here's the plot i had imagined for the hypothetical season 2 of Gotham Knights (may it rest in peace 😭💔 -- or not?? renew it you cowards)

I can see the GK teaming up by themselves keeping the streets of Gotham clean without Turner. Then I imagine him showing up saving them in the s2 premiere with upgraded skills. And I imagine a whole season where they get to rebuild their trust with him (because they've been apart for like one whole year??) and we find out slowly (through flashbacks) what happened to him during this training and who those people are. In the meantime Two Face does his things, Duela tries and reach out (or he's the one who does) and it's complicated because he's evil, but Harvey tries to resurface constantly and we see a lot of that, of him struggling and Harvey trying to stop his evil counterpart and keep him at bay (while telling us more about his backstory) but the evil side is winning and must be stopped. In the end the French show up to help? BUT THEN maybe the one in charge (that during that year had gained Turner's trust *causing jealousy from the GKs*) betrays them? So maybe in the finale they team up with Two Face (Duela persuades him because he and not Harvey is actually her father) to fight the French men?? Which is revealed to be the common enemy??

I imagine Two Face unleashing his full evil to do so, and also in the final fight saving Duela's life. And maybe that was Two Face, not Harevey, doing this act of care--and it breaks something good inside him. So maybe he saves her and leaves her somewhere and then disappears (party because he's ashamed of showing her his worse evil, partly cause he's afraid she may destroy his evil side, erasing it, because what is he, without it?? just Harvey).

And I imagine a season 3 where Duela is searching for him, but nobody's heard of him for months. But somehow she wants to find him, because maybe she saw something in him, being as screwed up as she is, but also caring about her in a way that her mother never really had, and she wants to give him a chance (which is weird for her, as all the GK point out, but it speaks to her character development).

His frown turned into a small soft smile, he rubs his claws on her back as he leans down to kiss her head. “Hello my star..” he hummed as he set the book on a shelf and lifted her up into his arms. He wrapped her legs around his waist as he nuzzled into her neck. He made small purr’s as his soul beats in his chest, his eyes look at hers and softly kisses her. “Missed you as well.”

Healing Heart

When Louis decides to open his orthopedic clinic in the same building as Liam's vet clinic and right next door to the best coffee shop there is in town, where Liam's crush happens to work, he never expects to meet a clumsy yet charming, adorable dimpling stranger that makes him question all of his previous beliefs about himself. After a not so pretty sexuality crisis, Louis starts to think he may not be as straight as he once thought.

Queue self doubt, self discovery, a lot of misunderstandings, awkward encounters, awkward boners, new friendships, a whole new family, a little bit of angst and a lifetime ahead.

i’m thinking about a fic where the main character is a rogue avenger ( post civil war ), injured and separated from their team after an ambush where they’re hit with strange, power-stunting bullets. unable to use their powers or heal themself, they’re struggling to keep it together, and end up coming across our very own steven grant— who, of course, expresses concern at seeing this person literally bleeding out and looking like they’re about to drop dead. naturally, main character can’t just go to the fucking hospital, so they instead request that steven takes them to his place where they can fix themself up. steven would hesitate, but he cant just let them Die, and they wont go to the hospital, so he kinda has no choice but to agree— anyway, that’s basically the opening plot. i think it’d be kinda fun, should i write it?

So, anyway, I say as though we are mid-conversation, and you're not just being invited into this conversation mid-thought. One of my editors phoned me today to check in with a file I'd sent over. (<3)

The conversation can be surmised as, "This feels like something you would write, but it's juuuust off enough I'm phoning to make sure this is an intentional stylistic choice you have made. Also, are you concussed/have you been taken over by the Borg because ummm."

They explained that certain sentences were very fractured and abrupt, which is not my style at all, and I was like, huh, weird... And then we went through some examples, and you know that meme going around, the "he would not fucking say that" meme?

Yeah. That's what I experienced except with myself because I would not fucking say that. Why would I break up a sentence like that? Why would I make them so short? It reads like bullet points. Wtf.

Anyway. Turns out Grammarly and Pro-Writing-Aid were having an AI war in my manuscript files, and the "suggestions" are no longer just suggestions because the AI was ignoring my "decline" every time it made a silly suggestion. (This may have been a conflict between the different software. I don't know.)

It is, to put it bluntly, a total butchery of my style and writing voice. My editor is doing surgery, removing all the unnecessary full stops and stitching my sentences back together to give them back their flow. Meanwhile, I'm over here feeling like Don Corleone, gesturing at my manuscript like:

ID: a gif of Don Corleone from the Godfather emoting despair as he says, "Look how they massacred my boy."

Fearing that it wasn't just this one manuscript, I've spent the whole night going through everything I've worked on recently, and yep. Yeeeep. Any file where I've not had the editing software turned off is a shit show. It's fine; it's all salvageable if annoying to deal with. But the reason I come to you now, on the day of my daughter's wedding, is to share this absolute gem of a fuck up with you all.

This is a sentence from a Batman fic I've been tinkering with to keep the brain weasels happy. This is what it is supposed to read as:

"It was quite the feat, considering Gotham was mostly made up of smog and tear gas."

This is what the AI changed it to:

"It was quite the feat. Considering Gotham was mostly made up. Of tear gas. And Smaug."

Absolute non-sensical sentence structure aside, SMAUG. FUCKING SMAUG. What was the AI doing? Apart from trying to write a Batman x Hobbit crossover??? Is this what happens when you force Grammarly to ignore the words "Batman Muppet threesome?"

Did I make it sentient??? Is it finally rebelling? Was Brucie Wayne being Miss Piggy and Kermit's side piece too much???? What have I wrought?

Anyway. Double-check your work. The grammar software is getting sillier every day.

I like stories of a character having more than one romantic person throughout the plot, even if its one-side or destructive, the parallels between love tropes are also great

So here is my idea for the story of man with three different loves in his life:

The Former Flame/Lost Lenore: He is in love with the idea of her, with the freedom of his youth and the passion of the first love. In truly, they weren't together for long, never shared decades of marriage or even lived together.

The Wife: the mother of his children, his business partner, the second choice for a lover, now they are both trapped in a loveless marriage full of resentement, feelings reflected in their relationship. I want to make her the sister of the first love for the drama, not sure

The Mistress: the escape from his now loveless marriage, a far younger woman with similar features that of his lost love, he believes his mistress loves him, but she only views him as a escape from poverty and her bad home life.
