So. The original A Song of Ice and Fire outline. This has been rehashed to death but I find it extremely interesting because GRRM has always been clear that while the journey changes and he adds lots of minor and secondary characters and changes details, the major characters and the broad strokes of their story have always been there and he’s always had the same destination in mind. I think we can glean a lot about how things will shake out from this, which is good because I’m skeptical the series will ever really be finished and it’s nice to have a sense of where it’s going. The major points:
1. This was envisioned as a 3 act trilogy over the course of a number of years. It would start with a longer war between the Starks and Lannisters, then Dany would land in Westeros, and finally the Others would invade and the War for the Dawn would begin. tbh I think he should have stuck with this; the drastic slowdown in pacing and huge explosion of tertiary storylines and characters in books 4 and 5 has really hurt the series and is probably a large part of why he’s struggling to continue imo. The Others especially have come to feel like an aside compared to the scheming about who ends up on the throne, which feels contradictory to the original idea that the Long Night was the real threat. I also think the events happening over a longer span of time makes sense: the kid characters get to grow up more (Arya, Bran, Jon, Sansa, and Dany all act like they have anyway,) events are given more room to breathe (Theon being totally broken by Ramsay and Cerseis downward spiral are both things I think would make more sense taking place over the course of a few years,) and some of the political plots would feel less rushed (like the chaotic power struggles in Kings Landing, Dany coming into her own as a leader and gathering her army, or Jon rising through the ranks of the Nights Watch and struggling to fix its many problems as troubling reports of the Others become more and more frequent.)
2. The central characters seem to be largely the same. Tyrion, Daenerys, Jon, and Arya are all clearly main protagonists. Bran though has surprisingly few chapters compared to them given that the outline calls him a key player, and it implies that Jaime is the main antagonist of the War of the Roses expy, which was altered somewhat in the series we got by greatly expanding Cerseis role and turning Jaime into something of an antihero. I am not the biggest Jaime sympathizer (I still think he’s a narcissist,) but I think Cersei is a great villain who is used to explore the way women in patriarchal societies can sink under their bitterness so I am pleased we got her out of this. Interestingly, there is no mention of Slavers Bay, and it’s pretty much outright stated Dany goes straight from the Dothraki Sea to Westeros, a change I would have liked to see.
3. Ned still dies in the same way, but Robb is killed in battle (less dramatic and doesn’t have as much potential to fuel future conflict as the Red Wedding so I’m glad that was changed) and Catelyns whole arc turns out quite differently. She goes to and eventually beyond the Wall with (still crippled, still magic) Bran and Arya to escape the Lannisters and is killed by the Others. I am of two minds about this: it makes the Others way scarier if they knock off a major character, and it is a much cooler storyline for Cat than what we got, but Aryas time posing as a commoner and showing how devastating the war is for average people is one of my favorite arcs and it would be a huge loss. Interestingly, Bran and Jon become bitter enemies over something that happens when he denies them refuge at the Wall in an attempt to honor his Nights Watch vows. This conflict I think could have a lot of potential to come true in the main story Bloodraven is evil or part of the same force that controls the Others. I really like the idea of Bran being unwittingly manipulated into dark magic because of his inexperience; his time in the cave has had a strange sinister undertone to me and I think that’s deliberate. I don’t think the Stark kids will necessarily be all smiles and hugs in any case if they do reunite. GRRM enjoys interpersonal conflict too much, to the point where he created Sansa to introduce some friction in the family.
3. Sansa chooses the Lannisters, and marries Joffrey and has a son with him. The outline says she comes to “bitterly regret” her choice and that Joffrey has the same characterization he he does in canon, so I imagine it plays out similarly to what we got, only instead of her forced marriage to Tyrion, Joffrey is still the groom. I think the bones of this still existed in the first book and that’s why Sansa warned Cersei about Neds plan to flee the capitol. I think Theon was eventually created from this arc, possibly because GRRM decided not to make Sansa an outright antagonist and had to find another kid in Winterfell who isn’t a family member but is close with them. In any case, her and her son are both killed by Jaime to secure his position, and I can state with confidence that Sansa being murdered by him is probably not going to be a plot point that carries over. I would be surprised if Sansa dies at all, though Theon probably will.
4. Tyrion is pretty different. He is still a major political player, and actually sacks Winterfell (a role later given to the Boltons.) He ends up assassinating Joffrey for his cruelty, and then Jaime wipes out everyone else before him in the line of succession and pins it on Tyrion who is sent into exile. This is similar to what happens in canon (though obviously there Tyrion never harms Joffrey and Cersei rather than Jaime is the one who blames him and takes power for herself as Tommens regent.) The next part could be a hint about Tyrion’s future. He ends up in exile, implied to be beyond the Wall, and switches sides. There is a fair amount of foreshadowing in the first book about him ending up with the Nights Watch, and I do think that might end up coming true.
5. A love triangle develops between Jon (R+L=J still in this,) Arya, and Tyrion at this point. There are two directions this could go. The first is that Tyrion was reworked into Ramsay in this scenario. Like Tyrion in the outline, Ramsay destroys Winterfell. He also marries “Arya Stark,” who we as the reader know is poor Jeyne Poole impersonating her but most people in Westeros (including Jon) assume is the real Arya. Jon famously goes nuclear and breaks his vows to the Nights Watch to march and battle Ramsay when he writes him a taunting letter saying fArya has gone missing and demanding her return. It does make for a twisted sort of love triangle and play into the angst described in the outline where Jon’s vows conflict with his love for Arya. The second scenario is that Arya became Daenerys in this situation. There is a fair amount of foreshadowing for a possible Jon/Dany romance (especially the “bride of fire” prophecy in the House of the Undying,) and of course Tyrion is on his way to her right now and with the way he talks about her already I could see him falling in love with her when they do meet.
6. I haven’t really mentioned Dany because her arc is pretty separate in this outline but is much more streamlined. The setup of her being sold as a bride to Khal Drogo is kept the same, but he never budges on invading Westeros and kills Viserys for pushing it. Dany and Viserys are implied to have a better relationship here (which would have had a knock on effect I think because the lifetime of abuse she faced from her brother was imo a key part of her character) as she is extremely upset by his murder and ends up killing Drogo to avenge him and fleeing into the wilderness, where she finds a baby dragon who she uses to invade the Seven Kingdoms. tbh this is a lot less creepy than her “falling in love” with the 30+ year old warlord she was sold to and gets her to Westeros faster so I can get behind it. As awesome as Danys anti slavery crusade is it really pushed back her joining the main story.
7. The end is blacked out, but there are some bits people have made out. Bran ends up in a “seat” that he finds uncomfortable (maybe the throne, and the controversial King Bran was always part of the plan,) and Jon is his enemy in the North (King in the North confirmed?) He also said the truth about Jons parentage eventually comes out and is a game changer with him and Arya, though I imagine it has a way bigger impact than that. It also implies Jaimes death, which imo is a given for the final series, along with Cerseis. The only Lannister sibling who has a shot is Tyrion.
Overall? I would def have loved to read this and I do think a lot of this will come true. I think the story would have benefit from a tighter focus on the core plot lines and a three act structure.

I think my biggest won’t come true goal as a writer is to write a book that gets enough traction that it could potentially be a movie, but ultimately turned out to be a tv show and each episode is based off of a fic a fan has written

The Exorcists’ Masks of Virtue
The vast majority of Exorcists in Hazbin Hotel have a notable design element that other angels don’t: their masks are missing an eye. Specifically, the right eye.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I believe this is a reference to the Bible, Matthew 5:29. Jesus says, “If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.”
He’s being hyperbolic. Mr Free Healthcare was not pro-mutilation. What he means is that you have to be willing to make sacrifices to prevent sin. The context of the eye metaphor is him condemning adultery and warning that even something as easy, casual and small as a look full of lustful intent can lead to further, worse sin if you don’t notice your sin, hold yourself accountable for it and do the work to not let it influence your decisions. This will probably be hard. It could be very, very painful. Changing your perspective can feel as horrible as plucking out your eye, so many people can’t bring themselves to do it. But although it won’t feel that way in the moment, it’s healthier for our general wellbeing in the long run to abandon traits and behaviours that damage ourselves and/or others.
(You may notice that Jesus’s teaching that you can have sinned, redeem yourself by giving up sin and thus escape damnation is the founding principle of the Hazbin Hotel. You may also notice that it contradicts everything the Exorcists believe.)
The Exorcists seem to follow this idea of painfully excising badness for the sake of the greater good devoutly to the point of placing it above teachings like ‘Thou shalt not kill’, with their job being to remove sin, in the form of sinners, to protect Heaven. Hence the missing right eyes. They’re a declaration of moral righteousness and inability to stumble.
But the truth is that the Exorcists all have their right eyes. Their flawlessness is a facade. Underneath, they are untouched, think themselves morally untouchable and, as shown by their horror and outrage when even one of them is killed, would much rather be physically untouchable too. This perfectly represents their complete unwillingness to acknowledge their own faults, let alone improve. They are never the ones who sacrifice. They force the sinners to sacrifice and don’t compensate it with any salvation. They metaphorically rip out the sinners’ eyes, but still condemn their entire bodies as inherently, permanently sinful. So they’ll just have to do another Extermination to get the other eyes! And another one to cut off their right hands! And so on until there’s nothing left.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only exception to the rule is Vaggie, both in appearance and character. Her mask has the left eye crossed out instead. Even before her expulsion, she’s set apart to the audience as an Exorcist who has the capacity to, shall we say, see a different side of things. Her mask having its ‘sinful’ right eye reflects her understanding that the Exorcist worldview is wrong.
Tumblr media
When she almost kills a demon child, her hateful vision clears. She discards the part of herself that’s an unquestioning, merciless agent of death, terror and grief… and as punishment for what Lute perceives as treacherous weakness, gets her eye plucked out.
Tumblr media
Of course Lute leaves her with only the ‘sinful’ eye. It brands Vaggie forever as the inversion, a perversion, of what the Exorcists are meant to be.
Tumblr media
You know, all this talk of eye removal in the Bible reminds of another line - ‘an eye for an eye’. Adam directly quotes it in “Hell is Forever”. He uses it to frame the Exterminations as Old Testament-style punitive justice; the sinners did harm and so they receive it. But putting aside the debate about how ethical the concept of revenge is, the entire point of taking an eye for an eye is that it’s proportional. The punishment fits the crime. If someone cuts your eye out, you shouldn’t murder their whole family in front of them and then slowly disembowel them to death. That would be the sin of wrath. You should just make them pay without excessive pain or collateral damage. This is the fairest form of revenge.
The Exorcists don’t do that! The Exterminations aren’t proportional to the wrongs of all they hurt, nor was Vaggie’s brutal punishment equivalent to her extremely mild insubordination. Lute literally takes Vaggie’s eye, and more, after Vaggie does nothing to her! That’s the opposite of the phrase! Adam and his soldiers are wrathful and cruel, deriving satisfaction from others’ suffering. But they just can’t stop going on and on about how disgustingly evil the sinners are, in total hypocrisy… despite some of the sinners being far better people than the genocidal Exorcists are… it’s like they’re obsessed with specks of dust in the sinners’ eyes when they have massive logs stuck in their own. Oh hey, that’s in the Bible too!

Do you ever think about how there totally could have been an old classmate of Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth in the audience during like turnabout sister or turnabout samurai. Do you think they would realize? Like “hey, were those the guys in my class in like fourth grade? I kinda remember them. Wonder if they remember each other. But it was so long ago, I doubt they would even care.” Meanwhile Edgeworth and Phoenix are undergoing the most insane mental battles where both of them are going “I recognize my best friend across the courtroom and I desperately want to be close with them again.” And “god he is so god damn annoying I wish he would die already.”
#ace attorney#miles edgeworth#Phoenix Wright#not specifically ship so I won’t tag it but kinda ship if you get it#the classmate usually sits in courtroom trials because they love the drama#and honestly they like miles Edgeworth’s cases cause ‘hey I know that guy’#but of course they don’t like go up and talk to him cause they weren’t really that close and he left kinda abruptly#cause knowing someone for like a year in elementary school and then pestering them about why they left 15 years later is a weird thing to do#course Phoenix comes in and now the classmate now has to deal with the knowledge that the defense and prosecution used to always eat lunch#together and play superhero’s during recess with that really weird kid who was always up to no good#what if one day the classmate was like ‘maybe I should introduce them to each other again. sure that we would all get a laugh or two in and-#-that would be the end of it and they would continue with their lives as normal people. they certainly wouldn’t get super gay and awkward-#-about the whole thing and just be completely chill.’#god what would happen and Edgeworth v state?#the classmate would probably leave the third day like ‘I am a changed person. I can never go back to not knowing so much about this person.’#and like they wouldn’t be able to say or do anything cause like??? how do you even have that conversation???#‘hey I know you don’t remember me but I like sitting in the audience of courtroom trials and I was there for your case and I just want to-#-ask are you good? like honestly do you need someone to talk to?’

Dc x dp idea:
Klarion gets his ass handed to him by young justice so hard that he is on the verge of death. With what little energy he has left he creates a teleportation sigil before passing out.
When he wakes up he’s in the far frozen with teekl 1 and 2 next to him and a yeti and a boy slightly older than him across the room talking.
After talking with frostbite and getting to know Danny, Dani and Jazz he becomes a part of the Phantoms and by extension, a prince of the Infinate realms.
He’s still allowed to cause chaos on earth but he needs to have a way to communicate with frightknight or Danny and have both his now immortal cats with him.
The same old song and dance happens until young justice visit the Infinate realms and attack Klarion on sight only to be arrested.

It’s just…so painful to watch Armand readily submit in order to obtain the love he so desperately craves. And while it’s most assuredly a manipulative tactic, it’s still one borne out of fear and desperation. He cannot lose this person he’s come to love and so will become whatever they want, do whatever they want just so they’ll stay with him. But it won’t be enough. No matter how much he acquiesces or seeks to control (himself, others, the environment), he won’t be able to make Louis stay with him in the perfect life, perfect self he built in the hopes of finally being loved. It will all crumble with Armand left alone in the rubble of what he created, the author of his own abandonment.
#this unfortunately hits way too close to home for me#let’s not even get into Claudia’s anger at never being enough#iwtv spoilers#interview with the vampire#armand#this is just me speaking from personal experience…but there is definite manipulation at play here from Armand#and I don’t necessarily mean that pejoratively- when you’re desperate for people to like/love you you’ll become whatever they want#or whatever you think they’d want and you give it to them so they’ll want to keep you around#I’ve done it so often with the people in my life- and make no mistake it’s also a survival tactic#you give someone what they want they won’t hurt you#and when that’s how you survive for years and years it becomes the default method of interacting with others#even with normal people who genuinely mean you no harm you revert to that people pleasing mode#as a means of control both external and internal#this is what i see armand doing- his way of surviving that he’s never truly broken out of#armand ceding coven control to Louis and curating the Dubai penthouse for Louis are part of the same pattern of behavior#and even tho it’s ultimately harmful and will only end badly for armand and Louis’ relationship#idk if armand knows how to not exist that way with someone he loves/desires#all of this also ties into louis and daniel#because of course Armand will lose it over Louis finding connection and interest with someone else aside from him#someone HUMAN no less#and I can see Armand taking out his anger on Daniel as a way of expressing his own frustration at still not being enough for Louis#breaking daniel’s mind in a desperate attempt to understand why this human could reach Louis in ways he couldn’t#not saying any of this to excuse Armand and his behavior obviously (I’m very upset and worried over the trial looming on the horizon)#but I do understand this impulse and how you’ll throw ANYONE under the bus in order to preserve your place with loved ones#it’s all horrifying but unfortunately I empathize#like even if Louis is right to walk out on him when he learns/remembers the truth of what happened to Claudia#I’ll probably still find myself saddened by Armand’s fate because I’ve absolutely been there myself#it’s a tragedy of his own making- his fear and desperation birthing manipulative and controlling behaviors#that ultimately result in your own abandonment#god this fucking show

I AM DESPERATE FOR AN ETHO/CLEO/GEM TEAM UP IN THE NEXT LIFE SERIES, THROW BDUBS IN AND I THINK ILL ACTUALLY CRY TEARS OF HAPPINESS
This is stemming from Cleo’s and Bdubs streams today I’m actually foaming at the mouth for more interactions between the four of them. I just need to see Cleo and Etho on the same team for more then one session, I need Cleo and Gem to bully the heck out of Etho, I need whatever drugs they put into every Bdubs and Etho interaction. Etho making sure both Bdubs and Cleo got fair trades with deckout, gem being the one to scam, etho and cleo having the moment where they’re both genuinely complimenting each other before both of them basically freeze and immediately go “never again”
They then say “people saying I’m being mean to Etho? Yeah, it’s called begrudging respect”
I NEED THEM TO TEAM UP
I KNOW I SAY I WANT SO MANY TEAM UPS BUT THIS ONE IS REAL I SWEAR 🤞

It ever just hit you how Katsuki spent most of his life cursing his rotten bond with Izuku that he couldn’t get rid of, until he was hit by the realisation he actually loves and needs Izuku so much that he would feel like he died himself if Izuku ever were to leave him
Tumblr media
and then during a time when Izuku left him, Katsuki really did freaking die…?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The symbolism?? Like talk about a bond with love so strong, that person literally holds your life in their hands and you would willingly give it up for them a countless times over, without question.
Even though Katsuki was forced to endure so much suffering all on his own because of what he means to Izuku, he could choose only him in his final moments.
When one stares into death, often they will expose the true shape of their heart. For Katsuki that’s Izuku. It’s always been Izuku. In his search for comfort, he could see and feel no one else. Thinking of him, talking to him, longing to be by his side again… wanting for nothing other than to be the hero Izuku believes in and loves… right ‘til the very end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Katsuki knew Izuku’s love was why he had been horrifically beaten down first and that he was going to die, but he held it so closely and dear to him, as if it were the most precious treasure.
Tumblr media
Like it was the only thing that mattered.

I actually. Find Alluka and Nanika so fascinating and I do hope they come back in a future arc. Not least because of Nanika’s Dark Continent connection, but also I would love to see an entire arc centering on Alluka and what she makes of this world now that she has the freedom to join it. What kind of person does Alluka want to be? Is she going to make any friends? What about Nanika, will Nanika be able to have friends? How will they use their abilities going forward? Will Alluka and Kalluto have some kind of confrontation? What about Alluka and Nanika’s relation with life and death? Will Alluka learn Nen? Will she meet Ikalgo and Palm and Bisky and Kurapika and Leorio? Does she steal the phone sometimes to chat with Gon? How much time will she get to enjoy the world, and how much will she be rushed due to being on the run?
And that’s not even getting into all the goofy and sweet sibling shenanigans. I just know Killua and Alluka are partners in mischief.
