Fic Auction for Charity!
Alright y’all! The time has come! Now through Sunday, August 28th 11:59PM (Central Daylight Time) YOU have the power to guide my hand and decide which of my many, many, (many) kaishin WIPs will take priority and ascend to the top of my list!
This is part of a charity event run by @ficwritersforreproductiverights !
How??
Well, I’m an accountant. So we’re gonna use money. Every dollar donated to any reputable charity anywhere in the world that is fighting to support and protect reproductive rights will be 1 vote. (More details below the cut.)
Show me the options!
Vampire!Shinichi
Gay drama! Kaito’s deeply closeted and dealing with some internalized homophobia and it’s ruining his and Shinichi’s relationship. Can love conquer all?
Porn! Starts out with a sexy dream and a bit of voyeurism, ends with actual sexy times~
Other porn! Involving blindfolds and a bit of roleplay
I’d be happy with any one-shot fluffy get-together fic if it means you’ll have something new to post faster~❤
Detective Conan Movie Cut Scenes: Private Eyes' Requiem
Look, DS, I just want you to focus on the the next installment of the Fall into Flying universe!
(More details on each of these below the cut.)
Remember, our goal here is to raise as much as we can to support and protect reproductive healthcare for all!
The world’s gone mad. Let’s write our way out. ✍
Tell me more about how voting works?
There is a $1 minimum as $1 = 1 vote (If donation is in a different currency I'll go with the closest reasonable equivalent.)
First, pick a charity. If you already have some that you like, that’s great! If not, try this helpful list!
Next, make a donation and take a screenshot of your confirmation that shows which charity you donated to and the amount donated.
Send that screenshot to me either on tumblr, on discord (DragonSorceress22#9937), or by dropping it in this google doc here – whatever you find easiest. (Please be sure to black out or exclude any sensitive personal info in your screenshot! Safety first!)
Along with your screenshot, tell me which option number(s) you want to support:
For example, if you really really really, want vampire!Shinichi to win, and you made a $10 donation to Charity A, you can send me your screenshot and say “all 10 of my votes are for Option 1!”
Or what if you can’t decide which is better: porn 3 or porn 4? You could split your donation total and say, “5 votes for Option 3 and 5 votes for Option 4!”
Or any variation thereupon
There is a $1 minimum but there is no maximum! If you want to come in absolutely wreck the system by making it rain because you’ve just GOT to have that Gay Drama™ in your life, you can do that! If you want to give a little to a lot of different charities, or go all in on one charity you really love, it’s all good!
Say more words about these fic options… 👀
Vampire!Shinichi. Working title: Different Means. This fic would also feature magicalblood!Kaito (he’s basically vampire catnip in this scenario, let’s be real) and would be rated E for sexy times as well as for violence. (Whump? You better believe it.) The idea belongs to @kiwilart and their friend, but I got real obsessed with it and they said it would be okay if I wrote my take on it : ) This would be a little bit of a longer fic. Probably with chapters instead of a one-shot.
Gay drama! Working title: runner. Kaito’s deeply closeted and dealing with some internalized homophobia and it’s ruining his and Shinichi’s relationship. Can love conquer all? Well this one’s got a happy ending, so yeah, I guess it can lol It will be rated either E or M for sexy times – not sure yet. I’m guessing this will be a one-shot.
Porn! Working title: It Was Only Just a Dream. Starts out with Shinichi having a sexy dream and Kaito having a bit of voyeurism. Ends with actual sexy times~ Rated E. No plot. One-shot.
Other porn! Working title: Rival Fantasy. Involving blindfolded Shinichi, a bit of bondage, and a bit of roleplay as sort of pre-relationship thief and detective (instead of the practically married couple they already are in this fic). Rated E. No plot. One-shot.
Any one-shot fluffy get-together fic. I’ve got a fluffy get-together G-rated one-shot that I could probably crank out pretty quickly if it’s what the good people want :) Working title: In My Dreams from the song of the same title by Ruth B.
Detective Conan Movie Cut Scenes: The Private Eyes' Requiem. Has it been two and a half years since I posted one of these? Yes. But that doesn’t mean I’m not still working on it. But now you have the power to say, “No more waiting! Give us Kaito’s perspective on the hostages in a theme park and detectives wearing bombs movie!”
Look, DS, I just want you to focus on the the next installment of the Fall into Flying universe! I’ve been working on Blackout for probably three years now, and I’m still only halfway through the eighth chapter. The pandemic messed me up for a while, but if the people decree, I will get my butt back on track and focus in on this mighty beast of a story! This one comes with the bonus factor of tumblr teaser posts every time I complete a chapter! The first seven are already posted ;)
Some general notes:
You are only voting for which of these WIPs I bump up to priority status. If your favorite doesn’t win, that does not mean I’ll never write it, but it could mean you’ll be waiting a much longer time to see it finished.
You may well see me posting items that are not the winner of this auction before the winning fic from this auction. That could be due to the fact that I owe specific people specific fics from other charity auctions, or as part of a commission exchange, or because I tripped and fell on my keyboard and oops I finished this other fic and what am I gonna do, not feed you guys? Please be patient with me.
And that’s it! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out to me with an ask or an at here on tumblr, or a DM or an at over on discord (DragonSorceress22#9937) – whatever you prefer.
LET’S GOOOOOO!!! :D

team danganronpa?
ft. chiaki, kokichi, nagito
this has MAJOR spoilers so everything’s under the cut. do not read if your haven’t finished goodbye despair and killing harmony
@melmellimelon asked: I know this is a weird request but what about Chiaki, Kokichi and Nagito having an s/o who is self aware that this is just a game (you know, like Danganronpa 3 last trial)
a/n: i wasn’t sure if you wanted s/o to work for team danganronpa or they just figured it out. so i just wrote both :)
buckle up because this is filled with angst
Tumblr media
——— chiaki nanami
s/o works for team danganronpa™️
it wasn’t supposed to happen
you falling in love with chiaki that is, you already knew she was different than the other ‘characters’
she was an a.i, everything she is supposed to think was programmed thanks to you and team danganronpa
but being apart of the game is different than observing it, and as time went on you grew closer to chiaki then eventually, you fell in love with her
you were ‘helping’ her and hajime try to end the game telling yourself it was for the ratings and the fans who love to see the characters in despair
yet you started to feel extremely guilty for lying to the girl you loved and your friends
so to clear everything up you told chiaki that you wanted to speak to her
it was after 10pm when chiaki showed up to your cottage
“you wanted to speak to me s/o? is this about the traitor,”
“umm no chiaki, there’s something that i want to confess,”
chiaki pauses her game giving you her full attention, then you tell her the real reason why all of you are here
and of course, she didn’t believe you, why would she believe that she and everyone else here was a product of entertainment
“you’re the mastermind… aren’t you?”
“n-no! not technically…”
“end the game! why do you want people to die?”
“i’m sorry, chiaki- the game won’t end until there are only two survivors left.”
she leaves you in your cottage alone, not listening to another word you had to say
you stay in silence, falling into despair as you knew who the next blackened was gonna be
s/o doesn’t work for team danganronpa™️
you weren’t even sure how you figured this out
but somehow you did and it sickened you
there were people out here, who found teenagers fighting for their lives entertaining?
absolutely disgusting
you weren’t even sure how everyone would react if you told them
and on top of that, you don’t know if someone was secretly working with them
so the first person you wanted to tell was the only one you could trust. chiaki.
so you pull her into your bathroom, the only place where there are no cameras and tell her everything you knew
chiaki doesn’t want anyone else to die, so you both plan a way to end this ‘show’
yet you were unaware that your lives in this game were already planned out for you and the girl you loved was about to be executed right in front of you
“don’t give up s/o, find the truth and escape with everyone else. promise me.”
“i promise chiaki, i love you”
“i love you too s/o”
and there was nothing you could do but live up to your promise
Tumblr media
——— kokichi ouma
s/o works for team danganronpa™️
you and tsumugi were working together both acting as masterminds
we both know that kokichi’s main goal was to weed out the mastermind
so after gonta’s death and kokichi revealing himself as the mastermind you and tsumugi were in a tough spot
but unbeknownst to your partner, you had grown close to kokichi
you could relate to him on many things, at first it was for the ratings but soon enough you actually fell in love with him, and you when you confessed he accepted in his own way.
so you really did hope that he would listen to you
yet you couldn’t have been more wrong
you went to where kokichi was keeping kaito hostage
yet when you came in, he said you should hate him since he was the mastermind
but that’s when you told him you knew that he wasn’t
and just by the look on your face, he knew what you ment
you told him about you working with team danganronpa and how all of this was for entertainment for the real world he just laughed at you
“neeheehee~ and i thought i was a good liar s/o”
you wasn’t sure if he believed everything you said, he didn’t crack from his usual facade
even though he wasn’t showing you, kokichi was hurt and felt betrayed
he felt like you were the only person he could trust and it crushed him to know that you were lying to him and everyone else this whole time
s/o doesn’t work for team danganronpa™️
tsumugi did everything she could to tie up any loose ends
or…she thought she did
but somehow you found the secret passageway in the bathroom the led to the library
and that’s where you found all the documents titled danganronpa
you all wanted to participate in this?
that’s not true why would you want your friends to die?
so you grabbed all the documents, running to the only person you believe you can trust. kokichi.
you tell him everything you found in the documents and he first brushes it off as a lie
“s/o you’re not a good liar.”
but your face didn’t change and that’s when he started to take what you said seriously
you wanted to let everyone else know about your findings but kokichi tells you that if you found it in the school, someone here is working with team danganronpa
but what you two didn’t realize, that there were very little cameras watching everything around the school so the mastermind already knew what you two were planning
and just like with rantaro, tsumugi steps in
with the deaths of angie and tenko, there was you all blamed on korekiyo (srry bby <3)
kokichi knew that it wasn’t him, he was with you most of the time. so he knew that it was the work of the mastermind
that’s when he began his plan to end the game once and for all
Tumblr media
——— nagito komaeda
s/o works for team danganronpa™️
nagito claims that he had planted bombs all around the island to find the traitor
you knew that the traitor wasn’t a bad person this time, you wrote it.
it was to put a spin on the original game and bring in more ratings
yet your role in the game was to be close to the main antagonist, nagito, but you didn’t expect to get into a relationship with him
he tells you and everyone else to go find the bombs and he’ll stay in the dining area just in case the traitor wanted to come out
but after everyone dispersed you went back into the dining room
the guilt of lying to him was consuming you, he just wanted hope to win and you being there it was almost impossible
“s/o, my shimmering hope, you’re the traitor? that’s a surprise”
“no i’m not the traitor- but there is something i need to tell you”
you explain to him why you were truly here and how you created this killing game
when you finish, nagito just laughs for a while before responding
“of course trash like me doesn’t deserve someone filled with hope and instead, have someone filled with despair, like you.”
nagito didn’t want to believe that you were who you said but after completing the dead room he knew the truth about everything
of course he burned the evidence so no one else would find it
but you came here and confess to him which hit him with the harsh reality
everyone were the remnants of despair besides the traitor and you, but you… we’re the epitome of despair
s/o doesn’t work for team danganronpa™️
once again, you weren’t sure how you figured this out
this despair you were all feeling, was for someone else?!
you felt sick
so the first person you tell is nagito, you trusted him and he was fighting for hope
he should know what to do
when you tell him what you discovered, he believes you!
you were his hope and he knew the only thing you and everyone else wanted was to end this game once and for all
you both planned what to do next, the real world was fulfilled with despair, is that really a place you’d want to go to?
“team danganronpa…? should we tell anyone else about this? hajime? chiaki?” -s/o
nagito disregards what you say, muttering something about hajime. did he know something you didn’t?
however, you couldn’t plan for what came next, nagito tell you not to worry and that he’ll handle it from this point on
it felt so trustworthy but when he revealed his plan to blow up the entire island you knew you had to step in
nagito was nowhere to be found, you all had to split up and look for him
yet when the factory filled with monokuma merch caught on fire you had a sick feeling in your stomach
and when you and the rest of the survivors could go in, there was your worse fear.
nagito was dead and someone killed him
all of your lives in this game was planned out for you and no matter how hard you all tried you would have to give into despair sooner or later.

Pff oh my god I’m so sorry it corrected to Momota, I meant Oumota once again apologies for the inconvenience!
Ayyye I gotchu: autocorrect is a bitch!
I forgot how much I enjoy writing Kokichi even though he’s not a favorite character so I’m interested to give him a different Vibe for this one
We got non-despair AU once again cuz of course we do; this is specifically some sort of College AU cuz I imagined them matching on tinder as how they met lmao
🌻🌻🌻
Kaito was brought out of sleep in a bit of a haze.
There was a tight grip on his arm that absolutely was not there when he drifted off.
He groggily turned his head over his shoulder and saw pale hands clutching his skin, leading to a trembling body of the guy he’s been seeing, face buried in his own arms.
Huh, he’s still here, Kaito thought, then he started waking up a bit more, Shit; did something happen?
As Kaito started quickly moving to sit up in his bed, Kokichi yelped and instantly retracted his clutch. “Hey, what’s going on?” Kaito asked, shaking out the arm that was losing blood flow.
“What are you talking about?” Kokichi replied with snarky hitched laughter
“You were practically assaulting my arm—“
“And?”
“You’re handsy, but never like that.”
They catch each other off-guard a lot. It keeps things interesting.
First, it was their height difference. Kokichi’s profile had absolutely no indiciation of his height.
Then, they kept talking to each other after they hooked up once, surprising both of them.
Kaito is stunned with how much thought Kokichi put into his seemingly spontaneous spurts of chaos— like rearranging store displays for “no reason”, or saving old jars from condiments to drink smoothies from in public.
Kokichi is always taken aback by how observant Kaito is. How Kaito notices little things about him— stuff that normally flies under the radar. Maybe that’s why they’ve been sticking together.
“Kokichi, come on,” Kaito insisted, “Talk to me.”
And Kokichi HATES this. He hates showing emotion in front of people. He hates being perceived as anything but fun and spontaneous and energetic. His chest gets tight and he feels like he’s going to puke; his body hates that he lies about this so much but his brain can’t handle being pitied or being coddled.
So it’s easier to just lie.
“I was trying to kill you,” Kokichi declared with a grin, batting his eyes
Kaito stared at him— a little slack jawed— for a few moments before furrowing his brow and looking him in the eye
“Shut the fuck up; no you weren’t.”
“How do you know??”
“Because you lie for kicks.”
They’ve only been seeing each other for like three weeks and Kaito is already figuring him out.
“If I cut off circulation to your arm, you’d certainly at least die from shock,” Kokichi persevered, grinning through his facade.
“Hey, if you really were trying to kill me,” Kaito explained, “You wouldn’t have told me, or I’d already be dead.”
Well shit. Now what? Kokichi’s grin widened and tightened and twisted to give him time to come up with another way to deflect.
But Kaito kept talking, “I know you’re not a killer. You’re a nuisance, but you’re not a killer.”
Through his contorted smile he noticed Kaito was smiling, too. What is it about this guy— who was supposed to be a one-night-stand— that makes Kokichi feel so...so...
Kaito sighed and put the arm with blood flowing normally once again around Kokichi, and Kokichi tensed up.
“You don’t HAVE to tell me anything, you know?” Kokichi looked up at him, “I just got worried about you.”
Kokichi doesn’t remember the last time someone said that to him. Fine. Kaito wins... whether Kokichi wanted him to or not.
“I...” saying the honest truth felt like swallowing tacks, “I had a bad dream. That’s all.”
Now that it’s out in the open, Kokichi’s heart was failing him. The beat wasn’t steady and he folded his arms across his chest to hide his sweating palms.
And that feeling of nausea came back when he heard Kaito exhale a laugh. “If you don’t want me to lie to you about shit don’t fucking laugh at me,” Kokichi choked out
“Hey, I’m sorry; it’s sweet,” Kaito said through his laughter
“What?”
“It’s sweet that you were a little hesitant but still trust me.”
Huh. Kokichi never thought about it like that. Trust. Kokichi always considered himself to be someone who doesn’t trust easily. But as he realized he had settled into Kaito’s arms, and Kaito’s thumb was brushing his skin, and he felt like he was going to cry... yeah. Yeah, he trusts him.
It feels... different. It feels... nice. “Oh. Sorry,” Kokichi muttered, allowing himself to hold Kaito’s hand
“What are you sorry for? I was a dick, not you—“
“I’m sorry for assuming you were gonna make fun of me,” he could feel Kaito’s gaze, but couldn’t get himself to look back
“Why would I make fun of you for that?” Kaito chuckled, squeezing Kokichi’s shoulder, “I’ve got better things to make fun of you for, anyway!”
Kokichi was smiling again. “Oh yeah? Try me.”
“Well first of all,” Kaito boisterously began, “Your hair reminds me of an emo middle schooler from 2008.”
“OH, you’re gonna talk to ME about hair?” Now Kokichi turned to face him, his smile back into a grin that now felt light and easy, “1999 called and their boy bands are missing their hair gel because SOMEONE stole it all!”
And he wrapped his legs over Kaito’s lap, hugging his knees as he continued to jest, laughing with each other in the moonlight leaking through Kaito’s apartment window blinds.
If you enjoy my work, you can buy me a Ko-Fi if you’re able! 💛 Fics will always be free; this is just an additional way to support me

v3 girls x SHSL Toy Maker
Kaede Akamatsu:
·       Your girlfriend loved your toys. She’d always gush over them and would so happily watch as you worked away on any project without a care in the world. Her favorites though were the wooden ones, just seeing how you chiseled, sanded and worked with the wood was just so interesting to her.
·       Obviously, you gave her a toy piano for her birthday once, and it immediately was her most cherished possession. It was tiny, just big enough to be played with one hand, so Kaede took it wherever she went, keeping it close as a reminder of you and her most favorite thing in the world. It actually took her quite a bit of time to get used to it, but once she had mastered it, she’d play it whenever she wanted should there not be a piano around.
·       “Hey, how’s my pianist do- oh?” As you entered the dressing room you found Kaede playing you little toy piano. “Ah, Y/N! I thought no one aside from the performers were allowed backstage.” “Yeah… but who ever said I wouldn’t break the rules. I just had to come see you before the recital!” You eagerly sat beside her, just needing to get closer to that entrancing smile. “Getting in some extra practice before the big performance?” “Actually, no.” “Hmm?” She sheepishly laughed, holding your little piano close. “Just calming my nerves. Since I thought I couldn’t have you by my side, I started playing your piano. It’s helped a lot.” It became a tradition for Kaede to play you piano before any performance. It was able to calm her no matter what song she played on it.
·       Whenever it was out of tune, even just a little she’d immediately take it to you for repairs. It was usually a quick fix, but she still loved watching you work away on repairing it.
·       You also began making little music boxes for yourself. Though not pianos, you placed in Kaede’s favorite songs and before going to sleep, would wind one and have it play should the pair of you be apart. Sometime you’d even send her one so she’d know you were thinking of her.
    Kirumi Tojo:
·       Like for everyone else, she wanted to be our maid and assist you in whatever way she could and help you become even greater than you already were. “Oh, uh… Sorry, but I don’t need anything. I won’t want much either. I’ve heard how people you work for become amazing and stuff, but… I’m happy with my simply life. I don’t want it to get any greater than this. Honestly, only reason I came to Hope’s Peak is so I’d have an excuse to make more toys without my guardians telling me to study more. I’d be happy to be your friend though! Are there any toys you liked as a kid, I know I could make a nice one for you!” On occasion you’d amuse Kirumi and accept her assistance, but for the most part you’d simply decline and ask if you could make anything for her.
·       Kirumi truly just enjoyed helping others, there was nothing else she wanted so it seemed no toy would be of satisfaction to her, only after getting together did you finally come up with something. “A doll?” “Yeah! If somehow you can’t find anything to do for anyone, you can serve the doll. Its pockets are filled with requests for you to do for it, and if this doesn’t feel like real requests to do for you, I request that you care for the doll when you have nothing else to take care of!” “I will do my utmost to fulfill your wish.” You didn’t think Kirumi would actually play with the doll, but the smile on her face at finally receiving a request from you was enough to make you know it was worth it.
·       Surprisingly on occasion you would see Kirumi entertaining the doll, whether it be it be having tea parties, or one of the many other requests you had written down. You eventually found out that no matter where Kirumi went, she took the doll with her in case she had a moment of free time she could dedicate to it. You were her partner after all, though she did so for everyone, for you especially she wanted to complete your requests to the best of her abilities. And thought it never came up in conversation, she always had it around because she liked having something you had placed so much time and effort into just for her nearby.
   Himiko Yumeno:
·       Both being entertainers of sorts you both immediately clicked, you both loved making others smile and bringing joy to them through your work.
·       Not only did you and Himiko become romantic partners but business partners as well, you making and selling various toys based off of Himiko, her magic, and of her ‘familiar’ as well. They were a big hit with both children and adults. Sometimes you and Himiko would have long discussions bouncing ideas off one another about what toys to make next. An action figure? A wand? Perhaps some stuffies or a magic broom stick? On occasion one of you would start to go more abstract like suggest something like a pinball machine or soundboard, maybe even a skateboard. Sometimes it became a sort of competition for who could come up with the most outlandish, yet realistic and feasible items to make and sell.
·       Often you’d spend your time whittling away making toys for Himiko, she rather enjoyed them, no matter what they may be. She also liked watching you make them. You were so skilled with those fingers and many other things like woodworking, sewing, painting, and other such things. Sometimes she’d toy with the idea of you being her assistant.
·       You always had Himiko test your toys to make sure they worked properly if they were more electronic in nature or some such.
·       You both liked doing whatever you could to support one another through your own pursuits, you were simply great partners for one another.
   Maki Harukawa:
·       Being with you always felt… nostalgic to her, especially when you made toys for younger children. How you were so tender, kind, and respectful to them, you reminded her of how many of the older kids at the orphanage acted when they weren’t tired and annoyed at having to be babysitters all the time.
·       You had taken to making and donating toys to orphanages, mostly to the one Maki was from though. You were only one person so you couldn’t make many too quickly, but what you did make was durable and could last for several generations while still being fun and not needing too much maintenance.
·       You also gave Maki toys on occasion and would play with them with her. Since she had to spend most of her childhood training you wanted to give her a little something to let her indulge in just being carefree for a time. She cherished these gifts and moments almost more than anything else. Being with you was always just so nice and peaceful.
·       You taught Maki a few things like how to sew. It took a long time, there were many failed attempts and bleeding fingers, but she eventually got the hang of it. She’d sometimes help you with your projects or even repair some of the kids’ clothes, it started with simple things like you asking her to connect two basic pieces or her adding a patch to some pants, eventually though she was able to do more complicated things. She made a doll for you and a few for the kids. In return for all that you had taught her, Maki would teach you self-defense. Though unlikely it was not impossible for a person to attack you one day so she wanted you to be safe. In her line of work, she couldn’t be attached to anyone, but now you and Kaito and Shuichi and others were in your life, she had connections to people she wanted to be around, so even if it wasn’t much, even if it wasn’t enough to save you should you become an assassin’s target, you could at least not be too troubled by our average crook.
·       You were her irreplaceable partner, she adored you, and for as long as she could, she’d keep you as close as she could, just making little toys with you.
   Tenko Chabashira:
·       She adored everything you made, gushing over how adorable it all was. And she showed every last toy off, much to your embarrassment at times. She was rather loud with her affection, making it so that the whole world knew. Even complete strangers would know the pair of you were partners and that according to your girlfriend, you made the best toys the world had ever known.
·       Often Tenko would drag Himiko into testing your latest creations in order to make sure they worked correctly.
·       Tenko insisted that you teach her how to make toys and she teach you Neo Akkido. She’d say that learning her form of Akkido would help you be a better toy maker, and her learning how to make toys would help her improve her Neo Akkido.  You had no idea how in the world this could work, but just about any excuse to spend more time with your girlfriend was a good excuse in your book, so you eagerly agreed…
·       The training was much more than you expected. She didn’t teach you anything and just went straight to fighting you full force, and you just had to make up your own form to keep up and avoid getting too injured, but you did learn how to fight so her training did work.
·       You were much more gentle when it came to teaching her though her energy and enthusiasm could cause problems at times like accidentally knocking over items and the like. At least it was still fun.
·       Being together could be rather chaotic at times, but it was well worth it.
   Tsumugi Shirogane:
·       Your friendship began with a bet and through it a more romantic relationship bloomed. Tsumugi was showing off a very expensive, limited edition figure she had just gotten in the mail. “Wait, how expensive? But it’s so cheap! You should get your money back, or at least at a discounted price.” Obviously, this comment ticked off the girl, and a bet was made, if you could make a figure of the same character of higher quality that could simultaneously be less expensive from the cost of materials, you prove your point, if not you’d have to apologize to Tsumugi.
·       Not only did you win the bet, Tsumugi absolutely loving your figure, but you had also accidentally won her heart in the process.
·       Tsumugi still bought merchandise of her favorite anime and you always made such things for her despite that, though she did teach you why the official merchandise was so important to her. Often you’d end up analyzing the items whether they still be in the package or not, differing what it’s true price would be without the brand association. If it didn’t match you’d make your own version for Tsumugi which happened more often than not, but the few times you deemed the product worth the price it was a pleasant surprise.
·       Being deft at sewing and many other skills you often assisted Tsumugi in making her cosplays! She even convinced you to indulge in her passion as well. You much preferred making them, and seeing others wear them, but play-acting as the characters could be fun.
·       Sometimes when Tsumugi was at cons or other such similar events, she’d send you toy she found that you might like or might inspire your work. She’d also send you materials for your work, maybe even have you keep some for her own work.
·       Sometimes you’d watch whatever anime Tsumugi was most recently obsessed with when she was away. It was something to remind you of her in particularly lonely moments. Tsumugi would do something similar, play with the toys you had given her.
·       Though things could be rocky on occasion, you were able to work things out and you couldn’t want for another partner.
   Angie Yonaga:
·       “Oh my, how divine! I’m sure Atua has blessed you for such wondrous art!”
·       Angie completely adored and whole heartedly loved your toys, always calling them your art. Whenever she found you working, she always left you be as to not distract you, knowing she’d want you to do the same if she were working on her art. She’d even go out of her way to get more materials for you if she had noticed if you were starting to run low or if you were using one particular material a lot for a time. If any of your tools broke or needed repair, she already knew just the place to get another one of high quality.
·       As one ‘blessed by Atua’ you were the only person she allowed to be in the same room with her as she worked, as long as you were working as well. This was for two reasons, one, to not distract her and two, so that Atua may take possession of you too and help make your creations even more wonderful!
·       Though she never needed inspiration, because she had Atua, she would go walking around town with you to do whatever, giving you a new change of pace, which would hopefully help you get out of your rut and be filled with new creativity to create more!
·       Even with her colorful background, she understood you more than most others ever could when it came to your work. She would do anything to assist you, because aside from her god, you were the person she loved most.
   Miu Iruma:
·       “Hey, you’re the toy maker, right?” “Yes?” “You can make adult toys, right?” “What do you take me for!?... Of course I can!” “Oh ho ho, This’ll be fun!”
·       Miu was certainly an interesting client turned partner. Whatever you made, she wanted to add improvements to it, no matter how off the wall it may be. She was in inventor after all so tinkering with toys likely just came naturally to her.
·       What you did find surprising though is that she never wanted you to make anything sexual for her. She never admitted it directly, but she always just wanted normal toys. Model train sets, bouncy balls, remote control cars, simple things like those. Often, she’d end up ‘enhancing’ them in her own way, yet still, she wouldn’t ask for anything else. For as lewd and crude as she could be there was something about her that was also young at heart in a way, in fact that could be why she was so loud and overconfident much of the time. But then you’d remember that you’re teenagers and you were sounding like an older person with this line of thinking and would stop yourself.
·       Miu would insist on working in her lab so she could make tweaks to your designs as you were making them. Things usually got out of hand like making a toy robot that could turn into a cannon and shoot fireworks, or it’d have rocket fists powerful enough to knock out a full grown, healthy adult. Not long after making such items Kokichi would pop up, asking to borrow your toys, and who were you to deny him, toys were meant to be played with, and inevitably not long later you’d hear of Kokichi’s latest prank involving whatever toy Kokichi had borrowed from you and Miu, often getting a laugh out of her.
·       Things usually got out of hand rather quickly when you were with one another, but it was a fun, calm sort of chaos

Hogwarts AU
(AKA another shiny distraction my brain latched onto, but I’m not writing this one bc 1. it’s already too long and 2. Valentine’s AU is already my wip bad idea one-shot of the month(s) lol.)
Half ficlet/half random plot points.
4K words
First and foremost: Madara is a Hufflepuff. Seriously. The heir of the Uchiha, a well-known pure-blood Slytherin family*, has the hat on his head for half a second before it’s yelling Hufflepuff. Madara’s family is the single most important thing to him and he will protect them no matter the cost. That loyalty triumphs even a desire for power.
His house mates are terrified of him. In the first-year Madara’s mostly quiet and homesick so he’s a loner. He hasn’t done anything to deserve his reputation but he’s an Uchiha in Hufflepuff. It’s the talk of the town for weeks. That all changes in his second year when Kaito gets put in Gryffindor. Despite Kou being a former Gryffindor, he gets bullied and told he doesn’t belong in his house. Madara gets in five separate duels in the span of two weeks, manages to win despite the bullies being fourth and fifth years and one time doesn’t even wait for wands to be drawn before he starts swinging at one of them. His reputation is well-deserved now and he absolutely does not care as long as the Gryffindors are terrified he’s going to appear behind them if they so much look at his brother wrong. Kaito is resigned, expecting nothing less, but does manage to make friends with two muggleborns.
*The main Uchiha branch, before Madara’s generation, were one of the most pure-bred families and could trace a completely Slytherin legacy back to the beginning (though there were always rumors that a Veela or two intermarried.) And then Tajima fell head over heels for an extremely powerful muggleborn Gryffindor. The extended family was not pleased. To put it mildly. The heir is a half-blood and a Hufflepuff and the second eldest a Gryffindor. But at least Tajima didn’t marry a Senju, the family consoled themselves...
And speaking of, in his second year Madara also meets Hashirama. Hashirama, who is a Slytherin. He loves his family more than anything too but sees power and charm as the best way to protect them in the long run. Similar to Madara, he’s from a well-known family but the Senju before him had, at times, married half-bloods and muggleborns, but always were Gryffindors. Hashirama’s “defection” to Slytherin was not well-looked upon by his family, his house, or the house he was “supposed” to be in. He’s friendly and charming which is slowly winning people over, and incredibly powerful for his age. His and Madara’s first meeting is in the Forbidden Forest. Hashirama was out after hours looking for special plants, while Madara was out trying to spot a hippogriff. They run into each other and are very wary, but since they’re both second-years and they’re both breaking the rules...it’s not like one of them is in a “better” position than the other. Though with how many detentions Madara’s had for fighting his punishment would probably be more severe.
Somehow they manage to run into each other three separate times, before the incident happens. The incident being stumbling upon a dead hippogriff and her one newly cracked egg with an injured newborn. Madara sees the baby, the dead mother, grabs it and tries to run back to the school. Punishment be damned, it won’t survive and he doesn’t know healing spells. Only to run smack-dab into Hashirama who’s been gathering herbs and happens to know healing spells. Madara sucks up his pride, and wants to avoid detention, and asks for his help. Together, Hashirama heals the hippogriff while Madara goes to find it something to eat. They spend hours with the baby together, but they don’t know what to do with after. So Madara, in his 12 year old wisdom, decides to take it into the castle. Due to the sheer terror of his presence, he and Hashirama manage to keep it hidden between them for three days. When it eventually gets discovered, both boys get punished with a week-long detention and that’s the start of their friendship. They’re pretty inseparable after that and it’s comical, from a distance, to see a scowling Hufflepuff and a sunny Slytherin walking side by side. Not a lot of their interests overlap, but they’re both waaaay too into dueling, join the dueling club, and quickly rise to the top of their year until the other kids really don’t want to go up against either one.
They’re each others first real friend. Madara is stubborn and, let’s be real socially obliviousness enough, that he sticks with Hashirama no matter how many barbed comments come from the Slytherins, Gryffindors, or anyone else. Madara’s terrifying reputation has no effect on Hashirama, his first serious interaction with Madara was seeing him near tears holding an injured baby hippogriff after all, so his prickly demeanor and scowls don’t faze Hashirama.
Third year starts and Tobirama and Izuna are placed. Tobirama in Ravenclaw, and Izuna joins Madara in Hufflepuff. Tobirama tried to argue with the hat to place him in Gryffindor to please Butsuma, but that’s not happening. Izuna, similarly dedicated to family, isn’t a surprise to Madara but freaks the school out that there’s a second Uchiha in Hufflepuff and expect him to be like Madara. Izuna’s not. He’s sweet and innocent, and a terrible little prankster who no one suspects or can hold a grudge against. He’s also a little jealous of Hashirama for taking up his brother’s time and starts to wage a cold war against him. Hashirama thinks Izuna is adorable and it’s cute that he loves Madara so much, but like hell Hashirama is giving up his BFF. Tobirama thinks his brother is being childish and questions why he’s even friends with Madara in the first place, given Madara’s reputation and the fact that he still gets into fights though not as often. Kaito pretends he doesn’t know them, and only hangs out with Madara at school when Izuna and Hashirama aren’t around.
Fourth year starts, Yuuto, Reo, and Kawarama start their first year. Yuuto and Reo live up to the Uchiha name and are placed in Slytherin. They’re also Izuna on steroids when it comes to pranks, set up a prank business based on favors, and insert themselves as agents of chaos in the ongoing cold war between Hashirama and Izuna. They tell Hashirama it’s all about ‘house solidarity’ with matching sinister grins and Hashirama knows he’s walking into some ongoing sibling thing in the Uchiha family. Still, he accepts their help and in response Izuna ropes an unwilling Tobirama into his schemes. Madara is still oblivious. Kawarama also lives up to the Senju name and gets placed in Gryffindor. Ironically, he looks up to Kaito as one of the ‘best’ example of a Gryffindor, and starts to follow him around like a duckling. Kaito’s first pearl of wisdom is to avoid their brothers, unless they’re alone, or all together.
Fifth year starts and Itama is the last Senju to enroll. He gets placed into Hufflepuff and is absolutely terrified of the two older Uchiha in his house. Hashirama tries for a week to rope him into his and Izuna’s war and Itama blanches at the idea of acting like a spy, despite Hashirama’s protests that it’s not spying per se, it’s just keeping a very close eye on Izuna so Hashirama can get a leg up. Itama joins Kaito and Kawarama in the camp of “this is not my problem to deal with” and feels better about it even though it still means dealing with (another) Uchiha. Tobirama desperately wishes he was part of that camp. It all comes to a head before the Yule Ball. (I know it’s a Tri-Wizard tournament thing, but I want to use it.) Tobirama, fed up of Hashirama needling him, tells him if he wants a guaranteed night of uninterrupted peace where Madara’s attention is fully on him, just ask him to the Ball, third-years can’t attend. Tobirama was being sarcastic, but Hashirama takes the idea and runs with it. Runs all the way to Madara to immediately ask him on the spot. Madara who’s with Izuna. Who says yes with only a little bluster and two high spots of color on his cheeks.
Hashirama is ecstatic. He is over the moon and Tobirama is regretting every single life choice that brought him to this moment. Over the next month he bothers all of his brothers, ‘should I cut my hair?’ ‘which haircut looks better?’ ‘do I need to get new dress robes?’ ‘which style do you think Madara would like best?’ ‘how does this cologne smell?’ ‘which kind of breathmint smells better?’ He asks Tobirama the last one and gets met with a scathing look and a silencing hex that seals his mouth shut for the next two hours. Itama is still paralyzed at the thought of Madara so Kawarama ends up being the one Hashirama hounds the most. Kaito also gets dragged in as a ‘Madara expert’ bc he’s with Kawarama a lot.
The night of the Yule Ball comes and Hashirama, with uncut hair, new robes and cologne, and the fanciest kind of ten varieties of breathmint, sets out for his totally-not-a-date. Only to met with Yuuto on the stairs who wishes him luck. Hashirama thanks him and Reo, standing behind him immediately knocks him out with a stunning spell. They strip him of his fancy robes, tie him up, and leave him in a closet. Outside Slytherin’s dungeon entrance, Izuna’s waiting impatiently. The twins appear with a flourish, Hashirama’s robes in Reo’s hand and a polyjuice in potion in Yuuto’s. Family special. When Hashirama asked his brother out on a date right in front of him, it was time for Izuna to get serious. Even if meant sucking up his pride and asking his younger brothers for help. Yuuto and Reo like Hashirama but the chance to rub this in Izuna’s face forever? Him being eternally in their debt? So worth it.
Izuna takes the potion and clothes and meets up with Madara as “Hashirama”. He has one plan. Make Madara see how insufferable Hashirama is, so he stops spending every free moment with him and instead spends more time with his family. First he’s late and shrugs it off whenever Madara asks. They go to the Ball and “Hashirama” ignores Madara. Barely responds whenever he speaks or constantly interrupts him and talks over him. Dances with other people and the one time Madara mutters that he wouldn’t mind dancing, says he’s too tired and retreats to the snack table. Internally, Izuna feels equal parts thrilled and guilty. His plan is working perfectly, but he feels a bit bad he’s putting his brother through this, even though it’ll be better in the long run. He doesn’t even have to try and ignore him in the later half of the night, Madara sits by himself in a corner and won’t even look at or speak to “Hashirama.” They leave the Ball early and barely round two hallways, only the barest cover of ‘privacy’ before Madara whirls on him and starts yelling about how embarrassing and humiliating the entire experience was and why did he even ask him out if this was how he was going to act? Izuna sees the final nail in the coffin and and says he was confused and thought he liked Madara like that but decided he didn’t. He didn’t want to go to the Ball together, but he couldn’t think of a good way to tell Madara before. Izuna expects anger. Expects to see Madara’s infamous short temper and has prepared to flee with three distinct escape routes in mind in case his brother pulls out his wand.
He doesn’t expect Madara’s face to collapse in devastation. Or worse for his eyes to turn shiny with tears before he spins and starts stalking away. Izuna realizes how bad he’s messed up and tries to stop Madara. But the infamous temper sparks now, and he’s barely touched his shoulder before Madara’s turning and slamming his fist into “Hashirama’s” face. Izuna drops, unused to the pain and with a choked snarl not to follow him, Madara flees.
After a minute or two, Izuna picks himself up and dusts himself off. Only to immediately get shoved up against the stone walls as the real Hashirama comes flying around the corner, dressed in his undershirt and pants. He’s furious and for the first time in his life Izuna is actually scared of him. Hashirama demands to know where Madara is and what Izuna did. Izuna explains, in half-formed sentences, feeling like he’s about to cry. The more he says, the paler Hashirama gets until now he’s the one tearing up but his face is still twisted in rage. He yells at Izuna, how he would never do or say any of that, how important Madara is to him and how much he was looking forward to tonight. Izuna’s crying now, mumbling out apologies, and other partygoers are starting to happen upon them and see the very confusing sight of Senju Hashirama shoving Senju Hashirama up against a wall.
Hashirama drops him and tells him to go back to his dorm while he takes off after Madara. There is a chance Madara went back to his dorm but it’s unlikely. He doesn’t like to be around people when he’s upset. Hashirama checks the owlery, he peers into the magical creatures’ enclosure, he’s considering going into the Forbidden Forest or trying to get on a broom to check the skies, when he spots the greenhouse’s door cracked open. He creeps closer and hears someone sniffling inside. Peering around the corner, he can barely make out Madara’s dark form. It’s only because he’s sitting under the moon lilies in Hashirama’s portioned off area of the greenhouse he can see him at all.
Hashirama stumbles in as Madara looks up and yells at him to leave. Hashirama sees the tear tracks on Madara’s face and immediately starts sobbing himself. He moves closer despite Madara’s protests and eventually gets the full story out. Madara doesn’t yell at him to leave again and together they sit in silence under Hashirama’s moon lilies until he can’t take it and moves even closer, grabbing Madara’s hand. He doesn’t have his mints and his breath is still hitching from crying so hard, but he learns forward and kisses him. For one moment, Madara doesn’t respond and Hashirama thinks the night is going to get even worse before he finally reacts and kisses back.
They’re curled together under the moon lilies until the sun rises and the flowers wilt. Both of them are exhausted, but neither wanted to leave and burst their little bubble of peace. It lasts until a harried professor walks into the greenhouse and spots them. When neither returned to the castle, Izuna panicked and thought they were hurt so he told a teacher and the entire staff has been searching for them for a better part of the night.
Parents are called and there’s a conference. Tajima, Kou, and Butsuma can barely be in the same room together without wands or fists coming out. Soroko is sitting in the middle of it, trying to actually figure out why they were called in. Everything eventually comes out and Yuuto, Reo, and Izuna are punished for attacking another student, creating a polyjuice potion, and impersonating a student. Butsuma is torn between fury that three Uchiha attacked his son, and irritation that their ultimate goal, to separate Madara and Hashirama, failed.
And fail it did. If they were joined at the hip before, it’s nothing compared to now. The rest of their fifth year was a bit rocky with family dynamics. Izuna does apologize to both, but Madara’s disappointed and Hashirama’s not quick to forgive in this situation. Neither are happy with the twins either, but they were opportunistic rather than the masterminds. By the end of the year the worst has been smoothed over but Hashirama and Izuna still have an uneasy relationship. In groups, they’re fine, but it gets awkward fast if it’s just the two of them.
Sixth year starts and Hashirama and Madara are officially dating. The extended Uchiha family mourn, it’s Tajima all over again, and the Senju have to reckon with an unlikely friendship becoming an unlikely romance. And hopefully it’s just a teenage fling, but with the way Hashirama talks about their future after school, each career choice changing depending on the month but always the two of them together worries the Senju. There’s an attempt to arrange an engagement between Hashirama and Uzumaki Mito, a Ravenclaw who transferred in their third year, but it falls apart quickly.
Seventh year starts and those far off plans becomes reality as they pass their NEWTS and graduate. They spend a few years in a professional dueling league before eventually inheriting their fathers’ spots in the government. It’s a...bit awkward for the extended family bc they still hate each other but the heads of their houses are married and live together. In their spare time, Madara fosters and rehabilitates injured magical birds and Hashirama has a garden that is less of a garden and more of a forest with a lot of (illegal) magical plants. Tobirama is an arthimancer but dabbles in potions and he threatens to report his brother every week, but comes to collect rare ingredients because the shops never have the same quality. Izuna gets a respectable job in the Department of Mysteries, but moonlights as a diviner that reads people’s fortunes and scams them out of their money. Kaito has no interest in politics and is the only person in the history of hogwarts who wants to willingly teach history of magic. Kawarama becomes a defense lawyer in the wizengamont and is notorious for bringing up loopholes and obscure magical laws that haven’t been used since 1632. Yuuto and Reo open their prank shop...and low-key revive the wizard mafia. They always know someone, somewhere that somehow owes one of them a favor. They never get into politics and everyone, including the extended Uchiha family, are glad.
Misc. Facts about this AU
Kou’s abnormal power in this AU is that she cannot use a wand. She was taken wand shopping but all of them eventually...exploded. Kou’s magic reacted negatively with other magical focuses and she relies completely on wandless magic. Madara inherited that natural ability from her, but his magic doesn’t react negatively with his wand. It allows him to, at the height of his power, “double-cast” once with his wand and once wandless with only a slight split second delay between them. Meanwhile Hashirama has insane stamina and a weird ability where spells just...aren’t that effective against him. They work, but never seem to be at full strength. This is great for offensive spells, not great for defensive/healing ones. Hashirama’s own magic, however, reacts normally to his body.
Tajima and Butsuma are both politicians in the Ministry of Magic and their seats are the farthest apart in the room. They were rivals in school and it continues now. They even occasionally agree on policy decisions, they just hate each other.
Madara loves flying but he was banned from the school quidditch team. Kou is a professional player and he tried some of her prohibited moves. Namely, jumping off his broom, to drop down and grab a bludger and hurl it at the enemy before recalling his broom.
Hashirama has a fear of flying. He fell off a broom as a child and gets extremely nervous when his feet don’t touch the ground. He will fly with Madara, but his eyes are close the entire time and he’s clinging to Madara’s back.
Kaito and Kawarama are best friends. Not “best friends” like Hashirama and Madara’s love-struck romance or “best friends” like Izuna and Tobirama’s frenemy status, but actual good platonic friends. Kaito made the joke that Itama could make friends with the twins and then it’d all even out. Itama takes one look at those crazy two and bursts into tears.
Itama eventually gets used to Madara. They both love magical creatures and Itama is forced to see him a lot after hours. Madara still terrifies him, but at least he treats the animals nicely. The other three Uchiha still terrify him.
Mito transferred to Hogwarts in her third year. She’s a Ravenclaw and is friendly with the Senju, especially Hashirama and Tobirama. Hashirama is an endless source of amusement for her and Tobirama balances it out with interesting ideas.
Madara has a falcon for his pet instead of an owl. He was told it wasn’t allowed and responded by saying the falcon’s name was Owl. Why can’t his Owl be allowed in school? The administration is not amused.
Soroko is the most normal and level-headed out of the Senju/Uchiha parents. She reaches out to Kou once it becomes obvious Hashirama is determined to keep Madara as his friend, despite Butsuma’s disapproval. Once they start dating Kou and Soroko start meeting regularly for tea and lunches. She also has a bit of a mischievous side and likes Yuuto and Reo best (polyjuice incident aside)
The Uchiha’s maternal muggle grandparents are still alive. They usually visit for at least two weeks every summer and there are hijinks. Tajima still can’t stand muggle newspapers and their non-moving pictures. He despises muggle cars and traffic jams and still doesn’t understand what a TV is, but can turn the channel and raise/lower the volume. However, he loves fountain pens and scandalized the entire Ministry by exclusively using them after his father-in-law got him a fancy engraved set. Kou’s parents take the invasion of magic into their space remarkably well. Madara dragged in god only knows how many freakish alien looking birds from a supposedly normal non-magical wood. Kaito, as a child, refused to go anywhere for more than a day or two without the talking portrait of great-great-great-great-great grandma Uchiha. Izuna was sweet as sugar, but insisted on trying to cast every charm he knew on their furniture and clothes to show them, despite Tajima and Kou’s repeated warnings about underage magic and not turning grandma and grandpa’s couch into a miniature version of itself. And Yuuto and Reo were causing trouble before they could walk. Countless times Kou’s parents had to tip-toe around booby-traps in their own house that would dump frogs on them, or politely put smuggled howlers at the bottom of the mail pile to deal with later. They are very patient people. Very.

I have a question for you about your opinions of Kaito. I've seen that you say he's homophobic and all that, but there is something about that statement that really bothers me. In his Love Suit Event, it heavily implies that Kaito not only has romantic feelings towards a very clear male rival, but also wants to win the plane race to earn the right to confess those romantic feelings. A lot of people see him as gay or bi coded, so I thought I'd ask what you thought about that.
I’ve been thinking about how to reply to this ask for a little while now, and I think I’ve finally got my thoughts all laid out. This isn’t meta, but my response will nonetheless be somewhat long, so I’ll be putting most of it under a read-more.
Anon, I’m really not sure what to tell you. Me saying that Momota has homophobic lines and behavior isn’t just my interpretation or opinion; it’s an actual fact that he does say homophobic/transphobic slurs in the game. Not in his FTEs, not in his love hotel or salmon mode, but in chapter 2 of the actual game, directed specifically at Korekiyo. The word specifically is “okama” (オカマ), and it has a very heavy and unfortunate history as a slur in Japan used predominantly against gay men and trans women, who as I’ve stated, are unfortunately often lumped together and assumed to be “the same thing” by cishet people.
I’ve had people spread misinformation about this slur, claiming that he used it in the chapter 3 trial instead and that that’s why he was being so derogatory to Korekiyo instead, but this is factually untrue. He uses this slur in chapter 2, well before Korekiyo murders anyone and before he’s revealed to be incestuous and a serial killer. And even if it were true, trying to justify the usage of homophobic and transphobic slurs with “well the person he was saying them to was a bad person so it’s okay” is a fundamentally flawed way of thinking.
It’s also a fact that he reacts with complete disgust and is horrified by even the idea of Saihara potentially coming on to him during one of his dates in salmon mode. He specifically says, “you don’t swing that way, do you!?” while using his most horrified sprite, and unlike the slur, the localization did more or less keep this line.
Again, there have been people who have tried to argue that this was simply because Momota was “sad at the idea of Saihara coming out without telling him first,” and again, this is factually untrue. Both the localization and the original Japanese dialogue of the game make it explicitly clear that he is completely grossed out at the idea of Saihara being attracted to him. This isn’t my personal interpretation or anything like that; it’s quite literally in the text.
I went and reread Momota’s love hotel to refresh my memory of the scene, and... I’m really not sure where you’re getting that he’s referring to a “very clear male rival.” He is certainly referring to a rival as his “ideal romantic partner,” but he never says anything at all about said rival’s gender. There’s absolutely nothing in the scene itself that ever specifies that he’s seeing Saihara as another guy.
In fact, for all that he talks quite enthusiastically about his rivalry with this person, he never once says any of his usual lines about “a man’s passion” or lectures about the way “men should behave.” Considering a good part of his interactions with most of the other male characters in ndrv3, not just Saihara, often involve him talking about what is or isn’t appropriate for a man (Hoshi’s suicidal tendencies are “effeminate” and unfitting for someone he looked up to, Gonta crying in the investigations is “unmanly,” etc.), I would actually say that it’s more likely he isn’t talking to another guy here, but this is just my speculation and it’s open to interpretation if nothing else.
However, it is a fact that just because Saihara is playing the part of his rival in his love hotel scene does not automatically mean that said rival “must be a guy.” Saihara plays the part of literally everyone’s ideal romantic partner in every single love hotel scene, and in most of them he’s very clearly being perceived differently than he actually appears. Hoshi, for example, is pretty clearly seeing Saihara through the lens of his dead girlfriend who he mentions in his FTEs, despite not ever explicitly referring to Saihara in his love hotel event as a man or a woman.
There’s no denying that Momota’s idea of romance is linked with passionate ideas about rivalry and competition, and that he likes grand gestures. But again, there is nothing in the text whatsoever about his rival being another man. That part is purely speculation, and nothing in the actual love hotel scene ever states that.
In my own opinion, I cannot agree with saying that a character who canonically uses homophobic slurs and reacts with open disgust to another guy coming on to him is “coded” to be gay or bisexual. Coding is the deliberate placement of subtle clues and details woven into the text to clue readers in that a character may be a certain sexuality or gender identity. With rare exceptions (like Mac from It’s Always Sunny, who by this point has been confirmed to be a gay man on the show), characters who use homophobic slurs aren’t usually “coded” to be gay or bi.
If anything, I feel that the trope of “homophobe who’s secretly a closeted gay man” does more harm than good to the LGBT community, implying that we’re responsible for the violence and prejudices used against ourselves. This trope also reassures other people whose prejudices and homophobia might be less outspoken that they’re not “really” showing any homophobic behavior or attitudes because they’re not outright saying slurs or showing their disgust, and leads them to assume that they’re not complicit.
I also feel that it’s worth pointing out that being a member of the LGBT community does not excuse anyone from homophobic or transphobic behavior, either. Having grown up in a highly conservative and deeply homophobic household, I understand perfectly well what it’s like to grow up closeted and repessed about your own sexuality. But brushing off the use of slurs directed at other people and saying that it’s okay because the person saying those slurs eventually came out is... not a great look, honestly. Even previously-closeted LGBT people still have to be held accountable for their behavior and for the harm they might have caused other people with their actions. There is no “free pass” for saying slurs to other people.
That being said, if people want to headcanon Momota as gay or bisexual, that’s an entirely different matter. Headcanons are separate from coding and are simply a matter of personal preference. Again, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to reclaim a character and actually show them growing from and apologizing for their past behavior. I can understand people who might relate to Momota’s better qualities, and who want to interpret his character in a positive way.
But it’s important in making these headcanons to not erase the fact that he did, canonically, say a homophobic slur, and to not speak over other LGBT people who are understandably uncomfortable with this fact. Just because the localization erased said slur entirely doesn’t change the intention of the original dialogue, and it doesn’t change the way Momota consistently reacts negatively to the idea of other men showing any sort of attraction to him that isn’t purely “bros being bros.”
I’m absolutely not trying to be harsh or dismissive here anon, and I hope I’ve been clear with that in my response. Again, if other people want to headcanon him as gay or bisexual because they love or relate to his character and want to see him grow from his flaws, that’s totally fine! But he’s in no way deliberately “coded” to be gay or bisexual when there are multiple instances of him having homophobic behavior in the actual, canon text.

Danganronpa V3 characters Most to Least likely:
to take their S/O’s side during a scrum debate, knowing their S/O is lying
Sort of an imagine + most to least likely list due to my explanation of each scenario. Warning: spoilers for the entire game throughout.
-Mod Kokichi
Kokichi Ouma - Once he’s in love with you, he’s ride or die to the point that he doesn’t care if he or the others die for you. Plus, lying at the scrum debate and winning doesn’t technically mean the trial goes poorly or that his S/O is the culprit, it’s just a step to find more evidence and weed out traitors, and that’s just how he would justify it to himself. Plus, it’s just waaaaay more fun to spice up the trial with your lies~
Kaito Momota - He chose to love you, right? So he has to believe in you. You must have a good reason for lying, he thinks, but even if you don’t, some people are just worth dying for.
Tenko Chabashira - A similar mindset to Kaito. She will trust her S/O, believing that there’s no way you could be malicious, and wanting to believe your true heart is pure to the very end. Even if she’s not confident with her decision to support you, she’s gonna yell and fight like she is.
Kaede Akamatsu - She wouldn’t choose an S/O who would lie to save themselves and let everyone else die, so if you’re lying, it must be for a good reason.
Shuichi Saihara - A mix of Kaede and Kaito’s reasoning, he believes that he chose a good person to love, and believes in your intellect. You must be lying to twist the trial in a positive way. He did point out Kaede’s lie in the first trial reluctantly, but he just had a mild crush on her...he LOVES you, and whereas Kaede asked him to expose her lie, you were clearly wanting him on your side. He just couldn’t turn against you.
Ryoma Hoshi - He wouldn’t lie for a friend or aquaintence in a trial, being a very blunt and honest guy, but if the only person in this world who gave him a reason to live and loves him needs him on their side, you’re damn right he’s going to lie for them.
Rantarou Amami - Amami isn’t a selfish guy. He’s loved many people in his life: siblings, parents, friends, previous lovers. He knows what it means to sacrifice and even though he is the Ultimate Survivor, it was because he’s good at it, not necessarily for selfish reasons. If his little sister had been throw in this killing game or the previous one he was in, he would die for her in an instant, an he would die for you. So...he trusts you. And after a bit of a shocked expression and wondering what you’re up to, he would join in and lie with you, and he’s so confident and smooth that he might just fool the majority of your classmates.
Korekiyo Shinguji - Make no mistake, Kiyo has no trouble lying on his own behalf...but for others, no. He would be very conflcited at first, even trying, subtly and gracefully, to get you to tell the truth and sweating over your lies in the trial, because deep down, he can be a very selfish person. No one has ever wanted him in their lives and he’s a loner, so self-preservation always came first. Why stick his neck out or care about people who bully/ostracize/judge him? Why see other humans as anything other than objects of beauty, precious but ultimately not as valuable as his own life, just as an artifact would be. But...you didn’t look at him like that, like he was a creep or inquire about his mask and habits. He had fallen in love with you, realizing his relationship with his sister growing up was something traumatic and not normal, very much forced on his young mind. He had to...he had to lie for you.
Tsumugi Shirogane - As the mastermind, she can easily tell where the trial is headed and can probably make Monokuma say some stupid reason or new rule for getting you out of your lies later on, so she’s willing to lie for you in the debate, putting on her innocent and naive facade, just with a new layer of lovesick.
Miu Iruma - This would go one of two ways. 1. She genuinely doesn’t know you’re lying and sides with you, barking at your opponents in your defense, or 2. She knows you’re lying and the anger behind her words thrown at your opponents is half for them for accusing you, and half for you for being a dumbass, lying little bitch who now has dragged her into this. If you both survived this trial, she would chew you out later.
Himiko Yumeno - She doesn’t want to die, but as seen in-game, she quickly loses heart when it comes to losing people she loves or being pressured. She would hesitantly tell you to stop lying and that she trusted you, so how could you act like this, but would slowly lose the will to fight and want to take your side because she loves you, even going as far as to say something like: “Nyeh...I know S/O is lying, b-but, but I’m gonna take their side until the very end, and I’m not gonna vote for them. I...I just can’t,” while trembling softly. And shame on you for making her feel that way.
Maki Harukawa - She wouldn’t associate herself with, much less date someone who lies for the wrong reasons. She would lie for you if she felt it was necessary or for the greater good or moving the trial in the right direction, but would avoid voicing her opinion in the trial altogether unless her hand is forced. Maki is more likely to call out your bullshit bluntly and in a monotone voice, before forcing you to tell the truth to the others and own up to what you did. If you were only lying to find evidence or save face, she wouldn’t even bring it up after the trial, but if your lie was to cover for you killing someone, she would close her eyes during your execution and silently pretend it didn’t hurt as much as it did, crying later when absolutely no one could see her. They would be tears of grief over losing her one true love, and tears of anger at your selfishness and her stupidity in choosing to love you.
Angie Yonaga - “Atua says it’s alwaaaays better to speak the truth!” She says while posing her hands in a praying position. You saw how she threw Himiko under the bus in the second trial, there was no way she was lying for you or dying for your stupid lie. If it was a lie to keep the trail moving, oh well, she exposed you. If you lied and died as the culprit, oh well, it is better to be with Atua anyway, and she can find other people to be around easily. Additionally, I really see Angie as aromantic or averse to real romantic relationships. I think she would see her S/O as someone who cares about her and Atua, and is easy to manipulate, but who she admits she likes spending time with more than others. Still not lying or dying for you though.
Gonta Gokuhara - the key word here is knowing his S/O is lying. If he is convinced you’re not lying even when you are, he will take your side until convinced otherwise by his friends. He loves you so very much, but gentleman don’t lie, and he believes that his S/O should always tell the truth. “S-S/O, telling lies only hurt yourself and others. Gonta knows you are good person. Only bad people lie!” He would be heartbroken that you want him to take your side and expect him to lie, and has a very the-truth-shall-set-you-free mindset. Plus, I don’t think Gonta would think so far ahead as to see that the truth may get his beloved killed. He’s thinking of the here and now, this particular conversation. And you shouldn’t be lying to your friends.
Kirumi Tojo - If Kirumi ever let herself get close enough to you to fall in love, she would still set strict boundaries for herself, and have a very professional/master and maid type relationship with you. She would comfort you more and maybe blush at your contact or flirty advances but not reciprocate too much becasue there is a part of her that keeps every relationship in her life at a arm’s length. She won’t let herself truly love. No one can break down her wall, for that’s what makes her perfect to serve unconditionally. When realizing you’re lying, because oh, she definitely would, she would close her eyes, a small frown on her face. She’s disappointed in you, but reminds herself again why she doesn’t get close to people. She sighs, exposing your lies calmly to the others with phrases a little less cold than usual, such as: “I’m sorry, S/O, but that’s not the complete truth and I can’t allow it.”
Kiibo - Simply put, no matter his feelings toward you, Kiibo knows that in this trial, lying could lead to everyone dying. A handful of friends and himself dying for a liar is just not fair. He wouldn’t lie with or for you. In the best case scenario inside his careful and analytical mind, you are exposed for lying and it was a petty lie or doesn’t mean you’re the culprit. I the worst case scenario, it leads to your death. And while he feels the closest feeling to human love he has ever felt for you, he can’t let a bunch of innocent friends die for your lie. He would miss you, and be very depressed about losing you and maybe never try to have a relationship like this again, but his decision is what was ethically and morally right.

➵ fluff, heart-warming, cute kids
✿ you found a cute teacher in your niece’s school, so maybe picking up a kid from school everyday isn’t such a bad idea.
❀ // hi! i’ve been gone for so long and finally i finished this after weeks of letting it rot in my drafts,, i don’t wanna delete this bc it feels like i’ll foresaken my angel Suga so here i hope you all enjoy my first oneshot :>
Tumblr media
word count // 3,257
of all days, you picked this day as the day to slack off.
there was no reason to doll up, you reasoned. this was your rest day. no plans were made and no places you needed to go, so you went and picked up your sister’s kid wearing your house clothes.
no biggie. a few blocks distance wouldn’t hurt your sense of insecurity. a kindergartener’s teacher also wouldn’t possibly judge how you look when you’re only out to pick a kid up from school.
today, however, was different.
everything became instinct. your fingers went up the center of your jacket, to zip it up entirely. your hands then reached down to your sweatpants, checking if you were wearing it the right way. to your hair, if there are hair strands that are where they’re supposed to be. everything became instinct so you don’t look so much like a mess
in front of this fine preschool teacher.
“i’m Futaba’s guardian.”
your throat let out the softest, shyest voice you could ever project. you found yourself shamelessly, and instinctively, acting cute in front of this fine preschool teacher.
how else were you supposed to react? his beautiful gray hair enticed you, with a fringe softly parted on the center of his forehead. his porcelain skin that put Snow White to shame, his round, brown eyes that reflected every star in the galaxy, and his smile that could win a boxing match against the sun. not to mention, the mole under his left eye definitely hit the mark.
“good afternoon, Futaba’s guardian-san.”
hearing his voice for the first time, you’re decided. it was a crush.
perhaps it was superficial of you. you claim to fall for a guy you don’t know only for the fact you found him cute. you thought looking at him, admiring him like this was enough however when his angelic smile brightened at the sight of the children waving bye-bye to him and him waving bye-bye back. when he went down on one knee in front of your sister’s daughter, politely asking her she has to stop playing with her classmates because you have come to bring her home. when Futaba spread her arms and wrapped them around his neck, telling him a lispy see you tomorrow.
how dare you face someone like him looking like this.
on the way home, you were dead-set on asking your sister to let you bring your niece home every schoolday. seeing him once was not enough. something about him gravitated you to wanting to see more of him.
you remember the name written on his nametag when you caught the last glimpse of him.
“Sugawara”
his name reminded you of grass fields, as it is what it meant. it was perfect for him. the aura he emitted was rather calming. people must like having him around for he’s a breath of fresh air. he really was a perfect kindergarten teacher.
“how was school, Futaba?”
your niece skipped as she walked, visibly excited to talk about her day. “it was really fun! my classmates and i had a tea party earlier! Futaba almost spilled the cup because it was too hot.”
“what about your teachers?” you wanted to smack yourself for squeezing information about a guy from your 5-year-old niece. it is a desperate move however, which else choice do you have?
“ah! Sugawara-sensei read us a beanstalk story before nappy time.” Futaba put a finger on her chin as if to think about what else happened. she had no idea how hooked she got you to listen to her story. “then, then Sugawara-sensei helped Futaba with her clay family!”
you then considered yourself lucky.
“do you like Sugawara-sensei?”
and pushed the topic about the man further, seeing the sparkles in your niece’s eyes and how she skipped even happier. “yes! yes! Futaba’s favorite teacher is Sugawara-sensei,” she declared and continued shyly. “he helped Futaba talk to her crush Kaito-kun.”
when you said you were dead-set, you are dead-set for real. what’s there to lose? kids love him, including your own niece. he’s beautiful. he has a gentle voice. he probably smells like daisies. you just have to befriend him and get to know about him some more before introducing him to your parents-
as a friend.
right?
“for what? did you find a cute guy there or something?”
it sucked your sister knew you too well.
that day, you invited yourself in your sister’s room the second she got home from work. the sly yet desperate move visibly annoyed the older so much that she knew you had something up your sleeve to even dare show up in her room.
“no. just that, it’s a good way to take breaks from the café. plus, i get to hang out with Futaba.” you explained as simply as you could, even though your sister literally can see right through your lies.
she hummed and replied with, “you never get out of the house unless it’s absolutely necessary. when i asked you to take Futaba home from school yesterday, you hated it because your break time from café is ruined. please. find someone else to fool, y/n.”
you soon admit that you truly are dumb. that, however, did not stop you from redeeming yourself to your sister; that being telling the truth and not exactly redeeming anything. you told her the man you set your eyes on in Futaba’s school. you jokingly told her it was love at first sight even though you never believed of something as ridiculous as such.
besides, your sister has no room to reject. you aimed at two birds with one stone. not only do you get to see more of the guy, but you will do your sister a favor of taking care of her daughter for free.
she sighed, finding no way to deny this. “i hate to say it but your timing is too good. i was thinking of finding a babysitter for Futaba since both of us are busy. but if you insist, who am i to decline?”
so this side job began the following day.
thirty minutes spared during your break before you engage yourself to war. you decided to spend those thirty minutes to rearrange yourself. you would rather not switch into your house clothes like you did yesterday, would you? this time, you chose carefully. you didn’t want to look like a floor rag but you didn’t want to look like you went there to go on a date either. even to contemplate whether or not you must add a little more blush on your cheeks to look lively.
you changed into a casual fit. a plain shirt, denim shorts and a pair of slip-on sandals. it was an attempt to not look like you were trying too hard. not with those clean ponytail and tinted lips.
“good afternoon, i’m Futaba’s guardian.” you told yourself a good job that you remembered to greet today.
but Sugawara wasn’t the one you directed that to.
he wasn’t around. you sneaked glances left and right to see if he was playing together with the other kids, but alas.
you walked home with Futaba, holding her hand. you try to match the child’s mood as she was very elated to talk about her day. on the other hand, you; Sugawara could have been busy. you can still see him again the following day.
the following days, you lessened your get up from your first attempt. he was present, but the greetings were the same as first day you met.
what the hell are you supposed to do now? do you start conversations? well, of course, you told yourself, since you’re the one who wants something from him. but how? what should you talk about? your day? his day? the kids? his job? what?
“thank you for taking care of Futaba.”
“hm? it is my job though.”
there goes your little motivation to initiate conversations with people you’re interested in.
you hear him chuckle at you, which added to the embarrassment you had from your statement alone.
today was parents’ day. the kids were asked to bring their parents to school to have a little meeting with the rest of the class. it worried you that Futaba only had you as her guardian to go with her, not her mother, but you see the kid in her high spirits since this morning you didn’t want to ruin that for her and apologize on her mother’s behalf.
you think this as you lean against the wall at the corner, until you notice Sugawara stood beside you. so much so, you spoke absent-mindedly.
you should have kept your mouth shut.
“is Futaba’s mother doing okay? we haven’t seen her since a week ago.”
or maybe you don’t have to keep your mouth shut after all. you turned to him, stunned. like, goodness, he’s starting a topic with you himself. how can you not be stunned.
“o sorry. is it a sensitive topic? i’m sorry-”
“no!” you said audibly. too audibly. you clamped your mouth, worried if you took the children’s attention away from the kids who are presenting in front. you continued in a whisper, while he still chuckled at you, “Futaba’s mom recently switched work schedules that clashes together with the kid’s school. she wasn’t allowed to take a leave today, so i’m here in her place.”
geez, were you talking too much?
“i see.”
you probably were talking too much.
“you two are siblings, no?”
“uh, yeah. we are.”
he nodded to himself, turning to the kids presenting again. a silent heave of relief escaped you while you leaned comfortably against the wall again. guess that was enough interaction for the day.
“i guess, we’ll keep seeing Futaba’s guardian-san from now on.” he gave you a gentle smile, leaning a bit closer to you from the half-feet distance.
“you don’t have to keep calling me that.”
“my apologies. what should i call you?”
“y/n.”
“y/n-san then.”
he gave you one last boyish smile before walking off to his station.
hold up.
did he just come here to ask for your name? did he trick you into telling him your name?
you and Futaba went home happily. literally, the both of you had a great day in school. here, you were giggling like a kid who just got noticed by her crush. but you could be wrong. it’s only natural of a teacher to learn one of his student’s  guardian’s name. he cannot be interested in you.
on the other hand, he did start a conversation with you.
don’t get ahead of yourself, you thought. you cannot help but still think about it.
the traffic lights flashed a green color.
days went on. you stayed as the one bringing your niece home safely every afternoon while the mother is busy. the relationship and trust you built with the child strengthened. your heart swell each time you see her jumping in joy whenever you show up after school. when you thought that alone will bring you happiness everyday, Sugawara greets you everyday with the same boyish smile.
each day pass, soon you become close friends. this made Futaba happy as you two are two of her favorite people.
until one day, the teacher called saying Futaba got sick.
worry engulfed you. you wondered what could’ve happened for the child to get sick, when she was fine earlier before her and her mother left together. could your sister not have noticed? or did it happen during school? more and more questions took shape as you frantically closed the café and ran to the school.
you rushed inside the nurse’s office, panting profusely. your eyes first caught your niece lying on the bed unconscious, and Sugawara sitting by the bed, placing a damp towel on her forehead.
“good morning, I’m Futaba’s guardian.”
Futaba’s teacher explained the situation to you. the kids were outside playing in the playground when Sugawara saw Futaba drenched in one hidden part of the garden. you see another kid standing beside the teacher. the kid gripped the hem of his shirt tightly as if he wanted to rip it off. the scowl on his face says enough of why he was here.
“i didn’t do it.”
the teacher continued, “ever since parent’s day, apparently some students have been picking on Futaba for not having her mother around.
“i’m terribly sorry. i’ve helped Futaba in ways i can. even i wanted to call you for this, but when i told Futaba i will, she begged me not to tell you because you and her mother are both busy with work.” she nudged the kid beside her, “isn’t there something you need to tell Futaba’s guardian?”
the kid averted his eyes. you figured there was no reason squeezing an apology from stubborn children like him. you kneeled before the kid to be at the same level as his eyes.
“what’s your name?”
he spent a few seconds quivering his lips before speaking, “Sora.”
“Sora,” you held his shoulder gently, looking into his eyes. “you’re very lucky to always have your mother by your side.”
tears formed in his innocent eyes.
you went on. “always remember to tell your mom that you love her, long as you still have her around, so she will stay. okay?” you finished, smiling at him as bright as you could.
Sora erupted into tears, storming off out of the nurse’s office and yelling his apology.
kids.
“i’m sorry i didn’t mean to make him cry.” you reasoned, when you know full well you did it on purpose to put that kid into a guilt trip for messing with your niece like this. the teacher said it was fine, that she could’ve done it the same thing but a different way.
ignoring that, you turned to Sugawara, who you forgot was there the whole time, “i’m sorry for the trouble. i’ll be taking her home now.”
“i can help you bring her home.”
Sugawara stood up from his seat. this startles you because you also forgot you had a crush on him. you try to decline his offer, reasoning that your house is nearby and that you can carry a kid no problem.
but the Futaba’s teacher helped insist, “Sugawara-sensei should help you look after Futaba… uh, y/n-san was it?” you nodded, dubiously. “it was also said by Futaba that you’re working alone in your house with no one to help you. so please.”
you couldn’t decline when you saw Sugawara already carrying the kid behind his back. so you went home together with him, big deal. you felt embarrassed after getting your background get found out like that. guess Futaba is too honest of a kid, but not honest enough to tell her family that she was bullied at school.
“here will do.”
the two of you finally stood in front of your father’s café. the walk was silent, but you believed it was enough interaction for the day once more.
“you weren’t kidding when you say it was nearby, huh?” he said, looking through the glass windows.
“well. yeah.”
“that’s too bad,” he says, still carrying the kid on his back. he looks back to you. the smile appears again, “aren’t you going to open the door?”
you unlocked the doors. then, it hit you. what did he mean by too bad?
after taking Futaba up to her room and tucking her in bed, you went back down to the café where you found Sugawara idling about. “you can rest yourself on one of the booths. let me brew a drink for you.” you took your apron and hurried behind the counter. meanwhile, the man stood up perhaps wanting to leave.
“oh, you don’t have to make me a drink. i should be leaving.”
this confused you. really, what was that too bad for?
“you went all the way to our café. it’s only natural i made a drink for you.” you try and justify yourself. also, you already pressed the espresso machine. there’s no reason to waste a cup of espresso.
“if so, must i stay?”
this was the second to the last straw.
you stood there, one hand holding the ice scooper and the other holding a grande-sized cup, while staring at him straight into his bright eyes. those orbs must be telling you something. there should be a secret hiding within those eyes. for example, an answer to his question.
“do you want to stay?” you first broke the gaze.
“i’m the one asking you, y/n,” he said with a chuckle.
once again, you hesitated. “sure.”
the café flooded with silence while you made an iced latte for him. you trailed your gaze to the top of his head as he sat on one of the booths. concerns arise from the pit of your mind. nothing seemed to be happening. then, what is he here for? if he stayed, what will happen? is this all on purpose? should you put your guards up?
are the green lights alit again?
you put the iced latte on his table when he spoke. “i’m quite worried about Futaba with what happened to her.”
“well, she did a good job hiding the truth from us.” you say as you sat across him. “she’s a strong kid. i’m more worried if she will continue hiding her pain from the people who care about her.”
maybe you shouldn’t start such a touchy subject like this, yea? Sugawara landed his eyes at you but you avoided it and stood up. you have no idea what’s going on. if anything, this is not the right context of when something will develop. both of you just brought home a sick kid, for Pete’s sake. must you really take advantage of this?
“anyway, i’ll tell my sister what happened. she can help Futaba better than i-”
“i wonder if i’ll still see you every afternoon.”
his honesty astounded you. Sugawara’s pale face flushed from shame. guess he didn’t mean to say that. this means, if you weren’t getting ahead of yourself again, it’s how he actually feels.
you tried to lessen his embarrassment, “of course you will, who else will pick Futaba up from school?” so you played dumb.
“if your sister knew about the situation, she might switch her schedule.”
what was he trying to say?
“she can’t do that easily, you know.”
“there will still be a possibility.” he rested his chin on his palm, smiling at you, “which reminds me, i have been looking for a part-time job around here. is your café looking for more workers?”
“you wanna work here?” you ask as you went and flip the sign to open, since you’re already back for work.
“sure,” he picked himself up from the booth and walked towards you. “but i think i should follow someone’s footsteps first and make an impression. you know, you’re going to be my boss. i should meet you with casual clothes, not with a track jacket, sweat pants and unkept hair. what do you think?”
you flipped the sign to close. “are you mocking someone here?”
he tried to not make himself laugh at you. “i’m just saying i shouldn’t half-ass it if i’m looking for another job, y/n.”
“doesn’t sound like you’re actually looking for another job though?”
“i’m not,” he admitted. “i’m only looking for a reason to see you more. every 12.30 pm isn’t enough.”
the traffic lights said go. it is now 12.31 pm.

So I was bored and thought to myself “what if we took characters from all three games and made them friends. like, they’re all friends together, but little friend groups. what would they be?” and here I am
I know this is basically UTDP, but I’m just incredibly bored and wanted something to do. Feel free to ignore this.
Also when I’m talking about who’s friends with who, I’m mostly going to be focusing on characters from other games, since we already know the relationships between characters from the same games.
Makoto Naegi is friends with: Hajime, Komaru, Kaede, and Shuichi, obviously. Protag squad. Aside from them, though, I think he’d get along well with Kaito, since both of them are huge optimists. I do think he’d be fairly close with everyone, though.
Kyoko Kirigiri is friends with: Shuichi, of course. They’d be detective friends! I also feel like she’d get along well with Peko, Maki and Kirumi, since they’re all no-nonsense badasses who are determined to get what they want.
Byakuya Togami is friends with: I kinda feel like he’d be friends with Korekiyo. Don’t ask me why, I just get those vibes. I don’t really know, I feel like he’s someone who wouldn’t really be close with too many people.
Toko Fukawa is friends with: Dating Komaru, of course. She’d probably be friends with Mikan, since they’re both dating very loud, extroverted girls while they are very quiet, introverted girls (I ship Tokomaru and Tsumioda don’t @ me). Probably also Maki, since Komaru absolutely adopted the Warriors of Hope and while Toko helps out sometimes, she’s... not very good at it. I think that Maki, despite being an assassin, was fairly competent with children (hence why she chose Child Caregiver as her disguise), and would help Toko and Komaru out with the kids a lot. Sonia follows her around almost constantly after she finds out about Genocide Jill, too.
Yasuhiro Hagakure is friends with: I’m not sure who he’d be friends with, necessarily, but I do think he’d be fascinated by Nagito’s luck and how it relates to fortune telling.
Aoi Asahina is friends with: I kinda feel like she’d be friends with Angie (definitely not because they have the same VA aha what are you talking about). I’m pretty sure she’d also get along with Tenko because they like to gush about their girlfriends to each other.
Sayaka Maizono is friends with: Almost certainly Ibuki and Kaede, they’d get together and play music sometimes. I think she might also get along well with Akane because of how much she dances on stage and how dancing is kinda similar to gymnastics, and I also think Himiko helps her with special effects when she’s performing sometimes.
Leon Kuwata is friends with: He and Kazuichi are totally chaos friends. I’m not sure why, but they give me a very similar vibe. I also think that Nekomaru plans all his workouts, and they bond over sports-related things. Bonus: Ibuki gives him music lessons, and he plays tennis with Ryoma sometimes (Leon never wins, but it’s just for fun).
Chihiro Fujisaki is friends with: Chihiro, Mikan, and Gonta are the respective pures of each class, so they’d probably get along fairly well. I headcanon Chihiro and Chiaki as cousins, so they’d get along well and be friends too, probably. I feel like they would also get along well with Kiibo, since Chihiro is fascinated by Kiibo’s programming and Kiibo is just happy that someone thinks it’s cool that he’s a robot, thank you very much Kokichi!
Mondo Owada is friends with: I feel like when he arrived at Hope’s Peak, his gang had a big feud with the Kuzuryu clan, but after talking stuff out, they’d call off the feud and become great friends. I’m pretty sure he would also get along fairly well with Kaito (don’t ask me why, I’m not entirely sure).
Kiyotaka Ishimaru is friends with: I think he’d be friends with Shuichi and would admire his work in becoming a detective. He’d also originally be wary of Fuyuhiko (given his talent is pretty rebellious), but since Fuyuhiko is a stickler for following the rules and not breaking the law (...much), so they’d become fairly close eventually.
Hifumi Yamada is friends with: Teruteru. You know why. (Also Tsumugi, since they’re both into anime and creating something based on fiction. Maybe Chiaki, since he writes fanfics based on games too).
Celestia Ludenberg is friends with: Celestia, Sonia, and Kirumi are goth friends, for sure. I also feel like she’d get along well with Gundham, since they both have “personas” that they very rarely deviate from. She gets together every week with Mahiru and Tenko to rant about how much they hate men, too. Also Kokichi is her annoying little cousin who she would never let anyone know she gets along with.
Sakura Ogami is friends with: She spars with Tenko every week, and Peko talks with her about devotion to those they care about sometimes. She also exercises with Akane and Nekomaru weekly.
Junko Enoshima is friends with: She’s part of the bitch squad with Hiyoko and Kokichi. Tsumugi really admires her, and while she acts like she doesn’t care, she’s incredibly flattered and hangs out with her sometimes. They’ve got matching Monokuma plushies. Finally, she and Nagito are best friends who would kill everyone in the room and then themselves if anyone found out.
Mukuro Ikusaba is friends with: Mukuro, Peko, and Maki get together and discuss murdering people sometimes (Kiyo joins occasionally, not that he’s actually killed anyone [or so he says... {jk he’s normal(?) here}]).
Hajime Hinata is friends with: Makoto, Komaru, Kaede, and Shuichi, as mentioned above. Also gets along well with Rantaro, mostly because he worries about Izuru like how Rantaro worries about his sisters (in this universe, Izuru is Hajime’s twin and constantly doing risky shit in the name of finding out whether it’s boring or not).
Sonia Nevermind is friends with: Goth friends with Celestia and Kirumi. Probably accidentally joined Angie’s cult worshipped Atua for a bit, but also likes to discuss morbid things with Korekiyo, and is DESPERATE to meet Genocide Jill, constantly begging Toko to switch for her.
Kazuichi Soda is friends with: Chaos friends with Leon, as stated above. Also close friends with Miu, which terrifies most of his class (for good reason). In awe of Kiibo and his features, and constantly asks to take him apart to see how he’s built. Kiibo refuses every time, but the two of them are still good friends.
Akane Owari is friends with: She helps create routines for Sayaka to perform, and exercises with Sakura (and Nekomaru) weekly. Spars with Tenko occasionally, too.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu is friends with: Mondo and Taka, as stated above, but he’s also friends with Shuichi. I feel like Fuyuhiko would be kind of a mentor figure to Shuichi, though I’m not entirely sure why I get this vibe.
Ultimate Imposter is friends with: I’m sorry Imposter, but you don’t really have any traits that would make your friends with anyone outside of your class. The only person you’d interact with at all is Byakuya, and he’d probably hate your guts for impersonating him. (TLDR; I’ve got nothing)
Teruteru Hanamura is friends with: Hifumi, because of course, though also might get along with Miu. They’re horny disaster friends. Everyone should run for their lives.
Mahiru Koizumi is friends with: Rants about how much she hates men every week with Celestia and Tenko, as mentioned above. I feel like she’d also be friends with Himiko and Tsumugi, and she’d take pictures of their performances and cosplays respectively.
Peko Pekoyama is friends with: Kyoko, Maki, Kirumi, Peko, and occasionally Mukuro are the badass no-nonsense squad. She also discusses killing people with Maki, Mukuro, and Korekiyo occasionally (as stated above). Kokichi also is constantly trying to get her to express emotions (mostly by getting on her nerves), but she doesn’t mind... that much, anyways. She also talks to Sakura about devotion to others sometimes.
Ibuki Mioda is friends with: Occasionally plays music with Sayaka and Kaede. She also gives Leon music lessons, and she and Komaru gush about their girlfriends to each other (again, I ship Tokomaru and Tsumioda).
Hiyoko Saionji is friends with: Part of the bully squad with Junko and Kokichi, but is closer with the latter. They prank people together a lot, and the aftermath is always devastating.
Mikan Tsumiki is friends with: One of the Class Pures, as they’re called, with Chihiro and Gonta. Also Toko, as stated above. Kirumi too, since they’re both all about serving people. Maybe also Himiko, though I can’t really articulate why I think they’d be friends.
Nekomaru Nidai is friends with: He plans out Leon’s workouts and exercises with Sakura (and Akane), as stated previously, but he’s close with Kaito, both due to their similar circumstances and their desire to help others reach their full potential.
Gundham Tanaka is friends with: He and Gonta are animal buds! Also gets along well with Celeste, since they’re both goths with flamboyant personas. Fairly close with Korekiyo too, since they’re both into more morbid things.
Nagito Komaeda is friends with: Yasuhiro follows him around whenever he thinks his luck is going to do something ridiculous, which is... a lot. Leads the “bastard orphan squad” with Kokichi, though they’re actually the only members. He’s also the Warriors of Hope’s babysitter, so he interacts with Komaru (and by extension Toko) a lot. Lastly, he and Junko are best frenemies, though if anyone asked, they’d claim that they’re just enemies.
Chiaki Nanami is friends with: Like I said earlier, I headcanon her and Chihiro as cousins, so they get along pretty well. Something I haven’t said yet, is that she’d probably be friends with Komaru! Don’t ask me why, I just get that vibe a lot. Totally also sleepy friends with Himiko, and enjoys helping Tsumugi cosplay video game characters. Maybe Hifumi, at a huge stretch, since she could offer insight into game characters for his fanfics.
Komaru Naegi is friends with: Part of the protagonist squad, and Toko’s girlfriend. Also Ibuki (as mentioned above), and probably gets together with Tsumugi to read manga sometimes. Nagito is also the her kids’ (Warriors of Hope, don’t @ me) babysitter, so they get along well, though they don’t spend a lot of time together. Also gets Maki’s help with the kids sometimes (see my reasoning in Toko’s segment), and they get along well! At least, well by Maki’s standards.
Shuichi Saihara is friends with: Protag squad, baybee! Also close with Kyoko (detective friends!), Taka (hard workers), and Fuyuhiko (...don’t ask, I’m not sure why).
Maki Harukawa is friends with: Part of both the badass squad (Kyoko, Kirumi, Peko, Maki) and the murder club (Mukuro, Peko, Maki, Kiyo)! Also helps Toko and Komaru with their kids occasionally.
Himiko Yumeno is friends with: Himiko helps Sayaka with special effects for her performances sometimes, so they hang out a fair bit, though Sayaka usually does most of the talking. Mahiru takes pictures of her magic shows a lot, and Mikan is also friends with her (I’m not sure why I think they’re friends, but they’re friends). Chiaki is also sleepy friends with her, and the two of them can be seen napping together fairly often.
Rantaro Amami is friends with: Honestly, I feel like Rantaro is closer with the people in his class than the people in other classes. He’s kinda just popular and well-liked by everyone, but only close with a few people. Hajime is his best friend who isn’t in his class, since they have a tendency to worry about their siblings.
Kaede Akamatsu is friends with: She’s part of both the protag squad (Makoto, Hajime, Komaru, Shuichi) and the music squad (Sayaka and Ibuki), but not much else. Like Rantaro, though, she’s well-liked by just about everyone, even if she’s not exactly friends with them.
Ryoma Hoshi is friends with: Ryoma is a loner, and doesn’t really spend a lot of time with anyone. His classmates do their best to help him socialize, but they can only do so much. That being said, though, he does like to play tennis with Leon sometimes.
Kirumi Tojo is friends with: Certified member of the badass squad (Kyoko, Peko, Maki, and Kirumi) and one of the goth queens (Celestia, Sonia, and Kirumi). Also gets along well with Mikan, since she originally asked Mikan for help learning how to treat wounds (should the need ever arise for her to carry out her duties), but they quickly bonded over how they want to help people.
Angie Yonaga is friends with: She’s friends with Aoi, since because Angie lives on an island, swimming is important, and with Aoi being the Ultimate Swimming Pro... yeah. She also probably converted Sonia for a little while, though while Sonia eventually left Atua, they remained close.
Tenko Chabashira is friends with: Likes to gush about her girlfriend to Aoi, who, in return, gushes about her girlfriend. Gets together weekly with Celestia and Mahiru about how much they hate men, as previously stated, and spars with both Sakura and Akane every so often.
Korekiyo Shinguji is friends with: Gets along fairly well with Byakuya (don’t ask). He also likes to discuss morbid things with Sonia and Gundham, and is an honorary member of the murder club (Mukuro, Peko, and Maki). Only honorary, though, since he doesn’t always show up to meetings and hasn’t actually killed anyone, he just finds murder methods interesting.
Miu Iruma is friends with: Horny friends with Teruteru, and engineering friends with Kazuichi. She’s slowly turning Kazuichi to the dark side, aka nonstop dirty jokes, and his class is terrified of her.
Gonta Gokuhara is friends with: Class 79′s representative pure, so he hangs out with Chihiro and Mikan a lot, just being innocent and adorable with them. Animal friends with Gundham, too! They like to discuss nature and how animals/insects are good for the world.
Kokichi Ouma is friends with: Kokichi is Celestia’s annoying little cousin, but they do get along... just not in front of anyone else. Him, Junko, and Hiyoko are the representative bullies/pranksters of their classes, so they hang out a lot. Kokichi also follows Peko around trying to get her to express emotions, though he secretly thinks she’s really cool and that she’s really similar to Maki. Leads the “bastard orphan squad” with Nagito, not that anyone else is part of it, but they have fun nonetheless!
Kaito Momota is friends with: Makoto is his sidekick now, which he doesn’t really mind, since they’re both pretty big optimists. He and Nekomaru like to get together and shout encouragement at people, too. Kaito’s also friends with Mondo, though I don’t know why.
K1-B0 is friends with: Kiibo is friends with Chihiro, who is fascinated with his programming; and Kazuichi, who constantly follows him around, asks about his functions, and requests to take him apart (not that he’s ever accepted that last one...)
Tsumugi Shirogane is friends with: She helps Hifumi with his fanfics very occasionally, since most of the time said fics are about manga and/or anime and she could offer insight into some of the characters. Really admires Junko, who publicly denounces her, but secretly is one of her best friends. Mahiru loves to take pictures of her cosplays, and Chiaki helps her get the details right on her video game cosplays. Komaru also likes to hang out with her so they can read manga together.
Anyways, hope you enjoyed this shit. If you made it to the end, congrats and thank you. I’m gonna go take a nap now.

*grumble grumble* dumb Tumblr deleting my 2.5K words post for no reason blegh.
Well anyway,
In defense of Gonta and Kokichi's friendship
Heyo! I like both Gonta and Kokichi a lot lot lot, they're both p much my faves.
I've only watched a single let's play for v3 a few weeks ago so I don't remember everything, however I was on the lookout for those two and it's pretty easy to miss their positive interactions or even misinterpret them, but I'll try to bring up what I remember cause I've seen people hating the relationship between them a lil too much and while I'll concede that it isn't the best it's also important not to dismiss the good things canon and heavily supported headcanon. Also it's one of my favourite friendships of all the danganronpa franchise even when we only look at absolute canon.
Without further ado, we start off with the insect meet and greet that gets brought up a lot. It gives off the impression that Kokichi manipulated Gonta into doing it, but there's a piece of dialogue between Gonta and Shuichi before it in which Gonta says 'Oh, Shuichi! Are you looking for a way to get students to trade motive videos?', meaning it was a plan he wanted to do- and we can assume it's not Kokichi who pushed him into thinking of that, cuz Gonta wasn't aware of his plan and why would Kokichi tell him about trading motive videos without mentioning his plan?
After that during the IMAG When Kokichi says he has to leave and Gonta asks him why, Kokichi very clearly says that he'll bring their motive videos to watch together and Gonta very clearly agrees to it. No manipulation. So all of Kokichi's IMAG plan can be boiled down to 'I'll force everyone to gather and watch the motive videos, and I'll get help from Gonta since he supports this idea, and along the way he can show off his bugs so it's a win-win' and note that Kokichi is not anymore malicious with his plans than he thinks is necessary, he could have lied to him and just gathered the students elsewhere, but instead he chose a plan that would make Gonta happy. I'm not sure why he didn't explain his entire plan to Gonta beforehand, but at least he chose him because he agreed with his opinion and didn't go out of his way to manipulate him.
After that we think Kokichi tricked Gonta because the students- mainly Tsumugi- keep saying it, and we see Gonta confused so we think he has no idea what's going on- but he does, he clearly agreed to watch the videos, and is confused a little as to why they keep saying he's gotten manipulated. Then we see him angry and assume he's angry at being manipulated, but he is only angry because Kokichi lied about liking bugs, and, well, he didn't let it slide and punished Kokichi with the IMAG, so, yeah. If you don't look closely it's very easy to misinterpret this whole event.
Moving on to the whole lovely mess that is chapter 4. I'll explain it in a chronological order so hopefully it doesn't get too messy.
Two murders happened for an insanely stupid reason, and Gonta once again wasn't able to prevent it. At this point he's desperate to help his friends but he feels more and more useless and unhelpful, the constant babying from his classmates doesn't help
Kokichi takes the motive keycard and sees the secret of the outside world. You know, the one that broke all of the students in chap 5 and made Shuichi understand the idea of Gonta's mercy killing in chap 5 and made Shu so depressed he couldn't do anything but lay in his bed for days.
Now I'm gonna go in speculation territory cuz I've only watched the game once a few weeks ago and my memory is fuzzy and it's hard to come up with a good analysis without a second watch through, so prepare for some confusing stuff here. There are two of Kokichi's reaction to seeing the literal end of the world before his eyes after he thought there was an audience, the initial one is that it drove him to insane despair (which Kaito noticed and punched him and called him weirder than usual) and he started to believe that this entire twisted game was only made for one single crazy mastermind, and maybe the best choice was for all of them to die after all. But then he may have thought further of it and realized there might still be a chance for it to be a lie, because why would a single person care so much about rules for a game without others stopping them from doing whatever dumb whim they want? So through his despair Kokichi thinks there might still be a chance that the world is fine and there's an audience which wants a thrilling game of murder, but he needs to test that theory. The plan he comes up with would be to see if monokuma would team up with him to add a motive to the neo world, and if monokuma accepted then it would mean there really is an audience that wants things spiced up. Problem is, he knows Miu wants to kill him there.
Now, I don't know what exactly Kokichi's plan was, but I'm sure he can come up with plans very quickly and adapt to whatever situation and see a few moves ahead. Gonta followed him outside- Kokichi didn't lure him out-, and it was then that Kokichi came up with the plan we all know of…
Reminder that Gonta saw the secret of the outside world, the one that drove the entire class to despair in chapter five. Gonta isn't as pure as we make him out to be, he is prone to violence as seen a few times throughout the game, and having been raised in the wild with carnivorous wolfs we can speculate that he isn't averse to murder so much. It would make sense that he would agree to a mass mercy killing. Both he and Kokichi agreed that it would be best for everyone to die in their blissful ignorance. Gonta was in fact so willing to do it that he helped by suggesting the idea of the slide to make the murder even more confusing and make Kokichi even more suspicious.
Once again, I'm not sure what plan Kokichi was going for, but, whenever I think back to trial 4 I really get the vibe that he wasn't completely against the mercy killing. I'm not sure how much, but I'm certain that to some extent he was ready to go through with his and Gonta's plan, like he had one foot in the killing plan, and one foot in another plan, and however the trial went he would go.
To summarize up until this point, both he and Gonta saw the secret of the outside world and made an alliance in which they very surely both agreed that death was a better alternative than letting their classmates live and see what had become of the outside world. Kokichi didn't even need to manipulate Gonta for that.
Although I will admit that if Kokichi wanted to test his theory and thought there was a chance the outside world was fine, then he really did manipulate Gonta by making him think that the outside world was destroyed when he himself thought it was a lie. But even in this case Kokichi didn't manipulate Gonta by exploiting his gullible nature, he used a lie that could have worked on anyone, and Gonta just so happened to follow him outside.
Then the part that gets people is Kokichi yelling at Gonta for being stupid till he cries, and just generally being a dick. But get this, in the anthology in the Hair Raising Panic chapter Kokichi realizes that Gonta is tricking them and hiding something. Kokichi of all people doesn't underestimate Gonta's intellect and it's shown many times throughout the game but I won't go into it for now I'll save this for another time. But Kokichi is the type to distrust people for the smallest reason, even in the anthology's no-murder school life AU Kokichi found it in him to get suspicious of Gonta, and now they're in a killing game where each person can be mastermind, murderer, traitor, he has every reason to distrust all his classmates and he doesn't underestimate Gonta's intellect. So from Kokichi's point of view, Gonta is deviating from their plan and betraying him- when he'd thought he could trust him and even made an alliance with him. It's messing with his carefully crafted plans and he can't afford that and there's too much at stake, so he snaps at Gonta. Although I will admit I don't understand what was going through Kokichi's mind when he called him dumb, I'm thinking his evil persona was pushing through and his panic was guiding him, but I still firmly believe that Kokichi was the one student who didn't underestimate Gonta's intellect.
This is getting long and I haven't even finished most of what I've wanted to address. Moving on.
Let's not forget that after the whole trial Kokichi wanted to die with Gonta and voted for himself- but here's the thing into speculation again. I believe I'd he wanted to just die he could have not voted and been punished for that, but he voted for himself. Sooo I think he voted for himself after telling the students about the two blackeneds rule, hoping that either votes would be even for them and thus for him to die with Gonta- or that he hoped too many students would remember the two blackeneds rule and vote for him so he would be wrongly voted as blackened and their mass mercy killing plan would work after all.
Also, you know, in chapter five Kokichi could have made an unsolvable murder by killing Kaito who was gonna die of his illness anyway, but he still chose to kill himself because of two things: the first being that he wasn't anymore malicious than he needed to be so he made a plan that would allow Kaito to shine as the hero he desperately wanted to be, and, well, his immense guilt over killing one of the closest people to him during the killing game- heck, two of the people he considered somewhat friends and allies he could trust a lil.
Before I'm done with the main narrative I'd like to point out one last REALLY IMPORTANT thing; the killing game is a game of distrust where anyone can kill anyone, it puts an insane amount of stress and paranoia on people and drives them to do things they would otherwise never accept. Some relationships couldn't easily happen outside of the killing game (like Kaito and Shuichi) and some happened more easily because of the killing game setting (like Kaede and Shuichi) and some should stay intact in either (like Tenko and Himiko). It's a rather unfair setting to judge people.
Now onto miscellaneous stuff that the killing game setting doesn't affect and should be good enough to judge people and relationships:
In trial 2 I think, Kokichi was the only one to praise Gonta for pointing out something smart (I don't remember what it was though, maybe the rope thing with Kirumi.)
Kokichi was also the one who took Gonta seriously when he talked about seeing tiny bugs and went as far as requesting the bug vac over something everyone forgot and dismissed- even the players themselves. In general, Kokichi is the student who most acknowledges Gonta's intellect.
Kokichi had two main plans and for both he trusted Gonta.
They can also be found often hanging out together- which I think is unprecedented in dr- and from what I remember if you you try to spend your free time with either of them they both hesitate to stop hanging out but get reassured by each other that it's fine and they can pick their discussion back up. So when together they aren't bickering or in an unpleasant discussion and enjoy eachother's company enough to hesitate to spare time for Shuichi. Strong emphasis on the fact that this is mutual, it's not only Gonta being nice enough not to ditch Kokichi or reassuring him that it's fine and he can leave, Kokichi too doesn't wanna ditch Gonta at first and reassures him that they can hang out later together. (As far as I can remember at least, but my memory may be tricking me)
In one of Kokichi's dating events he says that he hates bugs but wants to watch a bug documentary to understand why Gonta likes them. It's a good outcome too so Kokichi had a good time watching it even though he hates bugs.
Again in Hair Raising Panic even if Kokichi suspected Gonta he didn't tell anyone or mess with him and instead let him carry out whatever plan he had, suspicion but trust in the end.
The two have a very bittersweet event in the TDP (Gonta's) where Kokichi says goodbye to Gonta.
Firstly, Kokichi says he isn't eating enough but when Gonta gets worried Kokichi dismisses it as a lie, but Gonta still worries about it and most importantly, thinks Kokichi said the truth about not eating before dismissing it as a lie so he still worries about him. It's… really odd when you think about it, if it had been a lie for sure then it would have been written as such, but Kokichi's malnourishment is being treated in this scenario as the truth and most importantly we're shown that Gonta was able to see that Kokichi said a sad truth and then said he lied but Gonta still saw through that and understood that Kokichi could dismiss a sad truth as a lie not to worry him. This scene always sticks out to me because its writing really really caught me off guard, we don't have so much to say whether or not my interpretation is truth but knowing those two characters and as writer's hunch? I think this holds up well. I think Kokichi isn't as unreadable as people make him out to be and Gonta is smarter than people think he is, add to that the fact that in this event they've been classmates for nearly 3 years so at this point I don't doubt Gonta would be able to see through Kokichi's lies to some extent. I think this is overall really sweet and I'm glad that this scene exists.
But the sweetest has yet to come! Kokichi tells this to Gonta
Kokichi: Cuz we won't see each other after we graduate. I *am* the leader of evil after all. There'd be no point in me being around a gentleman like you m, Gonta. And that's not a lie. Are you relieved, Gonta? You'll never be tricked by someone as despicable as me anymore.
Gonta: How sad! Gonta make lot of memories with Kokichi over last three years… So… of course Gonta feel sad he no see you anymore.
Kokichi: Of course. Well, I'm not a gentleman like you Gonta, so I bid you my farewell.
Gonta: Grgh… Gonta wish that was lie… [You feel even sadder than before]
And you know, this is a graduation event, in most cases one of the three choices is an interaction with someone from v3 cast who is very important in the killing game to the character you're playing. (Kaito with his sidekicks, Kiibo with Miu, I can't remember the rest). We have a clear confirmation here that outside of the killing game, Kokichi and Gonta are very close friends and Kokichi holds Gonta in high regard as a real gentleman who deserves better than a clown gang leader as his friend.
Mic drop.
Now, I've tried to be as objective as possible and point out either canon or interpret the vaguer stuff. I won't say they had a pure beautiful friendship because that would be aaa wrong, and I won't deny that for chap 4 plan Gonta was going to get hurt with that plan no matter what -by being voted as the blackened and thus failing to help everyone with the mass mercy killing, or by succeeding with the plan and being left all alone with his despair and prolly either planning his suicide after that or being taken to participate in season 54 before he could kill himself- and Kokichi most likely knew that his plan would hurt Gonta no matter the outcome, and Kokichi even if he didn't want to still pushed Gonta, his sweet gentleman friend, to murder for him. And he did lash out on him in trial 4 and say nasty things and make him stress and panic then hurt him with his villainous persona. I won't deny canon, actions speak louder than words, and Kokichi's actions, regardless of his intentions, still ended up hurting Gonta. But still in not ignoring canon, it's important to realize that Kokichi undeniably felt insanely guilty for what he did and even wanted to die with Gonta which completely contradicts his leadership quality and selflessness and logical nature (because dying with Gonta would be a meaningless death and would leave his clueless classmates behind with no plan to escape and many leads inaccessible) only because he didn't want to live with his sin, and it's also important not to ignore their many little positive interactions in canon pointed above. I won't speak for canon, but I definitely think their relationships had it's downs but also had it's ups that we really shouldn't be ignoring.
Feel free to point out any mistake I made or share your opinions- but please make sure not to be spiteful and have actual concrete arguments to share, I've spent a 3-4 hours writing and revising this passionately and I don't wanna deal with hate so please be gentlemen like Gonta. Thankie!
(oh cool this time around Tumblr didn't delete this phew now I won't have to re-format everything.)

Analysis – Kokichi's Plan in Chapter 4
The concept, the execution, and the failure.
Before we start, it's my personal recommendation that you read this analysis before rewatching the chapter 4 trial, and then reading it as you rewatch it. Unfortunately, due to tumblr limiting the number of pictures I can put in a single post, I've decided to refrain from adding screenshots as I just have too many I want to add. However, my points are evidenced by the trial itself if you watch carefully with them in mind, and so I'm encouraging you to do so. Please, please do so.
Concept
By my analysis, Kokichi's plan was to implicate himself as the culprit and for Gonta to get away with the murder in order to mercy kill the rest of the students and save them from despair.
Kokichi mentions this much before and after the trial, most people remembering the moments after and not the moments before; probably because between subtle admittance and loud screaming and crying, you'll remember the screaming and crying more. This analysis is based on the fact that his words pre- and post-trial are true, which is backed by several canon instances and also it just makes sense.
Execution
Now! This plan required a few things to work:
It required Kokichi to make everyone hate and be suspicious of him
It required Gonta to cooperate
It required Kokichi to be able to get around Shuichi's deductive reasoning in some way
It required a majority of the class to vote for Kokichi
If that wording seems specific, it's because it is!
I'll be talking about each major component of this plan and how each factor (almost) worked together to create a perfect storm + when, how, and why this plan failed despite quite frankly being a fantastic display of Kokichi's talent as the Ultimate (Supreme) Leader.
The 1st component is pretty much accomplished before the chapter even begins, he is a self-proclaimed liar that annoys people regularly after all, but in order for the 3rd and 4th components to really work he needed to sink his reputation even lower. He does this in a multitude of ways both before and during the trial: making sinister faces or looking nervous at appropriate times, antagonizing everyone (but most importantly Gonta and Kaito), and just in general being a lying nuisance that no one really wants to listen to.
The 2nd component was accomplished inside the Virtual World... and then immediately undone as soon as Gonta logged out due to a couple of crossed wires. The fact that Gonta forgot remaining undiscovered by everyone (including Kokichi) until two-thirds of the way through the trial is important to how the plan failed and adds perspective in areas, but I'll hold off on explaining why until it's time to talk about it in-depth. Make a mental note and let's move on.
The 3rd component explains why during the investigation every single surviving member of the cast told Shuichi that they trusted him but then when we get really into the trial we start seeing them doubt him immensely, Kaito being among the people that doubted Shuichi the most. Why is that? How did everyone go from relying on Shuichi to thinking for themselves and doubting his reasoning, and what does it have to do with Kokichi? It's simple: Kokichi lead the others into doing so.
We see this a lot during the investigation period, or at least the prep work of it. Kokichi constantly encourages the others to say things like: "We can't leave this all to Shuichi, we have to work hard too!" by telling them that they should all rely on Shuichi and to never doubt his judgment. Kokichi was using his bad reputation to make them come to a conclusion that is the exact opposite of what he said. More on that a little later as well!
Kokichi knows his reputation, he's the one that made it that way after all, and frequently you will see him use it to his advantage. Whether he's trying to cover up an emotional outburst or he's trying to make someone admit something, you will often see him use his reputation as someone untrustworthy to lead conversations in subtle ways.
I use the word "lead" with great emphasis as that is his Talent. He is the very best of the best at leading people; The Ultimate (Supreme) Leader. When he wants someone to think a certain way or do something they end up doing it whether they realize it or not, because he is extremely talented in his field. I cannot stress enough how good this man is at leading conversations and people into going where he wants them to go. Oh shit back to the point–!
During this time we also see Kokichi acting strange, so strange that Shuichi mentions it four times in his internal dialogue. Following him, being helpful, offering advice and hints... it seems nice until you realize his intention wasn't to become good partners with Shuichi, but to instead ruin Shuichi's reputation with the others by having them associate Shuichi with Kokichi, who they already hate thanks to component 1.
During the trial you'll see this subtle manipulation working as soon as Kokichi starts calling Shuichi partner and making Shuichi agree with his points, putting on a false show of partnership. To the others it seemed that Shuichi was picking Kokichi over all of his friends even when Shuichi himself tries to explain otherwise, and this is absolutely no coincidence.
Kaito is especially affected by this because Kaito and Kokichi are sworn enemies, and in Kaito's mind, Shuichi just picked his enemy over him. It really hurt him to be "betrayed" like this, causing Kaito to turn his back on Shuichi despite the numerous promises that he would never do such a thing he made prior to this trial. Kokichi really focuses on breaking their friendship too, interrupting Shuichi multiple times when he tries to tell Kaito that it's not personal and making sinister faces while saying that Shuichi is his partner now, taunting and gloating to Kaito's face about the loss of his sidekick. Breaking them apart was actually key to how Kokichi used Kaito's influence to his advantage in component 4.
Focus on Kaito aside, everyone else also refuses to agree with Kokichi –and Shuichi by association– which means that no matter what Shuichi says or how hard he tries to prove it, as long as Kokichi interrupts him and spins the story to make it look like he was somehow involved in that deduction, no one will agree with Shuichi no matter how much logic he throws at them. He has placed Shuichi's deductions in a permanent state of check. No matter what Shuichi says or does, Kokichi can and will get in the way of it immediately to control the narrative of the trial.
During this time Kokichi also says that Gonta is the culprit and I know that it tripped a lot of people up so I'll elaborate on what he was doing before we get to the next component. You have to remember that Kokichi's style of lying for this trial has predominantly been him saying the exact opposite of what he means in order to make the others do it. If Kokichi says "go left" they will all go right, that is how he uses his reputation. Notice how when he says Gonta is the culprit everyone's immediate reaction is to defend Gonta and persecute Kokichi even more than they were before, effectively framing himself by making it look like he was framing Gonta. When looking at Kokichi's lies it is sometimes essential to analyze the reaction he got than the lie on it's own because what he wants out of people is just as important as what he says to make them do it.
This leads into the 4th component: Kokichi getting the majority vote.
Kaito unquestionably holds the most influence in the trial after Shuichi loses all of his, gaining more by spearheading the hate campaign against Kokichi, and because of this everyone almost lost their lives in a mass execution.
After Shuichi's reputation in the eyes of the others is seen as being led astray and therefore less trustworthy, Kaito is the one that causes and loudly encourages everyone to rally against Kokichi, and by extension, doubt Shuichi's deductions. Kaito doing this more out of a hatred/distrust of Kokichi than anything related to Shuichi, with the rest following suit because they can't trust Kokichi, who they've been lead to hate so much in this trial by both Kaito and, unbeknownst to them, Kokichi. Kokichi essentially created his own witch hunt, with the cast's irrational anger without proof almost leading to a false conviction.
Allow me to further emphasize the fact that everyone but Shuichi was convinced that "Kokichi was a cold-hearted murderer trying to frame poor Gonta for his own crimes." Also allow me to remind you that according to the rules you don't need everyone to vote for the same person in order to win, you just need a majority. Kokichi had that majority and was about to "win" the trial.
...So why didn't he?
Failure
Two. Crossed. Wires.
That's it. All it took was one little piece to be out of place and Kokichi's astonishingly brilliant strategy crumbled in an instant. Allow me to clarify:
Everyone remembers the moment when Kokichi yelled at Gonta, right? The big, bad moment? That one? Good. I'm about to explain to you what Kokichi was thinking while he yelled.
In Kokichi's mind, his plan was almost complete. He had done the impossible! Everything had gone according to keikaku! He had gotten Gonta's cooperation, he made everyone blame him, he made everyone stop listening to the Ultimate Detective, all that was left was for Gonta to condemn him in front of the others and they would all vote for the wrong man. That one little nudge at this very crucial turning point and the plan would finally be complete, his effort made to bear fruit...
Except... Gonta never condemned Kokichi with any sort of evidence, all he said was "I don't know!" and "I didn't do it!" Gonta was about to trip them at the finish line and so Kokichi, as subtly as he could, told Gonta to blame him, the "culprit". Once, twice, a third time... he really tried to explain to Gonta what he was meant to do without alerting the others. It didn't even have to be true, as long as Gonta denounced Kokichi with even the slightest bit of evidence, the others were in enough of a frenzy to believe anything that pinned Kokichi as the culprit. Still, Gonta doesn't catch the hints from his collaborator. How could he? He didn't remember ever becoming partners in the first place. However, Kokichi doesn't know that and gets very frustrated that Gonta is about to throw away their one ticket to stopping the game, so he screams "Just make up an excuse or whatever" in his anger, still trying to get his point across. Gonta can't fuck up now. This is their only shot. Despite this, once more Gonta doesn't know what's going on and misses his cue.
Shuichi finally notices this as well, coming to the conclusion that Gonta's avatar had been the one with the error. Kokichi quickly realizes that his partner isn't available to him anymore, his memories lost in a bundle of wires and code. The moment is over, the frenzy has cooled off by the time Shuichi was done explaining and there was no way for him to lead the conversation again after ruining his own reputation like that. The plan failed.
All because of two little wires.
From here on out we see Kokichi visibly withdraw. There isn't anything left for him to do but complete the trial and think of a new plan. He's less motivated than before, insults everyone less than before, offers his input less than before, and generally seems like he can barely keep up his facade. You can't blame him though, with everything that happened that day and the fact that it was all in vain anyway really must have taken it's toll on Kokichi. From his friend trying to kill him to trying and failing to plan around his own murder to orchestrate and get away with a mass mercy kill... it's an unbelievable understatement to say he was having a bad day.
He speeds the trial up as much as he can with Kaito stubbornly getting in the way, forcing Shuichi to cross everyone off the suspect list except for Gonta, the unwitting blackened. Whether it was out of pity for Gonta's confusion or just him wanting the trial to be over already due to emotional exhaustion, or perhaps even both, doesn't neccesarily matter. Shuichi ends the trial regardless, and it's all over. Kokichi wasn't able to save anyone from despair and two of his friends died for nothing. He has no one to rely on now and no one left would ever consider letting him close to them. Roll credits... until he comes up with a new plan moments after Gonta is executed because if there is one thing about Kokichi you can always bet on, it's his quick wit.
Afterword
Now that we're at the end, I would like to make something very clear because with how much emphasis I put on Kokichi's capabilities as a leader I'm worried that I might be misunderstood.
I do not believe Gonta was manipulated into murdering Miu. Canon proves that Gonta was a willing collaborator due to external factors not relating to Kokichi's talent as a Leader, but instead because of despair and his own desire to protect everyone and that's that.
It's not really related to this anaylsis, however if I see someone using my own analysis to try and prove that Kokichi was anything but friends with Gonta I will go apeshit. Do not fucking do that.

Can you make a scenario Were kais s/o walks up to him all sad and guilty and say I cheated and ( insert kais over-the-top dramatic reaction) only for her to mean she cheated in a game they played like a week ago and the kids made her confess because (insert one of the chisaki kids being cute) cheating is bad
I can feel Kai's eyes burning my soul with this.. i just feel it.
Tumblr media
He heard two knocks on the door and without looking up from his taxes he allowed whoever it was to come in.
His body visibly relaxed at seing you entering, although he quickly got in allert the moment he spotted your sad and perhaps... ashamed face.
"Angel. Something wrong?"
You nodded, still not looking at his eyes. You took a big breath in and got the courage to look up.
"You can talk about it? I'm only doing taxes anyway, you already know how found I am of these." He said in sarcasm but still not letting go of his pen neither the papers.
"Kai... I got to confess something, and maybe you won't like... at all." He lifted one of his eyebrows in mockness as he wrote.
"What? Did you and the brats eated something raw again?" He really expected to hear your giggles but the only response he received was you rubbing one of your arms while looking down.
Oh... it was serious.
"Kai, I'm sorry, but I cheated."
He widened his eyes and literally broke his pen right on the middle of his writing, the ink splashing on the taxes.
You yelped and went to help him but before you could do it he lifted his head and got up to his feet, placing both of his gloved hands on his desk.
"... care to repeat that again?" He was calm... way too calm, but his eyes spoted everything about him.
He was infuriated. A silent wrath of his.
"I cheated?" You spoke again but more confused than before "Hon the ta-"
"Don't. Use. That title on me." You tilted your head before you yelped at Chisaki just towering over you with murderous eyes.
"After years of gaining my trust, having two brats with me, you do this? What? Got bored or something? Answer me (Y/N) Chisaki." He growled while he really controlled himself to not overhaul the woman he loved for years by now.
"Wait. Ah shit. No, Kai is not what you think it is-" you got that he misunderstood and quickly tried to explain it but he only slammed his gloved besides your face.
"Was this all a plaything to you? Was all the nights I cried on your shoulder a mere sick joke to make you feel better? And the times where I went out of my own comfort zone to make you happy? This was all nothing... " The hurt in his voice was evident but the anger winned over.
"Kai for God's sake let me finis-"
"Don't use that name like we're clo-" he growled before he noticed Kaito and Kin peeking their heads over the door.
"Did you told him mama?" Kin spoke while Kaito arched a eyebrow at the way his father was looking at his mom.
"Tried at least." You sighed in hopeless.
"So they already know as well?" He growled at you, extremely offended that his kids seemed cool about it.
"That I cheated on the game tonight? Yeah, they discovered." You smirked up at him before his face fell completely.
"...What?"
"Mom cheated on the board game we played tonight." Kaito pointed a finger towards you "She stoled one card, so that's why she won."
You laughed in embarrassment before sneaking a peek at your husband, he looked so confused and yet... relieved.
"Cheating is wrong! So we told her to go tell you the truth!" Kin exclaimed with a smile while Kaito looked at his father suspiciously.
"Dad what were you doing with mom? Why did you pushed her against the wall?"
Kai didn't even pay attention at his son question when he just circled his arms around your waist and burried his face in the top of your head, sighing in both relieve and annoyance. Not even carring about the fact of his mysophobia... you were pure and clean anyways.
Pure, clean and his.
"Did it cost too much if you just sayed 'I cheated on the game' instead of just 'I cheated'?" He mumbled angrily in the top of your head while he surpressed a chuckle of his own at hearing your giggles.
"My bad." You lifted your head up, ignoring his grunts, and pouted at him "But it was really mean of you to think I would be capable of doing something like that!"
His face blushed a little as he averted his eyes to his desk instead of your eyes as he mumbled 'apologies.'.
Now he was feeling like a fool for every doubting you, but honestly you were the only one to blame. Don't just say 'I cheated'! What else a man would think?!
You giggled while nuzzling yoir nose against his, smirking at seing the hints of smile to grow behing that mask he used.
He mentally rolled hiis eyes at hearing his son disgusted noises while his daughter made cute ones. Brats can't even let both of them alone for a while.
"Does this means mom is forgiven?" Kaito asked numbly.
"Absolutely not." He said suddenly, pinching both of your sides, enjoying the way you yelped.
You squirmed away from him and went to the doorframe... didn't like one bit the way the three of them changed suspected glances before looking at you.
"Come on is just a board game." You mumbled before you started to run when Kai just vommanded his kids to get you.
He merely chuckled lowly before taking sliw steps to see that you were literally crashed on the floor by Kaito and Kin.
"Any last words dear?" He asked before crouching down.
"You three take a game WAY too serious..."
"Who said this is about only that board game? This is for the scare as well."
"You got the wrong idea first Kai!"
"Who is the one to make the rules here since you're literally smashed in the floor?"
All you could do was groan and accepted your fate while your kids giggled on top of you.
You were going to be SO SORE when you wake up in the other day...

Teddy Bear: A Saiouma Fluff
If there was one thing Kokichi enjoyed about being a liar, it was the fact that he could hide anything from anyone. It was a good thing that he was such a great liar, because he had a secret that nobody knew about him. That secret was, that he still slept with a stuffed animal.
It wasn't a big secret compared to what others secrets were, but it was a big secret to him. Kokichi had a reputation, he was the ultimate supreme leader for crying out loud! Kokichi thought about the secret as he read the invitation from Kaede once again. "Class slumber party tomorrow night in the gym! Boys and girls both invited. Come out for snacks, movies, and truth or dare!"
Kokichi had to make a decision. He wanted to go, but at the same time he couldn't. Kokichi had never gotten to sleep without his stuffed animal, and he couldn't necessarily bring it with him, he would get made fun of. Kokichi thought more and more about it, then he realized. "Shumai!", He thought to himself. Now he absolutely couldn't bring his stuffed animal, knowing his crush would most likely find out about his secret. It would ruin any chance he had with the detective.
Anxious, Kokichi rolled over on his side and looked at his small purple stuffed dinosaur. It was a gift from his parents before he started at Hope's Peak, it reminded him of home. Kokichi gave the dinosaur a tight squeeze before falling asleep. He needed a lot of rest before deciding what he would do about the slumber party.
The sun shined brightly on Kokichi's purple locks. Slowly, Kokichi stirred awake and realized that today was the day of his class slumber party. "Maybe I just shouldn't go...", Kokichi said to himself out loud. "But this could be the perfect opportunity to tell my beloved how I feel!", Kokichi stated to himself out loud. He had made up his mind, he was going to sleep at this slumber party and tell Shuichi how he felt without the stuffed animal. Though the slumber party wasn't until later, Kokichi got everything ready now. He gathered everything he may need for the night and paused for a second. He stared at the stuffed animal for a good minute, could he really sleep without it? He picked it up and inspected it, "I don't need it. I'm 17 years old!", he said to himself, before tossing the stuffed animal under his bed. After gathering his things, he placed it in a backpack near his door and started towards the dining hall.
Eventually he got to the dining hall and was greeted by no one other than his favorite detective. "Kokichi! Good morning.", Shuichi said smiling. "Nihihi! Good morning Shumai~", Kokichi said, smiling brightly back at his beloved. "So, the slumber party is tonight.", Shuichi said, sounding slightly nervous. "Aaah, does my beloved want me to go so I can sleep with him?", Kokichi asked jokingly. "K-kokichi!", Shuichi replied, blushing. "Nihihi! I'll go just for you my beloved!", Kokichi said, walking away from Shuichi. "I did it! I finally told Saihara-Chan the truth!", Kokichi thought to himself, beaming. Kokichi eventually walked back to his room, excited for the night ahead of him.
A few hours passed and Kokichi went to the gym to help with preparations. They set up  separated sides for the boys and girls, and multiple snack stations. This slumber party was gonna be a night to remember for Kokichi, and others.
After about an hour, everything was prepared and it was time for the party to start. One after another everyone started piling into the gym, readying their sleeping bags and other night time necessities. Once everyone was settled in, they began to start their slumber party.
“Thank you so much to everyone who came! I’m so excited to spend this night with all of you!”, Kaede said as she smiled and clapped her hands together. Kokichi has never been close with Kaede sure, but seeing her happy did make him smile a bit. Kokichi looked around until he finally spotted his favorite detective.
“Saihara-Channn!”, Kokichi called out playfully with his hands behind his head. “Kokichi! I’m really glad to see that you’re here.”, Shuichi said smiling. “Nihihi, I never knew that the detective needed me to have a good time.”, Kokichi said slickly, though Shuichi was his beloved, he loved messing with him.
“I just thought it would be cool to...spend some time with you yknow?”, Shuichi mumbled blushing. “I love spending time with you too Shumai!”, Kokichi exclaimed, he was happy that he and Shuichi were having an actual conversation. Time passed, and they were ready to begin the first event of the night they would remember forever.
“Ok everyone first we’re gonna play a mobile game called among us!”, Kirumi said. Kirumi never played games a lot before, so getting to play among us was kind of a big deal for her. Considering the class only had 16 students, they decided to split 8 and 8. Group one including Shuichi, Miu, Kaede, Kaito, Kokichi, Himiko, and Tenko. Whilst the 2nd group was Korekiyo, Angie, Maki, Kirumi, Gonta, Ryoma, Rantaro, and Tsumugi.
“Alright everyone! Be sure to be nice and have fun!”, Kaede smiled. Soon the first game started and Kokichi was imposter. “Nihihi, this game knows me so well” Kokichi thought to himself before proceeding to play the game well. He killed Miu first of course, and then Kaito. Soon enough though, he was found out by his favorite detective. “Nihihi, such a great detective Shumai~”, Kokichi smiled. Though he wanted to win, he couldn’t stop his attraction from the detective seeing through all of his lies.
The night went on like normal, with fun truth or dare to interesting movies. Soon enough though, it was time to go to sleep.
“Ahhhh, goodnight everyone!”, Kaede yawned, she was tired after having so much fun with everyone. “Goodnight, Kaede!”, Shuichi said, he was very tired as well. “Shumai you’re really gonna sleep with that emo hat?!”, Kokichi asked teasingly. “Hahaha, then how about you hold onto it for me?”, Shuichi said smiling, placing the hat on the smaller boys’ head.
“Goodnight Kokichi.”, Shuichi yawned before finally falling asleep. Kokichi eventually tried to fall asleep as well, but when he tried, he had awful awful dreams.
Kokichi’s dream:
“As if you of all people could ever get me to love you!”, Shuichi yelled at Kokichi. “B-but Shumai-“, Kokichi started. “And enough with the stupid nicknames alright?? It’s so annoying”, Shuichi said cruelly. “I-I just thought you and I could b-be together!”, Kokichi exclaimed explaining himself. “Hah! No way!”, Shuichi laughed. “You’re alone, and you always will be.”, Shuichi finished, walking away from a hurt Kokichi.
Back to real life:
“No!”, Kokichi shouted, jolting awake. He looked around him to see Shuichi asleep next to him. “Just a dream..”, He thought to himself as he started looking around for his stuffed animal to help him get to sleep. “Where is it???”, Kokichi thought to himself anxiously, as he had never slept successfully without it. Kokichi then remembered that he had left it in his dorm. “Shit!!”, Kokichi thought. He knew that he wouldn’t be able to get to sleep without it, and that made him nervous. Kokichi stood up and walked outside of the gym and sat in the hallway outside. He felt anxious and afraid. What was he gonna do??
“I could just sleep in my dorm with it and come back in the morning”, Kokichi thought. “But what if someone wakes up and sees I’m gone??” Kokichi was so anxious he began crying and shaking. To make things worse, he didn’t have his dinosaur to calm him down.
Shuichi began to stir awake as he heard small sobs coming from outside the gym. He moved over to the right and saw that Kokichi was no longer next to him. “Kokichi?”, Shuichi mumbled out loud. He stood up and began to look for the small purple haired boy.
Kokichi heard footsteps approaching him as he turned around and saw the tall detective standing over him. “S-Shuichi!”, Kokichi exclaimed in shock, wiping his tears away. “Kokichi? What’s wrong?”, Shuichi said, kneeling down to be on level with Kokichi.
“Nihihi! It’s a lie!”, Kokichi joked. “Don’t worry about me, I was just seeing if my dear Saihara-Chan would worry about me~”, Kokichi said. “Kokichi...”, Shuichi said, growing slightly annoyed with Kokichi. “I know a lie when I see one, what happened?”, Shuichi asked sympathetically.
Kokichi was slightly shocked, did Shuichi really care about him? Could he trust Shuichi enough to tell him his secret?
“O-okay well...”, Kokichi started. “It’s kind of embarrassing.. so you better not laugh!”, Kokichi yelled. “I won’t Kokichi, I could never judge you.”, Shuichi smiled. “W-well it’s just, every night, I usually can’t sleep unless...”, Kokichi trailed off. “Unless..?”, Shuichi asked, being kind of confused.
“Unless I sleep with my stuffed animal! He’s a small purple dragon and his name is Panta, I normally can’t sleep without him.”, Kokichi said, blushing.
Shuichi couldn’t help but stare, he was so hopelessly in love with Kokichi and finding out about his stuffed animal just made him even cuter. “Kokichi...”, Shuichi said gently. “I understand if you think differently of me now okay?! Just... don’t tell anyone else. Okay?”, Kokichi said.
“Kokichi, I would never tell anyone your secret that you trusted me with.”, Shuichi said sympathetically. “However if you don’t mind me asking... Why does this dinosaur mean so much?”, Shuichi asked, trying to learn more about Kokichi.
“I-It just reminds me of home I guess... Back where nobody really hated me, and my lies weren’t as bad you know?”, Kokichi said, slightly embarrassed. Shuichi stared at Kokichi for a moment, as he slowly moved in and planted a gentle kiss on Kokichi’s lips.
“Shu-Shuichi!”, Kokichi exclaimed, slightly taken aback. “I’m sorry it’s just... you’re so adorable Ouma-Kun”, Shuichi said. “Here how about this”, Shuichi proposed. “I can be your dinosaur for the night.”, Shuichi said, smiling at Kokichi.
Kokichi was shocked, he was really offered the opportunity to sleep with his beloved, and he hadn’t laughed at his secret. “O-Okay.”, Kokichi shyly accepted.
The two went back to the gym and laid down on their sleeping bags they had set up earlier. Kokichi placed his face into Shuichi’s chest as Shuichi planted his chin on top of Kokichi’s head. “I-I love you Shuichi.”, Kokichi whispered as he drifted to sleep calmly. “I love you more.” Shuichi stated.
“My teddy bear”, Shuichi said smiling, as he finally fell asleep.

THE NICHIASA SHITPOSTING REPORT
TIME IS A MANMADE CONCEPT. ALSO KNOWN AS I THOUGHT I ALREADY DID THIS.
IN THIS EPISODE: AN AOZORA ELECTION DAY SPECIAL, A DISGRUNTLED SISTER TEACHES THE FAVORITE SISTER HOW TO FLY AND THE ZENKAIGER TENNIS GRAND PRE.
Tropical Rouge: It's the start of the general election season for the Aozora Middle School Student Council. And good news everyone, you can't be student council president of a middle school when you're going to be promoted to high school. That means that Asuka's ex is at the end of her term limit, and it's time for a new, fresh face to run the school. And Laura knows just the person to bring Aozora Middle School into the new golden age of rule.
That person is Laura.
I mean, what's a student council president then good practice for her rule as Grand Ocean's Next Top Queen? This should be easy. I mean who wouldn't be on board for changing the name of the Student Council President to "Queen", or having classes in the ocean or mandatory fish tails or something. Obviously, she is the best candidate. Forget that other candidate the disciplinary committee's Masami or good candidate Rika. Obviously, Laura is Sakuragawa Sensei approved.
Meanwhile, the girls are reminded that Asuka also has a backstory. Much to the surprise of absolutely three people, we're told that Asuka was once part of the Tennis club, and was doubles partners with her ex. Local bibliophile was quoted as saying, "I didn't think it was important." Seems Laura also agrees, as she wants to discuss her lofty goals, which causes her cabinet to have to revise her plans to something more doable.
Meanwhile, Chongire has some things to say about the current state of political affairs and demands an audience with the Presidental Candidate and her choices for cabinet positions. But it turns out that leaving the final speeches is an auto-disqualification. Saving the world does not matter in the political world. Honestly, it was unfair and some real fake news #stopthecount hours. Laura even told the assembly that she would be back. What's wrong with waiting like, 5 minutes? This was obviously a ploy to keep the smug fish from power. Oh well. At least she'll have the Grand Ocean.
Revice: After saving his sister Sakura and his "She's a girl, and a friend but not a girlfriend" girlfriend Ayaka, Ikki... still refuses to sign the contract to make him a magical girl employee of FENIX. This leads to his brother to rage quit the simulation and do something useful like his actual stamp collecting job.
Meanwhile, Sakura goes to look for her friend. After such a terrible ordeal, it's always best to check on your friends. But Ayaka's mom didn't know where she was. She felt no need to keep track of such people because she wasn't the favorite child. Only one of them was going to be her meal ticket to riches, and it wasn't going to be her non-idol daughter. But it's okay, because Ayaka found a new job, with new friends, and a new uniform and sparkly shoes. Hey, wait a minute...
Back at FENIX HQ, George is dealing with Daiji insisting that this time he can transform. THIS time he'll be successful and won't chicken out of putting the belt on, let alone stamping it. George promptly tells Daiji that his OS is woefully out of date and not even compatible. Meanwhile, while Daiji is being told he has to do a complete system overall to be software compatible, a concert is going on! Headlined by Ayaka's sister's idol group. Everyone's having a great time and dancing to the song. Everyone but Ayaka at least, who just wants her mom to look at her. When she still has no time for a non-idol daughter, Ayaka finally decides it's time for a Pokemon battle. Since Ayaka's mom doesn't have a Pokemon, Ikki and Vice transform to fight the Kong Pokemon in place of the mom. And with the encouragement of her new friend, the girl in the baseball cap that looks suspiciously like Angelina, Ayaka evolves her Pokemon using herself as an evolving stone. And the Kong Deadman's first mission: See if Ayaka's sister can fly. I'm sure if she believes, she can do it. This leads to Family Fight Round 2 between Ikki and Daiji because both are far too prideful and/or thinking of ways to make more money for the bathhouse.
Meanwhile, Daiji decides to offer an olive branch in the form of a new stamp, after both of them talked to their mom separately, who told both of them to knock it off.
The next day, Ayaka decides it's time for her sister to show off her night-long training for flying. And what do you know, her mom starts to actually talk to her. Ayaka will now get one (1) hour a week, uninterrupted with her mother without her sister. And with a patented Rider Kick (TM), Ayaka was separated from her leveled-up Kong Pokemon and Ikki wins the PokeBattle.
And finally, Ikki signs the contract. And Vice celebrates by watching someone Photoshop Ikki out of a family photo.
Zenkaiger: Yacchan and Magine go on a girls' day out to a nice cafe to have some fancy pastries without any wackiness involved. Such as a nice, calming day.
Meanwhile, Kaito is just trying to make some deliveries. Kaito is just trying to do his day job. Too bad boyfriend #2, Stacey, has decided that he hasn't had nearly enough alone time with Kaito and he will not be demoted in favor of the pirate. But Kaito is determined to make his mail rounds and tells him to meet up with Yatsune at Colorful. His not!grandma will be happy to fatten him up on more ice cream.
That's not good enough, and they will throw down now. At least Secchan told everyone what's happening between the two.
Left all alone with all the fancy baked goods, Yatsune waits. At least, until Tennis World shows up for the baked goods to turn everyone into tennis balls. The Tennis World is out of them you know. They can't play tennis if they have no balls. And people are abundant. But Yatsune comes to help! After helping the civilians escape, Yatsune bravely grabs her Geartlinger, and transforms into... wait, I'm being told she doesn't have a Geartlinger.
I'm now being told that she is being told that she does not have a Geartlinger. And now she's a tennis ball.
Coming to fight is Zox, because he's been home bored. While the group (and Stacey from his tsuntsun corner) is checking in with the newest tennis ball in the block, Vox is told by Tennis World that the only way to beat him is by tennis.
"So we will have a Tennis competition." -Vox, 2021
It turns out that Zox isn't just a manga otaku. He's a tennis otaku. And he picked up tennis because of his favorite manga, The Prince Pirate of Tennis. When Vox goes into a fandom, he goes in hard. And makes it his mission to make sure that the entire Zenkaiger group is at least not embarrassingly bad at tennis. Of course, when I say "Zox picked up tennis because of his manga" I of course mean, in that 10-minute discussion about the actual threat. But he's still better than the rest of the group.
At least Kaito is also slightly better than the rest of them. Also, good on Kaito for wearing his pride over his heart. Or at least I think that's his heart, I'm bad at anatomy.
We now enter into a cool, 90's montage which may or may not help with their backhand. So does Stacey, who turns out to be actually good at the tennis thing. Especially when all of his boyfriend's teammates are losing to rigged tennis. After Stacey puts on his best Prince Pirate of Tennis costume, he promptly shows how he is the 5-time Kikitopia champion of Rigged Tennis. Because the only thing Stacey loves more than tennis is hating on Tennis World. And Stacey promptly breaks the mask of the Tennis World and walks off. This gives the opening for the Zenkaiger and Twokaizer groups to finally beat the Tennis World, then beat the Dai Tennis World.
Zox even complements Stacey, which is met with a resounding "Fuck Off."
Back at Colorful, the two teams are given new celebratory towels and relay a story to Yatsune that "Satoshi" is pretty good at the tennis thing. Much to Yatsune's happiness, and Stacey's confusion somewhere else.

Faith in the Cards.
Tumblr media
Quick! Quick! Hurry, it’s starting!
Patron: Ok, Ok! I’m coming...!
*Iroha excitedly drags the man that she’s talking to over to the central table where Asayoru and Kokichi are ready to begin.
Tumblr media
Did we make it in time!?
Tumblr media
Yeah, you sure did. Let’s watch Kokichi kick ass.
Tumblr media
Gladly!
*Kuripa, Ryota, Iroha, Hifumi, Kana and Kibin all observe the show from their table. Meanwhile, on the other side of the room, Shuichi, Kaede, Maki and Kaito share their own thoughts.
Tumblr media
Hey...Shuichi, what do you think his chances are?
Tumblr media
Well, I’ve never seen Kokichi gamble before, but my gut instinct tells me he’d probably be very good at it.
Tumblr media
Well, yeah, you gotta be good at lying and hiding your emotions, and Kokichi can do both flawlessly.
Tumblr media
At the same time though...I don’t know how Asayoru plays...and Kokichi admitted to me himself that he has a harder time reading him than anyone else he’s met before...
Tumblr media
I’m willing to bet Asayoru is just as skilled as he is at lying, maybe even more...
Tumblr media
So Kokichi’s chances aren’t as good as we think?
Tumblr media
Probably not...But I have some semblance of faith in him.
Tumblr media
I’m honestly disgusted with myself that I’m routing for him...
Patron: I’m actually getting very excited...!
Patron: Agreed! My heart is racing!
Patron: The Cabaret Crusher and High Roller High Lord going at it in a gambling match. I can’t wait!
Tumblr media
Cute nickname you got there...
Tumblr media
First I’ve heard of it...Shame I can’t say the same about yours...
Tumblr media
Yes, I know, I’m not a fan of it either...
Tumblr media
If they’re going to give me a title, surely Cabaret Killer would be better?
Tumblr media
Isn’t that worse?
Tumblr media
In a morbid sort of way, but there is a difference.
Tumblr media
Mr Ouma...What happens when you crush a walnut?
Tumblr media
It breaks. Why do you ask?
Tumblr media
Yes, it breaks...but what about a person...?
Tumblr media
Say you crush a person under a Hydraulic Press or something...what happens to them?
Tumblr media
...They’d probably die.
Tumblr media
Exactly. If something is crushed, it remains in a broken, unusable and unmanageable state, but with hard work and strong will, it can be put back together good as new...But if something is killed...There’s no fixing that...No one can bring back the dead.
Tumblr media
The more we talk, the more I realize how bent backwards your mind is...
Tumblr media
Then why don’t we stop talking with our mouths, and talk with our skills instead?
Tumblr media
Sounds good to me.
Tumblr media
Good luck Mr Ouma!
Tumblr media
You can do it!
Tumblr media
Ouma, Ouma, he’s our man, if he can’t do it, no one can!
Tumblr media
Aw, how cute. I have my own cheerleading squad.
*Seina and Syobai stand up and move to the front of the table, where most of the audience can see them.
Tumblr media
In the issue of fairness, this game will have two managers. One from La Vitesse and one from the High Roller.
Tumblr media
The first game shall be Mahjong.
*Syobai lays a collection of tiles out onto the table.
Tumblr media
How do you play Mahjong again?
Tumblr media
If I explained it to you, we’d be here forever. But the gist of is is that they each need 14 pieces to win the game, and whoever has the higher number of points on their pieces is the winner.
Tumblr media
In other words, it’s the highest total value, like how four 90,000′s would be 360,000.
Tumblr media
...
*Seina reaches down and turns all of the overturned chips on their faces. When all are in a neat line, she begins to shuffle them about, under Syobai’s watchful eye.
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
...
*Asayoru and Kokichi stare with absolute focus at the moving pieces.
Tumblr media
Begin!
Tumblr media
!!
Tumblr media
!!
*As soon as she declares this, the two grab their sticks and scurry to grab what pieces they can.
Tumblr media
C’mon...!
Tumblr media
...Hehe.
Tumblr media
Tch...!
*Kokichi is quicker than Asayoru and secures the pieces he wants first. Asayoru grumbles and takes his own handful. Once each of them have collected enough pieces, they lay them out in a straight line.
Tumblr media
All of the pieces have no been collected. Start!
Tumblr media
...
*Syobai gives the go ahead, and Asayoru goes first. He turns over his pieces and Syobai reads them.
Tumblr media
Mr Asayoru has...750,000 points.
Tumblr media
Heh. Not bad...
Tumblr media
Impressive...! Hm...I wonder what I got...?
*Kokichi turns over his pieces, and Seina reads them aloud.
Tumblr media
M-Mr Ouma had...800,000 points.
Tumblr media
Gah...!
Tumblr media
Mr Ouma wins the first game!
Tumblr media
Nihihi!
Tumblr media
Yes!
Tumblr media
Iroha-chan, quiet. You can’t be loud in a place like this.
Tumblr media
Sorry, I’m just excited.
Tumblr media
Maybe keep that excitement at a low right now...The game isn’t over yet. No doubt Asayoru will come back for another round.
Tumblr media
What say we do best of three?
Tumblr media
I was just going to suggest that myself...
Tumblr media
Ah, well...Winning here would just leave a bad taste in my mouth. Let’s try a different game.
Tumblr media
Of course...Seina? The dice please?
Tumblr media
Yes sir.
Tumblr media
Dice? What do you have in mind?
Tumblr media
Do you perchance have any pots or flasks here? Like the one’s used to mix cocktails?
Tumblr media
Ah, now I get it! Can’t say I’ve ever played this game before, but I get what you’re eluding to...
*Seina supplies 12 pairs of dice, 6 for each side, while Syobai goes to the counter and comes back with a cocktail flask.
Tumblr media
What’s this one? I’ve heard of Mahjong, but not whatever this is.
Tumblr media
Given the setup, I think it’s a dice game that goes a little bit like this...
Tumblr media
Both of them will take the cocktail container and use it to scoop up the dice. They’ll shake the dice around and then when they’re done, they’ll put it down on the table.
Tumblr media
They’ll remove the flask, and see what numbers appear on the dice after they shake them.
Tumblr media
And let me guess. Whoever has the higher number wins?
Tumblr media
No, the opposite actually. It’s whoever has the lowest score that wins the game.
Tumblr media
So if Asayoru rolled two 5′s and four 2′s, his score would total 18, and if Kokichi rolled five 2′s and a 3, his score would be 13, and he would win?
Tumblr media
Exactly.
Tumblr media
May I go first?
Tumblr media
Of course...
*Seina hands Kokichi the flask and his 6 dice. Kokichi takes it and scoops the dice up into the flask. He begins to shake it around, and the rattling dice echo throughout the quiet room.
Tumblr media
...
*Asayoru’s eyes are focused on Kokichi’s movement, almost as if he doesn’t blink during the process.
Tumblr media
*SLAM!*
*Kokichi slams the flask down on the table, and after a lot of eager, anticipating eyes fall on him, he reveals his dice.
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
Mr Ouma has scored 6 points!
Tumblr media
6! But that means-!
Tumblr media
Yeah, he rolled a 1 on all of his dice! That’s impressive!
Tumblr media
I-Is that even possible with luck?
Tumblr media
Well, logically there’s a very small chance, but it’s not impossible.
Tumblr media
But this means he wins instantly right? There’s no way Asayoru can get below 6!
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
Ok...My turn...
Tumblr media
H-Huh?
Tumblr media
He’s still gonna go?
*Asayoru takes the flask off Kokichi...
Tumblr media
...This flask is too light for me. Get me a new one.
Tumblr media
Of course sir...
*Seina prepares to head to the counter.
Tumblr media
Do you have any flasks heavier than this?
Tumblr media
There’re some made of metal but...jeez, your boss is picky...
Tumblr media
Hm...I agree...
*Seina heads to the counter and returns with a metal flask.
Tumblr media
...Hehe...
*Asayoru scoops up the dice with the metal flask and begins to shake it around. The clanging noise is unbearable.
Tumblr media
H-Hey...he’s shaking that...kind of violently, right?
Tumblr media
He’s definitely shaking it harder than Kokichi...and he said he wanted a heavier flask too...
Tumblr media
He’s up to something...
*Asayoru shakes the pot with a lot of force, and slams it down on the table with just as much force...
Tumblr media
...Whoops...
Tumblr media
Hm?
Tumblr media
I...think I may have gone overboard.
*Asayoru removes his flask.
Tumblr media
Ah!
Tumblr media
H-His dice...!
Tumblr media
It broke!
*Sure enough, one of Asayoru’s 6 dice was shattered in the force of him shaking it combined with the heavy flask.
Tumblr media
C-Could he be-!?
Tumblr media
Hmph...Oh well, the game must go on...
*He lays his dice out in a line on the table. He, like Kokichi, rolled a one on every single one of them.
Tumblr media
...I see...
Tumblr media
Mr Ouma has scored 6 points...
Tumblr media
Mr Asayoru has scored 5 points. Mr Asayoru wins.
*The patrons are shocked and many gasp and applaud.
Tumblr media
What!?
Tumblr media
H-How!? What happened?
Tumblr media
I get it now...!
Tumblr media
Logically, there are 6 dice, which means that the lowest number you can score is 6. Kokichi rolled that, so in order to win the game, Asayoru had to score lower than 6, but typically, that’s impossible.
Tumblr media
But one of his dice broke, so now it’s been rendered uncountable, and since he rolled a 1 on all of his other dice, he has 5 points with the 6th dice being taken out of the equation...!
Tumblr media
That’s not fair! There has to be some sort of rule against that!?
Tumblr media
There isn’t. How often do you think the dice break during a game? Even if this was an intentional play, Asayoru hasn’t broken any rules! His score counts!
Tumblr media
What the hell...!?
*On the other side of the room, Shuichi and his friends react similarly.
Tumblr media
Oh come on...! That HAS to be cheating!
Tumblr media
No matter how much he tries to hide it, there’s no way that play wasn’t intentional. He was the one who asked for a heavier flask, and he also shook it with just the right amount of force to smash the dice...
Tumblr media
He’s not messing around...But...what about Kokichi? Can’t he say it doesn’t count?
Tumblr media
He could...but he isn’t. Look.
*Shuichi points to the table.
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
Something wrong Mr Ouma.
Tumblr media
No, not at all. I admire your technique. That was a very clever play you made.
Tumblr media
Mr Ouma, can’t you-
Tumblr media
Shush Syobai. This is a fair game. I don’t mind giving the point to Mr Asayoru on this one.
Tumblr media
Ah-!
Tumblr media
What is he doing...!?
Tumblr media
If no sides object to this scoring, each house now has one point for each game. Meaning this final game will be match point.
Tumblr media
Since this is match point, let’s do what we agreed beforehand and raise the stakes for real.
Tumblr media
Hm? What are you referring to?
Tumblr media
Why, the very reason we’re hosting this tourney in the first place of course!
Tumblr media
I’ll put it this way Asayoru...
Tumblr media
If you win this final game...Then not only will you get my money...but the High Roller is yours.
Tumblr media
Mmph...!
Tumblr media
So this is it...
Tumblr media
And what do you desire should you win?
Tumblr media
Well, other than your money, here’s what I think I deserve...Since you’re so bent on claiming my club for your own, then maybe I should take a...much similar reward.
Tumblr media
Are you saying you-!
Tumblr media
If I win, I get ownership rights to Club La Vitesse, and by extension, the Four Horsemen Cabaret Conglomerate.
*Many of the patrons gasp at the prospect.
Tumblr media
I can understand that...But do you really want the Four Horsemen knowing we’re just down to one Cabaret branch?
Tumblr media
If something is killed...There’s no fixing that...No one can bring back the dead. But if something is crushed, it remains in a broken, unusable and unmanageable state, but with hard work and strong will, it can be put back together good as new.
Tumblr media
Keh...Very well...Then our final game shall be 5 Card Stud.
*Seina and Syobai dish out a pile of cards, and several chips. Kokichi and Asayoru each take their own individual handful. As they begin playing, Kuripa leans in.
Tumblr media
How do they play this one?
Tumblr media
5 Card Stud starts with each player being dealt two cards; one card face down, followed by one card face up. There is then a 'bring in' and a betting round. Another card is dealt to the remaining players face up. In 5 Card Stud the betting rounds are typically referred to as 'Streets' from this point onwards, so the fourth card would be 'Fourth Street', and the Fifth card 'Fifth Street' and so on until the final card. Each street is followed by a betting round.
Tumblr media
The game continues until a total of five cards have been dealt, with the initial card still face down, and the other four face up. There is one final betting round after this last face up card has been dealt. After this the cards are turned up and the best hand takes the pot.
Tumblr media
I see...I mean, I didn’t understand half of that, but as long as Kokichi knows what he’d doing.
Tumblr media
...Hm...
*Kokichi and Asayoru play their cards. Kokichi is able to get a pair of 2′s. He then decides to make a bet.
Tumblr media
300,000 yen. No, in fact, take another 1 million along with that.
Tumblr media
1,300,000 yen is a lot for a first play, isn’t it? It’s only a two pair.
Tumblr media
Aw well, whatever, I’ll bet a million myself.
Tumblr media
...
*Seina smiles and hands Asayoru his cards. Syobai does the same for Kokichi, and the two turn over more of their cards. With four cards turned over, Kokichi has a 2 of Diamonds, 2 of Clubs, Queen of Diamonds and 4 of Diamonds.
Tumblr media
Well, what do you know? Looks like the cards are in my favor...
Tumblr media
So they are...
*Asayoru’s hand consists of a Queen of Clubs, Jack of Hearts, King of Hearts and Ace of Clubs.
Tumblr media
Hm...C-Could it be...?
Tumblr media
Since I have better chances...Raise. 2 million.
Tumblr media
Kokichi, stop before it gets worse...!
Tumblr media
Shuichi?
Tumblr media
Come on, stop it...!
Tumblr media
Shuichi what’s wrong?
Tumblr media
...I fold.
Tumblr media
Heh. Thank you.
*Asayoru takes the current hand of 4,300,000 yen.
Tumblr media
That’s a lot of money for a first round...!
Tumblr media
Shuichi, what’s up with you? Why were you whispering to tell Kokichi to fold.
Tumblr media
Ah, well, I don’t really know why I was saying it out loud...It’s not like he can hear me...
Tumblr media
But why did you want him to fold? I get that Asayoru was ahead, but you sounded desperate...
Tumblr media
...
Tumblr media
I think Asayoru is cheating...
Tumblr media
Cheating...!?
Tumblr media
I don’t know how, but I’ve seen enough rigged gambling matches to know that it’s next to impossible to get those kind of cards on a first pull.
Tumblr media
I’m making assumptions right now, and it’s not like I can intervene even if I wanted to, but I need to spot it...
Tumblr media
Alright...I trust you, so I’ll keep my eyes peeled too.
Tumblr media
Same.
Tumblr media
Right.
