Welcome to The Villain’s World [Part Two]

Twisted Wonderland X Fem!Yuu

A/n:

Once again, this was written over my breaks. Good news though, starting next week I’m going back to doing 10-hour shifts instead of 12-hour shifts! So, hopefully after I catch up on sleep, uploads will come quicker. I already have outlines for every chapter aside from 6, and 7.

I know there’s not much focus on Yuu’s mental health/state right now, but that’s because she has Ace, Deuce, and Grim who went through the same thing, and was with her the whole time. Don’t be mistaken, even though I suck at conveying it, Yuu is shaken by this experience.

Content Warnings: Descriptions of violence and injuries, thoughts/mentions of death, panic, Ace redemption arc, bad writing, let me know if I missed anything!

Yuu and Grim stand in place for the plan, and Yuu fidgets, waiting to give the go ahead. They’re currently stationed about 10 feet into the cave, still in sight of Ace and Deuce (Who are hiding behind trees in the forest).

Negative thoughts start to swirl around her head like an unwanted background noise. Like the hum of an old LED bulb. Inescapable. Being so caught up in her thoughts, she nearly missed the monster’s movement from the corner of her eye. She jumps, and waves to Grim. He hesitantly takes the lead, jumping up and down.

“H-hey, monster! I'm uh... I-I'm over here!” He stammers out, before they both bolt for the cave entrance. The monster sets his attention on them, and roars out, “Grrraaawrrr! BEGOOOOONE!”

Grim dashes to the right, while Yuu skids to the left. At this point, the plan has to work.

“He's comin' our way! Yuu!” Grim yells out.

Yuu jumps up, waving her arms in the air. “Hey, over here!” She shouts. The monster turns, “Grrurgh? Thieeef thiiis waaay tooooo... Neeevvva giiive stooones! Neeevvvaaa!” Then it punches the wall of the cave. There’s a rumble, and some now loosened stones tumble to the floor.

“Eep! If it lands one of those punches, we're toast!” Grim squeals. Yuu freezes for a moment.

He’s right, but it’s too late to back out now

She shakes her head. “Then we don’t get caught! Let's lure him as far from the cave as we can.” She turns, and sprints towards the forest. She can see Grim scampering next to her, a good distance away. Behind her, she can hear the monster bellow out, “Begooone! BEGOOOOOOONE!”

She can only hope that the other two stay true to their part of the plan. Though, that twinge of doubt is stomped out once she made it to the marks she made on the dirt floor and skids to a stop. She yells out, “Now’s our chance!”

Ace jumps out from behind a tree and Grim spins to face the monster.

“You bet. I got this! One extra-large gust of wind, comin' up!” Ace grins, pointing his pen at it, and sending a large gust of wind towards the monster.

“With a side of Grim's blazin'-hot fire! MYAAAH!” Grim laughs, sending out waves of flames towards it.

The monster lets out a wail, thrashing about in the blaze.

“How's that taste?! With my winds fanning them, even Grim's feeble flames can become an inferno!” Ace says, letting out a laugh.

“Whaddaya mean "feeble"?! Ya really don't know how to shut yer mouth, do ya?” Grim asks, salty.

“The monster's afraid of our flaming tornado! Deuce, it’s time!” Yuu points out, as Deuce also runs out from behind a tree, pen in hand.

He takes a deep breath, “Just stay calm, aim carefully... and pull out the biggest, heaviest thing I can think of... Get 'em, cauldron!” With their plan in motion, and working from what Yuu can see, Yuu opts to ignore that.

The monster lets out another wail, and Grim jumps around excitedly. “Nailed it! The plan's workin'! Look, Yuu! That monster got smashed flat by a falling cauldron, just like Ace did!” Yuu laughs and scoops Grim up into a hug.

Ace scoffs and rolls his eyes. “Coulda done without the reminder, thanks! This has been one drag after another.”

Deuce, being the only focused one, starts running ahead, shouting back at the others, “Quick! While it's distracted, we need to get that magestone!”

Hearing that, the monster lets out yells of disapproval.

Getting the lead out, Ace and Yuu (who is still holding a slightly struggling Grim) run after Deuce. They make it to where they saw the stone, and while huffing and trying to catch her breath, Yuu sets Grim down, reaches forward and starts wiggling the stone out of the wall.

“Uh-oh! Looks like it's nearly wriggled free!” Ace points out in reference to the monster. Yuu digs her fingers in, not caring about the rocks jabbing into her skin, even when they start to break skin, causing blood to bead up at the tips of her fingers. She lets out a huff of air, ignoring the words of the others as she works at the stone. Even as it cuts her more, and splits one of her nails.

Come hell or high water.

Finally, she pulls it out with a small grunt. Grim, who stayed near her legs jumps, and shouts, “We got the magestone! Now let's get outta here!”

Ace nods, and leads the group towards the entrance, “Roger that!” Yuu picks shoves the stone in her pocket, then picks Grim up again, and runs alongside Ace. Deuce trails behind them as the monster screeches out again.

They make it into the forest, and Ace yelps as he looks behind the group, “Are you kiddin' me?! It's still coming! It pushed off all that weight!” Yuu checks behind them, heart almost stopping at how close the monster is getting.

“It's too fast! It's about to catch us!” Deuce huffs out. Yuu lets out a groan, and contemplates for a moment. “We've weakened it!” She starts, and slows down, “If we strike now…” She trails off. They seem to pick up what she’s putting down, and also slow down.

“Aw, fine! Let's just smash the thing. Try not to wet yourself, Deucey!” Ace teases. Deuce grins in response, “Same to you, Ace!”

Grim jumps out of Yuu’s arms, “I'm gonna show ya why they call me Grim the Great!” Yuu chuckles breathlessly, and as the others ready their pens she, once again, arms herself with rocks. Her hands, covered in dirt and a little bit of blood, are shaking, she notes. She stares at them for a moment, before the monster lets out a deafening roar that makes them all jump, and glance at each other.

Yuu, taking the initiative, chucks a rock at it. Taking that as a sign, the others start throwing their own spells towards it.

It seems overwhelmed with all of them attacking it, and just trashes about, swinging its pickaxe every which way. After some near misses, it winds up for another swing. Yuu supposes the others are too caught up in casting their spells, but she notices Ace is directly in its swinging path. Her heart drops, and before she can even logic out what she’s doing (and how stupid it is,) she’s dashing towards him, and tackling him.

They land with a thud and a grunt.

Yuu wants to shout, to scream, anything, but the breath is forced out of her lungs. There’s a burning sensation in her leg, and it makes her eyes water. She feels Ace gently roll her off him, and she takes a deep breath, signaling for him to join the fight again.

She must be delirious, because for a moment, Ace looked hesitant, and…worried…?

There’s blood dripping from a gash on her leg, and Yuu uses one of the rocks to help her tear some of the fabric from the sleeve of her shirt to tie around it.

After a couple of attempts, she finally manages to stand up on her own, and join the fight again. This time, she opts to stay in the back, throwing rocks and sticks from behind the group, targeting its head.

After what feels like ages, the crack in its head expands, and eventually its head shatters all together, sending the viscous ink it contained splattering everywhere.

The group recoils in shock, but they don’t avoid getting some on them. There’s a collective feeling of disgust as they all stare in shock, and horror.

Deuce pants, trying to catch his breath as he stares forward in shock.

“Is it... over?” Ace asks, unsure, and Yuu is sure she’s hallucinating again because he glances at her with worry written on his face.

“I think... we won? I think we did it!” Grim shouts, doing a funky little jig. There are cheers of victory, but Yuu just slumps into herself, eyes wide.

“We did it…..?” She pauses, and shakes her head. “Shared adversity sure brings people together, huh…?” She asks, almost mindlessly. Deuce chuckles nervously, “Uh... I don't think that had anything to do with it.”

“Yeah! Spare us the clichés, Yuu!” Ace says with a grin and a scoff, though it’s hard to take his words seriously since he throws his arms around Deuce’s and Yuu’s shoulders. She grins slightly, and notes that her hands are still shaking. Before she can try to calm herself down, Grim speaks up.

“There's no "together" here! We won 'cause of me! This is all from me bein' a magical genius!” Yuu nods, holding her arms out for her now adopted son feline companion to jump into. Once he does she scratches behind his ear. It works to calm her nerves, and he seems content with it.

Before she can, most likely, inflate Grim’s ego, Ace speaks up again, “Y'know... I hate to admit it, but... We mostly won because of your plan.” Though he tries to look apprehensive, his tone comes off apologetic.

Deuce nods enthusiastically, and if it were any other situation (a situation where he wasn’t covered in dirt, debris, and ink.) it would’ve been cute. “Yeah... if you hadn't managed to keep your cool and tell us all what to do, we never would have got this magestone. Now I won't get expelled.

And wow, is THAT a relief!”

Yuu nods absentmindedly. “I'm just glad no one got hurt…” Ace looks at her incredulously. “No one got hurt??” He points to her leg, red had started to bleed through the torn cloth she wrapped around it. He removes his arm from Deuce, and makes her wrap an arm around his shoulders, while the arm that’s on her shoulder shifted down to support her back. “That’s a pretty nasty gash,” he states.

“I mean,” Yuu starts, wincing, “That thing could’ve done a lot worse,” She mumbles, and the atmosphere turns somber. The group looks at each other apprehensively for a moment, before Grim changes the subject.

“Usin' all that magic made me hungry!” His eyes search the terrain, for what, Yuu didn’t know, but he perks up and jumps out of Yuu’s arms. “Huh? What's this?” He asks while picking up a black gem that reminds Yuu of a hunk of onyx.

“Is that a part of the monster we just beat?

It looks like... a magestone? But it's black as coal! I've never seen one like that before.” Deuce muses.

Grim, however, ignores him, and sniffs the air around the gem. “What IS this? It smells amazing!”

‘You can’t be serious.’

Ace stares in shock. “Are you insane?” He asks.

Grim, again, ignores him, and continues on his tangent. “Must be some kinda fancy monster candy that it was hidin' from us! If this tastes half as good as it smells...” He trails off, before shoveling the gem into his maw.

‘You CAN’T be serious’

Yuu’s eyes widen and she hobbles forward (forcing Ace to do the same), and picks Grim up. “Did you seriously just eat that?! Spit it out! Out! Bad cat!” She scolds, “Why would you just eat something you found on the forest floor!?”

Grim lets out a very dignified screech, and swallows it. Yuu freezes in shock, then deadpans.

“Are you okay!?” Deuce asks in a panic, while Ace stands there smugly. “That's what you get for eating trash!” Yuu looks at Grim, concern swirling her eyes once he starts letting out what sounds to be groans of pain.

That dies down once again when he speaks. “That... was AMAZING! Rich in flavor and full-bodied... Like sweet, fragrant flowers burstin' into bloom on my tongue. A whole field of 'em! Right in my mouth!” He smiles brightly, and that alone is almost enough to melt Yuu’s heart, but she stands strong.(with the help of Ace-)

“Gross. Monsters must have real weird tastes.” Ace theorizes, and Deuce nods, bringing a hand to his mouth in thought. “You might be onto something there...

Most humans don't take random stuff they find on the ground and just pop it into their mouths.”

“Are you sure you're okay?” Yuu asks, eyeing Grim. He beams, and proclaims, “Myah ha ha ha! Man, was that great!

Don't worry about me. I don't got a weak stomach like you humans do.”

That makes zero sense. But, okay.

Ace opens his mouth, probably to make a shitty comment, but gets interrupted by Deuce changing the topic. “Okay, let's pull ourselves together. We need to get this magestone to the headmage!” He starts for the path back to the school, but it’s clear he’s walking slower, glancing behind him to make sure Yuu and Ace, who is still helping Yuu walk, are keeping up.

Ace takes the opportunity to address the awkward silence that befell them. “Hey…so, about before,” He starts, scanning her face for any signs of anger, or annoyance. When he doesn’t find any, he pushes on. “I was kinda being a dick…” He starts, “But you helped me out anyway, so… thanks… and,” He trails off, waiting for some kind of reaction.

After not getting one for a moment, he goes to speak again, but falls short when she turns to face him with a scarily blank look on her face. His words fall short, and he waits. “That’s kinda an understatement,” She points out.

He sputters for a response, and after a moment he regains the ability to speak. “Hey, I’m trying to be nice and apologize here!” He shouts, not truly angry. Yuu resists the urge to laugh, but instead gives him a grin. He looks shocked for a split second.

“Nice? Sounds like you’re being cringe, Ace,” She says, unable to fight her giggles at the look on his face. Ace deadpans, then shakes his head with a suppressed grin. “It’s like you didn’t even hear me at all,” He mumbles. His mouth drops open in shock when he sees her shrug.

“Do you wanna walk on your own!?”

TWST Story Idea (6)

Inspired by a post from a long time ago, but I don't remember their name.

Twisted Wonderland with Yuu, who is not scared of meeting beastmen, ghosts, or fairies, not because they're brave but because they've already seen horrors that Twisted Wonderland never saw before.

Yuu was at first amazed and wary of the existence of magic and those who are not human. They were rather dismayed at living in a ramshackle dorm and were reluctant to accept Grim, though Yuu eventually accepted that it was better than being alone.

However, days of staying with Yuu made Grim learn something about Yuu, and that Yuu had rules. It's not just normal rules like "don't make noise after 10" or something, nor were they stupid rules like Heartslabyul.

No, it's so much different than that.

'Don't step outside after dark', 'don't go to the woods alone and make noise', 'don't answer anything until you feel certain it's a person', 'don't jinx', and so on.

Well, it is stupid like Heartslabyul, but the way Yuu looked at Grim just makes it sound ominous, and it doesn't help that Yuu followed these rules to a T.

One day, not long after Grim settled in that house, he almost broke a rule.

It started late at night where he heard knockings on the door. Grim woke up, blearily and upset for ruining his good sleep. He thought that a certain three ghosts was playing tricks on him.

They were always trying to prank him, and this was the last straw. He shouted at the ghost to stop, and the knockings ceased.

It was quiet indeed, just like Grim wanted, but Grim couldn't get rid of the horrible feeling creeping up on him.

The knocks continued, this time followed by a voice.

"Can I come in?"

Grim jolted awake, fur bristling. It sounded like Yuu, but it couldn't be Yuu. It sounded so weird and scratchy, like it's his first time talking, and Yuu is right here in this room with him, so who is behind that door?

"Grim, can you let me in?"

It knows his name.

The door knob budged repeatedly, growing aggressive as time goes by. Yuu had locked every door and window that leads inside dutifully, and this room is no exception, but Grim feared that it's going to break from how loud it's turning.

Grim tried to wake Yuu up, but Yuu didn't show any slightest hint of stirring awake, too deep asleep. Grim hit Yuu again and again to no avail.

Grim is alone, and the monster won't leave him alone.

The door creaked, and something peeked through the cracks. Grim cried to leave him alone, and the monster merely responded by getting closer, inch by inch, red eyes locked on Grim's shivering body.

And then, Grim woke up. Sweats covered his paws, and Yuu hovered above him with concern. Grim sniffled, the bed sheet, and some part of his fur wet with tears. He was glad to know it's only a nightmare until Yuu said,

"Which rule did you break?"

It was on that same day that Grim followed the rules with devotion, fearing the same thing to happen. These rules don't limit to Grim and Yuu only but to the guests as well.

Ace was first; he knocked on the door of the ramshackle dorm somewhere late at night, wanting to sleep here instead.

He knocked and knocked, but no one answered. He decided to loudly yell for them instead. This proved to be the right choice since he could hear woods creaking and shuffling from the inside.

The door opened in a matter of seconds, and Ace would greet casually like he just didn't come here late at night with a collar but stopped at the panicked look on Yuu and Grim's faces.

"Stop screaming!" Yuu hissed.

He didn't have to say anything since Yuu grabbed him by the tie and dragged him in. He found himself in their bedroom, awkwardly standing as Yuu explained the rules they have on the house.

Ace huffed wearily, saying how he got tired of the rules courtesy of Riddle, but Grim's reaction was very out of character, to say the least.

Ace would ask why, and they said to wait till morning. In the end, they all went on the same bed. Ace doesn't even bring up about sleeping in their bed; it was Yuu who wanted him to, so who was he to deny opportunity?

Ace tried to sleep, but the collar is just so cold and it's digging on his neck. He tossed and turned, and his eyes laid on a curtained window.

Weird, he thought. Almost everyone he met slept with opened windows and parted curtains to let moonlight and the coldness of the night in. The curtain in this room was closed tightly, and sleeping on the bed with another two is already hot enough since the fan is slow.

Ace made up his mind to open both the curtain and the window. However, tonight moonlight is bright enough that there's a distinct shadow behind the curtains in the shape of a person.

'But this is on the second floor,' Ace will gradually realize. He will reason that it's someone using the broom to fly, but the shadow is completely still.

At this point, Ace remembered some of the rules that barely got into his brain.

'Do not look outside at night.'

'Do not acknowledge or respond to it.'

'Do not make noise.'

'Pretend you didn't see it.'

Ace quietly got into the bed, closed his eyes, and went under the sheet as he tried to make sense of what he saw. He had to wait until tomorrow; there's only a few hours before morning, but his will is tested with the scratches on the windows.

Ace couldn't tell when he got to sleep, but he woke up with a gasp as sunlight shone in his face, and Yuu staring at him.

"You'll get used to it."

Deuce was the next victim. Despite what happened that night, Ace is still willing to sleep in the ramshackle dorm or maybe he doesn't have a choice because something is following him and yuu knows how to deal with it. Deuce, however, didn't know any better until Yuu explained the rules.

Deuce, being dumb, will then say, "Huh? You mean ghosts? We see them all the time, don't we?"

A look of horror crossed their expression, and then there's laughter in the hallways that most definitely don't belong to them.

Deuce's instinct was to fight in the adrenaline moment. Just as he stood up, he immediately fell down and got dragged out of the living room down the hallways right before their eyes.

The lights flickered, showing them a horrifying shadowy figure holding Deuce by the ankle. Deuce screamed as he was dragged into one of the rooms, and the door slammed shut.

Deuce yelled as he banged on the door repeatedly. The others tried to open it to no avail until Deuce kicked it off its hinges, face pale and full of sweats while his eyes kept darting back to the empty room.

Deuce wished to go back, but Yuu didn't allow him to do so.

"If you leave, it will follow you. Stay here; I'll protect you."

They weren't the last. Those who became friends of Yuu were now well aware of these rules but not before experiencing the horrors.

Trey is concerned about the rules, but he always obeys them anyway, so there shouldn't be any problem until he borrows the kitchen and witnesses dishes pushed off the table and breaks them. He also hears an indescribable noise that's a mix between moaning and growling from one of the rooms in the ramshackle dorm when Trey is passing by, as though something is trying to attract his attention.

There was also a rule that said to avoid using a camera in the dorm. Cater didn't like that much, seeing that a haunted ramshackle dorm sounded like a good way to attract more likes on Magicam. Cater didn't give any thought when he tried to take a picture of himself when suddenly, the square thingy used to identify a face is multiplied and scattered all over the screen.

Riddle once came unannounced, and the entrance door opened, so Riddle invited himself, though he found it suspicious that no one is inside. He thought it was Ace and Deuce who tried to prank him and shouted to stop it at once. There was silence until Ace's voice said, "You got us, Riddle."

Riddle instinctively tried to reply, "It's Housewarden Riddle for you," before shutting his mouth when he realized that the voice sounded weird, and Ace still hadn't popped out yet.

"I'm right here," Deuce said this time, slightly echoey and out of tune.

He tried to come closer, trying to discern where the voice was coming from, only to be pulled back.

"I was looking for you." Yuu's voice was calm, but there's a sense of urgency on his face, which Riddle finds out later when he meets with Ace and Deuce.

Similar things happened to the rest, with Vil seeing his reflection move, Epel hearing something following right behind him, and Rook feeling watched but unable to find who.

Kalim saw his doppelganger and attempted to follow him into the woods alone, or that time he was talking to someone, but there isn't someone there at all. Jamil had bruises in the shape of hands and whispers in his ears as he lay in bed.

Idia saw his dead brother, and he almost jumped to his death. Ortho, who is in full battery, would just drain in a matter of seconds. Any attempt to scan would be glitched and met with errors.

As for a certain merfolk and beastman, they are suddenly sensitive to the ramshackle dorm and attempt to avoid it. Jack, however, despite his reluctance to sleep in the ramshackle dorm, proved to be a great asset. Since he's a wolf beastman, closer to dogs, naturally, ghost attacks lowered down to almost nothing. This means beastmen are rarely bothered, mostly just being watched.

For certain Diasomnia members, these types of ghosts are rare and dangerous and cannot be destroyed. They didn't even knoe they exist amyway and magic cannot destroy spirits, no matter how strong they are. Though, just like Jack, ghost attacks will drop down with Lilia and Malleus around, though not to zero. They both will get harassed as well as the other two.

Yuu has a third eye, so they see things. Yuu's spiritual power is so great it affected the ramshackle dorm, waking up/attracting ghosts. Those who get closer to Yuu will inevitably have Yuu's power lingered on them so they can see as well.

So basically, they got 'cursed' unintentionally by getting close to Yuu. Those who can't see ghosts won't get bothered with serious stuff; they only get to deal with ransacked rooms or broken dishes.

water 7 geopolitics.

water 7 is an independent citystate of the world government despite having a working contract with the world government they don't have to enforce their law because they're not under the world government

it's complicated, the laws are independent and the world government doesn't enforce their law 99% of the time because of the fact galley la could just stop making boats for them and that would be extremely bad

galley la is able to use the boat relationship as leverage politically to the detriment of the world government (this is why they got away with enies lobby no consequences style) as long as they keep making boats for them/in aid of the civil war on pirates.

water 7's political strategy protects their own independence while playing both sides in regards to the civil war on pirates, which you could argue is actively harming other nations independence of the world government (like wano)

My other oc group did not get too much attention, but that okay, my ocs are made for me, anyways it’s gotten me in the mood to talk about my other incredibly self indulgent ocs, this time my group of superheroes

Now, the set up is v specifically the future (and a ton of it a homage or whatever to DC characters and stuff because this is my self indulgent stuff), like decades after the first superhero group was formed and now their group is composed of mainly the grandchildren from that first group

Which “grandchildren” doesn’t sound like that much time has passed, but with the main group’s powers including some kind of “slow aging” power, which their children inherited, and the grandparents and parents both had their kids way later in life, it’s actually been a significant amount of time since the first group was first formed

That first group is something like a legend to people, not only was it unheard of for superheroes to even exist before them, but they had done a ton of good fighting for the rights of everyone, like mutants and stuff, leaving everyone with this hugely idealized version of what they must have been like as well as leaving behind huge shoes for their grandchildren and other young heroes to fill

The reason why their parents didn’t have those shoes to fill is because the original group was still around when they were fighting, so no one was expecting them to take over, but eventually by the time the grandkids grew into crime fighting age there was only one of the original heroes left (I’ll talk about them in a bit)

There’s actually been a ton of older heroes disappearing, everyone has been chalking it up to either their age or they just “weren’t as good as the originals,” and it’s been happening slowly enough over time that it hasn’t raised any alarm bells, so now for the core group there’s only young heroes that are still technically minors (so like a young Justice League) and that one original hero who is still left behind

I’m not gonna get into every member because that would take. forever. so I’m just gonna talk about a few of them, starting with:

The Main Hero’s son (yeah I still haven’t named some of my favorite and longest lasting ocs, sue me.), essentially the Main Hero is like Superman except if he were a huge fucking dick, not evil, just a dick. He was seen as the leader and founder of the group, and it’s his legacy that everyone tries to live up to (he was actually a bully and all the heroes he worked with hated him, but he did do crime fighting well)

Anyways this is about his son, yeah a majority of the other characters are grandkids, but Main Hero had a way better slow aging power and only had his young son left. So his son is almost a perfect carbon copy of him, same powers, same looks, but even though his son tries to do everything to live up to his dad’s expectations, the truth is, he’s not actually sure he wants to be what his dad wants, which is for his son to become the new leader of the group

Unlike everyone else in the group, this kid was never actually given a choice on whether or not he even wanted to be a hero, much less what kind of hero he wanted to be, most of his struggles are of trying to be a leader to the group when he’s not only bad at it but he hates it, trying to figure out happened to his dad (disappeared recently, his disappearance is what starts to make people think something is up), and who his mom is (hidden parentage, as far as anyone knows, Main Hero didn’t have a wife)

Next is BB (nickname to make it easier to tell everyone apart through text), I call her that because when I think about her, I just straight up think about Bumblebee (she was one of my favorites in the og teen titans cartoon), she is actually a mutant and a granddaughter of one of the first mutants who became a hero (her family actually has normal human life spans so those grandparents became heroes some time after the group first formed), she has formed a lot of her hero identity around the Main Hero, because again everyone looks up to that guy and his legacy, and he was known as being such a great hero

She’s actually a natural leader and a much better choice than the previous kid, most of her struggles come from everyone (civilians, not those in the group) wanting Main Hero’s son to take over, but she doesn’t want to just step aside and let him have the title when not only is he not a good fit, but she wants to show how far mutants have come along that the core hero group has a mutant leader now, she’s also struggling with finding out that the hero she’s spent her entire childhood looking up to was actually a huge fucking douche who built his platform on seeming like he cared about vulnerable people when he actually didn’t

Next is a character sort of based off of M’gann (Miss Martian from Young Justice League) in that she’s an alien with mind reading and flying powers with a sweet and shy personality, but that’s where the similarities end, I picture her more as with blue skin, not those other powers, except slow aging by human’s standards, and instead of having an uncle who was part of the main league, she has a grandpa who was part of the main core group, but he wasn’t one of the original members, he joined later on, and he went missing when she was just an infant

Due to alien reasons, her family has no hope in her accomplishing much as a hero*, and she wants so badly to live up to her grandpa’s heroic name and be someone he would be proud of

(*I know it’s not the same, but explaining the alien stuff of my made up universe would turn this from a long post to a way too long post, so the best way to explain, continuing with the M’gann way of looking at her, it would be like if everyone in the family had been a green Martian and she was born a white Martian (I know that’s not how it works in that universe but bear with me), except hating her for being a “white Martian” is just a personal family thing instead of a cultural planet thing)

What she doesn’t actually know is that her grandpa, before his disappearance, loved her unconditionally and actually favored her over every other family member, he saw her birth as a sign that he did something right, due to alien cultural reasons, he considered her good luck

She’s also exactly like him in personality when he first started off as a hero

The only person who knows this is the last remaining hero of the “golden age” who was best friends with that man, and it kills them inside that his granddaughter is exactly like him, and they just miss their best friend so much

I know I said I was gonna talk about that hero, but (even tho I call the other hero Main Hero) this one actually is like,, the protagonist to me, and I have way too much I wanna talk about them with, so I’m just gonna schedule this post and maybe continue it with more info on that character another day!

Welcome to the Villains' World [Part One]

Twisted Wonderland X Fem!Yuu/Reader

Twisted Wonderland, Prologue

I know this isn't technically an overblot, however they do fight a phantom, and I think that counts. Not to mention that this is how Yuu and the Brain Cell Trio become friends, and I think it's a crime not to include it.

If people like this enough and want it, I’ll rewrite and upload a GN version!

Sorry if this is bad, I wrote most of this from 12AM-3AM on my breaks lmao. Lemme know if there are any errors please! Constructive criticism is welcome!

Content Warnings: Descriptions of violence and injuries, thoughts/mentions of death, panic, Ace being a little bit of a douche, bad writing, let me know if I missed anything!

Things will keep getting worse.

That's the mentality Yuu has to hold. How else could she prepare herself? It's bound to get worse. She’s in a completely unfamiliar world, surrounded by magic users that could kill her quite easily if they wanted to, and with no apparent way to get back to her own world.

‘And worst of all I have to entrust I fate to three idiots,’ Yuu thinks, bitterly.

"You wanna go inside THERE? It's pitch black!" The shrill voice of Yuu's cat(?) companion breaks her out of her train of thought. Though a part of Yuu agrees with him, the other part realizes that she can't take any chances with being expelled or removed from campus. After all, she has no documentation of her existence, no knowledge of where to go to find a way home, and absolutely no knowledge of the surrounding geography or culture. Despite this world being one of magic, she doubted anyone outside of Night Raven College would believe it when she says she’s from a different world. So, she’s not going to accept expulsion just because of a dark and slightly (read: very) eerie cave. She’s not leaving without a magestone.

Come hell or high water, she’s determined to make it home.

"What, are you scared of the dark? Pathetic." Ace, one of the reasons Yuu is in this dark dreary cave rather than her dark dreary dorm, rings out, echoing slightly. Sensing the upcoming nonsense, Yuu sighs and mentally prepares herself to step in.

"Myah?! I'm not scared of anything! I'm taking the lead. You all follow me!" Grim shouts, and as he 'takes the lead', he grips Yuu's leg tightly. The exasperated expression on Yuu's face softens, before she bends down and scoops him into her arms. He struggles for a moment, before slumping in defeat as she takes the lead and wanders into the cave.

Ace and Deuce (the other reason Yuu is facing the threat of 'expulsion'), stunned by the one powerless person in the group charging into the unknown, glance at each other before jogging to catch up to her. The small group makes it a good 20 feet into the cave before the silence is once again broken.

"Huh? Hold up!" Deuce shouts, holding his arms out as a way to stop the group. Ace lets out an annoyed groan. "What now?" He asks, raising an eyebrow. Deuce responds by pointing ahead, "There's something there!" He tries to whisper, but it doesn't seem to make a difference, Yuu notes, as his voice echoes.

"Hee hee hee hee! Visitors! The first in ten years!" A voice croaks out. "Do make yourselves at home... You can stay forever!" A different, more high pitched voice rings out. Yuu catches the way Grim's ears flatten, whether from fright or from the voice that she can only equate to nails on a chalk board, she doesn’t know. The figures come closer, close enough that Yuu could see the figures' transparent bodies move around in the dark. Part of her wonders if these ghosts are as friendly as her new roommates. Deciding against trying to find out, Yuu holds Grim tighter, deciding to just bolt past the ghosts.

"Come on!" She can feel Grim's claws through the fabric of the tattered and oversized shirt (that she luckily found in ‘her dorm’) as he clutches on to her. She can hear the pounding footsteps of the other two behind her for just a moment, before the sound is replaced by the pounding of her own heart.

She just runs, not knowing where she’s going. As long as it was away from the ghosts, she doesn’t care. What she does know is that her leg muscles are tightening up, and her lungs are burning, but she tries to press on.

Yuu only comes to her senses after a hand grips her shoulder and pulls her back. Ace comes into view, huffing and puffing. Getting the message, Yuu slumps against the wall of the cave, and sets Grim down. Despite being free, he decides to stick close to her legs.

All of them look at each other, waiting for someone to speak. Yuu takes another deep breath before breaking the silence.

“Are you guys okay?" She asks, looking over each member of the group. Before anyone could respond, a loud screeching noise echoes throughout the cave.

"If we stop to fight, we'll never get anywhere. Let's just keep moving." Deuce points out. He tugs Ace's arm, and Ace violently rips his arm from Deuce's grip. They both take off again. "Sure, but don't act like we voted you team leader," He scoffs, "The only reason we're here in the first place is because of that stupid stunt you pulled!" Ace shouts while pulling ahead of the group. Yuu takes the opportunity to pick Grim up again, worried he won't be able to keep up, and runs after Ace and Deuce.

She scowls slightly, knowing this arguing isn't helping anything, before taking a deep breath and slowing to a stop. "All of you, calm down. The blame game means nothing at this point," She adjusts her stance, resting Grim on her hip, almost like something akin to a baby. And once again, before she can continue, she is interrupted.

"...iiivvv... ...oooouuu..."

Yuu perks up, trying to hear what's being said and what's saying it. Ace, Deuce, and Grim perk up as well, "Huh?!" The three exclaim, in what Yuu would call almost comedic unison. Had it be almost any other situation, she would've laughed.

"Wh-where's that comin' from?" Ace asks, as he whips his head about to locate the noise, he scoots closer to the group. Deciding to play it safe, Yuu also moves closer, opting to try to watch their backs.

"...neeevvvaaa... ...iiivvv... ...ooouuu..."

"Sounds like... it's getting closer..." Deuce points out, joining in on the impromptu huddle.

"Stooonesss... Stooonesss aaare miiiiine!"

Yuu spots it first, a startled gasp leaving her lips.

Despite being in a world of magic, the...thing... before them seems to be something out of a nightmare. It towers over all three of them, holding no resemblance to a humanoid being. It's head looks to be made of a glass bottle. A crack in it causes the content, some sort of viscous ink if she had to guess, to trickle out. The monster’s body seems to be made of the same ink. It dons what looks to be a tattered red uniform of some kind. In one hand it carries a lantern that emits an ominous red glow, and in the other is a sharp rusted pickaxe.

It lets out a monstrous groan as the others spot it. The group darts to hide around the corner.

"What is that?!" Deuce yells, stumbling backwards.

"Myaaah!" Grim burrows himself into Yuu's side, something he'd probably deny doing later, "No one said there'd be monsters! Let's get outta here!" He tugs on Yuu's shirt, as if he has to convince her to run. The only thing stopping her from actually doing so being Ace's hand grabbing her arm tightly.

Deuce stops backing away when he realizes no one is making a move to leave, and looks to Ace for an explanation. "That thing is super creepy!" Ace agrees, and Yuu thinks that’s the understatement of the year, "But didn't it just say something about 'stones'?!"

As if sensing its time to shine, the monster speaks through a series of groans, "Stooonesss... ...nevvva give stooonesss...!"

"So there ARE still magestones here!" Deuce exclaims, his eyes darting to the cave walls and floors, as if a stone would just be laying around.

Yuu fights the urge to facepalm, and Grim glances towards the monster again, "Myaaah... Even as a master sorcerer, I... I don't think I can take that thing down!"

Deuce clenches his fists, and scowls, "But we need a magestone or we'll get expelled! I'm going in!" He declares, starting to round the corner. Ace's eyes widen, and he moves to grab Deuce's wrist as well, "Are outta you your outta mind?!"

Yuu pauses, realizing that she is, in fact, in the same boat as Deuce. She can't get expelled, and she refuses to let either of the boys get expelled as well. She takes a deep breath before she shrugs Ace's hand off her arm, and steps up to Deuce.

"You can't do it alone!" Yuu says, and Deuce's face lights up with determination. Yuu sets Grim down, and arms herself with some nearby rocks as Deuce pulls out his pen. They round the corner, and face the monster.

It spots them, and growls. It raises its pickaxe, prepared to attack. Deuce starts firing off spells as Yuu begins throwing rocks at it. It swings its pickaxe down, and forces Yuu and Deuce to separate. The blade of the rusty tool grazes Yuu's sleeve and she winces at the close call.

‘I don't think I'm up to date with my tetanus shots,’ she thinks bitterly.

She chucks another rock at it, and it turns to swing at her again. She starts to gauge the nearest safe spot, but before it fully can focus on Yuu, Deuce sends another spell at it. It quickly changes trajectory to hit Deuce, and it bellows out "Begone! Begone! Begooone!" Deuce dives out of the way with a grunt.

Ace watches from around the corner with mild concern as the monster targets Deuce again, despite Yuu chucking rocks at it as hard as she can. "Aw, crap! He's got Loosey-Deucey on the ropes! Not on my watch! Heeyah!"

"Rrroooarrrgh!" The monster groans as Ace hits it with a blast of wind. It thrashes about, hitting both Yuu and Ace with its arm and sending them backwards. They hit the floor and Yuu lets out a cry and she gasps, trying to regain her breath. Her whole body aches and burns. Rocks dig into her flesh, some actually breaking skin.

With the air knocked out of her, Yuu groans as she rolls to get back up. Grim jumps back, yelling, "Myaaah! Stay away from me!" He jumps back while sending a burst of flames towards it. Yuu could feel the heat of the blast, and it brings her back to reality. She rushes over and helps Ace (Who also looks rough.) to his feet. He lets out a grunt, stretching his back.

Grim frowns as the monster shakes off his attacks, "It's like nothin's even hurtin' it!" He yells, skittering behind Ace and Yuu. Deuce slowly makes his way back over to the group. Yuu, however, doesn't mind these things, and is instead focused on something behind the monster.

"Did you just see that sparkle?!" She asks, eyes not leaving what she hopes to be a magestone. Ace immediately follows Yuu's line of sight, and gasps. "Behind the monster! There's something sparkling in the mineshaft!"

Deuce shifts his gaze over just as the monster blocks the sparkle of interest. "Could that have been a magestone?!" Then, almost as if responding only to the mention of a magestone, the monster roars again, speaking between pained grunts and growls, "GWAAAAAAAH! Nooo giiive yooouuu stooooooone!"

Grim jumps up and once again tugs on Yuu's pant leg, "Yuu, we need to book it, and fast! That thing's gonna pound us into tuna paste!" Yuu agrees, looking at the other two while she speaks up to make sure they get the message, "Lets run for it!"

Once the group makes it to the entrance of the mines, they all catch their breaths. A conversation starts up between the others, and Yuu's frustration for them grows with each sentence.

"Oh YEAH?! Fine, go back to your coop, you big chicken!"

“Quit it!” She interrupts Ace before he can respond to Deuce’s taunt. He rolls his eyes, his attention now shifting to her.

“You shouldn’t even get a say in this,” He starts, a glare forming on his face, “ I don’t even know why you’re here! You’re the most useless person of the group! It’s not like you can use magic to fight it!” He snarls.

The weight on her chest starts to feel crushing. She digs her nails into her palms. She can feel the sting of every cut she just acquired, and the ache of her fresh bruises.

It’s overwhelming. Everything is overwhelming. She doesn’t want to be here. She didn’t ask to be here. Why does she have to deal with this? She knows he’s right, but she’s trying. Part of her wonders if that makes it worse.

useless, useless, useless, useless, usELESS-

Deuce’s and Grim’s eyes widen, and she can tell they want to step in. Before they get the chance to, though, she speaks up.

“Are you serious right now…?” Though her voice is shaky, and the feeling of adrenaline is dying down, she glares fiercely at Ace. “You’re right. I don’t have a choice!” She raises her voice, and notices how Deuce and Grim flinch back slightly. “Because if you get kicked out, you have a home to go back to!” She points out harshly. “I have nowhere to go, and nobody to help me! My only option is to return with a magestone!” A lump is forming in her throat as tears pool in her eyes. She wipes at them harshly. “I may be useless, but you aren’t even trying. And that’s worse.”

No words are spoken as she tries to catch her breath. She glares at the floor, and unclenches her fists, uncaring about the broken skin caused by her nails. “So I guess let's all just get expelled, then.” She mutters.

She can see them recoil at that, and again, Ace and Deuce speak in almost comical unison, “What?”

Grim gapes at her, “Whoa, that was harsh. Where'd that come from?” Her glare softens as she looks at Grim, “You said it yourself. We can't hurt that thing.” Grim lets out a noise of defeat, Ace has the decency to look at least a little ashamed and apologetic, and Deuce furrows his brows, “But... But what are we going to do then?!” He asks, thinking deeply.

“What if we came up with a proper plan first?” Yuu suggests, talking solely to Deuce and Grim, since Ace seems to want no part in this.

Despite wanting no part in it, Ace speaks up, “A proper plan? Like some kinda buddy move? Is that a joke? You always say the lamest things with the straightest face, Yuu.” He scoffs, and Yuu takes a deep breath to calm herself down.

“Agreed. No way could I work together with him.” Deuce agrees, and Yuu finds any possibly argument getting stuck in her throat. Grim, however, sticks up for them, “Yeah, but... Gettin' expelled on the first day... That's pretty lame too. Maybe even lamer.” Yuu catches on, and her affection and love for Grim grows stronger every moment he’s with her.

Ace and Deuce stammer for a response as Yuu pulls up the best judgmental face she can. “Yeah, there's nothing cool about that.” She shrugs dismissively.

Ace groans in defeat, “Gah...Fine! Let's just get this over with, then.” He looks to Yuu.

“All right, Yuu. What's the plan?”

grim hurrys to steal a uniform before he is caught

grim mentions that the lid has considerable weight (to him)

grim sets fire to the top of the coffin, opening the 'gate'

grim mentions that they aren't supposed to be awake (yet)

MC/Yuu immediately sees Grim and the floating coffins obviously rattled

when coffin option is picked, Grim becomes irritated that MC/Yuu ignored him, saying "believe me, you won't forget it!"

MC/Yuu runs across campus attempting to run from Grim,going into hallways and classrooms

Grim threatens to burn MC/Yuu if they dont give their uniform away to him then gets promptly hit by Crowley

Crowley seems to have been looking for MC/Yuu because they were absent from the entrance ceremony (possibly seeing the burn coffin and following the possible burn marks from Grim's magic)

Crowley says that he "trusts that *mc/yuu is* one of the new students" possibly not knowing that they were a student at all despite the ceremonial robe

Crowley states that bring a poorly trained familiar is against school rules, possibly implying that trained familiars are allowed to some extent (further backed up by a twitter post about familiars by Yana Toboso)

Crowley says that rebellious familiars always deny being owned

MC/Yuu was Crowley's first student to have enough temerity (daring to tread where others fear) to step out of their gate/coffin

MC/Yuu is both oblivious to being a student and the gate

"the students have restraint enough wait until I open them before waking up" stated by Crowley

The coffins/gates are "intended to symbolize a parting with your former world, and rebirth into a new one." as stated by Crowley

crowley is quick to go back to the entrance ceremony

the gates = timespace teleportation

having trouble knowing where they (mc/yuu) are, crowley simply brushes it off as a small side effect of the teleportation

Crowley mentions that he was entrusted with NRC by the chairman

Crowley also mentions that the dark mirror only chooses who it perceives as talented in magic

those who are selected are summoned by the gates that can appear anywhere ("...summoned to the campus through those 'gates', which can appear anywhere")

the black carriage itself is its own gate onto campus, implying that there are only certain ways to even enter the campus form outside

people were questioning where crowley had gone, showing that he hadn't told his students where he was going despite looking for MC/Yuu as a student (it would be troublesome if all the dorms had left and they would have to catch up late)

The black carrier hadn't had any errors in its century of existence as stated by Crowley

Grim breaks free from Crowley and starts throwing his fire

Riddle and Azul work together to restrain Grim

Azul expresses desire to have Riddle's unique magic after they restrain Grim

Grim gets forced out of NRC

Malleus doesn't show up at the entrance ceremony due to not getting an invite (other dormleaders comment on how it wasn't purposeful but malleus had a unapproachable aura around him)

Lilia leads Diasomnia back to thd dorm, commenting how he hopes Malleus won't sulk about missing out on the ceremony

Yuu seems relived when they have a chance to go home

Crowley becomes confused when the Dark Mirror doesn't activate so tries again

The Dark Mirror cuts Cowley off, saying that Yuu doesn't belong in Twisted Wonderland

Crowley is perplexed at this answer and he mentions again how this has never happened before and how he's at a loss

Crowley asks where MC/Yuu came from(wich is left ambiguous), Crowley states that he had never heard of such a place despite being very familiar with where all his students come from

The two go to the library to see if they can find any record of Yuu's home
