what about a reader who’s unknowingly flirting with the twst wonderland cast (specifically savanclaw, octanaville and diasomnia) because of culture differences and species differences?

e.g petting their ears, giving them gifts, smiling with teeth (bc for moray eels that’s how they mate 👀)

OR fem reader who has her period and some of the twst students can smell it I LITERALLY HAD A NIGHTMARE ABOUT THIS 😭😭😭😭

azul ashengrotto

despite how much azul continues to do his best to learn about life on land… relationships are certainly difficult for him to understand sometimes considering how long he has spent his life in the sea and though there are many similarities between merpeople… there are still some differences. once azul is rather close to you he does become unintentionally— clingy with you. (when you two officially get together that's another story) but he has a habit of wanting to lean close to you or have a hand on you in some way, like on the small of your back when showing you something in the mostro lounge.

so needless to say, he is in love with any sort of touch from you he takes that as some sort of hope and sign that you reciprocate how he feels haha. jade and floyd tease him ALL the time about it especially when he was struggling to keep his cool-headed composure after you once gave him a hug after he did something to help you once.

like I've said azul really doesn't think about it or even try to be this way around you he just does aljdfajdkhf. he’ll feel like a smitten fool as he sits in the vip lounge as he's doing papers and just think about how you playfully linked your arm around his to bring him somewhere. small things like that are actually quite big to him when it comes down to the differences.

jade leech

he's aware you probably don't know that you're unknowingly flirting with him, but he finds it amusing and plays along with you, nevertheless. he thinks it's cute that you don't know and all the more enticing, you’ll find him chuckling, trying to hide his grin with his gloved hand “oh my, I didn't know you liked me that much fufu” he’d say. you can't help but feel confused as to what he finds so interesting… like you literally just yawned.

it'll take him a while to actually tell you what it means since he finds the obliviousness to be quite cute. you only put two and two together when he tells floyd about what you did right in front of him and the two laugh about it. now you've got floyd teasing u about it..

like azul he is a little more affectionate just in a different more. in a less obvious fashion, though there definitely have been a few occasions where he likes to bring your hand to his lips and see your reaction, he finds it so amusing. he always has his teethy grin plastered on his face.

leona kingscholar

he hates the way he can always tell when you're wearing cologne or perfume and he hates that he likes it as well, he may or may not be a bit addicted to your scent. he literally can tell if you're near just because he knows the damn fragrance you use.

if you two are particuarly close... like him falling asleep around you and such. if you happen to pet his head and his ears, he immediately shoots you this look then mumbles something before being too tired to do anything about it or give you some retort. he just lets it happen... he does enjoy it anyway. slowly he kinda doesnt realize how clingy he can get with you because of it. he becomes a little needy and wanting more attention from you. he cant help it.... i mean you basically just showed him that you're fine with it anyways.

leona seems to be someone who can get pretty possessive, unintentionally too over you. kind of territorial, like if you're someone he has eyes for then he doesn't expect others to really get in the way of that.

malleus draonica

malleus is not only a fae but a pretty sheltered one too, I’d think he’d take almost anything from you as a sign of you being completely infatuated with him as he is with you. you could offer split your ice cream or invite him out somewhere, show any sort of interest in him as he talks about gargoyles as he’s doing single club activities. the one time you asked curiously and wanted to touch his horns, he’d be searching for the loveliest jewel to bestow you for your wedding day.

speaking of jewels… he gifts to you a lot especially after you give him anything first (it could be a cool rock you found) and he’d be so smitten and glad to reciprocate that by giving you earrings, rings, necklaces etc. and when you accept them even though you're not exactly fully understanding why he takes it even more as a sign of you accepting his advances.

after taking any of your little acts of being somewhat kind to him and he’s already so deeply into you, lilia would certainly be someone who hears just all about it. i think he would only feel happy for malleus, as it appears he must’ve found the right one. he is just supportive of malleus and is simply overjoyed to know he has some little human that makes him so happy.

lilia vanrouge

he has lived long enough and in different places to understands human courting's and more so than someone like malleus. he knows how different it is, trust me he is fully aware, but he thinks it's amusing. lilia pretends to take it the wrong way and watch you get all confused, when he's just being playful.

just cant help that he finds it so adorable when you unknowingly show him affections as a fae would in his culture. even just being slightly affectionate with him is enough to have him giggling and warning you to be careful to what fae you do that to. they do tend to take very kindly towards any affections and gifts!

lilia will straight up tell you though too, you could gift him and give him something neat you found or made, and he'd look up at you with a stupid grin like "kfufu... i accept your love, dear" NO???. he still holds onto anything from you with the utmost joy.

Twst Unveil Event Part 3

Philomela: I hope everyone had a good night's sleep!

NRC, NBC, and RSA: YES!

Philomela: Great! Because you all are going to experience some body pain today!

The students: ...

Epel: Haha... Not everyone seems excited now.

Yuurin: She's never good in motivating anyone.

Malleus: How come she became your mentor?

Yuurin: My mother.

Malleus: Oh.

Philomela: I'll be explaining to you the mechanics now!

Philomela: Today will be the elimination round! You are free to attack anyone you please! And you have all the permission to use any type of moves even magic to your own advantage!

NBC student A: Eh? Isn't this a wrestling event?

NBC student B: If magic is involved, then we'll have better chances of winning.

RSA student A: Won't it be fair to not use any magic at all?

RSA student B: Yes. It feels wrong.

Philomela: Ha! Why? Do you think you can win just because you use magic?

The students: ...

Rook: Madame is right! There are many factors we need to consider!

Ruggie: Hm. Yuurin, you never used magic in any of your wrestling competitions, did you?

Yuurin: No.

Jack: I see. Does that mean...

Yuurin: Philomela is not impressed to any of them. That's why she's willing to give them a leverage to make this match worthwhile.

Floyd: Ne~ Mrs. Whale~ What other things we should remember for this elimination round?

Philomela: Nothing much, except that you have 30 minutes to fight anyone.

Floyd: Yay~!

Jade: Oh dear... *chuckles*

Epel: Can't I really join?

Rook: You'll get yourself hurt, Monsieur Crabapple.

Epel: *pouts*

Sebek: I promise to win this round, Waka-sama!

Silver: This is only an elimination round, Sebek.

Malleus: Do your best, Sebek, Silver.

Sebek/Silver: Yes, Waka-sama!/Malleus.

Ruggie: I guess this is the part where we start recording—

Philomela: Spectators! There is a designated room for us!

Malleus, Ruggie, Jack, Jade, and Epel: Huh?

Philomela: *leads them to a room that offers a panoptic view of the locations in the Kingdom of Heroes*

Epel: Whoa... *in amazement*

Philomela: Sick, isn't it?

Jade: Indeed. I've never been to such place before.

Jack: Ah! I can see everyone clearly!

Philomela: *laughs* Yes! This room will cater to your needs! Foods, drinks, and a good entertainment!

Rollo: *looks displeased*

Neige: This is great! Principal Ambrose will surely love this place!

Epel: Neige Le Blanche?!

Neige: Hello~!

Malleus and Ruggie: Flamme/Rollo.

Rollo: ...

Rollo: It's a pleasure to meet you again, mages.

Malleus and Ruggie: *smirks*

Jack and Jade: ???

Philomela: Everyone! Take your seats!

Epel: Um... But there are no seats— *a seat in front of him appears*

Epel: ...

Philomela: This room will cater to your needs. *smiles proudly*

Epel: Neat!

The students: *listening to Philomela's voice*

Philomela: BOYS! ARE YOU READY?

Floyd: Can we do a war cry~?

Philomela: *laughs* YES!

The students except Yuurin and Silver: RAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Yuurin and Silver: ...

Silver: Good luck to you, Yuurin.

Yuurin: *nods* You too, Silver.

Epel: Wow... Just wow...

Jade: That's Floyd for you.

*Floyd unleashed a flurry of clothesline strikes, taking out multiple students simultaneously with each powerful swing.*

Ruggie: Poor NBC and RSA students.

Malleus: Sebek and Silver are doing well.

*Sebek asserts his dominance by executing his running bulldog move; swiftly seizing his opponents by the head and driving them face-first into the ground with decisive force.*

*Silver expertly wraps his arm around the neck of each approaching opponent, applying precise pressure to cut off their air supply and induce unconsciousness.*

Epel: Wow... Everyone is amazing— Wait. Where's Rook?

*Rook's grin widens as he expertly locks his poor opponent into the sharpshooter.*

Epel and Ruggie: ...

Ruggie: That savage.

Jack: Ruggie-senpai! Look! Some of the students are attacking Yuurin!

Philomela: *smiles*

*Yuurin remains composed as everyone closes in on her. Then, she swiftly grabs one attacker, lifts them, and slams them to the ground with a powerful spinebuster move. With each opponent, she repeats this action, using their momentum against them to quickly take them down, one by one.*

Epel, Jack, and Ruggie: ...

Ruggie: Oh shit, wait— I need to document this.

Floyd: Whoo-hoo~! This feels great~!

The students he defeated: *groaning in pain*

Sebek: Ha! I've defeated 25 students!

Rook: Oh! That's impressive, Monsieur Crocodile!

Silver: Should we be counting?

Sebek: How about you, Yuurin?! Bet you didn't—

Yuurin: *students piled up like a mountain beside her*

Yuurin: It seems we're the only remaining ones.

Floyd, Sebek, Silver, and Rook: ...

Sebek: WHAT THE HELL?!

Hello, thank you for the ask! I've been really busy, so I'm sorry I'm replying super late ;-;

Dorm leaders get a kiss on the cheek by their s/o

Riddle

If you do it in public, expect him to go red and almost push you off (he would succeed if he wasn't already frozen by your action)

"H-hey not here!" he would say, squeezing his eyes shut as he tries to get you off of him.

Riddle likes it, he likes getting kisses because he's so touch-starved, but he has a reputation to uphold! That of a strict dorm leader, and if you kiss him and make him into a melting puddle, he can't do that!

if you kiss him privacy however, he'll still blush but he won't stop you. He might even give you a kiss in return.

It's really cute, but plan your actions wisely!

Leona

He doesn't care if you kiss him in public or when the two of you are alone. He'll just respect your decision and deep inside, he likes getting the attention

"Herbivore, you're only gonna kiss one half? The other side's lonely too," he would joke, and you would have to kiss him on the other cheek too haha

He's probably a bit shocked on the inside. The women and men he's used to are much harsher and scarier than the soft s/o he has. So of course, he's blushing slightly

He won't necessarily kiss you back, but he might let you stay with him for a bit longer than originally planned. It's his way of saying thank you haha.

He's a tsundere, so he won't completely admit that he really likes you kissing him, but you can see it in his eyes.

Azul

If you kiss him in public, it's basically the same as Riddle but he's panicking more than acting angry.

"Y-y/n, not h-here, everyone's looking," he would whisper, trying to fix his glasses while Floyd and Jade try to hide their laughs.

Azul likes it, too much to be honest. He's probably the most touch-starved if excluding Malleus, so he'll latch onto you if you guys are alone together.

Speaking of which, he'll kiss you on the cheek back in both public and private, but he might sneak one on your lips if the two of you are alone.

Overall, if you want a really clingy octopus, kiss him on the cheek. Expect a flustered mess but it might be worth it

Kalim

He's probably the most chill with you kissing him on the cheek haha.

"Aww, thank you! Let me give you one in return!" he would then hug you tightly and peck you on the cheek as well.

He's someone that's completely alright with pda, so the two of you might kiss each other on the cheek as a form of "hello" instead of using words haha. Not only that, but he tries to sneak kisses himself too.

If in privacy, he's the same. Just a very wholesome young man haha. I can imagine him trying to kiss you while flying on the carpet with you but then almost losing balance (giving the two of you a heart attack haha).

Either way, he really likes it, so be confident and give him more kisses!

Vil

He won't hate it, but he will warn you to not do it in public because paparazzi is an issue.

"Darling, I know you love me, but can this wait until we are out of watching eyes?" he would whisper to you before returning to a proper posture.

He's someone that has a public image, but in privacy he's just himself. If you kiss him then, he'll smile and kiss you on the lips and head instead.

He's super sweet, but also very smooth. You'll be the one left as a blushing mess and he'll be smirking at you. He might tease you a bit too just to see you squirm more.

Overall, he's very suave, but be sure to remember that you're partner is a super famous actor and model!

Idia

If you thought Riddle being frozen was a lot, be prepared for Idia to basically shut down if you kiss him in public.

"A-ah, y/n! W-w-what are y-you d-d...doing?!!" his hair will flare into red and he'll bury his face in his hands. He might run away from you too haha, only to text you soon after to find him in a more secluded place because of how embarrassed he is.

You can tease him really easily, and whenever you kiss him on the cheek he can't help but love how sweet you are. He's not used to having so much kindness, so he loves it.

If you guys are alone, I can imagine him also being a super shy kind of a guy, but he might shyly kiss your cheek too. It's super cute!

Idia's really soft, and he likes soft things though he might not seem like it. Moments like this really make his heart go wild.

Malleus

He likes it! It doesn't matter if it's public or private, either way he's smiling at you softly.

"Child of man, what a cute gesture," he would comment and kiss you on the cheek as well.

He might find ways to sneak a kiss on you and surprise you instead. He likes seeing you in a blushing mess!

He's super touch-starved, so though he shows nonchalance to what you do, he's melting in the inside. He really likes it when you're soft to him ;-;

If he sneaks a kiss on you, kiss him back! It'll make him blush (which is very rare, at least from what Lilia has told you haha).

Hey hey! I've read your rules like 3 times and I think this is okay, but I'm really sorry if I missed something! Self aware Leona, Azul, and Jamil with being the favorite specifically because the reader can relate to their trauma in a way?

Eg, having a golden child sibling (Leona), having been bullied (Azul), or essentially being parentified (Jamil)

I don't think this counts under the trauma dumping rule, but again, I'm sorry if it does, or even if it's on thin ice!

It’s (at least in my eyes) not exactly trauma dumping but you are right with it being on thin ice. Some authors are a bit more sensitive than others after all. Also, I have no siblings so.. uh… I tried my best with Leona.

But hey, the air is warm, the dorm leader who declared you his pillow hair is soft like a slinghtly heavy, warm blanket and you can’t remember when you had the last time more than a few hours rest

And boom! You wake up in his room

Oh no no no. This isn’t some sort of yandere fan fic… ha…haha… but the door is unlocked and nothing else but Leona clutching onto your side in his sleep is holding you back

What did you expect? A cage in his room with you in it? Do you even know how hard it is to take care of someone imprisoned whilst having to hide that you are the person who kidnapped them?

But that doesn't mean he won’t use other means to mentally chain you to him

Always using his brother to gain your sympathy, saying that you don’t care about him…

Before you know it you are once more his pillow, combing through his hair with your fingers

But wait, isn’t he smiling? Nah, he was just disappointed a second ago…

Prepare for the tears

No joke, this poor octopus will break down the second he hears you have been bullied like he was

Azul is already… special when it comes to you and even hearing that someone called you once a not-so-nice name will make him break down

And later on burn with passion to make a deal that is totally not shady and not life-ruining with them

Please tell him that it’s alright

That was all in the past and you are now ready to move on and just live life the good way

Also, can you hug him? For him? For me?

What can I say, after you defeated his overblot form and had that talk he started to treat you like you were made out of glass

Not like it was much better before but… I don’t know… he just does the coodeling on a whole other level

Before this Flozd liked to squeeze you and Jade to be a well-meaning meneace in your life

Over those bone crushing and mind grinding times, you are going to be well protected until you feel like you are an antique in a Museum

And if someone dares to do something to you (or rather, what Azul understands under that) then whoopsy! They are suddenly gone

No need to visit the beach any time soon. That sea foam looks suspicious…

But believe me when I tell you that you will eat the best food you ever tasted in your life, for free!

You are more to Azul than just an allknowing scholar. You are someone who understands him and he will be damned if he lets anyone treat you less than with utmost care ever again!

Cue to Medusa popping up and getting defeated

But imagine the shock on Jamil's usual calculating face when he saw you laying a cold towel on his head just when he woke up

Why was the Overseer teding to him? A mere servant who even betrayed his own master??!

He gets even more confused when you insist on helping him after Kalim is up to his usual doings

To be honest, he is thankful

He was a bit shaky on those legs after using so much magic and you helping him is something he appreciates

But this raises the question, why do you seem so experienced in taking care of someone and helping them as well?

Oh no, Jamil won’t be so tactless to just ask but he will watch you… right after he took care of the silk Kalim ordered

Jamil has admired you his entire life. An otherworldly being who even made the Sorcerer of Sands look up into the sky and search for your wisdom among the stars… how fascinating!

And what power you must posess! You were even able to enter his world-Jamil Viper, a student that doesn’t know you woke up without knowing how you got here one fateful day

After he gets better he is dead set on repaying you (no, he did not think about joining Octavinelle)

It’s just… you were so warm… and so kind… and so worryingly good at taking care of another person…

Wait… did he just become your own personal Kalim??!

This is also what made him finally questioning you about this and… safe to say his carefully crafted mask slipped from his face and smashed on the floor

Someone dared to make the Overseer take care of them??!

The aftermath to that is him becoming your personal servant. Kalim can get poisoned for all he cares. Now you are the important one here… in that room with the many locks.

Leona, Ruggie, Azul, Jade, Floyd........... and you, for some reason.

"Ah... what a shame Monsieur Fier-a-Bras could not attend. I would have quite enjoyed having him here... I would have also enjoyed having the Roi du Dragons here, but, ah, c'est la vie." Rook sighed.

"So why'd you bring us all here, Seagull?" Floyd asked, making sure he kept his arms around you. He's been real clingy all day...

"Ah! I simply wish to share with you an interesting potion I've created! It's a shrinking potion which can usually only be crafted underwater, as it turns into a gas the second it makes contact with oxygen, however, I have created it on land! How impressive, non?"

"Uh... yeah. Real impressive, I guess..." Ruggie awkwardly said. "......so can we go now?"

"Ah, not yet... I do have something more to show you."

"No, I'm leaving." Leona said.

"Me too, I don't trust this one bit." Azul added.

"Oh dear! No no! You can't leave yet!" Rook insisted, running to the door. "I still have to do something!"

"And that would be...?" Jade trailed off, hoping Rook would finish his sentence.

"This."

Rook let go of the potion, letting it fall to the ground. The glass shattered in every direction as Rook quickly left the room and held the door shut.

"THE HELL?!" Leona screamed, pounding on the door. "THAT BASTARD TRAPPED US IN HERE!"

Your eyes darted to the liquid on the ground. You noticed it start popping and fizzing, almost looking like it was somehow bringing itself to a boil...

"Ah! L-look! The potion, it's-!"

And then, the entire room became filled with a magic gas.

"DON'T BREATHE IN!!" Ruggie yelled, placing a hand over his mouth. "QUICK, FIND A WINDOW!"

"There aren't any in here, genius!" Leona sarcastically said. "Octotwerp! Get your damn goons to help me break the door down!"

"I've said it multiple times, they don't answer to me!" Azul yelled.

"I would help you, however, it seems the potion is already taking it's effects on us..." Jade mentioned.

That's when you and everyone else realized that... the room seemed to be slowly getting bigger.

After everything stopped, Rook entered the room once more.

"Ah! It worked!" Rook excitedly said, grabbing Ruggie first. "And now, for what I've been waiting on so patiently for~"

Rook dropped Ruggie into his mouth, and then...

Gulp.

You were completely horrified.

Floyd suddenly picked you up and started running away... somewhere. It looks like everyone else had a similar idea.

You and Floyd hid behind some stones and artifacts just as you saw Azul get grabbed.

"I think we'll be safe here... I am not letting Seagull eat me." Floyd scowled. "You ok?"

"I'm fine, but... w-why would Rook do this...?" You asked, very nearly on the verge of tears. You've always been a bit of a scaredy cat, but this... this was too much.

"Well... y'know... I'll be sure to, um, keep you safe." Floyd blushed, looking away from you.

"You... you would really do that for me?"

"Of course I would..." He sighed. "But I can't believe he was right! Seabream read my palm earlier and told me somethin' was definitely gonna go wrong today, and I don't think it could go any more 'wrong' than this..."

"Haha, yeah, I guess you're right!" You said, trying to deal with the situation.

You then notice Floyd's expression change to pure terror as he grabbed you by the shoulders. Before you could ask what was going on, he shoved you to the side, and then...

"Shrimpy, you have to run."

He was grabbed by Rook.

You immediately started running as fast as you possibly could.

You heard the sound of something being swallowed, and it wasn't long before you were grabbed as well.

"Bonjour, (Y/N), mon petit crevette, as Monseuir Malfeasant would call you~" Rook smiled widely.

"P-please, I... I don't..."

"Oh? Whatever is the matter, petit crevette?" Rook asked. "Are you perhaps missing your dearest murène? Ohhh... how sad that is... but don't worry! You and he will be reunited in due time... ah! How beautiful this is! You're willing to be eaten just to be reunited with your dearest murène!"

"W-WHY ME?! WHAT'D I DO?!" You screamed and cried.

My my, what are with these tears? I'm simply trying to reunite you and Monseuir Malfeasant!" Rook said, dragging his finger gently across your face to wipe your tears. Rook placed a hand to his mouth as he let out a small burp. "Ah... excuse-moi... they're being quite rude in there. You can calm them down, I hope."

You couldn't stop yourself from crying.

"I'm sure you see right through me. And I needn't explain myself to you." Rook glared. "Now, en vous allez."

Rook then placed you in his mouth.

Then, he swallowed you whole as if you were nothing at all.

You were hyperventilating and screaming and kicking and hitting, just trying to do anything.

"That's quite rude of you, (Y/N)." You heard Rook say. "If you're smart, you'll knock that off."

That terrified you into stopping.

You ended up falling directly into the arms of someone.

"Huh. Well that's a coincidence." It's... Floyd. He caught you. "You didn't do a great job at running away, didja-?" You immediately grabbed onto him and started sobbing once more. "Wha- Hey! Hey, hey, calm down! Calm down, Shrimpy! We're gonna be fine, ok? The teacher's would definitely notice if a group of students suddenly went missing, then they'd eventually pin the crime on Seagull, so he can't hurt us."

"A-are you sure.....?"

"...mostly."

And then, Jade arrived.

Rook laughed to himself as he began to clean up the glass on the floor.

Leona had accepted this for now and somehow fallen asleep despite the situation.

So...about that new MD Episode...

Totally me not figuring out how to use this freaking site, ha...

Yes, hello! First time ACTUALLY legit posting on this thing. So! For people following the Ad Astra, Per Aspera series...how 'bout that new episode huh?

I know that you guys are thinking that imma have to redo "Memento Nori" and possibly "To Stay In Heaven, For Fear of Your Creation" and "To Serve In Heaven, Or Rule In Hell" because of things that came to light...and here's my official answer.

HELL NO.

I did nearly 50 chapters of work based on stuff that I inferred from watching the previous episodes, had that near six month waiting period to stew and simmer over what possibly happened. And...I don't want to redo it. I'm proud of all three of them (even if "Memento Nori" is getting some slight tweaks to make it fit better with the later installments...it's nothing MAJOR).

I'm currently working on "What Friends Are For" chapter 34 (which is also undergoing some slight tweaks) and, with the help of my awesome friends, we've come up with some fun reasons for why things in ep 7 happened without breaking what happened in the prior ones.

ESPECIALLY regarding Tessa and our new cast member.

I will admit, I am going slightly canon divergent with things because I've had things mapped out for "A Universe of Suns, Moons, and Stars" that I really want to keep. This includes a character that might not be there for episode 8 judging by what we've seen. So, I'm taking their advice and "Fighting back".

I know I've been kinda lauded, undeservedly to be honest, about doing a good canon+ series. Unfortunately with the story I want to tell...it might not be what happens. After all...I was wrong about the Disassemblers' origins haha.

However, this does not apply for "Cross the Jaded Stars". That one I will be following Canon (for the most part. I'm spicing things up for that one. Hey, gotta make my swap unique, y'know!)

That being said, thank you all for sticking with me, if I lose you because I'm not rewriting near 50 chapters to better fit with what happened in canon, I'm sorry. But...I'm proud of Ad Astra as a series. It's my child of paper and printers ink...and I want to raise it to be the best it can. Even if that means classifying it as a "Fix-it" series at the end.

Do you have any advice on being more confident when talking about your own comic? Whenever I bring up/talk about the fact that I make a comic, I always feel super akward and like I'm just annoying the other person lol(also sorry if you already saw this! I sent an ask earlier but I'm not sure if it went through becuase I used a kaomoji at the end and I never got a little message saying that the ask whent through lol)

I definitely did see your first ask, I've just been working through them as best I can, sorry for the wait :' )

So I don't really have any solid advice because like... frankly I feel like I'm also not great at talking about what I do?? Especially when it comes to my original projects. I know that probably sounds wild coming from me but when I talk about my comics, especially in real life, it does still feel like I'm in high school trying to talk about my hyperfixation with the adults around me haha I used to just gush about the stories I was writing and somewhere along the line I kind of lost that passion, maybe I outgrew those ideas or maybe I became a little jaded from it feeling like no one cared, much like what you described.

I think it really is just a matter of owning it and being true to yourself. Confidence isn't something tangible that you can just gain, it's a habit you have to form. I heard a saying once that stuck with me: confidence isn't the answer to the question, "Will they like me?", it's simply finding peace in, "If they don't like me, that's okay. I am enough." And that extends to your work.

If it means you have to fake it till you make it, then so be it - like I mentioned above, it's a habit, not a sudden transformation. You will go through times where it's hard, where you don't feel confident in yourself, but what matters is eventually getting back up and continuing on.

Surrounding yourself with others who have the same goals as you can also be super helpful. I have communities I'm in made up of other creatives, comic artists, etc. and that makes for a great support circle of people who know the struggle and can offer support. We deserve to have ourselves uplifted by the people in our lives, not brought down.

Personally speaking, I'm not even working on my original projects currently, I'm hoping to get them back on track over the winter but it's been hard on me mentally because I know I'm gonna be returning to a piece of work that doesn't get much engagement out of a few people who have stuck around, which has been something I've been struggling with for years now. I'm trying to be both positive and realistic with what I can handle, what I want to put up with, and what exactly I want to get out of what I'm putting in. I want to regain that confidence I used to have in the stuff I do, talk about it with the same passion I used to, even if things don't turn out the way I hope.

So yeah, I guess let's try and be more confident together :' )

my sad little overwatered succulent is jealous of your plants too haha

Honestly I'm not much of a succulent person. I don't do great with them, but I'm learning. I've been cultivating and propagating a jade plant for a while now that's getting nice and healthy! I have a lot of aloe, and I learned the key to succulents is: cactus soil mixed with perlite and chunky gravel mix, don't water until the soil is DRY BABY D.R.Y.! and some succulents you can tell by the leaves. Also, if it's not drying out, repot it to a snug pot. They like to be tight, use new soil, and give it as much light as you can without it going in direct light, that can lead to sunburn on some. They also do really well in terracotta

For instance, jade starts to wrinkle when it needs water. Don't water until the leaves wrinkle and the soil is dry if you put a chopstick all the way down into it and nothing comes back up. They store water in the leaves. They can live with a lil underwatering. He'll need watered in a week or two by looking at him and his soil. He has very few roots bc i rescued him from a succulent arrangement i almost killed lol 😅

I know when my aloe needs watered because the soil is dry, the leaves are softer than usual. They harden up because they're storing water in those leaves. They droop if they're not getting enough sun. Some of my leaves are over 3 years old and they're drooping bc at one point i wasnt giving enough sun and i don't want to take the time to retrain them. They're all rescue aloes lol so It took a long time to get them back to here

Some people find strings of things super hard, but they're not! String of pearls are what i have rn, these are variegated so they need even more sun than regular ones! Cacti soil mix, shallow pot bc they don't get thick tuber roots like most succulents (cacti get thicker roots). See the lines in the center of the pearls? Thay means they're full of water! When i squish him, hes stiff, so he doesnt need water. His soil is a little drier but I'm not going to water until the pearls are softer and the soil is dry. Theyll even wrinkle a bit!

If you overwatered your succulent, take him out of his pot, get him some chunky soil and clean the roots. I just spray them with some 3% hydrogen peroxide. Cut off any dead or stringy roots. Put him in a tight pot, preferably terracotta so the pot can absorb extra water if you do it again. Wait a few days and then you can bottom water or water from the top. Then just leave him be lol, put him in a sunny spot and he'll thrive! If he's leggy or stretched out... I'm sorry the only way to make him better is to chop him. 🥴

I would if I knew them haha jk, or well, not cuz so for I haven't really had anything super concrete for either of them? But I've been working on that more these last few days and am slowly starting to get an idea in my head of what's going on with them. I don't mind sharing, but it's def pretty vague and subject to change as I figure the story out more lol

I have more for Eugene than for Ophelia at the moment just cuz I need to figure out how my version of hell works to you know, explain his whole deal and justify him being dragged back, as that's one of the most major plot points lmao but for him it's basically that not all demons are fallen angels, and instead new ones can be made/manifested?? by the most powerful old fallen angel demons so they can essentially have minions to do their bidding, and that's where he came from. He's supposed to be on earth tempting people to sin so his...I guess ancient demon mom?? can continue to be powerful or grow in power or something idk she wants those sweet sweet human souls.

He'd always been a bit milder and nicer than the average demon tho, but still at first he was totally down cuz the other demons he was around were like "yeah humans suck it's so easy to get them to be evil and earth blows we've totally gotta go up there and cause problems" but when he did get there he was like "wait...no this place kinda rules actually? there's weather and the sun and food and people are actually pretty good when you give them the chance to be?? uh yeah...I don't think I can keep being evil, I'm gonna stop and go rogue" but it's less like a full rebellion and more like he's kinda just hiding as best he can just skirting by and praying his demon mom doesn't notice. He got trapped in the building Ophelia works at sometime around 1900 by a demon hunter who wasn't particularly interested in finding out if he was good or bad, and didn't awaken until Ophelia accidentally found and unsealed him.

As for Ophelia, for now I'm not entirely sure why she's so jaded and cynical and depressed, but I know she doesn't have many friends and basically has no contact with her family/parents(idk if I wanna do the dead mom/dad thing or if she's just on really bad terms with them) but yeah she's pretty Alone for the most part and has been for a while. She does like her job at the concert venue, but aside from that she's pretty withdrawn and apathetic. Eugene ends up being the first demon? person in ages that she ends up really connecting with even if his brand of optimism and general zest for life gets on her nerves at first.

Anyway, that's basically it for rn, but now that I have a barebones backstory slapped together for Eugene Ophelia is next, hopefully it won't be too hard to figure out lmao

When it comes to interacting with others, I’m a rather quiet person, not one to approach anyone first or start a conversation because haha what are social skills. But when I feel at ease, I'll do or say anything and everything that comes to mind. I can talk your ear off when I’m passionate about something, and I tend to be opinionated and stubborn, but I still try to be kind.

I have a lot of things I’m passionate about, and can be rather ambitious with my plans. Plus I love learning about anything and everything (though classes take away that enjoyment lol, I hate going to classes and would rather teach myself things).

I’m a literature student in university but I have learnt about art history, calculus, chemistry, astronomy, physics, architecture and computer programming over the years; I am decent at three languages, learning three others, and aspire to be a polyglot.

I consider myself to be very artistic as I’m a ballet + contemporary dancer, a theatre kid, a singer, I’m currently learning piano and used to play the drums when I was younger. I also love to exercise, I’m a fencer and do bouldering from time to time.

I tend to always seek some sort of stimulation, be it mental or physical, but when I do get some down time or lazy days, I appreciate those with all my being.

I’m never one to back down from a challenge (even if it’s something small and ridiculous, I shaved my eyebrows just because a friend called me a coward) and I like to say that the only reason I exist is spite, but despite being bold I am very scared of intimacy and vulnerability, not allowing myself to show any “weak” side of me like the sad side or the soft side. I’m trying to unlearn that (toxic masculinity is a bitch). I’m very bad at expressing feelings but deep down I’m a romantic. Love letters and old fashioned romance and soft lingering touches and all that.

Appearance wise, I’m short (5’3’’) but have a decent amount of muscle so that won’t stop me from kicking anyone’s ass; I have (very messy) shoulder length, blue hair and dress casually.

You always reply happily and start repeating everything you learned that day. Jade likes to listen to you because he discovers something that way also.

The longer you and Jade keep seeing each other, the more he learns about you and in general. You're a dancer? Jade chuckles at that because when he came to dry land he had trouble even standing up. You singing? Jade is surprised to hear how good you sound, but instead of giving you a direct compliment, he asks if you are actually a siren? He ends up complimenting you anyways.

Your physique also stuns Jade from time to time. You might be a little shorter, but Jade has a feeling that you could easily take on his twin brother Floyd. You are both strong and it shows.

Don't worry, Jade keeps you busy so you won't get bored. Wanna help around the Mostro? You can try serving customers and if you're eager to learn then Jade will teach you how to make drinks.

ENTRY #1

It's a typical Thursday night in Quezon City, and I'm here at a place called "Publiq" —It's a cozy rooftop bar in Mo. Ignacia, just a few streets away from ABS-CBN.

It's currently 9:53pm in my watch and I've been here since 7pm today. Earlier, I met with ate Maey (she's one of the nicest people I've met in the industry) and she gave me these co-ords that didn't fit her and they were actually really cute. After that, I decided to go to this rooftop bar that PJ and Jade (they're my work friends) introduced to me a few months back.

I went by myself and I thought why not get dinner and enjoy the view from above. This is what it looked like from where I was sitting:

I ate some chicken tenders but I didn't get to finish it kasi grabe ang dami pala nya haha. I also ordered a chocolate milkshake which I really enjoyed, and after a while, I also ordered a Tequila Sunrise (It's the first time I drank alcohol in a long time, I actually promised Nate that I'm not going to drink anymore).

I just confirmed that I no longer like drinking, and will not be finishing this glass. I guess I just felt weird not ordering a drink when I'm in a bar after all. But yeah, while I was enjoying the live band, I decided to keep on reading Maine Mendoza's book, and I have to say I was surprised at how nice it felt to read a book while being in a bar (HAHAHA PLS I KNOW IT SEEMS ODD, WALANG BASAGAN NG TRIP). I'll probably do this again some other time. The ambivert in me is really happy because while I'm surrounded by groups of people (the extrovert in me thrives in places like this and it gives me life), I also don't necessarily have to interact with anyone and just do my own thing (because my social battery is really low and my introverted side just creeps out). It's a WIN-WIN situation, so I'll probably do this again.

I like doing things by myself, and I guess it took me some time before I started embracing being alone. I'm a very clingy and sociable person, and being with people energizes me. But for the past few years I've come to learn the peace that comes with being alone and doing things alone.

I used to never understand what they meant before when they said "it's so peaceful being alone", I was always quick to reply with "Doesn't it get lonely?" and the answer is it does. But it doesn't really compare to the chaos of dealing with others and losing your own peace.

Side note: Having a nice view while listening to music, just really hits different. (Btw the band was great, they're called @_jproject).

I don't know if this really is my self-care era, but I'm learning to love and care for myself in ways I haven't tried out before. Siguro it really takes time to master taking care of yourself. I think in the months to come mas marami pa akong matututunan tungkol sa sarili ko. I have been meaning to do a lot of soul-searching in the next couple of months/years because right now I feel like I'm a blank slate. I often find myself asking "Who is Zoey?", and I can't wait to find out.

So till then my lovelies, I'll catch you on the flipside!

P.S. This Strawberry ice cream has a really weird texture but I like it for some reason. Oh, and I love the cherry on top <3

once upon a time

there was a girl

except she didn't like being a girl. at least, not in the way that girls usually are. girls rule and boys drool. that was her motto. then she went to college and learned about how much it sucked to be a girl. girls don't get paid as much, girls don't get the high paying jobs, girls get harassed and abused, and sidelined and belittled. sexism sucks. so she didn't like that. and she thought, that by going by 'they' instead of 'she,' they could change things. but things don't change the way she thought they would. it's like looking at a mountain and knowing that water corrodes rock. it doesn't happen overnight. and does one even have the patience to see it through. will they suffer mental illness before the rock changes? in my experience, yes definitely.

mental illness, i've suffered illnesses. physical illnesses abound. what's funny is that in these last couple of years, i haven't gotten sick at all. i've been very vigilant about germs, and maybe it's also because i've been taking care of my mental health. or maybe it's ... well. whatever, i don't feel like going down that thread anymore. i think it's time to go back in time, and see what i've written... and build upon that...? ya ya? creative writing. maybe i should reserve the editing for night.

once upon a time, there was a girl, named lan zhan. haha, omg i can't w myself. her mom died at a young age. and actually. wait. maybe it should be her dad... hmm. yea, that sounds better. her dad died she she was young. her aunt was very strict and only permitted her and her older sister to see their dad once a month. she really liked those visits, even though she pretended to be unaffected when her dad teased her. one day, her strict aunt said that there would be no use visiting anymore. but she still went to her dad's place to wait for him to open the door. that girl grew up to be a very obedient student. until this other girl came, and messed everything up. the end.
