. Sidon set Link down once again, and they faced Vah Ruta. Sidon bristled as he made eye contact with Ganondorf, and the Gerudo man laughed.
“This is the brother of Mipha?” He asked incredulously, turning toward the Oracle. “He looks as scared as a pup!”
“Do not talk to them as if they were kin!” Sidon pointed a trident toward Ganondorf, teeth bared as a snarl left his throat. “You have no business here, you were defeated long ago!” Sidon stepped forward, up onto the railing to have a vantage point. Link remained still, narrowing his eyes in thought. Why was Ganondorf so confident? What was his plan? Ganon smiled at Sidon, who only bristled further.
“And yet, here I stand.” Ganondorf shrugged, turning to the Oracle once again. “And, you seem to speak fondly of them as well- despite having known each other for mere days.”
Sidon watched the Oracle sway on their feet, the grip holding his sister’s trident was lax and their eyes closed. Their face was pallor, black sludge stained their chin and down their shirt. Link saw a growing rage bubble up in the prince and felt a growl reverberate through his chest.
“What have you done to them?” Sidon demanded, flashing serrated teeth. Ganondorf’s face fell for a moment, a crack in the facade. What did it, Link wondered. When the Gerudo didn’t answer, Sidon leaned over the railing and reached his hand out. Desperation coated his movements, and Ganondorf’s scowl deepened. Link readied the bomb charm on his slate.
“My friend!” Sidon called, stretching his clawed hand out in a last-ditch effort. “Please, talk to us! What has happened to you?” The words crawled out of his throat before he could stop them, the strain in his body evident as he pushed ever closer to them. Ganondorf, his hand still on the back of their neck, pulled them back as the Zora stretched.
“You… you are desperate.” Ganondorf looked down his nose at the pair, orange eyes gleaming with poorly-hidden disdain. The Gerudo released his grip on the Oracle, who stumbled forward. Sidon retracted ever so slightly when they didn’t come forward. He heard Link take in a gasp through his teeth when a faint golden light began to emit from their right hand. Sidon heard the sound of Link unsheathing his sword and turned sharply, missing the way the Oracle readied the lightscale trident.
“Well, you want your friend back that badly?” Ganondorf pushed the Oracle forward, who’s eyes snapped open upon the contact. They were completely white, rolled back into their head as if they were asleep. Then, with a foreign strength and speed, charged forward.
“Take them.”
-
You didn’t know where you were.
Surrounded by white walls that stretched almost endlessly, your footsteps echoed as you padded forward. There seemed to be a thin stretch of water along the floor, for every step you took it rippled and sent droplets flying. It wasn’t noticeably warm or cold, nor did you feel the water against your skin when you bent down to touch it. The liquid just rolled off your skin, repelling everything you were.
You were walking for what felt like hours, but could as easily have been minutes. Everything was aimless, weightless, timeless. Was this a vision? Where were you before you were… here?
A sudden pain erupted from your side, causing you to double over and kneel in the water. You coughed as the blow sent fire through your skin, and when you wiped your mouth there was a black substance staining the back of your hand. Why couldn’t you feel any warning? Your gift allowed you to never be completely surprised, so why were you taken so off-guard? You sat back on your heels, touching the sludge between your fingers as fear curled deep in your belly. Blood? No, it was much too dark and thick. Were you ill? Could you even grow ill in a vision?
A similar pain knocked through your left temple, knocking you onto your side as you cried out. This pain flowed through your bloodstream and rocked through your core, magnetizing behind your sternum. You turned over onto your stomach, dry-heaving with the weight of it. More black ooze dripped from your mouth and you felt it travel beneath your skin. You scratched at your skin, trying to rid yourself of the sensation. You had never felt pain this great in a vision, never felt ache and panic this real.
What do you want of me? You cried out, but your voice carried nowhere. You coughed again, burning ice-cold within you.
Please, just get me out of here. Send me home.
You were like that for a very long time. Crying out for someone, anyone to hear you, but no one came. You were alone, isolated in an echo chamber of tortuous pain that you couldn’t sense coming. You had never been so scared in your life. And that was saying something, considering the events that have occurred over the past few days.
Wait.
What had happened over the past few days?
Hands were on the back of your head.
“You need to wake up now.” A voice echoed, soft and bodiless and warm, neither male nor female. It eased all the pain ricocheting through you, and your spine softened.
Where am I? You asked again, still in your head. You figured they could probably hear it.
“You are within your mind. A shared space between you and the goddesses.”
Who are you?
The voice hummed. “I think you already know that.”
The voice was right. You did.
“I need you to do something for me, child.”
What is it?
One of the hands left your head and guided your hand up. A ball of light appeared in your palm, taking the shape of a small triangle. You furrowed your brow. It was distinctly familiar, but you couldn’t quite place it. Its glow thrummed in time with your heart, and it seemed almost a part of you.
“Watch over this for me.”
-
“Sidon!” Link called, jumping out of the way a split second before the Oracle would’ve skewered him like a kebab. The prince was frozen in place, holding onto the base of the trident with giant hands. The Oracle shook with the pressure of it, continuously trying to drive the weapon into his gut.
“Sidon!” Link yelled again, and caught a glimpse of the expression Sidon wore. He was utterly distraught, mouth forming words that his throat couldn’t supply the energy to back up. Link drew his bow, firing an ice arrow just off to the side of the Zora. Sidon jumped, looking Link in the eye.
“You have to distract them!” Link called, skidding to a halt as he prepared to launch himself onto Vah Ruta’s trunk. “I have to go after Ganon, can you handle this on your own?”
“I-“ Sidon swallowed dryly, looking down at the Oracle. There was no evidence of strain or effort on their face, no emotion whatsoever. The only thing that gave it away that they weren’t a damned statue was the shaking in their arms as they attempted to overpower him. “I don’t want to hurt them.”
“You have to do whatever it takes!” Link swore as Vah Ruta began to turn towards Zora Domain. “Listen to me! Swear to me you will keep your people safe!”
Sidon looked up at the Hylian. Link’s face was distraught, red with the effort of speaking and he could hear the way the blond’s voice cracked and strained. He looked back at the Oracle, completely not themself. He felt guilt wind up right within him. Damn the gods for putting him in such a position.
“I swear,” Sidon concluded, looking back to Link who looked more relieved than he ever had. Sidon jostled the trident, sending the handle flying into the Oracle’s side. It seemed to knock them off balance for a moment.
“Now go!”
Link had already taken off.
Sidon growled as he readied his spear, gripping low on the poll. The Oracle steadied themselves, crouching low and shifting their weight. Sidon watched the black sludge drip from their mouth and small cuts along their body.
Malice.
“My dear, please wake up.” Sidon pleaded once more, stepping in a slow circle as they did the same. The pair rotated around each other, fostering a growing tension. “I do not wish to harm you, but-“
Sidon stammered, tightening his grip on his spear. “-But our companion is right. My loyalty belongs to my people first, I’m sorry.”
The Oracle’s face twitched, which Sidon took as a win. But then, the Oracle lunged forward, and the feeling was quickly lost.
-
Link rolled as he landed on the back of Vah Ruta, drawing the sword at his back as he lifted himself up onto his feet. Ganondorf turned slowly, clicking his tongue disappointedly.
“Back again? Can you truly not resist fighting with me every regeneration?”
Link remained silent, his throat already raw and sore from all the damned talking he’s done today. Ganon seemed put off by this, turning fully to face the Hylian. Link took in his appearance, from the sword at his hip to the missing jewel atop his forehead. The crown that held his hair back was cracked down the middle, leaving a jagged scar in the center of his forehead. There was a similar scar in the middle of his chest, where his shirt and overcoat were torn and bloody. He looked like a corpse given new life, which was actually very appropriate.
“Not in the mood for conversation?” Ganon asked, only half rhetorically, and clapped his hands in front of his chest. “You wound me.”
Good, Link thought pointedly. I hope you bleed out and die.
“Well, let’s get to the point I suppose.” Ganondorf pulled his sword, glowing white and intricately carved. The Master Sword in Link’s hand seemed to glow in time, pulsing and groaning under his fingers. Almost alive. He only had a moment to ponder on this fact before Ganondorf was swiping his sword through the air, landing a slice on Link’s cheek.
“You know, with all your knightley persuasions,” Ganon hissed, swearing when Link hit his stomach with his shield. “I thought you’d be a little more keen on protecting those who you’re close to!”
Link furrowed his brow, not taking the bait. He missed when Ganondorf was just a mass of arms and hatred, at least then he didn’t have to sit through all his awful monologuing. He threw a bomb at the Gerudo, detonating it as soon as it was near his feet. It barely did a thing, however, as Ganondorf swung his arm through the smoke with a crazed expression.
“You’ve always had such a hard time protecting Zelda and all your little companions, but now?” Their swords clashed and sparks flew from the metal. “You’ve lost every single one of the Champions! How awful it must feel to be that incompetent!”
Ganondorf pushed Link away, the blond’s feet skidding atop Vah Ruta’s back. For a split second, he swore he could see the shadowy form of Mipha in front of him, her hand at his jaw and a sad smile across her lips. A twisting guilt coursed through him as he looked up at her, and then a bigger pain collided with him as Ganon’s fist collided with his stomach. Link felt himself go weightless in the air before Ganondorf’s giant hand gripped his head and forced him into Vah Ruta’s ceiling. The rock cracked around him and he cried out, blood dribbling from where he bit his tongue on the landing.
“Look, hero.” Ganon sneered, forcing Link’s head back up and over the view of the Zora domain. It truly was a beautiful place, Link thought, vision swirling with the whiplash. “Look what has become of your precious Oracle.”
-
Sidon spluttered, the world halting in its tracks. Blood, thick and warm, flowed over his hands and dripped onto the cracked marble terrain. He looked to the Oracle, crimson droplets spattered across their cheekbone and making lines of red that resembled tear streaks. He hadn’t meant to hurt them, he thought with panging guilt as he brought a hand to rest on the side of their face. Maybe if he could pour an elixir on their wound, it would close long enough to have a healer pay proper attention to it. In the middle of his thoughts, the Oracle tugged on their trident and Sidon felt a ripping sensation tear through his abdomen.
Oh. They weren’t bleeding. He was. Of course.
He rested his hand on his stomach and felt where the flesh was ripped like wet paper. He brought the hand back up and looked at it dumbly, smearing the crimson color between the pads of his fingertips and watching as it spread and clotted back together. Fascinating, he thought to himself, how the body always longs to stick together. The more reasonable part of him screamed at how inappropriate of a time it was to be thinking this way, and that he was bleeding out at that very moment you imbecile, get up! But he couldn’t stand to listen to that voice.
So he fell to his knees, and then further.
Then the world went black.

Made the mistake of replaying BOTW and my god I am FERAL over prince Sidon I want this mans children
I don’t care if he has sharp teeth, I’m riding his face anyway
I would give obnoxious amounts of money to be his Hylian bride
prrr!!! Sidon my love!!! his titties......his smile.......he is the whole package. AND BABY SIDON-
Tumblr media
like you cannot tell me Sidon wouldn't be the best shark papa nor that he wouldn't want enough babies to fill the whole domain. like imagine Zelda showing him a photo she took of his young self from 100 years ago and Sidon just feeling something tighten and snap inside him--sure, of course he's seen Zora babies and children running around the domain, but if that's how cute he was as a child he can only imagine how adorable his babies with you would be. especially if you're a Hylian or an otherwise non-Zora, because then it would be so obvious to everyone else that his royal children are yours! sweet and small and mostly Zora-like, but with those distinct features that etch your influence into their very being. the world will change and the water may run new courses, but his sons and daughters will always have you and him as their parents.
plus, having a Hylian bride would ensure that he won't have to worry nearly as much about you wandering off or getting into trouble in the water; even if you're a strong swimmer, the currents downriver of the domain are too dangerous for you and you'll have to stick to the reservoir if you want to do any swimming. unless, of course, you're riding on Sidon's back--which you might feel guilty about asking for so much, but he couldn't be happier to do it and take you wherever you want to go. if you get ambushed by monsters or Yiga, he'll have the chance to show off how strong he is! and you'll know you picked the perfect man to protect you and your future/current family. Zora are all about those intricate displays of strength, gifts, or aggression to woo their mates after all, and though it feels a bit brutish Sidon's definitely the best at aggression. including those other areas of romance that he can't wait to explore with you....if you haven't bedded a Zora before, you certainly aren't going to want anything else once he's done with you, he can promise you that.

OKAY SO HAVE FUN READING BECAUSE THIS IS STUCK IN MY HEAD.
squish.. squish... squish
with every second that passed, link squished y/ns cheeks over and over again. if someone was looking even just a little closer, they could tell how links eyes were sparkling as he squished y/ns cheeks. although her cheeks were nearly sore, y/n didnt feel like complaying. Links warm hands felt soft against her cheeks, and the sensation was more than just comforting.
Zelda on the other hand has been brushing y/ns long hair for so long, that y/n couldnt even remember when it started.
"Link", links flinched a little, as if he just woke up from a trance. Link thought y/n didnt like him squishing and practically needing her soft skin, so he lowered his hands.
"oh dont worry, you just seemed a little distant. i just wanted to see if you were okay", y/n guided links hands back to her face.
"y/n can i braid your hair?", Zelda asked. "braid my hair?", as far as y/n remembers, she never had anything done with her hair.
"you never braided your hair?", a surprised expression made its way on zeldas face. "I'm not sure if i even know what it means", y/n smiled, turning her head to look at zelda. "but you can do anything you want with my hair!", y/n allowed zelda. to those words, zeldas face lit up and she lifted her hands to start braiding y/ns hair.
...
"aaandd done!", zelda clasped her hands together. she had finished loosely braiding y/ns hair. y/n stood up to look at her hair.
the braid reached down to her waist, and she twirled around in her dress, and the new sensation of her hair. she always just had her hair open. never bothered by it.
Zelda admired y/n and her beautifully done work with a huge smile and tears nearly forming in her eyes. link on the other hand had flushed cheeks and his nose bleeding
EEE YESS I shall include this in the story at some point. Might as well use this as an opportunity to say the updates won’t be as frequent due to school work but I shall try. Don’t mind me as I add on to this cause I can’t stop myself- Enjoy this and some headcanons about them playing with Y/N’s hair for all the romantic interests I’m gonna include in the story, spoilers I guess-
Yandere behaviour and NSFW topics
Zelda threw her arms around Y/N as she just looked back at her confused. Link wiped the blood from his nose as he shot an envious glare at Zelda who gave him a smug smirk back. Y/N was clueless as always, just enjoying spending time with the two Hylians. It wasn’t uncommon for their rivalry to lead to fights, but never in front of their little Angel!
Now onto the headcanons!
Our Yanderes playing with Y/N’s hair
Tumblr media
Link
He is very eager to play with your hair.
To him it's a sign of trust, he gets to braid your hair and you can play with his when he's not busy.
He hates watching other people, especially Zelda, play with your hair.
Usually, he has you sit in his lap but this can make him rather...excited so try not to wriggle too much
Tumblr media
Zelda
She is always playing with your hair.
She likes to put her hair clips in your hair and often weaves her favourite flowers as a way of claiming you.
If she sees another knight around Hyrule Castle even touch your hair, she will demand they be executed.
But hey, it's all because she loves you.
Tumblr media
Urbosa
She doesn't often play with your hair.
Don't get me wrong she enjoys it but, would much rather have her hands on your shoulder.
Unlike Zelda, her way of marking you is by having you wear some of her jewellery
Or dark hickeys she's given you while no one looking...that works too.
Tumblr media
Mipha
Mipha enjoys running her hands through your hair.
She doesn't do it often but she is eager for any physical contact with you away from the others.
She tends to give you cheek kisses while playing with your hair though, she enjoys that far more.
Tumblr media
Revali
It isn't easy for our bird boy to play with your hair.
He does however thread his feathers into your hair as a way of claiming you
It's also part of the Rito’s mating ritual, but you didn't hear it from me-
Tumblr media
Sidon
Surprisingly, he doesn't play with your hair for a long period of time.
Usually, because he gets distracted and it becomes far more intimate-
What can I say, Shark boy likes to bite you and stake his claim.
Tumblr media
Robbie, Purah and Impa (Yes you get them all together-)
These three love to play with your hair.
Impa likes to try out traditional Sheika hairstyles on you
Robbie lets you okay with his hair while you give each other wild hairstyles
Purah like to run her hands through your hair while going over research, she can focus best when you're in her arms
Tumblr media
Kohga and Sooga (My Yiga Husbands-)
Both of them are obsessed with you, and very open about it.
Sooga will sit you down in his lap, and play with your hair while Kohga lays his head in your lap, usually kissing your stomach repeatedly.
They are very intimate any chance they get, and to touch your hair, they're very close.
Please don't push them away if they try and touch your hair, Kohga will whine for hours on end and Sooga will feel like he did something wrong, so be nice.
Tumblr media
Ganondorf
The moment you're close enough for him to play with your hair, you're not getting away.
He will hold you against him while runs his hand through your hair over and over, his spare hand rubbing your inner thighs.
He also most definitely likes pulling your hair if you “misbehave”
He wants to give you freedom, but with the champions looking for you, and the Yiga betraying him and going after you, he just can't let you.
Don't fight him, there's no use. If you submit I can promise your life will be so much nicer. You'll be truly treated like his queen.
Tumblr media
Ah, that's it, my hands hurt from typing so quickly. Im gonna go back and look at sexy Ganon, man I'm down bad for this man.

Fandom‧˚。゚・° 。✎ Legend of Zelda (age of calamity)
Pairing‧˚。゚・° 。✎ Yandere!Calamity x reader
Word count‧˚。゚・° 。✎ 3618
Summery‧˚。゚・° 。✎ another prompt list thing, but this time its the revamped yandere alphabet ask game wich you can find here. i answered all of them and got a bit carried away.
Misc‧˚。゚・° 。✎ not proofread at all I dont want to and you cant make me, stalking, kidnapping, Calamity has issues with the royal family and Zelda, i couldnt decide to place this before, during, or after the events of the game so its all a bet on which.
Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?
He is attached to you at the hip. It kind of throws everyone in for a loop because he follows you the same way he does the princess. Just trailing you around and making sure you  get to your house safe, oftentimes he'll even go inside to make sure that you're safe there too. He doesn't involve himself in your life at first, rather hes just happy to be able to spend time with you, even if you aren't aware he's there. It can be a bit strange at times with the way he doesn't talk and just stares off into the distance or the way everyone seems to talk about the two of you even when you're not even that close yet but he seems to enjoy spending time with you. It’s hard to push him away when all he’s doing is escorting you.
Which is where things start to shift. As he gets more comfortable with you he will start to open up more. It's easy to see where his knightly training begins and doesn't really stop (he joined them around the age of twelve or something?) but he isn't always some silent statue. Rather once he starts to open up it's hard not to notice.
The way he starts moving less mechanically around your house. Slouching on the couch next to you or mumbling curses under his breath when the food doesn't turn out just right. He makes the conscious choice to put on this facade to the public and around others so much so that when he takes it off he is already confessing his love to you. It’s impossible not to notice this fact with the way he is always around you and never says why. Just that he has a desire to keep you safe.
How intense this is is how much you fight back. Won’t allow yourself to be seen with him? He'll follow you from further behind. You avoid him? Impossible, he'll just ask around and say it's an order or something. Lock all your doors? He's already requested another key from a local smith. No matter how far you get he's not that far behind you. Especially not after the towers rise and he gets to teleport all over Hyrule.
:readmore:
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
Yes. I feel like he would be almost numb to violence to the point that the only thing that stops him is his knightly training. He can't just fight someone out of the blue, he has to reason that they deserved it because they were terrible people already. This isn't hard for him to do but he does have to make a few steps to reason out what they've done however most if not all of it is done clean and efficiently. The war claims another life and no one bats an eye.
Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
Absolutely not. Not even in a joking manner he finds that even when you jokingly pick on the ones you love it doesn't actually show that you love them; being kind no matter what is far more important than taking the time to get in a quick joke.
That being said he just does not care at all if you fight back or kick and scream because he sees it as a natural response to the situation. You won't win any of the fights and no one will ever hear your screams but he does understand why you're scared and he gives you your space. It's like having a new cat in the house. You can follow them as they explore their new home but picking them up may get you scratches!
Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?
He would get a kick at making you dance with him by coercing you or promising to give you a small privilege back in return. He never gets the chance to dance a lot at the balls and parties that are thrown in Hyrule castle because he has to guard the princess but he loves to do so. Makes him feel like a proper knight courting someone and he likes to treat you with proper chivalrous attitudes and gifts while pretending this is a normal relationship.
Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
After the fighting is done he's a lot more open with how much he hated the part he played in the war with how useless he felt the whole time. Later he starts looking back on events like getting the mastersword and realises that everyone was wrong about him and he did do a lot of work. The fact that everyone sweeps him under the rug never goes unignored but he doesn't try to fight it much because to do so would mean fighting years worth of politics and the royalty of this decade being worse than Wild’s because they never had to admit that their plan with the guardians was the wrong way to go (cough Zelda cough) which means that any complaints fall on deaf ears. They won so that's all that matters, right?
If it's during the war he’s quiet and doesn't talk but it's really easy to tell what's on his mind. From the way he collapses next to you after a few days away fighting on the front lines or how he can't let go to say goodbye because he just ended then more minutes of this. You own his heart and it's written all over his actions but he doesn't say it much. You can tell what's up with him but not enough to know the details; all you can see are the broad strokes.
Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
He does not care. You need time to adjust and that much is clear just don't hurt yourself or try to start an actual fight and you'll be allowed time and space to process your new arrangement.
Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?
Trying to escape or even planning an attempt is one of the worst things you can do with him. Calamity as a yandere is aware of his actions but just delusional enough to believe that you love him regardless/can learn to love him regardless. I feel like he wouldn't just up and abandon his duties but if you ran away he would have to until he could get you back. This is the most heartbreaking thing you can do with him because he needs the balance between home and work life and you were that outlet and after you leave he has to make a choice between his own selfish needs and his duty as a knight and hero. Regardless of what happens and if you're successful at walking away or not he will have a meltdown and the fallout if he manages to catch you will be severe. Even if it's not your fault someone has to take the blame for his leave of absence and he can hardly explain you away now can he?
Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?
Depending on the type of person you are it can be one of three things his lack of expression on what he wants from you, him being unaware of how his manners and actions can come off as cold or cruel, or the fact that he truly does not care what you say to him he's convinced you're in love with him and just need time to settle down.
Like on one hand not knowing what this person wants from you and him never expressing it is scary but there's ways to work around it. His noncommittal town and the way he shrugs after every question is annoying but not hostile. The militaristic attitudes and cold gleam in his eye scares you more than how uncaring he is. It's unnerving how whenever you have a thought about acting up he stares at you with a wolf's grin; almost daring you to try him so he can show you how little it would matter.
Lastly it's the delusions that get you the most. The way he acts as if this is just a nonuniform household where the homelife will just slowly get better. He expects you to be a stay at home lover with all the benefits that come with it. Hell sneaks up behind you for a kiss goodbye and gets confused as to why you move away. Him sneaking into your shared bed at night gives you a heart attack each morning because you never heard him come home much less slip into bed. Each time you show some amount of fear or hesitation genuinely doesn't register why you're upset at first. Like there is a literal brick wall between the man and what he's done. Of course he knows and the wall starts to crumble at times but is it staying up safer for you than the alternative?
Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?
A two story house with a white picket fence or the two of you travelling around Hyrule together without a care in the world. A vacation really. He just wants to live with you and get to know you and always have you by his side. Really as long as you're there with him he can settle into just about any routine.
Life isn't always so kind however. He is both tied to the royal family as a knight and unable to leave until the war is packed up, cleaned up, and the remains are nowhere to be seen because of his role as the hero and it being his job to help sort out this mess. Before and during the war he's too focused on trying to keep it all from falling apart that he can hardly give either of you a relaxing life away from it all; and afterwards he can't leave just yet. Maybe in a few years or something. Link will have to wait and see what the future holds.
Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?
Not only does this Link get really jealous but his way of coping is to just get a house somewhere away from everyone. Deep into a forest so that your only contact is his type of jealousy. It’s not really his fault he just can't help it. With all the monsters roaming around now, the calamity acting up, and the yiga clan assassins Calamity can not and will not risk losing you. Not his shining star.
Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?
Silent guardian or loving husband. He has two modes and I think that about sums it up. He is either falling back onto his knight training and acting like a blushing mess around you while trying to be quiet and cordial or he's holding onto you from behind layering kisses onto your neck talking about what to bring on the picnic he's planning. Once he comes out of his shell it’s hard for him to go back in. Link’s just so in love with you acting like you're already married feels so natural. The calming effect it has on him is another reason for locking you away from the rest of the world. He can hardly risk losing you, not after everything that's happened.
Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?
Time spent together is both a love language and a stalking habit for him. It may seem like he's acting out of the blue or like everyone knows about how he feels except for you and that's because he has far too much anxiety to approach you at first. People will see how he acts around you and connect the dots but he would rather fight a hundred boblokins than approach you so his main task is to stay out of your sight until he feels safe. Once he's over the pounding in his chest when he gets close he'll start to just hover around. At this point it's up to you to talk to him or make the first move because this man will do nothing to announce himself. He'll just follow you around until the day he kidnaps you and the whiplash will be so staggering due to the fact that he just assumes you'll happily live with him.
Mask: Are their true colours drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?
Sort of? This isn't to say that his real personality is hiding away somewhere; rather , he does open up and talk to you more than he does other people. Zelda sees it sometimes, Revali likes to tease it out of him, and the other champions see it the most due to the time they all spend together. It's not like he  enjoys hiding or or his knightly demeanour is a facade but he does have more to him hiding away until it feels safe to let it free again.
Naughty: How would they punish their darling?
Calamity would say that the punishment needs to be fitting of the crime so this would change depending on what you've done and the severity of the damage. Running away? You'll be chained to the bed or a wall until he's certain you won't again. Fighting him too much? Exposure therapy you have to lay with him on the bed for several hours while he cuddles you and plays with your hair. Got caught with a weapon? He'll take away all sharp objects including forks!
Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?
As many as it takes to get the job done. Link knows that you won't be happy as he slowly strips you of your autonomy but if he has to for the two of you to have a happy ending together he will.
Patience: How patient are they with their darling?
He’s patient up until it starts becoming a problem. You can do whatever you want until it starts to have consequences. You can shout and holler all you want but if he gets a headache, you start to lose your voice, or if it gets a bit too loud and he's worried someone will hear you he'll put an end to it.
Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
Nope! Even during the war with how many people just went missing or were lost to time he never gives up hope. He knows that you're out there somewhere. There's no way someone as sweet as you was left to rot in some field without him. The gods themselves would have to come down and relay the information before he would accept it.
Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?
He feels bad about the negative ways it seems to have affected you but he doesn't actually feel bad about abducting you. Just that he understands why you're upset and hates to see you in pain. You wouldn't be let go but he can be convinced to give you a shooter leash, to the point that the collar has almost fallen off. It takes a long time because he doesn't trust easy but Calamity can be talked into giving you free time alone and the option to walk around as you choose as long as he trusts you to stay one hundred percent.
Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?
A mixture of how he was raised and needing an outlet for his emotions. That isn't to say he needs an outlet for negative emotions, far from that there's plenty of enemies on the field, instead he has all these soft spots he doesn't feel safe showing anyone but you. Kidnapping you is a knee jerk reaction from him due to having this strong feeling of adoration for this diamond among coal.
Joining the knights while twelve years old, thrown into the world of politics with no prior knowledge, trusting the higher ups absolutely only to watch as their plans fail and collapse in on themselves, and knowing that everyone sees him as a figure rather than a person makes you the anomaly. You're so sweet and kind and you don't even make fun of him or talk behind his back. Your smile feels so real that he can't let go. He needs you, he needs to feel like himself again.
Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?
It hurts him but all of your actions as long as they seem like an appropriate response for the situation make him hurt but he can hardly stop you unless it becomes an issue. You need your time to heal and adjust just like he does. If he stopped you it would only send a message that your emotions aren't important as his comfort around those emotions. A situation he's all too familiar with; so he lets you do as you will so long as you stay happy and healthy overall.
Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?
Calamity would bring you so many trophies from his time spent in the war. A lynel horn from one that snuck into an outpost. He tells you exactly what happened and how he defeated it, and oh so happily shows off the blood stained trophy while you wonder if someone so sweet looking could really do something so violent. He'll keep them around the house along with a collection of other items that he's gathered over his time travelling around Hyrule. He likes to bring you parts of the outside world so you don't grow depressed while trapped inside the house.
Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?
There are times he lets his guard down and those show that it is an option to try and get away, but let's be real here he can never truly let his guard down because of the stress of the world literally self destructing around him so it's pretty much impossible unless he's not around. Maybe the time he spends away from you is his biggest weakness but he can always get you back can't he?
Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?
Not on purpose. In his mind it's his job to protect you at all costs, no matter who he has to get through! Hurting you even as a form of punishment is not an option. He will find other ways around the issue because he could never bring himself to hurt you. Doesn't mean he can't intimidate you.
Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?
Oh ok so this might get a little sappy but he spends every moment he can daydreaming about you. When he picks up an item he thinks about showing it to you so you can see the same things he does. He'll attempt to include you into every little part of his life because that's how he wants you to treat him. He wants to get to know everything about you because all those little details about you fascinate him and make him fall deeper in love with you. Watching you stand across the kitchen choosing your favourite mug makes his heart skip a beat because he knows it's your favourite and he made you clean it so you would have it this morning. His acts of love language are acts of service (such as watching over you or proving himself as courageous enough) and giving you love in the same way he wants to be loved.
He knows he can't bring you along on his adventure but he still wants you there. He can't place you in danger but him being Link is more than a title to him and the way that everyone treats it as a thing someone can fit into rather than who he is as a person makes him upset. This is to say he would like to bring you along on trips to camp and show you the countryside like he could have in breath of the wild but he is unable to in this timeline. Making bringing you items from his trips back the only way he can break this barrier without leaving you  in or near an active warzone.
Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?
Several months. He can last a few months before realising you are the sun to his moon and he has to protect that light or else he might lose it forever.
Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?
No! He doesn't want you to break, he wants you to love him as much as he loves you. This might not be entirely possible but he knows you can try. Maybe if all things work out you can even have a somewhat normal relationship if you don't mind all the rules you  have to follow. It is dangerous to go alone after all.

Memories I hope to Hold
Cal!LinkxReader Hurt/Comfort I think
TW: Mentions of death and the Calamity but that’s really it
Not edited, please excuse my poor spelling
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
Today you were going to die. You had less qualms with it than you originally expected. After everything that had happened in the past few months or was it a year yet? death just seemed like an unfortunate add on to the many, many things out of your control. The sun hadn’t even breached the horizon, yet you didn’t miss its warmth. You’d only have until midday to bask in it if you were lucky, and even then you weren’t sure you wanted to. Despite the early morning dew still sticking to the grass, some of Hateno was awake with you. The tech lab, for which you’d been residing since your arrival, if you could even call it that, had white tufts of smoke pluming out from its stone chimney. Purah and Robbie had been lovely friends, letting you chip in with your knowledge about Hyrule. It was amazing to have ears that listened rather than dismissing you, you might not have been from Hyrule, but that didn’t mean that you knew nothing. Of course, you knew the story’s beginning. But more importantly, you knew it’s morbid end. The world to dust and ashes and everyone you knew either laying within their graves or just about approaching. You looked over your map one more time, each shrine you wished to visit pinned carefully. Your hand hovered over the glass screen of your sheikah ‘switch’, your old and once broken nintendo switch repaired with sheikah magic. Purahs birthday gift to you. You pressed decisively on the Central tower.
You looked out at the field you arrived here in, nothing but your switch and the clothes off your back. The sun painted the familiar field a soft gold, so deceptively welcoming. You thought back to that very day, surly a year ago by now.
*:・゚✧*:・゚
Your head was splitting. The open sky above you swirled and faded in and out. Your limbs were made of lead and two voices spoke words you could not make out, but it didn’t matter, you could not bring yourself to care.
When your eyes flicked back open you were met with an incredibly confusing sight. Lush grass for hundreds of meters around, wildflowers dotting the green field with bright color, your switch was now shattered on your chest and you were not on Earth anymore. No. Not close. Two familiar blondes stared at you. One set of green eyes, incredibly concerned, eyebrows knitted with worry. The other set of blue, distrusting and guarded, arm extended to keep the other back, but beneath the harshness, you saw fragility. Maybe not now, granted, but you knew it was there. But so long spent observing Link’s journeys and memories, it’s difficult to fool you with hardened eyes and armour after you saw what lay beneath. You sat up, pushing off the ground to stand, shuffling back on your feet. The blood drained from your head, leaving you woozy and dizzy. You righted yourself as carefully as you could, not wishing to do yourself any more damage.
“U-Uh Where…” Words came slow and difficult, like the words had to pass through a coffee filter to get out, “Where are we?” You knew- well, you didn’t know but you had an idea.
“Central Hyrule, South east of Castle Town. What are you- How did you get here?” The princess had an equal parts wonder as distrust in her tone. You made your decisions rapidly, pretending not to know too much might fair well depending on what they know.
“Hyrule? Castle town? Forgive me I am… Unfamiliar… How did I?” You looked around, the familiar tower glowing a brilliant blue stood tall behind you. You staggered back, trying still to comprehend what it was you were seeing. “What on Earth? I don’t.” You turned back around to see the two moved away from you when you moved closer. You tried your hardest to not take it personally. “I’m sorry, I’m not quite sure myself.” Your voice was quiet and tapered off, the familiar bite of panic knawed just behind your sternum. Your lungs drew their breaths quicker, your aching mind tried to race to a probable conclusions and drawing up blanks.
“You do not know of Hyrule?”
Yes. “No.”
“How Peculiar”
*:・゚✧*:・゚
How peculiar it was indeed. Moreover that you ended up staying with the both of them for longer after that. It was funny how that entire conversation determined everything that happened afterward. Zelda and you worked on the study of the divine beast and their functions, you learned a great deal of Hyrule’s history and culture from her, adapting to your new home. And Link… well you had just as many words to describe him as words he had to say. Infinitely many, and yet no mix of them could truly ever make sense, to you or to anyone else. Besides, You had to get home, not dwell on such trivial thoughts and such sharp eyes and caring nature and selfless kindness. The world demanded your attention elsewhere, and so you went. Your fingers hovered carefully over the Akh Va’quot shrine before feeling yourself be whisked away.
You tugged your cloak around you as the familiar bite of Hebra’s wind hit once more. Rito Village bustled with the early morning chores, children running around and adults setting up their businesses. You remembered the first time you came here like it was yesterday, the so many rows of stairs captivating in combination with the bird people that inhabited it.
*:・゚✧*:・゚
You could hardly contain yourself as you made you way up all of the stairs. You were spellbound -as you frequently were by Hyrule, how couldnt you?- by the rolling mountains and staggering peaks of Hebra around you. The rest of the champions were already met at Revali’s landing, talking with one another with practiced ease you’d yet to find. You hung back, admiring the views while Zelda and Link passed, letting them join the flow of conversation before you had to. Greetings were exchanged, some even to you which you tried to meet with the same warmth. And yet you couldn’t find it in yourself. Looking at the group of champions, you couldn’t help but feel like an add on… an extra piece of a puzzle there was no room for. You’d met with them more than a few times before, and every time you were met with nothing but welcome, especially after they were informed of your circumstance (and got over their rightful unease). You were so withdrawn that you failed to notice the group trying to draw your attention. You jumped slightly as a gentle hand rested on your shoulder, tensing completely before relaxing. The group stared at you for a moment, and all you wanted to do was leave, to run into the forest and never have to face them again. You might’ve, If it weren’t for Link’s hand on your shoulder, keeping you just the slightest bit grounded.
“Hey, (y/n) you alright?” Daruk was hardly ever worried, as he hardly ever had much that could cause genuine threat to him.
“Yeah sorry I just- I- We dont have sights like this back home and I guess I just feel a little homesick.” Not technically a lie, but not a whole truth.
“Understandable. Rito village is a sight for everyone, even for those from Hyrule. It is no surprise you’re captivated.” Revali crossed his arms? wings? And closed his eyes with confidence, smirking if he could. You allowed yourself a polite smile and another look at the surrounding mountains.
“I find myself more impressed the longer I stay here. It only makes me want to see more. I will say, Zoras domain can’t be topped by anything in my mind.” Mipha smiles gratefully, you’d managed to form a genuine connection with her, especially considering how sweet she was. The rest of that evening went smoothly, plans and conversation explained and discussed over a long dinner.
By the end, the sun was nearly gone, its warmth leaving with it. As you began to leave for the castle, a familiar grey cloak was slipped around your shoulders. It smelled vaguely of pine and grass, sunken into the fabric to the point it couldn’t be removed. You stared at the knight as he walked away from you, a flush growing over your cheeks with your endearing smile.
*:・゚✧*:・゚
You still smiled at the memory, something so trivial at the time was so… easy to read now. You checked the time- shit. You were running late. You had give or take two or three hours left before the sky came falling in. Before the worlds malice stood to fight once more. You didn’t think twice this time before clicking on the Mogg Latan shrine.
Mount Satori was just as beautiful as it always was. The twisting cherry tree letting its fragile pink blossoms fall into the clear water. Silent princesses bloomed around the rocks in the water. You could see your own bittersweet smile in the reflection.
*:・゚✧*:・゚
“Where in the world are you taking me” Link led you determinedly by the hand, mischievous smile taken his face when he told you he had something to show you. Being wholly honest he could’ve shown you a wall of wet paint and you’d have watched it dry if it made him happy.
“You’re awfully impatient” Goddesses how you loved his voice, rare as it was. You could hear his sass, making you role your eyes in turn.
“You’re awfully secretive.” To be fair he couldn’t rebuke that, there was no lie in your words. So he simply kept moving onward.
Your breath was stolen as you looked at the lake in front of you. The familiar time-old cherry blossom in full bloom. A single pink petal fell, rippling against the clear water. You kept your hand weaved with Link’s as you maces closer. After admiring the scene before you your lips pursed to get out a word.
“Link- This- It’s utterly gorgeous” Your words were nearly gone with the wind, not wanting to intrude into the serenity with your words.
“Really is.” You turned to face him and his tender words to find his eyes already on yours. Now you were really speechless. His eyes were softened and cheeks slightly flushed as he took you in, memorising your face. And you found yourself doing the same, but there wasn’t much you hadn’t already noticed. The hairline scar aver his lip, sun spots over his cheeks from so long under the suns rays, wild sandy bangs obscuring his eyes from your view.
“One of the sights I want to hold onto and never let go” His words were equally as quiet now, as if he didn’t want even you to hear them. And in one of your rare moments of courage you found it in you to speak.
“Then don’t.” He took you in his arms so gently, wrapping himself around you as if you’d shatter. But even with that, you knew when you were flush that you’d never truly leave this moment. You were met with the same scent again, pine and grass. He pulled back sooner than what you would’ve liked, but he did not give you long to mourn the loss. A calloused hand gently traced your jaw before his eyes of the endless sky above met with yours again. He kissed you slow and longing, so long spent yearning for you that it bled into his affection. Link had always felt himself tugging you closer, wanting to enjoy the moment before he was forced to abandon it. And he always was.
*:・゚✧*:・゚
In hindsight, you did get too attached. But you wouldn’t blame yourself, how could you? You were given the chance to be love and be loved in return that you didn’t see how far you’d fall afterward. But maybe meeting the world with open arms really was worth it. Maybe finally figuring out your place in the world was worth it. And maybe letting yourself fall for a love you could never have was worth it as well. A shrill cry pierced the once cerulean blue sky as it bled carmine red. You knew how the story ended, so how foolish you were to hope you could avoid it.

impa is a very loving girlfriend, who always supports you wherever she can!
she's your biggest supporter and is almost blind to your flaws, thinking that you're just the coolest person she knows
she's really happy that she's your girlfriend, often finding herself bragging about dating you to others!
impa is pretty jealous, so bragging about being your girlfriend is also a good way to let other people know that you are taken
she's a bit immature at times and when you're not spending enough time with her, she's pouting until she gets your attention!
since she's so deeply in love with you, impa wants to do everything in her power to protect you!
she couldn't bear losing you, so she insists on protecting you, but tends to be quite overprotective!
you don't argue a lot, but whenever she coddles you too much, you have to get stern with her and tell her that you can take care of yourself
impa would prefer to be the one protecting you, but she reluctantly agrees to stop being so overprotective

« Stay || Revali ||
A/n: look I’m not good at coming up with titles.
Prompt used:
❝ i don’t have nightmares when you’re there. Here❞
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nightmare’s we’re nothing new, ever since what happened you felt like you were plagued with him, except when Revali was near you. It was just a comfort, you felt safe around him. You were spending another night with him and while he still maybe cocky he never tried anything.
The previous night was awful, the nightmare was awful that your barley slept yet you never told him because you rather not burden the Rito with everything that he had to deal with. But seeing he was turning to leave you, the words quickly left your mouth. “Wait!”
Turing abruptly, Revali bit back a ‘what’ though seeing how troubled you looked his gaze couldn’t help but soften. “What is it?”
Lowering your gaze, you clutched the blanket to your chest. “Can you stay?” Your voice was a whisper, you had to hold back the tears. “I don’t have nightmares when you are here.”
Blinking in surprise, part of him should have expected this. What you went through, he’d be surprised that if you didn’t suffer nightmares. He knew he could laugh it off, shrug and just ignore you then leave. He’d do it with anyone else but you, you were different.
A sigh escaped him as he sat next to you on the bed as he placed his wing on your head. “Ya, I’ll stay…just get some rest alright. You look like you’re about to pass out.”
Giving him a tired but grateful smile, you press your lips against his beak in a small kiss. Settling into your bed you yawned easily falling asleep.
Watching you, Revali pulled the blanket over your body as you sleep. “You don’t face those nightmares again. Not while I am around.”

Hateno Boy - Part 2 - Link x Reader
The Calamity is gone, but so is Link’s purpose. He feels completely lost in post-Calamity Hyrule where everyone but him seem to have found their new place.
It certainly doesn’t help his restless nights that you, a young Hylian whom Zelda has hired as the new teacher at Hateno School, are slowly taking up more and more of his headspace with each conversation you two have.
Fandom: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild / Tears of the Kingdom Pairing: Link x fem!Reader Raiting: Mature (might go up, might go down, let’s see) Contains: feel-good, slow burn romance; platonic Link/Zelda; Link being an angsty retired hero Chapter Index | Read on Ao3
Tumblr media
Chapter 2 - Heromania
Contains: Link is awkward; Everyone is crazy about the Hero, maybe even you Word count: ~2,9k A/N: Yaas, second chapter, let's goooo
The cool night air sneaks in through the open window, barely keeping you awake. Twilight has come and gone, and you can already hear the first calls of the night owls. Your day at the school is stretching unpleasantly late into the evening once again. You’ve been so focused on creating the new curriculum with the Princess – or Zelda, as she has asked you to call her – that you have completely forgotten all your obligations as a teacher.
Now you’re stuck with a cup of tea that went cold hours ago and a stack of short stories written in poor grammar that you promised to read before the end of the week – a promise that seemed perfectly reasonable four days ago. But tonight? Not so much.
You’ve spent a lot of time with Zelda and her knight these past weeks. Zelda is eager to finish the curriculum before fall comes. You still have several moon cycles to go – summer has barely reached Hateno –, but Zelda isn’t one to waste time. She is dedicated to offering the children the best education they can get. You’re in awe of her devotion to the cause – and a little ashamed by your own lack thereof. You are the teacher, after all. You should be twice as passionate as Zelda is, should you not?
You blame your lack of enthusiasm on these late nights: the cold cups of tea and the ever-growing list of tasks and responsibilities that never seem to get any shorter, no matter how many hours of sleep you sacrifice.
You sigh as you pick up the next story from the stack.
THE HERO AND A MONSTER IN A SVAMP
You snort. The ‘Hero of Hyrule’ craze among your students (or ‘heromania’, as you like to call it) is at its peak. You thought you were being clever when assigning them to write a short story about the Hero, hoping it would excite them to complete an otherwise dull assignment. But you were a bit too clever for your own good in the end: your students got so excited to share stories that all of them returned more than one paper. And who were you to kill their excitement just because you had forgotten to do your part in reading them all in time?
You groan, rubbing your face harshly. You can feel the first throbs of a headache knocking behind your other eye. As amusing as some of the stories are (even Zelda thought so after reading one about Link turning into a giant), you’re slowly starting to despise your work, and your students – and the Hero, for that matter.
Another breath of cool air brushes against your neck. You bury your head in your hands. You don’t actually despise your work, not really. It’s just these late nights that you hate.
You hear the door creaking. Shit, you think in a panic and hurriedly tidy up all your scattered papers and pens. You should have expected Zelda to pay you a visit tonight, just like she has every other night so far. As tired as you feel, you don’t need Zelda to see that. Worst case scenario, she might even think you are slacking.
But when you look up, it’s not the Princess standing at the doors, but her Silent Knight.
“Oh, good evening, Link,” you sigh in relief. You glance at the stack of short stories and, as subtle as you can be, flip the first paper upside down before saying, “Please, come in.”
Link, however, does not. He stands awkwardly in the doorway, his expression turning to a frown as he looks around, as if the last person he expected to find inside the school was you, the teacher.
“The Princess isn’t here,” you say after it becomes clear you are not getting a hello from him.
Link looks like a lost puppy, an apt comparison in your mind: he does follow the Princess around like one. The silence between the two of you feels awkward. Even though you have seemingly spent multiple evenings with him, you two have barely even spoken. Everything you know about him, you have heard from either Zelda or the gossipmongers of Hateno.
Or from your students. Most of it from your students.
“I’m sure she will arrive shortly,” you add, giving him an affirming smile. After hearing this, Link finally steps over the threshold and lets the door creak shut behind him.
“I’m sorry,” he says, still looking around, “I thought she would already be here.”
“There’s no need to apologize,” you say, still smiling, hoping to ease the awkward tension still lingering in the air. You continue, “Please, Link, have a seat while you wait. Would you like some tea?”
Link shakes his head and sits down on one of your students’ chairs. It is way too small for him and whines horribly under his weight. The sight of him is amusing, and you struggle to hold back the smile tucking at the corners of your lips. It becomes extremely clear, extremely fast, that Link is trying to look anywhere but into your eyes. You consider asking about his day but decide against it; he’s not the most talkative person in Hyrule, as you’ve come to learn.
“Please, let me know if you need anything,” you politely say before going back to your work. You have barely finished reading the first sentence of The Hero And A Monster In A Svamp when Link suddenly speaks.
“I’m bothering you,” he says.
You glance up from your paper. He is looking down at his hands, a distant look on his face.
“No, not at all,” you lie, “but I do have to ask you to leave after I’m done with these papers.”
“Oh,” Link says, already getting up.
“No, not now,” you quickly say, “but later. You won’t be able to leave once I lock the doors.”
“Oh,” Link says, again, and slowly sits back down. “Right. Okay. Sorry.” He is glancing at the doors with a look of uncertainty.
“And I do prefer the company,” you assure softly. You give him a smile and – for the first time – he returns it. It’s quick but awfully sweet, and you feel your stomach turning.
He looks down at his hands again. “I could make tea,” he says almost absentmindedly and stands up, still avoiding eye contact. “Would you like some?”
Not waiting for your answer, he rushes upstairs to the kitchenette. It’s going to be a long night, you think to yourself and shift your eyes back to your student’s story.
Ones upon a time there was the Hero of Hyrule. One day he saw a monster in a svamp. He takes his Master sword and he kills the svamp monster and he is So fast because he is stronger then the svamp monster. Everyone is happy. Princess Zelda is happy and we had a big party for The Hero. Mom is there and also my brohter and all my friends are there asswell but dad is crying because svamp monster is really my Nana and everyone is sad. The end.
You rub your eyes. A long, long night…
Tumblr media
Your second cup of tea has also gone cold by the time you are done reading the stories.
“Thank Hylia,” you mutter as you push the papers inside your bag. The stories are all sweet – though you question the validity of most of them – but no matter how adorable, you’re glad you don’t have to read one more story about the Hero tonight.
You hastily gather your things and blow out your oil lamp before heading to the doors. You nearly scream when Link steps out of the shadowy corner he was sitting in. He has been so quiet for the past hour that you completely forgot he was even there.
“I’m so sorry,” you mutter, your face flushing with embarrassment. He doesn’t say anything, and his eyes are as quiet as his lips. Instead, he opens the door for you. He gives your back a light, assuring push as you walk past him, something you’ve seen him do to Zelda many times before. His gesture seems automatic, you don’t think he even realizes he does it, but your cheeks blush anyway.
“Are you done with your work?” he asks, even though the answer is obvious as you lock the doors.
“Yes,” you still answer. “Hopefully the Princess doesn’t come here looking for us.”
“No. It’s late,” Link simply says. There’s a tone in his voice you can’t quite put your finger on. Is it disappointment? Or bitterness? You don’t know him well enough to say for certain.
“You’re not going to go look for her?” you ask.
Link shakes his head. “I will walk you home,” he says instead, giving your back another gentle push as you start making your way towards the village.
The silence between you two doesn’t feel as awkward outside, where the rustling of leaves and the singsong of night birds fill in the quiet. The night air is brisk, easing the throbbing pain behind your eye. You sigh. You are happy Link offered to walk you home – though, he would’ve walked past East Wind either way. He has an aura of safety around him, something you much appreciate at this hour, even though you know Hateno to be safe even during the night.
To your surprise, Link breaks the silence first, “I’ve been meaning to ask you something.”
You get a little startled when you turn to look at him and find him staring right back at you. You don’t think he has ever made eye contact with you in such a straightforward manner. You know you’re blushing. It’s almost like he is searching for something within your gaze.
And all you can think about is just how blue his eyes are.
“Have we really met before?” Link asks.
You can’t help the hint of pity seeping into your smile. It’s clear that the question has been bothering him for quite some time.
“Yes,” you answer, “yes, we have.”
He looks away, his brow furrowing as if he’s trying to force the memory.
“Our family farm is right outside Hateno,” you try to help him out. “You knocked on our door late at night. It was during a thunderstorm, a bad one. I don’t think we’ve had a storm like that since.”
The pace of Link’s footsteps slows down. His eyes are looking straight forward, but he doesn't seem to be actually looking at anything. You can see he is trying his hardest to remember. It pains you a little to see him struggle.
“It’s not that important, Link,” you comfort him. “It was a long time ago.”
“No,” he almost cuts you off, “I remember the storm. And I remember the farmhouse. The man of the house made me creamy mushroom soup.”
“That would be my father,” you smile, “and my mother offered to stitch your tunic, but you refused. And you refused a warm bath, to her horror.”
Link doesn’t laugh with you. He’s looking at you again, eyes observing you closely. You’re blushing hard. You don’t think even you, yourself, have ever looked at your own face as intensely as he is now. You can see frustration building up behind his eyes.
Finally, he shakes his head. “I’m sorry,” he apologizes and looks the other way. “I’m not trying to be rude on purpose.”
“It’s okay, Link,” you say, lightly touching his arm. “You had a lot going on at the time.”
You remember the night well. The first time you met the Hero of Hyrule was only a few months before the Calamity ended. He knocked on your family home’s door in the middle of the night, soaked from the heavy rain, bruised, and shivering. Your mother offered him a bed in the guest room because she recognized his blue tunic (there were rumors of a Champion awakened from a 100-year slumber), and your father made him food because he felt sorry for the boy.
You, too, felt sorry as you watched him eat his soup and then refuse the dry clothes your father offered him. He looked exhausted and on the verge of tears. He’s just a boy, you thought, your heart aching as you watched him rub his eyes dry while he may have thought no one was looking.
You’re not mad at Link for not remembering, nor do you feel disappointed. You never spoke with him. You never once thought he even noticed you sitting there by the fire, observing him quietly.
He was just a boy, you think, struggling to meet his gaze. You were the same age as him back then, and you believed – still do – eighteen was too young to bear the fate of the entire kingdom on his shoulders.
Tumblr media
Hateno sleeps quietly. There are no lights, not even a flicker of a single candle behind the darkened windows. There is no chatter, no laughter, no horse hooves, no buzzing insects. Even the wind seems to be on its tiptoes as it blows through the town, as if to avoid disturbing the sleeping people. The sand beneath your boots sounds awfully loud in the silent night.
“May I ask you something in return?” you quietly speak. There’s been a long stretch of silence between the two of you since your earlier conversation. You can see something is still troubling Link, and you don’t want him to go home feeling saddened by memories you didn’t mean to bring up to the surface.
Link doesn’t say anything but he turns to look at you.
“The question is a bit… silly,” you hesitate. He waits patiently for you to continue.
“Uhm,” you mutter, already feeling stupid even thinking of asking what you’re about to ask. “Did you ever, by chance, fight a swamp monster during your travels? A monster that perhaps turned out to be someone’s grandmother?”
Link blinks. “... I’m sorry?”
“Forget about it,” you say with an uncomfortable laugh, motioning for him to stop staring at you. “The children have a wild imagination sometimes.”
Link thinks for a moment before sternly saying, “I have never killed a grandmother.” But the frown on his face makes it seem that he, himself, is not quite so sure of his own statement.
“It’s just something silly one of my students said,” you explain, “I asked them to write down stories they’ve heard about you.”
“Oh,” he says.
“They adore you,” you feel the need to explain further. “It was just for practice. I think most of them just made things up for the assignment. I doubt you ever turned into a giant during your adventures, or did you?”
Link shakes his head, a small smile tugging at his lips. “No, I never did,” he says.
“I don’t understand how they can even come up with stories like that,” you laugh. “Poor Teebo swears he saw you riding a bear once!”
“Oh…”
“And one of the girls says their aunt in Lurelin saw you sailing naked all the way from Eventide.”
“... Oh.”
“Can you believe the imagination of these children?” you chuckle, shaking your head.
Link rubs his neck. “Yeah, wild imagination…” he hesitantly agrees, forcing the most unconvincing laugh you’ve ever heard.
“Oh no, I’m so sorry,” you quickly apologize, “I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable. It was just a silly assignment.”
“No, I don’t mind. I– uh, I did sail to Eventide and back once,” Link admits, a faint blush coloring his cheeks.
You give him a sympathetic smile. “Stories change as they get passed on.”
“Yeah…” Link mutters, rubbing his neck again.
You come to a stop as you reach the East Wind. The store’s windows are pitch-black, just like the rest of the village. You hope you won’t disturb Pruce and his family when you sneak in. He has been generous for letting you stay up in their attic basically for free. Sure, your father knows the shopkeeper well, but you still think not many people from Hateno would offer such kindness to other people’s children. It’s not the most comfortable living arrangement for a woman in her twenties, but it is better than living with your parents. Besides, Zelda has promised you a room on the school’s second floor once it gets cleared out from all the junk left behind during building.
“Thank you for walking me back,” you say as you turn to look at Link, “I hope it wasn’t too much trouble.”
“It wasn’t,” Link assures you with a smile so soft it makes your heart flutter. You’re starting to understand why the girls in town act so giddy around him. He does have an endearing smile.
“I’ll see you around,” Link says, still smiling. “Have a good night.”
“You too, Link,” you say, feeling a bit flustered. You don’t quite understand your sudden giddiness, and you wish you could just slap some sense into yourself. You pry your eyes off of him before the butterflies in your stomach get any more restless. You take in a sharp breath when you suddenly feel his hand on your back again, pushing you gently towards the door right before he leaves. You are still certain he has no idea he’s doing it.
The night air feels almost too cold against your warm cheeks. You fumble with your keys for an embarrassingly long time before you get the door open. You can’t understand why suddenly your mind is completely overtaken by the thought of the Princess’ knight giving you such attention. You’ve never felt this starstruck around the Princess, and she, at least, is going to be crowned as the Queen of Hyrule one day.
You curse. There’s no other explanation: it has to be your students’ ‘heromania’ trying to overtake you.
